- 0:09Speaker 1: college ball. We're gonna start with Week four recap. Indiana
- 0:15Speaker 1: just throttled Illinois. The refs played a big role in
- 0:19Speaker 1: Oklahoma and Auburn cuse the Orangeman unbelievable against Clemson. Yeah,
- 0:28Speaker 1: the plus you know, twelve and a half. I liked it,
- 0:31Speaker 1: but I didn't think that was gonna happen. Michigan got
- 0:34Speaker 1: back to the roots. Miami beat down Florida in a
- 0:39Speaker 1: grinded out type game. Speaking of blowouts, Texas Tech the
- 0:45Speaker 1: Red Raiders wow. In some other upsets, interesting matchups and whatnot,
- 0:50Speaker 1: we will recap first, of course. Then Week five is
- 0:55Speaker 1: completely loaded. Number three Penn State post number six Oregon.
- 1:00Speaker 1: You got number five Georgia against what number seven Alabama?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Lsu ol miss, I mean it is USC Illinois. They
- 1:09Speaker 1: get back to back home games Texas A and m Auburn.
- 1:14Speaker 1: It's fact. We're definitely gonna preview predict against the spread upsets,
- 1:20Speaker 1: and of course we always end with the again or
- 1:23Speaker 1: with the crafty crappy pick of the week. If this

- 2:28Speaker 1: TV Okay, So man oh man, First of all, how
- 2:32Speaker 1: you doing, Marshall?
- 2:33Speaker 2: I like your jersey there, Marcello my favorite ever soccer player,
- 2:39Speaker 2: so I had to. It was jersey day for school.
- 2:41Speaker 2: It was supposed to be today, but it's also supposed
- 2:43Speaker 2: to be tomorrow, so I'm wearing another jersey tomorrow and
- 2:45Speaker 2: Western Day Wednesdays. That means where the dromo Wednesday, So
- 2:47Speaker 2: I might wear jerseys the whole week of school.
- 2:50Speaker 1: And that wraps up the soccer talk. I'm skiddy, No,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I like it.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, thank you. Sure it was a good week.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I did have have a little like a team bonding
- 3:02Speaker 2: for a cross country team this past Saturday. So I
- 3:06Speaker 2: was away from the television a little bit, but thankfully
- 3:08Speaker 2: YouTube or my screaming when I was able to watch
- 3:11Speaker 2: them sports on the phone. So it was a good saturday.
- 3:15Speaker 2: It's not it shouldn't match quite this Saturday, but man,
- 3:18Speaker 2: yeah it was fun. And I will say I should
- 3:22Speaker 2: have texted you earlier. Did you get Did you drive
- 3:24Speaker 2: me on the un t bed? No?
- 3:26Speaker 1: I did not. I was up pretty late and then
- 3:33Speaker 1: up up late and then up early kind of so
- 3:36Speaker 1: I did not.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I did not.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I saw it, but I didn't. You know. It's funny
- 3:41Speaker 1: because they were up like twenty one to seven or
- 3:43Speaker 1: something like that. Yes, when I saw it, and I
- 3:45Speaker 1: was like, oh okay, damn. You know, yeah I saw
- 3:48Speaker 1: how it turned out. It may have had a little
- 3:50Speaker 1: bit more drama.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Oh there felt like yeah, the heartbeat was getting pumped
- 3:55Speaker 2: up a little bit, yeah, because they won, but it
- 3:58Speaker 2: wasn't pretty. And then, and I guess from my quick
- 4:01Speaker 2: daily rant. As I've said before, I always like listen
- 4:05Speaker 2: to that Chris Vernon, he's like a Memphis sport guy.
- 4:08Speaker 2: And they obviously were hyping up the Memphis Arkansas game,
- 4:11Speaker 2: which was a lot of fun. Yeah, that was one
- 4:13Speaker 2: of the bigger wins Memphis has had. Obviously, Arkansas is
- 4:16Speaker 2: the legit team. They're maybe not top tier SEC, but
- 4:19Speaker 2: they're for sure a slid program. And that was a
- 4:22Speaker 2: game that literally came down. It's like a minute twenty
- 4:24Speaker 2: left when Memphis forts the fumbles. So Memphis Arkansas was fun.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Just I guess I'm just always a little bit of
- 4:32Speaker 2: biased Memphis, but a fun football game, had a little
- 4:35Speaker 2: bit of everything. Had some ref controversy too, like we'll
- 4:38Speaker 2: get to a Loklahoma and Auburn, but they made some
- 4:40Speaker 2: credit calls too. So shout out to Memphis thirty two
- 4:44Speaker 2: and thirty thirty one win and for them, they're one
- 4:48Speaker 2: of those Now, Chris, that could be one of those,
- 4:50Speaker 2: like I know last week talking about outside schools, maybe
- 4:52Speaker 2: they're one of those top tier programs that might run
- 4:56Speaker 2: the table that could sneak in the back door to
- 4:57Speaker 2: the tournament. Uh, like we had last here, you know
- 5:00Speaker 2: with some like Boise talks. So maybe Memphis might be
- 5:03Speaker 2: the school that could sneak in the term evil or
- 5:05Speaker 2: not top to your conference. They have a chance to
- 5:08Speaker 2: make it now.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and that plus number I liked as well. I
- 5:12Speaker 1: took it plus seven and a half. I think it
- 5:14Speaker 1: was right something.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Like yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I took that. I didn't necessarily think that was gonna happen,
- 5:20Speaker 1: but especially how it happened with the fumble, and sure
- 5:23Speaker 1: they were just gonna kind of run it out. And
- 5:27Speaker 1: that quarterback got hurt too, didn't he for Arkansas? I
- 5:31Speaker 1: think they got hurt.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Think Taylor Green. Yeah, so I think he hit it.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Oh no, no, no, sorry it was Texas, Texas what
- 5:39Speaker 1: I'm thinking?
- 5:40Speaker 2: Oh okay, okay, yeah, I think I think he played
- 5:42Speaker 2: the whole game. Okay, yeah he did.
- 5:44Speaker 1: He did make some he didn't play as well though.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I will say that he made some some kind of
- 5:49Speaker 1: key mistakes or whatever. But still, like you said, a
- 5:52Speaker 1: team to both of them, kind of a team to
- 5:54Speaker 1: be reckoned with, but especially uh, you know, Memphis as
- 5:58Speaker 1: far as how you sum that up. You know, there's
- 6:00Speaker 1: a lot to get into. There's a lot to get
- 6:02Speaker 1: into when it comes to week five. But I mean
- 6:05Speaker 1: the Indiana Hoosiers, Jesus, holy shit, it's just thirty five
- 6:14Speaker 1: points in the first half. Forty nine carries for three
- 6:18Speaker 1: to twelve. When you run the ball for forty nine,
- 6:21Speaker 1: that tends to bring down your average per carry. Good Lord, right,
- 6:26Speaker 1: just because it just because you're doing it so much.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Not this time six point four of splip six point
- 6:34Speaker 1: four forty nine carries three hundred and twelve yards. And
- 6:38Speaker 1: by the way, Fernando Mendoza the col transfer, you know,
- 6:44Speaker 1: five touchdowns through the air. Nice little twenty one to
- 6:48Speaker 1: twenty three with all the sacks and everything like that,
- 6:53Speaker 1: twenty carries two yards For Illinois. I mean, they they
- 6:59Speaker 1: it's like playing with a chip, an extra chip on
- 7:02Speaker 1: their shoulder this year because the two big games that
- 7:06Speaker 1: they you know, got beat in even though at times
- 7:11Speaker 1: they played it close, even that Ohose State game, you
- 7:14Speaker 1: could you could make an argument of us close for
- 7:15Speaker 1: a while until it'll.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Score first, right, Yeah, I think they did.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah, And there was a there was a punk return
- 7:21Speaker 1: and you know they were they were like being respectable,
- 7:25Speaker 1: and then it got out of hand and then Notre
- 7:28Speaker 1: Dame they just couldn't move the damn ball. It just
- 7:30Speaker 1: looked it kind of felt like, oh so you're just
- 7:32Speaker 1: racking up the points against mediocre teams. But I mean,
- 7:37Speaker 1: that coach, that staff, this program surreal that their NLI
- 7:43Speaker 1: is for real, Like they're not going anywhere. Man, They're
- 7:46Speaker 1: not going anywhere at all. I did not see that
- 7:49Speaker 1: coming that plus Uh you know, I bought it to
- 7:52Speaker 1: six and a half. I could have bought that ship,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you know until plus thirty five. It still wouldn't have
- 7:57Speaker 1: done it.
- 7:59Speaker 2: So I'm gonna give you a true your question this year.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I know I normally do the tea every year, but
- 8:02Speaker 2: this one's I think a very fair one. Do you
- 8:06Speaker 2: remember the dual threat Indiana quarterback when you and I
- 8:10Speaker 2: were growing up that wants to become a Pittsburgh Steeler?
- 8:12Speaker 1: Yes, ran all there you go are, hey.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I remember I remember watching him play, and that was
- 8:17Speaker 2: probably the last time I was ever in Indiana football.
- 8:19Speaker 2: But because that's probably been twenty years uh to.
- 8:23Speaker 1: He tortured my Gophers. I remember him.
- 8:25Speaker 2: He was fun to watch that I was on a
- 8:27Speaker 2: shot at you. That was just a fair trivia question
- 8:30Speaker 2: where for once Christens say we're ship. Yeah, once I
- 8:34Speaker 2: get a trivia question to get ridiculed.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Well, i'll tell you what you did. See me look
- 8:38Speaker 1: to the side like this fucking guy? What is wrong
- 8:42Speaker 1: with this guy? He just we talked before the show
- 8:45Speaker 1: starts every time. But no, it was a good question.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I respect that he so yeah, from like nineteen sixty
- 8:53Speaker 1: three or anything like that, you know, I appreciate it.
- 8:56Speaker 1: He was, though, hell a.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Player in my opinion, this is the biggest win of
- 9:01Speaker 2: the year so far. Now again you can maybe are
- 9:03Speaker 2: you like George Tennessee made something like whatever, But this
- 9:06Speaker 2: is the best name one of the year so far
- 9:08Speaker 2: because this was the game that's supposed to be close,
- 9:11Speaker 2: Illinois so far ahead earned their ranking relatively Obviously it
- 9:15Speaker 2: looks different now, but this was Hey. Last year, some
- 9:20Speaker 2: of y'all might have called us a flute because we
- 9:22Speaker 2: had an easier schedule per se. But okay, we're gonna
- 9:25Speaker 2: prove it again this year that we're a really good team,
- 9:28Speaker 2: So shout out clearly. Like you said, Chris, he made
- 9:32Speaker 2: a great point. He's developed the system now could have
- 9:35Speaker 2: win the national title. I don't know, probably not, but
- 9:38Speaker 2: you have a team now that at least at least
- 9:40Speaker 2: as a B plus level team that you can't just
- 9:43Speaker 2: walk the doors. We're gonna walk through them. No. Now again,
- 9:46Speaker 2: they lost Ohio State. Okay, they won the freaking title.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Notre Dame. They made like you know, so you lost
- 9:52Speaker 2: two teams who were like legit teams last year. So yea, yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 2: this was you know, they this was a really impressive
- 9:59Speaker 2: they lost. Yeah, and bea Lama Illinois coach, like, I
- 10:03Speaker 2: think he has a little bit of a tough dude
- 10:05Speaker 2: to like, but he has an old line and a
- 10:08Speaker 2: d line. It's certainly really strong. So you literally went
- 10:11Speaker 2: to the ground and said, dude, we don't care about
- 10:13Speaker 2: your old liner deler. We're gonna run the ball down
- 10:15Speaker 2: your butt. Like you know, it's just like they've always
- 10:18Speaker 2: started to call it in football, humpest thing to do
- 10:21Speaker 2: is when you know a team's gonna run and stop
- 10:23Speaker 2: and you can't do it, that's like putting your foot
- 10:25Speaker 2: down for a win. That's what they did. So, hey,
- 10:27Speaker 2: hats up to Indiana. You know their schedule this year,
- 10:31Speaker 2: Chris is a little more difficult than last year. Yeah, have.
- 10:34Speaker 2: They'll get to prove it, yes, because they still got
- 10:37Speaker 2: at Ore again coming up, and this week they're at
- 10:40Speaker 2: Iowa and you got also Penn State there. So it's
- 10:43Speaker 2: not a cakewalk like last year's schedule. You have three
- 10:46Speaker 2: tough ponents. But from that win last last Saturday, that
- 10:49Speaker 2: was a very impressive to me, best one of the
- 10:52Speaker 2: years so far in college football.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yeah, i'd have to say too, because yeah, you know,
- 10:58Speaker 1: Illinois is probably were ranked or whatever, but like how
- 11:05Speaker 1: you do it? You know, and yeah, yeah we did it.
- 11:08Speaker 1: They came in with secondary, with guys set in the
- 11:11Speaker 1: secondary down right, no doubt about it. And during the
- 11:15Speaker 1: game they did lose a lot of bodies, but still
- 11:17Speaker 1: it would have been if they were fully healthy, it
- 11:20Speaker 1: probably still would have been like forty, you know what
- 11:22Speaker 1: I mean. So yeah, but yeah, you're right, just the
- 11:25Speaker 1: this the dominant fashion. I was shocked, Like I said,
- 11:28Speaker 1: I could have I could have bought thirty five points
- 11:32Speaker 1: and it wouldn't have done a damn thing. I would
- 11:35Speaker 1: have been like minus you know, thirteen hundred or something
- 11:39Speaker 1: like that, you know what I mean. I mean, It's
- 11:40Speaker 1: just like, yeah, that was crazy. I did not see
- 11:43Speaker 1: that coming. So I knowed. You know the plus numbers.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I did good with this plus number. I did not
- 11:54Speaker 1: do good with the backup all we mentioned and it
- 11:57Speaker 1: and it ended on a damn safety because of the half.
- 12:02Speaker 1: It was six and a half. Yep. But Oklahoma Auburn.
- 12:13Speaker 1: But tire was was just pretty good. He was okay.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Arnold is looking much better in this system. But he
- 12:22Speaker 1: did miss throws. He definitely missthrows. But when you look
- 12:27Speaker 1: at I'm not a guy who likes to blame the
- 12:30Speaker 1: refs pers se, you know what I mean.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Yes, you've never been that guy for basketball or football.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but when it's so like it was. It was
- 12:38Speaker 1: bad in general, but it was skewed to the Sooners
- 12:42Speaker 1: and not just some home cooking like it really was
- 12:47Speaker 1: the scoop and score thing at the start. Did the
- 12:49Speaker 1: guy have position? It looked like he did. It didn't
- 12:52Speaker 1: tuck the ball, though, but it looked like he was
- 12:55Speaker 1: catching and running and that I mean, you know, that
- 12:58Speaker 1: could have made a big difference. But that's at least
- 13:01Speaker 1: the bang bang play, you know whatever. I'm not really
- 13:03Speaker 1: worried about that. But they probably had three pass interference
- 13:10Speaker 1: and one time the ref got in the way or
- 13:13Speaker 1: in bad position where he had to kind of his
- 13:16Speaker 1: peripheral was kind of looking where he was running and
- 13:19Speaker 1: looking at the play, so he missed. He totally missed
- 13:21Speaker 1: the easy pass interference in the end zone, so I
- 13:26Speaker 1: think that and then there was also a play that
- 13:30Speaker 1: is supposed to draw a penalty now and it didn't
- 13:34Speaker 1: in Oklahoma got away with it. So uh, Michigan. I
- 13:37Speaker 1: never felt like they were gonna win when they faced Oklahoma,
- 13:40Speaker 1: but they were in it, but some of it was
- 13:43Speaker 1: just airs on Oklahoma side. Whereas this game, I think
- 13:46Speaker 1: they played again at a neutral site. I would pick Auburn,
- 13:50Speaker 1: but they did miss a field goal. And remember we
- 13:54Speaker 1: said that they're probably gonna contain the run and they're
- 13:56Speaker 1: gonna make you throw. And you know, Coleman is a stud,
- 14:01Speaker 1: but he should have had another touchdown and probably another
- 14:04Speaker 1: two penalties drawn on him because you know Arnold did
- 14:10Speaker 1: overthrow him when he was white not white. Well he
- 14:12Speaker 1: was open, Yeah, he's pretty much wide opening the end
- 14:14Speaker 1: zone and he just missed him. That Coleman's a stud.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I think it would be a first rounder, but and
- 14:21Speaker 1: we'll see if Arnold Jackson. Arnold is looking pretty damn good,
- 14:25Speaker 1: better than I thought, but we'll see if he keeps advancing.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Like I said, John Mattier didn't have his best game,
- 14:32Speaker 1: but he did what they needed to do. They didn't run.
- 14:35Speaker 1: They were twenty six or thirty two. Twenty six carries
- 14:38Speaker 1: thirty two yards, you know, but that defense like ten sacks.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Some of them were on Arnold for holding the ball.
- 14:46Speaker 1: But man, that Oklahoma is for real. But so is
- 14:51Speaker 1: their schedule, you know what I mean. So that that's
- 14:53Speaker 1: that's what I gotta see because this game, like I said,
- 14:57Speaker 1: on a neutral side, I would pick Auburn. But overall,
- 15:01Speaker 1: still a good performance and it's nice, you know, for
- 15:04Speaker 1: the head coach that a lot of people wanted to
- 15:06Speaker 1: run out of town. They finally got their quarterback. They
- 15:10Speaker 1: got the system that the quarterback's from in Washington State.
- 15:14Speaker 1: And they're gonna get better too. They're gonna get better
- 15:16Speaker 1: on offense as the year goes on because he's he's
- 15:20Speaker 1: new there, you know, so he's still fresh. So I
- 15:23Speaker 1: think they can they can get better. We'll see about
- 15:25Speaker 1: their schedule though, you know.
- 15:27Speaker 2: So I thought you broke down the game really nicely,
- 15:30Speaker 2: So I'm gonna skip that part. Now that's gonna read
- 15:32Speaker 2: you their remaining games for the year. So Oklahoma does
- 15:36Speaker 2: have they play kemp States at home, easy dub for
- 15:40Speaker 2: the remainder seven games to finish their year. This is
- 15:44Speaker 2: Oklahoma schedule, and they'll be five and zero at South Carolina. Yes,
- 15:50Speaker 2: we're off to a rough start, but that is not
- 15:52Speaker 2: a joke for statem to go to at all. And
- 15:54Speaker 2: if Lenora Sellers is on difficult So at South Carolina,
- 15:58Speaker 2: host Old Miss, go to Tennessee, go to Bama, I'll
- 16:03Speaker 2: be there, host Maszoo, host LSU Jesus. So your last
- 16:11Speaker 2: five games zero all bust ranked teams, like.
- 16:16Speaker 1: I mean, and that's why I I didn't believe in
- 16:20Speaker 1: him being a Heisman number one guy just because they're
- 16:23Speaker 1: gonna take some l's.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 1: And I also it's not like you know, eight and
- 16:29Speaker 1: four Baylor or some other guys that have been pretty
- 16:32Speaker 1: highly ranked where he's putting up those crazy numbers. It's
- 16:37Speaker 1: just gonna be tough. But you know, they if you
- 16:39Speaker 1: have a defense, we know that travels.
- 16:41Speaker 2: So now to me, if I think if they go
- 16:45Speaker 2: nine and three, you got put them in the playoffs
- 16:48Speaker 2: like or they'll they'll they'll have a chance.
- 16:50Speaker 1: As long as it's not like Ken State or something,
- 16:52Speaker 1: you know what I mean?
- 16:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right.
- 16:55Speaker 1: You know, obviously we have to see when we get
- 16:58Speaker 1: there there could be another you know. But yeah, I agree.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I think when we start talking nine and threes, you know,
- 17:06Speaker 1: so how many how many games you say they have
- 17:08Speaker 1: seven or eight?
- 17:10Speaker 2: So well, so right right now there there four to
- 17:13Speaker 2: h they'll be five station and game finished with of
- 17:17Speaker 2: your last seven, six of them are ranked in South Carolina?
- 17:22Speaker 2: Assu Carol? Is that rate? So you have your last
- 17:24Speaker 2: seven games, everyone's drinked except at so Card and that's
- 17:28Speaker 2: a difficult place to play out.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so it does matter how those teams finish too, obviously,
- 17:35Speaker 1: so we got to put that in the equation. But yeah,
- 17:38Speaker 1: I agree that that would be so they have to
- 17:41Speaker 1: go five and three. You know that that's not the
- 17:44Speaker 1: craziest ship.
- 17:46Speaker 2: If you go nine and three, all of your strength,
- 17:48Speaker 2: the victory would be so damn impressed, it'd be really
- 17:50Speaker 2: hard to keep you.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Out as long as they remain strength, you know, strong
- 17:54Speaker 1: wins in strong losses too.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Yeah, true, going out to the gym.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, exactly. That's a good point, yep. And the
- 18:02Speaker 1: team is still ranked pretty high and you didn't get
- 18:05Speaker 1: your ass kick that. That's a good combo.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Yeah, And so they those last they finished year at
- 18:10Speaker 2: hosting Miszoo and LSU. Those could be really important to
- 18:13Speaker 2: answer playoff implications for them, Amazo and LSU because Maszoo
- 18:18Speaker 2: has like the easiest schedule of the top two teams
- 18:20Speaker 2: in the SEC this year. So that you know, and
- 18:23Speaker 2: I don't think they're why I can't standard coach say
- 18:25Speaker 2: that chat for the other day, but that could be
- 18:28Speaker 2: a huge game for Oklahoma and Miszoo on the twenty second.
- 18:32Speaker 1: That danks the week and instead of just rivalry week, right,
- 18:36Speaker 1: which yeah, we do lose some arrival week. I'm not
- 18:38Speaker 1: I'm not saying we don't. But what do we get now?
- 18:42Speaker 1: Those are playoff elimination games. Yes, and we saw last
- 18:47Speaker 1: year what happened Bama in those playoff games. True, you
- 18:52Speaker 1: know we're talking about Oklahoma. Well there you go, like
- 18:54Speaker 1: they beat him, you know, so, and that adds to
- 18:58Speaker 1: rivalry week. You know, if you if your season, you
- 19:01Speaker 1: got six wins or whatever, and you're gonna be seven
- 19:03Speaker 1: and five, if you beat your rival, you knock them
- 19:05Speaker 1: out of the playoffs. I mean that that's just as
- 19:08Speaker 1: good as anything. Here's another shocker in my mind anyway,
- 19:14Speaker 1: and I assume yours as well. Utah at home is tough.
- 19:20Speaker 1: They just generally are tough. Texas Tech had that, you know,
- 19:26Speaker 1: had that great offseason, and but they had to prove it.
- 19:30Speaker 1: They had to prove it on the field. And it
- 19:33Speaker 1: was thirteen to ten, right, thirteen to ten, plenty of
- 19:37Speaker 1: game left and then touchdown, touchdown, touchdown. You're like, it
- 19:42Speaker 1: was just they they closed so well. It was thirteen
- 19:46Speaker 1: to three, then thirteen to ten. But I mean, wow,
- 19:50Speaker 1: I didn't see that coming whatsoever. I really did another
- 19:54Speaker 1: one I didn't see coming thirty four to ten.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I'll be okay. So my what I texted my group
- 20:01Speaker 2: chat of my my diehard gambling issue people in my
- 20:05Speaker 2: group chat was hey, is Texas Tech for real? Like, Hey,
- 20:09Speaker 2: they bought a team with some nice money. Oh oh money,
- 20:11Speaker 2: I'm guessing you know, and are they gonna perform? And
- 20:14Speaker 2: you're going into what I would say was for sure
- 20:17Speaker 2: a top three coach on the western side of the
- 20:21Speaker 2: country in Whittingham, that dude, I know probably sec pans
- 20:24Speaker 2: will ever say that, but you've legit had Utah do
- 20:27Speaker 2: it ever? Since Serve Myer left like he's an awesome coach.
- 20:31Speaker 2: So to walk in there and do what you did
- 20:34Speaker 2: to Utah, I think that makes a statement obviously that
- 20:37Speaker 2: it unraveled at the end. So maybe you're like, you know,
- 20:41Speaker 2: the numbers may overshadow a little bit out close to
- 20:43Speaker 2: the game it was, But if you're Texas Tech, hey,
- 20:46Speaker 2: your goal is to make the playoffs this year. You
- 20:48Speaker 2: really did kind of recruit a team and you are
- 20:51Speaker 2: trying to make yourself a team that is not just
- 20:55Speaker 2: like the fun seven and five Red Raiders are gonna
- 20:58Speaker 2: score sixty five points a game but then give up
- 21:00Speaker 2: seventy some weeks. So I think this was a big
- 21:02Speaker 2: step for them, Chris, just because hey, this year, we
- 21:05Speaker 2: want to have a chance to make the playoffs, So
- 21:07Speaker 2: win the Big twelve and we're not just like trying
- 21:09Speaker 2: to improve, you know, like move up a step. So
- 21:13Speaker 2: that's a credible win. Like what do you have? In
- 21:15Speaker 2: my opinion? And this is just me, it's like it's
- 21:19Speaker 2: top three for a coach in college football. You maybe
- 21:22Speaker 2: don't hear about that much, but for what he's done
- 21:23Speaker 2: with the team, he has to me, he's incredible and
- 21:26Speaker 2: through each of that team is just shows that, hey,
- 21:29Speaker 2: tex Tech is on the map, and the Legit could
- 21:32Speaker 2: be a very big thread in the Big Twelve and
- 21:34Speaker 2: could easily win the Big Twelve this year at least
- 21:36Speaker 2: need to be considered to do it.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and we're gonna see if, like if the Big
- 21:43Speaker 1: Twelve is as wide open as we thought it was.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Last year was bananas, it was, but at the start
- 21:50Speaker 1: it didn't feel that way. True, You're right, because remember
- 21:54Speaker 1: Asu who winning it had two early lots, you know,
- 21:57Speaker 1: they had two early losses, and it didn't it heated up,
- 22:01Speaker 1: you know, it started to heat up, and as we
- 22:04Speaker 1: went on it was like, oh, a third team, a
- 22:07Speaker 1: fourth team, a fifth team, you know. So let's see
- 22:10Speaker 1: if that happens again, or will this team you know, separate?
- 22:16Speaker 1: That is what we're gonna find out sometimes. Yeah, I
- 22:21Speaker 1: mean I feel like year in and year out or
- 22:24Speaker 1: every handful of years, it's gonna be like it was
- 22:26Speaker 1: last year. Let's see if it's like this this year.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Maybe it won't be, but then next year it will be,
- 22:31Speaker 1: you know, So we'll we'll find out. It's tough to
- 22:34Speaker 1: be as competitive until the end when you legit have
- 22:37Speaker 1: four teams that could get in the conference final, but
- 22:41Speaker 1: we'll see. You know, it's it's a little too early.
- 22:43Speaker 1: We're still in September. Okay, let's get to We're get
- 22:48Speaker 1: we get We're gonna get to Clemson. We're gonna get
- 22:50Speaker 1: to Miami. We're gonna get some other teams. But Michigan
- 22:53Speaker 1: in Nebraska, you know, Nebraska, are they ever going to
- 22:59Speaker 1: turn the corner all this stuff? Right? What is it
- 23:05Speaker 1: twenty two games or twenty five games or I don't know,
- 23:08Speaker 1: eight twenty eight games against top twenty five right, Yes,
- 23:13Speaker 1: they've lost twenty eight straight, Jame. I mean, wow, I'm
- 23:20Speaker 1: at home. You know, you had Bud Crawford in the building,
- 23:25Speaker 1: and when you look at you know, the quarterback who
- 23:29Speaker 1: wants to mimic if his stats are very misleading. I
- 23:34Speaker 1: could see fantasy people going, oh, dude, he's a stud.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Yeah he's okay. Man, he made some good a couple
- 23:39Speaker 1: of really good those, but yeah, I don't know, man.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Their line started getting worn down. And what I liked
- 23:47Speaker 1: about Michigan is they got to that run game and
- 23:53Speaker 1: they ran Bryce Underwood a little bit more. Now he's
- 23:57Speaker 1: a true freshman. You don't want to beat him the
- 24:00Speaker 1: hell as a true freshman. Right, yeah, but there's no
- 24:04Speaker 1: way you can't have a running system with the running quarterback.
- 24:09Speaker 1: You know, with him, you have to do it. You
- 24:12Speaker 1: have to do it because he's that good and he
- 24:16Speaker 1: does give you those big dude that can turn the
- 24:21Speaker 1: corner and just you're just like, oh my god, you
- 24:24Speaker 1: know so and in Justice Hayes the transfer from Alabama
- 24:27Speaker 1: seventeen buck forty nine eight point eight a clip overall
- 24:31Speaker 1: thirty one carries two ninety nine point four on the ground.
- 24:36Speaker 1: They just couldn't do it in the Cornerhouscers. You know,
- 24:39Speaker 1: they can try to make it interesting. They did, you know,
- 24:42Speaker 1: they scored seventeen in the second and then got shut
- 24:45Speaker 1: out in the first and third and then get some
- 24:48Speaker 1: stuff late. But Michigan, you know, heading more towards what
- 24:53Speaker 1: we saw for years under Harbaugh, where it's it's ground
- 24:58Speaker 1: and pound, it's where you down. And so I thought
- 25:02Speaker 1: it was a really good win in in a tightly
- 25:07Speaker 1: matched game. So yeah, I really liked what I saw there,
- 25:11Speaker 1: and they definitely like I like how, you know, versus
- 25:16Speaker 1: even lesser opponents, they have had the young fellow throw
- 25:19Speaker 1: more just because why not. But also let's not be
- 25:25Speaker 1: afraid to run him because he's he's just too talented,
- 25:29Speaker 1: not too.
- 25:31Speaker 2: So. One of the things that my first basketball coach
- 25:34Speaker 2: I met the school match so eight years ago, she
- 25:36Speaker 2: told me this. She said, it's just as hard to
- 25:39Speaker 2: get rid of bad habits as this great winning habits
- 25:42Speaker 2: as a coach. And I think that really emphasizes the
- 25:46Speaker 2: points where like, dude, twenty eight times it is it
- 25:50Speaker 2: literally it's a bad habit, like that team has had
- 25:53Speaker 2: so many games where it's in the fourth quarter and
- 25:55Speaker 2: you're just like, ah, shit, here we go again. But Chris,
- 26:00Speaker 2: they've g go against each now twenty seven times, and
- 26:05Speaker 2: they're not a joke for program. They're not like some
- 26:07Speaker 2: Tier two like Max school like Nebraska is still a
- 26:11Speaker 2: good football team. But I really do think it is
- 26:13Speaker 2: that freaking mindset to like a shit fourth quarter recals
- 26:18Speaker 2: game like it, it's just as hard to have a
- 26:21Speaker 2: winning team. It is hard to get lose a bad team.
- 26:23Speaker 2: And and I think she said that to me, and
- 26:26Speaker 2: it never it never really thought. I was like, that's
- 26:28Speaker 2: actually kind of true. And I think that's really a
- 26:31Speaker 2: prize to the court Huskers, and I mean, you got
- 26:34Speaker 2: the most loyals fan base in the world. Again, you
- 26:36Speaker 2: still get good recruits, I know, kind of in the
- 26:38Speaker 2: middle of nowhere, but like, dude, twenty eight in a row,
- 26:42Speaker 2: like something's got changed. And I know they've had three
- 26:46Speaker 2: different coaches over that time fram maybe four possibly, But dude,
- 26:52Speaker 2: that's I mean, I don't know that. I don't know
- 26:53Speaker 2: what to do like that. That's just yeah, you gotta
- 26:57Speaker 2: find a way to change the mindset or find a
- 26:58Speaker 2: way to get that one because maybe if you get
- 27:00Speaker 2: that one ranked team win, then you might rattle off
- 27:03Speaker 2: four or five in a row, possibly, you know, or
- 27:05Speaker 2: at least two, but at least Hey, we staffed the
- 27:08Speaker 2: streak like let's go, you know, but until the day happens,
- 27:11Speaker 2: you're gonna keep getting l's and I mean and and
- 27:14Speaker 2: and to give Michigan's quarterback credit, I think you took
- 27:18Speaker 2: probably a lot of a lot of heat over that
- 27:20Speaker 2: Oklahoma loss. You know, I'm not I don't know, but
- 27:22Speaker 2: I'm sure if you were kind of giving him some ship. Uh,
- 27:25Speaker 2: you're still out there grinding heat again. Super athletic. Maybe
- 27:28Speaker 2: isn't a pocket pastor yet, but the dude has talent.
- 27:31Speaker 2: It's just got to keep keep working on his craft.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Mm hmm. Yeah, and so and then you know, my
- 27:39Speaker 1: guess is next year there they'll hit the portal even
- 27:41Speaker 1: harder for a wide receiver. But you know, it can
- 27:45Speaker 1: be tough. You may just have to overpay because you know,
- 27:50Speaker 1: they know receivers are like, hey, but am I how
- 27:53Speaker 1: many targets? Am I going to get a game? You know?
- 27:56Speaker 1: So yeah, well we'll see. I will say there's two
- 27:58Speaker 1: things I also heard on the cover three podcasts that
- 28:04Speaker 1: now the head coach, the current head coach to Nebraska,
- 28:07Speaker 1: if you date it back to Baylor in Nebraska, he's
- 28:11Speaker 1: oh of eighteen versus top twenty five teams, Matt Ruy, yep, wow,
- 28:17Speaker 1: I had no clue.
- 28:19Speaker 2: And Temple you probably had teams in Temple that were
- 28:22Speaker 2: ranked for opponents, right.
- 28:25Speaker 1: But Baylor, yeah, you know wow. So so it's once
- 28:31Speaker 1: again it's kind of funny who we exploit and make
- 28:36Speaker 1: fun of, and that coach can't coach and this and that,
- 28:39Speaker 1: But then this stuff goes under the radar. You know,
- 28:42Speaker 1: I had no clue about that stat you.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Know, but I think James Franklin's two and fifteen versus
- 28:47Speaker 2: top like ten rate teams or something like that. So
- 28:50Speaker 2: that's the key stat.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Yep, top ten even this is top twenty five, you know,
- 28:55Speaker 1: and this is AP which we know is shaky, you know.
- 28:59Speaker 1: So yeah, just suddenly keep in mind, I'm not trying
- 29:02Speaker 1: to rip dude or anything like that. It just it
- 29:04Speaker 1: threw me off. I really, I really didn't didn't realize
- 29:09Speaker 1: that at all. I had no clue speaking to having
- 29:14Speaker 1: no clue another plus number that kicked for me twelve
- 29:17Speaker 1: and a half. But I didn't see Syracuse doing what
- 29:25Speaker 1: they did to Clemson. I mean club Nick threw the
- 29:28Speaker 1: ball sixty times, so you know, once again fantasy stats, right,
- 29:32Speaker 1: three sixty three, three touchdowns. When you throw the ball
- 29:35Speaker 1: sixty times, three sixty three is nice. And the thing
- 29:39Speaker 1: is they had you know, Randall a buck thirty like
- 29:42Speaker 1: he did run the ball like I mean, I just can't.
- 29:51Speaker 1: They're zero and two in the ACC. You can say
- 29:55Speaker 1: that the ACC maybe better than people thought or whatever,
- 29:58Speaker 1: but it's still not the the power, you know, a
- 30:01Speaker 1: top two conference or whatever. I mean, I I think
- 30:07Speaker 1: he's lost the locker room, you know, and that that
- 30:10Speaker 1: rant he had about you know, I could go someplace
- 30:13Speaker 1: else and this and that. If you're gonna get rid
- 30:15Speaker 1: of me, I'll go someplace else. And you know, the
- 30:19Speaker 1: bar sets so high because of the elite level that
- 30:23Speaker 1: they were at, and so he can't be mad at
- 30:27Speaker 1: like too mad anyway. That people are expecting certain things
- 30:32Speaker 1: because that's what it is, you know. So yeah, they're
- 30:34Speaker 1: gonna look at Clemson differently, but shots out to Cus.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Like I said, I felt good about that twelve and
- 30:39Speaker 1: a half or no way he was seventeen and a half. Yeah, yeah,
- 30:42Speaker 1: I f had seventeen and a half. I felt great
- 30:44Speaker 1: about it. But I mean, wow, shocked, dude, completely shocked.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I'm not gonna sit anty tears dabble loss. That actually
- 30:54Speaker 2: makes me really happy. But yeah that when I was
- 30:58Speaker 2: checking that score, I was like, damn uh. And I
- 31:03Speaker 2: mean this pretty much cancels out your playoff hopes, even
- 31:06Speaker 2: if they're on the table, Like I mean, yeah, even
- 31:09Speaker 2: if you win the I don't know the AC you'll
- 31:15Speaker 2: get in the play Yeah, so their chances aren't dead,
- 31:19Speaker 2: you're right, but when in the ACC would still take
- 31:23Speaker 2: kind of a revival from that team. Uh So this
- 31:29Speaker 2: is a guy that likes to coach his own way,
- 31:31Speaker 2: and you know, I'm all of those people, I'm I'm different.
- 31:33Speaker 2: I have my own strategies, and like, you know, everyone
- 31:35Speaker 2: likes to be conformed. Uh, but I I do think
- 31:39Speaker 2: he kind of missed the ball and the conforming to
- 31:41Speaker 2: the transfer portal. At first, he was kind of anti
- 31:43Speaker 2: against that, and then he did some kind of a
- 31:45Speaker 2: drop off of production of his wide receivers and offensive
- 31:48Speaker 2: skill players because you want to have his own kids,
- 31:50Speaker 2: which again you're allowed to, but when the rest teams
- 31:54Speaker 2: are passing you up and now you're losing games this year,
- 31:57Speaker 2: you shouldn't have. And I know he's become a little
- 31:58Speaker 2: more transfer friendly, Like dude, you know he's his own dude,
- 32:05Speaker 2: But I mean, you have three losses on the year
- 32:10Speaker 2: and in September not gonna give you that many great
- 32:15Speaker 2: chances truly avenge his losses either, Like yeah, yeah, I
- 32:17Speaker 2: mean I'm not saying they just a joke this year,
- 32:20Speaker 2: but like Clemson schedule, Like you can't just walk in
- 32:23Speaker 2: the door and be like we're gonna they don't have
- 32:25Speaker 2: an Oklahoma schedule, Chris or or Florida schedule. It's like
- 32:28Speaker 2: we just got five rank components who are like all
- 32:31Speaker 2: in top twenty. No, dude, you're you're probably done this year.
- 32:34Speaker 2: And hey Klupik was uh a top tier Heusman candidate
- 32:40Speaker 2: at the start of the year. So and and Clemson.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I heard from a lot different ESPN, Fox Sports. All
- 32:45Speaker 2: the people are like, hey, Clemson, Penn State got the
- 32:48Speaker 2: most talent coming back in the country. You look for
- 32:49Speaker 2: them in the national title. I'm gonna cross Clempson off
- 32:52Speaker 2: Penn State. We can't cross them off yet. I would.
- 32:54Speaker 2: I'd love to for Franklin. But hey, Clemson, you're you
- 32:58Speaker 2: dug yourself a big hole. And you know, maybe he has,
- 33:01Speaker 2: like you said, lost of the locker me. It does happen.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I mean, hell, you know every year Gary Patterson TCU,
- 33:09Speaker 2: he was there. It runs that run where you've done
- 33:14Speaker 2: a remarkable job and one year might maybe it's your
- 33:16Speaker 2: year and something's happened. I'm not assuming that, but it could.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Like everyone normally runs their course in college sports. I'm
- 33:22Speaker 2: not it's not even a shot, but it just happens.
- 33:25Speaker 2: So maybe this is a year where Dad was like, man,
- 33:28Speaker 2: I got it's time to move on. Or maybe next
- 33:30Speaker 2: year Dave was back to normal. But this is definitely
- 33:32Speaker 2: not the year for Clemson.
- 33:34Speaker 1: And they're gonna lose a lot of people.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Yes, because that transfer portal can bite you in the ass.
- 33:39Speaker 2: He might not want to use it, but they can
- 33:40Speaker 2: say deuces and really quick.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Yeah. And it's not even just you know, like people
- 33:46Speaker 1: wanting to go on the they're gonna be graduated, they're
- 33:48Speaker 1: gonna go pro.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:50Speaker 1: True, because they were able to bring so much of
- 33:52Speaker 1: this talent back. So yeah, if he doesn't hit the
- 33:57Speaker 1: portal this year, good look, Yeah, you're right, because remember, okay,
- 34:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it my way. Okay, Well this is
- 34:05Speaker 1: the year he had to produce because last two years
- 34:08Speaker 1: he's been developing these young guy he found a quarterback,
- 34:11Speaker 1: blah blah blah. Their offense. Look, this this offense looking
- 34:15Speaker 1: a lot more like two years ago than it was
- 34:17Speaker 1: last year. Correct, So yeah that man?
- 34:25Speaker 2: Wow?
- 34:27Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe yeah, right, maybe maybe it is that oh
- 34:30Speaker 1: you're gonna go someplace else, coach, What do you mean
- 34:33Speaker 1: like you know the way he said it. I don't know,
- 34:37Speaker 1: but but I understand. And a lot of us would
- 34:40Speaker 1: get defense, you know, defensive in this scenario. Easy to
- 34:45Speaker 1: sit there and laugh at a guy in a press conference,
- 34:47Speaker 1: but most the general population, most people would feel that way.
- 34:51Speaker 1: It's a knee jerk feeling. You know, you're like, dude,
- 34:53Speaker 1: I won two dance championships. I you know, I took
- 34:56Speaker 1: this I took this program to the highest level it
- 34:58Speaker 1: possibly could be. So, but yeah, like you said, you
- 35:02Speaker 1: gotta adapt. You know, you gotta adapt. And if he's
- 35:04Speaker 1: talking about going someplace else, okay, if you go someplace
- 35:07Speaker 1: else high profile, they're gonna watch you to hit the portal.
- 35:10Speaker 2: You know, yes, yes, for sure.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Because it don't matter where you're at, you gotta hit
- 35:15Speaker 1: the portal. That's just how it goes. Doesn't mean you
- 35:18Speaker 1: got to bring in forty guys every year or nothing,
- 35:20Speaker 1: but you know you gotta got an upgrade period, correct.
- 35:25Speaker 1: All right, let's move on to Miami in Florida. Now,
- 35:30Speaker 1: DJ Lagway didn't throw a bunch of silly passes, that's
- 35:36Speaker 1: for sure. I'll give him that. Maybe this would have
- 35:39Speaker 1: been blow out if you did. It was just a
- 35:44Speaker 1: black and blue type game. You know, you mentioned last
- 35:47Speaker 1: year or last year last week that Florida defense is legit,
- 35:53Speaker 1: and uh it came to play. You know, they came
- 35:56Speaker 1: to play, no doubt about it. They gave up some runs,
- 36:00Speaker 1: but you're gonna give up to run some run to Miami,
- 36:05Speaker 1: So they were in the game. They just they only
- 36:09Speaker 1: had one really good drive that was in the third quarter,
- 36:13Speaker 1: and then the kind of first quarter fourth quarter. If
- 36:16Speaker 1: you look at the yardage and the domination and the
- 36:18Speaker 1: points of me that's where Miami shined on offense. But
- 36:24Speaker 1: there was a play in the third and it was
- 36:26Speaker 1: raining a lot. You know, Beck had a couple passes
- 36:29Speaker 1: he wished he'd get back. I thought on this one
- 36:34Speaker 1: pick that the kid he probably Beck should have led
- 36:39Speaker 1: it more to the you know, to let him run
- 36:41Speaker 1: to it. But I do think the the Florida safety,
- 36:45Speaker 1: I think it was he he made a nice break
- 36:48Speaker 1: on it, but I still think he would have liked
- 36:50Speaker 1: that one back. Maybe a couple other ones too. We
- 36:52Speaker 1: did have a couple of drops too. It wasn't wet ball.
- 36:54Speaker 1: We had a little center exchange issue too, and snaps
- 36:58Speaker 1: and all that. But it was raining pretty hard. It
- 36:59Speaker 1: was like windy windy though it was just kind of downpouring,
- 37:03Speaker 1: not not sideways wind. So it was It's funny because
- 37:06Speaker 1: I think three out of the four games the Hurricanes
- 37:08Speaker 1: have played in rain, But I mean it's right there
- 37:11Speaker 1: in their name, I guess. But that third quarter they
- 37:16Speaker 1: could have been up twenty to zero. I don't know
- 37:19Speaker 1: if you saw the clip, but Treamar Brown, it's fourth
- 37:24Speaker 1: and one. He picks it up. His legs are still moving.
- 37:27Speaker 1: It's a pile of people, but nobody has like a
- 37:30Speaker 1: hold of them where they got him, and it's just
- 37:32Speaker 1: like they're just holding him, and it's like, all right,
- 37:34Speaker 1: blow the whistle. You know he's turned, he's churning the legs.
- 37:37Speaker 1: He breaks out. It would have been a fifty hour touchdown,
- 37:40Speaker 1: and the refs even said to Crystal Ball, we fucked
- 37:42Speaker 1: that up. Sorry, if you see the play, it's one
- 37:46Speaker 1: of those things where it looks weird, but there's no
- 37:50Speaker 1: way you can call him down. So it could have
- 37:52Speaker 1: been worse. It could have been twenty a zip. Not
- 37:54Speaker 1: to say they wouldn't have came right back and got
- 37:56Speaker 1: it to twenty to seven, but twenty to seven going
- 37:58Speaker 1: on the fourth quarter is different than thirteen to seven. Yes,
- 38:02Speaker 1: I did like how they closed it out, and there
- 38:05Speaker 1: was a little mic on the offensive coordinator. He told
- 38:08Speaker 1: he told him going to the fourth corner, we're gonna
- 38:09Speaker 1: wear these dudes down. That's what we're gonna do. So
- 38:12Speaker 1: just be prepared in a buckety four in the ground.
- 38:15Speaker 1: You add that fifty yards to that thing over two
- 38:18Speaker 1: hundred yards against that defense, which is legit. I gotta
- 38:21Speaker 1: give him credit is legit. But they had more rushing
- 38:25Speaker 1: yards than Florida had yards.
- 38:30Speaker 2: So I did a live bet that game when it
- 38:33Speaker 2: just started. I live bet under twenty three and a
- 38:36Speaker 2: half first half, and I felt pretty good. And I
- 38:38Speaker 2: showed that to my buddies and he's like, dude, that's
- 38:40Speaker 2: a low number. I was like, wait, just wait and see,
- 38:44Speaker 2: because that Florida defense is legit, and to get Miami
- 38:46Speaker 2: credit for defense is legit too.
- 38:50Speaker 1: I haven't noticed those two edges are nasty, dude.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Yeah, and you.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Literally in on you.
- 38:57Speaker 2: This wasn't this wasn't show prep Cam Street. This was
- 39:00Speaker 2: like legit. I was gonna say their dns got after
- 39:03Speaker 2: it because in that Notre Dame game, when I was
- 39:05Speaker 2: trying for them to help out and Chris Ball did
- 39:08Speaker 2: his fucking wait. You know what pissed me off is
- 39:10Speaker 2: Miami's got a really good defense and they decided to
- 39:12Speaker 2: go like prevan defense. It cost me a huge bet
- 39:15Speaker 2: Notre Dame, which they should have.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Never done that because.
- 39:18Speaker 2: When that Miami defense doesn't do prevan defense. Them edge
- 39:21Speaker 2: rushers are good. Yeah, I've now watched it and play
- 39:24Speaker 2: Notre Dame in Florida, who have decent old lines. And
- 39:27Speaker 2: when those boys decided to rush, dude, good luck. Like
- 39:30Speaker 2: you best have a fucking good right and left tackle
- 39:33Speaker 2: unless your quarterback's in trouble. Because that's two games now
- 39:36Speaker 2: versus good teams where they've got on their ass. So hey,
- 39:40Speaker 2: hats up to Miami, and I will say, hey, hats up.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Florida's defense helped me win a bet up until this beginning,
- 39:47Speaker 2: a lot of two touchdowns. That defense is fucking good.
- 39:50Speaker 2: It could be a top five in the country.
- 39:52Speaker 1: And they were forcing them to punt. They were, you know,
- 39:55Speaker 1: stopping them in the red zone. Yeah, I mean they
- 39:57Speaker 1: finally finally broke down at the end. But yeah, they're legit.
- 40:03Speaker 1: They're legit. I'll give them that.
- 40:05Speaker 2: You're right, but to me, if you're billion apier and
- 40:08Speaker 2: you're trying to save your ass, dude, and maybe legwise
- 40:12Speaker 2: is legit, but dude, your offense can't do anything. You
- 40:16Speaker 2: gotta find a way to muster or something. And I
- 40:19Speaker 2: know Chris that, like, they gotta have some talent like that.
- 40:22Speaker 2: The cupboard is an empty in Florida, they gotta have
- 40:24Speaker 2: some wide receivers at speed. But you gotta find a
- 40:27Speaker 2: way for your because if your offense can do a
- 40:30Speaker 2: couple of things, you're gonna be okay. And they got
- 40:33Speaker 2: Texas coming into town, right, Texas is a getting tanting
- 40:37Speaker 2: penalties for being cocky about being able of the worst
- 40:38Speaker 2: things in football because that's how Texas rolls. But hey,
- 40:42Speaker 2: they could win that game. But you you gotta figure
- 40:45Speaker 2: out a way help me get our offensive move a
- 40:46Speaker 2: little bit. Because if you give your defense a lead
- 40:49Speaker 2: and let them kind of go attack the quarterback or
- 40:51Speaker 2: do something like that, defense can win you some of
- 40:54Speaker 2: those top tier matches they have left in the year.
- 40:57Speaker 2: But you got you gotta at least score. You score
- 41:00Speaker 2: twenty points a game, Chris for Florida. You might win
- 41:02Speaker 2: a game even at versus top tier team, but when
- 41:04Speaker 2: you're scoring seven or thirteen, that defense gets tired. They
- 41:09Speaker 2: ain't immortal. So yeah, I'm not a Gator fan, but
- 41:13Speaker 2: I am watching that defense buster ass, and it's like, dude,
- 41:16Speaker 2: you have a top tier quarterback and you can't score
- 41:18Speaker 2: more than a touchdown a game. Like the math is
- 41:21Speaker 2: in Matham.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Yeah exactly that was that was that was that was.
- 41:30Speaker 1: That was an old school like big ten sec game,
- 41:33Speaker 1: just just you know, throwing bombs in Miami. I like
- 41:38Speaker 1: the way they've been able to They haven't even shown
- 41:41Speaker 1: a ton of their pass game just yet. Yeah, they
- 41:44Speaker 1: did a little bit against Notre Dame and you know,
- 41:47Speaker 1: to an extent, they did against South Florida too, But
- 41:51Speaker 1: you got to be able to win a couple of
- 41:52Speaker 1: different ways.
- 41:53Speaker 2: And but credit to your boys. You now beat Florida,
- 41:57Speaker 2: which is a good win, and you beat Notre Dame
- 41:59Speaker 2: like you know, I know are both at home, but
- 42:00Speaker 2: those are that's a quality resume so far, my friend.
- 42:03Speaker 1: They gotta buy and then they go against Florida State.
- 42:07Speaker 2: All that that'd be a fun one.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been a it's been an interesting start to
- 42:11Speaker 1: the season and it's gonna be like if they get
- 42:14Speaker 1: through it. You know, they have this weird buy that
- 42:18Speaker 1: we'll talk about it here in the future, but or
- 42:22Speaker 1: the back like it's just weird. You'll see what I'm
- 42:26Speaker 1: talking about. But yeah, well we'll see down the stretch
- 42:29Speaker 1: of this season if they if they're able to get
- 42:31Speaker 1: through Florida State at Florida State. It looks like they're
- 42:36Speaker 1: not gonna lose, but you know how that goes in college.
- 42:38Speaker 2: And you don't gotta play Belichick either, you're lucky dog.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Yeah right, But I did mention how Georgia Tech. You
- 42:48Speaker 1: know that they're kind of interesting and they did pull
- 42:52Speaker 1: the upset last year, but it is a little different
- 42:56Speaker 1: now too. And you know, the defense, you start to
- 43:00Speaker 1: see some shades of a good defense the first few
- 43:02Speaker 1: games last year, but then both of those edges got
- 43:05Speaker 1: hurt and then Front seven started, you know, falling apart.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Once that happened, the floodgates just open. So I will say, though,
- 43:16Speaker 1: they are gonna get tested because they got Florida State
- 43:19Speaker 1: in Louisville, so they are gonna get tested through the air,
- 43:23Speaker 1: and that's the secondary. We still got to see how
- 43:25Speaker 1: good that secondary is all the way. All right, let's
- 43:28Speaker 1: we're gonna cover two games that had two USC games
- 43:31Speaker 1: in them. Okay, USC SC South Carolina in Southern California
- 43:38Speaker 1: USC Michigan State, and I'm gonna let you lead on
- 43:41Speaker 1: both of these and then Miszoo getting it done twenty
- 43:45Speaker 1: nine to twenty with Sellers having a good game. Uh,
- 43:50Speaker 1: you know, Tigers did get the job done and shut
- 43:53Speaker 1: them out. I think it was eleven to zero to
- 43:56Speaker 1: close that that fourth quarter.
- 44:00Speaker 2: For the Missoi football team excluding the coaching staff. I
- 44:03Speaker 2: love those guys, hey that they just keep finding ways
- 44:06Speaker 2: to get good wins. Again. This is their year to
- 44:09Speaker 2: capitalize and make the playoffs because they have a relatively
- 44:12Speaker 2: very easy schedule. They have a couple of difficult games,
- 44:15Speaker 2: but compared to Oklahoma or Florida, this is Missoo's year
- 44:19Speaker 2: to rake. So defense stepped it up their ground game.
- 44:24Speaker 2: They absolutely murdered South Carolina on the ground, so Missoo
- 44:27Speaker 2: ran the ball really effectively, sellers what was back and
- 44:31Speaker 2: healthy and and honestly, I actually bet the overlay in
- 44:35Speaker 2: that game because I expected South Carolina to drive down
- 44:38Speaker 2: and tie it up or take a lead because that's
- 44:40Speaker 2: what Missouri's defense has done. But they stepped up even
- 44:44Speaker 2: more so that was a good win at home again. Again,
- 44:49Speaker 2: hats off to Missoi. That's my second favorite team behind USC.
- 44:53Speaker 2: But they got the job done. It wasn't, you know, pretty,
- 44:57Speaker 2: but they're they're winning games this year and they're doing
- 44:59Speaker 2: what they got to. If you're South Carolina, you gotta
- 45:01Speaker 2: be deflated because I really think people thought this was
- 45:04Speaker 2: their year to contend for a spot. Last year, they
- 45:07Speaker 2: were so incredibly close to making the playoffs. Now this year,
- 45:10Speaker 2: I thought might bounce back with a good team in
- 45:12Speaker 2: the same quarterback. And you're two and two now. So,
- 45:15Speaker 2: like we said for a couple of other teams in the show,
- 45:17Speaker 2: so part to day, you're you're you're losing ratio of
- 45:21Speaker 2: games left the lose year to make the playoffs for
- 45:23Speaker 2: getting swim and if you're South Carolina you still have a chance.
- 45:28Speaker 2: But that that's you're walking a tightrope like Dabbo and hey,
- 45:32Speaker 2: Lincoln Riley, keeping teams are supposed to be. I know
- 45:37Speaker 2: it's still early and you haven't had a huge impressive
- 45:40Speaker 2: win yet, but you are four and zero. The defense
- 45:44Speaker 2: appears to be slightly burned last year. You know, I
- 45:47Speaker 2: get Also, they'll get tested eventually soon. They got Illinois
- 45:50Speaker 2: coming up, so that's gonna be a test, and they're
- 45:51Speaker 2: you know, they're gonna be pissed off.
- 45:53Speaker 1: But hey, that's better than it was last year.
- 45:57Speaker 2: Yes, which is not saying a whole lot, but it's
- 45:59Speaker 2: a set in the right direction. So USC now has
- 46:02Speaker 2: Illinois Michigan, Notre Dame, Nebraska. Now we're gonna see, okay,
- 46:07Speaker 2: do we have a defense an play with top top
- 46:10Speaker 2: level opponents for the Big Ten? Like gonna say top tier,
- 46:12Speaker 2: but top level? And what type offense do we have?
- 46:16Speaker 2: Because last year and I still love Miller Moss. I
- 46:18Speaker 2: love him in Louisville. I thought he should have been
- 46:19Speaker 2: the quarterback, but Lincoln saw differently. But how's our new
- 46:22Speaker 2: quarterback guy doing playing a higher level team? Because Lincoln
- 46:26Speaker 2: always has the answers on offense, But how are we
- 46:28Speaker 2: gonna do on defenses here? So hats off to USC.
- 46:30Speaker 2: I like Ford to watching him play Illinois in five
- 46:34Speaker 2: days because that'll be a fun one. Uh Man, Chris
- 46:37Speaker 2: yet a great Saturday and Ryder Cup. I'm gonna be
- 46:40Speaker 2: in heaven all Saturdays. I told, I told the fiance, hey,
- 46:43Speaker 2: you can go see the girlfriends that I'm not leaving
- 46:45Speaker 2: me a house all day Saturday.
- 46:47Speaker 1: You know, I still think that the USC quarterbacks a
- 46:50Speaker 1: better fit for a system though, like a run pass
- 46:53Speaker 1: you know, okay, whereas Moss is more of a pocket passer. Yes, yes,
- 46:59Speaker 1: he'd be fair in those big games. He did throw
- 47:03Speaker 1: some costly picks.
- 47:04Speaker 2: He did you know. I know there's there'll be some
- 47:06Speaker 2: games where he was not Now I'm not saying it
- 47:08Speaker 2: was all on him either, but no, there there's scenames
- 47:10Speaker 2: where he definitely had some bad games. I just truly
- 47:13Speaker 2: Enjoyedble Washington play because I thought his high moments were
- 47:15Speaker 2: really good.
- 47:18Speaker 1: You know.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Yeah, So I'm all team Legal now and him with
- 47:21Speaker 2: my guy Jeff Brohm, they've aft to preget serves so far.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the that that's the game after Florida State.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Yes, true, which if they win could be.
- 47:33Speaker 1: A letdown suck, but we'll get to that in weeks
- 47:37Speaker 1: to come. And one more thing, s m U TCU
- 47:40Speaker 1: is a fun one hoover for TCU three seventy nine
- 47:45Speaker 1: through the air and five tds McAllister eight catches two
- 47:50Speaker 1: fifty four and three tuddies.
- 47:54Speaker 2: And I'm not saying they're gonna be I'm not saying
- 47:57Speaker 2: they'll play Georgia and national title, but tc is pretty
- 47:59Speaker 2: damn jit this year. They look it so far.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I really like him. And then just an
- 48:06Speaker 1: update on Bill Belichick thirty four to nine, so you
- 48:12Speaker 1: know they gotta work on that. Would they miss an
- 48:15Speaker 1: extra point or something? They got to work on their
- 48:17Speaker 1: special teams, but would turn in the corner. You know
- 48:19Speaker 1: what I mean, they're turning the corner. But yeah, it
- 48:23Speaker 1: is funny, like in the off season how everybody thought
- 48:25Speaker 1: it'd just be like, dude, they're gonna be in the playoffs.
- 48:27Speaker 1: It's like, you calm down, not how this works. You
- 48:30Speaker 1: know you gotta be there for a second. But also
- 48:36Speaker 1: another game that was fun Iowa and Rutgers ruggers on offense,
- 48:42Speaker 1: it's very fun to watch and they put up points,
- 48:45Speaker 1: but their defense is horrendous. They had Iowa throwing the
- 48:49Speaker 1: deep ball like every fourth throw Marshall, so you know
- 48:53Speaker 1: that defense isn't that good. But you know, the the
- 48:59Speaker 1: kid from Minnesota because that's where he came from originally
- 49:02Speaker 1: as well, he's not from Minnesota, but he went there.
- 49:06Speaker 1: The guy who recruited him moved on and is the
- 49:12Speaker 1: offensive cordinerator there Ruggers. And so when he was a
- 49:15Speaker 1: few years ago in a game or in a year
- 49:18Speaker 1: where he got some starts because Morgan Tyler, Morgan was
- 49:22Speaker 1: hurt and you could start to see, Okay, this guy's
- 49:25Speaker 1: got something. We knew he had a bigger army, knew
- 49:26Speaker 1: he could run. But he looked pretty good in that system,
- 49:29Speaker 1: and that dude left and we do have a more
- 49:32Speaker 1: pro style system now, so he did not fit that system.
- 49:37Speaker 1: And but now you know, last two years, he's back
- 49:40Speaker 1: in a system that he was recruited to. So he's
- 49:44Speaker 1: looking pretty good. But like I said, that defense is
- 49:46Speaker 1: really bad. I mean when you got Iowa. Now they
- 49:49Speaker 1: had a kickoff return, but Iowa, when they're when they're
- 49:52Speaker 1: throwing a deep on you, you know, you got some
- 49:54Speaker 1: problems defensively. So that that but that was a fun game.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Those those Friday night Fox games. Man, they've been pretty good.
- 50:03Speaker 1: They've been pretty good. We got two games coming up here,
- 50:07Speaker 1: and let's let's get to it, shall we Week five? Yes,
- 50:11Speaker 1: let's start in the SEC. Alabama versus Georgia. Georgia has
- 50:18Speaker 1: already been in a big, big matchup now you know
- 50:22Speaker 1: Florida State, no disrespect, that's a big matchup too. So
- 50:25Speaker 1: Alabama has two. The quarterback looked like he was very
- 50:30Speaker 1: late on passes and just wasn't in rhythm. He had
- 50:34Speaker 1: a he had a bad outing. They had a bad outing. Defensively,
- 50:37Speaker 1: they got rand up, all up and down. Georgia comes
- 50:41Speaker 1: in here, averaging two o nine on the ground, whereas
- 50:46Speaker 1: Bama's giving up a buck thirty eight. A lot of
- 50:49Speaker 1: it was in that game. You know the young quarterback, well,
- 50:55Speaker 1: both of them technically have young quarterbacks, right, but Simpson
- 50:58Speaker 1: has looked at least he's got some confidence builder, that
- 51:02Speaker 1: Ty Simpson. So we'll see where that goes. But what
- 51:08Speaker 1: do you see here, man? Because uh, you know, it's
- 51:12Speaker 1: a it's obviously a huge game, huge rivalry, and you know,
- 51:17Speaker 1: to have that crazy game that that Georgia was in.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Did they both yeah, I'm trying to think, did they
- 51:28Speaker 1: both have buys? Yeah, they both had buys? I think?
- 51:32Speaker 1: Or no? Maybe yeah, yeah, yeah they both had buys. Yeah, yep.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Oh that's funny. Huh, that's weird how that happened. They
- 51:38Speaker 1: just they just sketches. Yeah, I'll leave. Yeah, if you
- 51:46Speaker 1: look at these matchups right now, if you go back
- 51:50Speaker 1: to twenty twenty one, it was a blowout by Bama,
- 51:52Speaker 1: but uh, in the National Championship game, Georgia beat him,
- 51:56Speaker 1: and then two years ago twenty seven twenty four, Georgia's
- 52:00Speaker 1: winning streak fell and then Bama last year got way
- 52:04Speaker 1: up on him. Georgia came back almost came all the
- 52:07Speaker 1: way back, fell short forty one to thirty four. What
- 52:12Speaker 1: are your thoughts going into this matchup, man, because you
- 52:14Speaker 1: know it's Bama Georgia.
- 52:18Speaker 2: I do think the spread makes you wonder a little bit.
- 52:20Speaker 2: I think that's Vegas's way of respecting in Alabama. Obviously
- 52:24Speaker 2: if you're Alabama. You did have your hiccup against Florida State,
- 52:27Speaker 2: so that makes you wonder like, Okay, you lost Florida State,
- 52:30Speaker 2: which was a pretty bad loss. You beat the crap
- 52:33Speaker 2: out the U Mountroney beat Wisconsin, which doesn't say much.
- 52:35Speaker 2: So I really do wonder why the spread is only
- 52:39Speaker 2: minus two and a half. Because Georgia proved that you
- 52:42Speaker 2: went to Kneeland and played a really good freaking team
- 52:46Speaker 2: in Tennessee and you won that game when face adversity.
- 52:49Speaker 2: So it it like that that's a credible win. Bama
- 52:52Speaker 2: does not have a credible win yet, So it makes
- 52:54Speaker 2: you wonder like, was Bama really after game verus Florida
- 52:58Speaker 2: scene utter and come back like destroyed Georgia in Georgia
- 53:02Speaker 2: in Georgia too. Yeah, yeah, so my gut tells, and
- 53:07Speaker 2: you know, and and and Georgia's Georgie's quarterback has a
- 53:11Speaker 2: little more experience, a little bit more. But you know,
- 53:13Speaker 2: but Bam Bamas quarterback, like you played one game for
- 53:17Speaker 2: sports stating in your offense was dreadful. So yeah, I'm
- 53:22Speaker 2: and I hate saying this because we've done slot Chris
- 53:24Speaker 2: and really by this. In the asplay, I'm gonna kind
- 53:26Speaker 2: of fade Vegas because I think Georgia should be favored
- 53:30Speaker 2: at home now unless there's some catastrophic injury we're not
- 53:33Speaker 2: aware of. But I don't think there'd be an injuries
- 53:35Speaker 2: on a bye week. Uh both. I believe both teams
- 53:38Speaker 2: finished relatively healthy over last week. So I'm gonna take
- 53:42Speaker 2: I'll take the I'll take the underdog at home for
- 53:45Speaker 2: Georgia because I just that math is a math neither,
- 53:49Speaker 2: Like you went to Tennessee and took on a huge
- 53:52Speaker 2: test and you won the game. Uh So now again,
- 53:57Speaker 2: Tobam Wall win for sure. I don't think it's gonna
- 53:59Speaker 2: be a blow either way, but I'm just something's not sooner, right,
- 54:02Speaker 2: So I'll take.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Georgia just because the underdog though.
- 54:06Speaker 2: Oh sorry, no, sorry, you're right. No, sorry, Georgie, My
- 54:09Speaker 2: soon happ But again, I'll take them to win by
- 54:11Speaker 2: a field goal at home. I think that they've proven
- 54:14Speaker 2: a little bit more from I've seen because again, now
- 54:16Speaker 2: a couple of years ago, maybe a win at Wisconsin's
- 54:19Speaker 2: is a good sign. But for Bama, like, just prove
- 54:22Speaker 2: it to me. And if you're the boor, like you
- 54:25Speaker 2: still got people on your back, what are like you
- 54:26Speaker 2: ever gonna replay safe? Like you know, what are you
- 54:28Speaker 2: gonna do for us? And like I'm not saying that's
- 54:30Speaker 2: all fair, but yeah, I'm just gonna take Georgia.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good call. That Wisconsin went a handful
- 54:37Speaker 1: of years ago would have meant something, and I tried
- 54:39Speaker 1: to let Wisconsin live and not bring it up. But
- 54:42Speaker 1: since you brought them up, I uh, they were favored
- 54:47Speaker 1: against Maryland and unless Maryland's back, which I don't know.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Were they ever here in college football? I can't remember.
- 54:54Speaker 1: Now they've had some okay years, but they got beat
- 54:58Speaker 1: cleanly in that. Yeah, yes, I mean it's looking and
- 55:02Speaker 1: I'm looking at Camp Randall. I've seen some great concerts.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Pink Floyd was the best concert there, and I've watched
- 55:09Speaker 1: the game there too, great place. It was, Uh it
- 55:14Speaker 1: wasn't full, I'll just put it that way.
- 55:16Speaker 2: It was not.
- 55:17Speaker 1: They didn't jump around as much in that game. Yeah,
- 55:23Speaker 1: and I'm not I'm gonna sleep good tonight. I'm not
- 55:26Speaker 1: gonna lose any sleep on that. I'm with you. I
- 55:29Speaker 1: think that I'm with you on Georgia with the points,
- 55:33Speaker 1: I think they can win by three, maybe four. I
- 55:36Speaker 1: do think it'll be tight. I think so. But yeah,
- 55:39Speaker 1: I'm just not ready to, Like I wasn't ready to
- 55:43Speaker 1: think George is gonna be a good offense until they
- 55:46Speaker 1: proved it. And they did prove it, Yes, proved it.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Now is he gonna go throw for three to sixty
- 55:53Speaker 1: or whatever? Again, we'll find out, sure, But I'm with you.
- 55:58Speaker 1: The home game that is basically a pick them game, Yeah,
- 56:02Speaker 1: like you said, because of the you know, the home field.
- 56:04Speaker 1: But yeah, I like Georgia in that game. I think
- 56:07Speaker 1: they're just looking a lot better on offense and not
- 56:11Speaker 1: you know, Stockton's a good player for college. Looks like
- 56:15Speaker 1: he's you know, they're gonna grow with him. But everything
- 56:18Speaker 1: around them look better now you know, everything around them,
- 56:23Speaker 1: It just looks more like a team that you get,
- 56:27Speaker 1: you know, from Georgia. So I'm with you. I think
- 56:30Speaker 1: Georgia will will get that done. All right, Oregon Penn State,
- 56:35Speaker 1: They're both gonna play somebody. But let's not forget Oregon
- 56:41Speaker 1: State is not what they were with that former coaches
- 56:45Speaker 1: at Michigan State trying to rebuild that, right, So so
- 56:49Speaker 1: we have to put that in there. And Oklahoma State
- 56:51Speaker 1: isn't either. Wasn't it two years ago? Wasn't it two
- 56:54Speaker 1: years ago that they were tending two?
- 56:56Speaker 2: Pretty sure they've fallen off the map times ten they
- 57:01Speaker 2: were twenty eight. Hey for this one. Yeah, I really
- 57:07Speaker 2: think if you're gonna bet this one guy going a
- 57:09Speaker 2: little bit blind, you can maybe going to like five stars,
- 57:12Speaker 2: who's got more? Like neither of these teams have played
- 57:15Speaker 2: in one legit yet, So I'm gonna pick Oregon. I
- 57:18Speaker 2: just I trust your coach a bit more shocking. Well
- 57:26Speaker 2: well god, well, I yeah.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Because they did beat Ohio State during the year last year.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, actually, yeah, both these guys was struggling because Franklin,
- 57:37Speaker 2: I believe it's two and fifteen versus top ten opponents
- 57:40Speaker 2: and and Oregon Lanty He's definitely, yeah, I think this
- 57:44Speaker 2: is truly After this game, you'll have a better idea
- 57:47Speaker 2: of what to perceive both these teams because neither's played
- 57:49Speaker 2: a top quality opponent yet, and these are two teams
- 57:52Speaker 2: that could be playoff potential or they could be a fraud,
- 57:55Speaker 2: possibly because they got to prove it. So this should
- 57:58Speaker 2: be that when we break down our game next week
- 58:01Speaker 2: on the show, it's like, Okay, we found that Oregon's
- 58:03Speaker 2: legiti or Penn State's legit. I do think obviously people
- 58:06Speaker 2: love the Penn State whiteouts. They're sure they'll do a
- 58:08Speaker 2: white out. It's a night game, there'll be a huge
- 58:11Speaker 2: home field advantage. But I think skill wise, I think
- 58:15Speaker 2: Oregon has better players, just because they normally have had
- 58:18Speaker 2: kind of a top tier offensive last handful of years.
- 58:21Speaker 2: I'm gonna give a slight edge. I will take Oregon
- 58:23Speaker 2: with the points on the road, just to sneak by
- 58:27Speaker 2: Penn State. I think it'll be close, but I'm gonna
- 58:29Speaker 2: take the Ducks. Maybe this is my James Franklin haterish talking,
- 58:32Speaker 2: but I entered a slightly better program. And yeah, but
- 58:36Speaker 2: you're right, though, both these coaches need to prove that, hey,
- 58:38Speaker 2: we can win a big one for both their situations.
- 58:41Speaker 2: You're right because Oregon could have been the national title
- 58:43Speaker 2: last year or a couple of years ago, but Washington said, no, dude,
- 58:47Speaker 2: we're good.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Hold on, we'll beach once, not once, but twice.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Yes, and those are two huge games for Landing. So
- 58:53Speaker 2: you're right, both these coaches that kind of this to
- 58:55Speaker 2: be a good win for either one on their belt.
- 58:59Speaker 1: But Franklin has been at it longer, so that's why.
- 59:02Speaker 1: And to be honest with you, when he started, though,
- 59:04Speaker 1: they did beat Ohio State and they did win a
- 59:06Speaker 1: big ten championship, they just it just hasn't happened in
- 59:09Speaker 1: a long time against Ohio. Yes, but then again, if
- 59:13Speaker 1: Oregon had to play Ohio State every single solitary year,
- 59:16Speaker 1: you know, and Michigan, i'd like to see their record.
- 59:21Speaker 1: But yeah, either way, I do want to see how
- 59:25Speaker 1: this young quarterback plays because it looks like he played
- 59:31Speaker 1: as a as a true freshman I believe at U c.
- 59:34Speaker 1: L A. And then I did like how he knew
- 59:37Speaker 1: he wasn't gonna play last year and he just said,
- 59:39Speaker 1: let me just you know, learn the system. You know,
- 59:41Speaker 1: I'll plug and play. And he's looked pretty damn good.
- 59:46Speaker 1: So I do want to see him against a real
- 59:49Speaker 1: defense with a lot of returning guys. That made a
- 59:52Speaker 1: nice run, but they you know, the one thing I
- 59:57Speaker 1: you know, if you look at that game, Oregon beat
- 59:59Speaker 1: him in the Big Ten championship, So we're like their
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: edge that went you know, really high. Penn State, that's
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: their biggest loss. They they had four out of their
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: five return Now Oregon hit the portal hard too, Yeah,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: so they lost more. But then again, you know they
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: have that portal pretty strong. So yeah, and then have
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: we seen an advancement with Penn State's quarterback? We you know,
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: year two under that new you know, somewhat new coordinator.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: They went out after they got plucked by Clemson, they
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: went out and got Ohio States coordinators. Yes, well, well
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: we'll see how that goes. But I'm gonna go on
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: the other side of it. We can't, you know, we
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: we some of these games. I think we're gonna be
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: on the same side. So this is give me just
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: another tight one. And I really which which game is
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: going to kick off first, you know, because they're going
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: at the same time. Yes, and I'm hoping there's that
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: fifteen minute gap, you know where so there's so you
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: can see both games or whatever. Yeah, if it counts
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: with their tight games, you can see the last chunk
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: of time. I'd assume they're going to do that, but yeah,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: what a night. I'm going Penn State, though, I think
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: the home field advantage, and just I do like the team.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: I do like the team. I think that you know,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: they proved they were really solid last year, where I
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: don't think Clemson did. Now you can also say, well,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: what was their best win? And I think that's fair.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: But we're gonna find out. This can be a good
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: game here. But yeah, I mean they're looking like the
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: same old Oregon that is for sure. So yeah, I
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: think it's going to be a hell of a game.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: And like I said, I just I just wish it
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: wasn't that. You know, it's too bad that it wasn't
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: at Oregon. I mean not for Penn State fans obviously. Yeah,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: my pick, my pick would probably be different, but you
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: know it would kick off later potentially, so that that's
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: I guess that would be the only bummer there, but that, Yeah,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: it's it's it's gonna be interesting. Let's let's talk about
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: USC at Illinois. I mean, we're gonna get into old
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: miss go to LSU, but this one kind of you know,
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: obviously USC is your squad USC, you know, between Indiana
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: and USC, you know, to help my bet with Illinois,
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: I I wanted it thenm't to win one of those
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: games that was realistic. Well, they sure didn't win last week,
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: and they're banged up, especially in the secondary, and so
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: now that you get here, it's like, whoa, Okay, this
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: is gonna be tough. Man. They lost a lot of
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: bodies last week. And you can have all the returning
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: stars you want back, but if you lost that many
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: bodies even going into the game, then during the game,
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: it's gonna be tough. But you know, will they get
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: beat down? Their hair is gonna come you know, are
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: they gonna come up with their hair on fire and
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: just be like pride kicking in or is it like
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: a start to like a you know, an unraveling of
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: the season.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: So, man, I think Vegas speaks to you on this
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: one for sure. I know I was a little bit
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: nervous about Vegas and Bama Georgia. But USC is almost
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: a seven point favorite at Illinois. I think that adds
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: on to what you said, Chris of the injuries. I
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: know the beatdown Priape plays a little bit into it,
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: but also you know, in college football or college basketball,
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: whatever what NFL any sport. When you have a bad loss,
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: a lot of times as far as you up to
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: have a great week of practice. So I think we're
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: gonna see a much better Illinois. And they still have
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: the formula ground and pound, and that's never.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Been They're gonna have to play ball control to keep
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: the USC offense off the off the field.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: True, and that's never really been you his Mino either.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: They're kind of like what we want to score as
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: much as we can, hope our defense does apart. So
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: we do have two contrasting coaching style. I think and
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: I hell, I think beat Little Lincoln rally about opposit
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: dudes as you can get. So I hope the USC
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: boys win. I'm excited to watch them play that man.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: Saturday is going to be an incredible freaking day of life.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: I I hope they I hope they get the dumb
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: I hope that there's that hangover effect that Illinois is
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: a little bit sluggish. I don't think there as bad
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: as I don't think there's bad as they played last
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: week at all. See taplays that for your USC. Get
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: up on them early, you know, take advantage of the
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: secondary issues. Obviously, Lincoln always has a quarterback that can
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: throw the ball, take advantage of the secondaries, and make
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: the passes that got to happen because if you get
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: that like twenty to seventeen ground and pound kind of game,
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: that's gonna favorite Illinois. So get up on him, be aggressive,
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: and hopefully the USC finds away, which should be a
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: nice ranked road win.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know how long much longer they'll be
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: ranked though, if they then they can get ranked again.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: And I don't know. I haven't checked to see how
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: you know, there's injuries, but like how long this is
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: gonna be? And I just don't want to because I
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: already have to bet in you know, so there's really
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: no point to go looking. But I would go look
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: to see that six and a half, I'll say that,
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: to see like how how long termed are some of
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: them are gonna come back this this week, that type
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: of thing. But I like USC as well. In Illinois, Man,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: they got to pound that rock. And I will say
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: this though against Michigan State, it does seem like they
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: got a pretty good offense. So I don't want to
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: look too deep into it. But some of the you know,
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: some of that second, the secondary didn't look all that
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: great for the Trojans in that game.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: I'm not going to defend that.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's a work in progress, but yeah, I
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: like USC to get the job done. And I saw
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: a Lincoln Riley offense. I'm starting to really see it,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I'm starting to see those
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: little short, little dump offs, the screen passes and extra
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: yards after to catch. I'm starting to see it all
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: kind of come together on offense. We'll see if it
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: does on defense. Another do your squads are in some
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: big games here LSU number four in the country, you
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: know whatever, against number thirteen Old Miss. They are a
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: favorite at home. But they're at home and it's only
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: one and a half now. Last year and really the
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: last few years, I would first of all, the over
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: wouldn't be fifty four and a half, you know, it
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: would be right, So I would have pound the over
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: in this one. But you know, it's a tail of
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: two uh offenses and defenses because last year a slip
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: flopped right. Old Miss had a great defense. Their offense
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: was very inconsistent, especially once they you know, in the
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: big matchups, and we know LSU's defense sucked where it
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: looks much improved. But their offense, I don't know. I
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: think the key for LSU is to run the ball.
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: They're only averaging, you know, almost one hundred and seventeen
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: a game, and in college that's not a ton. But
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Old Miss is giving up a buck ninety on the
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: ground Jesus, So that's a lot. And then which quarterback's
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: gonna play? The guy who's been producing lately or the
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: kid they want to develop long term. That's gonna be
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: interesting something to keep an eye on. What says you
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: with about this matchup?
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: Man, everything you like better? I do love Lae Kiffin more,
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: that's for sure.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: And you get the name Tridon ad mean that name
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: chim Bliss like that? That's crazy.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: And I can't stand Brian Kelly at all. But man,
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: every for the past like three years, any big big
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: game that Old Miss has been in, uh, Kiffins, let
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: me down. They've not won the big games. And this
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: is why you consider a big game. So do they
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: have the skills set? Sure? Now you could say LSU's
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: offense might be trash. Well help they had five interceptions
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: versus my versus Florida and they only won by like
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: they had a score orl a touchdowns. So I do
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: think this will be a close game. But for the
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: past three years this has been a game where Old
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: missus loss. So I'm gonna take LSU. I hope, I hope.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: I'm giving kid from praise after this one. But you
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: got to win this one, Lane, Like, yes, I know
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: you've since you've been there, you've been putting the old
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: miss at at new levels. And they had like the
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: ten two years two years ago best some school history
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: stuff like that. Like he's doing he's doing a good
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: job out aside from my love for him, he's doing well.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: But you've been losing the games you're not supposed to win,
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: and this would be one that Again LSU's not gods yet,
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: but this would be a good one to win. That
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: would make the uh help you increase your chances greatly
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: for making the playoffs. So and LSU are sorry. Ole
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: miss has a pretty tough schedule too. It's not quite
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: Florida Oklahoma, but it's up there, so.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: It's better by last year. It's tougher than last year.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: Yeah, So I hope they get the job done. But hey,
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: LSU's got a legit defenses here. So what game plan
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: can Ole Miss come up with to give himself a
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: legit chance. We'll see. But I'm gonna bet. I'm gonna bet,
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: but I'm gonna pick LSU and hope I'm wrong.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you on LSU. I think that if
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: they have the talent on offense, they just got to
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: find it. I think that having to retool that offensive
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: line plays into it, as long as Nuts doesn't try
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: to win game in the in a couple of throws,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: you know, like he tends to do. But really that
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: run game, you know, gotta gotta keep that potent offense off.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: I know that sounds cliche. I just said it, you know,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: in the last game Illinois, but it's true. I mean,
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: it's it's basic, especially when they're giving up that much. Now,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: some of it's who you play and if that team is,
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: you know, especially the early stats. You know, yeah, some
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: of some of it can look way worse than it
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: really is. But when they've run, you know, tried to
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: run the ball, l SU, it's looked pretty good. So
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: we'll see if they're you know, offs the line has
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: come around and just good, you know, how good this
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: defense is. It looks fast. It looks aggressive, but they
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: haven't necessarily, you know, had an offensive team per se.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: You know that they so we get you know, it
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: goes the other way with defense too. Some of the
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: stats can look a little skew, so we'll see. But
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: I got LSU winning and if he's five and oh,
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: speaking of tough schedules, they got plenty of guys, you know,
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: plenty of yeah, so yeah, both both teams really obviously,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: I always need to win, right, but this is a
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: this is kind of an early you know, you hate
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: to say it right now, but it feels kind of
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: like it's a pole position, that's for sure. Yes, I'm
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: not gonna say a playoff elimination. It's too early obviously,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: but yeah, it's pole position. But I like the Tigers
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: to get it done. And just I do I want.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: I just thought about this. I saw two groups of
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: people because Cincinnati played h and I feel bad for
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: him how the game went. But Cincinnati played my Vikings
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: here in Minneapolis this weekend, and two groups of LSU
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: fans came up here to watch because you know, they
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: have a lot of l s U guys obviously, some
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: high profile guys, and they came up here, two different
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: groups of people not knowing each other, and I'm like,
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: that came up here. They got this little kid with
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: this like this big old L L s U T
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: shirt on, and I was like, what, oh wow, that
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: that just shows you the dedication of that fan base.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, cool.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: Now I feel bad for him because, you know, first
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: of all, the quarterback didn't play, and then second of all,
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: we saw what happened in the game. But I don't
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: feel that bad. But I feel pretty bad for him
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: a little bit because it's like, well, I hope you
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: enjoyed the city, you know, like, damn dude, But that
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: just shows you how dedicated you know that that It's
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: pretty cool, all right. Auburn, who could have won that
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: game but didn't, could have, would have should have traveling
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: on the road again. They've had to travel to Baylor,
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: They've had to travel now obviously to Oklahoma and now.
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: Tech and m who's kind of the shrubs at Auburn,
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: at Jordan Harris. Someone's got to cut those shrubs for
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: those walkoff touchdown wins, right, you know.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Obviously Auburn has to get back to their run game.
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: They weren't able to do that. I do think Obviously, Oklahoma,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: I feel like they have a better, you know, defense,
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: And I'm not saying am doesn't you know, like won't
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: have a pretty good defense. But we saw what Notre
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Dame was able to do in that game, so they're
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: giving up, you know. Like I said, these early stats
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: can throw you off, right, yeah, because twenty eight points whatever,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: But they're also he could probably say, passing and throwing
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: a lot better and scoring more than you'd think. Marcel
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: Reed looks like he's turned the corner. Let's see, both
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: these guys have what it takes to be a great
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: college football quarterback, but they do misthrow, both Jackson Arnold
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: and Marcel Reid. And so you know, Auburn, I think
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: it's they've recovered eight fumbles second in the NCAA. This
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: one's tough, man. I'm kind of up in the air
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: on it, but I think that when I saw in
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: the Notre Dame game. Although i'd say long term, since
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: they're both young, I kind of I do like car
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: better for for Notre Dame. But and I'm just saying
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: what they were able to do, That's why I'm using
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: that example. But they don't have a Coleman on their team,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Notre Dame. I'm not ripping on their wide receivers, but
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: they don't have this guy, and I think he'll be
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: the difference maker. So I like Auburn to get it
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: done on the road straight up. Plus one eighty eight,
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: But I'm gonna I'm probably buy seven and a half
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: plus seven and a half, but I'm gonna take of
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: the for the upset, one of the upsets of the
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: week for me. But yeah, I mean, yeah, the plus
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: one eighty eight in the the plus seven and a half.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: I'm not all in on Auburn, but they're better than
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: they have been in recent years, let's put it that way.
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: That's fair. I guess one of my biggest things to
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: be is that is it's too many year road games.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: Like ship you got you had good Baylory, you.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: Had to go to Oklahoma, you got like like a bum,
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: you know, like a bad bad outing.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and you got you got Georgia next week at home,
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: and then you got Miszoo too. Like that's kind of
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: a and Georgia Auburn is a big rivalry. This is
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: this is a tough spot for them to be in.
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: You lost a gut Wrencher to Oklahoma. You got Georgia
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: on on your heels, and you gotta go to A
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: and M. Kyle Field.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Okay, maybe I'll just take the points.
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: I'm gonna ye'all are shit. Just be easy to take
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: the A and M money line, because you know that
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: Auburn defense is legit. And as we saw, defense does travel.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Offense does not travel. But as we saw Florida, Florida's
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: defense hung up with Miami for three quarters. Like good
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: defense is gonna travel. And AM's excuse me, A M's
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: offense is not like high flash. It's it's okay. But
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: you know, so I'll take I'll take Auburn. I'll excuse me,
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: I'll take A and M. So I go opposite here.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: I just think it's a really tough scheduling spot. And sometimes,
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: as I've learned over the years we've done this podcast,
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: the team skills, you sometimes got say aside because the
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: scheduling spot can determine the win or loss, aside from
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: the skill level, just because it puts you in tough spots.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: And this is a tough spot for Auburn to be in.
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: So I'll take the Aggies.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is. I mean they've already been in
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: that area Tornado Alley in Texas. This would be the
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: third time. You know, yes, that is pretty crazy. But
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: I don't know. I think that they can run the
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: ball on them. And like I said, Coleman, whether it's
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: drawing penalties or making great passes, I think he's going
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: to get it done, all right. We know, speaking of
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: all these cliches that are cliches for a reason. The
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: letdown game Indiana at Iowa on Peacock, I don't know.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: I don't know why I said that. You know, Iowa
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: looked great last week against a bad defense. Look great.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: I mean they look great. They got another white dude
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: who can return stuff on special teams. They produced that
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: every few years. They got a white dude you know
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: that could just pump return and kickoff return and all
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: that stuff. Would you take up a plus seven and
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: a half on Iowa and then the forty eight and
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: a half you think, oh it's Iowa. Yeah, but this
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: is different.
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: It's not Iowa, dude. I'll be quick by a segment.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: I'm taking Indiana minus seven. I think this steam role
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: that are asked, Like my buddy tell me that I
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: was quarterback is trash this year and he's not good dude,
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: And I know that it could be a letdown spot.
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: But India, you, I think Signetti has that ingrain in
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: their heads. We can't afford to letdown spots because we're Indiana,
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: and again could maybe they won't win like by thirty,
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: But I think that we are talking about two massly
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: different teams. Now. If this was Kinnic at Knight, different story.
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: This game's two thirty. Kinnick Knight's a different fucking beast.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: That's up there death value in my opinion. But this
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: is a two thirty afternoon start. I'm taking Indiana to win.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: That will be one of my big bets of the week. There.
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: It's just two different programs going even.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Dark in the fourth quarter. Yet, Yeah, so that's good.
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: Kinnick and Knight would have been because they're special there.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: They woke through the Myers asked Kinnick and Knight. But
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: I'll take Indiana to cover easily. I'm gonna say it.
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: So who is yours will be one of my bets
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: of the week.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm I'm kind of eyeballing that as well. I
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: just figured i'd throw it out there.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: You did, I threw it right back.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: You returned to serve quickly. I want to replay on
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: it if my serve went in because I think my
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: service out, so you count. But yeah, I hear you.
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: I think so too. And and another thing, you know,
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: I like the Cover three podcasts. I may get Danny
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: some ship once in a while, but I really like
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: that podcast. Like I love to sit down and have
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: some bears with those dudes, you know real yeah, yeah,
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: it just maybe say a couple of things, but just
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: let him, let them talk and just listen to them.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: But you know, like you said, a chip on the
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: shoulder from last year, you know, I don't think it
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: is a let down. You know, I don't think they're
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: gonna let down. I think that's a good, good call.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: We talked about the Friday night games. Kind of interesting
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: because you know, NFL took away Thursday night, so I
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: kind of like these games. By the way, Arizona State
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: got a nice win on the buzzer last week. I
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: think it was on the buzzer either way. They kicked
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: the field goal to win. Baylor's defense just can't can't
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: do it. But it was a nice win for Arizona State.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: TCU at Arizona State on Fox, and this is cool
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: because that's eighth central. We're Florida State at Virginia in
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: a look ahead possibly look ahead game with Miami right
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: around the corner. Virginia's pretty good this year, but it
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: starts at sixth Central, so you get you're gonna be
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: able to see both games. You know, Florida State's looking
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: damn good. They got a run pass guy. He likes
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: to talk shit and back it up. We know they're
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: not the program that they were last year, but are
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: they the program the year before? You know that that's
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: a fair question. But obviously a pick them type game
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: with TCU in Arizona State. What says you about those
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: two matchups on Friday?
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: I'm gonna take TCU. I was kind of well, actually,
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: I can't stay I impressed. I think that Arizona State's
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: offense has a couple of problems when they played Mississippi State.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: Some take TCU. I think tc has just looked more
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: polished this year so far, so I will take the
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: horn Frogs with the little frog sign. And I do
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: think that Florida State gets the job done. I think
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: Norvello has them guys kind of on the right path
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: so far. After two years ago they were so good,
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: last year was so bad. This year we're kind of
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: back on track, and I think they'll take care of
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: business life to play a dog on their safe size.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: So I'll take Florida State and TCU on the road
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: is a minor, minor favorite.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I got I got. I got TCU in
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: Florida State too. I am kind of wondering for suriff
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Florida State, can you know win by that total? I
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: think they can. But but but the look aheads around,
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: I think it's worth mentioning. But I like TCU as well.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: In fact, the against the spread, I have that plus
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: two and a half. So yeah, I'm right there with you.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: And then we have another game or two games. I'll
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: say Notre Dame at Arkansas after what just happened, and
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: then Duke at QS after what just happened. QS is
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: a plus five right around there. I'm looking I'm eyeballing that.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: But what's the as you about? Some of this these
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: matchups are some other matchup. Notre Dame has to win
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: out to even be considered. Yeah, and the.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: Hogs had a tough loss. I like Sam pitman. I'm
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: an I guess I'm a minor Arkansas guy. I just
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: think it seems like good dude, and they always have
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: a pretty fun team to watch. We've supported them over
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: the years. Hey, they need to win. It seems like
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: every year they got a hard fucking schedule. They don't
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: schedule like I'll give Arkansas credit. They don't schedule easy
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: like Alabama or some Georgia schools. They always have a
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: tough overall schedule. So but hey, I think we found
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: out that Arkansas's defense has some issues. I've heard that
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: from multiple reports this year that their defense is not
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: that good. So if you have a bad defense, you
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: have two of the best running backs in the country
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: coming to face you in a mustlim game, I'm gonna
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: say Notre Dame. Uh, Notre Dame has two elite running backs.
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: So I think the Irish find a way to get
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: a win in a close game. And man, dude, the
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: only time I players when they lost to Illinois. Now,
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: so again, if you bet Duke here this year this week,
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: you're hoping that Syracuse has a let down after upsetting Clemson.
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: This one's a tough spot, but it does surprise me Chris.
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: The Duke is minusport and half on the road, So
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: that's Vegas.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: Fox app I've seen five in the Fox that has
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: it five and a half. So does my Bugie. So
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: the plus five and a half, I'm eyebawn heavy for
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: for QS.
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so, I mean, you beat Clemson s a hangover spot,
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: but you're at home. You're not gonna have a lette
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: to be taking five and a half points at home.
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: He his team is probably on the same level as you.
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: That's a pretty generous lanes. That's Vegas. Again. Vegas is
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: being a bowld this week with the Duke line. I've
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: seen with the with the Georgia Bama line, They're they're
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: hinting to you. Now as we've Learnarly ears, Vegas formally
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: is right, but I'm with you. I would take the
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: Orange man and Donavan ab plus five and a half.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: And then another one. Speaking an offense, Rutgers some you
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: know on Fox five and a half plus five and
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: a half. I'm eyeballing that against my own squad. Offensively,
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: Minnesota has to be very good in this this game
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: because Rutgers is gonna put up points. But if I
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: was thrown the deep ball like it's Dan Marino in
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: the eighties. Like, I'm not saying we have to keep
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: throwing a deep ball left and right or whatever, but
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: we need to move the ball. And I say, we
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: be in Minnesota, and I gotta see it to believe it. Now,
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: last year this game came down. It's kind of cool
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: because there's a bunch of coaches on both sides. They
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: have a defensive coordinator in an offensive coordinator that used
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: to coach for Minnesota. So and then you know the
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: Greek rifle as they call them. That system fits them,
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: like I mentioned earlier, and so there's a lot of
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: and the head coach, uh Fleck, coaching under him, so
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: there's a lot of like minds here. Last year it
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: came down to a fumble and Rutgers was able to score. Otherwise,
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: the defense showed up, but the offense had issues. But
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: they had a bye week to prepare for Minnesota. This week,
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: Minnesota had a bye week. I want them to win, obviously,
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: it's my squad. If they want to have a seven
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: and five or eight four year, they have to win
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: this game. But they got to move the ball and
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: they gotta, you know, have these long drives to keep
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: that potent ruggers offense off the field. So but I'm
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: looking at that I've already made from what I've.
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: Seen, it does seem like the Gophers quarterback has kind
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: of get worked in the system. I think last year,
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: the kid they adopted to the system did really well.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: I think this year it's a little more work in progress.
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: But your running back is incredible. So but hey, yeah,
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: if you're letting.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: The running back's hurt.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: Oh, okay, he's not back yet.
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: Well, we don't know, because you know, we'll know two
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: hours before kickoff. He didn't play last week though.
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: Okay, I knew he was that. I thought it might
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: be back. Okay, all right, so he might be a
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: huge might be back.
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: He might be back, but he didn't play last week.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: And it's a red shirt freshman who's played really good. Actually, okay,
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: but they've dropped the ball from him out. But I
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: have a let me just look at it again. I
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: have a plus six and a half Okay, flickers already
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: on the books.
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: Yeah. The only thing is if if I was dropping
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: bombs on you, then that that tells me your secondary's
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: got issues.
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: So oh the defense is bad for you. Yeah, they've
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: had the drops though Minnesota wide receivers.
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: Well, I'm going to take the over. What's the over
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: at over is over a few and a half, Okay,
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: I'll take I'll take over that. So I'll take over
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: over fifty one and a half and your Gophers money
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: line parlay for your boys to win and cover it over.
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that I could see that, all right? Any other
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: items before we get to the crafty crafty pick of
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: the week.
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: The only other one I'd say was in a couple
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: of years prior to this would be a sneaky spot.
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: But the number one team in the country, Ohio State's
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: going to Washington, that want to the sickest venues to
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: watch for football is by the Bay. It's a great venue.
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: I don't think Washington has a skill level to stay
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: with Ohio States. You're unfortunately, but that's a fun watch.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: And I've seen it as high as nine and a half.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: I'd be mighty willing to buy some points, but I'm not.
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: I gotta see it to believe it. That wasn't against
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: the spread that I have a question mark about, because
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: you know the thing is, it's like we thought, we
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: think that their defense Ohio State is nasty, right, But
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: then again, Texas their offense is not nasty unless they're
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: playing Sam Houston. You know, yes, so you wonder in
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: Washington another year removed, you know, from the abrupt guy, you.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: Know, like Theodore.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, but you know they got a hell
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: of a coach too there, and so I don't know,
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: it's tough to say on that one.
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: Also for points for perspectives, quickly, Utah's minus ten and
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: a half at West Virginia. Rich Trod had a good
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: win against Penn in the backyard brawl. Utah had a
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: raw for rough week last week, So I wouldn't mind taking.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: My Kansas Oh wow last week.
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: Hey, maybe rich Rod's only focus on the home games
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: this year.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: That's I can see that. I can see that.
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you just gotta play country roads and that's all
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: I gotta worried about. And then lastly, just kta see
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: spot Tennessee. Hey beat GEORGIEA you lost to Georgia that
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: came back for goodwin. Now you're going to Mississippi State,
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: who's undefeated. Last year they were like two and ten.
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: This year there are four and zero. I know, there's
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: like twenty good games on Saturday. That should be a
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: good one because sess he needs to win miss team says,
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: trying to prove that they're not the doormat of the SEC.
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: So that could be a really stinky spread tests team
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: minus seven and a half. Vegas has teasing you there,
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: So that should be a really fun game. Oh yeah,
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: so dude, it's a great great Saturday of cullege football.
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: Truly is definitely all right.
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: So what we're going dude?
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: So now you did say earlier this year, I can't
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: do a big conference if one big conference teams playing
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: a team out of the big conference, right, No, no.
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: Power conference against smaller conference. True, this is a power bitterer.
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: I was just bitter.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: No, that's fair.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: That's where we going, Where we go, where we're going.
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: We're going big ten.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: We're going big ten. Oh, I know what you're talking about. Okay,
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: And you know.
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: For the for the segment of Chris, this is a
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: good fucking pick. We're going to thirty Big ten network
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: u c l A versus Northwestern Wildcats. And I know
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: people are like, oh, you can't do the Big Tan
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: for this segment, Yes you can't. You want to see
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: what is doing this year versus the Western. So we
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: got the UCLA Bruins who were owing three, who had
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: their coach fired versus the we're good at school grades,
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: uh Northwestern Wildcaps. This game is an Evanson, Illinois at
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: the Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium, and you can
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: get in for eight. You gotta pay eighty dollars to
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: go see this damn game.
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: Well they got that fancy stadium, you know, by the
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: bay by the water.
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, okay, so Northwestern minus six and a half.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: I know the spread's a bit high, but this, truly,
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: this truth should be in our segment.
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: So yeah, you're right about that.
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: Head. Oh oh, we even got the little Tennessee quarterback man,
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: go go ahead. Chris enjoyed this one.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: Hey, and this does apply because u clas on offense
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: is averaging fourteen. They're giving up thirty six on defense,
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: so that I mean if you and they're giving up
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: two forty four on the ground. So yeah, that winds
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: up with the crafty crappy pick of the week, no
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: doubt about that, where it's basically like ninety almost twenty
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: and a little over twenty one points versus and points
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: against for Northwestern. But you know they they ever since
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: old boy left. Who I'm assuming we'll get a job
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: this next year with somebody, could be UCLA. Actually, you
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: know Preston Stone, I know him a little bit. Okay,
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: I know him a little bit. SMU days and all that.
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: But yeah, this is bad, dude. They have just brought
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: up the quarterback, but they have their ninth most picks
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: in the in the in the whole d one. But
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: Jesus so the Wildcats one hundred and sixty one receiving
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: yards on the road are the fewest in the league.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: But they're not on the road. They're at home, I
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: mean pretty much. So wow. In that line, though, both
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: these programs are solid. You know the fact like Utah
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: is very solid this year, but Oregon is seems legit
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: and I would you know, I would say UNLV in Twulane,
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: they're pretty close to each other. I will say North
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: New Mexico is better than you would think going into
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: this thing. So this one's tough and the only reason
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: why I want to take the home team Northwestern, right,
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: but win one for the Gifford Right. What happens when
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: you when your coach gets fired? Marshall?
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: What happens you get that motivational extra effort and.
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: It could only be for one week, only one week,
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: but it happens. So on one hand, you know, they
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: they they made it interesting against UNLV, but the beating
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: they took against it better than we thought. Uh New
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: Mexico and you could say two lane Northwestern beat them
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: up pretty good. But I kind of like they put
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: up fourteen against Oregon, you know what I mean? They
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: covered the spread as a dog. This one's tough only
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: because you know, the spreads a little wide. But but
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: this does fit only because of that damn brand new
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: coach thing. But they got an ego. So yeah, I'm
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: going to Northwestern Wildcats to get the job done. The
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: forty four and a half is that the over under?
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: Hey?
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: Yeah? God? Can they both put up that day? I'm
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: gonna go under randomly, I'm gonna go under that. And
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: then where are we at it? It's two and two? Right, yeah, hey,
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: two games and this mother effort. Can't even talk about
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: the record?
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, two and two under your where we started
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: off full of as fungus for the boys are right hot?
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: Randy Mossi University said get on my back, and we
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: said thank you, Randy super freaking Hey, this might be
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: one of the best alumni battles of all time because
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: you have like journalists and media people verse maybe one
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: of the best sports schools of Northwestern alumni. David Swimmer
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: somehow is the first person listed on on from friends,
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: Stephen Colbert, Hugh Hefner, Warren Beatty. I mean, did you
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: Shelley Long, Steth Myers, George R. R. Martin, Uh, I mean,
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: Jerry Ryan, you can go on for Northwestern, Julie learys dreyfus.
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: L that's pretty good, you know.
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: But for UCLA you obviously have Cream Abdul Jabbar, Jackie Robinson, Russell,
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: Western Bill Walton. I mean, oh yeah, you know, so
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: I be in the sports event.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: That's not even close.
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: Yeah, being a sports person, and obviously out they had
- 1:36:20Speaker 2: the most dominant probably college basketball player of all time.
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: I got a stamp with UCLA. Ucla takes the cake
- 1:36:27Speaker 2: for the alumni battle, although Northwestern was a very strong
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: second place. Uh, but you're going with Western football, so
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: we're we're good though, We're we're I'm gonna win the
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: alumni battle, You're gonna win the football game. And next
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: week we have a hell of a showed recap because
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: there's like legit twenty good football games to watch on Saturday,
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: so enjoy your time Saturday, get the shortshne on Friday,
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: get some beer, get some wings, get some pizza. Becase
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: it's gonna be a good one Saturday. The boys are out.
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: Have a good night. Piece
