October 4th

The Music Dial · Oct 4, 2026 · 4m

Blues-rock, funk, synth-pop and film music come together in today’s episode of The Music Dial, with stories connected to October 4.

We remember Janis Joplin, revisit Queen’s U.S. number-one hit Another One Bites the Dust, celebrate the birthday of Chris Lowe from Pet Shop Boys.

One date, several generations, and music stretching from raw rock vocals and funk-driven stadium hits to synth-pop and memorable screen music.
