- 0:25Speaker 1: Julie Boyett ritual back on the podcast.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Thanks for inviting me back on.
- 0:30Speaker 1: We're long overdue for a conversation.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Well, I'm glad you think so. I've been wondering when
- 0:37Speaker 3: you were going to invite me back. Now I'm kidding.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Well, we've been sharing conversations from our retreats, that's true.
- 0:43Speaker 1: So you've made appearances on the show in that regard,
- 0:46Speaker 1: but it's been a while since we did a formal,
- 0:49Speaker 1: proper one at home.
- 0:50Speaker 2: This is true.
- 0:52Speaker 1: So the way this usually goes is I approached Julia
- 0:56Speaker 1: a couple of days before our scheduled appointment, and I say,
- 1:00Speaker 1: let's talk about what we're going to talk about, and
- 1:02Speaker 1: you go yeah, yeah yeah, and I go yeah yeah yeah,
- 1:04Speaker 1: and then we never do it, and then we sit
- 1:06Speaker 1: down and we just roll.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Usually, so that's usually preceded.
- 1:11Speaker 3: By a small spat argument of energy of you wanting
- 1:17Speaker 3: it to be figured out and me wanting to let
- 1:19Speaker 3: it go.
- 1:19Speaker 1: That's the typical that's the typical cycle that we're on.
- 1:23Speaker 3: But I think we're experiencing some deep evolution because there
- 1:26Speaker 3: was none of that this time.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I'm letting go.
- 1:28Speaker 2: You are beautifully trying to grow.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Well, I'm moving in your direction? Are you moving in mind?
- 1:33Speaker 2: I think so. I was actually feeling like I wanted
- 1:35Speaker 2: some structure you did.
- 1:37Speaker 1: What were you thinking?
- 1:38Speaker 2: I don't know. I was just waiting for the inspiration.
- 1:40Speaker 1: But well, let's kind of launch into this with one thought,
- 1:45Speaker 1: which is we are coming off of an incredible energy
- 1:51Speaker 1: output over the last six to nine months. Pushing books
- 1:56Speaker 1: out into the world, retreats, speaking engagements, ramping up the podcast, like,
- 2:04Speaker 1: all of these things have been amazing experiences that have
- 2:12Speaker 1: really enhanced our lives, I think, and helped us to
- 2:17Speaker 1: connect with a lot of people in a meaningful way.
- 2:20Speaker 1: But it's a lot of energy, and I found myself
- 2:22Speaker 1: to be burned out is not the right word, but
- 2:28Speaker 1: definitely spread too thin and a little bit more exhausted
- 2:34Speaker 1: than I would like.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Well, I think that really, if you characterize it really
- 2:38Speaker 3: correctly or more authentically, it's really when this entire journey
- 2:43Speaker 3: of wellness began between you and me or with you
- 2:46Speaker 3: and me. So I would say that it began really
- 2:48Speaker 3: in twenty thirteen, or maybe even twenty twelve, when it
- 2:52Speaker 3: really started to sort of turn. And here we are
- 2:55Speaker 3: twenty eighteen, right, that is the year. So I think
- 2:59Speaker 3: it's all of that time because we had been what
- 3:03Speaker 3: I call benched, which is my description of being dismantled
- 3:07Speaker 3: and unable to really function in the world or be
- 3:09Speaker 3: accepted by the world or find a way to plug in.
- 3:13Speaker 3: And what happened is after that energy lifted and we
- 3:16Speaker 3: were able to move. I'd say we've both been moving, right,
- 3:20Speaker 3: We've been sort of thrilled.
- 3:22Speaker 1: So your window is looking back six years, Yeah, it
- 3:26Speaker 1: has been that. I mean, I think as soon as
- 3:28Speaker 1: there was an opportunity to move forward, we both kind
- 3:34Speaker 1: of dove in, of course at first, and haven't looked back.
- 3:39Speaker 1: But it's just been a constant like forward, forward, forward forward,
- 3:43Speaker 1: what's next, what's next, what's next? Okay, what can we do?
- 3:46Speaker 1: I think we were just so grateful to have the
- 3:52Speaker 1: opportunity to express ourselves after what we had endured for
- 3:58Speaker 1: so many years that speaking for myself, there's almost like
- 4:04Speaker 1: a fear of slowing down, like I don't want to
- 4:07Speaker 1: slow down, like it was so hard for so long.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Now everything is working, like I just want to build, build, build, build, build,
- 4:13Speaker 1: And my you know, my sort of default mode is
- 4:16Speaker 1: like work harder, you know, push harder, go further.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Or is better.
- 4:22Speaker 1: If this is working, let's do more, let's double down
- 4:24Speaker 1: on this. And I can look at that and say, well,
- 4:29Speaker 1: that's part of my success equation, or learning how to
- 4:33Speaker 1: leverage that aspect of my personality for growth and for
- 4:37Speaker 1: good has benefited me. But it has a dark side
- 4:40Speaker 1: as well, because I don't always know how to modulate
- 4:42Speaker 1: that or dial back on the volume. And I think
- 4:45Speaker 1: when I do do that, or when I'm forced to
- 4:48Speaker 1: do that, then I experience fear like, well, if I
- 4:51Speaker 1: slow down, the world's going to pass me by or whatever, right,
- 4:55Speaker 1: And so I get stuck into this unsustainable model of
- 5:01Speaker 1: like content creation that I think has left me a
- 5:04Speaker 1: little bit fraud.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Lately, right, And I think I mean, listen, I mean
- 5:07Speaker 3: when you've been bench for nine years and almost been
- 5:09Speaker 3: completely annihilated in every way the way that.
- 5:12Speaker 2: We were, it's appropriate, you know.
- 5:15Speaker 3: We then the platform opened up and we were able
- 5:18Speaker 3: to move into it, and we've done it like in
- 5:20Speaker 3: complete joy, complete merging with our authentic voice.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I think we've kept it really real.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I think we've kept it, you know, really raw and
- 5:28Speaker 3: really vulnerable and really true to who we both are.
- 5:32Speaker 3: And then there comes a time when we have to
- 5:35Speaker 3: understand and I take this more in our marriage together
- 5:39Speaker 3: is life is about evolution, and we are always evolving
- 5:43Speaker 3: and changing. And so if we stick or hold on
- 5:47Speaker 3: to one station too hard or too fast, or hold
- 5:50Speaker 3: on too tightly or grip too tightly, there's going to
- 5:54Speaker 3: be some stagnation with that, you know, the energy is
- 5:57Speaker 3: going to stop flowing. And so the comversation between you
- 6:01Speaker 3: and me as husband and wife has been how do
- 6:04Speaker 3: we evolve together past an eighteen year you know commitment
- 6:09Speaker 3: eighteen year marriage are almost twenty you.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Know, how does that evolve and what does that look like?
- 6:14Speaker 3: And so I think this is about evolution, and I
- 6:17Speaker 3: think the way that it's very relevant to what's going
- 6:21Speaker 3: on in wellness or in the social media stage today
- 6:25Speaker 3: is that, you know, the ocean, there is a tide
- 6:28Speaker 3: that comes in and comes out, and there are waves
- 6:31Speaker 3: that come in and come out. And so you know,
- 6:34Speaker 3: years ago, I did, like every Tony Robbins seminar before
- 6:38Speaker 3: I met you, like I was walking on fire and
- 6:41Speaker 3: doing like all the financial mastery and everything that he offered.
- 6:44Speaker 3: And at the time, I'm sure he's evolved a lot,
- 6:46Speaker 3: but at the time, the thing that he didn't really
- 6:49Speaker 3: address was the natural cycle of life, the natural rhythm
- 6:53Speaker 3: of life. And so if we if we don't take
- 6:57Speaker 3: those times to replenish, to reboot, to reconsider, to fill
- 7:03Speaker 3: back up again, we tend to start sharing in my experience,
- 7:08Speaker 3: from a need to be busy or that fear of
- 7:13Speaker 3: not stopping, and the authentic message becomes compromised.
- 7:19Speaker 2: You know, or the truth where you are. So what
- 7:20Speaker 2: do you think about that?
- 7:21Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, I'm somebody who wants it to be high
- 7:23Speaker 1: tide all the time, you know, Like I want to
- 7:25Speaker 1: deny the natural cycle of tides going in and out right.
- 7:32Speaker 1: And so it's like, Okay, it's high tide. Let's keep
- 7:34Speaker 1: it at high tide as long as possible. And I'm
- 7:36Speaker 1: reluctant to kind of step back and allow that ebb
- 7:41Speaker 1: and flow to occur. So that's like my growth opportunity, right, Like,
- 7:47Speaker 1: that's that's the thing that I need to look at
- 7:49Speaker 1: and acknowledge and accept and understand that that my reluctance
- 7:53Speaker 1: to embrace that comes from a place of fear, and
- 7:56Speaker 1: that fear is rooted in this idea that if I
- 7:59Speaker 1: take my foot off the gas pedal, that it's all
- 8:01Speaker 1: going to go away right. And And somebody who's been
- 8:04Speaker 1: really helpful in walking me through this in addition to
- 8:08Speaker 1: yourself is Rob Bell. Like I've had long conversations with
- 8:12Speaker 1: him about this because he'll do his podcast for a
- 8:14Speaker 1: while and then he'll disappear, like to make something right,
- 8:17Speaker 1: to like recharge his batteries or write a play or
- 8:20Speaker 1: a novel or I mean, the guy is like just
- 8:23Speaker 1: a font of creative output. It's insane. And he's like, yeah,
- 8:26Speaker 1: I go away, It's okay. And then I come back
- 8:28Speaker 1: and everyone's psyched that I'm back. You should take a break,
- 8:31Speaker 1: and I'm like, I can't take a break. I can't.
- 8:32Speaker 1: What if I can't, I've never missed a week in
- 8:34Speaker 1: the podcast, Like I'm I'm not in a place where
- 8:37Speaker 1: I'm like, Okay, I'm going to take a break from you.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I'm not doing that. That's not what I'm saying. But
- 8:42Speaker 1: I think there's a lot of wisdom in having this,
- 8:48Speaker 1: you know, self assuredness that you can step back and
- 8:52Speaker 1: take care of yourself, and if you don't do that, ultimately,
- 8:55Speaker 1: it's impacting what you're trying to accomplish in the long run. Anyway,
- 8:59Speaker 1: So to recognize eyes that ebb and flow to uh
- 9:03Speaker 1: have the self confidence, the assuredness to walk away from
- 9:08Speaker 1: time to time to emphasize self care or appreciate the
- 9:13Speaker 1: ebb and flow, or to attune your attention to other
- 9:16Speaker 1: things in your life that are important. I think is
- 9:19Speaker 1: absolutely crucial and critical, especially if you want to be
- 9:23Speaker 1: you know, productive for the long term.
- 9:25Speaker 3: If yeah, if you want to be alive long term,
- 9:27Speaker 3: let's just let's just call it like that. I mean,
- 9:29Speaker 3: I think you know, it's not just it's not just you,
- 9:32Speaker 3: it's the culture. It's what the culture puts on you.
- 9:35Speaker 3: You know, more is better, Competition, you got to you know,
- 9:38Speaker 3: get years.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Well, the getting's good.
- 9:40Speaker 3: You know, if you don't grab this opportunity, then someone
- 9:43Speaker 3: else is going to take it. All of those those
- 9:47Speaker 3: isms are those beliefs that are in the planetary grid
- 9:50Speaker 3: that make us be on the hamster wheel and be
- 9:53Speaker 3: making movements and actions that may not be in alignment
- 9:57Speaker 3: with who we are or may not be real in
- 10:00Speaker 3: truth of who we are. And like your friend Rob
- 10:02Speaker 3: Bell at my friend too, my friend too.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Now, after the.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Plant Power Italia retreat and releasing the cookbook, I actually
- 10:13Speaker 3: got back into town and I could feel the similar
- 10:17Speaker 3: energy that descended in or came over us in two
- 10:21Speaker 3: thousand and seven, and that was at the beginning of
- 10:24Speaker 3: the dismantling phage, or the benching as I call it.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Where I'm bench, I could feel it, I could sense
- 10:29Speaker 3: it in my body. And what that told me was,
- 10:32Speaker 3: don't post on social media.
- 10:34Speaker 2: So I'm coming.
- 10:35Speaker 3: I'm actually just on the tail end of a good
- 10:38Speaker 3: two month break.
- 10:39Speaker 1: What did that feel like?
- 10:40Speaker 3: Specifically, It's like I've described on the podcast before, like
- 10:44Speaker 3: I say, if you've been dismantled, and this isn't a
- 10:46Speaker 3: dismantling in the same way. What it is is it's
- 10:50Speaker 3: an opportunity for evolutionary growth, and when it shows up,
- 10:54Speaker 3: it's a feeling of I call it the universal faucet
- 10:58Speaker 3: has turned off. It's just a pause. It feels like
- 11:02Speaker 3: everything is suspended in mid air. And I even tried
- 11:05Speaker 3: to post, like on our anniversary, I had a beautiful
- 11:08Speaker 3: image that our friend Kurt Arego took when we were
- 11:11Speaker 3: together in Venice, this gorgeous photo, and I wrote this
- 11:14Speaker 3: long thing about us, and literally none of my systems
- 11:18Speaker 3: would allow me to post it, like the technology just
- 11:20Speaker 3: refuse me, and I'm you.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Tried to and it like the uploads literally.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Wouldn't upload, and after like three or four.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I should say, just to like interrupt that you walk
- 11:30Speaker 1: around with emitting some kind of like frequency that makes
- 11:34Speaker 1: all of technology in your orbit fail. Even at the
- 11:37Speaker 1: beginning of this podcast, we had trouble getting the cameras
- 11:40Speaker 1: set up, like they weren't working properly because you carry
- 11:43Speaker 1: I don't know, some frequency that makes all of that
- 11:46Speaker 1: fritz out like energetics.
- 11:48Speaker 2: It's some resonance.
- 11:49Speaker 3: But the thing is is, so I told you it
- 11:51Speaker 3: was our anniversary and we met actually to do a
- 11:54Speaker 3: ceremony together and to meet and have dinner and have time.
- 11:58Speaker 3: And I told you I'm sorry that I didn't post anything.
- 12:01Speaker 3: I actually had spent three hours and it didn't.
- 12:04Speaker 2: It just didn't come to fruition.
- 12:06Speaker 3: So I'm mature enough and I've been through that enough
- 12:08Speaker 3: that I know what that is, and that is stop.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Do not do that.
- 12:12Speaker 3: You're not to do that. So a lot of my
- 12:14Speaker 3: friends have been reaching out for you. Really, oh honey,
- 12:17Speaker 3: no like it.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I didn't even whatever.
- 12:19Speaker 2: No you knew about that.
- 12:20Speaker 3: No, you understood when I talked to you. But a
- 12:23Speaker 3: lot of my friends reached out to me and have been.
- 12:25Speaker 3: You know, we're really concerned and you must be going
- 12:27Speaker 3: through a lot, and you know all this kind of.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Stuff and it way because you break from you.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Yeah, because I'm not posting and I'm not there. And
- 12:34Speaker 3: the thing is is that this is such a beautiful
- 12:36Speaker 3: time for me because it's not it's not intense like
- 12:41Speaker 3: it was before. And I know the signs, I know
- 12:44Speaker 3: the cues, so I know that this is a moment
- 12:47Speaker 3: that I'm able to step into the void and to
- 12:51Speaker 3: gain insights, awarenesses, reclaim parts of myself so that I
- 12:55Speaker 3: can refine what my offerings are creatively, so they are
- 12:59Speaker 3: true in alignment with what I came here to do,
- 13:02Speaker 3: and each of us that is our main mission is
- 13:05Speaker 3: to fully live our own individual design in real truth.
- 13:10Speaker 2: So it's been amazing.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I'm not all the way through it, but I've had
- 13:14Speaker 3: a lot of awarenesses and a lot of things that have,
- 13:17Speaker 3: you know, gifts that I've been grabbing.
- 13:20Speaker 1: The main thing that I've noticed with you over the
- 13:23Speaker 1: last year is you have really stepped into your creative
- 13:30Speaker 1: powers and I'm seeing somebody who is definitely much more
- 13:38Speaker 1: expressed than you have been in the past. And I
- 13:41Speaker 1: see with that in accompanying like sort of stronger sense
- 13:50Speaker 1: of self. And I think it's been an interesting journey
- 13:53Speaker 1: in path because for many years, you know, I was
- 13:56Speaker 1: the first person to kind of get recogn you know,
- 13:59Speaker 1: I was getting a lot of of recognition for them.
- 14:01Speaker 2: You're more famous than and you were.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Kind of like, you know, in the shadow, like you know,
- 14:06Speaker 1: as oh, she cooks the food or whatever. You know,
- 14:08Speaker 1: it's like hello, like none of this would have happened
- 14:10Speaker 1: without like all the stuff that I did. And I
- 14:13Speaker 1: think there was some you know, like some some level
- 14:16Speaker 1: of frustration about that, not because you had a desire
- 14:19Speaker 1: to be publicly acknowledged, but more because you felt like
- 14:23Speaker 1: you were you were being muted in what you had
- 14:26Speaker 1: to offer. And what I've seen in the last year
- 14:28Speaker 1: is you really owning your own strength and capabilities and
- 14:33Speaker 1: your own path and stepping into that with your podcast
- 14:36Speaker 1: and the books, not just the books that you're writing,
- 14:37Speaker 1: with the music and and just the way you carry yourself.
- 14:40Speaker 1: So I, you know, I feel like you're you're you're
- 14:42Speaker 1: so much more fully expressed and and you're happier as
- 14:46Speaker 1: a result of that, Like you're you're more fully actualized
- 14:50Speaker 1: in the things that you want to be doing. So
- 14:52Speaker 1: talk to me a little bit about like how.
- 14:54Speaker 3: You Yeah, so, I mean I think again that this
- 14:57Speaker 3: is all divine timing, like you're in my union. Whatever
- 15:00Speaker 3: we're doing here on a higher level, on a human level,
- 15:03Speaker 3: this is the timing that was laid out. So you
- 15:06Speaker 3: were supposed to go first in this scenario. And by
- 15:10Speaker 3: you going first, you've opened the doors and opened so
- 15:13Speaker 3: many people to be willing and able to hear what
- 15:17Speaker 3: it is that I'm sharing. And so we've experienced this
- 15:20Speaker 3: on retreat. Yeah, that was completely frustrating to me, like
- 15:24Speaker 3: beyond because you know, for me, this has been an
- 15:28Speaker 3: entire spiritual evolution. It's required ceremony, it's required ritual heart intention,
- 15:36Speaker 3: holding you in your highest essence. Also, you know all
- 15:39Speaker 3: the children, raising the kids and fighting to save the
- 15:42Speaker 3: house and everything else that we experienced.
- 15:46Speaker 2: So when Sanjay Gupta picked.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Up your story and it was basically sort of described
- 15:50Speaker 3: as dude hits middle age and loses you know, fifty
- 15:53Speaker 3: pounds or whatever, it was like, I tell the story
- 15:56Speaker 3: like I almost spit my cereal out across the table
- 15:59Speaker 3: because that part of the story was just the membrane.
- 16:02Speaker 2: It was only the top, but the way.
- 16:04Speaker 3: That our culture is and in order for us to
- 16:07Speaker 3: affect change, that is the portal.
- 16:10Speaker 2: That people could access what was really going on.
- 16:12Speaker 3: And so it's all been completely in an in divine timing.
- 16:16Speaker 3: It wasn't because I was in some paralysis and couldn't
- 16:19Speaker 3: access my power. It's because this is the way it
- 16:23Speaker 3: was meant to unfold. And so yeah, I'm in a
- 16:26Speaker 3: moment now that I am finally coming into the embodiment
- 16:32Speaker 3: of everything that I came here to do, and it's
- 16:35Speaker 3: a super exciting time for me.
- 16:37Speaker 2: And thank you for that recognition.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Yeah, So walk me through your daily routine, your regiment,
- 16:44Speaker 1: or specifically how you spend your morning.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Well, I'm in a lot of flow right now, so
- 16:51Speaker 3: I wouldn't even say that I have I don't have
- 16:53Speaker 3: a discipline. I'm not disciplined. I'm tuned into the flow
- 16:56Speaker 3: of energy, and so I'm often it depends, you know,
- 17:01Speaker 3: it depends on what's going on. But I'm in meditation,
- 17:05Speaker 3: in channeling music. I'm receiving sounds and tones spontaneously in meditation,
- 17:13Speaker 3: so I'm not looking to write a song in a
- 17:15Speaker 3: traditional way. So I'm in an exploration in the music
- 17:19Speaker 3: for sure.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I'm in. This happens in the early morning, So this
- 17:23Speaker 2: is what's going on.
- 17:24Speaker 1: You get up like at an ungodly hour.
- 17:26Speaker 3: You get up at like four four thirty, yeah, usually typically,
- 17:30Speaker 3: and then that starts an entire process. Actually, so it's
- 17:34Speaker 3: a way of getting up. It's getting up in reverence.
- 17:37Speaker 3: It's bathing my body in reverence almost as a ritual.
- 17:42Speaker 3: It's preparing to sit in meditation. It's receiving the tea
- 17:46Speaker 3: as communion with the trees, with the planet, connecting with
- 17:50Speaker 3: this energy. Then I'll move into music, and then I'll
- 17:54Speaker 3: start playing and writing. So I've been writing some new
- 17:57Speaker 3: music and allowing some new music to come in. But
- 18:00Speaker 3: what I would say is key about everything that I'm
- 18:02Speaker 3: doing is it's created from first a place of ceremony,
- 18:06Speaker 3: which connects with and recognizes all the energy that is unseen,
- 18:12Speaker 3: which is a partner or a co creator in everything
- 18:17Speaker 3: that ends up being seen. And this was what I
- 18:19Speaker 3: was doing behind the scenes of ultraman of finding ultra
- 18:24Speaker 3: of our entire life for so many years.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Right, one of the things you've been talking about pretty
- 18:31Speaker 1: regularly lately is this importance of ceremony and ceremony as
- 18:36Speaker 1: this almost lost art that is so so much an
- 18:41Speaker 1: integral part of human evolution and the development of culture
- 18:45Speaker 1: over the years. Regardless of if you look back anthropologically
- 18:52Speaker 1: at any tribe, at any you know, sort of indigenous culture,
- 18:56Speaker 1: ceremony is very much a central part of daily life.
- 19:00Speaker 1: And in our modern developed world, we've really moved away
- 19:04Speaker 1: from ceremony in almost every regard. And I think that
- 19:08Speaker 1: that's that's a loss, and it's something that I think
- 19:16Speaker 1: creates this void in our experience and leaves us perhaps
- 19:21Speaker 1: even unconsciously searching for something that mimics, that you know,
- 19:26Speaker 1: trigger that's deep inside of us to you know, have
- 19:29Speaker 1: that kind of thing in our life. And I want
- 19:32Speaker 1: to hear your thoughts about that, because I know you
- 19:33Speaker 1: have a lot of thoughts on that. But that kind
- 19:35Speaker 1: of came up for me the other day. There was
- 19:37Speaker 1: a article in the New York Times. It was on
- 19:41Speaker 1: the front page of the Sunday Review. It's a big deal,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and it was the title was something like, you know,
- 19:48Speaker 1: podcast brows want to optimize your life, And it was
- 19:51Speaker 1: an article about this movement of podcasters in the health
- 19:55Speaker 1: and quote unquote like life optimization sector who have developed
- 20:01Speaker 1: large audiences. And it mentions people like Joe Rogan and
- 20:05Speaker 1: Tim Ferriss and Lewis Howe and Aubrey Marcus, all of people,
- 20:08Speaker 1: you know, all people I know, and you know, I
- 20:10Speaker 1: consider myself part of that community, although I wasn't mentioned
- 20:14Speaker 1: in the article, and I have like a conflicting perspective
- 20:18Speaker 1: on it, because on the one hand, it was a
- 20:20Speaker 1: little bit snarky, it was a little bit condescending, like
- 20:23Speaker 1: the use of bro terminology and how these people are
- 20:28Speaker 1: sort of, you know, shilling self help techniques, et cetera.
- 20:33Speaker 1: But fundamentally beneath that was this thesis that with the
- 20:38Speaker 1: kind of crippling of religious institutions, people are searching for
- 20:43Speaker 1: spirituality and new in different ways, and this podcast space
- 20:47Speaker 1: is filling that void for a certain part of the population.
- 20:52Speaker 1: And I think that's right. I think that's correct, and
- 20:55Speaker 1: I think it does speak to this lack of ceremony
- 20:58Speaker 1: or this modern gestalt that we're in that has moved
- 21:02Speaker 1: us away from the importance of collective, community based ceremony
- 21:09Speaker 1: that is part and parcel of what makes us human.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Yeah, and I mean I would even go to say
- 21:16Speaker 3: it's very individual, it's very personal. So I'd say the
- 21:19Speaker 3: reason that is very true, and the reason is because
- 21:21Speaker 3: we are spiritual beings having a human experience, or possibly
- 21:25Speaker 3: multi dimensional beings having a simultaneous experience. So there's only
- 21:29Speaker 3: part of us that is experiencing life in this physical form.
- 21:33Speaker 2: And what's happened.
- 21:34Speaker 3: The reason that we've gotten away from it is because
- 21:37Speaker 3: of religions, because of dogmas, doctrines, rules, sinning, all these
- 21:45Speaker 3: kind of things that can be the cage of religion
- 21:49Speaker 3: or dogma of religion. And when ritual or ceremony is
- 21:54Speaker 3: something as natural as walking out in nature. And so
- 21:58Speaker 3: what I'm sharing is that you need a priest or
- 22:01Speaker 3: a guru or anybody to give you permission to commune
- 22:06Speaker 3: with that part of yourself that is not physicalized. And
- 22:10Speaker 3: in fact, I encourage that you don't that you don't
- 22:13Speaker 3: use any systems that exist, Any systems that exist on
- 22:16Speaker 3: this planet that have been done in traditions are infiltrated
- 22:21Speaker 3: with suppressive, suppressive energy. So it's much more natural and
- 22:27Speaker 3: authentic if you can be childlike and do what is
- 22:31Speaker 3: what you feel, do what is natural to you. So
- 22:34Speaker 3: if you have something that you want to foster or
- 22:37Speaker 3: a relationship, a dream, a garden, a sacred idea, anything
- 22:44Speaker 3: simply sitting and communing with that, asking for the unseen
- 22:49Speaker 3: energy that is maybe your multi dimensional part of yourself
- 22:53Speaker 3: to come into the experience and co create. You can
- 22:57Speaker 3: offer flowers that signify you, or love for it, your hopes,
- 23:02Speaker 3: your dreams. It's really the intention that you have when
- 23:06Speaker 3: you enter into these things. And I would take this
- 23:09Speaker 3: back as an example for you and me and our marriage.
- 23:12Speaker 3: We had a wedding ceremony, well it's start before then.
- 23:15Speaker 3: We had a shamanic ceremony just the two of us
- 23:18Speaker 3: in Mexico that included a sweat lodge and a fire
- 23:22Speaker 3: and a releasing of anything that would keep us from
- 23:25Speaker 3: each other, any secrets, anything that had happened. We were
- 23:29Speaker 3: able to put that in the fire to begin at
- 23:32Speaker 3: an even ground. So that was the beginning, and it
- 23:35Speaker 3: was a glorious engagement and glorious wedding just the two
- 23:39Speaker 3: of us, just between us. I remember it so beautifully.
- 23:44Speaker 3: We had an amazing meal, like on a floating barge
- 23:47Speaker 3: under the stars in Mexico with.
- 23:49Speaker 2: No one around.
- 23:51Speaker 3: You had hidden me messages. I still have the shell
- 23:54Speaker 3: you gave me from that moment, and I have a
- 23:57Speaker 3: hawk feather that was given to us by the shaman
- 24:01Speaker 3: who told me that was given to him by his grandfather.
- 24:04Speaker 3: So that was the beginning of this relationship between rich
- 24:07Speaker 3: and Julie. And then we had like the spiritual world
- 24:12Speaker 3: concert of all time. That was the most one of
- 24:16Speaker 3: the most magical days I've ever been alive. It was
- 24:20Speaker 3: on our land beneath the house with our boys. I
- 24:23Speaker 3: was pregnant with Mathis, and we had African wedding singers
- 24:28Speaker 3: and channelers and Bagavondas did the fire ceremony, and we
- 24:32Speaker 3: had gospel singers and it was absolutely magnificent. The clouds
- 24:37Speaker 3: actually formed the shape of like angels in the sky.
- 24:40Speaker 2: It was crazy, crazy, beautiful night.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Then all those years after that, when we almost lost
- 24:48Speaker 3: everything and almost felt like we didn't make it through
- 24:51Speaker 3: our trials, we then renewed our vows with our children.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Then after we had had the two girls and so
- 24:59Speaker 3: we had ceremony with just the six of us, and
- 25:03Speaker 3: everybody offered something into this family marriage. It was still
- 25:08Speaker 3: one of the most beautiful days of my life. You
- 25:11Speaker 3: read me something that day that literally slayed me. It
- 25:14Speaker 3: opened my heart up and touched me at such a
- 25:17Speaker 3: deep level that I was literally melted in every single
- 25:21Speaker 3: layer of my being. I strung garlands for us. We
- 25:25Speaker 3: each had flower like garlands that I had done. And
- 25:28Speaker 3: now cutting to fifteen years, what did we do on
- 25:32Speaker 3: our fifteen year anniversary?
- 25:34Speaker 2: We went and had a ceremony.
- 25:36Speaker 3: We ignited what the future holds for us, talked about
- 25:40Speaker 3: our intentions, what we want to do together, what you
- 25:43Speaker 3: want to be. I think my question to you was
- 25:46Speaker 3: what would you like to experience for the next phase
- 25:48Speaker 3: of your life? Not what are you going to give me,
- 25:51Speaker 3: but what do you want to experience? And so we've
- 25:55Speaker 3: made that commitment to each other in that way. And
- 25:58Speaker 3: I'm old enough now to look in the rearview mirror
- 26:01Speaker 3: and see I did those same practices with so many
- 26:05Speaker 3: things in our life, so many and they do work.
- 26:09Speaker 3: There is energy in that powerful, powerful energy, and that's
- 26:14Speaker 3: available to all of us.
- 26:16Speaker 1: What I hear in that is a couple things. I mean,
- 26:19Speaker 1: First of all, I don't know if you differentiate between
- 26:24Speaker 1: ritual and ceremony. I guess they're sort of the same thing.
- 26:29Speaker 1: But there are certain instances in which kind of creating
- 26:35Speaker 1: formality around a ceremony is appropriate, Like it's a wedding
- 26:39Speaker 1: or a renewal of valves or our anniversary. But then
- 26:42Speaker 1: there's also this practice of bringing ritualistic behaviors into your
- 26:49Speaker 1: daily life so that it becomes part and parcel of
- 26:51Speaker 1: just kind of how you approach the world. So the
- 26:54Speaker 1: idea of every morning, you know, greeting the day with
- 26:58Speaker 1: you know, whether it's you know, take a walk in
- 27:00Speaker 1: nature and focusing your attention on something that you want
- 27:04Speaker 1: to more deeply express in your life. You know, kind
- 27:07Speaker 1: of cultivating the love and the energy and the intention
- 27:11Speaker 1: around that is something that you don't have to create
- 27:14Speaker 1: a lot of formal structure around. It's more like a mindset,
- 27:19Speaker 1: a frame of mind, and a daily habit that becomes
- 27:23Speaker 1: ritualized and ultimately contributes to the manifestation of whatever it
- 27:29Speaker 1: is that you're seeking.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Yeah, so I would say those ceremony, those points that
- 27:33Speaker 3: I was giving those examples, that's that's a true ceremony.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Those were sort of milestones and those moments that were
- 27:40Speaker 3: astrologically important or important in our timeline of evolution. Ritual ritual,
- 27:46Speaker 3: I would say, would be more the daily you know,
- 27:49Speaker 3: more the daily thing.
- 27:50Speaker 2: That you do.
- 27:51Speaker 3: So, for instance, just two quick things when I wake
- 27:54Speaker 3: up in the morning. When my feet hit the ground,
- 27:58Speaker 3: my feet touched the ground, I bow down and kiss
- 28:03Speaker 3: the floor. Basically, that's my first act of the morning.
- 28:08Speaker 3: My last act of the morning is in meditation in bed,
- 28:13Speaker 3: rising up on my knees and extending my arms to
- 28:16Speaker 3: the heavens with gratitude for everything I've experienced. And then
- 28:22Speaker 3: there's a bow down after that and a release of
- 28:26Speaker 3: every triumph and every tragedy.
- 28:30Speaker 1: And if you have to articulate what you get out
- 28:33Speaker 1: of that, what does that mean to you and how
- 28:36Speaker 1: does that impact your life?
- 28:38Speaker 3: It's a meaning, It's a deep meaning for life.
- 28:42Speaker 2: It's a connection.
- 28:43Speaker 3: It's a reminder of the fact that I am part
- 28:47Speaker 3: of the earth, that I am here as part of
- 28:52Speaker 3: an expression, And it's a reverence and an honoring for
- 28:57Speaker 3: my very life, for the very life force that is
- 29:00Speaker 3: pulsing through this magnificent instrument.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Which houses our spirit. So it's a it's.
- 29:08Speaker 3: An act of reverence, an act of devotion, a reset
- 29:14Speaker 3: in a way to me, remembering that I honor that
- 29:19Speaker 3: which is unseen.
- 29:21Speaker 1: And when you say unseen, what does that mean to you?
- 29:24Speaker 2: It means spirit, soul.
- 29:27Speaker 3: I mean there's you know, different people have different definitions
- 29:30Speaker 3: for that, so I won't get into like the semantics
- 29:33Speaker 3: on it, but basically, that part of the life force
- 29:36Speaker 3: which is not embodied in this physical body, but which
- 29:39Speaker 3: is co creating and interacting with me always.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know, over the years, you're the one
- 29:46Speaker 1: who's always been the motivating force behind all of the
- 29:50Speaker 1: kind of more other kinds of like formal ceremonies that
- 29:54Speaker 1: we've done. You know, annually we'll get together around the
- 29:57Speaker 1: fire and we'll write down, you know, things we want
- 29:59Speaker 1: to like go of and put them in the fire,
- 30:01Speaker 1: and you create this kind of ritualistic, you know, kind
- 30:04Speaker 1: of shamanic environment around that that gives it weight and
- 30:07Speaker 1: gives it meaning. And I think those are really beautiful
- 30:11Speaker 1: expressions of this human experience that we're having. And you know,
- 30:16Speaker 1: to kind of speak to what I mentioned earlier, we
- 30:21Speaker 1: really have moved past this in our in our modern culture.
- 30:25Speaker 1: You know, we don't we don't you know, we have
- 30:28Speaker 1: bar mitzvahs and bob mitzvahs, and we have Christenings, and
- 30:31Speaker 1: we have these kind of you know, ceremonies that are
- 30:35Speaker 1: trapped in religious dogma, and I think for a lot
- 30:39Speaker 1: of people they kind of go through the motions of
- 30:41Speaker 1: these things like blah blah blah, but they don't have
- 30:44Speaker 1: that that that intention behind them, or I'm not saying everybody.
- 30:49Speaker 1: I'm sure for a lot of people they do. But
- 30:52Speaker 1: I think to the extent that we can create our
- 30:56Speaker 1: own rituals that work for us and treat them with
- 31:00Speaker 1: the same kind of reverence and sacred energy that they
- 31:04Speaker 1: really are are powerful. You know, they're powerful touchdowns and
- 31:09Speaker 1: ways of remembering and ways of achieving clarity over who
- 31:14Speaker 1: you are and you know where you've been and where
- 31:17Speaker 1: you want to go.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely.
- 31:19Speaker 3: And I mean the thing is is if you if
- 31:22Speaker 3: you are in a religion or experiencing religion and it's
- 31:25Speaker 3: making you feel expanded and free, then that's perfect for you.
- 31:29Speaker 2: So it's you know, everyone is completely different.
- 31:32Speaker 3: I'm just speaking to those of us that have felt
- 31:36Speaker 3: oppressed by religion, or confined by religion, or sullied by religion, shamed,
- 31:43Speaker 3: you know, those type of things. So in spiritual awareness,
- 31:47Speaker 3: there isn't shame, there isn't guilt.
- 31:49Speaker 2: There's an expansion.
- 31:50Speaker 3: So you know, that is what we're experiencing by tapping
- 31:54Speaker 3: into that force.
- 31:56Speaker 1: How do you think we're doing in our marriage?
- 31:58Speaker 2: Do I think?
- 31:59Speaker 3: Well, you know, actually, it was going to tell you.
- 32:00Speaker 3: So I have this thing when I read a book.
- 32:02Speaker 3: When I read a book, I just open it up
- 32:04Speaker 3: to whatever page randomly and then it gives me the
- 32:08Speaker 3: message that I need in that moment. And it's actually
- 32:11Speaker 3: works all the time, like one hundred percent of the time.
- 32:15Speaker 3: So today Rich was like, you know, are we gonna
- 32:17Speaker 3: do we have something decided or are we just going
- 32:19Speaker 3: to wing it or what's going on? I was like, yeah,
- 32:21Speaker 3: I don't know what you mean. I was like, let's
- 32:23Speaker 3: just go turn the MIC's on. So I came into
- 32:25Speaker 3: the podcast room, which I had. This is the first
- 32:27Speaker 3: time that I'm sitting at this table, and I picked
- 32:31Speaker 3: up he has the Prophet by Khalil Jebroun, and I
- 32:35Speaker 3: opened it up spontaneously to a page, and so I
- 32:38Speaker 3: like to read it to you, all right, So it
- 32:40Speaker 3: says then Almitra spoke again and said, and what of marriage?
- 32:45Speaker 2: Master?
- 32:46Speaker 3: And he answered saying, you were born together, and together
- 32:50Speaker 3: you shall be forever more. You shall be together when
- 32:54Speaker 3: the white wings of death scatter your days. I you
- 32:58Speaker 3: shall be together than in the silent memory of God.
- 33:03Speaker 3: But Let there be spaces in your togetherness, and let
- 33:06Speaker 3: the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another,
- 33:11Speaker 3: but make not a bond of love. Let it rather
- 33:14Speaker 3: be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Fill each other's cup, but drink not from one cup.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Give another of your bread, but eat not from this.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Give one another of your bread, but eat not from
- 33:29Speaker 3: the same loaf.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Right, you get it.
- 33:31Speaker 3: I'm not eating from your loaf, that's clear. Sing and
- 33:34Speaker 3: dance together and be joyous, but let each one of
- 33:38Speaker 3: you be alone. So that's a very same famous passage
- 33:41Speaker 3: that is read at weddings. But I just randomly opened
- 33:44Speaker 3: that up and we were going to talk about our marriage,
- 33:46Speaker 3: So there you go.
- 33:47Speaker 1: I think that that very well encapsulates kind of how
- 33:51Speaker 1: we're approaching this next phase of our relationship as two
- 33:54Speaker 1: people who have been together for twenty years. It was interesting.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I put up this video that Reese shot and edited
- 34:03Speaker 1: the other day called why I Live in a Tent? Right,
- 34:05Speaker 1: It's just a really quick, kind of fun like explaining
- 34:08Speaker 1: like why I've been sleeping in a tent for two years.
- 34:11Speaker 1: And I kind of when we were shooting it, I
- 34:13Speaker 1: spoke to the question of you know, what does Julie
- 34:18Speaker 1: think about this? And like are you are you in
- 34:20Speaker 1: the doghouse? Did she kick you out of the house?
- 34:22Speaker 1: Or you know, how does this impact impact your intimacy
- 34:25Speaker 1: and your marriage? And I answered that and then it
- 34:27Speaker 1: just didn't make sense in the in the edit of
- 34:29Speaker 1: the video, so we left it out. So in the comments,
- 34:32Speaker 1: like that's all anybody wants to know, Like everybody has
- 34:34Speaker 1: all these opinions about what this means and how our
- 34:37Speaker 1: marriage must be on the rocks and and this sort
- 34:39Speaker 1: of thing. So that's just one aspect of this place
- 34:46Speaker 1: that we're in right now, where we are deeply bonded
- 34:52Speaker 1: yet living in and supporting each other, yet living independent lives.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I would say it is in fact
- 34:59Speaker 3: been always the way we were bonded, So it was
- 35:02Speaker 3: never before.
- 35:03Speaker 1: I think we've gone into a comfort level with it.
- 35:05Speaker 1: That's new. Are a little bit more.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Matured maybe, but maybe I don't think so.
- 35:11Speaker 3: It doesn't feel any different to me really, no, not
- 35:13Speaker 3: for my not from my perspective. Well, I feel like
- 35:18Speaker 3: that's how we came together to begin with. It was
- 35:20Speaker 3: never like you complete me, that was never our sure,
- 35:23Speaker 3: we were never that it was like, uh, you know,
- 35:26Speaker 3: I will celebrate you as you realize all your dreams.
- 35:29Speaker 3: That's sort of the tagline of our marriage, right, it
- 35:32Speaker 3: was never I expect you to do X.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Y and Z for me. I don't think no, no, no.
- 35:39Speaker 3: So yeah, it's pretty amazing actually for me to sit here,
- 35:43Speaker 3: and of course I didn't read any of those comments,
- 35:45Speaker 3: but for you to tell me that people said that
- 35:47Speaker 3: about our marriage, and do you know how much reaction
- 35:50Speaker 3: I have to that? I don't know, zero zero, Like
- 35:54Speaker 3: literally there is nothing living in me.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Well, that stuff doesn't any at all because they have
- 35:58Speaker 1: they don't know, so like why would that bother me?
- 36:01Speaker 3: But it's just it's cool because it's an indication of
- 36:04Speaker 3: the clarity and the truth of where we really are.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Because if we were in trouble or we were not
- 36:10Speaker 3: not honest about certain aspects, you could never post something
- 36:15Speaker 3: like that, you know what I mean. It would be
- 36:17Speaker 3: way too vulnerable. So yeah, I mean that just works
- 36:20Speaker 3: really really well for us. I think we're both incredibly independent.
- 36:24Speaker 3: We're also having this sort of alchemization of extreme polarities
- 36:31Speaker 3: between you and me, how completely different we are, and
- 36:35Speaker 3: that causes a friction that has been causing, creating an
- 36:39Speaker 3: alchemy and an evolution between us and I now don't
- 36:43Speaker 3: find you as polar extreme as I did before.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Were annoying.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Well that's part of it, but I'm sure that goes
- 36:51Speaker 3: both ways. Yeah, So I'm sort of feeling like we're
- 36:55Speaker 3: starting to sort of become same, like a sameness of
- 36:59Speaker 3: metal metal me E T T l E. You know,
- 37:04Speaker 3: Like it's like the passage from the Remayana that I
- 37:08Speaker 3: read to you, that I sent to you on our
- 37:10Speaker 3: eighth wedding anniversary, where it talks about how we've been
- 37:14Speaker 3: battered by the shores and the waves of life, and
- 37:18Speaker 3: we've come into a certain beauty, a ruggedness of nature
- 37:22Speaker 3: that is only achieved through those experiences of life. And
- 37:28Speaker 3: so right now, I mean for my sodden and what
- 37:31Speaker 3: I do, it's like I don't want you in my bedroom. Like,
- 37:33Speaker 3: first of all, I'm doing stuff in my sleep state,
- 37:36Speaker 3: I'm processing energy and in my own exploration. So I
- 37:39Speaker 3: need that container so that I can develop myself in
- 37:44Speaker 3: the manner that I meant to. Same way you need
- 37:47Speaker 3: your own spaces, and one of those spaces just happens
- 37:50Speaker 3: to be a tent.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Yes, the tent I wish I love.
- 37:56Speaker 3: But I will just say for the record, I mean
- 37:59Speaker 3: our intimate see is actually extraordinarily well and it's still
- 38:06Speaker 3: amazing to me that we could be together this many years.
- 38:11Speaker 3: And the plus for me for him being in a
- 38:14Speaker 3: tent on a daily basis is when we are together,
- 38:18Speaker 3: it's like being with my boyfriend for the first time
- 38:21Speaker 3: every time.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Sorry for this sharing too much, I'll send you guys out.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Yeah. No, that's a good answer, and I think that's accurate.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Like I share that perspective. You know, neither of us
- 38:36Speaker 1: are people who need to be by each other's side
- 38:40Speaker 1: twenty four hours a day. But when we do come together,
- 38:44Speaker 1: it has to be special. We have to be present
- 38:47Speaker 1: and we can make that, you know, that intimate time
- 38:51Speaker 1: mean a little bit more, I think. And so it
- 38:54Speaker 1: works for us. Maybe it doesn't work for other people
- 38:57Speaker 1: out there, but it's been working for us quite well.
- 39:00Speaker 2: That's all that matters.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Yeah. So, but let's explore this subject of relationships, huh,
- 39:05Speaker 1: a little bit more deeply. I mean, there's a lot
- 39:10Speaker 1: of people. Look, everybody's in some kind of relationship with
- 39:14Speaker 1: another person in some form or another, whether intimate, friendship, family, whatever,
- 39:19Speaker 1: And I think that relationships are the root of the
- 39:23Speaker 1: majority of most people's struggles and pain. So as somebody
- 39:28Speaker 1: who has started, you know, working with other individuals, even
- 39:32Speaker 1: counseling people and hosting these retreats and working with people
- 39:37Speaker 1: on a pretty intimate level, let's unpack this subject of
- 39:42Speaker 1: relationships and where you see commonly people misstepping or getting
- 39:50Speaker 1: themselves into situations that are unnecessarily provoking that kind of suffering.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Well, the biggest suffering is buying into the prince princess
- 39:59Speaker 3: paradigm whatever form, even if it's same sex or you
- 40:02Speaker 3: know or not, is thinking that another is going to
- 40:06Speaker 3: rescue you or complete you. If you're in that paradigm,
- 40:10Speaker 3: and that's where you're beginning in a relationship, you're gonna
- 40:15Speaker 3: experience that it's not true, that that just doesn't work out.
- 40:19Speaker 3: And I would say that in relationship and in really
- 40:22Speaker 3: every single situation, every single challenge that comes up, the
- 40:28Speaker 3: answer lies within your own being. So the resolution of
- 40:33Speaker 3: it is only happening inside your own awareness. So no
- 40:38Speaker 3: one can make you feel another way, or act another way,
- 40:42Speaker 3: or experience an event another way then you So it's
- 40:48Speaker 3: your own self. And if we can remove whatever we're
- 40:53Speaker 3: projecting onto our partner of anything that they need to
- 40:58Speaker 3: act a certain way to make you happy or make
- 41:01Speaker 3: me happy. If I can remove that, I can say,
- 41:06Speaker 3: right off the bat, over fifty.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Percent of the conflict will simply disappear.
- 41:12Speaker 1: It's very difficult. I think most people when they're searching
- 41:16Speaker 1: for a partner, they're innately attracted to another human being
- 41:22Speaker 1: that that transcends like their conscious awareness or.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Fits their pain body.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, like they're going to trauma. You see this
- 41:32Speaker 1: all the time, Like people will will end up with
- 41:34Speaker 1: that person who basically mimics the behavior patterns of whoever
- 41:39Speaker 1: caused you pain as a young person, Right, And you
- 41:42Speaker 1: perpetuate this pattern and you're not even consciously aware that
- 41:46Speaker 1: you're choosing that, But that's what your pain body is
- 41:50Speaker 1: going to find. That pain body and the other person
- 41:52Speaker 1: that matches up perfectly, and you're meeting each other's you know,
- 41:56Speaker 1: sort of unhealthy needs in that regard. And I think
- 41:59Speaker 1: it takes a lot of introspection and internal work to
- 42:04Speaker 1: be able to first of all, recognize that in yourself,
- 42:08Speaker 1: and perhaps it takes a couple bad relationships before you
- 42:11Speaker 1: become intuitively aware of that and transcend that to find
- 42:16Speaker 1: the person that will that will meet you in a
- 42:19Speaker 1: healthy way, right, Because often we think we are attracted
- 42:24Speaker 1: to a certain person because of reason X, but it's
- 42:26Speaker 1: really reason why that is propelling you in that direction.
- 42:32Speaker 3: Yeah, So what I would say, it's taking responsibility for
- 42:36Speaker 3: your own love, taking responsibility for the way you feel
- 42:40Speaker 3: inside of your being. That takes a level of maturity,
- 42:43Speaker 3: and if you aren't ready to, what will happen is
- 42:47Speaker 3: what we do is at hum as humans, is we
- 42:49Speaker 3: meet somebody and we're like you, you know, and all
- 42:53Speaker 3: the hormones are flowing or whatever, the love endorphins, and
- 42:58Speaker 3: then we project and image on to the person that's
- 43:02Speaker 3: coming from our own inner experience which has nothing to
- 43:07Speaker 3: do with who they are. And then we may marry
- 43:09Speaker 3: them or end up with them, and when they turn
- 43:12Speaker 3: out to not be the projection that we placed on
- 43:16Speaker 3: the person, then we become angry with them, right, and
- 43:19Speaker 3: we want to throw them away.
- 43:21Speaker 1: But even backing that up, we're attracted to that person.
- 43:25Speaker 1: And then kind of baked into that is this sense
- 43:28Speaker 1: that if they if I can make this relationship work,
- 43:31Speaker 1: if I can, if I can get with this person,
- 43:34Speaker 1: then this is going to solve a lot of my problems,
- 43:36Speaker 1: and I'm going to feel better about myself and my
- 43:38Speaker 1: life will be better and a lot of things will
- 43:42Speaker 1: be improved. That's part of the projection.
- 43:44Speaker 3: It's a beautiful illusion. I mean, listen, I'm a hopeless romantic.
- 43:48Speaker 3: I love being romantically in love. It's wonderful. It's just
- 43:51Speaker 3: an illusion. It's not it's actually not true, because it's
- 43:54Speaker 3: you complete me. It's oh, you complete me, so with
- 43:59Speaker 3: your love, then I'm everything.
- 44:01Speaker 2: No, the love is coming from inside.
- 44:03Speaker 3: So what I'm saying is is that if you become
- 44:07Speaker 3: disenchanted with that person who's not living up to the
- 44:11Speaker 3: image that you projected in the first place, you'll trade
- 44:14Speaker 3: it in and get another person and then you'll recreate
- 44:18Speaker 3: the same scenario again.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and at the same time, water rises to its
- 44:21Speaker 1: own level. Right, So, if you're in a certain place,
- 44:24Speaker 1: you're going to attract a certain person. And most people
- 44:28Speaker 1: look at a potential partner as like they're trying to
- 44:31Speaker 1: step up their life, right Like they're looking at that
- 44:34Speaker 1: person as somebody who maybe not necessarily will complete them,
- 44:38Speaker 1: but perhaps has certain qualities that that person wants in
- 44:44Speaker 1: their life. But instead of looking at like I need
- 44:46Speaker 1: that in my life, so I'm going to get that.
- 44:48Speaker 1: What if you flip that equation and said, I'm going
- 44:53Speaker 1: to become the person that I would like to be with,
- 44:57Speaker 1: in other words, raising your own water mid so that
- 45:02Speaker 1: you're at that level of the person you're trying to
- 45:04Speaker 1: attract to becoming the person that you're trying to attract
- 45:08Speaker 1: as somebody who might actually be a good partner for
- 45:12Speaker 1: that one. Well, that's it. I didn't say that very ellly.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I got it. I mean you're right.
- 45:16Speaker 3: People say, oh, you know, he married up or she
- 45:18Speaker 3: married up, So it is something that's in the culture.
- 45:21Speaker 3: And yeah, if you had the maturity and you had
- 45:23Speaker 3: the awareness to develop yourself into the being, into your
- 45:27Speaker 3: most authentic, amazing self, then you're going to have the
- 45:29Speaker 3: opportunity to pair with somebody who meets your level. Absolutely true.
- 45:34Speaker 3: The thing is is that most people aren't in that space.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Most people are in sort of like knee jerk relationships
- 45:40Speaker 3: where they're pain body attached to somebody and you know,
- 45:44Speaker 3: sort of you have the same level of trauma. I mean,
- 45:47Speaker 3: you and I have alcoholism in our families, so there's
- 45:50Speaker 3: something about our humor, the way we joke around. It's
- 45:52Speaker 3: got alcoholism in it, like that's part of it's part
- 45:55Speaker 3: of the program. It's part of the way that we are.
- 45:57Speaker 3: You know, our families interacted and we identified and that's familiar.
- 46:03Speaker 3: So when I meet you and I talked to it's like, oh, yes,
- 46:05Speaker 3: the same humor I have, you know, which is still awesome.
- 46:08Speaker 3: But I guess what I would say is in relationship
- 46:10Speaker 3: is where we have really one of the greatest opportunities
- 46:14Speaker 3: because it ignites it in your face over and over
- 46:17Speaker 3: and over again. It's much easier to be single and
- 46:20Speaker 3: go live in a cave than it is for you
- 46:22Speaker 3: to be, you know, in a modern relationship. So what
- 46:25Speaker 3: I would say is, if you're in a relationship and
- 46:28Speaker 3: you're running it, you know, up against the edges, use
- 46:31Speaker 3: it like it's a beautiful tool. And whether you end
- 46:34Speaker 3: up in it forever or some people tell me, you know,
- 46:38Speaker 3: my first marriage failed, and I was like, or it completed,
- 46:43Speaker 3: the contract completed, it's not failed, you know, And then
- 46:46Speaker 3: they're like, oh, yeah, I did get my kids out,
- 46:48Speaker 3: you know, my kids did come into the world. Or
- 46:50Speaker 3: you know, it's not about like an endpoint, like well
- 46:53Speaker 3: you made it to your whole life and your marriage
- 46:55Speaker 3: was a success. It's like it's a living, breathing entity.
- 46:59Speaker 3: You know, there are days that you and I think
- 47:01Speaker 3: about leaving each other probably or you know, it's like
- 47:05Speaker 3: it's like it's.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Moving all the time. You have to check in, like
- 47:09Speaker 2: what's going on. It's a living thing.
- 47:11Speaker 3: So it's about being in the flow and understanding that.
- 47:15Speaker 3: You know, relationship is a wonderful place for transformation because
- 47:20Speaker 3: it will reflect all of your issues right back at you.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that that subject of stasis and flow
- 47:29Speaker 1: is incredibly important in how we think about our relationships
- 47:35Speaker 1: to other human beings. But it's also applicable to everything.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I mean, I talk about this all the time with
- 47:40Speaker 1: respect to alcoholism. There is no stasis, Like every thought
- 47:45Speaker 1: you entertain, every interaction you have with another human being,
- 47:48Speaker 1: every behavior that you manifest is either moving you towards
- 47:53Speaker 1: a drink or away from a drink. There's no cruise control, like,
- 47:56Speaker 1: there's no there's nothing static ever in anything, not in
- 48:00Speaker 1: my relationship with you, not in my relationship with my alcoholism,
- 48:05Speaker 1: or anything. Everything is in motion. This table feels solid,
- 48:09Speaker 1: but it is molecules that are spinning and moving in
- 48:13Speaker 1: imperceptible ways. Everything is in flux all the time. And
- 48:16Speaker 1: I think if you can adopt this perspective that everything
- 48:21Speaker 1: is impermanent and that everything that you do, say how
- 48:26Speaker 1: you are is moving you towards what you desire or
- 48:30Speaker 1: away from it. And the greater appreciation you can have
- 48:34Speaker 1: for the fact that your relationships are always in flux
- 48:39Speaker 1: and are always a reflection of how you're approaching them,
- 48:44Speaker 1: then I think it allows people to have a greater
- 48:46Speaker 1: appreciation for what is most important.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Yeah, that's beautifully said, and just sort of ties it
- 48:54Speaker 3: back into how we beg on the podcast, and that's
- 48:56Speaker 3: what I'm saying. It's like everything is moving energy and
- 48:59Speaker 3: we are creating some experience all the time. We're casting
- 49:04Speaker 3: spells with our words, where you know, we're changing scenarios
- 49:08Speaker 3: with our thoughts, with our actions, and so ceremony is
- 49:13Speaker 3: a way to connect with that unseen energy that is
- 49:17Speaker 3: a part of that energetic experience as it starts to
- 49:21Speaker 3: move in shape. And so it does mean something if
- 49:24Speaker 3: I've taken a moment and held your hand, engazed into
- 49:28Speaker 3: your eyes and stated out loud to the universe and
- 49:31Speaker 3: to your heart that I love you, that I'm committed
- 49:34Speaker 3: to you, and I'm here to stand witness to your
- 49:38Speaker 3: glorious expression and evolution and that I am.
- 49:42Speaker 2: I am here, and I'm giving you that.
- 49:45Speaker 3: Voice that means something. It's not nothing, it means something deeply.
- 49:51Speaker 3: And so it's those acts and those little things or
- 49:56Speaker 3: ritualistic things that we do throughout the day and the
- 49:59Speaker 3: week and the days and the months that create a vision.
- 50:03Speaker 3: You know, it takes a life to become the seeds
- 50:07Speaker 3: for our life. We planted many many years ago, and
- 50:10Speaker 3: there's been countless ceremonies. Ones we've even forgotten that we're
- 50:14Speaker 3: just you know, the six of us out by a
- 50:17Speaker 3: fire or you know, some sacred event or something like that,
- 50:21Speaker 3: that we were we were cultivating the energy for what
- 50:25Speaker 3: our relationship is, what our marriage is, what our you know,
- 50:29Speaker 3: creative expressions are, and what our family life is. We've
- 50:32Speaker 3: been doing that all along with consistency.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's not a quid pro quo thing.
- 50:38Speaker 2: No, it's not a pill.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Doing this for a long time and it doesn't it
- 50:42Speaker 1: doesn't pay off in this you know, mathematical equation sort
- 50:47Speaker 1: of way, and it's not immediate and it doesn't show
- 50:51Speaker 1: up in the way or in the forum that you
- 50:53Speaker 1: would like it to or when you would like it to.
- 50:56Speaker 1: But I think it's more of a mindset and how
- 50:58Speaker 1: you approach your life that that provides your life with
- 51:03Speaker 1: greater depth than meaning just meaning.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that meaning and that connection definitely, and I think
- 51:07Speaker 3: that also. This is just to share a little bit
- 51:10Speaker 3: more about my benched two months sort of inner experience
- 51:15Speaker 3: that I've been in. I was really struck profoundly over
- 51:19Speaker 3: the amount of content that is being given into the
- 51:25Speaker 3: collective and knowing that thoughts are things, and that technology
- 51:28Speaker 3: takes up space. It's like when you feel into the
- 51:31Speaker 3: planetary grid or what's happening around the Earth with all
- 51:34Speaker 3: the output that's going out there, I felt a real
- 51:38Speaker 3: need for discernment, discernment for what information I'm I'm associated with,
- 51:45Speaker 3: what am I participating with, and how is that in
- 51:48Speaker 3: alignment with my divine design? And what is the highest use?
- 51:52Speaker 3: And so I felt very sort of I was given
- 51:57Speaker 3: pause actually because I've been experiencing in this in this time,
- 52:02Speaker 3: the beauty of having actual physical human friends and support
- 52:08Speaker 3: in my life.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Imagine that, Imagine that.
- 52:11Speaker 3: So I was working with my yoga therapist, Michael Manfredo who's.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Just a master at the body.
- 52:18Speaker 3: And he said he basically delivered me like a zen sword,
- 52:23Speaker 3: little you know, explosion.
- 52:25Speaker 2: Into my psyche and and it went like this.
- 52:27Speaker 3: I was just trying to stretch my leg in a
- 52:29Speaker 3: way and I was in my bedroom and I said,
- 52:32Speaker 3: oh my, you know, my leg won't reach, so I'll
- 52:34Speaker 3: move the mat and he said to.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Me, or we could move the bed.
- 52:40Speaker 3: And that just hit me so profoundly at so many levels.
- 52:44Speaker 3: And I kept hearing this tape in my head for
- 52:47Speaker 3: days afterwards, where I would say to myself, I dedicated
- 52:51Speaker 3: my life to moving the bed.
- 52:53Speaker 2: And I was.
- 52:54Speaker 3: Aware of the limited perspective that we have in our
- 52:59Speaker 3: you know, maybe human self of really what is going on,
- 53:02Speaker 3: and really thinking about fake news and how we're creating
- 53:06Speaker 3: these pockets of experience on Instagram and we think the
- 53:11Speaker 3: world is colored this way, and in fact, there's a
- 53:13Speaker 3: whole nother color happening in another area. And I was
- 53:19Speaker 3: just given pause, actually great pause. In addition being at
- 53:23Speaker 3: Revitalize this Wellness summit in June, which was extraordinary, I
- 53:29Speaker 3: was asked to give the blessing along with Shaman Durrek,
- 53:32Speaker 3: which was beautiful. And I also was taken aback at
- 53:38Speaker 3: the focus of mental illness and mental health being on
- 53:45Speaker 3: a trajectory of wanting to get it to the visibility
- 53:49Speaker 3: that cancer has in fifteen years. And this is like
- 53:54Speaker 3: we're trying to solve problems from a way of thinking
- 53:58Speaker 3: that is obsolete, that has proven that it is not working.
- 54:02Speaker 1: So explain to me your negative reaction to the idea
- 54:07Speaker 1: of a spotlight being on mental illness and the way
- 54:11Speaker 1: that it is on cancer.
- 54:12Speaker 3: So well, what we need is, and this is what
- 54:15Speaker 3: was brought into awareness, is we need tools and techniques
- 54:18Speaker 3: to facilitate humanity in clearing their trauma. Because all these
- 54:23Speaker 3: diseases and all these illnesses and imbalances are a spiritual crisis.
- 54:31Speaker 3: It's where it's originating. So if we had this connection,
- 54:36Speaker 3: this deep connection, we would understand that all life is divine,
- 54:40Speaker 3: and we would understand the power of thoughts and things
- 54:43Speaker 3: and ancestral traumas that are lodged in the body. So
- 54:47Speaker 3: the way that we become well, the way that we
- 54:50Speaker 3: enter into a state of expansion, is not by focusing
- 54:55Speaker 3: on the thing that we don't want. So you could
- 54:58Speaker 3: use cancer as a subject, and I apologize in advance
- 55:03Speaker 3: for anybody who has transcended cancer or become healthy or
- 55:08Speaker 3: even used you know, Western methods. You know, it's all
- 55:13Speaker 3: appropriate in different individuals experiences.
- 55:18Speaker 2: But I'm not one. I'm not marching for cancer.
- 55:22Speaker 3: I'm not wearing a pink ribbon to bring awareness to cancer.
- 55:25Speaker 3: I'm bringing my life into awareness of spiritual connection, which
- 55:31Speaker 3: is beyond any pill pharmaceutical And so this is the
- 55:35Speaker 3: problem because we have.
- 55:37Speaker 2: To be mature enough to stop playing that game.
- 55:41Speaker 3: And it's difficult because there's been a lot of suffering
- 55:45Speaker 3: and there's a lot of trauma around it. I don't
- 55:50Speaker 3: see that as the way through. So what I was
- 55:53Speaker 3: seeing is mental health being presented at the biggest wellness
- 55:57Speaker 3: summit in the country or maybe the world, and the
- 56:01Speaker 3: trajectory was in fifteen years, we'll have enough focus on it,
- 56:06Speaker 3: you know, the same amount of awareness it's cancer. But
- 56:09Speaker 3: is there a cure for cancer yet? And how many
- 56:12Speaker 3: billions of dollars are being made by pharmaceutical companies? And
- 56:17Speaker 3: where is the money in the line of the whole thing?
- 56:20Speaker 1: So well, I think there's a there's it's worth exploring
- 56:26Speaker 1: this a little bit more in depth. I mean, my
- 56:28Speaker 1: I kind of see that a little bit differently in that.
- 56:31Speaker 1: To be sure, you know, I'm of the perspective that
- 56:35Speaker 1: you know, mental health is it's not everything, but it's
- 56:39Speaker 1: almost everything. And we are in the midst of a
- 56:43Speaker 1: spiritual crisis of consciousness right now. I think that's driving
- 56:47Speaker 1: a lot of the insanity that we see in our culture.
- 56:51Speaker 1: And then kind of just beneath the surface is a
- 56:54Speaker 1: tremendous amount of of you know, I don't know if
- 56:59Speaker 1: you call it illness or a lack of mental and
- 57:02Speaker 1: emotional well being, so much so that you and I
- 57:07Speaker 1: both know, like you know, you can encounter people that
- 57:09Speaker 1: are seemingly high functioning and like they got their shit
- 57:13Speaker 1: together and they're productive and have good jobs and families
- 57:16Speaker 1: and have the two cars and the driveway and all that.
- 57:19Speaker 1: But if you can get them in a trusting place
- 57:23Speaker 1: where they allow themselves to be a little bit vulnerable
- 57:26Speaker 1: and you just poke them on the shoulder, it all
- 57:28Speaker 1: comes out and you realize that we're all carrying to
- 57:32Speaker 1: some degree, we're all carrying some form of trauma or
- 57:36Speaker 1: or you know, I don't like that word mental illness,
- 57:39Speaker 1: but you know, we're not all completely mentally and emotionally healthy.
- 57:43Speaker 1: We all have our We all have our battles that
- 57:46Speaker 1: we're waiting and things that we're trying to overcome. And
- 57:49Speaker 1: I think there is something to be said for a
- 57:51Speaker 1: greater appreciation for the fact that this is something that
- 57:56Speaker 1: we need to consider in a different way, or at
- 58:00Speaker 1: least raise awareness that this is actually what's going on
- 58:04Speaker 1: in terms of how we treat that and how we
- 58:06Speaker 1: communicate about that. That's a different conversation.
- 58:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean absolutely, and I get that part of it.
- 58:14Speaker 3: And yes, mental illness is not discussed, and it's all
- 58:18Speaker 3: around us and in every other family that you come
- 58:21Speaker 3: upon has some level, you know.
- 58:24Speaker 2: So it is.
- 58:26Speaker 3: What I mean to say is that the solution is
- 58:28Speaker 3: not in the methods that have not.
- 58:30Speaker 2: Been serving us.
- 58:32Speaker 3: And so what it did is it brought into my
- 58:34Speaker 3: awareness the need for spiritual tools, spiritual tools that are
- 58:39Speaker 3: free of isms, that allow people to reclaim their freedom
- 58:43Speaker 3: and to live a life of prevention, a life of
- 58:46Speaker 3: celebration of true.
- 58:48Speaker 2: Health and wellness.
- 58:49Speaker 3: And that's in all areas physically, spiritually, emotionally. I just
- 58:55Speaker 3: don't see the trajectory. It doesn't give me hope to
- 58:58Speaker 3: see somebody say in fifteen years, that's too many people
- 59:01Speaker 3: for me.
- 59:03Speaker 2: You know, that's.
- 59:03Speaker 3: Somebody's brother, child, son, you know, daughter, and so it's
- 59:08Speaker 3: a little hard for it. It's difficult for me because
- 59:10Speaker 3: I know by even saying this, you know it's I'm
- 59:13Speaker 3: going to get you know, there's going to be blowback
- 59:15Speaker 3: and people are going to be you know, like freaking out,
- 59:18Speaker 3: and I have to step into.
- 59:20Speaker 2: A place where I live my truth.
- 59:23Speaker 3: You know.
- 59:23Speaker 2: It's like, this is what I do.
- 59:26Speaker 3: You know, I assist people in transition, I assist people
- 59:30Speaker 3: in clearing trauma.
- 59:32Speaker 2: I this is my divine design. This is what I do.
- 59:36Speaker 3: This is what I did for you, This is what
- 59:38Speaker 3: I did over all those years, and this is what
- 59:41Speaker 3: fruited the transformation and realization in your life. And you
- 59:45Speaker 3: with you in agreement with me, I mean you're we're
- 59:49Speaker 3: we're in together, you know, at many, many, many levels.
- 59:52Speaker 3: So I don't mean that you know, you're every bit
- 59:55Speaker 3: as in this with me as I am. But what
- 59:58Speaker 3: I'm just saying is it's just a crisis of spirituality.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: And what I would say is, you know, there is
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: a place where you've watched everything on Netflix and there's
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: nothing left. There is a place where you've gone to
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: every concert or you've eaten every chocolate cake, Like what then?
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: You know, it's like there's so much more.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: That's a conversation that we've had a bunch of times
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: where it's sort of like, all right, well, we're in
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: our fifties, Like everything is kind of like really another
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: superhero movie, Like is there anything that we can get?
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Are we just over it now? Like what's next? Where's
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: the meaning? Where's the depth?
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: Yeah? And the thing is is the life is precious.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: You know, life is so precious and sacred. I mean,
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: this is a profound moment in history, and we need everyone,
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: We need everybody to be more of who they are.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: So please don't misunderstand.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: I value and honor everybody's individual choice to live there
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: like life as they choose.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: It is their right.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: I just feel like it is time for us to
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: stop playing the old record, and there's all this other
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: energy that's available to us, and so let's start looking
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: into that, let's start embracing that, and let's find a
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: way to health and wholeness and wellness that is.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Merged in spiritual awareness.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: So it's all all of the life, not just half
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: of the life.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: So if somebody is listening to this and they're feeling
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: stuck in their life. They feel like they're ready for
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: some form of transformation, whether physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: You know, one of the things that I've realized is
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: that there's this cavernous gap between information and action. You know,
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: you go to the airport, there's eight thousand self help
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: books on the shelf. Like obviously, people love this stuff.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: They love to read about self help. They want to
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: learn more about how they can change their life in
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: positive ways, whether it's financial or interpersonal or what have you.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: And every month there's a new crop of these books. Right,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: there's an insatiable audience for this information. And yet when
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: you can canvass the population, you see a lot of
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: people who are suffering in all of these different ways,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: who are still hamstrung, paralyzed, and unable to put that information,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: presuming it's good information, into action in a way that
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: catalyzes that transformation that we all seek.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: And this is getting back to what I would answer,
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: is this need for personal skin on skin contact. We
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: need actual human beings that are in our communities, that
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: are you know, that have mastered some aspect of consciousness,
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: whether it's a yoga thing, therapists, whether it's an acupuncturist,
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: whether it's a physician of Chinese medicine. I have you
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: know a body worker who is an artist that's been
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: working with my body for ten years.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: One of my closest friends, Scion.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: You can't get this on social media, you can't get
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: it in a book, there's no hacking, there's no tips.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: It's like, in order to really mature spiritually, you have
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: to go through the experiences. And I also think in spirituality,
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: it's quite interesting how we have this program inside of
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: us that makes us not want to pay for anything spiritual. Right,
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: So the minute somebody wants to charge something, there is
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: a recoil like, oh, careful yet, you'll go pay your dentist,
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: you know, twenty thousand dollars to fix your tooth. But
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: a skilled spiritual therapist can accomplish maybe twenty years of
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: therapy in just a few sessions or maybe even one session.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: So it's like we're working with energetics. It's actually an
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: energetic and so I would say reach out in your community,
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: you know, look, find you know, try to commune with somebody.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: You know. I am doing limited personal sessions, and that's
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: not why you know I'm talking about this, but you
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: can email me. There's only one of me, and I
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: am teaching retreats now, you know, one on one retreats.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: I am working on a program that I will be
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: able to share that will be something that you know,
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: the population at large can follow. That's one of the
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: reasons why I've taken the break. But I'm really discerning
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: how to distill it down in the most simple way
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: so that somebody can take these tools and go, oh,
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: my my dad is dying.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: What do I do?
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: You know, how do I present for that? Or I've
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: been diagnosed with ternal disease? How do I process that?
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: And I want to also just make sure that it's
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: clear everybody's journey is unique to them and them alone.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: It is about taking self responsibility. There is no one
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: size fits all, There is no not that it doesn't exist.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: So you have to take responsibility for your life, just
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: how we've been talking about with health and with not
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: eating processed foods and not drinking you know, milk or dairy.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: You know, you have to take your own responsibility. No
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: one's going to save you. You have to do it.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: But if you're committed to that and you're committed to
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: know yourself. There are many beautiful people alive on the
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: planet that are offering support in that way.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: One of the things that I love about this podcast
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: is that it's creating community. It's creating a community of
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: like minded individuals, many of which feel alone in their community,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: like they're not. You know, we live in Los Angeles,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: like these resources are abundant and accessible to us. But
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: if you're living in a remote area where you know,
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: the conversations that you're having at the local coffee shop,
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: you know, don't reflect this kind of thing, and there
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: is no scion body worker. You know that that person
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: is going to be able to access in their community.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: You know, what do you say to that person? And
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: are there, like some online resources that you can recommend
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: or places that you go where you can learn more
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: about these ideas and perhaps find you know, people who
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: can you know, serve these these goals for you in
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: your own community.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: I guess what I would say is those people do
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: exist in your own community, and the same way with
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: spiritual awareness or exploration, when you turn your face to
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: the divine, to the unseen, it will meet you one
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: thousand percent.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: So I will say search go ask go find that.
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: Grandmother that is the you know, is the medicinal healer
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: that you know is hidden down the street. Start asking
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: once you have the will, do you remember how you
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: used to tell me like it wouldn't matter what party
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: we would walk into and you would say, you know, now, babe,
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: it'd be good for you, like not to talk, you know,
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: don't say anything about your experience last night. And I
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: would literally walk into these parties and the one person
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: that was like me would be standing next to me,
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: and three minutes later we'd be in a full blown
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: multi dimensional conversation.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: And for the record, that came off like I try
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: to edit you now or I'm trying to like man
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: splain or something like that, like please, you.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Know, no, no, no, but you had like a comfort level,
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: but like so people are like really not like if I.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: Could explain and not man explaining, what I would say is, look, Julie,
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: the Julie that you're hearing right now is a rather
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: tempered version of Julie. Like she's out there, Like you're
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: out there in a big way, and you can go
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: all the way to the mat and some pretty out
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: there ideas And so my own personal This is a
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: reflection of me, not you, like my own insecurity, like
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: oh my god, like Julie like goes down the rabbit
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: hole like talking to person X, like like they're going
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: to think, like, know, she's crazy your I know, Oh
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: my god, I must be crazy.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: That's my own bullshit, Like let's be clear, right, Okay,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: my own insecurity and all of that. But I do
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: admit like I copped you, like like like if she
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: goes in and starts that, like it's like whoa, you know,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: like what's she going to say next?
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Exactly?
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: But normally I would find the vibe of the person.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: So I just offer that. And because of that reason,
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: it's really not appropriate for me to share certain resources
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: online because it just wouldn't be appropriate to the mass.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: But what I would say is if anybody's feeling like
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: you want more information, you can just email me directly
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: and then I'll feel into your energy signature and I'll
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: offer something that's specific for you.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: So my email is Shrimati music at gmail dot com.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: S r I m Ati Music at gmail dot com. Also,
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: I am doing a retreat called Beloved at Miami's Sacred
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: and it's November eighth to the eleventh of this year.
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: It's an amazing program three and a half days. If
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: you want to come and work with me one on one,
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: I will be there. Also, I'm doing my first self
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: mastery course. This is a very exclusive life activation. It's
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: in fact me going into ceremony and activating, facilitating for
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: you the expression of your highest divine mission, much in
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: the same way that I've done for rich for myself
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: and for my family. This is taking place on Gozo
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: in the month of October October ten, Gozo near Malta.
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: It's the island next to Malta, so you fly into
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: Malta October ten to thirteen.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: I'm only accepting eight people. It's a very exclusive mastery group.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: If you feel like that's your divine appointment, you can
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: call me as well and I'll ask you to.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Write something up for me and we'll see about that.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: That was some good self promotion.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: Sorry, well you asked.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: I mean, I was like, oh my god, yeah no,
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: And I mean the other thing is true, I mean truly.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: The reason that I've taken this break is I'm literally
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: in the biggest research moment of my life. I've this level,
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: this need for discernment is it's in my veins, like
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: I'm feeling.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: The need to be explain what you mean by discernment.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: When you say discernment, you're talking about your relationship to
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: the world and social media.
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: Discernment is what energy am I sharing? What am I doing,
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: why am I doing it? And is it in the
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: highest divine alignment. I'm keenly aware of personality programs right now.
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: I can actually see them as separate energies in people.
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: It's very weird.
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: I'm wondering, like I don't want to I don't want
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: to create more karma for myself obviously, and I don't
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: want to share things that are not landing the way
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: that I want them to, or that are not the
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: most effective. So I'm looking for the simplest, most efficient
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: way for me to express myself authentically. So that is
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: going to be divine through line is going to be reborn,
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: and it's going to have a new format.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: You haven't podcasted in a while.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: I hadn't put up a podcast in like two or
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: three months, who which is crazy because I love that forum.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: But it's really really important for me to get my bearings.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: So I'm going to be sharing on that a lot.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: I'm going to develop a program which allows people to
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: deal with trauma.
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: How do you deal with trauma?
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: My clients that come to me, they always tell me
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: their biggest, darkest secret. And let me just tell you,
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: this culture is rampant with sexual abuse, addiction, violence. It's just,
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: you know, so many people are dealing with so much trauma.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: And it can be cleared easily.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: We can disconnect from these energies and claim freedom of
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: who we are. So that is my heart and my
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: intention when I speak about these other paradigms, that they
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: have to come down and we have to step into
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: our spiritual power.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: We have to.
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: The other thing is is that I'm working on a
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: new body of music because the music doesn't take any mind.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: You wouldn't have to subscribe to it. You would just
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: hear it and the vibration would then have an activation
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: for whatever, whoever my tribe is, whoever is vibing with me,
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: whoever feels aligned or is listening to my voice, who
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: is like feeling Yes, if you don't feel that, then
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: you should go far away and find someone else, like
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: please Like it's there's so many people in so many
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: different energies you know on the planet that you should
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: be aligned with only that which truly resonates with who
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: you are. And so I have no attachment to, no
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: opinion about anything other than I am fulfilling my life mission.
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: And now that I have a lot of things in play,
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: and you know, you're launching into your next amazing expression.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: And all the amazing work that you've done, Babe, over
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: these years, it's really extraordinary.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: It's just extraordinary.
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: And I know because I read all the letters that
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: you guys send into him, and it's been an extraordinary
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: light in lantern for so many people. And so thank
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: you for everything that you've done.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: I appreciate that. And like I said at the outset,
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: it's been amazing to watch you kind of bloom, blossom
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: and grow. And we've been talking for you know, I
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: don't know, an hour and fifteen twenty minutes, and we
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: haven't talked at all about you being a vegan chef
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: or vegan cheese or any of the things that people
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: traditionally know you know about you or when they think
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: about you, that's what they that's the association, like you're
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: really kind of that's a part of who you are.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: But the real essence of who you are, I think
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: is what you've conveyed.
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's it's been again, like a rebirth. I'm
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: sort of collecting other aspects of my of my life form.
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: And one thing that I'm really excited about is that
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: I've stepped into a collective with some extraordinary artists who
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: are all very very developed fashion designers. And I can't
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: really speak about it right now except I have a
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: vision for a future cature movement and uh, and so
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: I've been in, you know, in process. That's one of
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: the big things that's been coming through. And it's a
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: it's a relief. It feels like water to my cells.
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: Some of you may not know what. I was a
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: fashion designer and had my own collection, my own hundred
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: piece collection for quite a few years, and uh, it's
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: it's just.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: In my blood.
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: It's who it's who I am.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: And I always talk about searching for Sugarman when they
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: find Rodrigo and he's painting houses. Yeah, Rodriguez, sorry, and
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: he he's painting houses. Buddi's dressed like Bob Dylan. I'm
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: like dude, I'm like dude, that's my dude.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: Like for sure.
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: So again, it's like in this spiritual exploration, it's embodying
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: our life is about cherishing and honoring every part of
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: your personality, and that's a part of my personality.
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: That I love and adore.
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: I love it, and these other artists friends of mine,
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: they love an adore fashion as well, and so that's
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: been a super exciting opportunity because fashion has the potential
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: to shift culture and so I've got some really cool
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: ideas and they've got some really cool ideas and energetics.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: On how we could do that.
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: And it feels awesome to be in a club with
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: three people that I adore so completely as these three individuals.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: So there'll be more about that, but it's been Oh
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: and the other thing that's crazy is that our daughter
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: Math is a starting art school next week, and so
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: we're going to be commuting east of downtown and one
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: of us staying downtown with her in a loft for
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: health time. Life is going to change, yeah, but as
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: a as a part of that, and Tyler, my son,
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: was telling me, you know, mom, it's going to be
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: great because it's going to reignite all your your artistic
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: you know expression. And I used to draw and sculpt
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: and paint and haven't been doing that for quite a while.
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: So I actually pulled out my drawings from under my
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: bed and math has helped me edit it. And I'm
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: just feeling so alive in every single aspect of my being.
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: But don't worry, we are launching cheese that is coming,
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: so uh so stay tuned with that. But anyway, it's
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: a it's a glorious time to be alive, and I'm
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: super happy to be here and to be your beloved partner.
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: Uh from Afar from Afar, as you're in.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: The tenth and I'm across from me right now, I know,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: all right, well, we gotta we gotta wind this down.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: Parting words for the person who still suffers.
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: What I would say parting words and the thing that
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: I if I can do anything in my expression this life,
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: it is to provide the possibility of another way, the
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: possibility of another perspective. And what I would say, no
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: matter what you're struggling with, no matter what action has
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: manifested in your life, be it addiction, be it anything abuse,
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: sexual abuse, any imbalance that has been plaguing you, I
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: would just tell you that I am holding the vision
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: of your purest essence for you and understand that your
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: action is not you. Many times we are processing these
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: attributes for our ancestral lines, and a lot of it
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: is hereditary, some of it is core foundational to who
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: you are as a being.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: But I would just.
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: Say that you are a divine, precious expression of consciousness
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: and I will hold you in that vision until you
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: can feel it for yourself.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: And is there anything that that person can do in
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: the meantime.
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: I think it's the relief.
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: I think the recognition, it's a recognition of knowing, of
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: knowing that they are so much more than their experience.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: That was what was what I was trying to offer
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: that statement.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, well, pleasure to spend a couple hours.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: With you, beautiful to be on the r RP.
