  Mark chapter 13 Let us pray, our Father, who is in heaven, holy
• 0:10
  is your name, your Kingdom come, and your will be done on earth
• 0:15
  just as it is in heaven. Give us today Our Daily Bread
• 0:18
  and forgive us for our trespasses, as we forgive those
• 0:22
  who trespassed against us. Lead us not into temptation,
• 0:25
  Father, but deliver us from the evil one, for thine is the
• 0:30
  Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.
• 0:33
  Amen. Let's start in verse one.
• 0:38
  And he went out of the temple. One of his disciples said unto
• 0:44
  him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are
• 0:48
  here too. And Jesus answered and said unto
• 0:51
  him, CSU these great buildings, there shall not be left one
• 0:57
  stone upon another that shall not be thrown down.
• 1:02
  So here Jesus is letting his disciples know that they should
• 1:08
  not marvel at all of the architecture of Jerusalem, that
• 1:14
  in AD 70 every single one of them will be thrown down. 3 And
• 1:22
  as he sat upon the Mount of Olives over against the temple,
• 1:26
  Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately for
• 1:31
  Tell us, when shall these things be?
• 1:34
  And what shall be the sign when all these things shall be
• 1:38
  fulfilled? So here they're coming to Jesus
• 1:42
  and asking him very simple, childlike questions.
• 1:48
  And Jesus is so kind and he's so good at what he does that he
• 1:53
  describes all different kinds of events all in one.
• 1:57
  He knows what He's talking about, and it would do us well
• 2:01
  to lock in and to try to unearth and uncover what He is made very
• 2:07
  plain. Five.
• 2:11
  And Jesus answer them, began to say, Take heed lest any man
• 2:16
  deceive you. There will be so much deception
• 2:19
  in the last days, friends. There will be the spirit of
• 2:22
  Antichrist that comes on the scene to try to deceive many. 6
• 2:28
  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ and deceive
• 2:32
  many. So here Jesus is telling us how
• 2:35
  to safeguard ourselves against all of the false Christs that
• 2:40
  will show up on the scene in the last day.
• 2:42
  They will try to claim that He is Christ, but He's going to let
• 2:45
  us know how He is going to come, and the whole world will see
• 2:49
  Him. And there will be no one who
• 2:52
  should take us by the hand or try to persuade us to go into
• 2:56
  the inner room to go any in anywhere to go see Christ,
• 3:01
  because the whole world will know that He's here. 7 And when
• 3:06
  you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be you not
• 3:10
  troubled. For such things must needs be,
• 3:14
  but the end shall not be yet. So we need to know that whenever
• 3:18
  there's wars and rumors of wars, it is not the alarm, it is not
• 3:22
  the sounding of the alarm. There was wars and rumors of
• 3:26
  wars in their day, in their hour.
• 3:28
  There was wars and rumors of wars when Israel was coming into
• 3:32
  their rightful geographical place.
• 3:36
  There was wars and rumors of wars all the way back when
• 3:40
  Nimrod established warfare. There was wars and rumors of
• 3:45
  wars. There's been so many.
• 3:47
  So we need to not be so alarmed when nation rises against
• 3:52
  nation. Do not be troubled, friends. 8
• 3:56
  For nation shall rise against nation, and Kingdom against
• 4:00
  Kingdom, and there shall be earthquakes in diverse places,
• 4:04
  and there shall be famines and troubles.
• 4:07
  These are the beginnings of sorrows.
• 4:10
  So we know that there's coming a day in an age where it'll be
• 4:15
  worse than it's ever been since the creation of the world.
• 4:18
  And if God had not shortened those days, no one would
• 4:21
  survive. And he's telling us those are
• 4:24
  all the beginnings of the birth pains.
• 4:28
  They're the beginnings of the sorrows, friends.
• 4:31
  And it just reveals the evil in the heart of man.
• 4:37
  Ever since Cain killed Abel, there's such a murderous envy
• 4:44
  within us whenever God chooses some and rejects others.
• 4:49
  And it just shows why God rejected them because they were
• 4:53
  already hostile towards him. And it is this big plan and God
• 4:59
  already knows what we're going to do, and we are so finite in
• 5:05
  our thought processes, and we can only tap in to just a thread
• 5:12
  of the way that God works. And thanks, friends, but thank
• 5:15
  God, Hallelujah, he gave us the full counsel here.
• 5:20
  They're just the beginnings of sorrows. 9 But take heed to
• 5:25
  yourselves, for they shall deliver you up to councils, and
• 5:29
  in the synagogue you shall be beat, and you shall be brought
• 5:32
  before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against
• 5:36
  them. So a lot of times whenever we're
• 5:39
  being persecuted, just like Paul, whenever he got to stand
• 5:43
  before Agrippa, we got to speak to them and tell them all of the
• 5:49
  things that God has done in our lives.
• 5:51
  And it is for a witness against them because they have chosen
• 5:55
  the power, they have chosen the greed, they have chosen this
• 5:59
  world, and they do not know what to do with someone who's not
• 6:03
  afraid of losing their life. Friends 10 and the gospel must
• 6:10
  first be published among all nations.
• 6:14
  Praise God. Hallelujah.
• 6:15
  Look at how the Internet has changed everything.
• 6:18
  We can have Zoom calls all over the world.
• 6:22
  We can have all kinds of meetings, and we can tell people
• 6:28
  about the Lord Jesus Christ in distant lands.
• 6:31
  And look at how look at how aviation and travel has changed
• 6:36
  everything. We can be anywhere in a day and
• 6:40
  we can link up with people from a video in a millisecond.
• 6:45
  Just think about it, friends. The Gospel will be published in
• 6:50
  all nations. 11:00 But when they shall lead you and deliver you
• 6:55
  up, take no thought beforehand what you shall speak, neither do
• 6:59
  you premeditate, but whatsoever shall be given you in the hour
• 7:04
  that you speak. For it is not you that speak,
• 7:07
  but the Holy Ghost. He makes it plain that we don't
• 7:10
  need to worry about what we're going to say whenever we're
• 7:13
  before an entire courtroom, that we just need to give it over to
• 7:17
  God and let him speak through US.
• 7:19
  Friends 12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and
• 7:24
  the father, the son, and the children shall rise up against
• 7:27
  their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. 13 And
• 7:30
  you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
• 7:33
  But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved.
• 7:37
  So he tells us. There's going to be hostility
• 7:40
  within our own 4 walls, and people will be turning against
• 7:43
  each other. And you can see it shaping up in
• 7:46
  our day and our hour with all the ideas that are coming
• 7:49
  through on even the children and the teenagers and the young
• 7:56
  adults and even the elderly. And you could see that all of
• 8:00
  these ideas that are coming through and they are being
• 8:04
  propagated and turning people against God and turning people
• 8:09
  against Christians and turning people against the faith.
• 8:13
  You can see it all shaping up today. 14 but when you shall see
• 8:18
  the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet
• 8:22
  standing where ought not let him that reads understand then let
• 8:27
  them that be in Judea flee to the mountains.
• 8:30
  So he's talking about here that the 3rd temple that needs to be
• 8:35
  built in Israel, where the Antichrist is going to come in
• 8:39
  and demand to be worshipped as God, and he's going to demand
• 8:44
  that everyone worships him as God.
• 8:46
  He's telling, Jesus is telling the Jewish nation here at this
• 8:51
  time to flee from that place. 15 And let him that is on the
• 8:57
  housetop not go down into the house, neither enter into it,
• 9:01
  and take anything out of his house. 16 And let him that is in
• 9:05
  the field not turn back again for to take up his clothing. 17
• 9:10
  But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give
• 9:13
  suck in those days. 18 And pray that your flight is not in
• 9:17
  winter. 19 For in those days shall be affliction such as was
• 9:22
  not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto
• 9:27
  this time neither shall be. 20 And except the Lord has
• 9:30
  shortened those days, no flesh should be saved, but for the
• 9:35
  elects sake whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days.
• 9:39
  So we have to understand that the entire point of the
• 9:42
  Tribulation is for the Jews to be able to rebuild their temple.
• 9:49
  He gives them the 3 1/2 years of peace, but then in the middle of
• 9:52
  the seven years, he turns on them.
• 9:55
  He reveals that he is the Antichrist.
• 9:57
  He demands to be worshipped. And he's showing for those that
• 10:00
  are going to put their faith for the Jews, that will put their
• 10:04
  faith in their Messiah, Jesus Christ.
• 10:07
  He's telling them to flee. He's telling them that God is
• 10:10
  going to shorten those days. He's telling them to take heart.
• 10:14
  He's telling them to finish well.
• 10:16
  He's telling them not to worry about what they're going to say,
• 10:20
  friends, and he's telling them to pray that their time of
• 10:27
  affliction will not come in winter. 21 And then if any man
• 10:34
  shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ, or lo, he is there,
• 10:39
  believe him not. 22 For false Christ, false prophets shall
• 10:43
  rise, and shall show signs and wonders to seduce, if it were
• 10:49
  possible, even the elect. 23 But take you heed.
• 10:53
  Behold, I have told you these things beforehand.
• 10:56
  So Jesus here is making it as plain as the nose on your face.
• 11:00
  He leaves nothing to to the imagination.
• 11:03
  He tells us not to go anywhere with anybody who tries to tell
• 11:08
  us that Christ is here for the whole world.
• 11:10
  We'll see that He's here and there will be many false
• 11:15
  prophets and there will be many false Christs, and they will try
• 11:20
  to deceive people with their miracles.
• 11:22
  We cannot believe in the miracles themselves because it
• 11:26
  does not show that those people are attached to God.
• 11:30
  If you remember, whenever Moses and Aaron went in to see Pharaoh
• 11:34
  and they threw the staff down and they turned into snakes, and
• 11:37
  then the magicians could do the same.
• 11:39
  We cannot trust in the miracles, friends.
• 11:41
  They did not show that That is authentic relationship with
• 11:46
  Yahweh. We need to know that there is
• 11:51
  this black magic, this dark magic, the occult, and it is
• 11:57
  very trivial and very minute power in that, but it is nothing
• 12:05
  in comparison to the great God I am.
• 12:11
  And the Lord allows all of it to reveal the hearts of man.
• 12:17
  Friends, just so you know. 24 But in those days after that
• 12:23
  tribulation, the sun shall be darkened in, the moon shall not
• 12:27
  give her light, 25 and the stars of heaven shall fall in.
• 12:30
  The powers that are in heaven shall be shook. 26 And then
• 12:35
  shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great
• 12:40
  power and glory. 27 And then shall he send his angels, and
• 12:45
  shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the
• 12:49
  uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
• 12:53
  So here comes Jesus Christ. This is the Armageddon.
• 12:57
  This is the the battle that is, he's going to slay them with the
• 13:02
  two edged sword from his mouth, with eyes like fire and hair
• 13:06
  like wool. He's not coming back as a meek
• 13:09
  lamb. He's not coming back has led to
• 13:13
  the slaughter. No, he's coming back as the
• 13:15
  rightful conqueror that they had all wanted him to come as in his
• 13:20
  first advent, but he disappointed them and they
• 13:24
  turned their backs on him because He went in lowly and
• 13:27
  meek. But he's not coming back that
• 13:30
  way, friends. And it'll finally get their
• 13:31
  attention and they'll realize that they had murdered their
• 13:34
  Messiah and He's bringing all of us with Him.
• 13:38
  We will be with Him forever more when we go to meet him in the
• 13:42
  clouds, friends. And he's saying that when he
• 13:45
  comes back, he's going to gather all those that have put their
• 13:48
  faith in him during the tribulation time.
• 13:51
  Friends 28 now learn a parable of the fig tree.
• 13:55
  When her branch is yet tender and puts forth leaves, you know
• 13:59
  that summer is near. He's telling us that we'll be
• 14:02
  able to see the signs of him coming.
• 14:05
  His people who believe in him, who are truly in tune with him,
• 14:11
  will be able to know. They'll be able to look up and
• 14:14
  see that their redemption is drawing near and His rewards are
• 14:18
  with Him. 29 So you in like manner, when you shall see these
• 14:22
  things come to pass, know that it is near even at the doors.
• 14:28
  Truly I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass until
• 14:32
  all these things be done. He is talking about the Jews not
• 14:38
  being obliterated and annihilated.
• 14:42
  They will still be around, friends, in his coming.
• 14:46
  You can't do anything with these people.
• 14:48
  They are the most heavily persecuted people group of all
• 14:51
  time, and they're still around and they're still mainstream
• 14:54
  politics. We're still talking about them
• 14:57
  today, aren't we, Friends? Look up and see that it is at
• 15:00
  the door. It is at the very door, friends.
• 15:04
  The leaves are on the tree and summer is near it right with
• 15:10
  God. Make it all right with God.
• 15:13
  Confess everything, repent and be baptized, friends, for Jesus
• 15:18
  second coming is near. It's at the very door.
• 15:21
  Friends. 31 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words
• 15:26
  shall not pass away. He's telling us that there is
• 15:29
  this second destruction that is coming by fire, and he is going
• 15:34
  to purify the earth, friends, and he's telling us that his
• 15:38
  very words will endure forever. 32 But of that day and that hour
• 15:45
  knows no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the
• 15:49
  Son but the Father. I want you to know that anytime
• 15:52
  you're ever listening to somebody who tries to set a date
• 15:55
  to tell you when Jesus is coming, run from those people.
• 15:59
  They are dangerous. 33 Take you heed, watch and pray for you
• 16:06
  know not when the time is. So there again he's telling us
• 16:11
  to do not be deceived. Do not listen to somebody who
• 16:16
  tries to tell you that they have a corner on when the Lord is
• 16:20
  coming back and they're trying to set the date.
• 16:24
  Run from those people. They are dangerous. 34 For the
• 16:28
  Son of Man is a man taking a far journey, who left his house and
• 16:33
  gave authority to his servants and to every man his work, and
• 16:37
  commanded the Porter to watch, watch, watch, and pray, watch
• 16:45
  and pray. Look up, for your redemption is
• 16:48
  drawing near, and his rewards are with him, friends. 35 Watch
• 16:54
  you therefore, for you know not when the master of the house
• 16:58
  comes at evening, at midnight, or at the cock crowing, or in
• 17:05
  the morning, 36 lest coming suddenly he finds you sleeping.
• 17:11
  37 And what I say unto you, I say unto all, watch.
• 17:21
  If the strong man knew when his house would be broken into, he
• 17:24
  would not allow it becomes like a thief in the night.
• 17:28
  We need to be like the five wise virgins and not like the five
• 17:32
  foolish versions. We need to keep our oil filled,
• 17:36
  our Wicks trimmed, our lights burning bright.
• 17:40
  We do not need to be deceived. We do not need to be rocked by
• 17:44
  every wind and every wave. We do not need to be double
• 17:49
  minded friends. We cannot have one foot in the
• 17:52
  boat and 1 foot in the water. We cannot choose the this world,
• 17:57
  we must choose Him. We must hang on every syllable.
• 18:00
  We must choose the Lord God Almighty above every emotion,
• 18:05
  above every single thing that tries to entangle us and tries
• 18:10
  to ensnare us and tries to choke out the fruit in our lives.
• 18:14
  Friends, we must choose Him. Watch and pray for your
• 18:18
  redemption is drawing near, friends.
• 18:21
  It's nearer today than it was yesterday, and there's not a
• 18:25
  scholar alive who can debate that fact.
• 18:29
  It's nearer today than it was yesterday.
• 18:41
  Jesus is so kind as to give us these words for us to study and
• 18:50
  to believe and not try to discredit and discount and not
• 18:56
  try to push aside and push away, or to pretend as if everything
• 19:04
  is fine and all these things have already come to pass.
• 19:10
  They'll never happen. And we've made a love decision
• 19:14
  for this world and we love the wealth and we love all the
• 19:18
  pleasures and the pleasantries of this life.
• 19:21
  And we don't actually look forward to Jesus coming back.
• 19:28
  We need to lock in with the Saviour.
• 19:30
  We need to be found doing what it is that He has asked us to
• 19:34
  do. And it is not our works that get
• 19:37
  us in, friends. But I want you to know that the
• 19:39
  Lord knows who belongs to him and he's bringing his sheep into
• 19:45
  the fold. I hope you've been blessed by
