- 3:58SPEAKER_11: I'm ready, Ren.
- 4:00SPEAKER_11: I'm ready.
- 4:00SPEAKER_08: I'm ready too.
- 4:01SPEAKER_08: I'm ready, much like Madonna was in Like a Virgin.
- 4:04SPEAKER_11: You know, I gotta I'm gonna do I'm gonna go right now on it with a public apolog apology of a quip that I made at you before the show started.
- 4:15SPEAKER_08: Oh, did you?
- 4:16SPEAKER_11: Yeah, about this song.
- 4:18SPEAKER_08: Oh, okay.
- 4:19SPEAKER_08: I think I know what you're talking about.
- 4:20SPEAKER_08: But you explain it to me, dude.
- 4:22SPEAKER_08: You explain it to me.
- 4:24SPEAKER_11: Well, we were picking songs for this.
- 4:26SPEAKER_11: What is it?
- 4:27SPEAKER_11: Monogamous?
- 4:28SPEAKER_11: What is not monogamous?
- 4:29SPEAKER_11: Monogamous.
- 4:30SPEAKER_11: What are we gonna call it?
- 4:31SPEAKER_08: Mononymous.
- 4:32SPEAKER_11: Mononymous.
- 4:33SPEAKER_08: Songs by artists who go by only one name.
- 4:36SPEAKER_11: One name.
- 4:36SPEAKER_11: And I said, ego, something about, you know, I don't really care for that.
- 4:40SPEAKER_11: Like a virgin song by Madonna, and I'm like, Why, because you're not anymore.
- 4:46SPEAKER_08: And I pounded my fist on the table and I went, I'm a prude, Dave, if I'm being honest.
- 4:52SPEAKER_11: You did.
- 4:54SPEAKER_11: So there's a public apology.
- 4:56SPEAKER_11: Thank you.
- 4:56SPEAKER_11: I was just trying to be a smart reader.
- 4:59SPEAKER_08: I do.
- 5:00SPEAKER_08: But because I am a prude deep down, it's hard for me to respond to those kinds of jokes when I gotta pound my fist and get mad.
- 5:06SPEAKER_11: Maybe I should get you uh more used to that.
- 5:09SPEAKER_11: Maybe I should make inappropriate jokes all the time.
- 5:11SPEAKER_08: Yeah, just desensitize me to that.
- 5:13SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too.
- 5:14SPEAKER_11: No, we shouldn't do that.
- 5:16SPEAKER_11: Alright, well listen, it's the uh KSJE Sunday morning wake-up call with my unforgettable friendly.
- 5:21SPEAKER_08: And my timeless buddy.
- 5:23SPEAKER_11: And we're doing the title.
- 5:26SPEAKER_11: Mononymous.
- 5:27SPEAKER_11: Mononymous.
- 5:28SPEAKER_11: I don't want to say monogamy, but it's along the same line.
- 5:33SPEAKER_08: Being in love with one person.
- 5:35SPEAKER_08: Mononymous is when somebody is known by one single name.
- 5:38SPEAKER_08: Like Madonna or Seal or Beyonce.
- 5:46SPEAKER_11: I kinda I g I gave you the idea and you just kind of ran with it.
- 5:49SPEAKER_08: Well, it's kinda easy because a lot of the artists that know by only one name are like truly, truly famous.
- 5:55SPEAKER_08: So they have the big hits that is easy to pick from.
- 5:57SPEAKER_11: And we tried to pick the biggest hits if not the number one hit, right?
- 6:01SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 6:01SPEAKER_08: There were a few songs that I couldn't play, like for instance, we played Material Girl by Madonna.
- 6:09SPEAKER_08: So I did do her other big hit, like a virtue.
- 6:12SPEAKER_11: And you know, that was Material Girl, that was like her number one hit, right?
- 6:20SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it's what I think of when I think of Madonna.
- 6:22SPEAKER_08: Her and the Patreon.
- 6:27SPEAKER_08: Yeah, she definitely defined that hard at the end.
- 6:31SPEAKER_11: Uh for you, and I and I know that uh for our listening audience for sure.
- 6:34SPEAKER_11: Uh because I know you take it hard when we do these uh music and stuff.
- 6:40SPEAKER_11: So uh we'll also have we we got a rant today.
- 6:43SPEAKER_08: We do.
- 6:44SPEAKER_11: We have a rant, we'll have things that make you go, hmm.
- 6:47SPEAKER_11: And of course, this is the end of a rant that'll happen before the show is over.
- 6:51SPEAKER_08: So you'll have a little bit of wisdom to take home with you.
- 6:53SPEAKER_11: Hopefully.
- 6:54SPEAKER_11: And um we got a lot of great music.
- 6:57SPEAKER_08: So I think so.
- 6:58SPEAKER_08: Like this very next one by uh An Absolute Legend.
- 7:01SPEAKER_08: This is another one where I think I played her biggest hit a couple months ago.
- 7:06SPEAKER_08: So I wanted to play a second biggest hit.
- 7:08SPEAKER_08: This is Shakira with whenever, wherever.
- 7:12SPEAKER_11: You know, I'm in love with this woman.
- 7:13SPEAKER_11: Oh, she's incredible.
- 7:17SPEAKER_15: Ode ode ode Lucky you with all that far away, so we both make fun of distance.
- 7:30SPEAKER_15: Lucky that I'm gonna foreign and crawl.
- 7:33SPEAKER_15: The lucky back of your resistance.
- 7:35SPEAKER_15: Maybe I will find the empty soul each kind of freckles on your body.
- 7:39SPEAKER_15: I will give them that we're only to make a ways to love so bad.
- 7:50SPEAKER_15: I'm being Whenever, wherever, we're never to be together, you'll be me.
- 7:59SPEAKER_15: That's the king.
- 8:01SPEAKER_15: The wrong, always way back here, that's the kill happy smoke, don't leave mom, still pisses like the bum.
- 8:25SPEAKER_15: Keep on my breaths are small and come up so you don't confuse them with smoke.
- 8:30SPEAKER_15: Yeah, strong like my baba, to run the cover with me.
- 8:45SPEAKER_15: And a trophy Whatever, whatever, let's be together, that's the back.
- 9:40SPEAKER_15: That's the back bear.
- 9:50SPEAKER_15: Whatever, whatever, you be here, that's the back.
- 10:00SPEAKER_15: You want the heels on me, head over here, there's nothing left to do.
- 10:06SPEAKER_05: If you want to do the way, it's time for Tony Tack.
- 10:25SPEAKER_05: Tony time.
- 10:26SPEAKER_12: Yeah, have a bowl of pasta what you hold.
- 10:28SPEAKER_12: Hey, it's all good.
- 10:30SPEAKER_12: Okay, and maybe we'll share some breadsticks like Lady and the Tramp, huh, Dave?
- 10:34SPEAKER_12: Huh?
- 10:35SPEAKER_12: Mean in the middle?
- 10:36SPEAKER_12: Oh, okay.
- 10:37SPEAKER_12: Yeah, okay.
- 10:59SPEAKER_04: In the time of chip fancies, I was a monkey.
- 11:02SPEAKER_04: Mutating my pains and mouth and cut the chuggy with the plastic eyeballs.
- 11:07SPEAKER_04: Spray paint the vegetables, dark food stalls with the beefcake panny on.
- 11:11SPEAKER_04: Kill the headlights and put it in neutral.
- 11:14SPEAKER_04: Stock car flamin' with the luther and the cruise control.
- 11:16SPEAKER_04: Baby's in Reno with the vitamin D.
- 11:19SPEAKER_04: Got a couple of couches, sleep on the low seat.
- 11:22SPEAKER_04: Don't keep staying on my state.
- 11:24unknown: To complain about a shotgun wedding and a stain on my shirt.
- 11:28unknown: Don't believe everything that you breathe.
- 11:30unknown: To get a parky violation and a maggot, I'm your sticks.
- 11:33SPEAKER_04: Don't shave your face with some meats in the dark.
- 11:35SPEAKER_04: Stavin all your thoughts, step the front, now the drilling park.
- 11:39SPEAKER_04: Yo Cut it.
- 11:49SPEAKER_15: I'ma lose a baby.
- 11:52SPEAKER_15: So why don't you kill me?
- 11:53SPEAKER_15: Don't feel in the door.
- 12:00SPEAKER_15: I'ma lose a baby.
- 12:03SPEAKER_04: So why don't you kill me?
- 12:06SPEAKER_04: Forces of evil and a bozo nightmare.
- 12:09SPEAKER_04: Ban all the music with a phony gas.
- 12:11SPEAKER_04: A cup one's got a weasel and other's got a flag.
- 12:14SPEAKER_04: One's on the post of the other in the bag.
- 12:16SPEAKER_04: With the rerun shows, and the cocaine broja.
- 12:20SPEAKER_04: The daytime crap with a full singer squad.
- 12:22SPEAKER_04: He hung himself with a guitar string.
- 12:25SPEAKER_04: A slab of turkey neck and a tangin' from a pigeon wing.
- 12:28SPEAKER_04: But get right if we can't relate.
- 12:30SPEAKER_04: Trade the cash for the beat, for the body, for the hate.
- 12:33SPEAKER_04: And my time is a piece of wax.
- 12:35SPEAKER_04: Falling on a turn mic.
- 12:37SPEAKER_04: Choking on the splinters.
- 12:44SPEAKER_15: I'ma lose a baby.
- 12:47SPEAKER_15: So why don't you kill me girl doing the two?
- 12:55SPEAKER_04: I'ma lose a baby.
- 12:58SPEAKER_04: So why don't you kill me?
- 13:05SPEAKER_04: Yo, bring up down.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: I'm a driver, I'm a winner.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Things are gonna change, I can feel it.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: So I'ma lose a baby.
- 13:42SPEAKER_15: So I don't baby.
- 13:45SPEAKER_15: So I'ma lose a baby.
- 13:53SPEAKER_15: So I don't kill me.
- 13:56SPEAKER_15: So I wanna lose a baby.
- 14:04SPEAKER_15: So I don't chill these words and touch.
- 14:12SPEAKER_15: I'ma lose a baby.
- 14:15SPEAKER_04: So why don't you kill this baby?
- 14:16SPEAKER_11: There's a mononymous guy for you.
- 14:18SPEAKER_11: That's Beck and Loser.
- 14:19SPEAKER_11: And I think Ren.
- 14:20SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 14:21SPEAKER_11: If I'm not mistaken.
- 14:23SPEAKER_11: Hold.
- 14:23SPEAKER_11: I don't I'm not sure.
- 14:25SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 14:25SPEAKER_08: I mean, well, I'll be able to prove it to you.
- 14:27SPEAKER_11: But you have a uh maybe a movie review about a monogamous something?
- 14:30SPEAKER_11: Not a mononymous.
- 14:33SPEAKER_08: Almost, almost.
- 14:34SPEAKER_08: About a mononymous character.
- 14:36SPEAKER_08: A mononymous character.
- 14:37SPEAKER_08: There we go.
- 14:37SPEAKER_08: Bingo.
- 14:38SPEAKER_08: I sure do.
- 14:38SPEAKER_08: There we go.
- 14:44SPEAKER_05: How about a good ranting?
- 14:47SPEAKER_05: As ranters go, Ren's one of the best, whether it be a movie, TV series, short film, book.
- 14:54SPEAKER_05: Who has time to read?
- 14:56SPEAKER_05: Hmm.
- 14:56SPEAKER_05: Probably not a book.
- 14:58SPEAKER_05: Here she is with the rant of the day.
- 15:00SPEAKER_08: Alright, Dave.
- 15:01SPEAKER_08: Today I'm talking about a weird movie.
- 15:03SPEAKER_08: A Truby bonkers movie called The Substance.
- 15:07SPEAKER_08: It came out last year in 2024.
- 15:10SPEAKER_08: And um, as of the time we're recording this, it has not yet been nominated for an Academy Award.
- 15:16SPEAKER_08: Oh, it's absolutely gonna be.
- 15:18SPEAKER_08: Because uh it starts Demi Moore.
- 15:20SPEAKER_08: You know Demi Moore?
- 15:21SPEAKER_08: Oh my gosh! She goes to G.I.J.
- 15:23SPEAKER_08: and what was she in the Scarlet Letter?
- 15:25SPEAKER_08: An absolute legend who, before this movie, had never won the trip highest paid actress in the country at the time.
- 15:34SPEAKER_08: Um, she has never won a major acting award before her role in this movie, The Substance, but she won the Golden Globe recently for it.
- 15:42SPEAKER_08: It is a body horror science fiction film about an aging celebrity who uses a back alley substance to she injects it into her arm and from her back emerges a younger version of herself.
- 15:57SPEAKER_08: Oh wow.
- 15:57SPEAKER_08: It is absolutely crazy.
- 15:59SPEAKER_08: It's about how women age in Hollywood and how, you know, even though they're total professionals, they're thrown out the moment they turn 50 or so.
- 16:07SPEAKER_08: Demi Moore is very vulnerable in this film.
- 16:11SPEAKER_08: She she lays it all on the on the table.
- 16:13SPEAKER_08: Margaret Wally plays the younger version of herself, she's just adorable, and the younger version of herself goes simply by the name Sue.
- 16:20SPEAKER_08: So there's the mononymous guy.
- 16:23SPEAKER_08: Um it's very gory, it's very out there, it's all done with practical effects.
- 16:28SPEAKER_08: And if you're a big fan of, you know, classic movies with their classic effects, I totally recommend seeing this movie.
- 16:35SPEAKER_08: It is totally inappropriate, very sexy.
- 16:38SPEAKER_08: Um, so don't bring your kids to it.
- 16:40SPEAKER_11: Do you know that Jimmy is actually a local She's from Roosevelt?
- 16:45SPEAKER_11: Yeah, her family used to be local.
- 16:46SPEAKER_11: Well, she has family lives here too.
- 16:49SPEAKER_11: I think her mom used to live here.
- 16:51SPEAKER_11: If her mom was still alive, I don't know.
- 16:53SPEAKER_11: I got a big trouble.
- 16:54SPEAKER_08: Her mom passed away.
- 16:55SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 16:56SPEAKER_08: I I was reading about it the other day.
- 16:57SPEAKER_08: Her mom passed away, I think, in the nineties.
- 17:00SPEAKER_11: That's when I made the inappropriate comment on Big Dog.
- 17:03SPEAKER_08: That you still remember to this day.
- 17:05SPEAKER_11: Well, I have it recorded somewhere.
- 17:07SPEAKER_11: I swear it was Vimie that called me.
- 17:09SPEAKER_08: Really?
- 17:10SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I've got a recorded somewhere.
- 17:11SPEAKER_11: I need to pull out.
- 17:12SPEAKER_11: It's on a real to reel, I need to pull it out.
- 17:14SPEAKER_08: She's a Spitfire.
- 17:15SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 17:16SPEAKER_11: Well, and I deserved it.
- 17:17SPEAKER_11: I deserved what I got.
- 17:18SPEAKER_11: I apologized, and But you know that those days radio, Big Dog, it was like Howard Stern stuff.
- 17:24SPEAKER_08: Yeah, you needed to just sort of say crazy things to keep people listening.
- 17:27SPEAKER_08: Exactly.
- 17:28SPEAKER_08: And that's how we learned.
- 17:29SPEAKER_08: That's how we learned.
- 17:30SPEAKER_08: Exactly.
- 17:32SPEAKER_05: Every week, a new rant.
- 17:34SPEAKER_05: She's relentless.
- 17:36SPEAKER_05: I mean, relentless.
- 17:39SPEAKER_11: Relentless.
- 17:40SPEAKER_11: It needs to be done better.
- 17:41SPEAKER_11: I need to get it with Zip.
- 17:43SPEAKER_08: Yeah, Zeb needs to fix that.
- 17:45SPEAKER_08: Relentless.
- 17:46SPEAKER_11: Relentless.
- 17:47SPEAKER_11: There we go.
- 17:48SPEAKER_08: Yeah, uh, Substance is a cool movie.
- 17:50SPEAKER_08: And a fun thing that I didn't mention in the review, too, is that uh the younger version of Demi Moore that emerges out of her back.
- 17:56SPEAKER_08: It's in a really, really screwed-up scene.
- 18:00SPEAKER_08: I love it.
- 18:01SPEAKER_08: Um Margaret Qually, I was like, oh, who's this sexy young lady?
- 18:04SPEAKER_08: She's gotta be what, 22?
- 18:06SPEAKER_08: She's 30.
- 18:07SPEAKER_08: She's actually two weeks older than me.
- 18:09SPEAKER_08: Wow.
- 18:09SPEAKER_08: So that made me feel really good about myself.
- 18:11unknown: That's all.
- 18:13SPEAKER_11: So you want to emerge out of somebody else's back now?
- 18:15SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I can be the young version of Demi more Connie, Demi Connie.
- 18:20SPEAKER_11: Alrighty then.
- 18:23SPEAKER_11: Sunday, Sunday, Sunday morning wake-up call with my visionary friend Red.
- 18:29SPEAKER_08: Am I pioneering buddy Dave?
- 18:31SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I'll pioneer for you.
- 18:35SPEAKER_08: Hey, somebody's gotta do it.
- 18:36SPEAKER_11: That's right.
- 18:37SPEAKER_11: It's a nasty job that somebody has to do it.
- 18:39SPEAKER_11: Somebody's gotta do it.
- 18:40SPEAKER_11: Well, we're we got a great show.
- 18:41SPEAKER_11: We these are kind of they're not one-hit wonders, really.
- 18:44SPEAKER_11: These are one-named folks.
- 18:45SPEAKER_08: Yeah, one-named wonders.
- 18:47SPEAKER_11: Yeah, they're that oh perfect.
- 18:49SPEAKER_11: One name wondered.
- 18:50SPEAKER_08: That could even be the name of the show.
- 18:51SPEAKER_08: One name wonders.
- 18:52SPEAKER_08: Mononymous.
- 18:53SPEAKER_11: No, I like mononymous because one name, one word for the show.
- 18:57SPEAKER_08: Yeah, okay, that works.
- 18:59SPEAKER_08: So we're if anything, these are artists that do not are not one-hit wonders.
- 19:03SPEAKER_08: They are so big that they are able to survive on just one name alone.
- 19:07SPEAKER_08: Like this next lady, who I think is the one who set the bar for everybody for one mononymous artist.
- 19:14SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah.
- 19:15SPEAKER_08: Can you guess who it is?
- 19:17SPEAKER_08: The lady, Cher Baby.
- 19:19SPEAKER_11: Absolutely.
- 19:20SPEAKER_08: Do you believe in life after love?
- 19:21SPEAKER_11: I do.
- 19:22SPEAKER_11: I do.
- 19:22SPEAKER_08: Well, that's good.
- 19:23SPEAKER_08: I don't know if Cher does, but mostly.
- 19:24SPEAKER_11: I love Cher too.
- 19:48SPEAKER_13: No matter how hard I try You keep pushing me instead and I can't break through.
- 20:01SPEAKER_15: It's not sad to leave it.
- 20:05SPEAKER_15: Take time to believe it.
- 20:09SPEAKER_13: What after all instead of no?
- 20:13SPEAKER_13: You're gonna be the longer all.
- 20:17SPEAKER_15: Do you believe in left after that?
- 20:22SPEAKER_15: I can feel something inside and set.
- 20:31SPEAKER_15: Do you believe in that?
- 20:36SPEAKER_15: I can feel something inside and set.
- 20:40SPEAKER_15: I really don't think it's strong in that card.
- 20:45SPEAKER_13: What am I supposed to do?
- 20:49SPEAKER_13: Sit around and wait for you while I can't do that.
- 20:58SPEAKER_15: I need to move on.
- 21:01SPEAKER_15: I need to feel strong Cause I have the time to think it through.
- 21:10SPEAKER_15: And maybe I'm too good for you all.
- 21:13SPEAKER_15: Do you believe in left after?
- 21:19SPEAKER_15: I can feel something inside.
- 21:23SPEAKER_15: I really don't think it's strong enough.
- 21:27SPEAKER_15: Do you believe in left after that?
- 21:33SPEAKER_13: I can feel something inside.
- 21:37SPEAKER_13: I really don't think it's strong in that Well and Ballin Ball.
- 22:01SPEAKER_13: I don't need you anymore anymore Do you believe in that?
- 22:15SPEAKER_13: I can feel something I feel like strong if I know Do you believe in that blow?
- 22:30SPEAKER_15: I can feel something I feel that don't think you strong if I know Do you believe in life I believe I can feel something inside and say don't think it's strong enough now Do you will leave the life I believe?
- 22:58SPEAKER_15: I can feel something inside and say I really don't think it's strong enough now I really don't think you're strong enough now, dude.
- 23:08SPEAKER_11: Wow, you're over there just jamming away.
- 23:10SPEAKER_08: I love that song.
- 23:11SPEAKER_08: And when I used to work at the radio station, we had the regular length version of that song, the four-minute version, and then there was like an 11-minute remix version, and I would play that exclusively at like 3 a.m.
- 23:24SPEAKER_08: So whoever was still at the 3 a.m., I hope they were partying to that remix.
- 23:29SPEAKER_11: Sure, it's got a bunch of great ones.
- 23:31SPEAKER_11: I mean, I adore her as well.
- 23:32SPEAKER_11: She's just one of those.
- 23:36SPEAKER_11: She's timeless.
- 23:38SPEAKER_08: She really is timeless.
- 23:39SPEAKER_08: All of her music sounds good to this day.
- 23:42SPEAKER_08: And uh she's a style icon through the room.
- 23:45SPEAKER_08: I mean, I'm sure you've seen the videos passed around on Facebook of all of her outfit reveals in the beginning of the Sunny and Hair show when she's singing, and then all of a sudden the beating of her robe and she's wearing a beautiful rainbow outfit.
- 23:59SPEAKER_11: Oh woman.
- 24:09SPEAKER_08: Uh monony.

- 28:27SPEAKER_10: And now for something completely different.
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: Non-stop music.
- 28:32SPEAKER_10: The wake-up call on KSJE.
- 29:55SPEAKER_02: That body goes a fall.
- 29:57SPEAKER_02: Still unlock the door For those around me criticizing fractal up and I break it off.
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: I see you, my friend, and touch your face again.

- 30:42SPEAKER_02: We have a little bit of a little bit of a bigger one.
- 33:36SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 33:37SPEAKER_08: Well, I mean, I probably couldn't say what I just said on air, but we'd get in trouble with it, what FCC.
- 33:43SPEAKER_11: The Federal Communication Commission.
- 33:45SPEAKER_08: Yes, but I will uh censor myself when I say the substance is so effing good.
- 33:50SPEAKER_08: Debbie Moore is so good at it.
- 33:52SPEAKER_08: Anyway, I I'm still thinking about it.
- 33:53SPEAKER_11: Oh, well I'm gonna I guess I'm gonna have to sketch it now.
- 33:56SPEAKER_11: All right, well, it is the KSJE Sunday morning wake-up call with my filthy mouth friend.
- 34:04SPEAKER_08: And my legendary legendary auditing mouth.
- 34:08SPEAKER_08: And I was gonna say my audacious buddy day.
- 34:10SPEAKER_11: There we go.
- 34:12SPEAKER_08: We we both are out there.
- 34:15SPEAKER_11: Yes, indeed.
- 34:16SPEAKER_11: Well, I can tell you, I'm enjoying this thus far.
- 34:18SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 34:19SPEAKER_11: Um these are all artists.
- 34:20SPEAKER_11: They go by one name.
- 34:22SPEAKER_11: Just one name.
- 34:23SPEAKER_08: One single name, they're so popular, they only need one.
- 34:25SPEAKER_11: They're not monogamous.
- 34:26SPEAKER_08: No.
- 34:28SPEAKER_11: Well, they maybe could be.
- 34:29SPEAKER_08: They could be, but a lot of them are divorced.
- 34:32SPEAKER_08: So much like Seal.
- 34:34SPEAKER_11: Seal was with uh, what's her name?
- 34:35SPEAKER_11: Heidi Clun.
- 34:36SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 34:36SPEAKER_11: And Cher was with one of the Almond brothers, too, Greg Alman.
- 34:40SPEAKER_08: He was, and this is Sonny bonus.
- 34:42SPEAKER_11: Sonny is who she started out with.
- 34:43SPEAKER_11: Actually, Sonny, I think, is the one that got her to start, if you want to know the truth.
- 34:46SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I think he was the one who kind of picked her up out of obscurity.
- 34:49SPEAKER_11: But yeah, but anyway, irregardless, and secure, who knows?
- 34:53SPEAKER_08: She's got me to fall back on.
- 34:56SPEAKER_11: That's a good question.
- 34:56SPEAKER_08: If anybody, I could if there's anybody on this list that I could see being with one person for the whole life.
- 35:01SPEAKER_08: For some reason it's Shakira.
- 35:02SPEAKER_08: She seems so sweet and down here.
- 35:05SPEAKER_11: She does.
- 35:05SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I yeah, I agree.
- 35:07SPEAKER_08: The monogamous and monogamous is Shakira.
- 35:10SPEAKER_08: Watch, I look it up and she's had like 15 minutes, whatever.
- 35:14SPEAKER_11: Well, I'm really, really big into music.
- 35:16SPEAKER_11: And we tried to pick either number one hits or close to the number.
- 35:21SPEAKER_08: Most popular songs, definitely songs that you would recognize.
- 35:24SPEAKER_08: Um, I did choose for Bjork.
- 35:29SPEAKER_08: It's her number one song on Spotify.
- 35:31SPEAKER_08: So if there are fans of Bjork out there, they have heard that song before.
- 35:35SPEAKER_11: I hate to say this, and I hope she doesn't take this wrong when she listens to the show.
- 35:39SPEAKER_11: Because she will.
- 35:45SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 35:45SPEAKER_08: I feel like Bjork might think that's funny.
- 35:47SPEAKER_08: She's got a good sense of humor from everything I've ever seen about her.
- 35:50SPEAKER_08: She's very off on guard.
- 35:53SPEAKER_11: It's hard to make fun of my name, Dave.
- 35:56SPEAKER_11: You can, but you know, I don't know.
- 35:58SPEAKER_08: It's such a normal name.
- 36:00SPEAKER_08: I think with Lauren, Red is what it is.
- 36:05SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 36:05SPEAKER_08: I think Ren could be a very monony if I really went big.
- 36:10SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah.
- 36:11SPEAKER_08: You don't know a lot of famous Ren, so I can be the first big famous Ren.
- 36:19SPEAKER_08: And I'll take that down, maybe.
- 36:21SPEAKER_08: It's all about R E N uh.
- 36:25SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 36:25SPEAKER_08: No W.
- 36:29SPEAKER_08: Next song is by another one of the most famous mononymous ladies out there.
- 36:34SPEAKER_08: I would say right up there with Cher.
- 36:39SPEAKER_08: Um she's definitely more iconic in our day and age.
- 36:43SPEAKER_08: Not that Cher isn't iconic now in our day and age, she still is.
- 36:46SPEAKER_08: But this is a lady who's definitely made it big in the 2000s, 2010s, and including the 2020s.
- 36:52SPEAKER_08: This is a Miss Beyonce.
- 36:53SPEAKER_11: Oh, obviously, yes.
- 36:54SPEAKER_11: Now she's doing the country stuff too.
- 36:56SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 36:56SPEAKER_11: But this is Go B, go, B, go, B.
- 36:59SPEAKER_11: It's your birthday.
- 36:59SPEAKER_11: Woo!
- 37:00SPEAKER_08: This is more horrific.
- 37:02SPEAKER_08: Crazy in love.
- 38:17SPEAKER_15: Do it.
- 38:52SPEAKER_00: Young, Ya know with the flow with no three and the oh, what the black tone rock and the light red next to me.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: No, I think so.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: Like both crazy in the brain, crazy in the brain.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: Like one with the four background.
- 40:45SPEAKER_04: More music.
- 40:54SPEAKER_03: There's a fire starting in my heart.
- 40:58SPEAKER_03: Reaching a fever picture's bringing me out the dark.
- 41:03SPEAKER_03: Finally, I can see you, crystal clear.
- 41:07SPEAKER_03: Go ahead and sell me out, and I'll lay your ship back.
- 41:12SPEAKER_03: See how leave with every piece of you.
- 41:16SPEAKER_03: Don't underestimate the things that I would do.
- 41:20SPEAKER_03: There's a fire starting in my heart.
- 41:25SPEAKER_03: We cheating a fever pigeon is bringing me out the dark.
- 41:30SPEAKER_03: The scars of your love remind me of us, they keep me thinking.
- 41:37SPEAKER_03: Like we almost had it all.
- 41:39SPEAKER_03: The scars of your love, they leave me breathless.
- 41:44SPEAKER_03: I can't help feeling.
- 41:46SPEAKER_03: We could just have it.
- 41:55unknown: You have a heart, baby.
- 42:05SPEAKER_03: Baby, I have no story to be told.
- 42:09SPEAKER_03: But I better want you and I'm gonna make your head burn.
- 42:14SPEAKER_03: Think of me in the depths of your despair.
- 42:19SPEAKER_03: Make it home down, there is my show for share.
- 42:24SPEAKER_03: Scars of your love for mine.
- 42:30SPEAKER_03: Thinking we almost added all.
- 42:33SPEAKER_03: The scars of your love and leave me.
- 43:14SPEAKER_03: With the beating Go your stones to every open door.
- 43:23SPEAKER_03: Seems to find what you look for.
- 43:26SPEAKER_03: Turn master into treasure door.
- 43:31SPEAKER_03: Back in canon reap just what you saw.
- 43:38SPEAKER_03: We could have had it up.
- 43:42SPEAKER_03: We could have had it up.
- 44:31SPEAKER_08: Man, Adele is an absolute legend.
- 44:33SPEAKER_11: You know, I've I've I've said it about Cher, I've said it about be uh not Beyonce.
- 44:37SPEAKER_11: I although I do like Beyonce, but uh Share and then uh Shakira.
- 44:42SPEAKER_08: Shakira, yeah.
- 44:43SPEAKER_11: But uh Madonna.
- 44:45SPEAKER_11: Madonna, but this Adele.
- 44:48SPEAKER_08: She she's got an incredible voice.
- 44:50SPEAKER_08: She does.
- 44:51SPEAKER_08: She's one of the only people who can get a number one hit with just her voice and a piano in the background.
- 44:56SPEAKER_11: Oh, yeah?
- 44:56SPEAKER_08: Even though that that last one, uh Rolling in the Deep, had a whole band behind it.
- 45:01SPEAKER_08: But what is it?
- 45:01SPEAKER_08: Uh Nevermind, I'll find someone like you.
- 45:04SPEAKER_08: That was just her and a piano, and she knocked it out of the park.
- 45:07SPEAKER_11: You know, and she's probably one we ought to do as a spotlight this year at some point, too, I think.
- 45:11SPEAKER_11: Yeah, definitely.
- 45:12SPEAKER_11: Maybe so.
- 45:12SPEAKER_11: All right, and you know, we've got kind of a theme going with our spotlights.
- 45:15SPEAKER_11: As a matter of fact, uh next week is not a spotlight show, but it's going to be um The Groundhog Show.
- 45:20SPEAKER_08: The Groundhog Day show.
- 45:22SPEAKER_08: That's right.
- 45:24SPEAKER_11: Which will be is a bunch of rodents running around.
- 45:27SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it's gonna be about rodents, so stay tuned, folks.
- 45:31SPEAKER_11: All right, well, it is the KSJE Sunday morning wake-up call with my Mystic friend.
- 45:36SPEAKER_11: Mythic.
- 45:37SPEAKER_11: What did you put here in?
- 45:38SPEAKER_11: Mythic.
- 45:39SPEAKER_11: Mythic?
- 45:40SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 45:40SPEAKER_11: Mythic.
- 45:41SPEAKER_11: It sounds like I'm hairlift.
- 45:43unknown: Mythic.
- 45:43SPEAKER_08: Mythic.
- 45:44SPEAKER_08: And you're my trailblazing buddy, David.
- 45:46SPEAKER_11: There we go, I'll take that.
- 45:47SPEAKER_08: These are all words that could be used to describe mononymous artists.
- 45:52SPEAKER_11: Mononymous.
- 45:53SPEAKER_08: Artists that go by one name and one name only.
- 45:56SPEAKER_11: Super.
- 45:56SPEAKER_11: Well, I think it's about time for.
- 45:59SPEAKER_08: It's time for verb.
- 46:01SPEAKER_11: Time for verb.
- 46:03SPEAKER_08: It's time for the things that make you go.
- 46:07SPEAKER_08: Just like has Lauren been drinking?
- 46:09SPEAKER_08: Hmm.
- 46:12unknown: Things that make you go.
- 46:14unknown: Things to make you go.
- 46:17SPEAKER_06: Alrighty tidy.
- 46:19SPEAKER_06: I don't know why I like to say that, but uh, these are some things that uh make you go whom besides me going alrighty tidy.
- 46:26SPEAKER_06: That's right.
- 46:27SPEAKER_06: David's got it.
- 46:29SPEAKER_11: Here it is.
- 46:30SPEAKER_11: Well, the T-Rex likely had feathers.
- 46:33SPEAKER_11: Scientists in China discovered early crustace crustaceous period uh the Tyrannosaurus skeletons that were covered in feathers.
- 46:44SPEAKER_11: If the ancestors of the T-Rex had feathers, the T-Rex probably did as well.
- 46:49SPEAKER_08: Oh, absolutely.
- 46:50SPEAKER_08: I believe it.
- 46:51SPEAKER_11: So this didn't really make you go, hmm, then you knew that already.
- 46:54SPEAKER_08: I've heard this already.
- 46:55SPEAKER_11: Oh, dang it.
- 47:00SPEAKER_11: Oh, well, it is what it is.
- 47:02SPEAKER_11: I am enjoying the show that I had a bad quote.
- 47:06SPEAKER_08: No, you didn't have a bad quote at all.
- 47:08SPEAKER_08: I was just playing with the sound to make it thematic.
- 47:11SPEAKER_08: Umatic.
- 47:12SPEAKER_08: Thematic.
- 47:13SPEAKER_08: You know, theming.
- 47:15SPEAKER_08: Themings here and there.
- 47:16SPEAKER_08: Um my big thing was I love the idea of dinosaurs having feathers because haven't they always said that the like descendants of dinosaurs are birds?
- 47:25SPEAKER_08: Birds, yeah.
- 47:26SPEAKER_08: So wouldn't they have feathers?
- 47:29SPEAKER_11: I agree.
- 47:30SPEAKER_08: And those little tiny T-Rex arms make a little more sense if they are not just tiny little arms, but they were tiny little wings.
- 47:38SPEAKER_11: Yeah, like a penguin.
- 47:39SPEAKER_08: Yeah, like a penguin or a tiny.
- 47:40SPEAKER_11: They couldn't fly.
- 47:41SPEAKER_11: No.
- 47:42SPEAKER_08: And they couldn't quite use them for anything, but uh, that's that's super cool.
- 47:47SPEAKER_11: I like it.
- 47:48SPEAKER_08: Would you say that T-Rex is a mononymous artist?
- 47:53SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 47:54SPEAKER_11: Well, there is a there is um uh a band out there, I thought.
- 47:58SPEAKER_11: Yeah, called T-Rex.
- 48:00SPEAKER_08: Bangagong, get it on.
- 48:01SPEAKER_11: But that's a band, not a person, I don't think.
- 48:03SPEAKER_08: Yeah, no.
- 48:04SPEAKER_08: I think that the original mononymous artist was the T-Rex.
- 48:07SPEAKER_11: The T-Rex.
- 48:08SPEAKER_11: Okay, I'll give you that.
- 48:09SPEAKER_11: I'll give you that.
- 48:10SPEAKER_11: Thank you.
- 48:11SPEAKER_11: Well, I know you got some great uh more great hits picking up.
- 48:13SPEAKER_11: I do.
- 48:15SPEAKER_11: I'm anxious.
- 48:16SPEAKER_08: We're getting towards the end of the show, but I did save the best for last, in my opinion.
- 48:20SPEAKER_11: This is Are we already at the end?
- 48:22SPEAKER_11: Is this the end?
- 48:23SPEAKER_08: This is not the very end.
- 48:25SPEAKER_08: We've only got about two songs left.
- 48:26SPEAKER_11: Okay, so this is second to last.
- 48:28SPEAKER_08: But this is an artist who not only went by one name but one symbol.
- 48:33SPEAKER_12: Oh, of course.
- 48:34SPEAKER_08: He's gonna give us some kisses.
- 48:37SPEAKER_08: This is Prince.
- 49:54SPEAKER_15: I know.
- 49:58SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 50:04unknown: You could be mad.
- 50:07SPEAKER_15: You just did it all.
- 52:07SPEAKER_15: Kiss.
- 52:20SPEAKER_01: For now it is time for the Zen of Ren.
- 52:26SPEAKER_08: Oh Dave, oh Dave, oh Dave.
- 52:28SPEAKER_11: Oh, Ren, oh Ren, oh Ren.
- 52:30SPEAKER_08: Today's wisdom comes to us from a beautiful mind by the name of W.
- 52:34SPEAKER_08: C.
- 52:34SPEAKER_08: Fields.
- 52:35SPEAKER_11: Oh my yes.
- 52:36SPEAKER_08: He says, it ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.
- 52:42SPEAKER_08: Ba-bam.
- 52:44SPEAKER_11: That's fantastic.
- 52:45SPEAKER_11: Do you uh do you have you ever seen the character WC Fields?
- 52:48SPEAKER_11: No, I don't know who it is, admittedly.
- 52:50SPEAKER_11: Yeah, he's kind of a heavyset, kind of bald-headed, big-nosed, kind of an alcoholic kind of looking guy.
- 52:57SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 52:57SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 52:58SPEAKER_11: Fair enough.
- 52:59SPEAKER_11: Absolutely, yeah.
- 52:59SPEAKER_11: I remember, I have him in a mind side for sure, W.
- 53:02SPEAKER_11: C.
- 53:03SPEAKER_11: Fields.
- 53:03SPEAKER_11: Fantastic.
- 53:04SPEAKER_11: W.
- 53:04SPEAKER_11: C.
- 53:04SPEAKER_08: Fields.
- 53:04SPEAKER_08: Well, I really like that quote because it's definitely a reminder that like people can say whatever they want about you.
- 53:10SPEAKER_08: They can think whatever they want, but you are the one who determines who you are.
- 53:14SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 53:15SPEAKER_08: And uh well said.
- 53:16SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and it's well well said, my dazzling friend.
- 53:22SPEAKER_08: Oh, thank you.
- 53:22SPEAKER_08: And my iconic buddy Dave.
- 53:24SPEAKER_11: On the K SJE Sunday morning wake-up call.
- 53:27SPEAKER_08: And we are uh calling it a day, we're calling it a week, and we hope to see you next week when we'll be doing Groundhog's Day, uh, which is all about rodents.
- 53:36SPEAKER_11: The spotlight, though, I'm excited about the spotlight.
- 53:38SPEAKER_11: It's a very little-known artist.
- 53:40SPEAKER_11: She's in a couple of weeks, and that is Chapel Rhone.
- 53:43SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I'm excited about her.
- 53:44SPEAKER_08: If you've been paying attention to pop culture, you've almost definitely already heard of Chapel Roan, but if you haven't, please listen to our episode because she is an absolute gem.
- 53:53SPEAKER_11: And you've got some great quotes from her, too.
- 53:55SPEAKER_08: I do, yeah.
- 53:55SPEAKER_08: I got some fun.
- 53:56SPEAKER_08: I got some quiet.
- 53:56SPEAKER_11: And I've been watching some of her clips.
- 53:58SPEAKER_11: Oh, what a lady.
- 53:59SPEAKER_08: I'm so glad you like her because I love her and it would break my heart if you didn't like her.
- 54:03SPEAKER_11: All right, well, I guess we've got to call it a day.
- 54:05SPEAKER_11: It wouldn't break your heart, but yeah, I do like her.
- 54:07SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 54:08SPEAKER_08: Okay, good.
- 54:08SPEAKER_08: That's all that's.
- 54:09SPEAKER_11: I guess we better call it a day, Miss Wren.
- 54:11SPEAKER_08: Now, here's an artist I know you like.
- 54:12SPEAKER_08: This is a Miss Sade with like a tattoo.
- 54:14SPEAKER_11: Yeah, she is a mononymous wonder.
- 54:19SPEAKER_11: Yeah, exactly.
- 54:19SPEAKER_11: Thanks, Ren.
- 54:20SPEAKER_08: Bye-bye.
- 54:21SPEAKER_08: See ya.
- 54:43SPEAKER_15: Sweet, sweet.
- 55:30SPEAKER_15: She's so happy.
- 55:36SPEAKER_15: Hungry for life.
- 57:43SPEAKER_09: I listen to a wake-up call every week.
- 57:45SPEAKER_09: They make me want to haunt up real big.
- 57:47SPEAKER_07: Oh, rapture, another week is bitten the dust, but fear not, Brandon David will be back again next Sunday.
- 57:53SPEAKER_07: Same old WC time, same old WC channel, because clearly, you're all just dying for more of them.
- 58:01SPEAKER_07: Oh, and by the way, WUC is sole property of Interwest Concepts.com, so don't even think about reusing it without permission.
- 58:11SPEAKER_07: Or who knows, maybe you can, because honestly, who's really paying attention?
- 58:15SPEAKER_07: This is Zeb McCluskey for WUC, and till next time.
- 58:22SPEAKER_07: The excellent to each other.
- 58:24SPEAKER_07: I'm waiting for you to clean the new
