Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Mile High Huddle Podcast with your football freeze, Chad Jensen and Zach Kilmer.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographical location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a state of being.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome in everybody.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's the Mile High Huddle Podcast.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm your host Chad Jensen with me.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_02]: My fellow football priest.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_02]: You know him.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_02]: You love him.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: Zach Kelverman Zach.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: The NFL combine is just about in the books and it's been a eventful week.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's been nice having a little bit of news come our way after the Broncos of the season's basically been over for about a solid month now.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_02]: anything jump out to you.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_02]: We got plenty a couple of topics we're going to get to tonight, but did anything jump out to you by way of a takeaway or two from this week, this year's combat.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think what Joe doubts in me was the fact that where the brocos are light, this this compound in this draft is heavy in certain areas.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: Talk about offensive linemen, linebacker receiver, there's some running backs as well the brocos could look at.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: So I think my takeaway was all the combine, the major combined vites, they kind of intersect with the brocos needs and there's definitely some guys that I want coming out of this week.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited, man, a few of my guys, like as you guys know, I've been a big fan of jadarian price, the prices right guy.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't yet in the okay 40, but all of his other testing was actually quite disappointing.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: It makes me wonder unless he'd absolutely crushed it in his meetings, which he may have, makes me wonder if he's going to actually perhaps be there for the Broncos in round two, like that light.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: Mike Washington, Jr. who we watched at the senior Bull Scott and I for three days, and I liked him the most out of all the running backs in mobile.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: He tested off the frickin' field, dude.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: He helped himself out a lot.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_02]: Some really interesting running backs in this class.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_02]: But Zach, if the Broncos do what they're supposed to do and what they plan to do,
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: And that is, fill roster holes in free agency well before they get to the draft, right?
- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: Because free agencies open in in 10 days, the drafts not till the end of April, then some of these running back considerations and wide receiver for that matter might not be as pressing relative to the draft.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it's so hard.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: We talk about it almost every podcast.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's so hard to project what the brokers are going to do in April when March, I know it's March first now, but March hadn't even rolled around yet.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of the Brock was planned for the draft will be made from the outcome of free agency.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: I hope Chad has to do you that they solve that area of need on the open market.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: They go get a veteran whether it's resigning dolphins or bringing in someone like Kenneth Walker.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think we both hope they take care of as many offensive needs as possible going into the draft that way.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: They can go true BPA at number 30.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: uh... we got some stuff to get to but let's say hi to the chat uh... first and foremost we got the lady do you check it in off the top wrote you thank you love you diana i hope uh... hope you're doing well and uh... thank you for being just such an awesome friend and dear member and supporter of mhh she says hi chad zack and scott hi everyone back from vacation that's that's what i was almost gonna say i should have read it maybe first
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: I can't even remember what I had for breakfast.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think she might have been traveling in January.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: We're now in March, anyway.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: She's back from vacation, Zach.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_02]: To minus 38, yo, 38 below, that's a rough life.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so ready to move.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_02]: Are you guys planning on moving?
- 3:37[SPEAKER_02]: A lot to catch up on, she says, I heard they tagged J Mac.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, they're planning on tendering him as a restricted free agent at the second round level.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_02]: So that'll give him
- 3:49[SPEAKER_02]: $5.8 million salary in 2026.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_02]: I heard she says Marvin Mims got paid.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: Who do you feel standing out that the Broncos might pick up images for life?
- 3:58[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know where you heard the Mims thing, but that's not something that has happened.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: So might have been something.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: Beware of the fake news on Facebook, guys.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's one of the bummers of the way they've pushed out legitimate publishers like Sports Illustrated like Mile High Huddle.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: they don't care about what we do anymore and it's given rise to the BS and the fake news and the AI and the BLOS will be careful that stuff.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: But there's a lot of guys standing out who the Broncos might pick up, man, I just talked about one of them and that's Mike Washington Jr.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: But if the Broncos do what they're supposed to do, Zach, you know, they might not need him because JK Dobbins, in case you missed it, Diana, at the Combine on Tuesday, George
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos do want to re-sign JK Dobbins.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: No guarantees, obviously, but they want to bring him back.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: And if they do that, Zach, then you're in pretty good shape, but you need one more move.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_02]: Now, you could afford to wait till the draft if you don't want to go spend on it running back.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_02]: But I think they should just capitalize and go get a Tyler out here.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly or a rico doubt or a Kenneth Walker or maybe Breeze Hall does shake free from New York and you can make an offer to him, but yeah, I think we're both in agreement and Deanna.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: And thank you so much.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: First and foremost, I see you have another super.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'll make my comment kind of concise here.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: They did make them right move with Jay Mac.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: I hope personally, Chad, they signed them to an extension now don't let him play out on a one year deal.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think he deserves that they did not tender.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: but we both hope really, really, really hope that they go out and get a better on the open market.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_02]: But thank you so much, again, which by the way, there's another name expected to be hitting the market, which is Aaron Jones, Minnesota Vikings, plan on releasing him if they can't trade him.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: Word is, I think it was shepter that reported that.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_02]: So a year ago, Zach, Aaron Jones, a lot of people were kind of clamoring for him.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: He would have made a lot of sense.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_02]: but he ended up re-upping and staying in Minnesota two years, 20 million bucks.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_02]: The broth goes ended up drafting RJ Harvey.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: And so now that you have RJ Harvey, I'm not sure real quick before we grab Lady D's second super.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: How much since it would make going after an Aaron Jones plus now Zack, he's a year old or he's 31, just turned 31 of December.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would re-sign Dobbins 10 out of 10 times before I would bring in an Aaron Jones.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's not a wholesale upgrade on what you had.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: Bree's all Kenneth Walker else here.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: Those are arguable upgrades.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: Aaron Jones would not be.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: uh, lady D's uh, pardon me, second super chat off the top row and legendary mythical with love you so much, lady D. And this time of year trust, it goes a long way.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: It helps us out so much.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: She says hit the like button, share and subscribe.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's so worth it.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_02]: Plus it helps Chad and Zach.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_02]: This is true.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_02]: And guys, we're pushing still our goal.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: We're trying to get to 40,000 subscribers on YouTube and we're at about 1700 till we hit our goal.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: So something like 35% of folks who watch these live streams, whether it's live or after the fact are not subscribed.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_02]: So if you guys sub, you can help us hit that 40k mark.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: on YouTube.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: And when we hit that mark, we're going to celebrate.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be a gas.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to wrap it off stuff to the community.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_02]: Help us get to 40 K. She says, do you think the Broncos will work on the offensive line and then any line on free agents as to who they.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: We'll look at MHH for life.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_02]: So Zach, that's something George Payton talked about also on Tuesday saying how important it is to continually invest in the offensive line, keep adding to the offensive and defensive lines because you don't want to quote age at the same time.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: And you got a couple guys that, especially at Tackle, that are kind of aging at about the same point in Garrett bulls and Mike McLenshee.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_02]: So it would not surprise me if for the first time since Garrett bulls was drafted in 2017 a draft pick not only gets invested in offensive tackle, but maybe even in early one.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe even a first round pick.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's exactly what I was going to say.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: First and foremost, thank you again, Diana.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: I know I still like a broken record, but your generosity this time of year, like Chad was talking about is truly incredible.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: I did tweet about this the other day.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: I said, do not be surprised.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: I, it's not not saying it's going to happen.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying it's my preference because it's not.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: But there is a non-zero chance chat.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos will go offensive line in round one.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: Sean Payton almost gave it away with how much he was talking about it and unprompted.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I have this quote really quickly.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: I took it out of the major quote he goes, historically speaking for me, we've always invested maybe early draft capital for that position.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: And he was talking about how important the offensive line is.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not saying they're going to take it over, receive it or running back or whatever, but do not be surprised, come late April.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: If number 30 overall is an offensive line.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_02]: wouldn't be a complete shocker.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: They got to start getting busy there, lady D and bring in some options.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_02]: Now, on one hand, their their depth.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: They really like Alex Peltchewski, who's more their swing guard, complacent tackle, so long as it's on the right side.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: Pardon me.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: And then, of course, they really, really like Frank Crum.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: They believe Zach, he can do more than catch touchdowns and playoff games, but every time I've seen him called into action, mostly obviously Zach in the preseason through two summers, he's very athletic.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's got a lot of talent, but he's still pretty raw.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: I have a hard time trusting him, like if something happened to McGlenchy, I'd be heck of worried.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: Plus they counting on Nick Garzulo before he got hurt last year and who knows what he's going to come back as if he comes back fully healthy or if he'll ever be the player he was.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: Before the injury, so DNA to your point, they really can't count on.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have a superstar backup waiting in the wings.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: I like Palcho a little more than Chad does, but I'm even saying that he's not a finished product by any means.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: So if they can use early capital for the offensive line, I think they should go that route for once.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm seeing here.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: If I can pull this up, if we can look at free agents, offensive tackles, because I think they're actually pretty solid inside with who they've got coming back, which is not only pal Cheski who's, see, I think he's exclusive right, he might be restricted either way, he'll be back and then obviously Alex Forsyth, Nick Garjulo will be back, hopefully he
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: knee injury, but unrestricted guys, here's the, here's the field, you're ready at Tackle, Jonah Williams, who's more of a right tackle, camera Robinson.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just throwing out the names.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: Rob Havinstein, Braden Smith, Jack Conkelon, Trey Pippkins, you know, those are some of the names at the top, but the Broncos don't need a starter.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: They need a swing guy.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see, we'll see how it matriculates.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_02]: We're not that far out, lady.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: We're only 10 days away
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: And we are eight days away from legal tampering beginning.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_02]: So that happens March 9th, where teams can start at least talking to perspective free agents outside of their team and agreeing to terms.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_02]: Then when the newly gear hit two days later, they can sign on the line that is dotted.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: Sam Bamm in the House, brother, great to see you.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: Another one of our Mount Rushmore superstars and a deer member saying, even in guys happy March 1st, we're already to March.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's there's something comforting in that time can time can fly when you're having fun.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: That's part of what we do with these streams.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_02]: Zach is we're passing the time.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: We're making that clock move a little bit faster.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: He says, I forgot to ask this the other day, but what are your thoughts on Sean Payton seeding the play calling to web?
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: What's the main reason for it that you feel and do you think it was a Sean Payton decision or a Payton Panner decision?
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: Go Broncos.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, I do definitely think that was a Sean Payton decision.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's that's why they brought in Sean Payton, the whole package, you know, big part of that is culture, experience, that competency, scheme, play calling, John Payton, but you answer this when I've done a lot of talking here, why do you believe Sean Payton decided to give up at this late stage in his career as a head coach?
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: to Davis Webb who will become a first-time play caller right like he's one thing if you're going to bring in Joe Brady like he was hoping to maybe before the build decided what are we doing let's let's let's hire this guy as our head coach at least Joe Brady had a lot of time on task why Davis Webb
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, Sam, thank you so much.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: George Peyton can't tell Sean Peyton S. H. You know what?
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he has no power when it comes to those kind of dynamics.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: Greg Pender could, but I don't think Greg Pender is enough of a micro manager to step in when Sean Peyton took them to the AFC Championship game.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: This came directly from Sean Peyton and it was a very proactive move and it was a very surprising move in the sense that
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: He put his ego aside, he put his pride aside.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: He realized that he was a detriment his play calling at times to the process.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: He realizes maybe Chad, the NFL has passed and by, just slightly that it's not 2006 anymore with Drew Breeze, it is 2026 with Bow Knicks.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: And at times, his play calling did not reflect that.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: He also talked about him getting in the play calls to slowly the play calls being too worthy.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: I just think he felt the fan pressure.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: He just looked in the mirror and he realizes it's situation and it's a young man's business.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: He has a guy on staff.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to keep.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: It just makes too much sense not to happen Sam.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there was any one reason.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: It was a co-election of multiple reasons and factors.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: He talked about Sam Shondid in a very reluctant way.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: You could tell he was very uncomfortable in meeting all this stuff publicly.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: And then once it was finally out of him, then he seemed to relax a little and could speak a little more, I don't know, clearly on the subject, but among the many things he said about Davis Webb,
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: talked about just how freakishly talented he is and that they met several times during the 2020-25 season and at times in those meetings they would discuss Davis Webb's role as the past game coordinator, his future, his ambitions, what he wants, then of course the season.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: And that's when Sean Payton says he started genuinely thinking about maybe I'm giving up
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: Davis Webb then hits the hiring cycle market and he's a pretty hot ticket item.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: According to Sean Payton, there was no ultimatum.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: There was no from Davis Webb.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: All right, coach, I'll come back as long as you make me offensive coordinator and give me play calling duties.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'll come back.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: There wasn't like that, but it was Sean Payton's way of
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: fanking basically davis web for sticking around and staying with what they started with bonyx and the whole nine yards plus what he knows about davis web what he's seen him call right it's not like he's never called plays it's just that all of his play calling has been an exhibition games but Sean Peyton sees the plays he turns in to the game plan each and every week.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, it'll probably end up being Zach, like a 75 25 75% of the calls on game day will be Davis Web and then Sean Peyton will step in here and there making a call probably a lot of red zone stuff because say what you want to about his diminishing returns as a play colors that he still especially over the last two years with bow has been one of the best in the red zone.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, I mean, there's been more good than bad with Sean Peyton, but the bad when it was bad it was more glaring than the good was I think and that's where Sean Peyton realized that Hey, maybe maybe I need to pass the baton and maybe we need to go in a different direction, but I also talked about the lack of ego and pride involved
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: But suddenly, because in the background of this, he has to be thinking of his coaching treat too, Sean.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_01]: And if Davis Webb goes out and balls out and quits himself well as a play caller, Lance ahead coaching job, goes on and becomes a head coach, who does that reflect well on?
- 16:01[SPEAKER_01]: They guy who took him from being an unknown backup to making a positional coach to a play caller to a future head coach that reflects well on Sean Payton.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: So there is a win-win scenario here where he looks good and the Broncos get better at the same time.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited for it.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited for it because what's the worst that could happen?
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: If David's if Sean Petton's wrong and David's web falls on his face or the Broncos as an offense failed to launch,
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: Patence right there in the wait and in the wings act to take it back over and we're back on you know pace and everything so I think there's not nowhere to go but up from it and specifically what I'm hoping day this web can improve as the play caller is the down to down consistency in the run game and then the.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: the deep field stuff right the Broncos were one of the least explosive that's not me making like a you know qualitative statement or opinion that's the fact they were one of the least lowest number of explosive plays in the NFL last year so that needs to to really change that if Bonix is gonna take that next step in year three.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, work the middle of the field.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: Challenge defense is deep.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: Don't go away from the running game.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: Cuts out on the screen passes or at least call them where appropriate quality of a quantity.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: There are some tweaks that Davis Web can make easy elements, elementary tweaks chat, where the offense can take the next step with bone X and 2026.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, pop a bear, great to see you again tonight, my brother, always in the hezee, always thrown down a super before we go live.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_02]: We do not take you for granted, Big Dog.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate you.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's a good evening, Broncos country.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, we're all, I think, in the position where we can really appreciate the hashtag God bless the USA.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, as always, let's go, both, great to see you, brother.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing well.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_02]: We also have here the lady D who dropped two very generous top rope superchats as well as she gifted 20 mile-high hotel YouTube memberships to folks in the chat.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you for that lady D. I know the folks who got the gifts will be stoked as well.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_02]: You are so awesome and some hello's real quick to to the deer members.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_02]: We got we got
- 18:10[SPEAKER_02]: We got pop of bear, we got Todd Austin Dorf, we got Jordan Lewis, good to see you pal.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_02]: We got Mike Thompson in the house, among others that have been filing in, it's great to see you.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_02]: So Zach, as I'm doing a quick skim here, I want to grab this from Todd.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_02]: So as Harvey, RJ Harvey had a great rookie year by many measurements.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: in receiving yards of receiving touchdowns rushing touchdowns yards from scrimmage.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_02]: It was a good year.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: It was a good year.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he had two explosives, right?
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: He had a 40 and a 50 yard run.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think the 40 was a touchdown in the season opener.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_02]: Zach, he had that 50 yarder against the Titans.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: You're going whoa.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_02]: We're in business with this guy.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: The problem was he's at least at that stage in his career.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: He could develop further than the
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: problem was as a rookie when J.K. Dobbins went down and and the Broncos said, all right, RJ, you're going to be our primary guy.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to be the lion's share of the carries.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: You couldn't even say he was hit or miss.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: Like the hits were so few and far between he was mostly miss.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, how many games maybe won from week 11 on two at the very most.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: where he averaged on a yards per carry base is higher than three yards.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_02]: That's not good.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: And so he's got to develop and the Broncos believe he can.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: So it's that down to down consistency aspect.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: If you use that, you know, make enough moves at running back to allow him to kind of take some of the pressure off, not having to be the guy, and he can be your third down guy and your red zone weapon and the guy you move around the formation, that's where he's best suited and where you're gonna get the best bang for buck.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: I liken it a lot to Portland Sutton where you don't want him as your wider receiver one.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's kind of a low-end wider receiver one, but he's a very high-end wide receiver two if put in that role and not put in a role where he's got an overextending himself.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: That was RJ Harvey.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: He was a, he's a bang-up RB2 to have, but you don't want him starting a full season as your RB1.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully the Broncos will rectify that.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_02]: No, Dad, we got Sue Gibson in the house also who's asking Deanna how her vacation was, yeah, you'll have to tell us lady, do you hope it was awesome.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm just taking a, I'm just kind of catching up here.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: We got Shannon Mills saying, hi, everyone, major dental issues, hoping to stay on the whole time, but I'm sure, sorry to hear that Shannon, I actually fill your pain.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_02]: I've been going through a very similar thing the last eight, nine days.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm started to be on the men from it, but man, that can really drag you down.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's, I mean, it's fine.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's one of those things that,
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: if you've ever had one you just know where everything's fine until it's not and when it's not oh my goodness it's like defcon 5 you know we got to get this addressed and it almost always in my case happens on a Friday night or Saturday you're not getting in to see a dentist you know you got you're just like put some mice on it uh what has worked very well for me my friend for dental
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: pain is uh and this is not this is not uh medical advice but I'll just say what I've done the last week that helped me out a lot it's a little ibuprofen combination with a little bit of time all at the same time for whatever reason it does well for me but get feeling better yeah Shannon nothing worse than dental issues than uh and and two pain I feel you on that absolutely get better feel better thank you for checking in but take care of yourself and we'll
- 21:47[SPEAKER_02]: And at least tomorrow is Monday, hopefully you can get that, get that, look at that.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_02]: Larry jumping in.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: What's up, Larry?
- 21:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you're hearing good to have you with this big dog.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: He says, why isn't anyone talking about trading for Alvin Camara?
- 22:02[SPEAKER_02]: Sean Peyton mentioned him on multiple interviews last week out of the blue.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_02]: It makes me think he wants to trade for him.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think the reason no one's really talking about it is just because all the boxes Camara checks
- 22:16[SPEAKER_02]: RJ Harvey checks.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_02]: You have, all right, if you look at the hey day, the later latter years, hey day of Sean Peyton in New Orleans, Zach, you had Mark Ingram and you had Alvin Comerra.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: So you've got the Comerra role.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: figured out with RJ what you need now is the Ingram roll that down to down first and second down guy that can carry the rock between the tackles and be consistent and they had that going early last year half a year anyway right till week 10 with JK Dobbins but you can't rely on JK so that's more of the kind of running back Zack that they need they don't need two album commanders how are you going to use them both.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: And plus, Alvin Camerra is more of a name player where you hear his name and you think it's still the guy from four or five years ago.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's definitely not.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's a broken down running back who's now on the wrong side of 30.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: So if you be trading for him acquiring him or whatever, you're basically giving yourself a net negative.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: You're not moving the arrow upward.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: Go out and get a younger running back or running back with a better skills to that hasn't fallen off a cliff.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: And Larry, I'm not attacking you personally because a lot of Brock West fans also want this to happen.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: watched.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: I hate to say it because he was such an exciting player, but there's not a lot of tread left in those tires.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: He has a lot of carries and touches to his name in his career.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's not the same guy anymore.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to fall for cliff fast.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: I would stay away.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they did Larry, the Saints did have some organizational upheaval over the last couple of years with coaching changes, quarterback changes, bringing along a rookie quarterback last year.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: And Tyler Shucks started
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: Camaro, who by the way, we were just saying, uh, pass on Aaron Jones.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_02]: He's already 31.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Camaro turns 31 before the season starts.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: He would, he'll turn 31 about the time training camp begins.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_02]: And this past season to Zack's point, he had a hundred, he missed first of all six games.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you're aware of that.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: 131 carries 471 rush yards and only one rushing touchdown.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_02]: He had 33 receptions, but a low average of just 5.6 yards per catch 0 touchdowns through the air.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_02]: So he's starting to regress and
- 24:23[SPEAKER_02]: when they start to regress Zach in terms of production and that also coincides with missing time with injury because one of the things that happens as you get older is why father times undefeated is not only do you suddenly become more susceptible to injury but it takes a lot longer to recover and heal from the injuries and so that's not to say you know he's completely stick a fork in him but he's getting pretty close you know and he's had a great career
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would be really mad if he was a free agent and the Broncos signed him and wasted money I would be even just more furious if they wasted draft picks to bring in of running back that's on the wrong side of 30 now Go out and aim higher for your quarterback and for your offense Go out and get a brief haul Kenneth Walker all year and put this to bed But thank you Larry for the super
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, dude, appreciate it.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: And Scott says in our private chat, the Saints would have to also eat some dead money because he's got an $11.5 million base salary.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: So he's just not worth that anymore.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, that's just the way that cookie crumbled.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: We got Dale and then he dove.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: checking in from paradise from the top row.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_02]: Love you, Dale, hope you're doing well.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: Big dog, good to see you.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: He says, hello, Jensen, the MHH faithful.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm on a roll, making it live.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, sir, that's true.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: Looking forward to the offseason moves.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: There are a lot of players available in free agency in the draft that meet our needs.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: Kenyan Sadik, boy, boy.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: You want to talk about Zach one of the top two or three winners of the combine.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_02]: Kenyan Sadik is up there.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: He already had good draft stock.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: But he goes on to say sedique would be the biggest catch because plenty of good running backs and linebackers out there.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt about it.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt about it.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_02]: sedique.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I mean before I was looking at him like a pretty feasible possibility at 30 now.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's past the top 15.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_02]: So if the Broncos wanted him.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: you're going to have to trade up and give up some capital.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: But he had some cool things to say this week, too, due to about Bonax and the Broncos.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, most of these guys, they're smart enough to know that when they're at the podium, someone gets, if they're going to ask directly Zach about playing with this guy on that team, they're going to say, I would be a dream to play with this guy on that team, just like it would be with any team.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: I just want to get drafted.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_02]: But he had some really nice things to say about Bona, the Broncos.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's a good point and thank you for bringing up his name.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: Chad asked me earlier my takeaways.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: I totally brain farted the fact that said he blew up the combine as we thought he would.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: And he's just such a perfect fit on paper for the Broncos, but like Chad said perfectly.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there's a chance he makes it a 30 now anywhere close.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: Although if he does make it a 20, 20, 21, 22, if I'm George Bay, Numbshomping, I don't think it up the phone.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to trade up and move up for him.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's a player that can fit like a glove in this offense and with your quarterback for the next five or 10 years.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: Superman.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: And they've got that connection already.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he didn't play a ton as a freshman when Bo was a senior.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's last year there at Oregon, but he played enough and was involved enough to to know Bo Nixon and learn from his example.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_02]: And that's kind of some of the stuff he talked about this week.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_02]: There's an article up Dale, if you go and and search it on myohoodle.com.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: that we wrote up about that.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty interesting stuff.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: So, but as he talks about too, plenty of good running backs and linebackers out there.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I have already mentioned jadarian price.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I kind of think that was a good thing to happen because I still think he's going to be a stud in the NFL, but maybe now he's not that shoe in back half of the first round guy.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_02]: He might be around in round two.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_02]: So that's something interesting, Zach, to where maybe the Broncos trade out of the first round.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_02]: And there's somewhere in that top 15 in round two.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: I would be interested in him there and there's still now maybe a chance that he could even be there later where they actually pick it Whatever it is 62, but Mike Washington running a 433 I did not expect that for I mean Scott and I watching him three days in a row, you know, you see a lot of reps and carry it in the boom And he's more that power kind of guy Did not expect that he had those kind of wheels on him and that's gonna help him out a lot
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a good point.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: There are a lot of options for the Broncos and it's almost like a win win in terms of running back at least if you don't get one of the big names on the open market.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: You can fall back on a draft.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: You can bring back JK Dobbins and kind of run it back what you had in 25 just fully healthy preferably linebacker is where they don't go offensive line or one of the popular positions like running back or receiver.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: linebackers where I think they go.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: There is a glut of linebackers that fit at 30 or maybe even they move back as potter 2 and go out and get the guy pick up an extra draft pick.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: There are a couple that would fit from day one that would be starters and fans chose to defense.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: So again, you can't bring back single tends to turn out or whatever.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: You have a fallback plan of the draft.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good point here.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you again, Dale, as always.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: Scott brings up 223 pound running back.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: Who runs a 433.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's Jamal Lewis.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: You guys remember how good he was?
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so yeah, we'll keep it moving.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: I guess Chad's having a little freeze up issue.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what else we got in the chat.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: Keep it moving here.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: I see people talking about nausea Harris, the charges running back.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know that the Broncos are going to go after nausea.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like he wouldn't fit in this offense.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's coming off an injury.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's a big body guy that they can definitely improve on.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think Chad's coming back in the room, though.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, or not.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_01]: Frozen shot on a stick.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty funny.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: Whoa.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: Whoa.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: Whoa.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so I'll get this really quickly by our Lewis 49.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: 99.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much, Byron.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: Forget, come here.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: What about Mike Washington Jr. with a four, three, 40 time.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: What round do you think he will go?
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good question.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: Byron.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Chad's big on him as well.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: This is a player that would fit in the offense in the same way that we wanted your mere give.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_01]: So not a power back by any means, but a guy who's kind of rocked up and can take it to the end self from any point on the field.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's going to be going earlier than people anticipate, Byron.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know about first round necessarily.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: Although, you know, crazier things have happened, but I do think he will go with a premium pick and and
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: Just as what we talked about with any other position.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: If the Broncos don't address that in for agency, they don't acquire one via signing via trade, then they will attack it in the draft.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: But you're not going to address a position in the early rounds when you went out and signed one or traded for one and gave up compensation.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: And there we go.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: We got my partner and crime back.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry guys.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: I have no idea what happened.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if it's my internet connection or what.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_02]: I just got bounced from the studio.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: That was really weird.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_02]: Am I coming through all right?
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I might get it internet as you can get hard-line too.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know what the heck that was, man.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: I apologize about that, guys.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm with you, Byron, forget about Camara, man.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_02]: Like there's other options in Mike Washington.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: Oh boy, he's very interesting.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, thank you so much, Byron.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: I saw we have another big one from Dale here to thank you so much, Ben.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_01]: He goes on the Davis web change.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was more about getting the plays out on time than anything absolutely.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_01]: Bone needs to get to the line of scrimmage quickly in order to see what the defense is doing.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: He was clearly frustrated when that did not happen.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: I also think the O.C.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: collab with Web will be better than the head coach and quarterback.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: you are bang on accurate deed of and this is something we've both talked about Chad and I different points over the last year really the buffer between Sean and Bo has been Davis Webb and you need that even going back to the old broccos days with Mike Shanahan you need that younger coach to be the go-between the more relatable guy
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think Sean Payton at 60 years old is relating to Bonax at 25 years old.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Davis Web though is much more relatable.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: So there's that factor for sure.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: And also, yeah, the play calls were like cheesecake factory menu items.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: They were like two minutes long each play call.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: It was leading to literal delay of game penalties.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: And in Bose rookie year Dale, there's a shot and I referenced this a lot where Bose got receiving the play in the hotel.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: And he's looking back while the clock's winding down because
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: hasn't got the chance to get set yet.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's a big component for it is being working size and David's will will cut the offense down to suponics.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you again for the big super.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_02]: Hey Scott real quick before I riff on something that Ddub said here.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_02]: Can you I don't want to risk it because I don't know what just happened.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to open up a new tab but will you look will you check the mock draft big board the consensus on Mike Washington and just see what it's at now?
- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just curious.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, that was something D-Dub that Sean Peyton did emphasize on Tuesday that they'll be quote unquote quicker.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: getting in the calls, so that definitely had to have played some kind of a role.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: But yes or so, you're the one that's in control of that coach.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what was it in your process that made you unable to get the calls in on it in a timely manner?
- 33:15[SPEAKER_02]: And what would Davis' web's process be that would be any different?
- 33:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be really curious to know that, but I don't think we'll ever get an answer to that.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: If you listen to Sean Payton, that's just how he speaks though.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's kind of a drawn-out, kind of deliberate, blabbered speaker, maybe Davis Webb speaks faster.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he can get the play calls and faster on that basis alone.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: And if he can, more power to him, it would help out bone X.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but it's an interesting pairing.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the NFL has been very, very, very interested in Davis Web.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: Two off seasons in a row now.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_02]: That was another thing that Sean Peyton talked about on Tuesday how his plan for coaches and sometimes with players, the way they progress and develop.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's not always on.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_02]: Pardon me your timeline, meaning like sometimes these guys grow up and get wings and fly the coop before you're really ready to let them go.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_02]: And in Davis Web's case, Zach, it would not surprise me in the least.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_02]: Seriously.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: It would not surprise me if you go as one year as the offense coordinator kills it.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: audio's he's gone on some head coach I mean now that the NFL is just cycling through head coaches at the rate that they do now you know 10 vacancies and there's some people believe he could have taken the Raiders job like he just chose not to ended up waiting it out for Kubiak but that's a bridge that the Broncos across when they get to it but a lot of that depends back on how well this offense does with him at the at the helm so to speak.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think in lessy face plants completely and the Broncos have like a three win season.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: God forbid.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's all but guarantee that Davis will be getting a head coaching job in 2027.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: That's the plan.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: They're trying to hold on to him as long as they can and they have for the last two seasons, but you can't hold on to these guys forever.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: You have to let him fly.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: And like I mentioned earlier, it would reflect well on Sean Payton.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: It would reflect well on the Broncos organization when not if Web gets a head coaching job.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you again,
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: no doubt that Sean Peyton coaching trees really starting to blossom isn't it I mean it's going he's got two guys two guys that are head coaches right in Dan Campbell and now Joe Brady I'm trying to think if there's another one I'm missing but and then several guys that often coordinate around the league, Declan Doyle he was another guy by the way D Dubb that Peyton talked about as just not on the timeline like he expected to have him around maybe
- 35:39[SPEAKER_02]: but his reputation, he was out of there pretty quickly.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, we'll see, we'll see.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the average real quick going back to, and actually before I do this, I just want to say, guys, D-Dub, Byron, Lady D, all of you, Papa Bear, Sam Bam, and so many other folks who might not even be in the room tonight, but you know who you are when you hear this.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_02]: We are so fortunate here at MHH to have you guys in our community like we recognize how special this is and how rare this is for folks to support us the way that you do and we take it as not only a huge honor and privilege, but also as a as a big Mark of responsibility and I hope you know that we really do try to work hard for you guys and keep bringing the
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: The coverage and the content and the charisma and the conversation seven nights a week.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: So I just wanted to throw that out there because sometimes, man, it happens so fast.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_02]: And we got to get through these conversations and we've got about an hour to do our show.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't ever want it to come off like we take this for granted.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: We do not.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: So I love you.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_02]: D-dub.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, buddy.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I just wanted to say that real quick, but back to real fast to Byron.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_02]: Currently, Mike Washington's average draft position on the mock draft big board consensus big board is 1-1-414th overall Zach I will be shocked now if he gets past the second round for what it's worth so what round you think he'll go you're asking dude I think he ends up being an early second round pick
- 37:20[SPEAKER_02]: because of what he did at the combine, combined with, you know, he was impressive at the senior bowling, he also had his playing career at Arkansas.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_02]: He's a very interesting option for the Broncos that depending on what they do in free agency because that first second down consistency issue that down to down stuff, he's a guy that can check that box.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_02]: The one red flag, I don't have the number off the top of my head, Eric could spit it out right now, but he has a higher than you'd
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: And when you're 61223 and you run a 4348, you're going to get some looks in the NFL.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to go fairly high.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I was saying earlier when you were coming back in chat, the consensus is the middle rounds, but I don't think maybe a first round talent, but definitely I think the second round a premium round forum premium selection.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: If the Brock is want to make the move, if they don't address running back in free agency, I would not be upset.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you again, though, buyer.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_02]: Shannon is rolling with the punches of some dental issues.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_02]: Probably it's a really gnarly toothache.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_02]: And here she is throwing down a generous super sticker.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: Love you.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_02]: Love you, Shannon.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much, my friend.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_02]: And this is what I'm talking about.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_02]: This is exactly what I was trying to say is.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: Man, we are so fortunate and grateful to have you guys.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you so much, Shannon, look at this.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_02]: Lady D checking in her third top rope super chat.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: And she's trippling what she did, even on the first one.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_02]: So Lady D, my hat is after you get the chrome dome.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: All right, chrome dome.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: I love you.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_02]: You know that, I appreciate you.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_02]: both of us do.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_02]: She says, just send in some love since I've been on vacation and missed you guys.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just glad Lady D that you and the hubby were able to get away from that minus 38 business.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_02]: Man, that's harsh.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's harsh.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited for web to be play calling.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: She says, I'm hoping to get some premium players, either in free agency or the draft.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: We need some depth on the offensive line.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: And it's funny how the bills took our coaches, but we love you guys too.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, it's interesting.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: Zack, you look at all three coordinators of the Buffalo Bills, our recent former Broncos coaches.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_02]: Pete Carmichael decided to leave the comfortable familiar cushion of being a Sean Peyton assistant.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_02]: Zack and took the offensive coordinator job with Joe Brady.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_02]: So he's gone.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: Well, no Jim Leonard took the defensive coordinator position his first in the NFL and then I'm it's what's his name it's escaping me the special teams coordinator who was the coordinator under Foxy back when John Fox first took the job in 2011 I brain fart in his name right this second, but yeah kind of a weird quinketing.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: Was it decamillus.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_02]: That wasn't no that was Coobs guy.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_02]: He joined and he joined baby Coob and Vegas I'm pretty sure decamillus did.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I, that's why I was saying I saw something about that and he's not the only one either to your point to you and a lot of NFL teams were looking to Brock was waiting for coaches.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_01]: The Raider staff now has decommilance.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: They also have Zacazani former receivers coach for the Brock was he's out in Vegas now as well.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought for a team that's so bad guys that is so is so not worthy of anything.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_01]: They they NFL is rating their coaches and soon to be rating their players on the open market like JFM.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a little tongue tied to the end of because of your generosity seriously to look at that right there knowing what you've done, knowing what you're going through and knowing what you do each and every podcast.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: I've said it a lot.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'll keep studying.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say it again.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: It is truly incredible from the bottom of my heart.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_02]: Jeff Rogers, that's the name.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_02]: I wanted to just google that while I was trying to think it, but I don't want to open up another tab.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what's going on with my chrome tonight that bounced me earlier.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_02]: So that anyway, that's the point.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it's going to be fun to see how this search as she puts it's act for premium players.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: shakes out.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_02]: Bob Morris has an article coming out here probably right after the stream tonight that's breaking down some receiver options and you know he's pretty high on the possibilities Zach or the prospect of going after AJ Brown on the trade market but I'm not convinced like if if it took a second round pick or even like the Broncos 30th overall to get him I'm not sure
- 41:37[SPEAKER_02]: He'd be worth that relative to what the Broncos need, but they're in a position right now, Zach, where they are pretty well set.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_02]: They just have a few little tweaks.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_02]: They finally got the albatross of Russell Wilson's contract off the books.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_02]: So they're feeling pretty good.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be fun to see how they start moving.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, the first thing is first, they got to decide on which of their free agents they're bringing back.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're going to see singleton.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're going to see JK come back and then we'll see.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: AJ Brown is a better version of Portland Sutton.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see your point.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's what the Broncos need.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: They need someone like Jalen Waddle.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_01]: Some of that could take the top off and be a compliment to Portland Sutton.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm confident the Broncos are going to get one of those players.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be aggressive and finally help out boneics and square way as much as their priorities as they can before the draft.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be exciting though.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: And like Chad said, they got to decide on Singleton's to or not.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: They have a couple of their free agents.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: JFM is probably gone.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to get a bag from someone we've heard Atlanta could be calling for, but he's going to go fairly quickly.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be hot and heavy and we're both here for it.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: I cannot wait for the open market signings.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_02]: I still would love to know the real reason why the Broncos just haven't really shown any interest in bringing JFM back considering how productive he's been since he arrived.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: We've never gotten a satisfactory answer and honestly it's never really been asked that way like hey coach.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_02]: You went to Malcolm Roach during the by week you went to Luke Wattenberg you went to will love to my missing there's one more.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_02]: Either way, how come not JFM?
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what's holding this thing back?
- 43:13[SPEAKER_02]: I would love to know that.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, lady D, we love you.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: Give our best to the hubby and guys, get warm, get warm up there, Tucson Phil checking in on Facebook, saying good evening, Chad and Zach and Deacon Scott.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_02]: If we had a choice between Pragnon or Lee Hunter, who are you picking?
- 43:32[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome, I made a change for life, Broncos for life.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_02]: So a very good starter caliber,
- 43:38[SPEAKER_02]: interior offensive linemen's act or a can't move them off the point of attack just space eating knows tackle Lee Hunter.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_02]: What do you say?
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: I like the way your head's at, uh, fill attacking the trenches.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_01]: I, I got to go, uh, pregnone, just offensive line because of the uncertainty with Ben Powers.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: You, I think you're a little more certain on the interior defensive line than you are on the interior offensive line.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, you might want to move off of him now or in the future.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: You want to have that backup plan and not be scrambling last minute and forcing someone in there.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_01]: Pregnond would be my call here.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm not as familiar with him.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm still learning a little bit about pregnond, but
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: for three days at the senior bully, he is impressive.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't hate it, but I don't know if he's quite worthy if you look at how he tested at the combine, I'm not sure he's a 30 overall guy, but then again, you're barely not a second round pick.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_02]: You know, so it's kind of hard to,
- 44:39[SPEAKER_02]: There's only two more picks and all of a sudden you're in the second round.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: If I'm the Broncos and I'm at that position in the draft and those are my two best options on my board.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm probably trading back and just seeing what, you know, if there's someone who wants to move up and take our spot, stockpiles and picks.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_02]: But good question, brother.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you very much.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_02]: We got here.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_02]: Also, I'm going to grab a mouse in the house first and then we'll grab
- 45:09[SPEAKER_02]: kicking butt as a YouTuber in your own right, dude.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_02]: He says, this is for the MHH community.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_02]: You guys helped me grow in the six and a half years I've known you has it been that long.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_02]: Isn't that crazy, dude?
- 45:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's a long time.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for everything.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Big Dog.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_02]: We're proud of you.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_02]: We really are, buddy, and we appreciate you.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Smouse, appreciate it.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: Everything that you've done, everything that you will continue to do.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: And everything that we can do, please never be afraid of reach out.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_02]: You guys, drop a one in the chat.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_02]: If you were around for the episode, when we had Zachary on the show, drop a one.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_02]: If you can remember that, it was one of the most memorable live streams I've ever done.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_02]: And he really is, or if you're familiar with what he does on his YouTube channel, but because, you know, he's a true inspiration and a guy who perseveres and let's nothing set him back or get him down.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_02]: So he's, he's an awesome dude.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you, brother.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Zach, let's grab an envy Steini, Steini, newer name, but then again, it's shown the handle.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_02]: So if
- 46:20[SPEAKER_02]: but jump it in to say it, guys, I wanted to ask what round would the Ole Miss receiver Deshawn Stribbling go?
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think he'd be a great addition and game changer.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_02]: I am not sure.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna check something out real quick.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_02]: Hold tight, hold tight, there we go.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's currently projected from the mock draft database, the Bigboard, Zack 188th overall.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: So that's somewhere in the sixth round.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't spent a lot of time watching him yet.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't want to mislead you and just pretend like I know what I'm talking about on this particular player, but he's definitely, you know, fifth six round pick.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't hate it.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, that's what I was going to say from a macro standpoint, if no matter what the Broncos do, if they go out in a choir, a jail of water or a Garrett Wilson, let's say.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_01]: I still would want them to double dip in the draft.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not in round one or round two.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_01]: They have more pressing needs elsewhere, but certainly in round four, five, six.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's worth it to take a flyer and just see if you can find a gamer and stripling.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: could be the one here.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_01]: So that's my take on it no matter who the players if they fit the scheme, obviously, that's what you want.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: But I would want the Broncos to be aggressive and upgrading receiver because they don't just need one.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_01]: They could use a few going into the next season.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, dude.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_02]: There's some interesting wide outs that are going to be available to the Broncos.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like one guy that had some ups had some downs at the combine, but more ups in my opinion than downs is
- 47:53[SPEAKER_02]: Indiana's surat, Elijah surat, he's a guy.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_02]: I could see the Broncos was Sean Payton getting really interested in, but probably, you know, you're looking at a second round pick if he's there at 62.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_02]: So, a lot of receiver options, you know, the Broncos need receiver, they need running back, they need tight end as far as offense is concerned.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and they're always going to look to bolster the alignment, but this is a good draft to be in the market for those positions.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so when I was saying earlier the Broncos where they're light the draft is particularly heavy and it's going to intersect their needs quite well So it's it's a win-win the soft season if they just attack it pragmatically They're going to come away.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay
- 48:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we might have to get Zachary, you might have to come on again here pretty soon, man.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm getting some ones in the chat who remember your episode, but not enough ones, you know, and it's kind of crazy.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember what year that was that we had a smile on.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_02]: maybe 21, 2021.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not 100% sure somewhere in there.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_02]: So the chat, you know, we've grown by three or four X since then.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't fault that a lot of the folks in the chat right now might not have been around for that.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_02]: So Zachary, now that we're hitting the
- 49:06[SPEAKER_02]: Now that we're hitting the offseason, we're going to be able to start doing some more bringing back the superstar segments, we might have to bring you back on to it.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be reaching out because that was a lot of fun.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_02]: If you're up for it anyway, you'll have to let me know DM me, buddy.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_02]: But Steiney, thanks pal, really appreciate the super chat support.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_02]: You click that off.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, where we at 49 minutes, man, time flies when you're having fun.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: Glenn says, Chad Zach, is it just me or do you see us trading back to add some capital and get the players the fit?
- 49:38[SPEAKER_02]: Unless they really want an offensive tackle guard or Anthony Hill Jr.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_02]: If Ty Simpson's on the board, we could get a bag.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_02]: It really just depends on how the board falls,
- 49:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you get with the first round the benefit you get there is that fifth year option, you know, that you can always hold on and you're back pocket or whatever, but otherwise you're so close to picking in the second round anyway in terms of the quality of player right kind of sixes.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a really great point.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: And also, you know, for as much as we scream every year, oh, George Peyton wants to trade back, Sean Peyton wants to trade up.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_01]: The reality is they stay put more than likely, and they just take the best player on their board.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: We have no idea who that player is going to be.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_01]: We'll have maybe a clearer idea after free agency, but they're going to go BPA.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not going to be the player we all might want.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: No one really saw a job a bear in coming last year at number 20.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: I
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: I certainly did not, I'll speak for myself.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_01]: They don't care, though.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_01]: They have a board, they stick to it, and if that guy's on that board, and they don't want to move back, they're going to just stick to their guns.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see Glenn as it gets closer how that board might look.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for the comment.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_02]: All right, guys, we're not getting out of here quite yet, so don't leave.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to go through a few messages with you real quick.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_02]: And then, while Zach's going through those, I'm going to find a couple more things in the chat here before we dips.

- 51:58[SPEAKER_02]: I like this, Zach, from Mike Thompson, dear member.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_02]: Turns out the style's brothers, Dad, had him run in speed drills at five.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_02]: So now I have my six-year-old run in two a days to make up for lost time.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, man, it's crazy how well those guys tested at the combine and then I saw a picture of them.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_02]: standing with their dad in between them, you're like, wow, man.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_02]: Those are some, you know, you look at, like, you know, carved from Greek God, like, physical just perfection these guys, you know.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_02]: And then they tested, so they looked that way and they test that way, although I think it's going to avail sunny styles a lot more than it will as little brother.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Mike, we'll check back in at about, I don't know, 15 years or so and see where he's out.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's doing, but I appreciate your share now with us.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty funny.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, David, T, man, I'm sorry that you still been going through it in and out of the hospital or in the hospital.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_02]: No, back home he says can speak again using voice prompt at five months in that hospital was depressing.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_02]: Buddy, I'm so glad you, your home now.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_02]: That is great news for you.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll, everyone around here
- 53:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, thank you for sharing that David.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_01]: Anything we can do to help your stay at home now feel better, let us know, but we're happy to hear that.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_02]: Last one guys and we got a dip on out and it's an interesting topic top rings up that Alec Pierce the Colts free agent receiver who has a ridiculous year as a down the field receiver last year That he'd be a good option, but it seems like the Broncos would just be adding another number two kind of caliber guy Zach some people this is a topic I think
- 53:49[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not, dude.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why I just don't.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_02]: If you're looking for that thing that the Broncos are needing that gap, that vacancy and skill set.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's a go down the field and get it, but the Broncos have some guys that can do that.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_02]: Cortland Sutton, go up and get the ball.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_02]: He's maybe not gonna blow anybody away with his speed, Zach.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_02]: Marvin Mims can take the top off.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_02]: If you actually start using him that way like you were doing in the playoffs, what are your thoughts on Alec Pierce?
- 54:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm right there with you.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think Alec Pierce is a afflicted by a little bit of John Ross syndrome, whereas a player runs really fast at a straight line and he seems attractive because he catches passes deep down the field.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_01]: But if you look at his game log and I've said this before and we have a couple of people in the community.

- 54:47[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Pittman on that team is more of a number one than Alec Pierce was.

- 54:54[SPEAKER_01]: There are diamond does and go out and draft one.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_01]: I would not throw a bag at Alec Pierce.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: I simply wouldn't.
