- 0:02Speaker 2: That's why I is a founding member of the Odd
- 0:04Speaker 2: Pods Media Network.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Hello, and welcome to episode two seventy six of bfy
- 0:42Speaker 3: tw We're going book club in book club, book club.
- 0:47Speaker 1: It's a one type of club and I've never done
- 0:49Speaker 1: I know, oh sweet first time.
- 0:51Speaker 3: It's a first for you.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Uh.
- 0:53Speaker 4: No.
- 0:54Speaker 3: At our local bookstore recently had a writer's night and
- 0:58Speaker 3: I was allowed to read some passages from my book Thane,
- 1:02Speaker 3: and people really seem to like it. They sold out twice,
- 1:07Speaker 3: so it was it was a pretty good night. But
- 1:09Speaker 3: I ran into these two lovely ladies and we had
- 1:12Speaker 3: so much fun talking about books. I was like, we
- 1:15Speaker 3: should do a full episode about books, a topic I
- 1:19Speaker 3: know is near and dear to Stevie and August Cart,
- 1:22Speaker 3: this is gonna be amazing.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I am so excited. We're on the same boat. It's
- 1:29Speaker 1: gonna be great.
- 1:31Speaker 3: So because words are hard for me, yeah, so uh.
- 1:36Speaker 5: To make.
- 1:39Speaker 3: This as unfair and unbalanced as possible, I've decided to
- 1:43Speaker 3: team ladies up together versus the dream Team over here,
- 1:48Speaker 3: and we're gonna play three silly games all about books,
- 1:50Speaker 3: and we're hopefully gonna have a great time and hopefully
- 1:53Speaker 3: enjoy listening and playing along. But we're gonna find out,
- 1:57Speaker 3: I guess. So let's get to that.
- 1:59Speaker 1: We're gonna have a horrible.
- 2:02Speaker 3: First of all, I would like to introduce our special guests.
- 2:05Speaker 3: First of all, she's an old high school friend, a
- 2:07Speaker 3: dear friend. She's a professional data analyst and a semi
- 2:12Speaker 3: professional Chaos Goblin's first time on the show. Welcome, thank you,
- 2:19Speaker 3: thank you, and.
- 2:20Speaker 6: Just chaos Goblin. I'm expecting to go pro very soon.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Okay, yes, she's out there in the ranks, I can
- 2:28Speaker 3: tell you for certain. And what as a by way
- 2:32Speaker 3: of introduction, I always like to ask a question, So
- 2:35Speaker 3: what is your absolute favorite book?
- 2:40Speaker 6: This is a terrible question.
- 2:44Speaker 1: He does it to us all the time.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Sorry, So it's entirely dependent upon mood.
- 2:50Speaker 6: I'm going to say anything by Ambe Bishop.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mentioned her to me before. I'm gonna
- 2:55Speaker 3: have to look into and Bishop. All right, very cool,
- 2:59Speaker 3: very cool. And her teammate it's Casey. I would have
- 3:06Speaker 3: given I would have put a more stank on that,
- 3:09Speaker 3: but she said, just Casey is fine. So there we go.
- 3:12Speaker 7: I gave you creative liberties. Okay, it's okay. Just Casey
- 3:18Speaker 7: is fine, the.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Furniture slipper, the designer master, remember the cold Play lover?
- 3:26Speaker 3: There you go, got it, Casey, What is your favorite book? Oh?
- 3:33Speaker 7: Gosh, Well, considering I am not the biggest reader in
- 3:38Speaker 7: the world, but I have recently gotten back into reading
- 3:43Speaker 7: a little bit more. But I think my favorite book
- 3:47Speaker 7: would have to be either I would say The Great
- 3:52Speaker 7: Gatsby or like the double worst product.
- 3:55Speaker 1: That's a book.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Before?
- 4:00Speaker 1: Why does it always go that way? Why can't it
- 4:01Speaker 1: be a movie first and then a book after?
- 4:03Speaker 3: They do do that?
- 4:04Speaker 1: Holy shit?
- 4:05Speaker 8: Really, books are usually not great, but the movies are awesome, right,
- 4:10Speaker 8: which is funny because usually the book on a movie
- 4:12Speaker 8: adaption is usually not great either.
- 4:14Speaker 9: Yeah they do well, Yeah, that's fair.
- 4:19Speaker 3: It seems to lose quality for whatever reason. But I
- 4:22Speaker 3: did read the novelizations of both Star Wars and The
- 4:25Speaker 3: Empire Strikes Back, and I remember thinking I'd rather be
- 4:29Speaker 3: watching the movie.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I can't use the lightsabers in my mind. George will
- 4:34Speaker 1: sue me.
- 4:36Speaker 3: That sounds about right. All right, Well, ladies, you'll be
- 4:39Speaker 3: working together to take on these two miscreants. First, he's
- 4:43Speaker 3: a gamer and a storyteller, and he used to be
- 4:45Speaker 3: my youngest friend. Now he's just Augie hi aggy yay, yes,
- 4:50Speaker 3: just Ogie. What is your favorite book of all time?
- 4:57Speaker 10: The serious answer is Where the Wild Things Are?
- 5:00Speaker 3: Oh Ship, good choice.
- 5:02Speaker 11: I grew up on that book. Hell yeah, right, I
- 5:05Speaker 11: got read to every other night for it. The unseious
- 5:11Speaker 11: answer is looking forward to this The Curse of Oak Island.
- 5:19Speaker 9: It is a book telling the story of probably the longest.
- 5:23Speaker 8: Treasure hunt that ever existed, so long in fact, that
- 5:29Speaker 8: they still haven't found anything.
- 5:31Speaker 3: But they're getting there.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I know they are.
- 5:34Speaker 9: I'm almost at the end of the book too, so
- 5:36Speaker 9: I'm getting there as well.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I've seen that show.
- 5:38Speaker 9: I'll finish the book when they finished. Finding the treasure.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Might be a world, It might be a bit.
- 5:44Speaker 1: You have to finish the book to find the treasure.
- 5:46Speaker 9: Maybe maybe the Maybe the treasure is the book all along.
- 5:51Speaker 7: It's like the monster at the end of the book.
- 5:54Speaker 3: The friendship made along the way.
- 5:58Speaker 10: Are there you go?
- 6:00Speaker 3: And the millions of dollars we spent in this expedition.
- 6:02Speaker 3: That's alright, all right, I do like that. Okay. And finally,
- 6:10Speaker 3: uh he is a podcaster and a veteran, and by
- 6:14Speaker 3: his law that makes him a veteran podcaster.
- 6:16Speaker 1: It'sh ship legally now you can't say anything else.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Also the fact that you've been doing this for over
- 6:23Speaker 3: ten years.
- 6:24Speaker 1: It's insane.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Man.
- 6:25Speaker 9: Wow, yeah, it's not right.
- 6:28Speaker 3: He's old he's old school.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know you're more into.
- 6:32Speaker 3: The listening of words. Yes, what is your favorite book
- 6:36Speaker 3: of all time?
- 6:37Speaker 1: I want to say, Where's Waldo does Germany?
- 6:40Speaker 4: But the only problem only Where's Waldo does Germany?
- 6:46Speaker 3: And it was great?
- 6:47Speaker 1: It was great, like it was, it's really fun.
- 6:49Speaker 4: It took me a while longer than it from the
- 6:50Speaker 4: for his other series is because the other ones were
- 6:52Speaker 4: in English, Like it's so much easier to find somebody when.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It's in English versus like when it's in German.
- 6:59Speaker 3: So how how it's the same image.
- 7:02Speaker 1: It's a different language, man, different book.
- 7:04Speaker 3: He wears a striped shirt, he's not wearing words.
- 7:07Speaker 7: Wait a second, so you are talking about the actual
- 7:09Speaker 7: like picture books. Yeah, okay, yeah, I was thinking it
- 7:12Speaker 7: was something else.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Yeah, always back, but they're darker, it's more cool.
- 7:18Speaker 9: Yeah, the strip and then they like the snow hat,
- 7:20Speaker 9: the stripe hat.
- 7:21Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not gonna lie with oh that would
- 7:23Speaker 4: have been audience but I do have another one, and
- 7:29Speaker 4: it is Batman's The Killing Joke novel. That was an amazing,
- 7:34Speaker 4: amazing book. Uh god, I'm gonna have to freaking read
- 7:38Speaker 4: it again. I have an upstairs in a box shield
- 7:40Speaker 4: and stuff, but fuck it. But there's also there's also
- 7:45Speaker 4: an animated adaptation of that, so you can watch that,
- 7:49Speaker 4: and it is scene for scene. They're able to do
- 7:51Speaker 4: that because it's animation. You watch any DC live action garbage,
- 7:54Speaker 4: you're not gonna get that. So Batman Killing Joke, check out.
- 7:59Speaker 9: The video or a book.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Okaycounts graphic now counts, guys, team.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I am not surprised that the book Stevie chose included pictures.
- 8:16Speaker 3: And finally, I'm your host. Pants's Aaron, And if I
- 8:19Speaker 3: had to pick one that wasn't one of the ones
- 8:21Speaker 3: I'd written, I would probably go I would probably go
- 8:26Speaker 3: with just because I've read it so many times. The
- 8:31Speaker 3: Bulgariad by David and Lee Endings as a fan. It's
- 8:35Speaker 3: actually five novels in it, but it's I can't pick
- 8:38Speaker 3: a I can't. I'm sorry, I can't. I love that
- 8:42Speaker 3: series so much. I've re read it again and again
- 8:44Speaker 3: and again and again, like you said practically every two years,
- 8:47Speaker 3: if not more so. I just I just love that.
- 8:50Speaker 3: It's my favorite fantasy adventure of all time. And yes,
- 8:55Speaker 3: five novels in a trench coat. There's a sequel series, uh,
- 8:59Speaker 3: and it's it's it's five novels in a in a
- 9:03Speaker 3: horse costume.
- 9:05Speaker 12: So just that.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Just the front part. They're both, they're both really good,
- 9:12Speaker 3: but the first one is the one that actually gave
- 9:13Speaker 3: me my love of fantasy. So that's that's why I
- 9:17Speaker 3: that's why I absolutely love it, and it's a large
- 9:20Speaker 3: part of the inspiration behind my second book, Break and
- 9:23Speaker 3: the inevitability of life. Plug plug plug. Okay, so shall
- 9:28Speaker 3: we get to some games. Let's have some fun, all right.
- 9:31Speaker 3: So our first game is gonna be the cost is correct.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I have five recently finished auctions, and all our players
- 9:39Speaker 3: have to do is bid as close as possible to
- 9:41Speaker 3: the final auction price of the item without going over.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Whichever player manages to bid closest without going over wins
- 9:48Speaker 3: that listing for their team. First team to three listings
- 9:51Speaker 3: wins the whole game and gets one episode point and surprise, surprise,
- 9:56Speaker 3: these are all books, oh awesome, or collections of books.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Okay, cool comics.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Yeah sweet, all right, we'll let's get coloring.
- 10:06Speaker 7: Coloring, take coloring.
- 10:12Speaker 3: As as as the ladies are special guests, I'm going
- 10:18Speaker 3: to give them the advantage of going last for the
- 10:20Speaker 3: first bid. So, Stevie, Rougy, which one of you would
- 10:23Speaker 3: like to go first?
- 10:24Speaker 1: You know what I'm going to do?
- 10:25Speaker 9: Yeah, I'll go first.
- 10:27Speaker 3: In that case, the bidding order is going to be Augie,
- 10:29Speaker 3: then Chrissy, then Stevie, then Casey, and we will cycle
- 10:33Speaker 3: around so everybody gets a chance to be first or
- 10:35Speaker 3: last in the bidding order. You all get one bid,
- 10:38Speaker 3: just like contestants ROW on another show that will not
- 10:40Speaker 3: be named.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Legally Distincticipants Isle.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Participants Participants Isle. Our first item up for bids is
- 10:54Speaker 3: this rare first edition book, The Celebrated Jumping Frog by
- 10:59Speaker 3: Mark Twain is a collection of short stories and his
- 11:02Speaker 3: first published book. This copy is in good condition unrestored,

- 11:10Speaker 3: pages are very good clean with minimal creasing, and this
- 11:14Speaker 3: listing can be yours if the cost is correct. Augie,
- 11:17Speaker 3: start us off. I'll give you five hundred For five hundred,
- 11:20Speaker 3: says Augie. Chrissy.
- 11:25Speaker 1: He got yours. He does it to me all the time.
- 11:27Speaker 6: No, I'm in my head. I'm trying to assess who
- 11:31Speaker 6: am I selling this to?
- 11:32Speaker 5: Ye? Is it just.
- 11:35Speaker 3: I think these these are all eBay?
- 11:38Speaker 9: Yeah, so it could be nothing or everything.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Four fifty eight undercuts on you smart that it might work.

- 12:37Speaker 1: Oh in the first game.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Well, actually, Christy kind of boxed herself in. She went
- 12:43Speaker 3: under rogy. Oh yeah, but so if the if it's
- 12:48Speaker 3: anywhere between five hundred and two thousand, Augie wins it.
- 12:51Speaker 3: If it's over two thousand and one Casey wins it,
- 12:55Speaker 3: and if it's between four fifty eight five hundreds.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Well I kind of hope it is, just because of

- 20:26Speaker 10: fifteen thousand thousand.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Here I was going to say, no cheating over there.
- 20:33Speaker 8: I was doing the math Forum, which I wasn't looking
- 20:36Speaker 8: at honestly, because all I saw a bunch of words
- 20:38Speaker 8: on a piece of paper.
- 20:40Speaker 1: The show notes I could call those aren't even numbers.
- 20:45Speaker 3: They completely failed to tempt at cheating. Uh, Chrissy, eure up?
- 20:51Speaker 3: What do you say? Lord lower?
- 21:00Speaker 2: Okay?
- 21:03Speaker 3: Eight thirteen, eight thousand, thirteen, and finally Stevie one thousand
- 21:11Speaker 3: and fifty three, one thousand and fifty three. No way,
- 21:18Speaker 3: all of them.
- 21:19Speaker 1: That would be everybody over the.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Stevie did one thousand and fifty three, then Chrissy with
- 21:28Speaker 3: eight thousand and thirteen, then Casey with thirteen thousand, and
- 21:33Speaker 3: then Augue with fifteen thousand.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:36Speaker 3: The actual final auction price of this thirteen book collection
- 21:41Speaker 3: of Warhammer novels is eight thousand dollars. What which means
- 21:50Speaker 3: Chrissy's just over and Stevie wins.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Oh you know, I feel bad.
- 22:00Speaker 3: I'm sorry, and she said eighty thirteen. I'm like, oh,
- 22:04Speaker 3: if Stevie goes eighty fourteen, I'm just gonna.
- 22:06Speaker 9: Say, you're all over awesome scared.
- 22:09Speaker 3: My only thirteen dollars, way one hundred.
- 22:13Speaker 5: Dollars five dollars reallyast head part is the fact that
- 22:16Speaker 5: the thirteen is only on there for me to be
- 22:18Speaker 5: an asshole.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Yes, yes, well sadly it's backfired today, but that's all right,
- 22:30Speaker 3: that's all right. So that is three listings to the boys,
- 22:34Speaker 3: which means they win the game and get one episode point.
- 22:38Speaker 3: We got a point. It's actually, when's the last time
- 22:41Speaker 3: we arned the point?
- 22:41Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:42Speaker 4: But we did numbers and now that all the rest
- 22:43Speaker 4: of the stuff's words and things, so we're kind of hard.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I'm not good at books. I'm not good at well, yeah,
- 22:53Speaker 3: I'm not gonna get either.
- 22:56Speaker 7: No, I'm not good at numbers either.
- 22:57Speaker 3: So do you guys want to play this last list
- 23:00Speaker 3: just for fun?
- 23:01Speaker 1: Sure? Why not?
- 23:02Speaker 3: Just for fun? All right? And this is a really
- 23:05Speaker 3: interesting one, so I wanted to make sure we got
- 23:07Speaker 3: a chance to play it, So Augie, you will start
- 23:10Speaker 3: first this time. Our final item up forbids is this
- 23:13Speaker 3: rare original book this first edition, first printing of Alcoholics
- 23:18Speaker 3: Anonymous from nineteen thirty nine is in a remarkably good condition,
- 23:25Speaker 3: featuring the signature of Frank D. Severing dated May fifth,
- 23:29Speaker 3: nineteen forty and a few notes. But the cover is
- 23:33Speaker 3: mark free and intact, and this historic find can be
- 23:37Speaker 3: yours if the cost is correct. Augie, take a shot shit.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Five thousand, five thousand, says Augie. Chrissy, eight and fifty
- 23:50Speaker 3: dollars eight.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Dollars, Chris, All right, now, I went to and I
- 23:58Speaker 1: got a book given to me.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Okay, but they are still they are still purchased, like
- 24:03Speaker 4: you sponsor somebody type of thing.
- 24:05Speaker 3: This is literally the first ever.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Yeah, but like, who's profit profiting off of alcoholics books?
- 24:12Speaker 1: That's fucked up. So if you aren't selling it, or
- 24:14Speaker 1: if you're selling it for anything more than the forty
- 24:16Speaker 1: five fucking dollars, you're a piece of shit.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Okay, that's your bid? Forty five dollars, yes.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Fuck them. Maybe I should chanse.
- 24:30Speaker 9: Case one for fun, just.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Forty six, forty six dollars.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Fucking props.
- 24:39Speaker 9: Fucking props.
- 24:41Speaker 4: I gotta try.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Oh my god, hell, that's brilliant, that's so good. But
- 24:48Speaker 3: the actual final auction price of this book. It's not
- 24:53Speaker 3: forty five. It's sixteen thousand dollars. Augie wins that one. Yeah,
- 25:01Speaker 3: thou sixteen gram.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Somebody paid that. It's not like these are what this
- 25:06Speaker 1: is what it's good? No, it's somebody here she paid it.
- 25:08Speaker 1: That's fucked up.
- 25:09Speaker 4: You know, if you're going bought it, fuck you too.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Give me angry drinking my coffee. Should be happy, not angry.
- 25:17Speaker 3: You heard what if it was the museum? You heard
- 25:20Speaker 3: your first Stevie hates people who uh sell shut Yeah,
- 25:26Speaker 3: basically that's what it comes down to.
- 25:28Speaker 9: The podcast ship that sells.

- 25:55Speaker 16: just enough to only charge forty don't drink.
- 26:01Speaker 3: That's all it says. All it says.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I didn't even write it on all them.
- 26:07Speaker 4: I just photocopied it five that asshole, and I didn't
- 26:10Speaker 4: even do it double sided because I'm cheap?

- 27:35Speaker 3: I have just a little scenario and give my players
- 27:40Speaker 3: and all they have to do is give me their
- 27:42Speaker 3: best pitch, and whichever one I like the best will
- 27:44Speaker 3: win and earn their team two episode points. And because
- 27:48Speaker 3: it's a book's episode, of course, is going to be
- 27:49Speaker 3: books themed. Tons of great books went without a sequel.
- 27:53Speaker 3: And why I'm a publishing executive with more money than
- 27:57Speaker 3: common sense, and I want to sequelize a novel that
- 28:01Speaker 3: deserves it. But I have a lack of knowledge about
- 28:03Speaker 3: good books to go with my common sense. So you
- 28:06Speaker 3: know I'm a typical publishing exec So I want you
- 28:09Speaker 3: guys to pitch me a sequel to a popular novel,
- 28:12Speaker 3: tell me what happens, tell me about any new characters
- 28:15Speaker 3: or settings, and just to get out ahead of it.
- 28:18Speaker 3: No sequels to books by that Aaron Randolph guy, he's
- 28:20Speaker 3: a total hack, not total best book sequel pitch wins
- 28:26Speaker 3: and earns their team two episode points. Chrissy, in casey,
- 28:30Speaker 3: you guys lost the last game, so you have the
- 28:32Speaker 3: choice do you want to go first or do you
- 28:34Speaker 3: want to make these guys go first? Okay, so the
- 28:38Speaker 3: dream Team is going to go first, and of the
- 28:41Speaker 3: two of you, Stevian AUGI, which one of you wants
- 28:43Speaker 3: to go first?
- 28:44Speaker 1: I'll be fast at least quick as well.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Oh boy.
- 28:48Speaker 6: As a clarifying question.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Yes, go ahead, please do. He needs he needs time
- 28:55Speaker 3: to finish writing his pitch.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I forgot I had and then I forgot it.
- 29:01Speaker 3: It's one sentence, so you might want to take your time.
- 29:05Speaker 1: There's a period.
- 29:06Speaker 6: This is a sentence like novel novel or you know,
- 29:12Speaker 6: picture book novel.
- 29:15Speaker 3: The World's your oyster.
- 29:17Speaker 7: He's coming up with where's Waldough set in Germany?
- 29:21Speaker 1: I mean, but okay, what's messed up is you guys
- 29:27Speaker 1: are really fucking close. So now I'm going from that.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I'm going first. Oh my god, this is fucked up
- 29:37Speaker 1: because I told all you earlier, so you can verify
- 29:39Speaker 1: after I tell you that this is true. It's not
- 29:40Speaker 1: because what you guys said. But here's my pitch.
- 29:45Speaker 3: Oh my god, No, you don't understand. That is not
- 29:51Speaker 3: far off. The mark is that it so did.
- 29:54Speaker 15: You guys know?
- 29:55Speaker 4: In twenty eighteen they found two more fucking writings from
- 29:57Speaker 4: Anne Frank that was safe and safe and hidden away.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's actually true. In twenty eighteen, it was.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Like two full pages front and back, one in German,
- 30:05Speaker 4: one in English because she wrote both and I had
- 30:08Speaker 4: to look the shit up and I was like, holy fuck,
- 30:09Speaker 4: it's true. That's the thing that guy down the street
- 30:12Speaker 4: said to me. But then uh, I thought, dude, I'm like,
- 30:15Speaker 4: holy fuck, they got to publish these, which they just
- 30:17Speaker 4: displayed them, like no, fuck that shit. Let's have a
- 30:21Speaker 4: sequel to and Frank's Diary, Baby, except this is a
- 30:25Speaker 4: sub fictional novel, and Frank comes back from the past
- 30:33Speaker 4: to seek revenge from her and all the shoes and
- 30:36Speaker 4: goes after the Nazis, and she like she doesn't like
- 30:40Speaker 4: fuck him up like hardcore or anything. She locks him
- 30:42Speaker 4: in fucking addicts and ship and let him fucking starve
- 30:44Speaker 4: to that because fucking Nazis.
- 30:45Speaker 14: You know.
- 30:46Speaker 9: That kind of doubles as a pitch for both.
- 30:48Speaker 4: I know I never read it due his name, but
- 30:50Speaker 4: like he jumps in, but then it's called who's ann
- 30:53Speaker 4: Frank's uh, and Frank's Diary too, Who's in the attic now, bitch?
- 30:57Speaker 1: And it's but I think it would be fucking and
- 31:05Speaker 1: that is no joke.
- 31:06Speaker 4: Her writings is one of the top fucking selling things
- 31:09Speaker 4: in the fucking world too. You can't say it's not,
- 31:11Speaker 4: because you know for a fucking fact, it is so
- 31:13Speaker 4: having a sequel to that bitch that everybody wants to hear.
- 31:17Speaker 4: Fuck yeah, audiobook that ship. Let's sucking audio book and
- 31:20Speaker 4: frank two, let's do that ship. Come on, Aaron, I'll
- 31:23Speaker 4: let you write it. I'll fucking voice that three character I'll.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Be in Let's do this ship.
- 31:28Speaker 3: No, absolutely, my papers, bitch, I'll show you click click.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Fucking double barrel.
- 31:38Speaker 17: Do you think gate Leapers are hiring Waite?
- 31:41Speaker 1: You can't quit. No, you can't quit.
- 31:46Speaker 3: I'm already on the team. I can leave this.
- 31:49Speaker 1: God damn, I'm a gate leaders.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Oh my god, Oh my god. Well I know which
- 31:57Speaker 3: one I'm not picking.
- 31:58Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Sorry you lost this, but I know I
- 32:01Speaker 1: had it. I had it.
- 32:02Speaker 3: I just had it.
- 32:02Speaker 9: God damn, we won, my default, we.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Did not win.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Who else is going to lose?
- 32:10Speaker 3: Like I'm telling you, he.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Didn't need to hear mine, He didn't have to hear
- 32:15Speaker 1: anybody else's.
- 32:16Speaker 9: It was that good.
- 32:17Speaker 1: But because we're playing a game, go ahead and you
- 32:19Speaker 1: can listen to everybody else.
- 32:21Speaker 17: Jesus, I wish I could say was say words, okay,
- 32:27Speaker 17: any words, so anything, but that I present to you
- 32:32Speaker 17: the idea pitch for the sequel.
- 32:39Speaker 8: Of Oak Island, where they will finally, finally find that
- 32:45Speaker 8: treasure they've been long looking for.
- 32:48Speaker 17: It'll be the Bobby Dazzler of all time.
- 32:54Speaker 1: He pulled out the Bobby Dazzler.
- 32:58Speaker 8: All I needed just one more bor hole in the
- 33:01Speaker 8: right place for them to find another indigenous species, indigenous
- 33:05Speaker 8: person's like former hole that they have to completely doesn't
- 33:09Speaker 8: stop operations and bring a historical society, and bring this
- 33:14Speaker 8: historical society and to properly escavate everything some of it though,
- 33:18Speaker 8: because some of it has to stay there as a
- 33:20Speaker 8: natural cultural site.
- 33:24Speaker 3: I'm gonna eat all these.
- 33:26Speaker 9: But they never take out of pride.
- 33:29Speaker 1: But they never take the ship out of the swamp.
- 33:31Speaker 1: They just leave it there.
- 33:33Speaker 17: There's clearly a fucking ship in the swamp, and all
- 33:37Speaker 17: the evidence shows that there.
- 33:38Speaker 9: Is a ship in the swamp.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Oh my god, you spike those cookies.
- 33:45Speaker 6: I wish I did.
- 33:47Speaker 4: Aaron, would you like a sucker if you would like
- 33:50Speaker 4: your edibles? Go to peace, love and but a self
- 33:52Speaker 4: transit road in Lockport.
- 33:53Speaker 3: New York.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Tell them b a f y t W sent you.
- 33:56Speaker 8: Instead of a sponsored one final thing, one final thing,
- 34:00Speaker 8: instead of the Curse of Oak Island, It'll just be
- 34:02Speaker 8: the curse of bad ratings.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Good one.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Okay, Wow, Wow, Okay, that's a hard act to follow.
- 34:17Speaker 3: I don't know how I can top that.
- 34:19Speaker 6: I was gonna say, I'm feeling awesome. I mean, to
- 34:24Speaker 6: be fair, we set the bar really low.
- 34:29Speaker 1: When you say, it's a lot of pointing at me.
- 34:32Speaker 7: I know, right, it's really strange that we set that
- 34:35Speaker 7: bar so low, so low.
- 34:41Speaker 6: Perspective.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Trust me, Casey or Chrissy, which one of you wants
- 34:47Speaker 3: to go first? I'll go first?
- 34:48Speaker 7: Okay, so Casey got Ironically, mine is also a sequel
- 34:53Speaker 7: to one of my favorite books, The Devil Worst Product,
- 34:58Speaker 7: and uh so I have a plot summary if.
- 35:01Speaker 3: You'd like to, yes, of course.
- 35:04Speaker 7: Fifteen years after leaving Runway, Andy Satz is now a
- 35:07Speaker 7: successful digital media entrepreneur promoting ethical fashion, but with her brand.
- 35:13Speaker 7: When her brand is threatened by a powerful luxury competitor,
- 35:17Speaker 7: she has known this face again, or she has known
- 35:20Speaker 7: this face before. Her company is at a crossroads. It's
- 35:24Speaker 7: being courted for acquisition by Elias Holdings, a fashion and
- 35:28Speaker 7: media competitor, and at its home none other than Amanda Priestley,
- 35:34Speaker 7: her previous boss. Miranda offers Andy a position to lead
- 35:39Speaker 7: a new vertical focused on sustainability, an expansion to her
- 35:46Speaker 7: ethical fashion. Meanwhile, Emily, Miranda's former assistant, is now an
- 35:52Speaker 7: image consultant and media strategist whose services are requested by
- 35:58Speaker 7: Miranda to clean up the pr mess Emily and Andy
- 36:02Speaker 7: is strange since the Runway days must decide whether they'll
- 36:06Speaker 7: work together.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Or against one another, so there's gonna be friction.
- 36:12Speaker 7: Friction, controversy is gonna win.
- 36:17Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say whether the ladies already have this
- 36:20Speaker 3: in the bag, but you're not saying it, so it
- 36:24Speaker 3: can't be true. I'm not not saying, uh, chrissy.
- 36:31Speaker 6: Okay, So I had to go super super dirty and
- 36:34Speaker 6: already on this one.
- 36:36Speaker 3: I'm on board.
- 36:39Speaker 14: So this shows about and like, legitimately, there's one person
- 36:43Speaker 14: out there who might be listening who is gonna be
- 36:45Speaker 14: very happy about this.
- 36:47Speaker 6: So Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books. Okay,
- 36:50Speaker 6: I know there's been lots of rewrites. We're not talking
- 36:53Speaker 6: about that, right.
- 36:56Speaker 7: This is equal not a rewrite.
- 36:57Speaker 3: So you're gonna right, Are you counting Pride and Prejudice
- 37:01Speaker 3: and zombies among.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Those the original?
- 37:05Speaker 7: That's different.
- 37:06Speaker 6: That's a that's a completely different discussion. No, it was
- 37:10Speaker 6: a book as well.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Is it cannon in the universe?
- 37:14Speaker 6: Absolutely not.
- 37:15Speaker 5: And as a as a Jane Austin purist, I wanted
- 37:18Speaker 5: to hate that movie, but there is something about Lizzie
- 37:21Speaker 5: Bennett with.
- 37:27Speaker 6: So okay, hold that.
- 37:28Speaker 14: Thought though, because we might we might need that. What
- 37:30Speaker 14: was I just say, Pride, prejudice, zombies, kanas? Okay, So
- 37:41Speaker 14: this is this is Pride and Prejudice. There are two
- 37:44Speaker 14: couples in that book, but it is specifically about Lizzie
- 37:47Speaker 14: and mister Darcy because they get together at the end
- 37:50Speaker 14: of the book. They're really happy, everything's great, but they
- 37:52Speaker 14: were both super big bitches to each other like to
- 37:55Speaker 14: get to that point.
- 37:58Speaker 6: So I feel like there's gonna be just like.
- 38:02Speaker 14: NonStop like arguing and maybe make up sex. I feel
- 38:06Speaker 14: like that could be a very very spicy follow.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Up for and a resolution to the conflict.
- 38:11Speaker 9: I like it, Yes, finally resolution.
- 38:16Speaker 6: I mean it doesn't quite have the flare of hand
- 38:19Speaker 6: back from.
- 38:20Speaker 3: The dead, right, what a resolution to that conflict?
- 38:26Speaker 1: It's the ultimate one.
- 38:27Speaker 6: But no, and I feel like there's a lot of
- 38:30Speaker 6: crossover between people.
- 38:31Speaker 5: Like pride and prejudice and people who now as adults
- 38:34Speaker 5: read like books MutS.
- 38:37Speaker 1: I know my audience.
- 38:38Speaker 3: So what what would you call it?
- 38:43Speaker 1: Would be?
- 38:43Speaker 3: Would it be pride and prejudice and scissoring or.
- 38:48Speaker 1: I'd watch it?
- 38:51Speaker 3: Would you read it?
- 38:53Speaker 7: That's the real question.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Is there an audiobook? Is there's an audiobook that I'm in?
- 38:56Speaker 6: I mean that's fair. Just pride and prejudice to not
- 39:00Speaker 6: say for work.
- 39:01Speaker 3: I like that, dark after Okay, not say for work.
- 39:12Speaker 4: I like that.
- 39:14Speaker 3: All right, Well, now I got to pick one joy
- 39:23Speaker 3: and AND's pissed. No, No, I'm gonna go with the
- 39:29Speaker 3: cursive rings. No, so it just comes down to YouTube
- 39:34Speaker 3: and I genuinely doesn't matter. You're getting the points either.
- 39:40Speaker 3: But the one I want to read more is pride
- 39:44Speaker 3: and prejudice to not say for work. So I'm giving

- 43:05Speaker 3: feature players taking turns tackling lists of ten knockoff book titles.
- 43:10Speaker 3: In other words, I've taken the name of a real
- 43:12Speaker 3: popular book and replaced every word with a synonym, accepting
- 43:17Speaker 3: articles like a and and the and conjunctions like of
- 43:21Speaker 3: with an and.
- 43:22Speaker 1: But for example, wait a minute, not just yet, thank god,
- 43:27Speaker 1: there might be fuck.
- 43:29Speaker 3: For example, if the Grapes of Wrath knockoff book would
- 43:32Speaker 3: be the Currents of Rage. So the players need to
- 43:39Speaker 3: decipher the original book behind each knockoff. Each player is
- 43:43Speaker 3: gonna get their own list of ten knockoffs to decipher.
- 43:47Speaker 3: You'll get two minutes to get as many as you can. Uh,
- 43:51Speaker 3: and the team that solves the most knockoffs between them
- 43:55Speaker 3: wins the game and earns three episode points. Now, ceeb
- 43:59Speaker 3: and ah, you guys lost the last game, so you
- 44:01Speaker 3: have the choice. We are going to stagger the player order,
- 44:04Speaker 3: just like we did for the bidding. But which team
- 44:06Speaker 3: would you like to go first?
- 44:07Speaker 1: I'm scared.
- 44:08Speaker 9: It's a new game.
- 44:09Speaker 3: I know I'm scared.
- 44:11Speaker 8: I don't know if there's an advantage to going first
- 44:13Speaker 8: or the second first.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Yes, we'll go first.
- 44:16Speaker 3: You want to go first? Okay?
- 44:19Speaker 7: Wait, I have a quick question. Yes, So does it
- 44:22Speaker 7: have to be close to what the original one is
- 44:25Speaker 7: or just goofy whatever?
- 44:28Speaker 3: Or is guaranteed to be Goroofy will be Goofy. Okay,
- 44:33Speaker 3: I'm going to give you the knockoff, the Goofy knockoff.
- 44:35Speaker 3: You have to tell me what real book?
