- 0:30Speaker 1: like you're not nervous at all, thank you.
- 0:32Speaker 3: I feel like it's because I'm a bit tired, so
- 0:34Speaker 3: it's like I'm delirious.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I'm like you kind of want to here lucid dreaming.
- 0:40Speaker 3: You know, when you're so tired, you're just like I
- 0:43Speaker 3: just everything's off the table.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Do you know what the same vibe is when you
- 0:46Speaker 1: go to a job interview that you don't really want.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Do you like it's that I can just be me
- 0:52Speaker 1: because I'm fine.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I've never done that. I really like the jobs today?
- 0:57Speaker 1: Do you then always be like the favorite one? And
- 0:59Speaker 1: then they was like the job that I just like
- 1:01Speaker 1: sent it off because it was like an auto application
- 1:04Speaker 1: that you just upload your resume and I was like, yeah,
- 1:06Speaker 1: we'll try that one too.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I love that.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that's probably not a good thing as a tip,
- 1:11Speaker 1: but it's real. Now I'm like, I'll now, I'll be like,
- 1:15Speaker 1: if you don't want the job, don't go. But I
- 1:17Speaker 1: always think they're also good practice, So take what you want,
- 1:19Speaker 1: take what you want, exactly.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Great diverging the topic, But today we've got you on
- 1:25Speaker 2: because we're going to be talking all things beauty and makeup,
- 1:28Speaker 2: including a bunch of questions sent in from the chicks.
- 1:31Speaker 4: We're very excited.
- 1:32Speaker 2: But before we get into it, we love to start
- 1:34Speaker 2: with a life lesson of the week, So, as our
- 1:36Speaker 2: guest of honor, would you like to kick us off.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Okay, I've just been at fashion Week this week and
- 1:42Speaker 3: I feel like my life lesson of the week is
- 1:45Speaker 3: It does sound a bit cliche, but I want to
- 1:47Speaker 3: say that being yourself is like the best thing that
- 1:51Speaker 3: you can do because my first fashion week, I dressed
- 1:54Speaker 3: kind of like what I thought people wanted to see,
- 1:56Speaker 3: and then my last two fashion weeks, I felt like
- 1:59Speaker 3: I dressed more like myself. And that's been the weeks
- 2:02Speaker 3: that I like got shot by Vogue and stuff like that.
- 2:04Speaker 3: So it's like, be yourself.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I love the I think I can definitely relate to that.
- 2:10Speaker 1: We just we did an episode on it and I
- 2:12Speaker 1: was saying how I bought like the most rogue things
- 2:15Speaker 1: to wear that I could like. The shoes I bought,
- 2:16Speaker 1: I couldn't even walk in. I fell down my driveway.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Oh goodness, I know.
- 2:22Speaker 1: That's the reaction most people would have.
- 2:24Speaker 2: You're like, that didn't quite happen to me, But but
- 2:27Speaker 2: I think that is a great reminder.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And you did look phenomenal.
- 2:31Speaker 5: All of your looks were incredible. We were fangirling.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Yeah, what's yours?
- 2:35Speaker 1: Well, my life lesson of the week is to teach
- 2:39Speaker 1: people plain etiquette because by on an international flight recently
- 2:46Speaker 1: it was eleven hours and he's a few little things
- 2:52Speaker 1: that apparently people need a reminder for. I don't feel
- 2:55Speaker 1: like our cheeks need the reminder. I feel like maybe
- 2:57Speaker 1: they can just send it out. Maybe this on the
- 3:00Speaker 1: internet will hit the people that need to hit it. Yeah,
- 3:02Speaker 1: one put on deodorant and have a shower. You'd think
- 3:06Speaker 1: that would be common sense before a.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Long haul fly.
- 3:09Speaker 1: This man sat down smelling completely of like cigarettes and
- 3:16Speaker 1: just non deodorant wearing. Yeah, like you just and I know,
- 3:22Speaker 1: you know, people can tub with bo but I'm like
- 3:25Speaker 1: you you can tell. I can tell you have not
- 3:27Speaker 1: put on deodorant and have not showered. And it was
- 3:29Speaker 1: just not pleasant for eleven hours. And then the second
- 3:32Speaker 1: thing was not the fucking man spread like he sat
- 3:37Speaker 1: down like for the men, if you were getting on
- 3:39Speaker 1: a plane, I don't give a shit. You've got your
- 3:42Speaker 1: seat lines. Keep your legs within the seat lines. I
- 3:46Speaker 1: do not want to see you man spreading. This man
- 3:48Speaker 1: spread his legs and then put his leg under like
- 3:52Speaker 1: the seat that was in front of me. Yes, and
- 3:55Speaker 1: then he had no shoes on, so that my foot
- 3:58Speaker 1: touched it.
- 4:00Speaker 3: It was horrible.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Yeah, And he was laying.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Like this for like four hours, three to four hours,
- 4:08Speaker 1: and I'm like, we're on.
- 4:09Speaker 5: An eleven hour playing flight.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I cannot sit next to this.
- 4:13Speaker 3: So I woke him up.
- 4:14Speaker 4: I woke him up, said can you.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Move your leg please, it's in my seating area. He
- 4:19Speaker 1: probably thought I was the biggest bitch in the world,
- 4:22Speaker 1: but I don't care, because then for the light he
- 4:25Speaker 1: did not manspread good. He then also got into a
- 4:28Speaker 1: fight with the flight attendant because they refused to offer
- 4:31Speaker 1: him more alcohol, and he like, yeah, he was not
- 4:34Speaker 1: a pleasant person to do so next to it. Yeah,
- 4:36Speaker 1: I'm not being a princess being like in his leg
- 4:39Speaker 1: was in my space like he was.
- 4:40Speaker 4: No, he was rude.
- 4:42Speaker 1: He was rude and had bad hygiene. Yeah, so the
- 4:47Speaker 1: life lesson here is, oh, and he pushed my arm
- 4:50Speaker 1: off the arm rest. He did the double. He did
- 4:52Speaker 1: the double because here's the thing. Window seat gets the window.
- 4:55Speaker 1: I'll seat gets like the convenience of being able to
- 4:59Speaker 1: get up and down and walk around, and also a
- 5:01Speaker 1: little bit more leg room when people like aren't walking around.
- 5:05Speaker 1: So middle seat gets both the arm rests. That's the
- 5:07Speaker 1: unofficial rule. And he pushed my arm off the arm rest,
- 5:12Speaker 1: like my arm was on the arm rest, and he
- 5:13Speaker 1: pushed off and then laid his whole forum. I took
- 5:16Speaker 1: a photo as evidence when he was sleeping of his
- 5:19Speaker 1: man spread in his arm and I was like, take
- 5:20Speaker 1: your front of this being like fucking men And yeah,
- 5:26Speaker 1: just a little update for everyone. That's the rule. Don't
- 5:30Speaker 1: man spread and get your arm off my arm rest
- 5:33Speaker 1: or wake you up and shower.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Very valid anyway.
- 5:37Speaker 1: And the life lesson though, is to say something like
- 5:40Speaker 1: because it would have been it was really unpleasant sitting
- 5:43Speaker 1: next to him for the whole flight, But it would
- 5:45Speaker 1: have been ten times more unpleasant if I didn't say anything. Yeah,
- 5:49Speaker 1: and I did just let him like man spread into
- 5:51Speaker 1: my area the.
- 5:52Speaker 5: Whole flame flight exactly. I did have to work up
- 5:55Speaker 5: the courage for like an.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Hour, and I did wait for him to kind of
- 6:01Speaker 1: like move around. I didn't just like staring. Yeah, he
- 6:05Speaker 1: was like shifting sleeping positions and I was like, wait,
- 6:08Speaker 1: but yeah, that's my life lesson of the week. He
- 6:14Speaker 1: was not nice.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Yeah, it was an experience.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Okay, My life lesson of the week is never take
- 6:20Speaker 2: life advice from someone who is living a life that
- 6:23Speaker 2: you don't want to live.
- 6:25Speaker 1: We're both with some spicy life lessons.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like it doesn't it's not anything like dramatic,
- 6:31Speaker 2: but I think like a lot of people will give
- 6:34Speaker 2: out advice and what not quite freely, and you can
- 6:37Speaker 2: take it all with a grain of salt.
- 6:39Speaker 4: And everybody also.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Is on their own path and their own journey and
- 6:43Speaker 2: that's so fine. And I think sometimes people think that
- 6:45Speaker 2: they're doing the right thing by giving you advice, even
- 6:49Speaker 2: if maybe you haven't asked for it, But if they're
- 6:51Speaker 2: not living the life that you want to live, like
- 6:55Speaker 2: you don't have to take it and don't feel like
- 6:57Speaker 2: you have to compare yourself to them and where they're
- 7:00Speaker 2: at as well.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I think like people giving advice sometimes is a form
- 7:04Speaker 1: of a love language, so it's always good to remember
- 7:07Speaker 1: not necessarily to take it personally.
- 7:09Speaker 5: Yeah, like you.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Just don't have to take it.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you just don't have to do it. Yeah, Like
- 7:14Speaker 1: because when people are giving advice, they're probably doing it
- 7:16Speaker 1: out of love, being like this really helped me, maybe
- 7:20Speaker 1: it'll help you too. But yeah, yeah, everyone can have
- 7:22Speaker 1: different things.
- 7:23Speaker 3: But have you ever gotten the unsolicited advice from an
- 7:26Speaker 3: uber driver? Though? Yea, all the time, all the time.
- 7:31Speaker 4: What's an exception for the worst?
- 7:33Speaker 3: One was this one guy and he was like, oh,
- 7:38Speaker 3: like you're like my daughter's age. And then he was
- 7:40Speaker 3: talking about like sex before marriage, and he was like,
- 7:42Speaker 3: don't have sex before marriage. Don't be like those like
- 7:46Speaker 3: you know Harlot's on the streets.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Every time someone says that, I think about the page
- 7:50Speaker 1: teacher from Being Girls. Yeah you'll get pregnant and die.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it was like that.
- 7:55Speaker 2: It was a minute and I was like, world and
- 8:00Speaker 2: such like an intimate and vulnerable conversation and like you're
- 8:04Speaker 2: trapped in a car.
- 8:07Speaker 4: I hope you reported that.
- 8:08Speaker 3: You're like I did one of my fans, all of
- 8:11Speaker 3: my complaints. He's a great complainer.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I love that. That's me and our friendship. You're either
- 8:17Speaker 1: one or the other. That's like the two types of people.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what you need in a relationship.
- 8:21Speaker 1: It's called balance.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Yeah, you love it.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Light and shape. All right, let's get into the app.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Okay, let's take it back to the very start. How
- 8:32Speaker 2: did you get into makeup and beauty?
- 8:34Speaker 3: I feel like I've kind of always been into it,
- 8:37Speaker 3: Like I'd steal my mom's expired makeup and stuff and
- 8:40Speaker 3: it wasn't that good. But it's just always been something
- 8:43Speaker 3: that I've been into, especially with the old YouTube days
- 8:46Speaker 3: like the Savage Squad, like all of my favorite YouTubers.
- 8:50Speaker 3: And yeah, it's just such an exciting space to be
- 8:53Speaker 3: in because you can kind of shift your appearance depending
- 8:56Speaker 3: on what you like. I just feel like it's art.
- 8:58Speaker 4: Yeah, its a canvas.
- 8:59Speaker 3: It's really beautiful.
- 9:00Speaker 1: When you think about when you started out in makeup,
- 9:04Speaker 1: is there like a certain look that you remember, like
- 9:07Speaker 1: a certain YouTube tutorial that was like your Roman Empire.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, I feel like I did the contact lenses,
- 9:18Speaker 3: and I feel like if I was to do another
- 9:21Speaker 3: life lesson, I would say is if it's not your
- 9:24Speaker 3: eye color, just ditched lenses. So I was very much
- 9:27Speaker 3: like obsessed with it for a very long time, and
- 9:29Speaker 3: I feel like I actually look kind of scary if
- 9:31Speaker 3: it's like a I don't know, like a cosplay kind
- 9:34Speaker 3: of thing, and like's totally fine.
- 9:35Speaker 4: That's what I was gonna say for a costume or something.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Sure, but I was walking around with like blue eyes,
- 9:39Speaker 3: doing like the blue Eyes stair for I feel like
- 9:43Speaker 3: that's my Roman Empire.
- 9:45Speaker 4: Yeah, that is iconic. Do you have some photos of this?
- 9:48Speaker 4: We need to pull these up.
- 9:50Speaker 3: I feel like I've effectively scrubbed a lot of things
- 9:52Speaker 3: off of the internet.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Going to request that we get some lace polase. Yeah.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I think mine was like the cut crease, Like do
- 10:01Speaker 1: you remember in like maybe twenty sixteen and everyone's doing
- 10:04Speaker 1: the cut crease and it was like the was it
- 10:06Speaker 1: the steeler and the and like anyone can do a
- 10:10Speaker 1: cut crease with this? I have put it as bitch
- 10:13Speaker 1: was never and I was trying. I was cutting it
- 10:17Speaker 1: with concealer. I was doing the best that I could.
- 10:20Speaker 3: And it just never worked, especially over time and you
- 10:22Speaker 3: keep blinking, it just gets a bit it looks a
- 10:23Speaker 3: bit odd.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Yeah, there are some some looks that I was like,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I was having fun though, Yeah, I mean like she
- 10:31Speaker 1: wouldn't wear them today, but she was having fun exactly.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:34Speaker 5: Mine would be like the sharpie brows.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Yeah, the Anastasia Beverly Hill.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Yeah, kind of like great now, like all of my
- 10:41Speaker 2: graduation photos are like unusable.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Oh my goodness.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Sounds a good reminder if you have any like milestone events,
- 10:49Speaker 2: try to go as natural with the make.
- 10:51Speaker 1: That one was the coral lipstick.
- 10:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I had one from Sports Girl.
- 10:56Speaker 3: I avoided lots of lip colors. I used to like
- 10:59Speaker 3: mixed colours all the time because there wasn't any colors
- 11:01Speaker 3: that were available like my skin type. So I am
- 11:05Speaker 3: safe today. I've never done that and I'm very happy that.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Good job. Okay, So if you were to invent three
- 11:14Speaker 1: rules of makeup that anyone could follow, what would they be?
- 11:18Speaker 1: Because I feel like there's a lot of changing tips
- 11:22Speaker 1: and do your consider like this, and eyebrowls should go
- 11:26Speaker 1: like this, and you know, it's very very unique to
- 11:30Speaker 1: what your face looks like. Or what you have to
- 11:32Speaker 1: work with or how you want to do your makeup.
- 11:35Speaker 1: But if we were to pull it back to really
- 11:38Speaker 1: simple basics of like rules of makeup, if you were
- 11:40Speaker 1: to invent three, what would they.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Be at that rhyme for the three rules? I feel
- 11:49Speaker 3: like my first one would be start off small, as in, like,
- 11:54Speaker 3: don't pack on the product from like the get Girl,
- 11:57Speaker 3: because I know you see all the get Ready with
- 11:58Speaker 3: me and they just like that and that everywhere, and
- 12:01Speaker 3: I'm like, I feel like it's a lot of liquid
- 12:02Speaker 3: product to be putting in your face from the jump,
- 12:04Speaker 3: So start small and build it up. And then my
- 12:07Speaker 3: second one would be don't be afraid of color. I
- 12:10Speaker 3: know that lots of people, especially with liquid blushes, are
- 12:13Speaker 3: afraid of like the really pigmented colors. But once you
- 12:16Speaker 3: try it and like blend it out, I feel like
- 12:18Speaker 3: there's no color that fully doesn't suit anybody. So give
- 12:21Speaker 3: it a go, I'd say. And then my third would be,
- 12:26Speaker 3: if you want to try anything, to do it before
- 12:28Speaker 3: a shower, don't do it, like, don't test drive it
- 12:30Speaker 3: outside if you're a bit unsure.
- 12:32Speaker 1: If I'd just do it for a shower, I have
- 12:33Speaker 1: seen this and it's like people doing their shower will
- 12:36Speaker 1: make up. Yes, I had no idea this was a thing.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Have you seen this?
- 12:41Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 12:41Speaker 2: I would do it before like events and things, or
- 12:43Speaker 2: if I was going to like a costume party or
- 12:45Speaker 2: something and doing something while we're going to a concert,
- 12:48Speaker 2: and I'd be like, I'm going to practice this first
- 12:50Speaker 2: and do it before I have a shower, because you
- 12:54Speaker 2: just don't want to do it right before an event.
- 12:57Speaker 3: And you're like, no, neyver, try something new when you've
- 12:59Speaker 3: got something important, Just stick to your tried and true.
- 13:01Speaker 1: I've done I do that all the time. I'm not
- 13:04Speaker 1: good at that. Why does it always look so good?
- 13:07Speaker 2: And it's the same with hair too, It always looks
- 13:09Speaker 2: so good when you're going yeah.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Or right before you're about to have a shower.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Your wedding day and you're like, this suck.
- 13:16Speaker 1: It looks really good when you didn't get a photo. Yeah. Yeah,
- 13:20Speaker 1: like when you're wearing a really cute fit and your
- 13:22Speaker 1: make up looked really good and your hair looked really
- 13:23Speaker 1: good and you didn't get a photo and you're.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Like, if no one saw and it is all that work?
- 13:27Speaker 3: What did it?
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 13:29Speaker 5: Really?
- 13:29Speaker 3: Okay?
- 13:30Speaker 1: So our rules were to summarize.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Take your time, like small bits and pieces here and there,
- 13:36Speaker 3: and then the second one was two colors, color colors,
- 13:40Speaker 3: don't be afraid of pigments. And the third one was
- 13:43Speaker 3: to try new things when you don't have anywhere to go.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I love that clever, and I think run on before
- 13:49Speaker 1: unofficially should be trying new things. Yeah. I definitely do
- 13:55Speaker 1: have like the same look that I'll do every day. Yeah,
- 13:58Speaker 1: but I think it's so fun to try different things
- 14:01Speaker 1: and play with the colors that you do have. Like
- 14:03Speaker 1: how many of us have that eyeshadow palette where like
- 14:06Speaker 1: the warm neutral brown is like down to the pan
- 14:09Speaker 1: and there's like the literally purple and the pink and.
- 14:12Speaker 2: The green, and you don't have to do a full
- 14:15Speaker 2: eye shadow look with it either. You can just do
- 14:17Speaker 2: like a couple of dabs in the inner corner of
- 14:18Speaker 2: your eye and start playing with it that way.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Cute, have fun chicks. Yeah, Okay.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Our next question is based on a recent TikTok that
- 14:28Speaker 2: went viral on how your makeup may look bad because.
- 14:32Speaker 4: We're not wearing enough makeup.
- 14:34Speaker 3: I think this is true, which is weird.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Because as well, you've just said start small.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Yeah, so teach me please. I pertruly disagree. Yes, I disagree.
- 14:47Speaker 3: I don't know. I feel like lots of makeup isn't
- 14:49Speaker 3: for everyone. I personally don't like the feeling of makeup
- 14:53Speaker 3: on my face. I know I do a lot of
- 14:55Speaker 3: makeup looks, but once I've done them, I just washed
- 14:57Speaker 3: my face up. So I feel like there's no such thing.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I think, find your features that you really do love
- 15:05Speaker 3: and like play to those features. But I think you
- 15:07Speaker 3: can do a nice skin tint, a bit of I'm
- 15:10Speaker 3: wearing skin tin today. I've not got foundation on. I
- 15:12Speaker 3: just think it's better that way. I know everyone's very different,
- 15:16Speaker 3: so you can't just say one thing is for one
- 15:18Speaker 3: person one thing is for another.
- 15:19Speaker 4: So true.
- 15:20Speaker 1: It's a typical example, though, of that thing that's like,
- 15:23Speaker 1: you know, maybe two years ago, it was like you
- 15:26Speaker 1: need to be wearing less makeup. Your makeup looks bad
- 15:28Speaker 1: because you're wearing too much of it, and it's like
- 15:30Speaker 1: your makeup looks bad because you're not wearing enough. I
- 15:33Speaker 1: think it's understanding where you know, more makeup and less
- 15:36Speaker 1: makeup works, Like if you're going out at night, you're
- 15:39Speaker 1: probably gonna wear a bit more, right, or like to
- 15:42Speaker 1: make it last longer. Or does the amount of makeup
- 15:44Speaker 1: versus how much how long it lasts? Is that have
- 15:48Speaker 1: any correlation?
- 15:50Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I kindly make like an everyday makeup look like last and.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I do a bit of like in visno mat powder,
- 16:00Speaker 3: I like that, and then I just carry a spray
- 16:02Speaker 3: with me and then just refresh it all the time.
- 16:05Speaker 3: I feel like that's how I do it.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Is there a specific spray that's like the one.
- 16:09Speaker 3: That locks it in right now? I've been very obsessed
- 16:12Speaker 3: with the Clatterly spray. It's not a makeup spray. I
- 16:15Speaker 3: don't think I know which one you're speaking Auge's shaved my.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Yes, oh my god, spray like beauty product ever.
- 16:26Speaker 3: I've been having exma flare ups and all of my
- 16:28Speaker 3: setting sprays just like make my skin like tingle and sting.
- 16:31Speaker 3: But it's the only very gentle one gives you a
- 16:33Speaker 3: beautiful glirl, sets your makeup in you can use all day.
- 16:36Speaker 1: It is the best spray ever. I think it launched
- 16:40Speaker 1: like two years ago, and we went to the launch
- 16:44Speaker 1: of it at like lunch and we sprayed it and
- 16:46Speaker 1: I was like, so it sings as a funk around.
- 16:49Speaker 4: It's a potion.
- 16:50Speaker 1: It's right now. Oh my god. Yeah, I took it.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I was spraying it, and so I didn't have an itch.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Can I have some of that plates. We were sitting
- 17:00Speaker 1: on a plane once and the chicken in front of
- 17:03Speaker 1: us right it and we were like, within the crack,
- 17:08Speaker 1: that sounds really good.
- 17:11Speaker 2: And you can get a little like travel sized bottle
- 17:13Speaker 2: as well, because it is a little bit more of
- 17:15Speaker 2: an expensive but it is absolutely worth it, I think,
- 17:19Speaker 2: because it is multipurpose and it's so good.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 3: I also do feel like the makeup thing kind of
- 17:25Speaker 3: shits on people that have taken a really long time
- 17:27Speaker 3: to get comfortable with their skin and with their skin
- 17:29Speaker 3: without makeup. I feel like, if you're confident in it,
- 17:32Speaker 3: you don't need a lot, you know.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I think that is a bit of a journey too.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Like I think it's like personally speaking as well, like
- 17:39Speaker 1: makeup definitely has become a bit of a crutch in
- 17:43Speaker 1: terms of like feeling put together or like feeling good
- 17:46Speaker 1: about myself. I teeter on two sides of it because
- 17:50Speaker 1: I do think, you know, with the creativity within it,
- 17:53Speaker 1: with like having your personal look and the way that
- 17:56Speaker 1: you do your makeup, and that kind of ritual is
- 17:59Speaker 1: a bit of a self caretual as well, but it
- 18:02Speaker 1: should never be like something you have to do to
- 18:06Speaker 1: feel like yourself, which is definitely a bit of a journey.
- 18:10Speaker 1: I feel like it's definitely one that I'm still on.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Yeah, me too, and like you go up and down
- 18:15Speaker 2: with it as well, some days better than others.
- 18:18Speaker 1: So don't you have any tips on how to like
- 18:20Speaker 1: step away from leaning your makeup as a crutch.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I would say like investing your skin care rituals because
- 18:27Speaker 3: I feel like the more you take care of your skin,
- 18:29Speaker 3: the more you love it, and you're like, oh, this
- 18:31Speaker 3: is just a cycle of my skin. So I think
- 18:34Speaker 3: that's what's helped me. And exposure therapy different places without
- 18:39Speaker 3: you're going to say that that was like.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Sh yeah, that's so true.
- 18:43Speaker 1: See I've tried to do that and then like I'll
- 18:45Speaker 1: take a photo and I look at the photo, I'm like.
- 18:49Speaker 3: No, because I didn't make a free day at fashion
- 18:51Speaker 3: Week last year and it was one of the ones
- 18:54Speaker 3: that got into my publications. I was like, oh, damn it.
- 18:57Speaker 4: But then I was like, you know what, it's it's good,
- 19:00Speaker 4: it's fine.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yeah, So speaking of skin. We do hear that skin
- 19:04Speaker 1: prep is like the most important thing to have a
- 19:08Speaker 1: flawless beauty. Look, what is skin prep? What does it
- 19:12Speaker 1: look like? How do we do it?
- 19:13Speaker 3: Yeah? I feel like for me, skin prep is every day,
- 19:17Speaker 3: so I don't really feel like there's specific things that
- 19:20Speaker 3: I do for makeup application. I always err on the
- 19:25Speaker 3: side of hydration, even if I'm like an oily person,
- 19:28Speaker 3: because I do get like the oily t zone, but
- 19:30Speaker 3: being hydrated helps it not get oily throughout the day.
- 19:33Speaker 3: I feel, yeah, just really taking care of your skin,
- 19:37Speaker 3: especially when you're removing your makeup. I think the double cleansing,
- 19:41Speaker 3: the oil cleanser and then like the soap cleanser is
- 19:44Speaker 3: probably the best skin prep that you could do, Like
- 19:47Speaker 3: in the long term. Oh yeah, No.
- 19:50Speaker 5: Face wipes absolutely not.
- 19:53Speaker 3: I don't even do them, and I feel like it's
- 19:55Speaker 3: great to have on the side when in the case
- 19:57Speaker 3: of an emergency.
- 19:58Speaker 4: But you know what it say, I can travel a
- 20:00Speaker 4: situation or something.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't use them anymore, but I mourned them
- 20:05Speaker 1: every day. I really need someone to invent a face
- 20:09Speaker 1: wipe that I don't feel ashamed to you.
- 20:12Speaker 3: But do you know what I feel like you know
- 20:14Speaker 3: the cleansing bombs. Yes, use the cleansing bomb. I then
- 20:17Speaker 3: use the wipe to wipe it off instead of having
- 20:19Speaker 3: to like, okay, I can pack with that if you
- 20:21Speaker 3: want to use your wife.
- 20:22Speaker 1: It's the thing that I hate is like literally looking
- 20:26Speaker 1: like I unplugged the sink and it's just everywhere. It's
- 20:30Speaker 1: down my arms. I'm lazy by nature, Like I came
- 20:33Speaker 1: out of the womb lazy.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Okay.
- 20:34Speaker 1: I was like, I just do something.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Where can I cut a corner?
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 20:38Speaker 2: If I can cut a corner, I am involved being
- 20:41Speaker 2: efficient rebrand called being adhd bab.
- 20:48Speaker 3: She wash your makeup off just in the shower. Yeah,
- 20:50Speaker 3: and I'll do it in the sink.
- 20:52Speaker 1: That's what I've definitely started doing because I used to
- 20:55Speaker 1: be like a morning shower girly. Now I'm an evening
- 20:58Speaker 1: shower girly most of the time. Are both okay, because like.
- 21:01Speaker 3: I feel like that's an interesting conversation to be had.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Really do you shower like try to day or not?
- 21:06Speaker 2: Okay?
- 21:06Speaker 3: What do you do?
- 21:07Speaker 2: I do?
- 21:08Speaker 3: Like, if I've gone outside the outside germs run me.
- 21:11Speaker 3: I need to you and see in the morning. I
- 21:13Speaker 3: need to be clean to go outside.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Yeah, helps wake you up too.
- 21:17Speaker 3: It does.
- 21:17Speaker 1: That's the thing. I feel like, the shower starts the
- 21:19Speaker 1: day and finishes the day absolutely, so like that's why
- 21:23Speaker 1: whereas I used to just be like a morning shower
- 21:25Speaker 1: curly and then like take my makeup off, put my
- 21:27Speaker 1: jumies on. But because I can't be able to take
- 21:30Speaker 1: my makeup off at the sink and I like to
- 21:32Speaker 1: feel like clean to get into bed, I'll shower at
- 21:35Speaker 1: the end of the day. Yeah, but yeah, it just
- 21:37Speaker 1: depends on whether I can be polished. But that is
- 21:41Speaker 1: the hack. It's like just putting all your shit in
- 21:43Speaker 1: the shower.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it doesn't get doing it there, I think.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and then you're kind of like killing two
- 21:48Speaker 2: birds one stone as well, which we love. Okay, next question,
- 21:54Speaker 2: if you're going to build a beauty routine of products
- 21:57Speaker 2: under one hundred dollars, which products did you pick?
- 22:03Speaker 3: Fab question? I feel like I'll start with Laurier has
- 22:07Speaker 3: this I want to call it twelve in one. It's
- 22:12Speaker 3: very many numbers in one, kind of like it's a
- 22:15Speaker 3: bit like a skin tint. It's a great dupe for
- 22:19Speaker 3: the Charlotte Tilbury the Hollywood filter, but it's the only
- 22:22Speaker 3: one that has the deepest shades. Out of all the
- 22:24Speaker 3: brands that have done something like that, that one has
- 22:27Speaker 3: the deepest shades. So there was one where I was
- 22:29Speaker 3: just doing that and then leaving the house and that
- 22:32Speaker 3: was it. But there's that and then Benefit Cosmetics fan
- 22:37Speaker 3: Fest Mascara, I absolutely adore that. We love that too,
- 22:40Speaker 3: and then I'll finish off with a good lip bomb.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I do like the Linege lip masks as a lip balmba,
- 22:46Speaker 3: but I think it's very expensive, so I feel like
- 22:48Speaker 3: I might have hit the hundred mark already.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it goes a long way with that lip mask,
- 22:52Speaker 2: though I feel like I've had is a dupe for
- 22:57Speaker 2: the Lineage lip musk.
- 22:59Speaker 1: It's not as clay, but it works a tree it is.
- 23:04Speaker 5: Yeah, so true. Those are all great picks.
- 23:08Speaker 1: And speaking of that, in twenty seventeen, Fanti Beauty really
- 23:12Speaker 1: kicked open the door for inclusive beauty with the forty
- 23:16Speaker 1: shade range of foundation makeup. Diversity and inclusivity still has
- 23:21Speaker 1: a really long way to go, But like, how does
- 23:23Speaker 1: this space, What does this space mean to you?
- 23:27Speaker 3: I feel like it means a lot to be seen
- 23:29Speaker 3: in the space because there have been a lot of studies,
- 23:32Speaker 3: and black women do make up a large part of
- 23:35Speaker 3: the market, like the profitable market in the beauty space,
- 23:37Speaker 3: like beauty hair, all that kind of stuff. So it
- 23:42Speaker 3: does mean a lot to be seen and to also
- 23:44Speaker 3: be able to participate as and be taken seriously as
- 23:47Speaker 3: a consumer for all of these brands, which does mean
- 23:51Speaker 3: my brand loyalty is like very high. So once I
- 23:54Speaker 3: see a brand that offers all of like the shade
- 23:57Speaker 3: ranges from the lightest to the deepest, then I'll be
- 24:00Speaker 3: loyal to that brand for like probably forever. But yeah, recently,
- 24:05Speaker 3: have you guys been keeping track with the Ephoria Ethphoria
- 24:09Speaker 3: drama girl? Okay, so they recently? Okay, last year they
- 24:14Speaker 3: came out with foundations and they didn't have enough deeper shades.
- 24:18Speaker 3: I think the darkest shade they went to was probably
- 24:20Speaker 3: lighter than me. And then they got a lot of
- 24:22Speaker 3: backlash for it. So they're like, Okay, we didn't have
- 24:24Speaker 3: the budget for it, and we didn't know there was
- 24:26Speaker 3: a market for it, which is like.
- 24:28Speaker 1: A market Like the excuse of there's no market for
- 24:32Speaker 1: it is so ridiculously offensive.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Yeah, like.
- 24:39Speaker 1: We think you don't exist. Yeah, like sorry, but continue please.
- 24:43Speaker 3: And then this year they came out with I have
- 24:46Speaker 3: saying this the darkest shade and it's literally just one pigment.
- 24:51Speaker 3: It's actually black, like it's black paint pretty much.
- 24:54Speaker 1: It's really it's.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Very shocking, and people were like, oh, maybe it's something
- 24:58Speaker 3: that you mix with something else. When you start mixing
- 25:01Speaker 3: it with like the whole color theory situation, it just
- 25:03Speaker 3: turns things gray and so you know, there's no undertones,
- 25:06Speaker 3: there's nothing in there.
- 25:08Speaker 1: So what were they thinking.
- 25:09Speaker 3: I don't know, but they've been pulled from all the
- 25:11Speaker 3: major retailers because of all of the backlash, which is
- 25:15Speaker 3: really great to see that they actually people can make
- 25:18Speaker 3: a difference in these things, but very shocking of them.
- 25:20Speaker 3: It was kind of like, well you wanted a doc,
- 25:22Speaker 3: said's a hegre.
- 25:24Speaker 1: That fuck feels like little effort. It feels like like
- 25:28Speaker 1: as much as I said love cutting of Horner, it
- 25:31Speaker 1: was being like, okay, let's just take this box maybe
- 25:35Speaker 1: a little bit. Yeah, and yeah, it was really disappointing
- 25:38Speaker 1: to see because it's been like it was twenty seventeen
- 25:43Speaker 1: that Rhianna launched her first ever beauty brand. Yeah, like
- 25:47Speaker 1: as she's new to this space and if she can
- 25:49Speaker 1: do it in her first go like from the jump
- 25:53Speaker 1: from the these beauty.
- 25:55Speaker 5: Giants, Yeah, absolutely do it.
- 25:57Speaker 2: And like we said, we know the market is yeah,
- 26:00Speaker 2: because open your eyes and walk around the street and.
- 26:03Speaker 4: Look at the people that you see.
- 26:04Speaker 5: Likely, Yeah, it's ridiculous. But you did mention that you
- 26:08Speaker 5: are a bit of a brand loyalist.
- 26:10Speaker 4: Yeah, what are some of.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Your favorite brands?
- 26:13Speaker 3: I gravitate a lot towards Fenty obviously because of the
- 26:16Speaker 3: deeper shades. In terms of affordable ones, I would gravitate
- 26:22Speaker 3: a lot towards Remor and Loreal. They do have really
- 26:28Speaker 3: good deeper shades that are affordable. And then there's another one.
- 26:32Speaker 3: I can't remember what it's called, but it's in price
- 26:36Speaker 3: ligne and I do remember, Oh Revolution, Revolution Beauty. I
- 26:39Speaker 3: remember the first time I saw my shade in a
- 26:42Speaker 3: price line. I was like, oh, my goodness, and it's
- 26:44Speaker 3: only twenty dollars because I was like paying sixty dollars
- 26:47Speaker 3: plus for Foundations for the longest time. So ever since then,
- 26:50Speaker 3: I've been a Revolution Beauty loyalist.
- 26:53Speaker 5: I love that.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I really like that, even just as a tip, like
- 26:57Speaker 1: becoming like a loyalist to the brands that work for you.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Is we see so many recommendations of products and new
- 27:04Speaker 1: viral products, which is like really exciting to watch. I
- 27:07Speaker 1: think as well, like beauty creators, fashion creators, it's people's
- 27:11Speaker 1: jobs to like try out new products and test them
- 27:13Speaker 1: and whatever. Like that's people's jobs. But I think having
- 27:17Speaker 1: the notion of like loyal products, I mean, like this
- 27:20Speaker 1: is my ride or die and like you know what
- 27:22Speaker 1: works for you, know where you stay, it will kind
- 27:25Speaker 1: of help you save money along the way. Being like
- 27:28Speaker 1: I'm sure that's great, but I know, like this works.
- 27:31Speaker 1: This is going to be my ride or die and
- 27:32Speaker 1: it works for me.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Do you have any other tips for the chicks on
- 27:37Speaker 1: how they can save money on their beauty products.
- 27:40Speaker 3: I feel like it kind of goes back to the
- 27:42Speaker 3: little goes a long way because I feel like, if
- 27:45Speaker 3: you're just using I don't you know, the ten pumps
- 27:48Speaker 3: of foundation, like that viral thing, the modent, that's what
- 27:51Speaker 3: we did, that wastes a lot of money. And obviously
- 27:53Speaker 3: she can do it. But I feel like, just make
- 27:56Speaker 3: your products last, make them stretch.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't have to be also wet your beauty blender.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Because if you like when it's not wet, it soaks
- 28:06Speaker 1: up more liquid.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I hate my blender when it's wet. What I know,
- 28:12Speaker 3: I struggle, really, I do go in dry yeah it
- 28:18Speaker 3: oh my gosh, I hate the feeling of it.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Not the only reason it's dry is because I've sat down,
- 28:24Speaker 1: yeah to get Yeah, I don't know.
- 28:27Speaker 3: It just always makes her makeup look funny. Look at you,
- 28:30Speaker 3: Maybe I need to.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Maybe that's why my makeup looks good on some days
- 28:33Speaker 1: is because maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.
- 28:35Speaker 5: We need to do like a science experts, a b test.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Well, yeah, because I think that's what I've always been
- 28:42Speaker 1: taught is it's a sponge. It's going to soak up
- 28:44Speaker 1: more product if it's not wet.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Yeah, but so what.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Does it do and it's where it makes it look patchy.
- 28:50Speaker 3: For me personally? Yes, yeah, I feel like I did
- 28:55Speaker 3: have one of the you know, the giant yetty lender.
- 28:58Speaker 3: I love that one. So I dose that when it's
- 29:00Speaker 3: only for like my base, but after that try.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I'm gon go home and play with makeup.
- 29:06Speaker 3: I'm definitely not makeup artists. I feel like I should
- 29:08Speaker 3: say that from the yes you are, I'm not professionally trained.
- 29:12Speaker 3: My color theory is all out of whack. Someone did
- 29:15Speaker 3: say as a makeup artist online. I was like, please, please,
- 29:17Speaker 3: don't take my advice as a makeup artist.
- 29:20Speaker 1: You truly so good atredible Yeah, the natural born exactly.
- 29:28Speaker 3: At least on my own face. Don't ask me to
- 29:30Speaker 3: do your makeup.
- 29:32Speaker 4: That was going to be my next question.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Get the makeup roles out of there, guys, get the
- 29:37Speaker 1: makeup products out of here. So one final question, what
- 29:40Speaker 1: has been your biggest life lesson on your beauty journey
- 29:43Speaker 1: so far?
- 29:44Speaker 3: I feel like my biggest life lesson has been to
- 29:47Speaker 3: try every trend and then see what works for me
- 29:50Speaker 3: and keep it in my I guess beauty catalog, but
- 29:54Speaker 3: not everything is for me, So I don't feel like,
- 29:57Speaker 3: don't feel the pressure to try everything just because every
- 30:00Speaker 3: but he's doing it, if that makes sense. Take what's
- 30:02Speaker 3: for you really, Steady your face, like, look at yourself
- 30:05Speaker 3: in the mirror. I used to not like looking at
- 30:07Speaker 3: my face in the mirror. I don't know about you,
- 30:08Speaker 3: but sometimes I was just like, ooh, I don't want
- 30:11Speaker 3: to see it. But take the time. Steady your face,
- 30:14Speaker 3: learn your face shape, and just see what works best.
- 30:16Speaker 3: For you, that's great advice.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Do you think that's kind of like that high visual
- 30:20Speaker 1: and low visual thing? Did you see that?
- 30:22Speaker 3: That one's very interesting too. Yeah, I guess so, because
- 30:26Speaker 3: I used to do like the whole like snatched like thing,
- 30:30Speaker 3: but that's not really for me. And so even now
- 30:32Speaker 3: with like my blush placement, I feel like that really
- 30:35Speaker 3: suits my face shape. So somebody else with like a
- 30:38Speaker 3: different face shape, and like, I'm not gonna do what
- 30:40Speaker 3: you're gonna do because it will make me look crazy.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Yeah, for anyone who doesn't know what it is, it's
- 30:44Speaker 1: like this trend that was on TikTok, and it was
- 30:47Speaker 1: like you either have a high visual weight in your
- 30:49Speaker 1: face or a low visual weight in your face. And
- 30:51Speaker 1: high visual means your features take up majority of your
- 30:53Speaker 1: face and low visual means that you may have like
- 30:56Speaker 1: smaller features, so like a softer, more like broader make
- 31:00Speaker 1: up look will look better on those who have a
- 31:03Speaker 1: low visual weight, whereas high visual weight more of like
- 31:05Speaker 1: the snatch like contour.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Right, yes, yes, I believe.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Oh, thank you so much for joining us.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it was so good. You're a natural. Wouldn't have
- 31:20Speaker 2: known it was your first part.
- 31:26Speaker 4: It was pleasure, don't make it weird weird.
- 31:31Speaker 2: But for any of the chicks who aren't already following you,
- 31:34Speaker 2: where can they find you?
- 31:35Speaker 3: You can find me at Tender Luna. I'm pretty much
- 31:38Speaker 3: everything amazing.
- 31:40Speaker 2: We'll put all the links in the show notes because,
- 31:43Speaker 2: like we said, the makeup looks out of this world
