- 0:01Speaker 1: Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath.
- 0:08Speaker 1: For it is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay,
- 0:14Speaker 1: saith the Lord. Romans 12.19 Dear Lord, I realize that
- 0:22Speaker 1: I have nothing to gain and everything to lose by
- 0:27Speaker 1: retaliating and seeking revenge. Yet, my heart can still turn
- 0:33Speaker 1: to pettiness, pride, and piousness when I am wronged. Center
- 0:39Speaker 1: me in your peace, Lord. Grant me supernatural patience toward
- 0:45Speaker 1: those who have hurt me and remind me of the
- 0:48Speaker 1: abundant grace you've bestowed upon me. In Jesus' name, amen.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Thank you for joining me in prayer. Stay tuned for
- 0:58Speaker 1: today's free podcast, Meditative Prayers with Zach Clinton, where you
- 1:02Speaker 1: can draw close to God and find strength in Him.
- 1:08Speaker 2: My friends, welcome to your meditative prayer on deep forgiveness.
- 1:12Speaker 2: To get the most out of your spiritual journey, use
- 1:13Speaker 2: Pray.com every day and make prayer a priority in your life. Again,
- 1:18Speaker 2: our goal for today's meditative prayer is all about deep forgiveness.
- 1:22Speaker 2: So right now, my friends, let's just take a second
- 1:24Speaker 2: to slow down. Maybe head to a quiet and relaxed spot,
- 1:29Speaker 2: a place where you can be alone with your thoughts
- 1:34Speaker 2: and examine your heart. As you close your eyes, I
- 1:39Speaker 2: would encourage you to breathe deeply in and then breathe
- 1:43Speaker 2: deeply out. Shift your attention now to the Word of God.
- 1:50Speaker 2: And open your heart and mind to receive what the
- 1:52Speaker 2: Holy Spirit has prepared for you. Today we'll be meditating
- 1:56Speaker 2: on Romans chapter 12 verse 19 from the King James Version.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath.
- 2:08Speaker 2: For it is written, vengeance is mine. I will repay,
- 2:13Speaker 2: saith the Lord. Now my friends, just take a moment
- 2:16Speaker 2: to pour out your adoration to God. I extol your name,
- 2:20Speaker 2: O God, most high, for there is no one holy
- 2:23Speaker 2: like you. There is no one beside you. Righteousness and
- 2:28Speaker 2: justice are found in your hands. God, you judge the
- 2:32Speaker 2: nations and give to each person according to their deeds.
- 2:36Speaker 2: So I will praise you as long as I live,
- 2:39Speaker 2: and in your name I will lift my hands. Vengeance
- 2:44Speaker 2: belongs to God. Sometimes the hardest part of forgiveness is
- 2:48Speaker 2: accepting the truth that you are not entitled to take
- 2:52Speaker 2: retaliation into your own hands. It is not your responsibility
- 2:56Speaker 2: nor your right to settle any score or to attempt
- 2:59Speaker 2: to right the wrongs done against you. Only God can
- 3:02Speaker 2: give retributive justice, for He alone is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Never forget, God holds the title of Supreme Judge. And
- 3:15Speaker 2: none but he can pass sentence and execute punishment. So
- 3:19Speaker 2: do not waste your precious time here on earth with wrath.
- 3:23Speaker 2: And do not allow bitterness to consume you. Do not
- 3:26Speaker 2: worry or concern yourself with retribution. For it is futile
- 3:29Speaker 2: to obsess over what you cannot control. No matter how
- 3:34Speaker 2: unlikely it may seem, vengeance will be had and God
- 3:38Speaker 2: will settle every score. You must trust him. This truth
- 3:43Speaker 2: can be hard to process and to accept as we
- 3:46Speaker 2: feel we are owed justice. But humanity and God's concept
- 3:50Speaker 2: and understanding of justice are not the same. God does
- 3:54Speaker 2: not equate your justice and your righteousness to someone else's punishment.
- 3:58Speaker 2: God would never belittle you in such a way. Someone
- 4:01Speaker 2: else's punishment is just that, their punishment. Your righteousness is
- 4:07Speaker 2: the manifestation of God's goodness over you. Your justice is
- 4:11Speaker 2: is the fulfillment of the dreams God placed on your
- 4:14Speaker 2: heart in spite of what was done to you. Your
- 4:18Speaker 2: righteousness and your justice are the fruition of God's blessing
- 4:21Speaker 2: in your life, here in the land of the living.
- 4:25Speaker 2: For God will restore to you the years the locust devoured.
- 4:30Speaker 2: So now, my friends, take the time to reflect on
- 4:33Speaker 2: any feelings of frustration and helplessness and share with Jesus
- 4:37Speaker 2: your struggles with unforgiveness. Tell Him of your pain. And
- 4:41Speaker 2: confess your sins to God. Now my friends as we
- 4:46Speaker 2: make the transition. I'd love it if we could just
- 4:49Speaker 2: take a moment now to dwell on God's justice. Thank
- 4:53Speaker 2: God that his word is truth. That he cannot and
- 4:57Speaker 2: does not lie. Thank him that his integrity cannot be bought.
- 5:02Speaker 2: It cannot be swayed. Nor will it ever be corrupted.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Thank God that he is the fair judge. that he
- 5:10Speaker 2: gives to each according to their deeds. Thank God for
- 5:14Speaker 2: the blessings of his righteousness and his goodness over your life,
- 5:18Speaker 2: for his faithfulness and his recompense today and always. Do
- 5:24Speaker 2: not forget, God is present and he is listening to you.
- 5:28Speaker 2: He desires for you to live a life filled with
- 5:30Speaker 2: his justness and his truth. Jesus wants you to know
- 5:34Speaker 2: you can trust him. So ask the Holy Spirit to
- 5:38Speaker 2: transform your mind to teach you how to forgive. Ask
- 5:42Speaker 2: Him to remove all bitterness and grudges from your heart.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Ask the Holy Spirit for confidence in the truth that
- 5:48Speaker 2: God is fair and just and ask for reassurance that
- 5:52Speaker 2: holy and righteous vindication cannot be thwarted. Remember, vengeance does
- 5:59Speaker 2: not belong to you, it belongs to God. For God
- 6:03Speaker 2: alone is judge and He will pass sentence upon all.
- 6:07Speaker 2: He alone is righteous. And He will give to each
- 6:10Speaker 2: person what they deserve. You were not made to carry hate,
- 6:15Speaker 2: to judge others, and to pass sentence. God created you
- 6:18Speaker 2: for Himself, for love. So choose freedom from the weight
- 6:24Speaker 2: of revenge for today and for every day to come.
- 6:28Speaker 2: And be filled with the confidence of Christ and of
- 6:31Speaker 2: His righteousness. My friends, as always, thank you guys for
- 6:36Speaker 2: completing today's meditative prayer on Pray.com. By incorporating this healthy
- 6:41Speaker 2: habit as a daily practice, I believe you're not only
