Latest / Foul Territory / Orioles Reality Check w/Steve Melewski: Superstars starting slow & Jackson Holliday update
Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: Steve Oluski joining us right now. He's covered the Orioles
- 0:06Speaker 1: for decades and now he is a part of the
- 0:08Speaker 1: ft fan Birdland Territory announced late last night. Steve, congratulations
- 0:14Speaker 1: on the debut of the show. It is great to
- 0:16Speaker 1: have you on here and we're going to dive into
- 0:17Speaker 1: the Orioles, but first give us a little taste of
- 0:20Speaker 1: what everyone can expect on the show. And the rest
- 0:23Speaker 1: of your teammates that are going to be contributing, well, we.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Are thrilled that we finally got to the finish line.
- 0:30Speaker 2: We had some ups and downs along the way, but
- 0:33Speaker 2: I love the team we have on Birdland Territory. You know,
- 0:37Speaker 2: Tim Barblace is up and comer at one of five
- 0:40Speaker 2: to seven the fan in Baltimore, co host of the
- 0:43Speaker 2: afternoon show Inside Access, and of course Brad Brock. He
- 0:47Speaker 2: made his lone All Star game on the Orioles Watch
- 0:50Speaker 2: in twenty sixteen and was part of that great bullpen
- 0:53Speaker 2: the Bob they called him, you know, brock Odey in
- 0:56Speaker 2: Britain seventh, eighth, and ninth and they won a lot
- 0:59Speaker 2: of games because of those guys, and Brad was outstanding
- 1:02Speaker 2: on our first show that debuted last night and all,
- 1:06Speaker 2: we're getting a lot of subscribers, a lot of people watching,
- 1:09Speaker 2: so that's great, and so bout Territory. Birdland Territory edition
- 1:13Speaker 2: is here finally, and so we look forward to a
- 1:17Speaker 2: lot of exciting things and hopefully some more wins to
- 1:20Speaker 2: talk about. We don't control that part of it, but
- 1:22Speaker 2: we'll be there. We'll probably have another show published on
- 1:26Speaker 2: Wednesday night coming up. Yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 3: First off, Bob led to a lot of sleepless nights
- 1:33Speaker 3: during my time with Toronto. Secondly, there's only going to
- 1:37Speaker 3: be one Al's team on top of the ratings when
- 1:41Speaker 3: this season's open. That's gonna be Bluebird Territory. So I
- 1:43Speaker 3: want to get that straight. But all serious, list, what
- 1:47Speaker 3: do you got? What do you go with this Oriole team?
- 1:48Speaker 3: Because I went on Bluebird Territory and talked about I
- 1:51Speaker 3: felt like the Orioles had the makings of what Toronto
- 1:54Speaker 3: was able to do last year, a team that maybe
- 1:57Speaker 3: isn't expected to win the division, but have all the
- 2:00Speaker 3: makings and the parts to go on a deep run
- 2:03Speaker 3: in the postseason. Do you still feel that way after
- 2:06Speaker 3: you know, a handful of games to start the season.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Okay, I was going to say the role model for
- 2:10Speaker 2: the twenty six Oriols of the twenty five Blue Jays
- 2:13Speaker 2: who gained twenty wins and went to the top of
- 2:15Speaker 2: the Vision. The Oriols would obviously love to go seventy
- 2:17Speaker 2: five to ninety five. That's tougher when you start three
- 2:20Speaker 2: and six. So right now, all the good vibes from spring,
- 2:24Speaker 2: where they had great chemistry, Everything Albernez was doing was working,
- 2:29Speaker 2: you know, Pete Alonzo couldn't do anything wrong, and so
- 2:33Speaker 2: we need to see that again because some of those
- 2:35Speaker 2: vibes get washed away in a three and six start,
- 2:38Speaker 2: And right now the Oriols haven't had much to hang
- 2:40Speaker 2: their hat on. The rotation outside of Rogers and one
- 2:43Speaker 2: Boss start has been shaky. The defense has really had
- 2:46Speaker 2: some lapses, both physical and mental, and some of the
- 2:49Speaker 2: key hitters Alonzo and Gunner are really not locked in yet.
- 2:52Speaker 2: So that's still to come a work in progress, but
- 2:55Speaker 2: the Oriols certainly hope as the year goes on they
- 2:58Speaker 2: are going to rank higher than eleventh in the league.
- 3:00Speaker 2: In Runsberg game.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Was part of hitting is you have to hit together
- 3:05Speaker 4: cohesively as a lineup. It's not it's an it's a
- 3:09Speaker 4: team game played by individuals, not an individual game played
- 3:13Speaker 4: by teams. Do you feel like I get it, it's
- 3:17Speaker 4: only nine games, but the lack of consistent cohesive lineup
- 3:22Speaker 4: affects some of these guys, even though some of them
- 3:24Speaker 4: have played together. They pluy, they plunk Ward into the lineup,
- 3:29Speaker 4: they plunk Pete Alonso into the lineup. And now O'Neil
- 3:32Speaker 4: is actually in the lineup and he's healthy unlike other years.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Do you feel like this lineup cohesiveness where there's not
- 3:40Speaker 4: much Kobe Mayo Alexander's play and like they're they're just
- 3:44Speaker 4: almost trying to mix and match too much early on
- 3:47Speaker 4: because it's not working out well.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Maybe, but I mean they have had the same top
- 3:52Speaker 2: three for all nine games. They've had Ward first, Gunner second,
- 3:56Speaker 2: and Alonzo third fourth. They've had retchmen in sometimes Pasao
- 4:00Speaker 2: if Posio is starting a catcher, so there's been some
- 4:03Speaker 2: line of consistency at the top. And so I just
- 4:06Speaker 2: think they just don't have enough guys hitting right now,
- 4:09Speaker 2: and that will change, because if there's one thing that's
- 4:12Speaker 2: an expectation for the twenty six Orioles, it's they're going
- 4:15Speaker 2: to score some runs. A good young Corps Gunner, Adelie Kowser,
- 4:19Speaker 2: and then the veteran guys Ward added to the mix
- 4:22Speaker 2: with Alonso. So they just haven't got rolling yet. I
- 4:26Speaker 2: mean they've scored two runs the less five times. That's
- 4:29Speaker 2: just not good enough. So and Brett Bradbrock made a
- 4:31Speaker 2: good point at our show last night that he said,
- 4:33Speaker 2: you know, some good things have happened at the bottom
- 4:36Speaker 2: of the order, and he thinks the lineup will be
- 4:38Speaker 2: good throughout and then the bottom will kick off some
- 4:40Speaker 2: things for the top as some guys get yelling. But
- 4:43Speaker 2: right now, Kobe meyos three for twenty, Kowser's had some
- 4:46Speaker 2: good at bats, some not. You know, Samuel Bissio hasn't
- 4:49Speaker 2: gotten locked in yet. So a lot of guys really
- 4:53Speaker 2: outside of Ward maybe are not really swinging it right now.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I know it's still a relative small sample sign in
- 5:01Speaker 3: Attlee Rushman's career, but the stats say when he goes
- 5:06Speaker 3: this Oriole team goes. Do you still believe he's kind
- 5:08Speaker 3: of the catalyst for their lineup or do you think
- 5:11Speaker 3: some of that responsibility has kind of been pushed off
- 5:15Speaker 3: into more of a pied Alonzo Taylor, Ward, Gunner, Henderson Trio.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he's one of many right now. He
- 5:22Speaker 2: doesn't have to be the straw that stirs at so
- 5:24Speaker 2: to speak, he or Gunner, and I think that'll be
- 5:26Speaker 2: a relief to those guys. But Rutchman, I should have
- 5:29Speaker 2: mentioned he and He and Ward have really been the
- 5:31Speaker 2: two guys getting off the good starts. And Rutchmond the
- 5:34Speaker 2: signs are good all over. His exit velocity is up.
- 5:37Speaker 2: He's actually attacked a couple first pitches, which he almost
- 5:41Speaker 2: has never done in the past, with some good results.
- 5:43Speaker 2: He's hitting the ball harder, he's swinging and missing almost
- 5:48Speaker 2: you know, completely putting balls in play. So the the
- 5:52Speaker 2: statcast metrics right now, if you look at his page,
- 5:55Speaker 2: it's all in the red. It looks very good for Rutchmand.
- 5:57Speaker 2: But in fairness, he got off to a really good
- 5:59Speaker 2: start last year and by the end of April was
- 6:02Speaker 2: not hitting. So I think Oil fans want to see more.
- 6:05Speaker 2: But the early signs are very, very encouraging.
- 6:09Speaker 1: With over thirty five million downloads. What is the number
- 6:13Speaker 1: one rated ticketing app, Todd Father.
- 6:15Speaker 5: It's simple Man Seek Geek. As we know, man, they
- 6:18Speaker 5: have a lot of things that helps you out along
- 6:20Speaker 5: the way. They have green dots meaning good and red
- 6:23Speaker 5: dots meaning bad. And it's on a scale of one
- 6:24Speaker 5: to ten, showing you, Scott, how good the seats are.
- 6:28Speaker 5: And sometimes you want to sit in the nosebleeds theer's
- 6:30Speaker 5: sometimes you want to sit in really good seats and Scott,
- 6:32Speaker 5: you know the code.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Right, yeah, I do.
- 6:33Speaker 1: And also I know that you always like a good deal.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Oh so Seek helps you out all the time with that.
- 6:38Speaker 1: They also help you out with the exclusive FT code
- 6:41Speaker 1: which is Territory ten for ten percent off your next

- 6:54Speaker 1: the description to download the app and you can have
- 6:56Speaker 1: that code automatically added to your account so that you
- 6:58Speaker 1: can use it later. There are regular season MLB games
- 7:01Speaker 1: going on right now. There are hot tickets across the country,
- 7:05Speaker 1: so make sure you go to seat Geek. They will
- 7:07Speaker 1: take care.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Of you all right.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Well, you said early on or even throughout the year,
- 7:13Speaker 4: it's gonna be a team that's gonna score runs. They'll
- 7:16Speaker 4: get Jackson Holiday back, all that stuff. The rotation, the
- 7:20Speaker 4: rotation against the Pirates team that it's improved, but I
- 7:23Speaker 4: think they had almost an eight e r A in
- 7:25Speaker 4: the Pirates series. Is this something that can be remedied
- 7:31Speaker 4: with a better Kyle Braddis with a consistent Shane Boz
- 7:34Speaker 4: being out there who actually had, you know, had a
- 7:37Speaker 4: great start. You can only throw Tyler rod Rogers a
- 7:40Speaker 4: couple times one time, you know, every five days. But
- 7:45Speaker 4: is this rotation really just gonna be this the entire
- 7:49Speaker 4: year or have there been signs in some of this
- 7:52Speaker 4: losing that Okay, they're throwing strikes but they're unlucky or
- 7:56Speaker 4: something like that that Orioles fans can be like, Okay,
- 7:59Speaker 4: we'll take this with a grain of salt.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Well, they just have underperformed so far. Outside of Trevor
- 8:06Speaker 2: Rodgers the games he started, he's pitched all one thirty
- 8:10Speaker 2: eight and the Oriels are two and oh the other
- 8:12Speaker 2: seven games the rotation era is six thirty seven and
- 8:17Speaker 2: they are one and six. They've really only gotten one
- 8:20Speaker 2: other good started with Shane Bobs Saturday when he went
- 8:22Speaker 2: five and two thirds one unnerned run aloud in that
- 8:26Speaker 2: game against the Pirates. But you know, Chris Bassett two
- 8:29Speaker 2: starts as the ra is fourteen he's just not locating
- 8:32Speaker 2: right now, and so Zach Eflin is already on the
- 8:36Speaker 2: injured list, going to see doctor Meister in Texas tomorrow,
- 8:40Speaker 2: and that sounds ominous. So Dean Kramer started the year
- 8:43Speaker 2: Triple A, is pitched once and he could be back.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Brandon Young is getting called up to make the start tonight,
- 8:50Speaker 2: and then Rogers turns over the rotation back at the
- 8:53Speaker 2: top tomorrow and Bradish has to get going. He's at
- 8:57Speaker 2: two unbradish like starts, so else feel good about their rotation,
- 9:02Speaker 2: but right now the numbers don't support that, and they
- 9:04Speaker 2: feel like it's obviously got to get better because outside
- 9:08Speaker 2: of Rogers, if you have everybody else pitching to a six,
- 9:11Speaker 2: that's not going to work.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Yeah, speaking injuries, what sort of update do you have
- 9:17Speaker 3: on Jackson Holiday and his timeframe? When do they expect
- 9:20Speaker 3: him to be back in the lineup?
- 9:23Speaker 2: I think soon, And there was even some Birdland fans
- 9:28Speaker 2: hope that tonight could be that because I think he
- 9:30Speaker 2: might have gotten scratched from a doubleheader game too last night.
- 9:34Speaker 2: But he's only had about fifteen or twenty at bats
- 9:36Speaker 2: in Triple A, so if they wanted to rush him
- 9:39Speaker 2: back this series, they probably could, but I think the
- 9:43Speaker 2: thinking is give him another few games. This is his
- 9:46Speaker 2: spring training. He's only had you know, less than really
- 9:49Speaker 2: two weeks at Triple A, and then he'll get back
- 9:52Speaker 2: there and then we'll see how they use them. You know,
- 9:56Speaker 2: they really like what Blaize Alexander has done so far
- 9:59Speaker 2: since they acquired him, playing really good defense. He's had
- 10:02Speaker 2: some couple clutch hits already. But Jackson Holliday and Jordan
- 10:06Speaker 2: Westburg right now, yeah, they're without two of their starting infielders.
- 10:10Speaker 4: All right, we talked about rotation, lineup, bullpen. We haven't
- 10:14Speaker 4: hit on I'm not even gonna hit on it yet.
- 10:16Speaker 4: But my question is when you look at the beginning
- 10:19Speaker 4: of a season, yes, it matters who you play. And
- 10:22Speaker 4: the beginning of this season they have played the Rangers,
- 10:25Speaker 4: who were supposed to be a good team. The Twins
- 10:27Speaker 4: are supposed to be bad, the Pirates. Everybody thinks the
- 10:30Speaker 4: Pirates are bad, and now they go to the White Sox.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Shouldn't this have been a six and three start or
- 10:35Speaker 4: a nine and three or seven and four start because
- 10:40Speaker 4: of the fact that later on in April is when
- 10:43Speaker 4: they first start to hit the American League Beast, that
- 10:48Speaker 4: is the American League East. So is this more of
- 10:51Speaker 4: an eyebrow raising start that could make people a little
- 10:55Speaker 4: bit more nervous than it should in the beginning of April?
- 10:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so. So I think what people are
- 11:01Speaker 2: having flashbacks because after nine games last year they were
- 11:04Speaker 2: four and five already like three games out. Now they're
- 11:07Speaker 2: three and six and they're four games out, and they
- 11:10Speaker 2: just have looked bad doing it. Again. There's been physical errors,
- 11:14Speaker 2: mental errors, a couple pfps messed up, Bradish not pitched,
- 11:19Speaker 2: not locked in yet, Alonso not locked in Gunner. So
- 11:22Speaker 2: guys they feel good about obviously, these are some of
- 11:25Speaker 2: the best players on the team and maybe in the
- 11:27Speaker 2: league that are gonna go. But right now they're not
- 11:30Speaker 2: so Oriel fans are having flashbacks. I mean last year
- 11:33Speaker 2: it extended to twelve and eighteen the start, and then
- 11:36Speaker 2: in mid May Brandon Hyde was dismissed and they never
- 11:40Speaker 2: really got back in it. So we know, you know,
- 11:44Speaker 2: the Nationals a couple of years ago, fifty games were
- 11:46Speaker 2: under five hundred by like fifteen games who won the
- 11:49Speaker 2: World Series. So you can overcome it. But again, when
- 11:52Speaker 2: you won seventy five, when you had a terrible start
- 11:54Speaker 2: last year, and you have to be honest with the
- 11:58Speaker 2: fans here. They look the right now as they did
- 12:01Speaker 2: early on last year. There is a concern level their
- 12:04Speaker 2: first eighteen games on paper, we're against non playoff teams
- 12:08Speaker 2: from last year and now they're halfway through that.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Is there any concern in the Baltimore area with Pete
- 12:15Speaker 3: Alonso's batspeed being down a little bit early in the season,
- 12:20Speaker 3: orld you kind of chalk that up maybe to playing
- 12:22Speaker 3: in a new division for the first time, maybe not
- 12:24Speaker 3: having as much confidence facing some of the guys he's
- 12:27Speaker 3: been seeing.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I don't think there's that concern yet, But I mean,
- 12:33Speaker 2: if he's hitting two fifteen in another couple of weeks,
- 12:36Speaker 2: people will start dissecting this more and more and you know,
- 12:40Speaker 2: start looking for him to get it done. But right now,
- 12:43Speaker 2: he's still in the honeymoon phase with those fans. He's
- 12:46Speaker 2: just been incredible with the fans. He's been great with
- 12:49Speaker 2: his teammates. He's so engaged. He was that way off spring,
- 12:53Speaker 2: you know, calling mound meetings and spring training games to say,
- 12:57Speaker 2: we got to clean it up. And so you know,
- 13:00Speaker 2: the scenes, who knows what he's doing with the players.
- 13:02Speaker 2: You are in the clubhouse right now, but I'm sure
- 13:05Speaker 2: he's taking a role because he's quickly become the leader
- 13:07Speaker 2: of the Orioles. I think the even the clubhouse is
- 13:10Speaker 2: all for that, the fans are all for that. So
- 13:13Speaker 2: right now, no one's getting on Pete Lonzo's case. But
- 13:16Speaker 2: another week or two of his mediocre baseball and that
- 13:19Speaker 2: could change.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Hey, we're still in the honeymoon phase.
- 13:23Speaker 2: We better be with Berlin Territory. It just launched, yes too,
- 13:29Speaker 2: give us a couple of weeks.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I'm loving it. First episode was great, awesome to have
- 13:35Speaker 1: you on here. Yes, it was a long time coming,
- 13:37Speaker 1: but I think it ends up in the perfect spot.
- 13:40Speaker 1: So congrats on the first show. Looking forward to the
- 13:43Speaker 1: next one, probably on Wednesday night.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Thank you, Steve, you got it, guys, anytime, have a
- 13:48Speaker 2: great show.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Something else from the weekend that now feels like a
- 13:51Speaker 1: million years ago.
- 13:53Speaker 3: KP.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Connor Griffin made his debut, the much anticipated debut of
- 13:58Speaker 1: a teenager who is asked to help the Pirates get
- 14:01Speaker 1: back to the postseason. They had a huge weekend sweeping
- 14:05Speaker 1: the Oriols. We'll get to that part later when we
- 14:07Speaker 1: talk Oriols with Steve but for now he had one knock,
- 14:11Speaker 1: so he's won for nine. That knock happened to come
- 14:13Speaker 1: in his first at bat, where he drove in a
- 14:14Speaker 1: run and then later scored. The cool part for me
- 14:17Speaker 1: was how he mentioned that he had used hit tracks
- 14:20Speaker 1: and simmed basically that moment many times. To me, that
- 14:24Speaker 1: was cool and spoke to the modern technology that does
- 14:27Speaker 1: help hitters. There's more to help pitchers, but there there's
- 14:29Speaker 1: a little bit to help hitters.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you know, all nineteen years of his life,
- 14:34Speaker 3: he's been preparing for that moment. You know. Typically, you know,
- 14:37Speaker 3: it'd be something I would start doing after college, going
- 14:40Speaker 3: through the minor leagues, maybe in the off season that
- 14:42Speaker 3: come home and start kind of dreaming about, you know,
- 14:45Speaker 3: obviously drafted by the Blue Jays, about hitting in the
- 14:48Speaker 3: Rogers Center.
- 14:49Speaker 2: And getting used to it. So it's just kind of
- 14:50Speaker 2: funny when you.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Hear it from a nineteen year old's perspective, like, oh,
- 14:53Speaker 3: I've been doing it my whole life.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, well, it's really nineteen years of your life.
- 14:57Speaker 3: But the thing that the biggest thing that I took away,
- 15:00Speaker 3: except that he looks the part at nineteen years old.
- 15:03Speaker 2: And yeah, he's one for nine.
- 15:04Speaker 3: But if you watch the at bath and to me,
- 15:07Speaker 3: I tuned in because I mean, it's kind of historic
- 15:09Speaker 3: to have a nineteen year old kind of play shortstop
- 15:12Speaker 3: in the major leagues. But we always talk about, you know,
- 15:16Speaker 3: when you put a good product on the field, or
- 15:18Speaker 3: when you have a prospect with this much hype. I
- 15:21Speaker 3: just looked at the city of Pittsburgh and the stadium
- 15:23Speaker 3: there and what it looked like and what it could be.
- 15:26Speaker 3: And you know, obviously they're rolling right now. So it's
- 15:28Speaker 3: a team to watch, and you know, hopefully once again
- 15:32Speaker 3: it's a reminder to all these owners if you go
- 15:34Speaker 3: out and spend a little bit of money, you put
- 15:36Speaker 3: a good product on the field. You have the number
- 15:38Speaker 3: one prospect in baseball, and you allow him to go
- 15:41Speaker 3: out there and play, you're going to reap the benefits
- 15:44Speaker 3: of people coming and being excited.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Yeah, the Pirates look pretty damn good right now from
- 15:50Speaker 1: a run prevention standpoint. Also, for as much crap as
- 15:53Speaker 1: O'Neil Cruz got in center field in the first few
- 15:56Speaker 1: days of the season, KP and most people aren't wrong.
- 15:59Speaker 1: He certainly has worked do there. He's hitting, he's got
- 16:02Speaker 1: four homers. He looks much better. I think he's already
- 16:04Speaker 1: got more homers against lefties now than he has all
- 16:07Speaker 1: of last year. So things are moving in the right
- 16:10Speaker 1: direction for the team. I know we talk a lot
- 16:11Speaker 1: about schemes and now we'll talk about Connor Griffin, but
- 16:14Speaker 1: it's really about the rest. Like there is a star
- 16:17Speaker 1: or two there, going back to Andrew McCutchen in his prime,
- 16:19Speaker 1: it's hey, are you going to fill out the rest
- 16:20Speaker 1: of the roster. They've definitely done a better job of
- 16:22Speaker 1: that heading into this year. I think there's no doubt
- 16:24Speaker 1: about that. Will it be sustainable, I don't know.
- 16:29Speaker 3: We'll find out, but yeah, I mean I love what
- 16:31Speaker 3: they did this offseason. They went out and they made
- 16:33Speaker 3: some moves. And did they go out and acquire you know,
- 16:36Speaker 3: we're signed some superstars.
- 16:37Speaker 2: No, but they got some.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Very good major league quality baseball players to kind of
- 16:41Speaker 3: round out their roster. And if you look at their
- 16:43Speaker 3: lineup one through nine, it's a much deeper lineup than
- 16:46Speaker 3: it has ever been and allows guys like O'Neil, Cruz
- 16:50Speaker 3: and Reynolds at the top of the order to have
- 16:52Speaker 3: some more protection as that lineup gets a little bit
- 16:54Speaker 3: towards the bottom. But you know O'Neil Cruz got hammered
- 16:59Speaker 3: early in the season and then probably rightfully so because
- 17:01Speaker 3: some of those plays he made. You know, a majority
- 17:04Speaker 3: of major league center fielders go out and make those plays.
- 17:07Speaker 4: One.
- 17:07Speaker 3: It's not an easy transition when you've been an infielder
- 17:10Speaker 3: your entire life to go out and play center field.
- 17:12Speaker 3: And then I've heard people talk about take him out
- 17:14Speaker 3: of centerfield and put him in a corner, and I say,
- 17:16Speaker 3: that's the worst decision you can make. As someone who
- 17:18Speaker 3: played center field for the majority of his career and
- 17:21Speaker 3: then played the corners later. And I was always an
- 17:24Speaker 3: outfielder since I was probably in high school. I've been
- 17:26Speaker 3: an outfielder. Playing the corners is way more challenging, especially
- 17:31Speaker 3: for a guy who's never played the outfield before. Your
- 17:34Speaker 3: easiest reads are going to be in center field. Yes,
- 17:36Speaker 3: sometimes you have to deal with the sun. You got
- 17:38Speaker 3: to deal with that everywhere you go. But he just
- 17:40Speaker 3: needs to continue to work out there. They need to
- 17:42Speaker 3: continue to build confidence in him out there. It's gonna
- 17:46Speaker 3: be it's gonna there's gonna be some ups and downs.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Whenever you take a guy uh from the middle endfield
- 17:51Speaker 3: and put him in center field.
- 17:53Speaker 2: But he's an athletic guy. He's going to figure it
- 17:55Speaker 2: out eventually.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Also, the staft by the way too on the run
- 18:00Speaker 1: wrench and sidecrats is the rotation is the only one
- 18:02Speaker 1: in MLB right now without allowing a homer. Again, it's
- 18:05Speaker 1: only a week and a half, but the nine game
- 18:07Speaker 1: streak is the longest to start a season in baseball
- 18:09Speaker 1: since the twenty eighteen Giants. Pretty tough to go a
- 18:12Speaker 1: week and a half without getting up a home run
- 18:13Speaker 1: from your rotation.
- 18:15Speaker 4: This starting rotation is really good, even getting rid of
- 18:18Speaker 4: some of the guys that they got rid of, like,
- 18:20Speaker 4: it's a good starting rotation with good defense. So let
- 18:24Speaker 4: the boys make the plays and don't let it go
- 18:27Speaker 4: out of the ballpark.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Yep.
