- 1:26SPEAKER_19: And uh the next like week, I was actually fine.
- 1:31SPEAKER_19: No cough, no nothing.
- 1:33SPEAKER_19: And then it just started like it was like a, and I think we probably talked about this before.
- 1:40SPEAKER_19: Sorry.
- 1:41SPEAKER_19: Um, but like a a tickle in your throat, and when I lay down at bed at night, um when I'm breathing, there's like a crackle.
- 1:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:52SPEAKER_19: So it's like, and then I heard there's people talking at the one of my schools that they all were diagnosed with pneumonia.
- 1:59SPEAKER_19: I'm like, well, maybe that's what I had.
- 2:01SPEAKER_19: But and I'm better, it's better, but yeah, every once in a while, and I'll be I'll be talking in a mid-conversation, and then all of a sudden I have to go, you know?
- 2:11SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 2:11SPEAKER_19: You'll hear it.
- 2:12SPEAKER_19: I mean, you probably heard it on the last podcast, but um, my wife told me this morning, she's like, You probably, you know, you've had that for a while, you probably should go check that out.
- 2:20SPEAKER_19: And I'm just wondering if it's not a tuma.
- 2:24SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 2:24SPEAKER_19: I'm just wondering if it's gonna go away.
- 2:27SPEAKER_19: And and what are they gonna do at this point?
- 2:29SPEAKER_19: Uh they're gonna give me antibiotics?
- 2:31SPEAKER_19: I mean, what are they gonna do?
- 2:32SPEAKER_19: I don't know.
- 2:32SPEAKER_19: Drain your lungs.
- 2:34SPEAKER_19: Drain my lungs.
- 2:35SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 2:35SPEAKER_04: Just put a vacuum cleaner down.
- 2:36SPEAKER_04: Can they do that?
- 2:37SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 2:38SPEAKER_19: Put a vacuum cleaner down.
- 2:41SPEAKER_19: Just clean my lungs.
- 2:43SPEAKER_04: Dustbuster?
- 2:44SPEAKER_19: Maybe just drink some bleach.
- 2:45SPEAKER_04: Lung buster.
- 2:48SPEAKER_04: Maybe maybe a miniature roomba.
- 2:52SPEAKER_04: Just run around your lungs and just I'm full of good ideas.
- 2:58SPEAKER_04: Just ask me.
- 3:00SPEAKER_19: So I don't know.
- 3:01SPEAKER_19: I don't know what I'm gonna do.
- 3:02SPEAKER_19: Uh you know, I'll give it another few days, and if it's not any better, then maybe I'll go to a walk-in or something.
- 3:08SPEAKER_19: I'll figure I'll figure it out.
- 3:10SPEAKER_19: Help me! Um we should we should say that we are recording on a Monday.
- 3:15SPEAKER_19: Monday, Monday.
- 3:16SPEAKER_19: It's because of soccer.
- 3:19SPEAKER_19: Soccer is stupid.
- 3:21SPEAKER_19: Yeah, dang soccer.
- 3:23SPEAKER_19: So we had um they had a couple of rescheduled games because they postponed a couple games.
- 3:30SPEAKER_19: So they weren't supposed to have uh as many games this week, but Elizabeth Well, yeah, it's like it's like I was listening to the radio and they were like naming off all these games, and I'm like, holy freaking crap.
- 3:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they're all makeup games.
- 3:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I was about to say, because it's gotta be close to the end of the season.
- 3:46SPEAKER_19: It is.
- 3:47SPEAKER_19: Well, Finn's last game is Wednesday, fast last game of the uh of his um uh J V season.
- 3:53SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 3:53SPEAKER_19: And they don't have playoffs in J V.
- 3:55SPEAKER_19: So and I think Eli's team, although tonight I don't know, they lost their game downstate.
- 4:02SPEAKER_19: They play they play Fort Kent tomorrow, and that is the last game of the regular season.
- 4:10SPEAKER_19: I think they make the playoffs.
- 4:12SPEAKER_19: I think they're in like they're like 10th place right now.
- 4:15SPEAKER_19: I I think you're gonna be in tenth place and make playoffs?
- 4:18SPEAKER_19: I don't know.
- 4:19SPEAKER_19: Wow, to be honest with you.
- 4:20SPEAKER_19: I I don't know.
- 4:21SPEAKER_19: So maybe their season's over after tomorrow.
- 4:24SPEAKER_19: Could be.
- 4:25SPEAKER_19: I don't know.
- 4:25SPEAKER_19: We'll wait.
- 4:26SPEAKER_19: But we'll wait and see.
- 4:27SPEAKER_19: So I thank you for coming on a Monday night instead of a Tuesday night.
- 4:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, such an imposition because I had to move the thing around.
- 4:34SPEAKER_19: What did you have to move around?
- 4:35SPEAKER_04: Well, I had a date with um um that girl.
- 4:38SPEAKER_04: Oh, that girl.
- 4:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, she was like, Doug, what are we gonna do that?
- 4:42SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, sorry, baby, got a podcast to do.
- 4:45SPEAKER_04: It's like, no, I was gonna take you to Sabaros.
- 4:49SPEAKER_04: Sabaros.
- 4:55SPEAKER_17: Of all the places you barrows.
- 4:59SPEAKER_04: Is there even Sabaros anymore?
- 5:00SPEAKER_04: No, I don't think so.
- 5:01SPEAKER_04: Maybe that's gone.
- 5:02SPEAKER_04: Maybe there maybe there's one Sabaros left in the world because uh she has her own plane.
- 5:10SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 5:10SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 5:11SPEAKER_04: She's a pilot.
- 5:12SPEAKER_04: She is.
- 5:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:13SPEAKER_19: Nice.
- 5:14SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 5:14SPEAKER_19: And you call her baby.
- 5:15SPEAKER_04: I was like, hey, baby.
- 5:19SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 5:20SPEAKER_04: You got you got all this money and planes and stuff, but I got the Doug.
- 5:26SPEAKER_19: She's like, You're the best.
- 5:29SPEAKER_19: And I gotta go to a basement.
- 5:30SPEAKER_04: And I'm gonna hang out with my best friend in a basement and do a podcast.
- 5:34SPEAKER_04: So you you go to Saboros and you're playing.
- 5:38SPEAKER_04: Say hi to P.
- 5:39SPEAKER_04: Diddy for me.
- 5:40SPEAKER_04: Oh, Jesus.
- 5:42SPEAKER_04: Sorry.
- 5:44SPEAKER_04: Uh like I ever have anything I can't be to do that I can't reschedule.
- 5:50SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 5:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:51SPEAKER_04: That's just my life.
- 5:52SPEAKER_04: I have nothing.
- 5:54SPEAKER_04: Well, I have some things.
- 5:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you do.
- 5:56SPEAKER_04: Most of the of it, most of the most of it revolves around music.
- 5:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:00SPEAKER_04: And uh, which is not a bad thing.
- 6:03SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 6:03SPEAKER_04: But I really should spread, you know, uh, you know, branch out.
- 6:08SPEAKER_04: Branch out a little bit, you know, and do something else.
- 6:12SPEAKER_19: I'm the same.
- 6:12SPEAKER_19: I'm the same way.
- 6:13SPEAKER_04: Well, I've been taking online college courses, but that's that's not the same.
- 6:16SPEAKER_04: I just what it's it's just like watching uh videos.
- 6:19SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 6:20SPEAKER_04: You know, and you need and then you take a test at the end.
- 6:22SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 6:23SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, well, and you can print out a when you complete it, you can print out a little diploma thing, which is fun.
- 6:29SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 6:30SPEAKER_04: But it really doesn't m do anything for you.
- 6:32SPEAKER_04: I mean, I'm it's not like I'm gonna, you know, get a new job out of this.
- 6:36SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 6:36SPEAKER_04: You know.
- 6:36SPEAKER_19: Not only that, we had a conversation uh last night with a friend of mine that we were talking about online classes, and um because I because I had I told you I did a workshop down at Thomas College.
- 6:47SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 6:48SPEAKER_19: Beautiful what the what they've done to that place.
- 6:50SPEAKER_19: And he that that's what started the conversation.
- 6:52SPEAKER_04: All those all those little colleges like 30 years ago that were kind of like dinky and they've built up.
- 7:01SPEAKER_19: Legit universities.
- 7:02SPEAKER_19: Check this out.
- 7:02SPEAKER_19: So I was telling him how how beautiful and how technologically advanced Thomas College is now.
- 7:09SPEAKER_19: They have this these computer rooms, and it's just like, I mean, it's just uh immense.
- 7:14SPEAKER_19: And he said that they're having a hard time now because they they can't get students to come to campus.
- 7:24SPEAKER_19: They don't want to do online classes.
- 7:26SPEAKER_04: They don't want to do that.
- 7:28SPEAKER_04: They do want to do it.
- 7:28SPEAKER_19: Oh, they want to do online classes.
- 7:30SPEAKER_19: Yeah, they don't want to come to this campus that they spent all this money to build up and they've got all these resources, you know, and and they want to do online classes.
- 7:39SPEAKER_19: So they stay home and do online classes.
- 7:42SPEAKER_19: So the Tam Thomas is really struggling.
- 7:44SPEAKER_19: Generation is so stupid.
- 7:45SPEAKER_19: And I always we got to talking about online classes, and I I because you know, I've been taking online classes for my certification.
- 7:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 7:53SPEAKER_19: And these classes are like it's it's you give them a bunch of money, then you do all the work.
- 8:02SPEAKER_19: Well, obviously you're gonna do the work, right?
- 8:04SPEAKER_19: Because you're in the course, but they don't teach you.
- 8:07SPEAKER_19: Like like the cla the courses that I've been taking, it's like, okay, here's like you said, here's a video.
- 8:13SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 8:13SPEAKER_19: And and read this and and this and then and then take a quiz.
- 8:17SPEAKER_19: You know, and it's like, okay, I got an A in the course because you know, I did the work.
- 8:23SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 8:24SPEAKER_04: But I could have done that by just reading a book.
- 8:27SPEAKER_04: Dude, on Amazon, I subscribe to Great Courses.
- 8:30SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 8:31SPEAKER_04: Uh I have a subscription to that.
- 8:33SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 8:33SPEAKER_04: I can take a course on anything I want.
- 8:36SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 8:37SPEAKER_04: And all it costs me is like five or six bucks a month.
- 8:42SPEAKER_19: So to be on great courses is five or six bucks a month?
- 8:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:45SPEAKER_04: You just what you just watch an online, you just basically watch these lecture series on whatever topic.
- 8:51SPEAKER_04: It's math, science.
- 8:53SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 8:53SPEAKER_04: You know.
- 8:54SPEAKER_04: You don't need college.
- 8:56SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 8:56SPEAKER_04: At this point.
- 8:57SPEAKER_04: College is pointless.
- 8:58SPEAKER_19: What's uh what's that guy?
- 9:00SPEAKER_19: That uh conservative um um pundit.
- 9:05SPEAKER_19: Micro?
- 9:05SPEAKER_19: Not Mike.
- 9:06SPEAKER_19: Well, Micro too.
- 9:07SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 9:07SPEAKER_19: Uh Charlie Kirk.
- 9:09SPEAKER_19: Oh, yeah, he never wrote to college.
- 9:10SPEAKER_19: He says college is a ripoff.
- 9:11SPEAKER_19: It is a ripoff.
- 9:12SPEAKER_19: And it's turning out to be that way.
- 9:13SPEAKER_19: You know, it's like they get you give them a bunch of money, and then you take the course and you do all the work.
- 9:19SPEAKER_19: There's no professor that teaches you anything.
- 9:22SPEAKER_19: You know, it's and it's especially with all these online things.
- 9:25SPEAKER_04: I mean, why do you even need a professor?
- 9:26SPEAKER_04: Just right.
- 9:28SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 9:29SPEAKER_15: You know, it's it's a joke.
- 9:30SPEAKER_04: It's a big ripoff.
- 9:31SPEAKER_04: It's a it's a it's the biggest scam.
- 9:33SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 9:34SPEAKER_04: One of the biggest scams in American history.
- 9:36SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 9:36SPEAKER_04: You know.
- 9:37SPEAKER_19: It really is.
- 9:38SPEAKER_19: You don't need college.
- 9:40SPEAKER_19: You you just you just need the the the the letters behind your name.
- 9:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean that's all you're paying for.
- 9:46SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 9:46SPEAKER_04: You're paying for a piece of paper.
- 9:48SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: You know.
- 9:49SPEAKER_04: Now I understand, you know, if you want to be a doctor, of course, you gotta have you gotta have certain things, but I mean, yeah.
- 9:55SPEAKER_04: I bet I could take an online course and become a lawyer.
- 9:58SPEAKER_15: I bet you could.
- 9:59SPEAKER_04: Or a doctor.
- 10:00SPEAKER_04: Probably.
- 10:01SPEAKER_04: I have a I have a first aid book.
- 10:02SPEAKER_04: I could do some surgery, probably.
- 10:05unknown: Yeah.
- 10:06SPEAKER_04: In boot camp, they taught us how to uh uh uh uh uh fix a sucking chest wound.
- 10:11SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 10:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, with a uh with with the cellophane from a cigarette pack.
- 10:15SPEAKER_19: Speaking of that, not not the chest wound, uh but um and I don't know that the if she'll have the guts to ask you.
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: Who's she?
- 10:25SPEAKER_19: My daughter.
- 10:26SPEAKER_19: She has a project, fifth fifth grade project, um, where uh she's gonna ask our neighbor and because we're I I I picked her up from from school today and she's like, I have to I have to ask Bill all these questions.
- 10:43SPEAKER_19: Uh, because he's a veteran.
- 10:44SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 10:44SPEAKER_19: And I said, Well, you know, Doug's a veteran too.
- 10:46SPEAKER_19: She's like, Yeah, that's right.
- 10:49SPEAKER_19: She's like, but he would would he do and I was like, Yeah, you can ask him.
- 10:53SPEAKER_19: So they're trying to get um, let's see, we'd like to build a wall of freedom to honor the veterans in our lives for their service to our great country, their hard work and sacrifices make freedom possible for all of us.
- 11:04SPEAKER_19: Find a relative, friend, or neighbor who has served in any branch of the armed forces.
- 11:08SPEAKER_19: Conduct a brief interview, either in person or over the phone, find out the following information.
- 11:13SPEAKER_19: So I'm just gonna maybe why I'll just have her listen to the podcast.
- 11:16SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 11:16SPEAKER_19: So your name?
- 11:18SPEAKER_11: Uh Doug.
- 11:19SPEAKER_19: Doug.
- 11:19SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 11:20SPEAKER_19: Uh Steve Carter.
- 11:21SPEAKER_19: Branch of the Armed Forces.
- 11:23SPEAKER_19: Marines.
- 11:24SPEAKER_19: Marines.
- 11:25SPEAKER_19: Country in which you served.
- 11:28SPEAKER_19: All of them?
- 11:29SPEAKER_19: Yeah, but you were you were based you were stationed in the US.
- 11:33SPEAKER_19: Right?
- 11:33SPEAKER_19: No.
- 11:33SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 11:34SPEAKER_19: You didn't basically, yeah.
- 11:35SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 11:36SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 11:36SPEAKER_19: Uh dates served.
- 11:39SPEAKER_04: 90 to 94.
- 11:41SPEAKER_19: 90 to 94?
- 11:42SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 11:42SPEAKER_19: Uh a picture of the veteran in uniform would be great, but not necessary.
- 11:46SPEAKER_04: I do have a picture.
- 11:47SPEAKER_19: Do you?
- 11:47SPEAKER_19: Yeah, somewhere.
- 11:48SPEAKER_19: You can send it to me if you want.
- 11:49SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 11:49SPEAKER_19: Uh and six, how are you related to this person or how do you know him or her?
- 11:55SPEAKER_03: He hangs out my basement.
- 12:00SPEAKER_03: I just I don't know.
- 12:02SPEAKER_03: He just comes over.
- 12:03SPEAKER_03: He's in my basement all the time.
- 12:04SPEAKER_03: I don't know what he does.
- 12:10SPEAKER_03: Could you put that down?
- 12:12SPEAKER_03: That'd be great.
- 12:13SPEAKER_03: How do you know this person?
- 12:15SPEAKER_03: He's in my basement.
- 12:16SPEAKER_03: I'd be like, is he real?
- 12:20SPEAKER_19: It's an imaginary friend like we talked about last year.
- 12:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we talked about imaginary friends.
- 12:24SPEAKER_03: His name's Doc.
- 12:25SPEAKER_03: He was a Marine.
- 12:26SPEAKER_19: You will write this information on a paper brick, which will be displayed for all to see.
- 12:30SPEAKER_19: Uh we are proud of them.
- 12:32SPEAKER_19: This is also an excellent opportunity to hear interesting stories of the Veteran Service.
- 12:36SPEAKER_19: So please encourage them to share by asking other questions you may think of.
- 12:39SPEAKER_19: And don't forget to thank the veterans for making our freedom possible.
- 12:44SPEAKER_19: So, uh, yeah, so we've got all that information on recorded now.
- 12:49SPEAKER_19: So you're losing my basement.
- 12:52SPEAKER_19: So if you send me the picture, I will put he he hangs out in my basement.
- 12:58SPEAKER_03: Please do that.
- 12:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:59SPEAKER_03: That would be awesome.
- 12:59SPEAKER_19: That would be fun.
- 13:01SPEAKER_19: He hangs out with my dad in the basement.
- 13:04SPEAKER_03: Myra, is this a real person?
- 13:06SPEAKER_03: Once in a while he yells at stuff.
- 13:09SPEAKER_03: She asked me today, she said and he likes tomorrow so he calls his girlfriend baby.
- 13:14SPEAKER_19: He calls his girlfriend baby.
- 13:16SPEAKER_19: He she asked me, uh, she said, Is the Marines part of the Navy?
- 13:20SPEAKER_19: And I said Unfortunately.
- 13:22SPEAKER_19: I said, and and of course Finn was in the car too.
- 13:25SPEAKER_19: And I said, the Marines is real is is kind of uh attached to the Navy.
- 13:31SPEAKER_19: And and Finn's like, well, well they're attached to all of them.
- 13:34SPEAKER_19: I was like, mm, kind of, but the Marines and the Navy work together.
- 13:38SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 13:38SPEAKER_19: And he didn't really understand that.
- 13:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:40SPEAKER_04: Uh Marines are a department of the Navy.
- 13:42SPEAKER_04: Because if you look at the Marine, it's like US and Marine Corps Department of Navy.
- 13:47SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 13:48SPEAKER_04: But we're the men's department.
- 13:49SPEAKER_19: I was like, I knew you were gonna say something like that.
- 13:52SPEAKER_19: I'm just saying.
- 13:52SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 13:53SPEAKER_19: What's the old saying that you you've said before, where uh you you're the boat the boats to take us there, or something like that?
- 14:04SPEAKER_04: The Navy is basically Marine Uber.
- 14:06SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 14:07SPEAKER_19: That's what's something like that.
- 14:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 14:08SPEAKER_04: Well, it's from uh A Few Good Men.
- 14:10SPEAKER_04: Is that what it is?
- 14:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 14:12SPEAKER_04: Keith Sullivan's talking to Tom Cruise, and he's like, Yeah, I like you Navy boys.
- 14:15SPEAKER_04: Whenever we gotta go somewhere to fight, you boys always give us a rap.
- 14:18SPEAKER_19: Yeah, that's what it was.
- 14:19SPEAKER_19: That's what it was.
- 14:20SPEAKER_19: I can't I couldn't remember that.
- 14:22SPEAKER_19: I knew you said that.
- 14:23SPEAKER_19: Yeah, but I forgot that it was in A Few Good Men.
- 14:26SPEAKER_19: What a great movie.
- 14:26SPEAKER_19: That was a great movie.
- 14:27SPEAKER_19: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:28SPEAKER_19: Um okay, so back to our music commentary.
- 14:33SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, that's what we're doing.
- 14:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's what we do, because that's what we do here.
- 14:37SPEAKER_04: I forgot what we did.
- 14:38SPEAKER_19: Uh let's see.
- 14:39SPEAKER_19: First off, I have well, so let's let's talk about everything that's in uh the news now for Ultimate Classic Rock.
- 14:46SPEAKER_19: All right.
- 14:47SPEAKER_19: Um first of all, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is this weekend.
- 14:52SPEAKER_04: Well, it was this weekend.
- 14:53SPEAKER_19: Was this weekend, sorry.
- 14:54SPEAKER_19: Um Foreigner went in.
- 14:56SPEAKER_19: Jimmy Buffett went in.
- 14:58SPEAKER_19: Uh Peter Frampton went in.
- 15:01SPEAKER_19: Good.
- 15:02SPEAKER_19: Uh Cher.
- 15:04SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 15:06SPEAKER_19: I know there was some a lot of performance.
- 15:08SPEAKER_19: MC5 was on.
- 15:09SPEAKER_19: Oh, yeah, good fair.
- 15:10SPEAKER_19: A lot of performances.
- 15:11SPEAKER_19: Sammy Hagar performed uh hot blooded.
- 15:13SPEAKER_19: Yeah, I saw that.
- 15:14SPEAKER_19: Slash was on guitar.
- 15:16SPEAKER_19: Um, Ozzy went in as a solo artist.
- 15:19SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, yeah, that's right.
- 15:20SPEAKER_19: Wolfgang played Crazy Train.
- 15:24SPEAKER_19: Maynard James Keenan sang it.
- 15:26SPEAKER_19: Oh.
- 15:27SPEAKER_19: Well, actually, both of them.
- 15:27SPEAKER_19: They went, they they traded off vocals, and I saw a video of that too, which was pretty cool.
- 15:32SPEAKER_19: So uh that's all over the news on Ultimate Classic Rock, and also we're still still, you know, siphoning stuff from Alex Van Halen's book.
- 15:42SPEAKER_19: Um the book is basically um Roth's Years.
- 15:49SPEAKER_19: He doesn't even touch on Sammy's years.
- 15:50SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 15:51SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 15:51SPEAKER_04: He still hates Sammy, huh?
- 15:52SPEAKER_19: Um he's he's basically like they're they're two different bands, which we've always always said.
- 15:58SPEAKER_04: True.
- 15:58SPEAKER_19: Um he wanted to concentrate on the years that they were starting out because those were the years that they could do anything.
- 16:10SPEAKER_19: Oh, true, yeah.
- 16:10SPEAKER_19: Yeah, you know, and those were um I was trying to find that one.
- 16:15SPEAKER_19: Uh he said that the split with David Lee Roth was wasteful.
- 16:18SPEAKER_19: The original split back in 84, 85.
- 16:22SPEAKER_19: Um he said that it was the most devastating part of his life, aside from his brother dying.
- 16:28SPEAKER_19: Wow.
- 16:29SPEAKER_19: Was when Roth laughed.
- 16:30SPEAKER_19: Because uh I I just think he thought the band was over.
- 16:35SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 16:35SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 16:36SPEAKER_19: Um and let's see.
- 16:38SPEAKER_19: I'm trying to think of a couple of the other things because I read all of those articles uh about Alex's book.
- 16:45SPEAKER_19: Uh I'm trying to think if there was another one.
- 16:47SPEAKER_19: There I mean So the Rock Hall.
- 16:52SPEAKER_04: Oh, uh talk about Jake Lee.
- 16:54SPEAKER_04: I still haven't figured that out.
- 16:56SPEAKER_19: I'm gonna get to that.
- 16:57SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 16:57SPEAKER_19: Uh unheard Van Halen music is coming, but you may not like it.
- 17:01SPEAKER_19: That's another thing that he said.
- 17:02SPEAKER_19: So he said that there's all kinds of music.
- 17:05SPEAKER_19: You know, like Oh, we knew that.
- 17:06SPEAKER_19: Yeah, you know that but you know, like that unfinished thing that they released with his book?
- 17:11SPEAKER_19: A lot of it is like that.
- 17:12SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, I I'm sure, yeah.
- 17:14SPEAKER_19: You know, it's just him noodling.
- 17:15SPEAKER_19: It's just him noodling and then and it says it doesn't sound like Van Halen.
- 17:18SPEAKER_19: I mean, it sounds like Eddie, obviously, but it doesn't sound like a Van Halen song.
- 17:22SPEAKER_04: I never expected any like new Van Halen.
- 17:24SPEAKER_04: Is that Ringo Star wearing a cowboy hat?
- 17:26SPEAKER_19: Yeah, he's coming out with a country album.
- 17:28SPEAKER_04: I actually I'm not surprised.
- 17:29SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean Because he was a big country fan.
- 17:31SPEAKER_19: Well, I mean the song, a lot of the songs he did with the Beatles.
- 17:33SPEAKER_19: Yeah, were country.
- 17:34SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 17:35SPEAKER_19: Uh no, uh Alex Van Halen says Sammy Hagar isn't doing the band justice.
- 17:40unknown: Wow.
- 17:40SPEAKER_19: Remember when he went out with the that tour or whatever, he says he wasn't doing the band justice.
- 17:44SPEAKER_19: So I just think there's There's some animosity.
- 17:47SPEAKER_19: There's some animosity there.
- 17:48SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 17:49SPEAKER_19: Nikki Six says Motley Crue were forced to fire Mick Mars.
- 17:52SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 17:53SPEAKER_19: Yeah, I don't think so.
- 17:54SPEAKER_19: I doubt that.
- 17:56SPEAKER_19: Um so yeah, let's go back to Jake E.
- 17:58SPEAKER_19: Lee.
- 17:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'm really very curious about that.
- 18:00SPEAKER_19: Jake E.
- 18:01SPEAKER_19: Lee, if you don't know, is um well, he he was in the Osborne's band.
- 18:07SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 18:08SPEAKER_19: Um after well, Brad Gillis came in, right?
- 18:12SPEAKER_04: Well, he Brad Gillis came after Ray Rhodes died.
- 18:15SPEAKER_19: And he only was there for a tour.
- 18:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, just to finish that tour.
- 18:18SPEAKER_19: Yeah, and then I think they brought Jake E.
- 18:19SPEAKER_19: Lee.
- 18:20SPEAKER_04: I think that's yeah, yeah.
- 18:21SPEAKER_19: Um and so anyway, uh, but he's got he went on to a couple other bands too.
- 18:26SPEAKER_19: So wasn't he in Kiss for a while?
- 18:28SPEAKER_19: Jake E.
- 18:28SPEAKER_19: Lee?
- 18:28SPEAKER_19: I don't think so.
- 18:29SPEAKER_04: Maybe not.
- 18:30SPEAKER_19: No.
- 18:30SPEAKER_19: He was in uh what was the band that he I don't know.
- 18:35SPEAKER_19: It was a good band though.
- 18:37SPEAKER_19: So he apparently, and I didn't get to read this article.
- 18:42SPEAKER_19: He he well, he was shot fifteen times.
- 18:46SPEAKER_19: Well, no, he wasn't shot fifteen times.
- 18:47SPEAKER_19: He was shot at fifteen times.
- 18:49SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 18:50SPEAKER_19: But he got hit uh Well he got hit multiple times.
- 18:54SPEAKER_04: Multiple times.
- 18:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 18:55SPEAKER_19: And he's gonna be okay, thankfully.
- 18:57SPEAKER_19: Uh so he was walking his dog late at night near his Las Vegas home when he shot when he was shot three times in what was first described as a random attack.
- 19:05SPEAKER_19: He'd previously said the shooter had emptied his clip and fifteen shells had been found at the scene, noting that he could only dodge so many, so one bullet went through my forearm, went through one through my foot, and one in the back, which broke a rib and damaged a lung.
- 19:19SPEAKER_19: In a new update, Jakey Lee thanked his fans for their continued concern and reported he was out of the hospital and recuperating at home while expressing gratitude to the medical staff who cared for him.
- 19:30SPEAKER_19: Walking home from our walk, Coco and I crossed paths with a couple of thieves dressed darkly, hoodies pulled down their faces, and masks covering their mouths, standing in a neighbor's driveway checking out his motorcycle.
- 19:42SPEAKER_19: There was a verbal confrontation which ended with an agreement that I would walk one way and they would walk the opposite.
- 19:48SPEAKER_19: That didn't work out.
- 19:49SPEAKER_19: He added, I'll probably talk in more detail about it later, but right now I can only comfortably do a little at a time.
- 19:56SPEAKER_19: Sounds like that he saw them trying to steal a neighbor's motorcycle.
- 20:02SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 20:03SPEAKER_19: He said, Hey, cut it out, and they said, You go that way.
- 20:06SPEAKER_19: Keep walking.
- 20:07SPEAKER_19: Keep walking.
- 20:07SPEAKER_04: And then I'm gonna shoot you in the back like a jerk.
- 20:09SPEAKER_19: That's what they did.
- 20:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 20:11SPEAKER_19: So, but he is recuperating, so that's Well, he's lucky, man.
- 20:14SPEAKER_19: That's good news.
- 20:16SPEAKER_04: And that rookie from San Francisco finally got to play after he was shot.
- 20:20SPEAKER_04: Did he?
- 20:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he played this weekend.
- 20:22SPEAKER_19: And they lost.
- 20:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah, well.
- 20:25SPEAKER_19: Um I was, you know, because I got a bunch of players on uh Kansas City, so I was hoping my players would do well, but I wanted Sam Fran to win.
- 20:34SPEAKER_19: Right, obviously.
- 20:35SPEAKER_19: Uh let me find out what bands, because there was a pretty oh Badlands.
- 20:39SPEAKER_19: Badlands, yeah, that's right.
- 20:40SPEAKER_19: Badlands was actually a great band.
- 20:42SPEAKER_19: Um and then his latest was Red Dragon Cartel, which I had a cool name, actually.
- 20:48SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 20:49SPEAKER_19: Which I hadn't heard anything from, but I heard they were pretty good as well.
- 20:53SPEAKER_19: So uh Jakey Lee, hopefully on the mend.
- 20:56SPEAKER_19: So that's good news.
- 20:57SPEAKER_19: Um I also have let's see what else is in the news.
- 21:01SPEAKER_19: Um we talked about Jakey Lee.
- 21:05SPEAKER_19: Oh, ELO is is their final concert is coming up.
- 21:09SPEAKER_19: They're gonna retire.

- 21:12SPEAKER_19: Oh, Paul Diano, original lead singer for Iron Maiden, died.
- 21:16SPEAKER_19: Oh.
- 21:16SPEAKER_19: He was uh he was 66, he had a lot of health problems.
- 21:20SPEAKER_19: Um so that's that's not a surprise.
- 21:23SPEAKER_19: Um do you want to know what the 20 most streamed Beatles songs are?
- 21:28SPEAKER_19: Do you care?
- 21:29SPEAKER_04: Of course I care, it's the Beatles.
- 21:31SPEAKER_19: Um You Need Is Love.
- 21:35SPEAKER_19: I would have thought that would be higher.
- 21:37SPEAKER_04: I thought that would be lower because it sucks.
- 21:40SPEAKER_04: Really, I I really hate that song.
- 21:42SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 21:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:43SPEAKER_04: Not as much as Revolution 9 or Hello Goodbye, but Yeah, see, I like Hello Goodbye.

- 22:20SPEAKER_19: I'm thinking probably like Here Comes the Sun is way up there.
- 22:24SPEAKER_19: I'm thinking uh Twist and Shout.
- 22:27SPEAKER_04: Something.
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, something.
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, that would be up there.

- 23:10SPEAKER_19: I don't like that song.
- 23:11SPEAKER_19: Really?
- 23:12SPEAKER_19: I really don't.
- 23:12SPEAKER_19: I didn't like Aerosmith's cover of it.
- 23:14SPEAKER_19: I don't, you know.
- 23:16SPEAKER_04: You like Robin Williams and Bobby McFarn's cover of it?
- 23:22SPEAKER_04: I don't remember that.
- 23:23SPEAKER_04: That's pretty actually pretty good because Bobby McFarn does all the instriation and Robin Williams sings it.
- 23:31SPEAKER_19: I think I've heard it, but I don't remember it.
- 23:40SPEAKER_19: Before I finish the list, let's just listen to that for a second.
- 23:45SPEAKER_16: Not the commercial.
- 23:56SPEAKER_19: Yeah, I like this better already.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: He got hair down to his knee.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: Got to be a joker.

- 24:26SPEAKER_19: I don't think so.
- 24:30SPEAKER_19: Oh, there's drums.
- 24:31SPEAKER_19: Is that him playing the drums?
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, me dude.
- 24:36SPEAKER_19: Yeah, I already like that better.
- 24:38SPEAKER_19: Uh what do you think number one is?
- 24:40SPEAKER_19: Because we haven't gotten to it yet.
- 24:42SPEAKER_19: So come together's number two.
- 24:44SPEAKER_19: We uh um I had said Here Comes the Sun.
- 24:48SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 24:48SPEAKER_19: I think that's probably up there.
- 24:49SPEAKER_04: Probably up there, yeah.
- 24:51SPEAKER_19: Any any guesses?
- 24:52SPEAKER_19: No.
- 24:52SPEAKER_19: No.
- 24:54SPEAKER_19: Here comes the sun.
- 24:55SPEAKER_04: Number one.
- 24:56SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 24:57SPEAKER_19: I I knew that had to be on the list, and the only reason I thought it might be number one is because we hadn't seen it yet.
- 25:02SPEAKER_04: Here comes the sun.
- 25:03SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 25:04SPEAKER_04: Uh fun fact about uh come together.
- 25:06SPEAKER_04: That shit.
- 25:08SPEAKER_04: You know what John Lennon's saying there?

- 25:12SPEAKER_15: Really?
- 25:16SPEAKER_04: Shoot me.
- 25:18SPEAKER_04: But you can't hear the me part or the bass?
- 25:20SPEAKER_04: Because the bass comes in.
- 25:22SPEAKER_19: Fun fact about Here Comes the Sun.
- 25:24SPEAKER_19: Did you about the sun?
- 25:26SPEAKER_19: It was written on Eric Clapton's guitar.
- 25:29SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, we talked about that.
- 25:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, in his garden.
- 25:32SPEAKER_19: In his garden.
- 25:32SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 25:33SPEAKER_19: We're just full of it.
- 25:35SPEAKER_19: We're full of it.
- 25:36SPEAKER_19: Full of useless information.
- 25:37SPEAKER_03: Let's go to Sabaros.
- 25:42SPEAKER_19: How long has Sabarro's been out of the mall?
- 25:44SPEAKER_19: I have no idea.

- 26:25SPEAKER_19: Did you?
- 26:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and his fiance, he's gonna be there.
- 26:27SPEAKER_19: Is he?
- 26:28SPEAKER_19: Yeah.

- 26:38SPEAKER_19: Uh so I know he's back up here.
- 26:39SPEAKER_19: What's where's he working?
- 26:40SPEAKER_04: Is it me to not Ricky, not not Kyle.
- 26:44SPEAKER_19: Oh, that's right.
- 26:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.

- 26:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I know, right?
- 26:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:52SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 26:53SPEAKER_19: But yeah, I figured Ricky would be there.

- 27:13SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 27:44SPEAKER_18: Drums don't sound real.
- 27:49SPEAKER_04: It might not be.
- 27:52SPEAKER_04: But it's hard to tell now it is.
- 27:58SPEAKER_04: You can tell.
- 27:59SPEAKER_04: Electronic drums and wheel drums nowadays.
- 28:01SPEAKER_04: The technology is so much better.
- 28:13SPEAKER_04: Well, so far it's a it's a typical deep track on a cure album.
- 28:19SPEAKER_16: I mean, I don't I don't dislike it, but I would like to hear this is supposed to be a lyric video.

- 29:07SPEAKER_19: This is the end of every song that we sing.
- 29:14SPEAKER_04: It sounds just like yeah, no, it sounds just like, you know, it's like 30 years later.
- 30:06SPEAKER_19: Okay, I'm gonna stop it there.
- 30:08SPEAKER_19: Uh it's good.
- 30:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's yeah, it's good.

- 30:56SPEAKER_19: Third Christmas album says season three for me and you.
- 31:02SPEAKER_02: This isn't really a Christmas song.
- 31:04SPEAKER_02: I think too much.
- 31:05SPEAKER_19: It's not.
- 31:07SPEAKER_19: But his The Season Three.
- 31:15SPEAKER_19: And I read an article too that he's got a bunch of new music that he's just sitting on.
- 31:20SPEAKER_04: Well, nothing will it as far as Christmas songs are concerned, nothing's ever gonna be William Shatner and Henry Rollins doing jingle bells.
- 31:27SPEAKER_04: That's that is the be-all end-all of Christmas songs.
- 31:32SPEAKER_04: Okay, now it's over.

- 34:39SPEAKER_19: Record store day needs to change or go away.
- 34:41SPEAKER_19: Because it doesn't do any good anymore.
- 34:45SPEAKER_19: Whatever.

- 35:12SPEAKER_19: Except Van Halen Live in Dallas, 1991.
- 35:17SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 35:17SPEAKER_19: So that's uh that's what we got coming out in November.
- 35:20SPEAKER_19: Uh kind of blah.
- 35:21SPEAKER_19: Kinda blah.
- 35:22SPEAKER_19: Pretty much.
- 35:23SPEAKER_19: Yeah, I'm not uh not too impressed.
- 35:27SPEAKER_03: What else?
- 35:27SPEAKER_03: Anything else?
- 35:29SPEAKER_03: No.
- 35:29SPEAKER_03: No.
- 35:29SPEAKER_03: You know what time it is?
- 35:31SPEAKER_03: Mixtape!
- 35:33SPEAKER_19: I thought we weren't doing it.
- 35:33SPEAKER_19: Did she did you hear from her?
- 35:34SPEAKER_19: Yes.
- 35:35SPEAKER_19: Oh, okay.
- 35:35SPEAKER_19: Mixtape.
- 35:36SPEAKER_19: Yay! I was under the impress Hold on.
- 35:42SPEAKER_19: Blessed art though.
- 35:43SPEAKER_19: Thank you.
- 35:43SPEAKER_19: I was under the impression that we weren't gonna do it because we hadn't heard from our uh wonderful lady.
- 35:49SPEAKER_04: She uh she's like I said, she's busy today.
- 35:53SPEAKER_04: Of course.
- 35:53SPEAKER_04: And uh we're not doing it uh, you know, on our regular time, so she wasn't ready, but she's true.
- 35:59SPEAKER_04: She came through in a pinch.
- 36:00SPEAKER_04: She's awesome.
- 36:01SPEAKER_19: Okay, so past, present, and future.
- 36:02SPEAKER_19: We're gonna start.
- 36:02SPEAKER_19: So we're gonna start with past.
- 36:04SPEAKER_04: Okay, so this is from last week.
- 36:05SPEAKER_04: Uh so this week was actually kind of easy for me.
- 36:08SPEAKER_04: I really enjoyed the picks.
- 36:10SPEAKER_04: They were all different and all sounded like rebellious punk songs.
- 36:13SPEAKER_04: I struggled to listen to songs that have no real depth or story.
- 36:16SPEAKER_04: I don't even remember what I picked.
- 36:18SPEAKER_04: Um I don't remember what you picked either.
- 36:21SPEAKER_19: It was it was a song that songs that signify.
- 36:25SPEAKER_19: Our rebellion.
- 36:26SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 36:26SPEAKER_19: Anyway.
- 36:27SPEAKER_04: Okay, anyway.
- 36:28SPEAKER_04: While I enjoyed instruments, instruments and both Killing in the Name of it and rock and roll high school, both songs repeated the same four or five phrases over and over.
- 36:35SPEAKER_04: I had to go with anthrax, I'm the man.
- 36:37SPEAKER_04: Oh, I'm the man, that's right.
- 36:38SPEAKER_19: That's right.
- 36:39SPEAKER_04: Lyrics alone are just well interesting to say the least, but certainly tell the story of some punk ass kid being a little jerk.
- 36:45SPEAKER_04: Definitely the epitome of a rebellion stage.
- 36:48SPEAKER_04: Uh I laughed when I heard the question, honestly, and I and I honestly I instantly picked Anthem from good Charlotte from myself.
- 36:57SPEAKER_04: I'm such a nineties kid.
- 36:58SPEAKER_04: I had all their albums up until recent years.
- 37:02SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 37:02SPEAKER_19: Just give her a little promise here.
- 37:11SPEAKER_19: I'll be honest.
- 37:13SPEAKER_19: I don't know anything.
- 37:14SPEAKER_19: I don't really either.
- 38:26SPEAKER_19: Um it's uh it's not you.
- 38:31SPEAKER_04: No, it's the same song.
- 38:32SPEAKER_04: Right, yeah, pretty much.
- 38:33SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, yeah, pretty much.
- 38:34SPEAKER_04: Um I'll have to play that for her sometime.
- 38:37SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 38:37SPEAKER_19: Yeah, it was c well, I mean, it's really poorly recorded, but yeah.
- 38:42SPEAKER_04: It's still good.
- 38:42SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 38:42SPEAKER_04: It's not good.
- 38:44SPEAKER_03: It's not good.
- 38:45SPEAKER_19: Shall we play it?
- 38:45SPEAKER_19: No.
- 38:46SPEAKER_04: No.
- 38:46SPEAKER_19: No, we'll wait.
- 38:47SPEAKER_19: We'll do it another time.
- 38:48SPEAKER_19: Okay, so cool.
- 38:49SPEAKER_19: That's two in a row.
- 38:50SPEAKER_19: Uh two weeks in a row for me.
- 38:51SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 38:52SPEAKER_04: Can't be that important.
- 38:53SPEAKER_04: You didn't take a screenshot of it.
- 38:55SPEAKER_19: Shut up.
- 38:56SPEAKER_19: I'm still number first.
- 38:58SPEAKER_19: I'm still number one.
- 38:58SPEAKER_19: Sabarro's.
- 39:00SPEAKER_19: And I think if if so there's a possibility.
- 39:05SPEAKER_19: We're talking about NFL fantasy, by the way.
- 39:08SPEAKER_19: There's a possibility that Eli gets beat this week by cousin Larry.
- 39:13SPEAKER_04: Well, that'd be good because Cousin Larry has had roughly.
- 39:16SPEAKER_19: He has.
- 39:17SPEAKER_19: So yes.
- 39:18SPEAKER_19: He could be a giant killer.
- 39:20SPEAKER_19: That's good.
- 39:21SPEAKER_19: Uh Eli has 51 minutes remaining.
- 39:25SPEAKER_19: Uh he's at 116, Cousin Larry's at 149.
- 39:29SPEAKER_19: Eli has well, Lamar Jackson's playing right now.
- 39:34SPEAKER_19: Uh, and I think that's all he has is Lamar Jackson.
- 39:37SPEAKER_19: So Lamar Jackson has to have a very good game.
- 39:40SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 39:41SPEAKER_19: Uh for Eli to pull one out over Cousin Larry.
- 39:44SPEAKER_19: But if he doesn't and he loses, I am the last remaining undefeated uh person.
- 39:53SPEAKER_19: Not that that means anything, because I haven't really done anything.
- 39:56SPEAKER_19: Like, there's it's not skill.
- 39:58SPEAKER_19: There's no skill involved.
- 39:59SPEAKER_04: No, it's just all pure luck.
- 40:01SPEAKER_19: It is.
- 40:01SPEAKER_19: It's pure luck.
- 40:02SPEAKER_19: But I will brag about it.
- 40:05SPEAKER_19: Anyway.
- 40:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we know.
- 40:06SPEAKER_04: We've been there.
- 40:08SPEAKER_19: Okay, so we did pass.
- 40:09SPEAKER_19: Now it's present.
- 40:10SPEAKER_19: Present.
- 40:11SPEAKER_04: So this is the wine one.
- 40:13SPEAKER_04: You see someone else pour the last glass of wine, what song plays in your head?
- 40:17SPEAKER_04: I got nothing.
- 40:18SPEAKER_04: I didn't even.
- 40:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, this is this is a really kind of one.
- 40:21SPEAKER_04: But this is what Cousin Larry said.
- 40:23SPEAKER_04: There are many songs that mention wine out there, red, red wine, scenes from an Italian restaurant, Sweet Cherry Wine by Tommy James and the Chandelles country.
- 40:30SPEAKER_04: I know what he's gonna pick because I do not like wine, but I tried but I tried to approach the question from the perspective of someone who does.
- 40:37SPEAKER_04: The one I thought that has nothing to do with wine but made me chuckle when I thought of us was the end by the doors.
- 40:45SPEAKER_04: This is the end, beautiful friend.
- 40:47SPEAKER_04: This is the end, my only friend, the end.
- 40:49SPEAKER_04: I could see a lover of wine feeling that way when someone uh someone else pours the last glass of wine.
- 40:54SPEAKER_04: The end is my choice.
- 40:56SPEAKER_19: Alright, let's play a little bit of that.
- 40:58SPEAKER_19: I think I just I think I just uh picked mine, by the way.
- 41:12SPEAKER_19: We can't play this whole thing because this is like 127 minutes long.
- 41:16SPEAKER_04: 12 minutes long.
- 41:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 41:23SPEAKER_19: I jumped.
- 41:24SPEAKER_12: That wasn't that wasn't a blip in your This is the air There we go.
- 41:31SPEAKER_12: Beautiful friend that tambourine in your left ear.
- 41:38SPEAKER_19: Yeah, yeah.
- 41:38SPEAKER_19: It's kinda cool.
- 41:39SPEAKER_12: It's always like my L.
- 41:42SPEAKER_19: I just like when you listen to this music from the 60s in headphones, it's yeah.
- 41:56SPEAKER_19: And I maintain that analog sounds so much better than it's a good idea.
- 42:00SPEAKER_19: Anyway.
- 42:01SPEAKER_19: Alright, so there's Cousin Larry's.
- 42:03SPEAKER_19: Yep.
- 42:03SPEAKER_19: Do you want to do yours?
- 42:04SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 42:05SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 42:05SPEAKER_04: Mine is Round Midnight by Miles Davis.
- 42:09SPEAKER_04: Interesting.
- 42:10SPEAKER_04: Actually, by Thelonious Monk, but uh Miles Davis did a great uh version of it on his uh kind of blue album.
- 42:18SPEAKER_19: Oh, okay, so you want Miles' version.
- 42:20SPEAKER_19: Yeah, I want Miles' version.
- 42:27SPEAKER_19: Official audio right there.
- 43:22SPEAKER_19: I've always wondered this.
- 43:24SPEAKER_04: Did Miles Davis ever go to Saboros?
- 43:26SPEAKER_04: No, no.
- 43:27SPEAKER_04: Maybe.
- 43:29SPEAKER_19: No.
- 43:31SPEAKER_19: Like, for example.
- 43:33SPEAKER_19: Did he write this song?
- 43:35SPEAKER_19: Thelonius Monk wrote this song.
- 43:36SPEAKER_19: Thelonius Monk wrote this song.
- 43:38SPEAKER_19: But did he?
- 43:38SPEAKER_19: Who?
- 43:39SPEAKER_19: Thelonious Monk.
- 43:41SPEAKER_19: So what I mean is.
- 43:42SPEAKER_04: Well, you don't really write jazz.
- 43:43SPEAKER_19: Well, here's the hit that's what I'm saying.
- 43:45SPEAKER_19: So obviously there's chord pro there's a chord progression.
- 43:47SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 43:48SPEAKER_19: They're playing chords.
- 43:48SPEAKER_19: They're comping.
- 43:49SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 43:49SPEAKER_19: You know, chords.
- 43:52SPEAKER_19: Is he just vibing and just blowing?
- 43:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 43:56SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, play play Thelonious Monk's version.
- 43:59SPEAKER_19: I mean, like.
- 44:00SPEAKER_19: Like is there a melody?
- 44:01SPEAKER_19: Like is he or is he just playing?
- 44:03SPEAKER_04: He's just he's Miles Davis.
- 44:05SPEAKER_04: He didn't care.
- 44:07SPEAKER_19: So I guess my question is, like, if you were to find um if you were to find music for Round Midnight, like written out music.
- 44:19SPEAKER_19: I don't know.
- 44:20SPEAKER_19: Would it would it be?
- 44:28SPEAKER_19: This would be written out.
- 44:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 44:35SPEAKER_19: But if Miles Davis is just he's just vamping, vamping on on that.
- 45:03SPEAKER_19: Yeah, that's that's cool stuff.
- 45:06SPEAKER_19: So uh that was my choice.
- 45:08SPEAKER_19: That's cool.
- 45:09SPEAKER_19: But it was the Miles Davis version, not the one you just read.
- 45:11SPEAKER_19: Right.
- 45:11SPEAKER_19: Okay, so mine I didn't think of it until just now.
- 45:17SPEAKER_19: And it's quite literal, actually.
- 45:19SPEAKER_17: Um, Eric Burden in War.
- 45:43SPEAKER_17: Oh yeah.
- 45:44SPEAKER_17: Spill the wine.
- 45:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:46SPEAKER_04: I was like, I know this song, but nineteen seventy.
- 45:55SPEAKER_05: I was once out strolling one very hot summer day when I thought I'd lay myself down to rest in a big field of tall grass.
- 46:12SPEAKER_05: I lay there in the sun and felt it resting my face.
- 46:19SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah, this is definitely a wine song.
- 46:24SPEAKER_05: Hey, look, he's out.
- 46:26SPEAKER_05: I dreamed I was in a Hollywood mood that I was the star of the mood.
- 46:33SPEAKER_19: So anyway, I went quite literally from the title Spill the Wine.
- 46:37SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 46:37SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 46:38SPEAKER_19: The fact that me, an overfed long head, and I I will not be offended if she does not choose the Butch.
- 46:52SPEAKER_19: I want to get to the chorus here.
- 46:58SPEAKER_06: One round one big one.
- 47:07SPEAKER_06: She stays.
- 47:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 47:10SPEAKER_04: I heard local.
- 47:13SPEAKER_10: Do one.
- 47:17SPEAKER_10: Do one.
- 47:21SPEAKER_10: Do whine.
- 47:24SPEAKER_19: Yeah, so there's mine.
- 47:25SPEAKER_19: All right.
- 47:26SPEAKER_19: Eric Burton and War.
- 47:27SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 47:27SPEAKER_19: Spill the wine.
- 47:28SPEAKER_03: Spill the wine.
- 47:30SPEAKER_19: Uh, so that's present.
- 47:33SPEAKER_04: Time for future.
- 47:35SPEAKER_19: What what uh what is the question?
- 47:37SPEAKER_04: It is.
- 47:38SPEAKER_04: It's actually a pretty good one.
- 47:40SPEAKER_19: Is that why you chuckled?
- 47:42SPEAKER_19: You chuckled a little bit.
- 47:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we're we're gonna have fun with this one.
- 47:46SPEAKER_04: What song would you play during a job interview to convince your employer, Kevin Bacon, to hire you?
- 47:55SPEAKER_19: Wow.
- 47:58SPEAKER_19: So Kevin Bacon is trying to get a job with Kevin Bacon.
- 48:02SPEAKER_19: And you need to convince him to hire you.
- 48:04SPEAKER_19: What song would you play?
- 48:09SPEAKER_19: Alright.
- 48:10SPEAKER_19: I can think of a lot of different things.
- 48:12SPEAKER_19: I know, right?
- 48:12SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 48:16SPEAKER_19: Yeah, alright.
- 48:17SPEAKER_19: Alright.
- 48:18SPEAKER_19: That one is relatively easy, I think.
- 48:20SPEAKER_19: Well easy.
- 48:21SPEAKER_19: A lot easier than this one.
- 48:22SPEAKER_19: Yeah, that's for sure.
- 48:23SPEAKER_19: That's for sure.

- 50:02SPEAKER_04: Hey, how's it going, everybody?
- 50:06SPEAKER_19: It's time to uh climb the wall of tunes, and while I take my headphones off and do that, uh, after I play this music.
- 50:15SPEAKER_01: Ah, it's lovely.
- 50:17SPEAKER_19: Um Doug is gonna read from the hard days right.
- 50:21SPEAKER_04: And this is from the hard days night.
- 50:22SPEAKER_04: Ha ha usually what it is.
- 50:25SPEAKER_04: Ah, the song is Can't Buy Me Love.
- 50:28SPEAKER_04: In January 1964, the Beatles went to Paris for 18 days of concerts at the Olympia Theater.
- 50:35SPEAKER_04: They stayed at the five-star George V Hotel.
- 50:38SPEAKER_04: I'm sure that's George V, but you know, whatever.
- 50:42SPEAKER_04: Just off the Champs Elise.
- 50:45SPEAKER_04: And an upright piano was moved into one of their suites so that songwriting could continue.
- 50:50SPEAKER_04: It was here that John and Paul wrote One and One is Two for fellow Liverpool group, The Strangers, and Paul came up with Can't Buy Me Love.
- 51:00SPEAKER_04: With a new single due in March, the news that I Wanna Hold Your Hand had rocketed to the top of the market charts.
- 51:06SPEAKER_04: There was no time to waste.
- 51:08SPEAKER_04: George Martin, who had come to the Pave Marconi studios in Paris to record the newly written song, made the suggestion of starting it with the chorus.
- 51:19SPEAKER_04: Although she loves you, I want to be your man, don't bother me, and all my loving were all used on a hard day's night.
- 51:26SPEAKER_04: Can't Buy Me Love was the only previously released song to be included on the soundtracked album.
- 51:31SPEAKER_04: This was because it was pulled into the film at a late stage to replace I'll cry instead, which director Dick Lester didn't think was right for the scene in question.
- 51:40SPEAKER_04: Can't Buy Me Love was used in the film as the group ran down a fire escape at the back of the theater, actually Odien in Hammersmith, London, and fooled around on some open ground, partly playing fields in Islesworth.
- 51:54SPEAKER_04: It was the group's first experience of freedom in the film after having been locked in for days in cars, trains, dressing rooms, and hotels.
- 52:02SPEAKER_04: Screenwriter Alan Owen remembers my stage direction at this point was very simple.
- 52:09SPEAKER_04: It read, The boys come down the fire escape is the first time they've been free.
- 52:13SPEAKER_04: They run about and play silly buggers.
- 52:17SPEAKER_04: American journalists asked Paul in 1966 whether Can't Buy Me Love was a song about prostitution.
- 52:22SPEAKER_04: He replied that all of the songs were open to interpretation, but that suggestion was going too far.
- 52:28SPEAKER_18: So I thought I was gonna say all the songs are about prostitution.
- 52:32SPEAKER_03: What are you talking about?
- 52:34SPEAKER_03: I want to hold your hand for money.
- 52:37SPEAKER_03: Can't buy me love.
- 52:40SPEAKER_19: Eight days a week.
- 52:42SPEAKER_19: That was a different different album.
- 53:00SPEAKER_19: Listen to music like this with a pair of headphones.
- 53:17SPEAKER_04: Of course, Kane's version was Can't Buy Me Stuff.
- 53:20SPEAKER_19: Can't buy me stuff.
- 53:24SPEAKER_19: Alright, there you go.
- 53:25SPEAKER_19: There's your Hard Days Right Beatles song for the week.
- 53:28SPEAKER_19: Fantastic! Yeah, I have an album.
- 53:31SPEAKER_19: Alright.
- 53:31SPEAKER_19: So let the guessing begin.
- 53:34SPEAKER_19: Is it a band?
- 53:35SPEAKER_19: No.
- 53:36SPEAKER_03: Solo?
- 53:36SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 53:37SPEAKER_03: Man?
- 53:37SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 53:38SPEAKER_03: Solo man?
- 53:39SPEAKER_03: Solo man.
- 53:40SPEAKER_03: Solo man.
- 53:41SPEAKER_04: Solo manoman.
- 53:46SPEAKER_04: High of popularity.
- 54:29SPEAKER_19: He had an illness that he had a word of surprise.
- 55:26SPEAKER_19: Jimmy Buffett, yes.
- 55:27SPEAKER_19: That is true.
- 55:28SPEAKER_19: That is correct.
- 55:30SPEAKER_19: You are correct.
- 55:32SPEAKER_19: Yeah, so so uh Jimmy Buffett died of skin cancer.
- 55:36SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, that's right.
- 55:37SPEAKER_04: Actually wasn't a surprise.
- 55:38SPEAKER_19: It wasn't well, I mean it was it was, but it wasn't.
- 55:40SPEAKER_19: He he kept i the illness hidden pretty well, but you know, the guy is in his son all the time.
- 55:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, I mean that he basically made a career out of it.
- 55:49SPEAKER_19: Right, he did.
- 55:49SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 55:49SPEAKER_19: So this is the album though.
- 55:51SPEAKER_19: Um License to Chill.
- 55:55SPEAKER_19: And this is quote unquote a country album.
- 55:58SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 55:59SPEAKER_19: Uh, because he teams up every song has uh well not every song.
- 56:02SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, we've yeah, we've heard this one.
- 56:03SPEAKER_04: Have we done this one?
- 56:05SPEAKER_04: We may have.
- 56:07SPEAKER_04: Because we we've listened to a lot of songs off that album.
- 56:10SPEAKER_19: Yeah, I know that he because he does a Hyatt song on this album.
- 56:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 56:15SPEAKER_19: But did we did we do it for our Wall of Tunes?
- 56:18SPEAKER_04: I can't remember.
- 56:20SPEAKER_19: Anyway, um there are some songs on here that I you know what now that now that I say this, I do think we've done it.
- 56:28SPEAKER_04: I think we have.
- 56:28SPEAKER_19: Uh because this one right here.
- 56:32SPEAKER_19: Anything, anytime, anywhere.
- 56:34SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 56:35SPEAKER_09: Tomorrow may come.
- 56:42SPEAKER_08: It usually does.
- 56:47SPEAKER_08: Don't know what it brings to the two of us.
- 56:55SPEAKER_19: My my inner sleeve is gone.
- 56:58SPEAKER_19: It's missing.
- 56:59SPEAKER_19: I just want to You left it at some barrel.
- 57:05SPEAKER_03: Remember?
- 57:06SPEAKER_03: No.
- 57:07SPEAKER_03: We got pizza, and then you left it on the table, because we were reading lyrics.
- 57:15SPEAKER_19: I was just gonna see who wrote these songs.
- 57:18SPEAKER_19: Or you but I don't I don't have my liner notes in here, um, which is annoying to me.
- 57:26SPEAKER_19: And we have talked about this one.
- 57:28SPEAKER_19: It's a birthday song, Trip Around the Sun.
- 57:30SPEAKER_19: I love this song with Martin Martina McBride.
- 57:34SPEAKER_09: Here I'm singing happy birthday.
- 57:38SPEAKER_09: Better think about the witch up.
- 58:35SPEAKER_19: Great song.
- 58:36SPEAKER_19: Oh, I love this.
- 58:39SPEAKER_19: Also like this one.
- 58:42SPEAKER_19: You remember this?
- 58:43SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 58:45SPEAKER_03: Can't remember who does.
- 58:47SPEAKER_18: I think it's just him.
- 58:49SPEAKER_18: On this one, yeah.
- 58:50SPEAKER_09: When you find out things about yourself that you hadn't thought to know.
- 58:56SPEAKER_09: When your grandma calls and puts you on the Jerry Springer show, and you find out you and your wife for ten years just might be related.
- 59:06SPEAKER_09: Brother, life's not over, it's just complicated.
- 59:12SPEAKER_09: There's other situations that might challenge you, I guess.
- 59:17SPEAKER_09: When your daughter tries out for the football team and your son cries on her dress, and you start to think that the devil's in charge of how you're situated.
- 59:28SPEAKER_09: Life is still worth living, it's just simply complicated.
- 59:33SPEAKER_09: Life is complicated with me crazy, just don't let it dry.
- 59:45SPEAKER_19: So yeah, it's and that gets better too.
- 59:47SPEAKER_19: Uh one last one I'll play.
- 59:49SPEAKER_19: This is of course John Hyatt.
- 59:54SPEAKER_19: Window on the world.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_09: A broken promise.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_09: A crazy shit and a curtain prompt.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_04: Even when even when somebody else does a hyat spot, you can tell it's a hyat spawn.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_09: That's my window on the world.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_19: I would like to find out is that uh we get up in a foreign land.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_09: That's my window on the world.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_19: Oh, it is.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_19: That's Sunny Lander fucking talk.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_19: Yep, it is.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_09: Don't let mama the toaster.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_09: That's my window on the world.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_19: Anyway, I highly recommend that that uh that album.
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_19: It's you know, it's billed as a country album because he does have duets with Clint Black, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, George Strait, uh Martina McBride, um Nancy Griffith.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_19: He actually does one called uh does one with Bill Withers.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_19: Uh wow.
- 1:01:11SPEAKER_19: Playing the Loser again.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_19: Let me play a little bit of that, because that's a little different.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_19: But it's uh it sounds like Jimmy Buffett.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_09: I mean it'll break my heart again.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_19: You know, I mean, like they're country, it's country artists.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_19: Let it in, but it's all Jimmy Buffett.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_09: You don't love me.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_19: So this must have been uh recorded right before Bill Weather's past.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_19: Start again.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_19: I think this is two thousand four.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_09: Don't make me hope again knowing when you grow tired of me that you just disappear.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, cause Bill Withers died.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_04: Wait a minute.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_04: Bill Withers died twenty twenty.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_18: I thought he died long before that.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_10: Don't give me away.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_18: See, I'd like to tell you just singing with it.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_18: That sounds like Becca Bramlett.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_10: Don't kill me something.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_09: Just for three.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_14: You tear it all down.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_14: Don't make me dream again.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_14: Come on, Bill Withers.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_14: It's a sin to make love to me.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_19: He stopped he stopped making music a long time ago, though.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_19: He got he got out of the business long, long time ago.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_19: So maybe that's what confused me.
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_19: But anyway, license to chill, Jimmy Buffett.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_19: That is the album of the week, the uh Wall of Tunes.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_19: And that's it.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_19: Oh, wow!
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_04: Episode 217 in the books.

- 1:04:14SPEAKER_19: Maybe that's the name of the podcast.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_04: What happened to Sabaro's barrow's the pizza chain, known for selling pizza by the slice, has faced several challenges in recent years, including bankruptcy, declining mall traffic, and changing consumer tastes.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_04: Sabarrow filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection twice in 2013-2014.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_04: The company exited bankruptcy protection in 2014 after closing 182 locations and moving its low headquarters from New York City to Columbus, Ohio.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_18: So they're still around.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_04: Sabor is still in business, but has fewer locations than it once did.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_04: The company has made some changes, including rebanding, rebranding, remodeling restaurants, and updating its menu.
- 1:04:59SPEAKER_04: Sabor is also looking to expand into convenience stores, which it has been pushing harder into food service.

- 1:05:50SPEAKER_03: No!
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_04: Only for a price.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_19: We're gonna get a lawsuit from Sabaros.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_04: And they'll be like, hey.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_04: Actually, we're we're probably driving some business towards them.
