- 0:01What caused the massive surge in the silver price yesterday and
- 0:05over the last few days, the last 10 days?
- 0:08We're going to look at all the reasons why, put them all
- 0:12together and see if it indicates to us that we can continue to
- 0:15look forward to much higher prices in silver in the coming
- 0:19months, quarters, years and decades.
- 0:22We've also got some big breaking news we're going to cover this
- 0:25morning. We're going to talk about why
- 0:27President Donald Trump could be the biggest gift to the world of
- 0:31precious metals. All politics aside, something
- 0:35that's going on with the president right now, something
- 0:38that has been going on that could indicate to us that he
- 0:41will be very, very good for the price of precious metals.
- 0:45We've also got, there's a lot to cover today, guys, a big story
- 0:50out of India and we're going to go a level deeper than everybody
- 0:53else is going and talk about why that also could be great for the
- 0:57gold and the silver price. First, thank you for being here.
- 1:00Welcome to the basement. We are basement dwellers.
- 1:04We believe in the future of silver and gold because we
- 1:08understand history and we understand basic mathematics.
- 1:12Let's go out and take a look at the big breaking news story this
- 1:15morning, and then we've got a ton of interesting things to
- 1:19cover together today, guys. And this comes from the New York
- 1:24Times headline Breaking news. US inflation jumps 3.8%, the
- 1:31fastest rate in three years, Consumer prices rose in April at
- 1:36the fastest rate since May of 2023.
- 1:39Sharp increases and energy caused by the war, blah blah,
- 1:43blah blah. Look, we've talked about this
- 1:46and we won't go down this path too far together.
- 1:48The number one thing that's going to drive the price of gold
- 1:50and silver over the next decade is inflation.
- 1:55Everything else is just noise at this point.
- 1:58There's a lot of noise out there, but ultimately, right,
- 2:01all that noise feeds into the value of the US dollar going
- 2:06down and inflation going up. Inflation is what we it's the,
- 2:11it's the driver. Inflation is the new master
- 2:14inflation. Everything else has been
- 2:17indentured to inflation. OK, and the and the key thing to
- 2:21remember also the bonus cherry on top, these are official
- 2:25numbers that we're looking at like we got this morning.
- 2:27The real numbers are way, way, way worse.
- 2:30So why do we have a massive move up in the silver price
- 2:35yesterday? I mean, it wasn't too long ago,
- 2:38guys, that we were talking about the fight for $72.50 silver.
- 2:43Now let's go take a look at what the price is this morning.
- 2:46We've had volatility to the upside, but we've also had a
- 2:49little volatility to the downside.
- 2:53But man, look at that. We're only down 76 cents earlier
- 2:57this morning. The silver price, excuse me, was
- 3:00down like 250, almost maybe $3 per oz.
- 3:04And we've got, OK, so we've got analysis from Vince Lancy.
- 3:09We're going to look at a little bit later as well telling us the
- 3:13key numbers, but we are in good shape.
- 3:16I never thought I'd be smiling at you.
- 3:18Look, we went up what five, 7% yesterday and the silver price
- 3:22today we're down 1%. Yes, there will be volatility,
- 3:26but when we have big up days that go up 3456 dollars per oz
- 3:32and on our down days we dropped by a dollar to let's remember
- 3:36that we're in very good shape. Now let's let's get to all these
- 3:38reasons why people are saying that the silver price went up
- 3:43yesterday and then we're going to put them all together and
- 3:46come to our conclusion. The first one that's getting
- 3:49some attention is this. This comes from Eric Young, King
- 3:58Kong 9888, super respected guy out there in the know, very well
- 4:04connected in the gold and silver sector and in Asia.
- 4:08And what he's hearing is the the GCC, that's the Gulf, Gulf
- 4:13cooperation countries. That's like all the countries,
- 4:16United Arab Emirates, you know, all those countries in the
- 4:19Middle East that he's hearing that they're selling treasury
- 4:23reserves to buy gold and silver with emphasis on silver.
- 4:29He says you can post that if you like.
- 4:31And this is obviously a text that he got from one of his
- 4:34sources. So I'm hearing that from a
- 4:36number of people that some of these Middle Eastern countries
- 4:39are back to buying big amounts of gold and silver.
- 4:43But what's interesting here is that they're emphasizing silver
- 4:47and we've yet to really see big central banks, big countries on
- 4:52a sovereign basis start to buy silver.
- 4:54But it is starting. I think Russia has been
- 4:57reported. And also there was another
- 4:59country in the Middle East that we also had reports was starting
- 5:02to buy silver. The next reason that they're
- 5:05giving us right that we can look at in, in terms of what's
- 5:08causing this big up move in the silver price is the relationship
- 5:15between gold and silver. And here we have it right here,
- 5:18the gold to silver ratio continuing to move down.
- 5:21Before I came on, I recalculated.
- 5:24We were at a 55 gold to silver ratio, meaning it would take 55
- 5:30ounces of silver to buy one ounce of gold.
- 5:33Just a few days ago, that was around 60.
- 5:36Within the last year, it was as high as you can see as 100.
- 5:41But that ratio is starting to break down, right?
- 5:45I mean, it's pretty obvious here on the chart.
- 5:48However, what's interesting and what a lot of people are
- 5:51pointing out is again, another wedge pattern that we had in the
- 5:55gold to silver ratio where we went into that wedge pattern in
- 6:00a downward trend. And now let's get a different
- 6:03color up here for us. So it sticks out now, right?
- 6:07We are starting to break out. If the gold to silver ratio were
- 6:13to get as low as 30 at the current $4700 per oz gold, gold
- 6:19price, that would put the silver, that would put the
- 6:23silver price at 100, $156. I bet you wouldn't complain
- 6:32about that. Next up, the the volume, there's
- 6:36so much to cover going on, OK? The volume in open interest at
- 6:40the COMEX had been at pitifully low levels and that as that had
- 6:44happened, it was very key for us to remember that the silver
- 6:47price had held strong. Now we're seeing higher volume
- 6:51at the COMEX. Let's check this out right from
- 6:55the dude, the man right. The silver market traded almost
- 6:59400 million paper oz yesterday. A quick friendly reminder,
- 7:04that's about half of what the entire world mining sector
- 7:07produces on silver for an entire year.
- 7:10Yes, in one day the paper market traded 395,000,000 oz.
- 7:15However, the key point to remember and to point out here
- 7:18is that as volume now is picking up at the COMEX and open
- 7:22interest is starting to pick up, I think it's over like 104,000
- 7:26contracts. Last I read.
- 7:28That is coinciding with a big increase in the silver price.
- 7:33And we talked about that last week that we had this pitifully
- 7:36low level of volume in the paper markets in that while the silver
- 7:41price, it held pretty good, pretty strong in that 70 to 75
- 7:45range that when volume came back, that could be a major
- 7:48catalyst. And that also is what we're
- 7:51seeing right now. Next up, did President Trump and
- 7:54we got more to talk about Trump. But are Trump's price floors to
- 7:58blame? There's more rumors going around
- 8:00about that. Speculation.
- 8:03This from silver trade. Silver explodes $6 yesterday on
- 8:08quote, UN quote, no news with US, Iran ceasefire talks
- 8:11breaking down and gold is flat. Something tells me the banksters
- 8:16just got wind of the Trump administration's new silver
- 8:20price floor. Guys, let's remember the United
- 8:24States of America put the put silver on the critical minerals
- 8:29list and there's been all these talks going on with Mexico,
- 8:32Korea in speculation that they're talking about setting a
- 8:36price floor for silver. Has that been leaked?
- 8:40Who knows. OK, Next up, maybe it's the fact
- 8:45that China is now setting the price for silver.
- 8:48Let's go check out the OG himself.
- 8:51Not the original gangster, although he is an original
- 8:54gangster, but he is the Oriental Ghost.
- 8:57And let's get an update from him where silver closed last night
- 9:02on the Shanghai Gold Exchange and the Shanghai Futures
- 9:06Exchange. But remember guys, this is the
- 9:10physical market of the world right now.
- 9:13And wow, I drew too many lines, sorry.
- 9:16As you can see, the physical price of silver that's AG on the
- 9:22Shanghai Gold Exchange closed at $95 per oz.
- 9:27Now, next, let's listen to Vince Lancey.
- 9:30I love Vince. Vince's amongst the handful of
- 9:34what I consider to be smartest and nicest.
- 9:37It's a very nice guy, you can tell, and I've actually talked
- 9:40to him once before. People in the silver world.
- 9:43He's going to talk to us about Bollinger Bands and what
- 9:46happened yesterday from a technical perspective and why
- 9:49it's so important. And he's going to give you a key
- 9:53number, right? Remember 7250 that we talked
- 9:57about as being the key line in the sand?
- 10:00Well, Vince has a new number, and I think you're going to like
- 10:03it. Let's listen to Vince for just a
- 10:05few moments here. I'm out here at his YouTube
- 10:09channel. Go support him, right?
- 10:11This guy, Vince Lancey, does a great deal and and provides
- 10:17unbelievable information about what is happening right now in
- 10:21the world of silver and gold. Let's listen to what he says
- 10:25about silver and the charts. OK, we start with Bollinger
- 10:31Bands. Yesterday, silver gave us the
- 10:34cleanest breakout on Bollinger Bands that we've seen since that
- 10:40weekly breakout we had we had in gold in October of last year.
- 10:45So we have something very nice here in silver.
- 10:50You see the market's down to 50 right now, and I'm telling you
- 10:53that's not a problem yet. It's still not a problem yet.
- 10:57If you're looking for a number for this system, we're not
- 11:01worried about any pullback that does not penetrate 8210.
- 11:07Any pullback that does not penetrate 8210 is OK, and if it
- 11:14does not pull back to 8210, which is another dollar fifty
- 11:18away, you never know, but you have to be careful.
- 11:21If it does not pull back, then this will be probably one of the
- 11:23biggest Bollinger Band breakouts that I've seen in 10 years.
- 11:30So this could coincide with a big move higher.
- 11:34It really, really could, and I don't know why there's no news
- 11:38coming out. But isn't that the way it always
- 11:41is? When the market actually does
- 11:42get going, they don't tell you the reason why until after the
- 11:45fact, which is why you have to have some technical analysis.
- 11:51OK. Thank you, Vince.
- 11:52Visually, you can see gold isn't even threatening.
- 11:55Here we go. Thank you, Vince.
- 11:57Oh, did you hear what he said? We don't even have to worry
- 12:00about anything until we get to $82.10.
- 12:04But more importantly, look, this guy follows the markets every
- 12:08single day and he's sharp. People love him.
- 12:11He's one of the top. He's like a Michael Oliver
- 12:13caliber type person. He also said that this breakout
- 12:18from Bollinger Bands and Bollinger bands measure like the
- 12:21volatility in the markets. They're one of the most closely
- 12:24followed technical indicators from people that are really into
- 12:28technical analysis. He said it's the biggest
- 12:31Bollinger Band breakout that he's seen in 10 years.
- 12:36Hey, if you want to get your hands on some silver before
- 12:39another Bollinger Band breakout, if you believe that's going to

- 13:58to the viewers of the content. So thank you first meant for
- 14:01sponsoring Ron's basement. It really is incredible.
- 14:04OK, we got more to talk about. OK, one more reason why silver
- 14:10is doing so so well. This is a great visual that I'm
- 14:14sure you're going to enjoy. Very simple, but very powerful.
- 14:19And there's a a little secret hidden in here as well.
- 14:23It says it must be said over and over again.
- 14:27Things aren't getting more expensive.
- 14:29Your dollar is becoming worth less inflation.
- 14:34Remember that word, guys. That's all we're going to talk
- 14:37about for the next 10 years is not the magical increase in
- 14:41general prices. It is the increase in money
- 14:44supply chasing the same number of goods, making your dollar
- 14:49worth less compared to goods. And look at this.
- 14:53This shocked me. This is $100 worth of silver.
- 14:58As you can see on the left, right, you get this big giant
- 15:02pile of silver for $100 in in 1926. 80 years, no, 100 years
- 15:10later. So much for my math skills.
- 15:13This is what you get. You can barely see it over here.
- 15:16OK, this again indicates to us just how incredibly powerful
- 15:24silver is at at maintaining value and keeping its value.
- 15:27But what's even more interesting about this is right here.
- 15:31This post was viewed 150,000 times.
- 15:38I'm telling you guys the opportunity for more people, new
- 15:42people, like we are the 1%, you're part of the 1%.
- 15:47We may not be the wealthiest 1%, but we're part of the 1% that
- 15:51maybe is the wealthiest that understands the value of
- 15:54precious metals. But the numbers are starting to
- 15:57grow. People are waking up, and we've
- 16:00said this over the last year, inflation, right as it drives
- 16:06everything going forward, People are going to wake up when they
- 16:09go to the grocery store in the gallon of milk that cost $5
- 16:13right now suddenly cost $9 or $11.00 or $12.00.
- 16:19It could be a flood of people. It's just getting started right
- 16:23now. And when those people come the
- 16:26the silver and gold markets, especially the physical markets
- 16:30are so small, just the smallest increase in people could have a
- 16:34major impact on demand and price.
- 16:36Because think about it, those new people who are showing up,
- 16:40those new people that saw the 150,000 people that saw that,
- 16:44that visual graphic that I just showed you, that's new money
- 16:48coming into the sector. A lot of people in the gold and
- 16:51silver sector are stocked up, right?
- 16:54Maybe you're stocked up, right? Like, you know, I've been, I
- 16:57bought silver over decades. You maybe you have as well.
- 17:02Maybe you're buying more now. Trust me, right?
- 17:05I remember buying silver when it was $25.00 an ounce thinking it
- 17:08was expensive. People by now, I believe, just
- 17:13my opinion at 80 or $85 an ounce.
- 17:17We'll look back 1020 years from now and think, Can you believe
- 17:20we could buy silver at $85 pounds?
- 17:22Anyway, it's time for the sheeple noise.
- 17:25A critical part of our, of our community and live stream
- 17:28together is more and more of those people join us and we like
- 17:32to affectionately refer to them as the, the sheeple and we love
- 17:40them and they're welcome. It's going to have a major,
- 17:43major impact on the price. Let's talk about what happened,
- 17:48what, how different this is. This is crazy, 'cause people are
- 17:51saying, oh, silver's going back to $50, things are different,
- 17:55blah, blah, blah. This, I thought, was one of the
- 17:57coolest pieces of silver analysis that I've seen in a
- 18:01long time, and it came from Reddit, from Wall Street Silver.
- 18:08Silver in 1980 versus silver in two 2026 and onwards.
- 18:15So on the left in green 1980 and on the right, right 2026 and
- 18:26onwards. So in 1980, silver peaked at $50
- 18:31when the M2 money supply was less than 10 trillion.
- 18:34This is powerful right now silver peaked way more than
- 18:38$50.00 with global M2 money supply more than 100 trillion.
- 18:44So 10 trillion in 1980, a hundred trillion.
- 18:47Now if M2 money supply is increased by 10 times, then the
- 18:52peak silver price should increase by 10 times, which
- 18:57would give us, right? That was the peak at 10
- 19:00trillion. So the peak at 100 trillion.
- 19:03Could you? Mathematically it makes sense,
- 19:05Could be $500 per oz in 1980. No silver deficit problem today.
- 19:126 consecutive years of deficit with silver in 1980.
- 19:16No solar panel, no EVs, no AI, data centers, robotics,
- 19:21anything. None of that was make creating
- 19:23huge demand for silver. Today we got solar panels, we
- 19:27have E VS, we have AI, we have data centers, robotics, all
- 19:30creating massive current and future demand for silver.
- 19:34Back then. No central bank demand today,
- 19:37Russia central bank, Saudi Arabia central bank are buying
- 19:40silver as a result served 1980, no country was listing silver as
- 19:46a critical mineral. OK.
- 19:48Today the United States amongst others has added silver as a
- 19:52critical mineral. 1980 China didn't control silver exports.
- 19:59China was nothing OK back then, I mean they were something but
- 20:02nothing like they are today. Today, China is controlling
- 20:07silver exports in limiting them. From January 1st #7 India didn't
- 20:13monetize silver. We know the Indian government is
- 20:16starting to implement silver is loan collateral from April
- 20:21first. Wow 1980 Hunt brothers were
- 20:25buying up silver and that was paper silver.
- 20:27By the way, guys, today a fraction of 1.4 billion Indian
- 20:33and a fraction of 1.2 billion Chinese retail investors are
- 20:38buying of silver. Some central banks are also
- 20:41buying of silver #9 India silver imports were insignificant in
- 20:461980. Today Indian silver imports are
- 20:51crazy. We are living in a completely,
- 20:54completely different world. It is much, much different today
- 21:00than the way things were in 1980.
- 21:03China, India. I won't go through the whole
- 21:04list again, guys. And on top of that, sorry my
- 21:09friend, you forgot to put on your list, the United States of
- 21:12America did not have almost $40 trillion in debt.
- 21:17We're going to talk about why things are even more different
- 21:20now than back then. But I do want to say thank you
- 21:22to channel sponsor First Mining Gold.
- 21:25They're a Canadian gold development stage company with
- 21:27two huge multi million ounce gold development stage projects
- 21:33in Canada. OK, there's not a lot of big
- 21:38development stage gold projects in the world.
- 21:41There's an exclusive small number in Canada, a great
- 21:45jurisdiction. You can learn more about the
- 21:47company at firstmininggold.com. Stock I've owned long before
- 21:51they sponsored my channel, but I'm not a financial advisor, so
- 21:54do your own research. Everything's risky.
- 21:57You know all that. My general disclaimer.
- 21:59Now let's see what we just talked about.
- 22:03How different? Like the silver price went crazy
- 22:06in 1980, things are more extreme now.
- 22:09Who else is saying that? The one and only the man, right?
- 22:14Peter Schiff, he said. If you think gold, silver, oil,
- 22:18Treasury yields are high now, they all look like they're about
- 22:21to explode much higher. The same is true for consumer
- 22:25prices in general. As inflation returns with a
- 22:30vengeance. This does not portend 1970s
- 22:34stagflation. It portends something way worse.
- 22:43OK, let's move on. Let's talk about Donald Trump.
- 22:46I started this live stream by by warning you right, Donald Trump
- 22:49could be the best thing ever for precious metals.
- 22:53This is not a political channel. I'm not making any type of
- 22:55political statement, but I'm stating a fact.
- 22:58I believe this term with Donald Trump could be the greatest
- 23:02thing ever for precious metals on many different levels, first
- 23:06and foremost being inflation. But he's saying some really
- 23:10interesting things right now about Fort Knox and about gold.
- 23:15Let's dig in and then we're going to hear what Judy Shelton
- 23:19has to say about this. But over the weekend, major
- 23:23story, President Trump says he still wants to inspect Fort Knox
- 23:27gold reserves. I want to see if the gold is
- 23:30there, he says, which I'm sure it will be next.
- 23:35It was reported by Forbes. President Trump on Sunday he
- 23:39wants to examine the US gold at Fort Knox, a fixation for a time
- 23:44during his fixed year as first year in office is he again
- 23:47speculated about the condition of the United States Bullion
- 23:52depository. But wait, there's more because
- 23:56I'll come back. What about a video walkthrough
- 24:01live stream of Fort Knox? Who's proposing that?
- 24:04Wait till you hear this. And maybe would they invite us?
- 24:08Would they invite me from Ron's basement to bring you on a video
- 24:12walkthrough live stream of Fort Knox?
- 24:14Hey, nothing's out of the question, but listen to what
- 24:17Judy Shelton is saying about what's happening right now with
- 24:21Fort Knox. And let's get this up on full
- 24:25screen for your viewing pleasure.
- 24:27And I did speed it up a bit because this is full of
- 24:30fascinating Fort Knox gold information.
- 24:34I have to ask you about Fort Knox.
- 24:35And like, you know, if we finally do get that audit, like
- 24:38do you think it's more like is it symbolic or do you think we
- 24:41need to do that audit at Fort Knox to really show transparency
- 24:43that I don't think there's been an audit at Fort Knox since
- 24:45195370 years ago? It would be.
- 24:48It's both. Yeah.
- 24:49It's really needed because sadly, there are a lot of
- 24:52Americans who don't even trust the government to, to accept
- 24:54that, that the gold is there. I've had people say that and I
- 24:57thought you can't be serious, but they are.
- 24:59And I so I think it's needed. But more than that, you would
- 25:03have to explain whether any of the gold there are encumbrances
- 25:05against it or not. And but I have, I have discussed
- 25:08that and I, as I say, I think it would be wrong for me to
- 25:11characterize in any way the response of anyone in government
- 25:14to these ideas. I I think that would be
- 25:16improper. But rest assured, I, I've done
- 25:19my elevator speech and in some cases had much longer to make to
- 25:21discuss these things. But I, I've said I think it
- 25:25would be a public relations bonanza.
- 25:27Yeah, what's funny would pay attention.
- 25:28Well, would you support the idea?
- 25:30I know Elon Musk said he said there should be a a live video
- 25:33walkthrough. Like what do you, what do you
- 25:34think of? That idea, I would love it.
- 25:35I think that would guarantee that any issuance would be
- 25:37oversubscribed, but I also think it's imperative to reassure
- 25:40people who have concerns that it's physically there.
- 25:45A live video walkthrough of Fort Knox.
- 25:49Now, the important thing for us to remember about this as well
- 25:53is like she said, Americans don't trust the government that
- 25:56the gold is there. That's what she said.
- 25:59I would say my observation from being in the silver gold sector
- 26:02for decades is that's generally true, especially people in the
- 26:07precious metal sector. People are talking about re
- 26:10monetization of the gold in Fort Knox.
- 26:13Let's also remember, Scott Percent, our Treasury Secretary,
- 26:18is a gold bug. So what can happen with the gold
- 26:22at Fort Knox on top of all the other factors that Donald Trump
- 26:26is contributing to the golden age for precious metals, It
- 26:30could get very, very interesting.
- 26:32I do want to say thank you to channel sponsor.
- 26:35We got something big about India, something crazy about
- 26:39India in gold. We're going to get there.
- 26:42But thank you to Dirty Man Safe, right for for their support of
- 26:46Ron's basement guys. These are the safes you bury in
- 26:50the ground, OK? They unscrew here at the bottom.
- 26:54You put your valuables in there. You can put a lot in here.
- 26:57Trust me. You seal them up comes with a, a
- 27:01white tube that you bury in the ground.
- 27:02You bury this in the ground and keep your belongings safe.
- 27:06They're really, really cool. I love these things.
- 27:08Oh, there's a discount code Ron 10.
- 27:11Don't forget Ron 10. I think you get 10% off and you
- 27:15might get a couple extra goodies thrown in with your dirty man
- 27:19safe as well. Thank you.
- 27:20Dirty man safe and thank you to all you guys out there who've
- 27:24supported them. Great company, great people.
- 27:26India. Did you hear about India?
- 27:29This was big, massive breaking news.
- 27:31And yes, then my fellow basement to others, we will go do an
- 27:34update on the gold and silver price.
- 27:36But this is big and there's a secret factor that could make
- 27:41this even bigger. But the Indian government, let
- 27:43me just read it to you. Here, Clothes.
- 27:48All right, here we go, guys. This comes from the Hindustan
- 27:53Times, not a paper I read on a regular basis.
- 27:56You probably neither. But we love India.
- 27:59We love their love of gold and silver.
- 28:01But why did their Prime Minister bid?
- 28:04This is a huge story has directed Indians to avoid buying
- 28:10gold for a year. OK, Indian people in India love
- 28:14gold, love silver, silver and their government, their Prime
- 28:17Minister Modi, OK, that guy came out yesterday telling the Indian
- 28:27people not to buy gold. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has
- 28:31urged Indians to adopt cost cutting measures, including
- 28:34avoiding gold purchases, postponing foreign travel and
- 28:39working from home. OK, let me tell you.
- 28:42But there's a couple key factors we're going to look at here.
- 28:45But the big obvious one. And then we got another piece of
- 28:47analysis on this that's going to blow you away.
- 28:51But the big 1 is what he's telling them is we want you to,
- 28:54to not buy, don't convert your Fiat, your rupees like they're
- 28:58called rupees, rupees, whatever. Don't convert your paper to
- 29:03physical gold, Would they? They want, they want to support
- 29:06the Fiat. They want to support the paper,
- 29:09right? Does that sound familiar?
- 29:11Didn't the United States do that back in like 1974 when they
- 29:14created the, the, the futures market to A, to a discourage
- 29:18Americans from investing in physical gold?
- 29:21Same thing. And when they tell, when you
- 29:24tell people not to do something, they're probably going to want
- 29:27to do it more. But wait, there's even more
- 29:30here. Let's check this out, see what
- 29:32happened. We talked about this earlier.
- 29:35Why do we love silver and gold, right?
- 29:38Because one of the big reasons is we understand history and
- 29:42look at what happened last time. I think it was Gandhi that told
- 29:46the Indian people not to buy gold.
- 29:48This is fascinating and thank you to Mr. MI want to say thank
- 29:53you. We've got a great guy.
- 29:54He's like the gold and silver guru.
- 29:55I call him Mr. M He lives in the Carolinas, sends me some
- 29:59incredible information, including this.
- 30:02In 1967, Indira Gandhi appealed to Indians don't buy gold, just
- 30:09like they did 2 days ago. The reason was that India's
- 30:14foreign exchange position, their Fiat was under stress.
- 30:18Imports were becoming, excuse me, difficult, and the current
- 30:24system needed people to show national discipline.
- 30:27But what followed one of the biggest gold bull markets in
- 30:32history from the late 60s when they told their people not to
- 30:36buy gold, through 1980, gold exploded higher globally and in
- 30:41rupee terms. That's the Indian currency,
- 30:45Fiat. The move was even more brutal.
- 30:49So here's the real lesson when governments tell citizens not to
- 30:53buy gold. Does that sound familiar if you
- 30:55live in the United States, like in 1971 when Nixon took us off
- 31:00the gold standard and the dollars lost 99% of its value
- 31:03against gold? Or that example we looked at
- 31:06earlier with silver from 1926, How much silver you could buy
- 31:10with $100 a mountain of silver compared to today, a 1 1/2
- 31:15ounce? Or you not even that.
- 31:17OK, I digress. When governments tell citizens
- 31:20not to buy gold, they're usually not worried about your jewelry.
- 31:24They're worried about pressure on the currency, pressure on
- 31:31reserves, and pressure on the financial system.
- 31:35Gold doesn't become important when everything is normal.
- 31:40Gold becomes important when the system starts asking you not to
- 31:46buy it. And there's the headline.
- 31:48Wow, look at that faded newspaper from 19 what 67?
- 31:53Don't buy gold, Indira tells people appeals for national
- 31:58discipline. Look, guys, no matter how we
- 32:00look at it from whatever angle, I think this big move up that we
- 32:04had in silver, I think and also big move up coming in gold can
- 32:09be explained by some pretty simple facts.
- 32:12Fiat currencies are going down in value and inflation is going
- 32:18up. It's going to be super
- 32:19interesting to follow this process.
- 32:23I want to do it with you. I really appreciate you being a
- 32:26basement dweller on on behalf of upstairs Susie and I thank you.
