  Speaker 1: I come to you in prayer to be able to

  Speaker 1: have the Holy Spirit be able to speak through this mic,

  Speaker 1: go through the listeners' ears and be able to reach
• 0:17
  Speaker 1: their hearts and minds and be able to apply these
• 0:20
  Speaker 1: verses to their lives. In the Lord Jesus Christ's name,
• 0:23
  Speaker 1: I pray, amen. And I say to the listeners, not
• 0:28
  Speaker 1: only for you, but me as well. Because when the
• 0:31
  Speaker 1: Spirit is speaking, I listen as well. So this Bible
• 0:34
  Speaker 1: study is not only for you, it's for me. And
• 0:38
  Speaker 1: let's dive into Mark chapter 9. If you want to
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: go ahead and grab your Bibles or get on your

  Speaker 1: Bible app and read along as you hear along, or

  Speaker 1: I highly encourage if you do not do that, please

  Speaker 1: put all distractions aside and to be able to obtain
• 0:55
  Speaker 1: this information. And I really want you to Keep an
• 1:00
  Speaker 1: open mind and keep an open heart as well. Don't
• 1:03
  Speaker 1: lean on your own thoughts or even your own emotions.
• 1:07
  Speaker 1: Just bear with me because there's going to be something
• 1:10
  Speaker 1: in this chapter through the first 15 verses that's going
• 1:15
  Speaker 1: to resonate with you. I promise you that. You don't
• 1:19
  Speaker 1: have to trust me full-heartedly, but please promise me on that.
• 1:22
  Speaker 1: Because there's somebody that's listening. There's somebody that's listening that's
• 1:27
  Speaker 1: very curious about to what God can really do. And
• 1:31
  Speaker 1: we're going to learn by reading the Bible exactly how
• 1:35
  Speaker 1: that can be done in your life today. So Mark
• 1:38
  Speaker 1: chapter nine, verse one, and it is titled three disciples.
• 1:42
  Speaker 1: See how great Jesus is. Verse one, Jesus then said
• 1:46
  Speaker 1: to them, I tell you this, some people who are
• 1:50
  Speaker 1: standing here will see God begin to rule in his
• 1:54
  Speaker 1: kingdom with great power. They will see that before they die.
• 2:00
  Speaker 1: Six days after that, Jesus asked Peter, James, and John
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: to go with him. Jesus led them up a high
• 2:09
  Speaker 1: mountain where they were alone together. Peter, James, and John
• 2:14
  Speaker 1: saw Jesus change in front of them. His clothes became
• 2:19
  Speaker 1: very white. They were shining. Nobody on earth could wash
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: them and make them as white as that. And we're
• 2:28
  Speaker 1: talking about the Holy Spirit here. In these first three verses,
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: Jesus wanted to take these disciples and really show them
• 2:39
  Speaker 1: the glory of God by having that Holy Spirit be
• 2:43
  Speaker 1: able to transform him, which now, because Jesus did what
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: he did, praise God, We get to experience that same spirit.

  Speaker 1: And being that I've been following Christ full-heartedly the past
• 3:07
  Speaker 1: six months, been a believer for 20 years, there's been
• 3:11
  Speaker 1: a lot of things that I have seen that I
• 3:16
  Speaker 1: can make a whole other podcast about. But I am
• 3:20
  Speaker 1: a walking testimony to the grace of God. Because I
• 3:26
  Speaker 1: ran away from it. And I was a rebel. For
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: Satan himself. And that does not mean that I was
• 3:33
  Speaker 1: a completely horrible person. But the decisions that I was
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: making were self-centered. And self-centeredness comes from being evil. Thinking
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: of just yourself. Only your perspective. Not listening to others.
• 3:46
  Speaker 1: I can continue to go down the line. Treating others poorly. And...
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: The truth of the matter is, this isn't about me.
• 4:01
  Speaker 1: This is the Ember Show. And the Ember Show is
• 4:06
  Speaker 1: to glorify God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I want
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: to let the listener know that I am just a
• 4:14
  Speaker 1: vessel for the Holy Spirit to use. And I say
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: use in a term to where it's not where I'm
• 4:22
  Speaker 1: getting abused. You can be used... in a healthy way,
• 4:27
  Speaker 1: to be a good example. I know how it feels
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: to be a bad example. I also know how it
• 4:33
  Speaker 1: feels to be betrayed. I know how it feels to
• 4:36
  Speaker 1: have a broken heart. I know how it feels to
• 4:39
  Speaker 1: feel left out. I know how it feels to be lonely,
• 4:43
  Speaker 1: but Jesus saved my consciousness, saved my soul, saved my mind.
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: from really going down the deep, deep, deep end. And
• 4:56
  Speaker 1: never turning back to Jesus was something that I just
• 5:00
  Speaker 1: couldn't see myself truly doing, even in my darkest days.
• 5:05
  Speaker 1: So when we're getting deeper into this, I want you
• 5:08
  Speaker 1: to understand what Jesus can do. Then, Elijah and Moses
• 5:14
  Speaker 1: appeared in front of the three disciples. Elijah and Moses
• 5:18
  Speaker 1: were talking with Jesus. So Peter said to Jesus, Teacher,
• 5:23
  Speaker 1: It is good that we are here. Please let us
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: build three huts. One hut will be for you. One
• 5:31
  Speaker 1: hut will be for Moses. And one hut will be
• 5:35
  Speaker 1: for Elijah. Peter did not really know what to say.
• 5:39
  Speaker 1: That was because the three disciples were very afraid. Then
• 5:44
  Speaker 1: a cloud appeared and it covered them all. A voice
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: spoke from the cloud and it said, This is my son,
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: and I love him. Listen to him. At that moment,
• 5:57
  Speaker 1: the three disciples looked around. They saw that nobody else
• 6:02
  Speaker 1: was there now. Only Jesus was there with them. While
• 6:07
  Speaker 1: they were walking down the mountain, Jesus said to the
• 6:10
  Speaker 1: three disciples, You must not tell anyone now about the
• 6:15
  Speaker 1: things that you have just seen. Do you see how
• 6:18
  Speaker 1: Jesus said now? Time management is something that I'm trying
• 6:23
  Speaker 1: to learn. Jesus is showing these particular disciples of his, right,
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: what the Spirit can really do. Why? I think that
• 6:40
  Speaker 1: Jesus only chose those three because Jesus seen their heart
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: and he knew that they could carry the message. Ooh,
• 6:48
  Speaker 1: let me go deep. Let me go deeper. Let me
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: tell you something right now. I have been never ashamed
• 7:01
  Speaker 1: of my relationship with Jesus, but there has been times
• 7:05
  Speaker 1: where I've been ashamed of my faith. I don't have
• 7:11
  Speaker 1: to deal with that today. I also don't have to
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: cram it down people's throats. Either it's the Bible or
• 7:18
  Speaker 1: Or what I believe in. I'm not necessarily a religious person.
• 7:23
  Speaker 1: I am a spiritual person. Walking with Jesus now is
• 7:28
  Speaker 1: the best decision I've ever made in my life. One
• 7:35
  Speaker 1: day the Son of Man will become alive again after
• 7:38
  Speaker 1: his death. Then you can tell people about these things.
• 7:42
  Speaker 1: So Jesus was telling them, not now. You have seen
• 7:47
  Speaker 1: what you have seen, but don't be going to tell everybody.
• 7:50
  Speaker 1: The three disciples kept these words secret, but they talked
• 7:55
  Speaker 1: together about the words. Become alive again after his death?
• 8:00
  Speaker 1: They asked each other, what does this mean? Then the
• 8:04
  Speaker 1: three disciples asked Jesus, why do the teachers of God's
• 8:10
  Speaker 1: law say that God's prophet Elijah must return first? Before
• 8:15
  Speaker 1: the Messiah comes. Jesus said to them. Elijah does come first.
• 8:22
  Speaker 1: He makes everything ready. But what is written in the
• 8:26
  Speaker 1: Bible about the son. But what is written in the
• 8:30
  Speaker 1: Bible about the son of man. It says that people
• 8:33
  Speaker 1: will cause him to suffer a lot. Let me repeat
• 8:37
  Speaker 1: that again. It says that people will cause him to
• 8:41
  Speaker 1: suffer a lot. They will think that he is nothing.
• 8:45
  Speaker 1: So how many times do we feel like we are nothing,
• 8:49
  Speaker 1: but we are children of God? Jesus has gone through this.
• 8:54
  Speaker 1: What we're encountering, whether it's on a daily basis, a
• 9:00
  Speaker 1: weekly basis, a monthly basis, there's been some time that
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: you have felt like nothing. But you're like Jesus. You're
• 9:11
  Speaker 1: not Jesus, but you are like Jesus. And you have
• 9:16
  Speaker 1: not only a testimony, but you are stronger than you
• 9:19
  Speaker 1: think sometimes. You're stronger than you feel sometimes. You forget
• 9:23
  Speaker 1: what you've already overcome. You don't realize how God's been
• 9:29
  Speaker 1: carrying you along the way. So I say this. I
• 9:35
  Speaker 1: say this because we all need to be reminded that
• 9:38
  Speaker 1: there's going to be Certain people that you're around, certain
• 9:42
  Speaker 1: places that you're in, and certain things that you are
• 9:44
  Speaker 1: doing that are going to make you feel like nothing.
• 9:50
  Speaker 1: Eliminate those things. Replace them with people, places, and things
• 9:57
  Speaker 1: that are going to bring you value. Let's go deeper.

  Speaker 1: But I tell you that Elijah has already... But I
• 10:12
  Speaker 1: tell you Elijah has already come... People did to him
• 10:16
  Speaker 1: everything they wanted to. The Bible already showed that those
• 10:21
  Speaker 1: things would happen to him. Jesus helps a boy who
• 10:26
  Speaker 1: has a bad spirit. How do I feel? Somebody really
• 10:34
  Speaker 1: is going to get something out of this. Including myself.
• 10:37
  Speaker 1: Because I was once a boy that had bad spirits.
• 10:40
  Speaker 1: Let's go deeper. They reached the place where the other
• 10:44
  Speaker 1: disciples were. They saw that there was a large crowd
• 10:48
  Speaker 1: with them. Some teachers of God's law were arguing with
• 10:54
  Speaker 1: the disciples. The people in the crowd saw Jesus, and
• 10:57
  Speaker 1: immediately they were very surprised. They ran to say hello
• 11:02
  Speaker 1: to Jesus. Jesus asked his disciples, What are you arguing
• 11:08
  Speaker 1: about with the teachers of God's law? A man in
• 11:12
  Speaker 1: the crowd answered, He said, Jesus, Teacher, I brought my
• 11:16
  Speaker 1: son to you. He is not able to speak because
• 11:19
  Speaker 1: he has a bad spirit in him. When the bad
• 11:24
  Speaker 1: spirit takes a hold of him, it throws him to
• 11:28
  Speaker 1: the ground. Water comes out of his mouth and he
• 11:33
  Speaker 1: bites his teeth together. Then his body stops moving. I
• 11:37
  Speaker 1: asked your disciples to send the spirit out of him,
• 11:42
  Speaker 1: but they were not able to do it. Jesus replied,
• 11:45
  Speaker 1: and this I will close out. Jesus replied, you people
• 11:49
  Speaker 1: today still do not believe in God. Before I get
• 11:53
  Speaker 1: into a deeper, right, like, so Jesus is telling them
• 11:56
  Speaker 1: and the disciples, you still don't believe in God because
• 11:59
  Speaker 1: in order for a miracle to work, the believer has
• 12:03
  Speaker 1: to believe and the one that's performing the miracle has
• 12:06
  Speaker 1: to believe. If one or both are not in a line, bam,
• 12:13
  Speaker 1: nothing's going to happen. Let me tell you why. I
• 12:16
  Speaker 1: have been with you for a long time. And still
• 12:19
  Speaker 1: you do not believe. It is difficult for me to
• 12:22
  Speaker 1: be patient with you. Bring the boy to me. So
• 12:25
  Speaker 1: at this point, Jesus is like, let me just do it.
• 12:27
  Speaker 1: Because you... Disciples, he's even getting a little upset at them, right? Like,
• 12:32
  Speaker 1: you have the authority. I've given you this. I've given
• 12:34
  Speaker 1: you that. I've told you this. I've shown you this
• 12:37
  Speaker 1: by my miracles. Right? So the people brought the boy...
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: to Jesus when the bad spirits saw Jesus. It immediately
• 12:46
  Speaker 1: caused the boy's body to shake strongly. These are the
• 12:50
  Speaker 1: demons leaving. The boy fell onto the ground and he
• 12:55
  Speaker 1: rolled about. Water was coming from his mouth. Jesus asked
• 12:59
  Speaker 1: the boy's father, how long has he been like this?
• 13:02
  Speaker 1: The father replied, he has been like this since he
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: was a small boy. Often the spirit's has caused him
• 13:10
  Speaker 1: to fall into the fire or into water. It is
• 13:14
  Speaker 1: trying to kill him. Please be kind to us. If
• 13:17
  Speaker 1: you can do anything, help us. Jesus said to the Father,
• 13:21
  Speaker 1: you should not say. If you can do anything, everything
• 13:27
  Speaker 1: is possible for those people who believe. You have to
• 13:35
  Speaker 1: believe in order to see. As I get here, it's
• 13:39
  Speaker 1: closing out, and we got to what? Verse 23. We
• 13:44
  Speaker 1: went a little further than I wanted to, but either way,
• 13:48
  Speaker 1: as I close out, in order to really understand God,
• 13:58
  Speaker 1: you must first believe. You cannot follow something if you
• 14:04
  Speaker 1: do not believe in it, if you're not passionate in it.
• 14:08
  Speaker 1: If you have no passion in whatever it is you do,
• 14:11
  Speaker 1: you're not going to spend a whole lot of time
• 14:12
  Speaker 1: on it. Getting into prayer, most important. Getting into the Bible,
• 14:20
  Speaker 1: very important. Praising Jesus is very important. And thanking God
• 14:25
  Speaker 1: and allowing the Holy Spirit to come in during all
• 14:28
  Speaker 1: of these trinities is a necessity. In order to see,
• 14:35
  Speaker 1: you first must believe. You will not see if you
• 14:38
  Speaker 1: do not believe. And it takes the faith of a
• 14:42
  Speaker 1: mustard seed. Very tiny, it's like that. And you have
• 14:47
  Speaker 1: to understand that. Just got to believe a little bit.
• 14:54
