- 0:40Speaker 3: Yo Yo, welcome in.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Oh t be here on this Monday, Monday Monday. Should
- 0:51Speaker 2: let that breathe there, I should let that breathe every day.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I thought it was just instrumental. You know, we had words.
- 0:58Speaker 4: You think people are listening, like, are feeling the music
- 1:01Speaker 4: as much as we are in here?
- 1:02Speaker 2: I think so, I hope so. We got the radio
- 1:05Speaker 2: on the radios for a couple of things, but mainly music,
- 1:10Speaker 2: music and sports sports is there. It's mainly music.
- 1:15Speaker 5: I think we enjoyed the music most of all on
- 1:17Speaker 5: this show.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Half while I'm here. Jake Flynn elandra ta ta all
- 1:24Speaker 2: here with you to Monday. It feels like it's been forever.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Since the start of the week we've had everybody in.
- 1:29Speaker 5: Here has happened. It happened since my first day.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I think that was literally that was the last time.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Was the last time we were all here together on
- 1:38Speaker 2: a Monday.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Yeah, we don't want to throw shade at anybody me
- 1:43Speaker 4: and have been here. Did I miss it Monday?
- 1:46Speaker 5: You missed like four days?
- 1:48Speaker 4: You missed a Monday, that's right, yeah, right, but you
- 1:54Speaker 4: made it back from your business trip.
- 1:56Speaker 5: I did. It was a little touch and go there.
- 1:59Speaker 5: It was in doubt for sure.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I was like I was ready. I was like, oh,
- 2:03Speaker 2: here we go.
- 2:04Speaker 5: Yeah. I had a real quick trip.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Flew in Saturday, stayed one night, had like a short conference,
- 2:10Speaker 4: and then it was coming back and I, you know,
- 2:12Speaker 4: I pretty much spent the entire day at the airport yesterday,
- 2:15Speaker 4: which sucked.
- 2:17Speaker 5: Orlando Airport. You stink was there?
- 2:23Speaker 4: I mean, but let me tell you the commitment I
- 2:25Speaker 4: had to this show. I had three different flights booked
- 2:29Speaker 4: at the same time at one point to get back
- 2:32Speaker 4: here because I was on a I was on a
- 2:34Speaker 4: Southwest flight.
- 2:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and it was supposed to be like a five
- 2:37Speaker 5: o'clock flight, five thirty flight.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Get the get the news at like noon one pm
- 2:42Speaker 4: that it's delayed till seven, Like all right, let's stink.
- 2:46Speaker 4: About an hour later, that's delayed till nine. Like, oh,
- 2:48Speaker 4: this isn't gonna work. I've seen this happen.
- 2:51Speaker 5: I've seen this story play out. Why where they just
- 2:53Speaker 5: keep delayed, delayed, delayed, delay, canceled, cancel.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:55Speaker 4: So I was like, all right, so looked in. I
- 2:57Speaker 4: was like, all right, how else am I gonna get back?
- 2:59Speaker 4: I gotta get back to New Orleans. Guss where my
- 3:01Speaker 4: car is. I want to go to Baton Rouge and
- 3:02Speaker 4: have to like uber to New Orleans the next day. Right,
- 3:06Speaker 4: So we found the old Frontier airline.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I was wondering because you said Frontier, and I'm like, look,
- 3:13Speaker 2: I know this is a cheap s ob, but Frontier,
- 3:17Speaker 2: what's he doing was he's got a wife and family.
- 3:20Speaker 2: He can't be risking Frontier.
- 3:22Speaker 5: I just like, y'all should just know the commitment I have.
- 3:25Speaker 5: I was really willing.
- 3:26Speaker 4: To risk my life to make it back for this show.
- 3:29Speaker 4: And that's what you're doing, really when you're when you're
- 3:31Speaker 4: booking Frontier. And I did it, and uh I got there.
- 3:35Speaker 4: We're booking Frontier and then of course they they like,
- 3:40Speaker 4: they don't cancel, they delay the flight, and in like
- 3:43Speaker 4: pure Frontier fashion, they don't tell you anything at the gate, like, hey,
- 3:47Speaker 4: how long were we delayed? I don't know, all right, Well,
- 3:51Speaker 4: like what's the problem. I don't know.
- 3:54Speaker 5: I don't really know. There's just a there's a bunch
- 3:56Speaker 5: of maintenance people on the plane.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Oh no, I don't like that.
- 3:59Speaker 5: And so like I'm not on Frontier Frontier.
- 4:02Speaker 4: So I'm like in my head, I'm just like, it's
- 4:04Speaker 4: not a mechanic, it's nothing wrong with the engine. It's
- 4:07Speaker 4: probably like the AC's broken. Because no one wants to
- 4:10Speaker 4: sit on a hot plane. They're probably just fixing the AC.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Well that probably so, all right, Okay, so let me
- 4:16Speaker 4: tell you that. So I got the Frontier flight and
- 4:18Speaker 4: I canceled my Southwest flight right right, got my credits back, yep,
- 4:22Speaker 4: got Southwest bucks. So this flight I'm about I'm there
- 4:27Speaker 4: for like three hours, still delayed, nothing, nothing, nothing. Well,
- 4:31Speaker 4: I rebooked my flight with Southwest, the same flight I
- 4:34Speaker 4: was on that had been delayed to like nine thirty PM.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Rebooked with that anyway, So I had.
- 4:40Speaker 4: A bunch of flights and anyway, my Frontier flight, they
- 4:42Speaker 4: finally say all right, let's go, We're ready. Mechanics said
- 4:45Speaker 4: we're good to go, and I'm thinking to myself, are
- 4:47Speaker 4: these Orlando Airport mechanics? Are these frontier mechanics?
- 4:51Speaker 5: Like what calm?
- 4:53Speaker 2: Which one's worst?
- 4:54Speaker 4: What caliber mechanic we're working with? So anyway, we get
- 4:57Speaker 4: on the flight and it is what you think it was,
- 5:01Speaker 4: you know, frontier flight. You know, you never knew how
- 5:03Speaker 4: bare minimum like a chair could be until you.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Get we might have we might have casting out your
- 5:10Speaker 2: life insurance through text messages.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I was. I wanted to make sure it was
- 5:13Speaker 5: up to date.
- 5:14Speaker 4: But you get on the plate and like you already
- 5:16Speaker 4: got you got some nerves I don't like in these
- 5:18Speaker 4: days anyway of it. Every little noise, like I keep
- 5:23Speaker 4: looking out the window, like right on the wing and
- 5:25Speaker 4: like there smoke coming out. Yeah, you ever like take
- 5:29Speaker 4: off of the flight real quick? So you take off
- 5:31Speaker 4: and they like slow down.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Really fast and.
- 5:35Speaker 4: The engine down. But it's like do you have to
- 5:37Speaker 4: do it so fast? Like I don't know, we're not
- 5:40Speaker 4: street racing here. You could take it back like easy.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Uh no, speaking of kind of street racing. Went and
- 5:48Speaker 2: saw F one last night, me and Jackson Brad Pitt
- 5:51Speaker 2: F one. How was it awesome?
- 5:54Speaker 5: That's what I've heard.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Awesome and you said street racing reminded me of like
- 5:58Speaker 2: when we were in high school and you go see
- 5:59Speaker 2: fast and Furious and you get in your car and
- 6:01Speaker 2: you don't even really know you're doing it, and you're like, oh,
- 6:03Speaker 2: I'm going eighty seven and a thirty five. That can't happen.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Don't need to do that again. I mean, I'm pushing
- 6:09Speaker 2: this Highlander to the limits last night, just kidding all
- 6:11Speaker 2: Star sort of. Jackson's like, slow.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Down, you know, that's what we always say about those
- 6:18Speaker 4: fast they.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Can go slow.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it's basically Brad Pitt was driving it last night.
- 6:23Speaker 5: Awesome, Wait real quick, I'll changed lanes without the blinker.
- 6:25Speaker 5: We we know how you feel about Frontier. What are
- 6:27Speaker 5: your thoughts on Spirit Airlines? Okay? All right, all right,
- 6:31Speaker 5: we're going to get there.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Okay, can I can I set the scene real quick?
- 6:35Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 6:35Speaker 2: Because so when you were flying Frontier, we did pop
- 6:38Speaker 2: off a bunch of jokes in the group text and
- 6:41Speaker 2: we're like, you know, don't you make it?
- 6:43Speaker 5: Oh?
- 6:43Speaker 2: Yeah, because you don't fly.
- 6:44Speaker 5: That's true.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I don't do. I did a singular I asked about
- 6:50Speaker 2: his life insurance. I just want to make sure lady
- 6:51Speaker 2: and the kids were taken care of, but it was
- 6:55Speaker 2: Frontier And so we got into the studio today and
- 6:58Speaker 2: we're talking about it and Tatan and I knew exactly
- 7:01Speaker 2: what he was going to say. He's like, Flynn, how
- 7:04Speaker 2: do you feel about Spirit Airlines? And his answer was
- 7:09Speaker 2: they're underrated.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Spirit Airlines definitely.
- 7:14Speaker 2: The funniest answer that I would have came out of
- 7:16Speaker 2: his mouth.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Spirit said, no problems, but.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Anyone ever say that Spirit Airlines is underrated.
- 7:25Speaker 4: So I understand, Well, that's because I know how they
- 7:28Speaker 4: are rated in public opinion, because I get the feeds.
- 7:32Speaker 4: I get, like people video and fights and arguments and
- 7:35Speaker 4: all this like stuff about Spirit and I get that.
- 7:38Speaker 4: And actually I didn't know that Frontier with what y'all
- 7:42Speaker 4: told me was comparable to that.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Yes, okay, so much. It makes sense. I got it now,
- 7:47Speaker 5: Like I'm with you on that.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:49Speaker 4: But Spirit, to me, when you're talking about how they're rated,
- 7:52Speaker 4: they're rated really low because of what people post. So
- 7:55Speaker 4: that said they're underrated because I've had some good experiences
- 8:00Speaker 4: with because they have they have these random direct flights
- 8:04Speaker 4: from New Orleans. So I got I told y'all, we
- 8:06Speaker 4: took our family of five to a direct flight to Columbus,
- 8:09Speaker 4: Ohio one time, and it was like eight hundred bucks.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I assume that you were going to go hang out
- 8:14Speaker 2: with ajo to visit a host state, unless you know
- 8:20Speaker 2: you were delivering them.
- 8:23Speaker 5: We were visiting our friends.
- 8:24Speaker 4: But like we got there for five kids, I'm sorry,
- 8:26Speaker 4: five family, five round chair for like eight or nine
- 8:28Speaker 4: hundred bucks. Now here's my disclosure on that. So I
- 8:32Speaker 4: did go. It was peaceful, We had nice I'm not
- 8:36Speaker 4: gonna say nice, but it was seats, all right, there
- 8:39Speaker 4: were seats.
- 8:40Speaker 2: They had seats on the plane. We didn't have to
- 8:42Speaker 2: stand a minimum. You have to lay down.
- 8:44Speaker 4: You do have to pay for carry ons. You can
- 8:46Speaker 4: carry a backpack. You got to pay for things, all right.
- 8:49Speaker 4: So it's like you bring your own snacks, like you're
- 8:51Speaker 4: already prepped.
- 8:52Speaker 5: You're ready.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Don't let them handle you, get your you get your
- 8:55Speaker 4: UH boarding passes on your phone beforehand, because they charged
- 8:58Speaker 4: you to like print out boarding passes. They charge you
- 9:00Speaker 4: for a lot of things. All right, that's crazy, but
- 9:02Speaker 4: you got to be prepared. But I'll say the one
- 9:06Speaker 4: complaint I had was a pretty big one. We were
- 9:09Speaker 4: sitting there and of course everybody knows how to what
- 9:11Speaker 4: it's like to travel with children. Yeah, like there's a
- 9:13Speaker 4: lot that you got to be very attentive. You don't
- 9:15Speaker 4: get to relax a lot because they always need something.
- 9:18Speaker 4: They need snacks, they need colors, they need whatever it is. Well,
- 9:21Speaker 4: one of my children was was eating or chewing gup.
- 9:24Speaker 4: I can't remember what they were doing, but they needed something.
- 9:27Speaker 5: They needed a trash. Yeah, so I get what do
- 9:30Speaker 5: you do if you need trash on an airplane?
- 9:31Speaker 4: You get a doggy bag? Yeah, And he gets a
- 9:33Speaker 4: little throw up the bar bag and I'm like, all right,
- 9:35Speaker 4: it's a fresh one. Boom, I get it.
- 9:36Speaker 5: I pop it out?
- 9:38Speaker 4: Had do you pop it out? You put your hand
- 9:39Speaker 4: in it, pop out the bottom. There's puke in it.
- 9:45Speaker 4: Wait yep, stuck the old hand and some puke.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Hold up.
- 9:51Speaker 2: A bag that was on the airplane in the back
- 9:56Speaker 2: of the sea. There was an old puke used bag. Yeah,
- 10:00Speaker 2: and you had the audacity to say it was underrated.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Yeah, Like I'm not. I'm not with you anymore. Like
- 10:06Speaker 5: I've only used it once and did have a problem.
- 10:08Speaker 5: If I have that happened I've.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Used I stick my hand in there and there's puke
- 10:12Speaker 2: in there. Already, right, it is going to be Spard Airlines,
- 10:16Speaker 2: brought to you by Jacob Pester. Right everything you thought
- 10:20Speaker 2: Spirit Airlines would be. What are you talking about?
- 10:22Speaker 5: Underrated? Yeah? Like, hey, because I was with you until this,
- 10:27Speaker 5: guess what it was? What?
- 10:30Speaker 4: I don't want that to happen for sure. Don't want
- 10:32Speaker 4: to stick my hand in puke. I looked at Lacy
- 10:34Speaker 4: and I was like, I'll be back.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Did you call somebody over and say, hey, there, you're
- 10:40Speaker 2: a little bit in shock, like things are happening.
- 10:43Speaker 4: You're you're traveling with three young kids as it is,
- 10:45Speaker 4: so things are, things are hectic, all right. I didn't
- 10:49Speaker 4: have time to like look at the bag, inspect it
- 10:51Speaker 4: and be like, yep, that's a freshy it was I
- 10:54Speaker 4: pulled it out. They needed that trash, well, they need
- 10:57Speaker 4: that trash. They need it right now.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I don't know what it was for you, remember, Wow,
- 11:03Speaker 2: did not expect that. I thought I thought you were
- 11:05Speaker 2: gonna say they charged me for using the bag. I
- 11:07Speaker 2: didn't that you were gonna end up with puke on
- 11:11Speaker 2: your hand.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Yep?
- 11:13Speaker 2: Did you end up telling anybody like, I gotta say
- 11:16Speaker 2: something to somebody. So the next poor bastard he got
- 11:21Speaker 2: puke on his hand.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it was just a pay it forward situation. I
- 11:24Speaker 4: puked in a bag, stuck it in the pocket for
- 11:26Speaker 4: the next guy.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Yeah, it was tough.
- 11:32Speaker 4: With that being said, I would fly it again because
- 11:38Speaker 4: of the cheapness. Pretty good. If you can say stick
- 11:42Speaker 4: what what is the dollar amount for you to stick
- 11:44Speaker 4: your hand in?
- 11:46Speaker 2: It feels like, you know, instead of going to like Cabo,
- 11:50Speaker 2: you're going to Tijuana when you chance to spirit fly,
- 11:55Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Yep, from going to Mexico. Oh,
- 11:59Speaker 2: Cabo's cool to Juana, all right, but it's a.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Direct It was direct. Didn't have to change over you
- 12:09Speaker 4: you're talking about layovers with children.
- 12:11Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I got. I kind of go back and forth with
- 12:13Speaker 2: that sometimes I'm like, you know, you gotta because we're
- 12:17Speaker 2: we're going to California as the longest we go to
- 12:19Speaker 2: go see family. It's like direct from New Orleans to California.
- 12:23Speaker 2: That's a long one ball. But if you stop in
- 12:25Speaker 2: you know, Dallas or Houston and kind of split it
- 12:28Speaker 2: a little bit.
- 12:30Speaker 4: I was also in a spirit plane one time. There
- 12:32Speaker 4: was a mechanic working on the wing and there was
- 12:35Speaker 4: what looked at the time, like duct tape because it
- 12:39Speaker 4: was you know, silver tape on the wing. Uh, I
- 12:44Speaker 4: mean ducta is strong, right. But I did find out
- 12:48Speaker 4: that there is something called like I'm not even gonna
- 12:51Speaker 4: say this, I'm just gonna make a generic turn.
- 12:53Speaker 5: It's like airplane tape that is like somebody say.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Yeah, there's specific us. It looks like it did make
- 13:00Speaker 4: me feel better. Now, does Spirit pay for the airplane tape?
- 13:06Speaker 4: No other than because it's probably the same.
- 13:08Speaker 2: No, they went to Wahlmart and got some duct tape.
- 13:12Speaker 5: But we made it.
- 13:13Speaker 4: I was on that flight yesterday and again super hyper
- 13:17Speaker 4: sensitive to any noise that plane is making, said my prayers.
- 13:23Speaker 5: I was yeah, and y'all kept.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Texting me before and I was like, all right, guys,
- 13:28Speaker 4: this is like this this group that has a lot
- 13:30Speaker 4: of fiery death vibes.
- 13:31Speaker 5: Right now, so like let's just chill.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Sorry. I was like, I was in the movie theater
- 13:35Speaker 2: watching the movie and it was fast cars, so I
- 13:37Speaker 2: had some of adrenaline pumping. I just thought i'd shoot
- 13:40Speaker 2: off some straight text messages. You made it. We made it, Elanda.
- 13:46Speaker 2: You really haven't seen the promos for the Brad Pitt
- 13:48Speaker 2: F one movie. No, I didn't even know Brad Pitt
- 13:50Speaker 2: had a movie out right now. I feel like everywhere
- 13:55Speaker 2: they don't really consume a lot of content outside of
- 13:58Speaker 2: like because I don't need that. I mean and certainly
- 14:01Speaker 2: like live TV. But I feel like if I was
- 14:03Speaker 2: watching ESPN for some reason, yeah f one that the
- 14:07Speaker 2: promo was there, I don't think I like, really pay
- 14:09Speaker 2: attention hard enough to did it linger it all? It
- 14:12Speaker 2: was long?
- 14:13Speaker 4: But no, Well that's what because I was looking at
- 14:15Speaker 4: news all the weekend and it was like two hours
- 14:17Speaker 4: thirty five minutes.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's like, but no, it was it was good.
- 14:21Speaker 5: Did keep your attention? I'm sure there's had I mean
- 14:25Speaker 5: hours of like I mean, it was.
- 14:28Speaker 2: No punt intending like full throttle. Oh dang, Brad Pitts
- 14:33Speaker 2: still Guy's fastball son of a gun. So saved something
- 14:37Speaker 2: for the rest of it. And what what was the character?
- 14:41Speaker 3: Uh?
- 14:41Speaker 2: Sonny was his name, Sonny Hayes. I believe so this
- 14:44Speaker 2: is a fictional, yes, situation, but they have real drivers
- 14:48Speaker 2: like Lewis Hamilton was in in the movie. You didn't
- 14:51Speaker 2: have any like lines or anything, but they kept showing him.
- 14:53Speaker 2: And I don't want to give too much away. But
- 14:55Speaker 2: he was in. He was involved in a big scene.
- 14:58Speaker 2: So yeah, go check it out.
- 15:00Speaker 5: Good.
- 15:00Speaker 2: It's my movie recommendation. You just go see it. It's
- 15:02Speaker 2: two and a half hours, but it goes by pretty fast. Again,
- 15:05Speaker 2: no pun intended there either. Good movie. Brad Pitt did great,
- 15:09Speaker 2: great movie, go see it. Hadn't seen a movie in
- 15:12Speaker 2: a very long time. Certainly that wasn't a cartoon, so
- 15:15Speaker 2: me and Jackson enjoyed it. I ate my waiting popcorn.
- 15:18Speaker 5: I think, oh man, come on.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yesterday was cheat day and there was cheating going on. Popcorn. Uh,
- 15:28Speaker 2: peanut butter, Eminem's and Pretzel.
- 15:32Speaker 5: The pretzel leminems are so good and I can't find them.
- 15:35Speaker 5: Oh wait, like a pretzel pretzel because they also havel pretzel.
- 15:38Speaker 2: But Pretzel Eminem's and the Blue Bag used to be.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I can't think they make them anymore. I only see
- 15:43Speaker 2: them in airports. Yeah they're probably old. Yeah, and I'm
- 15:47Speaker 2: still eating they do.
- 15:49Speaker 5: They have the the coke ICs.
- 15:55Speaker 2: It was a game time decision. Blue Red Icy are
- 16:00Speaker 2: go with the Coke zero? Do't with the Coke zero.
- 16:02Speaker 2: There's a game time decision. Though I'm with you.
- 16:05Speaker 4: I will say they have made a lot of improvements
- 16:08Speaker 4: and at home popcorn technology, like that home popcorn is
- 16:12Speaker 4: legit now, like it's it's getting pretty damn close to
- 16:15Speaker 4: movie theater quality. But there's still nothing like that big
- 16:20Speaker 4: old bucket. Take it over there to the fake butter dispenser,
- 16:24Speaker 4: push that greasy red button.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I know, I don't do that.
- 16:27Speaker 5: I don't. I don't don't do the butter.
- 16:28Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't. I don't go overboard.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Okay, celebrated water, white cheddar, give me the white cheddar.
- 16:37Speaker 5: Shakeup. I'm buying the res PCs and dumping them in
- 16:41Speaker 5: like we're doing it all.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I mean, at least, you know, peanut butter, m and
- 16:43Speaker 2: ms on went peanut butter. Get some protein in there,
- 16:45Speaker 2: no extra butter on the popcorn went coke zero not
- 16:49Speaker 2: a coke.
- 16:50Speaker 4: But but you know what's the difference when you go
- 16:53Speaker 4: to the theater and you have the guy or girl
- 16:57Speaker 4: that works back there, that takes ultimate pride, and how
- 17:01Speaker 4: they scooped that popcorn up, like.
- 17:03Speaker 5: They fluff it up and they pour.
- 17:06Speaker 4: It up and then and they'll like get it at
- 17:08Speaker 4: halfway and they're like, you want butter, and they'll pour
- 17:10Speaker 4: the butter halfway they'll shake it blah blah blah, like
- 17:12Speaker 4: they take pride in it. And this makes a difference.
- 17:15Speaker 4: If you're road last night, Yeah, I hadn't got it
- 17:19Speaker 4: in a while. That's a difficult, but y'all know what
- 17:24Speaker 4: I'm talking about. Theater and you get that guy that
- 17:26Speaker 4: takes pride in it, it makes a differences. Been a
- 17:29Speaker 4: little TLC in that popcorn bucket.
- 17:31Speaker 2: There was like there we have an old school movie theater.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Like I'm old school, like old school, like the seats
- 17:39Speaker 2: like look like little stadium seats where like the little
- 17:41Speaker 2: cherry just folded down. They were cloth and it wasn't
- 17:43Speaker 2: even like On on the Rise. It was like the
- 17:45Speaker 2: old like barely this was no. This was in California.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I'm saying when I played for the Chargers went out
- 17:51Speaker 2: and it was in Poway, California. But they had a
- 17:54Speaker 2: guy John who did exactly what you're talking about. This
- 17:57Speaker 2: old movie theater. Now they showed all new movies, but
- 18:00Speaker 2: like a retro feel to it, and he was that
- 18:02Speaker 2: like he was a show. When he put the popcorn
- 18:05Speaker 2: into a bucket, you were getting like you're paying for
- 18:08Speaker 2: the movie ticket, but you're also paying for John services
- 18:11Speaker 2: for him to go out there and ham it up
- 18:12Speaker 2: when he's making the popcorn. And it was a great experience.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Good for him. I don't even know if he's alive
- 18:19Speaker 4: or debit RP to him.
- 18:20Speaker 2: He's probably still with us. He was young.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Good for him.
- 18:22Speaker 2: He's a young fellow.
- 18:25Speaker 5: We need more.

- 21:31Speaker 2: All right, so, Titey, you put this inside of the
- 21:34Speaker 2: document and it is a little surprising and it is
- 21:38Speaker 2: a strength of schedule for the SEC teams. And of
- 21:41Speaker 2: course we're talking football here because they go, you know,
- 21:45Speaker 2: from sixteen down to number one. And at number sixteen,
- 21:49Speaker 2: the Texas Longhorns played in the SEC championship game a
- 21:54Speaker 2: year ago, so really good last year, expect you to
- 21:59Speaker 2: be really good this year. And their average opponent win
- 22:02Speaker 2: total is the lowest in the SEC. At number fifteen,
- 22:08Speaker 2: another team that made the College Football Playoff, Tennessee. So
- 22:13Speaker 2: you go two teams that made the college football Playoff,
- 22:15Speaker 2: Texas and Tennessee, with what it's expected to be the
- 22:20Speaker 2: easiest schedules as far as win totals in the SEC,
- 22:24Speaker 2: that's pretty nice.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Yeah, embarrassment of riches there. And I guess I mean
- 22:30Speaker 4: this isn't it's a little bit different than the old
- 22:33Speaker 4: days where strength you controlled your strength strength to schedule
- 22:36Speaker 4: a lot, by who you scheduled, you know, out of conference,
- 22:39Speaker 4: blah blah blah. So this is this is really just
- 22:42Speaker 4: kind of the luck of the draw at this point,
- 22:43Speaker 4: like who's good, who's bad?
- 22:44Speaker 5: Like the teams that are.
- 22:46Speaker 4: That are rebuilding, that you're facing where you're falling in
- 22:49Speaker 4: your home, you're being the visitor at home or away
- 22:52Speaker 4: whatever it is, like they take all of that into accounts.
- 22:55Speaker 4: So really, you got two of the better teams last
- 22:59Speaker 4: year in this say see, you know, just getting a
- 23:01Speaker 4: little bit fortunate here on this on this schedule. And
- 23:04Speaker 4: so I mean, good for them, but you know, they
- 23:06Speaker 4: can't really control everything that happens on their schedule or
- 23:10Speaker 4: how people are ranking them on a strength of schedules.
- 23:12Speaker 2: You take, yeah, your SEC schedules obviously, just it's given
- 23:16Speaker 2: to you and you take it. And if you're fortunate
- 23:19Speaker 2: enough to be Texas or Tennessee, or if you're not
- 23:23Speaker 2: fortunate enough in your Oklahoma, which we'll get to them,
- 23:26Speaker 2: but so we go Texas Tennessee. Then Missouri's at fourteen.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Old Miss comes in at number thirteen, the Auburn Tigers
- 23:34Speaker 2: come in at number twelve, and then the LSU Tigers.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Average opponent win total is seven point two, and it
- 23:42Speaker 2: says here lshu's conference slate will be slightly tougher than
- 23:45Speaker 2: it was last year due to the locations of the
- 23:47Speaker 2: Old Miss and Alabama games being flipped, but it's still manageable.
- 23:51Speaker 2: LSU gets Texas, A and M and Florida n bat
- 23:54Speaker 2: rouge both games the Tigers loss last year. I mean, yeah,
- 23:58Speaker 2: you're going to Old Miss, You're going to Alabama. Ole
- 24:02Speaker 2: Miss is not as difficult of a place to play,
- 24:05Speaker 2: in my opinion than A and M or Florida. I
- 24:08Speaker 2: think both those venues obviously are going to be more
- 24:10Speaker 2: difficult to play. In Alabama, it's usually up for the
- 24:14Speaker 2: LSU game, but still like A and M in Florida,
- 24:17Speaker 2: those are not easy road trips. And I'm not even
- 24:19Speaker 2: just talking about the strength of that team. I'm talking
- 24:22Speaker 2: about just the atmosphere and the venue that you play in.
- 24:25Speaker 5: So it's kind of doesn't. It doesn't really matter. Those
- 24:28Speaker 5: are the types of venues.
- 24:29Speaker 4: It doesn't really matter how good the team is because
- 24:33Speaker 4: those places are always going to be tough, and both
- 24:36Speaker 4: those teams with LSU coming in are always going to
- 24:38Speaker 4: look at it as a some sort of a rivalry.
- 24:41Speaker 4: You know, probably I guess I would say Florida more
- 24:44Speaker 4: than A and M, but they seem kind of they
- 24:47Speaker 4: seem kind of equal as far as what the other
- 24:49Speaker 4: opponent thinks about LSU as a rivalry.
- 24:52Speaker 5: But those are tough plays.
- 24:53Speaker 4: I mean, the Swamp it is, so, I mean, it's
- 24:55Speaker 4: it doesn't matter if Florida's a five win team or
- 24:58Speaker 4: a ten win team that place, this is going to
- 25:00Speaker 4: be tough to walk in there, and LSU to beat
- 25:02Speaker 4: them always. Yeah, maybe not in the last ten years
- 25:06Speaker 4: or so because our record's pretty good against them, but
- 25:09Speaker 4: still tough place to play. And you know we've gone
- 25:11Speaker 4: into Kyle Field multiple times and you know, been a
- 25:16Speaker 4: tough game for us. So I don't know, those ones
- 25:20Speaker 4: are always for us are going to be tough.
- 25:23Speaker 2: To me, it's more like sure where you're going, But
- 25:25Speaker 2: it's also like where it's at in the schedule. How
- 25:27Speaker 2: many games are butted up against each other. Is it
- 25:30Speaker 2: spread out more than anything, more than where you're playing
- 25:34Speaker 2: and who you're playing Because you've played in the SEC,
- 25:36Speaker 2: you're not going to have, oftentimes just an easy path
- 25:41Speaker 2: to get to the finish line. And so for LSU,
- 25:44Speaker 2: the thing that is going to be different. You do
- 25:46Speaker 2: face Florida on September thirteenth. That is always an October game.
- 25:51Speaker 2: It is now the third game of the year. So
- 25:54Speaker 2: you go at Clemson, Louisianattack at home, Florida at home.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Then you get set Southeastern at home before you go
- 26:01Speaker 2: to Old Miss, so you get them at home. But
- 26:06Speaker 2: I would say that's a tough stretch. I don't know
- 26:09Speaker 2: if I'd go Clemson Tech Florida, and no disrespect to
- 26:14Speaker 2: Louisiana Tech, you're just sandwiched in between those games because
- 26:17Speaker 2: you get Old Miss at the end of that before
- 26:19Speaker 2: you get a bye week. Then after the bye week,
- 26:22Speaker 2: it's South Carolina at home, at Vanderbilt, Texas A and
- 26:26Speaker 2: m at home. That's a pretty tough three game stretch.
- 26:29Speaker 2: I'd probably go there with the toughest one because then
- 26:32Speaker 2: you get a bye week. Then it's at Bama Arkansas
- 26:34Speaker 2: at home, Western Kentucky at Oklahoma. But I would say
- 26:37Speaker 2: South Carolina at Vandy and A and M might be
- 26:40Speaker 2: your toughest stretch. So yes, the opponents and going on
- 26:44Speaker 2: the road, there is some difficulty to the schedule, but
- 26:48Speaker 2: you get a lot of good games at home right now.
- 26:51Speaker 2: I don't you know at Vanderbilt, who knows Diego Pavia.
- 26:55Speaker 2: We saw teams go in there last year, Alabama come
- 26:58Speaker 2: out with a lost, Texas had to fight to the
- 27:00Speaker 2: very end against Vandy at home. So those aren't guarantees.
- 27:04Speaker 2: But the opponents are tough, but you you kind of
- 27:08Speaker 2: got a favorable draw of how many of those heavy
- 27:12Speaker 2: hitters you have in a row, because right now, I
- 27:16Speaker 2: don't think because of a bye week between Ole Miss
- 27:19Speaker 2: and South Carolina, you're not going to face two preseason
- 27:23Speaker 2: top twenty five opponents back to back.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm trying to think about how I feel about
- 27:32Speaker 4: the stance here. Is a stretch more difficult because you're
- 27:36Speaker 4: facing good teams back to back to back? Is it
- 27:40Speaker 4: more difficult than you know, facing maybe a couple better
- 27:44Speaker 4: teams with like the lower schools Sandwich in between, and
- 27:50Speaker 4: you know my feelings against scheduling smaller schools on the
- 27:54Speaker 4: schedule anyway, I don't love it, you know, I don't
- 27:58Speaker 4: think or it will or should ever really change.
- 28:00Speaker 5: I just don't love it as a fan and like
- 28:02Speaker 5: as a viewer of football.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Right, But I you know, as a player, I think
- 28:06Speaker 4: I was I prefer the game stacked up on each other,
- 28:09Speaker 4: one by one by one, because you know, even even
- 28:12Speaker 4: though you're playing the Southeastern or Louisiana Tech, it doesn't
- 28:15Speaker 4: mean you're getting extra work.
- 28:17Speaker 5: In for the next team.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Yeah, you're just trying.
- 28:19Speaker 4: You're just you're making the assumption that it's going to
- 28:22Speaker 4: be a less stressful game, it's going to be lower
- 28:25Speaker 4: impact on the body, which that might have a little bit,
- 28:29Speaker 4: but it's not like it's they're going out and playing
- 28:31Speaker 4: two hand touch or anything. I mean, it's it's the
- 28:34Speaker 4: same situation. You're just not quite as whether you admit
- 28:38Speaker 4: it or not, or subconsciously or even aware of it,
- 28:41Speaker 4: the preparations a little bit less. You're not playing as
- 28:44Speaker 4: hard in those games as you do for the big schools,
- 28:47Speaker 4: and it just it's just the human nature. That's just
- 28:50Speaker 4: the nature of the beast, all right. So I think
- 28:53Speaker 4: I would rather the games stacked up on each other
- 28:55Speaker 4: because every week you're focused, you're focusing on an opponent.
- 28:58Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I get it.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Maybe they hit a little bit harder, maybe, but I
- 29:02Speaker 4: mean it's still college football whether you play it, whether
- 29:05Speaker 4: you play at South Carolina, you play it was a tech.
- 29:06Speaker 5: I mean, you're still a college football athlete that's going
- 29:08Speaker 5: to hit pretty harder. You know.
- 29:10Speaker 4: It's you just might not have the skills that somebody
- 29:13Speaker 4: else has, so like the speed or the hand on
- 29:17Speaker 4: whatever it is. But they're still big, strong and fast.
- 29:19Speaker 4: I mean we're still hitting, we're still taking. Our bodies
- 29:21Speaker 4: are still taking and beaten. Right, So I think I
- 29:25Speaker 4: would prefer that. So I would say that stretch, I
- 29:28Speaker 4: would say the first stretch of the game to me,
- 29:32Speaker 4: or the first stretch of the year, excuse.
- 29:34Speaker 2: At Clemson, Louisiana Tech at home, Florida at home, Southeastern
- 29:37Speaker 2: at home, and at Ole Miss.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that stretch to me is probably the
- 29:42Speaker 4: most important, especially over that middle where you're what we say,
- 29:46Speaker 4: South Carolina.
- 29:48Speaker 2: South Carolina, Vandy and A and M Vandy being on
- 29:50Speaker 2: the road against the Commodoors in Nashville.
- 29:55Speaker 4: I think just once you get into the SEC play
- 29:57Speaker 4: and you're playing good teams every single we you tend
- 29:58Speaker 4: to get in a rhythm, right, It's just more of
- 30:01Speaker 4: a rhythm of all right, this is sec play. We're
- 30:05Speaker 4: in a rhythm. We got a good team every single week.
- 30:06Speaker 4: This is the preparation. Blah blah blah. I think with
- 30:10Speaker 4: the smaller schools, the preparation is a little bit different.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Louisian Tech game is going to be packed. I don't
- 30:17Speaker 2: know if y'all have talk to people like everybody I
- 30:19Speaker 2: talked to when they start talking about football season. I
- 30:22Speaker 2: guess because it is the first home game you start
- 30:24Speaker 2: off on the road. Everybody I know is like, yeah,
- 30:26Speaker 2: we'll be there for the Tech game. We'll be there
- 30:28Speaker 2: for the Tech game. You think that same referee that
- 30:33Speaker 2: was backpedaling and tried to beat me into the end
- 30:35Speaker 2: zones going to be calling the game again.
- 30:37Speaker 5: He's been training, no doubt, he's being looked.
- 30:40Speaker 2: His hips. Good God, did we.
- 30:44Speaker 5: Ever get like a backstory on that guy? What your like?
- 30:46Speaker 5: How many years did you play in the league?
- 30:48Speaker 2: I don't know, but we need to.
- 30:50Speaker 5: I do was legit?
- 30:51Speaker 2: The transition he made was it was pro.
- 30:54Speaker 4: It is so great when you you see the club,
- 30:56Speaker 4: you see him every year in every sport, but it's
- 31:00Speaker 4: especially football when there's like a long play, a breakoff run,
- 31:03Speaker 4: like you got that one referee that's like, yep, this
- 31:06Speaker 4: is what I've been training for.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Watch this boys. A lot of those guys are former
- 31:11Speaker 2: former players. One of my teammates, Antoine Cason, played at Arizona,
- 31:16Speaker 2: actually played against US here. JaMarcus threw a pick to him.
- 31:19Speaker 2: It's like the only thing Arizona did that day. But
- 31:22Speaker 2: he was our first round pick in San Diego and
- 31:24Speaker 2: he had a long career eight nine years in the NFL,
- 31:27Speaker 2: but he became a referee and he started like in
- 31:29Speaker 2: high school, in college and now he's I think this
- 31:32Speaker 2: might be his first year where he's getting some NFL actions.
- 31:34Speaker 5: Awesome. Yeah, came up through the ranks, yep.
- 31:38Speaker 4: But yeah, it's it's so funny when you see those
- 31:39Speaker 4: guys because he got some like you'll have an NFL
- 31:43Speaker 4: punk returner, like just streaking down the sideline. He got
- 31:45Speaker 4: a referee running side by side with him, like you know,
- 31:48Speaker 4: he's not at that point, he's not looking for anything,
- 31:50Speaker 4: he's not looking for any penalties. He's just he's just
- 31:52Speaker 4: trying to show out on TV.
- 31:53Speaker 5: On camera watched this kids.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Yes, all right, we'll take a break. We'll get more
- 31:58Speaker 2: into some SEC scheduling. Who has the hardest schedule in
- 32:02Speaker 2: the SEC You've probably already guessed, but we'll break it
- 32:04Speaker 2: all down when we come back on OTB off the bench,
- 32:09Speaker 2: all right. Go to trash rangers dot com. Trash rangers

- 33:27Speaker 2: Ay, Matt Flynn, what's up? You know who turns thirty
- 33:30Speaker 2: nine today?
- 33:32Speaker 5: Ye?
- 33:34Speaker 2: Demetrious Bird.
- 33:36Speaker 5: All right, the bird.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Let's go open of our show. Demetrious Bird.
- 33:42Speaker 5: Yeah, de Bird, it is on our show every single
- 33:45Speaker 5: day he is.
- 33:46Speaker 2: Welcomes the people to the show. Shout out, de Bird.
- 33:49Speaker 5: What a good call that shout out?
- 33:50Speaker 2: A uh, great moment in Elsie football history. A chaotic moment,
- 33:56Speaker 2: but great for some chaotic on the sidelines call him
- 34:01Speaker 2: in the huddle.
- 34:01Speaker 4: I like to say there was ninety two thousand nervous
- 34:04Speaker 4: people and there was eleven people that weren't.
- 34:07Speaker 5: We really weren't that Maybe we should have been.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I don't know. You know, so like you'll see a movie,
- 34:17Speaker 2: all right, and stay with me. You'll see a movie
- 34:19Speaker 2: and it'll be a sports movie. For the love of
- 34:21Speaker 2: the games that does a really nice job. I'm sure
- 34:23Speaker 2: have y'all all seen that with Kevin Costner, Billy Chapel Yeah,
- 34:27Speaker 2: so like everything kind of slows down. He's kind of
- 34:29Speaker 2: talking to himself a little bit. Like sometimes you don't
- 34:33Speaker 2: think that happens in a sport like football, where it's
- 34:35Speaker 2: so fast and fast and fast and you're in the huddle,
- 34:38Speaker 2: but there's a couple of moments that that does happen.
- 34:41Speaker 2: It's like everything does feel like it's slow motion a
- 34:43Speaker 2: little bit. You feel like the clock's not running as fast.
- 34:47Speaker 2: And oddly enough, that was one of those moments for
- 34:50Speaker 2: me at least, because the clock's ticking. Now we knew
- 34:54Speaker 2: we had Colet David and Colt was a really really
- 34:56Speaker 2: good college kicker, but we wanted to go finish it
- 35:00Speaker 2: on offense. And you know, as the play comes in,
- 35:04Speaker 2: it felt like nobody was in a rush. I don't
- 35:06Speaker 2: think it was that. But then when we kind of
- 35:10Speaker 2: realized what was going on and we realized what defense
- 35:14Speaker 2: must chant was going to play like, we felt really
- 35:16Speaker 2: good about the situation. Yeah, I mean you seemed calm.
- 35:21Speaker 2: I don't know if you were.
- 35:25Speaker 4: Yeah, so you called a play and I didn't know
- 35:31Speaker 4: we were gonna get into this, But what a great
- 35:32Speaker 4: what a cool it is, right.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Yeah, shout out by the way, birthday cond antagonists because
- 35:39Speaker 2: of Demetrious.
- 35:39Speaker 4: Birth happy birthday. What a legend. What a great addition
- 35:44Speaker 4: to our team too, by the way, good.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Lord yeah Juco, right, yeah yeah.
- 35:49Speaker 4: So we get to the line of scrimmage what they
- 35:51Speaker 4: called the play. And let me tell you, like we have,
- 35:54Speaker 4: we spend so many meeting and practice hours that we
- 35:56Speaker 4: work on every situation. We go through every thing that
- 36:01Speaker 4: can happen, that could happen, that might happen, that probably
- 36:05Speaker 4: won't happen. You go through all of that, you practice
- 36:08Speaker 4: most of it. You can't practice against like every single situation,
- 36:11Speaker 4: like every single defense they get throat or whatever. But
- 36:14Speaker 4: you practice the plays, you practice the time management, you
- 36:17Speaker 4: practice the you know air quote like special plays, like
- 36:20Speaker 4: plays that might never happen. So there's always a period
- 36:24Speaker 4: or two periods in a game week that you practice
- 36:27Speaker 4: those weird things like like church plays or Hail Mary's
- 36:32Speaker 4: or you know, we call him Jesse James stand up
- 36:34Speaker 4: plays with defense like stands up the runner doesn't tackle them,
- 36:37Speaker 4: so a couple extra seconds run, like just weird situational football.
- 36:42Speaker 4: But this is one of those it's like, hey, we've
- 36:45Speaker 4: worked on it before, so we're gonna call a play
- 36:47Speaker 4: that's base that's a seven man protection, it's a base play.
- 36:51Speaker 5: It's simple. We're just gonna run go routes. We're just
- 36:53Speaker 5: gonna run, run deep.
- 36:54Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know what, We're gonna call this in
- 36:56Speaker 4: a situation at the end of the game where the
- 36:57Speaker 4: clock might be running. It may or may not be running,
- 37:00Speaker 4: but if it is running, you're gonna get up to
- 37:03Speaker 4: a lot of scrimmage and if they give you a shot,
- 37:06Speaker 4: take it. Yeah, they probably won't say time. They'll probably
- 37:11Speaker 4: in that situation, they'll probably line up.
- 37:14Speaker 2: But there's a.
- 37:14Speaker 4: Chance that if you're on the fringe field goal range,
- 37:18Speaker 4: and that's where we were. Yeah, So I mean it's
- 37:20Speaker 4: not like a gimme field goal. No, I mean, it's
- 37:22Speaker 4: certainly not like.
- 37:22Speaker 2: An over forty five. It'd have been over forty.
- 37:24Speaker 4: Yeah, anywhere, but anywhere around that forty yards. So if
- 37:27Speaker 4: they're in that, if they're in that range anywhere between
- 37:29Speaker 4: like a thirty five and a forty five yard field goal,
- 37:32Speaker 4: always have to kind of be alert in the back
- 37:34Speaker 4: of your head that in a two minute situation or
- 37:38Speaker 4: an into the game situation, be ready for pressure. Why
- 37:41Speaker 4: because the defense wants to sack you and put you
- 37:44Speaker 4: out a field goal range.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it'd been right. I just looked it'd have been
- 37:47Speaker 2: a forty yard field goal.
- 37:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:48Speaker 4: So every time that, every time that we run two minutes,
- 37:51Speaker 4: it's always like, once you cross the fifty, be alert
- 37:55Speaker 4: for pressure because they're going to try to get.
- 37:57Speaker 5: You out a field goal range.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:58Speaker 4: So we knew that there was chance, but in reality
- 38:02Speaker 4: we thought they're probably gonna play some sort of too
- 38:04Speaker 4: high safety, not going to give up the deep ball.
- 38:07Speaker 5: Yeah, blah blah blah. But we've worked on it before.
- 38:09Speaker 4: If they line up at man dea man, take a
- 38:11Speaker 4: shot because the play is only going to last from
- 38:15Speaker 4: snap to throwt it's only gonnalast about four seconds, four
- 38:18Speaker 4: and a half seconds, half five sent whatever it is.
- 38:22Speaker 4: So I'm damned if we didn't line up and they're
- 38:25Speaker 4: single high safety press man, which why are you pressing
- 38:29Speaker 4: on this even if you want a pressure? No reason
- 38:31Speaker 4: to press. I guess he's got He's a little bit
- 38:32Speaker 4: off on d bird, but still.
- 38:36Speaker 5: There he is.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Bo birthday ball, Let's.
- 38:38Speaker 5: Go birthday boy, Happy birthday.
- 38:41Speaker 4: Now we've talked about this about like your role in
- 38:43Speaker 4: that that play, which was obviously uber crucial. I think
- 38:48Speaker 4: you and Sean Jordan switched right.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Well, no, so we would have been we were supposed
- 38:52Speaker 2: to be an eye formation because it was less. Why
- 38:54Speaker 2: not we said split it, yeah, and you were like, hey,
- 38:56Speaker 2: split back, So Paul's are right there today. We so
- 38:59Speaker 2: we had never like this wasn't in the playbook. Yeah,
- 39:02Speaker 2: we did not have split backs, me and Sean Jordan,
- 39:05Speaker 2: Sean being the fullback, I'm the tailback here in this situation,
- 39:08Speaker 2: So Sean's supposed to be in front of me in
- 39:10Speaker 2: a three point stance. I'm supposed to be like seven
- 39:12Speaker 2: and a half toes at seven and a half. But
- 39:14Speaker 2: because Flynn saw pressure, he knew it was coming, he
- 39:16Speaker 2: told us to split. So this this formation did not
- 39:20Speaker 2: exist in our playbook. But if I was at seven
- 39:23Speaker 2: yards Sean was at five, Sean would have had an
- 39:24Speaker 2: easy time. He'd have been okay picking up that blitzer
- 39:27Speaker 2: off of the right side. But I would have had
- 39:29Speaker 2: some trouble because the guy that I had to pick
- 39:31Speaker 2: up was coming straight through the A gap. So if
- 39:34Speaker 2: he's coming right through the A gap, I'm at seven
- 39:36Speaker 2: and a half, I've got to try to go around Flynn,
- 39:39Speaker 2: not knock matt off his drop back or kind of
- 39:42Speaker 2: getting his eyesight to pick up this blitzing linebacker and
- 39:45Speaker 2: it had just been a tough block.
- 39:47Speaker 4: Yeah, And so it was one of those situations that
- 39:50Speaker 4: you like this reason you work on it because you
- 39:52Speaker 4: expect things. So like, because we knew of the area
- 39:55Speaker 4: of the field we were, we could expect maybe they
- 39:57Speaker 4: pressure us to knock us out of field guard range.
- 39:59Speaker 5: Maybe they don't.
- 40:00Speaker 4: But let's split it because I know him under center.
- 40:02Speaker 4: And there's nothing worse than having a free rusher at
- 40:05Speaker 4: you in a back having to like go around your
- 40:07Speaker 4: back foot.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Because you know you can flip each other.
- 40:09Speaker 4: It happens in practice, your feet clip, something weird could
- 40:12Speaker 4: happen and you won't avoid it. So split black, Uh,
- 40:16Speaker 4: split backs. Nobody thinks we're gonna run it. So we're
- 40:19Speaker 4: not trying to like we're not putting on a facade.
- 40:21Speaker 4: We're not running this, we're not running power. Yeah, because
- 40:27Speaker 4: there's nothing more like uh. Alone on an island as
- 40:31Speaker 4: a quarterback when you're under under center and there's a
- 40:34Speaker 4: linebacker that is in the A gap or the B
- 40:38Speaker 4: gap looking right at your face like we're making eye
- 40:40Speaker 4: contact and usually he's like frothing at the mouth because
- 40:43Speaker 4: defensive people are animals. And you know that he's unblocked.
- 40:47Speaker 4: You know that the guard in the center are just
- 40:50Speaker 4: gonna like pretend he's not even there. They're just gonna
- 40:52Speaker 4: go there always and block their guys. And you know
- 40:54Speaker 4: the back has to have your back, yeah.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Because you're gonna part the red sea. And then it
- 40:58Speaker 2: gives the linebacker a three way go and if I'm
- 41:01Speaker 2: trying to avoid you get back into the rush lane.
- 41:04Speaker 2: It becomes a lot of different ways I can lose.
- 41:08Speaker 5: Yeah, and you stood up. You punched him right in
- 41:10Speaker 5: the face with your face.
- 41:13Speaker 2: It's the only move I have.
- 41:18Speaker 5: So there you go. Y'all were nervous.
- 41:20Speaker 2: We weren't not nervous at all.
- 41:23Speaker 5: You know who was nervous, it will must Champ.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Yeah he was. I still can't believe he brought pressure
- 41:31Speaker 2: the the corners didn't like immediately bail and try to
- 41:35Speaker 2: keep everything in front of them. Shocking.
- 41:37Speaker 5: I remember that so much. Shame.
- 41:39Speaker 4: Obviously was part of an incredible run and incredible coaching
- 41:42Speaker 4: staff here at l s U.
- 41:44Speaker 5: A guy that.
- 41:45Speaker 4: Recruited both of us out of high school. And then
- 41:47Speaker 4: of course he makes his coaching journey, and just like
- 41:49Speaker 4: all coaches do, they're gonna be at multiple different places,
- 41:52Speaker 4: especially at assistant coaches that have, you know, want to
- 41:54Speaker 4: be head coaches. And so he's the defensive coordinator there
- 41:58Speaker 4: at Auburn that year and No. Seven and so were
- 42:00Speaker 4: I remember playing, Uh there was a third down or
- 42:03Speaker 4: something and I scramble out, run up the sideline, get
- 42:06Speaker 4: the first down and you know, run out of bounds
- 42:09Speaker 4: for hit or whatever. And I see you know that
- 42:11Speaker 4: the Classic it was almost the same thing, Remember the
- 42:13Speaker 4: the clip of saving and must Champ getting Linel turned.
- 42:17Speaker 4: It was almost the same thing, but the other way.
- 42:20Speaker 4: Yelling at his guys because I like scrambled out and
- 42:23Speaker 4: he's I'm not gonna say the F words, but he
- 42:25Speaker 4: was basically saying, break his legs, break his legs, break
- 42:30Speaker 4: his m F legs.
- 42:33Speaker 5: If he tries to run.
- 42:35Speaker 4: Will Will And I was like, hey, Bud, where you
- 42:38Speaker 4: to go to sit in my living room when I
- 42:39Speaker 4: was a high school kid, telling him.
- 42:40Speaker 2: That you told Alvin and Ruth all those sweet nothings.
- 42:44Speaker 5: Now you're trying to break my legs.

- 44:27Speaker 2: I will say so I was like an off returner
- 44:31Speaker 2: for that game because they did a lot of squib kicks.
- 44:34Speaker 2: And so when Auburn took the lead, I remember going
- 44:36Speaker 2: over there because it looked like they were they had
- 44:38Speaker 2: a good chance to win the game before the last
- 44:40Speaker 2: drive and well Muss Shampoo again was here. He looks

- 45:12Speaker 2: Clear's days like f you hester f U, but says
- 45:16Speaker 2: it like that that mean that like that looked that
- 45:19Speaker 2: he was. It was like, I was like, what happened
- 45:21Speaker 2: to the wing?
- 45:22Speaker 5: Well, you didn't have like a lot of respect.
- 45:25Speaker 4: Sometimes in that in sports world you can say that
- 45:28Speaker 4: in an endearing way.
- 45:29Speaker 5: It was not at least a little respect.
- 45:31Speaker 2: He was not very happy.
- 45:35Speaker 5: Did you wink at him?
- 45:36Speaker 3: Uh?
- 45:36Speaker 2: No, I just was laughing at him, and I told
- 45:38Speaker 2: him that story when I covered Georgia's national championship game
- 45:42Speaker 2: in l A against TCU, I was like, hey, do
- 45:45Speaker 2: you remember that. I didn't do that.
