The U.S. Department of Labor just awarded The Children’s Cabinet a massive $1.8 million grant to expand Washoe YouthBuild — the fourth time they’ve received federal funding to help at-risk youth aged 16-24 earn their diplomas and jumpstart careers in high-demand skilled trades. This program gives second chances to kids who dropped out or were involved with the justice system, offering both education and real-world training to break cycles and build brighter futures for 80 young adults in Reno-Sparks.
