- 0:01Speaker 1: In Mark on demand by setting a presead for his
- 0:04Speaker 1: podcast on the iHeartRadio app.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Now back to Mark Zimon on wor.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Hey, there's a lot of open lines. We never have
- 0:16Speaker 1: open lines. Call us eight hundred three to two one
- 0:19Speaker 1: zero seven ten. It's the number eight hundred three two
- 0:23Speaker 1: one zero seven ten. Let's go to Robert in Westchester. Robert,
- 0:27Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:29Speaker 3: All right?
- 0:30Speaker 1: Mark?
- 0:30Speaker 3: And good morning to you. Thank you for taking my call. Mark.
- 0:33Speaker 3: I don't know if you saw the news yesterday about
- 0:36Speaker 3: the second biological lab that they found right out of
- 0:40Speaker 3: Las Vegas, Nevada. And then another Chinese national that was
- 0:45Speaker 3: driving a Femi he was too impatient to wait on
- 0:48Speaker 3: the side of the road where he was. He went
- 0:51Speaker 3: over to the other lane, the oncoming traffic and slammed
- 0:54Speaker 3: into a van and killed four people. Those people in
- 0:57Speaker 3: our country that continuously vote Democratic or promote to vote Democratic,
- 1:03Speaker 3: have they all forgotten what we went through and now
- 1:06Speaker 3: what's occurring in our nation that's putting everyone's life in jeopardy.
- 1:11Speaker 3: And on a good note that I just want to say,
- 1:13Speaker 3: I totally agree with you. I am going to so
- 1:15Speaker 3: miss Cardinal Dolan. God bless that man.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Yeah, we love Cardinal Dolan today's final day, but again
- 1:22Speaker 1: he's going to remain in New York. Who is before
- 1:25Speaker 1: Cardinal Dolan, Cardinal Egan, It wasn't crazy about him either,
- 1:30Speaker 1: and then before that Cardinal O'Connor, who was another incredible cardinal, beloved, great,
- 1:38Speaker 1: great Cardinal. Let's go to John Gosh in New York.
- 1:41Speaker 3: John, how you doing, Hey, Mark, good morning, great big fan.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 1:46Speaker 4: I just want to ask you a question you were
- 1:48Speaker 4: talking about recently, how things can change the format and
- 1:52Speaker 4: the customers aren't happy.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I always wanted to ask you.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Why did CBSF FM in two thousand and five go
- 1:58Speaker 4: to that Jack FM? It was to me it was
- 2:00Speaker 4: the biggest fail. They lost all their iconic DJs. Do
- 2:03Speaker 4: you know the backstory on that?
- 2:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you get these sometimes these programming guys who they
- 2:09Speaker 1: looking like Atlanta and Jack FM is doing great in Atlanta,
- 2:13Speaker 1: and they think it'll work here, and it happens all
- 2:17Speaker 1: the time with Cracker Barrel or wherever. It's just wrong.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And if you'll recall, everybody stopped listening to CBSFM, they
- 2:26Speaker 1: stopped playing oldies and then I started the Saturday night
- 2:29Speaker 1: oldies show, remember on the other station, for a few years. Now.
- 2:33Speaker 1: The problem is CBSFM a few years later caved in.
- 2:37Speaker 1: They went back to playing oldies, only it wasn't oldies.
- 2:41Speaker 1: It was like eighties and nineties. But if you think
- 2:44Speaker 1: about it, when you were first listening to these oldies,
- 2:46Speaker 1: it was from twenty years ago, twenty five years ago,
- 2:49Speaker 1: and if you went back twenty five years now, that's
- 2:51Speaker 1: two thousand and one. Eighties and nineties or oldies, but
- 2:56Speaker 1: it was something about the sixties, fifties, sixties seventies. It
- 3:00Speaker 1: was a different kind of music. It was more melodic.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Once the eighties came along, it was a whole different
- 3:05Speaker 1: type of music. It doesn't it's not the same as oldiest.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing,
- 3:11Speaker 1: Good morning Mark.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Yes, Mike, Let's ask you a very similar question.
- 3:15Speaker 3: So you were mentioning that you had booked at p
- 3:18Speaker 3: I HFM back in the day and now.
- 3:20Speaker 4: It's w U s AN.
- 3:21Speaker 3: So when these stations change format, is there a protocol
- 3:26Speaker 3: for you guys?
- 3:26Speaker 4: You know, would you like to stay and do sports
- 3:29Speaker 4: or you're out on your rear end? And how does it?
- 3:31Speaker 2: How do you adjust and how do you you know.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Well, you're usually out on your rear end. Depends how
- 3:36Speaker 1: good you are behind the scenes politically maneuvering business. It's
- 3:39Speaker 1: like that in any company. You know, you go in
- 3:41Speaker 1: and talk to them. If you convince them that you
- 3:43Speaker 1: can do sports. And I got a big background sports.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I'm a huge sports they'll they'll, they'll stick with you.
- 3:48Speaker 1: It can happen, and uh, some sometimes people go and
- 3:51Speaker 1: sometimes people stay that. You know, there's stations have you
- 3:55Speaker 1: I'm sorry, how many what?
- 3:57Speaker 4: And how many stations have you worked at over the
- 4:00Speaker 4: these years that have changed formats like that? It seems
- 4:03Speaker 4: like a fairly popular business decisions.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Actually w p I X FM, that was a pot
- 4:09Speaker 1: FM station we wanted, but we changed. We went through
- 4:11Speaker 1: several formats. I used to be there, Jim Kurr used
- 4:13Speaker 1: to be there.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Uh.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Then I w m C A No, that was the
- 4:18Speaker 1: big talk station at the time. Then I went to
- 4:20Speaker 1: w A b C No is it wn e w
- 4:23Speaker 1: w A b C. And then here that's not that
- 4:26Speaker 1: many stations. Yeah, it's pretty good. All right, thanks for Colin.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Let's go to uh Steve in Brooklyn. Steve, how you
- 4:34Speaker 1: doing good?
- 4:36Speaker 4: How are you? Thanks? Taking Let me ask you a question.
- 4:39Speaker 4: If we hate the fake news all the time, why
- 4:43Speaker 4: do they trump and the past? Second, great questions from
- 4:49Speaker 4: that nasty woman from CNN, why talking to her?
- 4:54Speaker 1: Well, ay, you have to take questions from all the network.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It's just it's just people in the Yeah, it's just protocol.
- 5:02Speaker 1: But also they kind of enjoy it. They love they
- 5:04Speaker 1: love picking on her. They love she's like a pinata.
- 5:07Speaker 1: They love smacking her around. It's fun.
- 5:12Speaker 4: They go on, go on Stephanopolois the show, and he's
- 5:16Speaker 4: the worst. I don't get it.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just fun. They enjoy it, they get a
- 5:20Speaker 1: kick out of it. It's good practice. I don't know
- 5:22Speaker 1: why they called that George Stephanoppolos show. He's only on
- 5:24Speaker 1: like once every seven weeks. It's more what's his name?
- 5:28Speaker 1: Jonathan carl And who's that that old hag Martha Raddits.
- 5:32Speaker 1: They're on ninety two percent of the time. They should
- 5:35Speaker 1: be their show. Let's go to Jack in North Carolina. Jack,
- 5:38Speaker 1: how you doing, Hey.
- 5:40Speaker 5: Mark, good morning. I just wanted to make a comment.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Last year yesterday I was speaking or listening to you
- 5:48Speaker 5: about the economy, and I think one of the biggest
- 5:51Speaker 5: things that's still hurting America is the interest rates are
- 5:55Speaker 5: being so high. I'm a small business owner and I
- 5:59Speaker 5: work in the agro cultural industry, talk with farmers all
- 6:03Speaker 5: the time, and they're hurting. And everybody, I think right
- 6:06Speaker 5: now is still being crippled by the interest rates. And
- 6:09Speaker 5: so even though Trump has put in all kinds of
- 6:13Speaker 5: tax and semas and so forth that are going to
- 6:16Speaker 5: kick in this year, it still hasn't trickles.
- 6:18Speaker 1: That's a good point. But the interest rates are coming down.
- 6:20Speaker 1: They'll come down when you get your new FED chairman
- 6:22Speaker 1: should be in about three months, or get lower interest rates.
- 6:25Speaker 5: And well, we're hoping we can hang on that long.
- 6:28Speaker 1: You can hang on, You can do it. Thanks for calling. Hey.
- 6:31Speaker 1: You know, we have listeners all over the country who
- 6:33Speaker 1: get calls from all over the country. But even if
- 6:35Speaker 1: I don't say where they're from, you can always tell.
- 6:37Speaker 1: You can always tell when they're not from New York
- 6:40Speaker 1: because when they go, HI, how are you, they're happy?
- 6:43Speaker 1: Great to talk to you. You can always tell me
- 6:45Speaker 1: from New York. Hello. I just want to ask you
- 6:48Speaker 1: they all got that. Why do we all sound like
- 6:52Speaker 1: like we're miserable here? I don't know, We're happy We're
- 6:54Speaker 1: happy here. Let's go to Chris and Beth Page. Chris,
- 6:57Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 7:00Speaker 4: I'll try to be upbeat even though I was born
- 7:01Speaker 4: in the Bronx.
- 7:03Speaker 1: But you see what I mean. The guy from North Carolina?
- 7:05Speaker 4: Hi, how are you?
- 7:05Speaker 1: I'm glad to talk to you. Hello, how are you?
- 7:10Speaker 4: I know? So Mark?
- 7:13Speaker 2: Two things? Quickly?
- 7:15Speaker 3: Where's Vincent?
- 7:16Speaker 1: I'm very worried?
- 7:17Speaker 3: Is okay?
- 7:18Speaker 1: No? I unfortunately I heard Vincent is very mad at
- 7:22Speaker 1: me something I said? And the last call? Yeah, what
- 7:25Speaker 1: could I have said? We love Vincent?
- 7:28Speaker 3: I know, okay, all right, if he's listening.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Whatever it is, I apologize, But we never love Vincent.
- 7:34Speaker 1: We never do would do anything to hurt his feelings
- 7:36Speaker 1: or offend him. So if you know Vincent, yeah, well
- 7:41Speaker 1: we'll see if we don't fix this. What else say?
- 7:43Speaker 3: And number two is and Mark number two is I love.
- 7:48Speaker 2: I don't love this Savannah gut three story at all.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I don't love it. But what I love is the
- 7:53Speaker 2: fact that the media is going nuts because it's not
- 7:57Speaker 2: an anti Trump thing, and it's driving them. It's taking
- 8:00Speaker 2: up too, it's getting them away from the Epstein.
- 8:03Speaker 3: You could just see they're like, it's a bit.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Like, yeah, but it's you know, such a tragic story.
- 8:07Speaker 1: It's kind of thing again, I know, I know anybody,
- 8:10Speaker 1: but you bring up a good point. What if it
- 8:13Speaker 1: was a Trump family member? Can you Who knows what
- 8:18Speaker 1: these crazy democrats and fake news would do? Anyway, Hey,
- 8:22Speaker 1: coming up next, we'll talk to our friend doctor Arthur Perry.
- 8:24Speaker 1: He does the show here on Saturdays at six o'clock,
- 8:27Speaker 1: but he's at the top plastic surgeon and everybody always
- 8:31Speaker 1: has questions about plastic surgery, including me. There's also some
- 8:34Speaker 1: new stuff, new breakthrough. Well we'll ask them about it.
- 8:38Speaker 1: We'll get to that next on seven to ten wo
- 8:41Speaker 1: r
