- 1:03Every one of us experience storms in our lives.
- 1:07Some storms come through sickness, financial pressure, broken relationships,
- 1:13grief, fear, or uncertainty.
- 1:16Sometimes the storm is outside of us, and at other times the storm is within us.
- 1:21Oftentimes during these difficult
- 1:23times in our lives, we find ourselves asking, where is God in my storm?
- 1:27We pray, but heaven seems silent. We ask God for help, but the circumstances
- 1:32do not immediately change.
- 1:35We wonder, Lord, do you see me? Do you care?
- 1:39Join us in this podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim takes us on a
- 1:43journey through the scriptures, revealing how God's presence brings quietness
- 1:48into the chaos and the storms of our lives,
- 1:51teaching us to place our faith in Christ and not in our circumstances,
- 1:56not in our own strength and not in our ability to predict what will happen in the future.
- 2:02Hello, and thank you for joining us in this podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries.
- 2:07It never ceases to amaze me how when we sit in Scripture, the Lord reveals exactly
- 2:14what we need, when we need it, and how we need it.
- 2:19But there are also times that I believe he stores up.
- 2:24Information and truths and comfort in our minds and our hearts and the secret recesses of our bodies,
- 2:35to help us when we need it.
- 2:40In John chapter 14, we are told that he will bring to remembrance those things
- 2:46that we have need of when we have needed them.
- 2:49And I fully believe that the truths found in this passage of Scripture that
- 2:56we are getting ready to read in Luke 8, verses 22 through 25,
- 3:02are verses for such a time that,
- 3:08as this in my life. And I think it's stored up for such a time in the future,
- 3:17because no doubt the devil wants to attack and hurt and defeat every born-again believer.
- 3:26But those who are committed and purposed in their heart to trust in him and
- 3:32to serve him, they've got a target on their back.
- 3:37Don't ever forget that 1 Peter 5.8 says that we are to be careful,
- 3:42be vigilant, because our adversary the devil walketh about like a roaring lion
- 3:48seeking whom he may devour.
- 3:50But today's truths, when carried in our heart and employed with our life.
- 3:58Will keep us above love, the drama, the chaos, the hurt, and the pain that the
- 4:05devil surely wants to inflict upon us. Let's pray.
- 4:13Our kind and most gracious to Heavenly Father, Lord, I thank you for this,
- 4:16another opportunity to come before you.
- 4:19I thank you for your love and your mercy and your amazing grace,
- 4:22and I thank you for your word.
- 4:24Lord, I love your word. I love how it's timely when I read it,
- 4:31how it sticks with me, and when I need it, it becomes timely then.
- 4:36I love how it's relevant now. It was relevant when it was written,
- 4:40and it will be relevant always.
- 4:44I thank you that just the right words are sweetness to my soul.
- 4:51I thank you, Lord, that they're like pictures of silver and apples of gold.
- 4:58I thank you, Lord, that by it we can subdue the devil.
- 5:03Through it, we can be empowered. And Lord, today I ask that you empower each
- 5:10of us to hear and understand exactly what you have for us.
- 5:15Lord, we love you. We praise you and we thank you. And may you be high and lifted up.
- 5:21And may you remove me as far as the east is from the west.
- 5:25And may this message touch the hearts and minds of everyone who listens exactly,
- 5:32as you have orchestrated.
- 5:35In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
- 5:39Luke 8, verses 22 through 25 go like this.
- 5:44Now it came to pass on a certain day that he went into a ship with his disciples,
- 5:49and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake.
- 5:54And they launched forth. But as they sailed, he fell asleep.
- 6:00And there came down a storm of wind on the lake, and they were filled with water and were in jeopardy.
- 6:06And they came to him and awoke him, saying, Master, Master, we perish.
- 6:12Then he arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water,
- 6:16and they ceased, and there was a calm.
- 6:19And he said unto them, Where is your faith?
- 6:24And they said, being afraid, wondered, saying one to another,
- 6:29What manner of man is this?
- 6:31For he commanded even the winds and the water, and they obeyed.
- 6:37May God have his richest blessing on the reading of his word.
- 6:44Luke 8, 22-25 reminds us that the presence of Jesus does not mean the absence of storms.
- 6:53Let that soak in for just a moment. The presence of Jesus does not mean the absence of storms.
- 7:04The disciples were obeying Jesus. He had told them to go on to the other side.
- 7:10They got on the boat, and they were moving to the other side of the lake.
- 7:14Yet there was a storm.
- 7:17The presence of Jesus does not mean the absence of storm.
- 7:21They were obeying, yet they still encountered a violent storm.
- 7:26But Luke 8, 22 through 25 teaches us that when Christ is with us,
- 7:31no storm has the final word.
- 7:35Nothing is more powerful than the Lord.
- 7:40Nothing is greater than him. All things are under his feet.
- 7:46But as you look at Luke 8, verses 22 through 25, we see some incredible truths revealed to us.
- 7:58First one I'd like to bring to your hearing is to expand a little more on that,
- 8:03opening statement that the presence of Jesus doesn't mean the absence of storm.
- 8:09I want you to look how he says in verse 22, he tells them that let us go over
- 8:15unto the other side of the lake, and they launched forth.
- 8:20He spoke, he gave a command, and they listened, and they obeyed.
- 8:26Obedience does not make us immune to the storms.
- 8:32Living in the center of God's will does not make you immune to life's storms.
- 8:39And if you think about it for a moment, you're going to easily understand why that is so.
- 8:45The devil is the prince of the power of this world, and he's seeking each and
- 8:49every one of us to devour us.
- 8:53And the Lord says, but without faith, it is impossible to please him,
- 8:57and you must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek them.
- 9:03Faith is required for a faithful service to the Lord.
- 9:07Faith is required to be a born-again, true believer in Christ Jesus.
- 9:12Salvation is dependent upon our faith in Christ Jesus and the work he has done on the cross.
- 9:20Therefore, when we face a storm, our faith is going to get us through it.
- 9:28Because faith will unlock the doors of heaven's blessing and Christ's power.
- 9:36Being obedient doesn't mean you won't have storms.
- 9:41I would almost be safe to say the more obedient you are, the more storms you're going to see.
- 9:47In this passage of scripture, Jesus says, let us go over to the other side of the lake.
- 9:52They follow the directions, they enter the boat, and they begin the journey.
- 9:57Yet while obeying Jesus, while doing exactly what he says, they find themselves
- 10:04in a scary, frightful situation.
- 10:07They find themselves in a place that they don't understand what is happening.
- 10:12They don't understand if they're going to make it. They're scared.
- 10:17Yet they're obedient it's important that you catch how they're feeling that you,
- 10:25recognize they're in a storm and that you know,
- 10:30they are fully obedient because sometimes people assume that when we have difficulties
- 10:38it's because we've out stepped outside the will of god or we've sinned in some
- 10:43egregious or hideous way.
- 10:45Sometimes people will judge you and say, well, you reap what you sow,
- 10:49and that is true. Galatians tells us that.
- 10:53But everything that happens to us, though it is sifted through nail-scarred
- 10:58hands and it's part of God's plan, it certainly isn't because we've been outside the will of God.
- 11:05So cool the jets on your judgment.
- 11:09Worry about staying in the center of God's will for your own life.
- 11:15These disciples were in full obedience, yet they were also in a full-blown storm.
- 11:24I don't know what storm you're walking through. Our storms often hit us unexpectedly.
- 11:31We don't always have a forecast that they're coming.
- 11:34But our storms can come through sickness or financial pressure or broken relationships
- 11:40or grief or fear or just uncertainty.
- 11:43Our storms happen in our personal lives, and they cause us to fear or grieve,
- 11:50or they cause us to not understand where to put our next foot,
- 11:54and they make us doubt and wonder.
- 11:57Their storm was one of real storms, wind and rain and water,
- 12:04and they were taking on water on their boat.
- 12:09But it also resulted in a personal storm.
- 12:13They were afraid. They were in the boat with the master.
- 12:18The storm was raging all around them, but they were afraid.
- 12:24See, following Christ, it does not mean you're going to have a storm-free life.
- 12:31This storm that arose in these disciples' life was part of their journey.
- 12:41Oh, catch this. They started on one side of the lake.
- 12:45They were commanded to go to the other side of the lake. They boarded the boat.
- 12:49They began to launch out. and in the journey, there was a storm,
- 12:55but they were going to the other side because the Lord said,
- 12:59let us go over unto the other side of the lake.
- 13:02There's another side outside beyond the storm.
- 13:07There's a side that's before the storm hits.
- 13:11There's the place where the storm is. And then on the other side of the storm,
- 13:17is when we arrive at where God has predicted, proclaimed, orchestrated,
- 13:22directed, and guided us to be.
- 13:26The storm is part of the journey.
- 13:30It's part of God's plan.
- 13:32Jesus never said that you wouldn't have troubles.
- 13:37In fact, he said, in this world, you will have troubles but be good be of good
- 13:41cheer i have overcome the world,
- 13:45he didn't promise you wouldn't have problems and troubles and storms but he
- 13:49did say that he'd be with you in the trouble in hebrews chapter 13 and verse
- 13:555 he tells us that he will never leave you or forsake you.
- 14:00He's not just standing there. He's willing, capable, able, and working on your behalf.
- 14:09In Philippians 4.13, he tells us we can do all things through his strength that he gives to us.
- 14:16Philippians 4.19, he explains that he will supply all of our needs according to his riches.
- 14:23Jesus didn't say you wouldn't have troubles. He said he'd be with you.
- 14:28He said he'd get you to the other side. Just as clearly as he said to the disciples,
- 14:35let us go over unto the other side of the lake, he's saying that to you.
- 14:41Follow me. Deny yourself. If you notice, he says, pick up your cross and follow
- 14:48me. A cross is a burden to bear.
- 14:50Storms are coming. A man born of a woman in a few days full of trouble. Storms are coming.
- 14:57But Isaiah put it like this in Isaiah 41.10.
- 15:02Fear thou not, for I am with thee. Be not dismayed, for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee.
- 15:10Yea, I will help thee.
- 15:13Yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
- 15:21You may be walking faithfully and still face hardship.
- 15:27You may be praying and still experience pain.
- 15:33You may be obeying God fully and still find yourself in a season you don't understand.
- 15:40The storm doesn't always mean you're disobeying or going the wrong way.
- 15:45Sometimes it means you're on the way to the other side.
- 15:50We don't always understand the storms. We don't understand the reason why we have them.
- 15:57But always when we get on the other side of the storm, we see we have been transformed.
- 16:03Our mind has been renewed.
- 16:05We're not what we used to be.
- 16:08God has worked a work in us and through us that equips us, makes us more ready
- 16:16for the work he has for us.
- 16:19Storm doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. It may mean you're doing the
- 16:26most right you've ever done.
- 16:28Sometimes it's just a signal that you're on the way to the other side.
- 16:36The second thing that this account in Luke 8, verses 22 through 25 reveals to
- 16:43us is that Jesus is present even when he seems silent.
- 16:47While the storm was raging, Jesus was still in the boat, and he was asleep in the boat.
- 16:53He was there. He wasn't making any waves of his own.
- 16:58He wasn't causing any problems. He wasn't speaking. He wasn't actively involved
- 17:06in what was happening on that boat, but he was present.
- 17:11He was asleep. In fact, because he was asleep in the midst of this storm,
- 17:17the disciples were a little agitated.
- 17:20Like, here they are. They're about to die. they're in jeopardy, scripture says.
- 17:25They're taking on water. The wind is raging, the storm is raging,
- 17:29and the master is asleep.
- 17:32There are times in our life when the storms are raging, and we're praying.
- 17:39And we can't feel him, we can't hear him, we don't see anything in our situation
- 17:44budging, and it seems as though Jesus doesn't care.
- 17:49And in this account, you see the disciples go to wake him, and you can tell
- 17:55they're like, why are you asleep, Master?
- 17:58Why are you doing this? What's happening here? We're perishing.
- 18:02It's a little paraphrasing, but I guarantee you more was said than them saying,
- 18:10Master, Master, we perish.
- 18:13But they're speaking. He's present. That boat wasn't that big.
- 18:18He's just a few feet away.
- 18:21But they don't see him working.
- 18:24Jesus' inactivity and silence in that boat was not Jesus' absence.
- 18:32Jesus was fully there The storm was raging They didn't have to call for him,
- 18:38He was already there He was in the boat.
- 18:43They may not have understood what Jesus was doing But they were not alone When
- 18:50we cannot see God's hand We can still trust his presence,
- 18:56This is a concept that every true believer has to embrace with every fiber of their being.
- 19:02When you cannot see God's hand, we can still trust his presence.
- 19:07It shows us that in this passage of Luke chapter 8, verses 22 through 25,
- 19:13in the midst of the storm, the master is there.
- 19:16He's silent and seemingly inactive, but his absence is not a problem because it is not the case.
- 19:26He is present in the midst of their storm.
- 19:31He is present. He's on the ready.
- 19:36And as you're going to see as you go through this passage, he was going to become very involved.
- 19:45Became involved at just the right time and at the invoking of the disciples.
- 19:54The boat was shaking, but Jesus was there.
- 19:59The wind was strong, but Jesus was there. He was asleep in the boat.
- 20:06He had never left them in the midst of their storm.
- 20:09He had never not been there.
- 20:16The disciples were afraid, but Jesus was there. How many times in our lives have we been afraid?
- 20:23Have we had sleepless nights?
- 20:26Have we fretted? have we made ourselves sick with stress, and Jesus was there.
- 20:32This isn't the only account in Scripture where we see there's a storm raging,
- 20:38and Jesus is already there.
- 20:40When Peter is on the boat, and he looks out, and he sees all,
- 20:46the storm, and he sees all these things happening, and he's in the midst of
- 20:50it, and he's scared, and he looks out, and he sees this form,
- 20:54this figure, this being, and he says, God, if that be you, bid me come.
- 21:00In the midst of his storm, he was already there. Peter didn't call him in because
- 21:07he meant it when he said he would never leave us or forsake us. He was already there.
- 21:13In Luke 8, verses 22 through 25, when the disciples had been instructed to get
- 21:18to the other side, and in the midst of it, they run into a storm. God is already there.
- 21:25Whatever your storm is in your life, it may have taken you by surprise.
- 21:29It may have caused you to worry.
- 21:31It may have been something that has knocked your wind out of your guts.
- 21:35But I promise you, it did not take the master by surprise.
- 21:40And I promise you, he's already there.
- 21:44Your circumstances may be changing, but Christ has not changed.
- 21:50His presence is greater than the storm around you.
- 21:53It always has been, it currently is, and it always will be. God is greater.
- 21:59Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world, according to 1 John 4.4.
- 22:05So in John chapter 14, and I believe it's verse 26, he says,
- 22:11that will bring to remembrance those things that you have need of when you have need of them.
- 22:15My friend, remember this account in Luke chapter 8, verses 22 through 25, and know,
- 22:23beyond a shadow of a doubt that just because you are in a storm doesn't mean
- 22:28you've done anything wrong. It could be part of your journey.
- 22:31Know that obedience doesn't make you immune to the storms.
- 22:38And believe in your heart of hearts that Jesus is present even when he seems silent.
- 22:44His inactivity and silence is no indication of his absence because he's everywhere always.
- 22:52The third thing we learn in Luke
- 22:54chapter 8 verses 22 through 25 is that we must bring our fear to Jesus.
- 23:00Do you see what happens here?
- 23:03In verse 23 it says, but as they sailed he fell asleep and there came down a
- 23:07storm of wind on the lake, and they were filled with water and were in jeopardy.
- 23:12And they came to him and awoke him, saying, Master, Master, we perish.
- 23:20Their words reveal a genuine fear, a true revelation that they were shook to their core.
- 23:30These were people who know what it was like to be on the water.
- 23:34They made a living from being on the water, but this storm was beyond their ability.
- 23:39This situation was one they were not prepared for, and they could not persevere on their own.
- 23:47They'd reached the point where their human capabilities and their human strength,
- 23:53wasn't enough, and so they took their fear.
- 23:59Jesus. Fear often exposes our false sense of control.
- 24:05As long as we can believe we can manage everything ourselves,
- 24:09we may not recognize how deeply we need God.
- 24:13Sometimes those storms in our journey that's part of our journey help us see who God is.
- 24:20Storms teach us that we're not self-sufficient.
- 24:24They bring us to our knees like nothing else will.
- 24:28The disciples did the right thing when they were afraid. They went to Jesus.
- 24:33Their prayer wasn't polished.
- 24:35It was not from some theological statement. It was an urgent cry for help, and Jesus listened,
- 24:43exactly like what we read when Peter was on the water, and he's looking at the
- 24:48Lord, and he says, Lord, bid me come, and I'll come.
- 24:52And then when he sees the Lord and the Lord bids him come and he has faith and
- 24:56he keeps his eyes on Jesus and not looking left or right, not trying to figure
- 25:01out what he could do, he follows and obeys and the Lord,
- 25:07keeps him aright.
- 25:09But just as soon as Peter takes his eyes off Jesus and he falls, he sinks.
- 25:15But scripture says immediately, the Lord picks him up and carries him to the boat.
- 25:22But that happens after Peter says, Lord, save me.
- 25:28In both accounts, what we're learning is, is that we have to know we cannot do it on our own.
- 25:36And when we cry for help, Jesus listens.
- 25:40You don't need perfect words to get to God. Lord, save me, three words.
- 25:47And immediately he was saved and he went back.
- 25:51Dear Master, Master, we perish. That's not a soliloquy.
- 25:57That's not profound words. He is stating what is happening.
- 26:03We can come to the Lord with our tears, our confusion, our questions.
- 26:10You can say to the Lord, I'm afraid I need you. Lord, save me.
- 26:13I don't understand. Help me understand.
- 26:16God is not offended by your honest cry.
- 26:21We learned that recently in our message about Elijah in 1 Kings 19,
- 26:28when Elijah spoke clearly to the angel of the Lord what was bothering him.
- 26:33God is bigger than your problem.
- 26:37He's not going to be offended as you pour your heart out to him.
- 26:42In 1 Peter 5, 7, he says, Casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you.
- 26:48God invites you to bring your burden to him. In fact, in Matthew 11,
- 26:54verses 28 through 29, he says, Come unto me, all you that labored and are heavy
- 26:58laden, and I will give you rest.
- 27:00Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart,
- 27:04and ye shall find rest in your souls.
- 27:08God invites us. Jeremiah 33, 3 says, Call unto me, and I will answer thee and
- 27:13show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not. But in Hebrews 4.
- 27:20Verses 14 through 16, we see a beautiful account how Jesus was tempted like
- 27:26as we are yet without sin.
- 27:29But in verse 16, it says, Come boldly to the throne of grace,
- 27:32that you may obtain help in your time of need. Come boldly.
- 27:36That's an invitation to tell him what we're thinking.
- 27:41These guys were not chastised for what they said master master we perish,
- 27:51going to see a little bit later, they were chastised because their faith wasn't what it should be.
- 28:00They had more fear than they had faith. But God was not at all upset that they
- 28:05came and spoke to him and told him.
- 28:08The fourth thing that we learn from Luke 8, verses 22 through 25 is Jesus has
- 28:15authority over what terrifies us.
- 28:19See, it's one thing to have someone as a constant companion.
- 28:23It's another thing to have one that's a useful constant companion.
- 28:28Jesus is more than useful because whatever you need, he's the answer.
- 28:33Whatever is attacking you, he's stronger, bigger, and better.
- 28:39Whatever you're afraid of he can speak to it and defeat it.
- 28:46So we can too, in the name of Jesus.
- 28:51Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or
- 28:54think, according to the power that worketh in us.
- 28:57Ephesians 3.20, Jesus lives in me, and greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.
- 29:03And I can speak through faith, and I can defeat that fear.
- 29:09Because faith will remove mountains, just that of a little mustard seed.
- 29:16So Jesus stood and he rebuked the wind and the raging waters.
- 29:20And immediately the storm subsided and there was calm.
- 29:26Immediately, just as he said, stop, peace, be still.
- 29:34He stood and he rebuked the wind and the raging waters.
- 29:39And immediately they ceased, peace, be still.
- 29:45This powerful event reveals who Jesus is.
- 29:52If you look at verse 25, the latter part of it, it says, What manner of man is this?
- 29:59For he commandeth even the winds and the water, and they obey him.
- 30:02The disciples are asking, Who is this?
- 30:07The answer reveals that he has all authority. All authority.
- 30:14Storm in their life became an opportunity for them to see Christ more clearly.
- 30:19Perhaps the storm in your life right now is allowing you to be more dependent
- 30:24on God, less self-sufficient, and to fully see God
- 30:29high and lifted up for who he is and for who he is in your life and for who
- 30:33he wants to be in your life.
- 30:36The disciples knew Jesus as their teacher, but in the storm,
- 30:42they discovered that he was Lord over all.
- 30:45They learned Jesus, the one that was in their boat, was not merely a good man
- 30:51or a wise leader, but he was all-powerful.
- 30:56Jesus was the Son of God with authority over nature, chaos, and fear.
- 31:01And that same Jesus that was in the boat with those disciples in the midst of
- 31:06the raging storm is in the boat with you in the midst of your current raging
- 31:11storm, and he's going to get you to the other side,
- 31:14because it's part of your journey. It's not your destination.
- 31:19God has not called you to live in the storm.
- 31:22God has called you to follow. He's not the author of confusion,
- 31:29so you can be sure he's not going to leave you in confusion.
- 31:33He's all-powerful and has all authority and all things are under his feet.
- 31:37There are storms only God can call.
- 31:39There are problems no human ability can solve.
- 31:42There are situations where our resources reach their limit, but the wind obeys
- 31:47him, the waters obey him, and circumstances may be beyond your control,
- 31:53but they will never be beyond his control.
- 31:57You are safe in the hands of Jesus.
- 32:03Thing we learn from Luke 8, 22 through 25, is faith is trusting Jesus before the storm is calm.
- 32:12After calming the storm, Jesus says, where's your faith?
- 32:17He didn't ask, why did you notice the storm? He was not upset for them recognizing danger.
- 32:27He challenged them because fear had become greater than their confidence in him.
- 32:32The storm you're in, which has your energy and your thoughts?
- 32:37The storm or Jesus? Are you patiently waiting for Jesus to carry you to the
- 32:44other side, or like he did Peter to carry you to the boat, safe and sound?
- 32:49Or are you fretting, worrying, sick, offended.
- 32:57Faith doesn't mean pretending the storm isn't real. Faith recognizes the storm,
- 33:03but believes Jesus is greater.
- 33:06Oh, don't miss that. He's not asking you to bury your head in the sand and look
- 33:10like an idiot and not see danger when it comes.
- 33:14No, faith doesn't mean pretending that the storm isn't real.
- 33:18It recognizes the storm, but still believes God is greater, still trusts that
- 33:23God's going to take care of us, still safely tucks in his nail-scarred hands
- 33:28and allows him to carry us over to the other side.
- 33:31We're protected under the feather of his wings.
- 33:35Faith says the situation is frightening, but Jesus is with me.
- 33:40Faith says I do not know what will happen, but I know who holds me.
- 33:45Faith says I may not understand God's plan, but I can trust God's character.
- 33:50Faith says the storm is strong, but Christ is stronger.
- 33:56Sometimes.
- 33:59Calms the storm around us. Other times, he gives us peace while the storm continues.
- 34:10In both cases, Jesus remains faithful. Are you faithful?
- 34:18Are you remaining faithful to God? In the midst of your storm,
- 34:22are you a fair-weather friend?
- 34:25If your faith oscillates with your situations, you might want to check your faith.
- 34:30The greatest miracle is not always that the storm in your life ends.
- 34:36Sometimes the greatest miracle is that we discover Christ is enough in the middle of it.
- 34:45Oh, friend, he's more than enough. His grace is sufficient. He's the answer for every problem.
- 34:52The disciples entered the boat because Jesus said, let us go over to the other
- 34:56side. That means the storm wasn't the destination.
- 35:01There was still another side. Wherever you are in your storm,
- 35:07there's another side, right where he was trying to take you,
- 35:11right where he wants you to be.
- 35:13Don't give the storm more power than it has. It's just part of your journey.
- 35:19If Jesus has called you, he will not abandon you halfway through the journey.
- 35:26Jesus has called you, the storm may be fierce, but it's not final.
- 35:31And if Jesus has called you, the waves may be high, but they will never overcome
- 35:36the purpose of God in your life.
- 35:40Perhaps you are in a storm.
- 35:43Perhaps you feel forgotten, afraid, or overwhelmed. Remember this.
- 35:49Remember Luke 8, 22 through 25. Remember Jesus is with you in the boat.
- 35:55Jesus hears you when you cry out.
- 35:59Jesus has authority over the storm. Jesus is teaching you to trust him,
- 36:05and Jesus will carry you to the other side.
- 36:08The question is not whether storms will come.
- 36:12The question was, where's your faith?
- 36:16Do you see the question? Where's your faith?
- 36:21The one who calmed the wind and the waves is still Lord today.
- 36:26But is he Lord of your life?
- 36:29Do you love him? Join me as we pray.
- 36:34A kind and most gracious to Heavenly Father, Lord, we thank you.
- 36:39We thank you that you're with us in every storm. And when we are afraid,
- 36:44that you remind us of your presence.
- 36:47Lord, when we feel forgotten, remind us that you are near.
- 36:51When circumstances are beyond our control, help us to trust your authority and power.
- 36:57Lord, calm the storms around us, and where the storm continues, give us peace within.
- 37:04Strengthen our faith and carry us safely to the other side.
- 37:09Lord, thank you for your word.
- 37:14That you never leave us or forsake us. And no good thing do you withhold from
- 37:19those who walk up rightly.
- 37:22In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Remember you are loved. Jesus loves you.
