  Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago in Denver. Yeah, and it's

  Speaker 1: what I didn't know is it's connected and into a

  Speaker 1: strip mall, tiny little strip mall, and apparently there's a

  Speaker 1: Funko pop shop just down down the way.

  Speaker 2: But it is this bright pink building and there's.

  Speaker 1: Two pictures of it, of me in front of it,

  Speaker 1: and then I call them they are my family.

  Speaker 2: This is my lost science family. Mind you.

  Speaker 1: I want to say I am the shortest in that

  Speaker 1: photo and I'm wearing two inch platforms.

  Speaker 2: The one in the girl that has the evy bag.

  Speaker 1: She's my thirteen year old niece who is much taller

  Speaker 1: than I am already.

  Speaker 3: So Casa Bonita has been there for a long time,

  Speaker 3: and it was the inspiration for Larry H. Miller's Man

  Speaker 3: Here in Utah Rather Where's that Draper? Or No, Sandy?

  Speaker 2: It was in Sandy.

  Speaker 1: I'd only been to the Mayan once and I found
• 1:02
  Speaker 1: out my middle school teacher was one of the divers.

  Speaker 1: It was a little weird and so I didn't have

  Speaker 1: too much of a comparison because I don't really remember

  Speaker 1: the shows that happened in the Mayan, but we got

  Speaker 1: premiere seating because my my best friend is a founder. Uh.

  Speaker 1: When they first when they first bought it back and they.

  Speaker 4: They met, yeah, Craig Parked and Matt Stone. They're from Colorado.

  Speaker 4: They grew up loving this restaurant and it was going

  Speaker 4: out of business or did go out of business, yeah,

  Speaker 4: the South, and they decided to buy it and restore it.

  Speaker 4: And I think that was the story that we had,

  Speaker 4: was how it's.

  Speaker 2: Cost doing great, not doing great.

  Speaker 1: They do have a little like museum and timeline of

  Speaker 1: like when it started to when they took over in

  Speaker 1: the interview that they did. But you walk in and

  Speaker 1: it's very movie esque set, so you've got all of

  Speaker 1: these you know, you look like you're walking down the

  Speaker 1: alley way of like Spain almost that kind of thing.

  Speaker 2: Really pretty, really cool.

  Speaker 1: Their menu was I didn't realize what you're paying for

  Speaker 1: when you pay for your actual seat, because it's more

  Speaker 1: than just your food and stuff. Other than you have

  Speaker 1: to pay extra for alcohol, which I have a picture

  Speaker 1: of our menu. My best friend and I shared plates.

  Speaker 1: I got the taco salad which was actually pretty good,

  Speaker 1: and then she got the chicken enchiladas.

  Speaker 2: Food was okay, mediocre. The drinks were great.

  Speaker 1: Had a nice pinacolata good not Utah poor pinacolata.

  Speaker 2: I have the drink menu over there, so we all

  Speaker 2: got drinks. Cool part.

  Speaker 1: You know, you're not in Utah, so you can walk
• 2:44
  Speaker 1: around with your drink because you have an hour of

  Speaker 1: being at your table to eat and hang.

  Speaker 2: Out and stuff like that. And then you have an

  Speaker 2: hour at.

  Speaker 1: Your table, but then you're allowed to be roaming through

  Speaker 1: the restaurant itself and everything for as long as you want.

  Speaker 2: There's a lot.

  Speaker 1: There's a lot that you get experience, which I didn't realize.

  Speaker 1: The there are puppet shows. There are not just the

  Speaker 1: cliff Divers, but there's also a tarot reading is a

  Speaker 1: part of what you pay for, so we got our
• 3:14
  Speaker 1: tarot cards read. That's just outside. So those are some
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: of the things that it kind of includes. You know,
• 3:18
  Speaker 1: you have a magician there and stuff, so it's not
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: just sitting watching cliff Divers and there.
• 3:25
  Speaker 3: As I recall what Larry Millers, it was just it
• 3:28
  Speaker 3: was just.
• 3:29
  Speaker 2: Yeah, but they had a lot.
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: I think they had more extravagant shows than what we
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: had in Casaboni.
• 3:37
  Speaker 3: Yeah.

  Speaker 2: So the other cool.

  Speaker 1: Part was, you know, again not in Utah, there are
• 3:41
  Speaker 1: multiple bars in the restaurant itself because there's multiple levels,

  Speaker 1: so you can go get a drink and continue walking around.

  Speaker 2: You could get.

  Speaker 1: Balloon animals or a balloon hat if you want. Again,
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: all included my husband.

  Speaker 2: I wish.

  Speaker 1: I meant to bring it and I forgot. My husband

  Speaker 1: bought many many memory he he bought a skateboard that

  Speaker 1: has like the Casa Bonita thing that we're gonna hang

  Speaker 1: on the wall because he's a skater. We got coffee
• 4:08
  Speaker 1: mugs and things like that. He I didn't know. He
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: bought a fridge magnet that's also a bottle opener to
• 4:13
  Speaker 1: add to our collection of like seventy thousand bottle openers
• 4:16
  Speaker 1: that we have.
• 4:16
  Speaker 4: So they have a gift shop.
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: They have a get yeah of course, so they have
• 4:20
  Speaker 1: a big gift shop. T shirts. He bought a T shirt,
• 4:22
  Speaker 1: everything like that. This was partial his birthday celebration because
• 4:25
  Speaker 1: he's always wanted to go to this. He's a huge
• 4:27
  Speaker 1: South Park fan and stuff, and we had a grand
• 4:32
  Speaker 1: old time. I've got a video of the cliff diver,
• 4:36
  Speaker 1: one of the cliff divers or events that was happening.
• 4:40
  Speaker 2: I think she's just fixing it really quick.
• 4:42
  Speaker 4: Is is there any South Park memorabilia?
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: So we did meet Man Bear Pig. Gotta meet Man
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: Bear Pig. I have a very fuzzy Oh it's kind
• 4:50
  Speaker 1: of turned but they you know, it's not great acting.

  Speaker 1: Apparently most of the swim or most of the divers
• 5:01
  Speaker 1: that they have hired here are from the swim teams
• 5:03
  Speaker 1: in high school.

  Speaker 4: Which was the same thing.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think there were a little there was
• 5:07
  Speaker 3: a little storyline at the Maya.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, I think there was a storyline at the Maya.

  Speaker 1: And while this is more like the romance, there's there's
• 5:14
  Speaker 1: the romantic old school music playing from you know, old
• 5:19
  Speaker 1: tiny Bahamas style of things. And then they just do
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: little things. Oh there we go, thank you. They climb
• 5:26
  Speaker 1: up the rocks, they dive off the rocks. There's a
• 5:28
  Speaker 1: tiny little waterfall. There's a splash zone. My niece really
• 5:32
  Speaker 1: wanted to go to the splash zone, so we did that.

  Speaker 2: It was it was.
• 5:36
  Speaker 1: Fun, It was enjoyable for the fact that I was
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: with my so many friends that were willing to go
• 5:40
  Speaker 1: do things. There's like a little cave that you can
• 5:42
  Speaker 1: go wander through that's supposed to be part of the
• 5:45
  Speaker 1: storyline of one of their bad guys and miners and
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: things like that, but.
• 5:51
  Speaker 2: It was, you know, it was enjoyable for being a part.

  Speaker 3: Of the the big thing.
• 5:56
  Speaker 1: We got to go at eleven o'clock in the morning,
• 5:58
  Speaker 1: so we had like the first bookings, which I actually
• 6:01
  Speaker 1: am very happy we did because there wasn't a lot
• 6:03
  Speaker 1: of people when we first went in, which also meant
• 6:06
  Speaker 1: that we were some of the first to stand up
• 6:07
  Speaker 1: and be able to walk around the event, like the
• 6:09
  Speaker 1: restaurant and time and things like that, because it did
• 6:12
  Speaker 1: end up starting to get busy about twelve thirty or so,
• 6:15
  Speaker 1: and so we had the opportunity to not have too
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: many people, but I could tell it would get really
• 6:21
  Speaker 1: crowded if you went later on in the day because
• 6:24
  Speaker 1: so many people are going to hang out there for
• 6:25
  Speaker 1: so long. My husband capturing a video of me standing
• 6:28
  Speaker 1: like an old lady.
• 6:29
  Speaker 2: Love that.

  Speaker 1: So, yeah, that's a cliff divers they did. I think
• 6:33
  Speaker 1: they had two or three different routines and that's about it.
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: But it was it was fun. It was enjoyable.

  Speaker 2: Again, food.
• 6:42
  Speaker 1: For my husband and I because we both ordered alcoholic drinks,
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: and then the entree and everything itself is about forty
• 6:49
  Speaker 1: five so I spent about one hundred and twenty ish
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: for both of us. I don't know how much he
• 6:54
  Speaker 1: spent on merchandise. I do know that he spent enough
• 6:56
  Speaker 1: to get a free coffee mug.
• 6:58
  Speaker 3: Oh.
• 6:59
  Speaker 2: Again, this was for him, This was his celebration. But
• 7:03
  Speaker 2: we did enjoy it. We had fun.

  Speaker 1: The adults did all have drinks, and so it kind
• 7:07
  Speaker 1: of helped us get in the mindset of being a
• 7:10
  Speaker 1: kid and running around in those Everything looked like a
• 7:13
  Speaker 1: cave and and all that kind of stuff. It was
• 7:15
  Speaker 1: very exciting in a visual way.
• 7:19
  Speaker 4: There's some people texting in about it. There are many
• 7:22
  Speaker 4: different characters that walk around Casa Bonita and have little
• 7:25
  Speaker 4: storylines and activities that you do.
• 7:27
  Speaker 1: That There's a map and they call it a passport
• 7:30
  Speaker 1: that you can get them to sign. We had man
• 7:32
  Speaker 1: bear pig sign and stuff, and again meant to bring
• 7:34
  Speaker 1: that totally forgot, but we got all but one of
• 7:36
  Speaker 1: the signatures.
• 7:37
  Speaker 4: There's a mermaid den. There's all sorts of side quests.
• 7:41
  Speaker 4: You can do.
• 7:43
  Speaker 1: A lot of a lot of little things that came
• 7:45
  Speaker 1: in the package that I didn't know about. Now, I
• 7:47
  Speaker 1: didn't do a lot of research onto this. My best
• 7:49
  Speaker 1: friend is part of the founder. She's got like a
• 7:51
  Speaker 1: black card kind of a thing for it. So I
• 7:54
  Speaker 1: just put it on her to handle. But we had
• 7:57
  Speaker 1: a great time.

  Speaker 3: Somebody texted the skate deck is that the one he got?

  Speaker 5: This one looks like it's an online exclusive.

  Speaker 1: No, that's a different one than I'll have to take
• 8:05
  Speaker 1: a picture and post it later.

  Speaker 4: But anybody else says Robert Smith has been there, which

  Speaker 4: I find amusing to think of Robert Smith being it.

  Speaker 2: I find.

  Speaker 1: I knew the building was pink, but I mean it
• 8:20
  Speaker 1: is pink. It stands out.

  Speaker 5: Matt and Treya both said that it would have been
• 8:26
  Speaker 5: cheaper to tear the place down and rebuild it than
• 8:30
  Speaker 5: to try to refurbish it.

  Speaker 2: I don't like we are doing fair wow. And I

  Speaker 2: did find out is that it is a twelve foot
• 8:38
  Speaker 2: deep pool. We have some of the workers because we're curious.

  Speaker 2: But it was fun.

  Speaker 1: Casabonita, go check it out if you if you have

  Speaker 1: a chance. It's an adventure. It is an adventure and

  Speaker 1: something to do in Denver if you're bored.

  Speaker 4: I have kind of surprised that Mayan didn't stick around
• 8:52
  Speaker 4: here though, because well.

  Speaker 5: I think it's because they kind of half asked it.

  Speaker 3: And the food wasn't very good.

  Speaker 5: Food wasn't good. They did kind of a half ash.

  Speaker 1: When mine started out, it was really great because you know,

  Speaker 1: it was exciting, it was new, and then it kind

  Speaker 1: of slowly depreciated. But if they had more things to do,

  Speaker 1: like like Casabonita does and includes, it might be a
• 9:15
  Speaker 1: bit more fun. The characters, the going to see things.
