- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, everybody, Brian Smith here with the I&Team series and your daily influence.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: And today, we are going to continue talking about intentional operation about our drift, the shining things that are happening to us, and how we can start designing.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: So what we don't drift into success, but a lot of leaders drift into their days.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: They react, they respond, but they stay busy,
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: with true intent and over time that drift creates misalignment between what they say matters and how they actually spend their time.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: Today I want to talk about a discipline that separates reactive leaders from intentional ones operating with intent.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, look, activity is not intent.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: Most leaders are active, but not always intentional.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: And they fill their calendars.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: They respond quickly.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: And they stay in motion, but motion is not direction.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: Intent requires clarity.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: What matters today?
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: What moves the business forward?
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: And what aligns with the bigger plan?
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: In a smart system, intent shows up as clearly defined objectives, measurable progress, and time-bound actions.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: If your day is not tied to something measurable,
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: So if everything feels urgent, nothing is intentional.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: Intent must be designed, not assumed.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have intent, you design it.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: Most leaders assume I know what I'm doing, but if it's not written, scheduled, and structured, it's not really intent that's memory.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: Intent lives in structure, your calendar, your priorities, your communication.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: This is where you are planning becomes powerful.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: You can connect long-term vision, mid-term strategy, and short-term execution or the tactics to reach your goals and objectives.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: And now your day isn't random, it's all lined.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: It reckons, styles, to where you are and where you're going.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: Then if it's not designed into your system, it won't show up if you're a, your warrior teams made.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: Look at the drift to be extremely subtle, but it compounds.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't often times feel like failure.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like I had a full day.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: I got a lot done.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I handled a lot of issues or I'm busy.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: But over weeks and months, drift creates mispriorities, delay execution, and frustrated teams, and most importantly, get a road's trust in your leadership.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: Because your team watches what you do,
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: Intentional leaders create consistency.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: Their actions match their priorities, their timely flex their values, and their teams, know what matters.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: Drift compounds quietly, but so does intent.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: Operating with intent is not about doing more.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's about doing what matters on purpose.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: When you design your day with clarity, structure, and align me, you start reacting to the business and you start leading it.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: So if you found value in this episode, follow us.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: Share this with your network and continue building your influence, one intentional action at a time.
