Transcript
- 0:22All right, hey, Sam here from Dragon Force, your favorite power metal
- 0:25band, looking more handsome than I usually do because of the new zoom settings.
- 0:30So there you go. Yeah, we got a new album coming out
- 0:35called Warp Speed Warriors, because that's what we are. We're warriors that go
- 0:38at warp speed. And it's coming out pretty soon. I think it's thirty
- 0:43first to March. You might have to correct me on that quest. You
- 0:45probably know more than I've got fifteenth March. Yeah, all right, well,
- 0:48show as much I do. Spent four years working on it and I
- 0:51don't even know the release date. Thanks for joining us, Sam. Ye,
- 0:57yep, no worries anytime. I think the filter you're talking about,
- 1:00it's just it's called a beanie, mate, It's a beanie. Yeah.
- 1:03Yeah, Well, I hope you didn't notice that I brushed the rest of
- 1:07my hair especially for you. Oh I did like the last three strains you've
- 1:11got left over. I like it, Yeah, exactly, Yeah, I
- 1:14better have three than none shape for you. Even then, I thought,
- 1:17oh fuck that, Well, that's the thing everyone always says to me,
- 1:23why don't you just cut it off? And I'm like, well, I
- 1:25think I look better with a beanie and some hair than no beanie and no
- 1:27hair, so I'll keep it, thank you very much. You look like
- 1:30a full criminal with a beanie with hair with a beanie, No, you
- 1:33look like a half try had criminals, So keep the full one going.
- 1:37Yeah, yeah, there you go. I'm an out of date. I'm
- 1:41a two thousand and six metal core musician. Jesus. We'll move on from
- 1:46that one real quick. So Dragon Force releasing your album Warp Speed Warriors on
- 1:53March fifteenth. Bro, So, how you feel about it? Great?
- 1:57Actually, yeah, I really like it. It's funny because I mean like
- 1:59it every band always says, oh, we're just so happy to finish it
- 2:01because we went working on it for ages. But it was definitely the case.
- 2:05I mean, but I started doing working on that right when Lockdown started,
- 2:09which is a long time ago. I think it was like two thousand
- 2:13and February twenty twenty. Is that when everyone kind of went home and yeah,
- 2:19so yeah, well you're anyways, But yeah, I mean, because
- 2:24we had so much time to work on it, I just sort of worked
- 2:29on it very slowly, and in the end, unfortunately, I ended up
- 2:30getting a bit sick of all I just heard it to death, and I
- 2:34could never I never got an end to it because I was just like,
- 2:37oh, I can improve this one and improve that one, and so I
- 2:39just carried on like never, never stopping because normally it's good to have a
- 2:43deadline and you finish your album and you go, right, that's that.
- 2:46That's what it is. But I had so much time to keep improving things
- 2:50and whatever, which was as nice as well, but it was also kind
- 2:53of a pain in the ass. So now that it's finished, I haven't
- 2:55I haven't listened to it for like the last few months, and then I
- 2:59put it The other day when the first Astro Warriors Anthemus song came out of
- 3:02the day and I saw the video, I was like, oh, I
- 3:05can finally actually enjoy this song for what it is instead of going, oh
- 3:08it was a little bit there. I want to change, but they I
- 3:09want to change, And actually that chorus of that song was different. It's
- 3:15a bit of a nerdy musician's backs for you, but yeah, I changed
- 3:19the chorus of that like probably only two months before the end, before we
- 3:23finished the album, and before that it was a different course which I didn't
- 3:27think was as good, and it was just annoying me for like three years.
- 3:30It's almost amazing, but not quite. And I was like, you
- 3:32know what, I'm just having to get to Bennett and start again. I
- 3:36kept trying to adjust it and and but yeah, in the end it turned
- 3:39out good. So long way long answers to say that, yes, I
- 3:43do like our album and it's more heavy and more melodic than all the other
- 3:46ones. Yeah, that line, it's actually like I'd love to say one
- 3:52day, it's actually lighter and less melodic, but that's not really true.
- 3:59True, So along those lines making you dive a bit deeper into it musically
- 4:03for us and what you're going for, Like, is it what bands that
- 4:06expect from Dragon Force? Yeah, for sure. And I think, well,
- 4:11we released the first two songs, Power of the Try Force, which
- 4:13is like songs are about Zelda and stuff because we all like that game.
- 4:17And then we released Doomsday Party, which you'll come there. Both a little
- 4:20bit different for us. And but you know it's like people, we had
- 4:24a few people get, oh, well, that doesn't sound like Dragon Force,
- 4:27but it's like if we release another two hundred bpm song, which is
- 4:30that kind of standard Dragon Force style, everyone goes on the same as the
- 4:33anything else, so you honestly can't win. But I mean means how much
- 4:36you care about people's reading comments on YouTube. I mean I still read them
- 4:41because you want to boost your ego and feel good that you Not everyone,
- 4:46but everyone does. Anyone that says they don't read them full of shit,
- 4:48So but yeah, it's it's definitely. I think it's like with all our
- 4:55albums, we always try and just keep keep our same style because obviously we
- 5:00actually like playing that style as the main reason. I mean, I still
- 5:03love playing fast two hundred bpm Power Medal even after twenty years. I'm still
- 5:08like my favorite kind of music. And then and we'll try and check a
- 5:12few other things and just to not be you know, our first two albums,
- 5:15every single song was fast. But at that point I had never written
- 5:19fast Power Medal song before, so I had a million ideas and I wanted
- 5:24them to be fast. So you know, now twenty years later, I
- 5:27don't mind throwing in a mid tempost song like Power, the Triy Force or
- 5:30the Dooms They Party. We got one other slower one, which is but
- 5:34they're still heavy. So it's just like all about keeping ourselves happy, which
- 5:39was at the end of the day the reason you do music. And also,
- 5:43but you do want to keep your fan base in mind too. I
- 5:45mean, if I wanted to go and do a jazz project or something,
- 5:47I wouldn't force it into dragon force, so I'd just go and do that
- 5:50on something on the side. So you know, I think, I think
- 5:55we like it, and I think bands should like it too, And if
- 5:58they don't, well they can isn't it something else? Chumping off subject?
- 6:04But they don't know again if they don't, If they don't like it,
- 6:06we're very sorry. But we tried our best to keep your mind happy.
- 6:10And if you're still not happy and well, you can go to something else.
- 6:14Jump it off subject for a bit, mate. If you did start
- 6:16a jazz side band, what would you call it? Well, to be
- 6:20fair, jazz is one of my least favorite sorts of music, so probably
- 6:25more chance to me starting a barbershop quartet than that. Now, the press
- 6:35release calls Warp Speed Warriors your most ambitious and innovative full length so far.
- 6:41Would do you agree with that? Yeah? Of course, because you have
- 6:45to agree with your press release. I didn't write it. Yeah, No,
- 6:49Well, I mean we tried. I honestly think when people say what's
- 6:55your favorite album, man, I like them more equally because at the time
- 6:58we released them, that was the absolute yes we could do and that's the
- 7:00same with this one. So I mean, there's definitely but I really think
- 7:04that that all. I mean. Obviously you can't say, well, it's
- 7:09our second most innovative or so, but I just think that, like every
- 7:16album we've always, like I said in that previous answer, we were trying
- 7:19people the original things that people like about Draion Force and what we like about
- 7:23it, and bringing a bunch of new stuff too, which is what we've
- 7:28done here as well. So there's definitely stuff we've never done before, which
- 7:30is I think if you don't at least do some things you've never done before,
- 7:34then it's kind of boring. So yes, I fully agree with our
- 7:39press release, I could still elaborate on that a bit more. For us,
- 7:42through the things that you've never done before, what are they m I
- 7:47mean, it can be really simple stuff like for example, Power of the
- 7:51Try Force. It's a two hundred bpm song with a four to four drum
- 7:56beat, which is something we've never done before. But say that simple thing
- 8:01it dictates how the rest of the song is going to sound. So we
- 8:05haven't got any songs at that. The first thing I always do when I'm
- 8:09trying to write a song, I actually decide on the drum beat before anything
- 8:13else because that obviously makes a huge difference to how the song's going to sound
- 8:16overall. So and that was so even something that sounds like, oh,
- 8:22we did a new drum beat, which is like the most four to four
- 8:26drum beat, which is the most standard, unoriginal drum beat in music.
- 8:31But it's also something we've never done before, so you know, and now
- 8:35we've got a song that sounds quite different to all the others. So things
- 8:37like that, you know. I mean, when it comes to you know,
- 8:41lead guitars and solos, I'm always trying to like just do a few
- 8:45new licks or something they haven't done in the past. Same with her,
- 8:46and I know he's doing the same thing, just to keep it interesting.
- 8:48And you can play your own you know, we've been playing a long time,
- 8:52so it's quite easy to just you've got your kind of bag full of
- 8:56tricks that you can use. But it's good to just to always try and
- 9:00learn some new ones and change it around a bit so so that stuff too.
- 9:03There's I think like middle sections of songs as that's where we sort of
- 9:07try and experiment more so. I know, for example, any middle section
- 9:11of any song. You might find something in the middle of Vestro Wor's anthem,
- 9:16for example, there's a kind of I can't want to sting it to
- 9:20you, but yeah, it's like a middle section and a different sort of
- 9:22tempo, a bit of different, feels like a bit less, it's a
- 9:26bit more chromatic sounding, if that makes sense, and then it kind of
- 9:31goes into yeah, I don't know, you've got to listen to It's hard
- 9:33to explain music in words now. Looking through the film, it's like they
- 9:39seem to have a massive sci fi element to them, So is what Speed
- 9:43Warrior is a sci fi concept album? I wouldn't say it's a concept album.
- 9:46It's more in the same way. I was thinking about this actually too,
- 9:50because I thought, well, I mean, everything on there we like,
- 9:54but I thought, well, when you think about I had made it
- 9:56in Power Slave, for example, you think, God, it's an Egyptian
- 9:58themed album, but it's actually not. The songs about World War two,
- 10:01the song's about like, what's the one about the sword fighting, the duellist
- 10:05or whatever. So actually, if you think about it, and then there's
- 10:07two Minutes to Midnight. And actually, even though that cover art makes you
- 10:11think it's an Egyptian concept and there you know, Live After Death Tour was
- 10:16that too. Actually, all the songs on the album are quite different and
- 10:18about different topics, and I think that's kind of what we wanted to go
- 10:24for with this. And in the same way as the previous album, it's
- 10:26we've got this. We've kind of found sort of niche in the video game
- 10:31stuff and we love all those kind of themes and concepts and imagery, and
- 10:35same with sci fi. So there's a couple of sci fi songs, that's
- 10:39a couple of songs that aren't sci fi, and there's there's a bit of
- 10:41a mixture. But I mean as far as the when you say that sci
- 10:45fi concept, I mean, yeah, I guess you could say the artwork
- 10:48is kind of sci fi, but at the same time it's also like it
- 10:50it's inspired by the old beat them up games from like the Arcades and in
- 10:56the eighties and nineties. So yeah, I mean the sci fi in there,
- 11:00but it's not a concept album. Shame because I reckon you look fantastic
- 11:05as an alien. Bro, We're a full face mask, because that's what
- 11:09you're trying to say. Take that over you will. The album was produced,
- 11:16mix and mastered and mixed Unlimited, with yourself and Herman le helping out.
- 11:20So what are some of the advantages and disadvantages of doing that process with
- 11:24people in the band. Well, it's good to you bounce ideas off each
- 11:30other. Obviously there's a lot of things. I mean, I'm doing most
- 11:35of the music writing, but I'm not actually into stuff like technical stuff,
- 11:41like I've always left all spining guitar sounds, gear and anything gear related.
- 11:46Herman's much better than I am, so we kind of need each other to
- 11:50to to get to the final result of the album, and so that's the
- 11:54point. I mean, happy to write stuff on my own, but then
- 11:58when it comes to mixing it, I'm actually leaving it more to Herman and
- 12:01Damien. So I mean, obviously I need to like it too, but
- 12:05from all that past downs, I always do like what they come up with,
- 12:09so I'm pretty confident that I like it. But as far as it's
- 12:13more and more about balancing instruments and stuff where I haven't them put you know,
- 12:16I've written some guitar line that I really like and they're trying to bury
- 12:20it with something else. Then I'll be like, bring that back, please.
- 12:24So but yeah, it's definitely good to have all three of us.
- 12:26And sometimes we'll yeah, just you might. We have quite a democratic way
- 12:33of doing things with two people think something is good, then we'll be like,
- 12:35okay, well it must be good, so the other person has to
- 12:37kind of agree. Most of the time that works, and it's quite a
- 12:41good system. Actually. Yeah, You're also got a cover of Wildest Dream
- 12:46by Taylers Swift on the album. Like, was that your choice? No,
- 12:50it wasn't. Actually that was came from Herman, which is so I
- 12:54said, Oh, I wanted to do something for my generation. I was
- 12:56like, yeah, Taylor Swift's obviously from the younger generation and I'm an old
- 13:01bastard. But uh, but yeah, Herman. I think the story Herman
- 13:05told me because I was saying, what, you don't like Tyler Swift,
- 13:09so what are we do that for? And he was go, no,
- 13:11no, it's quite good. He had he had a daughter about four years
- 13:13ago, and apparently that was the only thing he could play to get her
- 13:16to go to sleep. So he ended up knowing a load of Taylor Swift
- 13:20songs and he was like, oh, they're not too bad. Actually,
- 13:22so and so he was like, I'll pick a Taylor Swift song and we'll
- 13:26turn into a dragon fall as well. I was like, all right,
- 13:28and I had so I had to listen to a few of them, and
- 13:31I thought that one was kind of catchy. Actually, I thought, well,
- 13:35it's that it's got quite a catchy melody, and I felt like that
- 13:37could be turned into a fast, power metal song without too much trouble.
- 13:43So there it is, There you go. You also featured bour Bonus tracks
- 13:48with Matfi need to Throuse a Lisa White Glues and at least I can't even
- 13:52say it last name? Is it read? Well? I always thought it
- 13:56was rid, but apparently she told me it's I probably I probably get wrong.
- 14:00I think it's like rude or some weird Swedish pronunciation, but she told
- 14:03me it's rude or something like that. And now that was about three years
- 14:07ago she told me that, So I've kind of forgot again to get an
- 14:09updated How have you pronounced that? She's on there? It's a different way
- 14:15to do it actually, like you've got the songs that have got guest artists
- 14:18are actually all bonus tracks on the album. It's I don't think I've seen
- 14:20a band do that before, but it's an interesting way to do it.
- 14:24Yeah. Well, I think it's kind of cool because it's like I always
- 14:28thought, like, as far as having guests, well, I feel like
- 14:33sometimes as a fan, like I would like to hear the song with only
- 14:37the yea. If you don't like the guests, then it's kind of a
- 14:41bit of a waste of a song for some people, you know what I
- 14:43mean. Like if I heard Metallica or whoever I like do a song with
- 14:46a guest I don't like, then I'd be like, oh, she just
- 14:50sang it all himself. So so it kind of it's almost like giving something
- 14:56to everyone. You know, I love all the songs with the guest versions,
- 14:58but you know, we want people to hear the people that want to
- 15:01hear just Mark then that's and I'm one of those people. I like to
- 15:05hear the whole song with just Mark too, So it's almost like, yeah,
- 15:09just covering all the bases and giving something for everyone, And it's cool
- 15:13to hear two versions of it too, I think, all right, Just
- 15:15to clarify on that, because I didn't pick it up the first time.
- 15:16The actual bonus songs with the guest starters are songs on the album just redone
- 15:22with the guest startists. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, it's like you get
- 15:24two versions, you get two of the price of one. Well, I
- 15:26think, yeah, unless the bonus that it costs more and you don't get
- 15:31two of the price of one, and you get two the price of whatever
- 15:33it is. The great idea was that one? You were idea? No,
- 15:37No, that was Herman's idea. Like I said, he takes care
- 15:43of all these kind of things. I just write them songs and hope they
- 15:46sound okay. Now, Dragon Force has got a reputation of being the world's
- 15:50fastest band mate, Like, is that something you try to live up to
- 15:54and writing an album or do you keep that in the back of your mind
- 15:56and you've gotta gotta be that band? I mean to be honest, we
- 16:00just write music that we like and that's all you can do. I mean,
- 16:03I could turn my start, I could. I mean, I've tried
- 16:07before, I said I did a long time ago. We did a song
- 16:11called the Game, which was at two forty bpm, which was the fastest
- 16:15we ever did. Most of our standard songs like Through the Fire and Flames
- 16:19that there's like like they're all two hundred bpm. If you're musical at all,
- 16:26I spell it basically means that's how fast a normal Dragon Force song is.
- 16:32So so I did one at two forty, which was actually I kind
- 16:37of I was interested to know how fast all the old thrash bands I used
- 16:40to like, like Cemlature and Slayer and Creator. I thought, I wonder
- 16:44what to speed there fastest was because it seemed like it was a bit faster
- 16:47than us. So I listened to like I think it was Beneath the Remains
- 16:51or something, and it was like two hundred and forty bpm. I was
- 16:53like, oh, okay, we can't have that. I'll have to like
- 16:56So that was a specific point to go as fast as you could and and
- 17:00then and that works, But I just felt like it wasn't the best speed
- 17:04for our cow Midal music. It worked for that song, I wouldn't want
- 17:08to do it all day long. I still think two hundred is better for
- 17:11most of our stuff. So so we didn't try it and but now I
- 17:15mean, yeah, like I said, I just like write write songs that
- 17:18I think sound good, and it's not so much trying to be as fast
- 17:22as possible. What we happen to like playing fast. So if we're still
- 17:26faster than everyone else, then that's good. So you're having to recognized rightfully
- 17:33recognized as to the best guitarists out there. Mate, But you is write
- 17:36like when you write an album, right, do you play each other's solos?
- 17:40You're right? Or do you just write guitar parts for yourself or like
- 17:42when you write southing Herman does and vice versa. Yeah, well it kind
- 17:47of depends because there's a lot of double harmony parts on the album, a
- 17:51lot of all all the all the leads that are not actually a guitar solo
- 17:56are like harmonized. So I'm playing all that on the on the our them
- 18:00and writing them. But then when we come to the gigs then obviously Herman
- 18:03has to learn one half of that, and then a lot of our actual
- 18:07guitar solos are also harmonized, so we have to learn each other's solos to
- 18:11do that too, which is quite It can be quite difficult because you're learning
- 18:15someone else's technique. So and it's the funny thing is is actually, over
- 18:21the years, if you listen to our two styles, they've actually kind of
- 18:26come more similar, just because we've had to learn each other's techniques over the
- 18:30years. So we do try to to not be similar. Like sometimes I'll
- 18:34play something and he'll be like, oh, can you change that sounds too
- 18:37much like my play, And I'd say the same thing to him. I
- 18:41was like, I already did that on the solo just before, so can
- 18:42you do nothing else? And so, yeah, that's kind of funny how
- 18:48it's evolved over the years. But yeah, I mean we we always get
- 18:52on, well, pick the parts that are to our strengths or whatever.
- 18:56Sometimes I always used to say, well, I want to play the lead
- 19:00heart and you can play the harmony I wrote it or whatever. But then
- 19:03sometimes it might be something that he actually plays not more nicely live, so
- 19:07I'll be all right, you can do that. So it's more difficult to
- 19:11learn the harmony part because it's all like off where you would expect it to
- 19:14be on the guitar. So that's something we've always kind of like complained to
- 19:18each other about. But it's all good fun. I want to take you
- 19:23back to the time a bit Bri like you and Herman started Dragging Force back
- 19:26in nineteen ninety nine. So what was that musical climate like that gave birth
- 19:30to the band and where did you fit in it? Initially? Well,
- 19:33the funny thing was we just wanted to. We had never started the band
- 19:37thinking that we would like make him living around of it or anything like that.
- 19:41We just did it because we really loved the music. And actually we
- 19:47I don't think we when we first started. We sort of the bands that
- 19:51I liked that we were I was listening to. We almost felt like we'd
- 19:55missed the boat a bit because I was listening to Stratavarius and Raps and e
- 19:59stuff like that back in ninety nine and they had already kind of it's hard
- 20:03to say, but I felt that they'd already sort of reached their peak and
- 20:07they were and now they were all on sort of their third album and stuff,
- 20:11and I thought, well, we're kind of like a bit behind.
- 20:14And I didn't even though we were trying to do something new. I was
- 20:17trying to take that music and put us like a new fresh touch on it
- 20:21by making everything much faster and adding like a lot of more extreme stuff.
- 20:25You know, we were doing blast beats and power metal, and we had
- 20:27like death metal vocals and stuff which no one had really done and that kind
- 20:32of thing. So I think it's almost like we didn't appreciate that we were
- 20:37doing something that was quite different, even though we did. It's hard to
- 20:41explain, but so we didn't really felt like we did for things. We
- 20:45were trying to like do something like more than the bands that we were listening
- 20:49to were, but we weren't really sure if anyone would like it or not,
- 20:52because we thought were the only people that are going to like this.
- 20:53Again it we just sort of power metal fans. But then actually we found
- 20:57that we got a whole new wave of fans that weren't necessarily powered or fans
- 21:03in the beginning, so and it kind of took off like that, which
- 21:07we never would have expected. You know, we had all these people like
- 21:10that. We basically just got a lot of people liking us that we wouldn't
- 21:12have expected to like us. So it turned out pretty well. Actually,
- 21:18it's fair to say that you have gone on to be one of the biggest
- 21:19bands in the world made so at what point did you sort of sit back
- 21:23and go, yeah, I think we're going to be able to do this
- 21:26for a living. Well, I never take anything for granted, you know,
- 21:30you never know, like when people won't like you anymore. But thankfully
- 21:33we've still going twenty years later and making a decent living out it. So
- 21:37it's been amazing. I couldn't. I always tell people I feel so lucky
- 21:41that I got to do this and not have to get a job. My
- 21:45main goal when I was twenty five or whatever was to not well, actually
- 21:48know, my main goal when I was eighteen was to not get a job,
- 21:51and so pretty much only they have only worked a normal job like about
- 21:56three or four years of my life, so I really cannot complain at all.
- 22:00It's amazing. And but yeah, I think it was about two thousand
- 22:03and maybe two thousand and five or six. I think that was when I
- 22:11first got a decent paycheck and I was like, okay, well I won't
- 22:15go to work. I didn't have a job in anyway, but I was
- 22:17trying to get one, so I was like, well I won't bother then.
- 22:19So yeah, since then, it's been great. How would you say
- 22:25that being sound has grown and changed from your debut Valley the Damned in two
- 22:29thousand and three two Warp Speed Warriors. I think I think we've all got
- 22:37better as musicians obviously, and we've changed a few musicians over the years,
- 22:41but I mean as far as I mean, I'm still kind of when I
- 22:45listened back to like those first two albums, I feel like it's it's definitely
- 22:52a bit simpler, like all my songwriting, especially it was it was a
- 22:55bit more basic. But uh, I think it's I don't think we've changed
- 23:00as much as a lot of bands. I feel like we've fit more into
- 23:03say the Slayer category. I was, who had like stayed the same,
- 23:07but we're still putting out quality material rather than say Metallica category, who like
- 23:14changed a lot and like put out however you feel about the material. But
- 23:19yeah, but yeah, I feel like I feel like we beause I always
- 23:22thought, well, there's two parts you can take. You can either change
- 23:26all the time, and that works great for some bands, you know,
- 23:27like something like I've watched Bringley Horizon. They've done great, They've changed quite
- 23:33a bit over the years, but it's always got bigger everything that they've done,
- 23:36and so it definitely works for some people. But then I also saw
- 23:40Slayer and saw that they you know, they stayed on top of their game
- 23:42by kind of just sticking to the same style but doing it well. And
- 23:48I think personally, I mean it was not we don't plan things like in
- 23:51a business sense. Obviously, you still play music for your own entertainment and
- 23:56pleasure. But but I think I'd like to think that our albums now are
- 24:03just as good, quality of not better than they were in the beginning,
- 24:04which I don't think. I think it's quite a hard thing to do when
- 24:08I listen to bands that I've been a fan of for twenty years, you
- 24:11know, quality of their albums. This is like in all styles of music,
- 24:15by the way, like a lot of bands, quality goes up and
- 24:18down or side the side or whatever. But without blowing own trumpet, I
- 24:22think we're pretty great. I'll second that notion. Brother, You've got a
- 24:29tour coming up with Amaranthe and Infected Rainway, where's that going to? And
- 24:33where can people get tickets? That's going around Europe and UK starts in a
- 24:40week actually, so I need to stay that's right, Yeah, Yeah,
- 24:47that's correct, And yeah, I guess they could look up the dates on
- 24:49the internet. Everyone's that these days instead of me rattling them off. But
- 24:56yeah, no, that's going to be a good thought. It should be
- 24:57fun. We just tour with them around and in the States, and we
- 25:02all has a great time. It's a good, good package. I think
- 25:03it's our music's like it's different, but it's also I think the same.
- 25:08If you like one, you should like the other. You know, it's
- 25:11not not not two kind of. And all three have got new albums out
- 25:14or coming out too, and they're all fucking good albums. So that's another
- 25:17reason. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah, And I mean I've
- 25:19loved him around for like since their first album. Actually, I remember we
- 25:22were in the studio, I think recording probably we're probably recording either in Human
- 25:27Rampage or Sonic fast Orm and old keyboard player Verdem I think he found it
- 25:33and he's like, man, you listen to this, it's amazing, and
- 25:34I brought it in and then we all loved it. Yeah, we've been
- 25:37listening to it since then. So we never told with them before, which
- 25:41was quite weird because we've known them for years and we always It's one of
- 25:44those things that you just just never happened. Now we're doing two tours.
- 25:51I'd be sure if I didn't last rade. But as you look at it,
- 25:52bringing the tour over to Australia eventually, I don't know. The thing
- 25:59is like, we would love to come back there, but it's not really
- 26:02It's that's something that's more up to you know, all the people that are
- 26:06not me promoter as booking agents like Herman takes care of a lot of that
- 26:10stuff. So but I know that I've heard some talk about it, So
- 26:14I mean, I think i'd like to think what happened, because it's been
- 26:17a long time since we were there, and you know we did. We
- 26:18always have a great time there. So I can't give you any thing for
- 26:23sure, but I know that I've definitely heard some talk about it, and
- 26:26we as a band, we would love to so we've said to see what
- 26:30happens. Yeah, I think it's important to point out to you it's a
- 26:33lot of Australian people in Australia quite off and go on and about the fact
- 26:36that you haven't tried here for a long time. But what they don't realize
- 26:38is that your your stage show is that immense and it's got that much going
- 26:44on with it, Like for you to bring your whole stage show over here,
- 26:45it's going to cost a lot of money, and you don't want to
- 26:48show our half ass and leave it all behind. So he's stuck in a
- 26:51bit of a conundrum. That's very true. Yeah, that's the thing is
- 26:53we want to like that stage. Like you said, it's changed so much
- 26:57over the last sort of five years or so, and like and if we
- 27:00want to we want to show people what we can really do now with it,
- 27:03with the whole package. And uh, and yeah, like you said,
- 27:07it's just a matter of it's a bit more logistics than the old days.
- 27:08You know, in the old days, we just jump on the plane
- 27:11with the suitcase and a guitar and off you go. But yeah, we
- 27:15could still do that. And I mean, I know a lot of people
- 27:19maybe don't care about seeing a big, fancy stage show, but you know,
- 27:22we as a band, you want to do your best you can,
- 27:26whether it's musically or or stage show and everything like that. So we're going
- 27:30to we're trying to work. We're working on it though, for sure.
- 27:33I mean I'm really keen to find a way to make it happen not and
- 27:37and I think herman is too. So yeah, well we'll keep you posted
- 27:41and you'll be the first to know. Yeah all right, bro, Well,
- 27:44thanks very much for your time made. Warp Speed Warrior is out Muster
- 27:47fifteenth and she's a cracker of an album as you would expect, and thanks
- 27:51for taking the time to join us. Fin anytime there's a pleasure stas get
