- Speedcafe Team: Yeah. This week on Full Credit to the Noise, it's in Euro time when we preview the AirTouch Ben 500. Lance Stroll creates a new record. And the other Kimmy puts on a clinic in Italy. Welcome to Full Credit to the Noise. Well hello, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and welcome to full credit to the noise. You can find this podcast on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook at FCTTN Podcast. You can find me on Instagram, Twitter, Blue Sky, and Facebook at Former underscore legend. You can find the work across me on Twitter at AVL underscore motorsport. He's on Instagram at AVL.motorsport. He's a man who this week appeared on the red carpet of the Venice Film Festival alongside Sidney Sweeney. He's booked a month off work on the day that Grand Theft Auto Six is set to be released, and tonight he's wearing a Bunnings apron. Welcome to Speed Cafe's Andrew Van Lourdes. Thank you, Former. You know, I've never played Grand Theft Auto in my whole life. ⁓ yeah. It's no good. You get too involved. Yeah. Yeah. You lose Weezy your life there. Yeah. And ⁓ what school s staff room are you doing this podcast from? I'm in the network R offices in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, which is almost as nice as Venice, I would imagine. But it's ⁓ not as nice as Sydney Sweeney, am I right? Obviously. ⁓ obviously Network are being the ⁓ the producers of this podcast. ⁓ and close allies of Spee Cafe. So I'm actually with our former producer Grant Rowley right now. He's listening in as we record this. Ask him the twelve hour story about when we got through the gates. Yeah, I will. I will. We've got lots of good twelve hour stories to be perfectly honest. Grant and I don't worry about that. Now listen, did you have a look at the world time attack on the weekend? It was a pretty good ⁓ online streaming broadcast if nothing else. I didn't see much of it, but I think I saw the highlights on the stuff that was making headlines. Mate, that crash at Andrew Price ⁓ in his Sylvia on Friday afternoon. If you haven't seen it, he just enters turn two like he's asleep at the wheel. I'm sure he wasn't, but that's what it looked like to me. And I've never seen a car end up where he ended up on ⁓ Friday afternoon. Full noise, turn two. into the tire barrier and launched high up into the air and landed on the other side of the barrier. ABL. That is that was something. I don't want this to sound mean or anything. I'm absolutely no time attack expert. Maybe these cars are the safest things on earth, but it does always feel a little bit sketchy. Like thousands of horsepower and some sort of homemade arrow and it just it just I don't find it massively surprising that there were some pretty big potatoes there on the weekend. But ⁓ thankfully Doesn't seem that anyone was too badly injured, which is ⁓ Roll cages made out of downpipes and monkey bars, but yeah. Yeah and then later that night ⁓ there was broadcast footage that showed Hertek or Hurt Eugene Junior of Hoonigan fame slide through the grass before hitting the leading edge of a concrete wall. So in drifting apparently, this is news to me by the way, it's not uncommon to drift in the opposite direction during exhibition runs, but obviously not during competition. I was watching that going, Where the hell's that? Where the wall sort of sticks out like that until I realise he was running the opposite way. Why would that be possible? I don't I don't know. These are all the wonderful questions around world time attack that I have no answers to at all. And a friend of those playing at home, Toddy Hazelwood won the Way ⁓ rain shortened World Time Attack Challenge. You know, one minute nineteen aboard the Sylvia. He reckons there was a better time in it, but he didn't get the opportunity 'cause it did rain on Saturday night. So well done to Todd. Nice warm up. In I don't know, is it? A good warm up to the bend. Not sure. Yeah, once they get to Bathis if they don't saw that barometric pressure out with the engines on the ⁓ on the Ford Mustangs, it might feel a bit underwhelming after driving that thing. Changing the radio station halfway up mountain straight. All right, let's go to the shift cut and we'll talk about the Italian Grand Prix. ⁓ Yeah, and the Grand Prix came from Monza last night and it came at a rush, but it started on qualifying. Now if you'd have told me Pierre Gasly was going to get pole on Saturday AVL, I'd assume you were going to tell me it was also going to rain. It was one of those chaotic qualifying sessions, but it was clean, it was dry, and Pierre Gasly beat the Hall monitor to claim a w an absolute stunning first ever F one pole position. ⁓ he pipped the pre-qualifying favourite George Russell by just over point ⁓ six of a second ⁓ the same track he sealed his memorable Maiden Victory in twenty twenty. Toto Wolf blamed Max Verstappen for costing ⁓ Mercedes Pole. He said, Yeah, I think at the end where we got done over was by Max in the final run when launching into the lap. Russell, however, said he started the final lap too close to Verstappen. He said everything was all all looking good ⁓ heading into Parabolica, but Max was just slammed on the brakes and didn't want to be the lead car. Oscar Piastri was handed a three place grid penalty in qualifying after being found to have impeded at Liam Lawson. ⁓ he started from six. Lawson went to the back of the grid for an engine change ⁓ with Kimmy Antonelli. Also at the back of the grid. I had to I actually turned the coverage on on Saturday night, seen the first cars leave Pitts, and then seen the walkthrough of Pitts ⁓ by Sky F one reporters and nothing in between that because I had a good snooze over yell, so And then when I seen when I seen Gasly on, I'm like, nah, something's happened here. So yeah, crazy. Yep. Yep. No, it was I guess Monza is always one of those, from a qualifying perspective, just one of those ⁓ weird tracks where everyone's trying to get a toe, there's a massive benefit in the toe, like there's a big advantage in it, but then you can trip over yourself trying to get a toe, and it kind of just does have that potential to throw up a surprise result, and that was definitely one of them. Mercedes might be the power plant to have. Just just putting it out there. You can you can dig deeper into that. ⁓ let's talk about the Grand Prix. And somehow Kenny Kimmy Antonelli won from nineteenth, which was just the second time in eleven hundred and sixty two Grand Prix that that's happened. He claimed to be seventh win of the season to extend his lead in the drivers title race. Teammate George Russell is now sixty six points behind after running second. He did start from second on the grid, it should be said. Kimmy also did the fastest lap on the last lap, which is always must be horrifying as an engineer to see those sort of numbers being ticked over in the sectors. Max put in a really good drive, I thought, for third. Lando made our final lap overtake on Oscar Piastri to take fourth, and Lewis was sixth on a day where his teammate crashed and brought out a red flag on lap three. And that was after him and Lewis came together at and put Lewis into the sand trap at turn one. Gasly finished s ⁓ seventh. He couldn't convert the pole, which is not ⁓ entirely surprising. George Russell today has all but conceded that the Formula One World Championship might be out of his reach because of what happened yesterday. He said, Look, yeah, I know. Definitely Kimmy's in control of now. He said, I'm not even thinking about a fight or a comeback or anything. I'm just focused on taking it race by race and trying to maximise every single weekend. Russell put a lot of F of the result on ⁓ Mercedes splitting their strategies, pitting Kimmy, but leaving the Hall monitor out after every car got a free tie change during the red flag stoppage. When he was coming and at one stage he put himself into the sand trap at turn one AVI I thought, No, n all this for this. Yeah. But then just found his legs again and went. Obviously there's a tire offset which was great, but it was a hell of a drive. It was an amazing race from Kimmy Antonelli. Yes, there were some strategic freedoms that were afforded to him with the grid penalty, to be honest. It was one of those very rare cases where starting at the back became an advantage because you wouldn't put a car starting on the front row on hard tires to start the race. But you would roll that dice on a car starting to the back, which they did. Then you've got the red flag, and then he could run that medium to medium strategy. And in fairness to George Russell, I actually thought after the race, his comments around the fact like he he kind of didn't have a whinge about the fact that the strategy didn't fall his way. I think he fully understood that it was just one of those odd races where starting on the last row of the grid was somehow better than starting on on the front row of the grid in the way that it played out. But for all the things that did go Antonelli's way, it was just such a hugely resilient and impressive drive. Like he didn't drop his head when he did end up off the road when he was battling George. He played the team game and held position when they were asked to by the team to build that gap over Max. And the day before he helped George in qualifying doing the same thing. Yeah. And then he put the car that was under him to the best possible use to win the race. And that's That's a pretty impressive thing. It was the first what, the first Italian since the fifties or something like that to to win the Italian Grand Prix, which I hadn't heard that. Yeah nine thousand f times. And I think that if we weren't in this way of thinking already, I think it was the clearest sign yet of just the star power that this kid does have. ⁓ my God. Like George Russell is a very, very capable Grand Prix driver, right? Like he he is. But We're starting to see these signs that Kimmy is that next level. Like he's better than capable. He's he might and it's probably too early to say right now, but he might end up being one of those difference maker drivers, like a Lewis, like a Max, like the guys that really just have another level in them compared to your kind of very capable Grand Prix drivers like George Russell. So I I feel like that's what we kind of saw on s on Sunday night. Yeah, it's Tell me what you made of Charles's crash, because I've got to be honest, he said the lap before he felt something weird on that corner and then hit the same spot and went off. He's just got one in him, hasn't he? I guess so, but I mean it's just I don't know, there's there's so much going on with the difficulties around driving these cars and the amount of inputs required and all that sort of stuff. Like it's it's a difficult thing and it should be. Like that's not it's your bad thing. Like that like Grand Prix cars should be incredibly hard to drive, but Yeah, it was a big shunt and like what a horrible day for Ferrari. Like they just have these days where nothing goes right for them. And that's the one stage where they want everything to go right. And ⁓ there's home fans, at least they got something out of the day because they weren't getting much out of out of Ferrari. ⁓ so at least they've got their hero now because we just constantly see Ferrari incapable of executing these races to to a point where they can actually contend for world championships. Like it's just It's so predictable the way it goes every year. If you were building a Grand Prix team right now and you had a competitive car and every driver was available to you, is he your first bloke signed or does he still go on somewhere like Max first? Charles? Yeah. No, as in sorry, Kimmy, I should say. ⁓ Kimmy. no, you still take Max. Yeah. We need to see a bit wider body of work from Kimmy to put him in that ⁓ to put him in that bracket. But I think we're seeing a lot now. Like we are really getting to the point where you start to go, all right. He is that. It just felt like one of those races where you could just tell. Again, I and I'm not I'm not just ripping on George for the I know we tease him and all that sort of stuff, and it's all good fun. He's obviously a good Grand Prix driver, but I think that Kimmy is a is better than good. Yeah, that that's I think that's w the way this thing is trending. And at some point we'll sit back and be like, Yeah, of course George Russell couldn't beat him to the world championship because He's won a lot of titles because he is something special, you know. So again, there's a lot of water to go under, a lot of bridges before we're anywhere near having that conversation. But if if Sunday night wasn't the kind of first insight, or not the first insight, sorry, the the most concrete insight into his potential that we've seen, then that like, yeah, that's that's kind of where we're sitting now, I think. Yeah. Crazily, the day before Gasley stuck it on pole, he had his third place at Monaco taken from him in the Court of Appeal. And that led to team boss Flavio Briattori and McLaren's mac Andre Stella engaging in extraordinary war of words at ⁓ in the press conference at Monza. Pierre Gasly was obviously stripped, and then Briattori has ex accepted the ruling. I love these accepted the ruling, but but questioned the independence of one member of the four-person panel, alleging Judge Filippo Marchino had connections with McLaren. He said, I think it's very unfair. We accept the decision. But what is very strange was there were four judges on the panel and one of the judges acted like a prosecutor. It was four judges and this one was really a prosecutor against the FAA, against us, and against FOM. Afterwards we found out what the reason is why this guy was so nasty. It's very linked I could should do this in a Donald Trump voice. It's very linked with McLaren. We have a nice picture of this guy giving a speech from McLaren in twenty eighteen at MSO Beverly Hills. Here's a foundation, it's called One Drop Foundation. McLaren gave two or three McLaren cars ⁓ to them which was quite unfair. Andre Stella was sitting next to him and kind of tried to steer it off co off topic and say, you know, and then all of a sudden he's gone, nah, I'm digging in here, and he said, I find that this conference is going in a direction that's quite insulting for McLaren for the reputation of our team that deserves a lot of respect. And if anybody makes these kinds of allegations which seem quite serious, they're going to have to take the responsibility for what they're saying in a public forum. The FIA International Court of Appeal rejected those suggestions from Flavio that one of the judges involved in Alpine's Monaco Grand Prix case was not impartial. Preetori suggesting cheating is like Johnny Besto trying to run someone out with an underarm return from a delivery like Alex Carey did AVL. ⁓ actually, happened on the weekend as well. So mate, white hot. White hot. Yeah, it is. It's a ⁓ it's it was apparently ⁓ I've heard from a few people that were in the room, it was quite unexpected to Stella when Briatore went down that path with the whole thing and it brought the press conference to life. Let's ⁓ let's put it that way. But look, I don't I mean I had to dissect a 15 page Motorsport Australia hearing document late last week. So my my tolerance for legalese is is ⁓ had already been reached. I don't know a a a whole lot about how this whole thing played out, but ⁓ I do think the fact that it never sat quite right with me that they had effectively extrapolated a race result to leave him on the on on the on the podium or to put him on the podium for that for that race. Yep. I think that that was always a something that just didn't make a whole lot of sense because yeah, you're effectively A changing the course of the race by the fact that there was the penalty and then not serving the penalty and and all that sort of stuff. And B you run the risk of creating an environment where drivers don't serve in race penalties and just and then just, you know, tr chance their luck after the race and all that sort of stuff, which just makes the whole thing a whole lot messier. So I I think it was the right it's the right outcome in terms of what was decided by the the the Court of Appeal. And as for the other stuff, I mean, yeah, what it just sounds it sounds messy. Yeah. ⁓ Isaac Hadja appears increasingly unlikely to return to this weekend Spanish Grand Prix as Red Bull continues to prioritize his recovery from a wrist injury. While the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid this weekend ⁓ has emerged had emerged as the next possible target of a Hajar's comeback, Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekis has now conceded the turnaround maybe too tight. He said he's okay, he can't drive now, so obviously I'm not going to tell you he's happy because he's not. But the absolute priority is his recovery. We have no reason to take risks with it. The season so far has been fantastic. He's young, he improves every time he drives. So it's important for him when he's a hundred percent. Obviously that means that Liam stays in and just quietly, a little bit disappointing has been Suzuki Vitara ABL. I don't think he's made the best of his opportunity in the first two races that he's on his comeback. Probably not. I think Liam will be looking forward to getting back in the Racing Bulls at some point. It was pretty tough outing in Monza for him. ⁓ obviously had the grid penalty and and that sort of stuff, but Kimmy kind of showed that you could make progress in a in a fast car if you're serving one of those grid penalties. But I I get the I I think that what we are seeing here is the fact that Red Bull finally does have faith in its number two driver in the main team. And by that I mean that they aren't pushing to get him back in the car as fast as possible. There's clearly a a level of belief that he's the right guy to be in that seat and give him time to recover and get healthy and then come back and and continue trying to take the fight to max, which we know is the toughest job in Formula One by an absolute country mile. So there's obviously just a big a big shift in thinking around that second seat. It doesn't feel like the the poison chalice that it used to always feel like. What that means for ⁓ Leon Lawson moving forward is kind of That's where it gets tricky because as we've discussed over and over, racing bulls has to be a revolving door. That's just how how it works. ⁓ and then once you've got stability in the main lineup, then like the your options of progression through that system disappear to some extent. So I I still think Liam's done a a good job of this. It it's been a tough ass to come in and and have to drive a new car and perform at that level. You're right, Sonoda hasn't necessarily set the world. I mean, he's His appearance in Holland was pretty good to be honest. ⁓ but ⁓ a bit of a tough outing this weekend as well. But to come into like we've talked so much about these regulations and the complexity of them and all that sort of stuff. Like that is a massive arse to to also come back into Formula One and try and drive these cars and understand all of the the the really complicated ways in which you need to to drive them and press the right button at this time and to get the best out of these cars. So like pretty Pretty tough ask. So anyway, we'll see what ⁓ we'll see what happens ⁓ yeah in Spain. ⁓ Lance Strahl has done something no other Formula One driver has ever achieved, but it's not a record I'll be proud of. The Aston Martin driver set the unwanted milestone during qualifying at the Italian Grand Prix as he ended up twenty second and slowest. ⁓ he became the first driver to register a hundred Q one eliminations since the three part qualifying system was introduced twenty years ago in two thousand and six. In practice, ⁓ Fernando Alonso, his teammate was fifty kilometres an hour s slower down the strait than the fastest car, which was Lewis in the Ferrari. Neither Fernando Alonso nor Stroll made it to the finish due to suspected car damage for the Spaniard and a hydraulic issue on the Canadian's machine. After looking at them at Netherlands and then watching this, ⁓ my god, they're a long way still. Well this you know there was so much stock put into this engine upgrade. This Honda engine upgrade that was introduced in ⁓ Zanvoort. ⁓ obviously they did make some ground up with the chassis side of things. We kinda saw that ⁓ with the upgrade. What was it? Was it Hungary where the chassis upgrade came in? Yeah. And then the next step was to try and erase this straight line deficit. And ⁓ Monza's a pretty good place to try and work out whether you've done that or not. And they they were not good signs. Yeah, I tell you, they're in all sorts. And again I think ⁓ Lance put out a f or sat down with the press for forty four seconds in the pen. So that was I think that's the longest one he's done all year, which is good well done, Lance. ⁓ and he's always a riveting listen too, so there's a bloke that just does look like he wants to be there, which is insane in my mind, but whatever. Supercars has appointed Mark Pedic as its chief operating officer among multiple changes to its leadership team structure. Pedic is a longtime ally of race boss and Barclay Nettelfold. having previously worked for his media business. One of those will search around the world for this next bike we found him down the corridor. Cases again, ABL. ⁓ there's no official update on the chief executive officer role, with Nettlefold continuing to lead on an interim basis, as he's done since Jane Warburton's exit in early April. Other confirmed changes to the leadership team include the addition of Bath's twelve hour boss Shane Rudzers, ⁓ events manager Nicole Dickinson, and communications boss Nick Rahman, the Noodle. ⁓ Dickinson has taken over the top events role following the post Perth departure of Phil Shaw while Raman the Noodle started in early August to fill the position earlier held by Matthew Carmichael. What say you about that? Yeah, I know great surprise ⁓ in terms of Mark Pedic's appointment. Obviously that's what we sort of suspected Barclay would do in terms of creating his sort of ⁓ axis of power at the very top of the executive side of the business. So that That makes perfect sense. The the interesting thing is still what is gonna happen to to the CEO role. And right now we do st still the smart money is still on the fact that ⁓ that Barclay will continue in that role. It will stop being an interim role and become a permanent role at some point. ⁓ but the fact there's no confirmation on that and there's still the odd whisper that, you know, there is a genuine effort to see what other options are out there is is interesting at this point because we probably thought around has mania time that that that there would be clarity on on the fact that that Barclay would remain in that role on a more permanent basis pretty quickly. And we're a fair way down the road from that now. And ⁓ and we and we haven't got full clarity on that. So it will be ⁓ it will be interesting to see if and when we do kind of get that understanding. I also do get that like, you know, we're we're in the middle or we're at some point in these negotiations about the team's racing charter and And trying to put together the calendar. We normally get a calendar somewhere around Bathurst. Bathur is really not that far away. So there is potentially just more important things for for these people to be doing at the moment than kind of pressuring Barclay into deciding what he wants to do and whether he's going to continue in a more on a more permanent basis in that role. So I would imagine it it probably is just a case of energy being spent elsewhere. ⁓ Kiwi's Nozis overseas. NASCAR SVG finished a lap down in 26th at the Band Canada 400 at Darlington. He was the first of the trackhouse racing cars home in a race one by Christopher Bell. ⁓ IndyCar Laguna Saka in qualifying Scotty McLaughlin stuck it on pole. Marcus Armstrong ninth, Will Power 13th, and Scotty Dixon 16th. And in the race, Scotty then capitalised on the pole to get his first win in two years in IndyCar. Marcus Armstrong was seventh. Power was thirteenth and Scottie Dixon was seventeenth. The first time Scottie Dixon hasn't won a race in like a thousand years in a season. And the final standings saw the championship won by Alex Pillow. McLaughlin came home in sixth. Power 11th. Dixon twelfth, and Armstrong 14th. While we're there, Indy NXT Lockie Hughes scored a podium for Andretti Global, finishing only point four of a second behind new champion Nikita Johnson, who ran second, while fellow Australian Jack Beaton. ⁓ recovered from sixteenth on the grid to finish tenth and in Formula three in Italy ⁓ in the feature race James Wharton ran seventh and the sprint he ran eighth. Rotto, we'll go to a break and we'll come back and preview the Air Touch five hundred from the bend. Winter could spell bad news for your vehicle's battery. Here are three maintenance tips from the battery gurus at RNJ Batteries. 1. Avoid frequent short trips to keep your battery at a healthy state of charge. 2. Keep the battery terminals clean and corrosion free. 3. Avoid running your accessories with the engine off for too long. If your battery is three years or older, it might be time to get it tested for free at your local R<unk>J battery. R and J batteries, power like nothing else. Yeah, welcome back now. Let's preview this weekend's first in Duro for 2026. Get your seat mold out, AVL, bitch your booster seat, and we'll imagine me and you sharing a car. What a what a sight. ⁓ yeah. We'll start with the supports. Australian prototype series will be there this weekend, as will the touring car masters. I don't know whether they're allowed to have their cigarette advertising, Av. Can you do something about that? Aussie race cars and transams. For sessions for supercars, there's five practice sessions on Friday and Saturday. Does that include the brake pad test on the ⁓ that's a six then? Count that as six. Yep. So so six times the cars will be out on track. There's qualifying and then there's a top ten shootout late Saturday afternoon. Then Sunday is a hundred and forty seven laps of the bend starting at quarter past two. Weather is fine all weekend, no rain, twenty one all the way through to twenty six by Sunday. Now what's on? And I'll tell you what, there's a fantastic motorsport display on all weekend there, Avial. But when I say what activity's been missing from motorsport until now, what is it? Dunno. What do you got? Rock climbing, Avial. That's right. ⁓ okay. Yeah, great. Got nothing to do with Dick Johnson. Finally you can watch racing cars and then go and climb up a plastic wall. But it doesn't end there because the other big attraction according to the supercar's website is the orbit. That's right, take a spin on the orbit, they say, a thr thrilling ride that rotates riders through full three sixty degree turns in every direction. It's a fun and exciting challenge that's guaranteed to get the adrenaline flowing. I'm just quoting the website. So if you're at the track and you're listening to this show, have a couple of Dagwood dogs, maybe a few sneaky frothies, and then an oak milk, and then head over to the orbit and get someone to film it and tag AVL in your videos on social media. Very interested. Don't do any of those things, please. ⁓ who's your podium for the weekend? I'm gonna go with Feeney and Purkat, Payne and Davo, and Brody and Todd. Yeah. I feel like Davo and Payne from Brody and Todd and Feeney will grab the third spot. What about shootout or the poll? I'm just gonna go with Maddie Payne. I'll go with Brock Feeney. ⁓ yeah, okay. What about this one? Best performance from an unexpected. Co driver. Does Richie Stanaway count? He's a Bathus one thousand winner, but I do think that him and Jimmy Golding are a pretty formidable lineup. And we know that BRT has its weekends where it turns out some pretty fast cars. So I'm gonna go down that path. You know where I'm going? Someone that we know can drive is a steady set of hand and always does a great job. I think Dave Russell will do a really good job with Juice. So what about safety cars for the race ABL? Hundred and forty seven laps. Three. I'm gonna say two, but maybe even one. What's your unlikely headline from the weekend? ⁓ Harndorf hailed was excellent accommodation choice to cover an event an hour away. Mine is fans turned away at the gate as inaugural one hundred and forty seven laps around the benders sold out, so ⁓ I don't think so. If this is the answer, what's the question? The answer is a hundred and forty seven laps. What's the question? How long will the trip from Harndorf to the Bend feel each day? Mine's how many looks will it take for a legend to remember which way this track goes? ⁓ and if this is the answer, what's the question? The answer is A V L and Stefan Bartholomew. I don't even know where you're heading with this one. You can tackle this one on your own. Which two podcasters will regret not having a mobile recording studio set up in their car by Sunday night at the thing we'll be fine at some sort of stuff. Figure it out. Early apologies for audio quality 'cause I think it's gonna have to be an in the car job given the fact we have to drive all the way back to Handorf every day. Handorf. ⁓ all right, let's take a break. We'll come back with rear of grid and some live show updates. Yeah, welcome back to Rear of Grid AVL. Part of the ⁓ benefit of being a member of Full Credit to the Noise and part of the Discord was you got the option to buy tickets to our very first live show, which will be at Bathurst on Wednesday. But did you want to announce something now about that show? And maybe even who's going to be there. Yeah, should we go live with the guests? Should we do it? Yeah. Yeah. Alright. So as it stands, let's always remember that Bathur is a very is a is a it's a challenging week. But so ⁓ we have Ryan Walkenshaw and Greg Murphy locked in for the show, which is going to be fantastic. ⁓ obviously massive characters. It's a milestone year for Murph at Bathurst, so there's going to be some fun stuff with one of our dear partners, authentic collectibles, around ⁓ around that whole thing. Just quietly, I found one of the best film clips of Greg Murphy from back in the day when he's got a flat top haircut. That it is just sensational that we'll be using. It'll be on the show, trust me. ⁓ when you're there. So Yeah, there's no camera there's no phones, by the way, we should announce. We should not be recorded. It will never be released as a podcast. If you are not in the room, you are going to miss all the fun. ⁓ that's how we're running this thing. We do at the moment, it's still the only access to tickets is through our membership program and through the Discord. And ⁓ we don't have many tickets left. We are what over three quarters sold out now? More, eighty percent. Well over three quarters sold out, yeah, which is ⁓ like amazing. And thank you so much to our members for for getting behind this. I as I ⁓ have said before, the greatest fear that I had was that no one would be wanna go listen to us talking about racing cars. ⁓ we could have turned in anything if there's only five people there. And it's ⁓ and it's ⁓ we that that is a that is a fear that is ⁓ has been alleviated by incredible sales. We will Hopefully be on public sales soon. But right now, if you do want to snap up one of the last few tickets, make sure you sign up for a membership and ⁓ go looking for the link and then get dragged into the rest of the madness, which is the Discord. Yeah, I might have went a bit heavy last night on ⁓ George Russell, by the way. If George was in the Discord, I apologise for what I said when I called him a disgrace for not winning that race. But anyway, I don't think he's a member to be honest. You reckon he's he'd need therapy if he was. I hope he's not a listener to be to be fair. He'd need therapy. All right, let's do some credit or show notes, but it's really exciting. I'm really looking forward to it. I did a fair bit of work on the weekend preparing for it. It's gonna be those bikes are gonna have some very good stories and remember they will the shackles will be off because there's nothing is on the record. It is an off the record show. ⁓ and I reckon there could be some ⁓ some pretty fun stories come out. So it's ⁓ it's gonna be great. All right, let's do some credit or shredded. So I'm gonna make a statement. You just tell me if you agree or disagree with a credit or a shreddit will come back after we've done all six. Number one, the Enduro at the bend will actually be a fantastic race despite the naysayers. Ooh, I'm gonna go with credit. Yeah, I'm gonna say credit too. I've got a feeling. ⁓ number two, JRM released their livery for the wildcard at Bathurst. Supercars should have only allowed them to race if they promised to run white wheels over the entire weekend. Credit. Credit. Number three, to be eligible to race as a wildcard at Bathurst, you should also have to run in the lead up enduro as well at the bend. Shreddit. Credit. Number four, George Russell will never win the drivers championship. Credit. Credit. Number five, the Matt Payne Will Davison combo should be clear flav favourites for the Enduro Cup. Shreddit. Really? Shredd. Number six. The Super Cheap wildcard will be the first wildcard home at Sbathist. Craig Lowndes and Bailey Hall will beat home. Ben Gomersal and Campbell Logan and Nathan Hearn, James Moffat. ⁓ Shreddit. Ooh, I'm gonna say Shredd as well. Alright. Enduro will be a fantastic race. Just gut feel. I'm just gonna I'm just being an optimist. It's easier to not be. ⁓ we all understand the some of the flaws of the facility at the bend, but I like the idea of being on the shorter circuit. ⁓ and it's just it's been a really crazy competitive year of supercars racing and there's no reason why we won't see a great race there. So yeah, that's just I'm taking the glass half full approach. White wheels for the GRM livery. It is running white wheels, but isn't it? Well, renders don't mean much really, let's be fair. No, I'm pretty sure it is. I think it is. Okay. Yep. Okay. Well I hope it is 'cause it looks mint. I've got it does look great, yeah. It needs to it it would be it would it would really be falling over the last hurdle of a fantastic looking race car by deviating from that. So the wildcard of Bathurst should also have to run an enduro as well. I know why you're saying shred it. That is a a significant cost addition. ⁓ and putting a Bathurne wildcard program together is expensive enough as it is. Everyone would prefer to do both races, right? Like nobody elects to do Bathurst not run the bend because they don't can't be bothered. Like that's it's i we're just it's it's just a money thing. And obviously from a commercial point of view, Bathurst is a much easier sell. So when you're putting a commercial package together, that's what you build it around. And I think when you look at the case of when you've got young drivers going through, let's say, a Tickford program. Even though that's actually the opposite, 'cause that's only the bend, but you know, it that's that's built around ⁓ drivers effectively bringing money to to financially prop something up. And then you look at their GRM thing, which will would have involved a little bit of that, but they have built a commercial program around it. Easy to do it for Bathers, but then suddenly you're saying if they had to do the bend as well, it would just push it into a price bracket that would potentially just be completely unrealistic. So I don't think there should be reddit. You changed my mind. I don't think there should ever be kind of a ⁓ a mandatory like you have to commit to both because it's, you know, we're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars to go and do one of these races. You know, it's a it's a lot of money. George Russell will never win the drivers' championship. I went with credit because it's fun, but like You know, like Mercedes if Mercedes has got the most dominant car for the next three years and and you know, who knows, he might have his year. But ⁓ right now it's it's just really hard to imagine 'cause as we spoke about ⁓ at great length at the start of the show or the top of the show, Kimi just looks so fast and he's just got it over him by such a significant amount and ⁓ if we ever needed proof of that, it was on Sunday night. I just think he needs to go to a sport shrink A SAP because you'd have to be a special kind of dude to be able to compartmentalize what's happened in the first part of this year with the opportunity he's had with the time he's already done in the sport to get to this point and now to be in this position, mate, there'll be a lot of sleepless nights, I reckon. Yeah. Payne and Davo should be clear your favourites. I think they should be for the Enduro Cup. I I'm sure in in terms of a betting market ⁓ scenario they probably are, but like I just there's never favourites for these enduro's. Like too much can and does happen. ⁓ and also I did just tip Brock Feeney and Nick Perkett to win the Ben five hundred. So ⁓ it would be odd for me to then turn around and say they're the clear favourites. But ⁓ yeah, just so much happens in these races. So like it's I I'm always wary of saying these are the favorites because it's yeah, it just so rarely actually plays out like you think it's going to. ⁓ the Super Chute Wild Cup will the first one home. We both said shred it. Who do you reckon will be? Well, I don't think the Gomasol Logan cars at Bathurst, right? I think that's only the bent. ⁓ it is too. Sorry, my mistake. ⁓ and scratching and a and and again I went with Shreddit based on nothing other than the fact that it's incredibly difficult to predict how these races play out. As I was just saying about the the favorite, so or the favorite tag. So I think yeah, so that's why that's a Shredded, because it's just literally too difficult to to try and predict. I say shredded because my man Nathan Hearn is gonna shock the world. All right, letter of the week. Now watch a listen to this, this is interesting. This is from Josh Harris, he's in the Discord. He said with the Ben five hundred only a week away and the event having seemingly cross ⁓ sorry, arrived on our doorstep with little to no fanfare, is this proof of the need for a third enduro for the pre-Bathist ⁓ Enduro marquee event at a marquee track? While professional motorsport is a business and the Shahins have appropriately compensated supercars for the ability to host the event, it feels pretty low key. Your supercar is doing itself an overall disservice by allowing historically important and revered race to be on sole to the highest bidder. What do you reckon? Yes, there's a lot in there that is I'd love a third in duro. I would too, yes. All right, let's let's start there. Yes, th there should be three in juros. That would be fantastic. ⁓ I guess the way the finals thing plays out, it's kind of given Gold Coast that significance that maybe softens the blow of that not being in in duro anymore a little bit. But yeah, ⁓ I would be great to have more in Euros for sure. So that would definitely be a good thing. Is SuperCars doing itself an overall disservice by allowing an important and revered race to be onsold to the highest bidder? Like, it just depends how you look at it. Like, of course, in one way, yes, because we'd all love the Sandown 500 to still be the lead up to the Bathurst 1000. But again, it this is a very expensive and complicated business. So it's You know, we'd love to have eighteen races every year as well. And we'd love all these other things, but like it's just not that e it's such an easy thing to say. You know, Barclay and Edderfall just sit there and say, right, we're gonna have to sand down five hundred and we're not gonna take the money to run at the bend or whatever. It's it's easy to say, but at some point you gotta balance those books as well. And you need to keep the wheels of the entire sport turning and ⁓ and there have to be commercial considerations in that. It's just it's just how life works. So yeah, that's my sort of take on it. Like I I understand the point very much. But this is actually what's best for the sport because otherwise the sport wouldn't be doing it. You know, we need money flowing in. It's it's critical. Yeah, I say get around the bend. I think it might be a good race, and maybe that sort of five hundred kilometre thing might suit the track itself. So I'm gonna say whilst I agree it's a shame and everything else, I just feel like a third in Jiro would be the solution that would please almost everyone. Yeah, that would be great. That would be great. Righto, that'll about do us for this episode of Full Credit of the Noise. Don't forget you can find the show on all the socials at FCTTN Podcast.
