- Craig: Well we made it guys. We are finally at week one of the NFL season, and we are jumping in today looking at my rankings at all the positions. Welcome back to Fat Daddy Sports. I am Craig. If you're new here, drop a like, drop a comment, hit that subscribe button, and help us get to our first 100 subs here on the channel. Today we are jumping in, looking at the rankings, my rankings for the quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight end positions here in week one. Without further ado, let's jump right into it right now. We'll put them up on the screen here. And you can see that we have Lamar Jackson as our quarterback one this year, a new Coaching staff in Baltimore scares me a little bit. I've talked about my concerns there, but I do think with Declan Doyle there, he has publicly come out and said they are hunting big plays this year. I think against Indianapolis, that's a fun game. It could be a a bit of a shootout down the stretch. I'll take Lamar in week one in that dome on the turf. Could be running all over the place, dropping dimes left and right. We will see. ⁓ but then we'll take Josh Allen, the safe bet at number two. And then a guy, Joe Burrow, who I think is possibly gonna have an MVP type season this year, but he always seems to get off to those slow starts in week one for whatever reason. Wanted to put him up towards the top against that Tampa Bay defense, but I just couldn't with his his slow starts in the past. So I bumped him down a little bit, probably wanted to bump him down closer to that seven or eight range, but I just couldn't do that. So we'll put Joe Burrow at number three. And then you've got Justin Herbert, a guy that I've talked about numerous times on this channel. I think he's going to have a phenomenal year against Arizona in week one. Should have a big game. Jared Goff at five. Dak Prescott six. Drake May seven. Drake May coming off that MVP runner-up season. Got the new addition of AJ Brown there. Should be a very exciting offense, but obviously going up against a tough caliber defense there with the Seattle Seahawks in game one. So we bump him down just a little bit. Jalen Hurts, somebody that I'm very concerned about, comes in at number eight against Washington in a game that realistically the Eagles should be able to do whatever they want. We'll bump him down just a little bit. Caleb Williams against Carolina. That one feels like a game where they could just get up big very early. And if Caleb Williams isn't throwing the touchdowns early, I don't know that his points are gonna be that big in that game against Carolina. Jaden Daniels, on the flip side of that Philadelphia game, comes in at number 11. I just don't know what to make of the commanders yet. So I don't want to mo move him up too high. Obviously love the talent of Jaden Daniels, but scared to rank him any higher. ⁓ kind of the same thing with Jackson Dart with Matt Nagy there calling the plays. I don't know what to make of it. Guys coming back from injury. I don't know if we're gonna get full strength Malik neighbors if we get neighbors at all. I think we will, but to be determined there, Cam Scatabou, Najee Harris all of a sudden is on the team. I don't know what to make of the Giants yet. So I'm gonna leave him down there. Trevor Lawrence comes in at number 12 against the Cleveland Browns, and that one feels ⁓ a lot like the Caleb Williams to me. I think that the Jags could have could get up very early in that game. And if Lawrence isn't getting the touchdowns early, he may not score very many points for you. So just temper expectations there. Should be a very big game for the Jaguars. I I don't see them struggling too much with Cleveland. And then over to running back or quarterbacks 13 through 24, Brock Purdy against the Rams in what should be a very fun game in week one. Division Rivals there. Stafford comes in at number 14 on the other side of that game. And then new Vikings quarterback one, Kyler Murray, comes in at 15 for me. And honestly, I'm probably too low on that one. I think Kyler could have a big year. He he brings in that safe floor with his rushing stats. And throwing to Justin Jefferson's obviously going to give any quarterback a boost. Well Maybe not any quarterback. I say that lightly as a Michigan Wolverines fan. Love you, JJ. Pulling for you. But it it just didn't work out last year. So hopefully Kyler Murray, for all you Justin Jefferson owners out there in fantasy football, hopefully Kyler Murray can get him back to that elite status. Baker Mayfield gonna have a huge year, comes in at sixteen. Patrick Mahomes coming off of that injury against a tough Denver defense. Should be electric there in Kansas City, but I do think that they are gonna really try to pound the rock. A lot of short throws, quick throws. Don't want to get Patrick hurt again. Don't want him to get hit. So they're going to be doing a lot of quick stuff, intermediate throws, short throws, getting the ball out of his hands very quickly. Bo Nick's on the other side of that, ⁓ I think could have another big year. Jordan Love, Tyler Shuck, somebody that's being slept on majorly in the fantasy world. I think the ones that do know have him ranked accordingly, the ones that don't. Are sleeping on Tyler Shuck. He's got a lot of weapons there that are very unsung heroes right now. I think midway through the season, a lot of people are going to know those wide receivers' names. They bring in HN from Jacksonville. He's going to be a phenomenal ad to that running back room if they get Camara back. As well, I think that the Saints could have a very exciting offense this year. Super Bowl champion Sam Darnold comes in at 21. CJ Stroud, Malik Willis, and Bryce Young round out our quarterbacks. Overall, There's some guys you could move around. There's some guys that I moved around, took some chances on, but it's week one. You don't know what you're gonna get. Every year we have guys that we think are gonna dominate and they just fall off the map. I talked about Joe Burrow. Like historically, every year, week one, he gets off to a very slow start. And he's always ranked right up there at the top. So we'll see who it is this year that gets off to those slow starts. And we will jump over to the running back rankings now. Put those up on the screen. We are looking at our big dogs, the ones that everybody took early in the draft. In Jameer Gibbs, Bijan Robinson, Christian McCaffrey, Jonathan Taylor, James Cook, Chase Brown, Amarian Hampton, Saquon, Derek Henry, Ken Walker, Genty. Those guys guy those guys kind of all went in that order in the draft. You drafted them there for a reason. Don't mess around. Don't get cue with your lineup in week one just because of Tough matchup, ⁓ like B. John Robinson against Pittsburgh, historically a very good run defense. Christian McCaffrey against the Rams, who are, you know, penned to be the greatest defense of all time this year. ⁓ they're gonna be a very scary unit unit. But also, Christian McCaffrey is very scary too. Don't change your rankings just because of the defense. It's still CMC. It's still Bijan. It's still Gibbs, it's still Taylor, whatever the matchup is. It doesn't matter. Don't get cute with your lineups in week one. Play your studs. You drafted them there for a reason. Don't be silly. ⁓ so that that rounds out the first 11 guys. Brees Hall is there, Javante Williams, Devon Achan. That one is maybe a guy that I have a lot lower than a lot of other people do. I I'm just not a believer in this Miami offense. And until they prove it, I can't move Achan up any higher than that. I would love to put him up around that five or six range where he's going on a lot of sites. But to see him without his offensive weapons that he's had the last couple of years, to have him without Mike McDaniel calling the plays, I can't move him up any higher than that. I can't put him in that running back one conversation yet. ⁓ I think that there's a good chance that he could be, maybe even as soon as next week. If he goes out and dominates the touches, dominates and scores a few touchdowns this week, then I'll obviously move him up. But week one I gotta see it before I can move him up any higher. Travis Han Jr., Travis Etienne Jr., whatever you want to call him. I know what he's asking to be called, so we'll go with A Chan. I just talked about him a minute ago. I think he's gonna have a very exciting year, a very good year. Two of the last three years, he's been a high end RB two for you. And I think the same is gonna continue this year in what should be a good young Saints offense with Kellen Moore calling the plays there. And in week one against Detroit, I mean they're gonna have to score the points to keep up with Detroit. So I've got him there at running back 15, just ahead of Kyron Williams, a guy that I think is gonna take a little bit of a step back this year just because the emergence of Blake Coram. DeAndre Swift, Cam Scatabou, Bucky Irving, David Montgomery, Quinshawn Judkins, and the rookie Jadarian Price in Seattle. I've talked about Price in previous videos. He's primed for a huge start to the year. I mean, he doesn't really have any competition until Charbonnet is back. And until then, I'm gonna rank him there at that running back two position. Should have plenty of work here in week one against New England. Jeremiah Love should be healthy, should be good to go. If not, it'll be Tyler Algier. He'll slot up into this range here at the low, low end RB two, mid RB two range. You know, if it if it is just Algier there and Jeremiah Love is not there, I think I'll move Algier up a little higher, probably to a top end RB two, just because he won't have anybody competing for those touches. If both guys are there, I give the slight edge to Jeremiah Love and I move him, you know, he's right there in that mid to low end RB two until I see more out of him, until I see how they distribute the touches. ⁓ and then Jalen Warren rounds out the running backs at running back 24 against Atlanta. We will go ahead and pull up our wide receiver ranks for week one. We are looking at Amon Ra St. Brown as my wide receiver number one this week. Like I said, I think that that. Detroit and New Orleans game could end up being a little bit of a shootout. I think both offenses are very, very exciting, very fun. Amon Raul should get a ton of targets, ton of work this year. I mean, he's constantly in that top three or four wide receiver. So putting him at one really doesn't it doesn't surprise me at all. Puka Nakua against a good San Francisco team. Jackson Smith and Jigba against the Patriots and CD Lamb at the Giants. Jamar Chase, I bumped him down just a little bit just because of that Burrow slow start, the Bengals slow start. I'd like to move Jamar Chase up higher, but I just can't yet. Justin Jefferson at number six, I think they are going to just target the crap out of him in week one. Kyler Murray and Justin Jefferson are gonna put on a master class. They may be two yard passes, but they are gonna get the ball to Justin Jefferson that the Vikings can't afford for another season of disappointment with Justin Jefferson. He's gonna get a ton of targets, ton of work in week one specifically. Chris Olave against Detroit comes in at wide receiver seven. AJ Brown in his new home in New England comes in at wide receiver number eight. Nico Collins for the Texans at wide receiver nine. Rasheed Rice coming back from that injury, coming back from his crazy offseason once again. ⁓ should be a good target monster for the Kansas City Chiefs. I've got him right there at wide receiver 10, George Pickens at 11, Garrett Wilson, who I think is going to have a phenomenal year at wide receiver 12. I just don't know that the touchdowns will be there for Wilson. I think a lot of his work is just going to be on the targets and how much yardage he can rack up every game. So I always will have him right around that low end wide receiver one range. Drake London, Zay Flowers, keep an eye on Zay Flowers, make sure he is out there, good to go. Devonta Smith, Jalen Waddle, Christian Watson, and Devontae Adams. And then Ladd McConkey, somebody that I think is going to get back to his rookie year and how he kind of dominated that Chargers wide receiver room. Keenan Allen has moved on. Obviously, Keenan Allen came in last year, took a ton of work from Ladd McConkey. Ladd kind of took a little bit of a step back. But now with new offensive coordinator, a retooled offensive line, getting some guys back from injury. Chargers offense is going to be dynamite this year, and Ladd McConkey is going to be at the center of it all. T. Higgins at wide receiver 20. Same thing as Jamar Chase. ⁓ I'd like to move him up around wide receiver 13, 14, but I bumped him down just a little bit just to be cautious of that slow start for the Bengals. Tet McMillan at wide receiver twenty-one. Luther Burden should be good to go, should be healthy for the Bears. Looking for a big year out of him and then Malik Neighbors. If I knew for sure he was going to be out there a hundred percent and he was good to go, I'd move him up way higher than twenty three. But to start the year feels like a very conservative, very accurate range to have him at that low end wide receiver too. And Terry McLaurin wraps up our wide receiver rankings. Taking a look over at the tight ends, we only did the top fifteen for this video. Maybe in future videos we'll extend that a little bit more, but You've got your big dogs here at the top, the guys that you drafted early. You can take them in any order that you want. They're gonna be there every week. It's gonna pretty much be these same four or five guys at the top every single week. You've got Bowers, Loveland, Warren, and McBride, followed by Fannon Jr., Laporta, likely is somebody that I'm very high on this year. I have him moved up quite a bit compared to a lot of other sites. Is specifically in week one, just because I think neighbors is gonna have a slow ramp up period these first few weeks, and I think likely is gonna get a ton of targets. Tucker Kraft coming back from that injury should be a top dog, maybe too low on him at eight. Juwan Johnson came on last year, very, very good for that Saints offense. It'll be interesting to see how they use him going forward again this year. Kyle Pitts, I'm I'm a little bit lower on than a lot of people. Obviously, had a big year last year, a very solid year for the Falcons. New coaching staff, new quarterbacks, a lot of new there in Atlanta. He comes off of that big contract extension this offseason. They obviously paid him. They want to use him. But to start the season, I'll keep him at the low end tight end one. Travis Kelsey, father time, is at tight end number eleven. This is a guy that was a top five tight end last year. I mean, he's still got it. He may not be what he once was. He may not get viewed those elite numbers, but he should be out there. He should, you know. Have a very good chance of catching a touchdown against the Denver Broncos on Monday night. Dallas Goddard, Mark Andrews, Jake Ferguson, and Hunter Henry. I'd like to put George Kittle on there, but we just haven't seen him. We don't know if he's going to be out there yet or not, as of the recording of this video. So I can't put him on there. And that also reminds me in the wide receiver rankings, Omeka Abuka, still not sure with that toe injury. So I didn't put him on that list. There's a couple other guys throughout the rankings that I forgot to mention. But just with those injuries, just the timing of this recording, still haven't. officially heard things yet, so I can't throw them on the rankings yet. But stay tuned. Keep checking those injury reports. Make sure your guys are good to go for week one. And I will catch you guys on the next video. See ya.
