- 0:06Speaker 1: fire shit going on.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Yo man, Bootleg CAV podcast. We got a special guest
- 0:20Speaker 2: in here finally, one of my favorite out the city
- 0:22Speaker 2: man Wallely the Sense say the Golden Child is here.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Hey man, say Man, what up? keV?
- 0:27Speaker 2: What's up?
- 0:28Speaker 1: Man?
- 0:28Speaker 2: How you doing? Bro?
- 0:29Speaker 1: Man? I'm good? You feel me? Hey? Shout out to
- 0:32Speaker 1: keV though, because I just came down here. He got
- 0:35Speaker 1: a dope ass studio. I went in there and made
- 0:37Speaker 1: some straight hit records. Y'all gonna hear the motherfuckers. I'm
- 0:41Speaker 1: finna switch it up.
- 0:42Speaker 2: No, you got it's crazy because you were playing me
- 0:44Speaker 2: even besides the stuff you made the other day, like
- 0:46Speaker 2: you were just playing me, just the stuff that's in
- 0:48Speaker 2: the h that you have just loaded up ready, that's
- 0:50Speaker 2: crazy with everyone in their mom.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got some shit in the vault.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I'm just sitting.
- 0:56Speaker 2: About that shit for sure.
- 0:57Speaker 1: That's putting it like that. I'm just sitting back aiming.
- 1:02Speaker 2: What's crazy too, because like the one thing about you, Bro,
- 1:05Speaker 2: is like it's like I remember the first time I
- 1:07Speaker 2: heard Scandalist. I was like, oh, this shit is different,
- 1:10Speaker 2: like the thing about you know, and this is something
- 1:13Speaker 2: I feel like Greto preaches so much, is like it's
- 1:16Speaker 2: easy to try to box in LA rappers into this
- 1:21Speaker 2: little box. Yeah, and you immediately did such a great
- 1:25Speaker 2: job of just like when I heard Scandaliss. It's just
- 1:28Speaker 2: like I was like, oh shit, this this ain't the same,
- 1:30Speaker 2: this is different.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Yeah, facts, man, we hate it. We hate being put
- 1:33Speaker 1: in a box, especially the ones that's really talented, like
- 1:38Speaker 1: like even even me though when I came out, I
- 1:40Speaker 1: had a hard time trying to trying to locate my
- 1:44Speaker 1: specific sound, like all right, where's my foundation? Like people
- 1:49Speaker 1: know that they can come to me for you know
- 1:50Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Shit, that sounded like that. But when
- 1:52Speaker 1: you hear O three Flow or Tarzan, like all my
- 1:56Speaker 1: records sound different, that's for sure. I like that. But
- 1:58Speaker 1: it's like a gift from the curse because you don't
- 2:01Speaker 1: really know what you're gonna.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Get right whenever I drop right and you were playing
- 2:05Speaker 2: me some shit, and like, you know, I feel like
- 2:07Speaker 2: you just got a very like you got a range
- 2:08Speaker 2: of tones that your voice can go in. Where like
- 2:11Speaker 2: you said, like if if if you didn't know it
- 2:13Speaker 2: was you, and maybe you had only heard all three
- 2:15Speaker 2: Flow and maybe you heard another big you wouldn't even
- 2:18Speaker 2: you might not even know it's the same guy.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I swear to god. Shit crazy.
- 2:22Speaker 2: But that's I think that's a good thing.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's good. Sometimes it's bad for me. I feel
- 2:27Speaker 1: like because I see all these other artists and they
- 2:30Speaker 1: got like a foundation, and it's like, damn, I kind
- 2:33Speaker 1: of want that for myself. But at the same time,
- 2:35Speaker 1: I don't want to be boxed into a specific sound.
- 2:39Speaker 2: So well, I think you got a foundation though, because
- 2:41Speaker 2: I think when you have, like, you know, records that
- 2:45Speaker 2: are you know, whatever level. You got a couple of
- 2:49Speaker 2: hit records, you know, I feel like that, you know,
- 2:53Speaker 2: whether it's a West Coast hit or whatever, you got
- 2:55Speaker 2: records that I mean, like I booked you at my
- 2:57Speaker 2: club in Scotsdale. That shit was fucking lit.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, eleven eleven And before you even d Like,
- 3:02Speaker 1: when I would DJ at my spot, I would always
- 3:04Speaker 1: play a three Flow and the whole fucking crowd.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Would just sing it.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Bro, people love that song. It's crazy, like they got
- 3:10Speaker 1: like an emotional connection to that song for sure. And
- 3:13Speaker 1: when I made it I didn't think that like everybody
- 3:16Speaker 1: would be able to relate to it like that.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it's interesting too because when you made it, Greto
- 3:21Speaker 2: was incarcerated.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeh, he was in opinion.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Did you have any relationship with him prior to him
- 3:26Speaker 2: being incarcerated.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Well, I had reached out to him before he went
- 3:31Speaker 1: to jail. And that's kind of why I always fucked
- 3:34Speaker 1: with Grito, like because I didn't even really have no
- 3:38Speaker 1: songs out and he was still willing to fuck with me.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Like you know what I'm saying. I ain't gonna say
- 3:44Speaker 1: under what circumstances or what price or whatever, but like
- 3:47Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, he could have just ignored
- 3:49Speaker 1: my DM or he could have just ignored my email,
- 3:51Speaker 1: whatever the case may be. And when he was in jail,
- 3:54Speaker 1: I spoke to him like a couple times over the phone,
- 3:57Speaker 1: and he just used to give a nigga game, like
- 3:59Speaker 1: giving me game about the industry and how I should move.
- 4:02Speaker 1: He didn't need to, yeah, exactly, and he still do though,
- 4:05Speaker 1: Like like anytime me and Grito link up or we
- 4:07Speaker 1: talk like bro, he always dropping gyms on me, like
- 4:11Speaker 1: showing me the way, which you know in this industry,
- 4:14Speaker 1: a lot of people ain't gonna do. You got to
- 4:16Speaker 1: pay the play now, He's one of the realist Like
- 4:19Speaker 1: I like what I like about Grito is he's he
- 4:23Speaker 1: understands his worst and he understands his position, and he
- 4:28Speaker 1: doesn't take it lightly.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I think a lot of people they get some they
- 4:31Speaker 2: get some motion. Here, let me push this back out here.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Yeah, there we go, good looking.
- 4:38Speaker 2: This fucking Jesus. But I feel like a lot of
- 4:44Speaker 2: people might get some motion. Like obviously, Grido is one
- 4:47Speaker 2: of the most influential rappers to ever come out of Cali,
- 4:49Speaker 2: But I feel like they don't they don't understand like
- 4:54Speaker 2: the weight that they hold. And I feel like Grito's
- 4:56Speaker 2: very intentional with who he fucks with. I feel like
- 4:59Speaker 2: he's a pure, harder dude. And he's also like not
- 5:04Speaker 2: as accessible as everybody else. Yeah, I feel like that's
- 5:07Speaker 2: by design.
- 5:07Speaker 1: He on his superstar shit for sure.
- 5:09Speaker 2: But it's smart because you can't just be accessible to everybody,
- 5:12Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like you have to kind
- 5:13Speaker 2: of understand, like yo, like everything's gonna be kind of intentional,
- 5:17Speaker 2: and I feel like he's done a good job of that.
- 5:18Speaker 2: So I think it's dope that like even without you
- 5:21Speaker 2: having music out and you're getting locked up, and I'm
- 5:24Speaker 2: sure he's hearing about three flow.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, man, me and Gredo, we got so much
- 5:30Speaker 1: shit we got. We got a whole tape on the way.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I heard him talking about it when he was in
- 5:34Speaker 1: a halfway house in Houston. I flew out there and
- 5:38Speaker 1: we went all night on some ship made some shit
- 5:42Speaker 1: that's gonna fuck l a streets up like even more
- 5:44Speaker 1: parts of the world. But that was really one of
- 5:46Speaker 1: my focus is like, man, we need some of that,
- 5:49Speaker 1: some of that ship that the people love here because
- 5:52Speaker 1: I feel like, you know what I'm saying, we won't
- 5:53Speaker 1: really got that, not.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Right now, one hundred percent. Man. I feel like la
- 5:58Speaker 2: is in need of like some anthems right now. Yeah,
- 6:01Speaker 2: because I think obviously shout to three and no Baby,
- 6:04Speaker 2: so city's going crazy.
- 6:05Speaker 1: But the shit you was playing me man, listen, Oh yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 1: oh yeah, shout out to three one, no Baby. Man's crazy.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Hey, that young dude, he killing hilarious. He's a good kid.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I love seeing that nigga. Man, he killing it. But yeah,
- 6:18Speaker 1: the ship I got in the phone, I call it
- 6:20Speaker 1: the vault. The ship I got in the vault, man, Like,
- 6:24Speaker 1: I really plan on just going ahead and taking the
- 6:27Speaker 1: throne here and picking different countries. I'm trying to get
- 6:31Speaker 1: out the country with this ship.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Well you had had a weren't you on a major
- 6:36Speaker 2: for a sec?
- 6:38Speaker 1: Yeah? I was with Capital, that's right, Capital for like
- 6:41Speaker 1: two years.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah. How was that experience?
- 6:44Speaker 1: It was cool? I mean I got to learn the
- 6:45Speaker 1: business right, because that was the main thing with me,
- 6:48Speaker 1: Like coming from where I'm from, shit, I never been
- 6:52Speaker 1: up close enough to see how all this shit worked.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Like it's like I know my potential and I know
- 6:57Speaker 1: where I can go, but the actual steps to getting there,
- 7:00Speaker 1: I didn't know what the steps was.
- 7:03Speaker 2: So that kind of at least was like a nice
- 7:04Speaker 2: dry run for you to be like, you know, I'm
- 7:06Speaker 2: in the game. I can see how this music industry
- 7:08Speaker 2: works a little. You live, you learn fast, and now
- 7:12Speaker 2: you know, now you can apply all the stuff you
- 7:15Speaker 2: learned into the stuff that's in this vault exactly. Yo,
- 7:21Speaker 2: what was it like for you, man? Like, I know
- 7:23Speaker 2: you told me recently, well you just told me before
- 7:25Speaker 2: we were filming that, Like you did make a conscious
- 7:28Speaker 2: decision to be like ten toes down on this music shit.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, because when I first came in, When I
- 7:34Speaker 1: first was when I first started doing music, I didn't
- 7:37Speaker 1: expect it to go that.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Far, right, you didn't know what you had.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I really started off making music for myself, like I
- 7:44Speaker 1: liked to I really like listening to my music. I
- 7:47Speaker 1: don't know if other people feel the same, right or
- 7:50Speaker 1: if they're hearing the same shit, But for me, it's
- 7:52Speaker 1: like it's like talking to somebody that everybody need, Like
- 7:56Speaker 1: I can just talk to myself through my songs. So
- 7:59Speaker 1: but once I figured it out that people really loved
- 8:02Speaker 1: it and they really fucked with it, I'm like, oh,
- 8:04Speaker 1: I can probably really do this shit, and I probably.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I went to Detroit. I spent like a year just
- 8:10Speaker 1: in the studio almost every.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Day in Detroit. Yeah, who are you working with out there?
- 8:15Speaker 1: With the circle? You know? Nick? No, I don't, oh
- 8:19Speaker 1: what niggas is. Basically he responsible for a lot of
- 8:22Speaker 1: the success that come out of Detroit, well Detroit, Drago
- 8:25Speaker 1: and Bino Detroit on like Shada and Skiller and Babyface
- 8:32Speaker 1: Ray and all them niggas they all really under pretty
- 8:35Speaker 1: much one umbrella, so that studio that I was out
- 8:38Speaker 1: there working with them. Oh and the block boys TJ.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I was out there working with them and the stud like,
- 8:44Speaker 1: because they work at a fast pace, like I was
- 8:46Speaker 1: making like four songs a day.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Would you say you work at that pace too?
- 8:50Speaker 1: Now I do. Yeah, now I work fast as shit.
- 8:54Speaker 1: But that's where it started.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Though.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I went out there and they all used to be
- 8:57Speaker 1: in the booth at once. It's like fox niggas in
- 8:59Speaker 1: the booth, just back to back rapping and shit, and
- 9:04Speaker 1: I had to pick up on the speed you feel
- 9:06Speaker 1: me or else. I couldn't never get on the song right,
- 9:08Speaker 1: like every time I try to get on the song
- 9:10Speaker 1: to be done. So so yeah, when I got back home,
- 9:14Speaker 1: I start doing like twelve songs a day, twenty songs
- 9:17Speaker 1: a day. I'm like, okay, I got the hang of
- 9:18Speaker 1: this shit, but probably last year, I'm like, damn, Like
- 9:23Speaker 1: I feel like my music is good. I feel like
- 9:25Speaker 1: I'm one of the best, but I gotta get everybody
- 9:29Speaker 1: else to see that, like you know, and like real
- 9:32Speaker 1: life shit always slow down the process. So I'm like,
- 9:34Speaker 1: all right, fuck everything. I know, I got the kids,
- 9:37Speaker 1: I know, I got family, I got people who love me,
- 9:39Speaker 1: but shit, like you feel me, I gotta put everything
- 9:42Speaker 1: to the side. I gotta put the hood to the side,
- 9:45Speaker 1: the streets to the side, and I just got to
- 9:47Speaker 1: work on this.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Yeah. I always feel like if you move a certain
- 9:51Speaker 2: way while also trying to be a superstar, you're always
- 9:55Speaker 2: gonna have some sort of like stress cloud hanging above
- 10:01Speaker 2: your fucking head because you never know what what today
- 10:05Speaker 2: might entail.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Yeah, stress cloud distractions. Look, if you out there and
- 10:10Speaker 1: you're trying to chase your dreams, bro, don't think twice.
- 10:14Speaker 1: If you got the right shit in your heart. You
- 10:16Speaker 1: know you love your friends, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:18Speaker 1: You know you love your hood, then you don't gotta
- 10:21Speaker 1: think twice. Chase your dreams first and then come back,
- 10:24Speaker 1: come back.
- 10:25Speaker 2: And help out. Yet, but the goal isn't to stay
- 10:27Speaker 2: in the hood. Yeah, it shouldn't be the goal.
- 10:29Speaker 1: That's only the goal for niggas who've never been there, Right,
- 10:32Speaker 1: The only niggas who ain't grow up in the hood
- 10:35Speaker 1: really just glorified just being in that motherfucker. We all
- 10:38Speaker 1: trying to make a way out. Everybody from the hood
- 10:40Speaker 1: trying to get out.
- 10:41Speaker 2: For sure, Man, what is it about man Compton? Whatever
- 10:45Speaker 2: water y'all got in Compton produce the best rappers.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Bro, we got so much talent.
- 10:49Speaker 2: It's so crazy.
- 10:50Speaker 1: It is like, I'm really grateful. I swear I'm blessed
- 10:53Speaker 1: because I'm grateful that I got something that stand out,
- 10:56Speaker 1: because otherwise, Bro, you'll be drowned in that shit.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Just loaded, Bro, so.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Many options, like whatever you looking for musically, sports wise,
- 11:06Speaker 1: all that ship, it's a lot of talent. Talent, for sure,
- 11:10Speaker 1: I can get you hit. We got just out of
- 11:13Speaker 1: my section. We got Mari Ruger, we got ys thirty,
- 11:16Speaker 1: shot copone, we got Hit at J three. You know,
- 11:20Speaker 1: like some of the bigger names. You know, Katok came
- 11:22Speaker 1: from Mars Section two. We got rosecrans hop out, we
- 11:27Speaker 1: got Vicasso, we got Ship, Chef Boy. I don't know
- 11:32Speaker 1: if you ever heard of sad boy Man. You gotta
- 11:34Speaker 1: hear Chef Boy. He crazy, he got he got all
- 11:36Speaker 1: the females going crazy.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yeah. I just think when I think of Compton, I'm like,
- 11:40Speaker 2: you know, it's just top. I mean, I mentioned Kendrick
- 11:44Speaker 2: obviously game.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 2: We got Roddy Asias Thope.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, Hey, Roddy really one of the best artists
- 11:51Speaker 1: I feel like ever to come out of California. I agree, Yeah,
- 11:55Speaker 1: like I don't feel like they give that dude his
- 11:57Speaker 1: his respect and flowers.
- 11:59Speaker 2: And it sucks to because with Roddy, I feel like
- 12:01Speaker 2: he was the first case study of the like he
- 12:05Speaker 2: had caught such a wave when his album came out,
- 12:09Speaker 2: and I feel like he was the one artist who
- 12:13Speaker 2: couldn't really that was his first real like superstar moment,
- 12:18Speaker 2: and it happened right at the beginning of COVID. Yeah,
- 12:20Speaker 2: that's what happened to me, you know what I mean,
- 12:22Speaker 2: Like COVID really, like Roddy had a festival run, planned
- 12:26Speaker 2: a bigger tour plan and then COVID just fucked up.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I feel like COVID fucked with a lot of people's momentum.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Bro Covid came in. Bro. I signed a deal during COVID,
- 12:36Speaker 1: so I didn't meet nobody from the label.
- 12:38Speaker 2: All Zoom calls, everything.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Was on Zoom. That shit was crazy, like for it
- 12:43Speaker 1: to be my first time doing everything.
- 12:45Speaker 2: So you're dealing with nothing but Zoom. Yeah, and the
- 12:46Speaker 2: record the record of companies were super paranoids and nobody
- 12:49Speaker 2: was coming.
- 12:50Speaker 1: In yeah yeah, yeah. It was a cap on everything.
- 12:52Speaker 1: It wasn't too much that nobody wanted to bet on
- 12:55Speaker 1: because you know it was our first time ever seeing
- 12:57Speaker 1: it as a whole for sure.
- 12:59Speaker 2: No, for sure? Man, talk about your what's your writing style?
- 13:04Speaker 1: Are you?
- 13:05Speaker 2: Do you write anything or is it all?
- 13:07Speaker 1: No? I ain't wrote since I got a song called Tarzan.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Y'all make sure y'all check that out. That's one of
- 13:14Speaker 1: the people favors. But I ain't wrote the song since
- 13:16Speaker 1: stars In, So I ain't wrote in like two or three.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Years before that. Like, did you write scandalous on like
- 13:23Speaker 2: the freestyle? That was a freestyle? So what would you
- 13:26Speaker 2: do when you go in and lay down the harmony first,
- 13:29Speaker 2: like the melody and then filling the lyrics.
- 13:32Speaker 1: It's so unorthodox, bro, Like, I feel like I do
- 13:34Speaker 1: that more now, Like I kind of mumble shit, or
- 13:37Speaker 1: I might even whistle fill it in. Yeah, like I'll whistle.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I'll whistle a whole beat through and then like I'll
- 13:43Speaker 1: make the whistle words are filling in with some words.
- 13:46Speaker 1: But it's so unorthodox the way I'll do it, because
- 13:50Speaker 1: it ain't. No, I really don't have no actual way
- 13:53Speaker 1: to do it. It's no right or wrong.
- 13:54Speaker 2: There's no like specific formula way you do. Like it
- 13:58Speaker 2: might be different Tuesday than it is Wednesday.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Yeah, like scandalss. I blurted that out like I was
- 14:02Speaker 1: in the I was in the booth and I just
- 14:05Speaker 1: blurted some ship out and I just kept going.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Hey, it's such a fucking amazing statement. Yeah, but that
- 14:12Speaker 2: people trying to kill me for some shit that was
- 14:14Speaker 2: really good.
- 14:14Speaker 1: That was going on in my life though. So so
- 14:17Speaker 1: that's the thing. Like a lot of times it just
- 14:19Speaker 1: really be my conscious right and it just comes out. Yeah,
- 14:23Speaker 1: And I choose conscious overbrain. Like if I'm thinking, I
- 14:26Speaker 1: always feel like we might like if we knew the formula,
- 14:29Speaker 1: then we'll all be billionaires. Like nobody really know the formula.
- 14:32Speaker 1: So I'll be trusting my conscience whenever. Whenever some shit
- 14:36Speaker 1: just come out or I feel it, I'll just run
- 14:37Speaker 1: with it. Why the sentine for a few reasons. Ship.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I did do karate a little bit growing up.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Like how far in Like how much karate? Like what
- 14:49Speaker 2: belts brown? That's pretty I mean, what is that a
- 14:52Speaker 2: couple behind black?
- 14:53Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 14:53Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:54Speaker 1: Yeah. So so when you start karate first we have
- 14:57Speaker 1: to learn all the bones and ship in the body
- 14:59Speaker 1: from the head to the feet type shit. My Sinsey
- 15:03Speaker 1: was my cousin and he ended up passing away. So
- 15:07Speaker 1: after he passed away, I never did go back to karate.
- 15:09Speaker 1: But just just the style of the word, I mean,
- 15:14Speaker 1: the people that are sence is in the world like
- 15:16Speaker 1: it's supposed to be like a teacher. In my eyes,
- 15:20Speaker 1: I look at it like as somebody that's that's kind
- 15:22Speaker 1: of humble, but still know a little bit could probably
- 15:26Speaker 1: kick your ass, but they'll spare you, you know what
- 15:29Speaker 1: I'm saying, like wisdom. If you know who Resa Islam is?
- 15:33Speaker 1: Do you know who that is? Resa Islam? They always
- 15:37Speaker 1: be taking this Instagram down, but he like next up
- 15:40Speaker 1: under Fara Khan and he'd be on Instagram like just
- 15:44Speaker 1: kicking jewels about the world and political shit. But but
- 15:48Speaker 1: when I was younger, he famous the shit now. But
- 15:51Speaker 1: when I was younger, I used to run into him
- 15:53Speaker 1: all the time, like just when I used to be
- 15:55Speaker 1: running the streets, and he used to like just grab
- 15:58Speaker 1: me and be like, you know, you're finna come with me.
- 16:00Speaker 1: He'd take me to his He had like a compound
- 16:02Speaker 1: like where they have kids read, you know, like you
- 16:07Speaker 1: could probably learn self defense all types of shit, not
- 16:09Speaker 1: even just like not even just on a Muslim level,
- 16:12Speaker 1: but just like just really just enlightening young people.
- 16:16Speaker 2: For sure.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I could tell he looked at me like I was
- 16:19Speaker 1: quite mischievous or whatever, but he's seen something else in me.
- 16:23Speaker 1: So I kind of stuck with the shit that he
- 16:27Speaker 1: used to teach me, the shit that my cousin used
- 16:29Speaker 1: to teach me, and just the shit that I naturally
- 16:32Speaker 1: The ways that I naturally was.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Because you seem like a pretty like reserved out the
- 16:36Speaker 2: way dude for being like one of the hottest dudes
- 16:39Speaker 2: in the city. Like I feel like you're You're not
- 16:42Speaker 2: like I never ever see you like being reckless online,
- 16:45Speaker 2: like you're pretty chilling.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Hell off, bro. If it was up to me, I
- 16:48Speaker 1: would never get on Instagram. I do not fuck with
- 16:52Speaker 1: social media. Bro. Social media is crazy.
- 16:55Speaker 2: It is Bro.
- 16:55Speaker 1: You open your phone and you look at this shit
- 16:59Speaker 1: and you just see a billion people trying to say
- 17:02Speaker 1: the worst thing that could possibly say to anybody, just
- 17:05Speaker 1: trying to get attention to people that they don't know.
- 17:08Speaker 1: And then the ship that that people do for the cloud,
- 17:11Speaker 1: like like like where I'm from is like a real place,
- 17:14Speaker 1: like like in my hood and bomping. It's it's weird
- 17:18Speaker 1: seeing some of these people that I might have knew
- 17:21Speaker 1: my whole life, and I see them.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Like stepping out of character for likes.
- 17:25Speaker 1: For the Internet. So it's like, damn, that shit.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Is scared not a real place, bro, it's scared of
- 17:30Speaker 2: ship out of me.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I hate it, And I already know that like you
- 17:33Speaker 1: could be you could be the most talented person in
- 17:36Speaker 1: the world, Bro, Michael Jackson, get clanned on the Internet, everybody.
- 17:38Speaker 1: You feel what I'm saying. So I know one day
- 17:40Speaker 1: I might slip it far down the stairs and y'all
- 17:43Speaker 1: gonna y'all gonna flame me for it. You're gonna be
- 17:46Speaker 1: a mean ice offering. I don't fuck with the Internet, man.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like, uh, you know, it's it's it's
- 17:54Speaker 2: it's it's a tool to use for your fans. It's
- 17:58Speaker 2: a tool to use for the music. But like a
- 18:01Speaker 2: lot of people get tied up with their quote unquote internet,
- 18:05Speaker 2: like who they are online and who they are in
- 18:08Speaker 2: real life, and then they try to somehow like you,
- 18:12Speaker 2: Like you said, you'll know somebody their entire life, and
- 18:14Speaker 2: if they get a little traction online somehow, they become
- 18:17Speaker 2: like like, yo, why are you a weirdo?
- 18:20Speaker 1: Now? Yeah, they'll run with it and I hate that shit. Yeah,
- 18:24Speaker 1: I hate it. Crazy, I hate it. Shout out to Instagram.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I love what y'all doing with the app, but it's
- 18:29Speaker 1: the people that I'm talking about, the people using the
- 18:31Speaker 1: fucking app, right, we could be using it in a
- 18:35Speaker 1: lot of positive ways, like because bro, the internet is
- 18:38Speaker 1: a blessing.
- 18:39Speaker 2: You can spread information like bro, like pove.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Even in music if you think about it, like people
- 18:44Speaker 1: used to have to put a million dollar budgets down
- 18:47Speaker 1: for videos.
- 18:47Speaker 2: You would have had to have taken a demo tape
- 18:50Speaker 2: to someone say Yo, check this out, and they gotta
- 18:52Speaker 2: play it, and then they gotta play it, they gotta
- 18:54Speaker 2: like it, they gotta call you back.
- 18:55Speaker 1: No, Now, you.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Could just go straight to the people. Then they'll tell everybody.
- 19:00Speaker 1: You sell anything you could do. But what we choose
- 19:03Speaker 1: to do with it is crazy.
- 19:04Speaker 2: It's wild, bro Like, it's like the best, the best
- 19:08Speaker 2: and worst thing that ever happen to society.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Facts for sure.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Why talk to me about your situation because you know,
- 19:17Speaker 2: like you said, like you got a ton of music,
- 19:19Speaker 2: you're sitting on some big records, Like what is holding
- 19:22Speaker 2: you back from dropping more music?
- 19:26Speaker 1: Since December? I've been I was dropping like a single
- 19:29Speaker 1: every week, and I just finally slowed down so I
- 19:32Speaker 1: can kind of calculate my next few steps. But just
- 19:35Speaker 1: being independent, it's not like it's easier. It's a faster
- 19:39Speaker 1: process because I don't got to get the records clear
- 19:41Speaker 1: at the same and shit right, but at the same time, financially,
- 19:45Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Everything falls on you. Yeah,
- 19:46Speaker 1: certain shit, you got to be able to back certain
- 19:48Speaker 1: records up. So the ones that I really care about,
- 19:52Speaker 1: I ain't just throwing them out. You just want to
- 19:53Speaker 1: throw out and see what happens. You want to make sure,
- 19:55Speaker 1: you have a plan, you want to make sure. But
- 19:56Speaker 1: the ones that I feel like is just good for
- 19:58Speaker 1: the people and just to hold the wust to keep
- 20:00Speaker 1: keep shit flying.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Hell yeah yeah, Like, like how many records you and
- 20:07Speaker 2: Greedo have on the project, because.
- 20:09Speaker 1: We got at least we probably got like ten to twelve. Yeah, man,
- 20:14Speaker 1: we got some ship too, some dope ass songs. I
- 20:17Speaker 1: gotta play something we get out of here.
- 20:19Speaker 2: For sure. I heard some ship. I want to say,
- 20:21Speaker 2: who's on these records? But you got some records, you
- 20:23Speaker 2: got some big records.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I got some ship right now. I got
- 20:26Speaker 1: some ship with I got some shit with dope boy
- 20:30Speaker 1: g herbal Wych be Fast just came out yesterday.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Another another talented.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he just came to the hill yesterday. We went
- 20:38Speaker 1: to the studio.
- 20:39Speaker 2: You blamed me a song with another guy who's from
- 20:41Speaker 2: LA who also was a little reserved online. But it's
- 20:43Speaker 2: also great with melodies.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I got some ship. The one I got
- 20:48Speaker 1: one with Todd Dollars Signing Blast.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Yes, that's the one. I'm talking about, the Tyn sign
- 20:52Speaker 2: Blast Records. Fucking crazy shit so far A shout out
- 20:55Speaker 2: to Todd. Shout out the Blast because they sent them
- 20:58Speaker 2: verses back and I was bro I felt like that.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Was what we needed right now for sure. And the
- 21:04Speaker 1: Tie tie on there. It sounds like some because I'm
- 21:06Speaker 1: a I'm a big Tie fan, you feel so all
- 21:09Speaker 1: his old work is really some ship that that kind
- 21:12Speaker 1: of help, you know, because I do harmonies and short
- 21:14Speaker 1: and I'll be singing. So that's somebody I always look to,
- 21:18Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying to not be kind of
- 21:19Speaker 1: him and Grito Greto Tie and no bullshit R Kelly,
- 21:23Speaker 1: R Kelly to go man aside from the from the
- 21:26Speaker 1: other ship, I say it all the time music, Kelly
- 21:29Speaker 1: is still listen.
- 21:32Speaker 2: You have to separate, separate the person from the art,
- 21:37Speaker 2: otherwise we ain't going to ever enjoy ship because as
- 21:41Speaker 2: you can see, what the fuck's been going on lately
- 21:43Speaker 2: is a lot of our heroes it's caught up in
- 21:45Speaker 2: some allegations and it's like, well, does that mean I
- 21:48Speaker 2: can't enjoy their contributions because R Kelly is, in my opinion,
- 21:54Speaker 2: the best songwriter ever and he's the in my opinion,
- 21:57Speaker 2: the King R and B.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Love Happy People, brow he the ship just twelve play
- 22:02Speaker 1: the R album, but the double album is my ship,
- 22:04Speaker 1: like R Kelly the self titled album You remind me
- 22:06Speaker 1: all that, Like R Kelly is.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Like still to this day, like one of my favorite artists.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Now I'm speaking from his creative contributions, like I can
- 22:16Speaker 2: look the other way on the other ship. Yeah it's
- 22:19Speaker 2: all good. Like I ain't kicking it with.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Him, Yeah, I mean, I ain't no judge. I can't
- 22:23Speaker 1: convict him and nothing.
- 22:24Speaker 2: He got convicted though, but if it was up to.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Us, we couldn't even right right right, You can enjoy
- 22:31Speaker 1: the art, but the music, Bro and then Tye really
- 22:34Speaker 1: like looking at tire work was kind of like like, Okay, damn,
- 22:37Speaker 1: if I want to be real big, can I still
- 22:39Speaker 1: be myself? Like Grido and Tie. I feel like those
- 22:43Speaker 1: two people musically they really bring like they put the
- 22:47Speaker 1: inside onto the track. Like when you first reach out
- 22:50Speaker 1: to Tire, did he reach out to you? How that worked?
- 22:53Speaker 2: Because he's tapped in a lot with the with the
- 22:55Speaker 2: new we got.
- 22:55Speaker 1: More records, that's good as hell. Yeah, hell yeah, we
- 22:58Speaker 1: got some dope records. We probably our first session we
- 23:02Speaker 1: did was probably last year at the beginning of the
- 23:06Speaker 1: last year guy, and we got some dope records. Like
- 23:09Speaker 1: I put up on him one another time and did
- 23:12Speaker 1: some dope ship. He had juicy j in there. Of
- 23:15Speaker 1: course I done put up. I don't know. I just
- 23:19Speaker 1: fucking met Eminem what doctor Dre and Snoop. I went
- 23:23Speaker 1: to dre house for a day and I got to
- 23:26Speaker 1: sit in the session and watch them work.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Bro.
- 23:29Speaker 1: That was the bro. That was the dopest shit I've
- 23:31Speaker 1: ever seen.
- 23:32Speaker 2: You got to rewind you get invited to go to
- 23:35Speaker 2: doctor Dre's house. Yeah, and Eminem and Snooper there, bro.
- 23:41Speaker 1: And then look, look put your hand out when I
- 23:44Speaker 1: when I met him, he like Marshall I'm like, bro,
- 23:48Speaker 1: I know who you is. You one of the one
- 23:50Speaker 1: of the best rappers ever. But Bro, now I understand
- 23:53Speaker 1: why they called Dre Doctor Dre like the ship that
- 23:57Speaker 1: he do in the studio, Like he really doctor them songs.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Yeah, they say he's like super particular.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Every line, Bro. And then like it gets deep, Bro,
- 24:07Speaker 1: he wanted the coldest. He might be the coldest to
- 24:10Speaker 1: do it.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Like I mean, if you think about production, if you
- 24:15Speaker 2: think about just what he has had his fingerprints on,
- 24:19Speaker 2: even just the Doctor Dre tree, you just like take
- 24:22Speaker 2: his tree and you just start looking at everything that
- 24:24Speaker 2: came from it.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Yeah. And then were from the same neighborhood too as well.
- 24:28Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 24:29Speaker 1: And I didn't even know that at first until we
- 24:31Speaker 1: got to sit down and chop it. How did you
- 24:32Speaker 1: get the invite because one of my homies, my homie Money,
- 24:37Speaker 1: they related to Dre. And you know, since I got
- 24:43Speaker 1: shit buzzing, I've been having a city rocking for sure
- 24:46Speaker 1: for a few years now. So he so he like, man,
- 24:49Speaker 1: I gotta get you over there. Him and Jay West
- 24:51Speaker 1: put it together, and shit, I linked up with him
- 24:54Speaker 1: one day and we went over there. I fell asleep.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Dre house so comfortable, bro, I fell asleep for like hour.
- 25:00Speaker 2: That's crazy. So you get in the studio, it's like
- 25:02Speaker 2: Dre be like, hey, what's up. You'd be like, hey,
- 25:04Speaker 2: we're from the same area. Man, Like he a.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Real dope dude, bro, Like like did he have Air
- 25:09Speaker 1: Force ones on? Yeah?
- 25:11Speaker 2: Yeah, all white, all white always. He's got like a
- 25:14Speaker 2: thousand pairs.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Of And you would think that, uh, like you know
- 25:18Speaker 1: some of these people because they're a little older than us.
- 25:20Speaker 1: But he hit like he's still in tune of what's
- 25:22Speaker 1: going on. He's serious about the music though. So if
- 25:25Speaker 1: you playing with his music ship, yeah, if you ain't ready,
- 25:29Speaker 1: then don't even don't they don't even introduce yourself to
- 25:33Speaker 1: Drey because he ain't gonna fuck with it. If if
- 25:36Speaker 1: if you're serious and you got some ship going on,
- 25:38Speaker 1: then I feel like I feel like he's supported.
- 25:40Speaker 2: What was that? What? What did it?
- 25:42Speaker 1: Like?
- 25:42Speaker 2: How dope? Was the ship that Snoop, Dre and m
- 25:45Speaker 2: were working on.
- 25:45Speaker 1: But that shit was cold. They was working on like
- 25:48Speaker 1: the last couple of songs of an album. I don't
- 25:51Speaker 1: know if it was a Snoop album, but but Dre
- 25:53Speaker 1: he really real, particular with these bars and Ship. I
- 25:57Speaker 1: don't know if you've seen when he got his star.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I saw that like last week.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Yeah, you seen when Snoop gave the speech and he
- 26:04Speaker 1: didn't watch the speech, but he gave the speech and
- 26:06Speaker 1: he rapped and he was like you still make me
- 26:08Speaker 1: do every line a thousand monthucking times. He wasn't capping.
- 26:11Speaker 2: So that was because because your session was what a
- 26:13Speaker 2: few weeks ago you said.
- 26:14Speaker 1: No, when I went over there, that was that was
- 26:16Speaker 1: probably like six months ago.
- 26:19Speaker 2: That shit's crazy.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Yeah, Snoop broke.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Snoopy got awards everywhere. I mean he got them all.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Diamond Awards, Grammys, all that ship. So just seeing it, Bro,
- 26:32Speaker 1: I had to see that.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Snoop's the coolest motherfucker ever too.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Snoop cool.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Snoops the kind of guy you meet and he doesn't
- 26:39Speaker 2: disappoint like you know how, Like you meet some famous
- 26:41Speaker 2: fools that like you grew up, like you grew up
- 26:43Speaker 2: listening to, and then you thought, Snoops exactly who you
- 26:47Speaker 2: hope you.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Getting exactly what you thought meeting Snoop bro Snoop a
- 26:50Speaker 1: fucking legend, all them dudes, legends, Snoop m dre Ship.
- 26:55Speaker 2: I'm grateful to even be in that session. That's hopefully
- 26:58Speaker 2: one day I can be like, did you cut any
- 27:01Speaker 2: vocals with him? Nah? They was working the whole You
- 27:03Speaker 2: were just observing.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I was just observing, fly on the wall,
- 27:07Speaker 1: watching how they're working. So I can learn how to
- 27:09Speaker 1: apply it to myself and then I know when I'm ready,
- 27:14Speaker 1: it'll happen. You know what I'm saying. But I met,
- 27:16Speaker 1: I met me. Being there led me to meeting the.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Dopest producer in the fucking world. His name is Dem Joints. Oh,
- 27:23Speaker 2: he's hard bro, THEMN Joints. He made the tie in
- 27:25Speaker 2: Blast record. He's hard bro.
- 27:27Speaker 1: He cold using live instruments. It ain't nothing that dude
- 27:31Speaker 1: can't do.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Like now, Damn Joints is a real wild child for sure.
- 27:35Speaker 2: So you right now you're are you looking for a
- 27:37Speaker 2: new situation to put out Like this time? Blast record
- 27:39Speaker 2: is a fucking smash. It's not the type of record
- 27:42Speaker 2: you just drop and hope for the best. Yeah, you
- 27:44Speaker 2: gotta have ducks in a row.
- 27:46Speaker 1: You gotta do it right. Yeah, shit, we got some
- 27:48Speaker 1: shit in the works. I am open to new conversations though.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Anybody who feel like they can give the record the
- 27:56Speaker 1: potential that I need.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Have any other artists try to sign you, artists like
- 28:01Speaker 2: you know there's artists with imprints. Is anybody try to
- 28:03Speaker 2: be like, yo, come over.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Here, you know, shout out to shout out to my
- 28:07Speaker 1: bro Zona man in Future I did go do it
- 28:12Speaker 1: like a session with with Free Bands. I ended up
- 28:16Speaker 1: just becoming family, Like that's my that's my Southern family
- 28:21Speaker 1: and Midwest family.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Yeah, Future more pre band, I think. Yeah, Joe Moses
- 28:27Speaker 2: was over there with you.
- 28:28Speaker 1: He sucked with Future Heavy, but yeah, so far, that's
- 28:31Speaker 1: like the only person that I that I really like
- 28:34Speaker 1: lashed onto.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Would you do another major label thing or did you
- 28:39Speaker 2: kind of experience that.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I want five ms? At least five ms.
- 28:46Speaker 2: That's a serious bag.
- 28:47Speaker 1: If it ain't five ms, then probably not.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Then you're gonna just kind of do do it.
- 28:52Speaker 1: You shoot my shot because you heard what I got.
- 28:54Speaker 2: I heard what you got.
- 28:57Speaker 1: I'm good right now as long as I can just
- 29:00Speaker 1: keep doing it the way I love to do it. Shit,
- 29:03Speaker 1: I'm not tripping. I mean, I feel like I feel
- 29:05Speaker 1: like what I bring to the world musically is deeper
- 29:09Speaker 1: than just you know, money or or whatever deal I
- 29:12Speaker 1: can get. I Actually I feel good about what I
- 29:15Speaker 1: give people to listen to.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I know you're super tight with Buddy, who is another
- 29:19Speaker 2: guy I just ran in him at a Rolling Loud.
- 29:21Speaker 2: But he's another guy that is just a prolific MC.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Yeah. One of the dope is my twin. Shout out
- 29:29Speaker 1: to Buddy. He just had an album released like two
- 29:32Speaker 1: days ago.
- 29:32Speaker 2: I went, yeah, I saw, I think he's got a
- 29:34Speaker 2: show tonight. Actually real, were I think it's tonight?
- 29:38Speaker 1: Yeah? I gotta pull up man, I gotta pull up
- 29:41Speaker 1: on Bro.
- 29:41Speaker 2: But I was gonna say, like, is there any other
- 29:43Speaker 2: artists in LA that you know outside of Grido that
- 29:46Speaker 2: you can see yourself collaborating with on a full project?
- 29:49Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, my bro, Kayln for real, chat to Kayleem.
- 29:52Speaker 2: That'd be crazy.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Yeah. I think me and Caaitlen have a good album.
- 29:56Speaker 2: There's something about San Diego that loves both of you guys.
- 29:59Speaker 2: If you guys do a fun can join the album,
- 30:00Speaker 2: do the release party in San Diego, because every bad
- 30:02Speaker 2: bitch in San Diego will.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Go San Diego with y'all.
- 30:07Speaker 2: For sure.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Then my hot spots right there. But me and Kaylan,
- 30:13Speaker 1: I would love to do one with Blash. I feel
- 30:16Speaker 1: like I feel like that would be good to for
- 30:18Speaker 1: the ladies and for the for the streets. Kaylen Blast
- 30:23Speaker 1: of course Beano, um who else? I would from here
- 30:29Speaker 1: or from anywhere, from anywhere. Oh, ship, it's a lot.
- 30:32Speaker 1: It's a lot. Like I would love to do a
- 30:35Speaker 1: mixed table Mazi on BPS, me and Mazie and on BPS.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Just dropped the single, probably like five the single out.
- 30:44Speaker 1: It's called I'm Good. We just dropped the single. But
- 30:48Speaker 1: it's a lot of niggas. I got a homie in
- 30:50Speaker 1: Saint Louis. His name MB's bro. He hardest ship. Nobody
- 30:55Speaker 1: really know about him yet. And Louis is bubbling man, Alexis,
- 31:00Speaker 1: Alexis bro me and Alexis gonna fuck the world up.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Shout out to Alexis Man.
- 31:05Speaker 1: We're trying to fill up arenas.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I got some. I heard this ship you guys
- 31:08Speaker 2: cut the other day. The shit's crazy, Yeah, for sure.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Stupid Geperico, Geperico making the whole tape. I got a
- 31:17Speaker 1: tape with Jakai, my bro, Jakai, he out the village.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I think he just signed with Little Bibby or Ting
- 31:25Speaker 1: not k K. Plus, I don't know all these fucking
- 31:28Speaker 1: random companies these days something like that. But he he
- 31:31Speaker 1: fucking with little Bibby Jakai cold. He wanted a cold now.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Bibby going crazy though, was an executive for sure. Travis Scott,
- 31:37Speaker 1: I would want to do it. You and Roddy would
- 31:39Speaker 1: be tough. That'd be so hard, bro, Bro, that'd be
- 31:43Speaker 1: so hard. And then and then Roddy another person that
- 31:46Speaker 1: I always looked to as well musically, like because or
- 31:51Speaker 1: like what I was doing when I was listening to
- 31:53Speaker 1: his music, like before I started doing music. A lot
- 31:56Speaker 1: of ship that he rapped about was ship that I
- 31:59Speaker 1: was just my every day life, like the age is
- 32:02Speaker 1: so our age is so close. Like a lot of
- 32:04Speaker 1: other artists, I couldn't relate to the same, but since
- 32:06Speaker 1: were so close in age, it was like, you know
- 32:09Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like this my shit right here for you.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Was there a catalyst that, you know, I feel like
- 32:16Speaker 2: everybody you know we talked earlier, you kind of had
- 32:18Speaker 2: made the decision to go all in on the music.
- 32:20Speaker 2: But was there something that happened that like kind of
- 32:23Speaker 2: made you realize, like, damn, I might be able to
- 32:25Speaker 2: I might lose this shit if I don't take it serious.
- 32:27Speaker 2: For real.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Yeah shit, all my closest friends was like, really my grandma,
- 32:35Speaker 1: My grandma passed away. My bro neverless swavy Earl Swavy
- 32:41Speaker 1: tiny West, Like I lost some real key factors, like
- 32:46Speaker 1: people that I was really doing this shit for. So
- 32:49Speaker 1: at some point I started feeling like damn, like everybody
- 32:53Speaker 1: I was doing this shit for it's kind of gone.
- 32:55Speaker 1: So it's really like I felt like just crashing out.
- 32:58Speaker 1: You feel me. But like my big bro j West,
- 33:02Speaker 1: he used to always tell me, like, nig you need
- 33:03Speaker 1: to go home, you need to sit in the house,
- 33:06Speaker 1: like go deal with your emotions, like you know what
- 33:07Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like stop just trying to run around and
- 33:13Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying, you mixing too much
- 33:14Speaker 1: bullshit with what you what you got going on your
- 33:17Speaker 1: head positively, So like big bro, he really influenced me
- 33:21Speaker 1: to get to know myself and to just deal with
- 33:24Speaker 1: all the ship that because Bro, growing up, you might
- 33:27Speaker 1: deal with a lot of shit but not actually deal
- 33:30Speaker 1: with it you think you deal with You might go
- 33:32Speaker 1: through a lot of.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Ship, bro, just because you pick up a bottle.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and then you always got friends, you always got family,
- 33:38Speaker 1: you always got people around you. But sometimes you might
- 33:41Speaker 1: need to sit by yourself.
- 33:43Speaker 2: And just face it.
- 33:44Speaker 1: It ain't no time limit on that. Like, it ain't
- 33:46Speaker 1: like I stayed in the house for one day right now,
- 33:48Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like, Nah, sit in the
- 33:51Speaker 1: house and really get to know yourself, or go somewhere
- 33:53Speaker 1: where you isolate it and really figure out what's been
- 33:56Speaker 1: going on in your head and what you really care about.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Because ship all almost gave up, bro, I really almost
- 34:01Speaker 1: gave up on this ship. And then I had like
- 34:04Speaker 1: a switch. I'm like, nah, like what the fuck, I'm
- 34:06Speaker 1: way too close.
- 34:07Speaker 2: What year was that you almost gave up?
- 34:09Speaker 1: Last year?
- 34:10Speaker 2: Wow?
- 34:10Speaker 1: I was like I was feeling like that from the
- 34:12Speaker 1: beginning of my career, bro, Like.
- 34:15Speaker 2: So like from the beginning, even though you had all
- 34:17Speaker 2: this momentum yet all these bro.
- 34:18Speaker 1: I had momentum, but I had so much bullshit going
- 34:21Speaker 1: on in my life. We didn't even know about, bro,
- 34:23Speaker 1: Like my personal life was just fucked up and it
- 34:26Speaker 1: was affecting how I was like rubbing off on people
- 34:31Speaker 1: even when I meet them, Like I didn't really care
- 34:33Speaker 1: to meet rappers or like I didn't really want to.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Business the way you were proaching music too.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Yeah, because you know what I'm saying, We all got
- 34:40Speaker 1: our personal shit, and I was I was looking at
- 34:42Speaker 1: myself like nobody else could feel how I feel, like
- 34:46Speaker 1: dumb ass shit, like we all we all lost somebody,
- 34:48Speaker 1: we all going through shit, Like I was looking at
- 34:51Speaker 1: it the complete wrong way, and I had to self evaluate.
- 34:54Speaker 2: And then like if you're going through all of that
- 34:57Speaker 2: and you don't deal with it, the other problem is
- 35:00Speaker 2: had to treat everything else in your life like it's
- 35:02Speaker 2: a job, so the rap shit becomes something you have
- 35:04Speaker 2: to do, not something you want to do.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 35:06Speaker 2: You're so preoccupied with your trauma or your heartbreak or
- 35:09Speaker 2: whatever you're going through that when you have to go
- 35:11Speaker 2: to the studio it's a chore because you would rather
- 35:14Speaker 2: go be on the phone and deal with whatever you're
- 35:16Speaker 2: dealing with or go you know what I'm saying.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Like facts for sure, and then neverless Suavey my bro
- 35:21Speaker 1: that passed away. He the one who showed me how
- 35:24Speaker 1: to use distro kid. He knew the business well, like
- 35:28Speaker 1: I didn't know none of this shit right, So so
- 35:30Speaker 1: losing him it was kind of like, ah fuck, Like
- 35:33Speaker 1: he's kind of the reason why I know, Yeah, having
- 35:35Speaker 1: somebody you could trust, Like, it ain't too many people
- 35:37Speaker 1: you can trust in this business. Sure, so having Greto
- 35:39Speaker 1: is kind of similar because like, Okay, Greeto, he always
- 35:43Speaker 1: giving me the game for sure, you feel me. But
- 35:45Speaker 1: before Greto, he wasn't home. So me losing nibs. By
- 35:50Speaker 1: the way, that's if you ever hear my son silly rabbit.
- 35:53Speaker 1: He the person on the second verse got it. But
- 35:56Speaker 1: but yeah, having him, it was like losing him was
- 35:58Speaker 1: like them. I don't don't even know if I could
- 36:00Speaker 1: find another person that I could trust, because he was
- 36:03Speaker 1: gonna give it to me. You know what I'm saying,
- 36:05Speaker 1: give me the business raw Like naw, you don't need him,
- 36:08Speaker 1: You don't need them. You don't need to do this,
- 36:10Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying, because you can go
- 36:12Speaker 1: through a lot of loops, spending your money wrong, all
- 36:14Speaker 1: types of shit.
- 36:15Speaker 2: And then also like keeping the wrong people around you.
- 36:18Speaker 2: It's energy is a real thing, man, you hell yeah,
- 36:21Speaker 2: So if you don't even realize, like damn, I got
- 36:23Speaker 2: I got this cruel people around me or the a few,
- 36:26Speaker 2: maybe it's one person around you that you don't even
- 36:28Speaker 2: realize is just adding to the the energy of the room.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Every time or your life. You're like yo, Like people
- 36:35Speaker 2: don't realize, like you got to make sure you got
- 36:37Speaker 2: to keep your energy tight bro like and protect it
- 36:40Speaker 2: because otherwise it could fuck up. They could fuck up everything.
- 36:42Speaker 1: No facts.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I think about Leonardo Wick shit like that situation where
- 36:48Speaker 2: he one of his homies fucked up some kid who's
- 36:51Speaker 2: coming up to him. Oh, I've seen that, and I'm like, man, like,
- 36:54Speaker 2: I seen that and the homie who did it, it wasn't
- 36:56Speaker 2: even a security guard, it was just one of It
- 36:58Speaker 2: was just one of his people.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Nah, it just took off on this little kid that
- 37:02Speaker 1: ain't even funny. But but I could have swore I
- 37:04Speaker 1: thought that was a security.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Though his security was was standing. It was the bigger dude.
- 37:09Speaker 2: And when I saw that, I was like, damn that
- 37:12Speaker 2: port like shot to Nardo. I met him. He's a
- 37:14Speaker 2: good dude, nice nice guy, but like, all it took
- 37:18Speaker 2: was him having the wrong dude that was just looking
- 37:21Speaker 2: take off on somebody.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Niggas. No look, look, my cousin told me, shout out
- 37:26Speaker 1: the big Adobe. He told me a few months ago, like, bro,
- 37:31Speaker 1: you do not need an entourage, like as.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Long as you are, as long as you know what, like,
- 37:37Speaker 2: as long as you're not moving around in spaces where
- 37:40Speaker 2: you know, like steady funk out of it out the way.
- 37:44Speaker 1: But when you bro like it's like niggas be scared
- 37:48Speaker 1: to look like what they are. If you're a superstar
- 37:50Speaker 1: or if you're really doing his music, shit, it's not
- 37:53Speaker 1: wrong for you to have security. For sure, come out
- 37:55Speaker 1: of your pocket, pay for some security. Someone's amaking trust.
- 37:59Speaker 2: It's smart.
- 37:59Speaker 1: And I forgot a couple of people too, Shorty Shorty,
- 38:02Speaker 1: that's my dog right, A fucking mixtape with Shorty would
- 38:06Speaker 1: be that'll be.
- 38:07Speaker 2: It's so crazy how he's from Baltimore, but he's such
- 38:10Speaker 2: a fucking West Coast artist. Love him on the West Coast.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Yeah, he he kind of changed the game for real.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Him and Kamaya shot to Kamaia Kamaya, Shorty, Shorty and
- 38:20Speaker 1: Kamaya them.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Sounds like that Buary is like a fucking that's a
- 38:24Speaker 2: West Coast classic.
- 38:25Speaker 1: That was some ship that we needed for sure. But
- 38:27Speaker 1: Big Dobe was telling me, like, bro, you don't need
- 38:30Speaker 1: all these motherfuckers around you because I love having my
- 38:33Speaker 1: homies around me, like like having this ship as something
- 38:37Speaker 1: to share. That was always idealistic to me, like, like,
- 38:40Speaker 1: this shit ain't just for me I personally, Bro, I
- 38:44Speaker 1: could have a basketball, a skateboard, some chili, cheese fries,
- 38:47Speaker 1: and a bitch or too. I'll probably never look. You're
- 38:52Speaker 1: a good skater, yeah, Bro, I do everything, So.
- 38:55Speaker 2: You could like actually get down on the skateboard. Yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 2: I can.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Who play football? Our quarterback, baseball skateboard.
- 39:02Speaker 2: There's some good rappers out there.
- 39:03Speaker 1: And I'm like probably the best bowler in the industry
- 39:07Speaker 1: for real. Anybody who needs that, man, get at me.
- 39:11Speaker 1: I'm taking all bowling.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Do you ever go to the Kingpin Monday? Shit?
- 39:14Speaker 1: No? Okay, but I bowled twice a week.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Though, twice a week, so you're really legit a bowler.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Me and Savvy Third. Me and Savy Third actually
- 39:23Speaker 1: planning on doing a bowling event and that's fire and
- 39:27Speaker 1: bringing people out so we could take some bowling face.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Wiz is a good bowler.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Oh shout out to Wiz. I fuck with dude too.
- 39:34Speaker 1: I don't think nobody can fuck with me on this
- 39:35Speaker 1: bowling ship though. I'm calling you out. I'm calling you out, Savvy,
- 39:41Speaker 1: I'm calling you out. Who else said they can bowl?
- 39:44Speaker 1: What's what's the hommy name that made he had that
- 39:46Speaker 1: hot song? Uh, blessed the bottle.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Oh, bless the bottle? Whose song was that?
- 39:52Speaker 1: Damn? Forget me because I know your you know, I
- 39:54Speaker 1: know your name, Broro. I'm just tripping right now. But
- 39:58Speaker 1: he cold. But I'm calling him out to anybody who
- 40:03Speaker 1: wanted in this bowling ship YG Nelly, I just was in.

- 40:33Speaker 2: know I was out there right everybody from LA was
- 40:37Speaker 2: out there.
- 40:37Speaker 1: We had the festival. Yeah, yeah, shout out the chef
- 40:40Speaker 1: Man chef Fest. That shit went up. Yeah. No.
- 40:42Speaker 2: I was at the club with Wiz and I left.
- 40:46Speaker 1: That's where they was at trying to get in.
- 40:47Speaker 2: I was at I was at park with Wiz and
- 40:50Speaker 2: then left and then I got to the hotel. I
- 40:55Speaker 2: woke up at like maybe five six in the morning whatever,
- 40:58Speaker 2: and I saw that ship on my fucking profile page
- 41:00Speaker 2: or whatever. I was like, what the win did this happen?
- 41:02Speaker 1: I was there? Yeah, what the fuck? See, I was
- 41:04Speaker 1: going over there, but Shorty Shorty had some ship. He
- 41:07Speaker 1: was at the OWL, so I had stopped there first. Yeah,

- 41:30Speaker 2: For sure. There was a great guys ad is a
- 41:32Speaker 2: great guy man shot at him and pun and out
- 41:34Speaker 2: in ot. I had them come to my pizza shop
- 41:37Speaker 2: opening and I just told the ad I'm like, yo,
- 41:39Speaker 2: keep your fucking shirt on the night.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Yeah. So you know, like a lot of these dudes
- 41:43Speaker 1: I knew like before I did music, feel me so
- 41:45Speaker 1: now that I'm doing something positive, it's like a full
- 41:48Speaker 1: circle moment. Like that's tho dub like bro love dub
- 41:51Speaker 1: Man Bro, that's though tatted my whole chest when I
- 41:53Speaker 1: was eighteen. Really yeah, yeah, that's tho. He was the
- 41:56Speaker 1: man with the tattoo gun.
- 41:57Speaker 2: No, I know he did tattoos. So he gave you
- 41:59Speaker 2: he blast, did you in your eighteen.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Last of my chest? When I was eighteen, a D brother, I,
- 42:04Speaker 1: me and a D brother fit. We was actually real
- 42:07Speaker 1: close before he ended up going to jail. He got
- 42:10Speaker 1: out there, he doing like gospel rapping shit. He dope.
- 42:13Speaker 2: That's dope man.
- 42:14Speaker 1: But yeah, so it'd be like full circle moments that
- 42:17Speaker 1: I that I love, Like I met Joe Moses at
- 42:20Speaker 1: a D brother house probably when I was like fourteen.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Fucking crazy when you were a kid, you met Joe Moses.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, you know they always talk about how like
- 42:28Speaker 2: Joe Moses and Ad like they've known each other since
- 42:30Speaker 2: like AD was a fucking kid essentially.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that's fact.
- 42:33Speaker 2: So that's dope man. Shout to Joe.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Like all the people that you see me fucking with
- 42:37Speaker 1: most of the time, I knew them like savvy third
- 42:39Speaker 1: Like me and Bro stayed like next door to each
- 42:42Speaker 1: other basically when I stayed in the Lone Beach. So
- 42:44Speaker 1: it's like all this shit is just it's like I
- 42:48Speaker 1: didn't know what I was doing when I was just
- 42:50Speaker 1: running the streets, but it all ended up making a sense,
- 42:52Speaker 1: making sense.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Full circle moments.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Man.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Yeah, well look, you got a ton of music on
- 42:56Speaker 2: the way. Like you said, you just drop a Mazi.

- 43:11Speaker 1: swear out, I got a I got a song called
