- 0:04Speaker 1: Hey, welcome back in to the North Florida sports network.
- 0:06Speaker 1: It's a football Monday, great, beautiful Monday in the North Florida area.
- 0:12Speaker 1: We're here to look back on the football weekend.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Right, yeah, I know.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Best time of the year, man.
- 0:22Speaker 1: You got all baseball, put college from pro football.
- 0:29Speaker 1: What a weekend it was.
- 0:31Speaker 1: But still, I still can't stop thinking about Mario.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I'm sitting here silent still.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I don't know what to make of it, man.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I mean it's hard.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Yeah, jimbo didn't do too well either.
- 0:53Speaker 1: There's some questionable decisions that he made as well.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I know what to make of that.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean a lot of things, but a lot of things were decided.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Oklahoma's for real.
- 1:07Speaker 2: How about that?
- 1:07Speaker 2: I mean, you called that get Dylan Gabriel.
- 1:10Speaker 1: We shot to put some money on him for the Heisman earlier, but yeah, that was a really good game.
- 1:19Speaker 2: It was man All timer.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Yep, Florida State took, took care of business, about everything but the spread.
- 1:25Speaker 1: But you know they gave up about one drive and then had a special teams laps in the second half where they gave up a touchdown.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Other than that, you know kind of one drive, one drive.
- 1:38Speaker 2: that touchdown man, it was a shame.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yeah, thomas had that beautiful interception.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Right, that was a great play few plays later, they just they trot on down the field.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Well, NFL was okay.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Your Niners beat the crap out of the.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Cowboys, man, they're back I love it.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Brock Purdy is a legitimate MVP candidate man.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he is the guy he has the ball off to is probably at the top of the list right now.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:08Speaker 2: But, man, they were pounding on him.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Last night, dude Dallas came to, they came to hit.
- 2:13Speaker 2: They, just, they were hitting, hitting each other.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yeah, jack Prescott's not the guy.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yeah, he's garbage man.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And how do you?
- 2:20Speaker 1: Everybody on that team knows it.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Texas Coast offense.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Yeah, the coach is not that guy.
- 2:25Speaker 1: This is it.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it's over.
- 2:26Speaker 1: They're done for that season.
- 2:28Speaker 1: They might you know be they'll beat the average teams or whatnot.
- 2:32Speaker 1: They're both going to get out the door.
- 2:34Speaker 2: We think Jerry Jones mindset was last night sitting up there watching Jack Prescott, who he's paying a billion dollars.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Oh, he's out of here.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Outdulled by Brock Purdy, who's on basically the minimum contract and will be, you know, like are the 49ers going to pay him?
- 2:49Speaker 1: No, he's got.
- 2:50Speaker 1: He's one of the most overpaid quarterbacks in history.
- 2:52Speaker 1: No, he's all more credit to his agent, I guess.
- 2:55Speaker 1: But they got duped, yeah, and he knew it.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Even he said that.
- 3:00Speaker 1: So he, like he's just I think he's done with it.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I think this is it.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I think, McCarthy and him are both gone after this year realizes it was a boneheaded decision.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yeah, speaking of boneheaded decisions, what the hell was Mario doing?
- 3:16Speaker 1: Well, after further review, I've come to conclusion that I don't know what the hell, he was thinking.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I still don't.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Obviously, he had to have been thinking no, there's no excuse for that, it's inexcusable, it's, it's, it's.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I don't understand it.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And then there's a lot of people that are finding out that he this isn't.
- 3:42Speaker 2: it's like a philosophy or something that Well, I don't think they've taken a knee at this season.
- 3:48Speaker 2: In fairness, they really haven't been in a close contest this season.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I mean, they've pretty much dominated everybody they had played.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 3:58Speaker 2: It certainly seems like he kind of just leaves that you don't take a knee when the games decided?
- 4:02Speaker 2: I guess I think he just kind of leaves that kind of thing up, but coordinator.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Have you ever been like, oh my God, like, do you plan on playing big time games?
- 4:10Speaker 2: I mean, goodness gracious, I mean, it's a yeah, high school Mine, by the way, coaching right, how does it?
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think it's one of those decisions that's going to have ripple effects.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Definitely could man.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah, we were talking about the.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Our whole Florida State's hold Hold.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Jacksonville stayed tobacco a couple years ago.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Right and the pinch that potential like what people thought it was going to well.
- 4:34Speaker 1: at least it was still like players missing assignments or something like that.
- 4:39Speaker 2: This is where you just you point directly to the head guy.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah, this is.
- 4:45Speaker 2: this would make me angry, yeah yeah, so there's definitely something to watch.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I mean, they got you know.
- 4:52Speaker 2: There's no time for them to think about it.
- 4:54Speaker 2: They gotta go on the road to play North Carolina.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Right, you look really good.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, drake May looks like an N4 quarterback man.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that also is.
- 5:04Speaker 1: You are gonna take a quarterback right now.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I tell you who looks good is a Mari Gainer.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Gainer looks good.
- 5:10Speaker 2: He gets pressure on the quarterback man that he's found that you know, if you maybe the one guy you look at right now and like man, it might be nice to still have him on that defense.
- 5:22Speaker 2: But we'll see, man, we'll see.
- 5:24Speaker 2: They haven't, you know, they played Syracuse.
- 5:26Speaker 2: We'll see how good Q's is coming in coming in this week.
- 5:29Speaker 2: But yeah that that it definitely has some potential to send shock waves to the locker room.
- 5:36Speaker 1: It's definitely gonna be used in recruiting, I mean yeah, but I don't know, with all the other things, it's just more of just.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Miami's not ever gonna struggle in recruiting with him as head coach.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a really good recruiter.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:52Speaker 1: But not a good game manager.
- 5:54Speaker 1: And if you're a top, you know player, I don't know, it's just, it's not a good look, Certain positions.
- 6:01Speaker 2: it may really have an impact with quarterback being there and just you know, just yeah it.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I don't know, man, but there were some other great games.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Really, that Red River rivalry was something else.
- 6:17Speaker 2: It was.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Both teams looked at times like they were gonna just take control and kind of.
- 6:21Speaker 1: They might see that match up again, yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I wouldn't be shocked.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I mean it's probably definitely gonna happen.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean either one of those teams would have to slip up.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I mean they're clearly better than anybody else in the big 12.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Oklahoma has no ranked teams except Kansas, who just got ranked, but I don't see them having any trouble.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Kansas with Jalen Daniels is a problem.
- 6:42Speaker 2: But you never know if he's gonna play week to week, they should take care of business and we'll see what happens with Texas.
- 6:51Speaker 1: If Texas wins that, I guess the winner of that game will be in.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, some other big games over the weekend.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Dolphins, back to the winning ways to care of the Giants.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Good to see their different team at home.
- 7:10Speaker 1: That's always a crazy how much of a home field advantage they have.
- 7:13Speaker 1: In the NFL, which you know, you think that there's not much of a home field advantage, but then in that same stadium, the college team that plays that in it, where home field advantage probably matters more in college, is a disadvantage for the Hurricanes as Mario Cristobal has.
- 7:28Speaker 1: What 0-5 now in home conference games.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 1: That's unbelievable has not won a conference game at home.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 1: They had a tough home slate last season.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 1: In terms of teams yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 2: But yeah, it's inexcusable.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a team that I figured they were going to roll them, even if you don't talk about the Neal Down plays, like the fact that they were in a game with Georgia Tech.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Yeah, the offense looked terrible, you know, especially the quarterback.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Yeah, Van Dyke had a rough one yeah.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Keep throwing it to that defender.
- 8:07Speaker 1: You know that's not actually.
- 8:08Speaker 1: You know when you throw it to the other team.
- 8:10Speaker 2: They still had it.
- 8:11Speaker 2: They still had it one and they still had it one.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yeah right.
- 8:16Speaker 1: FSU took care of business Mean.
- 8:19Speaker 1: You don't want to see them give up a punt return.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that kickoff return was uh, it was kind of shocking man it had it could have a score.
- 8:28Speaker 2: I mean they did they turn, they turn the table.
- 8:31Speaker 1: It was 22 17, just like that.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a nice one at the end of the first half and then the return offense.
- 8:38Speaker 1: And the defense as well.
- 8:39Speaker 1: They didn't, they didn't give up anything in the second half.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I would.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Actually I would put the defense ahead of the offense this far and in the season terms of overall performance.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I think they've been a lot more consistent.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I'm not saying the offense has been horrible, but there's definitely points where it Just stagnates, man, for whatever reason.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I, you know, wilson got hurt.
- 9:07Speaker 2: That just killed the kind of killed the flow of the offense.
- 9:10Speaker 2: And then you know we sort of said, all right, we're gonna strap it up and, you know, send it to Benson a couple times.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Yeah, hopefully, johnny Wilson he tweeted out that he was all right.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I mean he's back at practice.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I think it really looked like a concussion.
- 9:24Speaker 2: I know they said me on the broadcast, but I mean he was walking fine, albeit kind of wobbly, but yeah.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I think he really got Got driven into the ground there man head first, mm-hmm, I will point out, the officials were all the specifically Atrocious this game.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah both ways.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I mean, they were just awful, and that means gross special.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's.
- 9:47Speaker 2: That's one kind of silver lining is they've been bad just for both teams, but they've been.
- 9:53Speaker 2: They've been terrible so far this season.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Yeah well, what happened to Jim bow man you?
- 10:02Speaker 2: know just when you think he is who he is man.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Just when you think, hey, you know Miami, but then you just saw Miami, what they did.
- 10:10Speaker 1: And so what is that win that they did now?
- 10:13Speaker 1: And Texas ain't him, just went out and yeah you're ever gonna beat Alabama?
- 10:18Speaker 1: I think yeah, I don't know.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I think you see why max Johnson was was not the starting quarter.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:24Speaker 2: But however, I will say, man watching, watching kind of seeing the offense from a, an M in that first half against Alabama and Then what they trotted out there in the second half that what happened to it?
- 10:37Speaker 2: Really reminded me of when Jimbo would just take the ball or take the air out of the ball on offense.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Mm-hmm trying to slow it down.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you know some of some of the three points they didn't get.
- 10:50Speaker 1: But what a field go at the end of the game.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Yeah, an onside kick after and we had some, some real Jimbo specials, like you know.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Fourth and two from their own, 48.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I think they're down nine points and he's gonna punt what.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Yeah, they stuff like that, like that's what he that's, him man that's not Bobby Petrino calling that and that's him, that is.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Jimbo, but I don't think he really gives shit.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think yeah, he wants to win, but he's not gonna.
- 11:19Speaker 2: He's gonna do what he believes in, no matter what in terms?
- 11:22Speaker 2: Of football.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Terms of ball.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Yeah well, alabama took control of the SEC West and I'll tell you what Jalen Daniels is like a one-man show in Bouton Rouge, louisiana.
- 11:35Speaker 2: As for the LSU Tigers, I think they're gonna lose too many games for him to win the Heisman.
- 11:39Speaker 2: But, I think he should be the Heisman front runner right now when you talk about just pure soul individual.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Like carries, that entire team.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Yeah, on the ground, through the air.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they got some nice running backs, some nice little running backs, but he's he's the main threat on the ground, he's only got two picks to what like 18 touchdowns.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Yeah, they're.
- 12:00Speaker 2: If they're, caleb Williams may be a better passer on the run.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I mean, caleb Williams is ridiculous, right, you know.
- 12:07Speaker 2: But Jane Daniels is number two.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Well, yeah, they can accuracy when he's moving in the pocket, it's.
- 12:14Speaker 2: He's a really good quarterback, but again that defense is bad bad, it really is.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Yeah, the money 40.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Yes, with the goal, I guess we'll have to be they keep taking injuries along that front.
- 12:28Speaker 2: They've had some, some weird unfortunate things happen off the field at LSU this season.
- 12:33Speaker 2: So it's you know it's the coach.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Yeah, the coach.
- 12:37Speaker 2: And then you know, I believe Greg Brooks is the young man's name that diagnosed with brain cancer.
- 12:42Speaker 2: He was one of their starting DB's.
- 12:45Speaker 2: It's been a rough season but still I think some of the moves they made in the offseason on the defensive side of the ball have not paid off.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Harold Perkins getting moved inside Specifically, it doesn't look like it's really yielded a ton.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Yeah, usc man, or they went to three over times.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah it's a bad defense.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Yeah, bad defense mean that that Well, what USC?
- 13:13Speaker 1: Still undefeated, but she seems like a matter of time.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Arizona's a weird team, really weird team.
- 13:18Speaker 2: They got this defensive scheme where they they.
- 13:20Speaker 2: They put eight defensive backs out there and they just rushed three and it really dude.
- 13:27Speaker 2: It took them about a quarter and a half probably the first half to figure it out.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Williams numbers if you look at them there.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Yeah, not what they used to.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Our 14 to 25 to 19.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Just one touchdown.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Colorado was able to sneak by Arizona State to get to four wins, which is that's more than Vegas thought.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean two more.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Your bowl eligible.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Yeah you know, they said short of somebody coming out of nowhere and winning the national title, you know like say, for instance, hypothetically of Florida State and maybe give coach either Mike Norvell, something like that.
- 14:05Speaker 2: But well it's not, it's going to Dion.
- 14:08Speaker 1: I talk about the ACC in particular.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Yeah, dion's doing good man.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I mean, if you think about just you were just to take what it's for a team that was one in 11 and what he's doing it's, it's a turnaround, like a story turnaround you took Historic loser and a winning program.
- 14:26Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I mean offseason yeah we'll see it, have it, but it's a good start.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I mean foreign to.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I mean, that's pretty good.
- 14:35Speaker 2: It's already over.
- 14:36Speaker 1: It's halfway through the year.
- 14:37Speaker 1: He's already hit the over.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got some.
- 14:39Speaker 2: You got a few more tough teams on there.
- 14:41Speaker 1: That's true.
- 14:42Speaker 2: He's got some teams that I could also see him beating.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Yeah, see, acc race is gonna be interesting.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Because yeah.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Louisville, just take care of business, and you kind of could.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Yeah, so.
- 14:54Speaker 2: So.
- 14:54Speaker 2: So I know I should have Freeman man.
- 14:56Speaker 2: That was my yeah.
- 14:58Speaker 1: But the just finally where we're down.
- 15:01Speaker 1: And then Louisville knew how to handle.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I'm gonna say it, it's Riley Skinner.
- 15:05Speaker 2: On the risk of it coming back to bite me Sam Hartman really isn't that great.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I keep calling him Riley skin I mean might as well be Riley Skinner.
- 15:14Speaker 2: You know that's.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Let's get down to it.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Notre Dame banked on a wake for his QB to take him into the Championship discussion.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Yep.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Well, yeah, they got away with it at Duke, but it caught up to him and you know Brian Brahms a good coach.
- 15:30Speaker 1: He's at work.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Ronnie English is a good defensive coordinator.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Louisville has some playmakers.
- 15:36Speaker 1: They didn't look good against NC State, but they won the game on the road and, like you, you don't walk out of the car.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I mean, I'm telling you, just take it.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Yeah and that.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Defensively.
- 15:46Speaker 2: They looked fine.
- 15:47Speaker 2: I mean, I get it.
- 15:47Speaker 2: They're going against Brandon.
- 15:48Speaker 1: They have a favorable schedule.
- 15:51Speaker 1: They do coming up and they're in the mix.
- 15:55Speaker 1: A hundred percent for a birth in Charlotte.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Right now.
- 15:59Speaker 2: They got to be a favorite, to be at least one of the teams right.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I mean, they don't really look like they have their path.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Who do they got?
- 16:04Speaker 1: Who do they have?
- 16:05Speaker 1: They don't play Clemson.
- 16:06Speaker 1: They don't play Clemson.
- 16:07Speaker 1: They don't play in North Carolina.
- 16:08Speaker 1: They don't play.
- 16:09Speaker 1: They don't play close to Miami.
- 16:11Speaker 1: They have to beat Miami.
- 16:12Speaker 2: The toughest game they got left on their schedule.
- 16:14Speaker 2: You know they'll play Kentucky, but that's not a conference game.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Wow yeah and then you have North Carolina, who still has to play Miami Clemson, I believe.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you know that's it Duke.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Well, yeah, they'll play Duke, and maybe by that time Riley Leonard will be back and healthy.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yeah, so they got.
- 16:38Speaker 2: They got a tougher slate as well.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Really, louisville in Miami had a golden opportunity to both.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Like Miami, they, they still control you know, yeah, yeah, no, they're about to get well, they're about to hit a losing streak.
- 16:55Speaker 2: If they, if they were to, that would Against the odds well they're about to play at UNC at UNC and then you got to get come back and and play Clemson man.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Mm-hmm and I don't, I don't care what anybody says, like, as the season progresses, clemson's just gonna get better.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah, they struggled with weight at home.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Yeah, those two losses are they got the win offense?
- 17:17Speaker 2: You know that that defense is for real, though.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah, it will travel down to Coral Gables and what and it's will feast on TV V.
- 17:28Speaker 2: We're just gonna have to watch, man, it's.
- 17:32Speaker 2: It's a big.
- 17:33Speaker 2: It's a big week for for Mario to Shift that.
- 17:36Speaker 2: That mindset.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Yep.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Same thing with with a guy like Jimbo, you know, there's no time for them.
- 17:42Speaker 2: To Marcus Freeman same deal.
- 17:44Speaker 2: They got USC this week, you know.
- 17:50Speaker 1: But game day will probably be out west for Oregon and Washington.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Two teams Nobody's really really talking a whole lot about, even though Oregon after this week yeah, we'll see winner of this game, the quarterback and that team we talked about, the quarterback will be front-runner for the husband.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Probably, yeah, I don't think I know people talk about Oregon's defense.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Mm-hmm, I'm I'm excited to watch them again against a real opponent.
- 18:19Speaker 2: You know, watching them beat up on Colorado was one thing.
- 18:23Speaker 2: I Believe it's in Washington, yeah.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I think so.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Oh, what a great atmosphere that'll be up there in Seattle, man that's.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Yep it's gonna be a good one 330 this Saturday.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Texas, they don't.
- 18:39Speaker 1: They're still in the top 10.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Yeah, they're not out of anything, man they're.
- 18:43Speaker 2: You know, they're kind of right where Alabama is.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Alabama's got a wide open shot to just Alabama's still 11.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Yeah, they went out there in the playoff.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Same thing, right, and then because Texas will have a shot at redemption if they get a rematch and that and you already have a win against Alabama, so you don't have.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I Mean, and it's it's.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Who'd you lose to?
- 19:07Speaker 2: You lost to Oklahoma?
- 19:08Speaker 2: Oklahoma's not gonna really they're gonna be undefeated yeah and it'll be an upset.
- 19:13Speaker 1: If they do lose, it will be someone that nobody predicts.
- 19:16Speaker 1: I Nobody's gonna predict them to lose a game.
- 19:19Speaker 1: No for the rest of the year.
- 19:22Speaker 2: No, and I don't.
- 19:22Speaker 2: They shouldn't man that offense.
- 19:24Speaker 2: You saw what it.
- 19:25Speaker 2: You saw what it was last year when we played them.
- 19:30Speaker 1: They're playing the Golden Knights next.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Yeah, game is gonna be a hundred and nothing.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Gus has a problem stopping the run.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Yeah, they got blew out against Kansas.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Back out, daniel without that they just ran the ball from was 400 yards man it.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Hmm, you, you see F's going through some Like physical growing pains.
- 19:51Speaker 2: They're not big enough, they're not deep enough to really compete even with the bottom feeders and big 12.
- 19:57Speaker 2: But you know, kansas, and in the bottom feeder, oklahoma, is definitely not a bottom feeder.
- 20:02Speaker 1: So they're gonna get boat race.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Washington State came up short.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Interesting you see, la's defense, yeah, doing it, yep, but like we started it, what we were saying, that pack 12, that's the start of the cannibalization that just gonna eat every good.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Yeah, there's undefeated Washington State now they're down this week but they're still good enough and still sitting right there.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Well, this week another one's gonna go down.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, another one's going down this week Washington Oregon.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Do the winner of this game be able to run the table out of that.
- 20:36Speaker 2: That's a big question.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I'm gonna go out on a limb here, I'm gonna, I'm gonna pick Notre Dame to beat USC this week.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I mean that's?
- 20:42Speaker 1: I don't think that's a big limb If you looked at that.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Alex Christy pins.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but like if there's an offensive equivalent of of what that?
- 20:51Speaker 2: You know it.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Notre Dame's offense has been bad, really bad, but I think they'll finally be able to do what Marcus Freeman wants to do, which is just run the ball, control the clock.
- 21:02Speaker 2: That's how you got to beat USC.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah keep the ball out of Kayla Williams hand I man that's in South Bend.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's in South Bend.
- 21:11Speaker 1: It's a night game.
- 21:12Speaker 2: I think Notre Dame will get them.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I don't think anybody's going undefeated in the pack 12.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe.
- 21:19Speaker 1: If I had to pick Oregon, it would be Oregon yeah.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I think this is their biggest.
- 21:24Speaker 1: They just because they have the like the most experienced quarterback in the game in the sport right now defense.
- 21:30Speaker 1: And he's playing his best ever, and they have a defense.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the defense, and I Don't know.
- 21:36Speaker 2: We'll see, though, man.
- 21:37Speaker 2: We'll see that this is really the first test.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Six and oh man Wow.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Oregon State still five and one, they're all.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Utah still four and one.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Yeah, but, what's up with Kam Rison?
- 21:52Speaker 1: Is he ever gonna return?
- 21:53Speaker 2: I don't know, man, it doesn't sound like it.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Not for you, not for I mean.
- 21:58Speaker 2: He's what is he's 25?
- 22:01Speaker 2: At some point, man, just give up college.
- 22:04Speaker 2: You know you could rehab on a, on a undrafted free agent contract or something like that.
- 22:10Speaker 1: No time to cry for Jim.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Oh, he's got to go up to Knoxville.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Wow, next week, yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Man he's they're at Tennessee.
- 22:20Speaker 2: I could get ugly I could get really ugly yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 2: They had what?
- 22:26Speaker 1: Durkin cannot stop anybody, he can't he that he came from the school of Alex Grinch.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Yeah, good, pretty much there there's.
- 22:34Speaker 2: I mean, no, nobody's as bad as Grinch.
- 22:37Speaker 2: There's just no excuse for that.
- 22:40Speaker 2: It's not like they have a bunch of walk-ons out there on the defense either.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Yeah you know they got.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Guys they handpicked out of the portal and guys they threw some nil money at.
- 22:50Speaker 2: You know, dudes like bear Alexander, five stars like Cory, uh, Cory foreman, and so you know you got it.
- 22:58Speaker 1: You got to point to something if you were to pick one team out of the big 10 right now, who's it gonna be, even though it's one of the three?
- 23:09Speaker 1: Probably?
- 23:10Speaker 2: Right now I would pick Milkshake.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:14Speaker 2: A lot of it's based on how they've just manhandled the teams they've played, even though they haven't played anybody, I know man.
- 23:19Speaker 2: But they've done what they are supposed to do.
- 23:22Speaker 2: They look really physical.
- 23:24Speaker 2: They look outside of what Georgia looked like when they were playing against Kentucky, like that Georgia team looks unbeatable by anybody I've seen.
- 23:32Speaker 2: I get it, it's Kentucky, it's Devon Leary.
- 23:35Speaker 2: It's not the highest of offensive Georgia man, they look really great.
- 23:41Speaker 1: They look like the team that everybody thought they would be.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Yeah, because they have the talent At home when they're trying, obviously they're gonna win.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I don't know if anybody can get them on the road Maybe Tennessee but I think it's gonna come down to either the SEC title game or the playoff.
- 23:58Speaker 2: So I'm just gonna have to just put them off games.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I don't think anybody can get them in the SEC.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I don't know, man, like if the defense can, the defense can keep Georgia to like 13, 16 points, if there is a defense that can do it.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Maybe Alabama Auburn did play him good.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Auburn played him really good.
- 24:17Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 24:20Speaker 1: But man Georgia's got they're the big dog man.
- 24:23Speaker 2: They deserve it.
- 24:24Speaker 2: When they got it going, they yeah.
- 24:27Speaker 1: They're the number one.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I don't think anybody.
- 24:30Speaker 2: But outside of them I think Michigan looks the most physical and just dominant on a consistent basis.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Ohio State Again.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Man, I know that looks great and all, but then you play TCU and you lose.
- 24:45Speaker 1: You know, what I'm saying.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I still have that in the back of my mind.
- 24:49Speaker 1: So like, and we're not gonna find out about Michigan to the end of the year, and we knew that going into this season that's kind of what you do.
- 24:56Speaker 2: You just don't pay attention to it.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yeah, they're just like.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Hey look at they're just keep running the ball over everybody, cause they're disciplined.
- 25:03Speaker 2: I'm not sure you're going to learn a whole lot from them playing Maryland, I mean.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Maryland's Maryland hung around.
- 25:09Speaker 1: They're not terrible, but they're not.
- 25:11Speaker 1: There's some to show they're not.
- 25:13Speaker 1: They can't compete yet at that level.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Cause Ohio State did some dumb shit, man they were they're.
- 25:19Speaker 2: You know they were clearly sleepwalking, still able to flip the switch and win convincingly.
- 25:27Speaker 1: And Penn State.
- 25:28Speaker 1: There too, they all have to play each other, and there can only be one, because they still do the divisions.
- 25:33Speaker 2: James Franklin is just.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I'm not going to believe he can win a game that matters until I see it happen.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Every year he's right there and, like, all we got to do is beat Ohio State and or Michigan.
- 25:45Speaker 2: He doesn't do it.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Even when it went, even when all he had to do was beat Michigan State, he couldn't do it.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I'll believe it when he does it.
- 25:54Speaker 2: They look good against Iowa, but it was Iowa.
- 25:57Speaker 2: An old boy was hurt, man.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that's just.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, our guy Cade.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Yeah, he was, he was hurt former Michigan Wolverine.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Yeah, he, he went down, he's out for the season and but you know what?
- 26:11Speaker 1: They still have a shot and that's in the God.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Oh, dude, they think the coastal of the Big 10.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah, they'll be 11 and one.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Who's gonna beat him?
- 26:19Speaker 2: Nobody.
- 26:21Speaker 1: That division is awful right, well, maybe Wisconsin, I don't know.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Tanner Mordecai man he's.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Divisions are not the way to go.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I mean, it's really interesting to have the race Like this where the top two teams go to Charlotte.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Yeah, man, I'm because used to be you would lose.
- 26:44Speaker 2: I'm intrigued by the three-way tie for one of the spots.
- 26:47Speaker 1: That's.
- 26:47Speaker 1: It feels like that's just about to happen.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Three one-loss teams or there's gonna be a two-way tie for one.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you know there's gonna be one of those situations, yeah.
- 26:56Speaker 1: So what?
- 26:58Speaker 1: How you know when?
- 26:59Speaker 1: What if one team goes undefeated and then there's two teams, one loss, it's the highest ranked team.
- 27:08Speaker 2: It.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it'd be that, or common opponent if there's no head-to-head.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Yeah and then it'd be like winning percentage of the games, one in conference, stuff like that.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Yeah and you would figure it would maybe go to Florida State if it was, say, up against UNC based on TV ratings, let's based on who has the coolest uniform.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I know that you don't want to get in your so well, you just take care of business, you don't?
- 27:32Speaker 1: You don't lose any games and you take care of business.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we got to get on out of here.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Good week, man.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Good week of football.
- 27:43Speaker 1: It was, man.
- 27:43Speaker 1: It's the best time of year, man.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that's time of year Braves.
- 27:48Speaker 1: After taking a odd day off after game one will be at it tonight.
- 27:53Speaker 2: The Phillies and it's one is what the Braves did well in it.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Oh man, what a tough loss that was being shut.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Hadn't been out, hadn't been get shut out all season at home.
- 28:04Speaker 1: It's been two seasons since they've been shut out at home and they get shut out in game one of the playoffs.
- 28:10Speaker 1: The historic lineup is tough to see and we think it happened in baseball and that's why they play five.
- 28:18Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't like it, Nope.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Nope.
- 28:25Speaker 2: I'm with you, man.
- 28:25Speaker 2: They shouldn't be playing the Phillies.
- 28:27Speaker 1: They shouldn't.
- 28:28Speaker 2: I bet you Dodger fans feel the same way right now, Right you?
- 28:31Speaker 1: know that'll be two years in a row.
- 28:33Speaker 1: If these it's what it feels like it's gonna happen.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I mean, you know, both those teams have to win game two and then they have to win one game on the road and, as you, as the Braves saw last year, it is going to be tough to win up in Philadelphia and I think they're better this year.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Yeah you know, but whatever NFL you can, starting to see who the dominant teams are.
- 28:57Speaker 1: You're 49ers look like one of them.
- 29:00Speaker 1: The Eagles looked like the other one.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a little bit more wide open Because because the Jaguars were able to beat the bills who looked really good.
- 29:10Speaker 1: The Dolphins still look good, but then they lost on the road.
- 29:16Speaker 2: The bills, the bills are away from.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Buffalo, she's just still the champs though?
- 29:20Speaker 2: Yeah, they are, and I'm but.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Travis Kelsey.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Yeah, you, what man people were.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Got it.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, they were.
- 29:29Speaker 2: yeah, you should have heard Romo, if you were watching it, dude, I thought he was gonna sit there and start crying the press.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Damn Tony chill.
- 29:42Speaker 1: I had the volume on another box.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I don't really like to listen.
- 29:46Speaker 1: I like to watch it all.
- 29:48Speaker 2: We got to watch Tony, so you can talk about how much we hate him.
- 29:51Speaker 2: All right, yeah.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Well, hey, thanks for coming on.
- 29:55Speaker 1: It was a fun Day of football.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Will watch the baseball tonight and we'll look forward to the football next week and we'll talk to you next time right here on the North Florida Sports Network.
- 30:07Speaker 1: We had to go.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Our ride was here.
- 30:15Speaker 1: We got a channel.
