- 8:10Speaker 1: He's like, oh, jobless and we're laughing like he does.
- 8:16Speaker 1: He's got like a side hustle of real estate. He

- 8:21Speaker 1: fucking got caught drinking beer, got caught drinking beer on
- 8:28Speaker 1: site last week And he's like, well, I wasn't caught

- 9:20Speaker 3: the blue collar.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Anybody that's new out there to listening to us talking
- 9:24Speaker 1: about community, I was talking about having dads on all
- 9:27Speaker 1: this stuff that we're sitting here, calling back to write ins, voicemails, emails,
- 9:31Speaker 1: all that stuff. We have a community. It's called Papa
- 9:33Speaker 1: Team six or Milk Team six for the moms, or
- 9:35Speaker 1: Seeman Team six with the young lads who aren't necessarily
- 9:37Speaker 1: fathers yet you might be breeding until dad status. That's
- 9:41Speaker 1: budge training right now where you are in the process
- 9:43Speaker 1: of trying to get your little one. We have an
- 9:45Speaker 1: incredible community. It is the best fatherhood community out there. Guys,
- 9:50Speaker 1: they're they're everywhere. They're everywhere. You want to shout out

- 10:05Speaker 1: The goom Brays are just catch up for whatever reason,
- 10:07Speaker 1: enjoy listening to this podcast. Has nothing to do with
- 10:09Speaker 1: their life, and they just love listen to a couple
- 10:11Speaker 1: of kids.
- 10:12Speaker 2: They're not trying anyone. Like they you look like five
- 10:15Speaker 2: years into their future. It's like, I'm for sure not
- 10:17Speaker 2: having kids in the next five years. Yeah, those are
- 10:19Speaker 2: the goom break.
- 10:20Speaker 1: They're they're dating nobody, or they're dating everybody, or they're

- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah, Happy Mother's.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Day, Happy mother.
- 11:13Speaker 1: He had to call his mom to make sure this
- 11:15Speaker 1: was okay, because he's still under his mom and dad's
- 11:17Speaker 1: roof their house their rules.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Oh, Matt had to call his spirit.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Matt had to call his parents to make sure this
- 11:23Speaker 1: was a go. Because Matt toltal of his car a
- 11:25Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago. It wasn't When I say totaled,
- 11:26Speaker 1: its not near as bad as it sounds. The whole
- 11:29Speaker 1: entire front bumper fell off because he accidentally rear ended somebody.
- 11:32Speaker 3: He was he was not texting and driving.
- 11:35Speaker 1: He just bumped them, but apparently he was looking for
- 11:37Speaker 1: oncoming traffic and bumped somebody.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Front bumper all the way off total.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Of the car. He's been driving a rental. He's been
- 11:43Speaker 1: looking and in the market for a new car. We
- 11:45Speaker 1: found this new car on cars dot cars dot com,
- 11:50Speaker 1: cars dot Com and in Arizona. There's a bit that
- 11:53Speaker 1: started through Taylor to He's got to pick up a
- 11:55Speaker 1: car in Arizona. And go eat it zips which has
- 11:57Speaker 1: phenomenal wings shout out three wings to shout out your
- 12:02Speaker 1: boy and.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Shout out your boy.
- 12:05Speaker 2: You can shout him out when he's on.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we can shout him out when he's on.
- 12:08Speaker 1: But the deal is we will buy him the car,
- 12:13Speaker 1: and all he has to do is the stipulation is
- 12:18Speaker 1: he has to fly We fly him to Arizona, he
- 12:20Speaker 1: has to pick up the car, he has to drive
- 12:21Speaker 1: it all the way back. And he's got some side
- 12:23Speaker 1: quests along the way, going through Texas, going through Albuquerque
- 12:28Speaker 1: to where he's got to create content and essentially earn
- 12:30Speaker 1: this free car that he's going to be getting.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, gosh. He called my mom and wisher a
- 12:35Speaker 2: happy Mother's Day and say, oh, also, can you let
- 12:38Speaker 2: three of my coworkers sleep at your house?
- 12:41Speaker 1: Yeah? Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's gonna be stopping through
- 12:43Speaker 1: him Mitch Ryan Olan, Yeah yeah, They're all gonna be
- 12:46Speaker 1: going through. So you can follow those at bustin WTB socials,
- 12:49Speaker 1: all busting with the boy stuff. I got some here
- 12:52Speaker 1: I'd love to kick off please instead of saving it
- 12:54Speaker 1: for the lesson of the week and at the end,
- 12:56Speaker 1: since it's a it's a Mother's Day theme. I have
- 13:01Speaker 1: some here that I would like to share for everybody,
- 13:03Speaker 1: whether you are somebody with a mom, whether you're somebody
- 13:05Speaker 1: without a mom, whether somebody or you're somebody that has
- 13:10Speaker 1: your wife who is the mother of your children.
- 13:13Speaker 3: This is a Mother's Day message from for the dads.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Most of us. And again I'm writing from a spot
- 13:19Speaker 1: to where we're going to be listening to videos that
- 13:21Speaker 1: Deeke's mom sent in, Chef's mom sent insures mom sent in.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Everybody knows that your boys cried on this podcast many
- 13:29Speaker 1: of times talking about my mother could because my mother
- 13:31Speaker 1: suddenly passed away four or five years ago, four or
- 13:35Speaker 1: five years ago, Ruse four, so it was when Charle
- 13:37Speaker 1: was pregnant. But this message here, most of us will
- 13:42Speaker 1: never know when the last time was, the last time
- 13:44Speaker 1: your mom sent you a message, the last time she
- 13:46Speaker 1: called just to check in, the last time she said
- 13:48Speaker 1: I love you before you rushed off the phone.
- 13:51Speaker 3: You didn't market nobody ever does.
- 13:54Speaker 1: For the dads who still have their mom, you're in
- 13:56Speaker 1: the middle of those last times right now and you
- 13:58Speaker 1: don't even know it. My boys, listen up here, Zach
- 14:01Speaker 1: and Trey listen to this. Call her this week, not
- 14:04Speaker 1: because there's something wrong, but because nothing is wrong. Drive
- 14:08Speaker 1: over there for no reason, let her talk too long
- 14:10Speaker 1: about something you don't care about, and actually listen to.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Let her be proud of you out loud, even if
- 14:15Speaker 1: it does embarrass you, because some of us would give
- 14:17Speaker 1: everything we have for one more of those ordinary moments.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Doesn't have to be a holiday. Don't wait for it
- 14:22Speaker 1: to be a holiday. Don't wait for it to be
- 14:24Speaker 1: a birthday. How about just a regular Tuesday or a Wednesday.
- 14:27Speaker 1: As you're listening to this episode and while we're here,
- 14:32Speaker 1: look at the mother of your children. She's doing the
- 14:34Speaker 1: same thing for you, are for your kids that your
- 14:36Speaker 1: mom did for you. The invisible work, the worry that
- 14:40Speaker 1: never clocks out, the mental load we have no idea
- 14:43Speaker 1: about or even how to solve. Sometimes the love she
- 14:45Speaker 1: gives you and the kids that doesn't even need a reason.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Don't wait for her to tell you she's running on empty.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Let me see that again. Don't wait for her to
- 14:54Speaker 1: tell you she's running on empty. See it before she
- 14:57Speaker 1: has to say it. This Mother's Day weekend, don't you
- 15:00Speaker 1: buy the flowers and call it done. Tell her specifically,
- 15:02Speaker 1: what she means to your kids, what she means to you.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Make her feel like the most important person in the room,
- 15:07Speaker 1: because she is. Your kids are going to grow up
- 15:10Speaker 1: and feel exactly about her the way you feel about
- 15:14Speaker 1: your mom right now. Make sure she knows that. And
- 15:18Speaker 1: for the dads who have lost their mom, you carry
- 15:20Speaker 1: her and how you parent in the things you catch
- 15:22Speaker 1: yourself saying to your kids that she used to say
- 15:24Speaker 1: to you. You carry her in those fond memories and
- 15:27Speaker 1: thoughts about her that your kids will never fully understand,
- 15:30Speaker 1: but feel. She didn't leave, she just changed form. Love
- 15:34Speaker 1: your mom like you already know the date, Love the
- 15:36Speaker 1: mother of your children, like she's watching you become the
- 15:38Speaker 1: man your mom wanted you to be. That is the message,
- 15:43Speaker 1: oh that I would like to I wanted to kind
- 15:48Speaker 1: of start with that versus I don't know how long
- 15:50Speaker 1: people listen. I don't know if people listen for like
- 15:52Speaker 1: forty five minutes and then don't finish the rest of
- 15:54Speaker 1: the episode. I know there are a bunch of POPA
- 15:55Speaker 1: Team sikos out there. But again, before we dive into
- 15:59Speaker 1: all the mother stuff, I did want to I did
- 16:02Speaker 1: want to share that because it's stuff like that. It's like,
- 16:05Speaker 1: we know how precious life is and you truly, you
- 16:08Speaker 1: legitimately never know. Yeah, So love your mom's voice. Call
- 16:14Speaker 1: your mom's legit, call your mom your call your mom's.
- 16:17Speaker 2: There were two things that we'll see in my mom
- 16:20Speaker 2: interview or my mom's videos that I was embarrassed about.
- 16:25Speaker 2: That were those not the first words out of my
- 16:27Speaker 2: mouth when I came into the office. It was to
- 16:30Speaker 2: Chef and Derek about something. We'll see it later in
- 16:35Speaker 2: the pod. But you wrote so eloquently, you know, let
- 16:39Speaker 2: your mom brag about you and be embarrassed by it.
- 16:41Speaker 1: It's the worst, but that one, God damn it. Fellas
- 16:46Speaker 1: enjoy it.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Yeah that when there laughs, say mom, stop mom please.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Then when you let her know that she's embarrassing you
- 16:55Speaker 1: on the way out, just let her know that you
- 16:56Speaker 1: love her.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Well, I love you very much. You're a good man.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I love you too. Bro, Hey, Fellas, call your mom
- 17:03Speaker 1: call him s week that you a matter of fact,
- 17:05Speaker 1: it's got to be put on their It's got to
- 17:07Speaker 1: be put on their internship like action items.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Make sure you call your mom. Get I brag about
- 17:12Speaker 3: Zach really quick.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Will his Mother's Day gift is that the one you're
- 17:16Speaker 2: going That's what I'm going with. That's where you're going with.
- 17:20Speaker 8: Text her this morning to see uh when she has
- 17:23Speaker 8: availability Saturday, because obviously they're not open Sunday. But that's
- 17:27Speaker 8: what we're doing.
- 17:27Speaker 3: He got her a massage at the Four Seasons.
- 17:32Speaker 9: And so if.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Anybody's wondering if Zach loves his MoMA or not, he
- 17:39Speaker 2: told us he was getting that chefing on. You flipped over.
- 17:43Speaker 10: Yeah, dude, hell yeah, yeah.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Thank you. That Jill's idea. Jill's idea, but I'll take it.
- 17:51Speaker 2: We have maybe the best easiest segue of all time
- 17:54Speaker 2: because we have some callbacks from last episode, and I
- 17:58Speaker 2: thought that this would be a great one for our
- 18:01Speaker 2: Mother's Day episode.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I have one two. Autism Miller wrote in Oh good good,
- 18:07Speaker 1: the boys are back there to Autism Miller, you'll have
- 18:09Speaker 1: to watch them.
- 18:10Speaker 6: You'll have to watch the ty because he was helping
- 18:12Speaker 6: me cut calm okay kind of looked at it.
- 18:14Speaker 2: I was like, I got a story for that. This
- 18:16Speaker 2: guy's really autism kinda Kaida, He's a lighter off. Trevor
- 18:23Speaker 2: uh oh Elitt. Trevor Ewleitt wrote in Hey, Brandon, don't
- 18:30Speaker 2: do it you're gonna put a dent in that boy's head?
- 18:33Speaker 2: What is that in reference to? You'll have to watch
- 18:36Speaker 2: last episode. You have to check out last episode because
- 18:39Speaker 2: I don't know what that's a reference to.
- 18:41Speaker 6: We had a phone call about a gentleman who, uh,
- 18:44Speaker 6: who had a piss missile and he was scared to
- 18:46Speaker 6: have shockwave with his wonderful wife because she was pregnant.
- 18:50Speaker 2: And so people are be careful. Trevor was giving them
- 18:54Speaker 2: a hard time. Yeah, Brandon, you're fine, You're gonna be
- 18:58Speaker 2: all good, be all good.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I got one here from an autism miller. And again,
- 19:07Speaker 1: if you're laughing yourself of you're thinking, what the hell
- 19:09Speaker 1: are you saying? Will you see you're gonna have to

- 19:14Speaker 1: as well. Major update from the Autism Household. We welcome

- 20:04Speaker 1: in right now. What we got?
- 20:10Speaker 2: Another one from Joel Torpie five eight three zero on YouTube.
- 20:13Speaker 2: He says taking notes of your wife's favorite meals is
- 20:16Speaker 2: not a dad act. That's just simping.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Say that again.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Joel Torpie five eight three zero Dad Extraordinaire says, taking
- 20:27Speaker 2: notes of your wife's favorite meals is not a dad act.
- 20:30Speaker 3: That's just simping. You're just being a simp.
- 20:35Speaker 2: No, simple, You're just caring about somebody else enough to
- 20:39Speaker 2: like take note of something that they enjoy that brings
- 20:42Speaker 2: happiness to them.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Dude, what a piece of shit.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Imagine la him sitting next to one of his boys
- 20:47Speaker 1: and he's like, what are you doing? And he's like
- 20:48Speaker 1: writing at his notes said, He's like, I'm just I'm
- 20:50Speaker 1: mapping out what my life, what my wife loves because
- 20:54Speaker 1: I don't want to mess up orders in the future
- 20:55Speaker 1: because I love her dearly like she's Yeah, I'm just
- 20:58Speaker 1: trying to do a solid buyer because I forget stuff.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Mother, my kids. You know yea love my life. Dude,
- 21:03Speaker 3: stop simping from you.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Sound like a bitch.
- 21:07Speaker 2: You're such a bitch. Oh my god, you actually love her?
- 21:11Speaker 2: He loves his wife. What an idiot. So that's some
- 21:16Speaker 2: That's some news you can use from Joel Torpy five
- 21:19Speaker 2: eight three zero.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Here's one from a Ted Casper on Spotify Love Spotify
- 21:23Speaker 1: comments fellows d m V area Ptsico here and I
- 21:27Speaker 1: physically winced at the Virginia side of d C.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Whole conversation was hilarious though. Oh no, and he's a
- 21:34Speaker 2: DC boy. Yeah, oh so it's not a thing.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Did you guys? Are you guys familiar with Washington the
- 21:39Speaker 1: district of Columbia? Tray says, no, been once.
- 21:51Speaker 2: He's been. Well, apparently there's not a Maryland side.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Are you Are you familiar like where it's at on
- 21:57Speaker 1: the map, like over in Maryland Virginia area.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Yeah, d m V our nation's capital.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Would you say that we're at lands, similar to like
- 22:10Speaker 1: Kansas City being on the side of Kansas and Missouri.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Are you familiar that there's a side of Maryland in Virginia. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 22:19Speaker 1: how about you.
- 22:20Speaker 3: There's no wrong answer here.
- 22:23Speaker 1: That's not true Maryland side in the Virginia side.
- 22:27Speaker 8: I'm pretty sure it's fully in Virginia. I think I
- 22:31Speaker 8: think just on a map. We've been trained from like
- 22:34Speaker 8: where the little big stars.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I'm with you, the way society has trained us, the
- 22:40Speaker 1: way society has trained us.
- 22:42Speaker 8: It's definitely that big circle, right you know you guys
- 22:45Speaker 8: ever had like the place mats as little kids, with
- 22:47Speaker 8: like the with like the map and stuff. Yeah, oh yeah,
- 22:51Speaker 8: yeah that conditioned us as children.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Well yeah, put the tinpole had on that bullshit, and
- 23:00Speaker 1: social studies conditioned this.
- 23:03Speaker 6: This side of the table would like to express that
- 23:05Speaker 6: it is not a circle. It's a square. I would
- 23:08Speaker 6: like everyone to know that he's wrong about the circle.
- 23:09Speaker 6: It's a square square.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Okay, So we're learning stuff right now, and my man said.
- 23:16Speaker 1: It's it's fully in Virginia.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Fully in Virginia. And they're trying to get you. He's
- 23:27Speaker 2: trying to get you. I'm asking questions, asking questions. I
- 23:31Speaker 2: will say this. I was thinking about it. Vatican City. Okay,
- 23:36Speaker 2: if I'm on a phone call in Vatican City, Trey
- 23:40Speaker 2: calls me up.
- 23:41Speaker 3: He says, yo, sure, what are you doing.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Where are you? Am I gonna tell him, Hey, I'm
- 23:45Speaker 2: in Vatican City? Or am I going to be like, hey,
- 23:48Speaker 2: I'm in Rome.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Vatican it's a country, so Vatican.
- 23:51Speaker 5: Yeah, if you walk into the Vatican, you're like, I'm
- 23:54Speaker 5: in the Vatican.
- 23:56Speaker 3: These dudes, man, you say.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Whatever you want.
- 23:59Speaker 3: I say whatever I want to say.
- 24:00Speaker 1: What the distrect of Columbia, it's its own entity, and
- 24:07Speaker 1: you're saying it's in Virginia.
- 24:08Speaker 8: It's true, it's a true entity, but it might be
- 24:11Speaker 8: encapsulated by Virginia.
- 24:13Speaker 5: A good answer, isn't it Maryland? No, it's neither. Let's
- 24:19Speaker 5: set the record.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I was.
- 24:20Speaker 5: I think I'm the only one that was right on this.
- 24:22Speaker 5: It's an independent district.
- 24:23Speaker 1: It is an independent district. But isn't it on the
- 24:25Speaker 1: side of it We're pissing, We're pissing.
- 24:32Speaker 6: Our boy does cross over the Potomac, but it like
- 24:35Speaker 6: bridges the bank of the Potomac, and there's kind of
- 24:38Speaker 6: some areas that kick into the Potomac. It is more
- 24:41Speaker 6: of a square than a circle, Zach, So I apologize there,
- 24:44Speaker 6: but it is. There is a part of it that
- 24:46Speaker 6: is on the Virginia side that you can.
- 24:48Speaker 2: See right here.
- 24:49Speaker 1: So there is a Virginia side.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I don't believe you were on the Virginia side. So
- 24:54Speaker 2: so most important part to take away from this is
- 24:56Speaker 2: essentially you were right. You were right.
- 24:59Speaker 3: The there's a there's an argument there.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know, for all the Northeastern people like
- 25:05Speaker 1: Ted Casper, he's he's againt, pitched off. No, we're talking
- 25:09Speaker 1: about this. He's winning. He's wincing again right now.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Hopefully Stephen G twenty is on our side. This was
- 25:16Speaker 2: from Spotify. Please get some blue collar guys on here,
- 25:19Speaker 2: but make sure that they're union workers because those guys.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Have no filter.
- 25:25Speaker 1: I think he's right about that, Stephen Geek shout out
- 25:27Speaker 1: Stephen gee.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Uh callback from last week? Ac still down Oh.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Perfect in the upstairs where the kiddos are. Yeah that's great.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Yeah, still hot and muggy upstairs.
- 25:43Speaker 1: It's not good. And he's like, it needed some part
- 25:47Speaker 1: that had to be ordered and delivered, which gets in
- 25:51Speaker 1: I think today, yeah or yesterday maybe, Like hopefully it
- 25:54Speaker 1: gets fixed today.
- 25:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Well we've been without AC upstairs for.
- 25:59Speaker 1: What week now?
- 26:00Speaker 2: Yes, and upstairs is ideal because heat rises, so the
- 26:04Speaker 2: heat's already going up there anyways, and then you just
- 26:07Speaker 2: you let the heat kind of ruminate. That's perfect.
- 26:10Speaker 1: We've been leaving Scott in it.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Oh God, I got a condition. Yeah, she's forged in
- 26:15Speaker 2: fire right now. She starts crying a little baby. Wait
- 26:18Speaker 2: you cry? Oh, you want your binkie? Yeah, just give
- 26:20Speaker 2: her the binkie. We go, no sleepsack, she's upstairs. We
- 26:24Speaker 2: get the fan on her. Wait, you want your lama
- 26:26Speaker 2: because I know you ain't hot.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Yeah, this is how we had to learn.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Rue. She taps out.
- 26:33Speaker 3: She's got to go to the guest room downstairs.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Summer's in Bontaire. You told me they would just have
- 26:37Speaker 2: you go lay out in the driveway. Oh it's hot.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Go see how hot the driveway is.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Mom wouldn't let us put the thermostat under a certain degree.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Like we had to get fans blaring all the time,
- 26:48Speaker 1: small rooms sweating, and.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Get the windows open. Get some air in here, get
- 26:52Speaker 2: some air in here. Yeah, gotta keep the electric build down.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Oh dude, that's all AC still out good? Yeah, stuff everybody.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Good. Rue doesn't want to sleep upstairs. Good, oh God,
- 27:04Speaker 1: struggles struggles at bedtime.
- 27:05Speaker 10: Good.
- 27:06Speaker 2: I will say this about Scotty. I'll brag about Scotty.
- 27:09Speaker 2: She crushed it at the Clumps baby shower. Yeah, I
- 27:13Speaker 2: saw you at the Clumps baby shower.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Yeah, she's a great time. And again like.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Not that Rue's not a warrior. Scotty just is a warrior.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Does that make sense? Yeah, the parents out there with
- 27:25Speaker 1: the four year old Scotty, she's an eighteen month old.
- 27:28Speaker 1: She's a second born. She's got more grit to her,
- 27:31Speaker 1: she's got more fearlessness. Don't give a attitude to her,
- 27:36Speaker 1: Like you'll get done reading her stories. It should be
- 27:38Speaker 1: get done in the bottle and what you kind of
- 27:39Speaker 1: rock her and she's dozing, like I'll be putting her
- 27:41Speaker 1: in the crib, kiss her on the forehead and you
- 27:42Speaker 1: can you can sense the moisture on her forehead as
- 27:46Speaker 1: we're putting her in the crib.
- 27:47Speaker 2: And Scotty isn't talking like quite quite yet, but she
- 27:51Speaker 2: like she's talking. Yeah, she's gathering some words that she
- 27:54Speaker 2: pulled me aside at the baby shower. She told me
- 27:56Speaker 2: a warrior doesn't need a weapon. A warrior is the weapon. Yeah,
- 28:00Speaker 2: she told me.
- 28:01Speaker 6: You know what she told me sharing, which is super
- 28:03Speaker 6: weird that she had that one. She said that Rue
- 28:05Speaker 6: is a farmer in a war and Scotti is a
- 28:07Speaker 6: warrior in a farm.
- 28:08Speaker 3: I don't know where she's getting this, bro.
- 28:10Speaker 2: But Scotty said that she said that to me at
- 28:13Speaker 2: the party.
- 28:13Speaker 3: I was eating a cupcake Saturday night.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Saturday night, I walked upstairs and she's sitting on the couch.
- 28:21Speaker 1: God was looking everywhere in the house for and then
- 28:23Speaker 1: I just go in her room and I just see her.
- 28:24Speaker 1: She's just got the lamp on, sitting in the rocking chair.
- 28:27Speaker 1: She's got the book open, and she just looks up
- 28:28Speaker 1: and says that nobody's coming to save you. She said, yes,
- 28:35Speaker 1: brod close the book, climbing the crow, put the baking
- 28:38Speaker 1: about them one to sleep. She's like, I'll get the lights, all.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Right, just get the lights on your way on that.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Oh man. She well, and also, I don't know if this.
- 28:49Speaker 5: Is uh the.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, look on the other end, she's our princess. Yeah,
- 28:58Speaker 1: she's ru'st I'm obsessed with Rue. We're all obsessed with her.
- 29:02Speaker 3: We love her, we love real.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Rue caught some uh some hand foot mouth hand mouth
- 29:08Speaker 1: foot hand foot mouth, hey, hey.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Hey good good twice in one year.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Yeah, twice we got uh. We had a tip from
- 29:16Speaker 1: the school that it was kind of going around. We
- 29:17Speaker 1: thought Rue was all good, and then all of a sudden,
- 29:19Speaker 1: Sunday comes around. She wasn't feeling wells talks about her
- 29:21Speaker 1: throat hurting, got a couple of those little uh like
- 29:24Speaker 1: red dots in her throat. Yeah, and then she just starts.
- 29:27Speaker 1: It's like tantrum after tantrum. She's hard to reel in.
- 29:30Speaker 1: She's just she's tough, Bro, She's a feeler. She's our
- 29:33Speaker 1: emotional one.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, she's our emotional one. But hand foot mouth
- 29:36Speaker 1: good again, it's like the end of the world when
- 29:40Speaker 1: her feet kind of itch and she's just like, you know,
- 29:43Speaker 1: and we can't really can't help you, Like there's nothing
- 29:46Speaker 1: we can do. We could put the creams on, we
- 29:47Speaker 1: could do this stuff. But Bro, I had to tell
- 29:50Speaker 1: her this morning and when we were we were at
- 29:51Speaker 1: breakfast because we're just not on fumes. But we're just like, Rue,
- 29:55Speaker 1: come on, Bro, you've got to figure this shit out.
- 29:57Speaker 1: I mean, Ruth's been draining us man joining us, like
- 30:01Speaker 1: last night, what's so funny.
- 30:05Speaker 2: I think it's funny. That's God figured the shit out?
- 30:09Speaker 2: Did you not hear, Scottie? No one's coming to save you.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Rue, Like yesterday, obviously we kept her home from school,
- 30:17Speaker 1: babysitter canceled today, she doesn't want to get sick. Good,
- 30:20Speaker 1: that's awesome, that's shark care. Yeah, so mom and I
- 30:23Speaker 1: just got to figure it. And Mom and I we've
- 30:24Speaker 1: been figuring it out. Rue last night, a lot of
- 30:27Speaker 1: trouble going to sleep again. Feed it. She comes up
- 30:30Speaker 1: with any different reason why she doesn't want to go
- 30:33Speaker 1: to bed, And this is typical on a regular day,
- 30:36Speaker 1: whether she wants to read more stories or just she
- 30:38Speaker 1: comes up with something that she has to do before
- 30:42Speaker 1: she gets in bed. So this just gives her a
- 30:45Speaker 1: bunch of ammo to like stay up and not go
- 30:47Speaker 1: to bed. Yeah, she's crying. She wants mom and dad
- 30:50Speaker 1: a lay with me, all the things to where it's
- 30:53Speaker 1: about eight thirty nine o'clock before we finally get downstairs,
- 30:57Speaker 1: and then then she's making her way to where she's
- 31:01Speaker 1: now starting to leave her room. She's figuring out she
- 31:03Speaker 1: can open the door and come outside of her room,
- 31:06Speaker 1: which I know is gonna be eventually. We're gonna have
- 31:09Speaker 1: to nip that in the ass. Yeah, she'll come down
- 31:11Speaker 1: and say I thought Mama was coming back up. And
- 31:13Speaker 1: I'm sitting there on the couch like I don't even
- 31:15Speaker 1: know what the conversations are with you, mom My. Mom
- 31:17Speaker 1: is getting ready for bed right now. I'm sure she's
- 31:19Speaker 1: gonna come up. But she says she was gonna come up.
- 31:21Speaker 1: She turns around and go back, goes back upstairs. I
- 31:23Speaker 1: just hear her start crying, and I'm just like, goly man,
- 31:26Speaker 1: we have got to figure this shit out. Bro. Charle
- 31:30Speaker 1: goes up there, calms her down. We're finally watching We're
- 31:34Speaker 1: watching the show, by the way, Secret Millionaire, great show
- 31:36Speaker 1: on Netflix right now. But we're getting ready for bed.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Heru's like too hot, can't sleep, for the love of God,
- 31:43Speaker 1: Gather all the stuff, Gather the sal machine, gather the
- 31:47Speaker 1: you moved her, gathered all the stuffed animals, the pillow.
- 31:49Speaker 1: We put her down in the guest bedroom on the
- 31:51Speaker 1: first floor. Yeah, sleep in the big bed. Yeah, gotta
- 31:54Speaker 1: essentially do. Mom's gotta do like a whole nother bedtime routine,
- 31:57Speaker 1: laying with her I'm doing it. At first, she wants
- 32:00Speaker 1: like a certain what.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Did I have to go get yet?
- 32:04Speaker 1: Last night? I can't even remember because I just feel
- 32:06Speaker 1: so beaten down by just one after another after another
- 32:11Speaker 1: with her in this. Then Mom's got to lay with
- 32:14Speaker 1: her good. Then we're getting ready for bed. She comes
- 32:18Speaker 1: in the room. We have to go back and kind
- 32:20Speaker 1: of her Mom has to like soothe her to get
- 32:22Speaker 1: back in bed. One in the morning, Bro, we finally
- 32:25Speaker 1: came back. It's like midnight, and then one in the
- 32:29Speaker 1: morning rolls around. I'm like dozing off, kind of in
- 32:33Speaker 1: like that where I'm starting to dream a little bit,
- 32:35Speaker 1: starting to hit maybe a little bit around where that
- 32:37Speaker 1: light sleep. Then all of a sudden, a white flashing
- 32:40Speaker 1: light comes on and I just hear a conversation. Charles
- 32:43Speaker 1: thinks something's like, what's Waffle doing right now? She turns
- 32:45Speaker 1: on the light. I kind of look around. Ruth's right
- 32:47Speaker 1: there at the end of our bed. Ru's in our
- 32:50Speaker 1: room at the end of the bed. I think I'm
- 32:51Speaker 1: in a horror movie. I kind of like, I'm kind
- 32:55Speaker 1: of startled. She's like she's crying because her feet and
- 32:58Speaker 1: this and that, and it's just like for the love.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I just look at my wife and I'm like, hey,
- 33:02Speaker 1: do you mind if I just go sleep with They're like,
- 33:03Speaker 1: I'm just gonna go sleep with her in that bed
- 33:06Speaker 1: and then so we can just get some sleep. Great, good,
- 33:09Speaker 1: let's go. As I'm walking, Hey, you've got to stop crying.
- 33:12Speaker 1: You've got to stop crying. It's it's all you've done
- 33:14Speaker 1: all day long.
- 33:17Speaker 2: And le Scotty's out like a.
- 33:22Speaker 1: She's just stolen her face down, just sleeping. I'm laying
- 33:27Speaker 1: in bed with the room and I'm like, I'm trying
- 33:29Speaker 1: to fall asleep. It's one p one thirty now, and
- 33:31Speaker 1: Rue's just like you know, when you're trying to make
- 33:34Speaker 1: it a point that something's wrong with you and you're
- 33:36Speaker 1: not trying to fall asleep and you're trying to. Ru's
- 33:39Speaker 1: trying to let me know she can't get comfortable, and
- 33:40Speaker 1: she's just like moving her feet, like moving around, and
- 33:44Speaker 1: I just, hey, Rue, stop moving. I haven't slept, Mom
- 33:49Speaker 1: and Dada, we haven't slept yet, Like we haven't got
- 33:51Speaker 1: to just wake up and we have to get up
- 33:53Speaker 1: early and do all the things. I need you to
- 33:56Speaker 1: lay there, stop moving so Dad, I can go to sleep.
- 34:01Speaker 2: How did that did that go?
- 34:02Speaker 1: She calmly just stops talking, freezes, doesn't do nothing. I'm
- 34:06Speaker 1: laying there now. I can't go to sleep because I
- 34:08Speaker 1: feel bad that I said that to her. And I'm like,
- 34:11Speaker 1: I'm laying in bed. I'm like, hey, sweetheart, would you
- 34:15Speaker 1: like to cuddle with dad? Dad? And she's like nods
- 34:19Speaker 1: her head, yes, I roll over and cuddle. We finally
- 34:22Speaker 1: go to sleep, wake up in the morning. Rue pissed
- 34:26Speaker 1: the bed, yahy yeah, yes, yes, man, I'm in it.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I thought I pissed the bed because I pissed it.
- 34:34Speaker 1: I pissed the bed consistently until I was about fourteen
- 34:36Speaker 1: years old. So at this point I don't even know
- 34:38Speaker 1: who what the bed. He's in bed yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 34:41Speaker 1: And then you know, morning time's a whole routine. The
- 34:45Speaker 1: babysitter canceled, so it's just us trying to do all
- 34:47Speaker 1: the things, figure all the things out.
- 34:48Speaker 3: I can tell. My wife is like she's in it.
- 34:51Speaker 3: All'm in whatever. We're all just in it.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Ruth's throat hurt.
- 34:53Speaker 3: She doesn't want to eat anything.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Yeah, everything is too spicy going down or something like that.
- 34:57Speaker 1: She's knowing that her throat's hurting. Yeah, and Oh but hey,
- 35:03Speaker 1: like Scotty said, man, nobody's coming to say.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Nobody's coming to save you. And Happy Mother's Day and happy.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yes yay, And dude, it's you know the parents out there, know,
- 35:16Speaker 1: like when you're in these fucking pockets, bro, it's just
- 35:18Speaker 1: you gotta I mean, you gotta be like Eli Manning
- 35:21Speaker 1: final drive oh seven, you do defenders hanging on your back.
- 35:25Speaker 3: You gotta deliver the football. Sometimes you're gonna have to
- 35:27Speaker 3: catch it.
- 35:27Speaker 2: On your head even when it looks like you are
- 35:30Speaker 2: truly down, like you are down and out, you are tackled,
- 35:33Speaker 2: there's no escape. You gotta Eli Manning stumble your way
- 35:38Speaker 2: out of it, pass first and just chuck it downfield.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Yeah, cause you get so in your own internal rage.
- 35:47Speaker 1: No as a parent. Yeah. And then like as I'm
- 35:50Speaker 1: in my internal rage and I leave, I give the
- 35:52Speaker 1: wife a kiss. Do you do all the things that
- 35:54Speaker 1: I'm thinking, like, all right, Charles in it as well?
- 35:58Speaker 1: How can I like what things am I able to
- 36:00Speaker 1: do to know? Like, look, we're just in the trenches.
- 36:03Speaker 1: We're just gonna have to teamwork this day our way
- 36:05Speaker 1: out of it, trying to get rue and I'm just
- 36:07Speaker 1: trying to tell rue because she always does the hoot
- 36:09Speaker 1: kiss three squeezes and I'm like, hey, you know, don't
- 36:11Speaker 1: kiss that right now and wash your hands and then
- 36:16Speaker 1: don't let the bedbugs bit. Go be great. And I'm like, hey,
- 36:19Speaker 1: go be great today. Yeah, don't go be sad, Go
- 36:22Speaker 1: be great. Because I had to have like a come
- 36:24Speaker 1: to conversation. I'm like, I kind of I threw up
- 36:27Speaker 1: my hands and hit and I'm like, well, we're trying
- 36:28Speaker 1: to get her to eat her oatmeal and she wants
- 36:29Speaker 1: some more bananas and the oatmeal, and she does this
- 36:31Speaker 1: thing where she only she used only wanted to eat
- 36:32Speaker 1: the bananas and doesn't. She skives the bananas, but don't
- 36:35Speaker 1: eat the oatmeal. And she's talking about look at this,
- 36:38Speaker 1: she's going after another good good And I'm like, hey, sweetheart,
- 36:43Speaker 1: like I trust me. We've all been sick, we've all
- 36:46Speaker 1: had rashes, we've all been itchy. It's not going away.
- 36:49Speaker 1: I don't know what you want me to do. Nobody,
- 36:51Speaker 1: nobody's gonna be able to help you right now. The
- 36:53Speaker 1: rest of the day, gear up. You're gonna cry all
- 36:55Speaker 1: day long because this is not going away. Today.
- 36:58Speaker 3: What you're going through is not unique everybody's been through it.
- 37:01Speaker 1: And I'm having like this, like you know, this moment
- 37:05Speaker 1: with her, and I'm like, you're gonna have to figure
- 37:08Speaker 1: it out like that. That's it. Like, I know it sucks.
- 37:11Speaker 1: It's gonna suck all day long, but you can either
- 37:14Speaker 1: like be kinder to people. Like all this whining it
- 37:17Speaker 1: doesn't help anybody. Yeah, Mom's walking around stress, Dad ass stressed. Scottie,
- 37:21Speaker 1: she just she's just hitting herself in the head. Yesterday,
- 37:27Speaker 1: like as we're like relaxing and chilling and we're doing
- 37:29Speaker 1: some scrub, we're doing some TV time, Scotty's just all
- 37:32Speaker 1: over the place. Scotty goes to where she's just hitting Rue.
- 37:35Speaker 1: She's hitting Dad Dad like she's in this hitting phase
- 37:38Speaker 1: where I can't get we can't get her out of
- 37:40Speaker 1: this hitting phase right now. And she thinks it's hilarious.
- 37:42Speaker 1: And listen, parents, we don't laugh and smile while she's hitting.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I know that's like a no no. My wife caught
- 37:48Speaker 1: me a couple of times. She's like, hey, we can't
- 37:49Speaker 1: like that, like eggs are on when you're like smiling.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, I can't help it, Like look at her.
- 37:54Speaker 1: She goes up and she swims, dude, and well, I'll
- 37:57Speaker 1: beg Scottie, stop hitting, and I'm like try not, trying
- 37:59Speaker 1: to look at her, and she just goes over and
- 38:01Speaker 1: was like like knowing that Scotty's gonna swing on her,
- 38:04Speaker 1: and I'll just grab Scotty's arm like a movie like
- 38:07Speaker 1: stopping some villain from swinging on the good guy.
- 38:11Speaker 3: And I'm like grabbing her.
- 38:12Speaker 1: I'm like gripping and I'm like, Scottie, we do not hit,
- 38:15Speaker 1: looking at her just like this, and she's just looking
- 38:17Speaker 1: at me, grinnin and thinks it's funny and then walks
- 38:20Speaker 1: over to me to swing and grab her hand again. Scotty,
- 38:23Speaker 1: we don't hit. We can't hit.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Hey, time out, Compton House, time out? What the fuck
- 38:31Speaker 2: is going on? Yeah? What's going on? Team time out?
- 38:36Speaker 2: Bring it in.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we're gonna need to have one of those, like
- 38:40Speaker 1: for real, like whiteboard and all whistle hanging for my neck.
- 38:45Speaker 11: Bro.
- 38:45Speaker 3: I got with the towel hanging off of her shorts.
- 38:49Speaker 2: I gotta say, I'm Scotty, dude. Her resting face, like
- 38:53Speaker 2: her neutral face, she's got comedic timing, dude, Like I
- 38:58Speaker 2: think she knows that she's funny.
- 39:00Speaker 3: With those with those that she does because one time
- 39:03Speaker 3: I grabbed them.
- 39:03Speaker 2: She just goes her little like smiles that she does too.
- 39:10Speaker 2: When she looks out of the corner of her eye
- 39:12Speaker 2: like she had there's there's stuff going on.
- 39:16Speaker 3: She knows what's going on. Yeah, she crawled over.
- 39:20Speaker 2: I was playing at their house, or Scarlett was playing
- 39:23Speaker 2: with Scotty one day over at their house. We're in
- 39:25Speaker 2: their playroom, and in their playroom, the door is like
- 39:30Speaker 2: just four steps up of this little flight of stairs
- 39:34Speaker 2: and it's just out of reach.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Of Scotty, but like she can, she can get to it.
- 39:40Speaker 2: And Waffle is on the other side of the door,
- 39:42Speaker 2: just going ye, their bulldog. And we don't want Waffle
- 39:47Speaker 2: in the playroom because she was already in the playroom
- 39:49Speaker 2: and Will thought it was a little.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Much, so Will kicks Waffle out.
- 39:53Speaker 2: But Waffle's sitting there scratching, and Scotti is slowly making
- 39:57Speaker 2: her way over to the door, and Will like twice, hey, Scotty, Hey,
- 40:02Speaker 2: come back, what are you doing. And Scotty just the
- 40:05Speaker 2: slowest turn the ball to like evil villain, look at
- 40:08Speaker 2: you and smile crawls up the stairs against the door.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Scotty do not open that door, and she literally like
- 40:15Speaker 2: with her hand like kind of up on the doors,
- 40:18Speaker 2: like turning and looking back at Will.
- 40:20Speaker 3: She's just feeling hilarious. You'll just randomly hear Tiger give
- 40:24Speaker 3: me Tigy back.
- 40:25Speaker 1: And there, you know, rus like breaking down and now
- 40:27Speaker 1: I just like turned my head and you just see
- 40:29Speaker 1: Scotty like sprinting to the house like holding Tigy with
- 40:31Speaker 1: the big smile on her face.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Like god doing, Oh that's incredible. I got I have
- 40:39Speaker 2: some chaos at home. Not my chaos is so quickly
- 40:44Speaker 2: going to hit here the next week. We're moving on
- 40:47Speaker 2: the fourteenth, good good, so stay stay tuned for that.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Movers gonn't do it on the day that we originally
- 40:54Speaker 2: planned and that my parents are flying in for good,
- 40:58Speaker 2: so we moved move in day day early. So I'll
- 41:02Speaker 2: go ask for additional time off from Jeremy because I
- 41:06Speaker 2: told the wrong day to give me PTO on good.
- 41:09Speaker 2: That'll be fun. I am, however, very excited. I'm looking
- 41:14Speaker 2: forward to the movie. I'm actually very stoked on that.
- 41:18Speaker 2: The other thing that's really fun, Scarlett is becoming an
- 41:23Speaker 2: absolute menace within herself.
- 41:25Speaker 3: She is beginning to stand.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Now, she just she just figured out crawling, and she's
- 41:31Speaker 2: kind of like, hey, I want to stip, like skip
- 41:34Speaker 2: this crawling step. I really just kind of want to
- 41:36Speaker 2: walk now. So we got some bruises on our forehead
- 41:39Speaker 2: because we're feeling very confident on standing by herself. I
- 41:44Speaker 2: came to wake her up this way, good, good good.
- 41:46Speaker 2: I came to wake her up this morning, full on,
- 41:48Speaker 2: just standing in her crib with her eyes just barely
- 41:51Speaker 2: over the crib.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Just how adorable is that, dude?
- 41:55Speaker 5: Real? Surem? I got to throw in the pictures of
- 41:58Speaker 5: I told Jill, I said, hey, my girlfriend really wants
- 42:01Speaker 5: me to get a picture with Scarlet. And uh so
- 42:04Speaker 5: Jill like, hands over Scarlet. Maybe the cutest photos ever.
- 42:08Speaker 5: She started grabbing because I had the beard grown out.
- 42:10Speaker 5: She started like grabbing the face and stuff. Just calm
- 42:14Speaker 5: as could be, like she is. Scarlet might be the
- 42:17Speaker 5: most well behaved toddler I've ever seen in my life.
- 42:20Speaker 1: She's a sweetheart. When we were at the baby maybe
- 42:22Speaker 1: you just give her a ball, Oh, just give her
- 42:25Speaker 1: a ball.
- 42:25Speaker 3: She's just beating the ball. She's smiling, having a good time.
- 42:28Speaker 1: She does Scotty, you guys want to do a high five,
- 42:31Speaker 1: and you know, Scotty's like walking over trying to give
- 42:32Speaker 1: her high five, and Scarletes just doesn't know what's going on.
- 42:35Speaker 1: She just keeps beating the ball. Scotty's like reaching and
- 42:38Speaker 1: try and give her a high five. Scotty is like
- 42:42Speaker 1: giving her like five seconds. That's it, like figuring out
- 42:45Speaker 1: with these five seconds or the high five.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Baby.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Yeah, And now I'm trying to.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Tell Scotty like, Scotty, she's just a baby.
- 42:49Speaker 1: And then as I'm saying, and I'm like, I know,
- 42:51Speaker 1: you're a baby too, and you don't even really get
- 42:53Speaker 1: what I'm saying or understand what I'm saying.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Scotty, Scotty, She's just a baby. Scotty just looks at
- 42:58Speaker 2: you and goes.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Don't know, gentle, and she'll get like close to my
- 43:04Speaker 1: head and then tap it a gentle gentle and she'll
- 43:08Speaker 1: reach back.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Ah wait, wait, Scarlett's Scarlett is taking easy.
- 43:14Speaker 5: Honest.
- 43:15Speaker 2: I appreciate you saying that. She is a very sweet,
- 43:19Speaker 2: very sweet girl. She loves new faces. Daycare has really
- 43:23Speaker 2: helped with that. However, I got our first She didn't
- 43:27Speaker 2: get in trouble, in trouble, but I got our first daycare.
- 43:31Speaker 2: APR Report daycare APR report Scarlet has been stealing passes
- 43:37Speaker 2: out of her classmates mouths and then putting the passy
- 43:41Speaker 2: in her own mouth and crawling away from them and
- 43:44Speaker 2: smiles as she does it. She knows what she's doing.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Hell yeah, man, hell yeah.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Great way to get him foot mouthed by, great way
- 43:52Speaker 2: to get sick.
- 43:52Speaker 3: And that's where it happens in the schools.
- 43:55Speaker 2: Good. So then when she's kissing me, I'm like, oh,
- 43:57Speaker 2: so then I'm kissing four others with this one. Yes,
- 44:02Speaker 2: the way that you've been stealing passes. Yeah, edit, don't
- 44:05Speaker 2: edit around that, or do edit around that, you know
- 44:09Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 44:10Speaker 3: If they clip.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Sherman kiss infants four? Were you gonna say something?
- 44:20Speaker 1: But I do like that.
- 44:20Speaker 2: She's in a teeth touching phase.
- 44:22Speaker 6: She cat had her for a second and Scarlett kept
- 44:25Speaker 6: poking teeth.
- 44:26Speaker 2: So she's just it's a mouth phase. Maybe with the
- 44:28Speaker 2: passy it is a it's.
- 44:30Speaker 1: A big mouthface just learning to touch and do all
- 44:33Speaker 1: this stuff. Like Sky loves booping like that's right, worre
- 44:35Speaker 1: scarlets heady like they're just fascinated with like just touching everything.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 44:39Speaker 2: And she's big on the Jill calls it the pincer,
- 44:43Speaker 2: figuring out the pincer motion of like precisely picking things up.
- 44:47Speaker 2: And so she's big on people's faces. She loves doing
- 44:51Speaker 2: the pincer on your nose or on your chin and
- 44:54Speaker 2: grabbing some hair right there.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Yep, she's loving that. Developing with the food food, picking
- 44:59Speaker 3: up your food.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Bro.
- 45:00Speaker 2: She destroyed some turkey and these little frozen little dat
- 45:04Speaker 2: hack for you. They have these star shaped frozen pizza
- 45:10Speaker 2: little dinner bites and you microwave it for like twenty seconds.
- 45:14Speaker 3: She went to town on.
- 45:15Speaker 2: That, grabbing the little cuts of turkey and the little
- 45:19Speaker 2: cuts of the pizza bites.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Yeah, she's eating eating, that's good.
- 45:23Speaker 2: I'm just sitting there watching her. I wasn't even having
- 45:25Speaker 2: to do a thing.
- 45:29Speaker 1: I'm telling you, man, dinner time. That's a That is
- 45:33Speaker 1: a crack of cold one of mine, My krack of
- 45:36Speaker 1: cold one this week brought to us by always the
- 45:38Speaker 1: greatest of all time, Ollipop. My crack a cold one
- 45:42Speaker 1: is the peaceful sound of nothing ooh, while you're at
- 45:49Speaker 1: the dinner table and just hearing eating take place. That
- 45:53Speaker 1: might sound disgusting to some people out there. Yeah, but Charo,
- 45:58Speaker 1: she made spaghetti the other night. Kids love pasta spaghetti.
- 46:03Speaker 1: The sausage that's in there, were slicing it all up,
- 46:06Speaker 1: and the kids we sat down and they're just eating
- 46:08Speaker 1: away and it was just one of the best moments
- 46:13Speaker 1: in recent memory. Just look over my wife and I'm like, hey,
- 46:16Speaker 1: how about this. She's like, yes, nobody's arguing. Scotty's not
- 46:20Speaker 1: screaming for berries, Rue's not asking questions, delaying, negotiating her
- 46:25Speaker 1: way out of eating dinner. And it was h that's
- 46:28Speaker 1: my cracker cole one, the beeatful sound of nothing at
- 46:31Speaker 1: dinner time.
- 46:31Speaker 2: I'll take another sip of this BlackBerry vanilla, which is
- 46:35Speaker 2: honestly very good in raspberry Sherbert, Oh, come on, in
- 46:39Speaker 2: accordance with your cracker cold one. I'm very lucky because
- 46:44Speaker 2: my brother was four years older than me in school wise,
- 46:48Speaker 2: he was four years older as well, so I got
- 46:51Speaker 2: really good at monkey see Monkey do of like learning
- 46:56Speaker 2: from someone four years ahead. You are also basically you're
- 46:59Speaker 2: the exact same age as my brother. I think he's
- 47:01Speaker 2: a month older than you, but you're four years ahead
- 47:04Speaker 2: also with your kids. And I love being able to
- 47:10Speaker 2: sit there and listen to you tell stories. Because in
- 47:15Speaker 2: the back of my mind, dinner time is a battlefield.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Like I know that dinner time is a battlefield. So
- 47:22Speaker 2: everything that we're doing right now with Scarlet is in
- 47:26Speaker 2: preparation of those Yeah, I'm not eating this.
- 47:29Speaker 3: I want a cookie exactly.
- 47:31Speaker 1: Man like it because it's like throwing us back, like
- 47:34Speaker 1: when we have whether it's a curry or something that
- 47:38Speaker 1: has a little bit of spice in it, because Rue
- 47:40Speaker 1: hates spicy food now and it blows her mind because
- 47:43Speaker 1: back when Ru was younger, she enjoyed anything you kind
- 47:46Speaker 1: of put in front of her. Yeah, and she would
- 47:48Speaker 1: just go to town on all this stuff to where
- 47:49Speaker 1: we're trying to tell Rue, like, dude, you love tomatoes.
- 47:53Speaker 1: You used to love tomatoes, like all of a sudden,
- 47:55Speaker 1: now you just don't like tomatoes, or all of a
- 47:58Speaker 1: sudden you don't like curry, or just it's a little
- 48:00Speaker 1: bit of spice. We have a Mexican Monday and we're
- 48:02Speaker 1: having tacos. Yeah, and it's too spicy or this, or
- 48:06Speaker 1: like you know, if like a small hint of a
- 48:09Speaker 1: green onion, anything green on something, it has to be
- 48:12Speaker 1: like picked off.
- 48:13Speaker 3: They're like, bro, what are we doing? That's what I'm
- 48:16Speaker 3: saying I'm bring the team up.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Yes, hey, bring the team up. Cal tea cal tea
- 48:23Speaker 2: I But truly I look ahead to those situations. I'm like,
- 48:27Speaker 2: I need to I need to stay locked in and
- 48:31Speaker 2: keep the healthy habits going and keep the environment going
- 48:35Speaker 2: so that when it gets to those times of my
- 48:38Speaker 2: krackical one being a quiet meal where everybody's enjoying their food,
- 48:44Speaker 2: that I can be locked in and ready to go
- 48:46Speaker 2: for those like the battle of dinner time. Because we
- 48:49Speaker 2: read comments too from other people. This isn't just your plight,
- 48:53Speaker 2: like kids just don't want to eat. Some dad wins
- 48:57Speaker 2: will be like my kid ate a slice of pizza, Yeah,
- 49:00Speaker 2: and celebrate he buddy, we get it.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Just then you learn like then there's like lapses as
- 49:06Speaker 1: parents were you look at, okay, how much they eat
- 49:09Speaker 1: throughout the day, and then you realize they might be
- 49:11Speaker 1: snacking too much to where they don't eat their meals.
- 49:14Speaker 1: So then you got to tighten up snack windows or
- 49:16Speaker 1: just say hey, snack is for just this time and
- 49:18Speaker 1: this time only, or it's an hour, thirty minutes, twenty
- 49:20Speaker 1: minutes before dinner time, we're not eating, We're not eating
- 49:22Speaker 1: anything else because you got to eat your dinner. Yeah,
- 49:25Speaker 1: to where then you gotta throw a consequence in thereof like, okay,
- 49:29Speaker 1: look you, I'll just tell Ruthe straight up, sweetheart, you
- 49:32Speaker 1: don't have to eat your dinner. But everything else you're
- 49:34Speaker 1: talking about you're too tired or she's just doing things
- 49:37Speaker 1: to delay eating food. Yeah, it's like, hey, sweetheart, look,
- 49:42Speaker 1: you don't have to eat dinner. You don't have to
- 49:43Speaker 1: eat any dinner at all. Just know that there's no
- 49:45Speaker 1: snacks after. Just know that there's no cookie on the
- 49:47Speaker 1: other side. Whatever it is.
- 49:49Speaker 3: That's like her TV.
- 49:50Speaker 1: Yeah, no TV. If she's alluded to TV before dinner time,
- 49:53Speaker 1: there's gonna be no TV. If she's alluding to being tired, Hey, look,
- 49:56Speaker 1: we don't have to eat dinner. We can go upstairs
- 49:58Speaker 1: right now and get you ready for bed. Yeah, we're
- 50:00Speaker 1: not forcing you to eat dinner. We just know that
- 50:02Speaker 1: this is You're gonna be cranky, you're gonna be tired,
- 50:04Speaker 1: you're gonna be hungry eventually, and then when you are hungry,
- 50:07Speaker 1: we're not gonna be able to help you because we
- 50:08Speaker 1: have to stand firm and knowing that you know, if
- 50:11Speaker 1: you're gonna eat, you gotta eat in this window to
- 50:13Speaker 1: get them in that routine. So you'll be you'll be
- 50:16Speaker 1: you'll be seeing these things like as they as they
- 50:19Speaker 1: come about. Whenever she doesn't start eating dinner. Then it's
- 50:22Speaker 1: almost like you have to audit yourself of like, Okay,
- 50:24Speaker 1: how many snacks have they had throughout the afternoon or
- 50:27Speaker 1: leading up to dinner to where I'm giving them too
- 50:29Speaker 1: much leeway to argue with me at dinner time because
- 50:31Speaker 1: I know I give them as many pouches or as
- 50:34Speaker 1: many little snacks or what are they called, what are
- 50:39Speaker 1: they called not not cereal pieces? Dad brain? Right now,
- 50:45Speaker 1: dad brain puffs, puff puffs, puffs, little breakfast puffs. Yeah,
- 50:49Speaker 1: whatever you whatever, parents feed snack wise. Yeah, it's like
- 50:52Speaker 1: then you audit your you're auditing yourself to be like,
- 50:54Speaker 1: all right, we gotta show down, we gotta shut down
- 50:57Speaker 1: the window leading up to this, even if they're pissed
- 50:59Speaker 1: off about not one to wait for dinner or they
- 51:01Speaker 1: want the banana now or whatever it is. Yeah, they'll
- 51:05Speaker 1: tighten up your ship.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Little spoon puffs, dude, or such a dad hack by
- 51:09Speaker 2: the way, for any dad's out there, Oh my god,
- 51:12Speaker 2: and the little cereal puffs too, that little spoon makes
- 51:15Speaker 2: shout out, no free shout out.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Also final final dad hack on dinner time.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Something that I remembered from my childhood that Jill and
- 51:23Speaker 2: I have started doing a little bit is my mom
- 51:26Speaker 2: would always have a rotation of CDs that she would
- 51:31Speaker 2: play when she was cooking and the music would keep on.
- 51:34Speaker 2: She would turn it down softly when we would then
- 51:37Speaker 2: sit down to eat, and it was like.
- 51:39Speaker 3: Dixie Chicks nor Jeon like that. Oh yeah, dude, have
- 51:44Speaker 3: the mood.
- 51:46Speaker 2: Yes, And we've started doing some soft jazz real like
- 51:51Speaker 2: you know Alexa volume three. And sorry for any listeners
- 51:54Speaker 2: if I just activated your life like with the.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Dog digging the bell and their mouth starts salivating because
- 51:59Speaker 1: they know it's dinner time. Yeah, and them in the
- 52:01Speaker 1: if you've been getting this condition their brains. Yes, dude,
- 52:06Speaker 1: it's something more as something more important on your phone
- 52:09Speaker 1: right now? Will Okay, it's.
- 52:14Speaker 2: She gave me.
- 52:14Speaker 8: She gave me the exact time she wanted her massage.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Okay, let's go, let's go.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Oh, I got to hit him with the coaches.
- 52:23Speaker 2: And it's about to say, as soon as I saw
- 52:27Speaker 2: Sack on the phone, I can get that hack back
- 52:29Speaker 2: to us. Yeah, it's bad hack repeat it back.
- 52:32Speaker 1: I'm trying to hit them with a callback, conditioning our brains.
- 52:35Speaker 1: I look over, I just see the bright screen going
- 52:36Speaker 1: on Tuesday, some more important on your phone on this buddy,
- 52:39Speaker 1: you don't have to do the smile on will space.
- 52:43Speaker 2: I was like, no, it's like your mean teacher in
- 52:47Speaker 2: high school and got to somebody chewing gum. You're just like, oh,
- 52:50Speaker 2: here we fucking go. My my crack a cold one.
- 52:57Speaker 2: I did the last spring class of for the golf
- 53:00Speaker 2: coaching which I'm going to sign up for the summer
- 53:05Speaker 2: classes that are coming up here like in June. But
- 53:09Speaker 2: I was part.
- 53:10Speaker 3: I was put into the twelve year old group.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Dude. For any parents at home that have these preteens,
- 53:17Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's just a whole other ballgame, dude.
- 53:21Speaker 2: Like we're sitting here talking about Baba's and Banky's and
- 53:25Speaker 2: nap times and hamfoot mouth. We got kid saying some
- 53:30Speaker 2: the wildest shit of all time, where I'm like, Yo,
- 53:34Speaker 2: this is the Internet age. Like these twelve year olds
- 53:37Speaker 2: are built different. They know everything that's going.
- 53:41Speaker 3: On in the world. Oh yeah, okay, Steve.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Was doing six seven, Zach was doing six to seven.
- 53:48Speaker 6: Zach.
- 53:49Speaker 2: I got frame mocked by a twelve year old at
- 53:52Speaker 2: this first tea.
- 53:53Speaker 3: It was bad, dude.
- 53:55Speaker 2: He had a junior set of clubs, and the junior
- 53:59Speaker 2: set sometimes will like two clubs on one club, so
- 54:03Speaker 2: it's like an in betweener. So I'll say two three iron,
- 54:06Speaker 2: four five iron, five six iron, six seven iron.
- 54:11Speaker 3: Okay, this kid, I'll make up a name for him.
- 54:15Speaker 2: Brad was like Coach Sherman, Coach Sherman, should I hit
- 54:19Speaker 2: my hybrid or my six seven iron? And I looked
- 54:23Speaker 2: at Brad and I go, Brad, I think there's only
- 54:25Speaker 2: one answer, dude. Go And he looks at me so
- 54:31Speaker 2: disgusted and goes Coach Sherman. That's so immature, dude, and
- 54:37Speaker 2: grabs the six seven iron out of his back. Does
- 54:39Speaker 2: not lap at all at my six seven joke. I
- 54:43Speaker 2: then overhear him with another kid, like thirty yards away,
- 54:47Speaker 2: and this is like way later in the day, and
- 54:49Speaker 2: he goes Coach Sherman, did the six seven mean to me?
- 54:53Speaker 2: I told him that memes been dead for like months now.
- 54:56Speaker 5: Oh they're brutal, shrem They're brutal, dude. I was telling you.
- 55:04Speaker 3: About You're like the boomer phase.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, I'm unk. Now I'm officially hunk.
- 55:11Speaker 3: You did this and he goes, oh god, he doesn't
- 55:13Speaker 3: get it.
- 55:14Speaker 2: No, he was like truly disgusted by It was like
- 55:16Speaker 2: Coach Sherman's a really nice guy, like he needs to
- 55:19Speaker 2: know that that behavior is like that's not good, Like
- 55:24Speaker 2: what you just did is truly disgusting.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Will These twelve year olds are different.
- 55:31Speaker 5: They're mean, dude. I did after school program and there
- 55:34Speaker 5: was a very nice girl I'll call her like Isabelle.
- 55:37Speaker 5: One day it was like, hey, why do you have
- 55:39Speaker 5: a gap in the middle of your teeth? This is
- 55:42Speaker 5: like a fourth grader. I was like, I don't know,
- 55:45Speaker 5: Isabelle why. She was like it was the right for
- 55:47Speaker 5: Halloween and she was like Belle or like some proud
- 55:49Speaker 5: I was like, why are you that princess and not
- 55:51Speaker 5: like the cool one? And set off like in a
- 55:53Speaker 5: big motion. She started like tear it up.
- 56:00Speaker 2: It hurts.
- 56:00Speaker 5: They're like, why do you.
- 56:02Speaker 1: Why are you four to seven?
- 56:06Speaker 2: Well, I'd probably gonna grow to be like six five,
- 56:09Speaker 2: so it'll could be taller than you. And then you
- 56:11Speaker 2: can't really say anything on that because it's you have
- 56:13Speaker 2: to be proven so you're like, fat.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Chance, But dude, they are hilarious.
- 56:19Speaker 2: They're all sitting around. I'm trying to get.
- 56:21Speaker 1: This all though, like yeah, yeah he mogged you, big
- 56:23Speaker 1: boyd right there. It feels like he's putting you on game.
- 56:26Speaker 1: He put me on game. He put me on game.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Because they were all doing the scuba like the Scuba's
- 56:31Speaker 2: like the new things was scuba ward.
- 56:36Speaker 3: Well there's the camp ward, but then.
- 56:37Speaker 2: There's scuba Yeah that's what and they go side to
- 56:42Speaker 2: side with it, and then there's this other one where
- 56:44Speaker 2: they're like doing this, bro, I don't even know. I
- 56:49Speaker 2: stayed in my lane after the failed six to seven
- 56:52Speaker 2: attempt because then they're they're talking about Minecraft and then
- 56:55Speaker 2: this other new video game and coach Sherman, do you
- 56:58Speaker 2: play video games? I'm like, I have a because I'm
- 57:03Speaker 2: trying to keep a PG with them. I don't want
- 57:05Speaker 2: to be like, yeah, I'm doing PUBG and Call of Duty.
- 57:07Speaker 2: So I was like, oh, I do Mario Kart World
- 57:10Speaker 2: with my wife on uh on switch to and they're like,
- 57:16Speaker 2: oh Mario, yeah, Mario Kart World's yeah, that's cool. I'll
- 57:22Speaker 2: get over with each other and probably start making fun
- 57:24Speaker 2: of me for playing Mario Kart World and you're.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Just in your head the rest of the round, driving home,
- 57:28Speaker 1: looking at yourself in the mirror, no music on, just
- 57:30Speaker 1: the sound of the road.
- 57:33Speaker 2: This one, the only kid that's like being nice to me,
- 57:35Speaker 2: is like the one kid that's not talking about all
- 57:37Speaker 2: the memes and he's just talking about animal facts, being
- 57:41Speaker 2: so sweet about it. But he's my only friend. He's like,
- 57:45Speaker 2: you know, the North American Robin actually eats this because
- 57:47Speaker 2: blah blah blah. Do you know that octopus has eight stomachs.
- 57:50Speaker 2: I'm just in there. I'm like, yeah, dude, I think
- 57:52Speaker 2: you need your wedge and not a putter. I don't
- 57:54Speaker 2: know if you're on the green or not. He's like,
- 57:56Speaker 2: oh yeah, yeah, getting his clubs. I'm just trying to
- 57:58Speaker 2: keep them golfing.
- 58:00Speaker 3: Yeah, trying to keep them golf the while trying to
- 58:02Speaker 3: be cool. While trying to be cool.
- 58:04Speaker 2: I tried to jump in on another conversation they were
- 58:06Speaker 2: talking about.
- 58:07Speaker 1: It's the button.
- 58:08Speaker 2: You just start going, yeah you hit that, bro Co
- 58:15Speaker 2: Surman up.
- 58:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 58:18Speaker 2: So I'm gonna stay in my lane with the twelve
- 58:21Speaker 2: year olds next time. I'm learning is the good that's
- 58:24Speaker 2: a good part.
- 58:25Speaker 5: We talked about you like the all the like the
- 58:27Speaker 5: clav and a lot of the modern means on Twitter.
- 58:30Speaker 5: Me and Matt taught you then, have you not Have
- 58:32Speaker 5: you not used any of that game?
- 58:34Speaker 2: I did, okay for like the sake of the pod,
- 58:38Speaker 2: Like I did have my unk moment, but there were
- 58:41Speaker 2: some lanes where I.
- 58:42Speaker 5: Like Cortisol Spike mentioned stuff like that, you'll probably get
- 58:46Speaker 5: a couple kids be like.
- 58:48Speaker 2: Oh, Mogging. Mogging and Aura were like talked about a lot.
- 58:53Speaker 2: They were talking about thankfully, Jared plays Minecraft here.
- 59:00Speaker 3: And like talks about Minecraft a lot.
- 59:02Speaker 2: And I'd seen the Minecraft movie and I hit them
- 59:04Speaker 2: with the Chicken Jockey because they were talking about the
- 59:06Speaker 2: Minecraft movie and that got a laugh ye, And then
- 59:09Speaker 2: they all started making up stories of like different stuff
- 59:12Speaker 2: that happened in the theater with the chicken jockey, and
- 59:14Speaker 2: like all of them were like obviously not true and
- 59:18Speaker 2: it was hilarious.
- 59:20Speaker 1: Next time, you just pull out like a little face
- 59:21Speaker 1: hammer face Maxing or it looks Maxing.
- 59:27Speaker 2: Just sitting off to the side of the Green co Truman,
- 59:29Speaker 2: what are you doing? Uh looks Maxing Douglas.
- 59:32Speaker 3: But you guys don't have one of you guys, Eve
- 59:33Speaker 3: one you forget it at home.
- 59:36Speaker 1: That's what you kids do now.
- 59:38Speaker 2: And guys, a great tip is actually you use your
- 59:40Speaker 2: putter for this too. Butters are great for this. But
- 59:44Speaker 2: that was my crack, A cool one. I did have
- 59:46Speaker 2: a lot of fun with those twelve year olds. Another
- 59:50Speaker 2: great quote that we can cut around, Uh dad as.
- 59:58Speaker 1: You have any dad acts, I am not. I got
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: a dad win. I have a dad win on the weekend.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: My dad win on the weekend is uh getting the
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: kids up on Sunday morning before mom woke up. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: give mom a little extra sleep, get the kids up
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: and rolling. I gave rue a mission on Sunday morning
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: because the minute I came in the bedroom morning time,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: where's mama? Oh no, big pan, Dad's up in your room. Mama.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: I'm like, hey, sweetheart, we're letting mama sleep. Like she's
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: still sleeping right now, but I have a mission for us.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: And she got her eyes get big, and I'm like,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: we're gonna let mama sleep. We're gonna sneak out of
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: the house. We're gonna go get coffee. We're gonna get
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: mama's favorite latte, one of mama's favorite lattes and we're
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: gonna bring it back home because Mama said she was
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: gonna do pancakes Sunday in the morning. She's oh yeah,
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: and I'm like, but we gotta be quiet getting out
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: of the house. Ru is ready. You give her a mission,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: She's ready to rock.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: We gotta we got them dressed good with the missions
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: because you give for those. And she locks in.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Yeah, she dials in to the point where you know,
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: scott Zilla is being Scott' Zilla and might be a
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: little loud, Like if we get downstairs.
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: And we's like, Scottie, we gotta be quiet.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: We got to sneak out of the house. Mom's already
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: like up in the back of the closet. I'm like, hey,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: I'm trying to keep the kids away. You're gonna go
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: out and your coffee, resist my pancakes. You can get pancakes,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: rock and we'll come home.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Keep them out for about twenty minutes.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Came back.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: Had a great pancakes Sunday morning.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: But Dad win getting up before mom, getting the kids
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: out of the house low the mom to kind of
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: do her thing in the morning.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: God, I love that I have a dad loss here.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: It's here.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: Daniel Saboleuski Daniel Sableuski emailed us what's up boys, longtime
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: petsico here and wanted to share a recent dad loss.
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: Just this past week, I picked.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: My almost two year old daughter from the babysitter after
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: work and was on a normal drive home. She has
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: recently been a whiner in the car, so when it
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: was a quiet ride home, I didn't want to question it,
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: nor did I want to turn around and make eye
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: contact or remind her she was quiet and not whining.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Big mistake. Ten minutes into thirty into my thirty minute
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: drive home, I hear her lips smacking. I turn around
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: wondering what she was doing, and I found out that
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: there was a piece of chocolate left in the cup
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: holder in the car seat. Good. My sweet little angel
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: decided not only to eat the chocolate, but it was
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: slightly melted, so it went everywhere. Good good chocolate smeared
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: all over her face and hair, Good in every crevice
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: of the car seat and clothes too. Good. Worst part
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: was I couldn't even be mad because when I turned
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: and saw what had happened, she just gave me the
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: messiest cue to smile. And when I got home, I
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: locked in, took her right into bat time, and aggressively
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: scrubbed chocolate out of every nook and cranny. Best part
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: is my wife, the chocolate culprit. But he's not gonna
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: blame it on the wife.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: No, I can't do that.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: Not on a Mother's Day episode, thought this was the
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: best thing since slice bread. Just bruce to the show,
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: as all my fellow Peatsticker sixers know. Too much silence
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: can sometimes be a bad thing. Thanks boys for all
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: you do and bringing all us petsikos together. Dan from
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Jersey Hole, my god, Oh my god, bro, that is everywhere. Yeah,
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: that will throw the image up. I mean that is
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: she looks like William Wallace.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you get home. That's which that's Operation Chocolate.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: Yeah, get home.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: I feel him though on the tantrums, like against Scotty.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: You can't be in a car with her over ten
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: to fifteen minutes before she starts losing her mind. There's
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: gotta be something out there, like a net or something
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: that catches them throwing, like you know, Scotty will throw
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: her lama or her or binkie like on the ground. Yeah,
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: and so here for example, when we're going to the
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: baby shower at Clumps over the weekend, it was just
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: me and Scotti. We're going to divide and conquer. Rue
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: and Mom went to ballet. Me and Scotty were going
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: out to the baby shower. We were going to rendezvous
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: back at home so that way then we can all
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: go to this festival that Rue had going on with
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: her classmates. But on the way to the baby shower,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: it's just me and Scotti. It was probably a thirty
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: five minute drive forty minute drive to get to Clumps
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: from where I was at, and I had to pull
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: over three different times, one time being on the side
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: of the highway. I was under a bridge on the
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: side of the highway because Scotty is screaming bloody murder
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: because she wants Lama. And by the time I pull
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: over and get all this stuff, she's still like in
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: a bad mood because again is a car right over
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: fifteen minutes. Yeah, and it is.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: You're in hell, card, dude.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: She hates it. That's her body, bro.
- 1:04:34Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: She loves to move, She loves to be free.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: She loves to be Zilla, even if she had stuff
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: on the window or stuff to look at like she
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: they most parents I'm saying, would be like, oh, does
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: well have cutesy little stuff and that think scott Zilla
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: wants to zilla.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Maybe I do need to give her stuff to mess with.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: That's over because we're just we're no gear, you know
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: what I mean, We're all we're no gear. She's got
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: you know, if you need a snack, you give it
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: back to her. But what she's done with the snack whatever,
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: she'll throw that to the side. It's when she loses lama.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: Oh okay, I didn't know that. She didn't, So you're
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: she's has no gear back there, right.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: No gear. She's just got the little mirror in front
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: of her to where she can look at that in
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: the passenger seat.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: Oh okay, so that's yeah, yeah, that.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: That that could be a bad learn right there, could
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: dad hack.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: But it's like she'll throw the lama her webbing up
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: and it'll be stuck at the bottom, like in between
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: the door and the seat, so I can't reach it.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: There's nowhere where I can reach back and grab it
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: and give it back to her. It's always in the
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: hardest places in front of her car seat, down into
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: the seat on the side, like I just said, in
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: between the door and the seat. The bet she'll lose
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: it like under her arm or under her back, and
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: she just can't you know, she can't reach it. How
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: does it get under their butt?
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: That's like an actual thing that I'm like, I pick
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: Scarlet up out of the seat and all the stuff that's.
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: Under her butt, I'm like, how's it getting underneath you?
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: I had to drive off on a side road, park
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: it in a driveway you get out under or on
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: the highway underneath the bridge. Had to get out, pulled
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: one where I was by a gas station, thank god,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: pulled in the gas station.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: McDonald's. Ended up getting these breakfasts.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: Hey, come on, man, Hey, Jill got this little fidget
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: book for Scarlet. One of my favorite parts of your
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: baby being in a car seat is you can only
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: see the top of their head when you like turn
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: around and look back at him if you don't have
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: a mirror. And Jill has this whole fidget book for
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Scarlet that she just bought and she's very proud of it.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: And we're driving to dinner two nights ago, and we
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: hear the book drop and Jill goes, oh, she.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: Dropped her fidget book. She loves her fidget book. We
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: get her fidget book.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: I go, yeah, and I pick up the fidget book.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: I can't see Scarlet's face, so I'm just reaching over
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: here and I place it there and I here oh,
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, she does love her fidget book.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Fidget book. Then all of a sudden truly goes boom
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: and flies. I've grown up the car. Jill was like,
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: what was that? I just go, I don't think she
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: wants her.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: That's with the pigeon. But you'll be unbuckled, like you
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: all be driving up fully unbuckling. I'm like climbing in
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: the back, like reaching over down into the bottom where
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: the door and everything is looking as gotty.
- 1:07:10Speaker 10: You have to hold this, yeah, quick throwing it if
- 1:07:14Speaker 10: they don't want something you want, you like you like
- 1:07:16Speaker 10: take a peek back and you just kind of see
- 1:07:17Speaker 10: their car set and you just see their little arm
- 1:07:19Speaker 10: like throw something on the side.
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: Bro.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: It's so funny, dude, not being able to see their
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: face but see their arms just like throwing something. Unreal.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: Do do we want to dive in?
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: I know we're like over an hour, got to keep
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: it under it, and we have to keep it under
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: an hour. So do we want to dive into. We
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: could do emails and call ins here.
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: And then we have a segment of Mother's Day shout
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: outs and Mother's Day shout outs and Deeke, you tell me,
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: do we want to save Mothers Day shout outs for
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: when we're on the bus listening to our moms talking, move,
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: be smooth, do that.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: We'll do that.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: So we'll just do emails and call ins here and
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: then we're gonna move it over to the bus because surprise, surprise,
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: we got some moms coming on the show.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Yes, we we we you Okay, cool? Uh, let's dive
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: into some call ins and against six on one the Dads.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: You want to call in, leave a voicemail and literally
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: say whatever you want vent to the boys talk about
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: Winn's losses. So happy Mother's it doesn't matter whatever your
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: little heart desire. Six and one the Dads is the
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: number you call.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: Hey, while we're pulling this up, we've yet to interview
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: our interns.
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: Do we want to do that on the bus? I
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: say on the bus? Okay, say on the bus.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: We do have a lot of cameras on the bus
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: and a lot of mics, so that works perfect. That's great.
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: I'm just thinking.
- 1:08:40Speaker 6: It went from me telling them they could be on
- 1:08:42Speaker 6: like we'll bother you for ten minutes tomorrow to now
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: they're on the four episode, which I love, which we love.
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: I feel like they love and if they don't love it,
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: they do love it.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: So I'm excited.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: A couple of goombrets st sixers. Hey, it's just gonna
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: be like five minutes, man, I would these guys are professionals.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: They keep bick the shout out at the top.
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: The idea was they were going to shout out at
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: the top and then they were gonna go they.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: Were gonna go do intern things.
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: But also, I don't again, if I don't really care
- 1:09:13Speaker 6: what they say, they love being here, they love it that.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: That's on me. That's on me. No, Like I'm thinking,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: get them shout outs, but in my brain, I'm thinking
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: they're hanging out for the whole episode.
- 1:09:28Speaker 6: The goal was to make them fall in love with
- 1:09:29Speaker 6: the show so much that they would hang out for
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: the full episode. But it was supposed to start with
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: intros because we know their names and we know they
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: kind of know DC, and that's it.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: This is all this is Nick how it's fault because
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: Nick Alletts said, oh Shurm did the intro. Will was
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: then like, oh Shurm do the intro, and then sharm
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: forgot to ask the interns about their moms.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: Are the voicemails pulled up?
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: They're pulled out and let's do it. This was Texas
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: wipey shout.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: Well then you led you just calling in to shout
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: out the wife.
- 1:10:02Speaker 13: Catherine Gabriel from Fort Hood, Texas. I just wanted to
- 1:10:07Speaker 13: give the wife he a shout out for sticking by
- 1:10:10Speaker 13: my side through all the military bs and taking care
- 1:10:15Speaker 13: of our beautiful seven seven month old daughter, Tatum was
- 1:10:19Speaker 13: just thriving and growing at a rate that I cannot
- 1:10:22Speaker 13: even comprehend. Love with listening to the podcast, you guys
- 1:10:26Speaker 13: make my week great, trying to catch up me and
- 1:10:30Speaker 13: the wife. He listening every night usually y'all take it easy.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: If that's a transcript, great shout out. But as far
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: as enthusiasm, it sounds like my guy's in it right now.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: Oh he's at well, he's at for it. He's stationed
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: at Fort Hoods. Yeah, in military wise and in it
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: obviously as a dad as well.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Yeah, because when he threw the military bs. But he's
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: just he's got a lot on his plate right now.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: He does, but he's taking the time to call it
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: dad Pod, no doubt. I love that, which I love. Yeah,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: but I agree the man he's dealing with a lot.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: You can hear it. You can hear it, you can
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: hear it in his voice. Yeah, but shout up Mom,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: Shout out Tatum.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: Shout out mom. Happy Mother's Day.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Yes, Happy Mother's Day.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: We also a big shout out to him as well.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: We said, if you had a Mother's Day, call in
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: to make sure to start your voicemail with Mother's Day.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: He did a great job, did a great job. We'll
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: see if this next one does as well.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: Mother's Day.

- 1:12:07Speaker 15: an answered prayer.
- 1:12:09Speaker 16: May Walter and I we love you so much and
- 1:12:14Speaker 16: we're so thankful for all that you do for us.
- 1:12:18Speaker 16: Happy Mother's Day baby, and PS, hopefully this will get
- 1:12:23Speaker 16: me a season pass on the shock waves.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: And now.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: What a great voicemail you want?
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: How to leave a voicemail on for the dad spot
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: and you want to earn a seasonal pass?
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: A season pass?
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Sitting right next to your wife as you watch this
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: on YouTube right now on your TV.
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: Trades grinning right now. Oh yeah, Trade just wrote the
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: bug that was incredibly well done.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: And Tracey's thinking, how do we get past the gratitude
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: that you're about to give for that wonderful shout out?
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: What is the answer for the season pass? Where we at?
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: How good of a job did I do? I also
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: have a Mother's Day hack and I have a video
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: of Dalton Shields loaded up here.
- 1:13:25Speaker 6: The Dalton Shields video is from the crack of cold
- 1:13:27Speaker 6: one in your notes so we can side or whatever
- 1:13:30Speaker 6: you want.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: The hack is a voicemail hack is a voicemail don
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: don don't dum And for some reasons, I'll play.
- 1:13:42Speaker 11: By I'm calling him with a little dad hack from
- 1:13:46Speaker 11: Mother's Day. We're gonna be real quick with it, all right, First,
- 1:13:50Speaker 11: off for Mother's Day. If you haven't gotten the MT
- 1:13:53Speaker 11: six gear, you're wrong, You're fucking wrong. I've got already
- 1:13:57Speaker 11: got two shirts coming In're going to be here on
- 1:14:00Speaker 11: Friday before Mother's Day. I'll be back from out of town.

- 1:14:04Speaker 5: I got that.
- 1:14:06Speaker 11: Now it's Mother's Day morning. Make sure you follow these
- 1:14:09Speaker 11: steps and you're gonna have a fantastic Mother's Day. Everything's
- 1:14:12Speaker 11: gonna go right. First off, make sure all the laundry
- 1:14:15Speaker 11: is done. Nothing's ready for the weekend. No, you got
- 1:14:18Speaker 11: nothing to do. Make sure you have the favorite meal
- 1:14:21Speaker 11: prepared for Sunday night. Also, when before they wake up
- 1:14:26Speaker 11: Sunday morning, you go over to Starbucks, you're dunkin whichever
- 1:14:29Speaker 11: one they like. You get their favorite drink, you get
- 1:14:31Speaker 11: the flowers, you get the MT six gear. You have
- 1:14:33Speaker 11: it laid out as a nice little layout. And then
- 1:14:36Speaker 11: and only then you go upstairs and how you wake
- 1:14:38Speaker 11: them up? How the boys get a ride on Shockwaves?
- 1:14:43Speaker 11: You boys? A lot of somebody should know this. Everybody
- 1:14:46Speaker 11: should know this. Actually, you take her and you give
- 1:14:49Speaker 11: her that admission to the Wet and Wild Water Park,
- 1:14:52Speaker 11: and if you ride the ride correctly, everyone should get splashed.
- 1:14:57Speaker 11: If you pick up what I'm putting down.
- 1:14:59Speaker 12: Then and only then when you have, they will have
- 1:15:01Speaker 12: the best Mother's dry and you will walk out like
- 1:15:05Speaker 12: a king. And you anytime you need anything, babe, remember
- 1:15:09Speaker 12: that Mother's Day. Don't even need to bring it up.
- 1:15:11Speaker 12: You go do whatever you want to do. Golf trip,
- 1:15:13Speaker 12: boys trip, go do it because you have succeeded on
- 1:15:17Speaker 12: Mother's Day. Don't forget the MT six gear. Y'all have
- 1:15:20Speaker 12: a hell a good one. My name is Hayden, dad
- 1:15:23Speaker 12: of two girls. PT sick oh out.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: That's a sick o.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: You go in there.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: Everybody gets a win.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: You go.
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: If you pick up when I'm putting down, you go
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: in there.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: You go earn that golf trip, you go earn it.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Absolute demon dad, he's on demon time.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: Yeah, he's crushing it. He's ready to go. When do
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: you leave that voicemail? Yeah? Do you know when?
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: Have any idea like like when do you check them?
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: What do you mean last week?
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: It sounds like he left it early last week because
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: he said it's getting in on Friday.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: This dude has he's got dates circled on the calendar.
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: He's so dial.
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: We're confirming when the voicemail came in.
- 1:16:18Speaker 6: It doesn't in between, and so I believe this one
- 1:16:21Speaker 6: came in.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: I want to say this one came in around Thursday.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, look he's this guy's dials. If he's the
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: guy you see, you don't.
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: Have to worry about if you haven't gotten the gear,
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: You're fucking wrong. Chef, you were going to say something.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: What were you going to say?
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: I was just gonna say if we had dead space again,
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: I could fill.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: We want to kick it over to chef. No, this
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: other AI video, I could watch it.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: That was one of my That moment at the met
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: galla a AI a Tennessee staffer.
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: Wearing a dress.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: That ain't no Tennessee volunteer, Katy Perry, ain't Dayton, no
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: Tennessee staffer. I can promise you that people kept saying
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Sam Smith was josh Iipel.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: They did not.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: Look at the dress.
- 1:17:18Speaker 5: You know, it's more like your boy, Travis Kelsey is
- 1:17:21Speaker 5: what I saw.
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: Taylor tweeted it too, five words. You know, my coach,
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: you'll put hip on the dress, and chef, do not
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: put the picture of m in that dress with Joshipel's
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: face on it.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: For the pod. Don't do that. Saw the look in
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: Chef's eyes like he had. Travis Kelcey just ammoed up.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Was just gonna that's gonna hurt him. That's you can't boys,
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Travis kelce That's who people thought it was.
- 1:17:52Speaker 8: Ain't well.
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: I didn't see anything about hip.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: We were boy wears dresses. My ball comes up, you kid, mate,
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: that's some bullshit dude. Emails Yeah, yeah, emails filler. I

- 1:18:18Speaker 2: I wanted to reach out and give you a big
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: thank you for the podcast and the incredible community that
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: you're building. As a dad of two, a three year
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: old son and a one year old daughter, it's made
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: a huge impact on my life. It's also helped my
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: wife and myself as we navigate the ups and downs
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: of raising two little ones. Growing up, my dad was
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: an extremely hard worker who carried a lot of stress
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: from providing for our family. He always made sure that
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: we had what we needed, but he was often overwhelmed
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: and could always enjoy time at home. Becoming a dad
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: has always been a dream of mine because I wanted
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: to give my kids a better experience. I've taken my
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: dad's work ethic with me, but I've also needed guidance,
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: especially an under standing that the stress I feel is
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: normal and just a part of being a dad.
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: Your podcast has become.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: My go to on Walks with Dog, and I've been
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: listening consistently for the past six months. The stories you
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: share and the insights you offer have helped me realize
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: I'm not alone in these struggles, something that was never
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: openly talked about when I was growing up. Because of that,
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: I've become a better dad, husband, and overall person. Lately,
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: I've been more intentional about leaving work stress behind and
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: being present for the small, meaningful moments rather that's playing
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: with my kids, watching my son get into golfer basketball,
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: or seeing my daughter explore the world as she crawls
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: and starts working towards her first steps. One morning, during
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: a solo dad Saturday shout out solo Saturdays, I woke
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: up to chaos. My daughter had a diaper blowout overnight,
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: and my son had a stomach bug and God's sick
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: all over his room.
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: Good.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: But instead of feeling over well, the only word that
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: came to mind was good. I just embraced the moment,
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: knowing that someday I'll look back and I'll laugh, and
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: I'll even miss days like this. After listening to the
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: episode about the slide with your daughter, Will, I ended
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: up taking my kids to the playground the next day.
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: My son climbed up a ladder on his own more
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: than twenty times. Later, when my wife got there, the
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: one time she watched, he fell from the top. Instead
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: of panicking, we pause, talked through how scary it was,
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: and he climbed right back up on his own. It
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: was one of those proud dad moments I'll never forget,
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: and I hope it helps build his confidence moving forward.
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: I also want to give a huge shout out to
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: my wife. She's the strongest and most incredible mom. I
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: know she's always there for me and our kids. That's
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: an amazing example, and somehow keeps everything running smoothly. She
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: does so much that often goes unnoticed, all while being
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: my fully present with our All while being fully present
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: with our family, I wouldn't be growing into the dawn
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: I want to be without her love and support. What
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: y'all are building with this community is special. It's truly
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: changing the way I parent and show up in life.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: I'm incredibly grateful to this podcast, and I share it
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: with my wife, my friends, and my children and anyone
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: I know who is expecting. You've helped normalize the realities
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: of being a dad while reminding us what really matters.
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: Thank you for giving me the confidence to be a
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: dad I've always wanted to be, and a dad that
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: my kids deserve. Appreciate y'all. Chris pet Siko out. Thank you, Chris,
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: Thank you, Chris.
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: Wonderful email dude.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Yeah, great storytelling too. Yes, I have one here from
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: Janelle Lockner email. Hi, guys, I wanted to share a
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: quick story and shout out my husband Tom. Come on,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: he is just returned to work after ten weeks of
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: paternity to leave this past fall. We welcome to our
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: baby girl, and we also have a soon to be
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: three year old son. We don't have much family nearby
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: here in Virginia. Our village is basically just our nanny,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: so adjusting to life as a family of four has
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: been dot dot dot a lot between constant preschool sickness,
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: a toddler who refuses to sleep in his own bed,
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: and a very grassy and very vocal baby. We were
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: both struggling. I'd gone back to work full time and
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: Tom was home feeling pretty isolated without much of an outlet.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: Then something shifted. Toward the end of his leave. Tom
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: started listening to your podcast while mowing the lawn, and
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: then on the train to work at the gym, even
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: on a long drive back to New Jersey, and I
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: realized this was the change. He found something that made
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: him feel less alone, something that reminded him that we're
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: not the only ones going through this chaos, and honestly,
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: it's helped us both get through a lot of really
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: tough seasons. So I just want to say thank you.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: You've given my husband an outlet, brought some much needed
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: laughter into our days, and helped our family more than
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: you probably realize.
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: We're so grateful and we'll definitely keep listening. And to
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: my husband, thank you.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: You've showed up every single day with patients, love and
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: a sense of humor even when we're both running on empty.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: You're an incredible dad, and I'm so grateful to be
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: embracing the love and suck of parenthood together with you.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: Janelle Janelle Janelle.
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: Writing in a mom writing in on Mother's Day that's
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: when you know they're an empty siko. Yeah, I got
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: a quick shout out if you have another email that
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: you want to jump into. This comes from Wendy Glasgow.
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: I wanted to read this because I told the guys
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: before the podcast started, there's a reason that the United
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: States of America will never be invaded on the ground.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: It's because of women like Wendy Glassnow, okay, Wendy Glasgow's
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: you're a four says Milk Team six member here from
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: southern Oklahoma, mother to a four year old big boy
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: named Cad, Big Boy, Big Boy.
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: Three day.
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: As Mother's Day is around, As Mother's Day is around
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: the corner, I was wondering if you guys could help
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: about the single mama's out here raising little voice to men.
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: Any advice of any sorts.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: Is greatly appreciated.
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: Absolutely love the show.

- 1:24:18Speaker 2: any mothers that are listening. Single moms, Happy Mother's.
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: Day, Happy Mother's Day. You gotta wear a lot of
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: different hats too.
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: Yeah, man, And what a tall order of any advice
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: for her for her big Bolcaide.
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: I got a quick one here by Dalton Shields. Guys,
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: big what weekend for me?
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: My daughter Blake is for and I've been taking her
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: to a dance every Saturday for six months. Today was
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: the recital. It was amazing. My girl looked beautiful and
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: she danced amazingly. Definitely got a little misty in there,
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: if you know what I mean. The whole squad was
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: in attendants, mom, dad, dance, uncles, and she shined. The
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: peak was absolutely. The peak was absolutely when the teachers
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: pulled all the dads into the back room and asked
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: us you would do anything for your daughters right then
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: had us put on two two's and due a performance
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: see the attached pick and vid. Her teachers gifted her
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: a book which had amazing things written about the energy
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: she braise a class and what kind of student she is.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: Even said she has the best hairstyles. Shout out mom,
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: Happy Mother's Day. Mom made us feel like we're the
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: we're on the right track with raising her, and it
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: was like a reward to know the little woman we
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: are raising and we are raising is making such an
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: impact on people. Seeing your confidence and love for something
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: like dance has made me so proud as a dad.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: I am so grateful for her and my family. It
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: has been a blessing raising her, and I can't wait
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: for more memories and moments like these in the future.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: Dalton Shields from Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Ps. Are we still doing
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: BBQ sauces? If so? Rufus Tigu's touch oh heat, Rufus
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: Tig's touch of heat is hands down the best sauce.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: Take the trash out and here's the photo of Dalton
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: Shields with this beautiful family rocking the tu tuo photo
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: of his little daughter crushing it in ballet class. I
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: also have a video of Dalton Shields Will in the
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: ballet class. Well, we'll pull this up on screen. I'm
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: just turning it for Will.

- 1:26:21Speaker 3: he's crushing it.

- 1:26:50Speaker 1: Good job, Dalton. We are going to now kick it
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: over to the bus. If you have stayed with the

- 1:26:59Speaker 5: Sick o?
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: Yeah, drop siko emoji for quick note back to Wendy
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: because she was asking any advice for her son. I
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: would say, you have all the power in the world
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: and the choice to surround Kate with people in his
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: life that he can look up to, including yourself. Sounds
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: like you are an absolute stud and just surround him
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: with incredible people and be picky people that he will
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: want to look up to to model himself after. And
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: I don't think you can go wrong. In Wendy, it
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: sounds like he's off to a great start because you're
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: his mom, You're a stud.
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: Good words man as well said thank you. All right,

- 1:35:49Speaker 1: videos that we have monitors and screens where we can
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: watch these videos or which moms tuned in? Can we
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: let the get out the bag?
- 1:35:56Speaker 5: Yeah? I think that's all.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: You've got all three moms right, Yes, deep Chef Shurham,
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: Mom's called it with videos answering questions. I personally, I
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: don't even know. I don't know the conversation, I don't
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: know the question. So I'm excited to learn about the
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: Mama bears talking about their boys.
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: My mom sent hers in at one o'clock in the morning.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: Nice, yeah, nice, she took it serious.
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: Well, Deeke, I'm a shit list.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: Oh no, it's Mother's Day week.
- 1:36:27Speaker 2: Deeke did say he does love my mom. But she
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: was the last to cement hers. Oh she was late,
- 1:36:32Speaker 2: she was a little tardy, but she got am in.
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: She got love you, Love you Mom, Love you, Mama Shirham. First,
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: before we get rolling, we got our interns in here.
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: We're gonna let the boys. We're gonna give them a floor,
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: a moment to shout out their moms. Yes, shout out
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: their moms.
- 1:36:48Speaker 8: My mom is amazing, complete badass.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: There and again, just to remind it, remind everybody, make
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: sure you see your name in your position.
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: We got it.
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: Yeah, signing bonus. We got to remind people over and
- 1:36:57Speaker 3: over who they're listening to.
- 1:36:59Speaker 8: Zach Marshall, tight end for University of Michigan football. I'm
- 1:37:03Speaker 8: a senior, and I mean I have the best mom ever.
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: Oh no, Zach Zack Zax sect we gotta you gotta
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: dive in. Yeah, you gotta dive in. Goa.
- 1:37:14Speaker 8: I was gonna let let Tray set the stage for
- 1:37:22Speaker 8: My mom's a complete badass. She's she's done it all.
- 1:37:25Speaker 8: She's been a single mom now her and my dad
- 1:37:28Speaker 8: has raised me and my my sister. She raised my
- 1:37:31Speaker 8: oldest sister alone and was an amazing mom to her.
- 1:37:34Speaker 8: Has has done it all. So she's the spiritual head
- 1:37:37Speaker 8: of our household, like real just has. We'll do anything
- 1:37:42Speaker 8: through a wall.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: What do you say, how old are you?
- 1:37:44Speaker 8: I'm twenty.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: You're twenty, so you're still young in the game. Yeah,
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: if you can think about it, what would you say
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: that you look back on and appreciate a lot more
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: now that you're I mean you're not older, but now
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: that you're twenty years old that maybe pissed you off
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: back in the day. So if you get outside yourself,
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: you've been listening to the for the dads pot as
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: we've recorded all day to day, Like what's something you
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: think that you're noticing now that you didn't notice back
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: in the day.
- 1:38:14Speaker 8: Like you said, the the bragging, the embarrassment you sit there,
- 1:38:18Speaker 8: You're like, ah, come on, mom, stop it. Stop it.
- 1:38:22Speaker 8: Now I look back on that and I'm like, wow,
- 1:38:24Speaker 8: she she was, she is was so proud of me. Yeah,
- 1:38:28Speaker 8: she still is the team mom for Michigan football, Like
- 1:38:30Speaker 8: she's she she lives with me during the fall.
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: Like oh yeah, so she the laundry done.
- 1:38:37Speaker 8: We have a house in ann Arbor so that she
- 1:38:39Speaker 8: can live with me during the fall. And it's like,
- 1:38:43Speaker 8: in the moment you sit there, you go, oh my gosh,
- 1:38:46Speaker 8: there's no way blah blah blah blah. Now you're just like, man,
- 1:38:49Speaker 8: so grateful. Yeah, the gratitude, the gratitude never happens. I know.
- 1:38:54Speaker 8: There's there's a joke like you wish you're in the
- 1:38:56Speaker 8: you knew when you would be in the good old times. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:39:00Speaker 8: sometimes you wish like in the in the times when
- 1:39:03Speaker 8: your mom's like embarrassing you, or or you just like,
- 1:39:06Speaker 8: oh my gosh, you're too much. Sometimes, yeah, those are
- 1:39:10Speaker 8: the moments you remember.
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I remember.
- 1:39:12Speaker 8: I mean she was my best friend, Like I can,
- 1:39:14Speaker 8: I can genuinely say that my mom's like my closest friend,
- 1:39:19Speaker 8: like text her every day, call her every day. I
- 1:39:21Speaker 8: know she was texting during the pod earlier and you
- 1:39:23Speaker 8: got on me. But I'm always taking my mom over
- 1:39:26Speaker 8: for the boys.
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: There you go for the dads.
- 1:39:29Speaker 8: For the dads, I mean he could be both. I
- 1:39:31Speaker 8: mean the young the young ones who aren't dads. Yeah,
- 1:39:33Speaker 8: it's still for the boys.
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: But yeah, my mom, I feel you that you get
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: frustrated in those moments where they're just you know, whether
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: they're around the boys and they're bringing up memories or
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: moments or you're like, god, please just shut up. Yes,
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: but now you know it's dude, appreciate him as much
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: because it's it does more like they are just so proud,
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: like I'm gonna be that dad, Like you're gonna have
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: a kid one day and you're just gonna that's when
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: things are just gonna click, Like you just kind of
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: get the stuff that your parents used to do.
- 1:39:57Speaker 8: You're just so proud of the so the so little.
- 1:39:59Speaker 8: It's like you in the moment, you're like, oh, it
- 1:40:02Speaker 8: wasn't a big deal to you, but it is to them.
- 1:40:05Speaker 8: Like the steps that you take, whether it's as a
- 1:40:08Speaker 8: as a young like you say, the preteens are crazy,
- 1:40:11Speaker 8: those preteens. Yeah, I mean you see your your kid
- 1:40:15Speaker 8: go from being like a preteen to like a real
- 1:40:17Speaker 8: a real man, and they're like, I can only imagine
- 1:40:20Speaker 8: what it is from their view. Yeah, because in your
- 1:40:23Speaker 8: in your life, it's like, dude, it's it's whatever, it's
- 1:40:25Speaker 8: just my life. It's just what's happened. I just changed
- 1:40:28Speaker 8: a couple of ideas. That big a deal, really it is.
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: It's everything to see.
- 1:40:35Speaker 8: I mean I can't say it from experience, obviously, but
- 1:40:38Speaker 8: probably seeing your kid become the person that everyone's parents
- 1:40:44Speaker 8: want them to be better than what they were at
- 1:40:47Speaker 8: that age, or better than them as they grow up. Man,
- 1:40:51Speaker 8: I've moved this too much, so I'm gonna have to
- 1:40:53Speaker 8: tighten this up. But like, just to become better than
- 1:40:57Speaker 8: your parents is the only wish that your parents should
- 1:40:59Speaker 8: have for you. And I know that's probably exactly what
- 1:41:02Speaker 8: you have for scott Zilla and Row, like, yeah, to
- 1:41:07Speaker 8: have your kids become better than you.
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: And they're always going to see you the way we
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: see Scarlett Rue scott Zilla like your little toddler version
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: is how they're just always going to see you.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: Oh dude, I was about to say I know nothing
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: about either one of y'all's moms, but the only thing
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: I do know is how much truly they love you,
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: just from the little experience I have of every single
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: diaper change, every single teaching all how to crawl, teaching
- 1:41:34Speaker 2: you how to walk, making sure you have enough food
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: in your belly, like.
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: Trying to get you to stop whining.
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: Oh dude, your moms just love you.
- 1:41:43Speaker 9: Dude.
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: Yeah, oh Trey, Oh yeah.
- 1:41:49Speaker 9: Trey Fears defensive tackle in RISS and Michigan shout out
- 1:41:53Speaker 9: my mom. It's been, like I think, growing up, you
- 1:41:58Speaker 9: don't realize it, but she is orchestrated in my life
- 1:42:00Speaker 9: and set my life up in a way to where
- 1:42:02Speaker 9: if I failed, it would have it would have been
- 1:42:05Speaker 9: because of me. She's she's done everything for me, Like
- 1:42:11Speaker 9: and I grew up and now I think I think
- 1:42:13Speaker 9: I'm realizing now is that I'm even more impressed with
- 1:42:17Speaker 9: how my parents kind of raised me, because like I'm
- 1:42:20Speaker 9: kind of I'm going into that adult phase and I
- 1:42:22Speaker 9: couldn't imagine taking care of somebody else right now. Like
- 1:42:26Speaker 9: I was in my mom was going to school and
- 1:42:28Speaker 9: I was like in kindergarten and stuff like that. So
- 1:42:31Speaker 9: I'm doing my work, I'm doing football, and I'm doing this.
- 1:42:33Speaker 9: She was doing that, and she was raising a child.
- 1:42:36Speaker 9: So I'm just like, shout out, shout out, Kelly.
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: Shut out. You know.
- 1:42:42Speaker 9: Growing up, I just think my mom's kind of laying.
- 1:42:46Speaker 5: Like we all do.
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: It's like it's kind of natural.
- 1:42:50Speaker 9: Yeah, she I was like, But now I'm in college.
- 1:42:53Speaker 9: Now I'm just like talking to my mom when I'm
- 1:42:55Speaker 9: not living with her, like, you know what, I'll go,
- 1:42:57Speaker 9: I'll go get a drink of my mom. You know,
- 1:42:59Speaker 9: got my mom.
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: You know stuff. Haven't done that, but I would do it. Yeah,
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: shout out Kelly, Kelly.
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: Yeah, fellas, that's awesome. Love to hear that stuff. I
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: loved that.
- 1:43:14Speaker 2: That was so fun, dude. And they did. I know,
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: I'm saying it again, but their their moms love them,
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: Their moms love them. We are very, very lucky to
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: have people in our lives that are spending all those
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: little moments. It's the unseen moments. It's the moments that
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: I can't even remember about my mom, that you can't
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: remember about your mom, that they were doing the right thing,
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: taking care of you, making sure you have every single
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: thing was set up for success. It's unreal.
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: And you also just we know because we're going through
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: right now. But you realize how hard like parenting and
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: all of it, marriage, parenting, teamwork, all that stuff is
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: when you're also doing when you're also chasing the things
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: that you want to chase, and know that there is
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: no It's like I was listening to Ryan Nolan talk
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: about how he crushed a four hour nap on Saturday
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: or Sunday, and I sit back, I'm like, my god,
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: there's just I do miss those times. Yeah, And you're like, Okay,
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: I had a long Friday night or a Saturday and
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: you get to kind of vegi out, you have pockets
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: to veg out, and there's just there's not that anymore
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: because you have to like all of your attention has
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: to be on things at home that also juggle and
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: balance around everything you want to chase in your careers
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: and your ambitions. And then that there's like a sacrifice
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: that does take place that you can't necessarily articulate or
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: like quantify, yeah, until you're like until you're basically just
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: in it.
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: Yes, And that was the only part that I can
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: truly speak to you because I don't have an eight
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: year old, a twelve year old, a grown ass man,
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: a grown ass honor I'm so new to it, but
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: like there is the just like every moment counts. I
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: feel like in parenting, every little moment, and somebody had
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: to make sure that every single one of those moments
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: counted for you guys to be able to take advantage
- 1:45:08Speaker 2: of those moments and be where you are here today.
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: In the mental load we always talk about with moms
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: or with parents, where there's a mental load taking place,
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: like as they're growing up to where we're gonna do it.
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: We all do it with our kids, Like you're thinking
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: about their future. They might think they're thinking about their future,
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: but we as parents are were like, I'm viewing it
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: in a way that's different than the bullshit, the six seven,
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: all this stuff that you guys are dancing around with
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: right now, in a different way that's like, you know,
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: this is longer term thinking that they try to invest
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: in you and pour into you and imprint on you.
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: So that way, they're hopeful that you think about it
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: as much as them. Yeah, but more than your kid
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: can really understand or realize. Boys, that was great. You
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: guys can go hang. You guys can go do your thing.
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: The end, I don't know what's in store for you
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: guys today.
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: Intern.
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: Oh, demon's got something cooked up?
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: I'm sure.
- 1:45:58Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, more coffee, orders more, you know, yeah, turn
- 1:46:01Speaker 8: in right, yeah, more intern. That's the point.
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: Yes, trash, be taking your trash.
- 1:46:08Speaker 8: Luckily there's no lawn here. I mean you guys would
- 1:46:10Speaker 8: have a cutting that says.
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: Even just a little patch we have by the mel box. Hey,
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: let's find a z turnout there like Zach Tray.
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: Thank you guys, Thank you guys, well done.
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: Good work fellas.
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: What's your mother name?
- 1:46:29Speaker 8: Ever?
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: Ever? Ever? Eva Marshall?
- 1:46:32Speaker 8: If you want to try, it's a real name.
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: We'll go with Eva.
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeahva Kelly. We love you.
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: Shout out to you guys. Happy Mother's Day to you both.
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: We have some Mother's Day shout outs here before we
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: get into the videos. I got one here from Scott Froud.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: I just wanted to give a shout out to my
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: amazing wife, Megan. This is our first Mother's Day after
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: having a forty nine.
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: Hour labor with our awesome little dude Saw. You're back
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: in October.
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: Oh my Megan. It is an amazing state o mom
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: and keeps everything running seamlessly in our home. She became
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: an empty sicco not long after having our boy and
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: fully embodies the good mentality. She handles nighttime wake ups,
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: pumping diapers, and a million other things and doesn't complain
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: about it at all. She makes my fatherhood experience so
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: much more enjoyable and I couldn't imagine my or Sawyer's
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: life without her. Megan, I love you more than you'll
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: ever know. Thank you for all that you do in
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: Happy Mother's Day, Love, Scott and Sawyer, Megan, Happy Mother's Day.
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: Happy Mother's Day, Megan. I have one from Dylan Metcalf.
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: Dylan says, what's up, fellas?
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: Not sure who reads these shout out Chef and Deek,
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: but hoping that you guys can help me with a
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: wifey shout out. My wife, Bessie Rose and I welcomed
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: our first child, a baby girl named Campbell, this past December.
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: As of last week May, first Wifey is back to
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: work in our girls off to daycare a few days
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: a week. Everyone goes through it, but this transition marks
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: the start of a huge new chapter in our lives.
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: Bessie Rose has been a rock for our family, adapting
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: to motherhood and being the type of mother that we
- 1:48:03Speaker 2: all dream Our empty sixers will be when the day comes.
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: All that said, I was hoping you can give her
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: this shout out.
- 1:48:10Speaker 3: Bessie Rose.
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: I am in awe of the way that you have
- 1:48:13Speaker 2: navigated life, from the day that we found out you
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: were pregnant through this very moment. You embrace pregnancy with
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: grace and crush delivery with courage, confidence and strength. Your
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: selflessness and dedication to our family is inspiring, and the
- 1:48:27Speaker 2: glow of motherhood has never looked better.
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: Than it does on you.
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: Campbell is lucky to have you as her mom, and
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: I cannot wait to watch or learn from the amazing
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: example that you are setting for her. It goes without saying,
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: but returning to work and spending time away from Bug
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: isn't easy. However, you are once again proving that the
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: way you do anything is the way you do everything
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: with unrelenting tenacity. I love you and I am so
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: so proud and inspired by you. Dylan.
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: That is beautiful.
- 1:49:00Speaker 3: And here is Dylan and Bessie revs.
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: Bessie. Happy Mother's Day.

- 1:49:43Speaker 1: be an absolute mess. We got married October eighteenth, twenty
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: twenty five, but she's been the love of my life
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: since day one, since the day I met her way
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: back in twenty fourteen. Thank you, guys so much for
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: the pot and everything y'all do. Love you guys. I'm

- 1:50:20Speaker 1: Rue's like, uh low forties pounds wise, she's four, She's
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: in like ninety fifth percentile in height. Yeah, average weight. Yeah,
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: but knowing that this three year old is pushing sixty.
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: Five and look at him tossing out the flowers.
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: Dude, Yeah, just being a little flower boy. Rue's got
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: her flower girl.
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: Debut this weekend for my brother Cody's wedding.
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: Oh wow, oh wow, congratulations Cody.
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: Yes, thank you, thank you.
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: That's huge.
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: I'll say thank you for him. Yeah yeah, yeah, oh
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: but that'll be fun.
- 1:50:53Speaker 3: But what a tank dude built for the AG That's
- 1:50:56Speaker 3: a three technique in the making.
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: Yes, sir, Yes, sir. I do have one last Mother's
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: Day shout out. This comes from Garrett Youth of Vin
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: Garrett youth Ovin. Garrett says big g here reporting from
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: the North Missouri PT.
- 1:51:12Speaker 3: Sicko Division.
- 1:51:13Speaker 2: I want to give my wife, Chelsea a huge Mother's
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: Sake shout out for being an incredible mom to our
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: two year old Charlie. She turns three in August. Chelsea
- 1:51:20Speaker 2: has stayed at home with char since she was born
- 1:51:23Speaker 2: and has helped shape her into the sweetest cutest, smartest
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: little girl that I've ever been around. Chelsea has helped
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: her learn to regulate her emotions and help around the house.
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: I try to tell her all the time how great
- 1:51:35Speaker 2: of a job she's doing raising our daughter. I'm so
- 1:51:38Speaker 2: impressed and so thankful for all the work she does,
- 1:51:41Speaker 2: all while taking care of her own needs. At the
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: same time, it's amazing to be able to go to
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: work every day and know I've got such a smart,
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: strong woman as my wife helping shape our daughter into
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: an incredible girl.
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: I'm so proud of both of them.
- 1:51:55Speaker 2: PT Siko out, Let's go, Garrett.
- 1:51:59Speaker 5: Let's go.
- 1:51:59Speaker 9: Gee.
- 1:52:01Speaker 1: Should we get into the videos?
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: Good?
- 1:52:03Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: How do we roll these out? Or just we watch
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: the video? Yeah?
- 1:52:08Speaker 6: I think the dream way to work it is that
- 1:52:09Speaker 6: you guys will watch the video and you can react
- 1:52:11Speaker 6: and you know, say pause. I won't have headphones on.
- 1:52:13Speaker 6: Che will help me out with it, but the video
- 1:52:15Speaker 6: will play on screen. You can put you guys below
- 1:52:17Speaker 6: it or something of that fashion. IM not gonna speak
- 1:52:19Speaker 6: for the editory, but watch it, enjoy it, commentate about it.
- 1:52:22Speaker 6: After all three of our moms answering ten questions that
- 1:52:25Speaker 6: we send them.
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: Okay, let's go.
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: You sure, do you guys hear that?
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: Yeah? Yepay.
- 1:52:32Speaker 5: Question number one, did your son ever show early signs
- 1:52:35Speaker 5: that he'd end up on a podcast or in front
- 1:52:37Speaker 5: of an audience someday?
- 1:52:38Speaker 8: Well, I think so.
- 1:52:40Speaker 7: You love to talk.
- 1:52:44Speaker 17: You talked all the time, very verbal, and then as
- 1:52:49Speaker 17: you got older, you love.
- 1:52:51Speaker 7: To watch movies and you would just sit.
- 1:52:54Speaker 17: And watch like three hour movies, the whole process and
- 1:53:01Speaker 17: loved it so absolutely.
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: But you loved to talk.
- 1:53:05Speaker 6: I remember that you were very verbal.
- 1:53:07Speaker 7: You loved books and you love movies.
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: So yeah, sounds verbal. Sounds about right.
- 1:53:13Speaker 18: I didn't know what a podcast was. Derek love being
- 1:53:16Speaker 18: on stages at a young age. He loved acting, singing,
- 1:53:20Speaker 18: and entertaining from the time he started talking. My first
- 1:53:24Speaker 18: experience with a podcast was Derek's podcast Thoughts from the Bench.
- 1:53:28Speaker 18: I was impressed with his creativity and how fun the
- 1:53:31Speaker 18: show was was obvious he and the guys had a
- 1:53:34Speaker 18: great deal of joy from doing the show.
- 1:53:37Speaker 4: It's absolutely yes. Sherman was an entertainer from the very beginning,
- 1:53:41Speaker 4: and even his birth was.
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: Like one am now of the Coen Brothers.
- 1:53:45Speaker 4: Films, and he was in every play and every production
- 1:53:50Speaker 4: and improv and high school. He wrote and directed a
- 1:53:54Speaker 4: movie that was shot at our home, which was basically
- 1:53:57Speaker 4: like a film studio.
- 1:54:00Speaker 7: Everything in his life has been creative.
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: Pause.
- 1:54:04Speaker 5: That's that's question number one, Question number one.
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: I thought your mom's guys did a phenomenal job breaking
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: you guys down.
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: I like if it was just me sitting with your
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: guys's moms asking this first question and they were just
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: answering to me, I feel like every answer that they
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: had I feel like articulates you guys, like in that fashion,
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: like you with starting off with chef just a talker,
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: Like you get caught in a corner with chef, you
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: talking Tennessee balls, fill in the space, it's spot on,
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: oh d to where as you continue to talk, there's
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: a smile that comes on my face because I just
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: now know that it's happening, and I know it's you
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: with Deeke like creativity, the way that you are able.
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: I've used the word articulate a lot already, but the
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: way like Derek is able to articulate, whether in like
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: a blog writing talking about film. When we were in Pittsburgh,
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: in your taking us around, what was the area called
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: where you were showing us, Hey, this is where I
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: did the podcast, is where we do this, you know, Yeah,
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: you're talking about Monday through Friday, like your grind each
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: day of the week. I feel like your mom was
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: able to like encapsulate that to where again, if I'm
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: just sitting with your mom, it's like this warm smiles
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: on my face because I'm like, yeah, like this has
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: been you guys, like from the jump, like you having
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: a film studio and your creativity and production and wanting
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: to be in film and being in front of cameras
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: and being part of the play. I feel like that
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: is Sherman young, Like I am not surprised to hear
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: these things from your mom like at a young age. Dude.
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: The also the added note of Chef's setup of like
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: him being at.
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: Were you there for the recording?
- 1:55:45Speaker 5: Eye, So I did the interview.
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: I love that so much, dude. His mom is so
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: cute and sweet.
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:55:51Speaker 5: Video, it was like Lisa was slightly nervous for it,
- 1:55:54Speaker 5: which like I guess we're all numb to like the
- 1:55:56Speaker 5: fact that we were on a podcast.
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: Yeah talk to people.
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:55:58Speaker 5: I had to remind myself, hey, this is gonna go
- 1:56:01Speaker 5: out in front of a lot of people. So I
- 1:56:02Speaker 5: was like, hey, I'll walk you through it. We'll do
- 1:56:04Speaker 5: it together. I'm excited for you guys to see some
- 1:56:06Speaker 5: of the other.
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: Okay, question number two.
- 1:56:16Speaker 18: What's the most trouble he ever got into as a
- 1:56:18Speaker 18: kid and did you think he got away with it
- 1:56:21Speaker 18: as a preschooler? Derek and his best friend called nine
- 1:56:24Speaker 18: one one and they came art paid fun.
- 1:56:27Speaker 7: I thought, as well as.
- 1:56:28Speaker 18: I didn't put money in it, it wouldn't call.
- 1:56:30Speaker 15: He was to say.
- 1:56:31Speaker 18: The police showed up and talked on the lesson.
- 1:56:33Speaker 17: Oh, let's see which one I can. Oh, gosh, I
- 1:56:42Speaker 17: think the most teenager. I think the most trouble you
- 1:56:45Speaker 17: got as a teenager that I recall is when we
- 1:56:52Speaker 17: had to take your little brother to a soccer tournament
- 1:56:55Speaker 17: you were in high school. We let you stay by
- 1:56:57Speaker 17: yourself for the very first time, and I said, under
- 1:57:01Speaker 17: no circumstances, you're allowed to have your buddies over, no parties,
- 1:57:05Speaker 17: no risky business.
- 1:57:08Speaker 7: I don't know if you remember this, but you were
- 1:57:10Speaker 7: probably sixteen, maybe.
- 1:57:13Speaker 17: Fifteen or sixteen, and we let you say, and we said,
- 1:57:16Speaker 17: your grandma's going to check on you. The neighbors are
- 1:57:18Speaker 17: going to don't know if you have people over and
- 1:57:21Speaker 17: you're like, I got it, mom, No, no, my friends
- 1:57:23Speaker 17: aren't going to come over. And then we came home
- 1:57:26Speaker 17: that Sunday walked in the garage and like our shoes
- 1:57:31Speaker 17: were sticking.
- 1:57:34Speaker 7: You. I'm like, oh, he totally had people over, So
- 1:57:38Speaker 7: you got busted.
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: Some beard. Paul went down in their garage.
- 1:57:44Speaker 4: Most trouble that Sherman ever got into with me was
- 1:57:48Speaker 4: that he made an a B C D in F
- 1:57:52Speaker 4: one semester in college and I told him he had
- 1:57:57Speaker 4: to come home and work construction and that He said, well,
- 1:58:02Speaker 4: you know that's a C average, right, I mean, people
- 1:58:05Speaker 4: don't send their kid home for a CEA average.
- 1:58:07Speaker 7: And I was like, yeah, I know, you're coming home.
- 1:58:09Speaker 7: So he did, and several of them, you know, I
- 1:58:13Speaker 7: never go back to college, and I was like, no,
- 1:58:15Speaker 7: he's going back to college.
- 1:58:16Speaker 4: He's going to get a college degree, but he's going
- 1:58:18Speaker 4: to come home and work and appreciate it. And so
- 1:58:20Speaker 4: he did, and it ended up being like one of
- 1:58:22Speaker 4: the most wonderful experience and all the people he worked with,
- 1:58:26Speaker 4: it was really really a cool experience.
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: Oh that was all three Yeah, that's all. There's the
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: routine in my head an and F and you're saying that.
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: C average, but also it was a it was a
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: point eight average. So that's just a bold face lie
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: of saying it was a cea average. I was trying
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: to pull one over on my mom.
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: How ruda was the construction.
- 1:58:57Speaker 3: I mean it was very hard because my dad's friend.
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: Owned a remodeling business, basically said, Hey, my wife is
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: wanting to put my son in construction. I know you
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: own this remodeling business, blah blah. He was like, I
- 1:59:14Speaker 2: got a crew I could put him on tomorrow, And
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: my dad basically told him kick his ass, like fully
- 1:59:21Speaker 2: kick his ass. And my very, my very first day,
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: the Keith Horton, who has since passed, but I truly
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: Keith Horton is like up there with my dad and
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: some other men that I like, highly regard of, like
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: huge life lessons learned, shakes my hand when I show up,
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: gives me this whole rundown, which I find out later
- 1:59:46Speaker 2: is complete bullshit of about something in the yard that
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: they got to redo. Yeah, and he says, I need
- 1:59:52Speaker 2: you to dig up this entire trench and we're talking
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: like thirty feet of like at least seven feet into
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: the ground. I need you to dig it all up.
- 2:00:02Speaker 2: And it took me two days to do that. And
- 2:00:05Speaker 2: once I was done, Keith was like, hey, homeowners, they
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: changed their mind, so we actually we need all that
- 2:00:11Speaker 2: back back in that trench of kind of like letting
- 2:00:14Speaker 2: me know, like, hey, you ain't this ain't summer camp,
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: like welcome, welcome to the ship. Yeah, we just gave
- 2:00:22Speaker 2: you a job that didn't even exist to like really
- 2:00:25Speaker 2: kick your oh, dude. And it was like that for
- 2:00:28Speaker 2: the first three weeks. And then once I like was
- 2:00:30Speaker 2: showing them a attitude of like, hey, I'm not going
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: to quit, I'm happy to be here and I'm going
- 2:00:35Speaker 2: to have a good attitude about it and stuff, they
- 2:00:37Speaker 2: quickly started putting me on more and more jobs and
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: giving me more and more like actual responsibility. And it
- 2:00:45Speaker 2: ended up being so sick, and it made me appreciate
- 2:00:48Speaker 2: college that much more. Like I went back, I didn't
- 2:00:50Speaker 2: make a blow of b average after construction. GPA was
- 2:00:54Speaker 2: already screwed from the point eight that brought home. But
- 2:00:58Speaker 2: this was but the lesson was good, lesson was learned,
- 2:01:01Speaker 2: lesson was awesome, and that all came from Miss Amy.
- 2:01:03Speaker 2: She was like my dad was trying to think of
- 2:01:06Speaker 2: some kind of way to kind of, you know, teach
- 2:01:08Speaker 2: me a lesson. Blah blah blah. Miss Amy was like,
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: you pull his ass out of school right now. He's
- 2:01:14Speaker 2: not getting away with this shit and that thank you mom.
- 2:01:17Speaker 1: Dude, Shout out your mom. Shout out your mom. I
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: remember one time I was like, in uh, fifth or
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: sixth grade, and I what do they call progress reports?
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: Like the midterm report card whatever it was?
- 2:01:28Speaker 5: Ya ruh.
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: This was like a progress report, so not the full
- 2:01:31Speaker 1: report card? Yes, And I had gotten I believe a
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: D in AR reading. So in AR reading, you would
- 2:01:38Speaker 1: have to read you know, books around like your whatever
- 2:01:41Speaker 1: grade level you were at, yep. And then you after
- 2:01:43Speaker 1: you read the AR book, you would go and take
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: an AR test.
- 2:01:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:01:46Speaker 1: And if you test it well, like you pass whatever
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: it is, get over a seven out of ten or
- 2:01:50Speaker 1: something like that. And I was doing very poorly in
- 2:01:54Speaker 1: ARI because I hated reading growing up, Like I was
- 2:01:56Speaker 1: not a big reader. I hated English. I hated reading.
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: And I remember being in the middle of a football
- 2:02:02Speaker 1: practice played for the Panthers. But my mom came in
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: the middle during football practice and pulled me from practice
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: and then told my coach, and make sure to say
- 2:02:13Speaker 1: it in front of me, if he's going to fail
- 2:02:14Speaker 1: in school, like, he's not going to play football, because
- 2:02:17Speaker 1: I know he loves like I know he loves football.
- 2:02:19Speaker 1: I know this is what he has the most fun doing. Yeah,
- 2:02:22Speaker 1: if he doesn't make good grades, like, he's not going
- 2:02:24Speaker 1: to play football. And she took my ass home and
- 2:02:26Speaker 1: I was basically was like, if you don't get your
- 2:02:28Speaker 1: shit turned around or go to your teacher and ask
- 2:02:30Speaker 1: questions about how you can lift it up, knowing that
- 2:02:32Speaker 1: it was a progress report.
- 2:02:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that you're.
- 2:02:35Speaker 1: Listening, you're not playing football. If you're not going to
- 2:02:37Speaker 1: take school serious, you're not going to take this other
- 2:02:38Speaker 1: stuff serious. God damn, it's like those little lessons like
- 2:02:42Speaker 1: I enjoy hearing that.
- 2:02:44Speaker 2: It's gonna be hard for us to do that one day.
- 2:02:46Speaker 2: Yeah you know what I mean, Like I think about
- 2:02:49Speaker 2: that with Scarlett already. I'm like, I have to keep
- 2:02:53Speaker 2: that mentality that my mom did not budge on punishments.
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: Once it came out of her mouth, that was God
- 2:03:00Speaker 2: might as well have said it. God might as well
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: have said it, because that that's what was gonna happen
- 2:03:05Speaker 2: The nine on one call is so funny.
- 2:03:08Speaker 6: I remember at vividly because it was my childhood buddy
- 2:03:10Speaker 6: and we were at a kmart and our moms were
- 2:03:12Speaker 6: in there. I forget why, but they were taking forever
- 2:03:13Speaker 6: and so we were dialing like fake numbers on the
- 2:03:16Speaker 6: payphone because you obviously got to put money in it.
- 2:03:19Speaker 6: And I was so young that I used. I was
- 2:03:20Speaker 6: still going to like Safety Town at this point, and
- 2:03:23Speaker 6: so I called in and we would just be like,
- 2:03:24Speaker 6: oh my gosh, god Zilla has attacking this kmart and
- 2:03:26Speaker 6: hang up. And then cops came and they're like, is
- 2:03:29Speaker 6: there an emergency? And I was like, no, no, my
- 2:03:34Speaker 6: mom's like oh, officerly like and told him and the
- 2:03:36Speaker 6: cops like we could take you to jail, kid, and
- 2:03:39Speaker 6: like obviously handed it up for the next year. At
- 2:03:44Speaker 6: Safety Town, which I used to go, and you learn
- 2:03:46Speaker 6: about crossing the street and like they have these little
- 2:03:48Speaker 6: cars you can pedal in these bikes, Like it was
- 2:03:50Speaker 6: so much fun. I had to sit there and explain
- 2:03:52Speaker 6: to the whole class the safety terribleness of what I've
- 2:03:56Speaker 6: done basically. Oh, and so I had to explain to
- 2:03:59Speaker 6: the whole class that I called nine on one and
- 2:04:00Speaker 6: they can come. And I basically said to the class,
- 2:04:03Speaker 6: you don't got to put money in those phones. They
- 2:04:05Speaker 6: work like those phones work, and do not put money
- 2:04:08Speaker 6: on them. You call whatever you want to call, and
- 2:04:09Speaker 6: call the cops. And I was like I left it
- 2:04:11Speaker 6: being like that's not exactly the message I wanted to say, yeah, yeah,
- 2:04:14Speaker 6: yeah at that.
- 2:04:15Speaker 1: Point, Yeah, that's so fun. I remember pulling a prank
- 2:04:18Speaker 1: on my mom. I saw a cop like driving by,
- 2:04:22Speaker 1: or we were around a cop, like when we were
- 2:04:24Speaker 1: driving home, and I remember pulling a prank of like
- 2:04:28Speaker 1: I was like leaning out the window and I was.
- 2:04:29Speaker 6: Like help, yeah, well yeah, get you taken away.
- 2:04:38Speaker 1: And so we get pulled over whatever. Like my mom
- 2:04:42Speaker 1: was hitting me, but I'm I'm joking.
- 2:04:45Speaker 2: Once the cop came, you were still going.
- 2:04:48Speaker 1: Well, and like the cop was aware of what was
- 2:04:51Speaker 1: going on, and you know, my mom was like trying
- 2:04:54Speaker 1: to handle it, and like you know when the cop
- 2:04:56Speaker 1: when the cop left, she's give me a very stern
- 2:04:58Speaker 1: talking to you about like not that way, and I didn't, like,
- 2:05:01Speaker 1: I'm just trying to be like funny.
- 2:05:02Speaker 2: How old are you?
- 2:05:04Speaker 1: Uh, probably like ten or eleven? Too young? Just young?
- 2:05:09Speaker 2: Hey, don't sleep on the fact that chef had the
- 2:05:12Speaker 2: boys over for a little for a little booze hour.
- 2:05:15Speaker 5: And yes, bro, it was full risky business the next
- 2:05:20Speaker 5: day and I was like, I'm so fucked too. It's
- 2:05:24Speaker 5: just maybe it took mom and dad maybe twenty minutes
- 2:05:26Speaker 5: before my dad was like, I know, I know what happened.
- 2:05:29Speaker 5: He I got a shitload of trouble for that.
- 2:05:31Speaker 2: How many guys do you have over?
- 2:05:32Speaker 5: I think it was like ten to twelve people.
- 2:05:34Speaker 2: That's a pretty good party.
- 2:05:36Speaker 1: He's a pretty good party.
- 2:05:37Speaker 2: That's a pretty good party.
- 2:05:38Speaker 1: So funny that we all have those stories like that.
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: Coddy was at a wrestling tournament and I threw a
- 2:05:43Speaker 1: party back home because I was wrestling JV at the time,
- 2:05:46Speaker 1: like I was doing JV first because it was like
- 2:05:48Speaker 1: the year where I was either grounded or I had
- 2:05:50Speaker 1: to wrestle.
- 2:05:52Speaker 3: So first tournament, varsity's going varsity.
- 2:05:54Speaker 1: They're gonna like make an example, Like I have to
- 2:05:56Speaker 1: earn my way to VARs to be on the varsity roster.
- 2:06:00Speaker 1: So I had to be on the bus the next
- 2:06:01Speaker 1: morning at like five or six am to do like
- 2:06:03Speaker 1: this three hour bus ride to jeff City. Oh god,
- 2:06:06Speaker 1: And I threw a party at the house where I
- 2:06:08Speaker 1: had like ten twelve people over and we got so hammered.
- 2:06:13Speaker 1: Bro oh god to where like somebody gets like taking home,
- 2:06:17Speaker 1: they're like puking in the side. They're like dropping me
- 2:06:19Speaker 1: off of the thing, and I'm just hung over and
- 2:06:22Speaker 1: I'm just hoping that my boys logan John oh, they
- 2:06:26Speaker 1: have to clean up, yeah, cleaning up my house and
- 2:06:29Speaker 1: making sure stuff's in order. But my parents come home
- 2:06:32Speaker 1: and there's like a we were fucking. This is when
- 2:06:34Speaker 1: forty year old virgin was hot, and so somebody had
- 2:06:39Speaker 1: a condom like on their hand doing like I am
- 2:06:41Speaker 1: Aquaman and it was just out and that's what got us, Logan,
- 2:06:47Speaker 1: we got that's what got us. When I got back
- 2:06:50Speaker 1: from that JV wrestling tournament. By the way, I won
- 2:06:52Speaker 1: the wrestling tournament. Didn't get scored on at the JV
- 2:06:55Speaker 1: wrestling tournament. We'll come back and then like we're getting
- 2:06:59Speaker 1: you know, you know, yeah, yeah, it was not good.
- 2:07:03Speaker 1: It was not good. In another prank, like the nine
- 2:07:08Speaker 1: one one, a car was gonna pull out. We were
- 2:07:10Speaker 1: on a stop sign. I was like myudd look out
- 2:07:12Speaker 1: and she like slams on the brakes and there was
- 2:07:14Speaker 1: no car I was like, I'm just kidding, dude. She
- 2:07:17Speaker 1: fucking I was like, mo b look god no, I
- 2:07:20Speaker 1: started laughing. I'm like, oh, there's no car. She reaches
- 2:07:23Speaker 1: backhands with me.
- 2:07:23Speaker 7: Bro.
- 2:07:25Speaker 1: I'm bleeding mouth. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, because I'm
- 2:07:31Speaker 1: I was like a little like a middle a little
- 2:07:34Speaker 1: menace in my own right.
- 2:07:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm shocked at My mom also didn't tell this
- 2:07:39Speaker 2: story because this is the most match she's ever been
- 2:07:41Speaker 2: at me. One of my little movies that I was
- 2:07:44Speaker 2: standing was a Russian terrorist uh film where we had
- 2:07:48Speaker 2: I got my three friends that were the only three
- 2:07:50Speaker 2: friends with black like SUVs, and we had people standing
- 2:07:55Speaker 2: out of windows and stuff on this back road in Alito,
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: Texas and a train is coming because there's a train
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: tracks that go through the city of Aledo. And I
- 2:08:06Speaker 2: tell everybody, we have speakerphones going through all three vehicles,
- 2:08:10Speaker 2: and I'm directing it from the front vehicle and I'm
- 2:08:13Speaker 2: shooting the whole thing, and I say, production value, we
- 2:08:15Speaker 2: got a train come in. You guys act like you're
- 2:08:17Speaker 2: shooting at the train. Union Pacific gets on the phone
- 2:08:22Speaker 2: because the guy driving the train calls it in because
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: all he sees is guys in ski masks with huge
- 2:08:30Speaker 2: fake airsoft guns that we spray painted like assault type weapons,
- 2:08:34Speaker 2: and we're driving this way, trains coming this way and
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: they're going to the train. So that guy's probably like
- 2:08:41Speaker 2: what the fuck? And Bro and I didn't even know
- 2:08:45Speaker 2: they exist. It is a f five point fifty and
- 2:08:49Speaker 2: it's just a massive pickup truck with train wheels there
- 2:08:52Speaker 2: inside of the street wheels so it can drive on
- 2:08:54Speaker 2: the tracks. Is flying down the railroad with lights on
- 2:08:58Speaker 2: because we stopped there and we're like shooting something like
- 2:09:02Speaker 2: eight police cards end up coming. Dude, it was a
- 2:09:05Speaker 2: whole thing. I do not know how we didn't go
- 2:09:07Speaker 2: to jail, I truly don't. But we had the camera
- 2:09:11Speaker 2: and we're like, we're shooting this movie blah blah blah.
- 2:09:13Speaker 2: But my mom I wasn't allowed to do anything for
- 2:09:16Speaker 2: like three months, Like I was grounded, grounded for three months.
- 2:09:20Speaker 6: Oh, saying it's an indie film had to be so embarrassing.
- 2:09:24Speaker 6: There's this train robbery coming and the cops get there.
- 2:09:27Speaker 2: You with an indie film, just a bunch of sixteen
- 2:09:30Speaker 2: and seventeen year olds, crazy, shut up moms.
- 2:09:34Speaker 5: Question, Shut up moms.
- 2:09:35Speaker 1: Question three. I said the twenty minute time.
- 2:09:38Speaker 3: That was just going off two questions at okay.
- 2:09:47Speaker 1: Time out go we can't, we can't well, no audio,
- 2:09:50Speaker 1: are you saying the question?
- 2:09:51Speaker 8: No?
- 2:09:53Speaker 7: What was the moment raising him that he did not
- 2:09:55Speaker 7: appreciate at the time.
- 2:09:58Speaker 4: It's just tragic flaw Sherman is a mess and it
- 2:10:04Speaker 4: was not funny then, and it's.
- 2:10:06Speaker 7: Not funny now, and you can ask Jill and she
- 2:10:09Speaker 7: will bat me up on this.
- 2:10:11Speaker 8: It's bad.
- 2:10:12Speaker 18: We had an old recliner with a broken armress that
- 2:10:15Speaker 18: the end could be removed. Inside there was a very
- 2:10:18Speaker 18: large Can we.
- 2:10:19Speaker 3: Go back, Let's just start the whole clip over because
- 2:10:23Speaker 3: it's like delayed.
- 2:10:30Speaker 7: What was a moment raising him that you did not
- 2:10:33Speaker 7: appreciate at the time.
- 2:10:36Speaker 4: It's his tragic faw Sherman is a mess and it
- 2:10:41Speaker 4: was not funny then, and it's.
- 2:10:44Speaker 7: Not funny now. And you can ask Jill and she
- 2:10:46Speaker 7: will bat me up on this. It's bad.
- 2:10:50Speaker 18: We had an old recliner with a broken armrest that
- 2:10:53Speaker 18: the end could be removed inside there was a very
- 2:10:56Speaker 18: large now it stuck straight out if you pulled off
- 2:11:00Speaker 18: the end of the arm One day, Derek's brother Nica,
- 2:11:02Speaker 18: made him mad and he grabbed that arm with the
- 2:11:05Speaker 18: large nail sticking out, and ran through the house after
- 2:11:07Speaker 18: his brother. Luckily we were able to stop him before
- 2:11:11Speaker 18: he inflicted it.
- 2:11:13Speaker 6: I think when I.
- 2:11:14Speaker 17: Look back, when you were younger, you were very inquisitive.
- 2:11:18Speaker 7: You were you talked a lot, all right, was good?
- 2:11:27Speaker 17: Been a little stubborn and bullheaded because you like to
- 2:11:30Speaker 17: debate with people.
- 2:11:34Speaker 7: That's was probably a good thing. That's a good thing.
- 2:11:38Speaker 4: One.
- 2:11:43Speaker 7: Did you get that from your uncle John?
- 2:11:46Speaker 1: From your uncle John, you're stubborn. Get that from your
- 2:11:50Speaker 1: uncle John.
- 2:11:50Speaker 2: I believe he talked a lot, all right.
- 2:11:55Speaker 1: I think that's a good thing. Was gonna laugh at day,
- 2:11:57Speaker 1: stubborn and bullet you're gonna get you get that from
- 2:11:59Speaker 1: your uncle John.
- 2:12:00Speaker 5: Oh my god, I do get that from uncle John.
- 2:12:02Speaker 1: We know we heard hey, we heard.
- 2:12:06Speaker 2: Sorry. That made me laugh so hard I farted And
- 2:12:08Speaker 2: it does not smell that God, that was funny. Should
- 2:12:12Speaker 2: we should we just do you swell it?
- 2:12:15Speaker 3: Okay?
- 2:12:15Speaker 1: Good?
- 2:12:16Speaker 2: Do we want to just keep on ripping through.
- 2:12:18Speaker 1: Let's let's just rip.
- 2:12:21Speaker 6: I don't get hurt.
- 2:12:22Speaker 1: Didn't hurt anyone. You were you're looking at my dad's
- 2:12:25Speaker 1: like Michael Myers running around with the nail.
- 2:12:27Speaker 6: I was chasing my brother with the nail arm and
- 2:12:30Speaker 6: he just goes Marsha and she was following third behind.
- 2:12:35Speaker 6: Oh my god, what's something he did as a little
- 2:12:40Speaker 6: kid that he'd probably be embarrassed you talk about on
- 2:12:43Speaker 6: a podcast.
- 2:12:43Speaker 19: Oh boy, oh gosh, as a little boy embarrassed.
- 2:12:52Speaker 7: Oh. The one thing that comes to my mind is
- 2:12:55Speaker 7: when we were at Mass on Sunday we all went
- 2:12:59Speaker 7: to Mass. Grant was a baby.
- 2:13:01Speaker 17: We had just moved back from Dallas, so you were
- 2:13:04Speaker 17: probably three, and that you were three and a half.
- 2:13:06Speaker 7: It was before you turned four.
- 2:13:08Speaker 5: We were in Mass.
- 2:13:09Speaker 7: You were a little rambunctious.
- 2:13:11Speaker 20: Your dad took you outside.
- 2:13:15Speaker 17: And the way that our lady of the lake do
- 2:13:17Speaker 17: you I don't know if you remember this, that the
- 2:13:19Speaker 17: wind there was just glass windows.
- 2:13:22Speaker 7: And the priest can see out.
- 2:13:25Speaker 17: And apparently your dad turned around for just a few seconds.
- 2:13:29Speaker 7: You had to go to the bathroom and didn't.
- 2:13:31Speaker 17: Tell your dad, and you started to pee in the
- 2:13:36Speaker 17: floor bed and and well the priest could see you.
- 2:13:45Speaker 17: We were a little mortified.
- 2:13:46Speaker 7: That.
- 2:13:48Speaker 1: That's a good funny one. Yeah, it's a good funny one.
- 2:13:52Speaker 18: It is literally impossible to embarrass Derek. He won't be
- 2:13:56Speaker 18: embarrassed at all by this. But once Derek and Niko
- 2:13:59Speaker 18: were playing with the two little girls across the street
- 2:14:01Speaker 18: when they all were preschool aged, they all pulled their
- 2:14:05Speaker 18: pants down around their ankles and peede in the yard together.
- 2:14:08Speaker 1: Nice.
- 2:14:09Speaker 2: My mom skipped this one, by the way. I don't
- 2:14:12Speaker 2: know if that was intentral or not.
- 2:14:14Speaker 1: Who knows, man, I know.
- 2:14:15Speaker 3: I mean, at least you guys have some fun peace stories.
- 2:14:18Speaker 1: Like my mom was talking, she just soiled me on
- 2:14:21Speaker 1: how I went the bed, like very consistently. I was
- 2:14:25Speaker 1: gonna endo my teenage years.
- 2:14:26Speaker 2: I've told you that it was a big, big bed
- 2:14:28Speaker 2: weather as well, right big, not as long, but I'm
- 2:14:32Speaker 2: probably six years old, but I was a lightly Yeah
- 2:14:36Speaker 2: that's light work, but I just wanted to, like be
- 2:14:38Speaker 2: verse four, she just.
- 2:14:39Speaker 1: Beat the bed, but like six, it's I'm not. I
- 2:14:42Speaker 1: wouldn't think nothing of that. You try again, you beat
- 2:14:45Speaker 1: your at your buddy's house and with anxiety going to sleep,
- 2:14:49Speaker 1: like god, I hope I don't piss.
- 2:14:51Speaker 2: The bed, breaking into their washer and dryer room to
- 2:14:55Speaker 2: go to pre clean before anybody wakes up.
- 2:14:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I was. I was up early, trying to well
- 2:15:02Speaker 1: get rid of the evidence sleeping on your buddy's floor
- 2:15:05Speaker 1: and you just piss on the floor like bro oh.
- 2:15:09Speaker 3: And then when you when you know they know that
- 2:15:11Speaker 3: you pissed the bed, and it's like, you know, god,
- 2:15:20Speaker 3: oh my gosh.
- 2:15:22Speaker 4: Question number five, what was a moment raising him where
- 2:15:25Speaker 4: you thought, Okay, he's gonna be all right. I knew
- 2:15:29Speaker 4: he was going to be more than all right from
- 2:15:31Speaker 4: the get go. He was just always been the biggest
- 2:15:34Speaker 4: blessing in my life and.
- 2:15:36Speaker 7: Just full of joy.
- 2:15:37Speaker 4: And it was just a blessing to raise him and
- 2:15:42Speaker 4: to see him become such a sweet, fun, consistent, loving
- 2:15:46Speaker 4: dad to Scarlet and making her belly laugh and just
- 2:15:51Speaker 4: planning fun things to her all the time.
- 2:15:55Speaker 7: It just blows me away to see the dad that
- 2:15:57Speaker 7: he has become.
- 2:16:00Speaker 1: Not a moment time out.
- 2:16:04Speaker 4: So question number five, what was the moment raising him
- 2:16:07Speaker 4: where you thought, Okay, he's gonna be all right.
- 2:16:10Speaker 7: I knew he was going to be more than all right.
- 2:16:15Speaker 1: So your mom knew you were going to be more
- 2:16:18Speaker 1: than al right from the get go. Then at the
- 2:16:21Speaker 1: very end, I don't know if you guys heard it,
- 2:16:23Speaker 1: it blows her mind of.
- 2:16:26Speaker 2: What a what an incredible dad.
- 2:16:28Speaker 1: I beg yeah, yeah, yeah, blows her mind.
- 2:16:31Speaker 2: Surprised, That's what I'm saying.
- 2:16:33Speaker 1: She kind of go away. I'm surprised.
- 2:16:38Speaker 2: Blows my mom.
- 2:16:39Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Your mom loves you.
- 2:16:42Speaker 6: She does.
- 2:16:43Speaker 1: Your mama loves you, she does, all right, keep going.
- 2:16:48Speaker 7: Question number five.
- 2:16:53Speaker 14: Not a moment.
- 2:16:54Speaker 18: There were many moments Derry going off and discuss things
- 2:16:57Speaker 18: with me, and we were fortunate to be able to mess.
- 2:17:00Speaker 18: We let him make decisions for himself. He discussed things
- 2:17:03Speaker 18: with us, but usually came to decisions on his own.
- 2:17:06Speaker 18: We learned pretty early he was thoughtful in his decisions,
- 2:17:09Speaker 18: and we felt confident in letting him do.
- 2:17:11Speaker 7: That well in college.
- 2:17:13Speaker 1: Thoughtful keyword.
- 2:17:15Speaker 7: You had a sophomore year in college and.
- 2:17:20Speaker 6: You turned it around.
- 2:17:21Speaker 17: We had to come to Jesus meeting at the end
- 2:17:23Speaker 17: of that sophomore.
- 2:17:24Speaker 7: Year, and you turned it around your junior year.
- 2:17:27Speaker 1: And I'll never forget few years ago.
- 2:17:30Speaker 17: On a trip I was going with him, like on
- 2:17:34Speaker 17: a business trip, and we were in the airplane getting
- 2:17:36Speaker 17: ready to take off, and there was a.
- 2:17:37Speaker 20: Notification from UT and you had made the Dean's list
- 2:17:44Speaker 20: and that we had a rough winter. If you recall,
- 2:17:47Speaker 20: that was a rough venture we had a lot of
- 2:17:50Speaker 20: things going on, and I just remember I saw that
- 2:17:54Speaker 20: and I.
- 2:17:54Speaker 17: Looked at your dad and I said, I think he's
- 2:17:55Speaker 17: going to be Okay, he's going to be.
- 2:18:00Speaker 2: Four years you changed.
- 2:18:02Speaker 7: It was a It was a great thing when you change.
- 2:18:04Speaker 2: The chef's mob is undefeated.
- 2:18:06Speaker 1: Yes, broad defeated, dude making the Deans lists. I think
- 2:18:12Speaker 1: he's gonna be all right.
- 2:18:15Speaker 5: If that me during that time, you probably it's actually
- 2:18:19Speaker 5: it would make a lot more sense.
- 2:18:20Speaker 1: Oh, I believe. I believe your mom. Dude.
- 2:18:22Speaker 5: Yeah, yes, solid for you. I said it in there too,
- 2:18:25Speaker 5: I said, yeah, solid four years ago.
- 2:18:27Speaker 2: There's one coming up with my mom that I alluded
- 2:18:31Speaker 2: to earlier in the show. Yeah, I will be very
- 2:18:35Speaker 2: embarrassed by.
- 2:18:36Speaker 6: Yeah, what's the one piece of advice you gave him
- 2:18:40Speaker 6: that you actually think stuck?
- 2:18:46Speaker 17: I think I instilled in you and your brother from
- 2:18:50Speaker 17: an early age of education.
- 2:18:52Speaker 19: Was very important and just to keep pushing through that
- 2:18:58Speaker 19: there's gonna be Yeah, it's gonna be peaks and valleys, it's.
- 2:19:02Speaker 1: Gonna be winters, it's gonna be hard times, but you
- 2:19:05Speaker 1: just push through and work hard.
- 2:19:09Speaker 6: But nothing can beat that.
- 2:19:10Speaker 2: Having that education you did always harp that one.
- 2:19:14Speaker 18: Yeah, I love here and four oh one K and
- 2:19:19Speaker 18: put money in it.
- 2:19:23Speaker 1: Smooth, smooth, smooth.
- 2:19:24Speaker 3: I love Derek Zerk has zero motion on his face.
- 2:19:27Speaker 3: He just nod said, I don't.
- 2:19:29Speaker 6: Have headphones on.
- 2:19:31Speaker 1: Oh that's right, Oh, ship, that makes much more sense.
- 2:19:35Speaker 1: I've watched them all this morning, but like, yeah, she's
- 2:19:38Speaker 1: got just like a three second answer put money in
- 2:19:39Speaker 1: the four one K And I just look back at
- 2:19:41Speaker 1: you and you're just still looking down at the computer.
- 2:19:56Speaker 18: How would you describe him as a dad? And does
- 2:19:58Speaker 18: it surprise you?
- 2:19:58Speaker 1: Time out? Time out? Time out? Did your mom have
- 2:20:01Speaker 1: a video on that one?
- 2:20:02Speaker 7: No?
- 2:20:03Speaker 1: Did she not do one for that one?
- 2:20:04Speaker 2: I guess not.
- 2:20:04Speaker 1: Well one in the morning at the again.
- 2:20:06Speaker 2: I was about to say, because I saw how long
- 2:20:09Speaker 2: that video was the last one. Yeah, this is how
- 2:20:12Speaker 2: like she sent them through so in her self, reception
- 2:20:16Speaker 2: at her okay, got your house is terrible. So now
- 2:20:19Speaker 2: I'm thinking through and I'm like, ah, shit, like maybe
- 2:20:23Speaker 2: it's all good. Do you remember the advice I actually wrote?
- 2:20:27Speaker 1: How about you? You could answer that?
- 2:20:28Speaker 2: Okay, I wrote a little thing that I can read
- 2:20:33Speaker 2: at the end that's like a quick little letter to
- 2:20:36Speaker 2: my mom and Jill and the one thing that my
- 2:20:39Speaker 2: mom always hammered into me is never ever quit. She
- 2:20:44Speaker 2: was big on that, like, do not put your head down,
- 2:20:49Speaker 2: do not sulk, do not quit, You power through. If
- 2:20:52Speaker 2: you say you're going to do something, you stick to it.
- 2:20:55Speaker 2: And she was just huge on that, dude, And I
- 2:20:59Speaker 2: like that is one lesson that's still to this day
- 2:21:01Speaker 2: at thirty two years old, I can be like my
- 2:21:04Speaker 2: mom was always saying, no, you told those people that
- 2:21:07Speaker 2: you were going to be at that thing, you go
- 2:21:09Speaker 2: to that thing if you told them that, Mike, And
- 2:21:13Speaker 2: still to this day, Yeah, love it.
- 2:21:17Speaker 1: Now it's seven.
- 2:21:20Speaker 18: How would you describe him as a dad and does
- 2:21:22Speaker 18: it surprise you at all? He expects good behavior from
- 2:21:26Speaker 18: his dog being, but is also loving with him, so
- 2:21:29Speaker 18: that's promising. Great uncle. The kids always loves saying around him.
- 2:21:34Speaker 18: He was always has always loved kids, so it's not
- 2:21:36Speaker 18: surprising at all.
- 2:21:39Speaker 4: The next question about how I see him as a
- 2:21:42Speaker 4: dad and does it surprise me, No, it doesn't surprise
- 2:21:46Speaker 4: me at all that he is an amazing dad and
- 2:21:49Speaker 4: so loving and fun and funny and consistent and keeps
- 2:21:55Speaker 4: her on schedule and Jill is leading the ship.
- 2:21:59Speaker 7: On that is the most amazing mom. But it's so
- 2:22:02Speaker 7: sweet to see them. I'm gonna cry. It's so sweet
- 2:22:06Speaker 7: to see them as a team raising her with so
- 2:22:09Speaker 7: much luck.
- 2:22:11Speaker 1: Thank you mom.
- 2:22:13Speaker 3: Oh, I would have loved to hear Chef's mom break down.
- 2:22:18Speaker 2: What kind of dad?
- 2:22:20Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I didn't know the way the question was worded.
- 2:22:23Speaker 5: I just assumed that one was for you, Sherm, So
- 2:22:25Speaker 5: I just said, hey, we'll just move past.
- 2:22:27Speaker 6: This improper wording on my part.
- 2:22:30Speaker 2: No, this is something that I would.
- 2:22:37Speaker 7: Want y'all to know about Sherman. And Sherman is just
- 2:22:41Speaker 7: like the most badass athlete. He is excelled in sports
- 2:22:47Speaker 7: his whole life, and he just had all these His life.
- 2:22:54Speaker 4: Has kind of been like Forrest Gump, where all these
- 2:22:58Speaker 4: things happen that just don't happen to other people. But
- 2:23:02Speaker 4: he was asked in high school to on the Dallas
- 2:23:06Speaker 4: Cowboy field to come kick a field goal. He never.
- 2:23:12Speaker 7: Practice kicking a filg.
- 2:23:13Speaker 4: On his life, and he had on Van Tenny shoes
- 2:23:17Speaker 4: and he nailed it and won a big check for
- 2:23:20Speaker 4: his high school.
- 2:23:21Speaker 7: So anything, he's like, maham, I'm gonna do a standing
- 2:23:25Speaker 7: back flip at the beach in the thick sand and
- 2:23:28Speaker 7: just nailed it first time. So anything, he always has
- 2:23:33Speaker 7: excelled at sports.
- 2:23:37Speaker 18: On the podcast, he's funny, creative and takes responsibility for
- 2:23:41Speaker 18: his work. But as chill as he seems, you'd never
- 2:23:44Speaker 18: guess he is deathly afraid of spiders.
- 2:23:47Speaker 1: Oh spiders.
- 2:23:48Speaker 17: Know if your colleagues know that your grandfather was a
- 2:23:52Speaker 17: football coach, was a high school football coach for years,
- 2:23:56Speaker 17: very passionate about football. And I know that he's looking
- 2:24:00Speaker 17: down right now and smiling and so happy for you
- 2:24:05Speaker 17: and so exciting because he was just.
- 2:24:10Speaker 7: Passionate about football. This high school, college professional, a Notre Dame,
- 2:24:18Speaker 7: Notre Dame.
- 2:24:19Speaker 1: What kind of football coach was he? You can get
- 2:24:24Speaker 1: the real answer.
- 2:24:25Speaker 7: Oh, he was tough. He was tough.
- 2:24:29Speaker 17: Grabow gym, Midwesterner, Irish Catholic background.
- 2:24:35Speaker 12: I mean I was.
- 2:24:36Speaker 7: I mean, that was my daddy And I was like,
- 2:24:38Speaker 7: he was tough. He was tough. You just did not
- 2:24:41Speaker 7: but he was. But the kids loved him, do you know?
- 2:24:45Speaker 2: He was mean and ship the kids loved him.
- 2:24:48Speaker 17: His pastings came to his funeral and we're like, we
- 2:24:51Speaker 17: loved your dad.
- 2:24:52Speaker 7: He was so hard, he was so tough, but he
- 2:24:54Speaker 7: was just he was kind of like a big teddy
- 2:24:56Speaker 7: bear too.
- 2:24:57Speaker 1: They loved you.
- 2:24:59Speaker 7: I know he's looking Jet, Bro.
- 2:25:04Speaker 2: We need a camera in the handing household. Borrow, dude.
- 2:25:09Speaker 1: Oh, I know he's looking down on Jet.
- 2:25:13Speaker 2: I was so bad that we had all been in
- 2:25:15Speaker 2: person deep for these interviews with our moms. Their little
- 2:25:19Speaker 2: energy is unbelievable.
- 2:25:23Speaker 6: I my entire childhood up until I moved to Nashville,
- 2:25:26Speaker 6: was in a rachnophobe to like a like a bad degree,
- 2:25:30Speaker 6: like a very bad like couldn't be like if I
- 2:25:32Speaker 6: knew they were there, but like it touched me, feel
- 2:25:34Speaker 6: me insects. Anything's like to a degree where I would
- 2:25:37Speaker 6: fight people for trying to put spiders. Oh, oh shit,
- 2:25:40Speaker 6: bad bro, I've gotten. It's funny to see my mom
- 2:25:42Speaker 6: like have these things. Because she brought up something to
- 2:25:45Speaker 6: Kat the other day. She's like, oh, he's a snooper
- 2:25:46Speaker 6: because she's hid in her wedding dress. I'm like, honestly, Mom,
- 2:25:49Speaker 6: I've changed a little bit, which is fun to like
- 2:25:51Speaker 6: explain to her who I am now, because like, spiders
- 2:25:53Speaker 6: don't freak me out as much. I ain't gonna touch them,
- 2:25:55Speaker 6: like they're not there.
- 2:25:56Speaker 1: We can't let we can't let Taylor know these things.
- 2:25:59Speaker 6: No, how him flat out because I'm again, I'm overcoming
- 2:26:03Speaker 6: these fears. But if you guys could not tell him.
- 2:26:04Speaker 1: That'd be cool.
- 2:26:07Speaker 2: I loved her answer too, because of something that I
- 2:26:11Speaker 2: would never imagine of Deeke, truly, a fear of insects,
- 2:26:15Speaker 2: a fear of something like that. I would never think that,
- 2:26:17Speaker 2: for you, Will has stepped off someone.
- 2:26:23Speaker 6: Ever leave this set of a show due to the
- 2:26:25Speaker 6: fact that I don't know what he's gonna bring back.
- 2:26:27Speaker 2: Oh, he's got something good, He's got something very good.
- 2:26:30Speaker 2: But I would never imagine.
- 2:26:35Speaker 6: Okay, well I thought you were going to get you
- 2:26:37Speaker 6: Just look.
- 2:26:39Speaker 2: Where's going to little eight legged freaks?
- 2:26:42Speaker 6: All right? Two more boys? If you can go back
- 2:26:48Speaker 6: and tell yourself one due at the very beginning of motherhood,
- 2:26:50Speaker 6: what would it be.
- 2:26:51Speaker 19: Don't sweat the small stuff, like, don't get anxious and
- 2:26:56Speaker 19: uptight at the little things.
- 2:26:58Speaker 7: Just take it all in and.
- 2:27:02Speaker 17: Don't get so tight at the small things, is what
- 2:27:05Speaker 17: I would.
- 2:27:06Speaker 7: Probably have to say.
- 2:27:10Speaker 1: It's really good advice.
- 2:27:12Speaker 4: Yes, If I could go back and tell myself one thing,
- 2:27:16Speaker 4: it would be to document more and write down. I
- 2:27:19Speaker 4: did write down a lot of funny things they said
- 2:27:21Speaker 4: and did, and kept a record of things that happened.
- 2:27:26Speaker 7: But I wish that I had done more.
- 2:27:28Speaker 4: I wish that I had journaled every single day things
- 2:27:31Speaker 4: that were happening, because they were.
- 2:27:33Speaker 7: Those moments are just so precious.
- 2:27:36Speaker 18: If you could go back and tell yourself one thing
- 2:27:38Speaker 18: at the very beginning of motherhood, what would it be?
- 2:27:42Speaker 18: Everyone always said time flies, and I believe them, but
- 2:27:45Speaker 18: boy does it fly. I try to be present with
- 2:27:48Speaker 18: my kids as much as possible. I would probably say,
- 2:27:51Speaker 18: don't worry so much. They're going to be great human beings.
- 2:27:56Speaker 1: Damn, that's awesome. I love that.
- 2:28:00Speaker 3: And last time, the moms are ripping, they are, they're cooking.
- 2:28:06Speaker 18: What does being a mom actually mean to you? Not
- 2:28:08Speaker 18: the highlight, real version, the real answer. I always knew
- 2:28:12Speaker 18: my mom was here for me no matter what. I
- 2:28:15Speaker 18: want my sons to know, I am here for them always,
- 2:28:19Speaker 18: every day. Anytime.
- 2:28:21Speaker 7: I love you, Derek, it means everything. It was the
- 2:28:26Speaker 7: thing I declared the first week of college. You know,
- 2:28:29Speaker 7: that's what I want to be. I want to be
- 2:28:31Speaker 7: a mom. I wanted to be the kind of mom
- 2:28:37Speaker 7: that I had, and I think that's what.
- 2:28:42Speaker 4: Inspired me just to she was a teacher and she
- 2:28:45Speaker 4: was so patient and kind and fun and funny, and
- 2:28:50Speaker 4: I wanted to pass that down to my sons. And
- 2:28:54Speaker 4: I don't have any regrets when it comes to that
- 2:28:57Speaker 4: department of my life.
- 2:28:58Speaker 7: And I just enjoyed every minute of it. And it's
- 2:29:03Speaker 7: so rewarding to.
- 2:29:05Speaker 4: See it now Sherman being the dad that he is,
- 2:29:09Speaker 4: that those the little things that we did, that he's
- 2:29:12Speaker 4: passing them down and.
- 2:29:15Speaker 7: It's just really sweet. So thank y'all for letting me
- 2:29:18Speaker 7: share with y'all, and Happy Mother's Day everybody.
- 2:29:22Speaker 19: I think unconditional love, having unconditional love, and just trying
- 2:29:28Speaker 19: to be their biggest supporter through the good times and
- 2:29:30Speaker 19: the bad times, especially through the hard times and bad times,
- 2:29:34Speaker 19: and just try to be the.
- 2:29:36Speaker 7: Best support person for.
- 2:29:41Speaker 6: Your your child.
- 2:29:43Speaker 7: And unconditional love. I think that's the best advice.
- 2:29:50Speaker 1: M Bravo, gentlemen, and shut out the moms. Shout out,
- 2:29:55Speaker 1: shut out the moms. Listen to this stuff makes me
- 2:29:58Speaker 1: miss mine a lot, but it's very cool to hear
- 2:30:03Speaker 1: your guys' mom talking, your guys' moms talk about you.
- 2:30:06Speaker 1: Guys a lot of similarities, just you know, highs and lows,
- 2:30:13Speaker 1: being there for you when you fall the unconditional part,
- 2:30:18Speaker 1: you can tell you, guys. His parents are like just
- 2:30:22Speaker 1: like fiercely like love you guys. They're obviously very proud
- 2:30:26Speaker 1: and yeah, man, Happy Mother's Day. Happy, happy Mother's Day,
- 2:30:31Speaker 1: big time.
- 2:30:33Speaker 2: Call your mom's Call your moms.
- 2:30:35Speaker 3: Call your moms, dude, yeah, call your moms.
- 2:30:37Speaker 1: What are you about to pull up?
- 2:30:39Speaker 2: I have a very quick little letter thing. It was
- 2:30:42Speaker 2: like my lesson of the week, and then we're good.
- 2:30:46Speaker 1: Yeah, we give a shout at another again. It's all
- 2:30:49Speaker 1: mother's day, bro.
- 2:30:50Speaker 3: It's all Mother's Day.
- 2:30:52Speaker 1: Let's and shout out the pet sikos, empty sickos, everybody
- 2:30:55Speaker 1: who's been sticking around for this entire episode. Obviously you're
- 2:30:57Speaker 1: gonna have some work on the editing side, chef, but
- 2:31:01Speaker 1: shout out everybody.
- 2:31:02Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure, shout out.
- 2:31:04Speaker 1: Great week for.
- 2:31:04Speaker 2: Moms, Great week for moms. Thank you moms. This is
- 2:31:09Speaker 2: a letter to my mom, and in the same vein
- 2:31:12Speaker 2: of what will said at the top of the show,
- 2:31:14Speaker 2: when we'll just touch it on again, call your mom,
- 2:31:18Speaker 2: tell her happy Mother's Day, or tell your wife how
- 2:31:21Speaker 2: much you appreciate her.
- 2:31:24Speaker 3: I wanted to write a little something to my mom.
- 2:31:26Speaker 2: And to my Wifey. Dear Mom, thank you for absolutely everything.
- 2:31:32Speaker 2: Thank you for all the packed lunches, the backscratches, and
- 2:31:35Speaker 2: the no video games for a month punishments that you
- 2:31:38Speaker 2: didn't budget intron you etched in stone a never ever
- 2:31:42Speaker 2: quit mentality for me that shapes me to this day.
- 2:31:45Speaker 2: Thank you for pouring into me, shoving a camera in
- 2:31:47Speaker 2: my hands and telling me at eight that I could
- 2:31:49Speaker 2: go make a movie in the backyard if I set
- 2:31:51Speaker 2: my mind to it. Thank you for always being my props,
- 2:31:54Speaker 2: wardrobe and locations manager and director on every little thing
- 2:31:57Speaker 2: that I shot at the house. Most importantly, thank you,
- 2:32:00Speaker 2: Thank you for showing me what an incredible woman slash
- 2:32:03Speaker 2: mother looks like. Thank you for showing the same love
- 2:32:07Speaker 2: you have for me to my wife and now my
- 2:32:09Speaker 2: child Scarlet. The whole world could think that I'll fail,
- 2:32:15Speaker 2: and I know that my day, one cheerleader will be
- 2:32:17Speaker 2: in my corner with a rousing speech and it don't
- 2:32:21Speaker 2: quit attitude. I love you, Mom. Dear Jilly Bean, it's
- 2:32:26Speaker 2: your first official mother today. Happy Mother's to Day, Jilly Bean.
- 2:32:31Speaker 2: Your mom set a path in a standard with how
- 2:32:36Speaker 2: she raised you that I know feels daunting at times,
- 2:32:39Speaker 2: but you answer the bell every day when I'm too tired.
- 2:32:43Speaker 2: You're a spark plug. When I want to quit, you
- 2:32:46Speaker 2: urge me to keep pushing, and when I half ask
- 2:32:49Speaker 2: it at home, you call me out. And every bit
- 2:32:51Speaker 2: of that has set me now on a path of
- 2:32:54Speaker 2: fatherhood that I can look back on and forward to
- 2:32:57Speaker 2: and be proud of. I have zero worries of the
- 2:32:59Speaker 2: woman and our darling daughter will grow to be. She
- 2:33:02Speaker 2: now has an amazing mother just like you did, that
- 2:33:04Speaker 2: will hold a standard and show her a path that
- 2:33:06Speaker 2: one day will seem daunting to her. But I know,
- 2:33:10Speaker 2: just like you, that she will answer the bell. I
- 2:33:13Speaker 2: love you.
- 2:33:13Speaker 3: Happy Mother's Day.
- 2:33:15Speaker 1: Beautifully said bro. Thank you well written.
- 2:33:18Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 2:33:20Speaker 1: Gentlemen.
- 2:33:20Speaker 5: Any Yeah, I'll be quick to Mom.
- 2:33:26Speaker 1: I know you're listening to this.
- 2:33:27Speaker 5: I love you so much. I loved what you said
- 2:33:30Speaker 5: about the unconditional part. I've put you through all there's
- 2:33:33Speaker 5: so much hell, and you've been there every single step
- 2:33:36Speaker 5: of the way, through all the really really bad and
- 2:33:38Speaker 5: all the really really good, and so just know it
- 2:33:41Speaker 5: means a lot. Love you so much.
- 2:33:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:33:45Speaker 6: I mean, my mom's awesome. She's my best friend. I
- 2:33:48Speaker 6: miss her every day. I call her every day, thank
- 2:33:50Speaker 6: you for everything. It's been so hard down here without family,
- 2:33:55Speaker 6: and at the same time like talking to her and
- 2:33:57Speaker 6: being chill with her. It's such a beautiful relationship. Through
- 2:34:00Speaker 6: Trace said like he loves to get a drink with
- 2:34:02Speaker 6: his to get a drink with his mom. Like drink
- 2:34:03Speaker 6: with my mom is the best thing ever. I get
- 2:34:05Speaker 6: ripped so hard cracking a bottle of wine. I love
- 2:34:10Speaker 6: them and I wouldn't be here without you. And if
- 2:34:13Speaker 6: the world had our moms, it'd be a better place.
- 2:34:15Speaker 6: It's really cool to be on the show with moms
- 2:34:17Speaker 6: that rip as hard as the kids do.
- 2:34:19Speaker 1: So love you. Yeah, Happy Mother's Day.
- 2:34:25Speaker 13: To my mom.
- 2:34:26Speaker 1: I the way that you parented me growing up helped
- 2:34:35Speaker 1: me articulate and kind of curate the type of parent
- 2:34:40Speaker 1: and dad that I want to be with my daughters.
- 2:34:43Speaker 1: And just again like it wasn't always easy in our household,
- 2:34:50Speaker 1: but the toughness, resilience, intentionality, being fierce and just fucking
- 2:34:57Speaker 1: doing the work at all times running on e I
- 2:35:00Speaker 1: realized that now way more than I did when it
- 2:35:03Speaker 1: was happening. I miss you dearly, and you would have
- 2:35:09Speaker 1: been a You would have been an incredible grandmother. I
- 2:35:12Speaker 1: know you were so excited. I miss all the ship
- 2:35:16Speaker 1: man and happy Mother's Day. I always had this running
- 2:35:20Speaker 1: joke like it would be Mother's Day, we'd go out
- 2:35:22Speaker 1: to eat, and I would just always make the joke
- 2:35:24Speaker 1: when the time comes, I'm going to put you in
- 2:35:26Speaker 1: the home.
- 2:35:28Speaker 13: And uh.
- 2:35:29Speaker 3: I wish I could still say those things to you,
- 2:35:31Speaker 3: and UH to my wife.
- 2:35:33Speaker 1: Charle, you are You're everything. Adventure, communication are areas where
- 2:35:42Speaker 1: I feel like I have uncomfortably grown in because of you.
- 2:35:48Speaker 1: Because you love to see the world, you love to travel.
- 2:35:50Speaker 1: You were the first one to get me to do
- 2:35:52Speaker 1: a vacation longer than four days, and to plan and
- 2:35:57Speaker 1: to think ahead. And you teach me so many things
- 2:36:01Speaker 1: that in the moment are very hard for myself because
- 2:36:05Speaker 1: of how I've been, how I've been conditioned in my
- 2:36:09Speaker 1: own right, just as a as a man, and even communication,
- 2:36:13Speaker 1: like hard conversations, the highs and lows, being there when
- 2:36:18Speaker 1: I fall, sitting and shit with me, teaching me how
- 2:36:23Speaker 1: to communicate. It's helped me. The way that you have
- 2:36:26Speaker 1: loved me resembles that it's been the most love I've
- 2:36:32Speaker 1: ever really felt since my mom, and it's helped me
- 2:36:37Speaker 1: love other people because I see the way you love me,
- 2:36:40Speaker 1: the way you love our girls, the way you love
- 2:36:43Speaker 1: the people in your life has helped me become a
- 2:36:46Speaker 1: much better version of myself. And I know I am
- 2:36:50Speaker 1: far from perfect and feel very undeserving at times for
- 2:36:54Speaker 1: your love, but everything that both of these women have
- 2:36:58Speaker 1: collectively taught me, I love you, guys, and Happy Mother's Day,
- 2:37:06Speaker 1: and I promise I will find a way to get
- 2:37:10Speaker 1: us this picnic because charl loves going on picnics during
- 2:37:13Speaker 1: Mother's Day. We don't get to because we were driving
- 2:37:15Speaker 1: back from Missouri this weekend. But yeah, man, Happy Mother's
- 2:37:20Speaker 1: Day to all of the moms. The work that goes unseen,
- 2:37:24Speaker 1: that is invisible, that has not felt in the moment,
- 2:37:27Speaker 1: and when perspective hits us all, we all realize how
- 2:37:29Speaker 1: much you guys all mean to us and how grateful
- 2:37:32Speaker 1: we all we all are for you guys.
- 2:37:35Speaker 3: And I hope you guys have a tremendous Mother's Day.
- 2:37:37Speaker 3: Papa Team six man, roll out the red.
- 2:37:41Speaker 2: Carpet, Roll it out man. Earn that golf trip.
- 2:37:44Speaker 3: Earn the golf trip, Earn all the fun stuff we're
- 2:37:46Speaker 3: talking about.
- 2:37:48Speaker 1: Earn all the fun stuff we talk about.
- 2:37:51Speaker 2: Love you fellas, love you guys, love you moms.
- 2:37:57Speaker 1: Take out the trash. See you guys next week.
