- 0:09Speaker 1: Ye, hey, lover, no no, no, lover, no lo and
- 0:13Speaker 1: no welcome do the naughty but nice show. I'm your host,
- 0:16Speaker 1: Rob Shooter, and is Wednesday. It is Wednesday. Normally, our
- 0:19Speaker 1: dear friend Donnie Meacham joins us every Wednesday. He barely
- 0:23Speaker 1: misses a show. But he's seek today, So Donnie, I
- 0:26Speaker 1: know you're listening. Feel better, my friend. I've got an
- 0:29Speaker 1: emergency text from Donnie. He's always so sorry when he
- 0:33Speaker 1: can't do a show, and he was like, I can
- 0:35Speaker 1: probably do it. I'm not well. I was like, no, no, no, no, no,
- 0:39Speaker 1: have a day off. Relax. He's lying in bed today
- 0:42Speaker 1: doing nothing. So Donnie, I know you're listening. A lower lower, low,
- 0:46Speaker 1: rest up and enjoy the next twenty minutes. We are
- 0:49Speaker 1: going to be just fine, and we are thinking about you. Okay,
- 0:52Speaker 1: let's jump in to the show. What time is it,
- 0:55Speaker 1: my friends? It is tea time. Did you sing along?
- 0:58Speaker 1: I know you did? Thank you, Thank you. I can
- 1:01Speaker 1: always rely on you to help me out. We've created
- 1:04Speaker 1: such a lovely little community here, haven't we. We've got
- 1:07Speaker 1: each other's backs, and I think that's a really important
- 1:11Speaker 1: thing in life. My friends have my back, do yours?
- 1:16Speaker 1: It's been something that I struggled with because I want
- 1:19Speaker 1: people who will defend me when I'm not in the room,
- 1:23Speaker 1: not gossip about me, but defend me. And I do
- 1:26Speaker 1: that too. If I'm out with somebody and you say
- 1:29Speaker 1: something a little naughty about Donnie or Misty, I defend them.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I do. It's so easy in life to just go along,
- 1:37Speaker 1: to just agree with whatever you're told to not maybe
- 1:40Speaker 1: not to put up too much of a resistance. I don't.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I stop now, and I'm like, I disagree. I think
- 1:45Speaker 1: they're great, and I think you are great too. Okay,
- 1:48Speaker 1: what are we talking about today? Big story out of Paris.
- 1:52Speaker 1: So the Paris restaurant has responded to Serena Williams after
- 1:58Speaker 1: she and her kids would deny a table. They are
- 2:01Speaker 1: saying we were fully booked. So. In a recent social
- 2:05Speaker 1: media post Tennis Icon, Serena Williams accused the luxury rooftop
- 2:12Speaker 1: of the restaurant at the Peninsula Paris That's a really
- 2:16Speaker 1: fancy hotel for turning her and her children away, despite
- 2:20Speaker 1: she claims the venue was quote empty now. Serena, who's
- 2:26Speaker 1: forty two, took to x formerly Twitter to express her
- 2:29Speaker 1: frustration writeing quote yikes at Peninsula Paris, so they got
- 2:35Speaker 1: to see this, She tagged them. She wanted them to
- 2:38Speaker 1: see this. I've been denied access to rooftop to eat
- 2:43Speaker 1: in a empty restaurant, of nicer places, but never with
- 2:47Speaker 1: my kids, always a verse, and then she accompanied that
- 2:54Speaker 1: with the hashtag Olympics twenty twenty four. Well, now the
- 2:58Speaker 1: Peninsula saw this, and they responded to the twenty three
- 3:02Speaker 1: time Grand Slam winner by explaining what was happening at
- 3:07Speaker 1: the restaurant. They said that we have the utmost admiration
- 3:12Speaker 1: and respect for you, and we do for all our
- 3:15Speaker 1: esteemed guests, and we really do apologize, deeply apologize that
- 3:20Speaker 1: we were not able to offer her a table at
- 3:23Speaker 1: our rooftop bar when she arrived with her family without
- 3:26Speaker 1: a reservation. They pointed that out without a reservation, we
- 3:30Speaker 1: always try to make space for walking guests, but sometimes
- 3:35Speaker 1: this is not possible. So what's going on here is
- 3:39Speaker 1: Serena turned up without a reservation, wasn't allowed in, and
- 3:43Speaker 1: then he's angry about it. Now my friends are telling
- 3:46Speaker 1: me this is not the first time Serena's done this. Now,
- 3:49Speaker 1: being a superstar, being famous gives you lots of perks.
- 3:53Speaker 1: You often can walk into restaurants places without reservations and
- 3:57Speaker 1: get a great table or a great ticket to a show.
- 4:00Speaker 1: What about all the people that do have to play
- 4:02Speaker 1: by the rules? What about you and me? I can't
- 4:05Speaker 1: just walk into the peninsula and get a table and
- 4:07Speaker 1: get this say that I reserved a table. I made
- 4:10Speaker 1: a reservation. It was a special occasion, a friend's birthday party,
- 4:14Speaker 1: and I turned up and they'd given my table to
- 4:16Speaker 1: Serena Williams. It's not right. Remember there's a limited number
- 4:22Speaker 1: of tables, chairs in a restaurant, in a bar, and
- 4:25Speaker 1: once they're all full, it's full. It's like getting on
- 4:28Speaker 1: an airplane. If it's full, it's full, or going to
- 4:31Speaker 1: the theater if it's sold out, it is sold out.
- 4:33Speaker 1: So why should there be different rules for Serena? And
- 4:37Speaker 1: why mention her children? Why drag her children into this?
- 4:40Speaker 1: It wasn't like she got denied because her children were
- 4:43Speaker 1: with her. Is that what she's implying. No, you got
- 4:45Speaker 1: denied because you didn't make a reservation. They're annoying. I'd
- 4:50Speaker 1: love to be able to walk into any restaurant at
- 4:52Speaker 1: any time, sit down and have a great meal, I'd
- 4:54Speaker 1: love to be able to do that, but that certainly
- 4:56Speaker 1: isn't how the world works, particularly here in New York.
- 4:59Speaker 1: You have to make a reservation. Now. If I walk
- 5:03Speaker 1: into a restaurant and it's empty, empty, and I say,
- 5:07Speaker 1: can I have a table, I don't have a reservation,
- 5:10Speaker 1: sometimes they still say no because they have a lot
- 5:13Speaker 1: of reservations coming in very shortly. So if I walk
- 5:16Speaker 1: into a restaurant at seven and it's empty, but at
- 5:19Speaker 1: seven point fifteen it's totally sold out, it's fully booked,
- 5:22Speaker 1: they have to honor the reservations first. So I dare
- 5:26Speaker 1: say here that I think Serena's been a little bit entitled.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I can't believe ay that she made a big fuss
- 5:33Speaker 1: about this. We would never have known about it if
- 5:37Speaker 1: she hadn't taken to social media. So she wanted She
- 5:41Speaker 1: wanted the backlash here, she wanted a debate here. However,
- 5:44Speaker 1: what she didn't expect is the Peninsula to respond with
- 5:48Speaker 1: their side of the story. I'm glad they did. I'm
- 5:51Speaker 1: glad they did. I don't think they did anything wrong.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I know that every effort was made to get her
- 5:57Speaker 1: a table. I've been in the celebrity busines. This a
- 6:00Speaker 1: long time. I've seen the perks have been with celebrities.
- 6:03Speaker 1: When I was working with jal O, Jessica Simpson, Bon Jovi,
- 6:06Speaker 1: Alicia Keys, we could walk into anywhere and they'd always
- 6:09Speaker 1: try and normally succeed to make room for them, not
- 6:12Speaker 1: for me. And that's the mistake people make too. You're
- 6:15Speaker 1: not the star. You could be the friend of the star,
- 6:17Speaker 1: or the husband of the star, or the wife of
- 6:19Speaker 1: the star, but you're not the star. So the star
- 6:21Speaker 1: has to be with you. So whenever I walk into
- 6:22Speaker 1: a restaurant with a big celebrity, it's fantastic normally, but
- 6:25Speaker 1: I don't expect that always to be the case. If
- 6:30Speaker 1: I walk into a restaurant and they're sold out, they
- 6:32Speaker 1: can't do anything. If I went to try and see
- 6:35Speaker 1: a Broadway show Hamilton with the celebrity and there was
- 6:38Speaker 1: no seats, they can't just invent a seat, just put
- 6:41Speaker 1: a seat into the theater. Book ahead, these are the rules.
- 6:45Speaker 1: These are the rules of civilized society. Make a reservation
- 6:50Speaker 1: when it's a special occasion, when it's a birthday party,
- 6:52Speaker 1: I always make a reservation for me, my friends, Bruce,
- 6:56Speaker 1: my family, and occasionally when I did sneak into a
- 6:59Speaker 1: restaurant try just like, oh there might be a chance
- 7:02Speaker 1: I'm hungry, or I'd love to just pop in there
- 7:03Speaker 1: and get a cup of tea. I always expect and
- 7:06Speaker 1: respect when the answer is no. Serena was not having that,
- 7:10Speaker 1: and people are now saying that she's really, really entitled,
- 7:14Speaker 1: which brings us to our pole question of the day.
- 7:16Speaker 1: A Paris restaurant has responded to Serena Williams after she
- 7:20Speaker 1: and her kids were denied a table because they were
- 7:23Speaker 1: fully booked. They were not just denied go away. No,
- 7:26Speaker 1: we don't want you know. That was not the case.
- 7:28Speaker 1: They were fully booked there in a room. Does she
- 7:31Speaker 1: want special treatment? I think we know the answer. Don't
- 7:35Speaker 1: forget to vote unto Dee's pool, go to in a
- 7:38Speaker 1: page at Naughty nine Rob or a Facebook page which
- 7:41Speaker 1: is Naughty Gossip, and be sure to check back tomorrow
- 7:45Speaker 1: for your results. Blick Lively, who's out there doing a
- 7:48Speaker 1: lot of press. She's normally quite private, but she has
- 7:50Speaker 1: a movie out, so she's doing a ton of press,
- 7:53Speaker 1: and she opens up about feeling like a guilty mom, saying, quote,
- 7:57Speaker 1: I feel guilty for working instead of spending time with
- 8:00Speaker 1: my family. So in a heartfelt revelation, Blake Lively, who's
- 8:05Speaker 1: the star of the new movie It Ends with Us,
- 8:07Speaker 1: did you read the book. I haven't read it. I
- 8:09Speaker 1: just worded it. I went on Amazon today and it's
- 8:11Speaker 1: back in the top ten. It's meant to be fantastic.
- 8:14Speaker 1: While she turned this great novel into a movie, she's
- 8:18Speaker 1: doing press about it, and she talked about struggling to
- 8:22Speaker 1: balance her demanding career and her home life. She's thirty
- 8:25Speaker 1: six years old, and she admitted that she often feels
- 8:28Speaker 1: a sense of guilt when her work takes precedent over
- 8:32Speaker 1: her family time. She was talking to Entertainment tonight and
- 8:35Speaker 1: she said the following quote. We love our work, and
- 8:38Speaker 1: we take it very very seriously, and we work very,
- 8:42Speaker 1: very very hard, and we completely immerse ourselves in our work. However,
- 8:48Speaker 1: she emphasized the importance of her personal life, adding, but
- 8:53Speaker 1: who we are is defined by our personal lives, so
- 8:59Speaker 1: so much more than work. We can be both of
- 9:05Speaker 1: these things at once, So you can do both. I
- 9:08Speaker 1: think the mistake a lot of people make, not just celebrities,
- 9:11Speaker 1: is thinking they are their job. I've done that. Oh
- 9:13Speaker 1: my goodness, when I was a publicist. I was a
- 9:15Speaker 1: twenty four hour, seven day a week, fifty two day
- 9:20Speaker 1: a year publicist. It was my priority. I'm ashamed to
- 9:23Speaker 1: admit it. That's what I took my identity as. That's
- 9:27Speaker 1: who I thought I was. It wasn't It was a job.
- 9:30Speaker 1: What you do is what you do, it's not who
- 9:33Speaker 1: you are. Now. Celebrities really struggle with this because what
- 9:37Speaker 1: they do is so extraordinary, people cheering and shouting, screaming
- 9:41Speaker 1: their names and all the fans, and it can easily
- 9:44Speaker 1: become a life. I have seen this happen to a
- 9:46Speaker 1: lot of celebrities where their career is their hobby. All
- 9:50Speaker 1: they do is talk about themselves. This is why it's
- 9:52Speaker 1: a mistake to think you want to be friends with
- 9:55Speaker 1: the celebrity. It seems glamorous and fun until you have
- 9:59Speaker 1: to have dinner with them, and all they do is
- 10:02Speaker 1: talk about themselves constantly. Think of a friend of yours,
- 10:07Speaker 1: a narcissistic friend of yours, who always just talks about themselves,
- 10:11Speaker 1: never asks you a question, never checks in, how are
- 10:13Speaker 1: you doing, what's going on in your life? Oh? How interesting?
- 10:17Speaker 1: Tell me about this? No, no, No. Celebrities badly and
- 10:21Speaker 1: I've done. A lot of them love to talk about themselves,
- 10:25Speaker 1: to the point that when they go to the bathroom,
- 10:27Speaker 1: everyone at the table just sits in silence, like, oh gosh,
- 10:31Speaker 1: can we just have a minute when we don't talk
- 10:34Speaker 1: about them or their creer, or how amazing they are,
- 10:38Speaker 1: how brilliant they are, how handsome they are, what a
- 10:40Speaker 1: great singer they are. It is exhauting bead friends with
- 10:44Speaker 1: the celebrity. Often two celebrities don't remember your birthdays. They
- 10:47Speaker 1: don't remember to say happy birthday because it's not their birthday.
- 10:49Speaker 1: But on their birthday you have to go crazy with excitement.
- 10:54Speaker 1: So just here, I think what Blake is getting there,
- 10:56Speaker 1: And I love that she's talking about this. The fact
- 10:58Speaker 1: she's talking about it tells me she's fine. The people
- 11:01Speaker 1: that don't talk about it are the ones that need help.
- 11:03Speaker 1: If you're aware that there is a balance between your
- 11:06Speaker 1: personal life and your work life, your business and your
- 11:09Speaker 1: personal If you're aware that there's a balance, you've already
- 11:12Speaker 1: won because you're thinking about it. I found that the
- 11:15Speaker 1: people that don't even think about it, they're the ones.
- 11:19Speaker 1: They're the ones that are in trouble. Get this, it's
- 11:21Speaker 1: even worse. What happens when your personal life becomes your
- 11:24Speaker 1: business life. How many celebrities have we seen who hire
- 11:28Speaker 1: their boyfriends, their girlfriends, their wives, their husbands, their daughters,
- 11:33Speaker 1: their sons, Like, don't do it, because then this is
- 11:36Speaker 1: the problem with the Royal family. Their personal life is
- 11:40Speaker 1: their business life. There's no separation. Being a Royal is
- 11:43Speaker 1: a twenty four hour job. That's all they talk about.
- 11:46Speaker 1: When they're alone at bellmarl Over over the summer vacation,
- 11:49Speaker 1: they will talk about the Royals. No, you need to
- 11:53Speaker 1: get away from your work and Blake and Ryan Reynolds
- 11:58Speaker 1: know how to do this. And feeling a little guilty
- 12:00Speaker 1: about it not a bad thing. I often feel guilty
- 12:03Speaker 1: about stuff. It makes me think feeling guilty is a
- 12:05Speaker 1: good emotion. Guilty is not a bad emotion because it's
- 12:08Speaker 1: a lighthouse. It tells you what you want, it tells
- 12:11Speaker 1: you where you should be heading. So Blake, thank you
- 12:14Speaker 1: very much. Okay, moving along, We've got some scary new
- 12:17Speaker 1: details about zac Efron being hospitalized after a swimming incident
- 12:21Speaker 1: in Ibeefa. So he's back now in Miami, trying to
- 12:24Speaker 1: keep a low profile. He returned from Spain being hospitalized
- 12:28Speaker 1: in Spain. He's in Miami. I saw some photographs of
- 12:31Speaker 1: him arriving. He tried to keep sort of a low profile,
- 12:34Speaker 1: but it was definitely him. He had a huge entourage
- 12:36Speaker 1: with him and we spotted them leaving a private flight
- 12:40Speaker 1: and then going to a private home in Miami, a
- 12:43Speaker 1: fancy home there. However, while he was in Ibeefa, now
- 12:45Speaker 1: we're finding out some terrifying details that during a swim
- 12:49Speaker 1: an incident a card. It was a dive that went wrong,
- 12:53Speaker 1: so he was diving and this caused him to hit
- 12:56Speaker 1: the bottom of the pool and then he ingested a
- 12:58Speaker 1: significant amount of water to his lungs. Thankfully, he was
- 13:01Speaker 1: with friends who dragged him out immediately and got him
- 13:05Speaker 1: to a hospital. He showed signs of distress. His two
- 13:09Speaker 1: friends working on site quickly quickly got him out of
- 13:13Speaker 1: the pool. Then he was transported to a local hospital
- 13:17Speaker 1: as a precautionary measure. Now, the reason this story is
- 13:19Speaker 1: blowing up is that Zach has a very troubled past.
- 13:22Speaker 1: He's been honest about this. He has really really struggled
- 13:25Speaker 1: with demons. We know he likes to party, and so
- 13:27Speaker 1: now people are wondering was he drunk, was he high?
- 13:31Speaker 1: Is this a Matthew Perry almost situation. Member Matthew passed
- 13:34Speaker 1: out and died in a hot tub in his home,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and so people are worried about Zach again. I spoke
- 13:40Speaker 1: to some of his friends and they said, it's always
- 13:41Speaker 1: a concern with somebody that's in recovery, it's always a
- 13:44Speaker 1: concern that they're going to relap. Now I'm told that
- 13:47Speaker 1: was not the case. It was a simple accident and
- 13:51Speaker 1: thankfully he was with his friends. Drugs, alcohol were not
- 13:54Speaker 1: involved in this. But he does bring up the past,
- 13:57Speaker 1: and so that's why I think we're all focused on this.
- 14:00Speaker 1: We're all worried about this, Zach. We are wishing you, honestly,
- 14:04Speaker 1: the best, the best, the best, the best. Okay, moving along,
- 14:07Speaker 1: Simone Bials blasted for bowing down to the Brazilian Olympic gymnasts.
- 14:13Speaker 1: So in a stunning display of I think sportsmanship, Simone
- 14:16Speaker 1: and her teammate Jordan bound down to the Brazilian gymnast
- 14:20Speaker 1: Rebecca and Rade after she won gold in the floor
- 14:25Speaker 1: finals at the Olympics. However, a lot of people are
- 14:27Speaker 1: not happy about this. A Baltimore Ravens corner back. Now,
- 14:33Speaker 1: I think I've got that right. Is it quarterback? Is
- 14:35Speaker 1: it cornerback? Marion Humphrey. I don't follow sports. I don't
- 14:38Speaker 1: know who this guy is, but he took two X
- 14:41Speaker 1: form only known as Twitter to express his disapproval, saying, quote,
- 14:46Speaker 1: this is literally disgusting now. Simone defended her actions on
- 14:50Speaker 1: the Today Show, saying I don't care whether I win
- 14:52Speaker 1: or lose. I will always support my competitors because they
- 14:56Speaker 1: work just as hard as I do, and I have
- 14:59Speaker 1: to give them their flowers, give them their flowers. I
- 15:01Speaker 1: love that Miley Cyrus song, Don't you give them their flowers?
- 15:04Speaker 1: Baring down to somebody saying congratulations. It's not pathetic, it's
- 15:09Speaker 1: not disgusting. It's really really cool. I'm totally on team Simoon. Here, okay,
- 15:16Speaker 1: we're going to take a quick break and we will
- 15:17Speaker 1: be right back. Welcome back to the Naughty but Nic
- 15:22Speaker 1: Sha'm the host Robshoot of Donnie's After Date. Donnie, we
- 15:24Speaker 1: are missing you. Ala'a LaAlO. Okay, let's get to the
- 15:28Speaker 1: poles d D. Last year, we talked about Victoria Cannell.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Now you might not know her. She's a young singer,
- 15:34Speaker 1: but there was wild speculation that she was dating Tom Cruise.
- 15:37Speaker 1: She shut down the rumors, said, it's not true. We've
- 15:41Speaker 1: met each other. I know him, he's nice. She even
- 15:44Speaker 1: said that he's like a dad. So we definitely know
- 15:46Speaker 1: there's no sexual vibes. They're no romantic vibes. If you
- 15:50Speaker 1: call somebody your dad, then it's probably not going to
- 15:54Speaker 1: turn into your boyfriend fingers crossed. And so she's saying
- 15:57Speaker 1: she absolutely is not with tom. But she was literally
- 15:59Speaker 1: gone smacked. She woke up and saw everybody buzzing about this,
- 16:03Speaker 1: and she said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 16:05Speaker 1: we are not together. Our question was, would you shut
- 16:07Speaker 1: down rumors that you were dating Tommy? If people said
- 16:11Speaker 1: you were dating Tom Cruise, would you shut down those rumors?
- 16:15Speaker 1: What are basically asking here is if you like the person.
- 16:18Speaker 1: If people say that you're dating Brad Pitt, you'd be like, oh, yes,
- 16:21Speaker 1: maybe I am. But if people say you're dating somebody
- 16:24Speaker 1: that you don't really really like, somebody that is just
- 16:28Speaker 1: an awful human bead like that, Like I got like
- 16:32Speaker 1: an Ali Baldwin. If somebody says you're dated Ali Baldwin,
- 16:34Speaker 1: you probably gonna been oh no no, no, absolutely no,
- 16:36Speaker 1: no no. What do you think here would you shut
- 16:38Speaker 1: down rumors that you were dating Tommy or eighty percent
- 16:41Speaker 1: said yes. You do not want people thinking you were
- 16:44Speaker 1: dating tom Cruise. I agree, I agree, not a good look. Okay,
- 16:49Speaker 1: don't forget to vote on today's poem. Go to Twitter
- 16:52Speaker 1: page and not if your nice rob or a Facebook
- 16:54Speaker 1: page which is naughty gossip. I'll be sure to check
- 16:58Speaker 1: back tomorrowwa to hear your results. And now it's time
- 17:02Speaker 1: for the nicest of the day. Thank you. The nicest
- 17:08Speaker 1: of the day is Jessica Simpson, who is shutting down
- 17:10Speaker 1: rumors that she's drinking again. I used to work for
- 17:12Speaker 1: jess She's really cool. Of all the celebrities, and I
- 17:14Speaker 1: know I tell you not to be friends with celebrities,
- 17:16Speaker 1: I know, I know, I know, I go on about it,
- 17:18Speaker 1: maybe a little bit too much. Jessica was the exception.
- 17:21Speaker 1: She was fabulous. Oh. I used to really enjoy when
- 17:24Speaker 1: should email me, call me, would go for a drink,
- 17:26Speaker 1: we'd go out for dinner. Always fun, never talked about herself,
- 17:30Speaker 1: was interested in the world, was interested in you. Really,
- 17:32Speaker 1: I'd say the coolest celebrity I ever met is Jessica Simpson.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I also reapped Ashley her sister not so nice. Ashley
- 17:38Speaker 1: was hard work. Jessica is just a delight. Well, she
- 17:41Speaker 1: was accused of drinking again. Somebody, a random person on
