1:36
SPEAKER_06: Chew a little juicy friend.
1:39
SPEAKER_06: Wash away the good little boys.
1:54
SPEAKER_06: It's good for us.
2:00
SPEAKER_06: You know it is so damn lonely.
2:07
SPEAKER_06: When you're all playing alone.
2:22
SPEAKER_06: And never ever leave you leave you at home all alone and cry it's me.
2:38
SPEAKER_06: Chugging down the street.
2:42
SPEAKER_06: But I'll be in a little while.
2:50
SPEAKER_06: So close your eyes now.
2:53
SPEAKER_06: I'll be back, Chris.
2:56
SPEAKER_06: I'll take your pictures.
3:08
SPEAKER_06: Everybody.
3:13
SPEAKER_06: I have that one strap you strap.
3:33
SPEAKER_06: You chew a little juicy.
3:37
SPEAKER_06: Wash away the night.
3:40
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, you chew a little juicy fruit.
3:44
SPEAKER_06: It's good for you, so grapefruit.
3:52
SPEAKER_00: Juicy fruit.
3:52
SPEAKER_00: Juicy fruit.
3:53
SPEAKER_00: I prefer grapefruit to juicy fruit, but juicy fruits is alright.
3:56
SPEAKER_09: You know, I was a doublemint guy.
3:58
SPEAKER_09: Because I like the doublemint twins.
4:00
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
4:00
SPEAKER_00: Oh, good choice.
4:01
SPEAKER_00: To this day, I'll sometimes get doublemint if I want something a little more classic.
4:05
SPEAKER_09: There you go.
4:06
SPEAKER_09: Oh man, I tell you, I'm so excited about this show because I number one, I have my own personal recipe for margaritas.
4:14
SPEAKER_00: It's pretty delicious, and I can say that from personal experience.
4:18
SPEAKER_09: I'll be more than happy to share it with anybody that wants it.
4:21
SPEAKER_09: Uh yeah, I think it's pretty good.
4:22
SPEAKER_09: But it the thing is to keep in mind it's made with top shelf uh alcohol.
4:27
SPEAKER_00: Which does help.
4:28
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, no kidding.
4:29
SPEAKER_09: Helps a bundle.
4:30
SPEAKER_09: So anyway, it's not a cheap margarita by any sense of the imagination.
4:35
SPEAKER_09: Well, I am so glad.
4:37
SPEAKER_09: Here we are, another Sunday, and it is Margarita Day.
4:41
SPEAKER_09: February 22nd has been deemed Margarita Day.
4:44
SPEAKER_09: And you know, when I saw that on the calendar, the first the first thing I thought of, or the first person I thought of, or group for that, whatever you want to call it, was Jimmy Buffett.
4:55
SPEAKER_00: Jimmy Buffett.
4:56
SPEAKER_00: I mean, rightfully so.
4:57
SPEAKER_00: He I I don't know if he started his career with the margarita tropical vibes, but he that's definitely became his signature later on in his career.
5:07
SPEAKER_09: And you know, he was such a cool guy too, so I figured we'll we'll we're gonna we're gonna play uh Buffett tunes and we're gonna talk about margaritas.
5:14
SPEAKER_09: We'll talk a little bit about Jimmy himself.
5:17
SPEAKER_09: But I want to tell you this the origin the origin of the margarita is uh shrouded in mystery with several stories claiming to be the true beginning of the uh this iconic cocktail.
5:28
SPEAKER_09: And this uh here's here's one of the popular legends.
5:32
SPEAKER_09: Carlos Danny Herrera.
5:34
SPEAKER_09: One of the earliest claims dates to the 1940s, when Herrera, a Tijuana restaurant owner, created the margarita for a customer who was allergic to all spirits except that's a problem I wouldn't mind having.
5:51
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, to make it more palatable palatable, he combined uh, of course, with some lime juice and orange liqueur.
5:59
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I agree.
6:00
SPEAKER_09: And and you know, I I've always margar for some reason or another, margaritas has been my go-to drink.
6:07
SPEAKER_09: I don't drink anything, but margaritas always been kind of a go-to drink for me, especially if the house has got a good one.
6:13
SPEAKER_00: I I'm not crazy about margaritas, though I think it's because when I early on in my drinking career, when I turned to 21, when you hear margarita, you think of like the stuff that you'd get at at like chain restaurants that's like got a ton of sugar in it and is frozen into an inch of its life.
6:31
SPEAKER_00: That I don't like, but the margarita you make that's just lime juice, tequila, and whatever else you put into it, that's delicious.
6:38
SPEAKER_09: I'll give you the recipe.
6:39
SPEAKER_09: I won't give you the the the uh the measurements, but it's tequila.
6:44
SPEAKER_09: Well, I'll kind of it's equal amounts of tequila and lime juice.
6:47
SPEAKER_09: Okay.
6:47
SPEAKER_09: And if I have fresh limes, I do them s squoze.
6:50
SPEAKER_09: If not, I use that real lime from Lipton, I think it is.
6:53
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and that's fine too.
6:55
SPEAKER_09: Um and then Contro.
6:57
SPEAKER_00: Contro.
6:58
SPEAKER_09: Which is an orange liqueur.
7:00
SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
7:01
SPEAKER_09: So it's uh it's equal parts of um tequila and lime juice and half uh contro.
7:10
SPEAKER_09: Contro.
7:11
SPEAKER_00: Good to know.
7:11
SPEAKER_00: Good to know.
7:12
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because I like the refreshing nature of this.
7:14
SPEAKER_09: It is refreshing.
7:15
SPEAKER_00: Which fresh, refreshing kind of reminds me.
7:17
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what margarita means in Spanish?
7:20
SPEAKER_09: Oh, I do not.
7:21
SPEAKER_09: Oh, great!
7:22
SPEAKER_00: It means daisy.
7:25
SPEAKER_00: So you're feeling as fresh as a margarita.
7:27
SPEAKER_00: Oh, and what's kind of fun is I'm looking at different ways to say mar uh say daisy in different languages, and it's it's pretty much pretty average across the board.
7:39
SPEAKER_00: In Danish, it's marguerite.
7:41
SPEAKER_00: In in uh French it's marguerite.
7:44
SPEAKER_00: Um though when you get to German, the Germans are always different.
7:48
SPEAKER_00: And I'm so sorry I'm about to butcher this.
7:49
SPEAKER_00: The German word for daisy is Gansen Blumen.
7:54
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and I don't want that drink.
7:57
SPEAKER_09: That sounds like what you do after you've had too many.
7:59
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, you Gansen Blumen.
8:02
SPEAKER_00: My my dad used to have a a girl friend back way back in the day who um spoke fluent German.
8:09
SPEAKER_00: I don't know, I don't know if she was German or if she just spoke fluent German, but she was at her work one time and my dad went to go visit her.
8:17
SPEAKER_00: And uh she was all sweet and nice in English, but then when her her co-workers came in, she would be like Hussen, Fuschen, Huschen.
8:24
SPEAKER_00: He's like, I don't know what it says about me, but I thought that was pretty attractive.
8:28
SPEAKER_09: So Well, somebody told me a long a lady that I dated in high school said that Om de Ben was I love you in German.
8:35
SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
8:36
SPEAKER_09: I never looked it up, but I you know I don't believe it for sure.
8:39
SPEAKER_00: Well, you know what?
8:40
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna look that up.
8:41
SPEAKER_00: She could be messing with you because a lot of people who are fluent in other languages love to mess with people who don't speak the language.
8:47
SPEAKER_09: Well, listen, it's K S J E.
8:48
SPEAKER_09: I'm David.
8:49
SPEAKER_00: I'm Ren.
8:51
SPEAKER_00: I almost forgot I had too many margaritas.
8:54
SPEAKER_09: You haven't had that many yet.
8:56
SPEAKER_09: But we are gonna have a good time today.
8:58
SPEAKER_09: We'll talk a little bit about Jimmy Buffett too.
9:00
SPEAKER_09: We'll give some information.
9:00
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like where he's from, his whole vibe.
9:04
SPEAKER_00: Like, I didn't know.
9:05
SPEAKER_00: Can you tell me where he's from?
9:08
SPEAKER_09: Well, you know, I I first thing that comes to mind is somewhere around the Bay Area, the Gulf, but maybe not.
9:14
SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay, fair enough.
9:15
SPEAKER_00: No, he comes from uh Mississippi.
9:18
SPEAKER_09: Oh well that's close, but that's that's kinda yeah.
9:22
SPEAKER_00: But then also we had the show a couple of episodes ago, maybe it was even last week, where we were celebrating um Fat Tuesday.
9:30
SPEAKER_00: Right, right and we were talking about how Mississippi is so close to New Orleans, they kind of go hand in hand.
9:35
SPEAKER_00: And I wouldn't call Mississippi like explicitly tropical, but it does kind of have more of a I don't know, you think of the heat, you think of the the lakes and the rivers running through it.
9:46
SPEAKER_00: So even though he wasn't from Florida or or Hawaii or whatever vibe he's going for, I can see why he gravitated towards that.
9:53
SPEAKER_09: Well, listen, I I I will apologize up front because this t very few times do I get to pull music.
10:02
SPEAKER_09: And I pulled all the music, so you didn't have to do anything but sit over there and look pretty today.
10:06
SPEAKER_00: That's why I was so down for this show.
10:08
SPEAKER_00: Even though I I don't know much about Jimmy Buffett, and usually that's that can make me not want to do a show simply because I I can't speak knowledgeably on the subject.
10:17
SPEAKER_00: But when you were like, I'll pull all the music, I was like, okay, cool.
10:19
SPEAKER_00: Jimmy Buffett all day.
10:21
SPEAKER_09: Every day.
10:22
SPEAKER_09: Alright, well, let's have another one.
10:23
SPEAKER_00: Well, here's one that you pulled that I can absolutely love because I'm a bit of a Francophile, I'm a bit of a fan of France.
10:29
SPEAKER_00: This is uh Last Mango in Paris.
10:33
SPEAKER_09: This is an interesting song, too.
10:34
SPEAKER_09: The first time I heard it was today, I was I was monitoring it.
10:38
SPEAKER_00: It'll be the first time I heard too.
10:39
SPEAKER_06: I went down to Captain Tony to get out of the heat, and I heard a voice call out to me.
10:50
SPEAKER_06: Son, come have a seat.
10:54
SPEAKER_06: Had to search my memory as I looked into those eyes.
11:00
SPEAKER_06: My life changed like the weather, but a legend never died.
11:07
SPEAKER_06: He said I did the last angle in Paris.
11:11
SPEAKER_06: Took the last plan of slide, took the first letter to China, Jimmy, there's still so much to be done.
11:21
SPEAKER_06: I had a third-world girl in the oak with a pistol in each hand.
11:28
SPEAKER_06: She always kept me covered at move from left to land.
11:35
SPEAKER_06: I had a temper run on the wall street with my fashion model.
11:42
SPEAKER_06: I won't go drive a deep sky must stop it.
11:49
SPEAKER_06: I'm the last time.
11:57
SPEAKER_06: The first last debris for around the side.
12:21
SPEAKER_06: The sun fell from the sky.
12:25
SPEAKER_06: Like the sun disappeared for my very eyes.
12:31
SPEAKER_06: Somewhere past the went back to the head.
13:55
SPEAKER_06: Try to a minimum carnivorous habits.
13:59
SPEAKER_06: Made in L70 days.
14:06
SPEAKER_06: Drinking lots of carrots juice and soaking a race.
14:09
SPEAKER_06: But it's not had these wonderful grains.
14:13
SPEAKER_06: Some kind of centrist tree.
14:44
SPEAKER_06: They eat the same thing again and again.
14:47
SPEAKER_06: Walmart and brand, they said the raise of the Willy Roman menu at a holiday.
14:56
SPEAKER_06: Sailors these days.
14:58
SPEAKER_06: When I'm in port, I get what I need.
15:01
SPEAKER_06: I just tap animals or bananas with that goo reads.
15:04
SPEAKER_06: But let a miracle create all with a bee.
15:09
SPEAKER_06: Cheese seven.
16:35
SPEAKER_09: Good God of Marty, which way do I steer?
16:38
SPEAKER_00: That's that's funny.
16:39
SPEAKER_00: Uh that was Cheeseburger in Paradise.
16:41
SPEAKER_00: Is that what that was?
16:42
SPEAKER_00: That was.
16:43
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know if you could tell, but um that's funny.
16:46
SPEAKER_00: He says, Which way do I steer?
16:47
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if he's talking about it, but I was quickly looking over his biography on Wikipedia, and he learned how to sail when he was still pretty young from his grandfather, James Delaney Buffett, and that had a profound effect on his interests way later on into life.
17:03
SPEAKER_09: Oh, I'm sure.
17:04
SPEAKER_09: I'm sure.
17:05
SPEAKER_09: Well, here it is.
17:06
SPEAKER_09: Now think about this.
17:06
SPEAKER_09: There's a lot of twos in today's date.
17:09
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
17:09
SPEAKER_09: It's February 22nd, 2026.
17:13
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
17:14
SPEAKER_00: Two is the number.
17:15
SPEAKER_09: Two is two is the number.
17:19
SPEAKER_00: The number two.
17:22
SPEAKER_09: I don't want to do numbers.
17:24
SPEAKER_08: Ren and I like to humor him.
17:26
SPEAKER_08: Here's David Knees.
17:29
SPEAKER_09: Take it away, Dave.
17:30
SPEAKER_09: Oh, my Davidese has nothing to do with uh with two.
17:35
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I bet you were setting yourself up for that.
17:37
SPEAKER_09: No, but I could tell you were feeding right off of a part of the.
17:40
SPEAKER_09: I was like, twos.
17:42
SPEAKER_09: But you know, two, two.
17:43
SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
17:43
SPEAKER_09: I just thought it was kind of cute.
17:44
SPEAKER_09: Go ahead.
17:44
SPEAKER_09: Anyway, my David's for today is coffee.
17:48
SPEAKER_00: Oh, one of my favorite things in the whole world.
17:50
SPEAKER_09: Oh, mine too.
17:51
SPEAKER_09: But in my definition is a person who is coughed upon.
17:57
SPEAKER_00: But um sh a coffee.
18:00
SPEAKER_00: There's a there's a okay, I don't know if you've ever heard of it.
18:03
SPEAKER_00: It it was when it came out, very like underground comedy.
18:08
SPEAKER_00: Um, it's called Kung Pao Enter the Fist.
18:11
SPEAKER_00: And the the whole the whole joke is that this guy like redubs scenes from this classic uh kung fu movie, but instead of having everybody say the actual dialogue, he just makes them say ridiculous things.
18:24
SPEAKER_00: And there's a grandmaster who's like clearly sick and coughing, and he's like, someone goes, at least cover your mouth.
18:31
SPEAKER_00: Now we're all going to catch it.
18:33
SPEAKER_00: Derek and I say that to each other every time one of us coughs.
18:37
SPEAKER_09: That's cute.
18:38
SPEAKER_00: So that we don't become the coffee.
18:40
SPEAKER_09: You guys, you know, I'm glad I'm not around the both of you together a lot.
18:44
SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
18:44
SPEAKER_09: Because you'll make me sick.
18:46
SPEAKER_00: Because of how cute we are.
18:48
SPEAKER_09: Fair enough.
18:49
SPEAKER_09: Well, he's super cute.
18:50
SPEAKER_09: I like Derek a lot.
18:52
SPEAKER_09: And I know you do.
18:53
SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
18:54
SPEAKER_09: But, you know, obviously I love you, so it's kind of it gets a little st I don't know.
18:58
SPEAKER_09: It's like fucking sickness.
18:59
SPEAKER_00: You know, I love chocolate, but if I eat too much of it, I am gonna get sick.
19:03
SPEAKER_09: I respect it.
19:05
SPEAKER_00: Speaking of getting sick, I was gonna say too, in Cheeseburger in Paradise, he says he likes his cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato.
19:12
SPEAKER_00: Now I like my cheeseburger with tomato, but I do not like it with lettuce.
19:15
SPEAKER_09: Oh, really?
19:16
SPEAKER_09: Now see, I'd rather have lettuce and tomato.
19:18
SPEAKER_00: Well, oh really?
19:19
SPEAKER_00: Well, to me, maybe it's because I always eat burgers at joints that shred their lettuce.
19:24
SPEAKER_00: Oh.
19:24
SPEAKER_00: But it's the burger is hot and the lettuce wilts instantly when you put it on the hot burger.
19:29
SPEAKER_00: It just gets slimy.
19:31
SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
19:31
SPEAKER_00: So if I'm gonna have texture on my burger, I'd rather have it be with like onions or something.
19:36
SPEAKER_09: Well, I like onions on mine too.
19:38
SPEAKER_09: And you know when he was saying Heinz 57, I thought he was talking about the steak sauce.
19:42
SPEAKER_09: But it's ketchup in Heinz 57.
19:44
SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
19:44
SPEAKER_09: I'm not a big ketchup fan, but it's gotta have mustard for sure.
19:47
SPEAKER_09: And a little ketchup.
19:49
SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
19:49
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, a little mustard ketchup.
19:50
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know what?
19:52
SPEAKER_00: It's gotta have a lot of ketchup and no mustard.
19:54
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that's so you like the sweetness.
19:55
SPEAKER_09: I like the tartness.
19:57
SPEAKER_00: That's fair.
19:57
SPEAKER_00: Well, but see, I get the tartness from the pickles.
20:00
SPEAKER_09: True.
20:01
SPEAKER_00: The pickles have that nice vinegary taste.
20:03
SPEAKER_00: If you have pickles and mustard, it's too much.
20:06
SPEAKER_09: I'm glad we've discussed it.
20:08
SPEAKER_09: And that's in a paradise, right?
20:09
SPEAKER_00: And that's in my paradise.
20:12
SPEAKER_09: To me, like uh the best sushi in the world, I'd be in paradise.
20:15
SPEAKER_09: But you know, I'd cheeseburger be okay.
20:17
SPEAKER_00: Cheeseburger would be okay too.
20:19
SPEAKER_00: If I was in paradise, I would have sp uh spaghetti and meatballs.
20:22
SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah, I like spaghetti and meatballs.
20:25
SPEAKER_00: Though I was doing research on it earlier, and apparently spaghetti and meatballs is a very much like Italian American dish.
20:30
SPEAKER_09: Uh yes.
20:31
SPEAKER_00: It's not super common in Italy itself.
20:34
SPEAKER_00: And same with chicken Alfredo.
20:36
SPEAKER_00: Uh chicken Alfredo was invented by an Italian who, if I'm not mistaken, emigrated to America and invented it.
20:43
SPEAKER_00: It's still Italian.
20:44
SPEAKER_00: It's still Italian.
20:46
SPEAKER_00: And that's w you know, you bring up a good point.
20:48
SPEAKER_00: A lot of people talk about the Americanized versions of food as being false to their roots.
20:54
SPEAKER_00: And while they weren't invented in their home country, they were still invented by immigrants who came here and maybe had access to different ingredients they didn't have before and invented something new.
21:04
SPEAKER_00: So don't discount an Americanized dish.
21:06
SPEAKER_00: Just recognize it for what it is.
21:08
SPEAKER_09: I agree.
21:08
SPEAKER_09: Well, listen, I have no idea what we got in store coming up.
21:11
SPEAKER_09: If you have any, I do too.
21:14
SPEAKER_00: We have some cool ideas.
21:15
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, we do, we're gonna do the walk-up song.
21:17
SPEAKER_09: Um have not got any suggestions yet.
21:20
SPEAKER_00: Yes, walk-up songs, songs that you would want playing as you walked up to the stage.
21:24
SPEAKER_09: It's funny because Valerie, that's her idea, my hygienist.
21:27
SPEAKER_00: I think that's a great idea.
21:28
SPEAKER_09: I do too.
21:29
SPEAKER_09: And she's texting me the other day.
21:30
SPEAKER_09: So have I got do I get any money yet?
21:34
SPEAKER_00: Well, nobody's we haven't used it yet.
21:36
SPEAKER_00: That's what I told her.
21:37
SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
21:38
SPEAKER_00: What's uh what's a song that I would have playing as I walked up to the stage?
21:41
SPEAKER_00: I'm just looking at my my most recently liked songs.
21:45
SPEAKER_00: I think uh I would have Here It Goes Again by OK Go as my walk up song for today.
21:51
SPEAKER_00: It changes depending on the day.
21:53
SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
21:53
SPEAKER_09: Me too.
21:54
SPEAKER_00: Here it goes, here it goes, here it goes again.
21:56
SPEAKER_00: It just pumps me up.
21:57
SPEAKER_09: It would it it changes for me.
21:59
SPEAKER_09: And you know.
22:00
SPEAKER_09: I think I said it last show, I think.
22:01
SPEAKER_09: Did I talk about being in the tube when I had the M RI?
22:04
SPEAKER_09: Yes.
22:04
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, the song that was going through my mind.
22:06
SPEAKER_09: Which one is cotton balls getting rotten when you Yeah.
22:10
SPEAKER_09: Very much cotton.
22:13
SPEAKER_09: So that was my walk-up song.
22:14
SPEAKER_09: It was my comfort song.
22:16
SPEAKER_00: Good.
22:16
SPEAKER_09: Inside there in my head.
22:18
SPEAKER_09: I couldn't sing it out loud, although I wanted to.
22:20
SPEAKER_09: So yeah, I have different ones too, you know.
22:23
SPEAKER_09: A lot of them have to do with Bob Seeger.
22:25
SPEAKER_09: You know, all time rock and roll, that kind of stuff.
22:28
SPEAKER_00: I love Bob Seeger.
22:29
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
22:29
SPEAKER_00: Uh Hollywood Knights.
22:31
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, oh, another great one.
22:33
SPEAKER_00: Hollywood nights.
22:34
SPEAKER_09: There's another one too, I can't remember right off top of my bed.
22:36
SPEAKER_09: You know, we have off top of my bed.
22:39
SPEAKER_09: Um We have uh two um we have another spotlight on him.
22:45
SPEAKER_09: He might be something to look into as well.
22:47
SPEAKER_00: That's one of those acts that you almost feel like you don't need to recognize, but as as tastes change and and music knowledge changes, you know, we've got to bring Bob Seeger to the to the younger generation.
22:59
SPEAKER_00: They need to know how good he is.
23:02
SPEAKER_09: But anyway, if you have any suggestions and we use it, we're gonna pay you a hundred dollars, just send it to uh Interwest Concepts.com, all one word, all overcase.
23:11
SPEAKER_09: I N T E R W E S T.
23:14
SPEAKER_09: I can't look at you when I do this.
23:16
SPEAKER_00: Well, I try not to look at you.
23:17
SPEAKER_09: C E P T And you know, I I I found my book that I haven't had forever.
23:23
SPEAKER_09: It's got some old uh Chevelle Shepherd on there, and I think that's a Christmas card from you.
23:28
SPEAKER_00: That was our New Yeah, that was our New Year's Eve card.
23:31
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
23:32
SPEAKER_00: That was a fun photo shoot.
23:33
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that was a long time ago.
23:35
SPEAKER_00: It feels like forever ago, but it was only five years ago.
23:38
SPEAKER_09: Oh, really?
23:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
23:40
SPEAKER_00: Well, and it almost it it almost feels like well, okay, how do I say this?
23:44
SPEAKER_09: It was signed by Chevelle, too.
23:45
SPEAKER_00: Ooh, ooh, it could be a collector's item.
23:48
SPEAKER_00: No, you're good.
23:48
SPEAKER_00: It reminds me of the time I was fifteen.
23:50
SPEAKER_00: And uh I was fifteen in what?
23:53
SPEAKER_00: 2010, 2011?
23:55
SPEAKER_09: Something like that.
23:56
SPEAKER_00: And my mom said something like, Oh, that movie's only fifteen years old.
24:00
SPEAKER_00: That's not that old.
24:01
SPEAKER_00: And I went, Mom, that was my entire lifespan ago.
24:05
SPEAKER_00: She was like, But then now I think about it and I'll see something from 2011, which was only 15 years ago, and I go, it's not that long ago.
24:15
SPEAKER_00: But time is relative.
24:17
SPEAKER_09: As time goes on and you age and that's for me.
24:21
SPEAKER_00: Well, and and studies show the older you get, the the faster you perceive time going.
24:28
SPEAKER_00: That's why when you're a kid, an entire day at school feels like an eon.
24:32
SPEAKER_00: Whereas like one day of work as an adult is like, eh, yeah, I'll just get through it and then I'll come home and do my thing.
24:37
SPEAKER_09: Well, we're gonna take the show on the road too.
24:38
SPEAKER_09: We got a couple ideas for that.
24:40
SPEAKER_09: George had a suggested um our our own G O J G O J Suggested uh suggested I haven't had that many margaritas, I'm sorry.
24:51
SPEAKER_00: I'm the one who's had like three.
24:52
SPEAKER_09: He he gave he sent us an obscure eighties playlist.
24:56
SPEAKER_00: I love it.
24:56
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, we do.
24:57
SPEAKER_09: I love it.
24:58
SPEAKER_09: We'll do something like that.
24:59
SPEAKER_09: But if you guys have suggestions, let us know.
25:02
SPEAKER_09: We we were at one point we were like, what are we gonna do now?
25:05
SPEAKER_00: What are we gonna do now?
25:06
SPEAKER_09: But now we're getting flooded with it and we really appreciate it.
25:09
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
25:09
SPEAKER_00: It's almost reminded me um how big the music industry is and how long it's been around and how many different songs there are.
25:17
SPEAKER_00: Like I've said, I didn't live through the 80s personally, so while I can really appreciate the music from that time, I just don't know every single song that every artist has put out.
25:26
SPEAKER_00: The way that I might recognize, like if I think about the bands that I grew up loving, like Gorillas and Panic at the Disco and Okay Go.
25:33
SPEAKER_00: I mentioned them and we even did a show about them earlier.
25:38
SPEAKER_00: Oh no.
25:39
SPEAKER_00: Um I could tell you their B sides, but I couldn't tell you the B sides of like a popular 80s group.
25:45
SPEAKER_00: But you know what?
25:46
SPEAKER_00: Let's figure out what that beepin' was.
25:48
SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
25:49
SPEAKER_09: It's not the far alarm.
25:50
SPEAKER_09: Like, oh, I don't see any smoke.
25:52
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I mean we're saluding Jimmy Buffett, but we're calling the show it's Margaritaville today.
25:58
SPEAKER_09: It is Margarita not Margarita.
26:00
SPEAKER_09: It's Margarita, national Margarita Day.
26:01
SPEAKER_00: It's Margarita Day, we're living in Margaritaville, and we're bumping some Jimmy Buffett.
26:06
SPEAKER_09: We'll have some more history about margaritas too.
26:08
SPEAKER_00: And I might be more of a margarita connoisseur at this moment, but I also consider myself a bit of a whino.
26:15
SPEAKER_00: Uh so that's why I'm playing this song next.
26:17
SPEAKER_09: I would have called you that before then.
26:19
SPEAKER_00: Anybody who would know me knows I'm a bit of a whino.
26:22
SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna play The Wino and I Know by the good old Jimmy Buffett.
26:40
SPEAKER_06: The ice cream man, he's a hillbilly fan.
26:44
SPEAKER_06: Got seven ice by Hank Snow Walks down the street, shuffling his feet to a rhythm that only he knows And I've seen him in so many places I saw him the night I was born in a Bourbon Street bar.
27:09
SPEAKER_06: I received my first car from an old man to tatter tone And the wine owned I know the pain The street is singing like the door-to-door sails knows the paints a bell ringin' Strange situation, wild occupation, living my life like a song is strong, can't be marched.
27:37
SPEAKER_06: Donuts are too hard to touch Just like a food and ooh, sweet good is good.
27:45
SPEAKER_06: I eat till I eat way too much.
27:51
SPEAKER_06: I decided your lobster love is trying to get back Being quiet, shy In a world full of pushing shows And the wide open eye to paint a bag busted like armor no plane A bitch pick up truck rush Strange situation, wild occupation, living my life like a song We stay the wallet Back to the Allen I'm back to the state Back to the Open Place where I wanna be the one I know and I know the joy of the ocean like a boy knows the joy of his milk, chicken, motion.
28:48
SPEAKER_06: Strange situation, while occupation, living my life like a song.
28:56
SPEAKER_06: Yes, it's a strange situation, while occupation, living my life like a song Are you still here?
30:05
SPEAKER_06: So are we, W U C on KSJE on Sponge Kick, watching the sun bake, all of those tubes covered with oil, strummin my six train on my front porch sling, smell of shrimp devigin and divorce wishing away again in margarita searching for my law, sugar salt Some people claim that there's a wall but I know Snowbody's fault don't know the reason Stay here all season nothing to show but this brand new tattoo, but it's a real beauty I'm executing cute how I got here.
31:47
SPEAKER_06: I haven't a clue.
32:00
SPEAKER_06: Searching for my sugar song Some people claim that there's a wallet.
32:58
SPEAKER_06: Stepped on a pop-up.
33:02
SPEAKER_06: Could my heel head to cruise on back home?
33:09
SPEAKER_06: But this boo's in the blender And soon it will render That frozen concoction that helps me hang on Wish in a way again in my reader Searching for my sugar song Some people claim that there's a woman on the blame, but I know It's my own them some people claim that there's a woman on the blame that I know It's my own them home We're wasting again in Margaritaville with Jimmy Buffett on this beautiful Margarita Day K-S-J-E on the uh W U C the wake-up call with R and D for the L and G and everybody in between.
34:29
SPEAKER_09: We're having too much fun with that.
34:31
SPEAKER_00: And we are having too much fun.
34:32
SPEAKER_09: It's February 22nd, it's Margarita Day.
34:35
SPEAKER_00: It is, and um I was doing a little bit of reading on Jimmy Buffett because he's from Mississippi, which isn't you know, not tropical, but I wouldn't exactly explain it as tropical.
34:47
SPEAKER_00: It's humid, which isn't the same as being tropical.
34:51
SPEAKER_00: But I looked into it and um he went to college for a couple of years in the 60s.
34:56
SPEAKER_00: He was a frat boy in order to attract the ladies.
35:00
SPEAKER_00: We've all been there, except for me.
35:02
SPEAKER_00: But he tried to make it in the Nashville music scene and he just didn't like it.
35:07
SPEAKER_00: Um but he met somebody there who wasn't uh Jerry Jeff Walker.
35:12
SPEAKER_09: Oh wow.
35:13
SPEAKER_00: And he was invited uh Jimmy Buffett was invited to live at his place, Coconut Grove in Key West, Florida.
35:20
SPEAKER_00: And my brother lived.
35:22
SPEAKER_00: Really?
35:23
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
35:23
SPEAKER_00: That is cool, because that is where Jimmy Buffett loved learned to love the tropical life.
35:29
SPEAKER_00: He he became a busker, and he really fell in with this is what I thought was really cool.
35:33
SPEAKER_00: He really fell in with the literary scene there.
35:36
SPEAKER_00: So like he he became an acquaintance of Truman Capote, you know Truman Capote in cold blood, um, which I thought was really interesting.
35:44
SPEAKER_00: And he just had so much fun there that he moved there in the early 70s, and I think that really set him for his the tone of his career for the rest of his life.
35:52
SPEAKER_09: Wow, that is I I know, I wonder if my little brother knew that.
35:57
SPEAKER_09: I'm not even sure.
35:58
SPEAKER_00: When when a community knows that a famous person has come from that community, they will oftentimes let everybody know.
36:07
SPEAKER_09: Coconut Grove was a really cool place.
36:09
SPEAKER_09: I didn't really get to enjoy it because I was dealing with my brother's death.
36:12
SPEAKER_09: But um it yeah, very cool, very, very cool spot.
36:17
SPEAKER_09: Coconut Grove Well it it's suburb of Miami.
36:21
SPEAKER_09: I don't know, suburb, it's a city, but I don't know.
36:23
SPEAKER_00: It's it's one of those smaller cities off of Aztec from Farmington.
36:27
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
36:28
SPEAKER_00: And I wouldn't exactly describe Aztec as a suburb.
36:31
SPEAKER_00: It's just kind of a city, yeah.
36:33
SPEAKER_00: It's its own little town.
36:34
SPEAKER_09: All I know is it's got six old sore heads.
36:36
SPEAKER_00: That's six old soreheads.
36:38
SPEAKER_00: What does that mean?
36:39
SPEAKER_00: I see it on the sign every time I go through it.
36:41
SPEAKER_09: It's just they've always I can remember when I first moved here home of 3,200 friendly people and six old sore heads.
36:48
SPEAKER_00: That must be like the six people who like owned a company or a group that that donated to making that sign or something.
36:56
SPEAKER_09: It's funny.
36:57
SPEAKER_09: Anytime I see somebody or talk to somebody from Aztec, I always ask them, Are you one of the old soreheads?
37:02
SPEAKER_00: Well, yes, I am.
37:04
SPEAKER_09: Could have.
37:05
SPEAKER_09: Well then I have some more information about margaritas, the your their uh origination.
37:10
SPEAKER_09: Um and we're of course enjoying some of my recipe that I just absolutely adore.
37:15
SPEAKER_00: Me too.
37:15
SPEAKER_00: I think I'm on uh number.
37:18
SPEAKER_00: You don't need to know.
37:19
SPEAKER_00: All you need to know is I've had a few.
37:20
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, let's oh we probably should go, oh, going to have are you gonna be able to do the have you had are you gonna be able to do the Zen of Ren?
37:28
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I am in the perfect mindset to do the Zen of Ren.
37:33
SPEAKER_09: Alright, well let's have some more music and I'll make some more margaritas.
37:36
SPEAKER_00: Yes, but weren't you gonna say a fact or two about Margarita?
37:39
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I can.
37:39
SPEAKER_00: Uh give me at least one.
37:41
SPEAKER_09: Well, here's another uh story attributes the um the origination of Margarita to Margarita.
37:47
SPEAKER_09: Her name was Margarita, and I think it's same because it's spelt S-A-M-E-S because she was a Dallas socialite, and I think if you're from Texas, that's probably how you would pronounce that name.
37:57
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Americanized at the very least.
37:59
SPEAKER_09: Exactly.
38:00
SPEAKER_09: Who allegedly invented the drink in 1948 at her vacation home in Alcohol.
38:07
SPEAKER_09: She mixed her favorite spirits, tequila and contro, with some lime juice, which became the foundation of the modern margarita.
38:16
SPEAKER_00: For some reason that's the easiest for me to believe.
38:19
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, me too.
38:20
SPEAKER_00: I think after the fact, after something's been created, people like to create lofty mythological tales for how it came to be.
38:27
SPEAKER_00: But usually it's just because one really popular person was like, Here's this drink I made, and everyone likes it, and it spreads before you know it.
38:33
SPEAKER_09: It's so funny because I used to tell people, you know, I I wanted to retire in the mountains, but the older I got, the cold just doesn't mix well with my bones.
38:42
SPEAKER_09: Fair enough.
38:43
SPEAKER_09: And so my my goal now is to retire on the beach, and I would used to say, uh, you'll the next time you'll see me, my butt'll be in the sand, my toes will be in the water, and a pretty cabana girl will be bringing me margaritas.
38:58
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's the way to live.
39:00
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
39:00
SPEAKER_00: No, I'm I'm of the same mind.
39:02
SPEAKER_00: Um though, you know, Jimmy Buffett usually likes to create stories about like this this fun tropical escape world.
39:10
SPEAKER_00: Even Margaritaville, even though it's about a guy who's in a down place.
39:15
SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, he's still in paradise.
39:17
SPEAKER_00: That's right.
39:17
SPEAKER_00: This is a song I have not heard before, but but I relate to it already just from the title.
39:22
SPEAKER_09: I can only I can only think because there were several in there that I wanted to play something obscure for sure.
39:28
SPEAKER_00: This is one I have not heard before, but I love it.
39:31
SPEAKER_00: It says the title is My Head Hurts, My Feet Stink, and I Don't Love Jesus.
39:38
SPEAKER_00: Great for the Bible belt right there.
39:42
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I have a lot to say about it, but I'll I'll let Jimmy Buffett speak for himself.
39:46
SPEAKER_00: Let's play it.
39:47
SPEAKER_09: Sounds good to me.
40:12
SPEAKER_06: And I don't love Jesus.
40:16
SPEAKER_06: That kind of morning, really was that kind of night.
40:21
SPEAKER_06: Tryna tell myself that my condition is improving at it.
40:26
SPEAKER_06: I don't die, but Thursday I'll be roaring Friday night.
40:30
SPEAKER_06: Went down to the snake pit Drink a little beer.
40:36
SPEAKER_06: Listen to the jukebox, the mood was coming in clear.
40:42
SPEAKER_06: All of a sudden I went along, making country music with old Joe Ball.
40:47
SPEAKER_06: Uball Street was rockin'.
40:50
SPEAKER_06: My eyes started by there.
40:53
SPEAKER_06: She sat at the corner of the bar as I broke another string on my old guitar.
40:58
SPEAKER_06: Someone call again.
41:00
SPEAKER_06: Little tapping out my head hurts.
41:04
SPEAKER_06: My feet stink and I don't love cheap.
41:09
SPEAKER_06: It's that kind of morning.
41:11
SPEAKER_06: Really was that kind of night.
41:14
SPEAKER_06: Tryna tell myself that my condition is improved and ever.
41:19
SPEAKER_06: I don't die, but Thursday I'll be roaring Friday night.
41:24
SPEAKER_06: Got to get a little orange juice.
41:26
SPEAKER_06: And a dark on for my head.
41:29
SPEAKER_06: I can't spend all day.
41:31
SPEAKER_06: Baby laying in the bed.
41:34
SPEAKER_06: I'm going out to bounce those.
41:37
SPEAKER_06: Get some chocolate milk and spend my life in your seats.
41:40
SPEAKER_06: I've got to find my way.
41:43
SPEAKER_06: Crawl out of my head.
41:48
SPEAKER_06: And I don't love cheap.
41:51
SPEAKER_06: Zach kind of morning.
41:53
SPEAKER_06: Really was that kind of night.
41:56
SPEAKER_06: Tryna tell myself that my condition is improving.
42:01
SPEAKER_06: And if I don't die, but Thursday I'll be roaring frightening.
42:06
SPEAKER_06: Never today I'll be roaring fright.
42:20
SPEAKER_08: Like what you're hearing?
42:22
SPEAKER_08: Well, if not, kiss off.
42:25
SPEAKER_08: Oh no, just kidding.
42:26
SPEAKER_08: Stick around, it'll get better.
42:28
SPEAKER_08: W E C on KSJE.
42:55
SPEAKER_06: I don't smoke, I don't shoot smack.
42:58
SPEAKER_06: But I got a spicy monkey riding on my back.
43:02
SPEAKER_06: Don't eat binny, it's too much sugar and no buttons.
43:05
SPEAKER_06: I will wave a gumbo.
43:08
SPEAKER_06: Yes, I will be gumbo.
43:11
SPEAKER_06: It started at my grandma's in her kitchen by the steed.
43:14
SPEAKER_06: She warned me when she told me stun, the first one's free.
43:18
SPEAKER_06: It hit me like a rocket's stomach.
43:20
SPEAKER_06: Taekwondo called I will be gumbo.
43:24
SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah, I will be gumbo.
43:34
SPEAKER_06: It's a little light and a lot of lights.
43:40
SPEAKER_06: It's not in the quarter noon and never do.
43:44
SPEAKER_06: I will play the gumbo.
43:46
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I will play the gumbo.
43:49
SPEAKER_06: I'm not talking tasting deals or a dozen crispy creams or a pound of caveat.
43:54
SPEAKER_06: That's a rich man's dream.
43:56
SPEAKER_06: No banana split off, Pila Papa no, no, I will play the gumbo.
44:02
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I will play the gumbo.
44:05
SPEAKER_02: Go ahead and do it.
44:19
SPEAKER_05: Mr.
44:19
SPEAKER_05: Prince River, Mr.
44:20
SPEAKER_05: White Mumbo.
44:22
SPEAKER_05: Good for the potter, good for the stove, just a little like for this little lot of light stuff.
44:31
SPEAKER_06: Maybe it's the sausage of those pretty pink shrimp.
44:34
SPEAKER_06: Or that popcorn rice that makes me blow up like a blimp.
44:38
SPEAKER_06: Maybe it's that voodoo from Maria.
44:44
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I'll big up his cooking on the stage.
44:50
SPEAKER_06: Mr.
44:51
SPEAKER_06: Renana singin' for his nightly away.
44:54
SPEAKER_06: Squinana went from his head to his toes.
44:57
SPEAKER_06: Ranana squin with the gumbo.
45:00
SPEAKER_06: Ring on the gumbo.
45:03
SPEAKER_06: Mr.
45:04
SPEAKER_06: Red with the white bum.
45:13
SPEAKER_06: You can never know when you gon' get in the court.
45:18
SPEAKER_06: Don't ever know.
45:20
SPEAKER_06: Output gumbo.
45:28
unknown: Yeah.
46:30
SPEAKER_09: Dings.
46:31
SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
46:31
SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
46:32
SPEAKER_00: Though you said you were made for gumbo.
46:35
SPEAKER_00: I think both are kind of interchangeable.
46:38
SPEAKER_00: And that's funny because uh Jimmy Buffett before he moved to Key West um had a bit of uh a life in um New Orleans, Nollins, as it was.
46:47
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
46:48
SPEAKER_00: On and he even played at a uh club, the Bayou Room Night Club on Bourbon Street.
46:54
SPEAKER_00: Sweet.
46:54
SPEAKER_00: So along with being a tropical dude, he also respects the Nollins nightlife.
46:58
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, been there.
46:59
SPEAKER_09: Well it is National Margarita Day and it's celebrated annually on the 22nd.
47:04
SPEAKER_09: It uh is it was founded to honor the margarita and its uh cultural significance because it does, or it is culturally significant.
47:12
SPEAKER_00: I agree.
47:13
SPEAKER_09: Today encourages not you to drink, but to enjoy enthusiasts to enjoy a refreshing cocktail, which is typically made with tequila, lime juice, and triple sec.
47:22
SPEAKER_09: The celebration has grown in popularity with bars and restaurants offering special margarita deals in advance and obviously different recipes.
47:30
SPEAKER_09: Now the cultural significance, the margarita has become a staple in American drinking culture, especially during the 1970s and 80s.
47:39
SPEAKER_09: Quote Sounded out.
47:44
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, never mind.
47:46
SPEAKER_09: With the rise of the Mexican cuisine in the U.S., so it kind of came with the Mexican cuisine.
47:52
SPEAKER_00: Very cool.
47:53
SPEAKER_09: The establishment of the National Margarita Day was um further solidified in its place as one of the most popular cocktails in the country, celebrated for its versatility, versatility and the joy it brings to gatherings.
48:09
SPEAKER_09: Break out the margarita, baby.
48:10
SPEAKER_09: Break it out, and it's a party.
48:13
SPEAKER_00: And even if you're not drinking, I think you can still appreciate the cultural impact.
48:17
SPEAKER_00: You can make yourself a virgin margarita.
48:20
SPEAKER_00: There's lots of ways to, you know, twist out the blender, put some lime juice, some orange juice.
48:25
SPEAKER_00: I'm sh I mean, I'm sure there's better virgin margarita recipes out there than what I'm listing off.
48:30
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, when you said virgin, I'm like, okay, so what would we do?
48:33
SPEAKER_09: But the orange juice is ideal.
48:35
SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
48:35
SPEAKER_09: So the lime juice is a little bit more.
48:38
SPEAKER_09: Oh, absolutely.
48:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, it's much like a pina colada.
48:41
SPEAKER_00: Even if you don't put rum in a pina colada, it's still gonna be delicious.
48:45
SPEAKER_00: So I I feel the same way about a margarita.
48:47
SPEAKER_00: You can still participate even if you're not drinking.
48:49
SPEAKER_03: I agree.
48:50
SPEAKER_00: And once again, like I kind of mentioned in the first half of the episode, I think the margarita is uh a mix of cultures.
48:56
SPEAKER_00: It's American culture, it's Mexican culture, it's immigrant culture.
49:00
SPEAKER_00: And um, I think celebrating margarita day is a great way to esta uh celebrate our roots as a country, as a melting pot.
49:07
SPEAKER_09: So if you're having a margarita today, lift it up high and and say, I love WUC.
49:14
SPEAKER_09: When it comes down to it, like R and D.
49:18
SPEAKER_00: We're the ones to celebrate baby.
49:22
SPEAKER_00: You know, um I was looking at uh Jimmy Buffett's career, and it's a long and and interesting one.
49:29
SPEAKER_00: Though I think a lot of people my age, probably maybe a little older, maybe more the Gen Xers.
49:35
SPEAKER_00: Right.
49:35
SPEAKER_00: I'm a millennial, late millennial, baby millennial as I put it.
49:39
SPEAKER_00: So I think the Gen Xers might recognize just the term Margaritaville for the uh chain of restaurants that Jimmy Buffett opened in starting in the late eighties.
49:49
SPEAKER_09: See, I didn't know he had opened a chain of restaurants.
49:51
SPEAKER_00: Well, there is, and it's funny because a couple years ago, about two years ago, a beloved YouTuber now that's a career uh a career, maybe career isn't the correct correct word, but a type of creative that uh establishes themselves on the youth the the website YouTube.
50:09
SPEAKER_00: It's extremely popular with younger millennials, Gen Z, Gen Alpha.
50:12
SPEAKER_00: Um Eddie Burbach, who is also a comedian, um, he went to every single margaritaville in the country and raided each and every one.
50:22
SPEAKER_09: Wow, I need to look that up.
50:24
SPEAKER_00: He went on a road trip, he went on planes, trains, and automobiles, and uh it's a fun little video.
50:31
SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, no.
50:33
SPEAKER_00: If only but I watched the video, it's pretty good.
50:36
SPEAKER_00: He's he's a little scathing, but I don't think that's a knock on Jimmy Buffett himself.
50:41
SPEAKER_00: I think it's more of a knock on like how sometimes corporate America can take a fun little idea and stretch it until it's just milk and milk it until it's it's gone too far.
50:53
SPEAKER_00: But that being said, I mean shout out to John Jimmy Buffett for being a cool uh business dude.
50:59
SPEAKER_00: But we're still celebrating his music today.
51:01
SPEAKER_09: God rest his soul.
51:03
SPEAKER_00: God rest his soul died in nineteen in nineteen in twenty twenty-three.
51:06
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, not that long ago.
51:07
SPEAKER_00: Not that long ago.
51:09
SPEAKER_00: Uh but I'm gonna play another song before we run too much out of time.
51:13
SPEAKER_00: And I don't know the the concept of this song.
51:17
SPEAKER_00: It's called Pencil Thin Mustache.
51:21
SPEAKER_09: It's talking about the and if if I remember correctly, as I've heard it before it's been a long time, but it's talking about those Hollywood movie stars from years ago.
51:28
SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay, yes.
51:29
SPEAKER_09: It's a pencil thin mustache.
51:31
SPEAKER_09: I believe that's what it's about, but we'll find out.
51:34
SPEAKER_00: No, that makes sense.
51:35
SPEAKER_00: Because when I hear pencil thin mustache, I think of like almost like a bad guy from a movie.
51:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
51:39
SPEAKER_00: His pencil thin mustache, these twirling in between his fingers.
51:42
SPEAKER_09: That's a handlebar mustache.
51:44
SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
51:45
SPEAKER_00: See, let's listen to the song and then I'll be a little bit more educated.
51:48
SPEAKER_09: There you go.
51:56
SPEAKER_06: Now they're making movies in all black and white, with a happy ending when nobody fights.
52:03
SPEAKER_06: So if you find yourself in that nice style, you're grage how you jump right up and show your egg.
52:14
SPEAKER_06: I wish you had a pants and mustache.
52:18
SPEAKER_06: Balls like a kind.
52:21
SPEAKER_06: You don't rig your cartoon jacket and an autograph.
52:29
SPEAKER_06: I remember beat up to skin right and a letter got me.
52:36
SPEAKER_06: And you I wish I had a handle that must that I could solve some mysteries to the land going up fast.
52:48
SPEAKER_06: Rickin' on a big ID.
52:52
SPEAKER_06: And Rama rub the jungle.
52:54
SPEAKER_06: Everyone's for one of the old test musician.
52:58
SPEAKER_06: Open marijuana, yeah.
53:00
SPEAKER_06: Wish I had a pencil in my steps.
53:03
SPEAKER_06: Then I could stop the mistress.
53:27
SPEAKER_06: Rub it on the living room, floor, so college.
53:32
SPEAKER_06: Try to gain a little knowledge, but all you wanna do is learn how to score.
53:38
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, old, don't wear underwear.
53:42
SPEAKER_06: I don't go to church and I don't cut my hair, but I can go to move it, see it all there.
53:49
SPEAKER_06: Just the way that it used to be.
53:53
SPEAKER_06: That's why I wish I had a pencil thin mustache.
53:58
SPEAKER_06: A box black kind A tutom rigor, Ricardo jacket and an autograph picture and it's a why anyone I wanna beat.
54:13
SPEAKER_06: Waver playing on the cheap power beat.
54:20
SPEAKER_06: Then I could use to cruise in two.
54:24
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, real cream, a little devil to you.
54:28
SPEAKER_06: I could do some cruise in two.
54:36
SPEAKER_08: Oh, the wake-up call is almost over for another week, and it's time to get your zen on with the Zen of Rand.
54:48
SPEAKER_00: I thought this one kind of fit with the tropical vibe.
54:51
SPEAKER_00: Okay, though not explicitly.
54:54
SPEAKER_00: Oh, sunlight, the most precious gold to be found on earth.
54:59
SPEAKER_00: Roman pain.
55:01
SPEAKER_09: You are absolutely right.
55:03
SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
55:04
SPEAKER_09: Vitamin D.
55:05
SPEAKER_09: Nice sun tan, good skin color.
55:07
SPEAKER_00: Well, you think about it too.
55:09
SPEAKER_00: There's like, I mean, I know it's not in the the DSM 5.
55:12
SPEAKER_00: That's the the the manual that that psychologists and psychiatrists use to diagnose people.
55:18
SPEAKER_00: But um what is it?
55:20
SPEAKER_00: Uh seasonal depression.
55:23
SPEAKER_00: Like you don't have enough sunlight and it it affects your brain's ability to function.
55:28
SPEAKER_00: Like there's something about humans we need sunlight to function.
55:32
SPEAKER_09: Have you ever visited Seattle?
55:34
SPEAKER_00: No, but my mom and my dad and my sister lived there before I was born.
55:39
SPEAKER_09: Well, I don't know.
55:40
SPEAKER_09: They get very little sun.
55:43
SPEAKER_09: They didn't get they used to uh not get much sunlight.
55:46
SPEAKER_09: I mean, there's so much of any many days a year.
55:49
SPEAKER_09: And um and at one time it was like the capital of suicide was the home.
55:56
SPEAKER_00: Well it's I mean, not that it's hand in hand, but that is where the grunge movement started in the early nineteen nineties.
56:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, those were like nirvana and pearl jam, like the the really kind of s sad music really started.
56:12
SPEAKER_00: So I mean, and there's something to be said about that.
56:15
SPEAKER_00: I I love a rainy day.
56:17
SPEAKER_00: Um but yeah, so did Eddie Raymond.
56:19
SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say, Well, I love a rainy night.
56:23
SPEAKER_00: But when you get too many of them in a row, it's a little bit.
56:26
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and I don't know the facts about that uh uh suicide stuff, but I that's just stuff that I'd heard.
56:32
SPEAKER_09: And I'd visited there, and it w you know it was sunshiny, but the gosh, the seafood, oh my gosh.
56:38
SPEAKER_00: And you know what's funny is the only time I've ever been to Seattle was when I was a teenager.
56:43
SPEAKER_00: I was visiting my friend who actually lived in Idaho.
56:45
SPEAKER_00: We were going to Sakura Con, which is an anime convention in Seattle, um, or near Seattle, and we went to Seattle for a day, and there's so much like Japanese culture in Seattle, which is really interesting.
56:58
SPEAKER_00: I mean, it makes sense, it's a coastal city.
57:00
SPEAKER_09: It's not that far from Japan either.
57:01
SPEAKER_00: I mean, if you're doing the math, I wouldn't know off the top of your own.
57:04
SPEAKER_09: Not as far.
57:05
SPEAKER_09: It is still far, but yeah.
57:06
SPEAKER_00: But kind of similar to like it's it's on the same coast as California.
57:10
SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
57:12
SPEAKER_00: But uh, we gotta get out of here, Dave, before too much time to do that.
57:15
SPEAKER_09: I've been having so much fun, and we're out we are out of margaritas.
57:18
SPEAKER_00: So I think it's we are, so it's time to end the day.
57:20
SPEAKER_09: That's right.
57:21
SPEAKER_00: But I'll play us one more Jimmy Buffett song.
57:23
SPEAKER_00: This is something about a boat.
57:26
SPEAKER_00: And uh Yes, indeed.
57:28
SPEAKER_09: All right, well listen, y'all.
57:29
SPEAKER_09: If you have any suggestions, drop us a line.
57:31
SPEAKER_09: Interwissconcepts.com.
57:32
SPEAKER_09: All one word all lowercase.
57:33
SPEAKER_09: Rand, I'll see you next week.
57:34
SPEAKER_00: So long, buddy.
57:35
SPEAKER_00: Asta Lavista.
57:36
SPEAKER_00: Love you, love you too, baby.
57:48
SPEAKER_06: Something about a boat sitting on the sea, out there in the wind, floating on the free, dig around the world, bring you back home, gives a man hope.
58:10
SPEAKER_06: Something about a boat, something about an old guitar, and the way it still sings.
58:19
SPEAKER_06: After all the smoky bars, and the broken strings, play it a million songs, broke a lot of hearts, made some people stars.
58:34
SPEAKER_06: Something about an old guitar.
58:37
SPEAKER_06: Ain't it crazy how something seems like nothing at all?
58:43
SPEAKER_06: Take a big old room, make it seem so small.
58:50
SPEAKER_06: See in the windows where they are makes a whole lot of something out of nothing at all.
59:02
SPEAKER_06: Something about your doll.
59:05
SPEAKER_06: See by a side.
59:08
SPEAKER_06: If you had a bad day, she'll run a high.
59:14
SPEAKER_06: Just a wagging that tail.
59:18
SPEAKER_06: Read in the heck really.
59:21
SPEAKER_06: Something about the doll.
59:23
SPEAKER_06: Makes her my best friend.
59:26
SPEAKER_06: Any crazy hat something seems like nothing.
59:33
SPEAKER_06: Take a big up around.
59:36
SPEAKER_06: Make it seems so small.
59:39
SPEAKER_06: See you.
59:54
SPEAKER_06: Out of nothing at all.
59:58
SPEAKER_06: Something about a doll.
1:00:00
SPEAKER_06: Something about an old guitar.
1:00:04
SPEAKER_06: Something about a boat.
1:00:07
SPEAKER_06: Gives a man house.
1:00:20
SPEAKER_08: That's it for another week.
1:00:23
SPEAKER_08: This is the voice of George of the Jungle coming to you from the mouth of George of the Jungle, telling you to join us next week for more WUC with the voices of Ren and David coming out of their mouths.
1:00:35
SPEAKER_08: Until next time.
1:00:37
SPEAKER_08: Excellent to each other.
1:00:39
SPEAKER_07: Always wear your clean and we're.
