- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome back everyone. As you know, season two has premiered
- 0:09Speaker 1: and there's so much going on. Thankfully I have my
- 0:13Speaker 1: friend and co star on with me today, Janet, so
- 0:16Speaker 1: we can support each other through this madness. Yay, Hi,
- 0:20Speaker 1: how you doing it good?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Thanks for having me. I'm so excited me too.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I really wanted to have you first because I feel
- 0:26Speaker 1: like we've grown closest to each other totally.
- 0:29Speaker 2: We've had to survive together through the madness.
- 0:32Speaker 1: But did you ever think that?
- 0:34Speaker 2: Honestly, no, You and I, I feel like, are so
- 0:37Speaker 2: different in so many ways, like just with I don't
- 0:41Speaker 2: know how we live and we're I don't know. We're
- 0:43Speaker 2: very very opposite in so many ways. But I also
- 0:46Speaker 2: feel like we're so similar about like our core values,
- 0:49Speaker 2: you know what I mean. Like our lifestyles are very different,
- 0:52Speaker 2: Like I love junk food. You're like always eating like
- 0:54Speaker 2: salmon and broncoli and like stuff like that. But we together,
- 0:58Speaker 2: I feel like when it comes down to like the
- 1:00Speaker 2: really important stuff, I feel like we have a lot
- 1:02Speaker 2: in common.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I agree we're we have we're like black and white
- 1:05Speaker 1: to each other, or we call each other.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Out right one hundred percent. It's I feel like, there's
- 1:10Speaker 2: definitely been times I love that about you too. Is
- 1:12Speaker 2: that like if something's going on, if you're like I'm
- 1:14Speaker 2: gonna send a text and say this, I'm like, don't
- 1:16Speaker 2: do that, or it feels I'd be like a screech
- 1:18Speaker 2: out of something like Okay, you had me until you
- 1:20Speaker 2: said this, and like maybe you shouldn't have said this,
- 1:22Speaker 2: and vice versa. But like, yeah, I feel like we
- 1:24Speaker 2: do keep each other in check with things. But then
- 1:26Speaker 2: also like if I like there's times where I'm like,
- 1:29Speaker 2: oh my god, the only person who's gonna get how
- 1:30Speaker 2: annoying this is this, Michelle.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Yeah, we do talk to each other quite a bit.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're an early bird like me. We were
- 1:36Speaker 2: up this morning at like six in the morning texting
- 1:39Speaker 2: about stuff, and I'm like, you're the only other person
- 1:41Speaker 2: I feel like that's up like at the crack of dawn. Yeah,
- 1:44Speaker 2: mostly because Isabella is keeping you up at the crack
- 1:46Speaker 2: of dawn.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So who's the first person that you call when you
- 1:49Speaker 1: watch the episodes?
- 1:51Speaker 2: Probably you?
- 1:51Speaker 1: I think it's definitely you. I'm like, I need to
- 1:54Speaker 1: get your feedback. I would need to get your commentary, right, Like,
- 1:56Speaker 1: I actually like that about us.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and I Jason's good with that too. But normally,
- 2:01Speaker 2: I feel like we normally get stuff when it's like
- 2:03Speaker 2: the workday and he's like, i'll watch it later, and
- 2:05Speaker 2: I'm like I can't wait. I'm like I have to
- 2:07Speaker 2: watch everything right now. But Jason always gives me like
- 2:09Speaker 2: the reasonable like lawyer thing where I'm like, oh my gosh,
- 2:14Speaker 2: I can't believe this happened in life and like a
- 2:16Speaker 2: show in life. But I feel like he's always gives
- 2:18Speaker 2: me like he's like, no, it's not that big of
- 2:20Speaker 2: a deal, like calm, you know, he keeps me calm
- 2:23Speaker 2: with all of it.
- 2:24Speaker 1: He'd actually be a great person the text too. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:26Speaker 1: I might start texting.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Yeah, text him. He's great with stuff. He truly is brittany.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I feel like his text him a few times with
- 2:31Speaker 2: some things and he gives a very good, fair answer
- 2:35Speaker 2: most of the time to know.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah, tell me why did you move from Ohio to La?
- 2:40Speaker 1: What is that story?
- 2:41Speaker 2: It's funny. So I have an aunt and uncle who
- 2:44Speaker 2: live in La. My uncle's a writer. He's written a
- 2:47Speaker 2: bunch of like horror and paranormal. He wrote Paranormal Activity too.
- 2:51Speaker 2: He's written a bunch of cool, like horror scary movies
- 2:55Speaker 2: he did, like NYPD, Blue, Law and Order, Special Victims Unit,
- 2:59Speaker 2: all this stuff. When I was a kid. They don't
- 3:01Speaker 2: have kids, So when I was a kid, I would
- 3:02Speaker 2: come out here and they would take me to Disneyland,
- 3:05Speaker 2: to Universal Studios whatever, like Studio a lot my uncle
- 3:08Speaker 2: was working on at the time. He would have like
- 3:11Speaker 2: a professional tour where they would drive me around in
- 3:14Speaker 2: a golf cart and like show me all the sets
- 3:16Speaker 2: and all the stuff. So I would come out here
- 3:18Speaker 2: when I was a kid, and I was like, this
- 3:19Speaker 2: is so cool, and they would take me to all
- 3:21Speaker 2: the tour stuff. But then they would also take me
- 3:23Speaker 2: like to the farmer's market with them, and like to
- 3:25Speaker 2: cool restaurant like Little Doms and Los Felis is like
- 3:28Speaker 2: one of their favorites, and like you know, some of
- 3:31Speaker 2: those spots. So they took me to like all the
- 3:33Speaker 2: cool touristy stuff as a kid that you want to see,
- 3:35Speaker 2: like all the Universal and all that. But then also
- 3:37Speaker 2: like I kind of got an idea of what it's
- 3:39Speaker 2: really like to live here and like kind of seeing
- 3:41Speaker 2: like the culture of la in like you know, like
- 3:44Speaker 2: at the farmer's market, you kind of see everybody and
- 3:46Speaker 2: kind of how everybody eats here and things like that.
- 3:49Speaker 2: So I loved coming out here. When I was a kid.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I always got to bring like a friend for spring
- 3:53Speaker 2: break and we would, you know, ride our bikes around
- 3:55Speaker 2: Los Felis, and like, I just loved it. I loved
- 3:57Speaker 2: how warm it was, I loved the beach, and so
- 4:00Speaker 2: I always I felt like wanted to be here. But
- 4:03Speaker 2: I was born and raised in Ohio. I went to
- 4:05Speaker 2: college in Ohio. I got married right after college in
- 4:09Speaker 2: Ohio to somebody who also born and raised in Ohio,
- 4:12Speaker 2: so it never seemed kind of practical to actually move
- 4:15Speaker 2: out here. And I was always kind of like, I
- 4:17Speaker 2: don't know, scared or felt like, oh, I you know,
- 4:20Speaker 2: I can't move to Los Angeles. It's too expensive and
- 4:22Speaker 2: what would I do out there. And when I was
- 4:26Speaker 2: married back in Ohio, things you know, started kind of
- 4:30Speaker 2: falling apart. We got married when.
- 4:31Speaker 1: We were I was going to say, how old were you?
- 4:32Speaker 2: I think I was twenty three when I got married,
- 4:34Speaker 2: which I remember at the time thinking like in Ohio
- 4:37Speaker 2: everybody kind of gets married young, settles down, has kids young.
- 4:41Speaker 2: So I remember thinking, like, you know, that's just what
- 4:45Speaker 2: you do. It was just normal at that time. But
- 4:47Speaker 2: pretty soon after and he was maybe twenty six when
- 4:50Speaker 2: we got married, and so we were really young and
- 4:55Speaker 2: pretty quickly after. We were married for about four years
- 4:57Speaker 2: together for about four before we got married, and it
- 5:01Speaker 2: was I started realizing, like I was figuring out who
- 5:04Speaker 2: I was for the first time in my life and
- 5:06Speaker 2: figuring out who I wanted to be as an adult,
- 5:09Speaker 2: and we started drifting apart. There was obviously a lot
- 5:13Speaker 2: you know, you don't get divorced just because, absolutely for
- 5:16Speaker 2: no reason. So there was a lot of stuff. And
- 5:17Speaker 2: my ex husband is a very nice guy and we're
- 5:19Speaker 2: on very friendly terms now, you know, we wish each
- 5:22Speaker 2: other a happy birthday, or if I see something or
- 5:25Speaker 2: he sees something, you know, pop up about I don't know,
- 5:28Speaker 2: a mutual friend or something, will kind of lightly talk.
- 5:31Speaker 2: So you know, now I'm like, I wish him nothing
- 5:33Speaker 2: but the best. But we had a lot of issues
- 5:35Speaker 2: that A lot of it was like just that we
- 5:37Speaker 2: were married so young and didn't know what we were doing,
- 5:40Speaker 2: didn't know who we were, and so things started kind
- 5:42Speaker 2: of falling apart, and I was like, let's why don't
- 5:45Speaker 2: we try temporarily to move to California together. So we
- 5:48Speaker 2: came out here together in twenty seventeen.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't know this.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yeah, early twenty seventeen, we lived in an airbnb and
- 5:56Speaker 2: Silver Lake together. We drove across the country together with
- 5:59Speaker 2: our cats wow, and moved into a place in silver Lake.
- 6:04Speaker 2: And I think I was kind of hoping, like, oh,
- 6:07Speaker 2: if we get out of Columbus, Ohio, where we're from
- 6:11Speaker 2: and have like a new kind of fresh start, our
- 6:13Speaker 2: marriage will come back together. Because I had never wanted
- 6:15Speaker 2: to get divorced. That was never an option or something
- 6:18Speaker 2: that I thought of. But when we got out here,
- 6:21Speaker 2: it was kind of like, oh, it's the same problems
- 6:23Speaker 2: we're having, but we also don't have like the support
- 6:26Speaker 2: of our friends and family like we do back home.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Yeah, the problems don't go away. No, I learned that myself.
- 6:31Speaker 2: And I when we were here, I absolutely fell in
- 6:34Speaker 2: love with La all over again. I was like, this
- 6:36Speaker 2: is where I feel like in my heart I'm supposed
- 6:38Speaker 2: to be just you know. Especially silver Lake is such
- 6:41Speaker 2: a fun little area, like we would just walk around
- 6:44Speaker 2: all the time, and it kind of towards the end
- 6:46Speaker 2: of the time we were here, it was kind of
- 6:48Speaker 2: like he did his thing. I did my thing. And
- 6:52Speaker 2: when we were when it was time to go back,
- 6:54Speaker 2: I was like, I want to stay, Like, let's do this.
- 6:56Speaker 2: We were both kind of working remotely, so I was
- 6:58Speaker 2: like we can, like we can do this, Like we
- 7:01Speaker 2: can afford to live out here, we have the time,
- 7:04Speaker 2: and he wanted to be back in Ohio where he
- 7:07Speaker 2: felt comfortable.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Oh, he didn't like La.
- 7:09Speaker 2: He liked it, but he was like, we can visit
- 7:11Speaker 2: whenever we want, and I was like, I just want.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I also like the Ohio. It's not just that they
- 7:16Speaker 2: have winters. It's like for six months, it's like the
- 7:18Speaker 2: whole sky is gray, and it's just feels it feels like, honestly,
- 7:22Speaker 2: like the colors taken out of the world for a
- 7:24Speaker 2: little while.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah, some people don't mind that I could never live
- 7:27Speaker 1: in that no type of climate.
- 7:29Speaker 2: You've never lived in a cold place.
- 7:30Speaker 1: No, I'm a San Diego and La girl, So I've
- 7:33Speaker 1: always had this life, which I love.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and it really like it affects, like seasonal depression
- 7:38Speaker 2: is a very real thing. And I think it's because
- 7:39Speaker 2: like when you look around and all you see is
- 7:41Speaker 2: like cold and gray for months and months it's like
- 7:44Speaker 2: it affects you, you know, really strongly. So when we
- 7:47Speaker 2: got back, we moved out here, like I think it
- 7:49Speaker 2: was in right after Christmas. We drove across the country,
- 7:51Speaker 2: so we were here for like three months at the
- 7:53Speaker 2: beginning of the year when it was cold back in
- 7:55Speaker 2: Ohio and when we got back it was still cold,
- 7:58Speaker 2: and I remember being like, I, this is not for you. Yeah,
- 8:01Speaker 2: our marriage is crumbling, We're not happy, we're not in
- 8:05Speaker 2: love anymore. And I'm like, I just felt like this
- 8:09Speaker 2: is not I kept waking up and feeling like this
- 8:11Speaker 2: is not the life I want to wake up to.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Every day. I wanted to sleep all the time.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I just was like, this is my feeling too.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Happy, like and this is not especially like when you're young,
- 8:22Speaker 2: like you're It's like, this can't be the next eighty
- 8:25Speaker 2: years of my life. This can't. And you know, we
- 8:29Speaker 2: were in marriage counseling. We tried everything for a year before.
- 8:33Speaker 2: It was like a year of not good things happening.
- 8:37Speaker 2: And I take a lot of blame for that too.
- 8:39Speaker 2: My ex husband was you know, neither of us were perfect,
- 8:42Speaker 2: but he wasn't a bad guy. Like I really think
- 8:44Speaker 2: he's a good person deep down. And after a couple
- 8:48Speaker 2: months of being home and things were just horrible. We
- 8:51Speaker 2: were like staying separately, trying to kind of hide it
- 8:55Speaker 2: from our friends and family that think everything's okay, we're okay,
- 8:58Speaker 2: but people could start seeing the CS. I remember we
- 9:01Speaker 2: like accidentally butt dialed his mom once when we were
- 9:04Speaker 2: in the car screaming at each other about something, and
- 9:07Speaker 2: we were like very much like like not telling our
- 9:10Speaker 2: families anything that stuff was wrong. So I remember his
- 9:12Speaker 2: mom being like, what, like, what is going on? Like that,
- 9:16Speaker 2: I heard that whole fight, and this is like I
- 9:19Speaker 2: had no idea. You guys were struggling. And I remember
- 9:23Speaker 2: after a couple months, it was like starting to warm
- 9:25Speaker 2: up in Columbus and summer was around the corner. And
- 9:29Speaker 2: I went to my mom's house one day. And I
- 9:33Speaker 2: had been avoiding my mom because we're close. She can
- 9:36Speaker 2: read me, she knows when stuff's wrong. Yeah, So for
- 9:39Speaker 2: like a couple weeks before this, I was like not
- 9:41Speaker 2: answering her calls. She lived ten minutes away, I wasn't
- 9:45Speaker 2: seeing her, I wasn't letting her come to my house.
- 9:48Speaker 2: And finally I just had a full breakdown one day
- 9:51Speaker 2: and I showed up at my mom's house and I
- 9:52Speaker 2: had lost Like I mean, I was basically like fifteen
- 9:56Speaker 2: pounds thinner than I am.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Now when you're sad, you lose so much much weight.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I look at pictures of me from even two three
- 10:03Speaker 1: years ago. I was like, I was eating way more.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I wasn't doing that much anything different, and I just
- 10:09Speaker 1: naturally kept losing weight because I was unhappy.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Well, I think stress, you're just like always tense, like
- 10:14Speaker 2: it just it does like eat away at you. And
- 10:18Speaker 2: I remember I showed up at my mom's house and
- 10:20Speaker 2: she looked at me and she was like, why are
- 10:21Speaker 2: you so skinny? She was like, you look sick? Are
- 10:24Speaker 2: you sick? What's wrong? And I was like, can you
- 10:26Speaker 2: just listen for a second. I just started bawling and
- 10:28Speaker 2: I was like I'm not happy to do and she
- 10:31Speaker 2: could not get over how thin I looked, and like
- 10:33Speaker 2: she was like like she thought I was going to
- 10:35Speaker 2: tell her that like I was dying or something, because
- 10:38Speaker 2: she was just like, you look unwell and before she
- 10:42Speaker 2: let me tell her like what was going on. My
- 10:45Speaker 2: mom lives in like a historic part of our town,
- 10:47Speaker 2: so there's all these shops right around her house. So
- 10:50Speaker 2: like three doors down from my mom's house is a
- 10:52Speaker 2: church and a French restaurant. So my mom and my
- 10:54Speaker 2: mom is always at all these places. So she called
- 10:57Speaker 2: the owner of the French restaurant. She's like, can you
- 10:59Speaker 2: have somebody run down a piece of chocolate cake and
- 11:01Speaker 2: a pie? And like she she made me sit there.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I say, He's like, she matildaed me, you know, and
- 11:07Speaker 2: they tilda when they like make. She was like, eat
- 11:09Speaker 2: and then you can talk. And I'm mom did the
- 11:11Speaker 2: same thing. I was like, okay, And so I'm like
- 11:14Speaker 2: crying into this chocolate cake, just like it must have
- 11:17Speaker 2: been the most unattractive thing anybody's ever seen. But I'm
- 11:20Speaker 2: just like sobbing into this chocolate cake, just telling my mom,
- 11:23Speaker 2: like I've been hiding a lot from you, this is
- 11:26Speaker 2: what's been going on, And I mean, I just unloaded
- 11:29Speaker 2: on her. I was like, this is the truth, this
- 11:31Speaker 2: is what's been happening, this is why I need to
- 11:33Speaker 2: get away, this is why we tried to move to
- 11:35Speaker 2: La together. And I just told her everything, and I
- 11:39Speaker 2: was like, I think I need. I was like, we
- 11:40Speaker 2: keep trying to separate, but you know, he doesn't want
- 11:43Speaker 2: to actually rent a place here and like fully separate.
- 11:47Speaker 2: We had a three story house and so I was
- 11:48Speaker 2: staying in the upstairs bedroom. He was staying in our
- 11:51Speaker 2: main bedroom.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Leading the house. I know what that's like.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Not yeah, and it just wasn't. But we're still seeing
- 11:56Speaker 2: each other and we're still fighting and we're still I'm like,
- 11:58Speaker 2: I really need a break, and I feel like the
- 12:00Speaker 2: only way I will get a break is if I
- 12:02Speaker 2: go to California and actually put physical space between us.
- 12:07Speaker 2: So I still then My mom was like, you can
- 12:11Speaker 2: go for six months. She was like, but that's you
- 12:14Speaker 2: need to come back then and work on things. And
- 12:17Speaker 2: that was eight years ago. So I went. Right before
- 12:21Speaker 2: I had gone to my mom, I had flown out
- 12:23Speaker 2: here with my best friend Ali, who you've met, and
- 12:26Speaker 2: we went to LA and she helped me find an
- 12:28Speaker 2: apartment and I didn't tell anybody that I was doing that.
- 12:31Speaker 2: We came out, I think it was Memorial weekend and
- 12:34Speaker 2: we came out. I found an apartment to sublease. The
- 12:37Speaker 2: next day, I met Sheena at a pool party. She
- 12:40Speaker 2: was so nice to me and so welcoming and kind,
- 12:44Speaker 2: and she was like one of the only other people
- 12:45Speaker 2: that I knew who had gotten divorced, like in her
- 12:47Speaker 2: twenties or when she was young, and so we kind
- 12:50Speaker 2: of I was like, I'm it's interesting, like you can
- 12:53Speaker 2: tell like strangers kind of like the truth, but you
- 12:55Speaker 2: don't want to tell like your closest friends and family.
- 12:58Speaker 2: So like, I hadn't said the words like I'm getting
- 13:00Speaker 2: divorced to anybody other than my best friend Alli at
- 13:03Speaker 2: the time. So I told she, and I was like,
- 13:05Speaker 2: I'm getting divorced. I just signed a lease here. I
- 13:08Speaker 2: was like, I have to go home and pack and
- 13:09Speaker 2: tell my family and then I'm coming back out here,
- 13:12Speaker 2: and you know what advice And she gave me all
- 13:14Speaker 2: of this wonderful advice about like getting divorced and finding
- 13:17Speaker 2: yourself again and everything, and we had some other things
- 13:21Speaker 2: in common that were really random. So I remember I
- 13:23Speaker 2: left that pool party. I was like, Wow, what a
- 13:25Speaker 2: crazy experience. Because I knew her from vander Pomp. I
- 13:28Speaker 2: had been a Bravo fan for a long time before that,
- 13:31Speaker 2: and so I was like, that's so wild. I met
- 13:32Speaker 2: Sheena Shee and she gave me divorce advice, and I
- 13:35Speaker 2: remember thinking like I'll probably never see her again. And
- 13:37Speaker 2: when I moved back out here, she had followed me
- 13:40Speaker 2: on Instagram and she was like, you're here, like, let's
- 13:43Speaker 2: hang out. And my birthday was like the weekend after
- 13:48Speaker 2: I moved out here and I didn't really I knew
- 13:50Speaker 2: like three people out here. I had a couple friends.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Are you listening to yourself? What an incredible story.
- 13:56Speaker 2: It's wild. I mean I really think, like I believe
- 13:59Speaker 2: in the butterfly effect, like one moment of your life
- 14:02Speaker 2: can change everything. And I think back like if Allie
- 14:06Speaker 2: and I after we signed my sublease, we went to
- 14:09Speaker 2: a random bar for brunch and that bartender we were like,
- 14:13Speaker 2: where should we go? Is there like a pool we
- 14:15Speaker 2: could hang out at? And he was like, the Madria
- 14:17Speaker 2: has these epic pool parties. It's free. You can go,
- 14:20Speaker 2: like you don't have to know anybody. And I was like, okay, cool.
- 14:23Speaker 1: So we wandered at the Mandrin.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we wandered over there, and that Shina walks in
- 14:27Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh my god, that's that girl from
- 14:29Speaker 2: vander Pump And it's like, you know, I met Shina
- 14:32Speaker 2: that day just because a bartender suggested to us to
- 14:36Speaker 2: like go to this random pool. No, they were like,
- 14:40Speaker 2: go to the Madria And if you need a cool pool.
- 14:41Speaker 2: I got it. So we're sitting there, Shina walks in
- 14:43Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh my gosh, like that's crazy, and
- 14:46Speaker 2: we get to talking and it's like, if I wouldn't
- 14:48Speaker 2: have met Sheena that day, I have no idea what
- 14:50Speaker 2: my life would be like now. Like I always joke
- 14:52Speaker 2: that if I write a memoir one day, it'll be
- 14:54Speaker 2: called I owe my life to Shina. She because she
- 14:56Speaker 2: introduced me to Jason. I wouldn't have my baby if
- 14:59Speaker 2: it weren't for her, Like obviously I wouldn't have ended
- 15:01Speaker 2: up in the Bravo world.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I wouldn't have you. Oh, my friend, you took the
- 15:05Speaker 1: first step, I mean, the strength to move from state
- 15:09Speaker 1: to state at such a young age and tell yourself
- 15:13Speaker 1: and get that divorce like that was I can't even
- 15:16Speaker 1: imagine what you went through and how that's tough.
- 15:19Speaker 2: It was tough, and our divorce, I will say, was
- 15:21Speaker 2: the darkest time of my life. And we had a
- 15:23Speaker 2: pretty good divorce given like the circumstances, Like we did
- 15:27Speaker 2: a disillusion which is available in Ohio where you just
- 15:30Speaker 2: agree on everything together. You bring the paperwork to the
- 15:33Speaker 2: courts and they sign off on it and we had
- 15:36Speaker 2: one meeting basically with lawyers and a judge in an
- 15:40Speaker 2: office building, and that was it. And we really didn't
- 15:43Speaker 2: fight over a ton of things. Like my ex husband
- 15:46Speaker 2: does very well for himself, and he had started a
- 15:49Speaker 2: business while we were married, and so I didn't want
- 15:53Speaker 2: to touch his business. I didn't want a piece of it.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I didn't want him to have to like pay me out.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I didn't want him to have to close down his
- 16:02Speaker 2: business and like ruin any of his what he had created.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I was like, we split, we sold our house, split
- 16:07Speaker 2: whatever we made off of it evenly, and both walked away.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Like see, I think exactly like you, and I feel
- 16:13Speaker 1: like I'm the easiest person. I don't want anything. I
- 16:16Speaker 1: think everything that we have should be split fifty to
- 16:19Speaker 1: fifty and call it a day. It's like, it shouldn't
- 16:22Speaker 1: be that difficult.
- 16:24Speaker 2: It should be easy, but it should. When you get
- 16:26Speaker 2: emotions and egos involved, it just becomes something completely different.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Unfortunately for a lot of people.
- 16:32Speaker 1: I just saw a TikTok of this lawyer that I love,
- 16:35Speaker 1: and he was like one of the hardest things I
- 16:38Speaker 1: had to go through that took years. At the very end,
- 16:42Speaker 1: it was like everybody was ready to sign off, and
- 16:44Speaker 1: they fought over a toaster and that was the real
- 16:48Speaker 1: reason why they couldn't get divorced. And there was like
- 16:50Speaker 1: millions of dollars at stake and they wouldn't sign the
- 16:54Speaker 1: agreement because one party wanted a toaster. And I'm like,
- 16:57Speaker 1: that's how I feel, that's my is going.
- 17:00Speaker 2: It's when people want to stick it to the other
- 17:02Speaker 2: that really like gets it. And I feel like there's
- 17:05Speaker 2: a kind of couple different types of divorce. It's either
- 17:08Speaker 2: like an angry divorce or a sad divorce. And we
- 17:11Speaker 2: had a lot of anger, like in my divorce, so
- 17:14Speaker 2: not okay, like and like, but then our anger kind
- 17:19Speaker 2: of went away and we both were like sad about
- 17:21Speaker 2: it and kind of like after we went to the
- 17:24Speaker 2: like lawyer's office and signed our disilusion stuff, he was like,
- 17:28Speaker 2: you want to go get breakfast and I was like,
- 17:29Speaker 2: I actually would really liked that, and we sat at
- 17:31Speaker 2: breakfast together and we cried and we were like. He
- 17:34Speaker 2: was like, I wish you the best. I want you
- 17:35Speaker 2: to like fall in love again and find happiness, and
- 17:39Speaker 2: like I was like, you two like you know, and
- 17:41Speaker 2: he's in a happy relationship now as far as I know,
- 17:44Speaker 2: I think still, but it's like we got to a
- 17:48Speaker 2: point where we like put all the anger aside and
- 17:50Speaker 2: like just were able to like mourn the loss of
- 17:55Speaker 2: what was love at one point. And I think you'll
- 17:57Speaker 2: get there too. I know that there's still like.
- 17:59Speaker 1: A lot of I honestly have motions. Yeah, Like I'm
- 18:02Speaker 1: just mad at how I'm still treated at times, but
- 18:06Speaker 1: I'm also sad, like the whole situation is really sad,
- 18:09Speaker 1: and I feel sad for Isabella, like I don't want
- 18:12Speaker 1: her to see us like this. And there are a
- 18:16Speaker 1: lot of times that I still am very quiet about
- 18:19Speaker 1: a lot of things because I do think about Isabella,
- 18:22Speaker 1: like in the back of my mind. That is why
- 18:24Speaker 1: there are reasons why, like I am still private about
- 18:28Speaker 1: certain situations totally.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I mean I can tell I feel like whenever I'm
- 18:33Speaker 2: around you and Isabella, if she says something about her dad,
- 18:36Speaker 2: You're like, oh, that's nice, Like, oh, that's fun. You
- 18:38Speaker 2: had a good day with him, Like you guys did
- 18:40Speaker 2: what Oh my gosh, that sounds like, And I'm watching you,
- 18:43Speaker 2: and I'm like, she.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Has no idea how I truly feel about her dad,
- 18:47Speaker 1: but I make sure that she knows that, and sometimes
- 18:50Speaker 1: she'll ask me, She's like, do you love daddy. I'm like,
- 18:52Speaker 1: of course, I love daddy as a friend. Yeah, he
- 18:54Speaker 1: will always be my friend, right, That's all she needs
- 18:57Speaker 1: to know. She's five years old, there's nothing more.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah, And I really do. I know it's hard to
- 19:02Speaker 2: see now, but I really do feel like you guys
- 19:04Speaker 2: are going to get to a point where you can
- 19:08Speaker 2: be like in the same vicinity and it won't feel
- 19:12Speaker 2: like this, like weight and anger and stuff. Like, I
- 19:16Speaker 2: really do think you guys are going to get to
- 19:17Speaker 2: a place where it's a lot better.
- 19:19Speaker 1: And that's what people say. We're on year what too
- 19:23Speaker 1: already so.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Fresh, Like it takes it takes a lot of time.
- 19:25Speaker 2: It was a year or two of pain and depression
- 19:30Speaker 2: and anger and a lot of stuff when I was
- 19:32Speaker 2: getting divorced. And now, like whenever I see my excesson's
- 19:36Speaker 2: very private, but like whenever I see anything that kind
- 19:38Speaker 2: of pops up about him or you know, something successful
- 19:42Speaker 2: that's going on with his career or whatever, I'm like,
- 19:44Speaker 2: good for him. I'm like, and it truly makes me
- 19:47Speaker 2: happy inside for him, and like, you know, anything anything
- 19:51Speaker 2: in his world, I'm like, oh, that's great, and like
- 19:53Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't want him to, you know, have
- 19:55Speaker 2: his life or my life defined by our divorce. I
- 19:59Speaker 2: want us to be like whatever we grew from from
- 20:02Speaker 2: that and it's it was a horrible time for a
- 20:06Speaker 2: long time, but it does, it becomes this thing. I
- 20:09Speaker 2: think I saw La La talking about it recently where
- 20:12Speaker 2: you just like, one day your eyes will open and
- 20:15Speaker 2: you'll see it much differently.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I honestly hope so, and that is my dream, but
- 20:21Speaker 1: we'll see.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Saturday, we came over Jared and I came over and
- 20:30Speaker 2: got some pics of Isabella so much.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Coming over, I was like, I really want a group picture.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I don't have anybody to take it, and You're like,
- 20:38Speaker 1: I'll do it. I have a nice camera. Yeah. Perfect.
- 20:41Speaker 2: It was the first time I've used that camera in
- 20:42Speaker 2: like five years, so I was like, I actually need
- 20:44Speaker 2: to dust this thing off and charge it. So it
- 20:46Speaker 2: was a good excuse and those pictures came out so cute.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Isabella is so funny and sweet, like she's so goofy
- 20:52Speaker 2: every time we see each other, and she's like, hey,
- 20:53Speaker 2: poop poop button, and I'm like, hey, I'm trying to poop.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Her everybody at preschool right now is saying that. I'm like,
- 20:59Speaker 1: we don't say those words. And then you say it.
- 21:02Speaker 2: I'm like, hey, little poop poo butye, you're crazy. She
- 21:04Speaker 2: was like she tackled me when she saw me on
- 21:06Speaker 2: her birthday. I was like, dang, you're strong girl. She's
- 21:09Speaker 2: so sweet her. It was so sweet being a part
- 21:12Speaker 2: of that moment, getting to take some good pics and
- 21:14Speaker 2: she like, you ended up doing Disneyland for her, right, I.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Do it every year. I just think it's more intimate.
- 21:21Speaker 2: It was just the two of you.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Just yeah, us too. Jesse had her last year on
- 21:27Speaker 1: her actual birthday, so we switch off every year. So
- 21:29Speaker 1: this year was my year. He saw her the day
- 21:32Speaker 1: before and the day after, so April fifteenth, we went
- 21:36Speaker 1: to Disneyland Disneyland together and it was sweet because it
- 21:39Speaker 1: was like the first time I got to really experience
- 21:42Speaker 1: it in her eyes, like, oh, this is what it's
- 21:45Speaker 1: like for a five year old to meet a princess.
- 21:48Speaker 1: And I didn't. I couldn't make a reservation to get her.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Hair and princess experience. Yeah. I had never heard about
- 21:54Speaker 2: this until you said it. And I remember you being like,
- 21:56Speaker 2: who has a contact at Disney.
- 21:58Speaker 1: I got a guy I didn't know when she told me,
- 22:00Speaker 1: She's like, I really want to be a princess at Disneyland.
- 22:03Speaker 1: So I kept checking online. I couldn't make a reservation.
- 22:06Speaker 1: As soon as we walked in, I went straight to
- 22:08Speaker 1: the castle. I'm like, can you please take walk ins?
- 22:10Speaker 1: And they're like check an hour. We're completely booked for
- 22:13Speaker 1: the day. So I was just a crazy person going
- 22:16Speaker 1: every hour and I'm like, please, it's my daughter's birthday,
- 22:19Speaker 1: like anything. And finally, at like one o'clock, somebody's like
- 22:23Speaker 1: we can squeeze her in. I'm like, thank you, thank
- 22:25Speaker 1: you so much.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Mom thing you're such a good mom. But it's like
- 22:28Speaker 2: these moments that it's like, you know, what does a
- 22:30Speaker 2: good mom mean? And it's like it's the mom that's
- 22:32Speaker 2: running back to the Disney Castle every hour, pleading and
- 22:35Speaker 2: begging them to do my princess experience.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I think I did at least thirty thousand steps at Disneyland,
- 22:40Speaker 1: because we'd be at Toontown and then go to the castle,
- 22:42Speaker 1: and like wherever we went, I just kept going back.
- 22:44Speaker 1: So we got her in and she looked beautiful, oh gorgeous.
- 22:48Speaker 2: So they is it you buy the dress or do you?
- 22:51Speaker 1: So you shop and you pick out which princess you
- 22:53Speaker 1: want to be, and chased Bell. She was Bell so
- 22:57Speaker 1: cute and she was just and it was the first
- 22:59Speaker 1: time that there was zero tantrums and it was just
- 23:02Speaker 1: like she was an adult. It felt like a mini adult.
- 23:05Speaker 2: She like stepped into her crown. Yeah.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Absolutely, and then you sit down, you get your hair done,
- 23:10Speaker 1: you get a little nail polish, makeup if you want it,
- 23:15Speaker 1: and then you get to meet the princess. So when
- 23:17Speaker 1: she met the princess, they were like, happy birthday. What
- 23:21Speaker 1: would you like for your birthday? Oh?
- 23:23Speaker 2: What did she say?
- 23:25Speaker 1: She said, because her grandmother passed a couple months ago,
- 23:30Speaker 1: she kept telling everybody. She's like, I wish I could
- 23:32Speaker 1: have my grandmother back.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I know. I remember when she blew
- 23:36Speaker 2: out her candles and I didn't hear her at first,
- 23:38Speaker 2: but when she blew out her candles, I could cry too,
- 23:40Speaker 2: Like it was so sweet. And we were like, make
- 23:43Speaker 2: a wish, and she I think you said, what did
- 23:45Speaker 2: you wish for?
- 23:46Speaker 1: Her nickname is Malu.
- 23:48Speaker 2: That's what she was like, I wish Malou was back.
- 23:50Speaker 2: And I was like what did she say because I
- 23:52Speaker 2: didn't know the nickname.
- 23:53Speaker 1: And yeah, she really caught sweet. She really caught me
- 23:56Speaker 1: off guard because it's like she can ask for any
- 23:59Speaker 1: present or anything, and like her mind went into like
- 24:02Speaker 1: I want my grandmother back, and I was just like
- 24:05Speaker 1: holding my tears and smiling.
- 24:07Speaker 2: But that's she goes to show, like how like great
- 24:10Speaker 2: of a kid you're raising, because she could have been
- 24:12Speaker 2: like I want this toy, I want the princess experience.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I want, you know, just about anything, but she has
- 24:18Speaker 2: like the sentimental heart, like big sweetheart. She's like a
- 24:22Speaker 2: rough and tough girl. Like on the outside, I feel
- 24:24Speaker 2: like like she like likes to climb and like.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Yeah, she's very like tomboy but also likes gurly things.
- 24:30Speaker 1: But she's so sweet, very sweet, very strong. Like she
- 24:34Speaker 1: acts way older than her age.
- 24:37Speaker 2: And I think it's great too that you talk about
- 24:39Speaker 2: your mom with her and like show her pictures and
- 24:41Speaker 2: just remind her so that she keeps that like feeling
- 24:44Speaker 2: that she had with her alive, you know, throughout her life.
- 24:48Speaker 2: And if you, I feel like if you always kind
- 24:49Speaker 2: of you know, show happy memories and here's a picture
- 24:53Speaker 2: of you guys and all of that she'll always like
- 24:55Speaker 2: carry that with her and that's like, yeah, a really
- 24:57Speaker 2: beautiful special thing.
- 24:58Speaker 1: And she surprises me. She he has a very good
- 25:00Speaker 1: memory yet such a young age, and she's like, I
- 25:03Speaker 1: remember we'll just walk by a street and she's like, oh,
- 25:05Speaker 1: I remember smelling the roses with my grandmother and yeah,
- 25:09Speaker 1: they were really close.
- 25:11Speaker 2: It's so sweet. That's so sweet. I mean, you should
- 25:13Speaker 2: be proud of yourself and proud of her that she's
- 25:16Speaker 2: just such a sweet, warm hearted little girl. Like that's
- 25:19Speaker 2: just really amazing.
- 25:21Speaker 1: And I know, I don't know if you want to
- 25:24Speaker 1: talk about it, but I know that you also had
- 25:27Speaker 1: a parent, your dad pass away.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it's such a tough and strange part of life
- 25:33Speaker 2: losing a parent. And I guess you always think like, oh,
- 25:36Speaker 2: I'm going to be like seventy years old when you know,
- 25:40Speaker 2: when I lose one of my parents, and when it
- 25:43Speaker 2: happens any sooner than that, it just feels like just
- 25:47Speaker 2: this tragic, crazy thing that it's like you know me
- 25:52Speaker 2: and now, and it's like it's just too soon. My
- 25:57Speaker 2: dad passed away. My dad was my dad and I
- 25:59Speaker 2: had a complicated relationship for many years, but we had
- 26:03Speaker 2: periods where we didn't talk at all, but before he
- 26:07Speaker 2: for a while before he passed, we were in a
- 26:09Speaker 2: good place and just checked in every once in a while,
- 26:14Speaker 2: not every day, but we would kind of had a
- 26:18Speaker 2: good boundary but a good relationship at that point. But
- 26:23Speaker 2: he was in poor health. He had had some ongoing
- 26:26Speaker 2: illnesses and sicknesses and things over the years, and then
- 26:31Speaker 2: he got COVID in November of twenty twenty and died
- 26:36Speaker 2: from that with other complications of his like ongoing health problems.
- 26:41Speaker 2: But it was it was so sudden and sad, like
- 26:46Speaker 2: it's you know, My last text from my dad was
- 26:48Speaker 2: like a day or two before and he had said
- 26:51Speaker 2: something and I wrote something quick back, but I didn't
- 26:55Speaker 2: answer like what he had actually asked me. And I
- 26:57Speaker 2: remember being like, oh, this is this is the last
- 27:01Speaker 2: message I'm going to have with him, and like that's
- 27:03Speaker 2: always hard to look at. That was like one of
- 27:05Speaker 2: the hardest things to get through is like, Wow, if
- 27:08Speaker 2: I go to text my dad, that's the last thing
- 27:11Speaker 2: that's there, Like how do I live with this? And
- 27:15Speaker 2: I remember I was at work and my uncle called me,
- 27:20Speaker 2: who my dad's brother, who I hadn't talked to in
- 27:24Speaker 2: a couple years and I was like, something's not right
- 27:27Speaker 2: if he's calling me. And I had an amazing boss
- 27:30Speaker 2: at the time, and I was at her house and
- 27:32Speaker 2: I was like, hey, something's my family keeps calling me.
- 27:36Speaker 2: You mind if I step away or and she's like,
- 27:38Speaker 2: we're pretty much done, you can just head home. And
- 27:40Speaker 2: I remember I called my mom, got in the car,
- 27:43Speaker 2: and my parents had been divorced for twenty something years
- 27:45Speaker 2: before this, but I called my mom and I said, hey,
- 27:48Speaker 2: Uncle Joe called me and left me a message saying
- 27:51Speaker 2: to call him back and it's important. And I was like,
- 27:54Speaker 2: I feel like Dad's dead. And I was like, I
- 27:58Speaker 2: have a twenty minute drive home right now. I was like,
- 28:01Speaker 2: can you please call him for me? And if Dad's dead,
- 28:05Speaker 2: don't call me back, and I'm just going to get
- 28:10Speaker 2: my brain was just like get home, get home, get home.
- 28:13Speaker 2: And I called Jason and told him the same thing.
- 28:16Speaker 2: I was like, I'm really nervous. He was working from
- 28:18Speaker 2: home at the time, thank god. And when I got
- 28:20Speaker 2: all I put my phone down and I was like,
- 28:22Speaker 2: I'm just going to drive home because if I know,
- 28:24Speaker 2: if I'm looking and I see that they're not calling,
- 28:26Speaker 2: I'm gonna know and if I if they do call,
- 28:30Speaker 2: like I was just like I just drive home and
- 28:32Speaker 2: I in silence, drove all the way back to US Hollywood,
- 28:36Speaker 2: and when I pulled in, Jason came outside and like
- 28:40Speaker 2: got me out of the car and I was like,
- 28:42Speaker 2: is he dead? And he was like, yeah, your mom
- 28:44Speaker 2: just called. I was like oh, and I just like
- 28:46Speaker 2: collapsed into his arms and I was just like I
- 28:50Speaker 2: didn't know. I didn't know what to do. I was
- 28:53Speaker 2: just like it was it's just this like overwhelmingly like shock.
- 28:57Speaker 2: It's like no, that's that can't be happening because that's
- 29:00Speaker 2: permanent and that's I'm like, this isn't how this happens.
- 29:04Speaker 2: This And I just was like going through all of
- 29:07Speaker 2: the emotions of like denial and anger and all of it,
- 29:10Speaker 2: and it will say like the one thing that the
- 29:15Speaker 2: one silver lining from that was Jason was so supportive
- 29:20Speaker 2: and just I can't even explain how wonderful he was
- 29:25Speaker 2: at that time, Like he fed me. He I'm like
- 29:28Speaker 2: the person who books all of our travel and makes
- 29:31Speaker 2: all the plans and he you know, he shows up
- 29:33Speaker 2: and that, but like this he's like I found four flights.
- 29:36Speaker 2: I think you should wait like a day or two
- 29:38Speaker 2: before you go home. And this is like prime COVID time,
- 29:41Speaker 2: when like we weren't traveling, we were masking everywhere we went.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Like I'm like I can't even believe I have to
- 29:47Speaker 2: get on a plane. And he's like, we're going to
- 29:50Speaker 2: go home together. I mean, he just like took the reins.
- 29:53Speaker 1: And made it care of you.
- 29:54Speaker 2: And it's I will always like that. That time was
- 29:58Speaker 2: the time that I was like, I'm this is my person, Like,
- 30:01Speaker 2: this is the man I'm supposed to be with. Because
- 30:03Speaker 2: in the good moments we have all this fun, but
- 30:05Speaker 2: in the bad moments, it's not so bad or it's
- 30:08Speaker 2: not as bad as it could be. Because I'm like
- 30:10Speaker 2: I need to look at this. He's like, I already
- 30:11Speaker 2: took care of it. I already got this. I talked
- 30:14Speaker 2: to your mom. You're gonna like. He's like, don't worry
- 30:16Speaker 2: about anything. When people were like what can we send whatever?
- 30:19Speaker 2: I was like I don't and he would be like,
- 30:21Speaker 2: she hasn't eat today, sent her this, she wants this
- 30:23Speaker 2: like and he just he made it so easy, and
- 30:26Speaker 2: I was like, this is a good man. This is
- 30:29Speaker 2: the person I'm supposed to be with. He just he
- 30:32Speaker 2: fully took care of.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Everything, especially when somebody passes, like you really, cause some
- 30:38Speaker 1: people don't. Like it just depends on who you are,
- 30:40Speaker 1: if you're going to be supportive, if you're going to
- 30:42Speaker 1: be there for somebody. And I found that with Aaron too,
- 30:45Speaker 1: Like he took really good care of me when my
- 30:48Speaker 1: mom passed. And I feel like one of the reasons
- 30:51Speaker 1: I'm also really close to you is because you took
- 30:54Speaker 1: care of me and I was not, like I never
- 30:58Speaker 1: asked for help even if I'm struggling and I need help,
- 31:01Speaker 1: Like I will not call anybody, like I will always
- 31:04Speaker 1: figure it out on my own. And you that morning,
- 31:08Speaker 1: I had to take care of Isabella all day and
- 31:11Speaker 1: I got a delivery from you and sheina, and I
- 31:13Speaker 1: was like, oh my god, I have all this food,
- 31:15Speaker 1: and just to not think about just basic things after
- 31:19Speaker 1: a passing is crazy.
- 31:22Speaker 2: It's a weird kind of club to be in. I
- 31:25Speaker 2: talked to Arion about this. She calls it the dead
- 31:27Speaker 2: dad club, and you kind of have to find some
- 31:30Speaker 2: sort of humor in it, but it's it's this weird
- 31:34Speaker 2: bond that you have with people who have also lost
- 31:36Speaker 2: a parent, and you kind of know what to do
- 31:40Speaker 2: and in that time, I know you. And that was
- 31:43Speaker 2: another thing. Aaron. I reached out to him and I
- 31:45Speaker 2: was like, Hey, we're going to send I was going
- 31:46Speaker 2: to send food. Can you send me? And He's like this, this, this, this,
- 31:49Speaker 2: He knew everything that you would like everything.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I was like, how does she know exactly what I
- 31:53Speaker 1: eat and what I like?
- 31:54Speaker 2: And he was like and he's like, I'll cook this
- 31:56Speaker 2: and this for her. And I was like, great, so
- 31:57Speaker 2: I'll order like steak, I'll make sure she has the
- 31:59Speaker 2: salads stuff she likes and like all the easy stuff
- 32:02Speaker 2: just so you didn't have to think about it. And
- 32:03Speaker 2: he's like, and I'll take care of like cooking and
- 32:06Speaker 2: organizing everything. So that so I was like I saw
- 32:08Speaker 2: him stepping up for you big time too. He was
- 32:10Speaker 2: like behind the scenes, checking in with all of us
- 32:13Speaker 2: and like, you know, I'm like, I don't want to
- 32:15Speaker 2: bug her every thirty minutes, so I'll bug Aaron And
- 32:18Speaker 2: he was like then he just started sending like sheen
- 32:20Speaker 2: and I updates of like she's doing good today, like
- 32:23Speaker 2: you know this and this. This is the first day
- 32:25Speaker 2: without Isabella, which I think she's relieved to have some
- 32:28Speaker 2: downtime where she can actually like cry and stuff, but
- 32:30Speaker 2: also like she's like I think Isabella was a comfort
- 32:33Speaker 2: the last couple of days too, and so there was
- 32:36Speaker 2: a lot of that. But I feel like Aaron at
- 32:39Speaker 2: two behind, I was like, this is a good, good guy.
- 32:42Speaker 1: And I really grew close to certain people after my
- 32:46Speaker 1: mom's passing. I mean, you came to the funeral in
- 32:49Speaker 1: San Diego, Brittany came. I know, who texts me who
- 32:54Speaker 1: didn't like it? Just showed me like who's really there
- 32:57Speaker 1: for me and like cares about me?
- 32:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean honestly, I for me. Like I feel
- 33:02Speaker 2: like our friendship grew so much during that time. Like
- 33:06Speaker 2: it was so lovely, like to meet your siblings and
- 33:09Speaker 2: your family and like just sit in that church for
- 33:12Speaker 2: a little while and like I remember us just like
- 33:14Speaker 2: holding hands and you crying and like just cry, like
- 33:17Speaker 2: just you know, like don't feel like you have to
- 33:20Speaker 2: wipe your tears and hold it all in, like let
- 33:23Speaker 2: it out, let all the feelings out.
- 33:24Speaker 1: And I think that was the first time you saw
- 33:26Speaker 1: me let it out.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and I was happy you did. Like
- 33:30Speaker 2: it's like this is the time to grieve, this is
- 33:32Speaker 2: the time to be sad, Like it's okay to be
- 33:36Speaker 2: It's okay to let yourself feel all the emotions, because
- 33:39Speaker 2: if you don't, it's difficult. One of the most difficult
- 33:42Speaker 2: parts of that for me was like, because it was COVID,
- 33:45Speaker 2: we couldn't have like a celebration of life or a
- 33:48Speaker 2: funeral for my dad, So we cremated him and we
- 33:52Speaker 2: had like it was it was Thanksgiving weekend too, which
- 33:56Speaker 2: now always just will remind me of my favorite holiday.
- 34:00Speaker 2: But whoa, I feel like that was like a sign. Yeah,
- 34:05Speaker 2: very interesting the lights.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Our parents.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it was an interesting thing though, not being able
- 34:14Speaker 2: to really like have that service. And it was Thanksgiving time,
- 34:17Speaker 2: so we just kind of all got together as a family.
- 34:20Speaker 2: We had like an outdoor Thanksgiving because nobody wanted to
- 34:23Speaker 2: get sick, and we were so unsure of a lot
- 34:25Speaker 2: of things. But we you know, we didn't have this
- 34:29Speaker 2: like big closure moment that you get, I feel like
- 34:32Speaker 2: from having a funeral or some sort of you know,
- 34:37Speaker 2: some sort of gathering, and so that was difficult and
- 34:41Speaker 2: something kind of I still like, I'm like, should I
- 34:44Speaker 2: now have some sort of thing for him after years
- 34:47Speaker 2: and years? But you know, I've come to peace with it,
- 34:50Speaker 2: and you know, I don't think there's any perfect way to.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Walk the cemetery, and she picked her spot, and it
- 34:56Speaker 1: was just a crazy moment to think, like this is
- 34:59Speaker 1: going to happen soon and I'm not going to have
- 35:01Speaker 1: my mom anymore. So I think, no matter how you
- 35:03Speaker 1: look at it, it's just there's no easy way.
- 35:06Speaker 2: It is a beautiful thing. And I will say it
- 35:08Speaker 2: also made me realize like it's important to have your
- 35:12Speaker 2: plan of what you want to happen and like write
- 35:15Speaker 2: it out, like it was like when I was pregnant Jason,
- 35:18Speaker 2: I made like our life insurance policies, wills like all
- 35:21Speaker 2: that stuff, because it's like I don't want you know,
- 35:23Speaker 2: there was a lot of times where like I questioned,
- 35:27Speaker 2: is this Like I was like, did Dad want to
- 35:29Speaker 2: be buried or cremated? I don't even I was like
- 35:31Speaker 2: I don't know. But at the time it was like,
- 35:34Speaker 2: I guess we go with cremated because we don't have
- 35:37Speaker 2: any of the other information or I didn't know where
- 35:41Speaker 2: and what to do. And so it's one of those things.
- 35:43Speaker 2: I think it's so beautiful that your mom got to say,
- 35:45Speaker 2: like this is where I want to be because you
- 35:47Speaker 2: don't have to question like did we pick the right one?
- 35:49Speaker 2: Are you sure she wouldn't want to be on the
- 35:51Speaker 2: sunny side of the hill instead of the wind, Like
- 35:53Speaker 2: you know.
- 35:54Speaker 1: It was a rare opportunity, I guess, and most people
- 35:57Speaker 1: I know, a couple of my friends also had to
- 35:59Speaker 1: do with your situation. They're like, I have no idea
- 36:02Speaker 1: what to do. I don't know what they wanted.
- 36:04Speaker 2: So my dad didn't have a will or write down
- 36:07Speaker 2: any wishes. Like I remember getting into arguments with my
- 36:10Speaker 2: siblings about it, and you know, being like somebody was like,
- 36:15Speaker 2: I'm sure he wanted it this way, and Noah, he
- 36:17Speaker 2: said this, And I'm like, well, when did he tell
- 36:19Speaker 2: you this thing? Which which one was more recent? What's
- 36:22Speaker 2: And it's like not a fun thing to go through,
- 36:25Speaker 2: and when you're there's it's never good anyway. I feel like,
- 36:28Speaker 2: you know, I know the pain and stress you had
- 36:30Speaker 2: for the last year and a half before your mom passed,
- 36:33Speaker 2: and the worry and all that. So it's like having
- 36:36Speaker 2: it happen sudden sucks, and having it happen not sudden sucks.
- 36:40Speaker 2: It's just none of.
- 36:42Speaker 1: It's if there's never a right time, and that's why
- 36:45Speaker 1: I'm still angry because I'm like my mom had a
- 36:48Speaker 1: young spirit, Like I felt like I had so many
- 36:50Speaker 1: more years with her, and I feel like a part
- 36:53Speaker 1: of me feels like it wasn't her time.
- 36:55Speaker 2: And there's still days where like my dad, he's a
- 36:58Speaker 2: carpenter and he built houses, businesses, all this stuff, so
- 37:01Speaker 2: he was really handy, and anytime still now I'll be like, oh,
- 37:05Speaker 2: I wonder how I should call my and I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 37:08Speaker 2: I can't call him.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Like that happens to me at least once a day,
- 37:12Speaker 1: and I'm like, when is that going to stop? I
- 37:14Speaker 1: wish I could say like I watched the first episode,
- 37:17Speaker 1: or I see something on Instagram and I immediately want
- 37:20Speaker 1: to send it to my mom and I have to
- 37:21Speaker 1: stop myself. I'm like, Okay, I can't do that anymore.
- 37:25Speaker 2: And it's crazy. I actually, and maybe this is a
- 37:27Speaker 2: crazy thing, but I have texted my dad's old number.
- 37:31Speaker 2: I have his phone, so it's kind of crazy too.
- 37:33Speaker 2: I'm like texting the phone that's in a box in
- 37:35Speaker 2: my closet. But there's times where I text him and
- 37:39Speaker 2: say like I miss you today, I'm thinking about.
- 37:41Speaker 1: You today, or that's great. There being yeah, that's really great.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Sometimes you just have to. As soon as I send it,
- 37:47Speaker 2: I'm like okay, and I'm like, somewhere he's I talk
- 37:51Speaker 2: out loud.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Yeah, when like I really miss her, I'm like, you
- 37:54Speaker 1: probably can hear me, and I sound like a crazy person,
- 37:56Speaker 1: but I start talking.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and just saying it out loud or putting it
- 37:59Speaker 2: in that mess. Sometimes it does feel like I'm like,
- 38:01Speaker 2: all right, somewhere in the universe, this is going to
- 38:03Speaker 2: get to them. And how was it for you? Like
- 38:07Speaker 2: I remember, like, you know, my ex husband was so
- 38:10Speaker 2: supportive when my dad died too. He sent flowers. He
- 38:13Speaker 2: was really nice, and you know, even though we were divorced, Like,
- 38:19Speaker 2: did Jesse reach out to you when your mom passed?
- 38:21Speaker 2: And how was that experience for you?
- 38:24Speaker 1: What was My mom and Jesse had a very interesting
- 38:27Speaker 1: relationship because my mom always felt that Jesse was always
- 38:31Speaker 1: rude to her and never like proper. I actually had
- 38:35Speaker 1: to teach Jesse how to greet my mother when she
- 38:38Speaker 1: would come in when she would come in, because he
- 38:41Speaker 1: wouldn't like get up and say hello or give her
- 38:44Speaker 1: a hug. He would like be on his phone, like
- 38:47Speaker 1: pretend she's not there and I'm like, get up, say hello,
- 38:50Speaker 1: and then it would make my mom feel uncomfortable and
- 38:53Speaker 1: she would stay with us for a couple of days. Yeah,
- 38:56Speaker 1: this is true story. This happened all the time. And
- 38:58Speaker 1: I literally had to teach him like, my mom comes in,
- 39:00Speaker 1: please stop what you're doing, say hello and give her
- 39:03Speaker 1: a hug, and you can go back to what you're doing, and.
- 39:06Speaker 2: So should be a given.
- 39:08Speaker 1: It's a given. The little things. I actually felt like
- 39:10Speaker 1: I taught him a lot as a person of like
- 39:12Speaker 1: what to do and what not to do. He was
- 39:14Speaker 1: just always so rude to people, and my family always
- 39:18Speaker 1: felt that with Jesse, So that was just kind of
- 39:22Speaker 1: the dynamic of their relationship. But when my mom passed
- 39:26Speaker 1: that morning, I had Isabella and she actually facetimed Jesse
- 39:32Speaker 1: and I'm like, let your dad know, So she said,
- 39:35Speaker 1: Grandma went to heaven. So he actually texts me something
- 39:40Speaker 1: very nice and it's like, I'm so sorry about your loss.
- 39:43Speaker 1: If there's anything you need, please let me know. And
- 39:47Speaker 1: that was actually my day with Isabella. And so about
- 39:50Speaker 1: an hour later I called him and I said, I
- 39:53Speaker 1: don't think I can take care of Isabella today. Can
- 39:55Speaker 1: you please take her and he's like, oh, I'm sorry,
- 39:59Speaker 1: I'm already on my way to oh see, I have
- 40:02Speaker 1: something going on. And I think he felt really bad
- 40:07Speaker 1: or people told him something, because hours later he's like, Hey,
- 40:10Speaker 1: why don't I get a nanny for you? So that
- 40:14Speaker 1: was the first time that he offered y. Yeah, so
- 40:18Speaker 1: I was mad, but at the same time like he
- 40:20Speaker 1: did something nice for me.
- 40:22Speaker 2: It's a tough, tough thing, but well, here we are.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Here we are, and I'm so grateful for you and
- 40:29Speaker 2: the friendship. And you know, it is like a weird
- 40:31Speaker 2: silver lining that you have in a bond with somebody
- 40:34Speaker 2: when you go through something as traumatic as losing a
- 40:37Speaker 2: parent together, and it's it's a thing I remember like afterwards,
- 40:41Speaker 2: you know, when my dad died, it was like Logan
- 40:43Speaker 2: and Arianna both had gone through that, and and Dana too,
- 40:46Speaker 2: and it was like they gave me all of the
- 40:49Speaker 2: words of wisdom and support and you know, when I
- 40:52Speaker 2: had bad days, I would be like, can I show
- 40:54Speaker 2: you like this old message I found with my dad,
- 40:56Speaker 2: and Logan especially was like absolutely, and would you know
- 40:59Speaker 2: cry with me?
- 41:00Speaker 1: And yeah, we really, like you just said it perfectly.
- 41:03Speaker 1: We're in that club.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a weird, fucked up club to be in,
- 41:07Speaker 2: and I don't wish. I don't want any new members ever,
- 41:10Speaker 2: but if you unfortunately end up in the club, you
- 41:13Speaker 2: do have good company and support from people who have
- 41:16Speaker 2: been through it and understand what it's like.
- 41:19Speaker 1: And there's great books out there, and I'm actually reading
- 41:22Speaker 1: one right now about signs, and I believe a lot
- 41:25Speaker 1: in that and that they are there and they can
- 41:28Speaker 1: give you signs and I've had that happen a few times.
- 41:33Speaker 2: So it's nice to, yeah, have those sort of moments.
- 41:36Speaker 2: I remember my dad when I was little, was like
- 41:38Speaker 2: when I'm gone one day, like you'll know, you'll feel me,
- 41:41Speaker 2: You'll see this, and Ei there is there's stuff every
- 41:44Speaker 2: day that I feel like reminds me of him or
- 41:47Speaker 2: makes me feel like he's present. Those lights going off
- 41:49Speaker 2: just a little bit ago, I'm like, hey, to head, thanks,
- 41:51Speaker 2: thanks for giving me a little nod today.
- 41:54Speaker 1: So we watched the first episode. What did you think
- 41:58Speaker 1: of me introducing Aaron?
- 42:00Speaker 2: I love seeing Aaron. I mean, I've known him now
- 42:03Speaker 2: for a little while and I think he's just like
- 42:05Speaker 2: the sweetest guy in the entire world and he's so fun.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Like we've done a couple double dates, and it's been
- 42:10Speaker 2: fun when we have like things to shoot or do,
- 42:13Speaker 2: and like we went and got like pizza and martinis
- 42:15Speaker 2: and like yeah after when we're all dressed up, like
- 42:18Speaker 2: I think actually you and I were in like full
- 42:19Speaker 2: glam but then sweatpants because that's what we wore like
- 42:22Speaker 2: two set for whatever promo thing we were shooting that day.
- 42:26Speaker 2: And I don't know, I love Aaron, Like I just
- 42:29Speaker 2: think he's such a good guy. You seem so much happier,
- 42:32Speaker 2: Like it's so nice. Also, like watching things back, I
- 42:36Speaker 2: feel like from a year ago you just seemed sad
- 42:39Speaker 2: and anxious a lot. Yeah, and then now it's just
- 42:42Speaker 2: like I feel like I'm seeing like the light, like
- 42:44Speaker 2: airy happy Michelle.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Well, when I introduce him and I'm looking at myself,
- 42:50Speaker 1: I was like, oh, that's the smile everyone's talking about.
- 42:52Speaker 1: I see it now.
- 42:54Speaker 2: It's really sweet to see. Yeah, how is it like
- 42:56Speaker 2: reliving everything with him now? And like obviously you know
- 43:01Speaker 2: we're going to be watching everything back, and.
- 43:03Speaker 1: I get very anxious because I know things that were
- 43:07Speaker 1: said and done, and so you know, we hold hands
- 43:11Speaker 1: and we're like, okay, we're in this together. Will be Okay,
- 43:14Speaker 1: we survived it. We're going to survive this and just
- 43:17Speaker 1: keep looking forward. So he's very positive in it all.
- 43:21Speaker 1: He tries to limit himself in a lot of ways.
- 43:24Speaker 1: He just was there to support me, be around. He's like,
- 43:28Speaker 1: you're filming. I want to be with you, Like I'm
- 43:30Speaker 1: not going to be home. So that's why we decided
- 43:33Speaker 1: to do it together.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's great. I mean, he has a
- 43:35Speaker 2: very successful career outside of it, and like I don't
- 43:39Speaker 2: think there's a whole lot of that, like in our
- 43:42Speaker 2: group of friends, like Jason's kind of one of the
- 43:44Speaker 2: only ones that has like a career that has nothing
- 43:46Speaker 2: to do with entertainment and that's completely separate from everything.
- 43:50Speaker 2: So it's a it is like a fine line I
- 43:52Speaker 2: think to walk of, like how much to kind of
- 43:54Speaker 2: jump in or not. But I think Aaron's done a
- 43:56Speaker 2: really great job of it. Like he's at all the
- 43:58Speaker 2: things he would normally be at, whether there's cameras there
- 44:01Speaker 2: or not. It's like, of course he's going to come
- 44:02Speaker 2: to my birthday party. Of course he's going to come
- 44:04Speaker 2: to this and that and whatever else. So I think
- 44:07Speaker 2: he's done a really good job like jumping into the
- 44:09Speaker 2: group and supporting you and.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and he never imagined doing any of this either.
- 44:15Speaker 1: I mean he's in finance and he works all day
- 44:17Speaker 1: long and he's like I never thought that I would
- 44:21Speaker 1: join you or so, like he's brand new to it now.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Now we have a season under our belt, so you
- 44:28Speaker 1: do learn a lot throughout the process. And I'm kind
- 44:31Speaker 1: of excited for people to see like my happy side
- 44:34Speaker 1: with him.
- 44:34Speaker 2: I'm excited to see you happy. I mean I see
- 44:36Speaker 2: it in you know, real life all the time, but
- 44:38Speaker 2: I'm excited to see moments of that and for everybody
- 44:40Speaker 2: else to see it too, because it is like, you
- 44:42Speaker 2: guys have a really beautiful relationship, like at you know,
- 44:45Speaker 2: coming over for Isabella's cake, Like just seeing how he
- 44:47Speaker 2: is with Isabella too is so sweet, Like he's silly
- 44:50Speaker 2: with her and like, yeah, you know, I remember you
- 44:52Speaker 2: saying that morning like he woke up at six the morning,
- 44:54Speaker 2: is like riding bikes with her in the driveway or
- 44:56Speaker 2: like oh.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Yeah, because they're both early birds and they're just playing
- 45:00Speaker 1: soccer outside. It's like, oh my god, you guys. Yeah,
- 45:03Speaker 1: so they also have a very special dynamic and you
- 45:06Speaker 1: get to see a little bit of that which I love.
- 45:09Speaker 2: I love how he's just like fully jumped in and
- 45:11Speaker 2: like accepted both of you into his life. It was
- 45:14Speaker 2: also awesome to see his house, Like he has an
- 45:17Speaker 2: amazing house. I love like those West Hollywood places, they
- 45:21Speaker 2: have so much like history and coolness. But I love Erin.
- 45:24Speaker 2: I think he's a great, great guy. I think you
- 45:26Speaker 2: guys are such a perfect match. And the most thing
- 45:29Speaker 2: I like about him most is like how happy you
- 45:31Speaker 2: are and like and how happy Isabella is.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 45:34Speaker 3: Yeah, well, why don't we play a little game Since
- 45:43Speaker 3: I was you know, we talk.
- 45:44Speaker 1: About grief and and everything. I feel like you love
- 45:49Speaker 1: to laugh at me all the time because I don't
- 45:52Speaker 1: know certain foods.
- 45:53Speaker 2: You're like you are so naive about the funniest, most
- 45:56Speaker 2: random things. And I do feel like there's so many
- 45:59Speaker 2: things were like I'm like, oh, like like oh my
- 46:03Speaker 2: gender reveal. I'm biting into a corn dog and you're
- 46:05Speaker 2: like what you're biting into a corn dog for? And
- 46:08Speaker 2: it's just like I'm like, I love when you like
- 46:10Speaker 2: look at me like that. You're like you're doing what.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I'm like, I've never heard such a thing who bites
- 46:15Speaker 1: into a corn dog?
- 46:17Speaker 2: Why I out what their baby is. So I made
- 46:19Speaker 2: a list of some fun like basically like my like
- 46:23Speaker 2: Hillbilly roots, a little bit of stuff that I love
- 46:26Speaker 2: that I wonder if you've tried or know about and
- 46:29Speaker 2: if you have, like when or how often you've you've
- 46:32Speaker 2: done these things? Have you ever eaten a funnel cake?
- 46:36Speaker 1: No? Wait, tell me exactly what that is?
- 46:38Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, at like at Disney or at like
- 46:41Speaker 2: a theme park or a fair. It's like the dough
- 46:45Speaker 2: that they fry and then they put powdered chilgar on
- 46:47Speaker 2: top of it. Absolutely not, you have to have a
- 46:49Speaker 2: funnel cake.
- 46:50Speaker 1: I had a truro at Disneyland.
- 46:52Speaker 2: It's kind of it's a similar vibe as a truro
- 46:54Speaker 2: in that it's like dough. It does some of them
- 46:56Speaker 2: have cinnamon sugar maybe on them, but it's mostly powdered
- 46:58Speaker 2: sugar and it's like a square glee.
- 47:00Speaker 3: No.
- 47:01Speaker 1: I had fall of fried dough.
- 47:02Speaker 2: That's so funny. I thought that was the one on
- 47:04Speaker 2: this list that I was like, she probably has. When
- 47:07Speaker 2: was the last time you've beaten at McDonald's ever?
- 47:11Speaker 1: Uh? I think when I was in college. I had
- 47:14Speaker 1: McDonald's when I was like twenty one.
- 47:16Speaker 2: What about Panda Express?
- 47:18Speaker 1: I actually had a bite at La LA's Love pandas. Yeah,
- 47:22Speaker 1: she she had La La. I mean she had Ocean's
- 47:25Speaker 1: birthday party and she had Panda Express and I was like,
- 47:27Speaker 1: let me try it. And I actually thought the orange
- 47:29Speaker 1: chicken was very cool. Okay, good?
- 47:31Speaker 2: What about Burger King?
- 47:32Speaker 1: Never Arby's Never?
- 47:34Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, you missed it out. Those are like
- 47:37Speaker 2: my faves. Do you know what the Warped Tour is?
- 47:41Speaker 1: No, I'm dead. I'm dead.
- 47:44Speaker 2: It's like a punk rock concert tour that's like it's
- 47:48Speaker 2: kind of like Coachella, but for like emo bands.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Definitely don't know.
- 47:51Speaker 2: It was like when we grew up. It was like
- 47:53Speaker 2: when I was fourteen, I was like, Warped Tour. Have
- 47:57Speaker 2: you ever had a deep Fried Oreo? No? They're like
- 48:02Speaker 2: also at like fairs and things like this is it good?
- 48:05Speaker 2: It's they're kind of weird. Actually that one, I'll give
- 48:07Speaker 2: you a pass on. So it's like, have you ever
- 48:09Speaker 2: been to a county fair?
- 48:11Speaker 1: Yes? Last last year we went? Was it a year ago? No?
- 48:15Speaker 1: I went with Jackson Brittany.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Oh, I remember, like a couple of years ago we allow,
- 48:20Speaker 2: but I was invited I've been to a fair. Okay.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Have you been camping?
- 48:27Speaker 1: I don't think so. I thought this was food only.
- 48:31Speaker 2: No, it's other stuff too. Okay. Have you ever been
- 48:33Speaker 2: in or slept in a mobile home and not like
- 48:36Speaker 2: a tour bus, but like a mobile home? Actually I have,
- 48:39Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, Okay, yeah, I like that.
- 48:41Speaker 1: My dad lived in a little mobile home park community.
- 48:45Speaker 2: So I'm proud of you. Okay, I love that. Have
- 48:48Speaker 2: you ever been to a strip club?
- 48:51Speaker 1: Yes? I have in London. Wow, that was a good time.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Okay, I love that for you. Have you ever swam
- 48:57Speaker 2: in an above ground swimming pool?
- 49:00Speaker 1: Above ground, like.
- 49:01Speaker 2: The ones that are like like plastic, that like.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Like the ones in Mexico.
- 49:08Speaker 2: I don't you have to climb a ladder? It's like
- 49:10Speaker 2: the ground then the pool sitting on top. You have
- 49:11Speaker 2: to climb a ladder to get in the pool.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Oh no, definitely not.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Have you ever eaten at a buffet?
- 49:18Speaker 1: Yes, I've been to soup Plantation years ago.
- 49:21Speaker 2: I don't know if that counts.
- 49:22Speaker 1: That's a buffet that totally is.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Okay, all right, I'll give you that. Have you ever
- 49:27Speaker 2: milked a cow?
- 49:28Speaker 1: Nope, not yet, but I drink raw milk.
- 49:31Speaker 2: I know Aaron loves the raw milk. Have you ever
- 49:34Speaker 2: shopped at a thrift store?
- 49:37Speaker 1: No, I want to say, yeah.
- 49:40Speaker 2: Have you ever been in Forever twenty one?
- 49:41Speaker 1: Yes? Okay, okay, teenage years okay, sure.
- 49:45Speaker 2: Have you ever had to pull over and pee on
- 49:47Speaker 2: the side of the road.
- 49:48Speaker 1: Never, I mean I need to go to the bathroom
- 49:51Speaker 1: and I hold it till I get to a restaurom
- 49:53Speaker 1: so funny.
- 49:54Speaker 2: Have you ever had gushers or fruit roll ups?
- 49:57Speaker 1: I've had fruit roll ups when I was a child.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Didn't I give you a gusher when we were.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you said have one, and I'm like, I'm good,
- 50:03Speaker 1: You're like, just have one.
- 50:04Speaker 2: At the after show, they we had a whole.
- 50:06Speaker 1: I don't know if I had one. Oh no, I
- 50:08Speaker 1: ended up having the Annie's Organic Creganics.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that's already okay. When I was making this list
- 50:14Speaker 2: last night, too, Jason was like he was dying at
- 50:16Speaker 2: all of these and he thought it was so funny.
- 50:18Speaker 2: And he was like, okay, since Michelle has a lot
- 50:20Speaker 2: of blind spots to a lot of this stuff. Who
- 50:22Speaker 2: were her crushes growing up, like in the nineties, Like,
- 50:25Speaker 2: did you like have a crush on like Jonathan Taylor Thomas,
- 50:28Speaker 2: Like who were the people like or like, were you
- 50:30Speaker 2: a Britney Spears fan growing up? Like what was pop
- 50:33Speaker 2: culture to you when you were like thirteen?
- 50:36Speaker 1: I mean I was the biggest Spice Girls fan you
- 50:39Speaker 1: could ever imagine. I went to there there, I went
- 50:42Speaker 1: to their concert. That was my first concert, first concert too.
- 50:45Speaker 1: I had everything Spice Girl, yeah, and I thought I
- 50:47Speaker 1: was sporty Spice.
- 50:48Speaker 2: I love that you would be sporty Spice Yeah. Okay,
- 50:51Speaker 2: all right? That Nikes. Who was like your childhood crush?
- 50:54Speaker 1: Who was my first crush?
- 50:57Speaker 2: Like, I feel like Jonathan Taylor Thomas was mine from
- 51:00Speaker 2: no that what was that show called Tim the Toolman Taylor?
- 51:04Speaker 2: That show but tool Time Home Improvement? That was oh yeah,
- 51:08Speaker 2: no that was He was always on like teen Beat
- 51:11Speaker 2: and like seventeen Magazine and like all those I remember
- 51:14Speaker 2: being like madly in love with him when I was little.
- 51:16Speaker 1: I'm trying to think because I wasn't boy crazy for
- 51:19Speaker 1: a long long time, and I was very like a
- 51:22Speaker 1: lot of people don't know this about me, but I
- 51:24Speaker 1: was trying to be an Olympic athlete. I was a
- 51:28Speaker 1: gymnast and so I trained five to six days a week,
- 51:32Speaker 1: for five hours a day, so like I really like
- 51:35Speaker 1: I got home eight, went to the gym, came home
- 51:38Speaker 1: eight and went to sleep. And that was my life
- 51:40Speaker 1: for like ten years.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Because you can still do what I had to do,
- 51:43Speaker 2: like a backflip or something, or.
- 51:45Speaker 1: I can still do like a round off layout.
- 51:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think we were when we were in
- 51:48Speaker 2: Santa Barbara. I was like, can you still do this?
- 51:50Speaker 2: And we had like a big lawn and you did
- 51:52Speaker 2: did some.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Sort of Yeah, you did some sort of like I
- 51:55Speaker 1: think I just did a round off.
- 51:56Speaker 2: Maybe like some sort of back handspring or something. You
- 51:58Speaker 2: did something and I was like, damn, you still.
- 51:59Speaker 1: Got Yeah, I'll do it here and there.
- 52:01Speaker 2: It's fun.
- 52:03Speaker 1: I'm trying to think crush. I can't think of anybody.
- 52:05Speaker 2: We're also a Backstreet, Poison and Sink fan, and so
- 52:08Speaker 2: probably like justin Timberlake for yeah, one.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Of those justin for sure.
- 52:13Speaker 2: That's so funny.
- 52:14Speaker 1: That feels like ages ago. Oh yeah, I just I
- 52:17Speaker 1: was thinking about foods. I want to know if you've
- 52:21Speaker 1: tried that are my favorites? Okay, avocado toasts with truffle
- 52:24Speaker 1: oil and edible flowers.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Okay, I've had avocado toasts and I love truffle oil,
- 52:30Speaker 2: but I've never had them all together but separately.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's really good. Yeah. Every time I go
- 52:35Speaker 1: to Paris, I always have to have escargo.
- 52:38Speaker 2: I've never had it, but Jason ordered it. What's like
- 52:41Speaker 2: the famous there's like a hotel restaurant that everyone goes
- 52:44Speaker 2: from Paris. It's like Hotel day something.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Like when we went to Paris, Jason like that was
- 52:51Speaker 2: like the one place. He was like, we have to
- 52:52Speaker 2: make a reservation here and he got escar goo there
- 52:55Speaker 2: and I you.
- 52:56Speaker 1: Couldn't try it, but there's so much garlic and butter
- 52:59Speaker 1: in the snails you don't even.
- 53:01Speaker 2: I dipped bread in the sauce and ate that, so
- 53:03Speaker 2: I got like a little of the flavor, but I
- 53:05Speaker 2: just that little tool and like shucking it out of
- 53:09Speaker 2: the shell. I was like, I can't do that.
- 53:10Speaker 1: That's the only thing I eat when I'm in Paris
- 53:12Speaker 1: every meal, every day as cargo. Wow, because you can't
- 53:16Speaker 1: eat it here.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that's so funny.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Sushi with Toro and uni.
- 53:22Speaker 2: I don't even know what to or uni are, and
- 53:25Speaker 2: all of the sushi I eat, Jason, I call it
- 53:27Speaker 2: bullshit sushi.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Oh, I hate bullshit.
- 53:30Speaker 2: He'll eat like he'll get sugarfish when I'm like, if
- 53:32Speaker 2: I'm like out doing something for dinner and it's just
- 53:34Speaker 2: him and the baby alone, he'll get sugarfish and get
- 53:36Speaker 2: like all of the raw stuff my face. Ideal sushi
- 53:40Speaker 2: roll would be like deep fried with cream cheese, avocado,
- 53:44Speaker 2: sweet potato, wrapped with rice, and I.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Just like, I just like sashimi the fish by itself,
- 53:51Speaker 1: with the chiso leave and ponzu. I could never if
- 53:54Speaker 1: it were up to me, that would be my diet
- 53:56Speaker 1: every day, just like. That's that's how much I like it.
- 53:59Speaker 1: It's really good. A Persian dish my favorite. It's called
- 54:03Speaker 1: gormets SAPSI.
- 54:04Speaker 2: What is it.
- 54:06Speaker 1: It's a stew, a green stew with a bunch of vegetables,
- 54:10Speaker 1: and it has a sour like team to it because
- 54:13Speaker 1: it has dry lemons. Okay, it's the best.
- 54:16Speaker 2: That sounds zay. I like stews. I like veggies. Let's
- 54:20Speaker 2: make it sometime.
- 54:21Speaker 1: It's so, I heard it's really hard, but yeah, I'll
- 54:23Speaker 1: give you the instructions and I'll pretend to help you.
- 54:26Speaker 2: I love making like other foods from other parts of
- 54:29Speaker 2: the world. And when actually, when Jason and I were
- 54:31Speaker 2: in we went to Scotland with Ariana like a couple
- 54:35Speaker 2: of years ago, and we fell in love with Dushume,
- 54:37Speaker 2: which is this Indian restaurant there, and I bought the
- 54:40Speaker 2: cookbook and have been making like Indian recipes from their
- 54:43Speaker 2: cookbook back home. And so I love finding like recipes
- 54:46Speaker 2: from different parts of the world and then trying to recreate.
- 54:48Speaker 1: You're impressive with your cookie. I try, Yeah, I try.
- 54:51Speaker 1: And last one, my favorite miso glazed black cod from Nobu,
- 54:56Speaker 1: I actually have had that.
- 54:58Speaker 2: It's really Nobo's like one of the places says that
- 55:00Speaker 2: I will like be a little more adventurous and like
- 55:02Speaker 2: try some raw stuff and when it's that fresh. Like
- 55:05Speaker 2: Jason and I did are one on one baby moon,
- 55:09Speaker 2: not one that everyone else was invited on a couple
- 55:13Speaker 2: months before, and we went to Nobu Cabu Cabo Hotel
- 55:16Speaker 2: and we stayed there and literally we ate like kings
- 55:20Speaker 2: like every night. It was like all the fresh stuff
- 55:22Speaker 2: from Nobu, So I will have I have had that,
- 55:24Speaker 2: and I will eat like more adventurous and no when
- 55:28Speaker 2: I met Nobu.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Okay, let's have a no boo bait okay, let's have
- 55:31Speaker 1: a no boot. Let's have a no boot date.
- 55:33Speaker 2: I'm down. I'm down.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Well, thank you so much for coming on, Thanks for
- 55:37Speaker 1: having me.
- 55:37Speaker 2: This is so fun.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Let's talk after the next episode.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Yes, all right, I can't wait.
- 55:43Speaker 1: Bye bye
