Speaker 1: I just want to remind you what we've been looking

Speaker 1: at all this week, which is this great passage in

Speaker 1: Matthew chapter 25 in the Bible. And we start each

Speaker 1: day with this little devotional spot on the radio just

Speaker 1: to help you focus your mind on the things of God.

Speaker 1: God wants to be a part of your life, and

Speaker 1: this passage that we've been looking at all this week

Speaker 1: is a reminder.

Speaker 1: That our lives and each day in our lives and

Speaker 1: all the things in our lives.

Speaker 1: Have been entrusted to us by God, not for us

Speaker 1: to do whatever we want with them, but for us

Speaker 1: to live our lives in a way that really makes

Speaker 1: a difference, that really counts, that

Speaker 1: Expresses God's values and God's heart, God's care for the

Speaker 1: people around us, so that people see that God loves

Speaker 1: them and is involved in their lives by our involvement

Speaker 1: in their lives in the name of Jesus Christ. And

Speaker 1: so I encourage you.

Speaker 1: Be sure to focus your life today on the people

Speaker 1: around you. Who can you help today? Who can you

Speaker 1: give an encouraging word to today or maybe send a

Speaker 1: little note to that'll brighten their day a little bit?

Speaker 1: And who can you speak to in a way that's

Speaker 1: going to honour God today in your life? These are

Speaker 1: the things we should be thinking about every day.

Speaker 1: Our relationship with God is not about religious activity. That's

Speaker 1: what turns so many people off when all our Christianity is,

Speaker 1: is just religious activity and our lives are worthless. No,

Speaker 1: what God wants is for us to live lives that

Speaker 1: really demonstrate the difference He makes in our lives.

Speaker 1: And so Jesus told this story we've been looking at

Speaker 1: all week, and I just want to go back and

Speaker 1: actually read the story with you again today.

Speaker 1: He said, be on the alert then, for you do

Speaker 1: not know the day nor the hour.

Speaker 1: That is when he's returning to this world to hold

Speaker 1: us accountable.

Speaker 1: He says, for it is just like a man about

Speaker 1: to go on a journey who called his own servants

Speaker 1: and entrusted his possessions to them.

Speaker 1: To one he gave 5 talents, and a talent is

Speaker 1: a weight of gold, a large amount of money.

Speaker 1: To another 2 talents and to another 1, each according

Speaker 1: to his own ability.

Speaker 1: And God doesn't expect from you what some great famous

Speaker 1: Christian has been able to do with their lives. He

Speaker 1: expects from you what you are able to do.

Speaker 1: Don't worry about what you can't do for God. Worry

Speaker 1: about what you can do for Him.

Speaker 1: And he went on his journey. Immediately. The one who

Speaker 1: had received the 5 talents went and traded with them

Speaker 1: and gained 5 more talents in the same manner. The

Speaker 1: one who had received the 2 talents gained 2 more.

Speaker 1: But he who received the one talent went away and

Speaker 1: dug in the ground and hid his master's money.

Speaker 1: After a long time, the master of those slaves came

Speaker 1: and settled accounts with them, and you know it's been

Speaker 1: a long time, but Jesus is still returning to this

Speaker 1: world one day, and He will hold us accountable for

Speaker 1: our lives.

Speaker 1: It's not a negative thing. It gives our lives great

Speaker 1: potential thinking about how we can use them for God.

Speaker 1: And the one who had received the 5 talents came

Speaker 1: up and brought 5 more talents, saying, Master, you entrusted

Speaker 1: 5 talents of gold to me. See, I have gained

Speaker 1: 5 more talents. The master was really excited, just like

Speaker 1: our Lord will be when he comes back. Well done,

Speaker 1: good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things.

Speaker 1: I will put you in charge of many things. Enter

Speaker 1: into the joy of your master.

Speaker 1: The one who had received the 2 talents came up

Speaker 1: and said, Master, you entrusted me with 2 talents, and see,

Speaker 1: I've gained 2 more talents. And the master said to him,

Speaker 1: Well done. See, he wasn't disappointed. He only had 2

Speaker 1: instead of 5. No, he's excited because he's used what

Speaker 1: God gave him in a meaningful way in his life.

Speaker 1: Enter into the joy of your master, and the one

Speaker 1: who'd received one came to the master, and he told him.

Speaker 1: Look, I knew you were a hard man. I knew

Speaker 1: I'd be accountable to you. I didn't want to lose

Speaker 1: the money, so I buried it in the ground, and

Speaker 1: with him. He didn't want him to just bury it

Speaker 1: in the ground. He wanted him to get it out

Speaker 1: and use it in a way that would be meaningful

Speaker 1: to his master. So think about your life.

Speaker 1: Are you living in a way that you know will

Speaker 1: bring God pleasure and you will be excited to talk

Speaker 1: to God about your life when He returns at the
4:59
Speaker 1: end and if not do something about it.
