- 0:00Speaker 1: This could be a bad show. It'll be bad.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I did to do a show, but let's find out.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Yes, from Las Vegas, Nevada, this is the Sherry Here Show.
- 0:19Speaker 1: People real problems and real therapists. You can submit your
- 0:21Speaker 1: questions anonymously at pod therapy dot net, email us at
- 0:24Speaker 1: pod Therapy, guys at gmail dot com, and now broadcasting from.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Cherry Here Studios. That's Jim, that's Whitney on Nick Sign.
- 0:31Speaker 3: So I'm just hearing this for the first time. And
- 0:34Speaker 3: this was not in the script that I saw.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I assume Sherry Paige, you no, here's what happens.
- 0:39Speaker 4: I don't know what's happens.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I have no idea what amends it is.
- 0:43Speaker 3: That's it because you can't be bribed, but you will
- 0:46Speaker 3: do anything to make somebody as I'm sorry.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that's one hundred percent what this is about. However,
- 0:53Speaker 1: there's a twist to this. So if you remember this
- 0:56Speaker 1: is this goes back almost since last scoop Fest, so
- 1:01Speaker 1: eighteen months ago. She reached out to us and was
- 1:05Speaker 1: really nice about it. Yes, she's always very nice. Hey,
- 1:09Speaker 1: I just I noticed that my name doesn't You've been
- 1:12Speaker 1: a supporter and you guys never say my name. Yeah,
- 1:16Speaker 1: and then so I remember this and I was like,
- 1:18Speaker 1: oh shit, I'm so sorry. We got it plugged back in. Yeah,
- 1:23Speaker 1: completely forgot about since then. Okay. So then I see
- 1:27Speaker 1: her at scoop Fest and we're talking and she's like,
- 1:32Speaker 1: motherfucker right in the neck. That would be acceptable.
- 1:39Speaker 4: To your head to a Midwest boy.
- 1:45Speaker 5: Oh.
- 1:45Speaker 1: She was so sweet about it because she was blaming Patreon.
- 1:49Speaker 1: She's like, you know, I just don't know what it is,
- 1:51Speaker 1: something about my Patreon. It just doesn't seem to work. Yeah,
- 1:54Speaker 1: my name.
- 1:54Speaker 2: But the bad thing is that does happen. Okay, So
- 1:57Speaker 2: here's the twist.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Because I was thinking, like, uh, Sherry, you know it's
- 2:03Speaker 1: not patrioon. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know we fucked up.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Fu you, Tanjamin. I own one hundred percent I do
- 2:09Speaker 1: wrong on this show. We have a division of labor
- 2:11Speaker 1: that is your fucking department, write yourself up, goddamn shared business.
- 2:20Speaker 1: So then I was like, oh my god, I feel
- 2:22Speaker 1: so stupid. I will make this up to you, and
- 2:26Speaker 1: so I said, I'm very sorry. I will fix this.
- 2:30Speaker 1: And so then it is the first of the month
- 2:32Speaker 1: as we're recording this. That's right, So I'm putting together
- 2:36Speaker 1: all the names, and we read it at the end
- 2:37Speaker 1: of the show and I search again. I read through
- 2:41Speaker 1: that list and her name's not on that. So it
- 2:44Speaker 1: is Patreon. It is Patreon. And then so then I
- 2:47Speaker 1: went back again and I did it a different way,
- 2:50Speaker 1: and then it did appear. Oh yeah, I know that
- 2:52Speaker 1: thing is a bitch. It's okay.
- 2:54Speaker 6: Yeah, that's the thing, is like it can be because
- 2:56Speaker 6: we have the same problem. Yeah, and you don't always
- 2:59Speaker 6: know is this a Patreon problem or am I a
- 3:02Speaker 6: dumb ass?
- 3:04Speaker 1: Because they're both equally equas. Because here's what happens is
- 3:09Speaker 1: if I go in there and I just click search
- 3:12Speaker 1: by their pals, yeah, right, I get a list, but
- 3:15Speaker 1: it's not on it. You get a list. Yeah. If
- 3:17Speaker 1: I go in and I search by donation amounts, right
- 3:20Speaker 1: in the amounts, that's get a different list. Yes, it's
- 3:24Speaker 1: so fucking dumb. I don't know why. It sounds like
- 3:27Speaker 1: something sucked up. Yeah, so I wanted to making this
- 3:32Speaker 1: entire show about Sherry. Yeah, now I'm not going to.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Did you just get the intro? That's I feel like
- 3:37Speaker 1: I did my part. This was definitely a pat.
- 3:39Speaker 3: You've got enough Sherry, Okay, we've gotten up to this,
- 3:42Speaker 3: I do come to you about.
- 3:44Speaker 6: I kind of like having a Patreon level where the
- 3:47Speaker 6: studio just gets named after you for a session. Oh yeah,
- 3:53Speaker 6: that's a great production beating on air right now.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we are.
- 3:58Speaker 3: If you are at a certain level of giving, we
- 4:01Speaker 3: will name the studio after you.
- 4:02Speaker 1: For a month.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I will say, well, name I would you say, I
- 4:04Speaker 2: said an episode one episode?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, the episode session? Yeah great, and uh name
- 4:09Speaker 1: it after your name or whatever you want, whatever you
- 4:11Speaker 1: want to make. Which is the real.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Opportunity because some people will stop, like sure called cherry hair,
- 4:16Speaker 3: and some people are like, okay, great, I have a
- 4:18Speaker 3: lot of ideas.
- 4:21Speaker 6: Rac racial slurs, hate speech or anything like that, unless,
- 4:26Speaker 6: of course.
- 4:28Speaker 1: The Jeff Memoriam studios.
- 4:33Speaker 6: You can say anything about Jim and Jerry Fallwell, that's right, Jesus,
- 4:40Speaker 6: you could say this about Jim and Jerry.
- 4:44Speaker 1: You can say anything you want.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Studied under many Jerry's you know, many people called me
- 4:50Speaker 3: Jerry's Jerry's Jeff's Jim.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Many people call him Jerry's kid. That's right. It was
- 4:55Speaker 1: well known in those circles.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Well, we are post scoop fest, everybody, and we saved
- 5:00Speaker 3: our recap of scoop Fest for the main show instead
- 5:03Speaker 3: of talking it behind Patreon, because we just want to,
- 5:05Speaker 3: you know, tell the tale. We had such a great time.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Our voices are a little raspy. It is literally the
- 5:10Speaker 3: Sunday of the weekend of Scoopfest and we are all
- 5:13Speaker 3: in full blown recovery mode. It has been a wild
- 5:15Speaker 3: several days. But I thought it'd be fun to to
- 5:18Speaker 3: kind of tell our stories from scoop Fest and the
- 5:21Speaker 3: the fun things. The biggest thing to me that caught
- 5:24Speaker 3: me off guard this year about scoop Fest was the documentary,
- 5:27Speaker 3: which I didn't see coming at all. You'd never brought
- 5:30Speaker 3: it up. It just casually to me anyway, I don't
- 5:32Speaker 3: know about it.
- 5:34Speaker 6: It's not us, Oh it is uh scoop JD is
- 5:40Speaker 6: uh kind of spearheading desks.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Wow with some documentarians.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Oh that's so cool.
- 5:45Speaker 6: So they are they are the ones doing it. Oh
- 5:47Speaker 6: h now I mean the they of course. Yeah, of
- 5:49Speaker 6: course we gave it our blessing. Yeah, yeah, welcome, and
- 5:53Speaker 6: we are participating wholeheartedly. Yeah, but yeah, it's it's so wild.
- 5:57Speaker 6: It is simply like we had a I had one
- 5:59Speaker 6: meeting with them.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Wow.
- 6:01Speaker 6: And and just you know, just to make sure that
- 6:03Speaker 6: everybody was on the same page about what was going
- 6:05Speaker 6: to happen. And we had space delegated for them in
- 6:07Speaker 6: the rooms and all, and they had confessional booths and everything.
- 6:12Speaker 6: So yeah, you know, obviously we worked with them, but
- 6:15Speaker 6: they they did all of that. Uh, truly, prepping for
- 6:20Speaker 6: them on my end was basically nothing.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Wow, you know, sending audio feeds to them from from
- 6:27Speaker 1: our stuff and that kind of that kind of thing.
- 6:29Speaker 1: But really that's what that was about. That they did
- 6:31Speaker 1: it just like a big professional team back in a
- 6:35Speaker 1: in a I think they said, I don't know, a
- 6:38Speaker 1: month or two something like that, okay, to do more
- 6:41Speaker 1: in depth interviews with myself and and math.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Wow, I think they want to get our wives in
- 6:46Speaker 2: there as well.
- 6:47Speaker 1: That's really cool.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Well yeah, that was that was wild, like getting to
- 6:50Speaker 3: the thing and being like, by the way, you sign
- 6:52Speaker 3: a waiver and we're like what, so.
- 6:55Speaker 6: Well that was the waivers were actually me because they
- 6:59Speaker 6: wanted to and this turned out to be an absolutely
- 7:03Speaker 6: nothing thing, but I wanted to make sure that it
- 7:05Speaker 6: would be a nothing thing. What their initial plan was
- 7:09Speaker 6: was to just put the signs up that say basically
- 7:10Speaker 6: like if you come into this area, you're giving.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Consent to being filmed.
- 7:14Speaker 6: Yeah, And I didn't feel right doing that because it's
- 7:17Speaker 6: a ticketed event and we didn't say that as part
- 7:19Speaker 6: of the.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Ticket, right, And so I just said, you know, no, no.
- 7:21Speaker 6: I I want to give everybody the opportunity to say no,
- 7:26Speaker 6: and or if they have a question about it or whatever,
- 7:28Speaker 6: to be able to ask their question good faith before
- 7:31Speaker 6: saying yes or no to the question.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I just wanted to give everybody the opportunity to say
- 7:34Speaker 2: yester no to the question.
- 7:35Speaker 6: So that and I knew that would slow the process
- 7:38Speaker 6: down a little bit for everybody, but I figured that
- 7:40Speaker 6: was worth it.
- 7:42Speaker 1: The uh So, the funny thing about that was like
- 7:44Speaker 1: I knew the documentary was happening, and then that I
- 7:48Speaker 1: just kind of pushed out of my head. And then
- 7:49Speaker 1: later on somebody said something about the waivers, which I
- 7:52Speaker 1: first thought was a joke and then realized, oh, there
- 7:55Speaker 1: are waivers. Yeah, And I realized this right before the
- 7:58Speaker 1: mouth finger buttthole turned yes, and so I was like,
- 8:01Speaker 1: how how rough is this? Yeah?
- 8:03Speaker 2: Yeah, like last year was just rock paper scissors.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's literal, it's.
- 8:09Speaker 6: Full of contact. Yeah, it is mouth finger butthole. Yeah,
- 8:13Speaker 6: it's in the name Cholas, in the name. Yeah, we've
- 8:17Speaker 6: simulated enough years now we do. We've been practicing. Now
- 8:20Speaker 6: we're doing it for.
- 8:22Speaker 5: There was a scoop standing next to me at one
- 8:24Speaker 5: point who said, I'm really glad I didn't win the
- 8:27Speaker 5: mouth finger butthole tournament because.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I got like a job and a career. I can't in.
- 8:32Speaker 5: This documentary, like I can't mean but.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Like that's a good pointing. That is crazy to me
- 8:39Speaker 1: because like, and that's a real thing. But I'm like, oh,
- 8:41Speaker 1: that is so outside of your thought.
- 8:43Speaker 4: I thought process never crossed your mad at all.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:46Speaker 6: Yeah, And like the idea that that somebody would be
- 8:50Speaker 6: upset with someone for doing a mouth finger butthole tournament. Sure,
- 8:54Speaker 6: it's such a ridiculous things delicately about it.
- 8:57Speaker 1: There's delicate places in the world. Mouth figure as a
- 9:00Speaker 1: but hole. That's right, those people are sensitive.
- 9:02Speaker 3: I want to hear everybody's like special memories of this
- 9:05Speaker 3: year and kind of like you know, high points, low points,
- 9:08Speaker 3: one thing that that did happen, which was super cool,
- 9:11Speaker 3: And I'm excited whenever this comes the past that we
- 9:13Speaker 3: can put it out through our side too. But I
- 9:15Speaker 3: had reached out to Great Night, and I was like, hey,
- 9:17Speaker 3: you know, every single time we see guys at scoop Fest,
- 9:19Speaker 3: we alway get along. So well, you've invited us to
- 9:21Speaker 3: come out to Austin and do a live thing with you. Obviously,
- 9:24Speaker 3: traveling is always hard and you know, it's never come
- 9:26Speaker 3: together right. And it was so funny how well they
- 9:30Speaker 3: handle this because Nick and I went through a mini
- 9:32Speaker 3: crisis with this, because like, poor Nick is like watching
- 9:34Speaker 3: me try to shoot my shot and then like just
- 9:38Speaker 3: watching me fuck it up, you know, and then like
- 9:39Speaker 3: trying to like talk me down.
- 9:41Speaker 1: And here's a ledge, here's let me paint some different pictures. Okay, okay, Yeah,
- 9:45Speaker 1: here's how this works. If you want to see the
- 9:48Speaker 1: behind the scenes business what happens here at pod Therapy
- 9:52Speaker 1: as a business organization. Yeah. I am so excited to
- 9:56Speaker 1: hear this be said out loud, this because I think
- 9:58Speaker 1: I know exactly where Nick is going.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Jim gets us into these.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Crazy yeah Scooby Doo like adventures and then looks to me.
- 10:09Speaker 2: We get in this situation and then he looks to
- 10:11Speaker 2: me it's like what do we do?
- 10:12Speaker 1: Now do we do? And I'm like, we got here
- 10:15Speaker 1: in your mystery machine. Dude, I don't know what to
- 10:18Speaker 1: tell you. The answer you give me that is, you're
- 10:21Speaker 1: always very political about it. You're like, well, we could
- 10:23Speaker 1: do this or this, But I just want to remind
- 10:26Speaker 1: you that I support whatever your decision is because this
- 10:29Speaker 1: is yours. You did this.
- 10:30Speaker 6: That that is very close, but not exactly how it
- 10:33Speaker 6: looks from the outside.
- 10:35Speaker 1: From the outside, it's exactly like that. Everything you just
- 10:39Speaker 1: said was what was one hundred thousand percent accurate? Uh huh,
- 10:42Speaker 1: except for the what do we do now? Part? Yeah?
- 10:44Speaker 6: Yeah, because from the outside it sure looks like it's, well,
- 10:48Speaker 6: why'd you put us here?
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah? What are we doing now? What's up? Yeah?
- 10:55Speaker 3: So I had reached out to Great Night and I
- 10:56Speaker 3: was like, I would love to do a collaboration, but
- 10:58Speaker 3: my pitch was and this was was upside down. I
- 11:00Speaker 3: was like, uh, I'd like us to be guests on
- 11:04Speaker 3: your show, right, you be in Las Vegas, so we'll
- 11:07Speaker 3: get you a studio set up in the whole Rasmataz
- 11:09Speaker 3: and then you can do it. And God bless them
- 11:12Speaker 3: they I wrote three paragraphs in an email, and they're
- 11:15Speaker 3: very busy guys who have a million Yeah, exactly, this
- 11:18Speaker 3: was way too much data, and so they just glanced
- 11:20Speaker 3: at it and said, oh, yeah, shimp from pot therapy something. Yeah,
- 11:23Speaker 3: we'll do a thing together yep, and say right back
- 11:24Speaker 3: and They're like, yeah, man, let's do it. And I'm like, huh,
- 11:27Speaker 3: that was easy, like hmm, and I tell I'm like,
- 11:30Speaker 3: guess what We're gonna be guessed on great night.
- 11:32Speaker 1: He goes, hey, reread that shit though. Make sure I'm like, well, yeah,
- 11:35Speaker 1: I said yes, I don't think you read it, dude.
- 11:38Speaker 1: So fast forward.
- 11:41Speaker 3: I end up making a huge fucking disaster out of
- 11:43Speaker 3: all this, trying to book a studio and then backing
- 11:45Speaker 3: out of that because I'm like, oh, I don't think
- 11:47Speaker 3: that this is all going to get together, and I'm
- 11:48Speaker 3: stepping out of the things that they were super super generous. Ultimately,
- 11:52Speaker 3: i'd SYNCD up with Brian and he just he's like,
- 11:55Speaker 3: he goes, so I was rooting your email. Walk me
- 11:57Speaker 3: through what you want to happen, man, Like, just tell
- 11:59Speaker 3: me what you want. And I was like, hey, man,
- 12:01Speaker 3: at this point, I will take any kind of interaction
- 12:03Speaker 3: at all.
- 12:03Speaker 1: It'd be fun.
- 12:04Speaker 3: But yeah, like in a perfect world, it would have
- 12:06Speaker 3: been really cool to just be on your show, but like,
- 12:08Speaker 3: we can't make it to Austin.
- 12:08Speaker 1: It's really hard to do it. He goes, Okay, I'll
- 12:10Speaker 1: tell you what we're gonna do.
- 12:11Speaker 3: We're gonna make good on a promise from two years
- 12:13Speaker 3: ago that you guys would be on our show.
- 12:14Speaker 1: We're gonna fucking do it. And so he goes and
- 12:16Speaker 1: gets Justin.
- 12:17Speaker 3: He drags in the room Justin, who I believe became
- 12:20Speaker 3: annoyed with me starting right then. I think before that, yeah,
- 12:24Speaker 3: I don't think I existed in Justin's brain at all.
- 12:26Speaker 3: I don't think he knew that I existed. It like
- 12:28Speaker 3: all that therapy show that's Friends with Jacob Great, you
- 12:30Speaker 3: know that's about it. And from that moment on, I
- 12:32Speaker 3: remember he walked in the room. He's so disappointed because he's.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Like, what are we doing? And like, and Brian left
- 12:38Speaker 1: to go use the bathroom. So here I am sitting
- 12:40Speaker 1: in Brian's room, Justin getting summoned into the room and
- 12:42Speaker 1: he's like, hey, who are you. Like, my name is Jim,
- 12:46Speaker 1: I'm a therapist. Like you're gonna do a show? Goes okay, Jim,
- 12:52Speaker 1: I have a question for you that just occurred to me. Yeah,
- 12:55Speaker 1: when you meet just a new person.
- 12:57Speaker 6: Yeah, not not a new person as a client or
- 13:00Speaker 6: anything else, Yeah, but just a new person. Say, uh,
- 13:03Speaker 6: your wife introduces you to a friend.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Of all colleague. Yeah.
- 13:07Speaker 6: Uh, do you introduce yourself and say Hi, I'm Jim,
- 13:10Speaker 6: I'm a therapist.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Every time?
- 13:12Speaker 3: Oh oh yeah, it's pretty pretty common.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I like throw on Colonel as well. Yeah, like
- 13:19Speaker 1: Colonel Colonel surprise me at all? Yeh yeah yeah.
- 13:21Speaker 3: So he is just bewildered and uh, and I'm just
- 13:23Speaker 3: sitting there like waiting for Brian to come back. So
- 13:26Speaker 3: Brian comes back and uh, and he ends up saying,
- 13:28Speaker 3: hey man, we're just gonna we're gonna do a episode
- 13:29Speaker 3: of Great Night.
- 13:30Speaker 1: This is Jim, he's from pod Therapy.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Uh, let's just go and and so like great, they
- 13:34Speaker 3: need no preptice, jump in, have a great time with it.
- 13:36Speaker 3: So we ended up doing this whole set from their
- 13:39Speaker 3: hotel room. They have it video and stuff, so they're
- 13:40Speaker 3: gonna release that at some point. I'll get a hold
- 13:42Speaker 3: of it and pump it through our stuff as well
- 13:43Speaker 3: as people can find it. But it was super super cool.
- 13:46Speaker 3: That was like this really big high moment where I
- 13:49Speaker 3: was like, wow, that was really fun, and like it
- 13:51Speaker 3: was neat to see them do their craft and be
- 13:53Speaker 3: on somebody else's show, and like that was super sweet
- 13:55Speaker 3: of them to do this and put up with my
- 13:56Speaker 3: bullshit and all my neurotic shit.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I was super happy. Then we go do our trivia
- 14:00Speaker 1: battle against I see us another great high point where
- 14:04Speaker 1: we won. We were glorious and victorious.
- 14:08Speaker 3: And I'm gonna tell you why we won because Paul
- 14:10Speaker 3: maddingly does not understand what gainsmanship means. Because at the
- 14:14Speaker 3: end he's like, I have an idea, let's duplicate their answer.
- 14:18Speaker 3: And it was like, Paul, this is your one chance
- 14:20Speaker 3: to get more points than us, Like we have one
- 14:22Speaker 3: over you if you duplicate our answer. You heard conceding
- 14:25Speaker 3: the match, and and so thank you Paul for just
- 14:29Speaker 3: you know, giving it away there at the end.
- 14:30Speaker 4: You mean it wasn't Jacob sabotaging Jacob.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I did successfully sabotage you guys. True, Yeah, which.
- 14:38Speaker 2: That only cost you one point.
- 14:39Speaker 1: It was not enough to remember the last time we
- 14:41Speaker 1: tagged Jacobin and he got us a right answer.
- 14:44Speaker 3: I don't think I don't think it's ever happened. I mean,
- 14:47Speaker 3: the bit is good. We keep doing it likes the
- 14:50Speaker 3: stop anytime. So that was a pretty cool high point.
- 14:54Speaker 3: All you have to do is call the Brady Cunt.
- 14:56Speaker 3: That's right dot com slash therapy. You can find out that.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Been trying to do it and we just.
- 15:05Speaker 1: So that was pretty cool.
- 15:07Speaker 3: But then whenever the big title fight trivia happened, where
- 15:10Speaker 3: great night versus I C. S. That's going on and
- 15:13Speaker 3: I'm so I'm just having a great day this day.
- 15:14Speaker 3: There's nothing required of me.
- 15:16Speaker 1: All of my.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Performance stuff with I C. S and and scoopass is
- 15:18Speaker 3: now complete. We did our trivia, we had our fun.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Great I am just a spectator now I'm enjoying it. It
- 15:24Speaker 3: was a killer day. And then uh and then great night.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Out of nowhere, Brian just fucking calls me up to
- 15:30Speaker 3: the table and like.
- 15:31Speaker 1: You didn't know he was gonna do that, not a
- 15:33Speaker 1: clue at all. This is this is new information. You
- 15:41Speaker 1: played the music immediately, you did not job quick. Yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 1: I'm good at what I so like, I'm just this
- 15:52Speaker 1: is about to leave this room. This is literally what
- 15:54Speaker 1: I do.
- 15:57Speaker 4: That's his job is listening for timed things.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And they're in the middle of the game and all
- 16:02Speaker 1: of a sudden they get like a science question. Brian
- 16:04Speaker 1: like has this whole like thing where was like.
- 16:05Speaker 3: We're calling up Jim from pot There Bay and then
- 16:08Speaker 3: like the music starts playing. I'm like what the ship
- 16:10Speaker 3: And I'm in the back getting a beer and I'm
- 16:12Speaker 3: like what, Like I turn around and I'm.
- 16:14Speaker 6: Like that not what it looked like from from the stage.
- 16:17Speaker 6: It looked like you were aware that you were going
- 16:19Speaker 6: to get called up.
- 16:19Speaker 4: I'm so glad he stood up.
- 16:21Speaker 5: I was like, oh, that's why he stood up because
- 16:23Speaker 5: they thought that I was on get up.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you played it well then, because you look like
- 16:29Speaker 1: you're in you and I felt like there's only one
- 16:33Speaker 1: move now right, like there is no b bewildered like
- 16:36Speaker 1: you you know, the assignment go and so like run
- 16:38Speaker 1: up there, get fired up.
- 16:40Speaker 5: Go.
- 16:40Speaker 3: So then he gives me a T shirt and he's
- 16:42Speaker 3: like you're on the team and I'm like okay, and
- 16:44Speaker 3: like then I'm at this point where I'm like like
- 16:45Speaker 3: put it on, yeah, and waving it around and it's like, buddy,
- 16:49Speaker 3: i am not a this is not gonna fit me
- 16:53Speaker 3: like and I'm like fuck it, I'm a squeeze my
- 16:55Speaker 3: fat ascid of the ship for the bit, but then
- 16:58Speaker 3: I didn't know what to do because I'm like, can't
- 17:00Speaker 3: say when we tagged Jacob and he does one question
- 17:02Speaker 3: and then he goes wherever he was at, and so
- 17:04Speaker 3: I don't know if I'm doing the one bit or
- 17:06Speaker 3: if I'm supposed to stay, and so I'm trying to
- 17:08Speaker 3: read the moment, and like, I assume everybody else knows
- 17:11Speaker 3: the Fu's going on, and so I'm like trying to
- 17:13Speaker 3: answer the question. And then Jacob comes running over with
- 17:15Speaker 3: a microphone, and I think you and I we were
- 17:18Speaker 3: trying to read the other guy, because I think you're
- 17:20Speaker 3: seeing that I'm standing there long enough that you're like,
- 17:22Speaker 3: all right, give him a mic, right, and so like
- 17:23Speaker 3: this is your chance because you're not on mic right now.
- 17:25Speaker 1: So you ran over, did it? Well? That gave me
- 17:27Speaker 1: the impression that this was all pre rehearsed and that
- 17:30Speaker 1: I was supposed to sit down.
- 17:33Speaker 3: So I was just now I'm up there, and now
- 17:35Speaker 3: I'm trapped, and now I'm part of it, and you
- 17:36Speaker 3: know who really didn't want that to happen, justin it
- 17:40Speaker 3: was pretty.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Really couldn't tell me that was the best. I haven't
- 17:46Speaker 1: gotten all the audio of it. Yet. But y'all are
- 17:48Speaker 1: going to release that on your on your patron. Is
- 17:50Speaker 1: that your plan? I actually posted a straight to your
- 17:52Speaker 1: twitch the link video. Yeah, so it's already up there,
- 17:56Speaker 1: the audio from it. I don't think we do. Some
- 17:57Speaker 1: people say that the twitch expires, though, and so I
- 18:00Speaker 1: don't know how that works, because it seems like an archive.
- 18:01Speaker 1: It's just up there for I think it expires for
- 18:04Speaker 1: a short period of time afterwards and then opens up again. Okay,
- 18:08Speaker 1: I couldn't the magic bit, Yeah you went up there
- 18:11Speaker 1: for Yeah, I couldn't open that right away.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Okay, but I tried today and I could.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Okay. Oh yeah, I think there is a like a
- 18:19Speaker 1: It sounds familiar. I haven't really dealt with Twitch in
- 18:21Speaker 1: so long. Yeah, there's probably that aspect of it, because
- 18:24Speaker 1: I think we just have our set now and so
- 18:26Speaker 1: I don't have to think about it.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, attention to it.
- 18:29Speaker 3: So here we are. I'm trying to contribute my little bits.
- 18:32Speaker 3: I'm also trying to like keep in mind, you are
- 18:35Speaker 3: not You don't need to carry this. These guys are
- 18:37Speaker 3: all pros. You just don't don't try to film the
- 18:39Speaker 3: silence you got. This just added a little bit of
- 18:41Speaker 3: banter and then shut the fuck up. So I'm doing
- 18:43Speaker 3: a mostly pretty good job on the gym scale of
- 18:45Speaker 3: shutting the fuck up. I was on the lower end
- 18:48Speaker 3: of being a good shut the fuck up guy.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I thought you were doing just fine.
- 18:51Speaker 6: It was, but I'm thinking this was also five of
- 18:54Speaker 6: us can also run over anybody.
- 18:55Speaker 1: You guys are You're not going to always down.
- 18:59Speaker 3: So like, I'm thinking that this is all planned, this
- 19:01Speaker 3: is all a good thing, and then the moment I
- 19:02Speaker 3: realize it is not is whenever Justin basically just says
- 19:06Speaker 3: it'd be really great if you shut the fuck up,
- 19:09Speaker 3: and I'm like, and that's the moment in horror that
- 19:11Speaker 3: my brain goes, oh, no, he didn't want this.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I shouldn't be here. Brian was trying to just do
- 19:16Speaker 1: a quick, clever thing, and I've swallowed the hook. Well
- 19:21Speaker 1: here's the.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Thing, and I don't know this, but I know this.
- 19:27Speaker 1: There's no way that Brian and Justin talked about that beforehand.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I would also be very, very surprised if Brian had
- 19:37Speaker 1: a thought of how long you were going to stay
- 19:39Speaker 1: on stage once you came on stage.
- 19:41Speaker 6: Yeah, well I tell you what we're used to.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Here's exactly what we're used to. Here's show biz lesson
- 19:47Speaker 2: number one for Jim.
- 19:48Speaker 6: Okay, what we're used to is like when you call
- 19:52Speaker 6: me up for the quiz. Yeah, I don't stick around
- 19:56Speaker 6: until you release me, right, all me up, I do
- 20:01Speaker 6: what I do, and then I leave when I'm ready
- 20:03Speaker 6: to leave, right. That's the thing is so always you
- 20:09Speaker 6: got to keep a little bit of your main character
- 20:11Speaker 6: energy going all the time and go like yes, fuck yeah,
- 20:14Speaker 6: I'm gonna go up here and I'm gonna answer a
- 20:16Speaker 6: question and then i'm gonna book, or I'm gonna go
- 20:20Speaker 6: up there and I'm gonna make myself comfortable, and uh,
- 20:23Speaker 6: don't worry about me because I'm gonna be fine until
- 20:26Speaker 6: I'm ready to book. I was, but you can't.
- 20:30Speaker 1: You can't do.
- 20:30Speaker 6: These thing because we're not we're not writing a show,
- 20:34Speaker 6: we're not planning, we're not planning any of that.
- 20:37Speaker 1: We're just going with it. And so like you come
- 20:40Speaker 1: up on stage, I'm fine with it.
- 20:41Speaker 6: I assume that Brian had a conversation with you. But
- 20:45Speaker 6: either way, if I gotta go get water, water in
- 20:48Speaker 6: a second. Either way, like he had an idea, I
- 20:55Speaker 6: think be fine.
- 20:56Speaker 1: I knew you'd be fine. I wouldn't worried about you.
- 20:59Speaker 2: And so I'm like, I'm gonna facilitate this.
- 21:01Speaker 1: And make it easy to go whatever. I'm gonna.
- 21:05Speaker 6: Right and and it's gonna be fine, and then we're
- 21:08Speaker 6: all just gonna roll with it and whatever happens happened.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Yeah, somebody laugh of the entire trivia was justin shipping
- 21:15Speaker 1: on Jim. I was glad I did my part. Also
- 21:19Speaker 1: I delivered. I will point out that that was the
- 21:22Speaker 1: second time over the weekend that somebody on stage told
- 21:25Speaker 1: you to shut the funk up? Oh was it? What
- 21:27Speaker 1: was the first one?
- 21:32Speaker 2: Shut shut?
- 21:34Speaker 3: You know what is not getting the stop bringing me
- 21:38Speaker 3: on stage, assholes.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I have a very specific part, So that was Yeah,
- 21:45Speaker 1: that caught me off. It turned into a great.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Bit where like the ICs guys are just having a
- 21:50Speaker 3: fun time with that, like, yeah, you just closeline your
- 21:52Speaker 3: own tea mabee.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh yeah, No. We started it because well, we
- 21:56Speaker 1: can't pile up on you. That's not fun for anybody.
- 21:59Speaker 1: It's not fun if we make you cry.
- 22:04Speaker 2: No, we have to now make fun of Justice.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Also it's easy to make fun of Justice's.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Funny though, because afterward he pulls aside to me, this
- 22:11Speaker 3: is on stage. I think it was off mic though,
- 22:13Speaker 3: and he goes, hey, man, I'm sorry, but that fucking killed.
- 22:17Speaker 1: That's good fun. I understand the assignment. I'm here to help.
- 22:21Speaker 1: So that was pretty cool. And after that I was like,
- 22:23Speaker 1: it would be great to just not be on stage anymore.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Yes, Jim doesn't want to perform weddings.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Wedding Jim is tapped out with all you have to do. Yeah,
- 22:33Speaker 3: call him a cunt just one time. So those are
- 22:36Speaker 3: some of my high points from scoop Fest. And then
- 22:39Speaker 3: of course, uh, the costume contest Scoop or the Jock
- 22:43Speaker 3: versus Nerd Ball Scott fucking showing up as a human
- 22:47Speaker 3: issued map that I have drawn that has been fished
- 22:50Speaker 3: out of a trash can and meticulously recreated into an
- 22:54Speaker 3: entire full body costume. Ye, that was glorious and it
- 22:57Speaker 3: was water painted and it was so good. And then yeah,
- 23:00Speaker 3: water color. And then he actually went to like a
- 23:03Speaker 3: map making company. It was like randall to figure out
- 23:06Speaker 3: how do they disperse colors on a map, Like what.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Is what is the theory of the right color?
- 23:10Speaker 1: And those colors to the states I had regardless of
- 23:13Speaker 1: where those states exist, Like, but if Nebraska was orange,
- 23:16Speaker 1: it's orange on his map, and like even if the
- 23:19Speaker 1: same color running into each other and it's just an
- 23:23Speaker 1: absolute mess. So tip of the cap.
- 23:25Speaker 3: That was my favorite costume, and those are some of
- 23:28Speaker 3: my highlights, But I'm curious what some of the bright
- 23:31Speaker 3: moments for y'all were.
- 23:33Speaker 5: I think probably my favorite was towards the end. We
- 23:38Speaker 5: were all at McMullen's having a good time last night,
- 23:42Speaker 5: and there was I went to talk to Sammy, scu
- 23:44Speaker 5: and Cody, and there was a guy Mike there who asked,
- 23:50Speaker 5: I had a best buy uh oh yeah, magnet name tag.
- 23:53Speaker 1: On somebody gave you a best buy name tag.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Lots of common tory on it.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I was like, okay, but creepy was a legit creepy casto,
- 24:07Speaker 1: so uh chetos.
- 24:13Speaker 4: I think it was.
- 24:16Speaker 1: A single cheeto. Oh god.
- 24:19Speaker 5: But I think it was his wife who was like, oh, hey,
- 24:22Speaker 5: I see you have the name tag. Do you want
- 24:23Speaker 5: another one, just to like give to someone this the
- 24:26Speaker 5: last one. I was like, sure, I'm sure someone will
- 24:29Speaker 5: want this, like people have commented on it. So literally,
- 24:32Speaker 5: like five minutes later, I'm talking to Sammy Scoop and
- 24:34Speaker 5: this guy a dressed as Starbucks Matt's first job Starbucks.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Matt Donaldy the Starbucks barista.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Yes, yes, with the pause, yes. He starts chatting.
- 24:46Speaker 5: He's like, oh, I haven't ever you know, I haven't
- 24:48Speaker 5: listened to your podcast or whatever. And I was like,
- 24:51Speaker 5: that's okay, you should if you're interested whatever, like Sammy's
- 24:53Speaker 5: hyping it up and we're He looks at me, he goes, oh,
- 24:58Speaker 5: my gosh, creepy best By guy.
- 25:00Speaker 4: I was like, yes.
- 25:01Speaker 5: He's like, I where did you get that? I was like,
- 25:03Speaker 5: and I reached in my pocket and pull out the
- 25:05Speaker 5: best Buy me.
- 25:06Speaker 4: He's like yes, like he's like, my night is made.
- 25:09Speaker 4: This is amazing.
- 25:10Speaker 5: Like he's from Canada. Oh, it was actually the guy
- 25:13Speaker 5: who came up on stage.
- 25:16Speaker 4: His name is Mike. I think so.
- 25:19Speaker 5: Mike's chatting with me and we bring up Nightmare before
- 25:22Speaker 5: Christmas because I love Nightmare before Christmas and this is
- 25:25Speaker 5: my tired, tired brain math.
- 25:27Speaker 6: I was it's technical schooport and I don't remember if
- 25:29Speaker 6: his name I don't remember, yes, if his name is
- 25:31Speaker 6: Mike or not.
- 25:32Speaker 1: I think it is Mike. Mike.
- 25:34Speaker 6: If you're if you're listening or technical Schooport, because I
- 25:36Speaker 6: know that's your name. Yeah, if you're listening to your
- 25:39Speaker 6: name is not Mike. Sorry, I remember your.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Your scoop name.
- 25:41Speaker 4: No, I'm pretty sure it was Mike, but I could
- 25:43Speaker 4: be wrong.
- 25:43Speaker 5: So so technical scoop Port.
- 25:48Speaker 4: He's like, uh.
- 25:49Speaker 5: So we started talking about Nightmare before Christmas, and I
- 25:52Speaker 5: was like, I'm I'm a betting woman now I hate
- 25:55Speaker 5: I never gamble, I never bet, and I'm like, Nightmare
- 25:58Speaker 5: before Christmas was made and I ninety seven.
- 26:00Speaker 4: He's like, I think it's ninety three. I was like, yeah,
- 26:03Speaker 4: I will bet on it. Like, so, here's my thing.
- 26:06Speaker 5: I was seven when I saw it, so in my
- 26:09Speaker 5: mind I was like, no, it was ninety seven. But no,
- 26:12Speaker 5: I was seven when it came out, so if that
- 26:15Speaker 5: would be ninety three. So anyway, I was like so
- 26:17Speaker 5: dead set that it was ninety seven. I was like,
- 26:19Speaker 5: I'm gonna do that math.
- 26:21Speaker 1: So I was like, you bet your masters?
- 26:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I bet five bucks, so you know almost my master.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Wouldn't you start small? Okay? I started small to but.
- 26:34Speaker 4: It starts you guys.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Start the attic a dark place by Christmas.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Fingertopp and over there.
- 26:47Speaker 5: So the best part was that I get I lose obviously.
- 26:51Speaker 5: I give him the five dollars and he turns around
- 26:55Speaker 5: and goes, will you sign this? I was like, yes,
- 27:01Speaker 5: standing behind me, woa wo. I've been on this podcast
- 27:05Speaker 5: for eight years and nobody's asked me to sign anything.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I'm like, this does not I thought Nick was going
- 27:12Speaker 1: to be like defacing currencies a crime and I will
- 27:15Speaker 1: not stand here and Thetory or during the scoop Fest, No, no, no,
- 27:21Speaker 1: and the very first scoop Fest. He's the one that
- 27:25Speaker 1: that we first did that was a show creators.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Okay, oh that one, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah, I
- 27:34Speaker 3: remember that. I only signed autographs that one time because
- 27:37Speaker 3: Jake had giant posters motivational posters made out of that
- 27:42Speaker 3: was really funny. And so then they piled them upon
- 27:44Speaker 3: a table and gave me a SHARPI.
- 27:45Speaker 5: And okay, sign these, but no, like Sammy went and
- 27:49Speaker 5: grabbed a pen. I was like, oh my god, this
- 27:50Speaker 5: is silly. He's like, no, I'm not going to spend this.
- 27:53Speaker 5: I'm going to say this is like a treasure. And
- 27:55Speaker 5: he's like and I'm going to start listening.
- 27:56Speaker 1: I was like, that's so cool. That's really cool. Now
- 28:00Speaker 1: he can forge your signature.
- 28:01Speaker 5: There you go, like this is better, Prince print your
- 28:06Speaker 5: name underneath the signature.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Low point was it the Irish nachos? What do you
- 28:10Speaker 3: think of those? I never had them.
- 28:12Speaker 4: I like them. I feel like they were overhyped.
- 28:15Speaker 1: You know.
- 28:15Speaker 5: What I did was sausage rolls.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Leg that's going to get those this time too.
- 28:23Speaker 4: They're so good.
- 28:24Speaker 6: It's like a nice breakfast sausage, like a legit nice sausage.
- 28:31Speaker 2: That has like a like a mustard based dipping sauce.
- 28:34Speaker 4: The mustard.
- 28:35Speaker 2: The sauce is real good too.
- 28:36Speaker 4: It was so good.
- 28:37Speaker 5: So my opinion was the corn beef was really good
- 28:40Speaker 5: on the notch. Those potato chips are like they're legit,
- 28:43Speaker 5: but they're over cooks.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Just I don't don't they weren't they weren't making the potatoes.
- 28:49Speaker 4: I don't like that.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Eat the people of Ireland now, I guess that's where
- 28:52Speaker 1: the show's turned.
- 28:53Speaker 4: Everyone's hype of the Irish welly.
- 28:56Speaker 6: In Whitney's defense, one way to avoid another potato famine
- 28:59Speaker 6: is not eat the potatoes that you have.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, yeah that's right, So just serving potatoes. I
- 29:06Speaker 1: like that.
- 29:07Speaker 6: She saw a problem happen one time, and now she's
- 29:09Speaker 6: she's making sure to not repeat the same mistakes of
- 29:12Speaker 6: the past.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:13Speaker 5: My low point was not being able to be there
- 29:16Speaker 5: Friday to see Hazels performing or guys. Yeah no, but
- 29:24Speaker 5: I really was, I'm not going to know anything going on.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Yeah, man, there's so much that happens in such I mean,
- 29:33Speaker 3: I didn't get to go to uh the Bucket show.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Then I had wedding on Thursday, so I missed all
- 29:39Speaker 3: that fun stuff. Got there all day Friday, all day Saturday,
- 29:42Speaker 3: which was really great. Another high point as Shan and
- 29:45Speaker 3: the Ruckus.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Jesus, you're mediographer for the night, I know.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I always try to get a few like good
- 29:52Speaker 3: ones that I can put them online because I mean,
- 29:54Speaker 3: they're up there, they're fucking crushing and they're so good
- 29:56Speaker 3: and so professional. They don't walk around with an entire
- 29:59Speaker 3: like social media team that can help grab some content
- 30:02Speaker 3: for them. So anytime I see her out in the
- 30:03Speaker 3: wild and like, hey, let me just try to help
- 30:05Speaker 3: you know my part, But no, they they are so
- 30:08Speaker 3: much fun, Like I love that.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Yeah, they're a great party band, is such a good
- 30:11Speaker 1: time and they just play along with the audience. And
- 30:14Speaker 1: that is always a really good one. They love the Scoops. Yeah,
- 30:17Speaker 1: and I told the I told the Scoops.
- 30:18Speaker 6: I said on ice Cream Social they had an offer
- 30:21Speaker 6: for another gig that was going to pay him more
- 30:23Speaker 6: than than we were paying them.
- 30:24Speaker 2: And the band voted and they all wanted to play
- 30:26Speaker 2: Scoop Fest. That was really odd.
- 30:28Speaker 1: I did also like that Irish band that you guys,
- 30:31Speaker 1: that was so cool. Those are the guys cruise ship
- 30:35Speaker 1: that's met them. He met them on the cruise ship.
- 30:38Speaker 1: It was a three piece band, a violinist, a guitarist
- 30:41Speaker 1: and a flutistut thank you. And they also I don't
- 30:50Speaker 1: jim okay, is it flu? What's their name?
- 30:57Speaker 6: I mean they they were put together by a music agent.
- 31:01Speaker 6: They did not know each other. They were put together
- 31:04Speaker 6: by a music agent to work on cruise ships. And
- 31:07Speaker 6: then they really liked playing together, so they formed a
- 31:10Speaker 6: band and now they now they work together, you know,
- 31:13Speaker 6: on purpose.
- 31:15Speaker 1: That was a great act that man. I love.
- 31:17Speaker 2: They performed at the barbecue as well.
- 31:19Speaker 3: And you know, we should speak about the Magician because
- 31:21Speaker 3: we tipped I was on this magician like Gabriella, so
- 31:25Speaker 3: we see her in the green room because we had
- 31:27Speaker 3: just done trivia. She's back there and so she's a sweetheart.
- 31:29Speaker 3: She's like, oh yeah, you know a magician. I'ma be
- 31:31Speaker 3: prowing after you were like great, and I said, hey,
- 31:33Speaker 3: if you need any volunteers or anything at that, like
- 31:35Speaker 3: I love that kind of ship, and you know, like
- 31:37Speaker 3: I'll do it. You were asking, yeah, yeah, I had
- 31:41Speaker 3: not gotten enough. This is the part where I was
- 31:44Speaker 3: comfortable with it. That was good at that part wanting
- 31:48Speaker 3: attention and he changed later on to not wanting to enough.
- 31:52Speaker 3: This is my theory about Jim.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Okay, here it is here.
- 31:55Speaker 2: It is Jim needs attention. Yes, this is not this,
- 32:00Speaker 2: This is not not there. This is the fact he
- 32:02Speaker 2: just he craves it. He's got to have it. It's
- 32:05Speaker 2: his lifeblood. The problem is the bucket he has to put.
- 32:11Speaker 1: The attention into. It was so small it has to.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Be but can't be over times.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Guys, you have nailed me to a wall like fu
- 32:26Speaker 3: you just diagnosed all.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Of its next analogies.
- 32:32Speaker 1: And then once the bucket's over, full of like oh no,
- 32:36Speaker 1: run run away.
- 32:40Speaker 4: Now one gonna go hide in the room next just
- 32:44Speaker 4: I roll this way.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Gym is on stage and Nick's like gems like, what
- 32:47Speaker 1: should I do? Nick? No, No, I don't know. You're
- 32:50Speaker 1: the one who got yourself on stage. My wallet.
- 32:57Speaker 3: So that was really good. She was she crushed, She
- 32:59Speaker 3: was really really entertaining. She let me be up there.
- 33:02Speaker 1: For a couple of has dealt with you as effectively
- 33:07Speaker 1: she was? She had you nailed.
- 33:11Speaker 2: There was nothing like damn.
- 33:14Speaker 4: That so fast?
- 33:16Speaker 1: She just I mean it was she established.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Dominance very effectively.
- 33:23Speaker 1: She's really funny. Man.
- 33:25Speaker 2: She offered me a sticker.
- 33:30Speaker 1: It was like watching it was like watching Who's the
- 33:34Speaker 1: Who's the dog whispers? It was exactly like one that's
- 33:39Speaker 1: running around everywhere.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Just a sudden you need a stick or you need
- 33:47Speaker 4: she's the boss down.
- 33:49Speaker 1: That was the one.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Two sprays of cold water to my face and I
- 33:53Speaker 3: was like, okay, oh that was not water. It was
- 33:56Speaker 3: not cold and it was body tip. That's right. So
- 34:00Speaker 3: those are my highs. Another one there too. But it
- 34:02Speaker 3: sounds like you had a good time, Whitney, and this
- 34:04Speaker 3: is your second scoop fest.
- 34:05Speaker 5: It is, And that's really the main thing I wanted
- 34:08Speaker 5: to share too, is just the people are so amazing.
- 34:12Speaker 5: They're so amazing, Like I can't get over how authentic
- 34:17Speaker 5: and genuine everyone is and just kind and supportive and
- 34:21Speaker 5: they give you ship sometimes too, but I love it.
- 34:23Speaker 1: They know then it'll get enough credit for that because
- 34:26Speaker 1: like I think it's a very hard balance when and
- 34:29Speaker 1: this is I think a little bit meta. It's a
- 34:30Speaker 1: little bit theory of shows.
- 34:32Speaker 3: So like the three or four of us, like you
- 34:34Speaker 3: guys will tease me, it's part of the bid. If
- 34:36Speaker 3: you treated me that way all the time, our friendships
- 34:39Speaker 3: would be strained. It would be difficult. You know, we
- 34:41Speaker 3: can't always go through life with kick Jim and the balls.
- 34:43Speaker 3: You know, there's a time and the place we could
- 34:45Speaker 3: you could. You know, it happens more often than I
- 34:47Speaker 3: wish it would.
- 34:49Speaker 1: I think it'd be a lot harder for you than us,
- 34:54Speaker 1: hurt more than my foot, that's right.
- 34:56Speaker 3: And like people pick up on the bid and they'll
- 34:58Speaker 3: they'll play along, and it's so hard to get that
- 35:01Speaker 3: right right, everybody does.
- 35:04Speaker 1: It's hard. It's tough to pick up somebody else's bit
- 35:07Speaker 1: and do it in the first place.
- 35:08Speaker 6: Yeah, especially when it's at somebody else's expense.
- 35:11Speaker 1: It's a hard needle to thread.
- 35:13Speaker 3: But people are really sweet about it, and like they'll
- 35:15Speaker 3: do just the basic teasy, you know.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Ribbons, they'll imply the imply the meanness exactly.
- 35:21Speaker 3: They'll come up and change my name tag like somebody
- 35:24Speaker 3: camp and put you know, doctor Jim geography scoop. And
- 35:29Speaker 3: then somebody else saw that and comes over and goes, oh, Jim,
- 35:32Speaker 3: I'm sorry they did that to you.
- 35:33Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, I'm used to it. He goes, no,
- 35:34Speaker 1: I'll fix it, pulls out a marker, crosses off doctor. Yeah.
- 35:37Speaker 2: He just walks away.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, that is truly the perfect amount. Yeah, that
- 35:45Speaker 1: was exactly it is. I'm going to allude to being
- 35:48Speaker 1: mean to Jim. Yeah, I know the bit. I don't
- 35:50Speaker 1: even have to do it. It's just Jim mean thing
- 35:53Speaker 1: number three.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Yeah, that thing they tease you about. Indeed they do
- 35:57Speaker 3: tease me about that.
- 35:57Speaker 1: All right, have fun.
- 35:59Speaker 3: Everybody's that's a sweetheart, like just really really cool energy.
- 36:02Speaker 3: So you're right that the people are the easiest the
- 36:05Speaker 3: best part, so much fun hang out with and then
- 36:07Speaker 3: going year after year after year and getting to just
- 36:09Speaker 3: so casually hang out with people and it's just becoming
- 36:12Speaker 3: so much more natural, like it's just every you remember folks,
- 36:15Speaker 3: And that's always funny to me too. Because I'll see
- 36:17Speaker 3: somebody be like, oh, Brian, you know it's Brian Layman.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Oh my god, and he'll be like, hey man, you
- 36:20Speaker 3: remember my name. I'm like, Brian, you have been sponsoring
- 36:22Speaker 3: the show for a very long time. Like I have
- 36:24Speaker 3: seen you many many times. You were in my fantasy
- 36:26Speaker 3: football league. Brother, I remember you. I know who you are.
- 36:30Speaker 3: So it's it's just really cool to like forge those
- 36:32Speaker 3: real friendships where you do meet people and you spend
- 36:34Speaker 3: time with them. So the scoops are wonderful. Thank you
- 36:36Speaker 3: for sharing your audiences. When we were doing the documentary thing,
- 36:39Speaker 3: they asked us after we whipped your ass in trivia,
- 36:42Speaker 3: they were like, so, what does your audience have in
- 36:45Speaker 3: common with ice cream social How did this happen?
- 36:49Speaker 1: And we basically told the history story of No, we
- 36:51Speaker 1: were just absorbed into this black hole, like our moon
- 36:54Speaker 1: passed too close to Jupiter. Yeah, and we were just
- 36:57Speaker 1: taking in on the orbit. And now there is no
- 36:59Speaker 1: vendor diagram. It's a circle, right, their their fans are
- 37:02Speaker 1: just our people and we don't have other people.
- 37:05Speaker 2: That part's not true.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Yeah, we brought certainly. Yeah, I believe that was true
- 37:10Speaker 1: at a time there was, but that I don't believe
- 37:12Speaker 1: that is true.
- 37:12Speaker 5: Now there's at least one or two people I can
- 37:14Speaker 5: think of that said they found ice Cream Social through us.
- 37:18Speaker 4: That's kind of cool, but it still makes the circle.
- 37:20Speaker 1: But it's like cool, I rememberest.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Kevin Chamberlain and his wife had come out and longtime
- 37:26Speaker 3: their producers, and we saw them at a tiki place
- 37:28Speaker 3: and I was hanging out with them and I was
- 37:30Speaker 3: like so so telling me about how you found ice
- 37:32Speaker 3: Cream Social and like, did you find us? And he goes, no,
- 37:34Speaker 3: the other way around, man. We I was looking up
- 37:36Speaker 3: organically search words for different mental health podcasts, found one
- 37:39Speaker 3: of the episodes loved It Loved Jacob started went down
- 37:43Speaker 3: a rabbit hole into that Loved It you guys pitch
- 37:45Speaker 3: scoop Fest, and now we're here and we are having
- 37:48Speaker 3: a last and it's like that was like the first
- 37:50Speaker 3: time ever that I was like, oh, this shit, that
- 37:51Speaker 3: that is so cool that it's.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Organically that way. But yeah, it is awesome. What were
- 37:57Speaker 1: your high points and low points here? I would say my, uh,
- 38:02Speaker 1: my high point is just seeing the same people and
- 38:06Speaker 1: just being able to go back and we just pick
- 38:08Speaker 1: up right where we left off, just pick up a
- 38:10Speaker 1: conversation just like, hey, so, how are you doing since
- 38:13Speaker 1: last time we talked?
- 38:14Speaker 4: You're following for so long?
- 38:16Speaker 2: I feel like, yeah, well, and it's I think when
- 38:18Speaker 2: you meet people in person, like I always feel like,
- 38:21Speaker 2: and we kind of talked about this ahead of time, like, hey,
- 38:24Speaker 2: if I don't remember your name or whatever, you know,
- 38:26Speaker 2: it's I don't.
- 38:27Speaker 4: I do like that.
- 38:28Speaker 5: There were a few people I did remember the name
- 38:30Speaker 5: that they still clarified or like.
- 38:31Speaker 1: I'm like, I know, I know, which I appreciated, but I.
- 38:33Speaker 4: Told them I was like, thank you for clarifying.
- 38:35Speaker 3: If you met two dozen people tomorrow and you liked
- 38:38Speaker 3: all of them, and then you know a year later
- 38:41Speaker 3: you saw them again, you're gonna look at them and go,
- 38:43Speaker 3: I know we've hung out. I remember you, and I
- 38:45Speaker 3: remember thinking like I enjoy you, but I don't remember
- 38:47Speaker 3: if your name is Stephanier.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Seas Surprisingly for me, though, that it didn't happen okay,
- 38:52Speaker 1: Like everybody I met, I like, yeah, I remember you,
- 38:56Speaker 1: and and I I remember what we talked about it
- 38:59Speaker 1: last time.
- 39:00Speaker 4: I'm choking.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Yeah, And so I remembered all of that stuff, and
- 39:05Speaker 1: so getting to meet a few new people too. But
- 39:07Speaker 1: it's it's always fun to just have some place where
- 39:10Speaker 1: we you know, we don't necessarily have to keep in
- 39:13Speaker 1: touch throughout the year, but we know what everybody, we
- 39:18Speaker 1: know where we're going to be in eighteen months.
- 39:20Speaker 2: We're all going to be right back here.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Right.
- 39:26Speaker 4: A studio.
- 39:27Speaker 1: It's nice. Yeah. What's your low point when Justin clotheslined
- 39:31Speaker 1: me during trivia? All of our low points, honestly, the
- 39:35Speaker 1: low point a little protective of you, I did. Oh
- 39:41Speaker 1: that's cool. I was a little upset. I was like,
- 39:47Speaker 1: I can kick him in the balls. Yeh, war.
- 39:53Speaker 4: Next job, Jacob, Oh, thank you.
- 39:57Speaker 1: It's very flattering. You don't punch him in the face.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Uh No.
- 40:03Speaker 2: My low point I think was when it was over.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that's always rap up. Yeah, yeah, the good byes.
- 40:11Speaker 1: They're always so hard.
- 40:13Speaker 6: After I got home last night, because we we you know,
- 40:16Speaker 6: after the whole thing is over, we have we have
- 40:18Speaker 6: to load everything up. Oh yeah we got Yeah. It's
- 40:21Speaker 6: truly not and it went swimmingly well this year. Uhy
- 40:26Speaker 6: like shout out to our safety cones.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Uh.
- 40:30Speaker 6: They just do a remarkably good job. They do, and
- 40:33Speaker 6: they've and they've all done it now a couple of
- 40:35Speaker 6: years we had one. We had one guy Colton this year.
- 40:38Speaker 6: This was his first year. But then everybody else they'd
- 40:41Speaker 6: at least done it one one time before, which means
- 40:44Speaker 6: that I have to explain a whole lot less. Yes,
- 40:46Speaker 6: I just get to say, hey, remember we set that
- 40:48Speaker 6: up last time, do that again, and they go, oh, yeah, great,
- 40:52Speaker 6: everything they do they.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Do, Yeah, they're fantastic. Oh excuse me. I also forgot
- 40:59Speaker 1: where I was going with the story.
- 41:01Speaker 4: Oh, then.
- 41:03Speaker 1: End of scoop est we were we were.
- 41:04Speaker 6: Loading out, Uh, we got everything packed up, we got
- 41:06Speaker 6: it all down to the truck, and then we we
- 41:11Speaker 6: brought the truck back to my house. We unloaded everything,
- 41:13Speaker 6: uh into my shop, which right over here I'll start
- 41:17Speaker 6: going through stuff tomorrow and getting stuff stored away and everything.
- 41:23Speaker 6: But after that we went to see this is what's
- 41:26Speaker 6: happening in my brain right now, just take upping. After that,
- 41:29Speaker 6: we went back to mcmullins, whereverybody was. So we went
- 41:32Speaker 6: we went and dropped the truck off actually in return
- 41:34Speaker 6: that and then and then came to mcmullins. And I
- 41:37Speaker 6: got home from mcmullins at probably two thirty or three,
- 41:41Speaker 6: and I went and sat in my backyard for a
- 41:43Speaker 6: little while, and I hadn't taken a shower yet or anything.
- 41:46Speaker 6: It's like, I'm just gonna sit here decompressed for a
- 41:48Speaker 6: little bit. Sat out there for probably half an hour
- 41:51Speaker 6: forty five minutes, and uh stood up. I was like, okay,
- 41:54Speaker 6: I've I've sat long enough. Now I'm gonna take a
- 41:58Speaker 6: shower and get in bed. And uh so I stood
- 42:01Speaker 6: up go to walk inside. And I walked about halfway
- 42:04Speaker 6: to the door, and this has never happened to me before.
- 42:08Speaker 6: It just ran out of energy.
- 42:10Speaker 4: And just stopped a literal wall.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:12Speaker 6: I was like, oh, I'm just gonna take a break.
- 42:16Speaker 6: I'm just gonna stand here. I just got stood for
- 42:19Speaker 6: a minute and then I finished walking.
- 42:21Speaker 1: To the house. Oh and it's not like it's you know,
- 42:24Speaker 1: it's thirty feet Yeah.
- 42:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:26Speaker 5: I feel like that's such a good example of when
- 42:29Speaker 5: our bodies need to push through something like we humans
- 42:32Speaker 5: can push through Oh yeah, big like huge challenges. We
- 42:35Speaker 5: know that, but I think that's just such a vivid example.
- 42:39Speaker 5: So thanks for sharing, Jacob. Like you have to push
- 42:41Speaker 5: like there's there's no one else, like you are the
- 42:43Speaker 5: glue holding this together. And it's like you pushed through
- 42:46Speaker 5: until it's like, once you realize I don't have to,
- 42:49Speaker 5: your body's like catching up.
- 42:50Speaker 4: It's like, yeah, okay.
- 42:52Speaker 6: Yeah, my brain is starting to hic up now more,
- 42:55Speaker 6: uh that it can very honestly, because I know once
- 42:58Speaker 6: this show is over, Uh, my day is over finally,
- 43:03Speaker 6: and I'm just gonna go.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Because we had that.
- 43:04Speaker 6: We had the safety cones over for Thank You Barbecue today.
- 43:07Speaker 6: You guys came over today and uh, now we're finishing
- 43:10Speaker 6: this up.
- 43:11Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, great, I'm I'm gonna finish this up.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:13Speaker 6: I have to do a little bit of work and
- 43:16Speaker 6: get ice cream social from yesterday edited and uh post
- 43:21Speaker 6: it up because that has to go out tomorrow.
- 43:23Speaker 1: But that'll take me, you know, ten minutes, not a
- 43:25Speaker 1: big deal. And then I'm just done finally. For like
- 43:31Speaker 1: three days, I was.
- 43:32Speaker 4: Just gonna say, when's the next thing?
- 43:33Speaker 6: You have to do something on Tuesday evening, but I
- 43:37Speaker 6: won't even run the show. I'll watch somebody else run
- 43:39Speaker 6: the show. I'll run a show on Wednesday. That'll be
- 43:43Speaker 6: the next time I really do something. Okay, yeah, yeah,
- 43:47Speaker 6: So I'm just gonna go, when's Wednesday is my first
- 43:49Speaker 6: real day back? We'll do an ice cream social that day,
- 43:51Speaker 6: and then I'll do do absinthe that day and your.
- 43:55Speaker 4: Schedule like that, Like.
- 43:59Speaker 6: I give myself a window, Yeah, I give myself a
- 44:02Speaker 6: bigger window at the front because I know that more
- 44:04Speaker 6: work is gonna pop up than I can think of.
- 44:06Speaker 4: Uh huh uh.
- 44:07Speaker 6: And then I give myself a few days on the
- 44:09Speaker 6: on the back end because I couldn't have gone back
- 44:12Speaker 6: to work today or something.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's a lot. It is definitely you need
- 44:17Speaker 1: a recovery day.
- 44:18Speaker 2: And my brain is starting to shut down right now.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Yeah, well on that point, we could take a quick
- 44:23Speaker 1: break and when we come back, we actually have a
- 44:25Speaker 1: question from somebody who just attended scoop Fest about something
- 44:28Speaker 1: that happened at scoop Fest.
- 44:30Speaker 4: Cool.
- 44:30Speaker 1: You are listening to pod Therapy. Today's episode was brought
- 44:34Speaker 1: to you by Jake Schneider, Leah Or Richard and Macy
- 44:37Speaker 1: Sonny Boyce, Falcon, Scoop Sip, Motherfucker, Sandra CKOs, Elena.
- 44:42Speaker 2: Guybriella, dom Adam Warren and be Gay, Be Crime.
- 44:45Speaker 1: And if you'd like to sponsor the show, become a
- 44:47Speaker 1: therapy sert Patreon dot com. The uh you want some
- 44:51Speaker 1: trivia or should we just push right through. Oh no, no,
- 44:54Speaker 1: do trivia. All right?
- 44:55Speaker 2: So sorry that that speech was not let's sorry the
- 44:58Speaker 2: show up. Oh no, I was thinking for all of us. Okay,
- 45:02Speaker 2: I'll be honest.
- 45:02Speaker 4: You're you're definitely the worst off of.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Us, Jacob, I wasn't listening. Don't change it for me? Okay, good? Whatever?
- 45:14Speaker 2: All right you do if you want skip skipping.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Uh, we'll just do a few here. Some strange and
- 45:21Speaker 1: unusual celebrations, festivals or.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Events fest very strange.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Every August.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Oh, let's start with Whitney. Yea, every August. The people
- 45:32Speaker 2: of a Spanish town of I think it's pronounced base.
- 45:39Speaker 1: I think that's it correct at each other during the
- 45:43Speaker 1: festival of laf only we speak Spanish. I think I
- 45:47Speaker 1: know this one.
- 45:50Speaker 4: Do I have options?
- 45:51Speaker 1: Do you need them?
- 45:55Speaker 2: Or can you spell?
- 46:00Speaker 1: Oh? That's it, that's you're going to correct.
- 46:03Speaker 4: You aren't saying it right now?
- 46:05Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 46:06Speaker 1: Come on? That does that change what the word is?
- 46:14Speaker 4: You looked like you need like, well, I don't think
- 46:16Speaker 4: you're saying the right word if you're looking at me like.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Early lead to two points well from the hip for
- 46:26Speaker 1: sweet all right, Jacob. The Mexican city of Oaka, which
- 46:31Speaker 1: I believe is how it's pronounced.
- 46:34Speaker 2: X A celebrates a festival each December featuring sculptures carved
- 46:41Speaker 2: from what vegetable?
- 46:42Speaker 1: Oh, in December, I'll give you my favorite vegetable. That
- 46:49Speaker 1: would be.
- 46:51Speaker 2: That's not a vegetable. Let's see, Oh does it.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Have seeds in it? No? Okay, but one of the
- 47:01Speaker 1: options does Oh funny, do you want options?
- 47:05Speaker 2: Tell me what that option is, because I'm not going
- 47:06Speaker 2: to take that one.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Pumpkins. I was thinking gords. Yeah, that's why I was like, oh, no,
- 47:11Speaker 1: gords have seeds. So I'll give you a one of three. Yeah,
- 47:15Speaker 1: I will No, I want to guess from the hip.
- 47:17Speaker 1: I'll guess broccoli. Oh would be cool, but no, okay,
- 47:23Speaker 1: would be cool. Passes the gym, and I will take
- 47:25Speaker 1: those options.
- 47:25Speaker 2: My man, potatoes, radishes, turn ups.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Geeze, dude, I mean I could see a pretty cool
- 47:33Speaker 3: carving contest that of potatoes.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I'm gonna go with potatoes, no, which are
- 47:41Speaker 1: basically potatoes.
- 47:43Speaker 3: I should get the point. I think Jacob and I
- 47:45Speaker 3: are an agreement. I was robbed, all right, Jim in
- 47:49Speaker 3: Loop Burry Thailand. I believe Burry l O p b
- 47:53Speaker 3: U r I Thailand th.
- 47:57Speaker 2: H A yeah yeah yeah, Jim.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Yeah yeah yeah.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Uh not America.
- 48:03Speaker 1: A lavish buffet is laid out every year for which
- 48:07Speaker 1: guests of honor. I'll take options. Elephants, monkeys, peacocks or dogs.
- 48:15Speaker 3: I'll bet it's elephants. That sounds adorable that they just
- 48:18Speaker 3: lay out food for elephants to come hang out. I
- 48:20Speaker 3: would fucking do that me. Elephants.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Yet, I definitely just know this one. Peacocks or dogs, monkeys.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Monkey, That's okay. That's the thing I was second hoping
- 48:35Speaker 1: it was.
- 48:36Speaker 5: You still don't get a point though, I'm winning, you
- 48:39Speaker 5: are winning.
- 48:40Speaker 1: You were having a day.
- 48:41Speaker 4: I'm doing it all right.
- 48:42Speaker 3: So we have a semi serious question about scoop Fest
- 48:47Speaker 3: and depression. So the writer who is anonymous says, first
- 48:51Speaker 3: and foremost, it was great to meet Nick and Whitney
- 48:54Speaker 3: for the first time at scoop Fest, and Jacob for
- 48:56Speaker 3: the second time. Hell I even chatted with Peter for
- 48:59Speaker 3: a few minutes, and it was great.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Moving on. Nobody else said that, yeah, you're alone there.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Moving on. All was going well.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Night three of Scoopfest, SJ and the Ruckus were rocking out.
- 49:11Speaker 3: We were all having fun. Then I looked towards the
- 49:14Speaker 3: front and I reached for my phone and I think, oh, no,
- 49:17Speaker 3: Jim's having a seizure. I should call for help. Then
- 49:20Speaker 3: I realize, actually, Jim is trying to dance.
- 49:22Speaker 4: Ah.
- 49:23Speaker 1: That's when it hit. My mood shifted from fun to
- 49:27Speaker 1: maybe nobody likes me. I tried to stick it out
- 49:30Speaker 1: for a while, but I eventually needed to step out.
- 49:33Speaker 1: By the time midnight hit, I didn't want to be
- 49:34Speaker 1: around people anymore. I excused myself back to my room.
- 49:37Speaker 1: I tried to snap myself out of it, but I couldn't.
- 49:39Speaker 1: By the time I woke up the next morning, everything
- 49:41Speaker 1: was fine. It was all gone.
- 49:42Speaker 3: But now I had missed out on a fun night
- 49:44Speaker 3: at McMullen's all because my dirty depression kicked in. I'm
- 49:48Speaker 3: mostly managed with medication, but I'm looking for tips to
- 49:51Speaker 3: help drag me out of this, even just a little,
- 49:54Speaker 3: so I don't miss the good times. And then there's
- 49:57Speaker 3: a side note that I don't have to read on air.
- 49:59Speaker 3: Fuck it I will Jim's dancing did not actually cause this,
- 50:02Speaker 3: but it was got awful.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Thanks Anonymous.
- 50:07Speaker 4: I loved it.
- 50:08Speaker 3: It didn't help, you know, Okay, I want to defend
- 50:11Speaker 3: my dance if I may.
- 50:13Speaker 1: First off, well, I also went into a funk.
- 50:16Speaker 4: Okay, okay, this is okay.
- 50:22Speaker 1: I understand the assignment.
- 50:24Speaker 3: So like when artists get going, it's like, hey, somebody's
- 50:28Speaker 3: got to lead the charge.
- 50:31Speaker 1: The guy who starts to dance at Yeah, so I
- 50:34Speaker 1: feel like you're one of the podcasters here. This is
- 50:37Speaker 1: your friend's wife. They're here to have good time.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Everybody's in the beginning, they're always like really bricky and
- 50:42Speaker 3: like nobody wants to come over there in the dance floor.
- 50:45Speaker 3: So I'll get out there and just have a great time,
- 50:47Speaker 3: and then people start to kind of hang out with me,
- 50:49Speaker 3: and then eventually you've got this critical mass of like
- 50:51Speaker 3: there's five or six people.
- 50:54Speaker 4: Dance.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:55Speaker 3: Actually that was Thirsty Scoop. Thirsty Scooping started that train,
- 50:58Speaker 3: but I joined the train. I was the very first
- 51:00Speaker 3: that I was an early investor.
- 51:02Speaker 1: And floor Gym is in yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, two
- 51:10Speaker 1: people became a train. Yeah that's right. Yeah, Thirsty was
- 51:13Speaker 1: an engine. I think.
- 51:13Speaker 3: I think that's but it goes nowhere. If people aren't
- 51:16Speaker 3: somebody's gonna pull that train. Somebody's got to be there.
- 51:19Speaker 3: So we ran a train on Thirsty Scoop. It was
- 51:21Speaker 3: a good time. But yeah, definitely I want to defend
- 51:24Speaker 3: my dancing here. Thank you for also pointing out in
- 51:26Speaker 3: your letter that technically my dancing wasn't the cause of
- 51:28Speaker 3: your depression.
- 51:29Speaker 1: That's good to know. Again, didn't think about that first. Yeah,
- 51:32Speaker 1: but this is a relatable question I did. On that
- 51:34Speaker 1: note before we moved back to the letter. I texted
- 51:37Speaker 1: Gym last night. Actually, I was like, good job, you
- 51:40Speaker 1: did good. Everything was great. It truly was. He gets
- 51:45Speaker 1: up and dances.
- 51:46Speaker 6: He is a he is an energy machine up there
- 51:48Speaker 6: on the floor, and that is always good to have.
- 51:51Speaker 4: Thanks.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Yeah, until he overfills the bucket away, Yeah, until on
- 51:59Speaker 1: the floor opened again. Last night, fucking Whitney. All of
- 52:03Speaker 1: a sudden, Jim comes bursting in. You fucking invite me
- 52:07Speaker 1: to your wedding. I swallowed that hook so fast.
- 52:16Speaker 5: Joe comes up to go, oh my god, Whitny, you're
- 52:18Speaker 5: invited to next wedding, and I was like, yeah, you aren't.
- 52:21Speaker 5: And then I look behind him. I'm like I'm not
- 52:23Speaker 5: to all the scooms behind him and Jim did not.
- 52:25Speaker 3: See me gotten me going on this, because they were like, oh,
- 52:29Speaker 3: when's uh, when's nixt wedding?
- 52:30Speaker 1: Blab blah blah.
- 52:30Speaker 3: It's like, oh, I don't think it's planned yet, and
- 52:32Speaker 3: they were like, that's so weird. Whitney's saying that she's
- 52:33Speaker 3: invited and like it.
- 52:34Speaker 1: And so they just handed me up to her, and
- 52:37Speaker 1: so I like stomp across the fucking patio to Whitney
- 52:40Speaker 1: and like, are you invited in next wedding?
- 52:42Speaker 3: Which I wouldn't have this kind of fucking trauma reaction
- 52:44Speaker 3: except that the ship happened with the proposal that she
- 52:47Speaker 3: was involved and I wasn't involved, and I haven't recovered
- 52:50Speaker 3: from that.
- 52:50Speaker 4: I basically picked out Laura's wedding.
- 52:52Speaker 1: I'm just.
- 52:54Speaker 3: So like when he's like, didn't miss a beat, She's like, yeah,
- 52:57Speaker 3: of course, sorry, you know you're not.
- 53:00Speaker 4: And I was like, you didn't get the invite?
- 53:02Speaker 1: Are you?
- 53:03Speaker 2: Are you still set to uh to stand in for
- 53:05Speaker 2: Laura at the rehearsal?
- 53:06Speaker 5: Yeah, that's right, go, I don't want to know.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Don't make me officiated. No.
- 53:15Speaker 6: By the way, I do love officiating weddings, So you
- 53:18Speaker 6: just said them all.
- 53:19Speaker 1: I will, honestly, I have a good time with Hi'm done. No,
- 53:22Speaker 1: But Whitney knew exactly what was happening, and then I
- 53:24Speaker 1: had to explain to.
- 53:25Speaker 4: Like I was going to try text Nick.
- 53:26Speaker 5: I was like, hurry, you don't play along with this,
- 53:28Speaker 5: and he goes, I'm not playing a lot.
- 53:31Speaker 2: I was like, this is this is not Jim's problem.
- 53:34Speaker 5: You're not You're not creating, Like, this's not it's my problem,
- 53:38Speaker 5: Like that, you're right.
- 53:40Speaker 4: I hate that you're right.
- 53:41Speaker 1: This is why people like why is Nick never supporting
- 53:43Speaker 1: the bits where we deceived him and whip him up
- 53:45Speaker 1: into a frenzy?
- 53:46Speaker 3: Right, I have to chase the dog down when you
- 53:49Speaker 3: guys let him out the door, because nobody.
- 53:52Speaker 5: Sees the behind the scenes that truly are just Jim
- 53:55Speaker 5: And next text nobody knows.
- 53:56Speaker 4: I don't even know. We're not that good.
- 53:59Speaker 1: It's just me. It's walls of thoughts.
- 54:04Speaker 3: And then he writes back with like, yes, that's fine.
- 54:07Speaker 3: Also you did this. I support you. But yes to
- 54:12Speaker 3: the writer, Yeah, I've only been around for about twenty
- 54:14Speaker 3: percent of those I'm not around for most.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Of them, you know what I mean?
- 54:18Speaker 4: Okay, that was the question.
- 54:20Speaker 3: It's a relatable question though, like, yes, it is suddenly
- 54:23Speaker 3: going into a funk.
- 54:23Speaker 6: I want to say it is like, don't feel bad
- 54:26Speaker 6: about it, right, but now it's now it's happened.
- 54:29Speaker 2: Don't sweat it now.
- 54:30Speaker 1: Right, Let's let's work on the issue that you wanted
- 54:33Speaker 1: to work on, but also let's not confuse the issue
- 54:36Speaker 1: even more so by like getting into a funk about
- 54:40Speaker 1: being regretful about about missing stuff. But I can relate
- 54:44Speaker 1: to this one hundred percent because it was the this
- 54:47Speaker 1: was me the first scoop fest I ever went to.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Oh really before we've even had a podcast.
- 54:54Speaker 1: Oh, the very first scoop fest you've attended. It is
- 54:57Speaker 1: just a yeah scoop Okay, yeah, because I Jacob wouldn't
- 55:00Speaker 1: even know I was there. This is probably news to
- 55:03Speaker 1: Jacob that I was in this because I was definitely
- 55:07Speaker 1: anybody else that was there.
- 55:08Speaker 4: Either, what was your costume?
- 55:11Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 55:12Speaker 2: I wasn't even there for that. Like I was definitely
- 55:15Speaker 2: a wallflower.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Okay. I stayed in the back, I didn't, you know,
- 55:18Speaker 1: And I was very quiet. And then I kind of
- 55:20Speaker 1: felt like I was frustrated with myself, like I wish
- 55:24Speaker 1: I had push myself. I wish I'd gone out there
- 55:26Speaker 1: a little bit further and really.
- 55:27Speaker 4: Garrel so receptive.
- 55:29Speaker 5: If you do if you just walk up into a
- 55:30Speaker 5: circle like, oh yeah, get make the circle bigger and clear,
- 55:33Speaker 5: like it's it's amazing.
- 55:34Speaker 4: But you don't know this the most.
- 55:36Speaker 1: You don't know. You don't know it, and it's hard.
- 55:38Speaker 6: It's hard to do it that first time. It's stepping
- 55:41Speaker 6: off the cliff, Yeah, onto the what was it? I
- 55:44Speaker 6: was Indiana Jones, one of the Indian Jones movies. You'd like,
- 55:47Speaker 6: step off the cliff and then there was a bridge
- 55:49Speaker 6: that was colored.
- 55:52Speaker 1: For the holy Grail. Yeah, that's the only grail he
- 55:54Speaker 1: had to take the Yeah, that's right.
- 55:56Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean it is like that, like once you're
- 55:57Speaker 6: on it, you're go, oh great, I'm on a bridge.
- 56:00Speaker 1: And it's fine. My feedback to the writer is, I
- 56:03Speaker 1: think that now you've got something to look forward to
- 56:06Speaker 1: for the next one, right, because then the next one
- 56:09Speaker 1: you feel a little bit more comfortable and you know
- 56:11Speaker 1: more people there, right, and then you can just kind
- 56:13Speaker 1: of like it feels it just to me at this point,
- 56:17Speaker 1: it feels like just going to a family reunion, right, Yeah,
- 56:20Speaker 1: you know, it's just like, oh, I get to see
- 56:22Speaker 1: all my cousins and everything I don't get to see
- 56:24Speaker 1: very often, and so it just feels more and more
- 56:26Speaker 1: comfortable every time, right, And so yeah, I agree with Jacob.
- 56:30Speaker 1: You know, do your best not to it's kind of uncontrollable,
- 56:33Speaker 1: but you know, don't beat yourself up.
- 56:35Speaker 3: It's a very relatable experience, I know for me because
- 56:38Speaker 3: we joke about it. But like the cup thing is
- 56:40Speaker 3: absolutely true, or the bucket thing that you've come up with,
- 56:42Speaker 3: which is fuck you for saying it.
- 56:44Speaker 2: Not to smackurate.
- 56:45Speaker 3: It's called yeah exactly, it's not exactly a bucket Dixie cup.
- 56:49Speaker 3: But like you no, like my anxiety will kick in,
- 56:52Speaker 3: and it's tough because like there's like performance Jim who
- 56:55Speaker 3: can be running around doing his thing and kind of
- 56:57Speaker 3: like entertain or put out good energy, but like that
- 57:00Speaker 3: comes at a cost, and like at some point that
- 57:02Speaker 3: battery hits zero, and when that happens, I become very vulnerable.
- 57:07Speaker 3: And like, this is something I said in the confessional
- 57:09Speaker 3: booth for the documentary, which I don't know if they'll
- 57:12Speaker 3: end up showing you guys all the things, but one
- 57:13Speaker 3: of the things that I had said.
- 57:14Speaker 1: I would hope.
- 57:15Speaker 3: So I hope so because I hope that at a minimum,
- 57:17Speaker 3: you get to hear all the nice things people.
- 57:19Speaker 2: I mean, I kind of assume that they'll just se price.
- 57:22Speaker 3: But no, one of the things that I thought about
- 57:24Speaker 3: and I wanted to say that I did say in
- 57:26Speaker 3: the recording was I think ICs is very special in
- 57:29Speaker 3: the world because I think that they are brave, and
- 57:32Speaker 3: I kind of conflate that with comedy. I think comedy
- 57:34Speaker 3: is brave. It's hard to do. True, it is hard
- 57:37Speaker 3: to do. And like even whenever I teach at U
- 57:39Speaker 3: and LV, like I tell my students, like I'm going
- 57:41Speaker 3: to try sometimes in this class to be silly and
- 57:43Speaker 3: to make jokes. Not just because I want this class
- 57:46Speaker 3: to be fun for you, I want to show you
- 57:48Speaker 3: that you can be a therapist. Then you can be
- 57:50Speaker 3: brave and be comedic and you'll kind of fuck up,
- 57:52Speaker 3: but like it actually humor is a really important human
- 57:55Speaker 3: trait and like it really does help with therapy. And
- 57:58Speaker 3: like I said that in the confessional too, is just
- 57:59Speaker 3: like that's one of the things I think I say
- 58:01Speaker 3: it so special about. It's not just that they are
- 58:02Speaker 3: funny peoples, that they're funny in this brave and inclusive way.
- 58:06Speaker 3: Like if you're sitting alone at the lunch table of life,
- 58:08Speaker 3: you've got these group of guys that are in their
- 58:10Speaker 3: own little world having a great time, and there's open
- 58:12Speaker 3: seats at their table, and they're welcoming you to it,
- 58:14Speaker 3: and they don't give a fuck who's popular, who's cool
- 58:15Speaker 3: in this this high school. You can just come join
- 58:17Speaker 3: them and all of a sudden you're included and you
- 58:19Speaker 3: found your people. And like that's a special thing that
- 58:21Speaker 3: I think that ice Cream Social does. But like to
- 58:24Speaker 3: bring that full circle to what this writer is saying
- 58:26Speaker 3: for me doing that, bringing energy, being funny, trying to
- 58:30Speaker 3: be playful, and then you get your balls kicked in
- 58:32Speaker 3: by one of your co hosts or like you know,
- 58:33Speaker 3: there's a bit or somebody you know steps on your toe,
- 58:35Speaker 3: or they don't realize you're actually your batteries at very
- 58:37Speaker 3: low right there, Like your shields are pretty low. I'll
- 58:40Speaker 3: have these anxiety moments, and that happens every scoop fest
- 58:43Speaker 3: for me, Yeah, where I will have those moments.
- 58:44Speaker 1: I watched you across the table. You can when justin
- 58:47Speaker 1: clotheslined you.
- 58:48Speaker 6: Yeah, And that's why, like I was quick to jump
- 58:53Speaker 6: on just at that, Yeah, because I knew I could.
- 58:55Speaker 6: I knew I could just stop that right there, right
- 59:00Speaker 6: and to keep the bit going and keep it funny.
- 59:02Speaker 6: And then the guys jump in because they're because it's
- 59:05Speaker 6: the timing of it and that's also what you're supposed
- 59:07Speaker 6: to do anyway, and.
- 59:09Speaker 1: So like, but yeah, I definitely saw it.
- 59:12Speaker 2: Like that, Jim's out of this table right now and
- 59:18Speaker 2: go to the bathroom and hide.
- 59:19Speaker 6: Yeah that Justin, like, you know, if it if it's
- 59:22Speaker 6: a boxing analogy, it's not that Justin threw this you know, big,
- 59:26Speaker 6: you know, sweeping white right hand punch.
- 59:29Speaker 2: It's that he didn't realize that Jim had.
- 59:31Speaker 1: A last jaw. Yeah, he a little jab and Jim went,
- 59:35Speaker 1: oh no, Yeah.
- 59:38Speaker 3: So I relate to the writer and I feel like
- 59:39Speaker 3: I'm teasing Justin too much. I took it and stride
- 59:41Speaker 3: but everything was fine.
- 59:42Speaker 1: No, it's all fun. We're all fun, all perfectly good.
- 59:44Speaker 1: But no, like yeah, yeah, good, thank you, thank you
- 59:48Speaker 1: for that.
- 59:48Speaker 4: Does here we go?
- 59:52Speaker 3: No, But like I totally relate to the writer because
- 59:55Speaker 3: like I've I had tons of little moments at Scoop
- 59:57Speaker 3: Fast and this always happens to me where I'm I
- 59:59Speaker 3: get so pumped up, I'm so excited to go.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: It's golden Truver energy. And then I get there and
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: I start spending that energy and the shields kind of
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: go down. And then I'll have a small interaction with
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: somebody where just the slightest thing, like what happened to
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: the writer suddenly triggers me and I'm like, oh, oh, no,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: I did I do something wrong? If I if I
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: upset somebody? Is there are people saying something about me
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: right now that did I overstep? Was that not funny? Like?
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: And then I'll suddenly like want to run away, and
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: so like I really relate to what the writer's talking
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: about because I have one hundred percent done that that
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: fucking happened. At the third day, you guys were trying
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: to get me to go to lunch, and you guys
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: were like, hey, man, come with us, and I was
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: like no, and you're like are you okay?
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Like yep, just sulking in my car for a while,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Like you guys, really you should come with us. But
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: I was like no, I need to just fucking rehab
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: for a while.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: But like this, I get it, and like I missed
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: out on lunch and so like I can or I
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: missed out on other activities because I have to go
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: hide for a while and like recharge the battery and
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: just kind of get right sized again. So I really
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: relate to the writer, and I guess, writer.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: What I would tell you is what do you do
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: to write? So, like what did you do in your car?
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: It's about, Yeah, I furiously masturbate, which really helps. Yeah,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I know, I know. Well I'm also in the valet also,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: and so feel free to tempt the windshield.
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: I know it's illy, I know, but if valet you
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: just explain to that, you know, and.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Then I don't want to tip him because I'm gonna
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: give it right back, you know. It is like I'm
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: just It's like you can drive away, sir. I'm like,
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: I just need a few minutes, you know much, just
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: you know, turn on Metallica, crank it to the loudest
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: setting and fucking go. No for me like that, I
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: think my goal in life is never going to be
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: to completely eliminate the experience of anxiety from my brain.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: And when you live with a chronic condition, it's really
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: about how much victory can you have? And like for me,
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: that I attend the majority of the thing that I
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: I keep, I'll run away, I'll retreat, I'll recharge and
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: I'll pop back in.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: That's a victory for me. Also, that's help. So many
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: people do that, right, Like this is a just us.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: I mean I talked to a lot of scoops and there,
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: you know, they'll take like I don't. I gotta get
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: back up to my room for a little bit, right,
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: rest for a little bit. I'm just gonna kind of.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Very normally. I do this at scoop Fest. We do.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: We definitely do well. Yeah, and you guys have to.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: We have to duck out for for just moments here
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: and there.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, even if it's like I got to
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: deal with something else or like deal with a or whatever.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: But like, yeah, yeah, I mean at the bucket show,
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: I didn't watch the Bucket Show. I was either on
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: stage or out in the lobby doing other stuff.
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: Yeah, that's that's that. Those were my two places on stage,
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: furiously masturbating in the lobby.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Yeah, Jim's car that was not there was some blueberry
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: but that was not shot.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Yeah, you should get checked. No, I put it there.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: I'm concerned. I'm doing a game that I call Cookie
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: blue Bear, and you know what, I'm winning, winning this
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: game of life.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: No, I did think that the first bucket showed Jacob.
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: When I showed up downtown, I was like kind of
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: peeking in just to see because I didn't it was
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: a little bit over the hours. I wasn't sure what
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: was going on, so I peaked him, but I recognized
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: your hair, and so I kind of opened the doors, like, oh,
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: we're Jacob, just like chills at the back. But I
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: also thought, this seems right, like just to step away,
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: collect your.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Thoughts, emails, the sand.
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: That's kicking off scoop fast.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I was dealing with with other issues that were.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: Also popping up multitask.
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: Yeah, there were a lot of things this year that
- 1:03:37Speaker 6: I we'll cover ot on ice cream, social and stuff too,
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: I'm sure, but there were a lot of things this
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: year that just like almost blew up at the last second.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: Yeah, to listen, missus, But no, on this person's point,
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: we're all relating. I think that we're all relating in
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: our own ways. And for me at least right or
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: my saying my piece on it is just I get
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: that discouragement. There's been so many times where like I've
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: left scoop Fest, then I'll come back and Nick will
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: be like in tears laughing, from a bit like a
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: variety show bit or something, and I'll have to ask, like,
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: oh fuck, what did I miss right? And then I
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: have to like look it up online if it's available
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: and stuff like that. I have to recap it, and
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I'll be frustrated with myself, so like, damn it, Like
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: I really wish I didn't need to run away, But
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: then I kind of have forgiven myself for that, and
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: I try to reframe it now, and I say, no,
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: running away and taking twenty minutes bought you the other
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: four hours. You know, it bought you these other things.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: And writer, maybe that's kind of how you should look
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: at this. Is like you were enjoying us Jay and
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: the Ruckus, you were enjoying the show. You were tolerating
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: my dancing. After you were convinced I wasn't having a
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: medical emergency, and you suddenly had a flash of depression,
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: and you know what, you had to respond to that,
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: and it just it kind of is what it is,
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: kind of like you just got a bloody nose. It's
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: always inconvenient. It may take you out of this for
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: a while. It's shitty, it's frustrating, but just I think
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: my encouragement to you is reframe that as you know what.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: I got so much out of this and I had
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: to pay for it with like this, you know, burst
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: of depression. Overall, my life's better, like I'm in good balance.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: What about talking to someone in the moment? What about
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: talking to a friend I don't know how talking to Nick,
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: That's what I usually do.
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: I was wondering that too, because that's a little bit.
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: I was like, Jim, just come to lunch with us,
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: like you can debrief for a minute. Might feel better
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: getting it out of our heads, because I feel like
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: when I'm in those moments, if I'm too much in
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: my head, it doesn't always help. It might help eventually,
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: but it's like we can spiral as humans.
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: Yeah, sometimes you just need somebody to go out now,
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: like ground up, shut up, come on, We're doing it.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: It's fine, and maybe you still need some time.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: Brand of anxiety, and I have many in my cabinet.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: I have many types of anxieties, but one brand I
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: have is a fear of like upsetting others or like
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: doing something awkward, which I know is hilarious because I
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: do it on purpose, but like like this thing of
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: like I have burdened somebody or I've been off putting,
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: and like I am haunted. I'm haunted by every conversation
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: I've had. Like remember weeks ago, we had one where
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: somebody said, you know, do you ever shout something?
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: And I said, I shout fuck the police. And I
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: do that quite a bit.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: Yeah, And part of that is like the symbolism of
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: like the police care about what you did right or wrong,
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: and like you didn't do anything wrong, Jim fucked the police.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: You didn't bother this person, you didn't do anything off.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: But then I'll think, oh, fuck I said something awkward
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: or something word and then whenever you have friends that
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: reach out to you'd be like, bro, we'll talk to you.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: I don't want to tell you guys either, because I'm like, no,
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: then I'm gonna be off putting in weird like because
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: I'm gonna tell you like oh, in my head.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: About this, we're like, fuck, I gotta do with this
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: over lunch. Like I don't want that for you either,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: So I just want to sell you obtain my little bullshit.
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: But that's exactly right, because you have to be in
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: a mental place to be able to accept the help
- 1:06:40Speaker 6: as well.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: That's a good point.
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: Yeah, Yeah, Sometimes you have to be in a place
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: you either have to I mean one of the two parties,
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: he either has one of the two parties has to
- 1:06:49Speaker 6: have the energy.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Like it's right there.
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: It is going to cost you're in you're in a funk,
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: you're in a in a depression spiral. It is going
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: to cost some energy to get you out of that
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: depression spiral. And either you have to supply that energy
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: or your friend has to supply that energy, right, and
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: so like if you have a close friend there that
- 1:07:06Speaker 6: that understands kind of what's going on and can supply
- 1:07:08Speaker 6: that energy for you, they can sometimes just grab you
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: and say like no, no, you're not leaving. You're gonna be
- 1:07:14Speaker 6: mad later if you leave right, go to the bathroom,
- 1:07:17Speaker 6: throw some cold water in your face, take a ship, come.
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: Back in here. I'm gonna get you a drink. I'm
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: gonna wait for you at the door.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Don't try to fucking leave. Yeah, sit, it's gonna.
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: Be fun and the like.
- 1:07:30Speaker 6: And then ten minutes later, if you have that friend
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: who is who's doing that work for you, then like
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: that can sometimes pop you out of it. Sometimes you
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: have to do it yourself, like it is all those
- 1:07:40Speaker 6: different things. But you're right, you have to do you
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: have to be accepting of it.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: That's a good point. And sometimes I know that it's
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: okay to run away, and I think in the writer's
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: Nothing you're doing down there, they don't have that sport.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Right, yeah, exactly.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: And sometimes you just don't want to burn anybody else
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: because like my car needs a jump start, I don't
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: want to make you have to do that, right, Like I'd.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Rather call exactly. I feel better if I can handle
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: this on my own.
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: So yeah, it's really not handling and calling for everything.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: And I do want to let you know it's it's
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: not a big burden for me. It's at this point
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: that it's like it's like asking Elton John to play
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: chop sticks, Like it's not I got this down. Yeah,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: it's I know what to do. Yeah, when goes running
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: down the street, I just go get some bacon.
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: Yes, one of my super Bowl predictions is officially crashed.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: Down, officially wrong. The super Bowl halftime show has been announced.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: Oh that's right. They were going to announce that it
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: is not t Swift, Oh.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: It is mister bad Bunny.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: Oh okay. Interesting that's very interesting.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: He canceled all his American UH travel and tours because
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: of ice raids.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: He didn't he didn't want to.
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: I believe, I believe all of that's been smoothed over now.
- 1:08:58Speaker 6: Yeah he's back. It seems like all of those types
- 1:09:02Speaker 6: of issues. Yeah, they have just all been fixed. And
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: everybody's happy. Everything's happy.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Last I saw them, they were all singing, right, Oh, wonderful, Yeah, wonderful.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: It sounded kind of like a dirge and yeah something,
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: but either way, they were singing.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: Yeah, singing's good, wonderful. Well, anyway, writer, this is it's
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: a very relatable question. I'm really glad you wrote in
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: with it. And you know what, if you take that time,
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: I know it's a bummer. And look, I missed out
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: on a ton of things and that happens, and I'm like, ah, fuck,
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: I wish I hadn't done that. But we live with
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: chronic mental illnesses, and so it's about finding the winds
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: where we can find the winds and learning how to,
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: you know, take care of ourselves. And for you, that
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: meant you needed to go just sleep it off and
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: have a full reboot. And sometimes that's the thing. And
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: if you had decided, you know what, I'm just gonna
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: I'm gonna white knuckle through this thing, and I'm gonna
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: talk to a friend and try another method, see if
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: I can salvage the night. That would have been an
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: option to Yeah, And there's been times when I've done that,
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: when I thought I'm gonna run away, and then I'm like, Nope,
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: I'm gonna lean in and just hang out and have
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: a good time and just shrug it off. And sometimes
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: you get lucky. So you know, it kind of goes
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: both ways. But I agree with Jacob's very first point though.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: We don't want you to absorb any shame or guilty, No,
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: that would be shitty. Like we just live with these conditions, brother,
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: And now it's now, it's in the past, right, and
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: now we learn from it. Now we and now we
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: work on it.
- 1:10:11Speaker 6: And and I'm gonna say this, and I mean only
- 1:10:14Speaker 6: from your point of view, We're gonna do better next time, right,
- 1:10:17Speaker 6: because you're not doing you're not doing.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: Bad by anybody else, So you're gonna you're gonna get
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: better at it yourself.
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: Yes, you know, like I'm I'm sorry that I didn't
- 1:10:26Speaker 6: get to hang out with you. More if you were,
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: if you were going upstairs.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: And I don't know who you are, obviously you're anonymous,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: but uh, you know, I'm sorry that I didn't didn't
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: get to hang out with you more because you were
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: you were feeling those feelings, and uh, you know that
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: that sucks. I'm sorry, but I'm not upset with you
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: about it, right, you know, I want you to be
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: happy and healthy and cool, and if that, if that
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: means taking a little break, cool, I'm good with that.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: Whatever you need to do, man, do your thing.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: I wrote this letter, and I accept your apologies. Okay, good,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: thank you. Yeah, talking about that.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: We are going to take a quick break and when
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: we come back, we're going to talk about autism.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: You're listening to pod therapy. Today's episode is brought to
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: you by Jake Schneider, Maleiah, Richard Macon, Sonny Boy, thunder Truper,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: Malcolm Scoop, soa motherfucker, Sanderman, Gabriella Darmit, Adam Warren, and
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: he Ga crime h. If you want to sign up
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: for the stuff and do the thing.
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: So I saw this quote the other day after you know,
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: Trump came out and said that it's tail and all
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: that's causing all the autism and somebody it was a
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: great tweet, but it was something to the effect of,
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: are we really going to accept and believe that there
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: was a pattern between taking this medicine and developing autism
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: and the autistic people never caught it?
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Like, right, what they catch fucking patterns? There's zero present?
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: Did you catch Were you guys there for Penn Sunday School? Yes?
- 1:11:48Speaker 6: Yeah, yes, he Ready Richard and the director of Pence
- 1:11:52Speaker 6: Sunday School. Yes, is autistic. Yeah, he is on the
- 1:11:56Speaker 6: spectrum and uh. Penn brought up the tilt all thing
- 1:12:00Speaker 6: to Ready. Ready's comment was, yeah, yeah, my mom just
- 1:12:03Speaker 6: quit something like that.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: So it knocked me out a bunch of That was
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: a really good episode.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: They also kind of talked, you know, Penn talked a
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: lot about the decrease in tourism. Yeah, yeah, that was well.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: It was such a good.
- 1:12:18Speaker 6: Because Matt and I laughed about it about that Penn
- 1:12:20Speaker 6: Sunday School coming up a couple of weeks ago, because
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: we were like, Matt was like, it's gonna be Penn's
- 1:12:25Speaker 6: first episode back in the country because they've been out
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: of the country touring Pen Teller.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: He's like that. That's gonna be his first episode back
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: in the country in like a month. Wow.
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: So they haven't been doing episodes this last three weeks,
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: maybe three weeks, but however long it is, and all
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: this ship's been happening.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and so like nothing.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: This it's it's probably good that it's gonna be.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: At Scoop fast because I will keep this from going too.
- 1:12:49Speaker 6: Far down the hellscape.
- 1:12:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: Well, speaking of healthscapes, Seria trivia, here we.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: Go, Whitney during el call it cool colacho c O
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: L A c h okay.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: In Spain, men.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: Dressed as devils leap over what to symbolize cleansing of
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: sins butter? Oh yeah, it's always butter. Colato, gelato over gelato.
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: They're dressed as devils and they jump over something symbolized
- 1:13:25Speaker 5: the sins.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: Cool fire thing.
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: That's volcanoes, but that's really going to do.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: Spaghetti open fires.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: Oh, sleeping babies also stiles of flowers or buckets of water.
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: I mean it's got to be.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: Baby, please, baby, please be sleeping babies.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: Come on, it is.
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: Not open Yeah, babies, babies.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: Sleeping babies is the answer. Yes, Sometimes life gives you dream.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Of you can finally be happy.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: Yes, everything, and they knock.
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: Those babies out.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Those babies are going sleep. Wow, Jacob.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: The town of Olo, Finland, oh U l U hosts
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: a world championship for which instrument?
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: Oh instrument?
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: There's no hints in that.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: I feel like you're gonna want options.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: Is it one of those? Is one of those huge
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: horns there?
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: It is? It is huge horn an option.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: I believe you're thinking, uh, Switzerland.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: I believe I am. Yes, Uh. Here are your options
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: invisible drums, air guitar, lip trumpets there it is, or kazoo.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: Now, lip trumpets is definitely just blow jops. That's all
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: you're doing. You're just here's gaming, fellatio.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Give me, give me the th give me the fondles
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: the bottom of the trumpets.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: Drums, air guitar, lip trumpets, or kazoo.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: Sounds. I mean, the bad thing is the question. Trumpet
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: is definitely my name.
- 1:15:21Speaker 6: The bad thing is ever get away from Dixie switched?
- 1:15:31Speaker 6: The either good or bad thing about this my answer
- 1:15:36Speaker 6: is going to be air guitar. And the good or
- 1:15:39Speaker 6: bad thing about this is I went to high school
- 1:15:43Speaker 6: with a guy who was the world air guitar champion
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: for several years. I don't know if he ever went
- 1:15:51Speaker 6: to Finland to do it. This is my problem. But
- 1:15:54Speaker 6: he was like touring around the world doing air guitar.
- 1:15:59Speaker 4: What are we living?
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: I have not follow up questions.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: Yeah, first of all, right, did he play guitar for real?
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: I think he.
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: I think he does because I kind of wonder if
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: that's a benefit. I don't think there's any I don't.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: I don't think there's any benefit to a better guitar
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: player if you don't play.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: No.
- 1:16:25Speaker 6: I think if you just watch Montley Crewe videos and
- 1:16:28Speaker 6: learn how to play air guitar by watching Motley Crew videos,
- 1:16:32Speaker 6: I think that's where you want to base.
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that makes sense. My buddy's name is Adam Wilson.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: We went to high school together, and he would often
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: dress up similarly to Randy the Macho Man Savage to
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: play guitar. Or he would just go out like pants less,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: just in a pair of briefs's and play air guitar overalls.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: All kinds of things. The man understands. It's about the present.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: We're from the same small town in Louisiana. Yes, and yeah,
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: a certain sentiments, that's right. He got out. He made
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: it all right, right, Jim held annually and I'm gonna
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: guess sunken jar JARV sunken Jarvi Finland. Yeah, the winners
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: prize traditionally equals the wife's weight in what so okay,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: I don't know what the It sounds like there's a contest.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: It's the wife.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Carrying world championship.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Oh that's great, okay, So if you can carry your wife,
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: the prize is the wife's.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: Weight weight what Okay? So this incentivizes.
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: Because there's going to be a reward, so it's worth
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: whateveration she's going.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: To go through.
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: This is where butter comes in.
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, if you won, you get the wife's weight.
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: I mean it can't be gold because that's insane. Precious
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: metals give me options.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: I'm not going to get it silver coins, cheese, beer,
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: or cr So the question is this has to be
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: good for the wife or she's not going to fucking
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: do this. So we're not going to be beer. Okay.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: I know they've got cheese for days. I'll bet you
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: they can do chocolate. I could see chicks being like, fuck,
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: I really want that chocolate, and chocolate has staying power.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: Whereas the cheese I think doesn't. Let's go chocolate. No,
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: God damn it, cheese. No, oh, sleeping babies. I think beer.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: It is beer, right, yeah, person.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: My assumption is there is just a large scale somewhere
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: in the town square, and the woman sits on one
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: side and similar to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Okay, yeah,
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: the woman sits on one side of.
- 1:18:40Speaker 6: It and there's just a tub and they just come
- 1:18:42Speaker 6: over there and fill that thing with beer until the
- 1:18:44Speaker 6: scale balances out.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it's got to be.
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: If that's not how they do it, I'm gonna be
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: upset and the challenging party. You have to drink it
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: all there, yees, just one person.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: Nobody leaves until she drinks that contained. It's just the
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: giant wooden barrel of beer.
- 1:18:57Speaker 6: I'm picturing more of like one of those core Gate
- 1:19:00Speaker 6: did steel dog tubs.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: Oh yes, yes, and this is you just belly up right. Okay,
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: So I'm winning.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: I think is as sure autism news and self worth.
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: Hey guys, the family watched a bunch of embarrassing autism
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: press conference from the dipshit in chief and the environmental
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: lawyer with no medical expertise and we turned it off
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: when RFK Junior talked about reversal of autism looking good.
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: The moment really hurt my sense of self worth and
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: made me feel dehumanized. I'm an adult with autism. I've
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: held a job at the same company for eighteen plus years,
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: with the eight most recent years of that career as
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: a manager. I'm also a father of four. Three of
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: those children have autism, each at various degrees of independence.
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: The oldest of them works a job at an assisted
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: living facility and manages her own finances. She struggles socially
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: and doubts her own abilities, but she's doing very well
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: for herself. The next one graduated from high school with honors.
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: She's attending college the dean's list two consecutive semesters joined
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: a coven AKAA sorority and served as a chair in
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: the organization.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: See you built up my hope there.
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: I thought this like a coven that I was like.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: I was very.
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: Excited, and she's going to graduate a semester early. The
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: youngest is barely verbal, very dependent, and may never hold
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: a job or live on his own. All three of
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: them are loved and valued equally. Yet there are people
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: in power who don't see that value. They treat autism
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: like a disease that's killing millions and fail to see
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: the importance of the neurodiversity in the wild. My two
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: older kids with autism are part of their own communities
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: and they are thriving. My youngest may not have much
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: in the way of a community, but he thrives in
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: his own way, and he's a bundle of joy and love.
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: Hearing twenty years of people treating autism almost the same
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: as cancer has had a terrible effect on us, and
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: we do our best to treat it like the bullshit
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: it is, But goddamn is it exhausting At times. We
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: know that the strongest info we have on autism is
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: the genetic angle, and yet we keep seeing people try
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: to pin so many environmental factors on it instead of
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: researching how we can accommodate people on the spectrum to
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: make their lives easier. It's all ridiculous anyway.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: These things are.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: Supposed to have questions, So I want to know how
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: can we on the autism spectrum effectively combat feeling dehumanized
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: by the assault on autism? How can we cling to
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: our validity and value in a world with a vocal
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: minority who think otherwise of us. With love to all
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: of you, even Jim, your impal Justin aka frou jog.
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: Oh yeah, good job.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: Off, Yeah, just do it.
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: Jim doesn't say fuck the.
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: Police, right girl? Do it? Well, don't do it, though
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: you should say it. Yeah, but I mean you get
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: out a ticket. I mean you shouldn't do what you
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: gotta do, you got to do.
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: I hate this so much. I was just sitting here thinking,
- 1:21:56Speaker 5: what's an analogy? Because I'm not a good analogy person
- 1:21:59Speaker 5: like Nick, but what's an analogy for this? And it
- 1:22:02Speaker 5: kind of I went back to thinking like, oh, I'm
- 1:22:05Speaker 5: gonna get all so many terms wrong. But like if
- 1:22:07Speaker 5: humans like way back when we're not upright walkers, and.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: That was like the best, the best thing.
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: You can run faster because you're using all four of
- 1:22:16Speaker 5: your limbs, like all this stuff. And then eventually one
- 1:22:19Speaker 5: person like walks up right and like, ooh, that's weird.
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: Kill him right, So like they kill him and then
- 1:22:24Speaker 5: it's like oh, then all of a sudden, another one
- 1:22:26Speaker 5: like pops up and is walking up right, and it's
- 1:22:27Speaker 5: like it looks like this weird thing, and and really
- 1:22:30Speaker 5: it's just neutral, like if you walk up right or
- 1:22:33Speaker 5: you walk on all fours, like who fucking.
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: Care advance or or it could be an advanced well.
- 1:22:38Speaker 5: You don't know yet, but like let's let's keep it neutral.
- 1:22:40Speaker 5: Let's say it doesn't fucking matter. Yeah, we don't see that.
- 1:22:44Speaker 5: We just see different and that's not what is quote normal,
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: that's not what we're used to, and so we think
- 1:22:50Speaker 5: it's bad. And it's like, really, we don't know. It
- 1:22:53Speaker 5: could be something something amazing, Like we aren't giving people
- 1:22:57Speaker 5: with autism a chance to like show their potential a
- 1:23:01Speaker 5: lot of times because they're getting shut down so quickly
- 1:23:03Speaker 5: or like shunned out of things. And God, this administration
- 1:23:07Speaker 5: is really fucking just so much bigger too.
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: Than right administration because, like I mean, going back, I
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: think over a decade now, so much concern about vaccines
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: and whether they quote unquote cause autism. But I think
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: what Justin's pointing out here is when autism is the
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: punchline of every scary statement, you are pathologizing and dehumanizing
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: us in a sense.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: Yes, And I think this.
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: Is a tricky thing because the word autism and autism
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: spectrum disorder are considered mental health things, right, and we
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: talk about like ADHD in the same way, like it's
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: in our book of kind of quote unquote illnesses, and
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: so that's an interesting conversation to have about like and clearly,
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: like any trait or any kind of unique neuro reality,
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: it can be problematic. But we usually measure autism and
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: any other mental health thing on the amount of difficulty
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: it causes to the person, right, Like all humans have
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: some amount of anxiety. Sure, some of us have a
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: disordered amount. And the way we know the difference is
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: that it causes significant clinical distress in a lot of
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: areas of our lives. And so now we can measure
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: this disruption, and I think autism it probably could be
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: viewed on the same kind of scale, where it's like
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: just having it is not inherently bad, and talking about
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: this that way is kind of stupid. And talking about
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: ADHD that way in neurodivergence that way, as if the
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: entire group is invalid or dehumanized or less than that
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: is way too fucking much. Talking about humans who have
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: too much of any quality that causes distress in their
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: life and helping them with that particular part of it fine.
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: I think there's a way to humanize it too. But yeah,
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: I mean this kind of talk has been going on
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: for a long time and it's really getting serious right
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: now too.
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: That's going to be so wearing.
- 1:24:49Speaker 5: Yeah, just like Froyo described that, I can't imagine the
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: world constantly telling you that.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know what the answer is. I think
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: what's nice is more and more people coming out and
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: talking about being on the spectrum like ready, rich, being able.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: I'm just being open about it and just saying like, hey, yeah,
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: and I've got a solid job and I'm taking care
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: of myself and all this. And I think what that
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: does is it kind of doesn't It doesn't take away
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: from the fact that we need to pour some money
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: into research, and we need to find ways to support
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: people and help people and help families deal with this,
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: but not from the perspective of fear of it, you know,
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: because I think that's one of the things. I remember
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: Penn and Teller's bullshit when they did their episode on vaccines,
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: and the point that they made is that, like, hypothetically,
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: and maybe this isn't their point, this is what I
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: took from it. Hypothetically, let's just say that's the case
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: vaccines cause autism. If that is the case, if you
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: vaccinate your child, there's a potential that could have autism.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: If you don't, there's a potential that they will die.
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: So you're basically saying, I would rather my child be
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: dead than have autism. Right.
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: How ridiculous is that?
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: Right? You know? And so I mean, and that's the
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: best case scenario that that's what's actually happening, and it's not,
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: and so there's no research behind it, so I think,
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: and I think that's kind of the point that you
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: get it when it's all fear based and fear and ignorance. Yeah,
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: I'm afraid of it, and I don't know enough about it,
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: and therefore I'm willing to believe some shit that has
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: no scientific support.
- 1:26:40Speaker 5: Well, in my opinion, out times selfishness, because I think
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: of like one family in particular that didn't vaccinate their kids,
- 1:26:49Speaker 5: and their perspective was that, well, we're not at risk
- 1:26:54Speaker 5: because everyone else is vaccinated. And there is like an
- 1:26:58Speaker 5: anger within me from that perspective, only, yeah, because everyone
- 1:27:01Speaker 5: else is doing it. And now if they're not all
- 1:27:03Speaker 5: doing a feel in the state of Florida, now, for example,
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: like this is going to be a sad experiment on
- 1:27:08Speaker 5: all those children.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: I don't have to pay my club dues because everyone else.
- 1:27:12Speaker 5: Is exactly so they aren't thinking, yeah, they aren't thinking
- 1:27:18Speaker 5: my kid's going to die. They're thinking, oh no, my
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: kid's still protected, and I don't have to like risk autism.
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: It's just anyway, that was my side.
- 1:27:24Speaker 5: Tan.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: Sorry, No, it's bullshit on every angle. Uh.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: And it's idiotic.
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: It would be like if somebody gave me a platform
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: to talk about mental health care. Uh, and I have
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: no qualifications to talk.
- 1:27:40Speaker 6: About mental health caage in such a world, Yeah, if
- 1:27:43Speaker 6: it would just be ridiculous, as if you hadn't earned
- 1:27:47Speaker 6: those qualifications, right.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: I mean qualified I have. I have a PhD. But
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: if I didn't have those qualifications, it would be silly.
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: No, But this is something that I get where Justin's
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: at and I agree with what you were just saying
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: it because I think one thing you've also had in
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: there is there does need to be nuanced conversations, right
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: because there's a lot of families, like you know, Justin
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: talks about their youngest. Yeah, we would consider that person
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: somebody that is experiencing some of the distresses that come
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: with this and is going to require support, and it's
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: going to require extra help, and and so there's there's
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: a fine line between therefore dehumanizing them and making them
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: less than versus treating them like a dignified member of
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: the human families and saying like, hey, that's that's one
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: of our people, and we're going to take care of them.
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: Right. There's also people that have fucking.
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: Ibs, you know, they're just like, yep, they just have
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: a gastro intestinal problem and like they can't eat the
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: things you eat, and like their life is going to
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: look differ. They're going to need specal accommodations or whatever
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: the fuck. Like, okay, great, Like we don't we don't
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: need to constantly be like, you know, escapegoating them and
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: be like, oh, that's the worst possibility can happen, is like,
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: or we could just all chill out and just give
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: them breaks, you know, like let them go take a
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: shit when they take it.
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: Said, everyone should be tolerant of lactose, Okay, yeah, yeah,
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: everyone on board.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: With lactose. Yeah yeah, we will not we will not
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: condone this intolerance any farther.
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: That's right, you know what I'm I'm that's the helbal.
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: Dian this podcast has needed lactose intolerance.
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: Toller la Post. You know what you were doing when
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: you wrote into the show just you did that. You
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: literally wrote his life coach jingle. This is your fault.
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: No, But I love this letter because, you know, and
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: Justin kind of says it like, look, I realized I'm
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: kind of just sharing more than I'm asking any questions.
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: But like, you know, how do we you know, try
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: to get through that? And I think I love this
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: point that you made, Nick, like it takes people getting
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: out there and being visible with allism and you know autism,
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: those who live with autism. It doesn't lend itself to
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: people that would go into performance roles that you'd see
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: in popular media. But you will find plenty of them
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: at fucking NASA, you know, absolutely, you know you'll see
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: them like curing goddamn diseases and like, you know, putting
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: things together.
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: And you know, even even with me, they have huge dicks. Yeah,
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: That's what I've heard. Even with me giving that advice.
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: I don't like that advice because you know, to be
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: you know, to be representative and to be out there
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: and to just you know, own it The thing I
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: don't like about is that you shouldn't have to do
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: that exactly. You know, Like, if if I've got something
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: that I'm dealing with internally, I shouldn't have to be
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: a spokesperson for it. I shouldn't have to put myself
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: out there. I shouldn't have to open myself up to
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: shit that's going on in my life if you want to,
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: perfectly fine, absolutely, if I decide, if I decide that
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: this is the thing that I want to promote and
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: I want to use my energy towards this car, you
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: don't have to be a spokesperson for autism if you're
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: on the spectrum. Exactly. You shouldn't be forced. You shouldn't
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: be expected to do that. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: No, but that's just in history, that's how change has
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: been made.
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're right, people get forced into you have
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: to people.
- 1:31:17Speaker 6: People must be allowed to, must be allowed to represent
- 1:31:22Speaker 6: themselves if they if they so choose to.
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but they shouldn't be forced into it.
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, it's interesting. I was there was a
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: point where this group had asked me to do a
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: talk on personality disorders, and I was really intimidated by
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: it because it's like, oh boy, you know, I just
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: I don't love doing personality disorder treatment.
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: I just don't know.
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: There's a lot of weird stuff that goes along with
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: the diagnosis of it. Just don't feel good about it.
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: But I told them, like, alternatively consider it. And I
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: bought this really good deep dive book into the history
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: of personality disorders, and one of the things that really
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: fascinated me about the book is it was talking about
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: how in many ways, personality disorders are just fucking make
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: believe because they essentially only matter if the culture doesn't
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: like the behavior of the human. But it was talking
- 1:32:08Speaker 3: about and it even it mentioned also neurodiversity in the book,
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: and it said, like autism, if you could, you could
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: go back in history and you could diagnose all of
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: like eighteenth century Prussia with autism because like, yeah, so
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: like what are the mannerisms like right's dude, like you know,
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: emotionally disconnected, like not thinking about social cues. That that
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: was an entire culture, Like that was an entire group
- 1:32:27Speaker 3: of people.
- 1:32:27Speaker 6: That if you want to get if you wanted to
- 1:32:29Speaker 6: get even into even tougher situations, you could say you
- 1:32:32Speaker 6: talked about things like Joseph Smith, right, repeating the same
- 1:32:35Speaker 6: Mormon story in slightly different words in different ways. I've
- 1:32:40Speaker 6: had several Mormon friends talk to me about how like, oh,
- 1:32:44Speaker 6: like language experts have studied Joseph Smith's speakings that were
- 1:32:49Speaker 6: that were written down for him and said, oh, this
- 1:32:52Speaker 6: can't be something that he was making up. This is
- 1:32:55Speaker 6: this is as it looks like something that he was
- 1:32:58Speaker 6: reading and not just making up as he was saying.
- 1:33:00Speaker 6: And if you know the Mormon story, you know what
- 1:33:02Speaker 6: I'm talking about. And the first thing that I watched
- 1:33:08Speaker 6: somebody having that conversationise was or he could have been
- 1:33:10Speaker 6: on the autistic spectrum, right, because that also explains this completely.
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: Right, And that's what's so fascinating about it, is like
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: when we come up with these words to describe characteristics,
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: personality traits, it's a dangerous game to play because this
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: goes back to like when is something a quote unquote disorder?
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: And this goes to Whitney's point about apparently do we
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: just fine? Yeah, like when when do we die in religion?
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: Like red hair is a genetic deviation that can only
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: happen in certain genetic codes, right, but like we don't
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: look at it as an abomination necessarily though the gingers are.
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: You know, an people.
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: But yeah, like you look at like that quality and
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: you say, okay, this is a genetic variation. But we say,
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: look it's it's an outlier, but it's within the normal,
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: wild realm of how humans will appear. And like that,
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: it doesn't need to be diagnosed, it doesn't need to
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: be pathologized. And I think on the show for years,
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: it's one of the things that we've often said is
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: like we don't like the weaponization of mental health. We
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: don't like pathologizing typical human behavior. In the past, we've
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: talked about not everybody has to be a narciss he
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: could just say he's an asshole, Like that's just somebody
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: humans can be. Yeah, And it's interesting because like there's
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: a I think a good argument to be made of
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: is autism even something that deserves a word that sounds
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: mental healthy. Can't it just be a personality type? Can't
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: it just be a way the brain works? And I
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: think that's what neurodivergence is trying to do, is try
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: to like enter a space where we say, what if
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: we could talk about like atypical neurological ways as a
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: personality trait instead of like pathologizing this as a disease.
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: What if we save disease talk for impairment, like the
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: person who is actually impaired their nonverbal like that, Yes, okay,
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: this is causing clinical significant distress in their life. Great,
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: now let's treat those symptoms and that reality. But maybe
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: we don't need to pathologize everything about the person. Maybe
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: that's part of the solution to I don't know, yep.
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: Or we just put worms in everybody's heads. I think
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: that's like if you fight, you know, the only thing
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: could stop a bad guy with a worm in his.
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: Head that is a good guy.
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: That's right, That's that's how we solve this problem.
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: Or a good worm with a bad guy in its head.
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: Oh, ship's okay, playing some air drunk about it, putting
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: the man in the worm a.
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: Little trumpet.
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and I can't do it throat. My throat literally
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: wouldn't make the noise trump.
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: I could usually do that.
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: We are gonna take a quick break and when we

- 1:36:13Speaker 3: as we were hanging out with people at Scoopfest, I
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: would notice I'd have a conversation with somebody and get
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: along with them really well, and then all of a sudden,
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: I'd get a notification in my phone that somebody just
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: became a therapal or a therapy and I'd see their
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: name and be like, oh, that's so cool.
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: I'm just hanging out with this dude, Nate, and then
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: and then all sudden he's.
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: Like boo, I'm like cool man out there doing the work.
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: Fun, fun random scoop Fest story. So, uh, you guys,
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: were all tea Liberty University bit showed up a lot.
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: Yeah, And so one of the scoops comes out and
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: he goes, hey, bro, I've never listened to your show.
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: I went to Liberty University too. I was like, shut
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: the fuck up, like I worked there, man, and so
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: like we were just sitting there trading war stories. He
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: has the same bachelors as me. It was in studies
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: in religion. They don't offer a different one. That's right.
- 1:37:00Speaker 4: I thought they all.
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: That one. Those are those are two degrees they had.
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: That's right.
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: That's the only the only university of the world where
- 1:37:09Speaker 2: they still have home that class.
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: That's right. Yeah.
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: But it was really funny Bacon.
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: Asking questions about it. You have my attention.
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: He's like, is this.
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: Something you don't talk about like in that in the podcast.
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: World's like no, I did a whole deep dive on it,
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: like because you know, like all my friends are atheists,
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: and like I don't know what the fuck I am
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: and this comes up a lot, and so like I've
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: recorded a whole thing where I try to figure that out.
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: And he was like, is this on your Patreon? And
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: I was like yeah, like that and it's later.
- 1:37:36Speaker 5: When when Liberty was mentioned, they were like, oh, wait,
- 1:37:40Speaker 5: Jim did go there. I was like, yes, somebody, Yeah.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: He hadn't actually gone there, it wouldn't be nearly as
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: funny a joke.
- 1:37:48Speaker 4: Like they were shocked, like, oh, I did not know.
- 1:37:51Speaker 4: I thought that was a joke. No, he went there
- 1:37:53Speaker 4: and people actually went there.
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: Again. I came to your defense. I did the Lord's
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: work this.
- 1:37:59Speaker 4: You just weren't there to see it, Jim, because you
- 1:38:01Speaker 4: were in your car.
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: Because we were there only one set of footprints in
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: the same because Jesus was carrying his wife. So we
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: get some Yeah, no I did. I did clarify the
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: pH D is legit, thank you.
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: But when I had the master, Jacob's pH D is legit.
- 1:38:25Speaker 5: I don't think you need his masters. It's from Liberty.
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: I'm gonna get yours, but.
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: Having to mine's legit.
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: So here's from like a Texas Baptist School or something
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: like that.
- 1:38:38Speaker 5: My undergrad, my bachelor's, my masters is UT Arlington.
- 1:38:42Speaker 6: It doesn't matter because the Texas Bible School or whatever
- 1:38:45Speaker 6: is still just Bible than it is.
- 1:38:47Speaker 4: I had to take like one, like two Bibles.
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: So we've got some new friends who signed up for
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: the their party at patroon dot com slash therapy, like,
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: we got.
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: A new therapeal, Sherry Phillips, got two new therapods, Emily Cope,
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: Welcome Elli and Nate where he is from Liberty Nate.
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: We got some new theradactyls too.
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: We got milk boy.
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: I think I'm pronouncing that right, feels right and blip blop.
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: So I was talking to Adam rabisnick Uh and Adam
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: what Yeah, And this is exactly what it was about.
- 1:39:22Speaker 4: I'm so.
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: He was like, hey, do you have you figured out
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: the same my last name yet? And I said Rebusnik.
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: He's like, there's literally not even an end in it,
- 1:39:29Speaker 3: Like what the fuck. And I was like, yeah, this
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: is hopeless. He goes, I know, that's why I upgraded
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: my Patreon to Theradactyls, so that Whitney would have.
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: Been the one reading my name. My name is hilarious.
- 1:39:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:39:41Speaker 3: I was like, so your choices were like quit patrooning
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: the show or or upgrade, and I basically extorted you
- 1:39:48Speaker 3: into an upgrade by ruining your name.
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: He's like, yeah, and that checks out. That deal goes
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: for all of our listeners. That's right, the more you pay,
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: the more effort we will there. We'll get to re
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: you're Davis, a more intelligent host will read the name.
- 1:40:04Speaker 6: And hey, if you get onto one of those bigger levels,
- 1:40:06Speaker 6: the studio might even get named after you.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: For a special episode. That's a great bip.
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: But this is the first episode of the next month,
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: and so we always like to thank all of our
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: therapods and theradactyls, and of course we think our producers
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: and partners every single episode, but therap pods thank you.

- 1:41:12Speaker 3: And I'm like, of course, I have nobody surprised. And
- 1:41:15Speaker 3: so I was like, well, how do I say your
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: last name? It's not Cappel and he's like, no, it's
- 1:41:20Speaker 3: insert correct pronunciation. I don't remember what he said, and
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: so I said, I'm just gonna keep running with Cappel
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: because I don't remember how it might have been.
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: Compel, Compel German. I believe he's.
