- 0:10Speaker 1: My times, and don't just want to work a body.
- 0:18Speaker 2: That you said, she just them become all of our questions.
- 0:23Speaker 2: There they are, what's going on? Everybody? I'm the one,
- 0:25Speaker 2: the only w o okay, I e joined here by
- 0:29Speaker 2: my normal cast of misfits. We have the draftscore of
- 0:32Speaker 2: the Draft score drazz Corps. Hey, guys, how's it going?
- 0:37Speaker 3: We got the Draft Scorer scoring DM. So get out
- 0:40Speaker 3: there and find out how poorly how sleepy are your dragons?
- 0:47Speaker 2: They're pretty sleepy.
- 0:48Speaker 3: I think you know, I might have underrated a couple
- 0:50Speaker 3: of these cards. I was like, man, that thing just
- 0:52Speaker 3: stays exhausted. That's not worth any any draft score points.
- 0:56Speaker 3: But I just quickly did it myself. Well, we're gonna
- 0:59Speaker 3: do it all the show together and and get a
- 1:01Speaker 3: little better. But if you don't look our scores, you
- 1:04Speaker 3: can go and generate. As long as you have a
- 1:07Speaker 3: log in, you can generate the my score and scoring
- 1:12Speaker 3: on decks.
- 1:13Speaker 2: So I just scored my deck and it is a
- 1:16Speaker 2: one ninety.
- 1:18Speaker 3: That is probably false unless you bumped all your cards.
- 1:23Speaker 3: I might have don't look at me, don't look at
- 1:26Speaker 3: me in that tone, sound sounds like a thing you
- 1:29Speaker 3: might have done.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Who else we got here. Oh, we have the man
- 1:31Speaker 2: who's in a van down by the river, doctor m sheep.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Yeah, it is the river on this highway.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're in a van. I have told nole
- 1:44Speaker 2: eyes and we have the Elwaukie as DV Walks Ewok Jr.
- 1:49Speaker 5: Hello, keyboards, community, Glad to be here this evening?
- 1:53Speaker 4: Is that time for a nicer than already walk?
- 1:56Speaker 2: You think, who's is he? Like? The second? Is he?
- 2:02Speaker 2: Is he? The is he? The what? What can we
- 2:06Speaker 2: call him? Ewok? Deuce? The deuce?
- 2:09Speaker 6: I mean he's not short enough, he's not airy enough. Yeah,
- 2:14Speaker 6: it's just not the most walk.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Well would you?
- 2:19Speaker 5: It depends on what you're looking at. Ewoks are a
- 2:21Speaker 5: very jovial group. There you are. I don't know.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Jovial is an interesting term for ewoks. I don't know
- 2:27Speaker 2: if I've ever used that that term to describe my ewoks.
- 2:31Speaker 5: But they're happy little critters that go around and poke
- 2:35Speaker 5: people the stick who annoy him. So get moving though, Okay,
- 2:39Speaker 5: people with a stick.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Now I understand why you're an e walk.
- 2:42Speaker 2: There we go, perfect, But we've got some stuff to
- 2:46Speaker 2: go over today. It has been revealed. Actually, y'all should
- 2:50Speaker 2: be getting your d M. So me and Drascar earlier
- 2:54Speaker 2: were singing chaer because we are believing, we are choosing
- 2:57Speaker 2: to believe that UPS will deliver your DM tomorrow.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Oh is that when yours is expected?
- 3:04Speaker 2: Dress tomorrow?
- 3:06Speaker 3: Yet says by nine pm according to UPS, if.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You're not getting it tomorrow.
- 3:12Speaker 5: I received a beautiful notification and I was super excited.
- 3:16Speaker 5: And that was yesterday or two days ago. It was
- 3:21Speaker 5: two days ago because it was right before locals, or
- 3:25Speaker 5: it might have been Monday. And I'm like, all right,
- 3:27Speaker 5: good news. Yeah, it still hasn't made it to the
- 3:31Speaker 5: out of the warehouse, to the actual shipping depot.
- 3:34Speaker 3: So wait, it said you got just a notification in general,
- 3:37Speaker 3: or it actually had two days ago date.
- 3:40Speaker 5: It had it had a date that's there in the warehouse.
- 3:43Speaker 5: It has not been shipped out yet. So it said
- 3:47Speaker 5: it was going to arrive at your house. No, no, no, no,
- 3:50Speaker 5: it's said that it's I had that you're it's prepared,
- 3:53Speaker 5: has been prepared.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Okay, So you didn't have a date.
- 3:56Speaker 5: No no, no, but that was two days ago, and
- 3:58Speaker 5: so you're super excited and then you go. So I
- 4:01Speaker 5: left it. I tracked my order and the beautiful tracking
- 4:05Speaker 5: of my shipment says wah wah wah.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Yep, yeah, it's giant files. They may have just not
- 4:13Speaker 4: scanned yours in its own the.
- 4:15Speaker 5: Way this this is true. It says shipping label created
- 4:20Speaker 5: and it tells me where and that is it. So
- 4:23Speaker 5: either USPS is messed up or GG is messed up,
- 4:26Speaker 5: or frankly both has or it just was scanned in
- 4:29Speaker 5: and hasn't done anything more. I was really hoping to
- 4:32Speaker 5: have an early birthday present, guys, or right now I'm
- 4:34Speaker 5: hoping just for it to arrive on my birthday. But
- 4:38Speaker 5: I don't think that's gonna happen. So I'm excited. We'll
- 4:40Speaker 5: see some Draconian measures or drazz. I think, in honor
- 4:44Speaker 5: of you, we need to call it the drazz Korean measures.
- 4:50Speaker 2: It would be the draz Conian measures. Yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Yeah, for a br the last time my ABR team name.
- 4:58Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, I'm fine with this dress Coonian measure.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I've always found that whatever UPS says it's going to
- 5:06Speaker 2: be delivered by nine pm, that I'm not getting it
- 5:09Speaker 2: for a couple of days because no UPS drivers work
- 5:12Speaker 2: until nine pm. Yeah.
- 5:16Speaker 3: I think they just the you know, they don't know
- 5:19Speaker 3: what time, so they just put.
- 5:21Speaker 2: You know, a late time.
- 5:23Speaker 3: It's just a placeholder, which is why I'm I'm suspicious
- 5:29Speaker 3: whether or not it's actually gonna.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I was suspicious at one time. Amazon told me it
- 5:33Speaker 2: would be delivered between four and eight am, and I
- 5:36Speaker 2: was like, nobody works like that, and then it was here.
- 5:38Speaker 2: But you know, whatever it is, what it is. But
- 5:43Speaker 2: we will believe for you and believe for everyone else
- 5:46Speaker 2: that you guys, I'll get your DM tomorrow and you
- 5:49Speaker 2: can tell you sleepy your dragons are on the next episode.
- 5:54Speaker 5: Are you guys excited to play some new a new set, Like,
- 5:57Speaker 5: I feel like this has been really long time coming
- 6:00Speaker 5: and I'm very excited to play something new.
- 6:03Speaker 2: So yes, I feel like I'm excited to play something new,
- 6:06Speaker 2: But that feeling will try to dissipate extraordinarily quickly.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I just like, I'm afraid that these sealed decks
- 6:16Speaker 4: are not going to live up to the I had a.
- 6:19Speaker 6: Good sealed deck and KFC, so I didn't hate my playing,
- 6:24Speaker 6: but I know a lot of other people are like,
- 6:26Speaker 6: that was a.
- 6:26Speaker 5: Bys Boh, let me be very Let me be very
- 6:32Speaker 5: clear that any deck is going to be better than
- 6:35Speaker 5: what I had. At KFC. So that's that's how I'm
- 6:37Speaker 5: looking at this again. Jovial is really happening. I don't
- 6:43Speaker 5: think it can be any worse.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Them with sticks, Yes, me too, was absolutely atrocious, and
- 6:59Speaker 2: I would I was at the foot where I'm like,
- 7:01Speaker 2: if I never see this again, I would be happy.
- 7:06Speaker 5: There and amber Sky's decks that are the same though,
- 7:09Speaker 5: you just open them and you're like, uh yeah.
- 7:13Speaker 6: The deck that I won for going three to O
- 7:15Speaker 6: and sealed, I had heat play and uh, it was atrocious.
- 7:22Speaker 6: I don't know, but PJRS deck it was also really bad.
- 7:28Speaker 5: See this, you just have to look at reversal decks.
- 7:31Speaker 5: There you go, boys reversal.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a format that no longer exists.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Like DM a reversal set.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Uh.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I mean when I played at CAFC, the deck that
- 7:43Speaker 3: I play, I had a ton of fun with. I Uh.
- 7:47Speaker 3: It wasn't like an amazing, amazing deck, but it was
- 7:49Speaker 3: enough to go three to zero. And then I got
- 7:51Speaker 3: another deck which was not nearly as good.
- 7:55Speaker 2: But I'm I'm hopeful. I am hopeful that you're because
- 8:01Speaker 2: of the amount of money you got put into it.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Well, that is true, it's not false. I have I
- 8:08Speaker 3: have a lot of sleepy dragons coming my way. But yeah,
- 8:14Speaker 3: I don't have a huge amount of hope that it's
- 8:15Speaker 3: actually gonna that many people are going to be playing
- 8:18Speaker 3: it in an ARCon, But I'm hoping that is a fun,
- 8:21Speaker 3: sealed set. That is really what I'm hoping for.
- 8:25Speaker 2: We also got our look at the I keep wanting
- 8:30Speaker 2: to call it Kansas City, and it's wrong because the
- 8:32Speaker 2: state it's Saint Louis.
- 8:33Speaker 5: But I'm going to tell you before you get there.
- 8:36Speaker 5: Our locals is doing it right with a little key rarium.
- 8:40Speaker 5: So shout out to Pete. Man, Pete's knocking this out
- 8:43Speaker 5: of the water. Have you boys seen the key rarium?
- 8:50Speaker 2: I have glanced at it. What just a glance, just
- 8:54Speaker 2: a glance at the current time.
- 8:56Speaker 5: Oh man, Okay, well you're just us and out.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Wow.
- 9:00Speaker 5: But I think it's I think it's a good way
- 9:02Speaker 5: to be able to have an interest in being able
- 9:11Speaker 5: to play with your new decks. So whether you're super excited,
- 9:14Speaker 5: whether you're in the middle, whether you like instead of
- 9:17Speaker 5: just cracking open, wow, donation there.
- 9:25Speaker 2: She's running people over. Don't worry about it.
- 9:27Speaker 5: Yeah, oh my god. Yeah, it also comes with a
- 9:33Speaker 5: sweet little picture that Pete put together. It's such a
- 9:36Speaker 5: cute little ewok.
- 9:37Speaker 2: And you can get your CIM shirts right now over
- 9:41Speaker 2: at spreadshirt dot com. Along with you can get your
- 9:46Speaker 2: your Vaultman or Vaults Tour shirts over there as well.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Vault Vault something. Yeah, Vault Tour, that's what I meant
- 9:54Speaker 2: to say.
- 9:55Speaker 5: The team jerseys, team shirts.
- 9:57Speaker 2: No, those, you can't get those. You got to be
- 9:59Speaker 2: a part of the AC team to get those.
- 10:02Speaker 5: Okay, because we're so restrictive in keeping everyone out.
- 10:06Speaker 2: We don't just let any we don't just let anyone in. Okay.
- 10:13Speaker 2: It is a tight knit, closed group. But we did
- 10:17Speaker 2: get our first look at what we will be getting
- 10:20Speaker 2: in Saint Louis. Our picture, our lithograph. H what is
- 10:26Speaker 2: it going to be?
- 10:27Speaker 5: Boys sadness?
- 10:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it's future Booster.
- 10:32Speaker 5: You know.
- 10:32Speaker 2: They were really hitting it and then they went with
- 10:34Speaker 2: future Booster. I don't know what goes into these decisions we're.
- 10:42Speaker 5: Getting again in Portland that there is an actual article
- 10:48Speaker 5: that literally says this. You got to do a little
- 10:52Speaker 5: bit of reading, just a little now. Gaming our partner
- 10:57Speaker 5: was once the leading organizer Keyboards events, makeing a substantial
- 11:01Speaker 5: impact through their steady and persistent efforts. Much like Future
- 11:05Speaker 5: Booster itself. Saint Louis, their home city, serves as a
- 11:08Speaker 5: center for significant scientific research, housing over seven hundred companies
- 11:13Speaker 5: in STEM disciplines. What better way to pay tribute to
- 11:17Speaker 5: both than by showcasing the unassuming yet powerful Future Booster
- 11:22Speaker 5: clearly stated, I don't think they could do any better
- 11:24Speaker 5: than that.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I feel like all that's a stretch.
- 11:29Speaker 5: I did like the gateway and uh.
- 11:34Speaker 2: To the because options even this first sentence a lie,
- 11:38Speaker 2: key Forge is a future Booster is a silent workhorse
- 11:42Speaker 2: of key Forge stretch stretcht. Yeah, it's it's silent, all right, workhorse.
- 11:52Speaker 2: I'm not one hundred percent sure about it does things?
- 11:56Speaker 2: What's future future was just fine. I don't know about workhorse.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Would you call it a workhorse?
- 12:09Speaker 4: I don't think I would call anything.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Yeah, semantics here boys, semantics. I think that you get
- 12:16Speaker 5: to see some extra details from it.
- 12:18Speaker 4: But yeah, I am not disappointed.
- 12:22Speaker 5: Have Yeah, it's a it's a card, but that is out.
- 12:28Speaker 5: You know what is going to be exciting though going
- 12:29Speaker 5: to Saint Louis.
- 12:30Speaker 2: So Lois will be exciting.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Comes comes to the ball that will be amazing. Uh yeah, yeah, there.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not gonna be I'm gonna be uh work. Yeah,
- 12:47Speaker 2: did you tell them that you couldn't go? I did
- 12:52Speaker 2: tell them that, they were like, I'm not going to
- 12:55Speaker 2: be going.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I did tell them not to do that,
- 13:00Speaker 3: but you know, didn't work. They did not they didn't listen,
- 13:04Speaker 3: so you know it's unfortunate.
- 13:07Speaker 2: All right. Well, with that being said, that's all the
- 13:11Speaker 2: new news we have for this week, so hopefully we
- 13:13Speaker 2: will see some draconian measures pop up. Head over to
- 13:18Speaker 2: the draft score dot com get your draft scores and
- 13:22Speaker 2: then uh then you can also score your own draft scores.
- 13:28Speaker 2: We can go through it, but let's start out with
- 13:32Speaker 2: the AMA question. Yeah, go ahead, got are we all ready?
- 13:38Speaker 2: I'm so ready for this? First question up? Why does
- 13:41Speaker 2: music bookies? This is from Jam. I'm just gonna flat
- 13:45Speaker 2: out call him out and I want I want you
- 13:48Speaker 2: guys to answer, why does wookies taste in music suck
- 13:51Speaker 2: so bad?
- 13:53Speaker 4: Well?
- 13:53Speaker 3: I mean that, I mean I can tell you why, right,
- 13:56Speaker 3: like generation for music, I mean there's that, but I
- 14:03Speaker 3: think it's more like that's just wookies m O. Right,
- 14:07Speaker 3: Like if he doesn't have like bad takes and like
- 14:12Speaker 3: bad opinions.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Then what does he got like?
- 14:15Speaker 3: Nothingonality?
- 14:18Speaker 5: To go ahead? You know your face.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Just's just one more ali he cantroll you.
- 14:24Speaker 2: With I I do like that all right? Well, you
- 14:34Speaker 2: know that's it is a choice and jam you can
- 14:37Speaker 2: choose to be wrong because my generation has some of
- 14:40Speaker 2: the greatest music.
- 14:42Speaker 3: What is your your favorite band? Wookie Like, I don't
- 14:49Speaker 3: even know my favorite. I don't know if I have
- 14:51Speaker 3: a I go through phases.
- 14:54Speaker 5: Backstreet Boys is his favorite.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I went through. I go through my boy band phase.
- 15:01Speaker 5: I'm gonna rest my case right here, man.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Lately, lately, I've been on a I've been back into
- 15:08Speaker 2: a country kick, right but everything, you know, and that
- 15:11Speaker 2: came out of my going back to new metal for
- 15:16Speaker 2: a little bit. Before that was a little bit of
- 15:20Speaker 2: of like a heavier metal, uh, And then I was
- 15:24Speaker 2: I was in a big pop punk and punk stretch
- 15:29Speaker 2: there for a little bit. I'm I'm all over the place.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Right before that was a big hip hop, hip hip
- 15:36Speaker 2: hop and R and B Like, I'm really all over
- 15:39Speaker 2: the place when it comes down to music. And I
- 15:42Speaker 2: go through like these long stretches and maybe not so long,
- 15:45Speaker 2: some longer than others of what I listened to and
- 15:52Speaker 2: it changes, right because like I've been listening, Oh what's
- 15:59Speaker 2: the band of been listening to?
- 16:00Speaker 4: Late?
- 16:00Speaker 2: Like sleep Token was obviously in there for a long time.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Let's see who the hell that I just I forgot
- 16:07Speaker 2: who I was listening to recently, but it was I
- 16:10Speaker 2: was listening to the Home Team. I was listening to
- 16:14Speaker 2: them for quite a while. I'm kind of all over
- 16:17Speaker 2: the place. I'm kind of all over the place. All right,
- 16:22Speaker 2: what new mechanic would you add to an UPCOURM upcoming
- 16:26Speaker 2: KeyForge set? I know my answer to this one MM,
- 16:33Speaker 2: which I think is going to be the most disappointing
- 16:35Speaker 2: of the answers. Well, it's like when you when you
- 16:42Speaker 2: not like none we can go a set or two
- 16:48Speaker 2: without a new mechanic or a new we can't, Yes
- 16:53Speaker 2: we can, It's okay, what do you know?
- 16:57Speaker 3: You know this is this is like the same the
- 17:01Speaker 3: same train of thought where people like, well, we don't
- 17:04Speaker 3: need more than one set of year. It's like you're
- 17:07Speaker 3: going to be so bored a Sleepy Dragons come nine
- 17:10Speaker 3: months from now, right, like we need we need, we
- 17:16Speaker 3: don't need like sets releasing at exactly the same time,
- 17:19Speaker 3: because that that sort of deletes it, but like we
- 17:21Speaker 3: need some multiple sets so we can I'm fine, stuff,
- 17:25Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 17:26Speaker 2: But I don't think we need a new mechanic every set.
- 17:30Speaker 2: I don't feel like we need a new house interesting
- 17:32Speaker 2: every set. I don't feel like we need to like
- 17:35Speaker 2: once a year. I think it's fine, right, No, no
- 17:42Speaker 2: for a new mechanic. Like I really feel like like
- 17:47Speaker 2: last year we should have just focused on on graveyard stuff.
- 17:50Speaker 2: It should have just been grim reminders and the haunted mechanic,
- 17:56Speaker 2: and then this year we could have well, what was
- 17:58Speaker 2: amber Sky's mechanic. It was just kind of have a
- 18:00Speaker 2: lot of a lot of archive hate, right, I don't know.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I don't know, Pips House which actually kind of like
- 18:11Speaker 2: never went away.
- 18:12Speaker 4: And and awful key color stuff.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we could have focused on that this year,
- 18:18Speaker 2: and the next year we could focus on Entrenched. I guess.
- 18:27Speaker 4: No, No, we don't ever need doing focus out in drenched.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Whatever, like you know, we could make it better. So
- 18:33Speaker 2: I don't know, I just think there's so many new
- 18:38Speaker 2: mechanics and and there's just you know, or our next
- 18:42Speaker 2: year we could have focused on.
- 18:47Speaker 4: Okay, then you'd be worn out on these mechanics faster.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Maybe I don't know. I don't think so. But if
- 18:56Speaker 2: you say so, what are your guys is? Uh what
- 19:00Speaker 2: what kind of set mechanics would you add?
- 19:08Speaker 3: I feel like, I mean, this is a tricky one,
- 19:10Speaker 3: right because like I'm not I'm certainly not an experienced
- 19:15Speaker 3: game designer. So but I would say, uh, I know
- 19:23Speaker 3: what I don't want, right, I don't want anything constructed, right,
- 19:27Speaker 3: So don't don't have there some some weird constructed thing.
- 19:32Speaker 4: I like.
- 19:34Speaker 3: It doesn't have to be a thirty seventh card, but
- 19:37Speaker 3: I like the concept of having some thirty seventh card.
- 19:41Speaker 3: It sometimes implemented better than others. It should be interactable, right,
- 19:47Speaker 3: it shouldn't be like this TV thing where there's no
- 19:50Speaker 3: way to do anything about it.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:53Speaker 3: So, but it's a tricky balance, right because then it's like,
- 19:57Speaker 3: you know, Tide wasn't strong enough, but uh, prophecies are
- 20:01Speaker 3: too strong, right, So.
- 20:05Speaker 2: It I get it's tricky, but uh, I don't know.
- 20:14Speaker 3: I don't know what it would be, honestly, Like I
- 20:15Speaker 3: would have to sit down and and the design something
- 20:20Speaker 3: and that is not easy.
- 20:23Speaker 2: No, Elock, what do you want to add to key Forge?
- 20:29Speaker 5: Nothing? I want to slim things down. I want to
- 20:31Speaker 5: be streamlined, sheep, are you adding anything?
- 20:39Speaker 4: I mean again, I'm with drafts.
- 20:41Speaker 6: I am not an experienced game designer. I'm mostly good
- 20:45Speaker 6: and bad ideas. But I think my kids would probably
- 20:51Speaker 6: be continuing to add enhancement stuff and using the other
- 20:56Speaker 6: two now standard tokens to the game, which is in
- 20:59Speaker 6: rate ward, and maybe making those pippable effects. And then
- 21:06Speaker 6: I would probably add some cards into that set that
- 21:11Speaker 6: allowed moving of tokens around, more, more interaction with all
- 21:16Speaker 6: these damn tokens they.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Make us have, Yeah, more that kind style.
- 21:24Speaker 6: Yeah, using tokens as currency, moving tokens to places that
- 21:30Speaker 6: are kind of weird, having them do things.
- 21:32Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 21:34Speaker 5: I think having them go ahead and have currency has
- 21:38Speaker 5: some value. I just think adding more tokens are making
- 21:41Speaker 5: them so that we're moving around.
- 21:43Speaker 4: I don't I don't want to add an additional type of.
- 21:45Speaker 5: Token, I know, but just to use all the tokens that.
- 21:49Speaker 4: We have is using them.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I do.
- 21:54Speaker 5: So.
- 21:55Speaker 3: I don't think this is exactly a set mechanic. But
- 21:57Speaker 3: I did have an interesting idea the other day, so
- 22:00Speaker 3: because I was so, I was thinking about how much
- 22:03Speaker 3: redemption sucks. Right, And I was thinking about as you do,
- 22:07Speaker 3: you like these are things you think about, And I
- 22:10Speaker 3: was thinking about how like just the theme of Redemption
- 22:15Speaker 3: is like this weird like we're mutants, but we hate mutants,
- 22:19Speaker 3: so we have to like self cleanse. And there's a
- 22:22Speaker 3: little bit of that in the set but in the cards.
- 22:26Speaker 3: But I feel like they could have they could have
- 22:29Speaker 3: gone much stronger into that theme if they did something
- 22:33Speaker 3: where it was like a lot of the Redemption mutants
- 22:37Speaker 3: had a fight effect before fight effect and a destroyed effect,
- 22:45Speaker 3: so like their whole thing was like go into battle,
- 22:47Speaker 3: get a benefit, and then sacrifice themselves and you get
- 22:50Speaker 3: some benefit. Like I feel like that would have been
- 22:52Speaker 3: more on point for the theme.
- 22:57Speaker 4: And SI religious cell its.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I mean that's you know, yeah so but
- 23:04Speaker 3: that's sort of what they are, right, So like.
- 23:06Speaker 2: It would be interesting instead of just a bunch of
- 23:09Speaker 2: reprints if they did have something like new yeah and a.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Bunch of just cars I don't do anything right like
- 23:14Speaker 3: get assault for like how many of your neighbors or
- 23:18Speaker 3: something or you know, so.
- 23:21Speaker 5: House Redemption needs to have more impact based, but it
- 23:27Speaker 5: has to have everything has to be related to mute.
- 23:30Speaker 5: I'm going ahead and gaining amber based on my munes.
- 23:33Speaker 5: When I play creatures, I gain amber off of munes.
- 23:36Speaker 5: I'm gaining bonus based on how many mutants are there.
- 23:39Speaker 5: Every there has to be more actions that are there.
- 23:42Speaker 5: It's way too heavy on creatures and it is not
- 23:46Speaker 5: strong enough to be able to balance it was it
- 23:48Speaker 5: was already have.
- 23:50Speaker 6: The facts, but the cost of having to play that
- 23:53Speaker 6: card before you gain that benefit is what makes them awful, because.
- 23:58Speaker 4: If you don't have that card and play immediately.
- 24:01Speaker 6: Like, the only way redemption works with what you're saying
- 24:05Speaker 6: is where it's an art power and it's just like
- 24:08Speaker 6: you have house redemption, which means you now get these
- 24:10Speaker 6: benefits from mutants all the time.
- 24:14Speaker 5: Well, you can go you can go ahead and put
- 24:16Speaker 5: it in your car. Yeah, you can go ahead and
- 24:18Speaker 5: play it in your common slot where you're going to
- 24:20Speaker 5: see it quite a bit more frequently, especially with a
- 24:22Speaker 5: lower car count.
- 24:24Speaker 4: The card still isn't good enough.
- 24:27Speaker 5: Well, I think that's where I think that's what I'm
- 24:29Speaker 5: running into a set design is that you now have
- 24:32Speaker 5: to compete against PV and in order to have something
- 24:36Speaker 5: that's actionable, it has to be competitive enough. And that's
- 24:40Speaker 5: that's frustrating right.
- 24:41Speaker 6: Now, mechanic working in uh mass mutation because it was crosshouse,
- 24:50Speaker 6: all houses were interacting with it.
- 24:52Speaker 4: It sucks in redemption because it's all.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Right and you don't want to have that house.
- 24:59Speaker 3: If the house was actually good then maybe but but
- 25:03Speaker 3: even so, well, but.
- 25:05Speaker 5: You could you could have gone ahead. You just need
- 25:07Speaker 5: a lot more actions that are actionable and have an
- 25:10Speaker 5: impact on the un need good cards. There's like, what
- 25:13Speaker 5: what I'm saying is based on the amount of mutants,
- 25:18Speaker 5: It's going to go ahead and increase the key cost
- 25:20Speaker 5: for this out or I steal based on how many
- 25:22Speaker 5: mutants I have. All of these actions that increase that
- 25:26Speaker 5: have to deal with amber control and have to do
- 25:28Speaker 5: with creature control, and have to do with key increase
- 25:32Speaker 5: or archive ability. All of those things could have been
- 25:35Speaker 5: done but were frankly neglected or not put in the side.
- 25:38Speaker 5: And that's a decision. That's fine, but that is where
- 25:42Speaker 5: that is why you have way too many creatures that
- 25:44Speaker 5: just don't do nearly enough and not enough actions that
- 25:47Speaker 5: support it.
- 25:48Speaker 6: Yeah, but those two things that you're just spreading already
- 25:52Speaker 6: exists in prob are and on tame, and they suck.
- 25:56Speaker 6: There too, because it's that I need to have a
- 26:02Speaker 6: lot of this house on the board for it to
- 26:04Speaker 6: be good. Mechanic is a bad mechanic.
- 26:08Speaker 5: I'm not saying that you have to have our rights. Yeah,
- 26:11Speaker 5: I'm not saying that you have to have a large amount,
- 26:13Speaker 5: but it can go ahead. And here your key cost
- 26:16Speaker 5: is increased by how many mutones you have. Okay, you're
- 26:21Speaker 5: I'm gonna steal based on how many munons. Some of
- 26:23Speaker 5: those can go really crazy, and your ability to play
- 26:26Speaker 5: out munes first and then to play those actions, especially
- 26:28Speaker 5: if you're playing them in a common will have value. Personally,
- 26:32Speaker 5: I would much rather have a choice card, and I
- 26:35Speaker 5: think we've moved away from that. Some of the either
- 26:38Speaker 5: or choices would be helpful to be able to mitigate
- 26:42Speaker 5: some of the frustration that you have when you have
- 26:44Speaker 5: one house. I agree one hundred percent though with what
- 26:47Speaker 5: you're saying cheap. When it was spread out between all
- 26:50Speaker 5: the houses, it was a much better setup than putting
- 26:53Speaker 5: it and focusing it into one house. So that's that's
- 26:56Speaker 5: where the issue.
- 26:58Speaker 6: Cards like full moan and and Crystal Hive and what's
- 27:03Speaker 6: the other charted whatever the one that that action for
- 27:13Speaker 6: lance that actions get an amber card that existed twice
- 27:18Speaker 6: in science and the one that's an dame. They all
- 27:21Speaker 6: suck because they only work within that house. So you
- 27:25Speaker 6: either have to have a deck that already just makes
- 27:27Speaker 6: a giant hand to get enough benefit out of them. Yep,
- 27:31Speaker 6: but that's require that you know, that's requiring the now
- 27:34Speaker 6: perched house logos.
- 27:36Speaker 4: So that's not a reality.
- 27:39Speaker 6: It's just those mechanics they so rarely result in actual.
- 27:45Speaker 4: High quality.
- 27:48Speaker 6: That it's I don't know, I don't it's not a
- 27:52Speaker 6: design space that that I enjoy much.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's it's, yeah, I can see where that's tough, right,
- 28:02Speaker 3: Just the ratio of how many how many are going
- 28:04Speaker 3: to be there, right, so makes a trick.
- 28:07Speaker 6: And then the way random deck allocation works, it's like
- 28:10Speaker 6: you see how it is. It's like, oh, hey, I
- 28:11Speaker 6: got two of the cars. It gets me amber and
- 28:14Speaker 6: drawing for playing mutants. But this deck has three mutants
- 28:16Speaker 6: in it, so this is all meaningless.
- 28:19Speaker 5: Well, and there that's where the algorithm has to be
- 28:22Speaker 5: able to put a minimum threshold. But I think that
- 28:25Speaker 5: you need artifacts that come in with static play, similar
- 28:30Speaker 5: to dark Amber Vault. Dark Amber Vault for MM was
- 28:33Speaker 5: very good, and yes it was across all the houses.
- 28:35Speaker 5: But playing Mutant Creature, I draw card and I get
- 28:39Speaker 5: plus two power. That's that's a dark Amber Vault.
- 28:42Speaker 6: Was very cool, but it wasn't actually that good because
- 28:49Speaker 6: your dark Amber vallt deck loses because it was in
- 28:51Speaker 6: the bottom three cards of the deck and your whole
- 28:54Speaker 6: value your deck is on one car.
- 28:57Speaker 2: It's also why.
- 28:58Speaker 6: Trunk's Creed is not enough, even though it's a twenty
- 29:01Speaker 6: value card which arguably darker Ambervaut with enough Musers two.
- 29:06Speaker 6: But depending on where it is in your deck, is
- 29:11Speaker 6: decides between game one and game loss.
- 29:13Speaker 4: And that is not a real deck strategy.
- 29:16Speaker 5: It is not a real deck strategy. But it makes
- 29:19Speaker 5: a set or a focus more playable. And that's what
- 29:23Speaker 5: needs to be kept in mind. If you have enough
- 29:25Speaker 5: of those cards in that house, all of a sudden,
- 29:28Speaker 5: it increases the the bottom floor is raised significantly. Right now,
- 29:33Speaker 5: you just don't have enough substance in with immunes you don't.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Yeah, well, but also I mean with pv just filtering
- 29:42Speaker 3: cards so quickly like that, I mean that makes us
- 29:46Speaker 3: so much easier to get to your creed, right, so.
- 29:50Speaker 4: There is a far easier solution to house redemption, never
- 29:55Speaker 4: use it again?
- 29:57Speaker 2: Who's that?
- 29:58Speaker 5: But yeah, well, but you've got a picture that you
- 30:01Speaker 5: have agim Agis, which is again very good, but it's
- 30:04Speaker 5: at an uncommon slot, so that that is good, but
- 30:09Speaker 5: it's not good enough. And Vaults Blessing is the other
- 30:12Speaker 5: one at an uncommon slot. If you move those cards
- 30:16Speaker 5: both down to a common slot, I think that the
- 30:20Speaker 5: house increases significantly. But you have to have those two
- 30:26Speaker 5: cards in PV right now in a decent amount in
- 30:29Speaker 5: order for it to really be playable. You can pull
- 30:32Speaker 5: some things off that are okay and sealed where okay,
- 30:34Speaker 5: I just spam out a whole bunch of creatures, but
- 30:36Speaker 5: that could literally be any house that can do that.
- 30:38Speaker 5: If I throw down five we had this here, I
- 30:41Speaker 5: throw down multiple sory in creatures, and if I don't
- 30:45Speaker 5: have a board wipe or a removal right there, that
- 30:48Speaker 5: is essentially game. With sealed, it's going to run away
- 30:51Speaker 5: with it. But you need to really look at where
- 30:54Speaker 5: the card placement location is in what rarity slot, and
- 30:59Speaker 5: then how does it impact I still argue mutants have
- 31:03Speaker 5: a huge, huge, huge presence with creatures and their actions.
- 31:08Speaker 5: Their actions are just eh, I mean, if if you
- 31:10Speaker 5: look at what the common actions are burning glare, you're
- 31:14Speaker 5: looking at upgrade of mantle, the zellop Like, okay, here
- 31:19Speaker 5: we have burning glare, that's coming back. I'm trying to
- 31:22Speaker 5: pull up what else we have? Vial of mutation. Great,
- 31:25Speaker 5: I get to go ahead and gain the mutant trait. No,
- 31:28Speaker 5: it doesn't do nearly enough. Not knock back, put a
- 31:32Speaker 5: creature onto its owner's deck. Okay, discard cards from the
- 31:36Speaker 5: top of your deck. But it has nothing to do
- 31:38Speaker 5: with mutants, like and I appreciate that there, but genetic strain.
- 31:43Speaker 5: Each mutant creature captures one. Okay, capture is not here. Yeah,
- 31:49Speaker 5: it was how did we get.
- 31:50Speaker 6: From what mechanic do we add to? You guys think
- 31:55Speaker 6: about redemption way too.
- 31:56Speaker 5: Much because.
- 32:00Speaker 3: I was I was just like, hey, we've got a
- 32:02Speaker 3: podcast that I had idea about how to fix redemption
- 32:05Speaker 3: and I shared it.
- 32:07Speaker 2: You know, you're not allowed to share any more drass
- 32:09Speaker 2: car no share, Yeah, go back to rated cards poorly.
- 32:15Speaker 6: It is totally a valid line. If thought we're on here,
- 32:18Speaker 6: I just it's like, how do we get here?
- 32:20Speaker 2: You keep telling Claude how to do drass score dot
- 32:23Speaker 2: com and stop trying to make.
- 32:26Speaker 5: So the new mechanic is don't make redemption.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Purchase, stop making shitty cards.
- 32:35Speaker 5: There has to be some bad cards, but no extent
- 32:39Speaker 5: of how much, oh I disagree with you. If everything
- 32:41Speaker 5: is good, then nothing is good anymore. There has to
- 32:44Speaker 5: be some that are mediocre, but in situational and again
- 32:48Speaker 5: I think having the mechanic where you get a choice,
- 32:53Speaker 5: I really like that. I want cards that make me
- 32:57Speaker 5: think in a different way of how I can use it,
- 33:00Speaker 5: but still have value.
- 33:02Speaker 6: That's their whole new design ethos that goes galaxy. That's
- 33:08Speaker 6: why we have in Drench. Now you have to think
- 33:10Speaker 6: about should I actually ready these creatures? And that was
- 33:13Speaker 6: their story behind.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Haunted. It's like do I actually want to flip and
- 33:18Speaker 4: shuffle all the time?
- 33:20Speaker 5: But I think that Haunted worked because you actually wanted
- 33:24Speaker 5: to keep in a haunted state and there are some
- 33:27Speaker 5: real benefits. I think that is French.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Actually made the effect strong enough that you.
- 33:31Speaker 5: Wanted correct and I think, and this is real tricky
- 33:34Speaker 5: as a game designer, there's no question like thinking on
- 33:37Speaker 5: the spot, no, this isn't my strong suit. But going
- 33:40Speaker 5: ahead and thinking about Entrench, I have not seen it
- 33:43Speaker 5: from my deck in my limited place. The impact of
- 33:47Speaker 5: keeping something entrenched. Honestly, some of the plays that I've
- 33:52Speaker 5: seen are I can first use that creature in the house,
- 33:55Speaker 5: gain the effects, and it's probably just as good as
- 34:00Speaker 5: if I go hide and don't like it's not strong
- 34:03Speaker 5: enough in my opinion from what I've seen with limited plays.
- 34:07Speaker 6: Yeah, the entrenching kids to be meaningfulity, it'll be a
- 34:10Speaker 6: lot more stuff. Uh, if this creature is exhausted at
- 34:14Speaker 6: the end of your turner, if this creature is exhausted
- 34:16Speaker 6: that is starting to turn some major effect happens, ye,
- 34:20Speaker 6: like destroying creature your choice and that kind of stuff like,
- 34:23Speaker 6: then then you would seriously consider. But this junk that
- 34:27Speaker 6: they have where it's like the neighbors are elusive or
- 34:30Speaker 6: the neighbors can't fight steel one, it's like, now that's
- 34:33Speaker 6: tough sucks.
- 34:34Speaker 5: Yeah, it needs to be which level status for us
- 34:36Speaker 5: to keep it as entrenched?
- 34:39Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 34:40Speaker 2: Ye, all right, Which there are another question? Lookie, all right,
- 34:44Speaker 2: I'll ask us another question. Rookie, what got you the
- 34:50Speaker 2: key forge in the first place? Hmmm, we need to
- 34:57Speaker 2: eat for this one.
- 34:58Speaker 4: He's the only one who hasn't answered this question.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Man, I mean we could, we could try to suck
- 35:06Speaker 3: him up into it. Pete, do you want to come
- 35:08Speaker 3: in and answer this?
- 35:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Pete's supposed to be here. Raise your hand, Pete.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Oh I was just invite him, yeah he said sure.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I got him, suck him up into the there
- 35:19Speaker 3: he is, Yep, there it is our Mine wasn't good enough?
- 35:26Speaker 4: All right? Hi?
- 35:30Speaker 2: What got me into keyboards?
- 35:33Speaker 1: Yeah? Well, you know you can only do so much hard. Yeah,
- 35:40Speaker 1: I think I don't know. Somebody was sick or somebody
- 35:43Speaker 1: had surgery. So I had to go to Walgreens and
- 35:47Speaker 1: I saw Magic Gathering stuff and I had not played
- 35:51Speaker 1: that since like the early nineties. So got my family
- 35:55Speaker 1: into playing that for a minute. And then I heard
- 35:58Speaker 1: about key Forge and I was like, oh, this feels
- 36:00Speaker 1: way more like Magic was back when I played it.
- 36:03Speaker 1: So then I got my family in the key Forge.
- 36:05Speaker 1: But it all started with a trip to the pharmacy.
- 36:06Speaker 1: And that's why I think Keyford should be sold at
- 36:09Speaker 1: all pharmacies. That's my plan for rebattalizing it.
- 36:14Speaker 2: So what Pete is telling you is key forde should
- 36:16Speaker 2: be sold with drugs. I mean, yea, it is our drug. Yeah,
- 36:24Speaker 2: I was gonna say, I remember what got me into
- 36:28Speaker 2: key Forge, but I don't remember if I've answered this question, well,
- 36:34Speaker 2: that too, but I think it was a scarcity, like
- 36:38Speaker 2: I had done the demo event or like the pre
- 36:41Speaker 2: release event whatever, and I was like, I kind of
- 36:45Speaker 2: still don't really know what's going on, and I think
- 36:49Speaker 2: I messaged somebody on a server somewhere and me and
- 36:54Speaker 2: Ewok met up and Ewalk taught me how to really
- 36:57Speaker 2: play the game, and then it was it was off
- 37:00Speaker 2: for the races. After that, then I started going to
- 37:04Speaker 2: events and I'm like, I like this that was that.
- 37:10Speaker 5: I thought it was a neat concept seeing the initial
- 37:13Speaker 5: kind of blurb about it.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm a lazy I'm a lazy prick too,
- 37:17Speaker 2: So like non deck building, I was like, I'm in.
- 37:21Speaker 5: But the name for doctor Richard Garfield also attracted me initially.
- 37:27Speaker 2: All the all I need to do is buy one
- 37:29Speaker 2: deck forever and ever and ever, and it's definitely going
- 37:33Speaker 2: to be based on players. It's not, and it's not
- 37:37Speaker 2: going to be based on how much I spend. What
- 37:41Speaker 2: I'm in never happened.
- 37:48Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like I've I've said why on
- 37:51Speaker 3: the cast before, but basically I you know, I'm a
- 37:54Speaker 3: board game guy, but I heard about this crazy algorithmic
- 38:00Speaker 3: deck naming thing. I was like, that's interesting. And I
- 38:06Speaker 3: heard that it's not like you don't have to construct
- 38:09Speaker 3: your deck. It'll just you'll just get a deck and
- 38:12Speaker 3: it'll be unique and it'll have a cool name on it.
- 38:14Speaker 2: And I was like, Oh, when I was a.
- 38:16Speaker 3: Kid, I liked playing magic, but like I didn't like
- 38:22Speaker 3: building the decks right, Like I would go to my
- 38:24Speaker 3: friend's house, they would just sit around, like looking at
- 38:27Speaker 3: cards and like trying to mush them together into decks
- 38:30Speaker 3: and be like, can we just play? So that's why
- 38:34Speaker 3: I tried KeyForge and I bought two decks basically when
- 38:37Speaker 3: it when I first launched, got a Horseman deck and
- 38:43Speaker 3: it was fun.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Horseman.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, so it should have sold it for a
- 38:48Speaker 3: lot of money, but you know, I still have the deck,
- 38:51Speaker 3: so fun.
- 38:53Speaker 2: All right, What was the most internally balanced key Forge
- 38:59Speaker 2: set ever made?
- 39:03Speaker 3: Most internally balanced?
- 39:05Speaker 2: Hmmm? So I guess, so what are we we're saying?
- 39:15Speaker 2: Like the distribution?
- 39:16Speaker 3: Like if you if you graft the strength of the
- 39:21Speaker 3: of all the decks in comparison to each other, what
- 39:26Speaker 3: would be the tightest the tightest curve. Effectively, I think
- 39:32Speaker 3: you're going to be disappointed by the answer.
- 39:37Speaker 6: What do you say, give me something junkie like discovery
- 39:39Speaker 6: that we're not even really.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Considering it could be. I was gonna say, no, was awful.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Yeah it was awful, but we're not talking about if
- 39:53Speaker 2: it was good or bad. If it was but but
- 39:58Speaker 2: if you got you've got.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Now see, there there's a long tail on the right
- 40:03Speaker 3: hand side for meaning the stronger side for AOA because
- 40:08Speaker 3: there are I mean, part of the reason there are
- 40:11Speaker 3: folks that like AA is because there are some real
- 40:14Speaker 3: fun stronger decks. They're just and it's cheap, and so
- 40:19Speaker 3: you can you can just rip displays to find these
- 40:23Speaker 3: things that are not you can't, but but you can.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Yeah for yeah, for like uh like if you're an
- 40:33Speaker 3: adaptive likeer, you know that sort of thing.
- 40:38Speaker 4: Or that.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Because my other thought after that was honestly, world's collide.
- 40:47Speaker 3: No, but that was screws that up.
- 40:53Speaker 4: Yeah. I kind of feel like it's g R minus just.
- 40:58Speaker 6: How gay more beam the gistids are, Ye, they're.
- 41:04Speaker 4: Geistids. Gr make them.
- 41:06Speaker 2: All the difference, you guys, kind of go ahead.
- 41:16Speaker 6: But all the houses had high points in g R.
- 41:21Speaker 6: I think every house could present.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Something back in f FG days or maybe the Dark
- 41:29Speaker 1: Times between you guys actually covered this a little bit. Yeah,
- 41:34Speaker 1: I couldn't possibly tell you what episode it was, but
- 41:35Speaker 1: I listened to the back episodes once in a while,
- 41:38Speaker 1: and the the insight about dark Tidings that you guys
- 41:43Speaker 1: had then was that it's not there's not a super
- 41:46Speaker 1: high top end and there's not a super low low end.
- 41:49Speaker 1: It's it's everything's kind of bunched in the middle, which
- 41:52Speaker 1: is it was interesting to hear because that's not necessarily
- 41:54Speaker 1: a bad thing.
- 41:56Speaker 6: But on DT often came down to which Dak actually
- 42:04Speaker 6: got tide raising cards, which made it kind of a
- 42:08Speaker 6: shitty internal experience because you would, you know, like, you
- 42:13Speaker 6: got the deck without tide Ranger, so you manually raise
- 42:16Speaker 6: the tide to get effective. Then your opponent would just
- 42:19Speaker 6: play a card and give the time and he'd be like,
- 42:21Speaker 6: you're killing me. I don't think that was I don't
- 42:27Speaker 6: actually love playing DT on DT and SEAL in the
- 42:32Speaker 6: end because of the strength of having tide raisers versus guy.
- 42:41Speaker 5: I went a different route boys for me. I think
- 42:44Speaker 5: the tightest set is actually VM twenty five. I could
- 42:48Speaker 5: be completely off on that, but I really enjoyed the experience.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Think about the Vault Master sets, Yeah, I just don't
- 42:56Speaker 2: have enough experience with them to they're.
- 42:59Speaker 5: Just I mean, there are there's some stinkers, but honestly
- 43:02Speaker 5: that's with any set. But for the most part, there's
- 43:06Speaker 5: just some really fun interactions and it's always seems to
- 43:09Speaker 5: be a good time. So that's where I have personally
- 43:14Speaker 5: gravitated towards, and I just have some great games that
- 43:17Speaker 5: I played.
- 43:19Speaker 2: I feel like the answer to this question is either
- 43:22Speaker 2: mass mutation, no or no.
- 43:27Speaker 5: Or I mean, if we answer all of them, then
- 43:30Speaker 5: someone's going to be right, that's true.
- 43:33Speaker 2: I'm ready for it to be me. So I feel
- 43:37Speaker 2: like thetation really came down to pips.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Look, I mean, it's not like every set has a distribution, right,
- 43:46Speaker 3: We're talking about what is the what is the tightest distribution.
- 43:51Speaker 3: I think it's either mass mutation or it's amber Sky's,
- 43:57Speaker 3: which also has pretty tight It's kind of got some
- 44:00Speaker 3: similarities to to mass mutations. Certainly there's you know, house
- 44:04Speaker 3: pit arkinometers like that sort of situation. But yeah, I
- 44:13Speaker 3: think it's more than token sat Like you doesn't say
- 44:15Speaker 3: token sets right, because tokens. That's so dependent on what
- 44:17Speaker 3: tokens you get.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Yeah, you get a good token, you'll be okay. You
- 44:20Speaker 2: get a bad token, you're in the crapper, so right right,
- 44:23Speaker 2: all right, yeah I.
- 44:24Speaker 4: Might, I might throw my vote in on amp with you.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Yeah, alrighty, I'm not.
- 44:32Speaker 6: It's not amber Skies because like house spits are way
- 44:37Speaker 6: too impact mm hmm.
- 44:44Speaker 2: All right, what was the best q Forde set ever made?
- 44:49Speaker 2: And why is it Grim Reminders? All if that's true,
- 44:56Speaker 2: I really like Grim Reminders. It's Astisk but yeah, oh
- 45:02Speaker 2: no Asterisk, it's just Grim Reminders.
- 45:04Speaker 3: It's okay, I like everything except for the watch me
- 45:10Speaker 3: play stuff right like that that's a problem. But in
- 45:18Speaker 3: general I like. I like that it's strong, but not
- 45:22Speaker 3: like well I'm saying not crazy PV strong. I think
- 45:27Speaker 3: at the time that people were like this is too much,
- 45:29Speaker 3: But I mean I liked I liked a lot of it,
- 45:33Speaker 3: like Watka is not great and for the game and
- 45:37Speaker 3: uh the just just keep doing Mars stuff forever wasn't
- 45:42Speaker 3: necessarily great. But other than that, it's pretty pretty fun,
- 45:47Speaker 3: pretty exciting to play set.
- 45:53Speaker 2: All right, who else has got to what's what's what's
- 45:56Speaker 2: our what's our greatest key forwarde sets?
- 45:59Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 45:59Speaker 2: What what do you coda to the original?
- 46:05Speaker 4: I mean that the game has never got anywhere near
- 46:09Speaker 4: that high. Yeah again, and.
- 46:14Speaker 6: Sold a lot of people on what the game could represent,
- 46:18Speaker 6: because you know, I mean, Lands was kind of crazy
- 46:23Speaker 6: broken but pretty early taken out, but like the highs
- 46:26Speaker 6: were high, but not this ridiculous stupid high that we
- 46:32Speaker 6: have now, and the low's actually made reversal interesting because.
- 46:36Speaker 4: There was some real bad, real bad, but it it.
- 46:44Speaker 6: It did a absolutely fantastic job of showing what key
- 46:50Speaker 6: Forge is and could do.
- 46:54Speaker 4: Really really to this day still as entertaining decks. You
- 47:05Speaker 4: centerpinion on the issue you walk.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Yeah, do you think you would?
- 47:16Speaker 5: I mean I think I definitely have to go with
- 47:17Speaker 5: perfect here and say that it's won't master. I mean
- 47:21Speaker 5: PV definitely PvP Okay, sorry say that one out.
- 47:28Speaker 4: Do you think? No?
- 47:30Speaker 2: No, no, answering vault? What's going on with you? Answering vault?
- 47:34Speaker 4: No?
- 47:34Speaker 2: I was putting it out? Question is wild? Yeah? He
- 47:39Speaker 2: already he just took up on the podcast.
- 47:41Speaker 5: Yea PV was what was there for? Perfect? That's a
- 47:45Speaker 5: shout out to you, man.
- 47:48Speaker 2: It's only because he brings a p V deck every
- 47:51Speaker 2: week and beats up on everybody that's not playing PV.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Yeah that's perfect, does yeah, Pete.
- 48:06Speaker 4: I do.
- 48:06Speaker 5: I I do like my gr I've had an overall
- 48:10Speaker 5: very good like interaction with it. I I think winds
- 48:17Speaker 5: of exchange falls a little bit lower than it for me.
- 48:20Speaker 5: I've been having a lot of fun with just VM
- 48:22Speaker 5: twenty five playing it. Amber Skies can either be again
- 48:29Speaker 5: what is going on?
- 48:32Speaker 6: Ye?
- 48:33Speaker 4: No, I think that.
- 48:34Speaker 5: I think it's if I have to go for a
- 48:38Speaker 5: for a set, I think I go gr but gr
- 48:42Speaker 5: DM twenty five.
- 48:45Speaker 3: I like amber Skies. I like amber Skis might be
- 48:48Speaker 3: my real answer.
- 48:50Speaker 5: I like amber Sky's. But there's some real stinkers that
- 48:52Speaker 5: really turned me off from it, so like really really
- 48:56Speaker 5: turned me off.
- 48:57Speaker 2: There are a couple. What's the greatest key Ford set
- 49:01Speaker 2: of all time? What's the gout? No doubt about it?
- 49:05Speaker 1: It's uh hang on, let me check my what This
- 49:09Speaker 1: is called vin D D Scambio And that's uh Italian
- 49:13Speaker 1: for whoa because that's the best one.
- 49:15Speaker 2: All right, all right, let's move through these next ones
- 49:21Speaker 2: kind of quickly. How fucking awesome is it that Gigi
- 49:24Speaker 2: dropped to l O.
- 49:27Speaker 5: Awesome impact.
- 49:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Like, is anybody like it's so weird? We
- 49:35Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, there are some people, and I think
- 49:38Speaker 3: it will be a little better. But like we had
- 49:40Speaker 3: been whining about it for so long and we just
- 49:42Speaker 3: sort of finally were like, fine, whatever, it's fine.
- 49:46Speaker 2: We finally gave into our Stockholm. So yeah, I was like,
- 49:49Speaker 2: well that we're gonna change. It's like, well, why did
- 49:51Speaker 2: you do this forever ago? But that's it's fine. You
- 49:54Speaker 2: will be a little bit. All those people who quit
- 49:56Speaker 2: because of your ship structure, now you just because the
- 50:00Speaker 2: that was before to l O. I think a lot
- 50:03Speaker 2: of it right, Like, I don't know too much. I
- 50:05Speaker 2: know a lot of people got really crappy about to LLOW.
- 50:07Speaker 2: I don't know how many people.
- 50:09Speaker 3: Was it two l or is it the double Elm
- 50:11Speaker 3: that was the thing that was.
- 50:13Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't think too l.
- 50:17Speaker 6: O was presented and sold in a way that corrected
- 50:22Speaker 6: the damage that Double Limb did.
- 50:26Speaker 2: That's probably true.
- 50:30Speaker 4: A little too late for people who were already done.
- 50:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 50:35Speaker 3: The real thing I'm excited about is not I don't
- 50:38Speaker 3: super super care tool over Swiss. I am excited about
- 50:41Speaker 3: whatever this, you know, round four bolt event stuff is
- 50:49Speaker 3: going to be like, I'm fingers crossed, it's going to
- 50:52Speaker 3: be really cool. You already play or what's going on?
- 50:56Speaker 4: Yeah? Why are you even thinking about this? You're gonna
- 50:58Speaker 4: still be playing in the main event.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Maybe maybe he's already going up higher expectation of I'm
- 51:08Speaker 2: gonna suck this year just morning, you know, I'm worried.
- 51:12Speaker 4: I am.
- 51:12Speaker 2: I'm not playing well recently. I don't know.
- 51:17Speaker 4: Is he the only one with a store Champlain or
- 51:19Speaker 4: you got a store Champlin.
- 51:21Speaker 2: A sort champ Yeah, I do.
- 51:24Speaker 4: Can this year?
- 51:26Speaker 2: Ye? All right? Is the key to you for just
- 51:30Speaker 2: undoing everything that CTP has thought of or implemented?
- 51:37Speaker 4: Is this your own question you put in?
- 51:39Speaker 2: No, this is jam Jay, this is this is Jay
- 51:42Speaker 2: Emams blob of questions. Well he has an undone alliance, right, dope,
- 51:47Speaker 2: he just changed the tournament structure. Yeah.
- 51:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it is kind of weird, Like I actually did
- 51:58Speaker 3: not expect them to undo TOLLO because because it was
- 52:01Speaker 3: kind of like they're branding a little bit.
- 52:05Speaker 2: To undo Alliance.
- 52:09Speaker 3: I mean I didn't think it would be I mean,
- 52:11Speaker 3: obviously it hasn't happened yet, but maybe that is what
- 52:14Speaker 3: these side events are. They're like, hey, if we're going
- 52:16Speaker 3: to get if we're going to do you know, we're
- 52:21Speaker 3: going to try adaptive, We're going to try team event,
- 52:24Speaker 3: We're going to try some I don't know, you know,
- 52:30Speaker 3: like some weird restriction like set house restriction or or something,
- 52:36Speaker 3: and people like it. You know, who knows, who knows
- 52:39Speaker 3: what they're gonna do.
- 52:45Speaker 2: Anybody else got any additional thoughts to this?
- 52:52Speaker 4: I understood the question.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Jam wants to know. Is the key to reviving key
- 52:59Speaker 2: Forge just getting rid of c TP?
- 53:02Speaker 5: No because we need we.
- 53:05Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, is the key to reviving key
- 53:12Speaker 2: Forge just undoing everything that CTP has thought of or implemented.
- 53:20Speaker 3: Well except for I know I'm gonna bring the game back.
- 53:23Speaker 3: I mean that was you don't do that? That that
- 53:26Speaker 3: that we're screwed. So for as much as we can
- 53:28Speaker 3: play like, we gotta give him that part, right, fair enough?
- 53:34Speaker 2: All right? Why does Wookie still not spell Wookie correctly?
- 53:40Speaker 2: I mean, see see question one and answers to question one.
- 53:50Speaker 2: I mean, like, come on, it's an artistic choice. What
- 53:54Speaker 2: was the last time you've you've been to Kashik by
- 53:57Speaker 2: the way last week? Oh, nice. How's how's the foliage
- 54:02Speaker 2: this time of year?
- 54:03Speaker 6: What?
- 54:05Speaker 2: Ooh?
- 54:07Speaker 4: The bug bites? It's always the bug bites.
- 54:09Speaker 2: Always the buggy I think are the bugs on kahik gigantic?
- 54:14Speaker 2: What's the worst kind of card to hold in your
- 54:17Speaker 2: hand instead of chuck to keep moving through your deck?
- 54:23Speaker 2: I'm not really.
- 54:25Speaker 5: Furnished nickels, Like, at what time?
- 54:28Speaker 4: Are you?
- 54:28Speaker 2: Like, I'm gonna hold this burnish nickels just in case?
- 54:33Speaker 5: Kind never, You're never.
- 54:36Speaker 6: It's it's the cards that require you to already have
- 54:42Speaker 6: a presence in the house. So it's like you play
- 54:45Speaker 6: your five provdar dudes and you're like, do I hold
- 54:48Speaker 6: incense for next turn? Or you know those kinds of
- 54:52Speaker 6: cards where it's their value of it is based off
- 54:56Speaker 6: of them being ready and usable, and you're like, I'm
- 54:59Speaker 6: gonna hold this so I'm gonna make.
- 55:00Speaker 4: A monster turn next turn, and then they go and
- 55:03Speaker 4: kill your whole board. Now it's just a wordless Jane.
- 55:06Speaker 6: Yes, that's that's hard, because you know, holding the board
- 55:12Speaker 6: white and holding the amber control cards, those are decisions
- 55:18Speaker 6: that you have to make. But it's holding those cards
- 55:20Speaker 6: that are depending on your board state still being the
- 55:23Speaker 6: same on your next turn.
- 55:25Speaker 4: In other words, don't do it.
- 55:26Speaker 2: But doing that, yeah, I could agree. I can agree.
- 55:32Speaker 4: Do you see people do it?
- 55:34Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 55:35Speaker 3: I mean sometimes in sealed you can get away with it,
- 55:38Speaker 3: but in you pretty much can't.
- 55:42Speaker 6: It is probably one of those mistakes that I see
- 55:44Speaker 6: newer players doing more as they you know, they hold
- 55:47Speaker 6: something that like an incensed or or so on tame
- 55:53Speaker 6: one where all your guys reap for one extra amber.
- 55:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I get it. If you get to plan, you
- 56:02Speaker 4: get a ton of value. But if they kill all
- 56:05Speaker 4: your creatures, then that Jane may lose the game.
- 56:09Speaker 2: Agreed. Ohady, see what we got going on with next?
- 56:16Speaker 2: Given everything else on the procedural deck slash card generation front,
- 56:22Speaker 2: does Gigi get tapped to print produce altered in North
- 56:27Speaker 2: America at some point in the future. No, you're the
- 56:33Speaker 2: only one qualified to answer this. But no, no, they've
- 56:36Speaker 2: they're shutting her down. It's over alterns done that.
- 56:40Speaker 4: That company embezzled all their own money into death or whatever.
- 56:43Speaker 4: They did.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Mean poor. They spent a lot of money trying to
- 56:53Speaker 2: do things and expected no money back from their fans.
- 57:01Speaker 4: They they did the exact opposite of CTP. They spent
- 57:04Speaker 4: a lot of money expecting it to do something and
- 57:06Speaker 4: it didn't happen. At CTP, it'spending nothing and going like, look,
- 57:10Speaker 4: I didn't lose any money.
- 57:12Speaker 2: Pretty much, you got CTP on one end who like,
- 57:16Speaker 2: you can't jam, you can't get a nickel out of
- 57:18Speaker 2: this guy. And then you've got the other end of
- 57:21Speaker 2: Equinox who's like, guys, we're giving you things, and then
- 57:26Speaker 2: and then the community going it's not enough. And then
- 57:30Speaker 2: they're like, well, let me give you some more, and
- 57:31Speaker 2: then I'm going it's not enough. Yeah. Uh, what is
- 57:36Speaker 2: the most correct slashed the most comfortable place set up
- 57:40Speaker 2: for I? R L KeyForge. I'm not sure I understand
- 57:44Speaker 2: this question.
- 57:47Speaker 4: What's the best set to play in real life?
- 57:51Speaker 1: Oh grimm reminders. No, it's not asking about a set,
- 57:54Speaker 1: it's asking about a setup.
- 57:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it says, it says, does say set up? What
- 57:58Speaker 2: is the most correct slash most comfortable play set up?
- 58:02Speaker 2: I think I r L key Forge.
- 58:04Speaker 1: The most interesting way to look at it is. I
- 58:07Speaker 1: think the question is where do you put your stuff?
- 58:11Speaker 5: My keys beyond stream and you will see the proper way.
- 58:17Speaker 5: The proper way deck is on the right, hambers on
- 58:22Speaker 5: the left, the right of your your your deck as
- 58:28Speaker 5: your prophecies.
- 58:29Speaker 4: San Antonio minus using the hamber off the trawler. Ignore that.
- 58:37Speaker 5: That that.
- 58:39Speaker 2: Was the perfect setup. Dexter is of the audience. Right here,
- 58:43Speaker 2: he remembers, all right, I put my deck on the left,
- 58:50Speaker 2: though I don't put on the right. I put my
- 58:52Speaker 2: deck on the left as well. I am my deck
- 58:54Speaker 2: and my card pile. Right are you left handed?
- 59:00Speaker 5: Right handed? You draw from the right side. Don't don't
- 59:03Speaker 5: do that.
- 59:04Speaker 4: We are we just need we need to stream some
- 59:07Speaker 4: Doctor Sloopy games.
- 59:09Speaker 5: Oh yeah, there were four Sleepy keys forged this past week,
- 59:17Speaker 5: just in my game alone man for Sleepy.
- 59:21Speaker 2: And then we found a card and we're like, what
- 59:23Speaker 2: is this too? And then it was his go figure, Uh,
- 59:29Speaker 2: what is it going to take to make I'm gonna
- 59:32Speaker 2: guess this meant Vault Tour, a malt tour thing alternatively
- 59:37Speaker 2: the mall or tour. I don't know, asked the lady.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Her name is Janine. She was a real nice lady.
- 59:43Speaker 2: I imagine she looks a lot like uh, you guys,
- 59:46Speaker 2: ever you got you guys ever seen The Ghostbusters?
- 59:51Speaker 4: Right?
- 59:52Speaker 2: You know? The receptionist. I just imagine she looks a
- 59:54Speaker 2: lot like that.
- 59:56Speaker 4: That character.
- 59:59Speaker 2: Yeah was it? Is it name? What's her name of Janet?
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: I think so, okay, we got one. We could it
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: could be, it could be right. We're often wrong, but
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: we say we're right.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: In your wrongness.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: Oh her name was Janine Janine.
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: Yeah, that's just fancy Janet.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Maybe that's where I got that imagery from Fancy Janet. Yeah?
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: Is YouTube the answer for more KeyForge content?
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: I I already better than Discord because it'll get some
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: of larger audience.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: I already say yes. So then we got some alert
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: should be the official drink of KeyForge. It kind of
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: already is.
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: It kind of a.
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: New Jersey coming out, man, that's all I'm gonna say.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: Yeah, the.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: Drive to New Jersey, said me regularly, Like what is
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: in contest? I guess there's the the fuzzy niffle.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: There's that. It's got molord in it. Oh that's true,
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: that's true.
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: So it was.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: You know, it was a little hard to tell.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: When sheep was pouring it into my into my glass,
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: spilling all over my cards, Like while I'm sitting there
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: trying to play, you know, a little to tell.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: Oh, he didn't give you a fully poured shot already.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: Oh you like no, he came over and started pouring
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: it right there. I got all my cards.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: You know, it was fine. It seems like a sheep
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: thing to do. Andy p wants to know, doctor Sheep,
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: why are you the way you are?
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: Yeah? I answered this in the chat. I'm the way
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: I am because he is the way he eats.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Mmmm.
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: All right, do we accept that a little bit? That's
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: like it's like ying and yang.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: Yeah. The more he ds, the more I che Yeah.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: Like I feel like the dark side of the forest,
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: right yeah, and when dark rises, the light rises to
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: beat it versa.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I kind of like it.
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: More like the right ass cheek and the left ass cheek.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Every time you slap back together.
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: Yeah, it creates a whole bunch of stink.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: I feel like all this is correct, all right. How
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: dominant does p V need to be this season to
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: earn a rotation out of evergreen status? H m hmmm.
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: They'll just nerve more cards.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: I mean they have a lot of cards. I was
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: gonna say they got a lot of work to do.
- 1:02:56Speaker 6: Then No, Like, they only really have to make some
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: kind of minor tweak to prophecy cards and it would.
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: Ruin the sense competitive viability very easily promise is just
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: about every rule would be.
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: More record keeping or cracking or something that has to
- 1:03:20Speaker 6: be happening that's going.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: To get screwed up but benoxious.
- 1:03:24Speaker 6: And not fun, and then people are going to really
- 1:03:26Speaker 6: hate it when they when you take their favorite choys away.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: I did think the face up instead of face down
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: was at least an interesting not record keeping.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: Idea. I don't know that it fixes funny. Here's here's
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: the deal. And it came after last week because and
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, you know, what would actually be the
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: best thing is if you just made prophecies artifacts they
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: can be interacting with and it almost but like if
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: you look at PV, it has a lot of artifact controls,
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: a lot of art events. So I'm wondering if that
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: was the original plan for prophecies, was that were going
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: to be artifacts.
- 1:04:16Speaker 6: That just makes it where hard R issentialory. Yeah, when
- 1:04:24Speaker 6: your deck only has one hard R card, you mose
- 1:04:27Speaker 6: to PV because it's in the bottom thirty your deck
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: and you're just like, well, this was another dumb game.
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: It wasn't anything I did.
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: It's just the shuffle of why I lost right because
- 1:04:37Speaker 6: if it had been in the top third, I would
- 1:04:39Speaker 6: have destroyed the important prophecy and my win rate goes
- 1:04:42Speaker 6: up fifty six percent or whatever. Because that's how that's
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: how destructive or how impactful destroying a prophecy would be.
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: We would.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Now you just have to at this point, you just
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: have to guess correctly. So guess better. I'm not saying.
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: Prophecies are a good mechanic.
- 1:05:06Speaker 6: I'm just saying making them artifacts I don't actually think
- 1:05:11Speaker 6: solves the well, I guess it solves the problem that
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: like enough people bring hard R TV decks start losing
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: because hard R can shut them down and it just
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: cycles them.
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: Functionally out and then it's just like that. It's that
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: short term land where part of the forest.
- 1:05:31Speaker 6: And Eaton's jar decks were there, and it's like, oh,
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: I ran into the deck that actually uses an artifact
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: that I don't have hard R and I'm gonna lose
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: this match.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: And that's just how matchups to go. So I don't know.
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: I don't.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: How does Eaton's work with because our car cards are
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: revealed from you. The answer is it doesn't work. Got it?
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: Thanks for that? All right? Moving forward? Uh, what is
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: a hill you die? You're willing to die on that?
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Everyone else thinks it's completely ridiculous. I feel like that's
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: everything he believe. Say it again?
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: What is that? Is not fun?
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: See? Yeah, I mean, I mean plenty of people have fun.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: I have some fun with it.
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: I'm not.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: I'm not like this is the best, but it's not
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: not fun.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: Okay, well it's not fun. I'm going to die on
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: this hill.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: Because the person I want to hear their their hill
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: dying moment is ewokwok. What is your hill you're willing
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: to die on for? Key Forge needs you more?
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: Well, it was well said their sheep, So good times
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: talking about.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: It, all right? I think so mine is like they
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: need to invest in marketing, developers and.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Actually and like better like real I mean real play testing.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: I don't know, but like developer. I think that's the answer.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: That's the supplement the playtesting.
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: It's like one guy is not like that, like that's
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: too hard, that's too hard to get it all right?
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: Like you need you need a developer to help that.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: That is the thing that I think. It's you know,
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: it's another human humans are pricey, but.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Don't we have a guy for this is his name, Jeremy.
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: No no, no, no, he's he's he's not all only
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: only sky sky Jedi is working on key forde. Really okay,
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: there's not like a dedicated developer, right, this is the problem.
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: That they even had different g they had multiple developers.
- 1:08:17Speaker 6: Well, when you listen to them talked, you realize none
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: of them actually understood how key Forge was played in
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: the the competitive world we play it, right, Like, their
- 1:08:30Speaker 6: thoughts are perfectly well rounded around pigeon table keyboard care.
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: And that's a place where we always trip on ourselves,
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: is that we want to develop for the way we
- 1:08:41Speaker 6: want to play keyboard, you know, which is less kitchen
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: table and far more.
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: High and competitive.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, they I think understanding it doesn't have
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: to be like perfection, right, like but but just an
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: understanding of what types of things we want to see
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: and and like what we think makes competitive environment fun. Right,
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: Like coin flips not so much? Right, Like, uh, there's
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: already enough randomness and card draw card game, right, so
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: additional randomness coin flips all that isn't that's not exactly.
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: What we want.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: Indeed, I agree, all right, all right, I lost my
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: question here. Hold on.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: I gotta scroll, you gotta scroll, Yeah, scroll and scroll
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: and scrolling.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: Scrolling, because some of these are a little silly. We
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: could do that, We can do that. I feel like
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: we've answered them already, so I guess if we didn't. Yeah,
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: if you haven't. If you haven't, if you haven't, go
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: listen to our past a m as and a lot
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: of these are already answered.
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: So is power creep essential for the game or are
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: there approaches could take for successfully releasing weaker sets?
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: No, power creep is essential. Now there's no power Some
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: of these sets don't have power creep. They have just
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: power leaps because it ain't a creep. It just went
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: zero to one hundred. That's good. It's it's a good turn,
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: bad bad product.
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, got yeah, okay, okay, yeah yeah it is Uh,
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: it has been a lot, real lot. That's where developer
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: can help you tune.
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: It's not gonna be perfect, but they can help you
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: tune to get to the right spot.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: All right. I think this is gonna be the last
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: question of the night because Sheep needs to find never
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: mind and I need to go seep me. But what's
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: the most satisfying kind of win clean strategy, lucky nonsense,
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: or making your opponent regret their life choices.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: Well, we know, look, book, he's gonna pick the last one,
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: but he's wrong. It's the first one. Nobody wants to
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: lucky win. That's what goes back to why they like,
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: don't you know the Do you remember how hot? Do
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: you remember some of the early day lucky wins with
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: wild wormholing into the right into the right card, just
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: hitting that right card just did that just irritate you?
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean, now's a little now's a little different,
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: right with you know what house am I thinking of?
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: But some of those were very entertaining where it was like, oh, okay,
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: so he's got the opportunity to do X y Z
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: and if this gets hit, you know, it might be
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: enough time and it just happens. It's like, oh, I.
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: I know it could be the most Yeah, I know,
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: it could be the most infuriating because we almost had
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: an ask again later prophecy with Buffo under it while
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: I was up to keys and blank amber enough to forge.
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: But I guess I did lose that.
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: Way to that same player.
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: Yeah, you you bet, Dandre out and he, on the
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: other hand, came around and did pull off his.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: Damn boufo for third.
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: Key, you just have to go ahead and guess, right. Wow,
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: I love how we were talking about I know well
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: and I love how we were talking about it, and
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: everyone's like, well, you can count your cards and you
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: can see what the hyghe probably sure, it's a high probability.
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: And it literally there was one card of the house
- 1:13:19Speaker 5: that was left, even though I had deduced where the
- 1:13:22Speaker 5: probability was, and because everything else was in his hand
- 1:13:25Speaker 5: which I could not, and I guess.
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: All the other cards were, all the other untamed cards
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: are in his hand.
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: But that's where the odds were. So I went with it.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: And there was one card left and that was it.
- 1:13:39Speaker 5: So I locked out. But again, there could be one
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: card left and probability is low, but you still hit
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: it and Boom again goes off and Boffo wins.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: I mean to your you play to your outs, and
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: you know, taking the chance that feels good, just you know,
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: flipping a coin that feels less good.
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: It's it's worse than that.
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: What I what I was gonna say when I when
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: I think of this question, right, that's that's where I
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: think of is was those high kind of I guess
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: quote unquote skill Wormhole plays that I was like, all right,
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: this this is my out and it's my only out.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: I could do that, you know if I you know,
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: it's really my only other option at this point to
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: try to win this game and then hitting it as
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: opposed to you know what house am I thinking of those?
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: I think those were very entertaining. I think now it's
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: a little sullied because of of asking again later back
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: in the day. Man, those those were fun to watch.
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: Those Those were very entertaining and part of what makes
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: key Ford's awesome. And I like it.
- 1:14:55Speaker 6: At a store level event, yeah, they're very f straighting.
- 1:15:00Speaker 6: At had a vaultae level, there's this whole like, yeah,
- 1:15:05Speaker 6: but you know, it is what key Forge is, so
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: you just accept that's.
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: What it is. But the you know, when you play,
- 1:15:14Speaker 5: when you play a half hour to forty minutes and
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: your like intent and strategy and focus and then all
- 1:15:20Speaker 5: of a sudden it like it's back and forth. Those
- 1:15:23Speaker 5: I enjoy, but when it comes down to then here's
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: just straight luck.
- 1:15:28Speaker 6: It's always with the shuffle of this game where they
- 1:15:32Speaker 6: just you know, it's like they shuffle and they draw
- 1:15:34Speaker 6: the one card that you know is going to make
- 1:15:37Speaker 6: all the difference in this game.
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: You know, they TMTPU and then shuffle and you.
- 1:15:43Speaker 6: Make a bunch of amber and they brownnie you again,
- 1:15:46Speaker 6: and you're just like, what a luck, shit focused garbage
- 1:15:52Speaker 6: thing just happened here, But you know it's it's It
- 1:15:56Speaker 6: is also what key Forge offers that at a lot
- 1:16:01Speaker 6: of the other card games do not offer. Yeah, which
- 1:16:06Speaker 6: is part of why I like it. Because there's key Forge,
- 1:16:09Speaker 6: We'll always have the spot where a little bit of
- 1:16:12Speaker 6: luck will carry you over skill, right, Like, sometimes it
- 1:16:17Speaker 6: doesn't matter who the better player is. The luck is
- 1:16:20Speaker 6: just with one person in KeyForge more a little more
- 1:16:23Speaker 6: than it is in other games, I think, which is
- 1:16:28Speaker 6: frustrating when you take the loss. But I also enjoy
- 1:16:30Speaker 6: that because it does make this less of a game
- 1:16:34Speaker 6: where you have to invest a ton of your life
- 1:16:37Speaker 6: into being good at it.
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: Just be pretty good at it and get pretty far.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Thorn for lucky wins. I don't know that would
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: have two store championships this year, So they're they're.
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: Okay by me. Yeah.
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: Look, I mean it's not like I win, and I'm like,
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: I wish I hadn't won, right, That's what I'm saying.
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: Like the question was what's the best feeling? The best
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: type of the best type of win is when you
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: planned carefully, you played your out, you figured out the
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: path through, and you made it happen through your skill.
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: That's the best, right, Yeah, that earned victories absolutely? Yeah.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: Yeah, so I don't I don't want, I don't want
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: to give.
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: And then the best victories are when you just raffle
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: stomp them and they just look at you like this
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: was dumb. But that's only when you're playing your buddies
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: at the locals and then you want and you're like,
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: but now really at real competitive Yeah, it's the meaningful games,
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: the games that you actually had to work a little
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: bit to win.
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: All Right, I said to know that was the last question,
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: But I want I want one more because I thought
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: this one was kind of funny. What is the best
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: example of a bad design but so bad you have
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: to laugh, so bad you have to laugh Twink's creed. Yeah,
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: that's the one that comes to mind.
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: All of the gosh awful linked.
- 1:18:22Speaker 6: Creature cards, the hasses as raptors, the play grants, the
- 1:18:25Speaker 6: more wolves mm hmm.
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: Or the the.
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: The ships right where it's like, of course you're going
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: to exalt three times, like and what world is this
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: ever good for you?
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: Right? Like, I don't know if any of the linked
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: cards besides, I think there's really only one that I
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: could say has ever been good, and that would be
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: routine job and help from free yourself. Yeah, I guess
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: that's probably.
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: I mean, we do it. There is another six linked card.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: Out there, there's another way.
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: Six.
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: What is that one?
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: Anybody anybody uh com officer gigs.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: From d T Oh yeah, yeah, we did do that.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: That's true, but.
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: It's not Master of one. It's not Master of one,
- 1:19:28Speaker 5: Master two, Master of three. Darn it.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: I know, I know.
- 1:19:39Speaker 6: The bruise Like how depressing the bruise were. Oh yeah,
- 1:19:45Speaker 6: like how good they did with the blasters.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: It was so weird. The Bruis were linked to the
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: different creatures, Like if you got the creature you could
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: get you got a shot at getting.
- 1:19:57Speaker 5: The blue that's so fun.
- 1:20:00Speaker 4: Along that's just every every Brobnar giant had a chance
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: of being brude. Yeah, but all the Bruce were identical.
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: It was so lame. It was so like, oh that
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: blaster idea is so cool. Wanted to put it in prob. Oh,
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: we ain't got time to design it here, just do this.
- 1:20:16Speaker 5: Yeah, a loca is brew. There you go, Yeah, give
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: it Preacher two plus one power counters.
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty weird. This is a good one too. I
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: like this one. What is the most overused excuse for losing?
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: You drew better?
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: Yea, yeah, we went to time. Yeah, well that's just
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: true for one of us. Come on, I threw you
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: this top ball and no one, no one, you guys,
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: that's in you, all of you. I don't know if
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: I've ever lost the game to time. Yes, you have
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: have I?
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, I know I have.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: Yoh, yeah I have. I did it at Who was it? Oh? Necho?
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: I think I lost on time? Yeah.
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: Only why it really sticks in my memory is Collinsville nineteen.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that one sticks out for me too. Sheep's first warning.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: I don't know if he's gotten one since, but it
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: was his first one that much. I do know.
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: He walked in and he was warned. What do you mean? No,
- 1:21:46Speaker 5: this is just gg Judges and staff.
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: Non, Collinsville wasn't.
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: That was no, no, no, no, that was yetty. But
- 1:21:56Speaker 5: I'm saying you like, yeah, no, I just have a
- 1:21:59Speaker 5: standing morning.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: He walks in and there like we heard about you. Yep, alrighty, Well,
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: there was a bunch of other questions. Maybe we'll throw
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: these in for episodes in the future, because next week
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: I believe will probably start DT DT d M Sleepy
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: Dragons naming.
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: Did I score the dragons first so we can just
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: get all the zeros and ones done?
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: Maybe there's a lot of low low scored cards and
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: Sleepy Dragons.
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: Drasconian measures, dras Conian measures. Man, you spent so much
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: on d M they named the set after you. Yeah.
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing. Yeah, probably.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: I think I think we're all gonna say hopefully. I'm hoping.
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: I'm hoping we're gonna have a lot of fun and Sealed.
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: I'm hopingland or play it.
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: It's people here.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: Here's what I don't think we're going to see it
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: in arcan.
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: There there's no guarantee you're playing d M sealed.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: Y what else are they going to have? They don't
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: have d Way to see Masters or c C.
- 1:23:16Speaker 4: Baby.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: I mean I would play Vault Masters. I played six.
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: Here's an in trouble question. I just thought of because
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: you you brought it up, and I'm like, you know,
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: have we ever had a bad what is the worst
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: sealed experience in key Forge? Uh?
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: Chaine on Change of Menagerie, not vault level stuff product
- 1:23:48Speaker 4: World's Glide.
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: Okay, because maybe World because if you got just you
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: were yeah A, I mean maybe it was done and
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: just you can't stop up control.
- 1:24:06Speaker 6: I think maybe A we I mean if we just
- 1:24:09Speaker 6: saw this with our twelve our twelve deck alliance one
- 1:24:12Speaker 6: is like, well I opened zero of the broken combo things,
- 1:24:16Speaker 6: so this is gonna go well for me?
- 1:24:19Speaker 5: I would say gg Era Discovery and Crucible Clash without
- 1:24:25Speaker 5: our power like with Sorry with our power. Crucible Clash
- 1:24:29Speaker 5: with our empower was real rough.
- 1:24:32Speaker 4: It's yeah.
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: Discovery as a whole was also not great.
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: I Discovery.
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: I opened and played Discovery on Sunday night and it
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: was fine.

- 1:24:50Speaker 5: right it is.
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: It is for.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: Players who have not who are just now coming into
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: key Forge. Like Discovery wasn't built for us. I'll give
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: him that, right, Like I can't say I don't know
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: and maybe I'm wrong, but you know it just it
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: was built to get new players involved in the game.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: It'd be nice if they did more to do that.
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: But you know, weren't we supposed to have a new
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: player initiative right now or something after the Vault Tour season?
- 1:25:22Speaker 4: Or is that over there there is supposed to be
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: Discovery Kit two coming two GM four to six Draconian sleepycles.
- 1:25:37Speaker 5: The hill I'd like to die in? Is local Opie?
- 1:25:39Speaker 5: Can I die in that hill?
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: We already said local op he would? She already said.
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: I believe he said that more or less. I feel
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: like it's the same thing.
