Transcript
- 0:16Speaker 1: No, it's wrong.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I like Hemmy Marshall here for Heavy mag.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Fantastic EDMI, how are you today, Thanks for.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Joining us, thanks for having me.
- 0:26Speaker 4: So you released your latest single, Hurt, late last month,
- 0:30Speaker 4: so how's the ely reception being for it?
- 0:32Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 0:32Speaker 2: I think people are pretty sick of hearing positive music,
- 0:35Speaker 2: and I think this songs really touched a lot of people.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Like we've had some great success with it in Australia,
- 0:40Speaker 2: but it's been number one in a couple of countries
- 0:42Speaker 2: over in Europe, which has been amazing, so really excited
- 0:45Speaker 2: about that. I think people are just really hurting out there,
- 0:50Speaker 2: you know. So this track called Hurt, it's moving through
- 0:52Speaker 2: people and I'm really I was a bit worried about
- 0:55Speaker 2: putting out a ballad because you never know how it's
- 0:57Speaker 2: going to land. But it's landed really well and we've
- 1:00Speaker 2: been number one in I think Germany, Ukraine, Lithuania and Luxembourg,
- 1:06Speaker 2: so that's been huge. Really excited about that, and I
- 1:09Speaker 2: think people are hurting. So I think it's a you know,
- 1:11Speaker 2: people are just sick of that candy pop and they
- 1:13Speaker 2: want to actually list into something that means something to them.
- 1:15Speaker 2: So it's been really well received.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Yeah, so it is.
- 1:18Speaker 4: It's a beautiful than sultry track. But what is it
- 1:21Speaker 4: actually about. Is it about being hurt or about inflicting her.
- 1:25Speaker 2: I think when we get hurt, we like to hurt.
- 1:28Speaker 2: It's it's a reaction, right, So I think this song
- 1:31Speaker 2: is about taking power back after being really badly hurt.
- 1:34Speaker 2: And I think we've all been really hurt. I think
- 1:36Speaker 2: we live in a lot of hurt, especially these days.
- 1:38Speaker 2: The world is crazy. I don't think we need lots
- 1:40Speaker 2: of lipstick positive songs. I think it's a it's a
- 1:43Speaker 2: real thing that a lot of us are in a
- 1:45Speaker 2: lot of pain. So what this song for me was
- 1:47Speaker 2: about being hurt, being let down, and finding a way
- 1:51Speaker 2: to move that through my body. Not to revenge, because
- 1:54Speaker 2: that's where you start. So first when you get hurt,
- 1:56Speaker 2: first you get angry, Then you get sad, and you
- 1:58Speaker 2: get angry again. Then you get jeerless, and you get
- 2:00Speaker 2: some envy. Then you go through all those emotions and
- 2:02Speaker 2: then finally you get to revenge, which is a better feeling,
- 2:06Speaker 2: and that sort of gets you out of that feeling
- 2:07Speaker 2: of hurts. So it's really about moving through those emotions
- 2:09Speaker 2: and coming out the other end of it the hero
- 2:11Speaker 2: of your own story.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Cool, and it starts off with a haunting piece of
- 2:16Speaker 4: piano before going almost bluesy and soulful.
- 2:19Speaker 3: So where did the idea come from? From that piano intro?
- 2:22Speaker 4: And how many tries to say to get it right
- 2:24Speaker 4: because it pitched him so perfectly.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Had a fight with my producer. He didn't want to
- 2:28Speaker 2: do it. He wanted to have guitars. Yeah, we actually
- 2:30Speaker 2: had it by he was like, no shit. So basically
- 2:33Speaker 2: Mike Young from a band called Mother Mother was playing
- 2:35Speaker 2: it in the We're at the Armory Studios in Vancouver
- 2:39Speaker 2: actually where they made a lot of the ACDC stuff.
- 2:42Speaker 2: You know, we were lucky enough while we were there
- 2:43Speaker 2: to use the Young brother's guitars. We use Marcolm's rhythm guitar,
- 2:47Speaker 2: We use Angus's SG on the record. It was really cool.
- 2:51Speaker 2: But Mike was sitting in the me and Michael sort
- 2:54Speaker 2: of working on the vocals for it, and we were
- 2:56Speaker 2: in the Armory and the Army was such a beautiful
- 2:58Speaker 2: sounding space. I think these everyone's making music in that bedroom.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Not everyone, but the studio sound. It was so big
- 3:05Speaker 2: and it's known for its amphitheater type sound and he
- 3:09Speaker 2: was just sort of playing the chords while he was
- 3:10Speaker 2: sort of warming himself up on it, and I heard
- 3:12Speaker 2: it through the in the back and I like just went,
- 3:15Speaker 2: what is that? And I bolted down to the back
- 3:17Speaker 2: of the studio and he was just sort of just
- 3:19Speaker 2: just playing around, and I went, that's the start. That
- 3:21Speaker 2: is the freaking start. And my producer was like, no,
- 3:25Speaker 2: pianos are gay, no way, and I'm like, he's like,
- 3:27Speaker 2: we're playing guitar because he's a guitar player. Yeah, that
- 3:30Speaker 2: sounds amazing and I want to try it. So he
- 3:33Speaker 2: was like like this fine, and then he was like
- 3:37Speaker 2: I'm really glad I came up with that.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I took the credit straight up.
- 3:44Speaker 2: It works really Ryan, and you definitely came up with that.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Yeah, it works well because I'm like you, like, I
- 3:49Speaker 4: don't I'm not a big fan of the ballad its
- 3:51Speaker 4: full stop, but the piano in that one, and then
- 3:54Speaker 4: the guitar.
- 3:54Speaker 3: And then then the way you do it like.
- 3:56Speaker 4: It he combines to make it. It's a rock ballad,
- 3:59Speaker 4: you know, like without being rockets. It's hard to describe it.
- 4:02Speaker 3: It's really well done, Thank you so much.
- 4:04Speaker 2: It has a great guitar solo in it, because you
- 4:06Speaker 2: know I love my guitar solos. I don't think there's
- 4:08Speaker 2: enough in anything. I've always said this sometimes too much
- 4:11Speaker 2: Like at the beginning of that song, it didn't lend
- 4:13Speaker 2: itself to a guitar. It lended itself to something a
- 4:15Speaker 2: bit more haunting, because it's a haunting feeling being her.
- 4:18Speaker 2: It's a lonely, weird feeling when you feel like you're
- 4:21Speaker 2: on your own. So yeah, I think it's it's a
- 4:23Speaker 2: beautiful piece. And I have Mike Young from mother mother
- 4:25Speaker 2: to thinks that to thank for that.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Yeah, go if you managed to tap into real emotion
- 4:30Speaker 4: and vulnerability in her too, Like the closest psycho related
- 4:34Speaker 4: to is Mary and faithful.
- 4:35Speaker 3: And that's a compliment because I fucking love her voice.
- 4:37Speaker 3: But you sounded a lot like that.
- 4:38Speaker 4: But did did your inspiration from anyone in particular to
- 4:41Speaker 4: get in that zone or did it all.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Sort of come from within?
- 4:45Speaker 2: What a good question. I've got two things I want
- 4:48Speaker 2: to say to that without breaking k fate, which in
- 4:50Speaker 2: wrestling is when you actually tell people your real name,
- 4:52Speaker 2: and anyone that knows me, anyone that knows me will
- 4:57Speaker 2: know that that very unfaithful comment is actually very interesting.
- 5:00Speaker 2: So yeah, I was actually named after very unfaithful. When
- 5:04Speaker 2: I was born, my mum named me after her, So
- 5:05Speaker 2: there you go. But for this song, but for this song,
- 5:09Speaker 2: for me, I really liked if you think back to
- 5:12Speaker 2: those like really sexy songs from you know, the I
- 5:16Speaker 2: want to say nineties, obviously when I was one or
- 5:18Speaker 2: two years old. So I've wrote this song that the
- 5:22Speaker 2: one of the big motivations for it, and the sound
- 5:25Speaker 2: that I really liked was a band called Glory Box.
- 5:28Speaker 2: They had They had a band called Porter's Head back
- 5:30Speaker 2: in the day. They had a really sexy but really
- 5:32Speaker 2: rocky type song, and they also had another band they
- 5:35Speaker 2: have They have a song called I Can Be Your Whore.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I'm trying to find who they are. I think it's
- 5:40Speaker 2: in this moment. They're really really heavy, but they but
- 5:43Speaker 2: they have this this sexiness and sultriness about it that's
- 5:47Speaker 2: still you know, you could make love to it and
- 5:50Speaker 2: fight to it at the same time. And they're like
- 5:51Speaker 2: my two favorite things to do in that order, no
- 5:55Speaker 2: particular order.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Herd follows on from your previous single like a Man,
- 6:02Speaker 4: and it showcases a completely different side to your musical psyche,
- 6:05Speaker 4: So with.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Those songs chosen for that reason or did it just
- 6:08Speaker 3: work out that way.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Everyone calls me a genius, but I don't think I am.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I just like a man.
- 6:15Speaker 3: For me was really important, like I spoke to you
- 6:17Speaker 3: last time.
- 6:17Speaker 2: For me, I just I wrote a song that everybody
- 6:19Speaker 2: was like, you can't write that song, so that I'm like, well,
- 6:22Speaker 2: that's the first song I'm putting out because I'm going
- 6:24Speaker 2: to do whatever I want, whenever I want, as much
- 6:25Speaker 2: as i want, for as long as i want, unapologetically.
- 6:28Speaker 2: And the second someone says you can't do that, that's
- 6:30Speaker 2: the antithesis to rock and roll, Like rock and roll
- 6:32Speaker 2: supposed to be unapologetic. So I'm like, well, if you're
- 6:36Speaker 2: all afraid of me putting your song out, I'm putting
- 6:37Speaker 2: it out. And with Hurt, it was a little bit different.
- 6:40Speaker 2: It was like, this is a great song, but don't
- 6:42Speaker 2: put a ballot out like keep keep it light, keep
- 6:45Speaker 2: it fluffy, keep it girly, keep it pop starry, and
- 6:49Speaker 2: have that as part of your record. And when people
- 6:50Speaker 2: say that to me, I mean not that I'm unmanageable,
- 6:52Speaker 2: but I was just like, guys, this everyone's hurting in
- 6:55Speaker 2: the world right now. It's a beautiful song. I have
- 6:56Speaker 2: a great music video for it. I do tend to
- 6:59Speaker 2: have a lot of people having a lot of opinions
- 7:01Speaker 2: about what I should do as an artist, and I
- 7:03Speaker 2: think an artist's job is when they finish a song,
- 7:05Speaker 2: to get it out. Someone asked me the other day
- 7:08Speaker 2: when is a song finished, and I said, when it's out,
- 7:11Speaker 2: because we consider on it for so freaking long and
- 7:14Speaker 2: trying to think what could be better, what could we improve,
- 7:17Speaker 2: what melody should be, that we should take that bit
- 7:18Speaker 2: of guitar out. So I believe an artist's job, our
- 7:22Speaker 2: service to the world, is to get the art out.
- 7:25Speaker 2: So I had I was sitting on it and it
- 7:27Speaker 2: was like, wait another year, and I'm like, oh, look different.
- 7:30Speaker 2: I won't have the same body or I don't have
- 7:32Speaker 2: the same teeth I had, but I made that a
- 7:34Speaker 2: different teeth. So I just got it out and yeah,
- 7:42Speaker 2: and it's been really well received. We've had some great
- 7:46Speaker 2: feedback from it, so I'm super excited. I just wanted
- 7:48Speaker 2: to touch people and more over, like I don't I'm
- 7:51Speaker 2: not writing it for somebody else. I'm writing it for me.
- 7:53Speaker 2: And then you know, industry gets involved. Producers get involved,
- 7:55Speaker 2: managers get involved, everybody gets involved, and they tell you
- 8:00Speaker 2: what your art should do, and we forget what we're doing.
- 8:03Speaker 2: At the end of the day. All of the songwriters,
- 8:05Speaker 2: all the people I know that started writing music, was
- 8:07Speaker 2: because they wanted to get they wanted to say something,
- 8:09Speaker 2: They wanted to play with their friends, and they want
- 8:11Speaker 2: to have fun. And all of a sudden, we have
- 8:14Speaker 2: all these rules around music and all these rules around
- 8:16Speaker 2: art and how when we're supposed to put things out,
- 8:18Speaker 2: and how many numbers we're supposed to have and how
- 8:19Speaker 2: many listeners makes you successful, and it just rips all
- 8:23Speaker 2: the freak and joy out of the act of creation,
- 8:25Speaker 2: which is why we do it in the first place.
- 8:27Speaker 2: So that's why I didn't listen and I just put
- 8:28Speaker 2: it out.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Well said well sad Indeed, Now both of the songs
- 8:33Speaker 4: are taken from your forthcoming album. So are they a
- 8:35Speaker 4: good slightly representation, what do you expect or they just
- 8:38Speaker 4: scratch a surface?
- 8:39Speaker 2: Well, they scratch the surface that if we're looking at
- 8:42Speaker 2: what my fundamental music is, it's you know, I have
- 8:45Speaker 2: that really gritty rock sound and a lot of my
- 8:47Speaker 2: songs are very positive. They are very good gritty rock.
- 8:50Speaker 2: It's very that ACDC sound. It's got a lot of
- 8:52Speaker 2: that feel to it. But I also pulled from places
- 8:55Speaker 2: like Lincoln Park. I also play pull from places. Like
- 8:58Speaker 2: I mentioned before, Porter said, pull from a lot of
- 9:00Speaker 2: different places. So there's a lot you've got to expect
- 9:02Speaker 2: from this record. But at the end of the day,
- 9:04Speaker 2: it's it's it's rock and roll at its heart. But
- 9:07Speaker 2: I want to be fun and playful, but a motive
- 9:09Speaker 2: and move you, and I want it to be away
- 9:11Speaker 2: when when the album fully drops, it's going to be
- 9:13Speaker 2: a story over time, and it's going to be the
- 9:16Speaker 2: way I want it to be done, not the way
- 9:18Speaker 2: everybody else has it should be done.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Can you tell us more about it? Like will it
- 9:21Speaker 3: be out this year? If you've got to work in
- 9:23Speaker 3: title for it.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Yet, I'm not telling you the title. I know you
- 9:25Speaker 2: don't care. You don't care anyway, I have like i've
- 9:34Speaker 2: i've as I developed as an artist. My idea is
- 9:37Speaker 2: develop what that looks like. So I've got a new
- 9:38Speaker 2: single coming out. It'll be out in September. We're just
- 9:41Speaker 2: filming a music video for it and we're going to
- 9:43Speaker 2: do some gigs around that. So I've got a new band,
- 9:45Speaker 2: new single coming out, and that's called Looking Good and
- 9:48Speaker 2: Feeling Famous. So it's moving back into that. Let's go yere.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Nice, nice nice. The album is in vodka. I'll not
- 9:59Speaker 3: judging it all. We touched on this a little bit
- 10:02Speaker 3: book before.
- 10:03Speaker 4: But the album was recorded at Armory Studios in Vancouver.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Like that's a fuck load of a long way to
- 10:08Speaker 4: go just to record an album.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Yeah, when I was setting out to make it, you know,
- 10:14Speaker 2: my first record was with a brilliant producer here in
- 10:16Speaker 2: Australia called Steve James. I worked with him at Red
- 10:19Speaker 2: Engine in Queensland. He was incredible for my career and
- 10:22Speaker 2: helped me develop my ideas as an artist. But during COVID,
- 10:26Speaker 2: I wanted something different, so I reached out to and
- 10:29Speaker 2: obviously we became a global We became global as well.
- 10:32Speaker 2: It wasn't like you had to work with someone in
- 10:34Speaker 2: Melbourne or Sydney if you lived there. You could go
- 10:36Speaker 2: wherever and you could work online. So I just reached
- 10:38Speaker 2: out to. I looked up all my favorite records. I
- 10:40Speaker 2: think I told you this before, my favorite records. I
- 10:42Speaker 2: got all the producers for them, and I found Brian
- 10:44Speaker 2: who was who was in Canada. We had a zoom call.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I just loved his vibe and then he said, look,
- 10:49Speaker 2: if you want to do this, you're gonna have to
- 10:50Speaker 2: come to Canada. So I was like okay. Everyone was like,
- 10:54Speaker 2: you go to Canada. I'm like, yeah, I'm just gonna
- 10:55Speaker 2: go to Canada for six months. So it's just where
- 10:58Speaker 2: my heart was taking me. And I think that's that's
- 10:59Speaker 2: the heart of an artist, like nothing can get in
- 11:01Speaker 2: your way once you make up your mind.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 4: I was touched on this bit before too, but ac
- 11:06Speaker 4: DC and Kids are among the bands who have cut albums.
- 11:08Speaker 3: There, Like is is it real?
- 11:10Speaker 4: Like can you sense that history when you're in there?
- 11:12Speaker 4: Or is that just something that you use those make
- 11:14Speaker 4: up to keep us normal, fake excited? Like can you
- 11:17Speaker 4: feel the vibe.
- 11:18Speaker 2: In the absolutely? Like I work with Mike Fraser, who
- 11:21Speaker 2: did the was the engineer for lots of the ACDC work, right,
- 11:26Speaker 2: see his presence in that studio from working with those guys,
- 11:29Speaker 2: you you feel it when you walk in. And you
- 11:31Speaker 2: know a great story when I met Mike because they
- 11:35Speaker 2: didn't get to find I didn't get to meet him,
- 11:36Speaker 2: but I got We sort of missed each other so
- 11:39Speaker 2: I left a pair of underwear on the sound studio
- 11:41Speaker 2: and just said love, envy you. So then he was like,
- 11:44Speaker 2: oh and he apparently warm on his head for a
- 11:46Speaker 2: few days. So that's how that's how I got to
- 11:48Speaker 2: meet me. But you know, when you go in, you
- 11:51Speaker 2: know in the control room, they have like all the
- 11:54Speaker 2: day sheets. So they've got like the Kiss Stay sheet
- 11:56Speaker 2: from the record and what that means is all the
- 11:58Speaker 2: songs and all the vision board for how these records
- 12:00Speaker 2: are going to come together. And they're still up on
- 12:02Speaker 2: the wall. So puddle of mud, Hindu so Kiss, so
- 12:05Speaker 2: Easy DC. Their handwriting is.
- 12:08Speaker 3: On the wall.
- 12:08Speaker 2: They're a part of that building, so you do feel
- 12:11Speaker 2: it when you're in there. And I think nickel Back
- 12:13Speaker 2: love more hate them or hate them. They you know,
- 12:16Speaker 2: they did a lot of work there too, and they've
- 12:18Speaker 2: got all their handwriting is on the wall. Pictures of
- 12:21Speaker 2: them are there. They've left stuff behind, They've left guitars behind.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Mentioned before that we used our anger Shung's sg on
- 12:27Speaker 2: this next song and it sounds like it. We use
- 12:29Speaker 2: markam Young's guitar on this song and it sounds like it.
- 12:32Speaker 2: You know, I mean, because we're we're encapsulating history, and
- 12:35Speaker 2: we're putting it into the records. We're not just playing
- 12:38Speaker 2: at home. We're doing something that's that's that has history
- 12:43Speaker 2: in it, which I love.
- 12:44Speaker 3: That's cool.
- 12:45Speaker 4: You spoke about your new band before, like if you've
- 12:47Speaker 4: got a separate band, the session band that did the
- 12:49Speaker 4: album and another band.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Absolutely, because you know, ask anyone that works in the
- 12:54Speaker 2: music industry, and you know, drums can take a long
- 12:56Speaker 2: time if you're recording them. So we've a guy that
- 12:58Speaker 2: can bash it out in two days. And Robin Diaz
- 13:01Speaker 2: is an absolute monster and I recently played. He was
- 13:04Speaker 2: in Live and Doubt, Try and work with Britney Spears
- 13:06Speaker 2: and so forth. Inn Avri Lavine he got fired from
- 13:09Speaker 2: her record, but I won't tell you why and he
- 13:11Speaker 2: won't go into details. So you know, I did a
- 13:14Speaker 2: you know, I share with him in La at the
- 13:16Speaker 2: start of the year. And this guy's just a monster like.
- 13:18Speaker 2: He hits hard, he's a vampire like. But I can't
- 13:23Speaker 2: take guys like that with me to play at the
- 13:25Speaker 2: Corner Hotel. I'd love to, but so I had Fede.
- 13:29Speaker 2: He's with Sebastian Bark at the moment. He's touring with them.
- 13:32Speaker 2: He came out and played with me. But you know,
- 13:34Speaker 2: I can't get the guys from Uruguay and La to
- 13:37Speaker 2: come play at the Corner Hotel with me as much
- 13:39Speaker 2: as I'd like to. So I think that I live
- 13:41Speaker 2: in Melbourne and I'm a very lucky girl. I still
- 13:43Speaker 2: believe that Melbourne is the home of rock and roll
- 13:44Speaker 2: in Australia. I still believe that Saint Kilda is still
- 13:47Speaker 2: one of the homes of rocks in Australia. Whatever anyone says,
- 13:49Speaker 2: that we have amazing musicians here in Melbourne and Australia,
- 13:52Speaker 2: we're very lucky to have them. So, yeah, I'm going
- 13:55Speaker 2: to partner with some of the world's best here, and
- 13:56Speaker 2: yeah we're going to rock the stage.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Nice said, when will you be rocking in that particular stage?
- 14:01Speaker 3: You got any shows coming up?
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yeah? Well, I was going to hold it off and
- 14:04Speaker 2: not do anything this year until the rest of the
- 14:06Speaker 2: record was out, but we're I want to do this show.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I think it's going to be a great show we're
- 14:10Speaker 2: going to do. I want to see the Tina Turn musical.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I don't know if anyone's seen it, but it's freaking amazing.
- 14:16Speaker 2: It's just incredible. We had a Majescy's Theater here and
- 14:18Speaker 2: it was just brilliant. And the singer from that roover
- 14:21Speaker 2: who played Tina, she's going to be doing joining some
- 14:24Speaker 2: Melbourne musicians, some of the incredible guys here, a guy
- 14:26Speaker 2: from Kingswood, a guy from Dead City Ruins, and a
- 14:29Speaker 2: couple other guys here, and they're going to put together
- 14:32Speaker 2: this big show and they're going to play the whole
- 14:34Speaker 2: Back on Black album from start to finish, I think
- 14:37Speaker 2: the anniversary. So I'm going to open for them, so
- 14:39Speaker 2: I couldn't say no to that. I think it's a
- 14:41Speaker 2: wonderful opportunity and I love a CDC and I think
- 14:43Speaker 2: think what they're doing is awesome. The crowd's got to
- 14:45Speaker 2: be great. So we're going to bring our flavor to
- 14:48Speaker 2: the Corner Hotel on November the second, and I think
- 14:51Speaker 2: tickets are going on sale in August at the end
- 14:53Speaker 2: of August, so keep an eye out for that.
- 14:55Speaker 3: You're going to jump up and do any acadaka songs
- 14:57Speaker 3: for that.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I'm going to My band's going to open, so we're
- 14:59Speaker 2: going to see our songs. But I probably look at
- 15:02Speaker 2: my arm twisted. It's pretty ubbery when it comes back at.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Yeah, which one you reckin? You'd seeing? Is the attitude
- 15:07Speaker 3: is one of them.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I like hold it a rosy I just like screaming
- 15:10Speaker 2: and I love I love Bond like Brian's a bit
- 15:12Speaker 2: high for me. And if you can tell my voice,
- 15:13Speaker 2: but I'm I'm a bluesy voice and Brian's not. It's
- 15:19Speaker 2: not my natural stage.
- 15:20Speaker 4: You're not Scottish, so the message that up straight away heritage.
- 15:25Speaker 4: I didn't say you didn't have heritage. I said you're
- 15:27Speaker 4: not Scottish because you haven't got a hat on.
- 15:28Speaker 3: I'm not Scottish.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Now before I let you go this time, mate, I
- 15:33Speaker 4: don't think I did this with you last time. But
- 15:35Speaker 4: I've got a new segment called photo Bomb, so excellently
- 15:38Speaker 4: imtrolled through your social media.
- 15:39Speaker 3: I'm got a couple of photos that I want to
- 15:41Speaker 3: know a little bit more about. So hah, there's nothing
- 15:45Speaker 3: too bad.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I thought I put it on private.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I know I've got you girl. It's done.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Caught my eye because I think it's the only photo
- 15:53Speaker 4: I've ever seen of Chris Marrick when he's not doing
- 15:55Speaker 4: the battle.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Oh look at him, and he's not talking either.
- 16:03Speaker 3: It's incredible that two things that he always does, and.
- 16:07Speaker 2: His mouth's closed. It's crazy. I didn't even I didn't
- 16:10Speaker 2: recognize him.
- 16:11Speaker 3: That must be the perfect shot because everybody close for
- 16:14Speaker 3: two seconds.
- 16:15Speaker 2: What is my mouth doing? And I have I forgotten
- 16:17Speaker 2: how to chew gum. I don't know what's happening there.
- 16:19Speaker 4: I think you try to you try to be it
- 16:21Speaker 4: either the week you look and you're not pulling it off.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Very well, thank you so much.
- 16:25Speaker 2: I appreciate I appreciate the roast.
- 16:28Speaker 3: So what's the story with that? But what were you doing? Ah?
- 16:31Speaker 2: That was first got signed to Dinner for Wolves before
- 16:34Speaker 2: COVID and I had a record out as Steve James
- 16:37Speaker 2: and Rick and Chris took me on and helped me
- 16:40Speaker 2: promote my first record and as a label. So that
- 16:43Speaker 2: was freaking awesome. Actually, I was very excited.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Champion Blake Chee christ Any.
- 16:48Speaker 4: The Australian music scene would be nowhere near where it
- 16:50Speaker 4: is without without him.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Yes, like he he's definitely a wizard. Like if he
- 16:55Speaker 2: has advice, we take it, you know. And I think, yeah,
- 16:59Speaker 2: he's definitely is the old vet now. But we need them, we.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Need them all right. This one. I had to dig
- 17:06Speaker 4: this one out because it looks mister Gleason has had
- 17:13Speaker 4: a future many sherbets in this one.
- 17:15Speaker 2: I can't even I don't even know what you' oh
- 17:17Speaker 2: my god, my face.
- 17:21Speaker 3: How many drinks as Dave had?
- 17:24Speaker 2: When was that? Don't tell me the day. I'm trying
- 17:27Speaker 2: to think. I'm pretty sure this is probably either this
- 17:29Speaker 2: was in Adelaide. Actually, I think they was Baby Animals,
- 17:33Speaker 2: and I think this is just before I moved to
- 17:36Speaker 2: Melbourne and they played at the Gove, and I remember
- 17:40Speaker 2: that was the night that I met Susy Marti for
- 17:42Speaker 2: the first time and she told me to move to Melbourne.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Gause, what are you doing here?
- 17:49Speaker 2: If you're in a rock band moved to get to Sitney?
- 17:51Speaker 2: You Melbourne or something? I'm like, yes, Queen, packed your
- 17:55Speaker 2: bags and left. Yeah, And I'm just trying to think,
- 17:57Speaker 2: what what what, just trying to think what night. I
- 18:00Speaker 2: think I'm definitely sure it was the Guve because I
- 18:01Speaker 2: can see the red wall, so I'm thinking it's the
- 18:03Speaker 2: Gove after the show, and potentially this is when I
- 18:06Speaker 2: left my phone inside and everybody had already gone back
- 18:09Speaker 2: to the hotel's back to run back, and all the
- 18:11Speaker 2: doors were locked, so I kicked the security door down,
- 18:14Speaker 2: and I went back in and got my phone, set
- 18:15Speaker 2: the alarm off, and then I ran back to the hotel.
- 18:19Speaker 4: I reckon he's either had a shot at green shit
- 18:21Speaker 4: Trees just before that was taken, or or Dave's been prying,
- 18:24Speaker 4: because you're very, very glassy eyest.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I think that's probably just meditation. And Jesus Christ, yeah,
- 18:30Speaker 2: I don't think there's any involved at all. Like I
- 18:32Speaker 2: think they're both god fearing people, so.
- 18:35Speaker 4: I'm going to I'm not going to crest of that
- 18:37Speaker 4: at all because two people in this Lord, I don't
- 18:39Speaker 4: want to fight at.
- 18:40Speaker 3: You and Dave. Yeah, look at us, we look so tough.
- 18:44Speaker 3: It's great. I love doing the fighting. There's so much
- 18:48Speaker 3: good stuff from that. Actually, got that's it.
- 18:50Speaker 4: Only do to itwise, But I will be speaking to
- 18:54Speaker 4: you again, so there'll be more. But in the meantime,
- 18:56Speaker 4: the song Hurt is out now, and it's a really
- 18:59Speaker 4: good song.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Man, I'm not from your pocket. I really enjoyed it.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Thank you so much, Chris. It's awesome to be here
- 19:03Speaker 2: and thanks again. You're so much fun.
- 19:05Speaker 3: I love it.
- 19:22Speaker 5: I know it's wrong, but I like the way you hurt. No,
- 19:29Speaker 5: it's bad that I wanted to be worse. You tried
- 19:35Speaker 5: a million times, but you just.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Can't stay away.
- 19:41Speaker 6: Because I can't get without the pay.

- 20:04Speaker 7: I give you just a little taste. How you think
- 20:08Speaker 7: you can't get worse? I don't make you hurt? Who
- 20:15Speaker 7: who I'll make you hurt?
- 20:25Speaker 1: I want to play him? So come to me tonight when.
- 20:32Speaker 5: I get my way here, you'll do everything I like.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I'm the best you ever had, and I'm always in.
- 20:42Speaker 7: Your head because I'm on your soul and it's bad cool.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Like yours said, I said, you'll do it everything I say,
- 20:58Speaker 1: So said, I'll make you don't know wicked ways, Sam.
- 21:03Speaker 6: I know you won me, babe, I know you need me.
- 21:07Speaker 6: I give it just a little taste.
- 21:11Speaker 1: You think you can't get worse.
- 21:14Speaker 6: I can't make you, can't make you.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yours said, said you don't say so, so said, I
- 21:49Speaker 1: make you su weet with Sam.
- 21:54Speaker 6: I know you wom me, babe, I know you need me.
- 21:57Speaker 6: I give it just a little take what you think
- 22:02Speaker 6: you can get.
