- 1:12Speaker 5: who is not what he wants to be, but is
- 1:15Speaker 5: way grateful that is not who he used to be.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Here the welcome in.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Kevin mccaullaugh, Glad to have you with us. It's That
- 1:26Speaker 2: Kevin Show, that Kevinshow dot Com and friends. I need
- 1:31Speaker 2: to be honest with you. I am. I am very
- 1:35Speaker 2: excited about what we're doing by way of our partnership
- 1:38Speaker 2: with the Bible League. I'm very concerned about the rate
- 1:41Speaker 2: at which we're doing it. And what I mean by
- 1:43Speaker 2: that is we've got the biggest goal we've ever set
- 1:47Speaker 2: for Bibles. We want to get ten thousand Bibles into
- 1:50Speaker 2: the hands of ten thousand Christians who have asked for them,
- 1:54Speaker 2: that are that are in need of them. And it's
- 1:56Speaker 2: not all in one spot. It's three hundred bibles over here,
- 1:59Speaker 2: it's five hund bibles over there. It's fifty bibles for
- 2:02Speaker 2: this house church, it's one hundred and twenty bibles for
- 2:04Speaker 2: this underground church. Here, it's you know, ninety bibles for
- 2:07Speaker 2: a Bible study of former Muslims that were you know,
- 2:11Speaker 2: committing you know, honor crimes and stuff before and now
- 2:14Speaker 2: they've found Jesus and they've repented, but they need they
- 2:16Speaker 2: need the Bible to help them grow. So it's a
- 2:19Speaker 2: it's a variety of needs that are intense everywhere they are,
- 2:24Speaker 2: but ten thousand is what they all add up to
- 2:27Speaker 2: when we put them all together. And friends, we're not
- 2:30Speaker 2: keeping pace right now with where we want to be
- 2:32Speaker 2: by the end of the campaign. And so I'm just
- 2:35Speaker 2: going to ask you to lean in a little harder,
- 2:37Speaker 2: listen a little more closely, and we're going to try
- 2:40Speaker 2: to tell you stories that truly matter about why these
- 2:43Speaker 2: Bibles are so important. And when I say we, I
- 2:46Speaker 2: mean myself and Michael Woolworth, who is back with us
- 2:49Speaker 2: from Bible League headquarters in the middle of the country.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Bible League's an organization, Michael, that's been around for eighty
- 2:56Speaker 2: nine years. And for people that are joining us for
- 3:00Speaker 2: the first time right now, they hear the word Bible League,
- 3:03Speaker 2: what should they take away from that word?
- 3:05Speaker 7: Well, Kevin, great to be with you, and you know,
- 3:07Speaker 7: I love your enthusiasm. You share our burden, you share
- 3:10Speaker 7: the excitement that we have. You know, the Gods are
- 3:12Speaker 7: working around the world through his word, and that's why
- 3:15Speaker 7: there's this incredible need for God's word. I mean, we'll
- 3:17Speaker 7: we'll talk about some of the other factors that weigh
- 3:20Speaker 7: in on this, but again, and I can't say enough
- 3:23Speaker 7: about this listening family. Over about twenty five years of
- 3:26Speaker 7: Kingdom partnership, you know, hundreds of thousands of waiting believers
- 3:30Speaker 7: who had no hope of a Bible now have God's worth.
- 3:33Speaker 7: They're using those Bibles to make much of Him, to
- 3:35Speaker 7: point others to the hope of the Gospel. And as
- 3:38Speaker 7: you say, you know, sometimes you know, we just need
- 3:41Speaker 7: to ask listeners. You know, we're talking to you. We're
- 3:43Speaker 7: talking with you about what God is doing and inviting
- 3:46Speaker 7: you to be a part of this. As you say,
- 3:47Speaker 7: fifty here, five hundred, over there, a thousand in this
- 3:51Speaker 7: first story that we'll cover from Malawi, Africa. But again,
- 3:54Speaker 7: Bible League is all about its engaging people in the
- 3:58Speaker 7: Word of God. There's plenty. We have great Christian ministries
- 4:01Speaker 7: all over the world to do nothing more than provide
- 4:03Speaker 7: a Bible right, but Bible League is all about engagement.
- 4:06Speaker 7: We connect with the under resource church around the world.
- 4:09Speaker 7: Let me tell you what doesn't define the under resource church.
- 4:12Speaker 7: They lack no love for the Lord, no zeal. They
- 4:15Speaker 7: lack no zeal to see people come to Christ. They
- 4:19Speaker 7: don't seek our pity. They're not asking for our protections
- 4:22Speaker 7: for the circumstances in which they live. They're simply under resources.
- 4:27Speaker 7: Under resource in the sense that what God has them
- 4:30Speaker 7: planting in places where it's difficult to live out your faith.
- 4:33Speaker 7: And Kevin, I know it's tempting this great, big world
- 4:35Speaker 7: of ours to think, Okay, my five dollars gift, you're
- 4:38Speaker 7: saying five dollars a Bible, Kevin and Michael, Right, Really,
- 4:41Speaker 7: what kind of an impact does my five dollars gift
- 4:43Speaker 7: in this great, big world of ours actually have? Well,
- 4:46Speaker 7: the stories that we've shared over our couple of weeks together, right,
- 4:50Speaker 7: it all started with one Bible, somebody able to share
- 4:53Speaker 7: what's in that Bible, and as I love to say,
- 4:55Speaker 7: a gracious God willing to bring people from the grips
- 4:58Speaker 7: of spiritual darkness. So again, every story began with a
- 5:02Speaker 7: five dollars commitment that somebody made at some point, and
- 5:06Speaker 7: I wouldn't be surprised to it with somebody from you know,
- 5:08Speaker 7: that Kevin show or listening to WMCA. So again, Bible
- 5:12Speaker 7: League is all about engagement. And these are people that
- 5:15Speaker 7: we know by name of Bible League.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Kevin.
- 5:17Speaker 7: Every one of these men, women, children, in some cases,
- 5:20Speaker 7: they're members of our spiritual family. We never go into
- 5:23Speaker 7: a village, drop down a box of Bibles and pray
- 5:25Speaker 7: that there's takers. These are people that have said yes
- 5:28Speaker 7: to Jesus and they're waiting for a Bible and again
- 5:30Speaker 7: that's where Bible League steps in. The heavy lifting that
- 5:33Speaker 7: we've been tasked with for nearly ninety years as well,
- 5:36Speaker 7: is to provide that Bible the discipleship to get these
- 5:39Speaker 7: believers on their way and their walk with the Lord Jesus.
- 5:42Speaker 7: And again, from wherever you're listening today, wherever that might
- 5:45Speaker 7: be throughout you know, the greater New York City area
- 5:47Speaker 7: or somewhere in the US, you get to be a
- 5:50Speaker 7: part of it simply by stepping into the stories of
- 5:52Speaker 7: these believers. For the princely sum of only five dollars
- 5:55Speaker 7: a Bible.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Well, and I want to point out that thus far
- 6:00Speaker 2: you've helped us raise about five hundred Bibles, and you
- 6:04Speaker 2: were talking about the impact that each of them have.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Bible League knows in their eighty nine years because they've
- 6:12Speaker 2: taken a look at this. And you've told us many
- 6:15Speaker 2: times that a safe, conservative, verifiable number that is able
- 6:22Speaker 2: to be understood. For every Bible that's gone out, twelve
- 6:25Speaker 2: new believers have come to faith in Jesus. And so
- 6:29Speaker 2: you're talking about addition by multiplication again and again and
- 6:34Speaker 2: again and again. And I just want people to get
- 6:38Speaker 2: their head around this. The five hundred Bibles that have
- 6:40Speaker 2: gone out that will likely lead to the salvation of
- 6:44Speaker 2: nearly six thousand people. We're talking about maybe ten thousand
- 6:49Speaker 2: bibles that we're hoping to hit. That's going to be
- 6:53Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty thousand people if we get there.
- 6:56Speaker 2: So I want you to just know, because there's lots
- 6:59Speaker 2: of reasons why people ask you to give money to
- 7:02Speaker 2: causes or different interests that they have. If you have
- 7:06Speaker 2: a cynical mindset towards any of this, I'm sorry for you,
- 7:10Speaker 2: but you don't have anything to be cynical about. These
- 7:13Speaker 2: are real people that are in real situations where they
- 7:16Speaker 2: cannot get God's word and they certainly cannot get God's
- 7:21Speaker 2: word and printed in their language in their time, for
- 7:24Speaker 2: their hands, for their eyes, for their hearts, for their homes,
- 7:27Speaker 2: for their lives. This is what Bible League is about.
- 7:31Speaker 2: So we're at five hundred bibles, ninety five hundred bibles
- 7:34Speaker 2: to go. We'd love to get to a thousand bibles
- 7:36Speaker 2: today if that would be possible. That means another one
- 7:40Speaker 2: hundred bibles, another five hundred bibles just in the next
- 7:43Speaker 2: couple of hours. That would make a huge difference. Here's
- 7:46Speaker 2: the phone number one eight hundred yes word one eight
- 7:49Speaker 2: hundred y e s WRD. Now, let me just tell you,
- 7:53Speaker 2: if you have the ability to do something big for God,
- 7:57Speaker 2: if you're looking for ways of doing something that has
- 7:59Speaker 2: big impact, another five hundred bibles today would get us
- 8:04Speaker 2: to a thousand bibles total, and a thousand bibles would
- 8:07Speaker 2: give us one tenth of the way to our goal,
- 8:09Speaker 2: which would which would be a good start. But here's
- 8:12Speaker 2: the thing. It's a twenty five hundred dollars gift because
- 8:15Speaker 2: the bibles are that affordable, they're five dollars each. So
- 8:18Speaker 2: can you Maybe your company's looking for a way to
- 8:22Speaker 2: impact the world in a positive way. Maybe maybe you're
- 8:25Speaker 2: the pastor of a church it's been very burdened about
- 8:28Speaker 2: having more of a gospel witness to the world around you.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Maybe your small group has a bunch of people in
- 8:33Speaker 2: it that have been very successful this year, and you
- 8:35Speaker 2: could ban together and say, do a twenty five hundred
- 8:38Speaker 2: dollars gift and get the remaining five hundred bibles for
- 8:40Speaker 2: the ones we need today. That would be an amazing thing.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Can you be creative in even asking yourself, is there
- 8:48Speaker 2: a way that I can supply the bibles needed? One
- 8:52Speaker 2: hundred bibles is a five hundred dollars gift. What if
- 8:54Speaker 2: I gave one hundred dollars a month for the next
- 8:56Speaker 2: five months as a single donor, could I apply one
- 9:00Speaker 2: hundred bibles? Yeah, you could, It would be It would
- 9:02Speaker 2: be doable. What I'm asking you is to consider it.
- 9:06Speaker 2: What I'm asking you to do is to ask God
- 9:08Speaker 2: to show you what he wants you to do. If
- 9:10Speaker 2: you're married, talk to your spouse, talk to your kids,
- 9:13Speaker 2: get your family involved. Make this an effort that has
- 9:17Speaker 2: importance and significance to it in your mind and heart,
- 9:21Speaker 2: and that'll that'll communicate to the people that you that
- 9:24Speaker 2: you have contact with because you did that. One eight

- 10:08Speaker 1: Here, he is from New York. Kevin McCulloch.
- 10:20Speaker 2: All right, welcome back. It's Calvin mccalloch. It's Tuesday, and
- 10:23Speaker 2: glad to have you with us for this edition. We've
- 10:26Speaker 2: got a lot yet to get to on the show.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Here at the beginning, though, we always like to set
- 10:30Speaker 2: aside this time to kind of steady ourselves, root ourselves,
- 10:35Speaker 2: be grounded once again in the reality that as believers,
- 10:39Speaker 2: we are called to a different mission. We are called
- 10:42Speaker 2: to a different cause than those that don't believe around us,
- 10:47Speaker 2: and part of it is to live a life that's
- 10:49Speaker 2: different than them. And that's what we're talking about this
- 10:52Speaker 2: week as we ask the question, how do we live?
- 10:55Speaker 2: How do we live in a culture that hates God?
- 10:57Speaker 2: How do we live in a culture that may be
- 10:59Speaker 2: okay with a generic God in their mind, but when
- 11:02Speaker 2: you attach that God to the eternal Scripture, there suddenly
- 11:06Speaker 2: becomes a big objection to it. How do we live
- 11:10Speaker 2: in a culture where not only do they hate God
- 11:12Speaker 2: and really despise this word, but look at us with
- 11:15Speaker 2: some degree of suspicion. This is the context that we
- 11:19Speaker 2: live in. So how do we do that? Well? Jason
- 11:22Speaker 2: Warmon is back with us today and Jason is the
- 11:24Speaker 2: lead pastor at Coast Life Church in Florida, and Jason
- 11:28Speaker 2: we kicked off a very important study yesterday, and we're
- 11:33Speaker 2: talking about we kind of dug into what was at
- 11:36Speaker 2: John ten and and we're kind of dealing with this
- 11:40Speaker 2: idea that we first have to understand what life is
- 11:43Speaker 2: and what we're talking about when we use the word life.
- 11:47Speaker 2: And you mentioned there's a difference between existence, which is
- 11:52Speaker 2: kind of what I think a lot of us do
- 11:54Speaker 2: kind of on route most days. We get out, the
- 11:58Speaker 2: feet hit the floor, we turn the coffee maker on,
- 12:00Speaker 2: we yell at the kids, we make breakfast, we pack lunches,
- 12:03Speaker 2: we send them out, and kind of just the the
- 12:07Speaker 2: existing of life versus life, life, flourishing life, abundant life.
- 12:12Speaker 2: And I believe that that's what God came to give us,
- 12:15Speaker 2: to see us flourish as his creation. So where do
- 12:19Speaker 2: we take that discussion today?
- 12:21Speaker 8: Yeah, you know that's what Jesus literally he said, I've
- 12:25Speaker 8: come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.
- 12:28Speaker 8: And he was using the word in the Greek zoe,
- 12:31Speaker 8: which is a spiritual life. And we tend to live
- 12:35Speaker 8: our existence out of our biological reality, not recognizing that,
- 12:40Speaker 8: you know, we were born spiritually dead. But Jesus came
- 12:43Speaker 8: for the whole purpose that we could be awakened to
- 12:46Speaker 8: a new life, eternal life, spiritual life. And he said,
- 12:49Speaker 8: that's what I've come for, is that you might have
- 12:51Speaker 8: life and have an abundant and that abundance is found
- 12:55Speaker 8: in Christ. And that's why it's you know, it's almost
- 12:58Speaker 8: paradoxical when Ges this says in Matthew chapter ten, he goes, hey,
- 13:03Speaker 8: whoever wants to, whoever tries to find his life, will
- 13:06Speaker 8: lose it. But if you'll lose your life for my sake,
- 13:09Speaker 8: you'll find it. And when you talk about how do
- 13:12Speaker 8: we live in a culture, you know, we have a
- 13:13Speaker 8: culture that is fixated on the biological existence and the
- 13:18Speaker 8: ramifications of that are. You know, we have a culture
- 13:20Speaker 8: that says, hey, you need to find yourself. You need
- 13:24Speaker 8: to discover your truth, live your truth. You need to
- 13:27Speaker 8: follow your heart, even though the Bible says, you know,
- 13:30Speaker 8: the heart of them all things is deceitful. But the
- 13:32Speaker 8: culture says, follow your heart. And Jesus's message was this,
- 13:35Speaker 8: he was before John in Matthew ten thirty eight. He's like,
- 13:39Speaker 8: if you want to follow me, deny yourself, take up
- 13:41Speaker 8: your cross. And so the message of culture is find yourself,
- 13:44Speaker 8: live your truth, follow your heart. And the message of
- 13:47Speaker 8: Jesus is, hey, lose yourself, deny yourself, follow me. Because
- 13:52Speaker 8: the Christian life isn't found through self discovery. It's found
- 13:56Speaker 8: through self surrendered, when we surrender our life to Christ.
- 13:59Speaker 2: I got to do that us every now and then
- 14:00Speaker 2: pump the brakes right there, because that that is a
- 14:04Speaker 2: cataclysmic collision of two different ideas and they couldn't be
- 14:09Speaker 2: more opposite. And I really want to drill down on this.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I hear even Christians at times say, well, until I
- 14:17Speaker 2: really found myself, until I really understood who I was,
- 14:22Speaker 2: blah blah blah, I didn't have, you know, whatever I
- 14:24Speaker 2: was looking for in life. It's always kind of kind
- 14:28Speaker 2: of rubbed me wrong, kind of like hearing nails on
- 14:30Speaker 2: a chalkboard, right, because I'm going, but that's that's exactly
- 14:35Speaker 2: the opposite of what it is. Our identity essentially becomes
- 14:40Speaker 2: lost because his identity replaces it, and we don't really
- 14:44Speaker 2: want that identity anymore. If we had the if we
- 14:47Speaker 2: had the payoff of choosing one or the other, look
- 14:50Speaker 2: at the look at the cost benefit analysis. What do
- 14:53Speaker 2: you get with his identity versus yours right.
- 14:57Speaker 8: You know, that's the biblical term is redemned. And to
- 15:01Speaker 8: redeem something means to take it back to its original source,
- 15:04Speaker 8: like to its original value. And we have to recognize
- 15:08Speaker 8: there is a true us, but the way we're born
- 15:11Speaker 8: is a fallen version of us. And when we surrender that,
- 15:15Speaker 8: you know, what Christ came to do is to give
- 15:17Speaker 8: us an identity that was found in him, in the
- 15:20Speaker 8: God that created us. And when we're when we're trying
- 15:23Speaker 8: to desperately find that in ourselves, all we're left with
- 15:28Speaker 8: is is our own our own matter, our own brain,
- 15:31Speaker 8: our own our own feelings, our own emotive self. And
- 15:36Speaker 8: we ignore the spiritual side. And that's that's the essence
- 15:39Speaker 8: of our creation. We're not just we're not just bodies.
- 15:42Speaker 8: We were designed to be lived from the inside out
- 15:45Speaker 8: spirit through having a physical experience. And what you find
- 15:50Speaker 8: in culture is we've we've replaced the spiritual self with
- 15:54Speaker 8: the psychological self. And that's why people are like, you know,
- 15:58Speaker 8: who who am I instill of? Like who did God
- 16:01Speaker 8: create me to be? And then and then we start
- 16:04Speaker 8: we start looking inward, you know, like for our identity,
- 16:07Speaker 8: our peace, our joy or worth, our purpose and what
- 16:12Speaker 8: what the Bible does is it doesn't it's not an
- 16:15Speaker 8: it's not a road that leads us internal. It's a
- 16:17Speaker 8: it's an external road that goes, Hey, let's let's find
- 16:20Speaker 8: our identity, let's find our peace, let's find our joy,
- 16:23Speaker 8: our worth, our purpose, Let's find all of that in Christ,
- 16:27Speaker 8: not in ourselves. And when it's a there's a big
- 16:30Speaker 8: difference when we don't have the understanding of Christ. Is
- 16:34Speaker 8: I like to I say this all the time, but
- 16:35Speaker 8: there's no spiritual Switzerland, Like, there's no spiritually neutral place
- 16:39Speaker 8: in our rights.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Right.
- 16:41Speaker 8: If we don't have Christ in that seat, something else,
- 16:44Speaker 8: some other ideology, some you know, something else is going
- 16:47Speaker 8: to fill that vacuum.
- 16:48Speaker 2: And yet we have gone the other direction in the
- 16:51Speaker 2: modern age, Like we we study the inside of our
- 16:54Speaker 2: navels to the degree that we can tell you where
- 16:56Speaker 2: every cell is. It's just not it's not And I
- 17:00Speaker 2: don't think it's beneficial.
- 17:01Speaker 8: Well yeah, and I don't. I mean, I think you're
- 17:04Speaker 8: right on because if you look at the research, we
- 17:06Speaker 8: have more access to mental health than we've ever had,
- 17:09Speaker 8: and we have worse mental health than any generation before us.
- 17:13Speaker 8: Like it's it's because when you when you look inward.
- 17:18Speaker 8: It was Jesus who said, hey, it's my piece. And
- 17:22Speaker 8: you know Galatians five, joy is a fruit of the spirit.
- 17:26Speaker 8: It doesn't it doesn't come out of my will. It
- 17:29Speaker 8: comes to spiritual gifts that are spiritual fruit that grows.
- 17:32Speaker 6: In my life.
- 17:33Speaker 8: And I mean, we certainly know righteousness doesn't come from us.
- 17:36Speaker 8: It comes from Christ. And everybody wants to be virtuous
- 17:39Speaker 8: and righteous, and it's like, well, that's not in us,
- 17:41Speaker 8: that's that's in Christ. And when you when you remove Christ,
- 17:45Speaker 8: all you have are your emotions, which is why emotivism,
- 17:49Speaker 8: which is when we define what is moral based on
- 17:51Speaker 8: how we feel. That's why that's become the new religion
- 17:54Speaker 8: of the age. And doctor Peter Creef was summarizing k
- 18:00Speaker 8: Chesters and they said, when when a culture loses its
- 18:02Speaker 8: larger moral framework, compassion and tolerance become the only virtues
- 18:07Speaker 8: that are left. So we we go after what makes
- 18:10Speaker 8: us feel good. We don't go after what challenges us
- 18:12Speaker 8: to grow in Christ, dig deep into finding peace and
- 18:15Speaker 8: joy and something that's bigger than ourselves, which was the
- 18:18Speaker 8: whole message of Jesus, like, hey, find something greater. He's
- 18:21Speaker 8: the one that's greater. He's the one that he's the
- 18:23Speaker 8: pearl of great price, you know, he's the He's the
- 18:26Speaker 8: treasure hidden in the field. Like we sell everything we
- 18:29Speaker 8: have so we can find Christ and then that we
- 18:31Speaker 8: find our life.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Well, so let's talk about this replacing the spiritual self
- 18:35Speaker 2: with the psychological self. That's a that's a short change
- 18:40Speaker 2: anyway you look at it. But what are the things
- 18:43Speaker 2: that we that we miss?
- 18:46Speaker 8: Yeah, you know we u when you don't have the
- 18:50Speaker 8: spirit of Christ, what you end up with is the
- 18:52Speaker 8: is the spirit of the age and what's happening in
- 18:56Speaker 8: our culture right now or where people are looking for
- 19:00Speaker 8: or peace, joy, And it hurts my heart because you're right, Anxiety, depression,
- 19:05Speaker 8: all of that stuff is on the rise. And then
- 19:07Speaker 8: we look within to find it. And and those are
- 19:11Speaker 8: things that were designed to be a part of that
- 19:13Speaker 8: Zoe life when Jesus said, I came to give you
- 19:15Speaker 8: an abundant life, Like there is an abundance of peace,
- 19:18Speaker 8: there is an abundance of joy, like we do have
- 19:22Speaker 8: access to knowing we have worth and value. But if
- 19:25Speaker 8: we only dig in around in the bayos, and that's
- 19:28Speaker 8: that's why you know, I encourage my church it's like
- 19:31Speaker 8: you need to get mental health counseling. That that's great,
- 19:34Speaker 8: but make sure they not only have a degree on
- 19:36Speaker 8: the wall, but make sure they have a Bible in
- 19:38Speaker 8: their hand. There you go, because Jesus said, it's the
- 19:42Speaker 8: truth that sets you free. It's not a counselor. And
- 19:46Speaker 8: in fairness, it's not a pastor that sets you free.
- 19:49Speaker 8: It's it's the truth of the Word of God that
- 19:51Speaker 8: sets you free. And wherever you're looking for for help,
- 19:54Speaker 8: make sure they're not. You know, don't let anybody mess
- 19:56Speaker 8: with your mind if they don't have a Bible in
- 19:59Speaker 8: their hand. Your your mind is too precious.
- 20:02Speaker 2: This is such a good it's such good stuff in
- 20:05Speaker 2: the perfect place for us to kind of park it
- 20:08Speaker 2: for today. Friends, join us for the rest of this

- 20:42Speaker 2: Kevin mckellaugh coming right back. We've got a lot of
- 20:44Speaker 2: news and other stuff to get to. Don't go anywhere.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Stick around for more of that. Kevin next here he
- 21:09Speaker 1: is from New York. That Kevin McCullough.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Welcome back to that Kevin Show. That kevinshow dot com

- 21:23Speaker 2: the columns, everything that we do in one place, never
- 21:27Speaker 2: behind a paywall, always wants you to have access to it.
- 21:29Speaker 2: One of the things I like to keep my eyes
- 21:31Speaker 2: on and keep the pulse of is what's going on
- 21:34Speaker 2: in the culture. And within the last twenty four hours,
- 21:36Speaker 2: I've had three people say while gen Z thinks this way,
- 21:39Speaker 2: And I always think it's interesting that people who monitor
- 21:43Speaker 2: such things come up with ideas about what future generations
- 21:46Speaker 2: are thinking. Sometimes it's based on research, sometimes based on
- 21:49Speaker 2: stuff they hear or see on Instagram. But is any
- 21:52Speaker 2: of that good? That's what Leanna Graham takes a look
- 21:54Speaker 2: at for Heritage on a regular basis. She's a research
- 21:57Speaker 2: research assistant for the domestic policy apartment there heritage one
- 22:01Speaker 2: of our longtime friends, and we love talking to the folks. Leanna,
- 22:05Speaker 2: your first time to be with us. Thanks for coming
- 22:07Speaker 2: on board.
- 22:07Speaker 4: Thanks so much for having me. I'm so excited for
- 22:09Speaker 4: our discussion gen.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Z, women and marriage. What do they think?
- 22:14Speaker 4: Wow, that's a big question and there's so much there
- 22:17Speaker 4: in terms of the answer. I'll shut off with an
- 22:19Speaker 4: nbe R working paper that recently went viral on x
- 22:23Speaker 4: that talked about how the iPhone was found to contribute
- 22:28Speaker 4: to a large decline in fertility between two thousand and
- 22:31Speaker 4: seven and twenty and eleven for women between the ages
- 22:35Speaker 4: of fifteen to forty four, which started the entire dialogue
- 22:37Speaker 4: online about the role of the iPhone and how that
- 22:40Speaker 4: possibly could be the case. And obviously there are a
- 22:41Speaker 4: lot of theories. I don't think it has to do
- 22:43Speaker 4: with the actual phone itself itself, radiation, or the device,
- 22:47Speaker 4: but probably due to one the structure of the technology
- 22:50Speaker 4: and the kind of relationships or lack thereof that it inspires,
- 22:54Speaker 4: and also the kind of content that that technology tends
- 22:57Speaker 4: to platform, particularly on social media. So I think I've
- 23:00Speaker 4: been looking at one in terms of a personal interest,
- 23:03Speaker 4: but Also, because I was raised on social media, I
- 23:06Speaker 4: have seen a lot of the messaging and the narratives,
- 23:08Speaker 4: and so in family policy or just in marriage culture.
- 23:11Speaker 4: More generally, what we've seen is the sort of paradox
- 23:14Speaker 4: where women seem to report that they do not believe
- 23:18Speaker 4: marriage and family would make their lives better or happier.
- 23:21Speaker 4: One in three women believe that marriage would be significant
- 23:25Speaker 4: for their well being and future achievements, whereas the studies
- 23:30Speaker 4: actually show. Surveys show that married women with children are
- 23:34Speaker 4: twice as happy as their unmarried peers. So there's a
- 23:37Speaker 4: discrepancy between what young women believe marriage will do and
- 23:41Speaker 4: what marriage actually does in terms of our lifetime satisfaction.
- 23:45Speaker 4: And obviously that warrants the question why is that the case?
- 23:48Speaker 4: My theory is that a lot of it has to
- 23:50Speaker 4: comes down to social media messaging and cultural narratives that
- 23:54Speaker 4: have degraded marriage and family as a low status option
- 23:58Speaker 4: for women.
- 23:58Speaker 2: So you're telling me gen Z is pretty skeptical of that.
- 24:02Speaker 4: Yes, in particular young women, I think what you just
- 24:05Speaker 4: noted is extraordinarily interesting. I've noticed that too in a
- 24:08Speaker 4: lot of the movies that are watched in songs as well,
- 24:11Speaker 4: and That's actually a term that some people have talked
- 24:14Speaker 4: about recently in some discourses, called heteropessimism. It sounds like
- 24:18Speaker 4: a fancy kind of jargony term, but it basically just
- 24:21Speaker 4: means that there are a lot of young people who
- 24:23Speaker 4: are like losing faith in relationships, traditional arrangements, marriage, etc.
- 24:29Speaker 4: So I think there are a lot of young women
- 24:31Speaker 4: in particular who feel that fear. I think some of
- 24:34Speaker 4: it is reasonable insofar as there are a lot of
- 24:38Speaker 4: negative portrayals of relationships and marriages that have gone away,
- 24:43Speaker 4: not just in our media but in our own personal lives,
- 24:46Speaker 4: Like with the divorce culture of the nineteen sixties and
- 24:48Speaker 4: seventies and eighties, what it was like for children growing
- 24:51Speaker 4: up where not only maybe their family members got divorced,
- 24:54Speaker 4: but people around them, their friends. They grew up in
- 24:58Speaker 4: the ruins of if a good marriage. And so we
- 25:01Speaker 4: see this like cyclical effect too, that the kind of
- 25:04Speaker 4: values that parents bequeath to their children, not just in
- 25:07Speaker 4: terms of things that they say, but what they embody
- 25:10Speaker 4: ends up having a huge influence on the things that
- 25:12Speaker 4: children end up ultimately evaluating or valuing as a successful life.
- 25:17Speaker 4: And we have found too, surveys have shown that parents
- 25:21Speaker 4: tend to emphasize the importance of career and education and
- 25:26Speaker 4: often neglect to discuss the importance of marriage and family.
- 25:29Speaker 4: And I've experienced this too, like even for conservative parents.
- 25:33Speaker 4: My parents are both immigrants from a very conservative, traditional country,
- 25:36Speaker 4: and they very much fit the stereotype of like when
- 25:39Speaker 4: I was growing up, they're emphasizing, like, you got to
- 25:41Speaker 4: go to school, you got to get your education and career.
- 25:44Speaker 4: I'm not saying those things are bad, but it's also
- 25:46Speaker 4: important to hear how important it is to have a family,
- 25:50Speaker 4: how important it is to carry on your traditions, how
- 25:53Speaker 4: important it is to build your life around community, because
- 25:55Speaker 4: that is how human beings were made to live. And
- 25:58Speaker 4: so I think a lot of young women in particular
- 26:00Speaker 4: are tapping into this anxiety. Jonathan Height has talked a
- 26:04Speaker 4: lot about how we are the anxious generation, and so
- 26:06Speaker 4: a lot of family policy discussions operate upon the assumption
- 26:11Speaker 4: that people respond rationally to incentives. That is how human
- 26:15Speaker 4: beings operate, and a lot of family policy, in terms
- 26:18Speaker 4: of cultural and policy discussions are oriented around bringing the
- 26:22Speaker 4: risk down. So there are marriage penalties, for example, in
- 26:25Speaker 4: the welfare system, making it such that it's not riskier
- 26:29Speaker 4: to get married than it is to stay unmarried. That's
- 26:31Speaker 4: one side of the coin. But the other side of
- 26:34Speaker 4: the coin that I like to focus on as well
- 26:36Speaker 4: is not only reducing risk, but reducing our sensitivity to
- 26:40Speaker 4: risk or risk aversion. And I think it's well documented
- 26:44Speaker 4: that gen Z in particular has a uniquely a unique
- 26:48Speaker 4: sensitivity to risk that I think needs to be addressed
- 26:51Speaker 4: because ultimately you can reduce the risk, but you can't
- 26:54Speaker 4: eradicate it. And love, like all great things, requires vulnerability,
- 26:59Speaker 4: which is a form of risk. And so a lot
- 27:00Speaker 4: of the things I talk about is we don't just
- 27:02Speaker 4: want people to get married, but to how good marriages
- 27:05Speaker 4: and what does it mean to have a good marriage.
- 27:07Speaker 4: I think it's recovering a view of marriage as this covenant,
- 27:10Speaker 4: as a union between two people. Well that requires mutual dependency,
- 27:15Speaker 4: and a lot of cultural narratives emphasize independence both before
- 27:19Speaker 4: and within marriage, the sort of partnership view, and it
- 27:22Speaker 4: reduces marriage completely and utterly to a partnership at the
- 27:27Speaker 4: exclusion of an understanding that is covenanal and I think
- 27:30Speaker 4: more grounded in a more human understanding of love.
- 27:36Speaker 2: That's a mouthful, but Leanna I'm grateful that you've done
- 27:41Speaker 2: so much work on this. Take a quick break, come
- 27:43Speaker 2: right back. Leanna Graham is my guest. She's part of
- 27:46Speaker 2: the Heritage Foundation, works in the domestic policy front. There
- 27:48Speaker 2: we're talking marriage and women in the New Age.
- 27:51Speaker 9: Stay with us here.
- 28:08Speaker 1: He is from New York. That Kevin McCullough.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Welcome back, Kevin McCullough. Glad to have you with us.
- 28:20Speaker 2: That Kevin Show, that Kevinshow dot com for everything, follow
- 28:24Speaker 2: me on Instagram, that Covin Show, TikTok, that Kevin Show
- 28:27Speaker 2: Facebook that you get it. It's that Kevin Show everywhere.
- 28:30Speaker 2: It's super easy. Hope you'll check it out. Leanna Graham
- 28:33Speaker 2: is back with us, and we're talking about the view
- 28:36Speaker 2: that modern women have towards marriage, specifically gen Z and
- 28:41Speaker 2: a couple of things strike me, Leana, because the data
- 28:45Speaker 2: that you're telling us is that they view marriage different
- 28:48Speaker 2: than what marriage seems to produce in their life. I'm
- 28:52Speaker 2: also reading studies from other groups that say that the
- 28:55Speaker 2: gen Z generation is also like more aggressively spiritually hungry
- 29:00Speaker 2: going to church more like they have an increase in
- 29:04Speaker 2: church attendance over several generations that precede them. So what's
- 29:08Speaker 2: really going on in the heart of these gals.
- 29:11Speaker 4: Well that, first of all, the whole thing about the
- 29:13Speaker 4: spiritual revival of gen Z number one, it's true, it's happening,
- 29:17Speaker 4: but there's a bit of a cadi up there. It's
- 29:18Speaker 4: a bit more nuanced because it seems that this is
- 29:21Speaker 4: more particularly pronounced amongst young men. And as far as
- 29:24Speaker 4: I understand, I just heard alm Roler's Now.
- 29:26Speaker 2: That can't be bad. By the way, you got more
- 29:28Speaker 2: honorable men, and if we convince the women it's okay
- 29:32Speaker 2: to marry them, you might actually have good families.
- 29:34Speaker 4: It's a very interesting dynamic that we're seeing right now.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Al Mohler spoke recently at Heritage. He gave a wonderful
- 29:40Speaker 4: talk about why young men are turning to religion. So
- 29:42Speaker 4: any of your viewers are interested more deeply in this issue,
- 29:45Speaker 4: I highly recommend that they go watch and listen to that.
- 29:48Speaker 4: But one of the things you noted was that this
- 29:50Speaker 4: is actually one of the first times we've seen in
- 29:52Speaker 4: church history where men are outnumbering women. Throughout church history,
- 29:56Speaker 4: women flocked to the church, and that's because of the
- 29:58Speaker 4: dignity they saw and ethics ascribe to women, particularly in
- 30:02Speaker 4: the second century. So that's number one. This is part
- 30:05Speaker 4: of a deeper divide I think we're seeing amongst young men,
- 30:08Speaker 4: between young men and young women. Men are flocking to Christianity.
- 30:12Speaker 4: And it's not just any Christianity, Okay, it's traditional Christianity.
- 30:16Speaker 4: It's either Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, or Reformed Protestantism. And
- 30:21Speaker 4: I think that is emblematic of a yearning, in particular
- 30:25Speaker 4: from young men for something real. That's what al Muller
- 30:29Speaker 4: talks about in his speech, that men want a tradition
- 30:33Speaker 4: that honors ontology or in other words, reality, people who
- 30:37Speaker 4: can say that a man is a man and a
- 30:39Speaker 4: woman is a woman, and a man cannot become a woman.
- 30:41Speaker 4: These basic ontological truths are affirmed. And there's also a
- 30:45Speaker 4: connection deeply rooted to our history. I think we feel
- 30:48Speaker 4: like we are part of a grander and deeper story
- 30:51Speaker 4: in the context of the Church, in recognition of our
- 30:54Speaker 4: history and traditions. So on the other hand, you see
- 30:57Speaker 4: women are becoming more secular, more progressive, skeptical of marriage
- 31:01Speaker 4: and family, and part of that is because of the
- 31:04Speaker 4: lies I think that are told on social media. If
- 31:06Speaker 4: you're familiar at all with Elizabeth Gilbert. She wrote Eat,
- 31:10Speaker 4: Prey Love, which became a best selling book, which ultimately
- 31:13Speaker 4: became a movie that influenced an entire generation of women. Honestly,
- 31:16Speaker 4: I could write a dissertation about that movie and that
- 31:19Speaker 4: book and its downstream effects on society. But she recently
- 31:22Speaker 4: appeared on a podcast, Elizabeth Gilbert, and she made the
- 31:24Speaker 4: claim that married women to become married, she says, is
- 31:29Speaker 4: statistically speaking, the worst decision a woman could do. And
- 31:33Speaker 4: all of the comments this video had millions of views,
- 31:36Speaker 4: millions of comments or millions of views and hundreds of
- 31:39Speaker 4: thousands of comments, and all the comments were saying, Amen,
- 31:42Speaker 4: Elizabeth Gilbert, I would never get married. I would never
- 31:44Speaker 4: do that to myself. And speaking statistically speaking, Elizabeth Gilbert
- 31:48Speaker 4: is empirically wrong. Married women, statistically speaking, are wealthier, happier,
- 31:53Speaker 4: and report better lifetime satisfaction than unmarried women. And so
- 31:58Speaker 4: again this plays back into why the discrepancy between these
- 32:01Speaker 4: perceptions and reality. Part of it is like women are
- 32:05Speaker 4: actually being lied to about statistically speaking what is accurate,
- 32:08Speaker 4: as is in the case with Elizabeth Gilbert. But the
- 32:11Speaker 4: other side of the coin is messaging that marriage will
- 32:14Speaker 4: significantly limit our life choices and in so doing, limit
- 32:18Speaker 4: our autonomy and self actualization. It's just a false view
- 32:23Speaker 4: of human nature. It's a false view of freedom, which
- 32:25Speaker 4: says that the most dignified life is the life that
- 32:28Speaker 4: allows me to pick up my backpack and go to
- 32:30Speaker 4: Europe for a summer just because I can. Honestly, what
- 32:33Speaker 4: you've just highlighted to me brings to mind a paradox
- 32:37Speaker 4: in terms of what young women say they want and
- 32:40Speaker 4: what they actually end up doing. And I think the
- 32:42Speaker 4: best example for this there's a pop star named Olivia Woudrigo.
- 32:45Speaker 4: She was recently interviewed by Vogue and she's twenty three.
- 32:48Speaker 4: In Vogue asked her, Okay, Livia, do you see marriage
- 32:52Speaker 4: as part of your near future? And she jokes she says,
- 32:54Speaker 4: what am I a childbride? She's twenty three. By the way,
- 32:56Speaker 4: I got married at twenty one, so I don't know
- 32:58Speaker 4: what that would make me in her book, but a
- 33:01Speaker 4: lot of people focused on the fact that she said
- 33:03Speaker 4: that and said, look at Hollywood and celebrities like the
- 33:06Speaker 4: typical anti family, anti marriage messaging. True, But what's most
- 33:10Speaker 4: interesting to me about that interview is actually the sentence
- 33:12Speaker 4: that comes right after her saying, what am I a childbride?
- 33:16Speaker 4: And the sentence right after is, but I want to
- 33:19Speaker 4: be a mom more than anything. Whoh boa hold on.
- 33:23Speaker 4: So we're joking about young marriage, but you're saying you
- 33:26Speaker 4: want to be a mom more than anything. This actually
- 33:27Speaker 4: tracks with polling. A Polling suggest Or survey suggests that
- 33:30Speaker 4: if you ask young Americans how they see their thirties,
- 33:34Speaker 4: they typically say the typical stuff like career, education, climbing
- 33:38Speaker 4: the ladder, all those things. But if you ask them
- 33:40Speaker 4: to project even further out into their sixties, seventies, eighties,
- 33:44Speaker 4: most people will say, I want a future where I'm
- 33:46Speaker 4: surrounded by grandkids and family members. So it seems like
- 33:50Speaker 4: Americans haven't lost the value of family in theory. What's
- 33:54Speaker 4: going on is that we're not able to apply it
- 33:56Speaker 4: in practice. And there's a lot of reasons for why.
- 33:59Speaker 4: I think it's not just marriage that has been discouraged
- 34:03Speaker 4: and treated as low status, but particularly young marriage. Like
- 34:07Speaker 4: the idea of getting married to some women might click,
- 34:09Speaker 4: but the idea of getting married at twenty one, for
- 34:11Speaker 4: lack of a better word, for a lot of women
- 34:13Speaker 4: just seems kind of cringe. And I think that has
- 34:15Speaker 4: to deal with a lot of media depictions of you know,
- 34:18Speaker 4: being young and broke and getting married, and that correlates
- 34:22Speaker 4: with being low educated. And we live in a society
- 34:24Speaker 4: where status is achieved by doing the opposite, by creating
- 34:28Speaker 4: as much independence as possible and achieving that social recognition
- 34:33Speaker 4: through those career achievements and market production as opposed as
- 34:38Speaker 4: as opposed to getting that value through domestic life and
- 34:42Speaker 4: encouraging the next gene.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Part of that and this, you know, sarcasm intended here,
- 34:48Speaker 2: part of that prevents you Leanna, as a young woman
- 34:50Speaker 2: then from having to experience an abortion, maybe struggling financially,
- 34:56Speaker 2: going through series and series and series of heartbreaks, and
- 35:00Speaker 2: have all kinds of other things visit your life that
- 35:02Speaker 2: really are more like hell than like thriving. And at
- 35:07Speaker 2: the end of the day, if we told young women
- 35:10Speaker 2: that marriage and other things might actually offset those things,
- 35:14Speaker 2: that would make all the ones that work in media
- 35:17Speaker 2: and production and academia and everywhere else feel really bad
- 35:20Speaker 2: about their own selves because they didn't choose some of
- 35:22Speaker 2: those paths. And so it's like, I get it. I
- 35:25Speaker 2: get why they're against it, I get why they fight it.
- 35:28Speaker 2: So hard. But I do think the illustration from Olivia
- 35:30Speaker 2: Rodriguo is telling because kind of sums it up, kind
- 35:33Speaker 2: of hits it on the nose. All right, Leanna Graham,
- 35:35Speaker 2: you're gonna have to come back because we do this
- 35:37Speaker 2: all day. But I appreciate all the work that you're
- 35:39Speaker 2: doing with the Heritage Foundation. Thanks for being with us.
- 35:41Speaker 4: Thanks so much for having me.
- 35:42Speaker 9: You got it.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Kevin mckella coming back. It's that Kevin shell.
- 35:47Speaker 10: Stick around for more that Kevin next time, serving it up.
- 36:03Speaker 1: That's a no drink mint. It's that Kevin Show.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Welcome back, Kevin mccaullaugh. Glad to have you with us,
- 36:16Speaker 2: That kevinshow dot com. And we're friends. We're five hundred
- 36:20Speaker 2: Bibles into a ten thousand Bible journey, so we've taken
- 36:23Speaker 2: the first step, but there's about twenty more steps we
- 36:26Speaker 2: need to take, and we need you to help us.
- 36:29Speaker 2: One eight hundred yes word is the number. One eight
- 36:31Speaker 2: hundred yes word. We're sending Bibles to people who are
- 36:35Speaker 2: believers in God, believers in Jesus, believers in the truth,
- 36:40Speaker 2: but they don't have a copy of the Truth for
- 36:42Speaker 2: themselves to study and to know and to memorize and
- 36:45Speaker 2: to cherish. Michael Woolworth back with us one more time,
- 36:48Speaker 2: and Michael, this is these are people that are in
- 36:52Speaker 2: all various areas of the world, various reasons why they
- 36:56Speaker 2: don't have Bibles, but that desperation to get one is
- 36:59Speaker 2: universe among them all.
- 37:01Speaker 7: Well, I wish we could, you know, just package up
- 37:03Speaker 7: all your listeners, Kevin, take them to places like Papua Indonesia, right,
- 37:07Speaker 7: or in South Africa where the next story originates.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Right.
- 37:10Speaker 7: I'd love for them to be in that room, you know,
- 37:12Speaker 7: to see that joy when Christian finally receives a Bible.
- 37:16Speaker 7: Let me say thanks to a couple of these wonderful listeners,
- 37:18Speaker 7: saying Count us in Barbara of Brooklyn said, I'm in
- 37:21Speaker 7: at thirteen bibles, Ruth, thank you for this gift from
- 37:24Speaker 7: the Bronx five hundred dollars gift and investment in this
- 37:27Speaker 7: campaign to put Bibles into one hundred waiting believers hands today.
- 37:31Speaker 7: And that's how it happens again. We have a goal
- 37:33Speaker 7: to bless just north of ten thousand waiting believers that
- 37:36Speaker 7: we know by name at Bible League. And that's how
- 37:38Speaker 7: we get there. It's every call and every click today,
- 37:40Speaker 7: and Kevin, I've certainly shared a lot of needs today.
- 37:43Speaker 7: I also just really wanted you to hear the reaction
- 37:46Speaker 7: of a senior saint when she finally received her Bible.
- 37:49Speaker 7: She's in South Africa, part of the Zulu tribe.
- 37:51Speaker 3: You know.
- 37:52Speaker 7: Her family were all animists. They believe there are spirits
- 37:55Speaker 7: and places and things. They're highly superstitious. They prayed to
- 37:59Speaker 7: dead relatives for protection. They really have no understanding of
- 38:03Speaker 7: who Jesus is, no england of what Christianity was all about.
- 38:06Speaker 7: But in the case of Miriam, in her sixties, her
- 38:09Speaker 7: pastor was the only one in the congregation to have
- 38:12Speaker 7: a prayer, and she of course planted herself under his
- 38:14Speaker 7: godly teaching. Was just grateful to be a part of
- 38:17Speaker 7: the family. God had sort of written off that she'd
- 38:20Speaker 7: ever have a Bible. But my colleague Joseph went into
- 38:23Speaker 7: the Zulu tribe. He was able to provide Bibles to
- 38:26Speaker 7: new believers. One of those Miriam, And he said, Michael,
- 38:29Speaker 7: when I gave her the Bible, she didn't merely say
- 38:31Speaker 7: thank you, he said.
- 38:32Speaker 1: This was her reaction.
- 38:34Speaker 11: We were in a place called Uma Langa. The lady
- 38:38Speaker 11: there she literally cried. She leelt down and she cried.
- 38:43Speaker 11: At the age of sixty, she never had a bible.
- 38:46Speaker 11: It is so much fulfilling just to see people like
- 38:50Speaker 11: hey redressing and being so gracious when they received their bibles.
- 38:55Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean that's the reaction. I mean, make no
- 38:57Speaker 7: mistake about it. Every five dollars gift is wanted, the
- 39:00Speaker 7: answer to the prayer of a waiting believer. You're putting
- 39:02Speaker 7: tears of joy not only on the faces but in
- 39:04Speaker 7: the hearts of these waiting believers into Paul and Galatian
- 39:08Speaker 7: six is what he said, I bear one another's burdens,
- 39:11Speaker 7: thus fulfill the law of Christ.
- 39:13Speaker 3: Kevin.
- 39:14Speaker 7: That's what people like Barbara Ruth others we think today
- 39:17Speaker 7: who are doing right. They're fulfilling the law of Christ
- 39:20Speaker 7: by what bearing the burden of other believers around the world,
- 39:24Speaker 7: in this case, giving them a bible for the princely
- 39:26Speaker 7: sum of only five dollars.
- 39:27Speaker 2: And now think about this. That means that they are
- 39:30Speaker 2: reaching six thousand people every day with the gospel around
- 39:35Speaker 2: the world. Five hundred people are trained every day to
- 39:39Speaker 2: share Christ. New evangelists every day, one new church's planet
- 39:44Speaker 2: every three hours. These are just some of the things
- 39:47Speaker 2: that are happening because of the Bible League, Bibles going out,
- 39:50Speaker 2: because of people finding the truth, knowing the truth for
- 39:53Speaker 2: the first time. And that's part of what your gift
- 39:56Speaker 2: of giving a Bible is continuing to create that little
- 39:59Speaker 2: army of people that are going and giving the Gospel
- 40:02Speaker 2: to everyone they know one eight hundred yes word one,
- 40:04Speaker 2: eight hundred yees WRD. Help us if you can give
- 40:08Speaker 2: a five hundred dollars gift right now, that's one hundred bibles.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Two hundred and fifty dollars. Will give us fifty bibles
- 40:14Speaker 2: and you do the math. But every bible costing five
- 40:17Speaker 2: dollars each, decide what your budget is, give that amount,
- 40:21Speaker 2: Divide it by five. That's the number of Bibles that
- 40:23Speaker 2: you're giving. Multiply that number of bibles times twelve. That's
- 40:26Speaker 2: the number of people that you're reaching. And we just
- 40:29Speaker 2: encourage you to pray on it and to give eight
- 40:31Speaker 2: hundred yes word one, eight hundred yes WRD.
- 40:49Speaker 5: Somewhere in the bowels of the city that never sleeps, Kevin.
- 40:52Speaker 2: McCalla, radio host with Salem Media, is a man also
- 40:56Speaker 2: not sleeping.
- 40:58Speaker 1: So that's Kevin and the power and.
- 41:00Speaker 3: That guy would like a word review.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Many of you know him from a spots to damas.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Of course, that Kevin Show is going to be great.
- 41:07Speaker 1: The only thing that could.
- 41:08Speaker 6: Be greater, of course, would be that Donald Show. We
- 41:10Speaker 6: don't have that.
- 41:10Speaker 9: So we have That Kevin.
- 41:11Speaker 5: Show featuring the music of Dick Tunney and the Dream
- 41:16Speaker 5: in Color Orchestra, straight ahead, everything you need to know
- 41:29Speaker 5: about the top headlines of the day, and a perspective
- 41:33Speaker 5: that will give you some eternity to it. Plus practical
- 41:37Speaker 5: tips for family life, spiritual life, and good old regular life.
- 41:43Speaker 5: It's Kevin McCullough Monday through Friday on That Kevin.
- 41:47Speaker 12: Show and now from the Connors in Sullivan Broadcast Studios.
- 41:58Speaker 5: The man who is not what he wants to be,
- 42:01Speaker 5: but is way grateful that is not who he used
- 42:04Speaker 5: to be.
- 42:04Speaker 13: Here everyone wants to read the Bible. But what happens
- 42:15Speaker 13: there are a few copies here in the area. Many
- 42:18Speaker 13: of them will be sharing a single Bible.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Many people sharing a single Bible. That's the case over
- 42:25Speaker 2: and over again. The Bible League runs into Michael. Woolworth
- 42:27Speaker 2: is back with us, and Michael, that's the problem we're
- 42:30Speaker 2: trying to work ourselves out of. We want to get
- 42:33Speaker 2: more Bibles into the hands of people so that they
- 42:36Speaker 2: can't read the scriptures for themselves.
- 42:38Speaker 7: Well, the man is an itinerant. Pastor ministers have primarily
- 42:41Speaker 7: in the Andes Mounds, the countries of Ecuador and Peru. Yeah,
- 42:44Speaker 7: Carlo does not exaggerate the truth, Kevin. He's got believers,
- 42:47Speaker 7: you know, five hundred here, three hundred here, fifty over
- 42:50Speaker 7: here that are what eager to grow in grace, right,
- 42:53Speaker 7: but they've never read for themselves from the precious Word
- 42:57Speaker 7: have gone and so it ought to be unthinkable in
- 42:59Speaker 7: our minds. But that's happening in this day and age,
- 43:01Speaker 7: especially when you can provide that for the princely sum
- 43:04Speaker 7: of only five dollars a Bible. So if you love
- 43:06Speaker 7: your Bible, if God has used his word to grow you,
- 43:09Speaker 7: would you give that privilege to others day. That's what
- 43:11Speaker 7: we're doing in this campaign that will not go on forever.
- 43:14Speaker 7: By the way, we have simply earmarked a few weeks
- 43:16Speaker 7: to come together to tackle this goal of blessing just
- 43:19Speaker 7: north of ten thousand waiting believers that we know by
- 43:22Speaker 7: name of Bible. Where right now Kevin closing in one
- 43:25Speaker 7: thousand bibles, So that would put us at one tenth
- 43:27Speaker 7: of the goal met to this point, but again a
- 43:30Speaker 7: long way to go. And again it happens with every
- 43:32Speaker 7: call and with every click.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Today, one eight hundred yes word is the number one
- 43:37Speaker 2: eight hundred yes word. You can also give online at
- 43:40Speaker 2: that Kevinshow dot com. Click the banner at the top
- 43:43Speaker 2: of the homepage the Bible League manner. It's the only
- 43:47Speaker 2: thing there. It's at the very top of the homepage.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Just click. That should take you about two minutes roughly,
- 43:51Speaker 2: to put your information in, to give your gift, and
- 43:54Speaker 2: to be on your way. But Michael, the return on
- 43:57Speaker 2: giving that gift is unlike any other benefit I can
- 44:01Speaker 2: think of in terms of what I could do with
- 44:04Speaker 2: that money if I'm talking about truly spiritually important stuff,
- 44:07Speaker 2: because those Bibles turn into more lives that have been changed.
- 44:11Speaker 7: Well, you know from a you know, an investment standpoint
- 44:13Speaker 7: that you can trust. You know, my bele League has
- 44:15Speaker 7: been properly vetted. This is year eighty eight for us. Right,
- 44:18Speaker 7: We've been on you know that Kevin Show days, Yeah,
- 44:22Speaker 7: WMCA for for many many years. I mean, we get
- 44:25Speaker 7: the high marks where we need them. You deserve to
- 44:27Speaker 7: know that as a listener. That's considering this investment right.
- 44:31Speaker 7: Charity Navigator gives us the highest ratings. The Evangelical Council
- 44:35Speaker 7: for Financial Accountability gives us the highest ratings as well.
- 44:39Speaker 7: And again, Kevin, we've been able to come back year
- 44:41Speaker 7: after year and give you a return on investment report,
- 44:45Speaker 7: if you will, And it's one. It's the stories. It's
- 44:47Speaker 7: precious souls that have come to the Lord in places
- 44:50Speaker 7: again where it's difficult to live out your faith. And
- 44:53Speaker 7: a couple of numbers that I share. These are statistics
- 44:55Speaker 7: that I think that really ought to stick in our minds.
- 44:57Speaker 7: Number one is what as many as nine of ten
- 45:00Speaker 7: new believers in the regions where we serve, Asia, Africa,
- 45:03Speaker 7: the Middle East and Latin America, as many as nine
- 45:06Speaker 7: of ten new believers go without. Again, what's so basic
- 45:08Speaker 7: to the Christian faith? And that simply having a Bible right?
- 45:12Speaker 7: And we can tell you that with confidence. I can
- 45:14Speaker 7: tell you on the other end of that as what
- 45:16Speaker 7: this miracle multiplier? Kevin, I think you coined that phrase
- 45:19Speaker 7: for us, and that is, on average, we can tell
- 45:22Speaker 7: you that a dozen people are impacted with every Bible
- 45:25Speaker 7: that hits the waiting hands of a heart hungry believer.
- 45:29Speaker 7: They're on fire for Jesus. Maybe the bush of Africa,
- 45:32Speaker 7: maybe it's the Andes Mountains, maybe it's near the Himalayan
- 45:35Speaker 7: Mountains in Nepal. But again, these are the areas where
- 45:38Speaker 7: God is called Bible League to serve. And we can
- 45:40Speaker 7: tell you with confidence, on average a dozen people impacted.
- 45:43Speaker 7: Somebody may say to a fellow believer, look, I've got
- 45:46Speaker 7: a Bible. Now, a thousand people have said yes to Jesus.
- 45:49Speaker 7: A thousand people have said yes to Jesus.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Now.
- 45:53Speaker 7: Many of those are like Mary, and my colleague Nick,
- 45:55Speaker 7: who went in that camp, said Michael. He said a
- 45:57Speaker 7: lot of these women their future is is terribly uncertain.
- 46:01Speaker 7: Their husbands have died, they've got kids, they don't have jobs.
- 46:04Speaker 7: They know they're not going back to their land. But
- 46:08Speaker 7: he said, they're hope filled as they come to Christ.
- 46:10Speaker 7: But you've got this audio clip from my colleague Nick,
- 46:13Speaker 7: and he is in the Zelika refugee camp in Malawi, Africa.
- 46:16Speaker 14: Many of the people coming to the camp, many cases
- 46:19Speaker 14: these are women whose husbands had been killed, were obviously
- 46:23Speaker 14: coming in the most desperate circumstances, wondering how they're going
- 46:26Speaker 14: to look after their families, feed their children and really
- 46:29Speaker 14: feeling completely hopeless and homeless. But what we discovered is
- 46:34Speaker 14: that many of them, through the work that we've been
- 46:36Speaker 14: able to do there, are really finding hope. And some
- 46:39Speaker 14: of them were saying that the sort of lifelong aspiration
- 46:42Speaker 14: now is actually to stay in the camp as evangelists,
- 46:45Speaker 14: to which to me was.
- 46:45Speaker 7: Remarkable crazy Christians right. As Nick said, if the traffic
- 46:50Speaker 7: was whizzing by there, he said, you know, people are
- 46:52Speaker 7: maked on this mistake that they are desperate. Mariam is
- 46:56Speaker 7: one of those people, right. Her husband died in their camp,
- 46:59Speaker 7: leaving her a widow with three children, ages three, five,
- 47:01Speaker 7: and seven. But she's a new believer, wants to raise
- 47:04Speaker 7: those kids in the ways of the Lord, praying for
- 47:06Speaker 7: a Kurundi language Bible. But as Nick said, there's a
- 47:09Speaker 7: lot of people wanting to stay in that camp. Why
- 47:12Speaker 7: they see the move of God. They've come to saving
- 47:14Speaker 7: faith right, having left all the isms that plague that
- 47:17Speaker 7: part of the world, right, and yet they want to
- 47:20Speaker 7: stay there. They want to see the Gospel take root. Kevin,
- 47:22Speaker 7: these are people that I want to support again. When
- 47:25Speaker 7: you see scripture take root, lives changed and a joy
- 47:29Speaker 7: that follows listen. That's a work that Bible League has
- 47:32Speaker 7: been a part of for ninety almost ninety years. And
- 47:35Speaker 7: this WMCA family, those listening to that Kevin Show, you've
- 47:38Speaker 7: been a part of this too for a long time.
- 47:39Speaker 7: And again our prayer today is let's do it for
- 47:42Speaker 7: a thousand believers that are waiting for Bibles in this
- 47:45Speaker 7: Elika refugee camp in Malawi.
- 47:48Speaker 2: The phone number is one eight hundred yes word, one
- 47:50Speaker 2: eight hundred yes word. You can also give a gift
- 47:54Speaker 2: by going to that Kevinshow dot com and clicking the
- 47:56Speaker 2: banner at the top of the page that Kevinshow dot
- 47:59Speaker 2: com at the top of the page just says Bible
- 48:02Speaker 2: League and it's easy to identify. You'll see a smiling
- 48:06Speaker 2: face of a woman holding a Bible there. That's the
- 48:08Speaker 2: idea of putting a Bible in her language, in her
- 48:12Speaker 2: hand so that she can put it in her head
- 48:15Speaker 2: and heart and hopefully communicate it to those that she
- 48:19Speaker 2: comes into contact with as well. That's the end result
- 48:22Speaker 2: of your five dollars is putting a Bible in their hands.
- 48:26Speaker 2: And Michael, I hate to kind of beat a dead
- 48:29Speaker 2: horse on this, but this is something that there's just
- 48:32Speaker 2: no doubt about it. If these people could receive Bibles
- 48:36Speaker 2: in any other fashion, they already would have. Like their
- 48:40Speaker 2: desire is so deep and so great for a copy
- 48:43Speaker 2: of God's word for themselves like this, there really is
- 48:46Speaker 2: nowhere else to turn except the Bible League for them.
- 48:49Speaker 7: Well, we're not the biggest, we haven't been doing this
- 48:51Speaker 7: the longest. But Kevin, there's a lot of places where
- 48:53Speaker 7: Bible League serves. There's no other ministry doing that, right,
- 48:56Speaker 7: And that is true of the work that God has
- 48:58Speaker 7: called us to inside a refugee camp. And Kevin, I
- 49:01Speaker 7: think about Jesus and Matthew twenty five where he says,
- 49:04Speaker 7: you know, you do it to the least of these,
- 49:06Speaker 7: You've done it unto me. I think we can agree
- 49:08Speaker 7: these are the least of these people that have suffered
- 49:11Speaker 7: an incredible loss. Maryam losing her husband with an uncertain future.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Right.
- 49:16Speaker 7: And then Jesus in that text you know, says there's
- 49:19Speaker 7: going to come a day I'll separate the goats from
- 49:20Speaker 7: the sheep. You know, the goats or whom that's the unbelievers.
- 49:24Speaker 7: Is what my time, my money, it's mine right, But
- 49:26Speaker 7: that ladder group the sheep, say what Lord Everything I
- 49:29Speaker 7: have is yours, my time, my resources, and I know
- 49:34Speaker 7: you know. This listening family is characterized by that latter
- 49:38Speaker 7: group people that have said, not only do I have
- 49:39Speaker 7: a great concern where God has me planning, but I'm
- 49:41Speaker 7: able to look half world away to a place like
- 49:44Speaker 7: the Zilika refugee camp and provide Bibles for the least
- 49:49Speaker 7: of these. Kevin, It's why we're doing this Kingdom business today.
- 49:52Speaker 2: One thousand Bibles needed for those that are doing the
- 49:54Speaker 2: studies in the Zelika camp. One thousand bibles. That means
- 49:58Speaker 2: one thousand people have come to they need to grow.
- 50:02Speaker 2: If friends, if you had the ability to do that
- 50:05Speaker 2: in a one time gift, that's a five thousand dollars
- 50:07Speaker 2: one time gift, or maybe you need to do it
- 50:09Speaker 2: twice at twenty five hundred or one thousand dollars a
- 50:12Speaker 2: month for five months, whatever God puts upon your heart.
- 50:16Speaker 2: But that's the need in that refugee camp that has
- 50:21Speaker 2: sixty thousand people crammed into the space of ten thousand,
- 50:24Speaker 2: the need is a thousand Bibles. Would you help us
- 50:27Speaker 2: right now? One eight hundred yes word, one eight hundred
- 50:30Speaker 2: yes word or go to that kevinshow dot com. Click
- 50:33Speaker 2: the banner at the top of the page that kevinshow
- 50:35Speaker 2: dot com.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Here he is from New York. That Kevin McCullough.
- 51:05Speaker 3: Welcome back.
- 51:05Speaker 2: It's Calvin McCullough. Glad to have you with us. It's
- 51:08Speaker 2: the Tuesday edition and on Tuesdays we like to check
- 51:10Speaker 2: in with Katie McFarland for the briefing. She has advised
- 51:14Speaker 2: multiple administrations on national security and foreign affairs policy issues,
- 51:19Speaker 2: and kat I, the Iran question to me is an
- 51:24Speaker 2: interesting one because Trump continually answers it differently than his predecessors,
- 51:30Speaker 2: and it seems like the regime continues to try to
- 51:33Speaker 2: play the same game. But he's had enough and he's
- 51:37Speaker 2: breaking things and blowing things up now. So what's going
- 51:41Speaker 2: on here?
- 51:42Speaker 15: You know, it's so frustrating because the leadership of Iran
- 51:46Speaker 15: it clearly divided, the civilian leadership, the parliament, the president.
- 51:52Speaker 15: They want a deal. They know that their inflation rate
- 51:54Speaker 15: is out of control, their currencies collapse, they have massive unemployment,
- 51:59Speaker 15: They're facing hundreds of billions of dollars to repair what's
- 52:03Speaker 15: already been destroyed, and that's even without rebuilding any kind
- 52:06Speaker 15: of military. They know they need a deal. They know
- 52:09Speaker 15: that they're not getting any income going forward as long
- 52:12Speaker 15: as that blockade works. But the Iyers, you see the
- 52:15Speaker 15: let's say one hundred and fifty thousand, I mean maybe
- 52:17Speaker 15: it's five hundred thousand of their revolutionary Guard and their besieged,
- 52:22Speaker 15: which is their irregular police force, like the Stirts in
- 52:26Speaker 15: Nazi Germany. The thugs, they're murders. They'd rather go down.
- 52:31Speaker 15: They'd rather have ninety million people die than to find
- 52:34Speaker 15: a deal here and to give up any kind of
- 52:37Speaker 15: their weapons system. So that's the problem. And the guys
- 52:40Speaker 15: with the guns are the ones who are calling the
- 52:43Speaker 15: so seems to be so far. Are the guys with
- 52:45Speaker 15: the guns are calling the shots? As I look at this,
- 52:48Speaker 15: you know what's our way out of this? When you
- 52:49Speaker 15: just keep going? There's no way you can pull back
- 52:52Speaker 15: at this point. You have to keep going. And is
- 52:55Speaker 15: there a group within Iran that is capable of running
- 52:58Speaker 15: the country? And I think there is. It's the theillion
- 53:00Speaker 15: leaders that I've just mentioned, and then in addition, it's
- 53:03Speaker 15: the regular army, the guys that predated the Iranian revolution.
- 53:09Speaker 15: There's still an existence, and President Trump has not targeted them,
- 53:13Speaker 15: and they're potentially a military. Then there's the regular police force.
- 53:17Speaker 15: They've not been targeted. And these are the guys again
- 53:20Speaker 15: that pre date the brown Shirt besieged thugs. There's still around,
- 53:24Speaker 15: so maybe there's a nexus, a corridor that could govern
- 53:26Speaker 15: that country. But at this point, I think you have
- 53:29Speaker 15: to just keep going the target list. Let me and
- 53:31Speaker 15: just go down every and then Pickax Mountain, where we
- 53:33Speaker 15: think is their new nuclear site, destroy that. And I
- 53:37Speaker 15: think then finally, if nobody in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard
- 53:40Speaker 15: wants to cut a deal, we're now working on the
- 53:42Speaker 15: third tier of leaders I think it's time to work
- 53:45Speaker 15: on the fourth, and the fifth and the sixth tier
- 53:46Speaker 15: of leadership. Iran knows that we have the ability to
- 53:50Speaker 15: capa to destroy those leaders. Israel certainly knows. Masad knows
- 53:54Speaker 15: where they all are.
- 53:55Speaker 2: And maybe we'll say, I think we've probably got ten
- 53:58Speaker 2: thousand Massad agents in Iran right now now, and I'm
- 54:01Speaker 2: guessing that they probably know pretty much down to a man,
- 54:05Speaker 2: where every one of those guys are. Yes, that's what
- 54:08Speaker 2: my Israeli sources tell me that were flooded into there.
- 54:12Speaker 2: So a couple of things on this, and let me
- 54:14Speaker 2: pull the lens back a little bit. I was talking
- 54:17Speaker 2: yesterday when we talk more about money on Mondays with
- 54:20Speaker 2: some of my market guys, and one of the thoughts
- 54:25Speaker 2: is that, and it's just in the earliest stages, but
- 54:29Speaker 2: there's been a complete realignment concerning the straight and the
- 54:34Speaker 2: thinking now is you get pipelines built, and that there's
- 54:39Speaker 2: going to be some reopening of pipeline projects that had
- 54:42Speaker 2: not been open before, and that you're going to see
- 54:46Speaker 2: eventually a lot less oil needing to go via ship
- 54:50Speaker 2: through that region. Does that just ultimately cripple the regime's
- 54:54Speaker 2: chance of doing anything because this I mean they basically
- 54:58Speaker 2: exist off of oil.
- 54:59Speaker 15: Right, that's correct. And what has happened is two things.
- 55:04Speaker 15: Countries have been getting their oil from the United States
- 55:07Speaker 15: instead of the Middle East, and so our oil krudo
- 55:11Speaker 15: all exports have gone up thirty percent since the world began.
- 55:13Speaker 15: That's terrific for our business. But the second thing is
- 55:16Speaker 15: the pipelines. There are existing pipelines, the UAE has them, Iraq,
- 55:20Speaker 15: the Saudis, and they were never really know, never really
- 55:24Speaker 15: reinforced that nobody really put a lot of effort into them.
- 55:26Speaker 15: A lot of effort has been put into them in
- 55:28Speaker 15: the last several months because those countries are saying enough
- 55:31Speaker 15: is enough. Iran, whether it's this time or next time,
- 55:34Speaker 15: has it just holds this hostage over the story of rumors.
- 55:37Speaker 15: I think within ten years, the straight of Rermves is
- 55:39Speaker 15: not going to be a problem. I think oil is
- 55:41Speaker 15: not going to move through the Gulf because Iran has
- 55:44Speaker 15: so screwed it up. I think oil will move through
- 55:46Speaker 15: these pipelines. New pipelines are being built. Their pipelines are
- 55:48Speaker 15: going to go to the Red Sea, their pipelines they
- 55:50Speaker 15: are going to go to the Mediterranean, and they're just
- 55:52Speaker 15: going to avoid the straight of removes in the Persian Gulf.
- 55:56Speaker 15: And Iran has done that to itself.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Yeah, So do you think there's a chance that the
- 56:02Speaker 2: Iranian people can be spared? Because I know that what
- 56:06Speaker 2: Trump is doing right now is trying to keep things
- 56:08Speaker 2: targeted and limited and focused, and he's constantly reminded us
- 56:13Speaker 2: that he cares about the Iranian people. That's one of
- 56:15Speaker 2: the reasons why these actions were taken to partially free them.
- 56:20Speaker 2: But then you see like the turnout for the Kamani funeral,
- 56:23Speaker 2: and you're like, well, that doesn't look good. Like what's
- 56:26Speaker 2: your feeling on the civilian population.
- 56:29Speaker 15: If we don't know, all we know is that a
- 56:31Speaker 15: year ago, millions of them turned out to protest the
- 56:36Speaker 15: economic conditions that the Ayatola was imposing upon them, and
- 56:40Speaker 15: thirty thousand of them were gunned down for that opposition.
- 56:43Speaker 2: But to be worse than what he put on them.
- 56:47Speaker 15: Order magnitude worse. And yet they're free to go out
- 56:51Speaker 15: because if they go out to protests, then even more
- 56:53Speaker 15: get gun down. I just keep thinking again, it's so
- 56:56Speaker 15: hard to take the long term few because I just
- 56:58Speaker 15: look at what I have to pay for today and
- 57:00Speaker 15: I'm mad. But the long term view is that the
- 57:05Speaker 15: Middle East has been completely realigned. The golf arabs is
- 57:08Speaker 15: around the United States are on the same side. The
- 57:10Speaker 15: long range view is that the United States now dominates
- 57:13Speaker 15: world energy. We are the largest world producer exporter of oil,
- 57:18Speaker 15: crude oil, refined oil, natural I liquified natural gas. You know,
- 57:22Speaker 15: we are energy dominant now throughout the world. Iran will
- 57:26Speaker 15: eventually crumble, and hopefully ninety one million people don't have
- 57:30Speaker 15: to go down with their leaders. I don't think they will.
- 57:32Speaker 15: I think that the Iranian people at some point stand
- 57:36Speaker 15: up and say enough is enough. Where some within the
- 57:38Speaker 15: leadership will say enough is enough. But at the end
- 57:41Speaker 15: of the day, it's a boon to the universe that
- 57:46Speaker 15: the Iranian leadership isn't in charge. And I kept thinking
- 57:49Speaker 15: back to remember, Kevin, you and I talked for years
- 57:52Speaker 15: about Hamas and Gaza and the Palestinians, and do the
- 57:56Speaker 15: Palestinians really support Hamas as the leaders of them? Or
- 58:01Speaker 15: was Hamas really exploiting and using its own civilian leadership,
- 58:05Speaker 15: its own people as human shields. And now we're not
- 58:09Speaker 15: talking about Gaza at all. Why because Hamas has been destroyed.
- 58:13Speaker 15: Israel destroyed it, the United States destroyed it, the Gulf
- 58:16Speaker 15: Arabs destroyed it by not giving it any money. And
- 58:18Speaker 15: so what's now in Gaza. It's a Gaza peace plan
- 58:23Speaker 15: slowly being rebuilt, and Hamas is not holding its own
- 58:27Speaker 15: people hostage. Maybe the i ergy c is Hamas. You
- 58:30Speaker 15: know that maybe you have to destroy the IRGC before
- 58:34Speaker 15: you can have an iron that's free.
- 58:36Speaker 2: Kind of coming to the idea that there's no other
- 58:38Speaker 2: coclusion that we can have about this, So let me
- 58:42Speaker 2: ask you about that. I agree with the report out
- 58:44Speaker 2: this morning that says that Yemen they're tough, they're going
- 58:48Speaker 2: to hold the Red Sea hostage. Now how much by
- 58:51Speaker 2: comparison to the Straight of Horn moves. How important is
- 58:54Speaker 2: what they're trying to do and they're opposing the Saudis
- 58:57Speaker 2: on the other side of them to do that doesn't
- 59:00Speaker 2: seem to me that it would bow very well for
- 59:02Speaker 2: very long. But what's your take.
- 59:04Speaker 15: Well, I mean, if the huties exists because Around funds them,
- 59:07Speaker 15: and if Around doesn't have the money to fund them,
- 59:09Speaker 15: the Huges don't exists for long. And secondly, you're right,
- 59:12Speaker 15: Yemen is really a fight. It's a civil war in Yemen,
- 59:16Speaker 15: and it's a fight between the Saudis and the Iranians.
- 59:19Speaker 15: Iranians support one group, the Saudis support the other group.
- 59:22Speaker 15: I don't you know, Again, it can threaten ship An
- 59:25Speaker 15: you know, there's always one errant missile that can get there.
- 59:28Speaker 15: But the long range, big picture view is that I
- 59:31Speaker 15: don't think that the Hucies are a great threat.
- 59:33Speaker 2: But does the Red Sea threaten global autonomy?
- 59:36Speaker 15: Not as much? Not as much. Okay, it's mostly the
- 59:38Speaker 15: Persian Gulf.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Well.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Lastly, and it's a complete change of subject, but the
- 59:43Speaker 2: President gave his address last Thursday night on election integrity
- 59:48Speaker 2: and I've written a lot about this over the last
- 59:50Speaker 2: couple of years. I'm just curious your thoughts on his premise,
- 59:54Speaker 2: which is, if we don't have clean elections, we don't
- 59:57Speaker 2: have a nation.
- 1:00:01Speaker 15: But I was a little disappointed in the speech because
- 1:00:04Speaker 15: what I think a great call to action and I've
- 1:00:07Speaker 15: written national speeches like that Oval Office speech, Adrenaline notion,
- 1:00:11Speaker 15: and what you want to do is identify the problem,
- 1:00:14Speaker 15: offer a solution to the problem, and then rally the public,
- 1:00:18Speaker 15: especially if the public is being asked to sacrifice, whether
- 1:00:22Speaker 15: it was FDR doing that, whether it was Lincoln doing that,
- 1:00:24Speaker 15: whether it was George Washington or Ronald Reagan. And what
- 1:00:28Speaker 15: I saw President Trump do is identify a big problem,
- 1:00:31Speaker 15: But I wasn't sure there was a real you know,
- 1:00:33Speaker 15: what's the solution here? What is our call to action?
- 1:00:37Speaker 15: I think that that if he had done that, it
- 1:00:39Speaker 15: would have been better. If not, it's not. I mean,
- 1:00:42Speaker 15: it's great to identify the problem, but so what's the
- 1:00:44Speaker 15: answer here? The Save America Act, for sure, is probably
- 1:00:49Speaker 15: the primary response that we need to have. But I
- 1:00:52Speaker 15: didn't hear him sort of a full throated discussion of that,
- 1:00:55Speaker 15: and I would have liked to hear that, but free
- 1:00:57Speaker 15: and fair elections if they don't, if we don't have
- 1:00:59Speaker 15: free elections, just the game.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: Well, I'm very disappointed that people like John Thune and
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: others that kind of came to power during the Tea
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: Party era don't understand that this is a fundamental rights
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: kind of issue, Like we're talking about the things that
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: the founders fought for in terms of integrity. Anyway, Katie, you're.
- 1:01:18Speaker 15: A busy lady, you guys gross fine.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: And she did. She just did on four hundred stations
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: across the country. Thank you, lady. McFarland. Always appreciate you.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: Got it. Kevin McCalla coming right back, don't go anywhere's.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Stick around for more of that. Kevin next here he
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: is from New York exactly, Ken, Kevin mcmor.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Welcome back, Kevin metholiclif had you with us. It's that
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Kevin show that kevinshow dot com. Michael Woolworth is also here.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: We're talking about Bibles, and we're talking about putting them
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: into the hands of people that need them, Michael. And
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: there's a lot of reasons why they can't get them
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: in the various regions of the world. That they're in
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: and some of its political persecution, some of its outright
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: like military hostility, some of it is economic and circumstantial,
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: some of it is from natural disasters and just there's
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: no infrastructure to be able to do anything like this.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: But whatever the reasons are, all of the people that
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: we're trying to help have two things that they know
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: for sure. One is that they desperately want a copy
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: of God's Word, that it is dear to them, that
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: it is something that it will help them grow, it
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: is something that they need. And the second thing that
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: they all have in common is that they even though
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: they desperately want it, they're not able to get it.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: So how do we solve that problem? Michael Wilworth, Bible
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: League has been stepping into that gap for a long time.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: And you may say you're not the biggest or the best,
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: but I will just say this, I've seen a lot
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: of mysteries. I've seen a lot of mysteries claim to
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: do Bible work. I've never seen an organization take his
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: seriously the idea of biblical discipleship and Biblical knowledge and
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: biblical education to the people that they're serving the way
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: the Bible League does I just haven't. I haven't seen
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: it with my own eyes. So as far as I'm concerned, Michael,
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: you guys are the biggest and the best. You've been
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: doing it for eighty nine years, and I think that
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: that consistency, that testimony means something and I want people
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: to understand. To me, that's the credibility. That's the real
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: When you do something for eighty nine years, faithfully, year
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: after year and without fail you see God bless it
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: and you see Him bring more people to himself because
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: of it. That's a sign that this group is doing
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: what God intends for them to do. To my point,
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: people are spread out across the world and they all
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: really do literally have different reasons why they can't get
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: a Bible, but they all desperately want one.
- 1:04:09Speaker 7: Well, I'm thankful for people like Robert of Thornwood, New York,
- 1:04:13Speaker 7: said Michael Kevin. I'm in a three hundred dollars gift
- 1:04:16Speaker 7: to take care of sixty waiting believers today, and that's
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: how we get it done again. We're just north of
- 1:04:21Speaker 7: five hundred, wanting to close in on a thousand as
- 1:04:23Speaker 7: quickly as we can. We've set a goal to do
- 1:04:26Speaker 7: this for just north of ten thousand believers that we
- 1:04:29Speaker 7: know by name it bibly. Kevin, I remember talking offline
- 1:04:33Speaker 7: about a year ago with one of your listeners. I
- 1:04:35Speaker 7: had some downtime. I called to say, Gail No, I
- 1:04:38Speaker 7: think she was listening in New Jersey. I said, Gail,
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: why'd you give?
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: Right? It was tax.
- 1:04:42Speaker 7: Season people that you had to extend, file for extensions.
- 1:04:47Speaker 7: You know, gas prices were starting to rise, all those things, right,
- 1:04:51Speaker 7: I said, Gail, why' you give? She said? Michael had
- 1:04:52Speaker 7: occurred to me in my husband as we were listening
- 1:04:55Speaker 7: to you and Kevin. I mean, what if we were
- 1:04:56Speaker 7: the ones in those stories, you know, as new believers,
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: you know, leaving whatever is and it was right, wanting
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: to grow in grace? She said, You know, we would
- 1:05:05Speaker 7: pray that someone, anyone would bring us a Bible. So
- 1:05:07Speaker 7: I love that perspective. I love people like Robert saying, look,
- 1:05:10Speaker 7: here's three hundred dollars to take care of sixty waiting
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: believers today and again that miracle multiplier of twelve per
- 1:05:17Speaker 7: bible means what about some you know, just north of
- 1:05:20Speaker 7: seven hundred people impacted with Robert's gifts again, be a
- 1:05:24Speaker 7: part of this today again. You know, if you love
- 1:05:26Speaker 7: your Bible. If God has used his word to grow you,
- 1:05:29Speaker 7: simply give that privilege to others today and Kevin, today's
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: an opportunity for me to come and let you know
- 1:05:35Speaker 7: your prayers are being answered. We all pray the Gospel
- 1:05:37Speaker 7: would take grip all over the world. That's happening in
- 1:05:40Speaker 7: places even like the Philippines. Just outside of Manila. If
- 1:05:43Speaker 7: anybody knows about ministry in the country of the Philippines,
- 1:05:47Speaker 7: in the region of Manila, there is this horrific trash
- 1:05:51Speaker 7: mountain they call it. Families live here. There's hypodermic needles.
- 1:05:55Speaker 7: Kids are rummaging through this place. They found corpses. I mean,
- 1:05:58Speaker 7: it's an absolute full place. Just outside of Manila, the Philippines.
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: A woman by the name of Betty was part of
- 1:06:05Speaker 7: a prostitution ring. There was forced into human trafficking by
- 1:06:08Speaker 7: the drug cartel. Kevin, for lack of a better word,
- 1:06:11Speaker 7: she was pimped about ten times a day. Multiply that
- 1:06:14Speaker 7: by five years. You talk about utter hopelessness. There was
- 1:06:18Speaker 7: a time when Betty, as a drug addict and as
- 1:06:22Speaker 7: a prostitute again forced into human trafficking by the cartel.
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: Utter prayer to God. She said, God, if you're there,
- 1:06:29Speaker 7: rescue me from my utter hopelessness. In fact, there is
- 1:06:32Speaker 7: a psalm that says, Lord, I'm in utter hopelessness, rescue me. Right,
- 1:06:37Speaker 7: That was the prayer of Betty. Betty was introduced to
- 1:06:40Speaker 7: the hope of the Gospel. There was a Bible League
- 1:06:42Speaker 7: volunteer ministering right near that trash mountain. So thankful that
- 1:06:46Speaker 7: the Bible he has connections there. Betty became a believer,
- 1:06:50Speaker 7: was on fire for Jesus, trained to share Christ with others. Kevin,
- 1:06:53Speaker 7: she has this incredible burden to reach women that have
- 1:06:56Speaker 7: been rescued from the groups of human trafficking. About one
- 1:06:59Speaker 7: hundred of those women are now believers. They've come together
- 1:07:03Speaker 7: to actually sing this audio clip. I know the quality
- 1:07:06Speaker 7: is not quite what it could be, but Kevin, these
- 1:07:07Speaker 7: are one hundred women rescued from the grips of human trafficking,
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: all members of our spiritual family, singing joyously about the Lord.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Yeah, Gods at work.
- 1:08:04Speaker 7: The Milla, Manila, the Philippines, just outside of that. My
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: colleague Romi was there. He's the one that collected that clip,
- 1:08:11Speaker 7: he said, Michael, I was there when I heard Betty
- 1:08:13Speaker 7: read her very first scripture.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Friends, that's what you initiate. It's like the first domino
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: of a very long line. When you give the Bible,
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: it pushes the first domino and it starts the entire
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: relay process that goes from there. But it doesn't happen
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: if we don't give that first Bible. So please call
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: one eight hundred yes word one eight hundred y E
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: s w R D, or go to that kevinshow dot com.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Here he is from New York.
- 1:08:57Speaker 10: Exact Kevin McCullough.
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: Welcome back, Kevin mccallaugh. Glad to have you with us.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: It's that Kevin Show. Michael Woolworth is back with me
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: from the Bible League, and we're talking about putting Bibles
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: into the hands of people who are spiritually hungry. And
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: there's more of a hunger I sense now than there
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: has been in quite some time, because we're seeing that
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: play out in the first world as well, where you
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: have age groups of people that are getting hungry for
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: spiritual truth in ways they haven't been before. But Michael,
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: in the Third World and a lot of the places
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: where Bible League ministers, that hunger has been there for years.
- 1:09:40Speaker 7: Well, it has been and certainly that's the case in Indonesia.
- 1:09:44Speaker 7: As I take you to that Southeast Asian country, Kevin,
- 1:09:47Speaker 7: let me say thanks to Walter if A Hawthor in
- 1:09:49Speaker 7: New Jersey. He said, Michael Kevin, I'm in a one
- 1:09:51Speaker 7: hundred dollars tax deductible gift for twenty Bibles. Today, Marian
- 1:09:55Speaker 7: of the Bronx said, I want to be a part
- 1:09:56Speaker 7: of this. Count me in to take care of ten
- 1:09:58Speaker 7: waiting believers today. And again, I know as you hear
- 1:10:01Speaker 7: these stories, it's tempting to say, Okay, my five dollars gift,
- 1:10:05Speaker 7: does it make a big difference in this great, big world.
- 1:10:08Speaker 7: And again, I'm going to tell you the story of
- 1:10:09Speaker 7: one hundred and twenty former witch doctors here in a
- 1:10:12Speaker 7: moment in Papua Indonesia that said yes to the Lord.
- 1:10:15Speaker 7: They've been busy about the gospel. But again, take the
- 1:10:19Speaker 7: empathy that you feel. It's easy to feel empathy for
- 1:10:22Speaker 7: people like Betty and those one hundred women rescued from
- 1:10:25Speaker 7: groups of human trafficking there in the Philippines.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: But take that empathy a step.
- 1:10:29Speaker 7: Further help us reach this goal. We want to do
- 1:10:32Speaker 7: it for just north of ten thousand waiting believers again
- 1:10:35Speaker 7: that we know by name at Biblele Kevin, it was
- 1:10:37Speaker 7: a couple of years ago I went to Indonesia. We
- 1:10:40Speaker 7: invited you on that trip. You probably recall this. You
- 1:10:43Speaker 7: politely declined the timing wasn't right. But I ended up
- 1:10:45Speaker 7: taking five of your Salem colleagues with me to the
- 1:10:49Speaker 7: country of Indonesia. This is the largest Muslim majority country
- 1:10:53Speaker 7: in the world. As we were around big cities like
- 1:10:55Speaker 7: Jakarta on Java Island, we certainly saw evidence of that,
- 1:10:58Speaker 7: lots of mosques and minaret. We were not permitted to go.
- 1:11:02Speaker 7: Our visitor not permitt us to go to to Papua Indonesia.
- 1:11:06Speaker 7: That's the western side of that right. The other side
- 1:11:08Speaker 7: would be Papua and New Guinea. But we did have
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: a pastor that came to us, a man by the
- 1:11:13Speaker 7: name of Tandy, small in stature, but Kevin, did this
- 1:11:16Speaker 7: seventy five year old pastor have a heart? And my goodness,
- 1:11:19Speaker 7: did he have a story to tell From Indonesia.
- 1:11:24Speaker 16: I met this witch doctor. He was called Philip. He
- 1:11:28Speaker 16: was teacher of the doctors, witch doctors because he was
- 1:11:32Speaker 16: the one who trained many to do the same in
- 1:11:36Speaker 16: killing people. So people in that village are really afraid
- 1:11:40Speaker 16: of this kind of people. So I when I went
- 1:11:43Speaker 16: there in that village, I invited these people to pray
- 1:11:46Speaker 16: for these witch doctors because I believe that only Jesus
- 1:11:50Speaker 16: can transform their life. Praise the Lord that in that
- 1:11:54Speaker 16: night when I conducted the crusade, these people came also.
- 1:11:59Speaker 16: So I preached the world of God, and at the end,
- 1:12:01Speaker 16: I invited these people to come to receive Christ. So
- 1:12:06Speaker 16: these people about one hundred and twenty maybe they came forward.
- 1:12:10Speaker 16: They kneel down, and then they want to receive Christ.
- 1:12:14Speaker 16: Then later on I went to Philip's house to I
- 1:12:18Speaker 16: teach him more about Christ than after several months, I
- 1:12:22Speaker 16: baptize him. So now, praise the Lord God has been
- 1:12:26Speaker 16: using him. Every day he and his wife pray for
- 1:12:31Speaker 16: his people, and he really loved God. When people get sick,
- 1:12:35Speaker 16: they call him to pray for them. So before when
- 1:12:38Speaker 16: people want to kill people, they invite him, but now
- 1:12:42Speaker 16: when they want to get healed, they invite him to
- 1:12:45Speaker 16: pray for them. So I believe this is the work
- 1:12:47Speaker 16: of Holy Spirit that transformed people's life.
- 1:12:50Speaker 7: Like Philip, yeah, we don't take any credit for the
- 1:12:54Speaker 7: transformation that's taking right it's scripture rooted joy. What happens
- 1:12:59Speaker 7: the scripture takes it's rude in somebody's life, Their life
- 1:13:02Speaker 7: has forever changed, Kevin, and the joy follows right mean
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: listen in case the traffic was whizzing by. That man
- 1:13:09Speaker 7: is Tany a colleague of mine with Bible League in Indonesia,
- 1:13:13Speaker 7: And we couldn't go to him and Papua Indonesia. So
- 1:13:15Speaker 7: he came to us in the capital city of Jakarta,
- 1:13:18Speaker 7: telling the story of these one hundred and twenty witch doctors.
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: Pastor Tani had befriended sort of the main witch doctor,
- 1:13:24Speaker 7: a man by the name of Philip Right, and he
- 1:13:26Speaker 7: invited this man to come to an evangelistic meeting on
- 1:13:30Speaker 7: a Saturday night. He thought, okay, the man, maybe his
- 1:13:32Speaker 7: wife will show up, Kevin, one hundred and twenty apprentices,
- 1:13:35Speaker 7: men and women learning the art of witchcraft, if you will,
- 1:13:38Speaker 7: showed up, and having heard the Gospel plainly preached, they
- 1:13:42Speaker 7: all bowed the knee. They said, we want this Jesus.
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: And I can tell you they've all been discipled in
- 1:13:48Speaker 7: the faith, and they've gone on to lead three hundred
- 1:13:51Speaker 7: people to Christ. That circle of one hundred and twenty
- 1:13:53Speaker 7: have gone on to lead three hundred to Christ. And
- 1:13:56Speaker 7: again we often talk about this multiply. It's not just
- 1:13:59Speaker 7: a Bible, but again it's the multiplication that happens when
- 1:14:02Speaker 7: people on fire for Jesus having left. Talk about spiritual darkness, right,
- 1:14:06Speaker 7: I mean Kevin, I think of Revelation thirteen where it says,
- 1:14:09Speaker 7: you know, the kingdoms of this world, whatever form they take,
- 1:14:13Speaker 7: are what becoming the kingdom of our Lord, right, And
- 1:14:16Speaker 7: that's what's happening in places like Papua, Indonesia, even though
- 1:14:19Speaker 7: these believers are half a world away. We're simply praying,
- 1:14:22Speaker 7: would you get involved with this today? There's three hundred
- 1:14:24Speaker 7: Bibles needed. These former witch doctors have become evangelists in
- 1:14:29Speaker 7: their own right, and they have seen again three hundred
- 1:14:31Speaker 7: people say yes to Jesus.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: Which I find incredible because the three hundred people that
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: they've led to Jesus didn't have Bibles yet. Can you
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: imagine if those believers had it Bibles in their hands
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: and they were able actually to do what you can
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: when you have the Word of God with you. But
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: they're so enthusiastic that they've nearly tripled the number of
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: people that came to faith there and they're still asking,
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: can you send us three hundred bibles. We want to
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: do more. We have more people to reach, There are
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: more people that need Jesus, and those three hundred Bibles
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: are going to make that difference, and they're also going
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: to disciple the three hundred new believers that need them.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: So friends, it's it's just incumbent upon us that know
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: the importance of scripture, that know the life giving nature
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: that scripture is. Three hundred bibles is the need three
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: hundred disciples learning the scriptures, three hundred believers becoming evangelists
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: themselves and telling others about who Jesus is. We need
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: your help one eight hundred yes word one eight hundred

- 1:15:55Speaker 2: multiplier is in effect that the same has been since
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: you know, eighty nine years ago when Bible League started.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: It's about a thousand people they're going to come to
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: faith in Jesus because of that. So we need we
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: need your help, and we need you to act quickly.

- 1:16:36Speaker 10: Next serving it up with a no drink mint.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: It's that Kenvin Show.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: Welcome back, Kevin mccallaugh. Glad to have you with us.
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: We're talking about getting Bibles to those who need them
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: all over the world, Michael Woolworth, and we mean it
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: like every corner of the globe.
- 1:17:05Speaker 7: Well, that's where God has called us to serve at
- 1:17:07Speaker 7: Biblely nearly ninety years young, if you will. And again
- 1:17:11Speaker 7: you mentioned some of the numbers earlier. I'm a little
- 1:17:13Speaker 7: hesitant to do that. I think our eyes gloss over.
- 1:17:16Speaker 7: But the bottom line is this. We all pray that
- 1:17:18Speaker 7: the Gospel would take grip all over the world, even
- 1:17:21Speaker 7: in places like the Middle East. Right, And we're here
- 1:17:23Speaker 7: to tell you what. We're taking just a little bit
- 1:17:26Speaker 7: of a break from the daily headlines to remind you
- 1:17:28Speaker 7: that God truly is at work, and again that's happening
- 1:17:31Speaker 7: all over the world. I want to end our time
- 1:17:34Speaker 7: together in the Middle East, Kevin. I've said this before.
- 1:17:37Speaker 7: I don't come as I'm not a geopolitical scientist. I
- 1:17:39Speaker 7: don't study all the dynamics that define places like the
- 1:17:43Speaker 7: Middle East. That's known what millennia of what conflict, pain,
- 1:17:47Speaker 7: suffering and loss. But as we see the hope of
- 1:17:49Speaker 7: the Gospel applied to lives there again we see people
- 1:17:52Speaker 7: totally transformed. And that's true in the life of a
- 1:17:55Speaker 7: woman by the name of Nora. What's her story, Well,
- 1:17:57Speaker 7: it was just about a year ago her husband was
- 1:18:00Speaker 7: ordered by radicals in that part of the world, leaving
- 1:18:02Speaker 7: her a widow with four young daughters. It wasn't too
- 1:18:05Speaker 7: long ago another group of radicals showed up, Kevin. They
- 1:18:09Speaker 7: destroyed her home, everything that she had lost in that fire.
- 1:18:12Speaker 7: Her youngest daughter, about four years of age, maimed for life,
- 1:18:17Speaker 7: with very serious burns all over her body. That's the
- 1:18:19Speaker 7: tragedies that Nora has gone through. Rather than grow bitter
- 1:18:22Speaker 7: through all of that, this woman, a former Sunni Moslim,
- 1:18:25Speaker 7: has grown what bold She is trained by Bible League
- 1:18:28Speaker 7: to share Christ with others. She would gather about fifty
- 1:18:31Speaker 7: Arabic speaking women week by week to go through this
- 1:18:34Speaker 7: study from Bible League. You've heard us talk about this.
- 1:18:36Speaker 7: We call it Project Philip. We're simply putting a name
- 1:18:39Speaker 7: in a face to really our global strategy, and that
- 1:18:42Speaker 7: is to what trained people like Nora to invite people
- 1:18:45Speaker 7: to come learn about Jesus. Often that's one on one
- 1:18:48Speaker 7: that it becomes a group study, maybe ten twenty thirty
- 1:18:50Speaker 7: people will gather. And for the case of Norah, she
- 1:18:53Speaker 7: led about two or three of those studies against all
- 1:18:56Speaker 7: Arabic speaking women. A lot of those in the same
- 1:18:58Speaker 7: situation widowed large families.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:19:01Speaker 7: But I can tell you today, by the grace of
- 1:19:03Speaker 7: God and through the gumption of this woman Nora, fifty
- 1:19:06Speaker 7: Arabic speaking women with families, a lot of large families,
- 1:19:10Speaker 7: about six hundred adults and kids represented there have all
- 1:19:14Speaker 7: said yes to Jesus and a part of the world
- 1:19:16Speaker 7: that they will now be defined as what infidels. They've
- 1:19:20Speaker 7: left the religion that define their lives. They're now followers
- 1:19:23Speaker 7: of Jesus. But my colleague Nirvana, they're in that part
- 1:19:26Speaker 7: of the world. Has this to say about women like Nora,
- 1:19:29Speaker 7: who often looked at as second class citizens. When they
- 1:19:35Speaker 7: become a believers Kevin, they see they have infinite worth
- 1:19:39Speaker 7: in the Lord.
- 1:19:40Speaker 17: Men think women are too marry a young age, and
- 1:19:44Speaker 17: they are not supposed to get educated or even to
- 1:19:47Speaker 17: be treated the same level as men. When I see
- 1:19:50Speaker 17: the ladies that are very happy that they can read
- 1:19:54Speaker 17: the word of Jesus and write the name of Jesus
- 1:19:57Speaker 17: for the first time, I saw life of women changed
- 1:20:02Speaker 17: after they started to read and write, and how they
- 1:20:06Speaker 17: regained their confidence in themselves, and how they could feel
- 1:20:12Speaker 17: that they now have value and they can function in
- 1:20:16Speaker 17: the society. As you said, how they can feel that
- 1:20:19Speaker 17: they are valuable in God's Also.
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: If you want to take a measure of human rights
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: around the globe, and you want to take a measure
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: of how women are treated around the globe, you will
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: find that the greater the Biblical literacy of the population,
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: the more respect the more equality, the more confidence the
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: culture has in terms of the women that it serves.
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: And the Bible League is right on the cutting edge
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: of that. Getting the Bible into the hands of people
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: that do not believe in eternal things or even in
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: just things can change when they come into contact with
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: Jesus's words and Jesus's life and his example, and that's
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: what nirvana is referring to. There in cultures where honor
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: killings are common, not uncommon, but common, the Bible can
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: literally save human lives by the redemption that Jesus brings.
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: We need your help. One eight hundred yes word, one
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: eight hundred y e s word. I'll go to that
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: kevinshow dot com and hit the banner the Bible lead
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: to the top of the page.
