- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi. It's Adam here, and in this
- 0:42episode of The Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a
- 0:45hypnosis session that is based around the idea of grief, but in
- 0:51quite specific circumstances. The client that I was working
- 0:54with actually lost their partner in an accident and it was an
- 1:00unexpected accident. And therefore that can take its
- 1:04toll more in terms of grief if there is no mental preparation
- 1:08and reconciliation of what's happening beforehand.
- 1:12You know, contrast an accident with a long illness, and the
- 1:15person whose person they love is going through a long illness can
- 1:19already get their head around the idea that they might not
- 1:21make it through this long illness, particularly if doctors
- 1:24have communicated things beforehand.
- 1:26An accident is very different, and therefore it can feel a bit
- 1:31like an emotional ambush. What you're going to hear in
- 1:34this is an element of framing the the grief part of the
- 1:40process as something that is natural and emotions are going
- 1:46to come up, and that's OK. It also links to a setting of
- 1:51Easter Island. Most people are familiar with
- 1:53Easter Island because of those giant rock heads that are there
- 1:58on the beach, and they could recall the time that they were
- 2:02with their husband on the beach at sunset around these Easter
- 2:06Island heads. And that's important because
- 2:10when you use regression to a memory, it's good to have very
- 2:15specific, distinctive things that become a way to harness
- 2:21that memory. And because they.
- 2:23Could remember being in that place with their husband.
- 2:26In that memory. It provided an outlet for them
- 2:30to communicate, not to their husband, but to the essence of
- 2:36them, all of the memories and understanding.
- 2:39And a lot of people have gone through grief, have had the
- 2:42experience of dreaming about the person that's no longer there,
- 2:45but the in the dream, it feels like they're real because their
- 2:49brain can create a very realistic representation of that
- 2:54person. So it provides an outlet to have
- 2:57conversations with someone that has passed as if they're there
- 3:01in the present, which can be quite therapeutic and helpful.
- 3:05But also there's a connotation here that they're alive for a
- 3:08reason because they were also in the same accident and yet they
- 3:11survived. And some people feel guilty
- 3:15about that. They have this inner dialogue
- 3:16of, you know, why me? Why was I the one to be alive
- 3:20and, and someone else didn't? But the other side of that coin
- 3:23is that, well, what if you're here for a reason?
- 3:26And that reason is a very positive, empowering reason.
- 3:30And the the quest or the mission or?
- 3:34Whatever that. Reason is is going to be
- 3:36discovered and then it will all make sense and you can create
- 3:40self fulfilling prophecies from this.
- 3:41When you expect good things to happen, quite often you create
- 3:45the circumstances for those good things to happen.
- 3:49And if you're expecting to find something purposeful and
- 3:52meaningful, we'll just by thinking that you're going to
- 3:54find it, you increase the likelihood of finding it and
- 3:59putting yourself in the situations where you could find
- 4:00inspiration. So it's partly grief, but it's
- 4:03also a purpose based hypnosis session of finding a new purpose
- 4:09and using certain resources that would inevitably be there more
- 4:14time, you know, more autonomy and deploy them in a positive
- 4:19way that can have some kind of fulfilling meaningful outcome.
- 4:23So there's a bit going on here and I think you don't have to be
- 4:26going through a bereavement or experiencing grief to benefit
- 4:31from this. You could just think of who
- 4:34would you like to have a conversation with on a beach in
- 4:37Easter Island and think of that person.
- 4:39And also, is there something that maybe there's a greater
- 4:43purpose for you and maybe you can explore what that thing is.
- 4:47So consider that while you listen to this session.
- 4:49So find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be
- 4:51disturbed. Relax and just experience this
- 4:54session. Take a deep breath in and as you
- 5:30breathe in, just imagine breathing in a wonderful feeling
- 5:36of calm and relaxation. Breathing in that relaxation and
- 5:44exhaling any tension on the outward breath and maybe you can
- 5:50notice that the deeper. You breathe.
- 5:55The more relaxed you become, and the more relaxed you become, the
- 6:02deeper you breathe, breathing in that resourceful feeling of calm
- 6:09and relaxation and allowing yourself to release any feelings
- 6:18of tension, sadness, any frustrations or worries, just
- 6:26feel it leaving your body in that outward breath.
- 6:40As you breathe in, allow yourself to breathe in slightly
- 6:45deeper than the breath before, and as you exhale, just allow
- 6:52the outside world to fade away as your focus turns inward,
- 7:00slowly, gently, allowing each breath to guide you deeper into
- 7:09comfort and ease. I want you to use the power of
- 7:18your imagination to imagine an island.
- 7:26Not just any island. I want you to imagine you're a
- 7:31bird flying through the sky, seeing an island with giant
- 7:38statues of ancient faces. Imagine being that bird and
- 7:46gliding down to the shore, seeing the size, the scale of
- 7:53those unique sculptures. Get a sense of the temperature,
- 8:02the sandy beaches, the colour of the ocean.
- 8:09And as you touch down there onto Easter Island, imagine that
- 8:14you're no longer a bird. You are you, you are you.
- 8:21Perhaps an hour or so before sunset.
- 8:25I want you to imagine that you feel relaxed and comfortable.
- 8:33Maybe you can see the position of the sun in the sky, knowing
- 8:38that it's descending towards sunset but not quite sunset yet.
- 8:47There might be clues that it's moving towards that element of
- 8:53sunset, maybe certain hues of orange or pink or golden light
- 9:00in the sky, but still time before sunset.
- 9:08But because the sun is getting lower, I want you to see those
- 9:12long shadows, and in particular maybe the shadows on those great
- 9:22stone heads. See those heads standing tall
- 9:28and silent? These are guardians of time.
- 9:35They've seen things change for centuries, and they are still
- 9:40there, watching over the island, just as they've done for
- 9:45centuries. Maybe you can imagine the warmth
- 9:50of the fading sun on your skin. A gentle breeze carries the
- 9:57ocean air. Maybe there's other smells as
- 10:02well. Not just the salty sea air, but
- 10:07nearby trees, flowers, plants, maybe even the earthy scent of
- 10:14the sand and the beach beneath your feet.
- 10:19I want you to imagine walking along that beach and with each
- 10:27step you feel lighter, calmer, as if this island itself is
- 10:33welcoming you. I want you to imagine that this
- 10:39is a place of wisdom, of reflection, a bridge between the
- 10:45past and the future. I want you to feel that you are
- 10:51exactly where you need to be right now.
- 11:00I want you to imagine walking along a narrow path nearby,
- 11:08maybe a path that leads you between the ancient statues,
- 11:13faces carved with wisdom, a presence that's steady and
- 11:18unmoving. But the path is leading you into
- 11:23a sacred space. Now we need to notice a
- 11:29comfortable spot, a place to rest, somewhere safe where you
- 11:36can allow your mind. To drift.
- 11:39Your heart to open, and as you settle in, you feel an
- 11:46overwhelming sense of peace in this space.
- 11:55You allow all the feelings within you to simply be without
- 12:03judgement, without resistance. And just as the waves gently
- 12:10break on the shore and retreat, emotions rise and fall on that
- 12:16tray. And that's OK.
- 12:21Grief is not something to be suppressed or pushed away,
- 12:26something to be held, gently acknowledged and understood
- 12:32before these emotions rise and fall like a wave, gently
- 12:37breaking as you imagine yourself in that sacred space.
- 12:47Maybe a space where you can now watch the sun lower towards the
- 12:51horizon. I want you to imagine a
- 12:56presence, a familiar warmth. And as you turn, you see him
- 13:08standing there, just as you remember him whole, smiling as
- 13:16though he has been waiting for you here.
- 13:23Take a moment to truly see him. Notice the way he stands, the
- 13:31look in his eyes. Feel a sense of connection.
- 13:36Love. I want you to get a sense.
- 13:41Then love does not end, it simply changes form.
- 13:49And imagine him stepping closer, sitting right beside you just as
- 13:58the sunsets. And there you are, surrounded by
- 14:03these giant stone heads and just as the last golden light of the
- 14:10day starts to touch the face of you and him, I want you to
- 14:21imagine you hear his voice. It might feel like words being
- 14:30said to you or just telepathically connecting.
- 14:36You can hear what he would say, or maybe it's just a feeling and
- 14:43knowing. But in this moment, he is here
- 14:49with you to allow yourself just in your imagination to tell him
- 14:58whatever's on your mind updates, things that have changed, how
- 15:06you're coping, feelings you carry, or maybe questions you
- 15:13have, short term decisions or bigger life direction type of
- 15:23questions. And I want you to see a face
- 15:29that is listening, understanding the person that knows you better
- 15:35than most, but also someone that has wisdom to share.
- 15:45I want you to get a sense that you just allow your intuition to
- 15:51guide you to what he would say. Maybe he would acknowledge just
- 16:02how well you've been coping, support key decisions you've
- 16:08made, or maybe offer insight, suggestions, other things to
- 16:17consider. I want you to get a sense that
- 16:24you notice the strength that exists within you, that
- 16:31resilience that you've always had.
- 16:36I want you to get a sense that what if this internal
- 16:44representation of him can become part of your intuition, scanning
- 16:55for ideas, opportunities, things to notice.
- 17:02I want you to get a sense then you think differently to how he
- 17:09would think, but you know how he would think.
- 17:15So allow a part within you to evolve, adapt to now.
- 17:23Be a part that is represented by Him, an unconscious part that
- 17:32will diligently do things to keep your life moving in a
- 17:37wonderful, positive direction, offering you words of
- 17:41encouragement, connection and understanding.
- 17:49I want you to get a sense that there is a part of you open
- 17:56minded to something new, something challenging or
- 18:01fulfilling, or something that makes you feel a sense of
- 18:06passion and excitement. And I want you to imagine it's
- 18:11almost like you're planting a seed of an idea in your fertile
- 18:17mind that is already taking root.
- 18:24You are open to a new challenge, but the first quest is to figure
- 18:36out the quest. And what if your intuition is
- 18:43the Canary in the coal mine to tell you when you've stumbled
- 18:48across something that is in the right direction?
- 18:55I want you to get a sense then. You are here for a reason, even
- 19:04if you don't know what that reason is yet.
- 19:12But you can be open to figuring out what that reason is.
- 19:18It will all make sense in the future, and it doesn't have to
- 19:22make any sense to you right now. I want you to feel that your
- 19:30life is beginning. A new chapter, perhaps a turning
- 19:36point, a fork in the road. You're at the beginning of
- 19:42something new, a quest, a mission, a sense of purpose
- 19:48waiting to unfold. So as the sky deepens into
- 19:55twilight, see him smiling at you.
- 20:00I want you to see then, even though you know he may not
- 20:08always be there in form, His essence, wisdom.
- 20:16Guidance are always with you, in your heart, in your thoughts, in
- 20:22the choices you make. I want you to give him a hug,
- 20:32embrace him, say whatever words feel natural in this moment, and
- 20:38know that you can return to this place or any other place you've
- 20:41shared a memorable experience. As he goes away, take one last
- 20:53look at those giant stone heads and feel that centuries of
- 21:00wisdom are transferring from them into you, amplifying your
- 21:06intuition, your inner compass and guidance to know at what to
- 21:14do more of and what to do less of.
- 21:19To treat your intuition as a compass leading you to somewhere
- 21:23magical and valuable. Because when the time is right,
- 21:31you are ready to step forward, not leaving the past behind, but
- 21:40carrying the wisdom and lessons and memories and experiences
- 21:44with you into something new. We need to imagine touching one
- 21:51of the stone heads. Feel a transference of a
- 21:59resource that you need right now, transferring from that
- 22:03stone head into you. And as you walk away, see that
- 22:10the sunset is now twilight. Maybe you can see stars, maybe
- 22:18the moon there over the ocean. Feel a sense that wonderful
- 22:26things are in store for you. I want you to get a sense that
- 22:36it's time to leave this place, this island.
- 22:40So just imagine once forming back into the bird, flying into
- 22:46the night sky, and flying all the way back to where your
- 22:50physical body is right now. And as you see yourself, just
- 22:55imagine touching down right by your side and then turning into
- 22:57you exactly where you are in this moment right now.
- 23:05Very soon I will count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 23:12So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 23:17nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 23:19wiggle your toes up to calibrate and connect with the here and
- 23:21the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 23:30Starting to count 123, waking up 456, more alert 7-8.
- 23:37Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910 Wide awake,
- 23:42Wide awake. Wide awake.
