- Jaba: Hello everybody and welcome back to the Scout and the Speculator podcast. This is Will Jarvis, also known as Jabba Cards, doing a quick solo episode today. Jeremy's about to hop on and join me for our usual Wednesday content price checks. We're gonna talk about Bowman Sapphire a little bit, but I thought I would just hop on and bang this out quickly. Our daily Arizona Fall League recap. Only two games yesterday. So while Jeremy has missed, I figured this is a pretty easy one to run through solo. So first game yesterday were after Segueros. Justin Lampkin was on the bump for the Segueros. Didn't go great. Three innings, five runs four of them earned, only struck out two. Jorgelis Mota, not a Bowman guy, hit a two-run homer off Lamkin in the first. 114.2 on the exit velo, and he hit it four hundred and fifty-five feet. So not great to see that kind of a bomb. pretty quiet game in terms of Bowman guys. Dax Kilby had an O for 0 for 4 after a very hot start. Jared Thomas for the Rockies one for three. just running through a lot of guys were off. Kyle DeBarge did hit a triple. Other than that, that was really it for the Rafters. on the Segueros side, Sebastian Walcott O for four. Angel Gomez O for three. Those are kind of your two notable names there. Neither of them did much of anything, but neither of them struck out despite going O for seven combined. So we're gonna go ahead and take the take the little victory on that one. switching over to the other game last night, there's only one tonight. But we had the Desert Dogs our kind of pre-AFL pick up against the Solar Sox. The Desert Dogs started 0-3, got their first win yesterday, 4-3 in 10 innings. Wyatt Sanford let off, had another single. Two K's kind of a typical day there. Same goes for Caleb Bomb Bonimer, who singled, struck out once. Chuck Davalan continues to struggle. He's batting ninety one. Went for three in this one, although he walked and got hit by a pitch and scored twice. Dylan Lewis one for four. Other than that, it was a real quiet day in terms of our Bowman guys. Davlon did steal a base as well, but it Eduardo Quintero 0 for two with a pair of walks. Easton Shelton, who should get a Bowman card sooner rather than later. O for two. Owen Carey, one for four. These were all singles. no no real Bowman names pitching on either side besides for Jake Bloss, who threw two innings without recording anything in the box score. So we like the no hits, no walks. No runs, but we would like to, you know, see a strikeout maybe. then yeah, the SolarSox bats were pretty quiet. Nazan Zanatello for the Red Sox had been off to a hot start. He went 0 for 4 with a hat trick at K's. most of our guys were sitting, honestly. Juan Cabata 0 for 4, and then Brays and Guidez also went 0 for 4. Gwidez has struggled early on, hitting 167 with a 453 OPS. But we're only a few games in, so I don't really think it should be read into that much. But yeah, Wyatt Sanford has his OPS over a thousand, still hitting 364. We'll see if he can tighten up the swing a little bit and reduce the K's. But other than that, it was a pretty quiet day in the AFL. I think that that Jorjelismota. Home run was probably the most notable event that happened. not great to see Lamkin get smoked like that. Mota, not a Bowman guy again. He's a 21-year-old center fielder. was hurt for most of the year in high A Wilmington for the Nationals. Only 99 at bats, three homers, thirteen steals, and a seven sixty-nine OPS. So Maybe he becomes a guy worth watching. I mean last year in single A as a twenty year old, he only played eighty one games again. Six homers, twenty five steals, a lot of doubles, a lot of strikeouts. probably not a guy we need to care too much about. But if you're hitting a homer four hundred fifty five feet off Justin Lampkin, who's a good good arm, you know, that's that's worth a shout out and at least knowing the name. So that wraps up yesterday's AFL action. I'll be back with a brief one tomorrow. There's only one game tonight, as I mentioned. But yeah, Jeremy and I will have a bunch more content coming out later today, so stay tuned for that. Thank you all for listening, as always, and go metz.
