  SPEAKER_00: Do you guys ever feel like you're being sabotaged in life?

  You're doing your best to follow God and yet one bad thing after another keeps
• 0:27
  happening to you.

  I have a friend who was really going through some stuff a couple of weeks ago.

  SPEAKER_00: During the course of a week,
• 0:36
  she had to deal with a winter storm that brought the coldest temperatures in
• 0:36
  50 years.
• 0:41
  SPEAKER_00: We're talking like minus 10 degrees with a minus 30 wind chill.
• 0:46
  SPEAKER_00: That's challenging enough, but their furnace broke during that.
• 0:50
  That would be bad enough,
• 0:51
  but on top of all that,
• 0:52
  the family came down with the flu.
• 0:55
  SPEAKER_00: They were cold and they were miserably sick on top of everything.

  SPEAKER_00: In Christian lingo, we call that "walking through fire."

  SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm talking about.

  It feels like the devil is tossing little fireballs in your path and you have

  SPEAKER_00: some fancy footwork to avoid getting burned.

  SPEAKER_00: I can relate to my friend because sometimes "when it rains, it pours."

  SPEAKER_00: That's another saying to describe when one thing goes wrong,

  SPEAKER_00: often a bunch of things go wrong and you feel overwhelmed.

  SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's how you're feeling right now.

  SPEAKER_00: If it's not and things are going great for you,
• 1:29
  SPEAKER_00: I'm sure you remember a time when things weren't so wonderful.

  SPEAKER_00: We've all been there.
• 1:34
  SPEAKER_00: We are all walking this path of life and we want it to be smooth.
• 1:38
  SPEAKER_00: We want it to be a straight, easy path.
• 1:40
  We don't want all these bumps in the road or any of these obstacles that are
• 1:44
  always
• 1:44
  SPEAKER_00: trying to trip us up.
• 1:46
  If we didn't have this kind of stuff to deal with,
• 1:49
  we would go faster on this life path.
• 1:51
  SPEAKER_00: Life would be easier.
• 1:52
  SPEAKER_00: The journey would be more enjoyable.
• 1:55
  But unfortunately,
• 1:56
  life doesn't work that way because we live in a fallen world.

  SPEAKER_00: According to Ephesians 6.12,
• 2:04
  SPEAKER_00: our battle is not against flesh and blood,
• 2:06
  SPEAKER_00: but against the spiritual forces of evil.

  If you're facing some difficult situations this week,

  let me encourage you.

  SPEAKER_00: and I'm sure you've heard of them,

  They literally had to walk in fire because they were thrown into a furnace for punishment.

  The guards were surprised when they saw an extra person walking in the fire
• 2:32
  with
• 2:32
  SPEAKER_00: the other three.
• 2:34
  SPEAKER_00: It was Jesus.
• 2:36
  SPEAKER_00: He never left these men, not even in this dire of a situation.
• 2:40
  SPEAKER_00: He's going to be with us in our fiery trials, too.
• 2:43
  SPEAKER_00: We're never left alone.
• 2:45
  No matter the problem we're facing,
• 2:47
  there is one who intercedes on our behalf.
• 2:50
  SPEAKER_00: And that gives us a pretty good feeling, I'd say.

  SPEAKER_00: Now, things may not go as we would like them to all the time.
• 2:57
  Our problems,
• 2:58
  they don't always get happy endings and they don't always get solved right away.

  SPEAKER_00: But God promises to see us through.
• 3:06
  SPEAKER_00: I'm going to read Ephesians 6.10 out of the New King James Version.

  SPEAKER_00: It says, Let me remind you what the armor of God includes.
• 3:13
  SPEAKER_00: You have your belt of truth.
• 3:14
  SPEAKER_00: There's the breastplate of righteousness.
• 3:16
  SPEAKER_00: The shoes of the gospel of peace.
• 3:18
  SPEAKER_00: The shield of faith.
• 3:35
  the helmet of salvation,
• 3:36
  and of course,
• 3:37
  the sword of the spirit,
• 3:38
  which is the word of God.
• 3:41
  SPEAKER_00: So guys,
• 3:41
  SPEAKER_00: if you're walking through fire today,
• 3:43
  SPEAKER_00: remember to put on your armor because I'm going to be doing the same.
