- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, welcome to another Radio Archive Hour here on the
- 0:02Speaker 1: world-famous Hall of Fame radio show, Phil Hendry Radio Show.
- 0:05Speaker 2: I think I... I think you said it twice, but... Anyway,
- 0:10Speaker 2: we have a guy named Alf.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Alf was a caller to our show who only called
- 0:15Speaker 1: up to piss people off. This, again, is from November
- 0:17Speaker 1: of 2000, a month we're featuring today on the world-famous
- 0:21Speaker 1: Phil Hendry Show Radio Archive Hours. Alf called up and
- 0:24Speaker 1: he said that the reason why the election of 2000...
- 0:27Speaker 1: which was a highly contested and very controversial election that
- 0:30Speaker 1: eventually saw George Bush win the presidency over Al Gore,
- 0:34Speaker 1: he said old people intended to.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Screw the vote up.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It was the elderly voting in Florida who screwed up
- 0:42Speaker 1: the 2000 election on purpose. We'll also hear from Margaret Gray,
- 0:47Speaker 1: and I think Mavis makes an appearance here in this
- 0:50Speaker 1: hour on completely unrelated topics. All right, let me get
- 0:54Speaker 1: Alf back on the line here. We're talking to Alf Berger.
- 0:57Speaker 1: He is from West Palm Beach, Florida. And so, Alf,
- 1:03Speaker 1: what you're essentially saying to me is that.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Is he there? Oh, there he is. Alf, you there?
- 1:10Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 1:11Speaker 2: All right, so you're saying that you voted for Pat Buchanan?
- 1:14Speaker 3: No, I'm saying that there are a lot of us
- 1:17Speaker 3: still in Palm Beach County who, yes, did vote for Mr. Buchanan.
- 1:22Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:22Speaker 1: If you guys have been following the news, you know
- 1:24Speaker 1: that the recount ended at 5 o'clock today, 5 o'clock Eastern.
- 1:30Speaker 2: That was 2 o'clock Pacific.
- 1:32Speaker 1: The Bush campaign has filed an appeal to halt the
- 1:35Speaker 1: hand recounts that are going to commence again tomorrow morning
- 1:39Speaker 1: at 7 o'clock. and the absentee ballots will be finished
- 1:45Speaker 1: being counted this coming Friday.
- 1:47Speaker 2: So there's tons of things going on here.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Now, in the middle of all of this, the Pat
- 1:51Speaker 1: Buchanan vote in Palm Beach County is said to be
- 1:55Speaker 1: overinflated because a lot of people voted for Pat Buchanan
- 1:59Speaker 1: by mistake, sir, and you're saying that that's wrong.
- 2:02Speaker 3: What I'm saying to you is that I voted for Mr.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Pat Buchanan. And I know that a lot of other
- 2:08Speaker 3: senior citizens and other people that I'm familiar with did
- 2:11Speaker 3: vote for Mr. Pat Buchanan. I can tell you that
- 2:15Speaker 3: Herb Rittenhour, who was a friend of mine, and Walter Hirschfield,
- 2:19Speaker 3: both of them live in Palm Beach, voted for Buchanan
- 2:23Speaker 3: and changed their vote to Al Gore. And that's why
- 2:27Speaker 3: a lot of these votes have been thrown out, Phil.
- 2:29Speaker 3: And I think that that's something that the talk radio programs,
- 2:34Speaker 3: you know, that I listen to have not said nothing about.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Well, wait a minute. He voted for Buchanan and changed it?
- 2:41Speaker 3: They voted for Buchanan and changed it. There's a lot
- 2:43Speaker 3: of seniors that did that.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Why did you vote for Buchanan? Isn't that an unusual vote?
- 2:48Speaker 3: No, it's not unusual. I voted for Mr. Buchanan because
- 2:51Speaker 3: I believe he's going to keep us militarily strong and
- 2:55Speaker 3: he's not bought and paid for by the Bush, like
- 2:58Speaker 3: Bush and Corla.
- 3:00Speaker 2: What about Ralph Nader?
- 3:00Speaker 3: No, I don't vote for Nader.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Why not?
- 3:04Speaker 3: I don't vote for him. I think he's I think
- 3:07Speaker 3: he's all wrong. I don't think he's right for the country.
- 3:10Speaker 3: I think he's a fruit.
- 3:13Speaker 2: You think Ralph Nader is a fruit?
- 3:15Speaker 3: I think he comes off that way, yes, sir. I
- 3:18Speaker 3: voted for Buchanan, and I'm not like some of these
- 3:21Speaker 3: retired people in West Palm Beach. I go my own way.
- 3:25Speaker 1: All right, what about Pat Buchanan's comments on... Let me
- 3:29Speaker 1: just read something to you here. Pep Buchanan said this
- 3:31Speaker 1: about Jewish people. There's only two groups that are beating
- 3:34Speaker 1: the drums for war in the Middle East, the Israeli
- 3:36Speaker 1: Defense Ministry and its Amen Corner in the United States.
- 3:41Speaker 1: He said that Jews had a group fantasy of martyrdom.
- 3:45Speaker 1: He said that diesel engines do not emit enough carbon
- 3:49Speaker 1: monoxide to kill anybody. They were asking him about the
- 3:53Speaker 1: death machines at Treblinka and Auschwitz and the other concentration camps.
- 3:57Speaker 2: He called for closing the United.
- 3:59Speaker 1: States Justice Department's Office of Special Investigations, which prosecuted Nazi
- 4:03Speaker 1: war criminals because it was, quote, running down 70-year-old camp guards.
- 4:08Speaker 2: What do you have to say about that?
- 4:10Speaker 3: I think that Pat Buchanan, I mean, he's.
- 4:15Speaker 2: What about his comments about Jews?
- 4:18Speaker 3: What about his comments about Jews?
- 4:19Speaker 2: He's an anti-Semite.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Maybe he'd want to gas all Jews if he got
- 4:23Speaker 1: into the presidency.
- 4:25Speaker 3: So?
- 4:26Speaker 2: So?
- 4:27Speaker 3: So what?
- 4:29Speaker 2: So, I don't understand.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Jews have always been hated by everybody, Phil. Jews are
- 4:34Speaker 3: hated by everybody. Gore and Bush hate Jews, too. They're
- 4:38Speaker 3: not honest enough to admit it.
- 4:41Speaker 1: All right, so you say that anti-Semitism runs so deep
- 4:43Speaker 1: in this country that Gore and Bush hate Jews.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Gore and Bush hate Jews, but they don't have the
- 4:48Speaker 3: honesty to admit it. At least with Buchanan, it's honesty.
- 4:55Speaker 2: So he's an honest anti-Semite.
- 4:56Speaker 3: He's an honest anti... I know I was not... I
- 5:00Speaker 3: was voting for Pat Buchanan. I didn't punch the wrong hole.
- 5:03Speaker 3: I got the guts enough to say it. And the
- 5:05Speaker 3: rest of the voters who don't have it... All right,
- 5:08Speaker 3: hold on.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Back off the phone here and calm down, okay? Say
- 5:11Speaker 2: again what.
- 5:12Speaker 3: I'm saying that I know that I was voting for Buchanan.
- 5:15Speaker 2: What about the other people? You say the other people
- 5:17Speaker 2: voted for him.
- 5:18Speaker 3: A lot of people.
- 5:19Speaker 2: What happened to their vote?
- 5:21Speaker 3: They didn't have the guts to say it, and the
- 5:23Speaker 3: rest of the voters who don't have the guts to
- 5:25Speaker 3: admit they voted for Buchanan are yellow. They voted for
- 5:29Speaker 3: Pat Buchanan in Palm Beach County, and then they realized
- 5:33Speaker 3: that he wasn't going to win. Then they voted for Gore.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Well, were they aware that in voting for first Buchanan
- 5:40Speaker 1: and then Gore, they were rendering their ballot invalid?
- 5:44Speaker 3: Yes, sir, they were, but you're not a senior citizen.
- 5:47Speaker 3: For many of us... This was an opportunity to complain
- 5:50Speaker 3: and get attention. I mean, a lot of them... I
- 5:52Speaker 3: don't need attention. My grandkids call too often. I got
- 5:57Speaker 3: caller ID. I don't want my grandkids calling me. These
- 6:00Speaker 3: old people want Buchanan. Then they chickened out. Then they
- 6:04Speaker 3: voted for Gore. And that's what I think happened.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Well, that is plain stupidity, isn't it?
- 6:09Speaker 3: No, sir, it isn't. They voted for Gore. They could
- 6:12Speaker 3: say they voted for Gore, and they voted for Buchanan
- 6:15Speaker 3: by mistake, but they did it on purpose.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Well, how do you vote for Buchanan, then vote for
- 6:21Speaker 1: Gore on the same card, and then walk outside and
- 6:23Speaker 1: start crying that you made a mistake?
- 6:25Speaker 3: Because when a senior citizen sees a TV camera, they
- 6:30Speaker 3: think they can get on TV, so their children in
- 6:34Speaker 3: New Jersey will see them, and they will feel guilty
- 6:37Speaker 3: that they haven't called them. Okay?
- 6:41Speaker 2: That's far-fetched.
- 6:42Speaker 3: No. walter hirschfield who are two friends of mine they
- 6:47Speaker 3: told me that they did that okay uh i'll tell
- 6:52Speaker 3: you now there are a lot of seniors that are
- 6:54Speaker 3: lying to the teeth they're lying.
- 6:58Speaker 1: All right uh hold on for a minute here okay
- 7:00Speaker 1: elf hold on for a minute all right this guy
- 7:05Speaker 1: thinks that he's um I think he's nuts. I guess
- 7:08Speaker 1: he thinks he's okay. He says that the votes for
- 7:10Speaker 1: Buchanan were cast on purpose. Then they voted for Gore
- 7:13Speaker 1: when they realized that Buchanan wasn't going to win.
- 7:16Speaker 2: And then they went outside and.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Started crying to the TV cameras, hoping that their grandkids
- 7:21Speaker 1: in New Jersey would see them and call them.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Did I get that right? Okay, Alf. Alf, you there?
- 7:29Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 7:30Speaker 2: All right.
- 7:30Speaker 1: What you're basically saying is that this was a manipulation
- 7:34Speaker 1: on the part of a lot of senior citizens in
- 7:35Speaker 1: West Palm Beach so that their families would feel sorry
- 7:38Speaker 1: for them.
- 7:39Speaker 3: There's a lot of people who live here and their
- 7:41Speaker 3: families that don't call them or for whatever reason they
- 7:45Speaker 3: don't have no contact with their family anymore. And this
- 7:49Speaker 3: is a great way for their families to start to
- 7:51Speaker 3: feel sorry for them. So they'll go out and go, oh, Jesus,
- 7:55Speaker 3: holy Jesus, I voted for Buchanan. I made a mistake.
- 8:00Speaker 3: I wanted to vote for Gore, and I did, but
- 8:02Speaker 3: now they threw it out. Oh, sweet Jesus, or whatever
- 8:06Speaker 3: they say. Then they're on the TV. Then that gets
- 8:09Speaker 3: broadcast up to the New York metropolitan area. And the
- 8:12Speaker 3: guy's kids see it, and they go, oh, holy Christ,
- 8:16Speaker 3: there's Grandpa. I haven't called him in a while.
- 8:18Speaker 4: And they feel guilty.
- 8:19Speaker 1: And you say you know for a fact old people
- 8:21Speaker 1: are doing that because you know two of them?
- 8:23Speaker 3: I know two of my friends have. They told me
- 8:25Speaker 3: about two of the women that live in our building.
- 8:27Speaker 3: I live over at the plantation townhouses. And so the
- 8:33Speaker 3: kids see Grandpa.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I think throwing away a vote.
- 8:39Speaker 2: is not worth.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I'm not saying that I approve of it, okay?
- 8:42Speaker 2: But they're throwing away a vote so that their grandkids
- 8:44Speaker 2: will feel sorry for... so they'll somehow get on television.
- 8:47Speaker 2: How can you calculate that?
- 8:49Speaker 3: I'm telling you, when you sit and you're alone and
- 8:53Speaker 3: you've got nothing to think about, you'll think of these things.
- 8:57Speaker 2: What about your grandkids?
- 8:59Speaker 3: My grandchildren call me all the time. I pick the
- 9:02Speaker 3: phone up and I put it back in the cradle.
- 9:03Speaker 3: I don't want to hear from them. I got color ideas.
- 9:06Speaker 3: See that they're calling me. I pick it up. I
- 9:08Speaker 3: can't stand it any longer.
- 9:09Speaker 1: All right, so the story that you're laying out here
- 9:12Speaker 1: as we talk to voters across the United States is
- 9:15Speaker 1: that they voted for Buchanan, then they voted on purpose
- 9:18Speaker 1: for Gore, then they went outside and they started bawling
- 9:20Speaker 1: about it so.
- 9:21Speaker 2: That people would see them on TV.
- 9:22Speaker 3: So that people would see them on TV. Mr. Henry,
- 9:25Speaker 3: being a senior citizen is not a horrible thing, but
- 9:29Speaker 3: it can be a lonely thing. And if you can
- 9:30Speaker 3: get the attention of people who will, you know, interview
- 9:35Speaker 3: you and talk with you, you could go out on
- 9:37Speaker 3: the street. There were two ladies from my building that
- 9:39Speaker 3: want to go out and stand on a street corner,
- 9:41Speaker 3: and they want to shake their rear ends and say,
- 9:46Speaker 3: I hate Buchanan. I hate Buchanan. Because I see them
- 9:49Speaker 3: make the signs in the basement. And they said that
- 9:51Speaker 3: Mary was going to drive them to the corner and
- 9:53Speaker 3: drop them off. And they stand there like a couple
- 9:55Speaker 3: of idiots with a side.
- 9:59Speaker 2: So it's like it's an event.
- 10:00Speaker 3: It's something to do And if they get a two-minute
- 10:04Speaker 3: car interview with a TV that's more conversation than a
- 10:08Speaker 3: lot of these old ladies get the lungs Because I
- 10:10Speaker 3: won't talk to.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Him All right, hold on there for a second, Alf.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Alf Berger from West Palm Beach.
- 10:17Speaker 1: So they voted for Buchanan, then they punched out the
- 10:19Speaker 1: gore hole, then they went outside and started crying about
- 10:22Speaker 1: it so they could get on TV. That's his whole
- 10:25Speaker 1: case about the seniors in West Palm Beach. 1-800-449-8686.
- 10:28Speaker 2: 1-800-449-8686.
- 10:29Speaker 1: This is the Phil Henry Show. 1-800-449-8686, The Phil Henry Show.
- 10:56Speaker 1: We've got Alf Berger. He's a resident of West Palm Beach.
- 10:59Speaker 1: And don't say where you live, though, Alf, okay?
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 11:02Speaker 1: All right, so, and Alf was talking about living in
- 11:05Speaker 1: West Palm.
- 11:05Speaker 2: And a lot of the folks that live in the,
- 11:07Speaker 2: do you live in a retirement home?
- 11:09Speaker 3: No, I don't live in a retirement home. I live
- 11:10Speaker 3: in a condominium where there are a lot of seniors
- 11:13Speaker 3: who live. But we're not, we don't have noises or
- 11:17Speaker 3: anything like that. Some of the ladies who live here,
- 11:20Speaker 3: some of the older people who live here do have nurses,
- 11:25Speaker 3: but I don't.
- 11:26Speaker 2: How old are you, Alf?
- 11:27Speaker 3: I'm 73.
- 11:28Speaker 2: All right, so you went down, you voted for Buchanan.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I voted for Pat Buchanan. I believe in him. A
- 11:34Speaker 3: lot of people voted for Buchanan, but didn't have the
- 11:37Speaker 3: guts to stay with the vote.
- 11:39Speaker 2: So they purposefully.
- 11:41Speaker 1: They purposefully voided their ballot by voting for Al Gore,
- 11:45Speaker 1: and then they went outside, they talked to the news media,
- 11:47Speaker 1: and said that they were misled?
- 11:49Speaker 3: They said they were misled, and they're liars, because I
- 11:52Speaker 3: talked to these people, and they wanted to vote for
- 11:56Speaker 3: Pat Buchanan, but they didn't think he could win. So
- 12:00Speaker 3: then they voted for Gore.
- 12:01Speaker 2: And then they realized they were voiding their ballot?
- 12:03Speaker 3: They realized they were voiding their ballot. Then they went
- 12:06Speaker 3: outside and started crying about it, because all they want
- 12:09Speaker 3: to get is attention. And I know because I know
- 12:12Speaker 3: two of these people who have a family in the
- 12:17Speaker 3: New York area.
- 12:19Speaker 2: All right, hold on, Alf. Hold the line here.
- 12:21Speaker 1: So this is what this guy is claiming, that old
- 12:24Speaker 1: folks voted for Buchanan, that voted for Gore, that voided
- 12:27Speaker 1: the ballot, and then they're out there screaming into a
- 12:29Speaker 1: TV camera so they can be seen on TV?
- 12:32Speaker 3: So that their families can see them and they can
- 12:35Speaker 3: have a conversation with a TV news anchor person.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Because they don't get enough conversation with each other?
- 12:42Speaker 3: Because they're lonely, yes.
- 12:43Speaker 2: All right, here is Roxanna, Illinois, on the Phil Hendry Show. Hello.
- 12:47Speaker 5: Hi.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Yes, ma'am.
- 12:49Speaker 1: There is no way that anybody would do that and
- 12:53Speaker 1: have that planned.
- 12:57Speaker 3: I'm telling you that these people went outside after voiding
- 13:02Speaker 3: that by voting for Gore. And they saw the news cameras,
- 13:07Speaker 3: and they started to do what most people do in
- 13:11Speaker 3: front of a news camera.
- 13:14Speaker 2: What?
- 13:14Speaker 3: They put on a show.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Okay, is that it, ma'am?
- 13:18Speaker 3: Are you a senior citizen?
- 13:20Speaker 1: No, but my grandmother is.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Well, I mean, your grandmother is, so where is she?
- 13:25Speaker 3: She's right up the road from me, and she would never...
- 13:29Speaker 3: Has she ever been on TV?
- 13:32Speaker 6: Not that I'm aware of.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Well, look, I mean, just because your grandmother would never
- 13:35Speaker 2: do it, that's not an argument.
- 13:36Speaker 6: I can't imagine people doing that.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Okay.
- 13:38Speaker 2: All right. Well, thank you very much. Maybe you ought
- 13:40Speaker 2: to get out a little more. I don't know.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Well, people in... All right.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Hold on for a minute.
- 13:45Speaker 1: To say, well, I can't imagine people doing that is not...
- 13:48Speaker 1: It's not a comment.
- 13:49Speaker 2: It's just... It's nothing. You know, it's just saying, I
- 13:52Speaker 2: can't imagine people doing it. Whatever.
- 13:55Speaker 1: So, you know, get outside and smell the rose a
- 13:58Speaker 1: little bit. El Paso on a Phil Hendry show.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Hello.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Hello.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
- 14:03Speaker 5: I don't believe that they could, first of all, be
- 14:05Speaker 5: trying to, they knew that Buchanan was going to lose
- 14:08Speaker 5: if they're in there voting at the same time.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Well, that's my point. That's my point. Why would they
- 14:12Speaker 2: vote for Buchanan?
- 14:13Speaker 3: Because they didn't know he was going to lose. They
- 14:15Speaker 3: had not dawned on him that he was going to
- 14:17Speaker 3: lose until they voted for him.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Well, when they're voting, why don't they just vote for
- 14:21Speaker 5: somebody else? And second of all, I think that Alf
- 14:24Speaker 5: is the one trying to get the attention from his grandchildren.
- 14:26Speaker 3: No, my grandchildren called me. people's grandchildren don't call it.
- 14:33Speaker 5: I don't i don't believe that this would be a
- 14:34Speaker 5: bit that they would do that but maybe.
- 14:36Speaker 3: I don't know you're right there i live there and
- 14:40Speaker 3: i would sit and talk with these people because we
- 14:42Speaker 3: have three card games we do a week we also
- 14:45Speaker 3: go down to the back to the dog track and
- 14:48Speaker 3: all of these people and they said they were going
- 14:51Speaker 3: to vote for buchanan.
- 14:53Speaker 5: I've got back to florida.
- 14:54Speaker 3: That glory that is that you hate it just like bush.
- 14:58Speaker 5: I just got back from Florida. I lived there for
- 15:00Speaker 5: three months. Oh, that's a long time.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I don't tell you that.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Yeah, in Tampa Bay. And I knew a lot of
- 15:05Speaker 5: people that only wanted to vote for Al Gore and
- 15:08Speaker 5: not Buchanan.
- 15:09Speaker 3: No, the old people that live over here love Buchanan.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Wait a minute.
- 15:13Speaker 1: You're talking about liberal, democratic, older Jewish voters, whatever.
- 15:19Speaker 3: We love him. We love Buchanan. He hates Jews. So
- 15:25Speaker 3: does Gore. So does Bush. At least Buchanan's got the guts.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Everybody hates Jews. Don't you? I don't hate Jews.
- 15:33Speaker 4: Oh, bullcrap.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I hate racism.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Okay, now hold on.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Come on. Racism is what we all abhor in this country,
- 15:39Speaker 1: at least we're trying to.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Isn't that a nice little story you're telling? Let me
- 15:43Speaker 3: tell you something. I'm older than both you guys put together,
- 15:45Speaker 3: and I'm going to tell you something. I've seen it all.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Everybody hates Jews. I'm voting. From now on, I vote
- 15:52Speaker 3: for the guy who's honest enough to say it to
- 15:54Speaker 3: my face. That's why we all voted for Buchanan. He
- 15:58Speaker 3: can't stand the sight of us.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Well, you're not going to be voting for a lot
- 16:01Speaker 5: of people that are going to say they're racist.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Well, I wish more people would be honest about it,
- 16:06Speaker 3: wouldn't you?
- 16:07Speaker 5: I'd rather nobody be racist, not.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Honest about being racist. Yeah, but hey, look it. That's
- 16:12Speaker 3: a perfect world. There's the way it ought to be,
- 16:15Speaker 3: and there's the way it is. I live in the
- 16:18Speaker 3: world of the one what it is. What's the one
- 16:21Speaker 3: you live in?
- 16:22Speaker 5: There are many people that are not racist like yourself.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Hey, I'm not. Did you call me racist? Yes. Why?
- 16:28Speaker 3: Who do I hate other than Mexicans? You just said
- 16:30Speaker 3: you hate the Jews. I am a Jew, you idiot.
- 16:34Speaker 3: You said you hate them.
- 16:35Speaker 2: All right, all right. No name calling, okay?
- 16:37Speaker 3: Wait, what is he, stupid? I'm a Jew. He must
- 16:41Speaker 3: be Mexican.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 16:42Speaker 3: What, is he calling from El Paso?
- 16:44Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:44Speaker 3: All right, that dumb spick.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Okay, look, if we're going to start calling people names,
- 16:51Speaker 1: we're going to devolve into a completely meaningless conversation here,
- 16:55Speaker 1: all right?
- 16:56Speaker 3: I'm telling you, Mr. Henry, that that's thick.
- 16:59Speaker 1: I don't want that word used any more than I
- 17:01Speaker 1: want any other pejorative relative to race used.
- 17:05Speaker 3: Well, you know something? Don't tell me that Bush don't
- 17:08Speaker 3: hate Jews. And don't tell me Gore don't hate Jews either.
- 17:12Speaker 3: They all hate Jews.
- 17:14Speaker 2: But the thinking here is what? Okay, so they all
- 17:16Speaker 2: hate Jews.
- 17:17Speaker 1: So you'll go for the guy that's more virulent, that's
- 17:19Speaker 1: more upfront about it.
- 17:20Speaker 2: So what?
- 17:21Speaker 1: So he gets into office. He severs ties with Israel.
- 17:25Speaker 1: It becomes a pro-Arab administration. You know, he becomes distant
- 17:30Speaker 1: to the Jewish voting populace in America. I mean, he
- 17:34Speaker 1: disenfranchises them. Next thing you know, what? I mean, we're
- 17:37Speaker 1: going to start to have some uh... racial.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Laws in this i don't know i'll come out of
- 17:41Speaker 3: the market but i have a look at a card
- 17:43Speaker 3: but i'll tell you what they come up you can't
- 17:46Speaker 3: that sorry and i vote for that guy I knew
- 17:49Speaker 3: I was throwing my vote away. I was proud to
- 17:51Speaker 3: throw my vote away.
- 17:52Speaker 1: You sound like some far-out old man who just cast
- 17:55Speaker 1: some protest vote for Pat Buchanan so you could sit
- 17:59Speaker 1: around while you're playing cards with your friends and say, Hey,
- 18:02Speaker 1: I voted for Buchanan.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Get me.
- 18:04Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no.
- 18:07Speaker 3: I did not do that.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Well, what about your buddy?
- 18:09Speaker 3: What's his name?
- 18:10Speaker 2: Herbie Rittenhour. What did he do?
- 18:12Speaker 3: Herb's the guy that said, oh, holy Christ, I voted
- 18:15Speaker 3: for Buchanan. I better vote for Gore. Then he started
- 18:17Speaker 3: bawling in front of the TV cameras. And I know
- 18:21Speaker 3: Herbie back. We were in the Air Force together.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Okay, fine. Herbie Rittenhour. All right, 1-800-449-8686.
- 18:31Speaker 1: This guy, Alf Berger, is a resident of West Palm Beach,
- 18:34Speaker 1: cast a vote in the elections. He says he voted
- 18:36Speaker 1: for Buchanan because he knows he's anti-Semitic. They're all anti-Semitic,
- 18:40Speaker 1: Gore and Bush. 1-800-449-8686, Phil Hendry Show.
- 19:03Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Phil Henry's show, talking with Alf Berger.
- 19:08Speaker 1: He's a retired gentleman in Palm Beach County, Florida, about
- 19:14Speaker 1: the vote, the contested vote there.
- 19:18Speaker 2: 3,700 votes were garnered by Pat Buchanan. You say, Mr. Berger,
- 19:23Speaker 2: that more.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Senior citizens voted for Buchanan, but they went ahead and
- 19:27Speaker 1: punched the gore hole thinking that Buchanan wasn't going to win.
- 19:30Speaker 3: That's right. And that's about 19,000 of them 19,000.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Senior citizens wanted Buchanan.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Yes, they did. But then they said, holy Christ, I
- 19:43Speaker 3: don't think he can win. And they punched a gore hole,
- 19:48Speaker 3: and that's what happened.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And they were bawling in front of the TV cameras
- 19:51Speaker 1: for what? To get attention?
- 19:52Speaker 3: Yes, sir. That's what you do when you're old. Because... Oh,
- 19:56Speaker 3: come on, will you, man?
- 19:57Speaker 2: Give me something I can hang my hat on.
- 20:00Speaker 3: You're not old. You don't know what it's like. When
- 20:02Speaker 3: you're old, you want people to pay attention to you.
- 20:05Speaker 3: And my grandkids, thank God, call me.
- 20:08Speaker 2: But.
- 20:09Speaker 3: You know, you go out to the TV camera and
- 20:11Speaker 3: you go, oh, here, I'm going to show you. This
- 20:15Speaker 3: is exactly what an old person does. And I'll pretend
- 20:19Speaker 3: like I'm the person on the TV.
- 20:21Speaker 2: All right, we got to take a.
- 20:23Speaker 3: No, hold on for a minute. Hi, I'm the guy
- 20:26Speaker 3: on the TV. How are you? Jesus. And that's what
- 20:34Speaker 3: they do. Okay. That's what they do, sir.
- 20:39Speaker 2: All right, man. I mean, what do you want me
- 20:41Speaker 2: to tell you?
- 20:41Speaker 1: You're going into a theatrical presentation here. I don't see it,
- 20:46Speaker 1: but then again, I have seen it.
- 20:48Speaker 3: You've seen a lot of old people get nuts.
- 20:50Speaker 1: I've seen that, but I think it's the height of
- 20:52Speaker 1: cynicism to say they're putting it on.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Here is San Diego on the Phil Henry Show. Hello.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Hi.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Yes, ma'am.
- 20:58Speaker 7: What's this guy's name?
- 21:00Speaker 3: What's yours? What's your name? What's yours?
- 21:05Speaker 7: Okay, look, let me tell you something. I think your
- 21:08Speaker 7: grandkids or children need to commit to.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Oh, I see, because you don't agree with me. I
- 21:14Speaker 3: live with people down in Palm Beach County. I've seen
- 21:18Speaker 3: what they do. And I talked to her. You can't
- 21:21Speaker 3: tell me that I'm nuts and then tell me you're
- 21:23Speaker 3: going to explain. You're stupid. Let me explain. I live
- 21:28Speaker 3: in Palm Beach County, California, and I've seen these old
- 21:32Speaker 3: people go in front of a TV camera and go,
- 21:38Speaker 3: Holy Christ, I voted for Buchanan. What am I going
- 21:41Speaker 3: to do? It's a bunch of bullcrap. Okay, okay.
- 21:45Speaker 2: 19,000 of them, huh?
- 21:46Speaker 3: You got it.
- 21:47Speaker 7: Hey, Grandpa, hear me out, okay? I agree with certain
- 21:52Speaker 7: things that you're saying, okay? They may have want the attention.
- 21:56Speaker 7: But the way you're coming across, you sound like you
- 22:00Speaker 7: need to be treated.
- 22:01Speaker 3: I don't care how you're coming across. You're a Jew.
- 22:03Speaker 3: You sound like a freaking confused broad who doesn't know
- 22:07Speaker 3: anything about life.
- 22:08Speaker 4: You're a Jew.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Answer my question. What are you? You can't be a Jew.
- 22:12Speaker 3: You in San Diego, you can't be a Jew, that's
- 22:14Speaker 3: for sure.
- 22:15Speaker 6: No, no.
- 22:16Speaker 3: There ain't no Jews in San Diego.
- 22:18Speaker 7: No, I'm Italian.
- 22:19Speaker 3: So you could be a Jew. You know, they got
- 22:22Speaker 3: Jews in Italy. I know. A lot of them went
- 22:24Speaker 3: to concentration camps.
- 22:26Speaker 7: Oh, man, buddy. You're Jewish and you hate Jews?
- 22:30Speaker 3: You're Jewish and you hate Jews?
- 22:32Speaker 2: Where'd you get that?
- 22:33Speaker 7: That's what he said.
- 22:34Speaker 1: He didn't say he hated Jews. And you said you're Italian,
- 22:37Speaker 1: so what's that got to do with you not being Jewish?
- 22:39Speaker 3: She's stupid. Where's she calling from?
- 22:41Speaker 2: San Diego.
- 22:42Speaker 3: They're all stupid down there. They're all military people down there.
- 22:47Speaker 3: They're all naval people. And you know what? You sound
- 22:49Speaker 3: real intelligent.
- 22:50Speaker 7: They're all freaking stupid.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Every last, every last, let me tell you something. Every
- 22:55Speaker 3: broad that I ever had sex with in the Air
- 22:57Speaker 3: Force that was stupid came from San Diego.
- 23:00Speaker 2: All right, that is completely, completely unnecessary.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Every one of the dumb ones.
- 23:05Speaker 7: Someone actually had sex with you?
- 23:06Speaker 3: All the stupid broads at the USO. I'd say, where
- 23:08Speaker 3: are you from? San Diego. To a woman, I swear
- 23:12Speaker 3: to God.
- 23:12Speaker 2: All right, well, what are we doing here, okay?
- 23:16Speaker 3: She's the one that called me an idiot. She started it.
- 23:19Speaker 5: You are an idiot.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Well, you're from San Diego.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Ma'am, did you have a point you wanted to make
- 23:26Speaker 2: before we move on?
- 23:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I wanted to make a point.
- 23:28Speaker 2: What is that point that you haven't been able to
- 23:30Speaker 2: make here?
- 23:31Speaker 3: Because I'm talking, she's going to blame me. Be quiet, okay?
- 23:34Speaker 7: I'm trying to say that you're an idiot.
- 23:36Speaker 3: The fuck from San Diego is going to tell me?
- 23:38Speaker 2: All right, I'm putting him on hold. God. Go ahead, ma'am.
- 23:43Speaker 7: I'm trying to say he may be right, but the
- 23:47Speaker 7: way he's coming across, you hear a slut. He sounds
- 23:50Speaker 7: like a senile old man.
- 23:52Speaker 2: I know. I know.
- 23:54Speaker 3: You know what? Maybe he needs to get it.
- 23:55Speaker 2: But let me ask you a question.
- 23:57Speaker 1: What difference does it make how he's coming across if
- 23:59Speaker 1: he's speaking some truth? Do you shut people off because
- 24:02Speaker 1: they're telling you truth, but.
- 24:04Speaker 2: They don't have the right hair color? I'm not saying that.
- 24:06Speaker 2: All right, well, then what about what he's saying is true?
- 24:09Speaker 1: Let's have some common ground here.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Are you there, Alf?
- 24:12Speaker 3: I'm right here, Phil. All right, I'm putting him back
- 24:15Speaker 3: on hold.
- 24:16Speaker 7: What I'm trying to say is when he comes across
- 24:19Speaker 7: and saying everybody hates Jews and this and that, he
- 24:21Speaker 7: sounds like he's not all there.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Well, I mean, a lot of people hate Jews.
- 24:26Speaker 7: A lot of people do.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Tons and tons.
- 24:29Speaker 7: You know, I don't.
- 24:30Speaker 3: I don't.
- 24:30Speaker 4: I don't hate anybody.
- 24:31Speaker 2: All right, okay. But I mean, he's right. I mean,
- 24:33Speaker 2: I can see your point when you say, how can
- 24:35Speaker 2: you say, are you there, Alf?
- 24:36Speaker 3: He's been slutting, Sandy.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Okay, that's... He can't come on the air now without.
- 24:42Speaker 2: You see what.
- 24:43Speaker 3: I'm trying to.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I hear you.
- 24:44Speaker 3: He's trying to make a point.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Yes, I hear you.
- 24:46Speaker 7: He needs to be committed or that, or he needs
- 24:48Speaker 7: to get something from them.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Well, why do you think he's nuts? Just because he
- 24:51Speaker 1: says Bush hates Jews? It's not such a stretch.
- 24:55Speaker 7: He said everybody hates Jews.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Well, it's not such a stretch.
- 24:59Speaker 1: If you're an older 73-year-old Jewish man, you've seen a
- 25:02Speaker 1: lot in life. Probably everybody hates Jews pretty much sums
- 25:05Speaker 1: up your life.
- 25:06Speaker 6: Well, where does he come off calling me a slut?
- 25:09Speaker 2: Hey, Alf, where do you come off calling her a slut?
- 25:13Speaker 3: Let me ask you something. Was your mother from San Diego?
- 25:17Speaker 1: Am I what?
- 25:18Speaker 3: Was your mother from San Diego?
- 25:20Speaker 7: No, she was from New York.
- 25:22Speaker 3: All right, because I was afraid I might be your dad.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Okay, that's it.
- 25:27Speaker 7: No, put him back on, Phil.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Put that old man back on. He's only going to
- 25:32Speaker 2: start to insult you again.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 25:34Speaker 7: He's dealing with the New Yorker.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Put him back on.
- 25:36Speaker 7: I can handle it.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Alf? Yeah, what?
- 25:39Speaker 2: Alf?
- 25:40Speaker 3: Oh, look at this. Here she is, the USO broad.
- 25:43Speaker 2: You are sick.
- 25:45Speaker 7: Can I say bastard? Can I say bastard, Phil?
- 25:49Speaker 2: I guess you did.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Oh, I'm a bastard. You're the bastard, especially if your
- 25:53Speaker 3: mama comes from San Diego.
- 25:56Speaker 7: You know, Phil.
- 25:58Speaker 1: You know, I don't know, Alf, the whole purpose of
- 26:00Speaker 1: you coming on here was to make a point about Buchanan.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Now you're calling women sluts. You're saying.
- 26:06Speaker 3: I had to put a double rubber on my.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Okay, that's it.
- 26:11Speaker 1: You know what?
- 26:12Speaker 7: If I had my way, I'd cut it off on him.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I apologize for those comments. You were not deserving of them.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I don't know what his problem is, you know, other
- 26:22Speaker 1: than the fact that maybe he's... Maybe he's been the
- 26:25Speaker 1: victim of all.
- 26:26Speaker 5: That's my point.
- 26:26Speaker 7: Does he sound like a sane person to you?
- 26:30Speaker 3: Well.
- 26:30Speaker 7: Okay, that is my point.
- 26:32Speaker 2: I guess not.
- 26:33Speaker 7: He can be right.
- 26:34Speaker 3: You know what?
- 26:34Speaker 7: You can say things, but if you come across like
- 26:37Speaker 7: a sicko like he does, you know, he's useless. He
- 26:40Speaker 7: should wash it up because nobody's going to listen to
- 26:42Speaker 7: a man like this because he doesn't sound sane. And
- 26:45Speaker 7: he's not my father, tell him, okay?
- 26:47Speaker 2: Well, we hung up on him.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I apologize for that. That was unnecessary.
- 26:53Speaker 1: And I feel in some way I'm responsible for it.
- 26:57Speaker 7: Well, you are, but you're a nice guy.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Well, my kids have been sick lately. I don't know
- 27:03Speaker 2: what I'm doing.
- 27:04Speaker 4: Okay.
- 27:05Speaker 7: Well, you have a good night, Phil.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I just, I don't know, I'm so lost, you know.
- 27:11Speaker 2: I guess that's probably the thing that I want to say.
- 27:13Speaker 2: I just feel lost.
- 27:15Speaker 7: Well, if you have to deal with sick people like that,
- 27:17Speaker 7: I don't blame you. The man is sick.
- 27:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, he's gone. I'm still here. That's
- 27:23Speaker 2: the funny thing. He's gone. I still have to live
- 27:25Speaker 2: with me.
- 27:26Speaker 7: Oh, he'll probably call back. Sickos like that will call back.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but some of the things I think about, I'm scared.
- 27:34Speaker 3: You're scared?
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm scared because sometimes I think about things that aren't,
- 27:41Speaker 1: I don't know, healthy, I guess.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 27:47Speaker 7: Are you getting sicko on.
- 27:48Speaker 3: Me, too?
- 27:48Speaker 2: Okay. All right. I'll let you go.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Goodbye, Phil.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I guess you'll think it's funny I had to buy
- 27:52Speaker 1: a prescription for Viagra, but okay.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Ha, ha, ha. We'll laugh.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Bye, Phil.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Thanks a lot. Thanks a whole bunch.
- 28:03Speaker 3: I'll say it for you.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Slut. Get out of here. 1-800-449-8686. Phil Henry Show.
- 28:30Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686.
- 28:30Speaker 1: It's the Phil Henry Show, and we are going to
- 28:36Speaker 1: give you some updates on the balloting, the conclusion of
- 28:40Speaker 1: the recount balloting in Florida. And so far, it puts
- 28:45Speaker 1: Governor Bush ahead of Vice President Gore.
- 28:49Speaker 2: By a few hundred votes, I think. Right, Mike?
- 28:51Speaker 1: But we're getting the exact number for you. And we
- 28:54Speaker 1: also have some information for you on overseas balloting. Let's
- 28:57Speaker 1: go to another phone call here. Bellflower, hi, you're on
- 29:01Speaker 1: the Phil Henry Show.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Hi, Phil, how you doing? Good.
- 29:05Speaker 4: I think you have a very entertaining program. I called
- 29:08Speaker 4: in to ask you a question that is not related
- 29:12Speaker 4: to the topic right now.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Okay, dear, I can barely hear you, so.
- 29:17Speaker 4: I called in to ask a question that is not
- 29:21Speaker 4: related to the topic.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Okay, dear, what is that?
- 29:24Speaker 4: I called Patrick.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Ewing, who is.
- 29:30Speaker 4: A great basketball player. I think he has a role
- 29:32Speaker 4: model for all our children, as well as Alonzo Mourning.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Have you followed him at all?
- 29:39Speaker 2: Yes, Alonzo Mourning I have.
- 29:40Speaker 1: I'm a Miami Heat fan, and I'm an LA Lakers fan,
- 29:44Speaker 1: of course, but I'm also a Miami Heat fan, and
- 29:46Speaker 1: I know that a very tough bit of luck has
- 29:49Speaker 1: befallen him with a kidney ailment.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Yes, that's correct, and I think that's very tragic. As
- 29:54Speaker 4: a mother, I think it's tragic.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 29:57Speaker 4: But I wanted to ask you about Patrick Ewing giving
- 30:00Speaker 4: his kidney to Alonzo Mourning.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Did Patrick Ewing say he wanted to donate his kidney
- 30:07Speaker 1: to Alonzo Mourning? Yes, I heard about that. I think
- 30:10Speaker 1: it's an incredibly generous offer. I think that says a
- 30:13Speaker 1: lot about the guy.
- 30:14Speaker 4: Well, but I had a question about whether that is
- 30:19Speaker 4: going to violate NBA rule or not.
- 30:23Speaker 2: I don't see how.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I mean, are you talking about Patrick Ewing giving his
- 30:27Speaker 1: kidney to Alonzo Mourning?
- 30:28Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 30:29Speaker 4: Because if he does, he'd be playing for two different teams.
- 30:37Speaker 3: At the same time.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Who, Ewing?
- 30:40Speaker 3: Yes.
- 30:41Speaker 2: No, he wouldn't.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Well, he gave his kidney.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Well, he wouldn't be playing for two different teams.
- 30:51Speaker 4: Yes, he would.
- 30:53Speaker 2: How do you figure that?
- 30:54Speaker 4: Because he gave a kidney to Alonzo Mourning. I mean,
- 30:57Speaker 4: he's now, part of him's playing for the Miami Heat.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Here I thought you wanted to call up and talk
- 31:05Speaker 1: about what a great guy Patrick Ewing is.
- 31:07Speaker 4: I do think he's a great guy.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Well, what the hell is this about Patrick Ewing playing
- 31:12Speaker 2: for two different teams? Mr.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Henry, that is clearly a violation of NBA rule. You
- 31:17Speaker 4: can't play for two teams. And the Seattle Seepers sandwich.
- 31:24Speaker 3: The Seattle Super Sandwich?
- 31:25Speaker 2: The Seattle Supersonics.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Okay.
- 31:28Speaker 4: If they play the Miami Heat, that will be odd, man.
- 31:32Speaker 4: I will not be able to watch that game because
- 31:34Speaker 4: Ewing will be going up against himself, and they'll be
- 31:37Speaker 4: all messed up. That would be like hell on living earth.
- 31:41Speaker 3: What the hell are you talking about? Shut up.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Who's that?
- 31:44Speaker 3: That's my nephew. You talking about something?
- 31:48Speaker 4: You shut up and go get me a Henry Winehouse beer.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Say what? I said you shut your mouth. Go get
- 31:53Speaker 3: me a Henry Weinhardt right now. You want to talk
- 31:56Speaker 3: about the talk station?
- 31:58Speaker 2: Um.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Sam, hold on for a minute, Mr. Henry.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Okay, we're on the air right now.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Sam said he's on the air right now. You have
- 32:04Speaker 3: to shut your mouth. Well, there ain't no Henry Weinhardt left,
- 32:07Speaker 3: because I had the last one.
- 32:09Speaker 4: You son of a.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Ow! I'm sorry. I was wrong. Yeah, you have to
- 32:14Speaker 3: go out the garage now and get some more, won't you?
- 32:16Speaker 2: All right. We have to get moving along.
- 32:18Speaker 3: Just hold your horses. What? I got some Heineken or
- 32:22Speaker 3: something like that. I don't need no Heineken. I'm a
- 32:25Speaker 3: white man. I ain't no white woman. I drink Henry
- 32:27Speaker 3: Wine hard beer like I always have for the last
- 32:29Speaker 3: four years, especially during Thanksgiving time. Now go out and
- 32:32Speaker 3: get me one.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Right.
- 32:34Speaker 3: I hear Heineken's pretty good. I think Heineken's piss water.
- 32:38Speaker 3: What do you think about that?
- 32:40Speaker 2: Wait a minute. Can I jump in here?
- 32:42Speaker 3: What?
- 32:42Speaker 2: Heineken's pretty good.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Shut up. All right.
- 32:47Speaker 2: I got to get going, okay?
- 32:48Speaker 4: Anyway, I want to say.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I got to get going, okay?
- 32:51Speaker 4: I just want to say Patrick Ewing would be the
- 32:55Speaker 4: first person in history to ever play defense against himself
- 33:03Speaker 4: if he give a kidney to Alonzo Mourning.
- 33:10Speaker 2: You know? All right. I got to get going. Uh,
- 33:15Speaker 2: because I'm scared now.
- 33:16Speaker 1: And the last caller scared me, too.
- 33:18Speaker 3: You're frightened?
- 33:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just scared of everything tonight. And you telling
- 33:22Speaker 1: me that Patrick Ewing is going to play against himself is.
- 33:25Speaker 3: All right. I got that beer I put on there.
- 33:29Speaker 3: Black man's afraid of me.
- 33:30Speaker 2: All right. Okay, see you later.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Okay, that's a great call, Mike.
- 33:35Speaker 6: Hi, I'm just calling, and my comment is this lady
- 33:38Speaker 6: is giving all these facts that are not true. What
- 33:41Speaker 6: are you basing all this on? People that are alcoholics
- 33:44Speaker 6: do not necessarily have to drink head and shoulders. They
- 33:46Speaker 6: have to drink Listerine. I mean, that's ridiculous.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Well, but you know that there are bums on Skid
- 33:51Speaker 3: Row in L.A.
- 33:52Speaker 6: That are drinking Prell.
- 33:53Speaker 3: They're drinking Prell. I'm sorry.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Prell?
- 33:56Speaker 3: I didn't ask you how you were. I asked you
- 33:58Speaker 3: did you know. I'm sorry, dear.
- 34:01Speaker 4: We're miscommunicating.
- 34:02Speaker 3: What did you say?
- 34:04Speaker 6: You're giving information. You're giving information that is not true.
- 34:09Speaker 1: You said that alcoholics drink Prell?
- 34:12Speaker 3: Someone that looks like Martin Sheen was down on Hill Street,
- 34:15Speaker 3: downtown L.A.
- 34:16Speaker 6: What does Martin Sheen have anything to do with this? Oh,
- 34:18Speaker 6: my God. He's just another recovered.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 34:22Speaker 6: He's part of him because he's a recovered alcoholic. Well,
- 34:25Speaker 6: he may leave the country. That doesn't give him any right.
- 34:27Speaker 3: Rosie O'Donnell and Robert Altman, don't you realize what's happening?
- 34:32Speaker 3: We could lose these wonderful people. If we lose Barbara Streisand,
- 34:36Speaker 3: we're not losing much. But Marty Sheen... Okay, no.
- 34:38Speaker 6: Excuse me, would you let me talk?
- 34:39Speaker 3: Herbal Essence is another drink of choice.
- 34:41Speaker 2: All right, let the lady talk. Go ahead, ma'am.
- 34:44Speaker 6: Yes, please. She's saying all these... What does Marty Sheen...
- 34:46Speaker 6: He's an actor. He's not going to be the president.
- 34:48Speaker 6: We're talking about something totally different. I'm a Democrat. I
- 34:52Speaker 6: voted for Gore, but I can take the fact that
- 34:54Speaker 6: Bush is going to win. Okay, who cares if the
- 34:57Speaker 6: man has enough willpower... to run for president he has
- 35:00Speaker 6: enough people to vote for him who win. He won.
- 35:03Speaker 6: That's true darling, but that's true. Whether he's an alcoholic
- 35:07Speaker 6: or not has nothing to do.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Well I understand that, but you're Hispanic.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Well one of the things that you have to understand
- 35:15Speaker 3: is you're Hispanic, right?
- 35:16Speaker 6: That doesn't make any difference. What does that make me?
- 35:19Speaker 3: I'm not an alcoholic. Nobody in my.
- 35:21Speaker 6: Family is an alcoholic.
- 35:22Speaker 3: I didn't say that you are. I said that Hispanics
- 35:24Speaker 3: Do not drink too much. What Hispanics do is you
- 35:28Speaker 3: smoke a lot of rock.
- 35:29Speaker 6: No, I'm sorry.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Okay, there you go. There you go.
- 35:31Speaker 3: I knew it.
- 35:33Speaker 6: Half of my clients, I have like 50 clients that
- 35:35Speaker 6: are Hispanics. There's like 4,000 people.
- 35:38Speaker 4: And they don't drink a lot.
- 35:40Speaker 6: And they're all Hispanics because of alcoholism.
- 35:43Speaker 3: Really?
- 35:43Speaker 6: More than 90% of my cases are dealing with alcoholism.
- 35:46Speaker 2: So they don't smoke a lot of rock.
- 35:48Speaker 3: They drink too much. Then they smoke rock. Well, then that's... Okay.
- 35:53Speaker 3: If you strain hairspray through bread... What the hell?
- 35:56Speaker 6: Okay, how do you know? Do you do this? Do
- 35:58Speaker 6: you personally do this? Because you know a lot.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Of ways of.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Can I ask you a question? I have to ask you.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Are you an alcoholic yourself?
- 36:04Speaker 4: My curiosity is killing me.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Is this Rosie Perez?
- 36:07Speaker 7: No.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Oh, Jesus.
- 36:09Speaker 6: No, I'm not.
- 36:09Speaker 3: If you strain hairspray through bread, it's a lovely after-dinner appetizer.
- 36:12Speaker 4: What does that have anything to do with this, lady?
- 36:14Speaker 2: You're just too old to.
- 36:15Speaker 4: Even be on a talk show, first of all.
- 36:17Speaker 2: She's freaking nuts.
- 36:18Speaker 6: Because you're getting all this information that is so fake,
- 36:20Speaker 6: and all the viewers are listening to this, and it's
- 36:22Speaker 6: all fake.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Are you sure all the listeners are not viewing it?
- 36:25Speaker 6: Huh? You're giving facts that are not true.
- 36:27Speaker 2: You're giving facts that are not true.
- 36:29Speaker 1: And you haven't said how George Bush is going to
- 36:32Speaker 1: have this slip.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 36:33Speaker 2: You know, the fact is the guy is sober. He
- 36:35Speaker 2: has been sober.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Oh, I see you're yelling at me again.
- 36:39Speaker 2: I'm not yelling at you.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I'm saying I don't think that you can say the
- 36:43Speaker 1: things you're saying given this man's history.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Can I ask the young lady this?
- 36:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 36:48Speaker 3: I was yelled at by Mr. Henry and his male callers.
- 36:51Speaker 3: I stood here as a woman alone taking all this abuse.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Where were you? When I needed your help.
- 36:56Speaker 6: I was listening to that.
- 36:57Speaker 3: Where were you when I could have used your help?
- 36:58Speaker 3: You don't understand.
- 36:59Speaker 6: I don't think it's because you don't let people let you.
- 37:01Speaker 3: You weren't there, were you?
- 37:02Speaker 6: You don't let people tell you.
- 37:03Speaker 3: So I had men calling me.
- 37:04Speaker 6: That's why they begin to scream at me.
- 37:06Speaker 3: I had one of the men call me a B-I-T-C-H.
- 37:09Speaker 3: I had another man call me a W-I-T-C-H.
- 37:12Speaker 6: Okay, yes, and you're over here accusing George.
- 37:14Speaker 4: Of becoming an alcoholic.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Never mind that one.
- 37:18Speaker 6: I mean, you're pointing the finger just the way they're
- 37:20Speaker 6: pointing it at you. You're doing it to them.
- 37:22Speaker 4: You don't understand that.
- 37:23Speaker 6: You're not getting your point across to people. You're just
- 37:26Speaker 6: mumbling about that actor, that famous actor. Who cares if
- 37:30Speaker 6: he's a famous actor?
- 37:31Speaker 3: You know what I need?
- 37:33Speaker 4: I need to just relax.
- 37:35Speaker 3: I think I'll sit down with a big glass of hairspray.
