- 0:14Speaker 4: We're not talking about Lassie.

- 0:21Speaker 1: and in the place to be. And you're listening to
- 0:23Speaker 1: John Jay and Rich. Wake your ass up.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Rich, what is today as far as National Day of what? Well,
- 0:28Speaker 3: there's something for everybody today. It's National Red Wine Day.
- 0:32Speaker 3: It's National Bowtie Day. National Cherry Turnover Day. National Power
- 0:38Speaker 3: Rangers Day. They debuted in 1993. It's International Read Comics
- 0:44Speaker 3: in Public Day. I like this one for Kyle. It's
- 0:47Speaker 3: International Snack Over Your Keyboard Day. Love that. And one
- 0:51Speaker 3: that we celebrate here at the John Jane Rich Show
- 0:54Speaker 3: in full effect. It's National Radio Commercial Day.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Oh, wow. We celebrate that every day.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:59Speaker 1: We're good at that.
- 1:01Speaker 2: You know, yesterday we were talking a little bit about
- 1:04Speaker 2: food news, and Rich, we started this new segment called
- 1:06Speaker 2: Food News, where Rich has food news. I actually have
- 1:09Speaker 2: a little food news. I don't know if you have
- 1:10Speaker 2: this food news, but may I bounce my food news
- 1:12Speaker 2: off you?
- 1:12Speaker 3: Sure.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah. And now, John Jay and Rich present Food News.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Food News.
- 1:21Speaker 4: John Jay and Rich have Food News.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Peppin'..
- 1:29Speaker 2: I was just kind of excited about this. I'm not
- 1:31Speaker 2: really a potato chip guy. I love potato chips, but
- 1:33Speaker 2: I'm trying to eat as healthy as I can. But
- 1:35Speaker 2: Pringles is coming out with a thick Pringle so it
- 1:39Speaker 2: doesn't break when you dip it, which I think is
- 1:41Speaker 2: just genius.
- 1:42Speaker 3: You dip Pringles?
- 1:43Speaker 1: Part of the beauty of Pringles is how thick it is.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Hey, who dips Pringles?
- 1:47Speaker 1: Hold on a minute.
- 1:48Speaker 2: You can still get thin Pringles, but now you can
- 1:51Speaker 2: get dipping Pringles. I would dip Pringles in the frickin' onion.
- 1:54Speaker 2: What do you call it? Sour cream and onion thing.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I've never dipped a Pringle. I do love that dip,
- 2:00Speaker 1: but I've never even considered dipping Pringles.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Me either.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I've never dipped it and gone, dang it, if only this.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Were a liquor.
- 2:07Speaker 1: A chip breaks. Now we're going to have to get
- 2:09Speaker 1: it when they come out for a Try It Tuesday.
- 2:11Speaker 1: You're not their test audience.
- 2:12Speaker 3: No.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Rich, what else you got for food news?
- 2:14Speaker 3: Well, McDonald's is trying AI again because you've probably gone
- 2:18Speaker 3: to the drive-thru and been like, well, this isn't working
- 2:19Speaker 3: too well. But they're testing a new AI drive-thru ordering
- 2:23Speaker 3: system called Arch IQ built with Google technology. Now, it's
- 2:27Speaker 3: currently being tested at five locations worldwide. And guess what?
- 2:32Speaker 3: They won't say where, but one of them is right
- 2:34Speaker 3: here in Phoenix and all over the country. So the
- 2:38Speaker 3: previous AI drive-thru test ended in 2024 after some extremely
- 2:42Speaker 3: wrong orders, says McDonald's. We've got the robots dialed in, though, now,
- 2:47Speaker 3: and we're giving it another shot.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. It's happening. You might hit it.
- 2:50Speaker 3: If you hit it, let us know.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Let us know. We have to know. I want to
- 2:54Speaker 1: pull up and try the AI McDonald's. I do not.
- 2:56Speaker 1: And Burger King. I don't like that. I will boycott that.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I want to try it. I want to see what
- 3:01Speaker 1: the hype is. You know what?
- 3:03Speaker 2: I went to a new sushi place that opened up
- 3:05Speaker 2: at my house the other day. And it's a small place.
- 3:08Speaker 2: And it was one of those places that had the
- 3:10Speaker 2: big iPads that you order.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 2: And I think ordering sushi... is more complicated than that.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Totally.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So I, I was sitting there and there was a
- 3:18Speaker 2: brand new restaurant and the manager comes out and I
- 3:20Speaker 2: was like, Oh, I got to do it on the iPad.
- 3:22Speaker 2: She's like, yeah, she's showing me. And I go, can
- 3:24Speaker 2: we just have like more of a human connection? I go,
- 3:26Speaker 2: can I just order like, and she's like, I can
- 3:28Speaker 2: take your order. And I haven't been back to it.
- 3:30Speaker 2: I mean, they were nice. The sushi was pretty good,
- 3:32Speaker 2: but it was just so complicated. Sometimes you just want
- 3:34Speaker 2: a person to talk to because then you can ask
- 3:36Speaker 2: questions and say, can I get this? Is the only
- 3:39Speaker 2: way to get it is to have the tempura?
- 3:40Speaker 1: Can I have it now? Whatever. You know what I mean?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Or how about even like what's really good? You can
- 3:44Speaker 3: ask a person that and they'll send you the right sushi.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Speaking of really good, one more here. Burger King apologizes
- 3:52Speaker 3: because their nuggets, they say they weren't great.
- 3:55Speaker 1: They were dry.
- 3:56Speaker 3: But now, as of today, Burger King is rolling out bigger,
- 4:00Speaker 3: juicier chicken nuggets, and they're 100% white meat with a
- 4:05Speaker 3: new marinade in crispier breading. They're also adding limited-time special sauces, creamy, tangy,
- 4:11Speaker 3: a little spicy, with ketchup, garlic, pepper, and barbecue flavors.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Now that sounds pretty good. Good job, Burger King, stepping
- 4:18Speaker 3: it up with the nugs.
- 4:19Speaker 1: All right, that's food news. Food news!
- 4:22Speaker 2: The other day, it was National Dog Day, so we
- 4:24Speaker 2: wanted to hear from people that were in the doghouse.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Madison, are you in the doghouse? Do you know someone
- 4:30Speaker 1: in the doghouse?
- 4:31Speaker 4: Yes, my dad is in the doghouse.
- 4:33Speaker 1: What did he do?
- 4:35Speaker 4: So, this was about a year and a half ago.
- 4:37Speaker 4: My dad got caught with a woman's name in his
- 4:40Speaker 4: phone with the exact same name as my mom. Turns
- 4:43Speaker 4: out he has been cheating on my mom with someone
- 4:45Speaker 4: with the same.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Name as my mom.
- 4:47Speaker 1: No.
- 4:47Speaker 4: So he wouldn't get caught.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Wow.
- 4:49Speaker 1: So he like went out to find her and was like, oh,
- 4:52Speaker 1: you have the same name as my wife.
- 4:53Speaker 3: This is definitely going to work. No.
- 4:56Speaker 4: He actually knew her before. This lady was one of
- 5:00Speaker 4: my brother's friend's mom. So he already knew her, but
- 5:03Speaker 4: it was like kind of like one of those, oh,
- 5:05Speaker 4: you have the same name as her. This is how
- 5:07Speaker 4: I wouldn't get caught. Hmm.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Wow.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So it's not like he put her in the phone
- 5:11Speaker 2: as the same name. He's literally, because they had the
- 5:14Speaker 2: same name, he thought this would be an easy way
- 5:16Speaker 2: to do it.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Yes, but he did put them in as the same
- 5:19Speaker 4: name in his phone. Like they have nicknames for my mom,
- 5:22Speaker 4: my mom and my dad do. He put it in
- 5:24Speaker 4: as the same thing so that he would not get caught.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Wow.
- 5:28Speaker 3: That doesn't make sense for him because when the phone rings,
- 5:31Speaker 3: he doesn't know which one it is right away, does he?
- 5:35Speaker 1: Got to pick it up and find out. Exactly.
- 5:36Speaker 4: But my dad keeps his phone on silent, so he'll
- 5:38Speaker 4: just call them back.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Okay, so now it's been a year. Is your dad
- 5:42Speaker 1: still with your mom?
- 5:43Speaker 4: They are, yes.
- 5:44Speaker 1: So they're working it out?
- 5:47Speaker 4: You could say that. You could definitely say that.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Is your dad still seeing the other woman, too?
- 5:52Speaker 4: No, we think he's seeing a different woman.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Oh, different name. Is that his argument? Hey, wait a minute.
- 5:57Speaker 1: This girl, hold on a minute, honey. She's got a
- 6:00Speaker 1: different name. And then she'd be like, oh, that can't
- 6:03Speaker 1: make sense.
- 6:04Speaker 4: It is a different name, but she does have a
- 6:05Speaker 4: lot of similar features that my mom has, so it's
- 6:09Speaker 4: kind of crazy.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Oh, she looks the same? She's got a type. Yes.
- 6:12Speaker 1: That's crazy. She either has to have the same name
- 6:15Speaker 1: or look like your mom.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Yeah, and how my mom found out originally is because
- 6:20Speaker 4: my dad said, hey, can you call my phone? And
- 6:23Speaker 4: my mom was like, oh, yeah, I know exactly where
- 6:25Speaker 4: your phone was. But then he started getting a phone call,
- 6:28Speaker 4: and she's like, I'm not calling you yet. What the heck?
- 6:31Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Stop it. Wow.
- 6:36Speaker 3: I didn't see that coming.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Wow.
- 6:39Speaker 4: My dad loves my husband, so my husband has gotten
- 6:43Speaker 4: all of the dirt. Oh, because your dad is confining
- 6:46Speaker 4: in your husband like that's his bro.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Yep, exactly.
- 6:49Speaker 4: My dad thinks that he's like some young kid like
- 6:52Speaker 4: getting away with everything.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Like that's so silly.
- 6:55Speaker 4: It's like obviously that news is going to go back
- 6:56Speaker 4: to you.
- 6:57Speaker 1: How's your mom? How's your mom handle you now?
- 7:00Speaker 4: At first it was really hard for her, but me
- 7:02Speaker 4: and my mom are really close. So she's she's definitely
- 7:05Speaker 4: kind of. found her voice a lot more and she's
- 7:08Speaker 4: definitely taken a lot more control of her life. So
- 7:11Speaker 4: I'm really proud of how far she's come with everything.
- 7:13Speaker 4: So she definitely handled it a lot better than she
- 7:16Speaker 4: did before. She's still petty and I love her for it.
- 7:18Speaker 4: She definitely handled.
- 7:20Speaker 3: It really well. Let us give her some advice from us.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Have her go out and start hooking up with somebody
- 7:25Speaker 3: that looks like your dad. That's her revenge.
- 7:28Speaker 4: There was a guy that hit on her at the
- 7:29Speaker 4: bank and I told her, I was like, you know what?
- 7:31Speaker 4: If dad gets a free pass, so do you.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 3: There you go.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Not you encouraging.
- 7:35Speaker 2: All right, Madison. What a crazy story. Thank you for listening, Madison.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Yeah, thank you, guys.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Have a great day.
- 7:43Speaker 1: You too. Wow. Man, why are you in the doghouse?
