Transcript
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Daily Writer, where we share a lesson each day to help you cultivate the habits for creative success.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: For some unexplained reason, the majority of cursewords language are four letters long.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: This is why we sometimes refer to them as four-letter words.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Now, obviously, we're not going to repeat those here, but if we did, there's another four-letter word that can feel like a curse word, especially to writers.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: And that curse word is spelled Y E A R.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Now that may not seem like a curse word, but it can feel like one when you look back at the past year and you haven't accomplished what you would have liked to accomplish.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Imagine the book you could have written, the blog you could have started, the podcast you could have launched, or the income you could have made based on your writing.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: But year is not just a curse word, it's also a word filled with hope.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: Just imagine what you could do in the next year.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Here's a fun little exercise.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Take out a piece of paper and write the date of one year from today.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Close your eyes for a moment and imagine all the good that you could do with your words.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: You could write that book, you could start that blog or start that podcast, and you can make some extra income with your writing.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: You know, a year is not such a long time.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: It's only 365 days, and those days go by really fast.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Each one of those days represents 24 hours that you can never ever get back.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: As the author Karen Lamb said, a year from now you may wish you had started today.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: And indeed she's right.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: So get started today.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: This time next year, you'll be glad you did.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Thanks so much for listening to today's episode.
