- 0:59Speaker 4: Once again, this is your brother. Listen to His Hop
- 1:02Speaker 4: and I want to welcome you to the His Hob
- 1:05Speaker 4: Radio podcasts. We present our verse by verse Bible study.
- 1:12Speaker 4: This is where we open the word at God, where
- 1:14Speaker 4: we look at it thoroughly, we comb over it with
- 1:18Speaker 4: the fine comb. Today we're gonna be in Jeremiah chapter
- 1:21Speaker 4: seventeen and we're gonna look at verses one through thirteen.
- 1:26Speaker 4: It's gonna be a powerful section of scripture today. Today,
- 1:30Speaker 4: Jeremiah is gonna get right to the heart of the problem.
- 1:35Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:36Speaker 4: This is where they put their trust, and this is
- 1:40Speaker 4: where we gotta be careful. We have to examine where
- 1:43Speaker 4: are we putting our trust as well. Their sin will
- 1:50Speaker 4: be exposed and God will always warn us before consequences
- 1:57Speaker 4: hit our lives man. Trusting in human flesh is always
- 2:06Speaker 4: a bad plan. It's a bad idea because God has
- 2:09Speaker 4: everything that we need. We don't need to turn to
- 2:13Speaker 4: the left or to the right. And God is trying
- 2:16Speaker 4: to draw us in and draw us closer to Him. Amen.
- 2:23Speaker 4: So we're going to talk about sin, trust, the human heart.
- 2:27Speaker 4: We're going to talk about prosperity, spiritual roots, and ultimately
- 2:32Speaker 4: where our hope needs to be. So bucket you see,
- 2:39Speaker 4: Belts is going to be a nice little ride today.
- 2:43Speaker 4: And also I want to invite you to join us
- 2:45Speaker 4: in a life chat. This is where we encourage each other.
- 2:49Speaker 4: This is where we connect. This is actually where we
- 2:52Speaker 4: apply what we learn in the Word of God.
- 2:54Speaker 6: Right.
- 2:55Speaker 4: God wants us to fellowship with one another. He wants
- 2:58Speaker 4: iron and sharp and iron. The Bible says that our
- 3:01Speaker 4: hearts are evil and desperately wicked. Who can know it?
- 3:05Speaker 4: And so our accountability Partner segment on this podcast is
- 3:10Speaker 4: designed to keep us on that narrow path that leads
- 3:13Speaker 4: to life. He cannot trust the evil dictates of our
- 3:17Speaker 4: own hearts, and so it's good for us to have
- 3:21Speaker 4: people that can speak the word of God when we
- 3:24Speaker 4: have some crazy thoughts some crazy thing we want to
- 3:27Speaker 4: do right, crazy desire that's just overwhelming us. Some of
- 3:33Speaker 4: us are like inches away of doing something crazy, you
- 3:37Speaker 4: know what I mean. It's good to call that brother,
- 3:39Speaker 4: that sister up and say hey, I want to go
- 3:41Speaker 4: do this. This is what I'm tempted with, and then
- 3:45Speaker 4: we can pray together get the victory. And also we
- 3:50Speaker 4: knew our minds. Amen. So go to the top level menu,
- 3:55Speaker 4: hit that drop down and then.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Go over.
- 4:00Speaker 4: To the life Chat. Type in your username, email address,
- 4:04Speaker 4: and password. And once you log in, give us a
- 4:07Speaker 4: shout out and we will say welcome to the family.
- 4:13Speaker 4: We appreciate y'all, and we will shout you out right back. Now,
- 4:21Speaker 4: let's go before our father, heavenly Father, thank you for
- 4:25Speaker 4: your presence, Oh God, thank you for your presence on
- 4:28Speaker 4: this podcast. Father God. We ask Lord that you will
- 4:31Speaker 4: use this Father God, that you will use your word,
- 4:34Speaker 4: Father God, to penetrate the hearts, the minds, and the
- 4:38Speaker 4: souls of your people. Father God, we are looking for
- 4:42Speaker 4: the one. The word says you leave the ninety nine
- 4:45Speaker 4: to save the one. So we ask Father God, oh Lord,
- 4:49Speaker 4: Holla lujah, Father God, that you will use this podcast
- 4:52Speaker 4: to bring your children home. Oh God, Oh Lord, help
- 4:56Speaker 4: us everyone listening, Oh God, under the sound of my voice. God,
- 5:00Speaker 4: let us be ready when you return. Yes, Lord, hallelujah.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Let this podcast help your people to be ready because
- 5:10Speaker 4: we know that your return is coming soon. We thank
- 5:14Speaker 4: you and we praise you in Jesus' name. Amen. All right,
- 5:22Speaker 4: So we are starting chapter seventeen. I love it every
- 5:27Speaker 4: time we get to start a new chapter. It's a
- 5:30Speaker 4: great accomplishment. We get to progress and go forward and
- 5:35Speaker 4: the word of God together. And so let's read verse
- 5:44Speaker 4: one through four, and it says, the sin of Judah
- 5:48Speaker 4: is written with a pen of iron. Now that's the issue,
- 5:54Speaker 4: but the point of a diamond. It is engraved on
- 5:58Speaker 4: the tablet of their hearts, and on the horns of
- 6:03Speaker 4: your altars, while your children remember their altars in their
- 6:09Speaker 4: wooden images, by the green tree on the high heels,
- 6:14Speaker 4: Oh my mountain in the field, I will give as
- 6:19Speaker 4: plunder your wealth, all your treasures, and your high places
- 6:26Speaker 4: of sin, within all of your borders. And you even yourself,
- 6:33Speaker 4: shall let go of your heritage which I gave you.
- 6:38Speaker 4: And I will cause you to serve your enemies in
- 6:42Speaker 4: the land which you do not know for you have
- 6:46Speaker 4: kindled a fire in my anger which shall burn forever. Wow,
- 6:55Speaker 4: that's hell, right there, a fire of his anger that
- 7:00Speaker 4: will burn forever. And it says that you will kindle it.
- 7:07Speaker 4: You have kindle it.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Man.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Well, let's break it down now, Jeremiah here opens this
- 7:18Speaker 4: chapter with some powerful imagery right here, right, God says
- 7:22Speaker 4: Judas sin is engraved with a pen of iron and
- 7:27Speaker 4: written with the point of a diamond. Those are some
- 7:31Speaker 4: of the hardest substance on the earth. Now, think about that.
- 7:36Speaker 4: This isn't something temporary that he is saying. Their rebellion
- 7:41Speaker 4: has become deeply embedded in their lives. Their sin wasn't
- 7:45Speaker 4: just something they occasionally did. It wasn't something that they
- 7:50Speaker 4: just struggled with from time to time. It became a
- 7:54Speaker 4: part of their lifestyle. Their hearts have become attached to
- 8:00Speaker 4: their idols. Idol worship, right, we talked about it. We
- 8:04Speaker 4: talked about how they would build statues and they would
- 8:08Speaker 4: worship ball bowl worship. And so these false guys were
- 8:13Speaker 4: embedded deep into their hearts. And God says that their
- 8:19Speaker 4: children were following the same pattern.
- 8:23Speaker 6: It looks like you lost another one.
- 8:25Speaker 4: So we have to be careful. I've heard it said
- 8:29Speaker 4: that the things that we do in moderation, our children
- 8:31Speaker 4: will do with excess excessively. Right now, sin had become
- 8:41Speaker 4: deeply rooted in the people. Their ideology wasn't just like
- 8:49Speaker 4: an outward practice that they did it. It became something
- 8:52Speaker 4: written in their hearts. And when something comes into your heart,
- 8:57Speaker 4: that's where we really need to be concerned. We need
- 8:59Speaker 4: to fight the battle and win our hearts, keep our
- 9:03Speaker 4: hearts clean for the Lord, our God. And what they
- 9:09Speaker 4: worshiped shows you what they value. What do you value
- 9:14Speaker 4: in life? Well, then you got to ask yourself, what
- 9:17Speaker 4: do you worship? What do you give most of your
- 9:20Speaker 4: time to? What is the reason or what motivates you
- 9:25Speaker 4: to wake up in the morning. That's a good indicator
- 9:29Speaker 4: of what your heart may be worshiping. But let's bring
- 9:36Speaker 4: this home, right, what is written on your heart? Because
- 9:42Speaker 4: what controls your heart eventually will control your life. You
- 9:48Speaker 4: can say that you love God, you can wear a
- 9:51Speaker 4: cross on your neck, you can listen to Christian music. Right,
- 9:56Speaker 4: you can go to church, But what do your choices reveal?
- 10:06Speaker 4: What gets your time, what gets all of your attention?
- 10:11Speaker 4: What do you give your money to? And what are
- 10:16Speaker 4: you loyal to? Are you loyal to the block? You
- 10:21Speaker 4: want to represent your city? You willing to lay down
- 10:26Speaker 4: your life for that, but you don't want to lay
- 10:31Speaker 4: down your life of Christ. These are some strong questions
- 10:36Speaker 4: we need to ask ourselves, because what you worship will
- 10:39Speaker 4: eventually show up in your life. You will live it out.
- 10:47Speaker 4: You will live it out. And this is why the
- 10:51Speaker 4: Lord was upset with Judah. God is the only one
- 10:57Speaker 4: who's worthy to have that place in our hearts. Man,
- 11:02Speaker 4: all right? Five and six, Thus says the Lord. Curse
- 11:07Speaker 4: is a man who trusts in man and makes flesh
- 11:11Speaker 4: his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord. For he
- 11:18Speaker 4: shall be like a shrub in the desert. He shall
- 11:23Speaker 4: not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the partch
- 11:29Speaker 4: places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is
- 11:35Speaker 4: not inhabited. Wow, all right, this is a very strong description.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Now the danger of trusting in men. Now we get
- 11:51Speaker 4: one of the major themes of this passage. Right here,
- 11:54Speaker 4: God says, cursed be the man that trusts in man
- 11:59Speaker 4: and make it flesh his arm, and whose heart departs
- 12:04Speaker 4: from the Lord. Right. God isn't saying we should never
- 12:09Speaker 4: trust another person he's warning against making human beings our
- 12:16Speaker 4: ultimate source of security. Amen, we should never make another
- 12:24Speaker 4: human being an ultimate source of security. Husband or wife,
- 12:32Speaker 4: especially a wife who does not work. She may be
- 12:35Speaker 4: a stay at home mom and she looks to her
- 12:39Speaker 4: husband to provide everything. Your husband is ultimately not your provider.
- 12:47Speaker 4: You can't ultimately put your trust in him. You need
- 12:50Speaker 4: to learn or develop a prayer life and know that
- 12:55Speaker 4: God is the provider, that God will take care of
- 13:01Speaker 4: you and the rest of the family.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:05Speaker 4: I mean, I'm just saying there's a healthy balance. There's
- 13:07Speaker 4: nothing wrong with a husband taking care of his wife
- 13:10Speaker 4: and children. But I'm just saying, don't make that an idol.
- 13:14Speaker 4: He is not your ultimate source. He's a source, but
- 13:17Speaker 4: not the ultimate source.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Even on our jobs we go to work, we think
- 13:23Speaker 4: our boss, we think our job is the ultimate source.
- 13:27Speaker 4: They are a source, but not the ultimate source. God
- 13:31Speaker 4: is the one who gave us those jobs. God is
- 13:34Speaker 4: the one who opened those doors. Hey man, Now there's
- 13:40Speaker 4: a difference between appreciating people and depending on people more
- 13:48Speaker 4: than we depend on God. Like I said, your spouse
- 13:54Speaker 4: cannot be your God. Your pastor cannot be your God.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Your employer cannot be your God. That government cannot be
- 14:02Speaker 4: your God. Money cannot be your God. Amen, And even
- 14:09Speaker 4: your own abilities cannot be your God. Now, there's a
- 14:16Speaker 4: contrast between trusting in human resources and trusting in God.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Human strength is limited and it is temporary. When our
- 14:28Speaker 4: confidence rests entirely on people, our circumstances, we're vulnerable when
- 14:37Speaker 4: things start to fall apart. Now, I've been on this
- 14:43Speaker 4: earth long enough to know that people will disappoint, sometimes
- 14:49Speaker 4: intentionally or unintentionally, but God never stops being God. People
- 14:55Speaker 4: will change, jobs will change, economies will change. I believe
- 14:59Speaker 4: we are experiencing that in the United States right now.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Relationships will change, your health, your circumstances, your opportunities, everything
- 15:10Speaker 4: around you can change. But God doesn't change. That's why
- 15:15Speaker 4: your foundation can't be what is constantly moving. We need
- 15:25Speaker 4: to place our feet up on the rock. Amen. All right,
- 15:35Speaker 4: let's do verse seven through eight. Bless it is a
- 15:39Speaker 4: man who trusted the Lord, and whose hope is in
- 15:43Speaker 4: the Lord, For he shall be like a tree planted
- 15:47Speaker 4: by the waters. Does that sound familiar. There's a song.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Hey man, if you've been in church for a while,
- 15:56Speaker 4: you've heard this song or tree playing it by the water,
- 15:58Speaker 4: and also in the book of Psalms. This is a
- 16:02Speaker 4: great picture.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I love it.
- 16:04Speaker 4: A treat planet by the water, which spreads out its
- 16:06Speaker 4: roots by the river, and will not fear when he comes.
- 16:11Speaker 4: But its leaves will be green and will not be
- 16:15Speaker 4: anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from
- 16:20Speaker 4: yielding fruit. Amen. Now, remember God always wants us to
- 16:26Speaker 4: bear fruit. He's always looking at our lives, and he's
- 16:30Speaker 4: always looking for fruit. Amen. Now here's a contrast from
- 16:40Speaker 4: trusting in people. Blessed are those who trust in God. Now,
- 16:47Speaker 4: so Jeremiah is going to give the other side of
- 16:49Speaker 4: the picture. Blessed is a man that trust in the Lord,
- 16:53Speaker 4: in whose hope is the Lord's This he gives us
- 17:01Speaker 4: a beautiful picture right here. A person who trusts God
- 17:07Speaker 4: is like a tree planted by the waters. How refreshing
- 17:11Speaker 4: that is. Amen, trust me. I live in Las Vegas.
- 17:15Speaker 4: I live in a desert.
- 17:16Speaker 2: We love water.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Every time I go to California, man, I'm trying to
- 17:21Speaker 4: jump in the beach, or every time we travel, I'm
- 17:24Speaker 4: looking for water, right because we really don't have We
- 17:27Speaker 4: don't have an ocean out here where we can go surf,
- 17:31Speaker 4: So this is refreshing right here, a tree planted by
- 17:34Speaker 4: the water. When the heat comes, the tree doesn't panic
- 17:39Speaker 4: when drought comes. It does not die. And why is that?
- 17:43Speaker 4: Because it's roots have access to a source deeper than
- 17:48Speaker 4: the circumstance around it. Let me say that again. This
- 17:53Speaker 4: tree has roots that go down so far it access
- 18:00Speaker 4: to a source deeper than the circumstance around it. Now
- 18:04Speaker 4: that's powerful. Now, notice something. God doesn't promise that the
- 18:10Speaker 4: heat won't come, right It says that the tree doesn't
- 18:14Speaker 4: fear the heat, so the heat came. He didn't even
- 18:18Speaker 4: promise that there wouldn't be a drought. He promised that
- 18:21Speaker 4: the person who trust him can remain fruitful during their drought.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Let me ask you a question. Have you examined your
- 18:32Speaker 4: fruit lately? Are you remaining fruitful? I'm asking myself this question.
- 18:38Speaker 4: Am I remaining fruitful in the midst of this circumstance,
- 18:42Speaker 4: in the midst.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Of this drought?
- 18:46Speaker 4: Now that is a completely different kind of blessing right here.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Being blessed doesn't mean everything goes your way. Being blessed
- 18:58Speaker 4: means you have a that circumstances cannot destroy.
- 19:05Speaker 2: You.
- 19:05Speaker 4: Say that again, blessing means you have a source that
- 19:09Speaker 4: your circumstances cannot destroy. We got a secrets stash, belove it.
- 19:15Speaker 4: The world don't understand it. To the world, they're confused,
- 19:19Speaker 4: but they don't know why. We don't trip out, We
- 19:21Speaker 4: don't fear, We don't get all worried. Right, even if
- 19:27Speaker 4: you lose your job, God still is God. And if
- 19:34Speaker 4: you have God, you have all that you need. You
- 19:38Speaker 4: can go through a difficult season and still have God.
- 19:44Speaker 4: You can be in, You can be criticized by people
- 19:51Speaker 4: close to you and still have God. You can be
- 19:53Speaker 4: rejected and still have God. Your roots can still grow deep,
- 20:01Speaker 4: you can still connect to the source. Think about this.
- 20:05Speaker 4: A tree doesn't survive a drought because it complains about
- 20:11Speaker 4: the drought.
- 20:12Speaker 5: Right.
- 20:13Speaker 4: You don't see a tree complaining and get upset because
- 20:17Speaker 4: there's a drought and they're lacking water. It survives because
- 20:20Speaker 4: it's roots are connected to water, deep down in the ground.
- 20:27Speaker 4: And that's the question for us right here. What are
- 20:30Speaker 4: your roots connected to? Hey man, are you connected to
- 20:36Speaker 4: something deeper than your situation, deeper than your circumstance? Verse nine.
- 20:45Speaker 4: The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked
- 20:51Speaker 4: who can know it? Now, this scripture is a scripture
- 20:54Speaker 4: that I mean, I quoted a lot, and now we
- 20:57Speaker 4: know where it comes from a man. Now we know
- 21:01Speaker 4: it's Jeremiah, chapter seventeen, verse nine. The heart is deceitful
- 21:08Speaker 4: above all things, and desperately wicked. Who can know it?
- 21:12Speaker 4: This is the reason why we have the accountability partner
- 21:15Speaker 4: segment right here. You read it for yourself, and I
- 21:19Speaker 4: pray that you don't just skip over this really quick. Now, come,
- 21:28Speaker 4: let's come to this most quoted scripture right here and
- 21:32Speaker 4: break it down. The heart is deceitful above all things,
- 21:36Speaker 4: and desperately wicked. Who can know it? This is a
- 21:39Speaker 4: warning we desperately need to look at today. We desperately
- 21:44Speaker 4: need to pay close attention to this. The world will
- 21:50Speaker 4: tell us to follow your heart, bad advice. God's word
- 21:56Speaker 4: tells us to be careful. Your heart can trip you up.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Your feelings are real, but your feelings aren't always reliable.
- 22:09Speaker 4: You can feel justified and still be wrong. You can
- 22:16Speaker 4: feel like something is right and still be walking outside
- 22:20Speaker 4: of God's will. And you can even convince yourself that
- 22:25Speaker 4: something is okay simply because you want it to be okay.
- 22:31Speaker 4: That is dangerous. Apart from God. The human heart is
- 22:46Speaker 4: desperately wicked. It is not a reliable guide when we
- 22:56Speaker 4: are apart from God, it's not a reliable guide for righteousness.
- 23:04Speaker 4: What we need, Beloved, is to e graph God's word.
- 23:10Speaker 4: We need God's word. We need God's spirit to examine
- 23:14Speaker 4: our hearts because we are capable of deceiving even ourselves.
- 23:23Speaker 4: That's why we don't build our faith on feelings, because
- 23:28Speaker 4: feelings change, but God's word doesn't change. God's word will
- 23:34Speaker 4: never change. So when you're feelings and God's word disagree,
- 23:43Speaker 4: don't rewrite the Bible to protect your feelings. No, let
- 23:49Speaker 4: God's word correct your feelings. That's maturity when we're able
- 23:57Speaker 4: to lay down what we want and what we desire
- 24:02Speaker 4: and allow our hearts to submit to the guidance of
- 24:06Speaker 4: the word of God. Amen. That's where God is trying
- 24:10Speaker 4: to bring us, and Beloved, God is still working on me. Versace.
- 24:18Speaker 4: I the Lord search the heart, I test the mind,
- 24:22Speaker 4: even to give every man according to his ways, according
- 24:27Speaker 4: to the fruit of his doings. And man, now, that's
- 24:32Speaker 4: something we need to memorize that we need to understand this.
- 24:37Speaker 4: The Bible will always tell us the heart is the issue.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Who can know it? But this verse answers the question.
- 24:52Speaker 4: Our heart Let me back up. Our heart is desperately wicked.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Who can know it? This scripture answers that question, says
- 25:00Speaker 4: that he knows it. He can search it, he can
- 25:05Speaker 4: test it. I the Lord search the heart and test
- 25:11Speaker 4: the reins. Now that is pretty thorough. God knows what's
- 25:17Speaker 4: underneath the source. He knows the motive behind the action.
- 25:24Speaker 4: He knows what nobody else can see.
- 25:29Speaker 5: See.
- 25:29Speaker 4: We can fool people, but we cannot fool God. God
- 25:33Speaker 4: sees right through us. But actually that's good news, beloved,
- 25:39Speaker 4: because the same God who sees our failures also sees
- 25:43Speaker 4: our pain, our struggles, our intentions, and our desire to change.
- 25:52Speaker 4: We do not have to hide from our heavenly Father.
- 25:55Speaker 4: We can come to him and be honest. Amen. Vers
- 26:03Speaker 4: last verse eleven.
- 26:07Speaker 2: As a.
- 26:10Speaker 4: Partridge that broods but does not hatch, so is he
- 26:18Speaker 4: who gets riches, but not by right. It will leave
- 26:24Speaker 4: him in the midst of his days and it and
- 26:29Speaker 4: at his end he will be a fool. Now, this
- 26:35Speaker 4: is a principle that we need to understand. Trying to
- 26:40Speaker 4: get rich the wrong way right see Jeremiah gives us
- 26:44Speaker 4: an illustration of someone who gains wealth dishonestly, and that's
- 26:51Speaker 4: the whole issue. Right there, a person is compared to
- 26:54Speaker 4: a bird sitting on eggs that they didn't lay. Eventually
- 27:02Speaker 4: those riches will disappear. Now, this is a warning against
- 27:13Speaker 4: believing that getting something means God approve the way that
- 27:20Speaker 4: you got it. So you can gain money and lose
- 27:25Speaker 4: your integrity. You can gain influence and lose your soul.
- 27:32Speaker 4: We see this happening every day. Almost You can gain
- 27:36Speaker 4: followers and lose your relationship with God, who wants that
- 27:41Speaker 4: has not worth it at all. Success isn't automatically evidence
- 27:45Speaker 4: of God's approval. Sometimes the question isn't did I get rich?
- 27:52Speaker 4: The question is how did I get rich? And what
- 27:57Speaker 4: did it cost me? That's good. I think that's some
- 28:02Speaker 4: people need to hear that. Amen. Verse twelve, A glorious
- 28:12Speaker 4: high throne. From the beginning is the place of our sanctuary,
- 28:19Speaker 4: Oh Lord, the Hope of Israel. All who forsake you
- 28:23Speaker 4: shall be ashamed. Those who depart from me shall be
- 28:29Speaker 4: written in the earth because they have forsaken the Lord.
- 28:36Speaker 4: The fountain of living water. I love how the Lord
- 28:42Speaker 4: will always refer to himself as the fountain of living water.
- 28:50Speaker 4: He's repeated that through the Book of Jeremiah. Amen, Now
- 29:01Speaker 4: the Lord is our hope. This passage closes by pointing
- 29:06Speaker 4: us back to God. Right, Jeremiah declares that God's glorious
- 29:11Speaker 4: throne is the place of our sanctuary. Then he says, Oh, Lord,
- 29:18Speaker 4: the hope of Israel. And that's where this whole passage
- 29:23Speaker 4: comes together, right here, right. Don't put your ultimate hope
- 29:27Speaker 4: in people. Don't put your hope in money, don't put
- 29:33Speaker 4: your hope in success. Don't put your hope even in
- 29:39Speaker 4: your own heart. Put your hope in the Lord, because
- 29:43Speaker 4: everything else can fail. And guess what God cannot fail. Amen,
- 29:50Speaker 4: God will never fail. Now let me ask you this.
- 29:55Speaker 4: If you had to sum up this entire passage in
- 30:00Speaker 4: one sentence, it would be what you trust determines how
- 30:04Speaker 4: you live. And you say that again, what you trust
- 30:10Speaker 4: determines how you live. If you trust yourself completely, you
- 30:17Speaker 4: will follow yourself. If you trust money, you will chase
- 30:22Speaker 4: after money. If you trust people's approval, you will compromise
- 30:29Speaker 4: to keep their approval. But if you trust God, you
- 30:35Speaker 4: will stand when the pressure comes. You remain fruitful even
- 30:43Speaker 4: when circumstances are not favorable, You'll have hope when everyone
- 30:51Speaker 4: else is losing theirs in That's what Jeremiah is teaching
- 30:57Speaker 4: us today. Get your roots in the right place. You
- 31:02Speaker 4: need to dig deeper then your circumstance. You need to
- 31:07Speaker 4: dig deeper than your situation. You need to dig a
- 31:12Speaker 4: little deep. Hey man, all right, let's take a break.
- 31:17Speaker 6: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This

- 32:00Speaker 5: At the early ages, expecting death affects your drive. When
- 32:04Speaker 5: you live for the moment, you are not press for time.

- 32:19Speaker 5: what's that for to correct your guide?
- 32:21Speaker 3: Outside of going the story?
- 32:22Speaker 5: That just hang like an ornament and this is the
- 32:24Speaker 5: Normandy sweet was smaller sort be kid. I pray the
- 32:27Speaker 5: Lord to get people works at the cause the ship
- 32:29Speaker 5: and their perspective, so they see that there is more.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Than this here. Y'all see out here for a show

- 32:58Speaker 5: keys to Alexis Jesus peace on the necklace. I asked
- 33:01Speaker 5: the homie gift he believe that he is a skeptic.
- 33:04Speaker 3: He said, his only need for Jesus pieces of fresh fit.
- 33:07Speaker 5: A woman approaches and she feeds for her necks head,
- 33:10Speaker 5: and he will serve it because he's scheming the kid rich.
- 33:13Speaker 5: They vote the addict so it's convenient. They just switch
- 33:15Speaker 5: money for drugs.
- 33:16Speaker 3: They will feed the breeding. They'll get fixed.
- 33:18Speaker 5: But through this one exchange the regions affected, a champig
- 33:22Speaker 5: action happens, but they don't see it's connected. For instance,
- 33:24Speaker 5: the woman has a kitchener leave it neglected, and the
- 33:27Speaker 5: money defeated goes into the need of detective.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Her child will grow accustom to what it is. Evil.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Therection to thrown it to a cycle and DEVI repeed
- 33:35Speaker 5: on her message. The hustler will get soop big and
- 33:37Speaker 5: he'll be seen by detectives. Sill attempt to pull him
- 33:39Speaker 5: over with hopes that he is arrested, but he will
- 33:42Speaker 5: flee the scene.
- 33:42Speaker 3: He'll leave it speeding so reckless.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Then that night the news on NBC will address it
- 33:47Speaker 5: a chase, hands and death. They pulled the team from
- 33:49Speaker 5: the wreckage and the footage will be sensed because you
- 33:51Speaker 5: could see his interestments.
- 33:53Speaker 3: Some people believe the deemon infested. I disagree. I just
- 33:57Speaker 3: believe we need some direction.
- 33:59Speaker 5: So father, please you me to help them see there's
- 34:01Speaker 5: a next it.
- 34:01Speaker 3: I pray they would believe in. They're taking heed to
- 34:04Speaker 3: this message.
- 34:06Speaker 6: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 34:10Speaker 6: is the His Hop radio show.
- 34:28Speaker 4: All right, all right, belove it. That was our brother
- 34:31Speaker 4: Dayton on the musical break, one of the generals in
- 34:35Speaker 4: this Christiani hip hop genre. I'm your brother. Listen his
- 34:42Speaker 4: hop and I want to give a quick shout out
- 34:44Speaker 4: to the Life Chat shout out to my brother's Zone three.
- 34:50Speaker 4: We appreciate you, brother, And we've had our sister Cara
- 34:57Speaker 4: that has been logging in. I don't know if I'm
- 34:58Speaker 4: saying the name right, but out to you says for
- 35:01Speaker 4: logging in as well. And everybody else out there who
- 35:05Speaker 4: has been listening to the podcast. We want you to
- 35:08Speaker 4: log into the life Chat. Come and say hi, Come
- 35:10Speaker 4: and say what's up. I mean, we want you to
- 35:13Speaker 4: be a part of our Accountability Partner segment. If you
- 35:17Speaker 4: have questions, if you have comments, come on over to
- 35:22Speaker 4: the live chat. We will see it. We are live
- 35:25Speaker 4: every day Monday through Saturday. We'll at least pop in
- 35:28Speaker 4: and say what's going on. And if you can't make
- 35:31Speaker 4: it live with us, then you can make it anytime
- 35:35Speaker 4: twenty four to seven and we will see your comments,
- 35:38Speaker 4: your questions, your prayer request. We invite that and we
- 35:43Speaker 4: appreciate y'all. So now it's time for the Accountability Partner segment.
- 35:49Speaker 4: As I was talking about, this week's challenge is simple
- 35:55Speaker 4: but a little bit uncomfortable, right, Ask your accountability partner,
- 36:00Speaker 4: what do you think I rely on too much instead
- 36:03Speaker 4: of God? And do not argue with the answer. Listen
- 36:09Speaker 4: and pray about it. Ask God to show you whether
- 36:14Speaker 4: there's truth and what they say.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 36:20Speaker 4: And that's what accountability is supposed to do. And that
- 36:23Speaker 4: just make you feel good. It should help us grow
- 36:27Speaker 4: and I will be transparent myself. God just showed me
- 36:34Speaker 4: that I've been struggling with money. I've been making money
- 36:39Speaker 4: and idle in my life because there's a situation that
- 36:43Speaker 4: I'm dealing with financially and I shared it on the
- 36:48Speaker 4: last podcast. And sometimes I will try to pay this
- 36:54Speaker 4: bill or try to work this out, or try to
- 36:56Speaker 4: get this loan. And there's been time I'm a tithe payer.
- 37:00Speaker 4: But there's been times when I've missed. Is what I'm
- 37:03Speaker 4: trying to say. And at that point I'm making money.
- 37:07Speaker 4: It's like who do I trust in? Am I trusting
- 37:09Speaker 4: in the money or do I trust in God? Like
- 37:13Speaker 4: I had to repent, I had to come to the
- 37:16Speaker 4: altar and renew my commitment to trusting God even when
- 37:20Speaker 4: it gets tough. Even when it seems like I can't
- 37:25Speaker 4: pay this bill or that bill. I believe that the
- 37:29Speaker 4: ten percent belongs to God. It is not my money,
- 37:33Speaker 4: and it hurts me every time I failed to do so. So,
- 37:36Speaker 4: as my accountability partner people out there, I'm asking for
- 37:41Speaker 4: your prayers. Please pray for me so that I can
- 37:45Speaker 4: grow past this. I don't care if it's only two dollars.
- 37:48Speaker 4: I'm gonna give my ten percent. Amen, hallelujah. Say we
- 37:54Speaker 4: all need that accountability. But yeah, ask that question, and
- 38:01Speaker 4: no matter what the answer is, pray about it and
- 38:06Speaker 4: allow God to show you. Amen. All right. And also
- 38:12Speaker 4: we want to let you know that his Hot Radio
- 38:15Speaker 4: is a monitored and a reporting radio station. If you
- 38:20Speaker 4: have a project, you got some music you want to

- 38:53Speaker 4: and check out our promo packages very affordable. So you
- 38:59Speaker 4: can ever t is with us on the station. Amen.
- 39:08Speaker 4: Now head on over to the Life Chat because we
- 39:13Speaker 4: have our Bible Scholarly Challenge, our trivia challenge. I want
- 39:18Speaker 4: to give a shout out to our brother's own three
- 39:20Speaker 4: he's been the trivia champ. He's been raining. Our brother
- 39:24Speaker 4: knows his Bible. But do we have any other challengers
- 39:28Speaker 4: out there today that would challenge, that would try to
- 39:31Speaker 4: get the answer before he does? And so today we're
- 39:36Speaker 4: gonna mix it up a little bit.
- 39:38Speaker 3: This is the wife.
- 39:40Speaker 4: She's asked if we could make it a little more challenging,
- 39:43Speaker 4: and so we're gonna try to do so today. She
- 39:47Speaker 4: still thinks we need to come up so all right,
- 39:51Speaker 4: so we're calling this the Bible Scholarly Challenge. Now the
- 39:56Speaker 4: question is the person who truy us in the Lord
- 40:01Speaker 4: is compared to a tree planted by waters. Right, But
- 40:06Speaker 4: here's a challenge. What specific tree? I mean, what pacific?
- 40:11Speaker 4: Three things? Does the passage say this tree will not fear?
- 40:18Speaker 2: Right?
- 40:20Speaker 4: You have to remember the actual passage. There's three things
- 40:25Speaker 4: that this tree will not fear if it's planted by
- 40:32Speaker 4: the waters. So I only might have to read this
- 40:37Speaker 4: scriptures again. One through thirteen. We went over today, but
- 40:41Speaker 4: the first one to get the answer right is the
- 40:45Speaker 4: trivia champ for today. And it's gonna pay off real
- 40:52Speaker 4: soon here because we got some great things come in
- 40:56Speaker 4: your way. I'll give it to you as soon as
- 40:58Speaker 4: we do the community shout out and guess what it's
- 41:03Speaker 4: time to do our community shout out, So I'm gonna
- 41:05Speaker 4: give it to you. We'd like to give you updates
- 41:09Speaker 4: about what we're doing in the community, our events, things
- 41:12Speaker 4: we got going.
- 41:15Speaker 2: And so.
- 41:17Speaker 4: One of the things we're excited about is now we
- 41:20Speaker 4: are able to up our game when it comes to contest, giveaways,
- 41:26Speaker 4: our raffles, things like that. You'll find it all on

- 41:47Speaker 4: like a little instructional video to show you how to
- 41:50Speaker 4: get to our games. And our contest is right there
- 41:54Speaker 4: on our website and the contest as you will follow.
- 42:03Speaker 4: Those of you who follow football, right you're gonna follow
- 42:05Speaker 4: the season anyway, Well, why don't you come over and
- 42:09Speaker 4: tell us which team is gonna win that week, which
- 42:14Speaker 4: teams you think are gonna win, and if you guess
- 42:18Speaker 4: right the whole season, that you will have the opportunity
- 42:23Speaker 4: to win fifty thousand dollars and beloved, who could use
- 42:27Speaker 4: some extra change, we're talking about fifty g's. I'm about
- 42:33Speaker 4: to do this. I'm about to get more into football
- 42:35Speaker 4: and try to win that money myself. Now it's just playing,

- 43:02Speaker 4: the Raffle tickets are only ten dollars. Let's say if
- 43:05Speaker 4: the pie goes to five thousand dollars, the winner will
- 43:11Speaker 4: walk away with twenty five hundred half of the pot,
- 43:15Speaker 4: and half of the pot will go to our organization.

- 44:01Speaker 2: Three.
- 44:02Speaker 4: We opened a Christian club back in twenty twelve. We
- 44:05Speaker 4: are looking for new headquarters. We need another building. We
- 44:09Speaker 4: have youth programs that we want to get off the ground.
- 44:12Speaker 4: We want to start doing our concerts events. There's multiple
- 44:16Speaker 4: things we want to do. We know that we will
- 44:18Speaker 4: be a blessing to our community where we're asking our
- 44:23Speaker 4: brothers and sisters to help us. It takes finances. So
- 44:27Speaker 4: if you would like to become a monthly donor or
- 44:29Speaker 4: sponsor or supporter, if you're a grant writer, if you
- 44:33Speaker 4: know of grants that we could apply for, we want
- 44:36Speaker 4: you again in contact with us on our website, his

- 44:51Speaker 4: your taxes, So we are legit. We have our business
- 44:55Speaker 4: house and order. So we want to thank God for that.
- 45:05Speaker 4: All right, belove it. Well, let's go ahead and close
- 45:08Speaker 4: it out with some closing remarks. Jeremiah seventeen month through
- 45:14Speaker 4: thirteen gives us a choice. We can trust ourselves or
- 45:20Speaker 4: we can trust God. We have the option to either
- 45:26Speaker 4: follow our hearts or follow God's word and allow the
- 45:30Speaker 4: word of God to lead our hearts. We can chase
- 45:34Speaker 4: temporary success or pursue eternal fruit, whether you think is
- 45:41Speaker 4: better something temporary or something eternal. We can build our
- 45:47Speaker 4: lives around things that can disappear, or we can plant
- 45:51Speaker 4: ourselves besides the living water. The tree in Jeremiah doesn't
- 45:58Speaker 4: avoid the heat, doesn't avoid the drought. It survised because
- 46:05Speaker 4: its roots are deep connected to the right source. If
- 46:12Speaker 4: that's the word for somebody, right, somebody listening today needs
- 46:16Speaker 4: to hear that your circumstances does not determine whether you
- 46:20Speaker 4: can be fruitful. Your route to do so get your
- 46:27Speaker 4: roots deeper into God's Word, deeper in prayer, deeper in fellowship,
- 46:34Speaker 4: and deeper in your relationship with Christ. And when the
- 46:39Speaker 4: heat comes, and it will come, you will not have
- 46:46Speaker 4: to panic. You'll know where your strength comes from. Amen.
- 46:55Speaker 4: And so once again we appreciate you, we thank you.
- 47:00Speaker 4: You are joining us on this episode. Everyone who's logged

- 47:27Speaker 4: Christ in us. God bless.
- 47:41Speaker 6: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 47:44Speaker 6: is the His Hop Radio show.
