- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Well, Heidi Ho, 3.05 in the afternoon, NewsRadio 570 WKBN
- 0:09Speaker 2: and Ron Verb. Welcome. Monday, October 12th already, 71 degrees.
- 0:15Speaker 2: And let's see, anything exciting going on in this Monday,
- 0:18Speaker 2: October 12th with 71 degrees? Oh, yeah, El Presidente coming
- 0:22Speaker 2: to town. And so speaking at the Covelli Center. Around
- 0:27Speaker 2: 6 o'clock, they say, tonight. He's supposed to speak. If
- 0:31Speaker 2: those things run on time, we shall see. So President
- 0:36Speaker 2: Trump coming to Youngstown, coming to the Covelli Center. I
- 0:41Speaker 2: think they said Friday doors open at 2.30. You have
- 0:45Speaker 2: to have tickets. But doors open at 2.30. And as
- 0:49Speaker 2: I understand it, people were lined up way, way, way
- 0:52Speaker 2: before the 2.30 time. I mean, it's almost like the
- 0:58Speaker 2: Black Friday events that used to happen years ago with
- 1:01Speaker 2: people lining up at the doors at Best Buy waiting
- 1:03Speaker 2: for them to open. Well, a pair of people this
- 1:05Speaker 2: morning were lined up at the Covelli Center waiting for
- 1:09Speaker 2: the doors, obviously, to open and hopefully, I guess, to
- 1:12Speaker 2: get a good seat to see President Trump. Think how
- 1:15Speaker 2: long a day that would be. I mean, think how
- 1:18Speaker 2: long a day it would be even now. If you
- 1:20Speaker 2: go in at 2.30, I mean, you're looking at... three
- 1:24Speaker 2: and a half hours if it runs on time before
- 1:27Speaker 2: he even takes to the stage and starts to speak.
- 1:32Speaker 2: That is quite a bit of that's quite a wait,
- 1:35Speaker 2: isn't it? I mean, that's I mean, that's that's a
- 1:38Speaker 2: long time to wait. But people do it. And it's
- 1:41Speaker 2: a work day on top of that. So you have
- 1:43Speaker 2: a work day and we shall see what what the
- 1:48Speaker 2: situation is. Anyway, hopefully we'll talk to some folks that
- 1:51Speaker 2: are down there. They call the broadcast 330-729-9977. I think,
- 1:58Speaker 2: I think, I think we might see, we might hear
- 2:01Speaker 2: from G2. I think G2 might be out of the
- 2:05Speaker 2: bunker and potentially somewhere, somewhere at the Cavalli Center today
- 2:12Speaker 2: for the Trump situation going on. Speech, if you will.
- 2:17Speaker 2: So G2 is out of the bunker. I know that.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And so we'll more than likely check in with the
- 2:22Speaker 2: broadcast today. So that's big news for our area. So
- 2:27Speaker 2: obviously he's coming to town to stump for Ramaswamy. Tight
- 2:33Speaker 2: race there. Amy Acton ahead, they say, if you believe
- 2:35Speaker 2: the polls. Tight, tight race there. And obviously for Houston.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Sherrod Brown has a pretty decent lead, if you believe
- 2:44Speaker 2: the polls. Like I like to say, Sherrod Brown has
- 2:46Speaker 2: a lead over John Husted and Amy Acton. Sherrod Brown
- 2:51Speaker 2: has a bigger lead over Husted than Amy Acton has
- 2:53Speaker 2: over Ramaswamy. But needless to say, both of the Democrats
- 2:58Speaker 2: have a lead supposedly over the Republicans. So obviously Trump
- 3:03Speaker 2: is in town to stump, as they say, for the
- 3:08Speaker 2: Republican candidates. Try to give them a boost, try to
- 3:11Speaker 2: help them out. So we shall see what the situation
- 3:14Speaker 2: is there and what the speech is all about as
- 3:17Speaker 2: the afternoon goes on. It's a perfect day for everybody
- 3:20Speaker 2: to be either way outside. I mean, we don't have
- 3:22Speaker 2: any rain. We have perfect temperatures. So it's a glorious
- 3:26Speaker 2: day for us. But it's always an exciting time when
- 3:29Speaker 2: a president of the United States comes to your community.
- 3:32Speaker 2: And that's cool. Outside of that, how about those Guardians?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Was that not exciting on Saturday? We'll have the game
- 3:38Speaker 2: tonight at 7.30. The Guardians, I think, 7.30 pregame, 8
- 3:44Speaker 2: o'clock first pitch, as the Guardians move on, as they say,
- 3:50Speaker 2: in this postseason play. So needless to say, Guardians play
- 3:54Speaker 2: tonight here. It's exciting to listen to that. Browns were
- 3:58Speaker 2: a disappointment. YSU was just huge. I mean, just hugely
- 4:04Speaker 2: victorious on Saturday. I think I covered the wild, wacky
- 4:07Speaker 2: world of sports. YSU wins. Browns lose. Guardians win and
- 4:11Speaker 2: move on. Guardians on the air tonight. President Trump coming
- 4:15Speaker 2: to town and G2 on location. You're on the air.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Hello.
- 4:23Speaker 2: You got to say hello into the phone. Put you back.
- 4:27Speaker 2: You're on the air.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Yeah, Ronaldo, good afternoon. For my fellow Social Security recipients,
- 4:33Speaker 4: this Wednesday, two days, the 2027 COLA will be announced
- 4:38Speaker 4: on the 14th. It looks like 3.5%, 3.6%. So that'll
- 4:40Speaker 4: be $ 3. 50 or $ 3. 60 for every $ 136 or $ 35 per thousand,
- 4:41Speaker 4: which is one of the larger raises that the COLA
- 4:44Speaker 4: has been. But it obviously went up. Heating fuel has
- 4:59Speaker 4: doubled in price, and electricity has gone up 100%, which
- 5:03Speaker 4: is double. You know, that's a double. Price is 100%.
- 5:06Speaker 4: And the kept price of gasoline, you're really falling farther behind.
- 5:12Speaker 4: It's nice to get that COLA, but it's not going
- 5:15Speaker 4: to begin to cover how expenses have gone up. If
- 5:18Speaker 4: it's going up 3% and your heating fuel has gone
- 5:22Speaker 4: up 100%, You can see how you're falling behind.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:26Speaker 2: I mean, like you say, somehow the increases never keep
- 5:30Speaker 2: up with the cost. That's interesting. An important period is
- 5:34Speaker 2: coming about. Just bear with me here because you bring
- 5:38Speaker 2: up some important things. Listen, folks, I say this often.
- 5:41Speaker 2: I'm just giving you my thoughts and my opinions. But
- 5:45Speaker 2: coming up October 15th through December 7th, October 15th through
- 5:49Speaker 2: December 7th, If you're on Medicare, it's the review period
- 5:55Speaker 2: that's going on between October 15th and December 7th. It
- 6:00Speaker 2: is vital. Particularly this year, it's vital that any of
- 6:05Speaker 2: you on Social Security take a look at that review process.
- 6:11Speaker 2: As I've said in the past, and I give you
- 6:14Speaker 2: my opinion, in my humble opinion, I would never be
- 6:19Speaker 2: on anything but standard Medicare. I personally would never be
- 6:24Speaker 2: on a Medicare Advantage plan. Medicare Advantage is not Medicare,
- 6:28Speaker 2: it's private insurance. that Medicare pays. Unfortunately, many Medicare Advantage
- 6:34Speaker 2: plans you see in a country, many of these companies
- 6:38Speaker 2: are withdrawing from certain areas and communities. And let me
- 6:44Speaker 2: just say this about some Medicare Advantage plans. Like I say,
- 6:48Speaker 2: they are withdrawing from some communities. They are raising maximum
- 6:55Speaker 2: out-of-pockets expenses. Some from $ 3, 500 to $ 9, 000, I'm led to believe.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Some maximum out-of-pocket is going way beyond the $ 3, 500 up
- 7:07Speaker 2: to $ 9, 500 or $ 9, 000 if you're in-network, even higher if
- 7:12Speaker 2: you're out-of-network. So if I back up and I said
- 7:15Speaker 2: this to all of you, all of you that are
- 7:17Speaker 2: close to Medicare age and all of you that are
- 7:20Speaker 2: on Medicare age, It's a little late if you're on
- 7:25Speaker 2: a Medicare Advantage plan. I think if you're on a
- 7:27Speaker 2: Medicare Advantage plan, it's very difficult to get back on
- 7:29Speaker 2: standard Medicare. If you're on standard Medicare, as I tell everybody,
- 7:34Speaker 2: as I would say to the gentleman on the end
- 7:35Speaker 2: of my line, on standard Medicare, there are no pre-authorizations.
- 7:42Speaker 2: If you're on standard Medicare, you don't have to get
- 7:44Speaker 2: pre-approval from an insurance company. You don't have to get
- 7:48Speaker 2: pre-approval from your family doctor. to see any specialist. You
- 7:52Speaker 2: don't need any of that. On standard Medicare, you don't
- 7:56Speaker 2: need pre-approvals. You don't need your doctor's reference. You don't
- 8:00Speaker 2: need any of that. And it's good anywhere you go
- 8:03Speaker 2: in the country. So it is a great plan. And
- 8:08Speaker 2: then you must have what they call supplements because Medicare
- 8:12Speaker 2: pays 80%. So to cover the other 20%, you can
- 8:15Speaker 2: have what's Now, this is a private insurance plan. It's
- 8:20Speaker 2: called Plan G or Plan N. They're regulated through Medicare.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And so Medicare says to all the insurance companies, this
- 8:28Speaker 2: is what that plan must cover. And you're required to
- 8:31Speaker 2: cover that. And despite the fact that they're all the same,
- 8:36Speaker 2: some insurance companies charge more than others for it. But,
- 8:39Speaker 2: for example, if you're on standard Medicare, as I said,
- 8:42Speaker 2: you don't have an HMO or PPO. You don't have
- 8:45Speaker 2: to worry about staying in network or getting pre-approvals. None
- 8:49Speaker 2: of that applies if you're on standard Medicare. And if
- 8:53Speaker 2: you have Plan G, you pay for that out of
- 8:57Speaker 2: your checking account. Standard Medicare is like $ 202. 90 a month
- 9:02Speaker 2: out of your Social Security check. Your Plan G comes
- 9:05Speaker 2: out of your checking account. It could be anywhere from
- 9:07Speaker 2: $ 150 to $ 250 or $ 300. And so many people look
- 9:12Speaker 2: at that monthly cost because it goes up as you
- 9:16Speaker 2: get older. But let me tell you something. It's well
- 9:20Speaker 2: worth paying whatever that cost is because once you pay
- 9:23Speaker 2: your $ 275 deductible, if you need your Medicare, everything else
- 9:29Speaker 2: is totally covered. In other words, there are no further
- 9:32Speaker 2: expenses for you. You have a $ 275 deductible on standard Medicare,
- 9:38Speaker 2: then everything else is covered. Now, obviously, you have your
- 9:41Speaker 2: monthly cost of paying $ 202. 90 for Medicare and the cost
- 9:44Speaker 2: of your Plan G. If you're on a Medicare Advantage plan,
- 9:49Speaker 2: you've got to get pre-approval, you've got to stay within network, and,
- 9:53Speaker 2: of course, you have deductibles that you have to pay.
- 9:57Speaker 2: But they entice you by saying, well, you can have.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Dental or you can have vision. They throw you all
- 10:04Speaker 2: this so-called additional stuff in. But there's a price I
- 10:08Speaker 2: believe you pay long term because as you get older,
- 10:11Speaker 2: the odds of you getting sick go up dramatically because
- 10:14Speaker 2: you're getting older. It's Anybody that's close to Medicare, I
- 10:19Speaker 2: highly recommend that you stay on standard Medicare and get
- 10:24Speaker 2: a supplement, a plan G or N. And I'm not
- 10:28Speaker 2: a fan of Medicare Advantage plans because there's too many rules.
- 10:32Speaker 2: There's too many. I was just reading prior to coming
- 10:36Speaker 2: on here some of these plans. Carriers are canceling out
- 10:41Speaker 2: some communities. And increasing their maximum out-of-pocket, and a lot
- 10:46Speaker 2: of people are in it. It's just not good. But
- 10:48Speaker 2: with all of that being said, I don't care if
- 10:50Speaker 2: you're on standard Medicare or Medicare Advantage. During open enrollment,
- 10:54Speaker 2: October 15th through December 7th, you should look at it
- 10:57Speaker 2: every single year. You'll get something in the mail that
- 11:02Speaker 2: will compare what you're on now and what if you're
- 11:05Speaker 2: on a Part D, which is a prescription drug thing.
- 11:08Speaker 2: On your standard Medicare, if you have Part D prescription
- 11:11Speaker 2: on standard Medicare, you'll get something in the mail that says,
- 11:14Speaker 2: here's what you had and here's what it's going to
- 11:16Speaker 2: be for next year. Do not throw it away. Look
- 11:18Speaker 2: at it. Read it. And look at what the changes
- 11:22Speaker 2: are because there will be some minor changes that can
- 11:25Speaker 2: happen there as well. So that's something to remember. I'm
- 11:29Speaker 2: glad you were the first call in that sense. So
- 11:32Speaker 2: keep all of that in mind and be careful. If
- 11:35Speaker 2: you're making a decision.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Remember, Ron, I like to tell people the difference is
- 11:40Speaker 4: standard Medicare is run by the government. Medicare Advantage plans
- 11:43Speaker 4: are run by private companies. And the private companies are
- 11:47Speaker 4: more likely or no doubt about it, they're run for profit.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Correct.
- 11:53Speaker 4: They'll deny more. One is a privately run company that
- 11:58Speaker 4: Medicare pays them so much a month or so much
- 12:00Speaker 4: a year to manage your care. And if they go
- 12:03Speaker 4: over that, of course, they're losing money, and if they
- 12:05Speaker 4: can deny you enough care, then they make money. So
- 12:08Speaker 4: that's a big event. One is government, and one is
- 12:11Speaker 4: private enterprise.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and I mean, I've just been given great guidance
- 12:17Speaker 2: over many, many years. I've interviewed a lot of people
- 12:20Speaker 2: from Social Security. I've interviewed... A lot of people about this,
- 12:23Speaker 2: but from my wife being in the medical field, my
- 12:26Speaker 2: brother being in the medical field, many of the doctors.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I mean, I was advised long before I reached Medicare
- 12:35Speaker 2: age to get on standard Medicare and never get on
- 12:38Speaker 2: a Medicare Advantage plan. You have a budget.
- 12:40Speaker 4: 20 more years to worry before you have to worry
- 12:43Speaker 4: about it.
- 12:44Speaker 2: No, no, no. I'm old. I'm on Medicare right now,
- 12:47Speaker 2: as a matter of fact.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Yeah, well, congratulations. And Part B, one good thing, may
- 12:52Speaker 4: be a good thing. Part B is not expected to
- 12:55Speaker 4: go up quite as much as it has in years past.
- 12:57Speaker 4: Like you say, that 209. Don't forget, that's income dependent also.
- 13:03Speaker 4: If you're in a higher income bracket, That 209 can
- 13:07Speaker 4: easily jump up to $ 350, $ 400, if you're making.
- 13:11Speaker 5: The big bucks.
- 13:11Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 13:12Speaker 2: I do.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Yeah, that depends on your income. So that $ 3. 5, $ 3. 6,
- 13:18Speaker 4: that'll be on your gross income. That's Social Security, not
- 13:23Speaker 4: the net, not what you take home. It's on the
- 13:25Speaker 4: gross amount. But again, there's federal tax that will come
- 13:28Speaker 4: out of that. And whatever the Medicare Part B goes up,
- 13:32Speaker 4: Standard Medicare, as you know, does not have dental eye
- 13:36Speaker 4: or prescription. That's where you have to get into those supplements.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Yeah, if you choose. I mean, you can always pay
- 13:42Speaker 2: for the dentist out of your own pocket, or you
- 13:43Speaker 2: can get a dental plan. Or you can get a
- 13:47Speaker 2: prescription or not. Well, if you're on standard Medicare, you
- 13:51Speaker 2: must have a supplement to cover the 20% Plan N
- 13:55Speaker 2: or Plan G. Either one's good. Minor deductibles on Plan N.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Like if you go with Plan N, I think you
- 14:03Speaker 2: pay $ 25 deductible going to the doctor and a $ 50
- 14:08Speaker 2: deductible for going to the emergency room. They're very minimal.
- 14:11Speaker 2: You don't have those at all with Plan G. Obviously,
- 14:13Speaker 2: Plan G's more expensive. But these are not Medicare Advantage plans.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Medicare is a good program all the way around, standard Medicare.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I'm a firm believer in it. It's a good program.
- 14:26Speaker 4: So again, my friends that are on Social Security, 3.5,
- 14:30Speaker 4: 3.6 come Wednesday, we'll find out. It's not going to
- 14:33Speaker 4: make you rich. It doesn't keep you actually up to
- 14:36Speaker 4: what's going on. When things increase by 75 or 100 percent,
- 14:40Speaker 4: you can see where the problem is.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Better than nothing, as they say.
- 14:44Speaker 4: It's a It's... Yeah, we keep an eye on it.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Sometimes the politicians want to change the index to a different...
- 14:53Speaker 4: I forget what they call it. They have a certain
- 14:55Speaker 4: formula now to call it what it costs a living.
- 14:57Speaker 4: But anyone who wants to index that, which means it
- 15:00Speaker 4: would be less, or anyone who wants to raise the
- 15:03Speaker 4: age of Social Security... or the amount of the benefits,
- 15:07Speaker 4: I'm not voting for him, Ron. Republican, Democrat, Martian, I
- 15:10Speaker 4: don't care.
- 15:11Speaker 2: I'm in agreement. The age was raised once, obviously. You know,
- 15:16Speaker 2: you can still take Social Security at 62, but your
- 15:19Speaker 2: full retirement age has been changed to 67.
- 15:20Speaker 6: But.
- 15:24Speaker 2: I am totally opposed to changing. If you take Social
- 15:26Speaker 2: Security at 62, you take a huge hit versus if
- 15:30Speaker 2: you take it at 65. If I'm doling out advice
- 15:34Speaker 2: to anybody, of course, it depends on your health and
- 15:37Speaker 2: what you do and everything. The reality is I would
- 15:40Speaker 2: never take Social Security until I was eligible for Medicare
- 15:43Speaker 2: because health insurance is very costly. And once you hit 65,
- 15:48Speaker 2: you could take your Social Security then if you decide
- 15:51Speaker 2: to stop working. If you continue to work, I wouldn't
- 15:55Speaker 2: take it until you're 66, because the final year, you
- 15:58Speaker 2: can make up to $ 65, 000 before any penalties kick in.
- 16:02Speaker 2: And then a penalty, instead of being $ 1 for every two,
- 16:05Speaker 2: is $ 1 for every three you go over. So the
- 16:08Speaker 2: penalty is much less of a penalty. You get it
- 16:10Speaker 2: all back in time anyway.
- 16:12Speaker 4: And Social Security, it was meant as a supplement. God
- 16:15Speaker 4: bless you. I have a military pension, so that's one thing,
- 16:18Speaker 4: and I have some medical coverage. But if you only
- 16:21Speaker 4: have Social Security... It's a rough, rough, rough road ahead
- 16:24Speaker 4: of you. You're not going to live very well. It's
- 16:26Speaker 4: going to be a struggle. Unfortunately, a lot of people
- 16:31Speaker 4: don't get ready for the future. But it was meant
- 16:33Speaker 4: as a supplement. And I think about 50% of the
- 16:37Speaker 4: nation now, that's their sole income for retirement.
- 16:39Speaker 2: If not more than that, what troubles me is about 65%
- 16:43Speaker 2: of the people are on Medicare Advantage, which I think
- 16:46Speaker 2: is a big mistake. But one other thing when you're
- 16:49Speaker 2: talking about people on Social Security, and I talk about
- 16:51Speaker 2: it all the time. Bear with me for one minute.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Hang on one second, all right? I always find this
- 16:55Speaker 2: guy an interesting guy. I'm going to come back and
- 16:57Speaker 2: wrap up my conversation with him. But I think he
- 17:00Speaker 2: gives some great advice and great heads up. I'll be
- 17:02Speaker 2: right back.
- 17:05Speaker 8: Mike Rowe here with a random fact. More than half
- 17:08Speaker 8: of the homes that have basements in North America will
- 17:11Speaker 8: experience water damage.
- 17:12Speaker 1: It's true.
- 17:13Speaker 8: Whether it's basement moisture, flooding, or bowing walls, do yourself
- 17:17Speaker 8: a favor. Call Groundworks. I spent some time working with

- 18:05Speaker 1: News Radio 570 WKBN.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Let me go back here. But you always bring up
- 18:13Speaker 2: a lot of great points that people should know as
- 18:16Speaker 2: far as the cost of living, Nicola. And And it
- 18:23Speaker 2: doesn't keep up with inflation. How many times have I
- 18:26Speaker 2: spoken about, which is, this is a reality, as people
- 18:29Speaker 2: go out and vote on these levies. And, you know,
- 18:31Speaker 2: many of these people, as I say, they think they're
- 18:33Speaker 2: better members of the community because they support some additional
- 18:36Speaker 2: property tax levy. And in my opinion, I'm not here to, listen,
- 18:41Speaker 2: I say save your powder on a lot of these
- 18:43Speaker 2: property tax levies and you should support your police and
- 18:46Speaker 2: your fire and your ambulance. I mean, that's, but the
- 18:50Speaker 2: rest of it's, is just not a good thing at
- 18:55Speaker 2: this time. As I say, you're making it difficult for
- 18:57Speaker 2: younger people to buy a home. You don't know the
- 18:59Speaker 2: damage you're doing. as far as the ability for younger
- 19:02Speaker 2: people to be able to afford to buy a home,
- 19:04Speaker 2: because the burden of property taxes and how much of
- 19:06Speaker 2: a monthly expense that is, in addition to the cost
- 19:09Speaker 2: of the home and the payment, you're making it hard.
- 19:11Speaker 4: At my age, I hear a lot of talk about, well,
- 19:15Speaker 4: Social Security is a Ponzi scheme. I'd rather save it
- 19:18Speaker 4: for myself. I'm a strong believer in Social Security. In
- 19:22Speaker 4: a way, too many people, even at my age, have
- 19:25Speaker 4: never put a nickel aside, let alone save for Social Security. And,
- 19:30Speaker 4: you know what, maybe you're not making enough money. How
- 19:34Speaker 4: much are you going to put aside? So I'm a
- 19:37Speaker 4: strong believer in Social Security. A lot of people are not.
- 19:40Speaker 4: They want that.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Money for themselves.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I'm 100% with you.
- 19:42Speaker 4: They can't save a dollar for themselves.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Well, you take a look at any of these surveys
- 19:46Speaker 2: which say people don't have $ 1, 000 saved for a car repair, $ 500.
- 19:50Speaker 6: Bucks.
- 19:50Speaker 2: So these people would act like they're going to save
- 19:52Speaker 2: for their retirement. It's ridiculous. But I agree with you.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Social Security is a good program. My point being about
- 19:58Speaker 2: these levies that are out there, I go back to say...
- 20:01Speaker 2: Not only are you making it difficult for young people
- 20:02Speaker 2: to buy a home because of the burden of the
- 20:04Speaker 2: monthly cost of property taxes, but you're making it difficult
- 20:08Speaker 2: for senior citizens. What do I mean? Let's say, as
- 20:12Speaker 2: you pointed out, a husband and wife are both on
- 20:13Speaker 2: Social Security and one of them dies. Now your household
- 20:17Speaker 2: income is cut in half. and they're literally taxed out
- 20:22Speaker 2: of their homes. This is what is happening, and nobody
- 20:25Speaker 2: seems to give a damn about that situation or speak
- 20:29Speaker 2: about it. It's all about the kids, or it's all
- 20:33Speaker 2: about the school, or it's all about this or that. Well,
- 20:35Speaker 2: you know what? What about those people? Well, they're just
- 20:38Speaker 2: going to have to move. They're just going to have
- 20:39Speaker 2: to go to an apartment. I give you.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Credit, Ron, because you speak truth to power about that.
- 20:45Speaker 4: You're one of the very few people that bring that up.
- 20:47Speaker 4: And I give you credit for that in an aye-aye, Captain.
- 20:50Speaker 4: And keep an eye out for Wednesday. We'll see what
- 20:52Speaker 4: that raise is.
- 20:53Speaker 12: Thanks, Ron.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Thank you. Report in to me. I appreciate you. You're
- 20:56Speaker 2: on the air.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Good afternoon, Ron.
- 20:59Speaker 13: I'm a firm believer.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I'm proud to say I love my Medicare.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Standard Medicare?
- 21:04Speaker 3: A and B.
- 21:07Speaker 13: And I had a really good independent lady that a
- 21:10Speaker 13: friend referred me to about four years ago. I'm 68.
- 21:13Speaker 13: She just came over, asked what medications I was on,
- 21:17Speaker 13: and basically she presented all kinds of options. She didn't
- 21:20Speaker 13: tell me which one to take, but she showed me,
- 21:23Speaker 13: you go this way if you go that way, and
- 21:26Speaker 13: let me make the decision. And I was between a
- 21:28Speaker 13: G and an N, and I ended up choosing G.
- 21:32Speaker 13: And I got UnitedHealthcare as my supplement, and I'm thrilled
- 21:37Speaker 13: to death with it.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're on standard Medicare. That's what I say.
- 21:42Speaker 2: I mean, in my opinion, and I can only give
- 21:44Speaker 2: you my opinion, And is it based on facts? I
- 21:48Speaker 2: believe so. And I also believe it's, you know, like
- 21:50Speaker 2: I say, my wife's in the field, my brother's in
- 21:52Speaker 2: the field, as far as the medical field. And I
- 21:57Speaker 2: would never, standard Medicare is the way to go and
- 21:59Speaker 2: a Plan G is the way to go. And granted,
- 22:02Speaker 2: as you get older, that plan can cost you more.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I'm not saying it won't cost you more, but I
- 22:06Speaker 2: don't give a damn if it's $ 300 a month or
- 22:09Speaker 2: whatever as you get older. You're going to get sick
- 22:11Speaker 2: as you get older and you're going to be glad
- 22:13Speaker 2: all those costs are covered.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 22:15Speaker 13: Another thing, what I did find out, I was diagnosed
- 22:19Speaker 13: with moderate mild sleep apnea. And so I went and
- 22:23Speaker 13: got a dental device made, and it has made a
- 22:26Speaker 13: big difference and really helped my health, helped my sleeping.
- 22:29Speaker 13: But when I went to the dentist that does this
- 22:32Speaker 13: in this area, he asked me, do.
- 22:33Speaker 5: You have Medicare?
- 22:34Speaker 13: I said, yes, I do, A and B. He goes,
- 22:36Speaker 13: do you have standard or the advantage?
- 22:39Speaker 3: Standard.
- 22:40Speaker 13: It was paid for with my UnitedHealthcare 100%. Now, if
- 22:44Speaker 13: it was an advantage, it wasn't going.
- 22:46Speaker 3: To cover it. Right.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Well, and you're sleeping better then.
- 22:51Speaker 13: Yep, I'm sleeping better with it. And like I said,
- 22:54Speaker 13: I'm just over my plan. I very rarely, if anything,
- 22:57Speaker 13: get a doctor bill from anybody. Usually the deductibles are
- 23:01Speaker 13: met so close, the doctors just write the rest of
- 23:03Speaker 13: that off.
- 23:04Speaker 3: It's like, really? This is great. I wish I had
- 23:06Speaker 3: this insurance my whole life.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and you've got a $ 275, $ 280 deductible per year.
- 23:14Speaker 2: But no networks, no doctor approval, none of that nonsense
- 23:18Speaker 2: on standard Medicare.
- 23:19Speaker 13: Yeah, that's like I was told by the girl who
- 23:22Speaker 13: set me up, if I travel to Florida or I
- 23:25Speaker 13: go anywhere out.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Of state, You don't know. They may not take your
- 23:29Speaker 3: own advantage.
- 23:29Speaker 13: They may not accept that advantage where you're at, or
- 23:32Speaker 13: you might not be able to see this doctor or
- 23:33Speaker 13: that doctor. You're at their whim, not what you need.
- 23:36Speaker 1: You got it.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Well, you sound pretty sharp to me. You sound like
- 23:39Speaker 2: you're a pretty smart old-timer.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Thanks, Ron. I'm class of 76.
- 23:46Speaker 2: I know it well. We'll be right back.
- 23:48Speaker 1: News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 23:53Speaker 14: Columbus Humane took in six dogs over the weekend that
- 23:56Speaker 14: were brought up from Alabama to avoid Hurricane Isaias. They
- 24:00Speaker 14: arrived in Columbus on Saturday morning after being evacuated Friday night.
- 24:05Speaker 11: The dogs range in age from five months.
- 24:08Speaker 14: To five years old and will be put up for
- 24:10Speaker 14: adoption after clearing some medical testing.
- 24:12Speaker 11: Meantime, the man walking from L.A.
- 24:14Speaker 14: To Times Square while juggling is expected to be passing
- 24:18Speaker 14: through the Dayton area today. Noriah Guerin left from Los
- 24:22Speaker 14: Angeles over 130 days ago and is planning to be
- 24:25Speaker 14: at Times Square by November 21st.
- 24:27Speaker 11: He's sharing updates on his effort through Instagram.
- 24:30Speaker 14: In a sports update, the Guardians open the American League
- 24:33Speaker 14: Championship Series tonight in Tampa Bay against the Rays. First
- 24:36Speaker 14: pitch is scheduled for just after 8 p.m. I'm Daniel Barnard.

- 24:49Speaker 1: Free never sounded so good.
- 24:50Speaker 9: A to Z dependable services. Plumbing, septic, heating, cooling, and
- 24:55Speaker 9: one-day baths.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Traffic is up to speed and accident-free so far. On
- 24:59Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570, WKBN.
- 25:03Speaker 2: All right, back to it. News Radio 570 WKBN. He's
- 25:06Speaker 2: out of the bunker, and he's on location reporting for
- 25:09Speaker 2: the program. Here's G2 down somewhere by the Covelli Center. Hello, G2.
- 25:14Speaker 5: Hey, Ron, how are you this afternoon?
- 25:16Speaker 2: I am doing well. Tell me about what's going on
- 25:19Speaker 2: and what's happening.
- 25:20Speaker 5: I've got to tell you, man, the crowd is big.
- 25:23Speaker 5: People are streaming in. There's a huge amount of excitement.
- 25:27Speaker 5: It's like going back to a couple of years ago
- 25:30Speaker 5: when the rally tour was full strength all over the country.
- 25:33Speaker 5: So it's an exciting time. I'm glad to be here
- 25:37Speaker 5: inside Covelli Center watching this crowd build. The stage, of course,
- 25:41Speaker 5: is empty. There won't be anybody up there for a
- 25:43Speaker 5: couple of hours, but... But the crowd is streaming in.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Were you surprised, I don't know what time you arrived,
- 25:52Speaker 2: that so many people were already there? I mean, you know,
- 25:54Speaker 2: it's a long time between now and they say you'll
- 25:57Speaker 2: speak at 6 o'clock if it runs on time. I mean,
- 25:59Speaker 2: you've got people supposedly that were there early this morning,
- 26:02Speaker 2: and that's a long day.
- 26:04Speaker 5: Yeah, there were. I got here initially just before noon
- 26:08Speaker 5: and then, you know, to check in. And then I
- 26:10Speaker 5: left and came back around 3. So there were people.
- 26:14Speaker 5: There was a crowd here this morning. And then, of course,
- 26:17Speaker 5: by the time I got back, it was, you know,
- 26:21Speaker 5: the line is long. Moving fast, though, but long.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah, does it surprise you? I mean, you've got a
- 26:26Speaker 2: Monday afternoon. A lot of people are at work and
- 26:28Speaker 2: everything that so many people have. Well, of course, it's
- 26:30Speaker 2: Columbus Day, so some people are off, right? Isn't it
- 26:33Speaker 2: Columbus Day today?
- 26:35Speaker 5: It is, but I don't know that. Frankly, I've been traveling,
- 26:39Speaker 5: so I'm not sure.
- 26:39Speaker 1: What day it is.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Just so you know, it's October and it's Monday. I
- 26:44Speaker 2: know you've been traveling a lot, but wait a minute.
- 26:47Speaker 2: You're in Youngstown, Ohio, and it's a Monday, okay?
- 26:51Speaker 10: Thanks.
- 26:52Speaker 5: I'm much more grounded now.
- 26:55Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 26:57Speaker 5: But the truth is, I think there's so much going
- 27:00Speaker 5: on in the country and in the world. People are
- 27:02Speaker 5: anxious to... hear what it all means, hear from Trump, and, frankly,
- 27:08Speaker 5: to just connect again. Now, on the way here, I
- 27:11Speaker 5: also saw a lot of Democrat groups, you know, on
- 27:16Speaker 5: street corners at Market Street and whatever that other street
- 27:20Speaker 5: is downtown. I can't remember anymore. But there was a
- 27:24Speaker 5: big group of people right at the corners. You come
- 27:26Speaker 5: across the Market Street Bridge by the courthouse. And, you know,
- 27:30Speaker 5: they're over there with the vote blue and stuff. And
- 27:32Speaker 5: it was pretty interesting to see how many of them
- 27:35Speaker 5: came out. So I think you've got a lot of
- 27:37Speaker 5: passion on both sides of the political spectrum right now.
- 27:41Speaker 5: And the question is obviously going to come down to
- 27:43Speaker 5: what happens Tuesday, Tuesday the 3rd.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Yeah, which is really something. So the typical people that
- 27:51Speaker 2: want to stand out there and protest are there doing that.
- 27:55Speaker 2: I certainly want a nice crowd, a welcoming crowd for
- 27:58Speaker 2: President Trump to come to the community. Incidentally, which he
- 28:01Speaker 2: carried Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties in the last election.
- 28:06Speaker 5: Yeah, which is really remarkable given the history of the town.
- 28:08Speaker 5: And I will tell you, driving through town today, one
- 28:12Speaker 5: of the things I noticed, which was a little bit
- 28:14Speaker 5: dismaying to me, Although I guess, I don't know, I've
- 28:17Speaker 5: driven this road for many years, but coming down Market Street,
- 28:20Speaker 5: once you cross into really probably Indianola Road into that
- 28:26Speaker 5: section of Boardman and then into Youngstown, I was stunned
- 28:28Speaker 5: by the number of buildings that are empty or in disrepair.
- 28:34Speaker 5: I was surprised because it seems like there's more of that,
- 28:38Speaker 5: more small businesses driven out or moving away from that area.
- 28:42Speaker 5: And so it makes you wonder, after 70 years or
- 28:45Speaker 5: whatever it is of voting, for the policies that make
- 28:48Speaker 5: this community more impoverished, weaker, you've got to wonder at
- 28:52Speaker 5: what point people change. And then you come and look
- 28:54Speaker 5: at this crowd and you say, well, these are the
- 28:55Speaker 5: folks that are saying, we've had enough, we want a
- 28:58Speaker 5: new direction, and we refuse to let Youngstown and Mahoney
- 29:02Speaker 5: Valley sink any further.
- 29:04Speaker 3: So it's good.
- 29:05Speaker 5: But I will tell you, it is, you know, to say,
- 29:07Speaker 5: If you haven't driven in a while and you go
- 29:09Speaker 5: drive that from, say, Boardman down into Youngstown, It is
- 29:14Speaker 5: a shock to see how many businesses are closed, businesses
- 29:17Speaker 5: that were in operation for maybe a century.
- 29:20Speaker 2: The interesting thing, like we've talked on a program in
- 29:24Speaker 2: the past, is if you're upset because you say, well,
- 29:27Speaker 2: gas prices are this and diesel prices are this, okay,
- 29:30Speaker 2: they're high. But also keep in mind that if the
- 29:33Speaker 2: Democrats take over, they hate fossil fuels. And they make
- 29:38Speaker 2: it clear. And they don't want you drilling on federal
- 29:40Speaker 2: lands or offshore. If you think your fossil fuel energy
- 29:45Speaker 2: costs will be cheaper under Democrats, you're fooling yourself.
- 29:50Speaker 5: You really are, and all you have to do is
- 29:52Speaker 5: look at California for this. I mean, California, we've talked
- 29:54Speaker 5: about it several times, they've been reducing the availability of
- 29:58Speaker 5: refining capacity just simply by heaping on regulations and taxes
- 30:02Speaker 5: and burdens that have driven refineries out of the state
- 30:06Speaker 5: or caused them to shut down. They're still there, obviously,
- 30:08Speaker 5: they just don't pick up and leave, but they're idle
- 30:10Speaker 5: or converting them to biofuels, which really don't help quite
- 30:15Speaker 5: fly your jet plane, right? So now you've got $ 6. 15
- 30:18Speaker 5: gas refining out in California. Can you imagine if those
- 30:23Speaker 5: policies that have been implemented in California were, in fact,
- 30:25Speaker 5: taken nationwide? We'd have $ 7, $ 8 gas by now. It
- 30:29Speaker 5: would be a disaster. Now you look at what Trump
- 30:32Speaker 5: has done with Venezuela. That really sets us up for
- 30:34Speaker 5: a long-term win on the energy front, right? A win
- 30:38Speaker 5: that was going to China. He's now captured for the U.S.
- 30:41Speaker 5: And look, it's war, like it or not. So there's
- 30:44Speaker 5: some really good long-term plays coming here. The problem is,
- 30:48Speaker 5: of course... We see the bill we pay every time
- 30:50Speaker 5: we pull up to the pump, and that's what's causing
- 30:53Speaker 5: people to have such an emotional reaction.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I know you've been talking with Greg Bovino. People would
- 31:00Speaker 2: know him to see him. They might not recognize his name,
- 31:03Speaker 2: but they would know him if they would see him.
- 31:04Speaker 2: He was with the Border Patrol and the main spokesperson
- 31:08Speaker 2: for the Border Patrol. Tell me about the conversations with
- 31:11Speaker 2: the Bovino and what your thoughts were.
- 31:15Speaker 5: I've got to tell you, this guy is just a solid...
- 31:18Speaker 5: He's exactly who you want on the front lines defending
- 31:21Speaker 5: your country. And he understands what's going on. He understands
- 31:25Speaker 5: the whole story. Everything... I'll tell you what the conversation
- 31:28Speaker 5: was with him. Everything we talked about from trafficking children
- 31:31Speaker 5: to fentanyl to the importation of labor, every single thing
- 31:35Speaker 5: we talked about about the border over these last five years,
- 31:39Speaker 5: he confirmed. And we got into child trafficking a little bit.
- 31:42Speaker 5: And I'm telling you, I don't want to talk about
- 31:43Speaker 5: it now because, you know, it's too much.
- 31:47Speaker 3: But.
- 31:48Speaker 5: It is distressing to know that what we were saying
- 31:53Speaker 5: on the radio three, four, five years ago was true.
- 31:58Speaker 5: And hearing his frontline story, it's unnerving. But at the
- 32:02Speaker 5: same time, look, it's war, and we have to recognize
- 32:05Speaker 5: that we're here to defend this country. We either save
- 32:08Speaker 5: this thing or lose it. And, you know, a big
- 32:10Speaker 5: part of the attack on the country was throwing down
- 32:13Speaker 5: the borders, handing the cartels, the franchise to operate those
- 32:16Speaker 5: borders down, so they could bring in chemical weapons, labor,
- 32:19Speaker 5: and children. Along with, of course, we also talked about
- 32:23Speaker 5: the Chinese operatives, like the military people who were brought in.
- 32:26Speaker 5: And Bovino saw it all front and center. And, you know,
- 32:30Speaker 5: he was effective in fighting it, which is why he
- 32:32Speaker 5: was removed.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Including people that were coming here from China that, as
- 32:36Speaker 2: a wise man once said, you don't come from China
- 32:38Speaker 2: unless they allow it.
- 32:40Speaker 3: That's right.
- 32:40Speaker 5: And the fees. Now, you remember, we were talking about
- 32:43Speaker 5: the fees being like $ 20, 000 for the Chinese, maybe $ 2, 000
- 32:45Speaker 5: to $ 3, 000 for the Hondurans. That wasn't quite right. The
- 32:49Speaker 5: fees for the Chinese, in some cases, were much higher
- 32:51Speaker 5: than that. Who could afford to pay that? Chinese oligarchs
- 32:55Speaker 5: and the Chinese Communist Party. And that's it. So there
- 32:58Speaker 5: is zero question. We talked about Camp China. We talked
- 33:01Speaker 5: about the Darien Gap and the path along the Darien
- 33:05Speaker 5: Gap where they would put these these Chinese way stations
- 33:09Speaker 5: that only the Chinese could use, and it was a
- 33:11Speaker 5: steady stream of military-age Chinese operatives. So, you know, when
- 33:17Speaker 5: I use the phrase war, I'm not like using that lightly.
- 33:19Speaker 5: I'm not being flippant or trying to be provocative or hyperbolic.
- 33:24Speaker 5: It is real. When you're bringing tens of thousands of
- 33:27Speaker 5: a foreign country's military operatives into your nation, unchecked, with
- 33:31Speaker 5: the aid of your government, as we had for four years,
- 33:34Speaker 5: that's war. That's an invasion. Let's not kid ourselves because
- 33:38Speaker 5: it hasn't yet hit our house or our street or
- 33:40Speaker 5: our county. It's an invasion, and it's coming. And I
- 33:43Speaker 5: will tell you, if Donald Trump hadn't gotten elected in 2024,
- 33:46Speaker 5: the Mahoning Valley would already be transformed. Listen, I see
- 33:52Speaker 5: the economic problems in the valley I just talked about.
- 33:55Speaker 5: The answer isn't to bring in half of Yemen. The
- 33:58Speaker 5: answer isn't to bring in half of Nicaragua. That's not
- 34:03Speaker 5: the answer. The answer is to train American workers and
- 34:05Speaker 5: put in the policies that make it easier for local
- 34:09Speaker 5: and national businesses to locate you.
- 34:11Speaker 3: That's the play.
- 34:13Speaker 5: All these nonprofits run around spending government money on endless
- 34:16Speaker 5: analyses and studies that all seem to come up with
- 34:18Speaker 5: the same thing. Help them make money in real estate
- 34:21Speaker 5: by bringing in people the government pays for.
- 34:23Speaker 13: That's not the answer.
- 34:24Speaker 5: The answer is fix the problems that are preventing businesses
- 34:29Speaker 5: from thriving. And those problems are national, state, and local.
- 34:32Speaker 2: And a lot of times regulation and cutting regulations.
- 34:36Speaker 5: Yeah, and I, you know, it's so weird how people,
- 34:39Speaker 5: even like adults, have been programmed to think that reducing
- 34:42Speaker 5: regulations means somehow the nation's going to be clogged with waste,
- 34:45Speaker 5: like India, or is going to be overrun with bad
- 34:49Speaker 5: actors like the cartels in Mexico. You know, that's not
- 34:54Speaker 5: what it means. What we've done is put on such
- 34:57Speaker 5: a regulatory burden that we are strangling the businesses that
- 35:01Speaker 5: used to populate that Market Street corridor to the point
- 35:04Speaker 5: that that corridor is now basically hollowed out, right? It's
- 35:08Speaker 5: a perfect image of what has been the result of
- 35:11Speaker 5: 30 years of policy. That's what we see when we
- 35:14Speaker 5: drive that Market Street corridor. Now, Trump's had 18 months
- 35:17Speaker 5: in the second term, 18 months to turn this around.
- 35:20Speaker 5: I don't know how to break it to you. It
- 35:22Speaker 5: takes longer than 18 months, especially when the Republicans in
- 35:25Speaker 5: Congress refuse to cooperate.
- 35:28Speaker 2: You even have people that are upset, saying legally he
- 35:33Speaker 2: can't enter into this deal with Russia when it comes
- 35:35Speaker 2: to diesel to keep our diesel prices down, and they're
- 35:38Speaker 2: trying to prevent that from happening, which would be detrimental
- 35:41Speaker 2: to our economy.
- 35:43Speaker 5: Yeah, but you know and I know they don't care
- 35:44Speaker 5: about the economy. They care about the midterms. And if
- 35:47Speaker 5: he is able to strike a deal that brings any
- 35:50Speaker 5: relief on the fuel front, then that's going to be
- 35:53Speaker 5: a problem for the Democrats. I'll tell you what, it
- 35:56Speaker 5: was fascinating. I was driving around the city today, and
- 35:59Speaker 5: I saw these billboards with Sherrod Brown on them. And
- 36:02Speaker 5: in one of them, I mean, to many people this
- 36:05Speaker 5: would be funny, but he's got an ad up talking
- 36:08Speaker 5: about inflation and the cost of groceries. Now, that guy
- 36:11Speaker 5: sat in Congress for, what, 35 years in the Senate? Yeah.
- 36:15Speaker 5: His policies created that problem.
- 36:18Speaker 3: And now what?
- 36:19Speaker 5: We're going to put him back in? Because I guess
- 36:21Speaker 5: the message is, Those prices aren't high enough. We need
- 36:24Speaker 5: him back in office to create more inflation and drive
- 36:26Speaker 5: them higher.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Well, he voted for all this Biden nonsense overwhelmingly. So
- 36:32Speaker 2: if you want to go back to the open border
- 36:34Speaker 2: and all this nonsense, vote Sherrod Brown. Exactly.
- 36:39Speaker 5: That's exactly it. Now, you know, you had a great
- 36:41Speaker 5: caller a couple of weeks ago that called in and
- 36:43Speaker 5: mentioned when I was on with you, mentioned that he
- 36:46Speaker 5: had voted against NAFTA and he voted for Trump's trade deal.
- 36:50Speaker 5: So in 35 years, that's two good votes. And I
- 36:52Speaker 5: think we should celebrate those two votes. It's the 30
- 36:55Speaker 5: years of votes between those two that have been the problem, right?
- 37:00Speaker 5: It's all of those policies that resulted in this influx
- 37:04Speaker 5: of people and all the problems in our education system.
- 37:07Speaker 5: That guy was in Congress for 30 years, and he's
- 37:10Speaker 5: now saying, hey, elect me to Congress, this Senate. You know, Congress,
- 37:13Speaker 5: as you know, is two chambers. I know people say
- 37:15Speaker 5: Congress thing now. He was in the Senate for 30 years.
- 37:18Speaker 5: And now he's saying, hey, if you just elect me
- 37:20Speaker 5: back to the Senate, I'm going to fix everything I
- 37:22Speaker 5: did in three decades of public service. I don't get
- 37:25Speaker 5: the logic of that. That said, I'll bet those billboards
- 37:29Speaker 5: are effective to people who are just getting that three-second
- 37:31Speaker 5: message and not really thinking.
- 37:33Speaker 2: I know in addition to talking with Greg Bovino, you
- 37:38Speaker 2: were talking with E.J. Antone. How do you say it?
- 37:42Speaker 6: E.J.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Antone.
- 37:43Speaker 5: Antone, yeah.
- 37:45Speaker 2: And what's his take on what's going on?
- 37:48Speaker 5: You know, the beautiful thing about talking to E.J. is
- 37:51Speaker 5: that while he's a Ph.D. in economics, and, you know,
- 37:53Speaker 5: he's like, this dude is a smart guy. He can
- 37:58Speaker 5: bring things down to a level that all of us
- 38:00Speaker 5: can understand it, and that's extremely valuable. Because, as you know,
- 38:03Speaker 5: many Ph.D.s just speak in technobabble, not this guy. So
- 38:07Speaker 5: we got into this debate about capitalism and communism, or
- 38:11Speaker 5: capitalism and socialism. Do we still have a capital system? And, again,
- 38:15Speaker 5: here's the problem. When you look at health care, you say,
- 38:17Speaker 5: look at our health care costs. People say, well, then
- 38:19Speaker 5: we need to go to single-payer, full government control. Well,
- 38:23Speaker 5: it turns out the reason we have a problem in
- 38:25Speaker 5: health care is because we have too much government in it,
- 38:27Speaker 5: not that it's too little government. So the conclusion is,
- 38:32Speaker 5: and it's crystal clear, we've lost our capitalist system. We
- 38:36Speaker 5: need to get it back. We need to get back
- 38:38Speaker 5: a system where you can be prosperous and you can
- 38:41Speaker 5: have financial independence if you go out and start a
- 38:43Speaker 5: business and are able to be successful, where that isn't
- 38:45Speaker 5: just simply... unavailable to you because regulations and government spending
- 38:50Speaker 5: decide everything. So it was a great discussion with E.J.,
- 38:54Speaker 5: who I have tremendous respect for.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Absolutely. All right. As you look around down at the
- 39:00Speaker 2: Covelli Center, any of the national media showing up?
- 39:04Speaker 5: Yeah, the press deck is full. There are a lot
- 39:07Speaker 5: of cameras up there. I've seen Channel 21. I don't
- 39:11Speaker 5: know everybody that's here. I know that MS Now is here,
- 39:14Speaker 5: hoping for that that clip that they can twist into
- 39:17Speaker 5: a nasty comment. So, you know, the Marxists are on site, but,
- 39:24Speaker 5: you know, the globalist cabal hard at work. But, yeah,
- 39:31Speaker 5: so there's some national media here. The press deck is full, and,
- 39:36Speaker 5: you know, it's going to be interesting to see what
- 39:38Speaker 5: kind of coverage they bring out of this. This discussion
- 39:40Speaker 5: about the Russian and Ukrainian ceasefire on energy infrastructure that–
- 39:47Speaker 5: you know, that I'm starting to hear a bunch about.
- 39:49Speaker 5: It'll be interesting to see what he says about that tonight.
- 39:52Speaker 5: And so I think this is actually going to be
- 39:55Speaker 5: a fascinating Trump rally. I mean, there are always a
- 39:59Speaker 5: lot of really important issues, but we have so many
- 40:01Speaker 5: things right now that are right at the forefront of
- 40:04Speaker 5: what's critical. It's going to be an interesting night.
- 40:08Speaker 2: I know that I was reading here a Ukraine drone
- 40:10Speaker 2: attacks report. targeted at a data center run by yandex
- 40:16Speaker 2: i guess that's the russian version of google uh... causing
- 40:19Speaker 2: outages across there seems to me ukraine's gone further and
- 40:22Speaker 2: further on stuff inside russia seems like an escalation doesn't
- 40:27Speaker 2: it well.
- 40:28Speaker 5: It is an escalation and here's the thing you know
- 40:30Speaker 5: like the targeting the base where the targeting is done
- 40:33Speaker 5: to attack russia that's inside nato countries so while ukraine
- 40:37Speaker 5: can attack you know when i say ukraine of course
- 40:40Speaker 5: it's nato ukraine can attack you know its left foot
- 40:42Speaker 5: I don't mean to be dismissive of Ukraine. What's happened
- 40:45Speaker 5: to them is tragic, and I find it horrifying. But
- 40:48Speaker 5: the truth is it doesn't have the capability to do
- 40:50Speaker 5: what it's doing. It is NATO that is doing those things.
- 40:53Speaker 5: So when you look at their ability to reach deep into— oh,
- 40:57Speaker 5: here's Vivek Ramaswamy coming by.
- 41:00Speaker 2: All right. Well, we can't but— go ahead.
- 41:02Speaker 5: No, no. But when you look at the ability for
- 41:05Speaker 5: them to attack deep inside the— deep inside Russian territory,
- 41:10Speaker 5: Russia cannot counterattack because NATO's assets are back inside Poland
- 41:15Speaker 5: or other NATO countries in many cases. I mean, they
- 41:17Speaker 5: can hit some things in Ukraine, but they can't get
- 41:19Speaker 5: back into those NATO countries. So in that way, I
- 41:23Speaker 5: think that's one of the reasons why NATO is still
- 41:25Speaker 5: keeping the fight going. If it was wholly dependent upon
- 41:28Speaker 5: Ukrainian territory, it would be different. But Russia so far
- 41:32Speaker 5: has refused to attack those targeting centers and, look, You know,
- 41:37Speaker 5: when I talk about NATO, we think NATO's our friend.
- 41:40Speaker 5: It's not the friend of the people in Europe. It's
- 41:42Speaker 5: not the friend of the American people. It is a
- 41:44Speaker 5: globalist-controlled asset that is running this war for them.
- 41:48Speaker 2: I tell you what, check in at 4.30 again with
- 41:51Speaker 2: another report. Thank you, G2.
- 41:52Speaker 5: I'll give you a shout.
- 41:54Speaker 6: Bye-bye.
- 42:02Speaker 2: At the Covelli Center and with President Trump coming to
- 42:06Speaker 2: town at 6 o'clock. So about two hours from now
- 42:12Speaker 2: as we approach 4 o'clock here, coming to our neck
- 42:15Speaker 2: of the woods at the Covelli Center at 6 o'clock tonight.
- 42:18Speaker 2: And to really encourage, obviously, people to vote for John Husted, obviously,
- 42:26Speaker 2: and the Republicans. I'm sure Ramaswamy and Husted. will be
- 42:29Speaker 2: what he will be talking about. In addition to, what
- 42:32Speaker 2: did he say when he started going into this? Basically,
- 42:35Speaker 2: he said, listen, I'm not on the ballot. I'm not running,
- 42:39Speaker 2: but I'm going to be out there encouraging people to
- 42:41Speaker 2: vote for people that can help me get my job done.
- 42:44Speaker 2: And that obviously wouldn't be the Democrats. And they say
- 42:48Speaker 2: Ohio is one of those states that's in play with
- 42:50Speaker 2: Sherrod Brown having a lead over John Husted. They always say, what,
- 42:55Speaker 2: Ohio is a red state? And is it? I mean,
- 42:59Speaker 2: you'll find this much. You'll find that this community, the
- 43:03Speaker 2: one in which we live, the one in which we
- 43:05Speaker 2: call home, is one of the most vital communities in
- 43:09Speaker 2: the state of Ohio on determining who wins and who loses.
- 43:14Speaker 2: It is this community that matters most. And like I
- 43:19Speaker 2: say to each and every one of you, The Democrats,
- 43:23Speaker 2: they hate fossil fuels and they say it. They're not
- 43:26Speaker 2: hiding it. They're against the regulation, put the regulations so
- 43:30Speaker 2: that you can't drill on federal lands and offshore. And
- 43:33Speaker 2: they just despise fossil fuels. So I don't think your
- 43:36Speaker 2: prices are going to get better under them. It'd be
- 43:38Speaker 2: worse under them as opposed to. Trump and the Republicans,
- 43:42Speaker 2: certainly their energy policies are more favorable for us. Obviously,
- 43:46Speaker 2: there's a snag right now with the situation in Ukraine.
- 43:49Speaker 2: But as I say to you each and every day
- 43:51Speaker 2: on this, I'm not crazy about the Ukraine war, but
- 43:54Speaker 2: I don't know what Rubio and what Trump know. I
- 43:59Speaker 2: just don't know what those guys know. And they certainly
- 44:04Speaker 2: are more in tune with what's going on than the
- 44:07Speaker 2: rest of us. We can all have opinions, but that's
- 44:10Speaker 2: That's neither here nor there. So anyway, perhaps he'll talk
- 44:14Speaker 2: about that and the situation goes on. Where was it?
- 44:19Speaker 2: On one of these things that I was reading over
- 44:21Speaker 2: the weekends, one of the parents, one of the guys
- 44:25Speaker 2: out of Iran was saying that basically they've reached an
- 44:31Speaker 2: agreement that there wouldn't be any nuclear weapons in Iran
- 44:35Speaker 2: or they– the dust, as they talk all about all
- 44:41Speaker 2: the time, to make nuclear weapons. One of the fellows
- 44:45Speaker 2: out of Iran said that part has pretty well been negotiated.
- 44:49Speaker 2: So it looks like some progress is being made, we
- 44:52Speaker 2: can only hope for a change, to reach an agreement,
- 44:56Speaker 2: and a good agreement, and then put this to bed
- 44:59Speaker 2: and move on. Hopefully that'll be the situation. Comments, we
- 45:03Speaker 2: take your calls till 6-3-3-0-7-2-9-99-77. Ron Verp from the Kingdom

- 45:28Speaker 18: On Lisa Brady, Fox News.
- 45:29Speaker 17: Saudi officials confirming they intercepted an incoming ballistic missile today
- 45:34Speaker 17: after two deadly strikes over the weekend by Iran-backed Houthi
- 45:37Speaker 17: rebels on the international airport in the capital, Riyadh. Killing
- 45:41Speaker 17: at least 14 people, including one American, wounding hundreds more.
- 45:45Speaker 19: This comes as Houthi rebels are now issuing a direct
- 45:48Speaker 19: warning to foreign airlines against using Saudi airspace or airports
- 45:53Speaker 19: inside the kingdom. The strikes against the airport and energy
- 45:56Speaker 19: infrastructure in the south raise questions about if the United
- 45:59Speaker 19: States could come to the defense of Saudi Arabia. and
- 46:01Speaker 19: launched a new round of strikes against this Iranian proxy group.

- 46:20Speaker 17: is pausing tree-cutting at the historic East Potomac Golf Course
- 46:23Speaker 17: in D.C., accusing government lawyers of deceiving the court about
- 46:27Speaker 17: ongoing renovations.
- 46:28Speaker 20: President Trump has announced plans to convert the public course
- 46:31Speaker 20: into a championship-level venue. Hundreds of trees have been removed.
- 46:35Speaker 20: Judge Ana Reyes ordered the tree cutting halted for at
- 46:38Speaker 20: least 24 hours and threatened to extend the order another
- 46:42Speaker 20: two weeks. The judge has previously required a preservationist group
- 46:46Speaker 20: be notified immediately before major work is done in the
- 46:49Speaker 20: golf course is part of a legal challenge.
- 46:51Speaker 18: Fox's Jared Halpern at the White House.
- 46:53Speaker 17: The Trump administration argues the tree removal is routine maintenance

- 48:36Speaker 2: It's 4.05, welcome to a Monday afternoon, October 12th, 73 degrees.
- 48:40Speaker 2: It is just a picture-perfect day out there, temperature-wise. It's
- 48:44Speaker 2: just a gorgeous day, to say the least. Uh, you're
- 48:47Speaker 2: on the air.
- 48:47Speaker 21: How you doing, Ron?
- 48:49Speaker 2: Good, it's J.J. the Trumpster.
- 48:52Speaker 21: How are you doing?
- 48:53Speaker 1: Good.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Your man's coming to town today.
- 48:56Speaker 21: Yeah, actually, I'm cooking him dinner. I'm going to see
- 48:58Speaker 21: if he'll swing by the house.
- 49:01Speaker 2: More than likely, he might be.
- 49:04Speaker 21: And see if he's interested. I'm making him a nice
- 49:07Speaker 21: steak and baked potato, and I'm hoping he'll swing by.
- 49:12Speaker 21: I talked to him a little bit ago, you know, briefly.
- 49:16Speaker 3: Did he do it?
- 49:16Speaker 21: I know he's a busy guy, but I'm just hoping
- 49:18Speaker 21: he'll find the time.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Yeah, swing on by J.J. Manor for a steak and
- 49:23Speaker 2: a baked potato.
- 49:25Speaker 21: Yep, and a Diet Coke. So he's all set. I
- 49:29Speaker 21: got everything laid out for him, and we'll see if
- 49:32Speaker 21: he wants to swing by.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Now, if he would swing by, though, would you put
- 49:37Speaker 2: the heat on him saying, listen, I'm more than happy
- 49:38Speaker 2: to vote for you and a Republican ticket, but I
- 49:41Speaker 2: need guarantees of getting the $ 5, 000 check?
- 49:45Speaker 21: Well, I'm hoping to bring his checkbook with him. So
- 49:47Speaker 21: that's where I'm, my intentions is to kind of slowly
- 49:50Speaker 21: work my way, you know, as, uh, as he's finishing
- 49:53Speaker 21: up his plate, you know, I can say, you know,
- 49:54Speaker 21: actually I do have a chocolate, a nice slice of
- 49:57Speaker 21: chocolate cake, uh, to kind of, uh, you know, finalize everything.
- 50:03Speaker 21: So hopefully he'll, um, he'll, uh, he'll pick me up
- 50:06Speaker 21: on my offer and, uh, And, you know, he's going
- 50:08Speaker 21: to bring, hopefully, a couple of signs I can throw
- 50:10Speaker 21: at the front lawn there for the Republicans. And we'll
- 50:16Speaker 21: see what happens.
- 50:17Speaker 3: I'm trying.
- 50:18Speaker 21: I'm trying. I'm working the magic there, Ron. I'm doing
- 50:21Speaker 21: the best I can here.
- 50:25Speaker 2: You're hoping he'll bring a couple of signs by that
- 50:28Speaker 2: you can throw in the front yard.
- 50:30Speaker 21: Yeah, so we'll go tuck him in the front lawn there,
- 50:33Speaker 21: and I can, he said he was going to also,
- 50:36Speaker 21: which I'm, you know, hopefully, because I've lost two of
- 50:38Speaker 21: them already, I want that Trump 2028 hat. So I'm
- 50:42Speaker 21: hoping he'll bring a little extra, and my wife's not
- 50:46Speaker 21: talking to me right now, so she's kind of ready
- 50:50Speaker 21: to go.
- 50:50Speaker 2: She'll come around a loving J.J. the Trumpster.
- 50:53Speaker 21: Yeah, well, we'll see. Hey, listen, one other thing I
- 50:56Speaker 21: was wondering, could you put me back on hold? I
- 50:58Speaker 21: want to give you some news.
- 51:00Speaker 3: Yes.
- 51:02Speaker 1: Yes, I can.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Yes, I can, but you'll have to.
- 51:05Speaker 21: I've got to turn the stake over.
- 51:07Speaker 13: Put me on hold.
- 51:08Speaker 21: I'll talk to you in a.
- 51:09Speaker 2: Little bit, buddy. Yeah, about 423. Just hang on, okay?
- 51:11Speaker 2: I'll get back to you. All right. Get back to him.
- 51:14Speaker 2: You're on the air.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Ronnie.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Oh, listen, it's... The unknown caller, folks. The unknown caller.
- 51:22Speaker 2: He calls with a bag over his head like the
- 51:24Speaker 2: unknown comic.
- 51:26Speaker 22: Ron, I'm glad you survived the Hurricane Isaisis, or ABCDFG, whatever.
- 51:32Speaker 12: They call it.
- 51:33Speaker 2: Yeah, what's up with those names anymore? Can we go
- 51:36Speaker 2: back to just the standard? Remember when they just named
- 51:38Speaker 2: the hurricanes after women, and then somehow that had to change, and, well,
- 51:42Speaker 2: we've got to name them after women and men. Then
- 51:45Speaker 2: it had to be all these crazy names that no
- 51:46Speaker 2: one can pronounce. I mean, what, you know, Hurricane Francis,
- 51:52Speaker 2: you know, Hurricane Debbie. I mean, what happened to the
- 51:54Speaker 2: good old days?
- 51:56Speaker 12: Yeah, like men are the problem, right?
- 51:58Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 51:59Speaker 22: Hey, how about Jose's golf swing Saturday night?
- 52:06Speaker 2: Absolutely unbelievable.
- 52:08Speaker 3: Right.
- 52:09Speaker 2: I mean, he is the heart and soul of, of
- 52:12Speaker 2: the guardians. He is just, he's art and soul. And he's,
- 52:16Speaker 2: I mean, he just makes all the difference in the world,
- 52:19Speaker 2: but I'll tell you something. I was just sweating that
- 52:21Speaker 2: whole game out because obviously it was two to two
- 52:25Speaker 2: to nothing. And it ended that way because you're just
- 52:28Speaker 2: sitting there thinking, man, you're hoping that they could get
- 52:31Speaker 2: some insurance runs. Let's put it that way, but not
- 52:34Speaker 2: the case.
- 52:35Speaker 22: Well, The White Sox had, like, bases loaded, and I
- 52:41Speaker 22: don't know, it was like sixth inning or something like that,
- 52:44Speaker 22: bases loaded, but then they called a relief pitcher. He
- 52:47Speaker 22: got the last out. Yeah, that was a little bit terrifying.
- 52:52Speaker 22: My son, I was watching with my son, and he
- 52:55Speaker 22: noticed something. He said, why aren't they wearing white socks?
- 52:59Speaker 22: They're the White Sox.
- 53:01Speaker 12: The guy had black socks on him.
- 53:04Speaker 2: I had heard that you're– how old's your son?
- 53:10Speaker 12: 39, 38.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I understand he was watching it with you and
- 53:13Speaker 2: the game was getting good. But at some point your
- 53:15Speaker 2: son got up and said, Dad, I got to go.
- 53:18Speaker 2: Is that true?
- 53:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:21Speaker 12: Yeah, absolutely.
- 53:25Speaker 2: But what a game. I mean, now do you think
- 53:28Speaker 2: it's going to be more challenging in this series?
- 53:32Speaker 12: Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 53:33Speaker 22: I mean, as my son and my son-in-law said, that
- 53:39Speaker 22: was our World Series right there.
- 53:42Speaker 12: We're not getting past anybody else.
- 53:45Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 53:46Speaker 22: Hopefully, I mean, we were down two, came back one,
- 53:51Speaker 22: three in a row.
- 53:52Speaker 2: Can you believe that, though? I mean, the odds of
- 53:54Speaker 2: that are like slim and none, you know? Right. And
- 53:58Speaker 2: to be able to pull that off... It was just spectacular.
- 54:03Speaker 2: But now Tampa Bay is a pretty good team. But
- 54:07Speaker 2: anything is possible. That's the great thing about watching sports.
- 54:11Speaker 2: I mean, even with the Browns' defeat on Sunday, you
- 54:14Speaker 2: still could sit there thinking up until things kind of
- 54:20Speaker 2: went south due to the weather that they could pull
- 54:23Speaker 2: it out. But, I mean, what a weekend. I mean, YSU, man,
- 54:28Speaker 2: what a killing they did. I mean, just a huge
- 54:30Speaker 2: win for them. And then you had the Guardians win
- 54:32Speaker 2: that series. And I think everybody was surprised, like you said,
- 54:35Speaker 2: because you were down 2-0, and you came back from that.
- 54:39Speaker 2: That's just incredible. And then the Browns, well, everyone's playing
- 54:46Speaker 2: in the same weather.
- 54:47Speaker 12: There's always next year with the Browns, right?
- 54:49Speaker 2: No, I'm not throwing a towel in yet. I'm not yet.
- 54:54Speaker 22: I didn't think they'd have three wins at this point.
- 54:57Speaker 12: But, hey....
- 54:59Speaker 22: You'd ask G2 if the room is filled with people
- 55:05Speaker 22: wearing Trump King crowns. You know, that'd be cool if
- 55:09Speaker 22: everybody wore a crown.
- 55:10Speaker 2: Like from Burger King.
- 55:13Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah.
- 55:14Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, exactly.
- 55:16Speaker 22: Hey, yeah, the guy that, you know, went to the
- 55:18Speaker 22: New King, was he going to be one of your
- 55:21Speaker 22: cub reporters, too, or no?
- 55:24Speaker 6: Well.
- 55:25Speaker 2: We had to reassess that situation. Just G2 came out
- 55:33Speaker 2: of the bunker. He traveled from a distant area and
- 55:39Speaker 2: is doing the coverage live from the Covelli Center for
- 55:42Speaker 2: us today.
- 55:44Speaker 22: So if you see somebody like a seven-foot ghillie suit guy,
- 55:50Speaker 22: that's him?
- 55:51Speaker 2: Well, in that case, it might be somebody in a
- 55:53Speaker 2: Secret Service. But I suspect you would see somebody formally
- 56:01Speaker 2: dressed if I had to make a bet. I think
- 56:04Speaker 2: you would see somebody more than likely in a sports
- 56:07Speaker 2: coat and dress pants.
- 56:11Speaker 22: Hey, I want to get back to the Krista Pike thing.
- 56:16Speaker 22: The woman, you know, that.
- 56:20Speaker 6: Her.
- 56:21Speaker 12: Execution didn't go well?
- 56:23Speaker 13: Yes.
- 56:24Speaker 12: Why didn't they just bleed out?
- 56:26Speaker 22: Did you ever hear why she's in jail? Nobody reports it.
- 56:32Speaker 2: She did a brutal murder.
- 56:35Speaker 22: Yeah, she dragged her and her boyfriend, lured some woman
- 56:39Speaker 22: into the woods, and then.
- 56:42Speaker 12: They tortured her.
- 56:43Speaker 22: They carved a pentagram or something into her chest, and
- 56:48Speaker 22: then Krista.
- 56:52Speaker 22: Beat her to death with a rock, smashed her skull
- 56:55Speaker 22: with a rock.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Yeah, think how painful.
- 56:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:59Speaker 22: But, I mean, they didn't report that. This is news.
- 57:02Speaker 22: Why don't they report the heinous crime that she committed? Plus,
- 57:06Speaker 22: I heard that she also killed someone else while she
- 57:09Speaker 22: was in jail. And just let her bleed out at
- 57:12Speaker 22: that time, you know?
- 57:14Speaker 2: You know, I'm with you 100%. I don't sit around
- 57:18Speaker 2: with a lot of sympathy for her surviving this– The
- 57:23Speaker 2: first thing is, when we're talking about getting these drugs
- 57:26Speaker 2: and everything, why don't we just give them an overdose
- 57:28Speaker 2: like happens on the street? I mean, why don't we
- 57:31Speaker 2: just get the good old-fashioned street drugs and let them
- 57:34Speaker 2: OD as you would on the street with some fentanyl
- 57:38Speaker 2: and that kind of stuff and be done with this stuff?
- 57:41Speaker 2: I mean, the fact that she survived this is deeply
- 57:44Speaker 2: disturbing to me. I mean, it's just... It's bizarre. Did
- 57:48Speaker 2: you see over the, well, the last couple days ago,
- 57:52Speaker 2: imagine this, folks. In my community of Austintown Township, you
- 57:57Speaker 2: had an adult son stab to death his father. Did
- 58:06Speaker 2: you see this news story? I mean, it's hard to
- 58:09Speaker 2: fathom the.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Father, they lived in Yorktown, and the kid went over
- 58:18Speaker 2: and stabbed his father in a brutal murder to death.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Stabbed him to death. You're his son. What the hell
- 58:27Speaker 2: is going on there?
- 58:28Speaker 9: Right.
- 58:30Speaker 22: I mean, you know, was it something he learned in school?
- 58:34Speaker 12: You know, something he was taught in school?
- 58:36Speaker 2: This wasn't a young kid. You know, this was an
- 58:39Speaker 2: adult male. But I'm sitting back thinking, this is your father.
- 58:45Speaker 2: This is your father that put a roof over you,
- 58:48Speaker 2: paid the bills and all that kind of stuff when
- 58:50Speaker 2: you were a little kid, and you're stabbing. I don't
- 58:55Speaker 2: know what to make of something like that. I don't know. Obviously,
- 58:58Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, I would like to know
- 59:01Speaker 2: what exactly was your motive. I mean, are you hooked
- 59:04Speaker 2: on drugs? Are you stoned? Are you high? Are you,
- 59:08Speaker 2: obviously you got some type of psychological issue because how
- 59:11Speaker 2: can anybody in their right mind do such a thing?
- 59:13Speaker 2: I mean, what a brutal murder he committed of his
- 59:16Speaker 2: own father. Then goes down to St. He's covered in
- 59:19Speaker 2: blood and basically admits what he did. So the father's
- 59:23Speaker 2: dead and the son's going to be locked up in
- 59:26Speaker 2: jail for now. What was the point? Did you follow
- 59:31Speaker 2: that at all? I mean, it is a brutal murder.
- 59:34Speaker 2: But that's the part of me, Unknown Caller, that I
- 59:37Speaker 2: always say. And I'm glad you brought it up. It's
- 59:41Speaker 2: like some of these people, the murders that they do
- 59:44Speaker 2: are so painful and so brutal. I'm not going to
- 59:47Speaker 2: have sympathy. The dark side of me says, let's put
- 59:50Speaker 2: them to death how they did their victim. Let's do
- 59:55Speaker 2: the same thing to them that they did to the
- 59:58Speaker 2: to the victim that they did, like when that guy
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: cut that woman's throat on the subway and she was
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: from the Ukraine and she was bleeding to death. Well,
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: let's sentence him to death and do the same thing
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: so he knows the living hell she went through as
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: her blood pumped out of her body. Or let's take
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: this woman that survived the death penalty and let's beat
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: her to death with a rock like she did her
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: victim so that these people understand what they've done. I mean,
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: I have zero sympathy for I mean, if.
- 1:00:26Speaker 22: The execution doesn't go right and it takes three days, well,
- 1:00:30Speaker 22: it takes three days. You killed somebody brutally, and this
- 1:00:35Speaker 22: is the way you're dying.
- 1:00:36Speaker 12: I'm sorry.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Right, and they suffered tremendously on how you killed them.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:44Speaker 12: How about Ilhan Omar?
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: I couldn't be happier. Can you?
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 1:00:51Speaker 8: I know.
- 1:00:51Speaker 22: Well, it's just.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: I could not be... Just explain to our people. Oh,
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: of course, it's political. Everything with her is political. But
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: just so people know, you've got Ilhan Omar responds after
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: feds descend on a D.C. home. I'm in immigration fraud investigation. And,
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: of course.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: It's just, it's all political.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: I mean, I think it's, you know what I think
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: it is? Long overdue, don't you?
- 1:01:28Speaker 12: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 1:01:29Speaker 22: I mean, and she's running again, I think, for election, like,
- 1:01:33Speaker 22: you know, next couple, three weeks or whatever.
- 1:01:36Speaker 23: So, yeah.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:41Speaker 12: Well, two more things, all right?
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Two more things, all right?
- 1:01:45Speaker 22: Probably like a month ago, some sweet lady called in
- 1:01:48Speaker 22: and the line went dead, and immediately you said, call
- 1:01:52Speaker 22: me back. But she's not going to know that you
- 1:01:56Speaker 22: said that. You've got to give her a couple minutes
- 1:01:59Speaker 22: to get back to the radio and then say, hey,
- 1:02:03Speaker 22: by the way, I'm sorry I hung up on you.
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: Call me back.
- 1:02:07Speaker 22: Have some, you know, I don't know.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: Yeah, actually, that's a good point because you're saying we
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: should have to turn the radio back up to hear that.
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:02:19Speaker 12: Hey, one more thing, Ronnie.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: What could that be?
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: What?
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: What did you say?
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: I got to go.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: What?
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: I got to go.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: What?
- 1:02:25Speaker 12: I said I got to go.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Where you got to go?
- 1:02:27Speaker 22: I said you need new hearing aid batteries.
- 1:02:32Speaker 12: I got to go.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: He's always got to go. Where's he got to go?
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: He calls the program, he's making good points, and he's
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: always got to go. What does he got to go do?
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: I got to go. Go do what? What's so important
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: that you got to go all the time? I just
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: don't understand it. The home of Representative Ilhan Omar was
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: raided early Monday morning by Homeland Security. Multiple federal agents
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: with HSI jackets— that' s Homeland Security— were seen outside Omar's Washington, D.C.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: home in the early hours of Monday. Two sources close
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: to the investigation say the search stems from a criminal
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman's immigration paperwork, which was
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: filled out by her late father when she was a child.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: Omar responded to the raid on X, slamming it as
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: a way for President Trump to target political enemies with
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: baseless lies and insisted, I will not be silenced. The
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: raid of the Somalian-born congresswoman's home started around 6 a.m.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: with HSI and Department of Homeland Security leading the operation.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Today in Washington, D.C. area, Homeland Security investigations executed a
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: judicially authorized search warrant secured by DOJ. This enforcement action
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: is part of an ongoing federal investigation. The DOJ later
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: added that the investigation was criminal in nature. HSI is
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: a principal investigative arm of DHS. Its scope includes investigating
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: cross-border crime and global threats, including human trafficking and child
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: sexual exploitation, drug smuggling, and cybercrime. HSI plays a major
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: frontline role in America's counterterrorism operations. Spokesperson for Omar did
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comments. The
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: White House and DHS spokesperson declined to provide comments. I'm okay, Omar. Oh,
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: thank God. Omar wrote, she's okay on X. Make no mistake,
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: the federal law enforcement. If anybody's been weaponized by federal
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: law enforcement, it's been Trump for 10 years. Trump has
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: just the latest in his campaign of political intimidation. I
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: will not be silenced. In opposed to former government X accounts.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: Just after 1.30 p.m., Omar elaborated, this raid by Trump's
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: DHS is an outrageous abuse of power. Okay, supposedly, she says.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Targeting political enemies. What else
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: is she saying? President Trump borders are, Tom. Holman said
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: in mid-September that the progressive congresswoman was subject to an
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: ongoing criminal investigation, but did not specify the nature of
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: the probe. She's been under fire for months and forced
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: controversies during her time in Congress. Wonder where this will head.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Should be interesting. Hi there, this is Dan Rivers for
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: San Pinsulo Homes and Remodeling. There you go, Ron Furb,
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: NewsRadio 570 WKBN, and you're on the air.
- 1:05:47Speaker 24: Hey, Ron.
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: How you doing?
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: Oh, it's Emmanuel. I thought you'd be down at the
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: Trump rally.
- 1:05:52Speaker 25: I don't think about going, but there's something. I've been
- 1:05:55Speaker 25: wanting to talk to you guys for a long time, right?
- 1:05:59Speaker 25: And to explain to you guys just why nobody listens
- 1:06:01Speaker 25: to what you say and why everybody thinks you guys
- 1:06:05Speaker 25: are crazy and why nobody wants you to come to
- 1:06:07Speaker 25: their cookouts, their family meetings, or nothing.
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: I'm going to tell you why.
- 1:06:10Speaker 12: It's plain and simple, Ron.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:06:12Speaker 25: I'm going to tell you why you guys are totally,
- 1:06:15Speaker 25: totally crazy.
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: Totally insane.
- 1:06:19Speaker 25: Ron, now all the people that are going down there,
- 1:06:22Speaker 25: and I'm going to ask G2 next time I get
- 1:06:24Speaker 25: a chance to talk to him, right? All you got
- 1:06:27Speaker 25: to do is look at our president from behind and
- 1:06:29Speaker 25: see that this man is wearing a diaper. Now, you
- 1:06:32Speaker 25: can't sit up there and tell me he's not wearing
- 1:06:33Speaker 25: a diaper. Now, if Biden was wearing a diaper, what
- 1:06:36Speaker 25: would y'all be saying?
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: Why do you think he's wearing a diaper?
- 1:06:41Speaker 25: Well, if you can't see it, Ron, then that's just
- 1:06:43Speaker 25: that Trump derangement syndrome you guys get.
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: All you got to do is look at him and see.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: The man's wearing a diaper.
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: It's not hard to see, Ron, but you guys are
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: so caught up.
- 1:06:54Speaker 25: In what's going on, being a Trump this and Trump.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: That, and he's so tough, he's this and he's that.
- 1:06:58Speaker 25: There's nothing wrong with wearing a defense or a diaper, Ron.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: People wear diapers.
- 1:07:02Speaker 25: There's probably a person listening to you right now that's
- 1:07:05Speaker 25: wearing a diaper.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: How do I know you're not wearing one?
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: All you got to do is ask my girl. You
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: hear what I'm saying? That's all you got to do.
- 1:07:16Speaker 25: And you've seen me. You've seen me from behind, right?
- 1:07:19Speaker 25: You've seen me from all different directions. Everybody, trust me, Ron,
- 1:07:23Speaker 25: if Emmanuel was wearing a diaper, it would be, you're.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Talking about, people would be listening to you.
- 1:07:27Speaker 25: You let him get out that Emmanuel's wearing a diaper.
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: I won't be able to go nowhere.
- 1:07:32Speaker 25: But I'm telling you right now, Ron, you don't believe
- 1:07:34Speaker 25: a man's wearing a diaper?
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: No, I do not.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Have you looked at him to see?
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: Yes, I have. I have not. I don't believe he's
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: wearing a diaper. What I find very interesting is you
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: make all these observations about. Oh, you hung up on me.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: I was going to say you make all these observations, Emanuel,
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: about Trump. But you never said a peep about Biden
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: when he was couldn't figure out what up, down, left, right.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Didn't have any cabinet meetings for a year. Didn't hold
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: press conferences. Was clearly confused. And was hidden from the public.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: And you were lied to by your party on how
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: he's sharp as a tack. You didn't say a damn
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: thing then when we know we had a guy that
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: was not paying attention. But when it comes to Trump,
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: somehow it's all different. I forgot to pick up on
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: JJ during that break. I'm going to have to get
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: that at 4.30. You're on the.
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: Air.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: It's the guru from Gerard.
- 1:08:34Speaker 23: Yeah, that's some advice. So I actually think it might
- 1:08:36Speaker 23: be kind of smart if Trump is wearing a diaper. Because,
- 1:08:41Speaker 23: I mean, if he's sitting there giving a speech and
- 1:08:43Speaker 23: he pees his pants in front of everybody, he might
- 1:08:45Speaker 23: not look very good.
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 1:08:46Speaker 23: So he's just using.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Tools, you know? Now, perhaps you should have one on
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: as a professor when you're lecturing a class and you
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: let loose.
- 1:08:57Speaker 24: Oh, babe.
- 1:09:00Speaker 23: That's so cute.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: Well, if you think it's okay for Trump, it must
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: be okay for you.
- 1:09:05Speaker 23: I'm saying I got him. How many times did you
- 1:09:10Speaker 23: get up during the night?
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: Fifty-seven.
- 1:09:16Speaker 23: Come on, seriously.
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: Is it three, four?
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: No, it's not three or four.
- 1:09:20Speaker 23: Oh, it is for me. And I'm like 60-something. So
- 1:09:25Speaker 23: Trump is almost 80-something. You've got to wear a diaper
- 1:09:29Speaker 23: or whatever, man.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: You must never get a good night's sleep, then, if
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: you're getting up three or four times. You know, it's
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: like I said, I don't get up three or four times. Now,
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: I realize you do, but like I've said before... I
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: said to my doctor, I have a bowel movement every
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: morning at 7 o'clock, and he said, that's good. And
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: I said, no, I don't get up until 8.30.
- 1:09:59Speaker 23: Well, I'll tell you what, though. I feel for G2
- 1:10:02Speaker 23: because I'm not a Trump hater, I'm not a Trump lover,
- 1:10:05Speaker 23: but I make it through by just never really watching him.
- 1:10:08Speaker 23: I just watch what he does and watching him really seriously.
- 1:10:14Speaker 12: It hurts me.
- 1:10:14Speaker 23: But these people crack me up, man. They really do.
- 1:10:16Speaker 23: Like all these people that I know, you know.
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: They hate it.
- 1:10:18Speaker 23: They can't give it up. And they're like, I'm going
- 1:10:21Speaker 23: to go buy a bunch of tickets and not go.
- 1:10:23Speaker 23: You know, like they're going to use up Trump's tickets
- 1:10:26Speaker 23: or something.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: I don't think you buy it. I think they're free.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:32Speaker 23: Well, they're still they're asking like for a bunch of
- 1:10:34Speaker 23: tickets and then planning.
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: Not to go.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: Well, that's not right because then you're taking away opportunities
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: from people who do want to go. I mean, let's
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: be realistic. It's a Monday afternoon. I would imagine a
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: lot of people are working. Of course, it's not until
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: 6 o'clock. Well, what? It's Columbus Day. Can I say
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: Columbus Day? Is that still okay to say?
- 1:10:54Speaker 25: Well, you know, I don't know.
- 1:10:56Speaker 23: Everybody stopped celebrating it.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: Well, I'm not sure.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: Well, you know, this is because of the Biden administration
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: where they said, Yeah, it was Indigenous People Day. This
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: was the administration was ripping down. Stand by. It's a
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: guru from Gerard. It's always making a stellar appearance with
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: great insight. I'll get back to you momentarily. Ron Verb
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: from the Kingdom of Mahoning as we approach 430 here
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: this afternoon.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 1:11:26Speaker 14: Columbus Humane took in six dogs over the weekend that
- 1:11:28Speaker 14: were brought up from Alabama to avoid Hurricane Isaias. They
- 1:11:32Speaker 14: arrived in Columbus on Saturday morning. After being evacuated Friday night,
- 1:11:37Speaker 14: the dogs range in age from five months to five
- 1:11:40Speaker 14: years old and will be put up for adoption after
- 1:11:43Speaker 14: clearing some medical testing.
- 1:11:44Speaker 11: Meantime, the man walking from L.A. to Times Square.
- 1:11:47Speaker 14: While juggling is expected to be passing through the Dayton
- 1:11:51Speaker 14: area today. Noriah Guerin left from Los Angeles over 130
- 1:11:55Speaker 14: days ago and is planning to be at Times Square
- 1:11:58Speaker 14: by November 21st. He's sharing updates on his effort through Instagram.
- 1:12:02Speaker 14: In a sports update, the Guardians open the American League
- 1:12:05Speaker 14: Championship Series tonight in Tampa Bay against the Rays. First
- 1:12:08Speaker 14: pitch is scheduled for just after 8 p.m. I'm Daniel Barnard.
- 1:12:13Speaker 15: Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for all your music, news, talk,
- 1:12:17Speaker 15: and sports radio.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: Podcasts, too.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: Download the app.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Free never sounded so good.
- 1:12:22Speaker 9: A to Z dependable services. Plumbing, septic, heating, cooling, and
- 1:12:27Speaker 9: one-day baths.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: Construction delays can... Ron Verb. On NewsRadio 570, WKBN.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: All right, we're back at it, NewsRadio 570, WKBN, 435
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: in the afternoon. Let's go back down to the Covelli Center.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: G2 is out of the bunker and covering the events.
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: We talked at 330, now at 430. G2, what's the
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: scene like?
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: Well, there are a couple things that are interesting. You know,
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: one is I had forgotten about the T-shirts. These guys
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: have the best t-shirts. The things are fabulous. And so
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: that's kind of fun. But I've also run into Dave Johnson,
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: who I know from people in Youngstown and from around
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: the state has really done a lot of great work
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: for the state, for the Valley. And so that was
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: nice to see him. And then Michael Rooley just rolled past.
- 1:13:19Speaker 5: And there's Dave now. So Michael Rooley just rolled past
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: on his way in. And, you know, I got to
- 1:13:24Speaker 5: tell you, if somebody wants to come, I think you
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: could actually still get in. Because this is a big arena.
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: And you may be able to just... come down or
- 1:13:33Speaker 5: sign up online and quick get an instant ticket and
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: shoot down. I'm not sure what the process is, but
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: Michael Rooley just told me that if folks still want
- 1:13:41Speaker 5: to come, come on down because it's a fun night.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: So in other words, they can't make it so hard. Well,
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: you've got to get a ticket, and how do you
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: get a ticket? So you're saying, but you're under the
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: impression it's hard to say that if you just show
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: up in a screening, you might be able to get in?
- 1:13:58Speaker 5: I didn't try it here, but, you know, when I've
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: been to other rallies, it got to the point where
- 1:14:03Speaker 5: they weren't even checking the tickets. They were just doing
- 1:14:05Speaker 5: the security check because it just becomes impractical to check tickets.
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: So it's just streaming people in. I would say if
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: you want to come, jump in the car, shoot down
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: Covelli Center, and, you know, make sure your pockets are
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: empty and slide on in because it's going to be
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: a good night. So, yeah, I think you could just
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: get in. You don't need a ticket. You know, people
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: sign up for them online just to reserve a space,
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: But in the end, a lot of people to get
- 1:14:29Speaker 5: tickets don't come. Sometimes Democrats sign up for tickets to
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: have a block on the ticket. Just come on down
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: and get through security and get in.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: And, like, it's really too soon at 430 to even
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: give any type of judgment on crowd size, isn't it? Because,
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: I mean, I would assume a lot of people aren't
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: going to show up until at least 5 o'clock.
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: Well, that's right. I mean, some folks are working. You know,
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: you've got to get here from wherever you are. People
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: come from a long distance. So I think you're right.
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: You know, but I think you probably want to get
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: down here by 530 because at some point they will
- 1:15:07Speaker 5: seal the building. And that'll be probably an hour before
- 1:15:10Speaker 5: Trump comes, I think, based on what I've seen at
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: other events.
- 1:15:14Speaker 13: All right.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: So if they do, he's supposed to speak at 6.
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: Do these things usually run on time, G2?
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: You know, they usually start the opening on time. Trump,
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: it's a crapshoot. He could be a little bit late.
- 1:15:27Speaker 5: You know, he could be on time. You never know.
- 1:15:30Speaker 5: But if he's a little late, they'll fill with, you know,
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: they'll have the speakers go long or bring some extra
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: people up to talk. And then the crowd's just a blast.
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: The music's great. People are dancing in the aisles. It's
- 1:15:42Speaker 5: a great time.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Do you think he'll stop by J.J., the Trumpster's house?
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: He made a steak, and he has a Diet Coke
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: for him.
- 1:15:49Speaker 5: You know, I'm guessing that if there's a helicopter over J.J.
- 1:15:53Speaker 5: 's house right now, it's because Trump's going to be
- 1:15:55Speaker 5: coming by. The question is, does he have an aerial
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: unit up to monitor the security?
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: Yes, I mean, you know, he just wants a commitment
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: over the $ 5, 000 check. He needs a washing machine really bad.
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: Well, I'll tell you what, you know, the $ 5, 000, I
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: think if Trump gets this diesel deal done, maybe that'll
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: get the $ 5, 000 cut loose by Congress.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: I mean, it's going to be interesting to see what
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: takes place down there. I mean, as the crowd grows,
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: are you surprised? I've got to believe at this point
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: in time there wouldn't be very big of a crowd
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: at 430, would there?
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: I don't know. There's a lot of people here. And
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: I can't see outside anymore, so I don't know what
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: the line is like. But people are, you know, it's
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: filling up. And there's a little stand down the way
- 1:16:52Speaker 5: cooking hot sausages, and I can tell you there's a
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: line there for those. So, you know, it's pretty happening.
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: I mean, there are a lot of people streaming it.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's now somebody texts me and says, I
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: was just advised that they change the time. from 6
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: o'clock to 7 o'clock for Trump to speak. I wonder
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: if that's going to be the case.
- 1:17:17Speaker 5: The time I had was 6.30, so that could be
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: the case. But, you know, he could be there at 7,
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: he could be there at 6.30, it's hard to say.
- 1:17:25Speaker 5: You know, everything will roll around Air Force One, right?
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: I mean, all of this kind of stuff is kind
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: of always in flux to a large extent. So from
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: the G2 catbird seats, you've seen Dave Johnson, Michael Rooley.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Who else have you spotted? Go ahead.
- 1:17:42Speaker 5: Drew Carcetti from the Mahoning Valley Republican Party, a guy
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: that was the sort of chairman of this central committee committee.
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: until just recently, who did a huge amount of work
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: in the last couple of years to transform the party.
- 1:17:54Speaker 5: And I'm sure we'll see Tom later. And Vivek Ramaswamy,
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: of course, went by. So now Vivek was surrounded by
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: a phalanx of people with guns. So he had quite
- 1:18:10Speaker 5: the security team. So he was here. And I'm sure
- 1:18:15Speaker 5: there will be something like this. There will be a
- 1:18:17Speaker 5: steady stream of people coming through that are going to
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: be fun to talk to.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, so you haven't spotted Maria Bartiroma? Because
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: if you do, could you let her know Denny from
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: Rock Creek still is in love with her?
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: Listen, if Maria Bartiromo swings in, I'm not mentioning Denny
- 1:18:35Speaker 5: for a second.
- 1:18:35Speaker 13: I'm just going.
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: To sidle up next to her and hang out. Denny's
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: on his own. Fair-weathered friend, I can see. Well, listen,
- 1:18:50Speaker 5: there's normal stuff, and then there's Maria Bartiromo, okay? So
- 1:18:53Speaker 5: you've got to draw the line somewhere.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: What about, let's see, what if you keep your eyes
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: peeled for Laura Ingraham or any of the Fox News reporters?
- 1:19:05Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, it would be interesting to see if
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: any of them come. Newsmax is here, and they're broadcasting
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: live from the media platform. So they're here, and they're
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: hitting it. But I have not seen, you know, it's
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: hard to tell who else is up there because they
- 1:19:20Speaker 5: don't all have logos.
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: Right. All right. Anything else?
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: No, no, I'll give you a shot later. We'll check
- 1:19:28Speaker 5: in again.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: At 530, the next report, live on location, it's G2
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: out of the bunker, right?
- 1:19:35Speaker 5: That's it.
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: That's it.
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: And, you know, if you're available, come on down. Once
- 1:19:39Speaker 5: you get through the door, it's just a good time.
- 1:19:42Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: Thank you, G2.
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: Bye-bye. G2, our roving reporter on location at the Covelli
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: Center today with the ambiance of the crowd gathering for
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: the president's speech. Now, how did, now, I don't know.
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: How would anyone know this that would send me this?
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: Explain to me. Let me see. Let me see. Now,
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: how was this person advised that they'd be speaking at
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: 7 instead of 6? They got to clarify that to
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: me because I don't know if that's the case. I'm
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: just reading some of my messages here. All right. We
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: shall see as time goes on. News Radio 570, WKBN,
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: and Ron Verb, 443, Monday afternoon, October 12th. Because the
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: Guardians pregame happens at 7.30 right here. 7.30, baby. And
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: then 8 o'clock, first pitch. Guardians in Tampa Bay. You know,
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: going to be taking... That should be an interesting matchup. Guardians,
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: 7.35 pregame. About 8.05, first pitch. NewsRadio 570, WQVN, you're
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: on the air.
- 1:21:08Speaker 26: Well, I'm glad to tell you that.
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: Just a minute, please. The show's official sports prognosticator, Dick
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: from Dayton, let's see, you said the Guardians would win.
- 1:21:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: You said the Browns would win, so you lost that one.
- 1:21:27Speaker 5: I lost that one.
- 1:21:29Speaker 26: And I said Ohio State would win.
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: They won. Then the Bengals won, so I was three
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: of four.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: I think you're getting your mojo back. I mean, just
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: from my observation. Now, the analysis of tonight, I mean,
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: Tampa Bay's a pretty good team. Cleveland, what's your analysis
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: of tonight's game? Dick from Dayton, official sports prognosticator for
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: the program.
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: I think the Guardians will win it. I do.
- 1:21:56Speaker 26: They're going to shock us. I think they're going to
- 1:21:59Speaker 26: do good.
- 1:22:00Speaker 23: They really do.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: You think they'll take game one?
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: Yep, they will.
- 1:22:05Speaker 23: But, oh, boy.
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: They have momentum on their side. The mojo's with them,
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: I would think.
- 1:22:14Speaker 26: Yeah, but, you know.
- 1:22:17Speaker 26: Next Sunday, they've got to play the best, because Baltimore,
- 1:22:21Speaker 26: I don't want to see them get massacred. They're going
- 1:22:24Speaker 26: to have to have a.
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: Pep talk, you know?
- 1:22:27Speaker 26: What do you think?
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: A pep talk. Yeah, they're going to need a pep talk. Okay,
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: if that makes the difference, yes, they need a pep talk.
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: What would you say? I mean, how would you approach it?
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: Give me an example of what the pep talk would
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: be if you were giving it.
- 1:22:45Speaker 26: Well, I just, you know, like when it loads, we've
- 1:22:48Speaker 26: got to come together where we were just mental mistakes
- 1:22:52Speaker 26: are killing us. And we're dependent on you for that quarterback.
- 1:22:56Speaker 26: You know, we got to have Cleveland to represent us.
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: You know, I've been a. I loved Cleveland sports since
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: I was a kid.
- 1:23:04Speaker 26: I used to watch all the games, the Browns, and
- 1:23:07Speaker 26: whatever I could watch. I remember when they televised them
- 1:23:10Speaker 26: on NBC, then they went back to CBS.
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: So basically, you're saying your pep talk would be focus, focus, focus.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: Of winning, winning.
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: Okay, so like Charlie Sheen, winning is what you would say, right? Yeah.
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: Tiger blood. You guys need tiger blood. You got to
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: be winning. I get you. Dick from Dayton. Have a
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: good day, Ron. Official sports prognosticator for the program, incidentally.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: Other programs would probably have let him loose years ago
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: because he runs hot and he runs cold. But he
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: thinks tonight belongs to the Guardians. And we shall see.
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: We shall see. Sometimes I think he goes with his heart,
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: not his.
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: But you know what? That's passion. You're on the air.
- 1:24:03Speaker 26: I hope he's still listening.
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: Dick from Dayton.
- 1:24:05Speaker 6: Cincinnati won, didn't cover the point spread. Buckeyes won, didn't
- 1:24:09Speaker 6: cover the point spread. Give us some useful information.
- 1:24:12Speaker 9: You know what?
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: They still won. He's not a gambler, okay? They still won.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: He's not doing the points or anything like that.
- 1:24:23Speaker 13: It's like kissing your sister, Ron.
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: You know, it's not that much fun. Anyhow, getting back
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: to tonight, go Tribe. Scalp them. Scalp them tonight. Even
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: though we lost.
- 1:24:32Speaker 6: Four out of five to them in a regular season,
- 1:24:35Speaker 6: I think after the game the other night, we got
- 1:24:39Speaker 6: momentum on our side, and we're going to do the old,
- 1:24:42Speaker 6: when they used to.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: Call you fireball verb, we.
- 1:24:45Speaker 6: Used to pitch for the Mondaida Bees, and they used
- 1:24:48Speaker 6: to look.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: At that 42-mile-an-hour fastball.
- 1:24:51Speaker 7: Yep.
- 1:24:51Speaker 6: They thought, oh, my goodness, this guy is major league material.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely. And just to correct something, it ranged from
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: 40 to 44 miles an hour, depending on the wind.
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: Depending on the wind.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: And hats off to our beloved president.
- 1:25:13Speaker 6: Remember, Ronnie, you'd think I'd have a bigger crowd than
- 1:25:15Speaker 6: when me and you, when we were in our youth,
- 1:25:17Speaker 6: younger years, and we had our kids down there at
- 1:25:20Speaker 6: Southern Park Mall when our beloved, I'll be his name,
- 1:25:26Speaker 6: Former Congressman Mr. Trappigan had the Clintons and his vice president,
- 1:25:33Speaker 6: Al Gore, in his lovely white. You think it will
- 1:25:35Speaker 6: be a bigger crowd there than at the Covelli tonight?
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: I remember that. I do remember that day, and it
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: was a hell of a big crowd. Clinton, excuse me,
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: it's Clinton, right? Clinton.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: Clinton, yeah.
- 1:25:50Speaker 5: Mr.
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: Clinton.
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: And Gore was there. Remember, they were going to bring
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: the DFAS Center here. Whatever happened to that?
- 1:25:56Speaker 11: Remember that, Ronnie?
- 1:25:57Speaker 6: Tell the people what happened when he told our beloved
- 1:25:59Speaker 6: congressman that if you deliver the vote for the Valley,
- 1:26:04Speaker 6: I'll bring you that DFAS Center with the 12,000 jobs.
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: Where's that located now? Where did they... Let's see. I
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: don't see it anywhere around here. Is it in Boardman
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: or Austin? I don't see the DFAS Center anywhere here.
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: I don't see it. And he got elected twice. Didn't
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: he come to our valley twice?
- 1:26:22Speaker 6: And he promised us all the riches.
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: And how about our congressman when he was down at
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: the B & O station with El Presidente Clinton and
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: where he was?
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:26:37Speaker 6: Remember the time we were at that, what was it,
- 1:26:39Speaker 6: the Teamsters local hall? We had that guy, that Democrat
- 1:26:43Speaker 6: that come in there with Al Gore, the guy with
- 1:26:45Speaker 6: the haircut, remember? And he got up there, he goes,
- 1:26:49Speaker 6: he got up there, and everybody applauded and everything, and
- 1:26:52Speaker 6: he got up there and goes, what town are we?
- 1:26:55Speaker 6: Are we in Canton?
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: And we said, no, you didn't even know what town. Oh, Youngstown, Youngstown. Oh, yes.
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: Split my thought.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: Now, was that Dan Quayle?
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: I don't think it was Dan Quill.
- 1:27:09Speaker 6: It was that other guy that ran with, that had
- 1:27:12Speaker 6: his hair cut and his wife was too chubby.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. John Edwards.
- 1:27:18Speaker 6: John, yeah, me and you and the sailor were there
- 1:27:23Speaker 6: at that.
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: It seems like whenever these big shots.
- 1:27:26Speaker 6: Are there, it's me and you and whoever the big
- 1:27:28Speaker 6: shot is at that town meeting we had.
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: At that hall.
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I remember Clinton, Gore. I remember Dan Quayle.
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: I remember a lot of these people.
- 1:27:42Speaker 6: Ronnie, wasn't it you that said that WRTA has all
- 1:27:46Speaker 6: this money that people get to ride for free?
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: Tell me something, Ronnie.
- 1:27:51Speaker 6: How come they don't build no shelters outside for these people?
- 1:27:54Speaker 6: You see them standing at Walmart out in the rain
- 1:27:57Speaker 6: and everything. Can't they build, they saved all this, they
- 1:28:01Speaker 6: got all this money. Can't they build these shelters for
- 1:28:03Speaker 6: the people waiting for the buses?
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: I would like to think so, because, I mean, at
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: some of those locations, they do get people that are
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: waiting for the bus, and you're saying, can you put
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: one up on that location? Is it allowed? Is zoning allowed,
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: or can you put one up? But I would agree
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: with you. I mean, I hate to see people stand
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: out there in the wind, rain, snow, and that kind
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: of stuff. If you can put up a little shelter
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: for them, and then at night, it can be used
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: for the homeless to sleep in.
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: Yeah, well.
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: Yeah, boy, if you say so, go ahead.
- 1:28:35Speaker 26: Anyhow, the other thing, too, Ronnie.
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: Let's help him tonight. Help him. Now, did you get
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: your Sherrod Brown sign to put in your yard?
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: No, I didn't get Mr.
- 1:28:46Speaker 6: Sherrod Brown's sign.
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: No, no, no.
- 1:28:49Speaker 6: Not the guy who let Lordstown and Packer Electric fall
- 1:28:52Speaker 6: by the hoist side. And you're going to have that
- 1:28:54Speaker 6: guy from Champion call in and go, oh, it was
- 1:28:56Speaker 6: already headed in the wrong direction.
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: No, it wasn't.
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: No, it wasn't. Come on. You were here, Ronnie.
- 1:29:03Speaker 25: Tell the people.
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it was going in the right direction. I hear, yeah,
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: he's right. All right, I'm going to pause here. 4.52

- 1:30:36Speaker 2: Hidey-ho, 456 in the afternoon, 72 degrees. It is a
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: gorgeous Monday. Great day for El Presidente. Donald J. Trump
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: coming to town, speaking at the Covelli Center tonight. Supposedly
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: around 6 o'clock, maybe a little later than that. But
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: coming to town to talk to all of us. And
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: you're on the air.
- 1:31:01Speaker 22: Ronnie.
- 1:31:01Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:31:03Speaker 12: I had a call back because J.J.
- 1:31:05Speaker 22: Called me and he said that the reason the president's
- 1:31:08Speaker 22: speech is delayed is because a helicopter just flew over J.J.
- 1:31:14Speaker 22: 's house, landed in his yard, and Trump presented him
- 1:31:19Speaker 22: a $ 5.
- 1:31:19Speaker 12: 000 check for his vote.
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: And a steak dinner, right?
- 1:31:24Speaker 12: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: A little theater of the mind on your part, right?
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: You're like a thespian today.
- 1:31:34Speaker 12: I don't know.
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: Yes, you're a thespian.
- 1:31:39Speaker 12: I identify as a lesbian, all right?
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: Yes. I mean, you know, JJ's saying he would like
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: the president to swing out by his house. He's got
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: a steak and a Diet Coke if he could bring
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: the $ 5, 000 check. Yes, that's... Okay. Is that it?
- 1:31:56Speaker 22: No, one more thing. I think WKBN, maybe on their website,
- 1:32:01Speaker 22: I think they're going to stream the speech live.
- 1:32:05Speaker 12: I'm not sure.
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:32:07Speaker 24: Stay tuned.
- 1:32:08Speaker 22: You would probably know more than me.
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: Well, that goes without saying on anything, would it not?
- 1:32:14Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: I mean, isn't that kind of stating the obvious? Yeah.
- 1:32:21Speaker 22: Ronnie, Nurse Bertha is knocking on your door. She knocked
- 1:32:25Speaker 22: on mine first. I said, no, Ron's next door.
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: Hey, listen, I got to go. You're on the air.
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: Yeah, you do have to go. You left me hanging.
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. It's the guru of Gerard.
- 1:32:37Speaker 23: Hey, something funny happened, though, I got to tell you about.
- 1:32:41Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:32:42Speaker 23: So somebody who shall remain nameless said to me, they go,
- 1:32:46Speaker 23: what do you.
- 1:32:47Speaker 5: Think, guru?
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: Well, you are the guru of Girard. But they called
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: me that. You know what I mean? Don't you think
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: that's what you are? Listen, I know it's terrible. I
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: promise you, directly after the news at 5, I'll get
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: you right on. Because I punched the wrong button. No problem.
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: All right, back to the guru of Girard. After the
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: break at 5, Ron Verb, NewsRadio 570, WKBN.
- 1:33:14Speaker 16: Flying Missions here as the Valley's trusted news, weather, and
- 1:33:18Speaker 16: talk station.
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: 570 WKPN. Youngstown.
- 1:33:27Speaker 17: President Trump calls it the right choice for the American people.
- 1:33:30Speaker 18: On Lisa Brady, Fox News.
- 1:33:32Speaker 17: He's defending a deal to allow Russia to sell diesel fuel,
- 1:33:35Speaker 17: aiming to help lower prices. Though some in Congress are
- 1:33:37Speaker 17: questioning whether it's legal because of existing sanctions over the
- 1:33:40Speaker 17: war in Ukraine. And Ukraine's President Zelensky tells Fox Russia
- 1:33:44Speaker 17: bombed a power plant only hours after a Trump post
- 1:33:47Speaker 17: about a ceasefire on energy targets.
- 1:33:49Speaker 27: The communication from Russia was very clear that they don't
- 1:33:53Speaker 27: know anything about the energy ceasefire. And it's a pity
- 1:33:57Speaker 27: because they always, I mean, they will find any kind
- 1:34:00Speaker 27: of reasons not to stop this war.
- 1:34:02Speaker 17: President Zelensky calling for more pressure on Russia and saying
- 1:34:05Speaker 17: Ukraine would comply with an energy ceasefire. President Trump has
- 1:34:09Speaker 17: criticized Ukraine's strikes on Russian energy sites. Iran-backed Houthi rebels
- 1:34:14Speaker 17: reportedly claiming responsibility for another attempted ballistic missile attack on
- 1:34:18Speaker 17: an airport in the Saudi capital today, this time intercepted
- 1:34:22Speaker 17: after attacks over the weekend that killed 14 people, injuring hundreds.
- 1:34:26Speaker 18: And renewing questions about any potential U.S. action to help
- 1:34:29Speaker 18: the Saudis. Just getting reports the.
- 1:34:31Speaker 17: FBI is issuing a summons accusing actress Selma Blair of
- 1:34:35Speaker 17: assaults on a plane. A federal official tells the Associated
- 1:34:38Speaker 17: Press there's no court date set yet. Blair is accused
- 1:34:40Speaker 17: of trying to open a door on a Delta jet
- 1:34:42Speaker 17: while traveling from L.A.
- 1:34:44Speaker 18: To New York yesterday.
- 1:34:45Speaker 17: Then assaulting flight attendants who intervened, accused of punching one
- 1:34:48Speaker 17: and biting another.
- 1:34:49Speaker 28: The plane did land at JFK safely. Police were waiting,
- 1:34:52Speaker 28: and it didn't stop there. This is the part where
- 1:34:54Speaker 28: it even escalates further. So the plane lands, and then
- 1:34:57Speaker 28: Blair repeatedly kicks a Port Authority police officer in the head.
- 1:35:00Speaker 28: I guess they had these restraints around her legs. She
- 1:35:03Speaker 28: kind of got out of them. And according to witnesses,
- 1:35:05Speaker 28: it went off the rails. Then once she gets to
- 1:35:07Speaker 28: the hospital in New York, she assaults a nurse, according
- 1:35:09Speaker 28: to TMZ. And they say that nurse wants to press charges.
- 1:35:12Speaker 17: Fox's Alexis McAdams, a representative for Blair, says she had
- 1:35:15Speaker 17: a medical emergency. The 54-year-old was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis
- 1:35:20Speaker 17: in 2018.

- 1:36:32Speaker 1: Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: Hi, good afternoon, NewsRadio 570 WKBN. It is a terrific-looking Monday,
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: magnificent Monday, really, on this October 12th, 72 degrees, very
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: comfortable outside, which is a good day. We have comfortable temperatures,
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: and we don't have any rain or anything like that
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: for all the folks waiting in line at the Covelli
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: Center to get into the president's speech tonight around 6 o'clock.
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: And then, of course— The protesters as well. So everybody
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: at that big event is blessed with a gorgeous day
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: of 72 degrees as the president comes to town tomorrow.
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: Are you ready for this? 80 is going to be
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: the high for tomorrow. And that's pretty good for in
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: October the 13th as we make 80 degrees in my
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: neck of the woods here in Tiffany Boulevard in Boardman.
- 1:37:25Speaker 2: That's considered just perfect. All right, onward we go. The
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: guru of Gerard is standing by with great insights, I
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: might add. Great insights, as always. Hello, guru.
- 1:37:36Speaker 23: Hey, well, I did something kind of interesting this year.
- 1:37:40Speaker 23: On the first.
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: Day of voting.
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: Yes, you voted.
- 1:37:45Speaker 23: I did, because I could not stand all of these
- 1:37:48Speaker 23: stupid ads. I don't care what side you're on. What
- 1:37:52Speaker 23: a waste of money. And I just didn't want to
- 1:37:55Speaker 23: listen to it or care. So I just went and
- 1:37:58Speaker 23: voted on the first day and done. And whenever I
- 1:38:00Speaker 23: see an ad or something, I just kind of pass it.
- 1:38:04Speaker 23: I don't care because it doesn't matter. It's about the
- 1:38:06Speaker 23: best I could do because this is all crazy, man.
- 1:38:10Speaker 23: Money we waste.
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: So did you vote a straight ticket or did you
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: vote a mixed ticket?
- 1:38:18Speaker 23: I voted mixed, actually. I literally, this is what I
- 1:38:23Speaker 23: do now.
- 1:38:24Speaker 3: I take.
- 1:38:26Speaker 23: The issues that I care about, and I look and
- 1:38:28Speaker 23: I see what they've said, you know, and what I
- 1:38:30Speaker 23: know about the person. I actually know a couple people.
- 1:38:32Speaker 23: At least one is running, like a longtime friend of mine,
- 1:38:35Speaker 23: and that made me definitely switch. But, yeah, I don't know.
- 1:38:44Speaker 23: It was mostly probably, you would agree with most of
- 1:38:47Speaker 23: my vote, I would say.
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: Okay, but you voted a mixed ticket.
- 1:38:54Speaker 23: Yeah, you know, Denny, he needs an intervention, perhaps. He
- 1:39:00Speaker 23: just sounded really, really stressed. I mean, it was good
- 1:39:03Speaker 23: he was reminiscing and all, but I think ever since Maria,
- 1:39:07Speaker 23: we should do something nice for Denny.
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: Listen, I can't live in that fantasy world of his.
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: I got to be in the real world. You understand?
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: I got to deal with reality.
- 1:39:24Speaker 23: We took our kids down.
- 1:39:25Speaker 22: Does he have kids?
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: I got to deal with reality. Does he have kids? No,
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: he never got married.
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: That's what I was wondering.
- 1:39:32Speaker 23: I thought I heard him say we brought our kids
- 1:39:34Speaker 23: down there.
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: No, he's a lifelong bachelor with no children. He's missed
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: some of the best things about life, marriage, family. That's
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: what life is all about.
- 1:39:45Speaker 23: And now he doesn't have Maria. I think we should
- 1:39:47Speaker 23: do an intervention on him sometime.
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: Well, she's no longer on Fox.
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: If Trump doesn't show up, then J.J. should make him
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: a steak.
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: You know, it's a pretty decent crowd that they have already.
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: at the Covelli Center, people going down to see. It's
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: always a big deal. I don't care if it's a
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: Democrat or Republican when the president comes to town. I've
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: been here for a lot of them over the years
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: when Clinton was in town and Al Gore and Dan Quayle.
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: I mean, there's been a lot of people who come
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: to town. And it doesn't matter whether Republican or Democrat,
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: it's always a big deal when they're coming to your community.
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: And it's a major event. Obviously, And I'll be the
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: first to say, and I would say this to you, Guru,
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: make no mistake, this community that we are in is
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: a major influence in the outcome of elections for Senate,
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: for Senator, and for Governor. These are very important areas
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: for both of those races. And Republicans and Democrats are
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: damn well aware of that.
- 1:40:50Speaker 23: So I have a question for you.
- 1:40:53Speaker 5: It's like a legal question.
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:40:55Speaker 23: So since Trump is not running... and he's simply an
- 1:40:59Speaker 23: advocate for Republicans, is it legal for you to have
- 1:41:03Speaker 23: him call in the show?
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: Well, let me put it this way. If the president
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: calls the show, he's going to get on.
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: Well, that's my point.
- 1:41:14Speaker 23: I mean, you know, the guru's telling you, you are
- 1:41:17Speaker 23: right now, you're the most important you'll ever be to
- 1:41:19Speaker 23: Donald Trump.
- 1:41:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: Yeah, how about that? I never thought of it. I'm
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: going to sit a little more up in my chair now.
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: Now I'm feeling kind of better about myself.
- 1:41:30Speaker 23: President Trump, if you are listening, your handlers are listening,
- 1:41:33Speaker 23: you need to call in the Ron Burr show. It
- 1:41:36Speaker 23: would be very popular and reach a lot of people.
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: He's got to be flying in. I would imagine they
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: would land at the airbase, wouldn't you think? I mean,
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: if I had to guess.
- 1:41:47Speaker 23: Do you really think that he didn't just hear what
- 1:41:49Speaker 23: I said right now? Or he won't hear it within
- 1:41:52Speaker 23: the next.
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:41:54Speaker 5: Ten hours.
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: You would think.
- 1:41:56Speaker 6: I.
- 1:41:58Speaker 2: Would wonder if, like, you know, J.J. Cafaro is a
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: real good friend of... The Cafaros are good friends of
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: Trump because they were in the same industry. I mean,
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: before Trump was president, right? They were developers and builders
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: and that kind of stuff. So, you know, Trump knows J.J.
- 1:42:13Speaker 2: Cafaro by name. So I'd be curious if... If J.J.
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: greets him out at the airbase or talks to the
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: president when he's in town. It would be interesting to see.
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: Mr.
- 1:42:26Speaker 23: Cafaro, could you ask him to call the Ron Burke show?
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: There you go. What about the guru from Girard? It
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: doesn't get any.
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: Bigger than this.
- 1:42:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:42:35Speaker 23: Ever since I lost some mojo when I switched out
- 1:42:38Speaker 23: of the party, probably.
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: No, you didn't. No, you didn't. I don't have a party.
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: You're showing growth. You're showing your independence. You don't need
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: a party. You're an American. You're part of the American
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: party first.
- 1:42:50Speaker 23: I am part of the American party.
- 1:42:52Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: See you.
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: Professor.
- 1:42:56Speaker 5: President Trump.
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: Yes. Call Ron Verp. Make my day.
- 1:42:59Speaker 23: Make me feel like the most important man.
- 1:43:00Speaker 5: In the world.
- 1:43:01Speaker 3: I'll tell everybody.
- 1:43:02Speaker 23: Call the Ron Verp show.
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: There you go.
- 1:43:05Speaker 23: And I'll just jump up and down and scream.
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: So will Benny.
- 1:43:08Speaker 20: All right.
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: Thank you, buddy. Appreciate it. You got it. You're on
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: the air.
- 1:43:12Speaker 29: If Gino goes tonight, he should maybe like the Kennedy Center.
- 1:43:16Speaker 29: Maybe we should make it like the Trump Mahoning County
- 1:43:18Speaker 29: $ 60 million government office. See if we can pull some strings.
- 1:43:22Speaker 29: You never go through a rich man's ego.
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: It's the Cavalli Center. He bought the naming rights. It's
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: been a Cavalli Center. So what do you want to
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: call it?
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 1:43:33Speaker 29: I'm talking about the new building.
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: Oh!
- 1:43:38Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: Oh, you're talking.
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: Yes, you're talking about.
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:43:43Speaker 29: You know, his time's going to be precious. He should
- 1:43:45Speaker 29: have walked past an artist's rendition of, like, an AI
- 1:43:47Speaker 29: rendering just with his name right on top. He could
- 1:43:49Speaker 29: have got some federal dollars. Heck, maybe he would have
- 1:43:52Speaker 29: just flipped the bill for it. We could have saved
- 1:43:54Speaker 29: the taxpayers a whole lot of money.
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: So you're basically saying Geno should be down there talking
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: to Trump saying, can you get us some federal money
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: for this $ 60 million building? And we'll call it the
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: Trump Government Center. Yes.
- 1:44:07Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:44:08Speaker 13: 100%.
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: Now, see, this is a guy that's thinking. This is
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: a guy right here. Alec is way ahead of the
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: game here, folks. He's the guy saying, let's monopolize on this. Gino,
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: you should be paying attention. Go down and maybe being commissioner,
- 1:44:23Speaker 2: you'll be able to meet the president and you'll be
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: able to say to him, we got $ 60 million. Can
- 1:44:28Speaker 2: you give us some federal money? We'll name it the
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: Trump Government Center. Beautiful idea. Beautiful idea.
- 1:44:33Speaker 3: I would have asked.
- 1:44:34Speaker 29: I would ask for $ 120 million because those bonds are
- 1:44:37Speaker 29: going to cost us so much more. Just art of
- 1:44:40Speaker 29: the deal. You ask for a little more, work back,
- 1:44:41Speaker 29: maybe sign the check at like $ 100 million.
- 1:44:45Speaker 5: We're still good to go. We'll put some gold.
- 1:44:48Speaker 29: Plates on there.
- 1:44:49Speaker 12: We'll be set.
- 1:44:50Speaker 29: This is a missed opportunity if Gino hasn't thought of this.
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: Some gold plates.
- 1:44:57Speaker 12: I mean, seriously.
- 1:44:59Speaker 29: Now, you know, all things set aside, I know the
- 1:45:03Speaker 29: president's probably on his way here. It's a lot going
- 1:45:05Speaker 29: on down there. But, you know, I don't mean to
- 1:45:08Speaker 29: change the subject or anything, but I just think, you know,
- 1:45:11Speaker 29: God bless people like Rich that actually do the work
- 1:45:14Speaker 29: and will actually confront, you know, people that run for governor. And,
- 1:45:17Speaker 29: you know, good for Gino for coming.
- 1:45:19Speaker 23: On the other day.
- 1:45:20Speaker 22: He was very good and open.
- 1:45:22Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:45:22Speaker 26: You know, I give them both.
- 1:45:23Speaker 29: I give them both credits. I just didn't like a
- 1:45:25Speaker 29: lot of the answers that I was getting. You know,
- 1:45:28Speaker 29: Gino didn't really know a lot of the things about,
- 1:45:30Speaker 29: you know, how much this is eventually going to cost. And,
- 1:45:33Speaker 29: you know, all the answers were, well, you just don't know.
- 1:45:36Speaker 29: And it was like me in my house. Like, if
- 1:45:38Speaker 29: I want to move and I tell my wife, well,
- 1:45:40Speaker 29: you know what, you know, it would be nice to
- 1:45:41Speaker 29: have this. It would be better to have that. It
- 1:45:43Speaker 29: would be nice to have this. Well, wouldn't you want
- 1:45:44Speaker 29: to have that? Well, if we fix this, it would
- 1:45:46Speaker 29: cost this much.
- 1:45:47Speaker 5: What a waste.
- 1:45:48Speaker 29: Well, yeah, that all sounds good and dandy when it's
- 1:45:50Speaker 29: somebody else's money and you have no say in it. Again,
- 1:45:55Speaker 29: I appreciate him coming on and being transparent, but I
- 1:45:58Speaker 29: just didn't like a lot of that. I think he
- 1:46:00Speaker 29: could have quelled a lot of the concerns that he
- 1:46:03Speaker 29: had an AI rendering of the Trump, you know, Mahoning
- 1:46:06Speaker 29: County government office building that he could have on stage
- 1:46:09Speaker 29: with him when Trump came out.
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: Well, let me put it this way. I thought Gino
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: did an excellent job, and I thought Rich was good
- 1:46:17Speaker 2: on what he was doing, because you can have a
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: long enough forum where you can have an open discussion
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: with both of these guys about a particular issue, and...
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: And they have enough time to make their points and
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: explain things. And I do agree with you. I mean, transparency,
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: Gino coming on is transparency to talk to the community
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: about his thought process on this. And I learned a
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: lot of things about it I didn't know from Gino
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: that was interesting. And I think Rich did a good
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: conversation of questioning things and Gino responding to them. I mean,
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: it wasn't a debate. It was really a conversation, which
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: I enjoyed.
- 1:46:57Speaker 22: Right.
- 1:46:58Speaker 29: And the thing is, even $ 60 million aside, Gino could
- 1:47:01Speaker 29: say it's not going to go over budget. I don't
- 1:47:03Speaker 29: know how you could say that. I mean, it's going to.
- 1:47:06Speaker 29: Nothing ever comes in under budget. If Trump's not building it,
- 1:47:09Speaker 29: unless they finish the White House addition, he can maybe
- 1:47:12Speaker 29: work on building it also. But it's always going to
- 1:47:14Speaker 29: come over budget. And then we have to get a
- 1:47:17Speaker 29: bond for this. So the taxpayers are going to be
- 1:47:19Speaker 29: paying for this for the next 30 years.
- 1:47:21Speaker 13: They don't have the money.
- 1:47:22Speaker 29: Even if they have to take out $ 50 million for bonds,
- 1:47:25Speaker 29: it's going to cost.
- 1:47:27Speaker 5: way more.
- 1:47:28Speaker 29: And at the end of the day, I want all
- 1:47:29Speaker 29: the government employees to have a nice place, you know,
- 1:47:32Speaker 29: to go to work, but it's a government agency. Their
- 1:47:35Speaker 29: job is to take care of the citizen, not to
- 1:47:37Speaker 29: be in a glass and Taj Mahal with 12 foot
- 1:47:42Speaker 29: windows and natural light coming in. Like I just need
- 1:47:45Speaker 29: my driver's license, my registration.
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 1:47:48Speaker 29: Like, what are we building this for? And I'm concerned.
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: Let me put it this way though. Let me, if
- 1:47:53Speaker 2: you're going to, And sometimes a new building is better
- 1:48:00Speaker 2: than renovating an old one just because of just– I
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: get that. Make no mistake about that. But if you're
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: going to build a new one, you might as well
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: build a nice building. I mean, you might as well
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: build one that has a little bit of pizzazz to it,
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: not just uh a bland one well don't.
- 1:48:17Speaker 29: At the end of the day ron what do you
- 1:48:19Speaker 29: think all my money comes out of the same pocket
- 1:48:21Speaker 29: shouldn't i be able to choose where i put my
- 1:48:23Speaker 29: pizzazz and not have to worry about like the government
- 1:48:27Speaker 29: agency office in downtown youngstown which i might go to
- 1:48:30Speaker 29: once or twice in my life and then have to
- 1:48:33Speaker 29: pay to park there you know what i mean i
- 1:48:35Speaker 29: mean i don't know why we're building this this this
- 1:48:37Speaker 29: whole thing. And, you know, Gino said, don't you want
- 1:48:40Speaker 29: people coming from out of town to see this beautiful
- 1:48:43Speaker 29: building so they invest in Youngstown and want to come
- 1:48:45Speaker 29: to Mahoning County? Well, I sure do. It's just like
- 1:48:49Speaker 29: G2 said, you're going to have to blindfold them on
- 1:48:51Speaker 29: the way until they get there then because this will.
- 1:48:54Speaker 3: Not show all the blight.
- 1:48:56Speaker 29: So it sounds all great when you take it out
- 1:48:58Speaker 29: of context of the whole entire scenario there. I don't
- 1:49:03Speaker 29: know what more we're supposed to do. Every dollar that
- 1:49:06Speaker 29: goes out, it just keeps adding up. It's like when
- 1:49:08Speaker 29: you sign something, it's like for the price of a
- 1:49:10Speaker 29: cup of coffee a day, $ 3 a day.
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: That's it.
- 1:49:13Speaker 29: Well, those $ 3 tend to add up when you multiply
- 1:49:16Speaker 29: it 100 times over every single month, along with everything
- 1:49:19Speaker 29: else that keeps going up. Now, I don't know what
- 1:49:22Speaker 29: Donald Trump's going to come to Youngstown and talk about tonight,
- 1:49:25Speaker 29: but I hope he starts talking about something for, you know,
- 1:49:27Speaker 29: the working class here, because he's got, what, a couple
- 1:49:30Speaker 29: more weeks before the midterms, and we're talking about, you know,
- 1:49:33Speaker 29: things that are just not really moving the needle for
- 1:49:36Speaker 29: somebody to want to go out and vote. Sure, the
- 1:49:37Speaker 29: gas price came down a little bit, but that's because,
- 1:49:40Speaker 29: you know, the Republicans in the state, you know, took
- 1:49:42Speaker 29: off the gas tax for, what, 90 days. So what happens,
- 1:49:46Speaker 29: and I mean, it's a political move. I'm not, I'm,
- 1:49:49Speaker 29: I'm conservative, I'm a Republican, I'll say it. You know,
- 1:49:52Speaker 29: if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck,
- 1:49:54Speaker 29: it's a duck. This is a political move before the midterms, okay.
- 1:49:58Speaker 29: It helps my pocketbook, but what happens 90 days later
- 1:50:01Speaker 29: when it goes right back? Or Donald Trump's a lame
- 1:50:04Speaker 29: duck because they lose the House and the Senate, and
- 1:50:07Speaker 29: now the war goes on even longer. I have no idea.
- 1:50:10Speaker 29: And then he's handcuffed instead of being able to just
- 1:50:12Speaker 29: finish the job. like we should do in wars, not
- 1:50:15Speaker 29: like Afghanistan for 20 years where we handed it back
- 1:50:18Speaker 29: to the Taliban after giving up how many lives and
- 1:50:22Speaker 29: $ 2 trillion. I mean, I just look forward to having
- 1:50:26Speaker 29: some form of finalization on anything moving forward and an
- 1:50:31Speaker 29: actual plan that comes to fruition.
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would agree with that. I would totally
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: agree with that.
- 1:50:41Speaker 29: All right, just in case Trump's on hold, I'll get off.
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: Okay, great. Thanks for calling. Appreciate it. You're on the air.
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: Hey, Bubba.
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: Let's get something straight. You're Bubba Ganoush, not me.
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: No, Diamond Dave.
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: No, Diamond Dave, I don't recognize that name.
- 1:51:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I was right again. I told you they'd win
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: all three games, the Guardians. Remember? I got a podcast.
- 1:51:10Speaker 3: I heard it on the podcast, so.
- 1:51:12Speaker 5: Ball game.
- 1:51:14Speaker 8: No.
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: I told you they were going to clean up. They
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: were going to win all three and beat Chicago.
- 1:51:20Speaker 5: And you go, no, man, that's a lot.
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: That's a lot.
- 1:51:24Speaker 2: What a great series, though. I mean, really, to come
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: from behind to 2-0 and do that. I mean, I
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: am so looking forward to the pregame tonight. Right here,
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: Guardians coverage starting at about 7.30 p.m. A little after
- 1:51:41Speaker 2: 8 o'clock, first pitch, Tom Hamilton. Really, there isn't anybody
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: better than that. And Rosie calling the game tonight. A
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: little bit after 8 o'clock here on NewsRadio 570. WDKVN, really.
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: You know who they're pitching?
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: Who are they pitching?
- 1:51:57Speaker 3: Well, we're pitching this guy. that last time he pitched,
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: he pitched six, seven innings and gave up no runs,
- 1:52:07Speaker 3: no walks.
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: I'll tell you, man, how about the pitching Saturday? What
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: a great... Unbelievable. Yeah, absolutely unbelievable. I mean, it was really....
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: I mean, Williams, I mean, he did great.
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: And I'll tell you something. I mean, the Browns are exciting, too.
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: I mean, even though we lost that game, and I
- 1:52:30Speaker 2: understand everybody's playing in the same weather, but I haven't
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: thrown a towel in on the Browns yet either. They
- 1:52:37Speaker 2: don't have a running game. But there's still some excitement
- 1:52:41Speaker 2: there as far as the Browns are concerned. I feel
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: good about the season so far. Let me put it
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: that way.
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: They don't have a running game, Ron.
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: Stand by. I've got to pause. I'll come back to
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: you in just a minute. I mean, it's... It was
- 1:52:57Speaker 2: a great weekend sports-wise. I'll get into that momentarily. Got
- 1:53:01Speaker 2: a pause here. NewsRadio 570 WKB. Got a message coming
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: up from– were you ever a patient of Dr. Mandy
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: Ward for your eyeglasses optometrist? She's now located in Salem.
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: She's now joined– The Matthews Eye Group, Maureen Matthews, one
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: of the best eye doctors out there. And Mandy Ward,
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: many people say, where's Mandy Ward? She's in Salem now
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: as your optometrist, and you can make an appointment down there.
- 1:53:27Speaker 2: Here's details from me. Hi, this is Ron Verb. If
- 1:53:34Speaker 2: you're looking for exceptional eye, will you KBN? And your
- 1:53:38Speaker 2: fearless leader, Ron Furb from the Kingdom of Mahoning here. 525,
- 1:53:42Speaker 2: 72 degrees. Focus of the nation today is on our
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: neck of the woods. As I've said numerous times, Bubba Ganush,
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: and I'll say it again, this community is extremely important
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: in these major elections. I mean, it was extremely important
- 1:53:57Speaker 2: in the Trump victory each time that took place, Mahoning, Trumbull,
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: Columbiana counties. Very important. It was very important for The
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: loss of Tim Ryan is when he was running for
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: the Senate, right, against– Jesus' name is– J.D.
- 1:54:19Speaker 3: Vance.
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: Yeah, was it J.D. Vance? Was he running against Vance or– well, whatever.
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: But Tim Ryan lost. And it was– this area was
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: very vital to it. I mean– and this is an
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: important area now when– excuse me– when Trump's coming to town–
- 1:54:38Speaker 2: really to say, okay, I'm not on the ballot, but
- 1:54:42Speaker 2: I'm here to say don't vote for Sherrod Brown more
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: than likely, and so don't vote for Amy Acton. I
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: suspect he's going to be talking about, I mean, talking
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: about obviously what's going on in the country, but also
- 1:54:54Speaker 2: he's going to be putting in a campaign shout for
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: those guys, right?
- 1:54:58Speaker 3: Hey, I got one that you don't know he's going
- 1:55:01Speaker 3: to talk about. When Barack Obama was president, he screwed
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: all the– pack of electric salaried people and took their pension.
- 1:55:14Speaker 3: And it's just been sitting there. And, you know, my
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: brother's one of them, so that's how I know. So
- 1:55:20Speaker 3: he's going to be talking about getting that back to
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: these pack of electric white-collar workers.
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: You know, as you talk about that, that's been talked
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: about for the longest time. We were paying the pensions
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: of the people in the Ukraine... At the time, we
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: were screwing the people from Packard.
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: Yeah, how about that?
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: Well, the reality is, I hate to say it, but
- 1:55:43Speaker 2: many of those people have passed on. And granted, there's
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: still a lot of.
- 1:55:47Speaker 3: Well, they've got family.
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: Right, but I mean, it was really just... As time
- 1:55:53Speaker 2: marches on.
- 1:55:54Speaker 3: Barack Obama. Barack Obama did that. Barack Obama and his mama.
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: I don't know if that was Obama or what. I can't.
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: Don't you remember what he did with GM?
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:56:09Speaker 3: You know what?
- 1:56:10Speaker 6: I got a memory.
- 1:56:11Speaker 3: You don't. So listen to me. He's going to be
- 1:56:13Speaker 3: talking about it tonight.
- 1:56:15Speaker 2: You think?
- 1:56:16Speaker 3: Oh, no. How do you know? Because my brother sent
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: me something, and I said yes immediately. I want this, and,
- 1:56:24Speaker 3: you know, it's like a thing from his website. Yes,
- 1:56:27Speaker 3: I want. So he's trying to get a lot of
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: people saying yes, they want this, you know.
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: Right. I'm surprised you didn't make time to go down
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: there and be in a crowd.
- 1:56:36Speaker 3: What? Oh, you've got to be kidding me. And listen.
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: What do you mean? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: What do you mean I've got to be kidding?
- 1:56:44Speaker 3: Wait a minute, because if there's DSA people down there,
- 1:56:47Speaker 3: I can't go because I can't bring my nine with
- 1:56:50Speaker 3: me soon.
- 1:56:50Speaker 2: Well, you know, you can't bring a gun, obviously. I mean,
- 1:56:54Speaker 2: you don't need to bring that to go to a rally.
- 1:56:56Speaker 3: I don't like those people. I don't like their thinking.
- 1:56:59Speaker 3: What people? They want to destroy this country.
- 1:57:02Speaker 2: Oh, but I'm talking about you going to the Trump rally.
- 1:57:06Speaker 3: I'm not worried about that. I've been to many rallies.
- 1:57:08Speaker 3: I'm not worried about that. I've been on television.
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: This is the buzz. This is the buzz in your community.
- 1:57:17Speaker 2: I'll be curious to see how many people show up.
- 1:57:20Speaker 3: How many times did I run for state rep?
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: Seems like a couple.
- 1:57:25Speaker 3: Okay. How many times did I win?
- 1:57:30Speaker 2: I can't remember any, but that's regardless, because as far
- 1:57:34Speaker 2: as I'm concerned, you put your hat in the ring.
- 1:57:37Speaker 2: I thought you ran a good campaign. I voted for you,
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: and so you didn't win. All right.
- 1:57:44Speaker 3: That's right.
- 1:57:45Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: You still would have been a better choice.
- 1:57:49Speaker 3: No, I know that, but the community didn't support me
- 1:57:53Speaker 3: to win.
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: You lost to Lauren McNally, right?
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: No. No, Hagan, Mrs. Hagan.
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Good God.
- 1:58:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: Think of all she's done.
- 1:58:06Speaker 3: What did she do, by the way?
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: Nothing I can think of.
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: Oh, she put flags on the bridges. That's right.
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: You know, not much I can think of. You know,
- 1:58:16Speaker 2: it's like they say Lauren McNally has one of the
- 1:58:18Speaker 2: worst attendance records down in Columbus. Now she wants to
- 1:58:21Speaker 2: be commissioner. I don't get it.
- 1:58:24Speaker 3: Yeah, she's a state rep.
- 1:58:27Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:58:29Speaker 3: No, no, no, no. You know that, no. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:58:31Speaker 3: The commissioner should be, should be that other woman.
- 1:58:35Speaker 24: What's her name?
- 1:58:36Speaker 3: I voted for her.
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: Oliver.
- 1:58:38Speaker 3: Yeah, Christine Oliver.
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: All right. There you go. Bubba Ganoush. Back in a minute.
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 1:58:49Speaker 14: Trump will take the stage in about half an hour
- 1:58:51Speaker 14: at the Covelli Center in Youngstown.
- 1:58:53Speaker 11: He's campaigning for Ramaswamy in Houston ahead of the midterms.
- 1:58:57Speaker 14: Also, gas prices in the Buckeye State have remained consistent
- 1:59:00Speaker 14: throughout the past week. They began at the same exact
- 1:59:03Speaker 14: price this week that they were at last Monday, at
- 1:59:06Speaker 14: $ 3. 87 per regular gallon. Diesel is down a penny at $ 6.
- 1:59:10Speaker 9: 08.
- 1:59:10Speaker 14: Meantime, Sherrod Brown is hitting the campaign trail across the
- 1:59:13Speaker 14: state this week.
- 1:59:14Speaker 11: He's scheduled to be in Cleveland on.
- 1:59:16Speaker 14: Tuesday for a meet-and-greet, in Parma on Wednesday to meet
- 1:59:19Speaker 14: union workers, then he'll head to Cincinnati to talk about
- 1:59:22Speaker 14: rising prices for Ohioans. And we're just about an hour
- 1:59:26Speaker 14: and a half away from the Guardians getting underway against
- 1:59:28Speaker 14: the Rays in Game 1 of the ALCS. Foster Griffin
- 1:59:32Speaker 14: will start for Cleveland against the Rays' Drew Rasmussen.
- 1:59:35Speaker 11: I'm Daniel Barnard.
- 1:59:36Speaker 15: Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for all your music, news, talk,
- 1:59:40Speaker 15: and sports radio.
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: Podcast 2.
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: Download the app.
- 1:59:44Speaker 5: Free.
- 1:59:45Speaker 1: Never sounded so good.
- 1:59:46Speaker 9: A to Z dependable services, plumbing, septic, heating, cooling, and
- 1:59:50Speaker 9: one-day baths. Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: All right, from NewsRadio 570 WKBN, 535 on Monday, October 12th,
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: 72 degrees, a beautiful day.
- 1:59:57Speaker 2: Great day for people that are waiting in line and
- 1:59:58Speaker 2: what have you at the Covelli Center. Let's find out
- 2:00:11Speaker 2: what's going on down there. G2, our man on the
- 2:00:13Speaker 2: streets down at Covelli. G2, what's going on?
- 2:00:17Speaker 5: Well, the program has started, and they're singing the national
- 2:00:21Speaker 5: anthem now. And so things are on their way. The
- 2:00:25Speaker 5: doors are still open. Sounds like Trump is probably going
- 2:00:28Speaker 5: to speak around 7 p.m. But the crowd is continuously growing.
- 2:00:34Speaker 5: It's great. Oh, and since... The last few minutes, Bernie
- 2:00:38Speaker 5: Marino showed up. So you've got really a lot of
- 2:00:42Speaker 5: folks from around the state that are here. So it's
- 2:00:45Speaker 5: pretty cool. It's a great night.
- 2:00:47Speaker 2: And all of those people, obviously, I'll pause for just
- 2:00:50Speaker 2: a second. I apologize to you for going to you
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: during the national anthem. I didn't know that that was on.
- 2:00:57Speaker 2: But with that being said, many of those people that
- 2:01:01Speaker 2: are running will speak before. Wait a minute. We'll speak
- 2:01:06Speaker 2: before Trump, obviously. They say he's not going to speak
- 2:01:09Speaker 2: now until 7. Have you heard that?
- 2:01:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I believe that's right. I think it's 7 o'clock
- 2:01:14Speaker 5: that he's going to speak. And, you know, so they've
- 2:01:18Speaker 5: already started with the first candidate that has been up
- 2:01:21Speaker 5: to top. And it'll run from here. I don't know
- 2:01:26Speaker 5: who's in the lineup because I just haven't. paid attention
- 2:01:29Speaker 5: to the details.
- 2:01:33Speaker 2: I would imagine a lot of those statewide candidates that
- 2:01:37Speaker 2: are running, including Ramaswamy, I would assume all of those
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: people will speak before Trump would speak at 7 o'clock.
- 2:01:46Speaker 2: And maybe even some local candidates. You would think that
- 2:01:51Speaker 2: all the statewide candidates would speak, then some local candidates...
- 2:01:55Speaker 2: And then Trump is supposed to speak at seven o'clock
- 2:01:58Speaker 2: then tonight, as I understand. Can you get a read
- 2:02:03Speaker 2: on the crowd at all?
- 2:02:06Speaker 5: Well, I sent you a picture from one angle. You know,
- 2:02:11Speaker 5: this thing was planned about 10 days ago and around 445,
- 2:02:14Speaker 5: I would say that the venue was at least, I
- 2:02:17Speaker 5: don't know, 60%. So I don't, you know, some of
- 2:02:20Speaker 5: it's blocked off, obviously, as they always do. But it's,
- 2:02:24Speaker 5: It's a good-sized crowd for something that happened so quickly.
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: Excellent. All right, so obviously we'll be on the air
- 2:02:32Speaker 2: until 6 and the Rockport show until 7. Obviously, we'll
- 2:02:36Speaker 2: get a full report from you tomorrow, if you don't mind,
- 2:02:39Speaker 2: as far as Trump's remarks and what you thought about
- 2:02:42Speaker 2: his remarks in the crowd.
- 2:02:44Speaker 5: And also Vivek. I'm really interested in what Vivek has
- 2:02:48Speaker 5: to say because we've talked a lot about the challenges
- 2:02:50Speaker 5: he's got As he's talked favorably about H-1Bs, a real
- 2:02:54Speaker 5: problem for a lot of voters. He's talked about increasing population,
- 2:02:58Speaker 5: which has left people very uncomfortable. You know, I'm going
- 2:03:01Speaker 5: to be interested to see how he addresses those two
- 2:03:04Speaker 5: issues specifically.
- 2:03:06Speaker 2: Or if he addresses them at all tonight, you know,
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: in a campaign speech. I don't know that he will.
- 2:03:13Speaker 5: That's a fair point. He may not. And so that's
- 2:03:17Speaker 5: going to be interesting. I think some of these candidates,
- 2:03:20Speaker 5: it's going to be really interesting to see how they
- 2:03:22Speaker 5: address the issue. And I mentioned before that the shared
- 2:03:25Speaker 5: ground has a billboard up talking about inflation. Well, it's
- 2:03:31Speaker 5: every policy he ever voted for that caused it. And
- 2:03:33Speaker 5: somehow he's pretending that now he's going to reverse it.
- 2:03:37Speaker 5: It's remarkable to see how they manage the messaging.
- 2:03:41Speaker 2: Yeah, is it– let me see here. I would think, G2,
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: that Senator Houston would speak as well since he's running,
- 2:03:52Speaker 2: as well as Bernie Marino. Wouldn't you?
- 2:03:55Speaker 5: I do think, yeah, I think Bernie will speak, and
- 2:03:57Speaker 5: I suspect John Houston will speak. Some of the folks
- 2:04:00Speaker 5: that are here told me that he's coming. I just
- 2:04:02Speaker 5: haven't seen him, so I don't know.
- 2:04:04Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 2:04:07Speaker 2: I mean, very interesting. I mean, so Bernie Marino's there.
- 2:04:11Speaker 2: I would certainly think John Husted would speak. I would
- 2:04:14Speaker 2: think that it's going to be interesting. Did you see
- 2:04:17Speaker 2: the governor at all, DeWine?
- 2:04:19Speaker 5: I have not seen the governor, no. I don't.
- 2:04:21Speaker 2: I don't.
- 2:04:22Speaker 5: I have not seen. I frankly didn't even think of him,
- 2:04:26Speaker 5: to be honest with you. I guess I expected him
- 2:04:28Speaker 5: to be somewhere down in Haiti.
- 2:04:30Speaker 6: Huh.
- 2:04:30Speaker 5: You know, he has a school in Haiti. You like
- 2:04:35Speaker 5: rotations down in Springfield. You know, I've got some serious
- 2:04:39Speaker 5: policy problems with this guy, but I have not seen him.
- 2:04:43Speaker 5: But that's an interesting one. I'll watch for him and see.
- 2:04:47Speaker 13: If he appears.
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: You're on a roll now. I didn't know you'd be
- 2:04:52Speaker 2: doing reporting and comedy all at the same time. I mean,
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: so a lot of these things, though, obviously is a
- 2:05:02Speaker 2: good exposure for local, for statewide candidates and some of
- 2:05:07Speaker 2: the local candidates, perhaps Tom McCabe will speak or some
- 2:05:10Speaker 2: of the local candidates will get up for a short
- 2:05:12Speaker 2: period of time and make their pitch to the crowd
- 2:05:15Speaker 2: before Trump arrives. Now, seven o'clock, these things like you
- 2:05:20Speaker 2: were saying, like we're saying the other day, they always
- 2:05:22Speaker 2: run late, don't they?
- 2:05:24Speaker 5: Never run a little bit late, but, you know, it
- 2:05:25Speaker 5: just comes around whenever it's the security works for Trump, right?
- 2:05:30Speaker 5: And Tom McCabe is here. And so I'm not sure
- 2:05:32Speaker 5: if he's speaking or not. I didn't ask him. But
- 2:05:35Speaker 5: he's here. And so it is really good. And think
- 2:05:39Speaker 5: about this. Before Trump started doing rallies, I don't know
- 2:05:43Speaker 5: of any other venue, any other kind of event where
- 2:05:46Speaker 5: this kind of numbers came together for a political discussion.
- 2:05:50Speaker 5: You know, for any candidate, you never saw 10 or
- 2:05:53Speaker 5: 20,000 people in a rural arena or in a place
- 2:05:57Speaker 5: like Covelli Center. You know, in a big metropolitan market,
- 2:06:01Speaker 5: maybe you'd see, you know, in a Philadelphia or in
- 2:06:04Speaker 5: a Baltimore, you'd see, you know, 30,000 people. That just
- 2:06:08Speaker 5: never happened unless you were Taylor Swift. And it's remarkable
- 2:06:12Speaker 5: that Trump has been able to get these people motivated
- 2:06:14Speaker 5: and out. Of course, the Democrats have something like the
- 2:06:19Speaker 5: No Kings rally, their get-out-the-vote effort where they pretend that
- 2:06:22Speaker 5: they don't like kings. And, of course, their policies all
- 2:06:24Speaker 5: lead to tyranny, so the logic isn't there. But they
- 2:06:27Speaker 5: spent $ 300 million on those things. They spent $ 300 million.
- 2:06:34Speaker 5: These things are done at a fraction of the cost,
- 2:06:37Speaker 5: and yet these people are all showing up, and they're
- 2:06:38Speaker 5: not getting paid to be here. Of course, with the
- 2:06:40Speaker 5: Democrat things, many of them are paid to be there.
- 2:06:42Speaker 5: So it is an interesting paradigm to watch how the
- 2:06:46Speaker 5: average American is connecting to these issues and demanding changes.
- 2:06:51Speaker 5: And look, some of them are unhappy with this second term,
- 2:06:54Speaker 5: that they haven't had the America First agenda legislated and
- 2:06:58Speaker 5: fast enough. They haven't had some of the successes they
- 2:07:02Speaker 5: were hoping for. And then, of course, you've got the war,
- 2:07:04Speaker 5: the Epstein files. There have been some real speed bumps
- 2:07:07Speaker 5: along the way. But the truth is, you know, I
- 2:07:11Speaker 5: think the folks that are here realize that if you're
- 2:07:14Speaker 5: in this fight, it's a long-term fight. You're not going
- 2:07:16Speaker 5: to get this all done in 18 months. And the
- 2:07:18Speaker 5: Republican Party, it's guys like Rooley and Scott Perry in
- 2:07:22Speaker 5: Pennsylvania and guys like that that have to keep pushing
- 2:07:26Speaker 5: the party to get these agendas implemented. So it is
- 2:07:29Speaker 5: a battle. You really have to think of this like war.
- 2:07:32Speaker 5: And you really have to think long-term. So, you know,
- 2:07:35Speaker 5: to the folks that are saying, well, I'm not going
- 2:07:37Speaker 5: to vote because I'm unhappy. Listen, we don't have the
- 2:07:39Speaker 5: luxury of sitting on our canes. We've got to get
- 2:07:42Speaker 5: out and make a decision.
- 2:07:44Speaker 2: Absolutely. And you don't want to go back to the
- 2:07:47Speaker 2: lunatic policies of the Democrats, of the open border, of
- 2:07:51Speaker 2: the transgenderism, of we've got to hire on anything but merit,
- 2:07:55Speaker 2: of the attack on fossil fuels. I mean, you don't
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: want to go back. to it. The craziness will just
- 2:08:02Speaker 2: come back. Ripping down statues, renaming Fort Hood. Do I
- 2:08:07Speaker 2: need to say more? The transgenderism, the attack on fossil fuels,
- 2:08:12Speaker 2: the craziness that we all saw during the Biden administration.
- 2:08:17Speaker 2: More government, more taxes and that kind of stuff. I
- 2:08:20Speaker 2: don't think if you think that's the alternative, then perhaps
- 2:08:24Speaker 2: you need to have your head examined. Would you agree?
- 2:08:27Speaker 3: I would.
- 2:08:27Speaker 5: And remember, you know, in our first discussion today, you
- 2:08:29Speaker 5: mentioned the discussion I have with Greg Vivino and You know,
- 2:08:32Speaker 5: when you get into talking about something as heinous as
- 2:08:35Speaker 5: what was happening with trafficked children into this country as
- 2:08:38Speaker 5: an institutionalized industrial-scale activity, it's something that's unimaginable that would
- 2:08:44Speaker 5: happen in the United States. But, you know, we were
- 2:08:47Speaker 5: talking through the– you've heard me say a lot of
- 2:08:49Speaker 5: times there is no such thing as an unaccompanied minor, and,
- 2:08:51Speaker 5: of course, Bovino confirmed that, right? And it's unimaginable that
- 2:08:57Speaker 5: in the country that we call home– Those kinds of
- 2:09:00Speaker 5: things happen. But that was just 18 months ago.
- 2:09:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:09:04Speaker 5: So we've got to lean into this fight. We've got
- 2:09:08Speaker 5: to be making decisions, even when it's not fun. And,
- 2:09:12Speaker 5: you know, if the election's on November 3, then on
- 2:09:14Speaker 5: November 4, you have to look at the outcome and say, OK,
- 2:09:16Speaker 5: now what difference can I make next? What can I
- 2:09:19Speaker 5: do to further... Fight for the right thing.
- 2:09:23Speaker 2: As an American, even if you're a lesser of two evils,
- 2:09:26Speaker 2: Trump would be the lesser of two evils in anybody's
- 2:09:29Speaker 2: eyes versus going back to the lunatic policies of the Democrat. Hell,
- 2:09:33Speaker 2: even Bill Maher makes a good case for that. I
- 2:09:37Speaker 2: don't see how you could view it any other way.
- 2:09:40Speaker 2: And did you get any sense, G2, on the other line,
- 2:09:44Speaker 2: where they're talking about– I was watching– I wish I
- 2:09:47Speaker 2: could tell you that it was a woman that does–
- 2:09:54Speaker 2: she's no Trump fan said that she had talked to
- 2:09:57Speaker 2: one of the negotiators for Iran and he was saying
- 2:10:00Speaker 2: basically that Iran has agreed to no nuclear weapons and
- 2:10:06Speaker 2: getting rid of the dust and all this kind of stuff.
- 2:10:08Speaker 2: Had you heard any of that?
- 2:10:09Speaker 3: I have.
- 2:10:10Speaker 24: I've talked to a couple of generals and colonels and
- 2:10:14Speaker 24: admirals some folks like that, about four of them and
- 2:10:18Speaker 24: gone through exactly what's going on inside that country and
- 2:10:21Speaker 24: from our side It is very difficult to maintain a blockade,
- 2:10:25Speaker 24: and yet our team.
- 2:10:25Speaker 5: Is doing it, which is incredible. And what no one
- 2:10:28Speaker 5: is reporting and many are lying about is the pressures
- 2:10:31Speaker 5: inside Peru. You've got hyperinflation. Eggs are up 432%. You
- 2:10:35Speaker 5: think we have it rough? They can't even get the
- 2:10:38Speaker 5: food that they need. They can't pay the bureaucrats. They
- 2:10:41Speaker 5: can't pay the IRGC. This blockade and 47 years of
- 2:10:46Speaker 5: economic pressure has really hurt them. They can't export or
- 2:10:50Speaker 5: import not just oil, but anything. They can't bring in weapons.
- 2:10:53Speaker 5: They can't bring in anything in large numbers. Of course,
- 2:10:56Speaker 5: some of it squeaks out on the eastern side or
- 2:10:58Speaker 5: northern side of the country, but the Persian Gulf, they're
- 2:11:01Speaker 5: not getting much out. Meanwhile, the U.S. has escorted, I think,
- 2:11:05Speaker 5: 200 ships through the strait. So materials are moving. And
- 2:11:09Speaker 5: Iran is now, if you listen to the gentleman who
- 2:11:12Speaker 5: was just interviewed when he was at the U.N., and
- 2:11:14Speaker 5: he did two or three interviews, and I caught one
- 2:11:16Speaker 5: or two of them, And this guy was laying it
- 2:11:19Speaker 5: out clearly. They clearly are prepared to have a conversation.
- 2:11:23Speaker 5: They're not going to allow their regime to completely collapse
- 2:11:27Speaker 5: over a nuclear program that wasn't really in existence anyway.
- 2:11:32Speaker 5: They know that the Saudis, all of the Sunni nations,
- 2:11:35Speaker 5: will not allow them to have control of the strait.
- 2:11:38Speaker 5: The strait has to be international waters, open and free
- 2:11:41Speaker 5: for everyone to use. The Saudis are saying it, others
- 2:11:44Speaker 5: are saying it. Now, the Houthis have done a really
- 2:11:47Speaker 5: good job of working into the coastline down there in Yemen.
- 2:11:52Speaker 5: But the truth is that war has been going on
- 2:11:54Speaker 5: long before this thing in Iran started. It's one of
- 2:11:58Speaker 5: the reasons why the fight in Iran started. The Saudis
- 2:12:01Speaker 5: have been fighting in Yemen for a long time, although
- 2:12:03Speaker 5: they hire people to fight as you know. But they've
- 2:12:05Speaker 5: been down there trying to prosecute this war with the
- 2:12:07Speaker 5: Yemeni government fighting the Houthis. And that's got to get settled, too,
- 2:12:12Speaker 5: because you can't have that Mandeb down at the bottom
- 2:12:17Speaker 5: of the Red Sea. You can't have that under the
- 2:12:19Speaker 5: same kind of threat and constriction that you have right
- 2:12:23Speaker 5: now on the Strait of Hormuz. This has to be open,
- 2:12:25Speaker 5: free water. And I think the ancillary benefit that could
- 2:12:29Speaker 5: come from this is that those issues that have been
- 2:12:32Speaker 5: plaguing the Middle East for many, many years will finally
- 2:12:34Speaker 5: be resolved. And maybe, just maybe, Iran will agree enough
- 2:12:39Speaker 5: to be following the rules of the road that they
- 2:12:42Speaker 5: will be able to join the community of nations. And
- 2:12:44Speaker 5: that means rather than selling to China through ghost ship
- 2:12:47Speaker 5: leads at 20 percent discounts, they're going to be able
- 2:12:49Speaker 5: to sell at full market price into the open markets.
- 2:12:52Speaker 5: For Iran, that would be a tremendous, tremendous win. Now,
- 2:12:57Speaker 5: you know, we also know. that that nation isn't really Persian.
- 2:13:01Speaker 5: It's like 50% to 60% Persian. And even, you know,
- 2:13:07Speaker 5: Azerbaijanis and Armenians, there are a lot of different ethnic
- 2:13:10Speaker 5: groups in that country. And so it's not homogenous. They
- 2:13:13Speaker 5: are not aligned. And they're facing tremendous stress from that side, too.
- 2:13:17Speaker 5: I mentioned, I think, last week that we've been hearing
- 2:13:20Speaker 5: things about the Kurds beginning to get active again. Anybody
- 2:13:24Speaker 5: that is listening... but knows that the Kurds are tough.
- 2:13:27Speaker 5: I mean, these people are not to be fooled with.
- 2:13:31Speaker 5: And we have been backing the Kurds for decades. So
- 2:13:35Speaker 5: this isn't the playing field that we've been told where,
- 2:13:38Speaker 5: you know, it's already over. The Iranians have won. They're
- 2:13:42Speaker 5: facing incredible internal stress that they're going to have to address.
- 2:13:46Speaker 5: So I'm hopeful that Trump can get to an agreement
- 2:13:49Speaker 5: with the Iranians that the strait gets reopened. that the
- 2:13:52Speaker 5: fertilizer begins to flow again, or the elements of fertilizer
- 2:13:55Speaker 5: begin to flow again, the oil flows again, and we
- 2:13:58Speaker 5: don't just get back to the way it was, but
- 2:14:00Speaker 5: rather we get into a better position.
- 2:14:02Speaker 2: It seems to me if Martha Brennan, I think is
- 2:14:05Speaker 2: her name, or that was the woman I was thinking of,
- 2:14:10Speaker 2: that you see that certainly no Trump supporter, let me
- 2:14:12Speaker 2: put it that way. But she was the one saying,
- 2:14:15Speaker 2: she hosts one of those Sunday morning shows. She was
- 2:14:18Speaker 2: the one that was talking to the guy that was
- 2:14:21Speaker 2: involved in the Iran negotiations, who basically has said that
- 2:14:25Speaker 2: that has been agreed to. There will be no nuclear
- 2:14:27Speaker 2: weapon and there will be no, you know, the dust
- 2:14:30Speaker 2: I hear all about and this kind of stuff in Iran.
- 2:14:33Speaker 2: If that has been agreed to and negotiated successfully, I
- 2:14:37Speaker 2: would imagine there's not a whole lot more to negotiate
- 2:14:42Speaker 2: to reach a settlement. If he can get that done,
- 2:14:46Speaker 2: get the Strait back open, no tariffs on going through
- 2:14:49Speaker 2: the Strait, and no nuclear weapons, I don't know how
- 2:14:52Speaker 2: you could only score that as a huge win for Trump,
- 2:14:55Speaker 2: would you not?
- 2:14:56Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely.
- 2:14:58Speaker 5: And if along the way, again, the Houthis, the Hamas,
- 2:15:01Speaker 5: and the Hezbollah folks are somehow no longer going to
- 2:15:07Speaker 5: be lobbing rockets. Now, that issue with Israel and Hamas,
- 2:15:12Speaker 5: what's going on down in Gaza is hard to look at.
- 2:15:18Speaker 5: But if that gets solved as well, then it's a
- 2:15:21Speaker 5: home run. But if he just gets the oil to
- 2:15:24Speaker 5: flow and he gets this agreement, then I think... it's
- 2:15:32Speaker 5: going to be a win. We'll be better off. There
- 2:15:35Speaker 5: is no world in which we can have Iran have
- 2:15:37Speaker 5: a nuclear weapon. We've all agreed with that for 20 years.
- 2:15:40Speaker 5: That's not new. If this comes out right, that will
- 2:15:43Speaker 5: now be locked in even more so than it was
- 2:15:45Speaker 5: when Trump pulled out of that crazy Obama deal.
- 2:15:49Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:15:51Speaker 5: By the way, that deal was set up in a way,
- 2:15:53Speaker 5: if you listen to the secretaries that were in the
- 2:15:55Speaker 5: administration at the time, That deal was set up in
- 2:15:57Speaker 5: a way that would have guaranteed Iran to get them wrong.
- 2:16:00Speaker 5: If you listen to it, you really paid attention. It
- 2:16:02Speaker 5: was that was that deal is terrifying. Trump pulling out
- 2:16:05Speaker 5: of it was a smart play.
- 2:16:08Speaker 2: As I understand it, it's kind of some of that
- 2:16:11Speaker 2: interview where she was talking to the. negotiator or the
- 2:16:15Speaker 2: one of the guys from iran not only would they
- 2:16:17Speaker 2: not agree not to have a nuclear weapon they would
- 2:16:19Speaker 2: also agree to have inspections done with american inspectors being
- 2:16:23Speaker 2: part of the team to do that those if if
- 2:16:26Speaker 2: that is accurate those are two major concessions that that
- 2:16:30Speaker 2: they have made and it seems what you were saying
- 2:16:34Speaker 2: that that they got them on the ropes as far
- 2:16:36Speaker 2: as um opened and negotiating. Let me do my break.
- 2:16:41Speaker 2: Can you a few more minutes?
- 2:16:42Speaker 25: Can you do it?
- 2:16:43Speaker 14: Sure.
- 2:16:43Speaker 2: Let me do that. All right. G2 live from the
- 2:16:45Speaker 2: Covelli Center waiting for the Trump appearance and a full
- 2:16:49Speaker 2: report you'll have on that tomorrow. Back after this.
- 2:16:52Speaker 9: I heart radio.
- 2:16:54Speaker 10: Replace your old bathtub.
- 2:16:56Speaker 1: Weather and talk station 570 WKBN.
- 2:16:58Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, all of this with that Martha Brennan.
- 2:17:04Speaker 2: talking to this guy to say, okay, we're going to
- 2:17:07Speaker 2: be at this point with no nuclear weapons, with American inspectors,
- 2:17:11Speaker 2: and if they can move this along and get an agreement,
- 2:17:14Speaker 2: and then with Trump having the diesel come in from Russia,
- 2:17:19Speaker 2: and if you get an agreement, you can see prices
- 2:17:21Speaker 2: drop pretty dramatically, and I would think the stock market
- 2:17:24Speaker 2: soar before the midterms. I don't know, but there is
- 2:17:29Speaker 2: that possibility, possibly, right?
- 2:17:32Speaker 5: It is a possibility that it could happen in weeks
- 2:17:35Speaker 5: from some of the folks that I've talked to who
- 2:17:37Speaker 5: were talking to folks over there. And if that does happen,
- 2:17:39Speaker 5: then the next move has to be, we've already talked
- 2:17:41Speaker 5: about this, we have got to prioritize the building of
- 2:17:44Speaker 5: refining that has to be on the east and west
- 2:17:46Speaker 5: coast to take the pressure off of the facilities that
- 2:17:49Speaker 5: are still operating. and at levels that are not sustainable.
- 2:17:52Speaker 5: And so you're absolutely right. This is what could happen. And,
- 2:17:55Speaker 5: you know, sometimes we have to just accept a little
- 2:17:57Speaker 5: bit that something good might happen. I understand that the
- 2:18:00Speaker 5: people who hate Trump can't accept it. The people that
- 2:18:02Speaker 5: want the United States to fail can't accept it. I
- 2:18:05Speaker 5: understand the people that hate Israel can't accept it. But
- 2:18:07Speaker 5: sometimes there's a possibility something good should happen, and we
- 2:18:11Speaker 5: should allow that. Now, I'll tell you one more thing.
- 2:18:13Speaker 5: The last time I was in town... I made it
- 2:18:16Speaker 5: to the fireplace so that something good could happen. And
- 2:18:18Speaker 5: I had that Tuscan chicken with that sausage in there.
- 2:18:21Speaker 5: And then he broke out a bourbon that was killer.
- 2:18:26Speaker 5: I had some great bourbon.
- 2:18:28Speaker 13: I don't know if I'm.
- 2:18:28Speaker 5: Going to make it back this trip because of the
- 2:18:30Speaker 5: way timing is working out. Sometimes we've got to let
- 2:18:33Speaker 5: good things happen. And I'm going to tell you, man,
- 2:18:35Speaker 5: it was fabulous.
- 2:18:36Speaker 2: Just as a side note, and I want to talk
- 2:18:39Speaker 2: about it tomorrow, what about this firing squad execution of
- 2:18:43Speaker 2: the guy that, and at the same time that that
- 2:18:46Speaker 2: guy did the murders December 3rd, 2026 at Fort Hood?
- 2:18:53Speaker 2: I'm all for it.
- 2:18:56Speaker 5: I've got to tell you, what that man did is
- 2:18:58Speaker 5: so heinous, so egregious. I'm okay with it. I understand
- 2:19:02Speaker 5: it makes Americans queasy, but at some point we have
- 2:19:05Speaker 5: to realize we live in a harsh world, and we
- 2:19:07Speaker 5: have to stand up for this nation, and that's going
- 2:19:10Speaker 5: to take harsh action. And, you know, I say do it.
- 2:19:15Speaker 2: And I've got to tell you, I was looking at
- 2:19:16Speaker 2: the picture that you sent from Covelli. I mean, you've
- 2:19:19Speaker 2: got to admit, it's a pretty decent-sized crowd. Now, of course,
- 2:19:22Speaker 2: the media will always be negative on it when it
- 2:19:25Speaker 2: comes to the crowd, but as you pointed out, in
- 2:19:28Speaker 2: my lifetime... Maybe when I was very young, the only
- 2:19:33Speaker 2: guy that drew huge crowds was probably John F. Kennedy,
- 2:19:36Speaker 2: maybe Ronald Reagan. But for somebody to draw this type
- 2:19:40Speaker 2: of crowd that Trump is drawing, the picture that you
- 2:19:43Speaker 2: sent me is pretty impressive for people to show up
- 2:19:46Speaker 2: for something like that, even if no one else comes
- 2:19:50Speaker 2: based on what I see. But the media will always
- 2:19:52Speaker 2: portray it negatively.
- 2:19:53Speaker 3: Well, that's right.
- 2:19:54Speaker 5: Remember, that was an hour and 15 or an hour
- 2:19:56Speaker 5: and a half ago. So since that time, a lot
- 2:19:59Speaker 5: of folks have still rolled in. So when I get
- 2:20:02Speaker 5: back in the arena, I'll see what it looks like.
- 2:20:05Speaker 5: But I've got to tell you, 10 days, Monday, beautiful day,
- 2:20:09Speaker 5: and this place is filled like this. People dancing.
- 2:20:12Speaker 21: It's amazing.
- 2:20:13Speaker 5: This is the kind of energy that this country needs.
- 2:20:16Speaker 5: We need to be happy again. And right now, tonight,
- 2:20:19Speaker 5: in this place, we're doing it.
- 2:20:20Speaker 2: And we look forward to your analysis on it tomorrow,
- 2:20:23Speaker 2: you know, of how it went, the speech, and kind
- 2:20:27Speaker 2: of your assessment of it all and your thoughts if
- 2:20:30Speaker 2: you join us tomorrow.
- 2:20:31Speaker 5: All right.
- 2:20:32Speaker 6: Excellent.
- 2:20:32Speaker 2: We'll chat tomorrow. Thank you. Stay tuned. And thank you, G2.
- 2:20:35Speaker 2: Stay tuned. Rockport Wealth Truth in Investing program coming up.
- 2:20:38Speaker 2: Guardians later.
