Texas is going all out for a safer Fourth of July, with TxDOT and police launching a massive crackdown on impaired driving through July 6th. This year’s “Drive Sober, No Regrets” campaign honors Carly Beatty, a bright, compassionate Texas A&M student tragically killed in 2019 by a drunk driver. Last year alone, 1,254 lives were lost to drunk driving statewide — 258 in the DFW area. Her mom’s message is clear: no celebration is worth the lifelong regret of taking a life.
