- 0:04Speaker 1: Eight oh eight thirteen ten Wuiba and ask the experts,
- 0:09Speaker 1: joined this morning by Andrew Larson. Of course, Andrew comes
- 0:12Speaker 1: to us from Larsen Homes Services. The website Larsenhomes Services
- 0:16Speaker 1: dot com. That's l a rs N Home Services dot com.
- 0:21Speaker 1: They're telling forh number six O eight five three five
- 0:23Speaker 1: forty three forty three. That's five three five forty three
- 0:26Speaker 1: forty three mentioned eight O eight's Honolulu, Hawaii. So you
- 0:29Speaker 1: figure that one out. How they did that franchise, I know,
- 0:32Speaker 1: ain't that interesting, Although.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I was to say Jamesville, Wisconsin and Oshko.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Although I will say, Andrew, if you're ever interested
- 0:42Speaker 1: in expanding to Hawaii, I will I will submit an
- 0:46Speaker 1: application immediately as as you're reaching Larsen Services two locations, Yes,
- 0:54Speaker 1: Northern Illinois, southern all of Wisconsin, and the Hawaii off.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Cheesecake is legitimately my favorite.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Oh man, your birthday was just just a couple of
- 1:09Speaker 1: days ago. I'm gonna have to maybe next year we'll
- 1:12Speaker 1: have to pick you up some cheesecake. Speaking of birthdays
- 1:15Speaker 1: and birthday gifts, I shared with you a fun picture.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I don't know who did this, but there was a
- 1:23Speaker 1: car I saw posted somebody on my friend friends.
- 1:26Speaker 3: I almost want to put that on our Instagram page
- 1:28Speaker 3: and be like, there are more than one ways to
- 1:30Speaker 3: use a gutter.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Yes, let's let's share with what. So it's a picture
- 1:35Speaker 1: of a car, but this car's got a unique, unique
- 1:38Speaker 1: ground effects, doesn't it.
- 1:40Speaker 3: You know, instead of actually like putting real trim on
- 1:43Speaker 3: the bottom of the car. You know how some people
- 1:45Speaker 3: like to like build out the fenders and why they
- 1:48Speaker 3: used vinyl plastic gutters and and this is not like
- 1:54Speaker 3: a junkie car, No, not at all.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It's a pretty nice car. And from what I can tell,
- 1:58Speaker 2: it's not photoshopped. Huh. I guess work with what you got, right,
- 2:05Speaker 2: I guess.
- 2:05Speaker 1: And I'll be curious to see, like and maybe we
- 2:09Speaker 1: could take a queue from this and and maybe bolt
- 2:12Speaker 1: some some gutter shutter gutters on one of your work trucks,
- 2:16Speaker 1: just to show their durability.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I mean, they're so strong we could put them up
- 2:20Speaker 2: the right way and you could use it as a step.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Oh geez, Yes, it's important. I am looking at as
- 2:28Speaker 1: we're talking with Andrew Larson this morning. Andrew, looking at
- 2:31Speaker 1: the forecast, the rain is coming back big time. So
- 2:35Speaker 1: having good gutters. Moi, moi important.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Very important.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Yeah, come on now, Yes, the rain is coming. You know,
- 2:47Speaker 3: it's been kind of a nice reprieve, right like, it
- 2:50Speaker 3: rained and rained and rained and rained, and we're going,
- 2:53Speaker 3: holy cow. Obviously we get really busy when it rains,
- 2:57Speaker 3: so that's a good thing, but trying to work around
- 2:59Speaker 3: it kind of sting and people are getting flooded and
- 3:01Speaker 3: that's no good. But we've had some reprieve. I don't know,
- 3:06Speaker 3: it seems like it's been a couple of weeks. Maybe
- 3:08Speaker 3: it hasn't even been that long, but anyway, we're getting
- 3:11Speaker 3: some rain and it looks like it could be a
- 3:14Speaker 3: lot of rain. And that's why gutters are so important,
- 3:17Speaker 3: and not just any gutter, but gutter shutter. And you know,
- 3:21Speaker 3: my biggest flex with gutter shutter, honestly is the size
- 3:24Speaker 3: and the strength yea, and being as big as it is,
- 3:28Speaker 3: how great it still looks because I'm not kidding, Like
- 3:32Speaker 3: sometimes we put this in front of people at the
- 3:34Speaker 3: kitchen table when we're at their house and they're going, wow,
- 3:37Speaker 3: that's that's really big. What is that going to look like?
- 3:42Speaker 3: And then we show them pictures of what it looks
- 3:44Speaker 3: like on the home and it looks beautiful. It can
- 3:46Speaker 3: look like a piece of custom molding. And because it
- 3:49Speaker 3: is bigger most facial boards, and if people don't know
- 3:53Speaker 3: what a facial board that's like, that's the actual board
- 3:55Speaker 3: that you look at on your house. It faces you,
- 3:58Speaker 3: and that's what your gutters get screwed too. Are about
- 4:02Speaker 3: six inches, and our gutter will most for the most part,
- 4:07Speaker 3: will cover the whole facial board, which is a good
- 4:09Speaker 3: thing because a lot of facial boards get dirty and
- 4:12Speaker 3: grimy and faded and chipped, and it will cover the
- 4:17Speaker 3: whole thing. It makes everything look brand new, which is fantastic.
- 4:21Speaker 3: The size is a huge, huge advantage because it can
- 4:26Speaker 3: handle so much water. On my old home, I had
- 4:30Speaker 3: a stretch of gutters that went eighty feet and I
- 4:33Speaker 3: had one down spout and it carried all the water
- 4:37Speaker 3: perfectly fine. Now we don't recommend going eighty feet all
- 4:40Speaker 3: the time, but I wanted to test it and I
- 4:42Speaker 3: never had an overflow and I never had an issue
- 4:45Speaker 3: with it. So that's a huge advantage over basically any
- 4:49Speaker 3: of my competitors or almost any open gutter system, unless
- 4:52Speaker 3: you're putting a six inch open gutter system on which
- 4:55Speaker 3: worked great for heavy flow. They just don't work great
- 4:58Speaker 3: for debreathe because they're bigger and they actually catch more debris.
- 5:02Speaker 3: But we guarantee gutter shutter to never clog. If it
- 5:04Speaker 3: ever does, we clean it for free. And I talk
- 5:07Speaker 3: about the strength. I believe we just real well, about
- 5:12Speaker 3: a year ago, we re released a video where we
- 5:15Speaker 3: showed and shame on us, but we didn't actually put
- 5:21Speaker 3: the video up. We had two.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Of our production guys and.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Actually the guy who does the video, our videographer, all
- 5:30Speaker 3: hanging from the gutter, three people, one six foot piece
- 5:34Speaker 3: of gutter. It was around six a little over six
- 5:38Speaker 3: hundred pounds, and we didn't put.
- 5:41Speaker 2: The video of them hanging from it.
- 5:43Speaker 3: We put a photo of them, and we got so
- 5:45Speaker 3: much crap on the internet that it was fake.
- 5:48Speaker 2: They were laying on their back. That's not possible. There's
- 5:51Speaker 2: no way.
- 5:52Speaker 3: I'm here to tell you it was not fake. They
- 5:55Speaker 3: were really doing it. And I believe he just released
- 5:58Speaker 3: another video Shane, our videographer, of him actually hopping up
- 6:04Speaker 3: and wrapping off like ten pull ups on it.
- 6:06Speaker 2: And then but then people still want to be like, wow,
- 6:08Speaker 2: he doesn't weigh that much.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Well, he's actually like six ' three and he's about
- 6:11Speaker 3: two hundred and fifteen pounds, which isn't six hundred pounds,
- 6:15Speaker 3: but it's a lot of weight. And there is no
- 6:17Speaker 3: other gutter system that you could do that. For the
- 6:19Speaker 3: old gutter system that would you used would have ripped
- 6:21Speaker 3: right open. They had absolutely no support on the front
- 6:24Speaker 3: of it. And any regular open gutter would just literally
- 6:28Speaker 3: rip wide open. This is the largest, most durable, maintenance
- 6:32Speaker 3: free gutter on the market, and there's nothing that's even close.
- 6:37Speaker 3: So when we have our winters where we have snow
- 6:41Speaker 3: after snow and ice, you don't have to worry about
- 6:44Speaker 3: this getting pulled off the home or misformed at all.
- 6:47Speaker 3: It's literally not possible. If we can hang six hundred
- 6:51Speaker 3: pounds from six feet, we don't have to worry about
- 6:53Speaker 3: ice and snow in this gutter. So it truly is
- 6:57Speaker 3: a one and done, a one and done product.
- 6:59Speaker 1: And you talk about the strength of gutter shutter and
- 7:02Speaker 1: what makes it so you know such as strong and
- 7:05Speaker 1: its size, and I think one of the things, and
- 7:07Speaker 1: I think for folks that have had a chance to
- 7:09Speaker 1: either have somebody from large storm services come out and
- 7:12Speaker 1: do a consultation and see examples of how gutter shutter
- 7:17Speaker 1: exactly works or folks that have come out. I know
- 7:20Speaker 1: over the summer you get out to a lot of
- 7:21Speaker 1: the lot of the shows, builder shows and other things,
- 7:23Speaker 1: and people can see these things, those brackets that are
- 7:26Speaker 1: that are on the inside. Obviously the aluminum itself sturdy, rigid, thick,
- 7:31Speaker 1: but there's those brackets that are on the inside that
- 7:34Speaker 1: is holding the stuff together. I mean, it's it's absolutely
- 7:36Speaker 1: amazing that system that goes together real quick. Though, before
- 7:39Speaker 1: we wrap up this week with rain and other things
- 7:42Speaker 1: going on, you never know, you know, mother nature has
- 7:44Speaker 1: been arnery the past few years, whether it's you know,
- 7:48Speaker 1: extreme heat, extreme cold, winds, or no rain. One of
- 7:53Speaker 1: the great things about large storm services and one of
- 7:55Speaker 1: the great areas that you guys excel in is getting
- 7:58Speaker 1: to people when they need and you have a rapid
- 8:01Speaker 1: response team out there that's able to help people. And
- 8:04Speaker 1: you know, whether it's like you think of, like things
- 8:06Speaker 1: like hail and you know, or other type of damage
- 8:08Speaker 1: water coming in, you do have the ability to get
- 8:11Speaker 1: out and help people that may may have noticed an
- 8:13Speaker 1: issue and get that remedied as quickly as possible, don't you, Andrew,
- 8:17Speaker 1: We do.
- 8:17Speaker 3: It's something we just started this year. We call our
- 8:20Speaker 3: our Roofing Rapid Response Team. And now I'm be honest like,
- 8:23Speaker 3: we haven't When I say we haven't perfected it, we
- 8:26Speaker 3: haven't perfected it in the in the sense that we
- 8:31Speaker 3: typically during that really heavy rain don't have enough people
- 8:34Speaker 3: to help as many people that are calling in.
- 8:39Speaker 2: It's it's it's.
- 8:40Speaker 3: New for us because we were getting people calling and saying, hey,
- 8:43Speaker 3: I think I need a new roof. I actually have
- 8:44Speaker 3: water coming in my house right now. What an absolutely
- 8:48Speaker 3: helpless feeling, especially with the rain that we've had this year,
- 8:52Speaker 3: where it will rain and then rain again, and then
- 8:55Speaker 3: rain again and rain again. And it's these heavy, soaking
- 8:58Speaker 3: rains where we get an inch two inches three inches
- 9:00Speaker 3: of rain, where poor roofing decisions by other contractors, where
- 9:05Speaker 3: we skimp out on flashings, where we don't tear the
- 9:09Speaker 3: other shingles off before we do a new roof, that's
- 9:12Speaker 3: when these things rear their ugly heads. I've said time
- 9:15Speaker 3: and time again that the shingles are the beautiful part.
- 9:18Speaker 3: The shingles is what protects the important stuff, the underlayments
- 9:21Speaker 3: and the flashings. And if we don't replace the underlayments.
- 9:24Speaker 2: And the flashings. It doesn't matter what shingles we put on.
- 9:26Speaker 2: At some point this roof is going to leak, and.
- 9:28Speaker 3: That's what we're seeing. So we have a rapid response team.
- 9:31Speaker 3: If you happen to have a leak coming in the
- 9:33Speaker 3: home and you know you can't at least get a
- 9:35Speaker 3: bucket under it, or you feel helpless, call us. We
- 9:40Speaker 3: will do our best to send somebody out.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Now.
- 9:42Speaker 3: I do want to say this, this is not a
- 9:45Speaker 3: permanent fix. This is a temporary band aid where we
- 9:50Speaker 3: can stop quote unquote stop the bleeding temporarily. So what
- 9:56Speaker 3: we like to do is if you call in and
- 9:57Speaker 3: you say, I have a roof leak, it's coming. I
- 10:00Speaker 3: don't know what to do perfect well not perfect, but
- 10:04Speaker 3: we'll help you. What we're going to do is we're
- 10:06Speaker 3: going to book an appointment for one of our estimators
- 10:08Speaker 3: to come out. Now that could turn into a full roof,
- 10:11Speaker 3: or that could turn into a restore or a repair,
- 10:15Speaker 3: but what we're going to do is get someone out
- 10:17Speaker 3: there as soon as we can. We're going to stop
- 10:19Speaker 3: the bleeding or do a temporary fix until we get
- 10:22Speaker 3: our estimator out there to come up with a permanent solution,
- 10:27Speaker 3: and I mean I'll throw it out there right now.
- 10:28Speaker 3: I mean the cost of us to come out is
- 10:30Speaker 3: four hundred and ninety nine dollars. Some people say that
- 10:32Speaker 3: sounds really expensive, but to have people on call to go.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Do this stuff, it's expensive.
- 10:39Speaker 3: But when we come back out, if we come up
- 10:41Speaker 3: with a permanent solution, I eat a full roof or
- 10:45Speaker 3: a actual repair. If we do a repair, you're going
- 10:49Speaker 3: to get half the cost of the rapid response charge back.
- 10:53Speaker 3: If we do a full roof, you're going to get
- 10:55Speaker 3: the entire charge back. So we're not trying to say hey,
- 11:00Speaker 3: we want to take five hundred dollars and then be gone,
- 11:02Speaker 3: no no, no, no no.
- 11:03Speaker 2: This is to get us out there.
- 11:04Speaker 3: This is to stop the bleeding, stop the leak until
- 11:07Speaker 3: we can get out.
- 11:07Speaker 2: There and permanently fix it.
- 11:09Speaker 3: If we permanently, if we repair it, do an actual
- 11:12Speaker 3: real repair, we're giving you two hundred and fifty dollars
- 11:15Speaker 3: off the cost of that repair.
- 11:17Speaker 2: And if we do a full roof, the full.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Four hundred and ninety nine dollars is going to come
- 11:21Speaker 3: off the price of the roof. So we're really just
- 11:23Speaker 3: trying to help people and be able to get to
- 11:25Speaker 3: them sooner.
- 11:26Speaker 1: So important as we talk about this stuff, of course,
- 11:29Speaker 1: the rapid response having your roof looked at, inspected it.
- 11:32Speaker 1: If you've got those problems, having the folks Martstom Services
- 11:35Speaker 1: come out and address those issues. You don't want them
- 11:37Speaker 1: to get worse. Of course we talk with Andrew. You
- 11:39Speaker 1: can always give them a call, make that phone ring,
- 11:41Speaker 1: make a ding this morning six so eight five three
