- 0:49Speaker 4: I love it, Thank you, Thanks, thanks for that plug
- 0:51Speaker 4: some days with Joe. I really appreciate it.
- 0:53Speaker 5: Benee, you know how my jars of sauce I have
- 0:55Speaker 5: in my basement of yours like we are, so we
- 0:57Speaker 5: sell them like crazy at Audrey's. But we did to
- 1:00Speaker 5: buy two thousand jars right when we decided to have
- 1:04Speaker 5: you guys salad Audrey's, and sometimes I steal them if
- 1:08Speaker 5: I need extra processauce downstairs it's so good.
- 1:12Speaker 4: How are we doing on those?
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:14Speaker 5: I did.
- 1:14Speaker 4: I sent over a full palate that was about twenty
- 1:17Speaker 4: something hundred. There was almost three thousand, I think.
- 1:20Speaker 5: Okay, so it was twenty seven hundred. Okay, Yeah, well
- 1:22Speaker 5: we're probably have one third left, which is still really
- 1:25Speaker 5: good for not even a year. It's been about ten months.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's great.
- 1:29Speaker 5: That's great.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Coffee shop is keeping both Generous Coffee and Yeah alive.
- 1:37Speaker 2: But yes, those are side projects. But obviously your guys'
- 1:41Speaker 2: biggest passion. The thing that you care the most about
- 1:45Speaker 2: is the Bachelor franchise and you are now hosting Bachelor
- 1:49Speaker 2: Happy Hour.
- 1:49Speaker 3: How does it feel to be the host of this
- 1:55Speaker 3: iconic and massive show.
- 1:58Speaker 6: And when you said the thing you care most about,
- 2:01Speaker 6: I totally thought you're gonna be like your relationship, your marriage,
- 2:05Speaker 6: Bachelor Happy Hour, the franchise.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I just want to make sure you're listening. How
- 2:11Speaker 3: does it feel?
- 2:12Speaker 4: No, if I honestly, it's it's it's an honor. It's
- 2:16Speaker 4: an honor to you know what I've been I've been
- 2:19Speaker 4: in this franchise now for almost five years, and you
- 2:23Speaker 4: guys might.
- 2:23Speaker 5: Have feels like you've been with us for longer.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Well, you you two may have been the first interview
- 2:29Speaker 4: I think I ever did was the almost famous podcast.
- 2:32Speaker 5: And you weren't warmed up yet. You weren't ready for interviews.
- 2:35Speaker 5: I was not a moment.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Yeah, and I remember doing that and thinking like I
- 2:42Speaker 4: will like I will never be good at any of this.
- 2:46Speaker 4: So to be hosting the official Bachelor podcast, it feels
- 2:51Speaker 4: really great and we love watching the show. It's something
- 2:54Speaker 4: we do together and it just it makes it makes
- 2:57Speaker 4: our job the podcast just that much easy.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Well, it is obviously a big deal to be announced
- 3:04Speaker 2: to the host. We're going to get into that in
- 3:07Speaker 2: just a second. But first, as I jokingly expressed earlier,
- 3:13Speaker 2: you guys do care about your relationship a lot. In fact,
- 3:15Speaker 2: you're planning a wedding in Charleston. Are the two of
- 3:18Speaker 2: you ready for this? How long has the planning process been?
- 3:22Speaker 2: And is it going to feel weird to be married?
- 3:27Speaker 5: No, they're married?
- 3:28Speaker 6: Well, well we are already married.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Celebration, I guess to have a celebration now, Yeah, yes.
- 3:34Speaker 6: No, I know what you mean. Yeah, I don't think
- 3:37Speaker 6: it's going to feel weird necessarily. We're definitely excited we
- 3:41Speaker 6: started planning. I want to say it was end of September,
- 3:44Speaker 6: beginning of October of last year. So it's been going
- 3:48Speaker 6: on for a very long time. As both of you know,
- 3:52Speaker 6: wedding planning is a strenuous, never ending process, or at
- 3:56Speaker 6: least it feels that way right now. But we're coming
- 3:58Speaker 6: to a close and and we're really excited. I feel
- 4:01Speaker 6: like all the big decisions have kind of been made.
- 4:04Speaker 6: We still have some things on the list of to do's,
- 4:06Speaker 6: but yeah, we're like a month a month and a
- 4:10Speaker 6: half about we are having the hardest time picking a
- 4:12Speaker 6: first dance song, and there's just things like that that
- 4:16Speaker 6: are like hanging over our heads.
- 4:19Speaker 3: But yeah, we're almost like.
- 4:21Speaker 4: We're because I mean we're getting married like South Carolina,
- 4:24Speaker 4: the South, Where did you get married?
- 4:26Speaker 2: Nashville kind of the South. It's like nobody knows what
- 4:29Speaker 2: Nashville is.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like I guess it's yeah, I guess it
- 4:32Speaker 4: borders like Midwest South. I just I'm the only thing
- 4:35Speaker 4: I'm worried about is just the weather. I just hope
- 4:37Speaker 4: it's not too humid, you know.
- 4:40Speaker 6: Yeah, well, we're in the middle of hurricane season when
- 4:42Speaker 6: we're getting married in the South, so we're outside we
- 4:46Speaker 6: have so the welcome parties outside. Now we have like
- 4:51Speaker 6: obviously Plan b's if it rains, and then our cocktail
- 4:54Speaker 6: hour of the wedding is outside.
- 4:57Speaker 5: So yeah, fingers crossed.
- 4:58Speaker 6: We just need to make it through two day and
- 5:00Speaker 6: obviously we want everyone that's traveling in to Charleston to
- 5:04Speaker 6: have good weather for the weekends so they can really
- 5:06Speaker 6: enjoy the getaway. But nothing you can do about the weather.
- 5:08Speaker 6: You know, what about you guys, did you have outdoor
- 5:11Speaker 6: weddings with weather?
- 5:12Speaker 2: He's fifty to fifty we had backup plans. I'm wondering
- 5:16Speaker 2: because part of that. I mean, you guys have been
- 5:18Speaker 2: married since what October of twenty twenty two, so it's
- 5:21Speaker 2: been it's gonna.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Be over a year, does it. Like one of the
- 5:25Speaker 3: things that was.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Weird about a wedding for me was this person that
- 5:29Speaker 2: I love, who I'm most comfortable with in the world.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I'm also the most nervous to see for like eight hours, right,
- 5:35Speaker 2: Like there's like this period of time where you're like,
- 5:38Speaker 2: you know, the butterflies and you're giddy, but you're like,
- 5:40Speaker 2: I don't know, like why am I so nervous to
- 5:42Speaker 2: see this person that knows me better than anybody.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Do you think the thing is so interesting?
- 5:48Speaker 2: Feeling is going to happen for the two of you
- 5:51Speaker 2: even after being married, you know, for the last year.
- 5:54Speaker 4: I think so, I'm already like, when I think about it,
- 5:57Speaker 4: I get anxious because I'm already worried about like saying
- 6:00Speaker 4: my vows and standing there and seeing her walk up
- 6:04Speaker 4: to whatever romantic song we choose and potentially getting emotional.
- 6:08Speaker 4: So yeah, like first, I'm definitely gonna have that feeling
- 6:12Speaker 4: even though we are already married. Now getting that out
- 6:15Speaker 4: of the way, I'm actually really happy we did because
- 6:19Speaker 4: when we did that, it was extremely intense, more intense
- 6:24Speaker 4: than I pictured going there.
- 6:28Speaker 5: It was more intense going to the courthouse than you imagined.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 6:33Speaker 6: We really downplayed to ourselves the courthouse wedding. And I
- 6:37Speaker 6: think that's because, like for a wedding, you have a
- 6:39Speaker 6: year's worth of build up to this one moment that
- 6:42Speaker 6: you've been thinking about and talking about. Like some people
- 6:45Speaker 6: the build ups like their whole lives, and then the
- 6:47Speaker 6: moment's finally here and you're walking down the aisle. But
- 6:51Speaker 6: for us, we only had like two weeks a build
- 6:54Speaker 6: up to the courthouse wedding, and we were just like, oh, yeah,
- 6:56Speaker 6: this is just something like fun and casual we're going
- 6:58Speaker 6: to do. We went at like nine thirty, I'm on
- 7:00Speaker 6: a weekday, Like I didn't even dress up, which I
- 7:03Speaker 6: highly regret.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Really, we really downplayed it. And then when the woman
- 7:07Speaker 4: started reading what are they called like matrimonial.
- 7:12Speaker 6: Yeah, like we weren't saying our vows, but she gave
- 7:14Speaker 6: the like to.
- 7:15Speaker 5: Have the whole traditional yeah, and Serena like I just
- 7:19Speaker 5: saw like one tear come down Serena's cheek.
- 7:21Speaker 6: And yeah, we were like, oh my god. Like, I
- 7:27Speaker 6: don't think it really hit us until we were standing
- 7:30Speaker 6: there looking at each other getting married that we were
- 7:33Speaker 6: actually getting married. So yeah, it was very emotional. And
- 7:37Speaker 6: we were standing in like a pink room with like
- 7:39Speaker 6: ugly brown carpet. So I can only imagine how it's
- 7:41Speaker 6: going to feel when we're like dressed up in a
- 7:43Speaker 6: beautiful venue.
- 7:45Speaker 5: That's amazing. I want to talk to you guys about
- 7:47Speaker 5: Happy Hour for a second. There's a little drama over
- 7:50Speaker 5: the fact that Michelle and Becca weren't exactly like they
- 7:55Speaker 5: They didn't like the way that it was handled where
- 7:57Speaker 5: they were kind of pushed aside and you guys were
- 7:59Speaker 5: brought and as hosts. Can you tell us behind the
- 8:01Speaker 5: scenes how that all went down.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Sure, I don't know exactly how it went down as
- 8:07Speaker 4: far as the show and them as far Like I
- 8:13Speaker 4: when we got offered the job, I called Becca and
- 8:17Speaker 4: let her know because we were both kind of under
- 8:20Speaker 4: the impression that all the podcasts were done. I was
- 8:22Speaker 4: part of Clickbait for almost three years. Yeah, so yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 4: I just kind of like let her know, and she
- 8:30Speaker 4: was honestly, she said nothing but nice thing. She was like,
- 8:32Speaker 4: I'm very happy for you. Like, if I was in
- 8:34Speaker 4: your position, I would definitely take it. So as far
- 8:38Speaker 4: as our relationship goes were on great terms.
- 8:43Speaker 5: Okay, Serena, you're now a host and you get to
- 8:57Speaker 5: do it with your husband, which I feel like probably
- 8:59Speaker 5: makes it all easier because you guys just probably chat
- 9:03Speaker 5: about this in your regular life. Now you're just doing
- 9:04Speaker 5: it with microphones in front of you.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:07Speaker 6: No, it's been good. Definitely, like nice to have a
- 9:12Speaker 6: small portion of our careers overlap because we are in
- 9:15Speaker 6: the same world and it's nice to kind of have
- 9:16Speaker 6: our own separate thing and then also something that we
- 9:18Speaker 6: work on together. And it's very easy, Like obviously we
- 9:22Speaker 6: literally are just chatting about the show, which is very
- 9:25Speaker 6: natural and organic for us, and we actually enjoy podcasting together,
- 9:29Speaker 6: like we like being co hosts and we work well together.
- 9:32Speaker 6: So yeah, it's been fun so far. I'm glad that
- 9:35Speaker 6: we get to do it together and share this kind
- 9:37Speaker 6: of part of our part of our careers.
- 9:40Speaker 2: You know, it is a This is a show that
- 9:42Speaker 2: obviously Michelle and Becka both cared about because they were
- 9:45Speaker 2: outspoken and kind of their maybe sadness or have you know,
- 9:49Speaker 2: we'll let them put the emotion behind it and just
- 9:51Speaker 2: having to say goodbye to it, which would be weird.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Ashley and I actually talked in the phone after this
- 9:56Speaker 2: is kind of announced, SAI.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Wouldn't that be weird if one day we got the
- 9:58Speaker 3: phone call and.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Almost famous was like and hand it off to somebody
- 10:01Speaker 2: like this, it would feel odd and it'd have to
- 10:03Speaker 2: change the logo.
- 10:05Speaker 3: So I think we're in a purpose, that's all. Yeah, that's all.
- 10:09Speaker 2: But it's really great to hear that Becca was so
- 10:12Speaker 2: supportive Joe. You know, I'm sure there was still some
- 10:16Speaker 2: like you know, hard feelings a little bit, but towards
- 10:19Speaker 2: you and Serena that she wanted to see success. That's
- 10:21Speaker 2: not the case always in this franchise. As you guys
- 10:23Speaker 2: have probably seen, there's unique examples that I'm sure all
- 10:26Speaker 2: of us have on here where people in this franchise
- 10:29Speaker 2: want to, you know, destroy you if you get an
- 10:32Speaker 2: opportunity they don't, and so it is good to see.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And so with this new opportunity, one that the former
- 10:38Speaker 2: hosts were obviously a little sad to give up, what
- 10:40Speaker 2: do you guys want to do with it? Like, what
- 10:41Speaker 2: are you most excited about? How do you see this
- 10:44Speaker 2: opportunity kind of growing as you guys become the host?
- 10:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean the thing I'm most excited about truly
- 10:52Speaker 4: is just working with Serena, my wife, Like we have
- 10:57Speaker 4: I feel like we have great chemistry and great great
- 11:00Speaker 4: banter when we hope where we podcast, Okay, when we podcast,
- 11:06Speaker 4: I feel like we know. But the now when we podcast,
- 11:09Speaker 4: like this past episode with Aaron b you know, we
- 11:12Speaker 4: finished and it really doesn't feel like an interview or
- 11:15Speaker 4: like work, because I just feel like we jive and
- 11:19Speaker 4: we drive so well together, like there's a rhythm to it.
- 11:23Speaker 4: So that's what I'm most excited for, And like potential
- 11:25Speaker 4: opportunities from hosting together and hopefully you know, other entities
- 11:32Speaker 4: see us as professional hosts, which would be great.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Maybe one day we could do the red carpet like
- 11:40Speaker 4: Ashley and jareded at the Mission Impossible event.
- 11:43Speaker 5: So thank you for the opening on that. I have
- 11:45Speaker 5: been dying to talk to Joe about this.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I'm still waiting for that phone call for Ashley and
- 11:49Speaker 2: I to get together, but somehow Jared always replaces me.
- 11:53Speaker 5: But today we did first look together as well. That
- 11:56Speaker 5: was a really cool first opportunity, and we did Winter
- 11:58Speaker 5: Games together. Accounts Okay, so Joe. Funny situation with Joe.
- 12:03Speaker 5: The other day, we look up it's like a multiple
- 12:07Speaker 5: story premiere space in Lincoln Center, and we look up
- 12:11Speaker 5: and see Joe there, and Jared and I are in
- 12:13Speaker 5: the press area because Jared and I were kind of
- 12:15Speaker 5: there as like partially influencers and then partially press, and
- 12:19Speaker 5: we saw him when we were in our press area,
- 12:21Speaker 5: and we knew that Tom was Tom Cruise was probably
- 12:26Speaker 5: gonna go and say hello to the influencers up there
- 12:30Speaker 5: because he literally says hello to everyone. They told us
- 12:34Speaker 5: when we first started, when we first checked in at
- 12:37Speaker 5: the press area. They're like, okay, so this is how
- 12:38Speaker 5: it's gonna work. Tom craz is gonna come in. He's
- 12:41Speaker 5: going to say hello to every single fan in the stands,
- 12:44Speaker 5: so make sure that you allowed like an hour and
- 12:46Speaker 5: a half of just that. Then he'll start making his
- 12:48Speaker 5: way around the press and he's gonna he's going to
- 12:51Speaker 5: talk to every single press outlet. He's amazing. Now we
- 12:55Speaker 5: are joking with Joe up there. We're like, are you
- 12:57Speaker 5: gonna go say hi to Tom when he comes up there,
- 13:00Speaker 5: and you know he's Joe, He's like, yeah, probably like hi, right,
- 13:04Speaker 5: and and then he goes up there. We see him
- 13:09Speaker 5: out there mingling Tom Cruise. And then then Joe texts
- 13:13Speaker 5: Sharon and goes, I chickened out, couldn't shake his hand.
- 13:18Speaker 5: So the only one, only one, the only influencer.
- 13:22Speaker 4: So we're up there and like the security guard comes by,
- 13:26Speaker 4: he's like, everyone, please focus on the elevator. Talent will
- 13:29Speaker 4: be coming through. And I'm just like all right, like
- 13:32Speaker 4: we'll see and then Tom Cruise walks in and everybody
- 13:35Speaker 4: everyone's lined up and they're all talking to him, and
- 13:37Speaker 4: he's very engaging and everyone smiling and laughing and I'm
- 13:41Speaker 4: like okay, and I'm sitting back. I'm like, yeah, I'm
- 13:44Speaker 4: gonna go say hi. And then because I think I hesitated,
- 13:47Speaker 4: I got in my head and I was like and
- 13:50Speaker 4: then my moment came and I and I panicked and I.
- 13:54Speaker 5: Did he look at you and like was ready to
- 13:56Speaker 5: meet you?
- 13:57Speaker 4: Yeah, And then my hands were getting clammy so I
- 13:59Speaker 4: didn't want to.
- 14:02Speaker 5: Wait.
- 14:02Speaker 6: Is that what you posted that thread? That was like
- 14:05Speaker 6: what's worse being the person with the clammy hands or
- 14:09Speaker 6: shaking someone's hands that are clammy.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Yeah, And I'm like, I can't shake Tom Cruise's hand
- 14:13Speaker 4: with a clammy hands.
- 14:14Speaker 5: You could have done pound he does like half pounds
- 14:17Speaker 5: and half hand jakes.
- 14:18Speaker 4: I could have, but it was, you know, seeing something
- 14:20Speaker 4: like he is like right, like he is.
- 14:22Speaker 5: The biggest movie star on the planet.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Probably is he like the last like movie yeah star,
- 14:28Speaker 4: like he is enlisted. So finally and finally seeing him
- 14:31Speaker 4: in person, I was like, Damn, that's that's Tom Cruise.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Like Serena and I we just watched you watched for
- 14:37Speaker 4: the first time Risky Business. He's so young in that Yeah,
- 14:41Speaker 4: but you could tell like in that movie he's.
- 14:45Speaker 5: He's a star.
- 14:46Speaker 6: In that movie truly, Like I remember watching it being
- 14:49Speaker 6: like they must have just been like we struck gold
- 14:51Speaker 6: with this guy.
- 14:52Speaker 5: Like yeah, real breakout role. Yeah, okay, well that's jose
- 14:57Speaker 5: Joseph a photo down there.
- 15:01Speaker 6: He sent me a photo of you guys, and then
- 15:02Speaker 6: he sent me a photo and it was like a
- 15:04Speaker 6: blurry kind of like behind someone photo, and I was like,
- 15:06Speaker 6: is that Tom Cruise? Like is that what this photos of?
- 15:09Speaker 5: And he was like yeah.
- 15:10Speaker 6: I was like, oh my gosh, You're.
- 15:11Speaker 5: Like next to him, Like did you say hi?
- 15:13Speaker 6: He was like no, I chickened out. I couldn't do it.
- 15:16Speaker 6: But I only was saying hi to everyone except for you.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Joe.
- 15:20Speaker 5: You let that out. Joe. If you're with Serena, I
- 15:23Speaker 5: bet you would have more guts. It's weird when you're
- 15:26Speaker 5: by yourself.
- 15:27Speaker 4: If I was with well, I was with my friend.
- 15:29Speaker 4: But if I was with Serena, she would have said
- 15:31Speaker 4: let's she would have said right away, let's go, let's
- 15:34Speaker 4: go stand up there, and then I would I wouldn't
- 15:36Speaker 4: have thought about it. Whenever I overthink a situation, that's
- 15:39Speaker 4: when I get nervous and then I get in my
- 15:41Speaker 4: head and then I'm just like.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Okay, well that's just better off. I just sit back here.
- 15:45Speaker 5: But so Tom Cruise first night of the Bachelorette, same
- 15:50Speaker 5: Joe comes out same, same, same, same.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Well Tom Cruise is now entered into three of our
- 15:56Speaker 2: last three podcasts. It has been a conversation for Ashley
- 16:00Speaker 2: for the last three podcasts to get back to why
- 16:03Speaker 2: we're here. We do have the host Bachelor Happy Hour
- 16:07Speaker 2: with us. A final question for you, guys, Ashley and
- 16:10Speaker 2: I in seven years of being married through a podcast,
- 16:17Speaker 2: we've really, I think, figured out how to do this.
- 16:20Speaker 2: I never worry about the drama between the two of us,
- 16:22Speaker 2: We've never really had it. But we don't agree on everything.
- 16:26Speaker 2: In fact, we have some passionate opinions towards certain things,
- 16:29Speaker 2: certain people, certain situations, certain dates. Have you two yet
- 16:34Speaker 2: ran into where you're hosting this show and you, guys,
- 16:37Speaker 2: realize you're not going to agree about this, and how
- 16:40Speaker 2: do you navigate that and kind of separate the fact
- 16:42Speaker 2: that you're also married and you probably have arguments within
- 16:45Speaker 2: that marriage.
- 16:46Speaker 3: How do you do that in a healthy way or
- 16:48Speaker 3: how do you pred on doing it?
- 16:50Speaker 4: I think yeah, I mean we just in life in general,
- 16:53Speaker 4: we disagree on a lot, and we respect each other's
- 16:58Speaker 4: feelings and decisions and we have normal conversations about it.
- 17:02Speaker 4: But in the past we had hosted I think we
- 17:05Speaker 4: hosted Clickbait together a few times where we did disagree
- 17:08Speaker 4: on things on the podcast, and that like, for me,
- 17:11Speaker 4: that's I have a lot of fun like arguing back
- 17:14Speaker 4: and forth and hearing somebody else's point of view. So
- 17:18Speaker 4: I mean, I I truly enjoy it about you, Serena.
- 17:21Speaker 1: I like this.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Yeah, yes, that's great, that's great. No, I do think
- 17:27Speaker 6: it makes for fun and interesting conversation when we have
- 17:30Speaker 6: differing opinions on something that's happening on the show and
- 17:33Speaker 6: we can kind of go back and forth. I don't
- 17:35Speaker 6: think anything's come up that we were like so passionately
- 17:38Speaker 6: disagreeing about that it would result in any sort of argument.
- 17:41Speaker 6: I mean, we're recapping The Bachelor, like it's just meant
- 17:43Speaker 6: to be lighthearted and fun. But yeah, there's been no
- 17:47Speaker 6: times where like anything transitions from the podcast where I'm like,
- 17:50Speaker 6: how dare you disagree with me on that?
- 17:52Speaker 5: Like the franchise, Yeah, no.
- 17:57Speaker 3: That would that would not be a good move. Well,
- 17:59Speaker 3: we're super happ to have you.
- 18:00Speaker 2: We've always had a great relationship at Bachelor Happy Hour,
- 18:04Speaker 2: we look forward to what content you're putting out there,
