- 2:18It has been a beautiful weekend. I enjoyed the sun.
- 2:21I got a chance to check out so many different facilities for
- 2:25our nation's capital. I, I say our nation's capital
- 2:29because a lot of different war heroes were at these facilities.
- 2:33So I got to get, I got a chance to go to these facilities and
- 2:35check out where they're living and, and how they're really
- 2:39moving on in their lives after being working or being a part of
- 2:43the Army, the Marines, the Air Force.
- 2:47So all the different, different soldiers that I've, I've met
- 2:51over the last couple of days. So I want to give a shout out to
- 2:53all the different people that I met, all the warriors that have
- 2:57fought for us and our country for the last 30 to 35 years.
- 3:01So thank you for the opportunity to do that and speak to many,
- 3:04many different people over the last couple of days.
- 3:08Jabba, how are you? I'm good.
- 3:11You know what? We didn't get to your guys great
- 3:14weather. We got literally rain for three
- 3:17days and today was beautiful. So I'll take the the good with
- 3:20the bad. But yeah, so our, our holiday
- 3:23weekend was very anticlimactic. We didn't really do much other
- 3:27than enjoy the rain. My son got his first tattoo,
- 3:29which was really cool. That's cool.
- 3:32So it was fun. It was, it was kind of funny
- 3:34him, him going through it because I'm literally sitting
- 3:37right behind him and he's like low key, this hurts.
- 3:40And I'm like, dude, I'm sitting right behind you just talk to
- 3:42me. And he's like, and then 2 1/2
- 3:45hours later, he was like, oh, that wasn't so bad.
- 3:46I was like, yeah, sure, buddy. It always for the first time you
- 3:50ever get a tattoo and you can go to any place you're going to
- 3:54feel the pins and the needles going in your skin.
- 3:57But once you get used to it, it actually is a it's a cool
- 4:01sensation. It's something that you never
- 4:02felt before, especially if you never done it.
- 4:05But once you get comfortable in the seat and it depends on the
- 4:09tattoo artist, it depends on the needle that they use because
- 4:12they use some of them used very thin needles, others use thick
- 4:16needles. It depends if it's Gray and
- 4:18black or it's colored. It's, it's many different
- 4:21options that you have and it, and it also depends on the
- 4:24artist. But I after you get a chance to,
- 4:27to go through it, it's not as bad as it a lot of people make
- 4:30it out to be, but you know that job.
- 4:32But you have a ton of them. You got your whole back done,
- 4:34your arms done. So it, it's a different kind of
- 4:37sensation, but All in all, it's, it's a great experience,
- 4:41especially if you're getting something that means a lot to
- 4:44you. You don't put these stupid
- 4:46different like cartoon characters.
- 4:48I see people put on the Tasmanian devil.
- 4:51I mean, all these different tribals.
- 4:53I, I never get some of the people that go out there and,
- 4:57and do like ruin their skin. And it's on you for the rest of
- 5:00your life. So you don't want to put
- 5:02something that. Means do you have any rant?
- 5:04Like a random. Like a random.
- 5:06Tattoo. No.
- 5:07Every single thing that I have on my my body has meaning.
- 5:10I have one for my father who passed away, my grandfather who
- 5:13passed away. I've got another.
- 5:14My first tattoo is something to do with the Angel and the devil.
- 5:18Good always conquers evil. I there's all different kinds.
- 5:22I have one with my sports team. I have a biotic heart that's put
- 5:26on my, my, my heart position. So it's like a metal heart with
- 5:30all my different sports, my favorite sports teams that are
- 5:32part of it. So and then there's something
- 5:35that says on the back of my neck, it says Sempify.
- 5:37I want to tell you guys a funny story that happened to me today.
- 5:40I was in a facility. I was, I work for Northwell
- 5:43during the day and I, I, I was running to the bathroom.
- 5:46I really had to go to the bathroom.
- 5:47I'm not going to tell you what I had to go and do, but I had to
- 5:50go to the bathroom. So I go to this facility and I
- 5:54know it usually the toilet is always empty.
- 5:57Nobody goes to this bathroom. I'm very particular on where I
- 6:01go to the bathroom because I don't like to sit on a public
- 6:04toilet. All right, So I'm running into
- 6:06the bathroom. I run into the bathroom and I
- 6:09usually all I got to do is push the door open.
- 6:11Well, the guy didn't lock the door and I pushed the door open
- 6:16and this guy is sitting on the toilet, man, practically getting
- 6:19up. So in this particular bathroom,
- 6:22and I'm not going to mention what facility facility it is in
- 6:26Northwell, the toilet paper is a little bit away from the toilet.
- 6:30So you got to get up and reach for the toilet paper.
- 6:33I don't know who set it up like that, but you have to get up to
- 6:38grab the toilet paper. So this guy is getting up and I
- 6:41just kicked down the door and this guy is butt ass naked and I
- 6:45walk in and I'm like my mouth dropped.
- 6:47I'm, oh, I'm sorry, this has never happened before.
- 6:50He started giggling. I, I'm walking to the, the
- 6:53urinal and I'm like, you want me to wait now you know what?
- 6:55I'm a little embarrassed. I'm walking right out.
- 6:57The guy's laughing. And I, I mean, I was scarred for
- 7:01at least 10/10/12 minutes before I actually, it just came out of
- 7:05my mind. But it, it, it was funny because
- 7:08the guy laughed. I, my mouth dropped.
- 7:10It was embarrassing. I would have been embarrassed if
- 7:12somebody kicked down the door and saw me butt ass naked
- 7:15reaching for toilet paper. So I want to apologize to the
- 7:18UPS guy that was sitting on the toilet because he was shocked.
- 7:22I was shocked, but he had a couple of giggles.
- 7:25I'm sure he probably told his buddies that somebody tried to
- 7:27kick down his door. So I want to apologize to UPS
- 7:30guy, but it was a funny story and I was telling one of my
- 7:33buddies on the phone like I, I just walked, walked in on a
- 7:37naked man sitting on a toilet. So I, I want to apologize
- 7:41Anyways, yeah, that was the my part of my day.
- 7:44But nevertheless, it was a good weekend.
- 7:47A lot of sports to get into. We're going to get into some
- 7:49college sports. Obviously the college football
- 7:52season, the full season started. This was practically week one.
- 7:56Last week was really week one. It was one game, but this was
- 7:58week one of the college football season.
- 8:02So we're going to get into that and and we're going to get into
- 8:04obviously the NFL. This is so exciting for for all
- 8:07you NFL fans out there that love football.
- 8:10Well, Thursday Night Football, we have the Cowboys and the
- 8:13Eagles, the world champion Eagles as they receive one of
- 8:16the nicest rings I've ever seen. OK, one of the the most
- 8:20beautiful rings I've ever seen and I've seen the pictures of
- 8:23it. So it's going to be a great
- 8:25experience. I get to stand get the chance to
- 8:27see the Giants fans faces drop when Saquon Barkley receives his
- 8:31first yes Super Bowl ring. And I'm excited for Saquon
- 8:35because he deserves it. Well deserved.
- 8:37Great guy, great personality and and somebody that definitely
- 8:41deserved a ring after the season he had last year.
- 8:43Michael Parson traded to the Packers, ladies and gentlemen.
- 8:46We didn't get into that. Last week the Dallas Cowboys
- 8:49traded three time All Pro edge rusher Michael Parsons to the
- 8:54Big Green. Yes ladies and gentlemen, the
- 8:56Green Bay Packers for two first round picks and defensive tackle
- 9:00Kenny Clark. The Packers then signed Parsons
- 9:03to a four year, $188 million contract with $136 million
- 9:09guaranteed and averaging about 47.5 million per year.
- 9:14Parsons, at the annual average of 47 million a year, will be
- 9:20making $6 million more than Mr. per year himself.
- 9:25TJ Watt, who recently reset the market with his long term
- 9:30three-year deal with the one and only Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 9:34Parsons agent went on ESPN first take this morning and said
- 9:39Parsons never told the Cowboys he was going to miss any games
- 9:44and Michael wanted to be a Cowboy.
- 9:47ESPN Jeremy Fowler reported that Jerry Jones struck down any last
- 9:53minute deals for Parsons to stay with the Dallas Cowboys, and
- 9:57reports came out that things Michael Parsons, Michael Parsons
- 10:02said on his podcast was rubbing some teammates and staff the
- 10:06wrong way. CD Lamb and Trayvon Diggs both
- 10:11denied the story, with Lamb saying he can't do anything any
- 10:15wrong. In my eyes, Parsons is a three
- 10:18time All Pro, a four time fine Pro Bowler, and has 52.5 sacks
- 10:24in four NFL seasons. Kenny Clark, who turned 30 at
- 10:28the start of October, was ranked as a league average defensive
- 10:34tackle by PFF last season. The two first round picks, first
- 10:39rounders from the Green Bay Packers will likely be late
- 10:43first round picks at best. Especially after getting Micah
- 10:47Parsons. You know, we didn't get into
- 10:49this story, guys. We didn't get a chance because
- 10:51it happened really after our our last show happened last week.
- 10:58And Michael Parsons is one of the big names.
- 11:00He's one of the big superstars right now in the NFL.
- 11:03The Cowboys are one of the biggest, as everybody says,
- 11:06America's team. I beg to differ.
- 11:08Nevertheless, the Cowboys and Michael Parsons have been
- 11:12backlashing at each other for the last couple of weeks.
- 11:15Michael Parson has his own podcast, has gone out and taking
- 11:19shots at Jerry Jones, taking shots at the organization, not
- 11:23doing right by him, not sitting down and having a conversation
- 11:26with him on possibly getting him back and him making the kind of
- 11:30money TJ Watt or files Garrett got this offseason early this
- 11:34offseason. A lot of questions to obviously
- 11:37a guy like Michael Parsons who's come out over and over and over
- 11:40again throwing his teammates under the bus many, many times
- 11:45this past season gone out there and not doing the right thing as
- 11:48a Cowboy. You know that the Cowboys
- 11:50organization are very back and forth with a lot of different
- 11:54fans. The Philadelphia fans don't like
- 11:55them. The Giant fans don't like them.
- 11:57The Washington Commander fans don't like them being that
- 11:59they're in the NFC East. And there are a lot of other
- 12:01teams that don't like the Dallas Cowboys and the Cowboy fans
- 12:05because of the way Cowboy fans portray their team to be.
- 12:09This is a Cowboy team that hasn't won in almost 30 years, a
- 12:13little bit over 30 years and a team that came out with an F
- 12:17Netflix documentary and, and Jerry Jones, I think looking
- 12:21like the good guy for the NFL, a guy that has stuck out like a
- 12:25sore thumb for, for a team that has really developed ways to
- 12:30bring in money for the NFL. You look at the TV deals that a
- 12:33lot of these teams have and look at the organization as a whole.
- 12:36The Cowboys are very well respected when it comes to the
- 12:39money end of the NFL. Rodger Goodell has come out and
- 12:42and taken applause to a guy like Jerry Jones.
- 12:46Jerry Jones, who's done many different things that maybe
- 12:48pissed owners off, but has brought a significant amount of
- 12:52money back to the NFL and in sponsorships and advertisements.
- 12:56The Nike deal that he made years and years ago, bringing Nike and
- 13:00then fighting with the NFL and owners and and almost losing his
- 13:04team. Lot of stories behind what Jerry
- 13:06Jones has done for his team and his organization.
- 13:09And Jerry Jones is the kind of guy that keeps his players.
- 13:12He doesn't really let players go.
- 13:15You look at guys like Deion Sanders signed his long term
- 13:17deal with the Cowboys. The thought was Deon Sanders was
- 13:20going to be a cowboy for life. You look at Emmett Smith before
- 13:24he left the left the Cowboys and played two years with Arizona.
- 13:28Emmett Smith, his whole career was the Cowboys and before he
- 13:31retired, he wanted to retire as a Cowboy.
- 13:33So we signed a day contract with the Cowboys.
- 13:36If you look at guys like Michael Irvin or Troy Aikman, these guys
- 13:42retired as Cowboys. These guys were the face of the
- 13:45organization and you can see it in that documentary if you
- 13:48haven't checked it out on Netflix.
- 13:50Jerry Jones just kept a lot of his superstars on his organ in
- 13:54his organization. One of the reasons why is he he
- 13:56stands by his team, he stands out and stands by his players.
- 13:59But for some reason, Michael Parsons over the last couple of
- 14:02months, last couple of weeks has taken shots at the owner and
- 14:05taking shots at the executives of the roundtable of the
- 14:09Cowboys, taking shots at Jerry Jones.
- 14:11His son saying that he deserves just as much money as TJ Watt
- 14:15and Miles Garrett as he should. He's 25 years old, in the prime
- 14:18of his career. And I believe that Jerry Jones
- 14:21was trying to make a deal, but Jerry Jones, he went to Michael
- 14:25Parsons. He didn't speak to the agent.
- 14:27And the agent was not very, very happy with Jerry Jones because
- 14:31Michael Parsons has stood very strong about his agent.
- 14:35He's come out after he was traded to the Green Bay Packers
- 14:38that he would stand by his agent.
- 14:39His agent is everything to him and he didn't go to his agent.
- 14:43He didn't speak to his agent. And and that pissed off
- 14:46obviously, David, his agent and Michael Parsons.
- 14:50And when this trade happened, a lot of people and I know we're
- 14:53going to get Fish on in a little while and Fish is going to have
- 14:55his own thoughts thinking that maybe the Green Bay Packers won
- 14:58this trade. I know that Josh Silverberg,
- 15:01who's been on the show many, many times and has called this
- 15:04show and he has his own show on our network, has said the Green
- 15:08Bay Packers won this trade. Now I go back to what I believe
- 15:12the fact that Michael Parsons is and, and the personality is when
- 15:15you take on a responsibility to have a guy like this with your
- 15:18organization and you you run, you run by the different
- 15:22personalities the Cowboys have had over the years.
- 15:24Like I mentioned, Dion Sanders and Michael Irvin and even
- 15:29Emmett Smith, we all know the story about Emmett Smith.
- 15:31Remember the contract dispute that he had with Jerry Jones
- 15:34before he signed that contract, the year that they were owing to
- 15:38and they were falling apart And Emmett Smith signed the
- 15:41contract, I think in his third or fourth game because Jerry
- 15:44Jones knew that if he didn't sign Emmett Smith, the season
- 15:47was going to fall flat on their face.
- 15:49But the organization knew that Emmett Smith was a big part of
- 15:52the organization and he wanted to spin the wheel and make the
- 15:55deal. It doesn't always work like
- 15:57that. And knowing that Michael Parsons
- 15:59is everything to this defense. This defense has no back end to
- 16:02it. They're secondary with Trayvon
- 16:04Diggs. You're going to bet on Trayvon
- 16:05Diggs staying healthy all season long.
- 16:08Do they have enough, enough depth on the front 7 to get at
- 16:12the quarterback on any other team?
- 16:14This team is going to be predominantly an offensive team
- 16:17adding, adding a guy well with CD Lamb and and Pickens.
- 16:21The fact that this organization and and what this organization
- 16:25stands for Dak Prescott has even has more pressure on him this
- 16:29season offensively. And I I, I also look at the fact
- 16:33that Michael Parsons was pushing and pushing fast on where he
- 16:37wanted to go. He mentioned that he would go to
- 16:39Green Bay. He mentioned he wanted to go to
- 16:40the LA Rams. He mentioned a lot of different
- 16:43things. The problem right now is when
- 16:45you look at Michael Parsons, is Michael Parsons worth right now
- 16:49$46 million? Is he worth the $46,000,000 that
- 16:53the Green Bay backers gave him if they don't win a championship
- 16:56in the next two to three years and he is 25 and he is in the
- 17:00prime of his career, Is it, are we going to go back on this
- 17:03trade? And depending on who the Cowboys
- 17:05draft with those picks, do they draft a quarterback?
- 17:07Do they move up and get the player of of their choosing or
- 17:10defensive player or two or three defensive players from from the
- 17:14player of Michael Parson's stature?
- 17:16How? How hurt do you think he really
- 17:17is and why didn't? He say that I don't think he's
- 17:19that hurt and I, I again, something of a back injury of
- 17:22this magnitude, which we've heard he could take pills.
- 17:25He can, he can get a shot. I, I mean, he's going to play
- 17:29this year. He's going to give you a 12 and
- 17:31a half, 13 sacks on a bad season, especially with the
- 17:34Green Bay Packers front 7. As good as it is, this is not a
- 17:37bad defense. The Green Bay Packers was a top
- 17:4010 defense last year. You had Michael Parsons
- 17:42automatically or a top three top 4 defense.
- 17:45Michael Parsons adds you that pass rusher.
- 17:48You can move all over that, that line.
- 17:50We saw what Dan Quinn did with the the Cowboys over the years
- 17:53when he was the defensive coordinator.
- 17:55Michael Parsons could be moved at as a linebacker, defensive
- 17:58end. You can move him inside you.
- 18:00You're going to have to double team Michael Parsons.
- 18:03And with the players in the big front seven that they have, he's
- 18:06going to cause havoc over there with the Green Bay Packers in
- 18:08that. And the Packers are in a very
- 18:10good division. They have the Lions, they have
- 18:12the Chicago Bears and they have the Minnesota Vikings.
- 18:14So they needed to make a big move and a big splash.
- 18:17This is a big move and a big splash, but you're putting all
- 18:20your eggs in this basket now if it's wrong and Michael Parsons
- 18:23is is a cancer. Now, Michael Parsons is a good
- 18:26player, but if you ask any Cowboy fan over the last two
- 18:30seasons, including Nathan, who's a die hard Cowboy fan, do you
- 18:34want to deal with Michael Parsons crap?
- 18:37Do you want to deal with that in the locker room?
- 18:39Do you want to deal with the the fact that this guy causes more
- 18:42trouble than it's worth and Jerry Jones is a guy that stands
- 18:46behind these guys. Think about the past.
- 18:48He brought great Greg Hardy in. Greg Hardy who beat the hell out
- 18:52of his girlfriend, almost killed her, signed him to a long term
- 18:56deal. I think it was a 3-4 year deal.
- 18:58So it's not like a guy like like Jerry Jones.
- 19:01He's not going to go out there and, and and give a guy another
- 19:05chance. He's done it many, many times.
- 19:07Jerry Jones has brought players to his team that have caused
- 19:11trouble on and off the field and took chances with them.
- 19:15If some of them panned out, some of them not.
- 19:17But again, he's a guy that likes to take chances on players when
- 19:22Michael Parsons is a guy that was his very own, his draft
- 19:26pick, a guy that he went after in the draft and made him his
- 19:29own. When when the Giants passed up
- 19:31on him. And, and I think if I'm not
- 19:33mistaken, 8 or 9 other teams passed up on Michael Parsons.
- 19:36The Cowboys did not. The Cowboys went after him,
- 19:39brought him in and he's become one of the top five pass
- 19:42rushers, one of the elite pass rushers in the league.
- 19:45But it still bothers me if you're a Cowboy fan right now,
- 19:48it would bother me right now because you're going into a
- 19:52season where your defense is not going to be very good and you're
- 19:55going to be predominantly an offensive team.
- 19:57You bring in Brian Schottenheimer, who Brian
- 19:59Schottenheimer is not a big name.
- 20:02He's not a a big head coach that you're going to depend on.
- 20:04He's also an offensive guy, not a defensive guy.
- 20:08So you're going to scramble all season long to figure out how
- 20:11this defense is going to work, how you're going to keep this
- 20:13team in it. You're going to be chasing all
- 20:15season long. You did.
- 20:17You did add. Pickens, you do have CD Lamb,
- 20:21you do have a better running game this year with Williams
- 20:23there and and Blue you drafted. You're going to see, we're going
- 20:27to have to see how this offensive line works.
- 20:29This is a young offensive line. There's no Smith on this line or
- 20:33any of the top stars like Zach Martin, a guy that's going to be
- 20:36a Hall of Famer. There's nobody on this line of
- 20:39that magnitude. You're going to depend a lot on
- 20:42a guy like Dak Prescott who can't stay healthy, hasn't been
- 20:44healthy really fully for the last three seasons and put him
- 20:48in a situation where he's going to put have to put up at least
- 20:5230 points a game for this team to compete with teams like the
- 20:56Philadelphia Eagles, the Washington Commanders and even
- 20:59the New York Giants. That would scare me if I'm a
- 21:01Cowboy fan. And again, going back to Michael
- 21:04Parsons, I'm not going to take away from Michael Parsons
- 21:06talents. Michael Parsons has proven
- 21:08himself to be an elite pass rusher, an elite player.
- 21:11But when you go out there and you challenge Jerry Jones and
- 21:14you're going to attack him on social media, you're going to
- 21:17attack him on your own radio show.
- 21:18What, what do you think Jerry Jones is going to do?
- 21:20He's going to retaliate. That's what he's going to do.
- 21:23And that's what he did. He retaliated and traded Michael
- 21:26Parsons away. Now, going back to this whole
- 21:29story and Jabba, I'm I'm I'd like to hear your take and I'm
- 21:32sure we're going to hear speedies.
- 21:34You sit here today and you look at the Green Bay Packers, you
- 21:38add Michael Parsons to that team right now.
- 21:41Are they the best team in the NFC with Michael Parsons?
- 21:46Are the Eagles still the elite team that we're going to be
- 21:48talking about all season? Because the Eagles defense might
- 21:51even be better than it was last year with the additions that
- 21:53they lost, They added and they lost sweat.
- 21:56They did lose 2 defensive plays, but they also added defensive
- 21:59players and they drafted very, very well as they always do
- 22:02going back to the Eagles. Are the Eagles now going to be
- 22:07challenged by the Green Bay Packers?
- 22:09And even even with the Green Bay Packers, Andy Michael Parsons,
- 22:13are they the best in their conference or I mean, are they
- 22:16the best in their division, not just the conference?
- 22:19That's the question. I could go on and on and on
- 22:22about this, but the Cowboys are going to have a lot to prove
- 22:26this year. And and again, Brian Schonheimer
- 22:28could be 1 and done this year. If Brian Schonheimer puts up a
- 22:32lousy five wins or a lousy six wins, does Jerry Jones keep him?
- 22:38You just got, you just got rid of a Hall of Fame head coach.
- 22:41He could be a borderline Hall of Famer.
- 22:43You decided to part ways with him.
- 22:44He didn't get another job in the offseason.
- 22:47So you just got rid of a a guy that averaged almost ten wins a
- 22:51season for a guy that has not had an experience head coaching
- 22:55job in the NFL yet. His father's very well known,
- 22:59but never won a Super Bowl, never took the Chargers anywhere
- 23:03in the playoffs with all the great teams with Phillip Rivers
- 23:05and Drew Bledsoe, all the different quarterbacks that he
- 23:09has had and he's coached over there and Marty Schottenheimer.
- 23:11Are you going to bet that Brian Schottenheimer is going to take
- 23:14this team all the way to the Super Bowl with a defense that
- 23:17has no pass rush, with a defense that is questionable on the
- 23:21secondary and an offense that, yeah, they added some guys like
- 23:25George Pickens and and and obviously some running backs.
- 23:29But is this offense in this offensive line going to hold up
- 23:32all season to put up enough points to compete with the
- 23:36beasts of the NFC East? Now, and that's the thing you
- 23:39could look at with the Cowboys defense like they're all rookies
- 23:41all at once. And that's going to be a big
- 23:43problem when yes, and maybe the incentive of paying him the
- 23:46extra $30 million total was not there for Jerry Jones.
- 23:50But at the same time or who you're going to trust is to be
- 23:52your best player on your defense.
- 23:54I get I like some of the draft picks that they had.
- 23:56They are not instant impact players the way Mike Parsons
- 23:58what as and like you said, Trayvon Diggs has been washed
- 24:01for the last two years, so he's not even that as a corner.
- 24:04So you're really trusting the Cowboys, which I agree with you.
- 24:06I like their offense as well. I think they could be a top
- 24:08twelve offense in football. This year, I think they're going
- 24:10to be higher than that, maybe as long as George Pickens stays
- 24:12healthy. I called him Pickett because I'm
- 24:14thinking of Kenny Pickett. But George Pickett, I'm sorry.
- 24:17I drafted him in both my leagues.
- 24:19Yeah, he's a, he's a very big, big boom or bust type player a
- 24:22lot throughout his career. Obviously his his mouth has
- 24:25definitely caused issues in Pittsburgh, but some, a lot of
- 24:27other guys caused malice issues in Pittsburgh.
- 24:29Now going to the Packers and what you were describing with
- 24:31his podcast, I think when you look at you look at the Packers,
- 24:35the way they were built, they have their own fan run team.
- 24:38They have their own fan run actually network as well that a
- 24:41lot of these players have bought into.
- 24:43And that's I think the big difference between the Packers
- 24:45and the Cowboys. The Packers do it locally.
- 24:46The Cowboys, Jerry Jones wants to make all that national
- 24:49attention. And I think Micah Parsons kind
- 24:50of bought into that, bought into that player stardom.
- 24:53And I trust the Packers to be able to make that kind of thing
- 24:55work. I don't think they would have
- 24:56made this trade if they didn't think they could do that.
- 24:58There's a reason they got rid of Aaron Rodgers when they did too,
- 25:00because Aaron Rodgers was causing too much drama.
- 25:02They make the playoffs the first year Jordan Love is there.
- 25:05So from that standpoint, I actually trust Green Bay a lot.
- 25:08Aaron Rodgers was at the tail end of his career.
- 25:10This guy is in the prime of his career.
- 25:12He's 25 years old. How are you going to control
- 25:14this guy if the team starts to lose early in the season?
- 25:17Remember, this isn't the NFC East.
- 25:20This isn't. This is the NFC North.
- 25:22This is the best division in football.
- 25:25You can argue that it is the AFC North and the NFC North are the
- 25:30two best divisions in football. The Baltimore division and
- 25:33obviously the Minnesota Vikings and and the Green Bay Packers
- 25:37division. This is a division that is
- 25:40clustered with great talent and and again, a young quarterback.
- 25:43But Dak Prescott is this isn't Dak Prescott and the NFC East.
- 25:48This is the Jordan, Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers.
- 25:53Now Jordan Love has a lot of pressure on him.
- 25:55He's got a lot of pressure on him this year because he's
- 25:57healthy. But Reed's not healthy.
- 25:59You're you're, you're betting on Matthew Golden, another young
- 26:03wide receiver this is and and the Green Bay Packers, are they
- 26:06the best team in their in their division?
- 26:09Then again, the best team are competing against the
- 26:11Philadelphia Eagles, who arguably is the best team in all
- 26:14of football. That's the argument here.
- 26:16And the other, the other comparison I think you can make
- 26:18at this point for is the Jalen Ramsey trade to the Rams.
- 26:21They remember they traded 2 first round picks as well.
- 26:23Then they were in a tough division at the time.
- 26:25You had the Seahawks that were very good.
- 26:27San Francisco was the best team in the NFC that year, so they
- 26:29made that kind of big swing. Sean McVeigh was a great coach
- 26:32that needed to get over the hump to win a Super Bowl.
- 26:34They need a little more help on defense.
- 26:35Jalen Ramsey, same kind of younger personality like Micah
- 26:38Parsons is. I think the trades are very
- 26:40similar and I think the Packers and Matt Lafleur kind of trust
- 26:43themselves to be able to do that kind of thing.
- 26:45I want to finish up before you go Jabba from the football
- 26:47standpoint. So I've said the Packers need an
- 26:49edge rusher all offseason. So I love this kind of move for
- 26:51that. Rashan Gary is the guy that's
- 26:53good but is injury prone and Lucas Van Ness, who was their
- 26:55first round pick, has not developed.
- 26:57So they needed that kind of thing.
- 26:59I was telling Jamie Lee in the comments, Trey Hendrickson was
- 27:01the move for them all offseason for four months, but they swung
- 27:04for Parsons. I think it's a great trade for
- 27:05Green Bay. I I agree with Josh.
- 27:07I think the Packers definitely got the better value in this
- 27:09deal. I'm not saying Dallas did
- 27:10terrible, but this Green Bay definitely won the straight.
- 27:12Yeah, I mean with the draft picks and Kenny, but it's I I
- 27:15think what the, the thing that I have loved about this and then
- 27:19the moving and shaking is, is now we're questioning which
- 27:22division is the best and, and which conference is the best and
- 27:24the guys that they've brought in and the things they can do.
- 27:27Yeah, there's some, there's some young defenses and there's some
- 27:30obviously some moves and, and obviously health being being a
- 27:33huge component of, you know, the success of the team.
- 27:37But it just I love the fact that.
- 27:39And obviously you know, the business side we've seen has,
- 27:42has, has come out a lot and guys wanting to get paid where we've
- 27:46seen like we talked about before where age is such the biggest
- 27:48dynamic in NFL and, and what they can do.
- 27:51But I think of the guys that they've brought in and what you
- 27:54have it, it does create the question where now do we have
- 27:58the 1A's and the 1B's? But I don't think there's
- 28:00there's that fall off in between here and here now.
- 28:03I think with the moves that teams have made, especially like
- 28:06this and as you said, speedy with that, they needed an edge
- 28:09rusher. And when you go get this and
- 28:11there, there are teams that literally just honed in on what
- 28:14they needed. And I think this is obviously
- 28:16we've seen that a little bit more than we've seen in the past
- 28:18of where they've they filled those holes with, you know, not
- 28:22just guys that are going to come in and play, but their impact
- 28:25players too. And I I think that's one of the
- 28:27things that I'm super excited about.
- 28:29These guys change. Obviously the the money is one
- 28:31thing, but being put in situations in conferences where
- 28:35it changes things up a little bit and I think it's going to
- 28:38make for a good, interesting year.
- 28:39And hopefully everybody stays Ellie, that we want to stay
- 28:42healthy and guys go out and do good things because I think with
- 28:46the way things are shaping up, it's going to be a really,
- 28:48really fun season. Don't you think it's going to be
- 28:50even better now because Micah Parsons isn't on Dallas?
- 28:54As a Giants fan, I'm so jacked up about this.
- 28:57I don't understand this trade. Errol, I know you're saying that
- 29:00he was such a problem. This guy wanted to be a Cowboy
- 29:02his whole life. He grew up a Cowboys fan.
- 29:05He went to Penn State, same colors.
- 29:06He talked about it. He didn't want to leave what
- 29:09Jerry Jones did. And this is I'm reading this
- 29:11from ESPN. He has a practice that he he's
- 29:14been known to do called hot boxing.
- 29:16Apparently what he does is he corners his players like he did
- 29:20to Dak Prescott and he tries to negotiate with them without his
- 29:23agent with without their agents, with them trying to pull fast
- 29:26ones on him. That is some shady crap.
- 29:28But I think what the big thing is, is he's lost his fastball.
- 29:32He didn't shop this around to the league because everyone
- 29:34around the league said they would have given more than this
- 29:37really paltry return for for what's looking like the best
- 29:41pass rusher going forwards in the next couple of years.
- 29:44Think about it. TJ Watts over 30.
- 29:46Miles Garrett just turned 30. This guy's 25.
- 29:49They're not going to be at the top of their powers for much
- 29:51longer. He will.
- 29:52And he has the fifth most sacks to start a career of anyone in
- 29:56the history of the NFL. What are you doing all time in
- 30:00the first four years in four, whatever it is fifth place ever.
- 30:05Yeah, get rid of that guy. Good idea, Jerry.
- 30:07Go go ahead and get a couple of late first round picks.
- 30:11By the way, I remember when the Giants spent a 30th overall pick
- 30:13on Cadarius. Tony, I hope they get that slot
- 30:16and make something out of that. What are you doing?
- 30:19You don't. You have a potential future Hall
- 30:22of Famer that every team has to game plan around.
- 30:25You face the Dallas Cowboys, you have like what?
- 30:28How are we going to handle Michael Parsons?
- 30:29He's going to be coming from everywhere.
- 30:31This is a toy for the defensive coordinator that you have to
- 30:34worry about when you face this team.
- 30:36What are you worried about now, Trayvon Diggs?
- 30:38You're not worried about Kenny Clark.
- 30:40He was a league average defensive tackle last year and
- 30:43he's 30 and his cat pit the following year is 21 million.
- 30:48So they're going to cut him? My attack here is is not the
- 30:51fact that the Cowboys didn't get as much as they should have got
- 30:54for Michael Parsons. I think at most.
- 30:57So those teams are going to give you 2 first round draft picks,
- 30:59maybe add 1/3. I'm hearing, I'm hearing it
- 31:02should have been at least two and an early like a second or
- 31:06third round. That's what I say and.
- 31:08And then a guy like Kenny Clark maybe just to start talking to.
- 31:12Them the fact is, is the Cowboys just wanted to get him out.
- 31:16They didn't want to deal with him.
- 31:17He's odd. He's out there on his podcast.
- 31:20He's taking shots at the organization.
- 31:21And I understand why Michael Parsons was upset.
- 31:24He wanted to be there as a cowboy for life.
- 31:27But again, you also have to understand what Jerry Jones is
- 31:31an owner. Jerry Jones has to stand pat.
- 31:33This is a guy that is always stood pat about his players and
- 31:37has always stood behind his players.
- 31:39What did he stand behind? Michael Parsons?
- 31:41No, or he didn't. Maybe there was more to the
- 31:43story than we even know. And again, we might never know
- 31:47or it might never be out until maybe Jerry Jones is gone.
- 31:51The fact is, did Jerry, did Jerry Jones make the right move?
- 31:54And most people would tell you he didn't make the right move.
- 31:57Most people would say that the Cowboys got fleeced.
- 32:00And maybe you sit here today and argue as a Cowboy fan if if
- 32:05Jerry Jones is the right guy to run this team, which most Cowboy
- 32:08fans don't want him there. The fact here is Jerry Jones is
- 32:11still running the organization, Jerry Jones is still in charge,
- 32:15and Jerry Jones made the decision to trade him.
- 32:18Now if those two first round draft picks in the future, and
- 32:22it could be late first round picks, and it probably is
- 32:25because of how good the Green Bay Packers are going to be in
- 32:27the next two seasons. If they turn into something or
- 32:30those two picks turn into a big part of the Cowboys success in
- 32:34the next 5 to 6 years and Michael Parsons never wins the
- 32:38Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers, then we're going to go
- 32:41back to this straight and say maybe Jerry Jones was right.
- 32:44Maybe Jerry Jones made made the right decision of getting rid of
- 32:47this this cancer in the locker room.
- 32:49Guys, I understand you're going to say no way.
- 32:51And I know that's what Josh is going to say.
- 32:53No way. I I'm going to stand.
- 32:55I'm going to stand pat. I don't know who Michael Parsons
- 32:57is off the field. What I do know is when I watch
- 33:01Michael Parsons podcast, Michael Parsons doesn't care what he
- 33:05says or who he throws onto the bus.
- 33:08Now, again, Michael Parsons is a personality and he's another guy
- 33:12that is going to go out there and speak his speak his
- 33:15feelings, no matter what show or what podcast he's on.
- 33:19The fact is, Jerry Jones made the decision to move him.
- 33:24The question is, was it the right one?
- 33:25We know it's not the right one this year because the Cowboys
- 33:28are going to be very, very bad defensively.
- 33:31They have no pass rush whatsoever.
- 33:33They added a guy like Kenny Clark.
- 33:35He's going to, he's going to definitely stuff the the running
- 33:38games away from teams. He's not a pass rusher.
- 33:41They have no pass rush on the outside.
- 33:43Now, maybe the Cowboys have something up their sleeve.
- 33:45Maybe they make a move at the trade deadline if they're in a
- 33:49playoff, if they're in playoff contention to land a pass rusher
- 33:52if somebody becomes available. But again, this that guy's not
- 33:56going to be Michael Parsons. The question is also, does the
- 34:00Cowboys sit pat and believe that a guy like Nick Bosa or maybe
- 34:06one of the maybe one of these other pass rushers are going to
- 34:10become available next year where they're not going to have to pay
- 34:12him as much like a Trey Hendrickson?
- 34:14Yes, he's not Michael Parsons, but guess what?
- 34:17Is Trey Hendrickson been better than Michael Parsons in the last
- 34:20two seasons? I would say yes.
- 34:22So I I'm good, I'm going to say he has been 17 and about the
- 34:27same. No way.
- 34:28Because, like the year before, Parsons was out of control.
- 34:31By the way, what is Michael Parsons done in the playoffs 0?
- 34:34Well, that's because Jerry can't get his team to the playoffs
- 34:38because Jerry is a terrible owner.
- 34:39He's lost his fastest. Really.
- 34:40They've been to. Two decades ago, he lost his
- 34:43fastest. They went to the playoffs every
- 34:45single year. Yeah, and the Giants beat them
- 34:47with Romo and then they haven't been anything special when
- 34:50they've got into the playoffs. That's not Jerry.
- 34:52Jones doesn't know how to build a franchise that's not Jerry.
- 34:54Jones's fault, Jimmy. Johnson knew how to build a
- 34:56roster. Jimmy Johnson built him a great
- 34:59roster in the 90s. So I don't want to hear that
- 35:01Jerry was behind it on that puff piece documentary Where Jerry
- 35:04acted like he was in charge of that trade.
- 35:07So we're going to sit here and play Jerry Jones.
- 35:09We're going to sit here and play Jerry Jones for the failure.
- 35:11He was never good. I'm just saying that was Jimmy
- 35:14Johnson. Jerry Jones.
- 35:15Jerry Jones brought pill Parcells in.
- 35:17Did they win? OK, No, Bill.
- 35:19Tony Romo. Was it Jerry Jones's fault that
- 35:21Tony Romo couldn't hold the kick?
- 35:23That wasn't Jerry Jones's fault. That was a year they could have
- 35:25went to the Super Bowl. Is it his fault that Dez Bryant
- 35:28dropped the ball at the when it was should have been a
- 35:32touchdown? No, it wasn't Jerry Jones's
- 35:34fault. So you're going to blame Jerry
- 35:35Jones for all the mishaps that's happened over the years?
- 35:38I'm going to blame him for the contract disputes that have
- 35:40caused problems with his team in his locker room.
- 35:42And this one is stupid. What are you doing?
- 35:44You just traded a like this is the equivalent of trading like
- 35:48100 million like like a $50 million bag of money for 50
- 35:52lottery tickets that can win you 50 dollars, $50 million.
- 35:55You already had the prize and you just traded what have for a
- 36:00late 2, late first round picks and a washed up tack.
- 36:04What has the prize done for you? What has he done?
- 36:07Get more for your prize. Really be smart in GM.
- 36:11Well, you suck it as AGM tell. That to the Giants.
- 36:13Tell that to the Giants in the. Organization would have got
- 36:15more. Giants aren't trading Michael
- 36:17Parsons. Really.
- 36:18No one in their right mind trades Michael.
- 36:20Parsons, Really. Let's go back to the Giants.
- 36:21They could have had Michael Parsons.
- 36:23They decided to pass. On that was Dave Gettleman, your
- 36:25boy. That doesn't.
- 36:26That doesn't matter. They passed on them.
- 36:27They were. Listen, this is Gettleman, the
- 36:29worst thing ever. On him the year so we're going
- 36:31to blame what how about this Sean?
- 36:33A guy like John Mayer could have stepped right in and said no, I
- 36:35want Mike John. Mayer as a.
- 36:36Weekly, OK, but not as not as bad as Jerry Jones being a whole
- 36:41one second. When was the last time you could
- 36:43go back and talk about the Giants and what they've done in
- 36:46over the last couple of years? Coughlin walked out of that
- 36:48meeting with Mara. I blew him off.
- 36:50I agree. I point.
- 36:51To the same moment, so you have another organization in the same
- 36:54division that has made. It's not the same thing.
- 36:56It's not the same. What?
- 36:57Do you mean it's not the same thing?
- 36:58It's because Jerry Jones is a brazen blowhard and John Mayer
- 37:03is an appropriate man. Oh, why?
- 37:05Because you're a giant fan. You're going to.
- 37:07Call John Mayer made a mistake with Josh Brown from university.
- 37:11Get out of here. Get out of.
- 37:12Here, Nebraska. Nebraska, Yeah.
- 37:14But let's face it, that's why. John Mayra had no control of his
- 37:18players before a playoff game. When they're hanging out with
- 37:21Justin Bieber on a boat. What are you?
- 37:23Are you serious? You really want Justin Bieber
- 37:25was on that. Boat.
- 37:26Yeah, Justin Bieber was driving the boat and he was with all the
- 37:29giant players. Yes he was.
- 37:31That was Justin Biebers boat. Yes, it was.
- 37:34It was the. Way he was driving his own boat,
- 37:36that was. All right, now you're trying to
- 37:38be funny. The fact is, Jerry Jones is just
- 37:41like every other owner in the NFL.
- 37:43Yeah, it was Justin Bieber, but and that's Odell Beckham's best
- 37:47bud, who, by the way, the same Odell Beckham that lost, what,
- 37:51three $4 million ring in a lake and then he had everybody
- 37:54looking for it. Give me a break.
- 37:56I honest, honest to God, I'm not saying Jerry Jones is the
- 37:59smartest man. I'm not saying Jerry Jones is
- 38:01the right guy to run this organization moving forward.
- 38:03The fact you can't blame Jerry Jones for all these different
- 38:07mishaps for this organization and, and this organization has
- 38:10made in the playoffs over the years.
- 38:12And Michael Parsons, go look at what Michael Parsons has done in
- 38:15the playoffs over the last couple of years.
- 38:17They haven't been good. And Michael Parsons has a lot to
- 38:20blame because he doesn't take any responsibility for those
- 38:23losses. And everybody wants to blame Dak
- 38:26Prescott because he's the quarterback.
- 38:27Well, why don't Michael Parson take responsibility being that
- 38:30he's, I don't know, 52 1/2 fifty and a 52 1/2 NF sacks for four
- 38:36NFL seasons and an All pro 3 time All Pro player?
- 38:40Come on, you got to take responsibility for something.
- 38:42And I'm going to tell you this right now.
- 38:44I'll tell you this about Jerry Jones.
- 38:46Say whatever you want about Jerry Jones, He's a guy that
- 38:48takes responsibility for every mishap this organization has
- 38:51made over the years. He's gone out there and said it
- 38:54that, you know, if you want to blame somebody, you blame me.
- 38:56By the way, has any other player besides Michael Parsons come out
- 39:01and said anything good about Jerry Jones at 11 last two years
- 39:05Michael Parsons come out and said good things about him and
- 39:08now all of a sudden he's taking shots at him after he decided to
- 39:12move him because he can negotiate a deal.
- 39:14Michael Parsons on his own radio show said Jerry Jones is the
- 39:17best owner in football. Michael Parsons last year said
- 39:21that. And because.
- 39:23And then he hot boxed them. The hotbox.
- 39:25The Merrill. The bad, the bad hotbox, the
- 39:28bad. Not the one.
- 39:29Not the one that maybe some of us in high school partook in
- 39:32college partook in. Or that makes you hungry?
- 39:35It makes you, I mean the 4th. Remember Taco Bell?
- 39:37The 4th meal advertise. By the way, by the way, Dak
- 39:40Prescott. Dak Prescott came out many, many
- 39:42times over the last couple of weeks.
- 39:45He did it to Dak too, though. But no, he said this.
- 39:48He said that Michael Parsons should get his contract, blah,
- 39:50blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 39:51Well, if Dak was such a leader, why didn't he go and sit down
- 39:55with Michael Parsons and Jerry Jones in the agent and trying to
- 39:58try to fix, make a way of negotiating a deal with both
- 40:02parties? Because Dak Prescott, like any
- 40:05other player, cares about himself.
- 40:07And I'm not taking shots at Dak. These are facts.
- 40:10Dak never stuck up for Jerry Jones over the last couple of
- 40:13years. I've never heard Dak Prescott
- 40:15say Jerry Jones is the best owner.
- 40:17He says he's a great owner to play for.
- 40:18Never said the best. Michael Parsons on his own radio
- 40:21show a year ago, and I can I can find what he said there.
- 40:25That Jerry Jones is by far the best owner in football.
- 40:27But then he throws them under the bus a year later because he
- 40:30didn't get the money that he wanted right away.
- 40:32I mean, come on it to me, it's blasphemy.
- 40:35That's what I think it is. I just think it's blasphemy.
- 40:37Yeah, I think, yeah. That would make him Jesus.
- 40:39If it's blasphemy, yeah. Well.
- 40:41Jerry Jones ain't. Jesus Well, he's done a lot for
- 40:43the NFL and he's brought money. You're.
- 40:45Calling Jerry Jones Jesus. He's been as far as when it.
- 40:48Blasphemy to go against Jerry Jones.
- 40:50Yeah, absolutely. Jerry Jones is the one that
- 40:52brings all these contracts. He's the one that redefines
- 40:55signed contracts for the NFL. You're going to tell.
- 40:58You're going to take that back from what Jerry Jones has done
- 41:00for the NFL over the years. Jerry Jones was everything.
- 41:03I think you're in exaggerated. No, I'm not his impact.
- 41:05No, I'm not. His impact was everything to the
- 41:07NFL. You asked Roger Goodell, you
- 41:09asked even Robert Kraft. Who?
- 41:11Who does he believe was a big pain?
- 41:12Turn water into wine or something.
- 41:14Like, why are you so into Jerry Jones?
- 41:16Because I have a lot of respect for a guy that stood tall for
- 41:19his organization, has stood tall for the the NFL, and he's gone
- 41:23at the NFL over the years. 1st. Of all when you go to these when
- 41:29you go to these owner meetings, who's the first person to speak?
- 41:31Who's the 1st last person to leave?
- 41:33It's Jerry Jones. All the owners respect Jerry
- 41:35Jones and what Jerry Jones has done for the league.
- 41:38Remember this when when Jerry Jones took over and he owned the
- 41:42cat when he first owned the Cowboys in 89, the league was
- 41:45really just for rich people. Jerry Jones has brought money to
- 41:50the NFL. He has brought contract and
- 41:52sponsorships to the NFL, has read the find a way for the NFL
- 41:57to make money. You got to give them a little
- 41:59bit more credit than you give them.
- 42:00And I understand you hate the Cowboys.
- 42:02You can't hate a guy that's brought the NFL to the forefront
- 42:06of professional sport. Remember, baseball at one point
- 42:09was the biggest sport in America.
- 42:11Now ladies and gentlemen, since the 90s, since the strike, since
- 42:15Jerry Jones has taken over for the Cowboys, who is number 1 in
- 42:21all of sports in America. The NFL that's I think you're
- 42:25attributing things that were not, not.
- 42:28It is him to that it is way no way they haven't.
- 42:31Won since 95, not winning. First of all, and we 30 years
- 42:35ago, we could go back in and we could talk about winners.
- 42:38And but does winning count as success now too, when he's
- 42:40valued as the most valuable franchise?
- 42:43Like, I get what I get what you're saying Fish too.
- 42:45As far as like as far as winning and not doing anything, Errol, I
- 42:48see your point too, as far as like the things that he's
- 42:50brought in and whatever. And obviously winning doesn't
- 42:54really mean much now with the TV deals and everything.
- 42:56And he's valued at was it 13 or 14 billion?
- 42:58Yeah, obviously it shows winning.
- 43:00Doesn't matter if if if you're valued at that, you know.
- 43:04But I both of your points are great.
- 43:06And remember, if you think about it, if you look at the Cowboys
- 43:08and what he bought the Cowboys for, he bought the Cowboys for
- 43:11150 million. Oh, what a fortune he made.
- 43:13And and look at the fortune and, and he did it by obviously or
- 43:17his oil rig and, and the money that he made through the oil and
- 43:20remember he was in debt $50 million before he bought the
- 43:22Cowboys. The story lies.
- 43:25That first episode, Errol, when they talk about that story, it
- 43:28was great. That was my favorite part of the
- 43:30dock. I just thought that was so like
- 43:32he was in debt, 50 million hit oil for 100 million plus, paid
- 43:36off his debt and bought the Cowboys with that money and just
- 43:39said let's go. I mean, you got to love that
- 43:41today. You know, teams are being bought
- 43:43by tech guys. I'd much rather be like a guy
- 43:46like Jerry Jones than a tech guy, I think.
- 43:48But at the same time. Or it's a lot of, it's a lot of
- 43:50groups. Now, too, Yeah, big groups, not
- 43:53family run. It's becoming different.
- 43:55It's not the same. It's it's going to be this kind
- 43:57of like not personal ownership, you know, for the things that I
- 44:00hate about Mara. They still like that as part of
- 44:02the Mara family. And I think we're going to start
- 44:04losing that in football. And when Jones is gone, I don't
- 44:07know if Stevens going to keep the team all that long.
- 44:08That's a lot of money. It's going to be and and
- 44:12remember, it's not just Steven, it's two other family members,
- 44:15his sister and his brother and and they're both going to have
- 44:18their hands deep into taking over one of the and I say
- 44:22whatever you want, one of the greatest owners in professional
- 44:24sports. You could say whatever you want.
- 44:25He is. So he has brought money to the
- 44:29NFL and he's done it in a way that nobody and no owner has
- 44:32ever done except George Steinbrenner.
- 44:34And who was his best friend when it came to ownership when
- 44:36professional sports. George Steinbrenner was Jerry
- 44:40Jones's best friend over the years.
- 44:42And, and he has come out and said that many, many times on
- 44:44many different documentaries. If it wasn't for George and, and
- 44:47George said it, if it wasn't for Jerry, he wouldn't be where he
- 44:51is today. So I, I think it's a little bit
- 44:53more respect that you should give him, especially being a
- 44:57Yankee fan buddy, that you should give Jerry Jones a little
- 44:59bit more credit than he deserves, OK.
- 45:01Bro I'm from New York teams, he can go screw himself.
- 45:04Anyways, ladies and gentlemen, we call this the whip around
- 45:10Whip, whip, whip around this. Makes my pecker hard.
- 45:15Errol, let's start the whip around.
- 45:17We're going to do a college football whip around.
- 45:19We're going to mix it up a little bit.
- 45:21Usually we don't. I'll start with your favorite
- 45:24because I know you're a big Seminoles fan.
- 45:26Florida State goes into Week 1 unranked against the not Nick
- 45:32Saban Alabama Crimson Tide as Kaitlyn de Boer came over from
- 45:36Washington. You remember they were great.
- 45:38Get to the white national championship game with Penex
- 45:40Junior. Well, Florida State goes in back
- 45:45home. They're home, right?
- 45:45And they blew him out and it was wasn't close.
- 45:49Gus Malzahn, offensive coordinator now for Florida
- 45:54State, had a nice quote after the game.
- 45:56Nice tweet after the game saying it felt like good old times when
- 45:59he used to beat up on Nick Saban when he was coaching at Auburn.
- 46:03Errol got to got to feel very different than last year around
- 46:06this time as a Seminole fan. Well, again, I am a Seminole fan
- 46:10and the Seminoles defense is one of the best in the nation.
- 46:12And I'm I'm going to say this as what we saw they do what they
- 46:16did against an Alabama Crimson Tide team.
- 46:18That's a very good running team and they stuff the run.
- 46:22They absolutely dominated a line of scrimmage.
- 46:24And again, the boar is under a lot of pressure this year.
- 46:27They have to make this tournament.
- 46:29If they don't make the tournament, is he gone after two
- 46:31years? Last year they didn't make the
- 46:33tournament. Me and Josh, we're going back
- 46:34and forth. I forgot that they were one of
- 46:36the one of the 14 teams, not one of the 12 teams that and two,
- 46:40one of the two teams that were left out.
- 46:43I mean, it's, it's a very huge responsibility taking over for
- 46:46Nick Saban to leave Washington and we're going to the national
- 46:50championship and losing in the national championship with
- 46:53Michael Pennix and then going and taking an Alabama job.
- 46:57That is a huge responsibility, a championship.
- 47:00Was it 6 championships in the last, I don't know, 15 years
- 47:04and, and taking over for Nick Saban.
- 47:06It's a lot of precious. Seminoles are going to be a lot
- 47:08better than a lot of people believe they're going to be this
- 47:10year. Are they a tournament team?
- 47:12Only time will tell. I like their defense.
- 47:14I don't know about their offense.
- 47:15I have to see moving forward when they play some of the other
- 47:19top elite teams. But it's a great start for the
- 47:22Seminoles. I loved it and de Boer has a lot
- 47:25more pressure than people even understand.
- 47:26Yeah, I'm going to start fish with what you said about the
- 47:28guys, Gus Melzan effect, even two years ago when he was what
- 47:31UCF is the head coach, W was actually at that game.
- 47:34Alabama barely squeaked by UCF in 2023 and then obviously he's
- 47:38beating him a lot of times with Auburn.
- 47:39So clearly there was incentive to that too.
- 47:41Now, Florida State, definitely, I knew it was going to be better
- 47:43than last year. Last year was an all time low
- 47:45for them, but I did not expect him to actually win the game.
- 47:48I thought it'd be close. I thought Alabama with a new
- 47:50quarterback was going to have some growing pains.
- 47:51The real growing pains for them, that was going to be their
- 47:53defense. Their defense did not look good
- 47:55at all. And maybe that's the impact of
- 47:57losing all the defensive players that they did, not having the
- 47:59same level of SEC and Kaylin De Boer kind of coaching like a
- 48:03like a PAC 12 team. He's not really coaching with
- 48:05that same intensity you need as an SEC team.
- 48:08Florida State I think will be better.
- 48:09Time will tell if they could do well at playing.
- 48:11Said to be a playoff team jumping the gun saying they're
- 48:13back yet, but they definitely have a good shot in a weak ACC.
- 48:17Yeah, I think it's great. And first of all, shout out to
- 48:21Lee Corso and what he's done for, for college football.
- 48:24And, and obviously going out on a high note, He, he picked every
- 48:28game. He was, he stood on an island by
- 48:31himself on a couple games. And I don't know if that was
- 48:34somebody in his ear or if that's what he was picking, but so cool
- 48:37what they did for him and what he's done for for college
- 48:40football. So that was cool.
- 48:41But yeah, it was, it was weird talking to a bunch of my Alabama
- 48:45fans. They're like, he didn't have to
- 48:46worry about anything. We didn't think this was going
- 48:48to be a game and blah, blah, blah.
- 48:49I was like, well, you know what? I don't know if you guys have
- 48:52paid attention, but this team is definitely better than they were
- 48:54last year. But yeah, and I say he's on the
- 48:57hot seat because what, Saigon's only lost, I think, like 4.
- 49:00And in these games, I think the board's like four and four or
- 49:03something like that, right? Coming soon and tic tac no Jabba
- 49:05be ready. All right, baby.
- 49:07Yeah, I didn't even know. But I'm ahead of the game, baby.
- 49:11You want to hear something crazy about Corso's picks?
- 49:14Jabba, he, he makes his six picks every game, every college
- 49:17weekend. He he hit all of them.
- 49:20And there was a Sports Illustrated writer who parlayed
- 49:23all six of his picks and hit at 190 to one on the Corso parlay.
- 49:30How about that? Man, why did it?
- 49:32There had to be something with like just the way the day.
- 49:36I don't know if you guys watched.
- 49:37It but just pretty special. Everything that happened, what
- 49:40they did and, and just how the the shout outs and everything
- 49:44and him just picking it all. Like if we were all smart, we
- 49:47would we would have taken that 190 to one too.
- 49:49But yeah, it's, it was crazy. It's in, you know, nobody's ever
- 49:53going to do it like him again. And I'd like to see what they're
- 49:56going to replace it with. But that's that's for another
- 49:58conversation. All right, let's move on.
- 50:00I'm not there yet. A couple of months.
- 50:01I'll be a man because I'll be 40.
- 50:04Well, let's talk about the great Mike Gundy and his new beef with
- 50:09Dan Landing, Oregon's head coach.
- 50:11Mike Gundy, famously, there's been an Oklahoma State for a
- 50:13long time. Had that great sound bite years
- 50:15ago. Kind of reprise it in the
- 50:17commercial where he's now 58, not 40 anymore.
- 50:20Either way, Mike Gundy had some things to say about Oregon's
- 50:23program. They didn't even play each
- 50:24other. They're both one and O.
- 50:26You know, they're both good teams.
- 50:27Oregon obviously looking like a playoff team this year.
- 50:31This is what he said. Oregon is paying a lot, a lot of
- 50:34money for their team from a non conference standpoint.
- 50:37Their coaches saying they should play teams with similar budgets
- 50:41they spent. Dan Lanning said they he thinks
- 50:43that they spent 40 million just this year on players, give or
- 50:47take a couple of million. He went on to say that his
- 50:50program has only spent 7 million in the past three years.
- 50:54Dan Lanning had a nice comment back.
- 50:57If you want to be a top ten team in college football, you better
- 51:01be invested in winning. We spend to win.
- 51:05Some people save to have an excuse for why they don't.
- 51:09I can't speak on their situation.
- 51:11I have no idea what they got in their pockets over there.
- 51:14I'm sure UT Martin, who they played this week, Oklahoma State
- 51:17maybe didn't have as much as they had monetarily and they
- 51:22played. So we'll just let it play out.
- 51:27NIL funding, Beefing between major college coaches.
- 51:31Errol. It's just the beginning, isn't?
- 51:33It oh, I think it's just the beginning and, and I don't think
- 51:36it's going to be Dan Lanning or anybody else that's going to
- 51:39complain about the money that their colleges hold.
- 51:42This has been going on forever. Danny Lanning.
- 51:44I'm going to stick up for Danny because I'm a big Danny Lanning
- 51:47fan. I, I love what Oregon is doing.
- 51:49I love the Oregon Ducks. I look at what they've done over
- 51:52the last couple years. Danny Lanning comes from the
- 51:55Nick Sabing, you know, tree and has done wonders for this
- 51:59organization and what this program.
- 52:01Now, obviously he's coming and just taking shots at Oklahoma
- 52:04State. Alabama has a lot of money,
- 52:06Texas A&M, all of them, They all have money.
- 52:08They're all spending money. Look at what Arch Manning is
- 52:11making right now with the deals and the NIL deals that he's
- 52:14getting right now. Arch Manning is O and one with
- 52:16the Texas Longhorns after losing against Ohio State.
- 52:21Nobody's complaining about that. I know we're going to get into
- 52:23that, but that's the fact here is it's not about that.
- 52:27It's about, hey, if you want to win, you got to spend money.
- 52:29Dan laning is is is just telling you how it is.
- 52:32If you got to complain about it, go into the go dig into somebody
- 52:35else's pockets over there at Oklahoma State.
- 52:37I'm sure there's multi billionaires over there with the
- 52:40school and the program over there.
- 52:42Go bother them. Oklahoma State's got crazy
- 52:45money. They they got T Boone thickens
- 52:47money. Granted, he's dead, but they
- 52:48still got it. But my like, play somebody with
- 52:51your own money, like in non conference, like, but you have a
- 52:54choice to, to spend the money the way you want to spend it.
- 52:57So I, I just for me, it's you're now we're in a day and age where
- 53:03you can spend without getting in trouble.
- 53:05Like it's, it's been happening for years.
- 53:07But for him to like get mad about, it's like, OK, you know
- 53:11what budget you have, go play, pay the players that you need to
- 53:15get like Oklahoma State, It's a great campus.
- 53:17Don't get me wrong, they haven't won either.
- 53:19But it doesn't matter if you're getting, you know, the extra
- 53:211,000,000 bucks, like don't get mad because they're spending and
- 53:24you're not. It just you have the ability to
- 53:26do it. It's just are you going to do it
- 53:28or not? And again, I'm sorry to cut you
- 53:31off. Alabama's been doing it for
- 53:32years when it was illegal. And Nick Saban is not going to
- 53:35admit it. They all have been doing it.
- 53:38Danny Lanning now has the money and it and he could do whatever
- 53:41he wants with it. So he's doing it.
- 53:43Why are you bitching about it? Go out there and spend your
- 53:46money like Jabba said. Oklahoma State.
- 53:48I didn't even know Oklahoma. Oklahoma State has that kind of
- 53:51money. If you got the money, spend it.
- 53:53Stop bitching about. It yeah, Mike Gundy was always a
- 53:55coach that I always thought was kind of more new school and kind
- 53:58of the last five years since COVID, he's been kind of like
- 54:00annoying where he's taking shots at all these different rules.
- 54:03Last year he was taking shots at the NIL as well.
- 54:05And again, it's tough for a program like that.
- 54:08I know Jabba, you were saying like they have a lot of good
- 54:09funding with that. But again, it's a it's a tough
- 54:11location. It's not like you're in USC or
- 54:13UCLA or any other big city like that.
- 54:15So a big in the Big 12, which is kind of third in those power
- 54:18conferences, it's still going to be difficult to make those
- 54:20comments and get want players who want to go there.
- 54:22And as far as it's comments are taking shots of like are who
- 54:24your small school opponents are. Like these schools are paying
- 54:27big money to play you to help their funding.
- 54:29So why are taking shots of these small schools like UT Martin
- 54:32that want to be able to grow like that?
- 54:35Take 12 schools. We're taking shots at SEC
- 54:37schools for cakewalk schedules for years now.
- 54:40You're being a hypocrite and going back on that kind of
- 54:41thing. It just makes no sense.
- 54:43Yeah, but you got to remember too, these, these smaller non
- 54:45conference teams, they get paid to play these schools too,
- 54:48right? That's what I'm saying.
- 54:50Like, for example, like Troy upsetting LSU in 2017, Like LSU
- 54:53paid him a ton of money to do that and Troy ended up beating
- 54:56him. Oh yeah, it's crazy.
- 54:57Like Troy, that quick note, when when did my buddy that passed to
- 55:02who poops talked about he he played and he's like, we didn't
- 55:05know we got paid and he goes. I didn't know if I was supposed
- 55:08to be pissed off at you guys or whatever because we were getting
- 55:11cheered and say thanks for coming as we were losing by 30.
- 55:14So it's like you're still getting paid.
- 55:16Like what? Like you're picking to choose
- 55:18and then complaining about it. Like what?
- 55:20You can't have your cake and eat it too here.
- 55:23So cool that you knew Bray Wyatt by like his real name.
- 55:26I just have to say that he's a big fan.
- 55:27But I, I think we got to change the Mike Gundy quote, Errol to
- 55:31I'm a man, I'm thrifty because apparently he's so proud that he
- 55:36doesn't spend money. He's going to not be thrifty.
- 55:40Or is he frugal? Well, I was trying to keep the
- 55:44rhyme scheme a little bit better than frugal, which I don't think
- 55:47rhymes with. I'm just saying you got to be
- 55:50frugal if you can complain about.
- 55:51It it is. It's weird though.
- 55:52Like why? Why?
- 55:54We know that it's wide open. Speedy, You said it like I don't
- 55:57understand that at all. Like compete.
- 56:00You got to compete with money. That's how it is.
- 56:02Sorry, sorry. It's not a student athlete game
- 56:04where you make all the millions and the kids don't anymore.
- 56:07Sorry, Mike. Especially in the 12, it's a
- 56:09very even conference. Right, You would think.
- 56:12Whatever Arch man, and you brought him up, Errol, he was
- 56:16underwhelming to say the least in the opening game.
- 56:20Big, big game to start college football season #1 Texas #3 Ohio
- 56:26State. Texas was outmatched.
- 56:29Archie Manning tried to lead a comeback late in the game, down
- 56:31to scores, does get one touchdown.
- 56:34Couldn't get the second. It was missing guys all game.
- 56:38Patriots. Former Patriots defensive
- 56:40coordinator. Former head coach in the NFL for
- 56:43the Lions, Matt Patricia is Ohio State's defensive coordinator.
- 56:48You could make the argument maybe a little overqualified for
- 56:50college football. The rocket scientist, as he
- 56:53calls himself. Well, well, look, I think I'll
- 56:57just save my little piece and you guys go on it because I
- 56:59think it's a lot to say Matt Patricia coach circles around
- 57:03what Arch did in that game, and I think you got to give him a
- 57:05little bit of. Credit for it.
- 57:08That's all you got. All right, So Arch Manning did
- 57:11not have a good game and Arch Manning has a lot of pressure on
- 57:14him. His great both his uncles,
- 57:16Peyton Manning and Eli Manning are Hall of Famers.
- 57:18His grandfather Arch Manning is a Hall of Famer.
- 57:21You have three guys and you're being compared and your your
- 57:25father Cooper was a pretty God darn good wide receiver didn't
- 57:29play in the NFL because he had back.
- 57:31He had a really bad back injury and it could have been made him
- 57:34paralyzed. But Arch Manning has a lot of
- 57:37pressure. He was a five star recruit,
- 57:38expected to be one of the elite quarterbacks this year playing
- 57:42for the Texas Longhorns, which are predicted to be one of the
- 57:45top three teams in the country. To go out there and lay a lousy
- 57:49Kusig against the Ohio State Buckeyes, the world champions
- 57:53from last year, Yeah. I mean, there was a lot of
- 57:56pressure on him in game #1 he didn't play well.
- 57:58One touchdown, what was it, 170 yards?
- 58:01He made a lot of mistakes. The fact is it's the first game
- 58:05of the season and he's kind of a rookie.
- 58:08He's he's really a freshman and he's got a lot of pressure on
- 58:11him. Give me.
- 58:12Your That was his first start on the road.
- 58:14Yeah, he's got a lot of pressure on him and it's against the
- 58:17Buckeyes, one of the best defenses in the country.
- 58:20I'm telling you right now, by the end of the season, this kids
- 58:23going to be significantly important to what the Texas
- 58:27Longhorns are going to be if they make this tournament, and
- 58:30he's one of the best players in the country at his position.
- 58:34He's going to prove it. Stop with this rubbishly crap
- 58:38that's coming out that this guy is not the real deal and he's
- 58:41not going to be a consistent player in the NCAA and put for
- 58:45the Texas Longhorns. This guy is a superstar and he's
- 58:48going to be the number one pick in the next two years of the NFL
- 58:51draft. So Bah humbug that.
- 58:53Yeah, they have a really good amount of defensive talent to
- 58:56Ohio State, even getting a lot drafted this year.
- 58:58They their recruiting class was one of the top 3 when it came to
- 59:00defensive players coming in from last year.
- 59:03So it was going to be a tough task either way.
- 59:05And there were a lot of really good plays as well by their Ohio
- 59:07State secondary. So even though ours only had 170
- 59:10yards, felt like he was making super inaccurate throws either.
- 59:12There were a couple short ones in the first half that I.
- 59:15First game, yeah, and I think. He did well like later in the
- 59:17game and deepened intermediate throws.
- 59:19And if you look at the overall stat, Texas moved the ball a lot
- 59:22better than Ohio State did in that game.
- 59:24What really cost them was Steve Sarkisian's red zone to play,
- 59:27call it, which cost Texas last year at points, cost him in the
- 59:30NFL when he was in Atlanta. It was horrible that year with a
- 59:32loaded offense when he was there in 2017 and Arch still outplayed
- 59:37Ohio State's quarterback at Julian saying in that game.
- 59:40The real impressive thought to this whole game was Sarkisian.
- 59:44This guy's one of the best offensive minds right now in the
- 59:47country, and he got out dueled by a guy that was a rocket
- 59:50science scientist or whatever he calls himself.
- 59:53What a joke. Sarkeesian should have went out
- 59:56there and had a good game plan for Arch or figure it out in the
- 1:00:00second-half of the game. Even though Arch played better
- 1:00:02in the second-half, Arch didn't really do what we expected him
- 1:00:06to do in game #1I. This is the Ohio State Buckeyes.
- 1:00:09Stop it, guys. This guy is the real deal.
- 1:00:12And I go back to Patricia, too, Like usually the coach has the
- 1:00:15advantage when it's coach versus player in football because you
- 1:00:18could disguise coverage as a way that they're not familiar with
- 1:00:20too. Especially like you're saying,
- 1:00:21fish Patricia being an NFL coach for a while, too.
- 1:00:24And those kinds of concepts aren't always in college
- 1:00:26football. And then you're doing it with,
- 1:00:28like I said, a defense as talented as Ohio states.
- 1:00:32Yeah, I just it for me, I'm like, what do you expect from
- 1:00:36this kid? It's I mean, he had two starts
- 1:00:38at home and now his first start on the road against Ohio State.
- 1:00:43Defending national champion. Have to throw out there on a
- 1:00:46side note too. I think it's a new year, new me
- 1:00:48with Mr. Day with his nipple piercing.
- 1:00:50I don't know if you guys saw that.
- 1:00:52When I saw that initially I thought they were going to
- 1:00:54accuse him of cheating. What's wrong with that guy man?
- 1:00:56There is something not taking. Right in his brain, man some.
- 1:01:00Interesting stuff. Yeah, there poops.
- 1:01:03There's no way. Did you see?
- 1:01:04I've had my nipples pierced and that's exactly what a barbell
- 1:01:07looks like in a shirt like. I mean Rex Ryan getting a tattoo
- 1:01:12of Mark Sanchez is weird. This guy getting his his nipple.
- 1:01:16Pierced. Is the tattoo weird or him
- 1:01:19sucking on toes in foot fetish? Was that weird?
- 1:01:21I would say the toes were weirder than the other.
- 1:01:24One, I mean, I'm sure Jabba sucks on toes, depending on the
- 1:01:27toes that he likes to look at. You got to try anything once,
- 1:01:32twice if you like it right. Let's talk.
- 1:01:42Let's try to get back under control, Paul Finebaum, the NCAA
- 1:01:47reporter on ESPN, He said it was underwhelming about Arch.
- 1:01:51He was uncomfortable. Just fill in the blank.
- 1:01:54Mostly he was terrible, said that on Sports Center.
- 1:01:57Biggest problem he had was on the other side completely
- 1:01:59outmatched and not only offensively and physically but
- 1:02:01scheme wise. You know a lot of people are
- 1:02:03hitting the panic button saying will be a bust.
- 1:02:05He was a bust in the first game but I don't think he will be
- 1:02:08long term. Kind of what you guys all said
- 1:02:10in the 12 team playoff era, there's a lot of time to get
- 1:02:12better. And I believe he will.
- 1:02:15I believe he will as well. That's I just think Patricia,
- 1:02:18look, sometimes it takes guys to fit a little bit time to figure
- 1:02:21it out. Patricia actually, I coached for
- 1:02:23a guy that had Patricia as a player when he was in college.
- 1:02:26So I, I'm a, I'm a big fan of Patricia through that lineage
- 1:02:31that I partially have. Rocket Science.
- 1:02:33By the way, with by the way, I have to had to cut in here.
- 1:02:35Speedy did suck on Britney's toes.
- 1:02:38It was a, it was a it was a bad. He was.
- 1:02:40Bet he lost the bet we played NBA2.
- 1:02:43K5 out fish. Fish, fish.
- 1:02:45I'm just as confused too I. We have a record scratch.
- 1:02:48He lost the bet. I lost, I lost the game of
- 1:02:50NBA2K. This was during COVID when I
- 1:02:52was. You sucked on your toes for a
- 1:02:54game of NBA2K. Was a bet yeah Arrow beat me by
- 1:02:58like 4. It was a really close.
- 1:03:00Game. Did you go big toe or what toe
- 1:03:02did you go? I think it was.
- 1:03:04I think it was the index. The index.
- 1:03:07Though. You sucked only the index
- 1:03:09though. Yes, he did.
- 1:03:10Yes, I had to. I had to.
- 1:03:12That was you didn't record that you didn't record.
- 1:03:14That was it, the right I. Don't know if I did, but I I
- 1:03:17definitely have a picture of. It you have you have to have
- 1:03:19video evidence of it I. Have a picture of it I think.
- 1:03:22Somewhere. Oh, that's fantastic.
- 1:03:24I have a picture of it and he lost the bet and and and again
- 1:03:27it. Was the tiebreaker game.
- 1:03:28We both won a game and that was. And if you're going to bet with
- 1:03:31me, anybody that knows me, if you're going to bet with me,
- 1:03:34it's going to be a real sick so. The fact that you said index toe
- 1:03:39makes it even. More.
- 1:03:41I sucked on her index toe with me.
- 1:03:46Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding.
- 1:03:48If you make a bet with me and you lose, you're screwed.
- 1:03:51So I'm just telling you you don't want to bet with me.
- 1:03:55You're. Going to look.
- 1:03:56Oh my God. All right, we got one story left
- 1:04:00and speak of someone who's might be interested in toes and other
- 1:04:02things with younger women. Mr. Bill Belichick.
- 1:04:06And the UNC Tar Heels were massacred by TCU 4814.
- 1:04:14They actually scored the firt on the 1st Dr. of the game,
- 1:04:17obviously a scripted drive by Belichick and crew, and then got
- 1:04:21absolutely blasted. Belichick, always known for his
- 1:04:25great postgame quotes. We're better than we were
- 1:04:30tonight. But we have to go out there and
- 1:04:32show that and prove it. Nobody's going to do it for us.
- 1:04:36We're going to have to do it ourselves.
- 1:04:38That's what we're going to do. Bill Belichick in peak form, at
- 1:04:43least in press conferences after the game for him.
- 1:04:46But during the game, they looked lost out there against a team
- 1:04:50that I don't think people really were thinking you're going to go
- 1:04:53anywhere this year in TCU. Well, look at it this way.
- 1:04:56You lost against a team called the Horned Frogs.
- 1:05:00Okay, the Horned Frogs and they were in the national
- 1:05:03championship game. What was it 3 years ago, Two
- 1:05:07years ago? And this is a good, this is a
- 1:05:09good TCU team. This is always a good TCU team,
- 1:05:13very well coached and very well put together.
- 1:05:16There's a good program that could actually make the
- 1:05:19tournament this year, UNC. And everybody thought UNC going
- 1:05:23into this game was going to be able to compete with TCO, TCU,
- 1:05:27with Bill Belichick. They were up 7, nothing UNC and
- 1:05:31then everything started to fall right flat on their face.
- 1:05:35They went from 7, nothing to being down 41 to 7.
- 1:05:40OK. It was absolutely horrible to
- 1:05:42watch. And, and honestly, it's the
- 1:05:45first game of the season. I don't believe UNC is going to
- 1:05:47be this bad, but what happens if they are?
- 1:05:50What is Bill Belichick going to do at the end of the season when
- 1:05:54everybody talks about how he's the greatest coach of all time
- 1:05:57when it comes to the NFL? His best buddy, Nick Saban, was
- 1:06:01arguably the greatest college coach of all time.
- 1:06:03And they were comparing each other for years.
- 1:06:06They had the they they had a I think it was a documentary with
- 1:06:10him and Nick on on the same documentary comparing each
- 1:06:13other. And now you go and lays up lay
- 1:06:15up a lousy goose egg in your first at first college game as a
- 1:06:19head coach. Nick Saban has some bragging
- 1:06:22rights, baby. If this guy just falls flat on
- 1:06:25his face as a coach in college, Oh my God, it was so bad, so
- 1:06:29horrible to watch and his his arguments and his attacks.
- 1:06:34Really nothing to say at the media and and really
- 1:06:38embarrassing himself once again as the ex Patriots coach having
- 1:06:42nothing to say. The game plan was absolutely
- 1:06:44falling right on his own face so.
- 1:06:47Yeah, it's interesting because two days apart, literally with
- 1:06:50our two shows, that week was the day that Belichick stepped down
- 1:06:53from the Patriots and then Saban retired.
- 1:06:55It was like the craziest 6 fish. I think it was like 3 weeks
- 1:06:57before you joined us or something like that.
- 1:06:59It was like it was crazy. And Errol brought up that
- 1:07:01documentary like Bill Belichick. Maybe he wants to join college
- 1:07:04football. Dude they were arguing going
- 1:07:07back and forth who was greater? I mean Nick winning 6 champions
- 1:07:11championships over there with Alabama and remember he won one
- 1:07:14with LSU if I'm not mistaken. And and then then Bill Belichick
- 1:07:19saying that it was harder to win 5 championships and NFL Super
- 1:07:23Bowls and they were going back and forth who was better.
- 1:07:26And then Bill Belichick. Nick Saban didn't last very
- 1:07:29well, very, very long with the NFL in Miami, even though he
- 1:07:33retired with the NFL with a winning record.
- 1:07:37Bill Belichick, He goes in his first game and loses 48 to 14
- 1:07:42against the TCU Horn Frogs. What an embarrassment.
- 1:07:47There's a difference too. When you look at like, even
- 1:07:49though we think down the road that Bill Belichick might have
- 1:07:51some incentive to be able to have power with the transfer
- 1:07:54portal and the recruiting, like it's not there yet.
- 1:07:56I think they were saying that there were only like 14, four or
- 1:07:59five star recruits within their first like their starters on
- 1:08:02their roster, guys that play a lot like NFL scouts.
- 1:08:04And obviously all these big names are coming out, but the
- 1:08:07roster is just not there yet. And you look at TCU on the other
- 1:08:09side too. Sonny Dykes is one of the better
- 1:08:11offensive minds in the country. Obviously, they went into the
- 1:08:14national championship two years ago.
- 1:08:15They were just bad last year because they lost their entire
- 1:08:17team pretty much. And we knew they were going to
- 1:08:19be good into the bounce back candidate this year.
- 1:08:21And Sonny Dykes is not afraid to coach the way he wants to coach,
- 1:08:24even against somebody like Bill Belichick.
- 1:08:26Yeah, and it wasn't that the most points Bill has given up
- 1:08:29like 48. Did it look weird?
- 1:08:31I have, I don't like it just it looked like, I get he had his
- 1:08:35MO, like when he was doing the interview with Holly Rowe, he's
- 1:08:38like, oh, she was like, yeah, the, the 3/4.
- 1:08:41He's like, yeah, that's, that's kind of my look and whatever.
- 1:08:43And just, you know, that kind of dried backhanded funny comment,
- 1:08:47which it, it fits in, but it just for me, it kind of, it just
- 1:08:50felt weird seeing him there. And then when they, I don't know
- 1:08:53if you guys caught this too. She was on the sideline.
- 1:08:55And then the meme was like, hey, I need $20.00 for the concession
- 1:08:58stand. I'm I'm pretty sure I lost it
- 1:09:00right there. It was pretty funny.
- 1:09:01But yeah, it's just going into it like he's a great coach.
- 1:09:06There's no, there's no getting around.
- 1:09:07And like you guys said, it's are they going to be this bad?
- 1:09:10Are they going to get beat like this all year?
- 1:09:11No, he figured out. But as he said in the interview,
- 1:09:14he can't play for him. He can't do that.
- 1:09:16He can just put him in the right decision to make those things.
- 1:09:18And as the mind that he is, he's definitely going to do that.
- 1:09:21So yeah, it was, it was interesting to see it was, it
- 1:09:24was still a little weird to wrap your head around it because
- 1:09:26obviously you've you've seen it. But then actually to see him on
- 1:09:30a college football sideline and like, oh, wow, he's still.
- 1:09:33You just kind of look at it and you're like, yeah, this is kind
- 1:09:35of weird. Well, Bill Belichick gave up 48
- 1:09:38points, still 1 less than his age difference of 49 years with
- 1:09:42his girlfriend and that is been your whip around.
- 1:09:46All right, ladies and gentlemen, my golf clap of the week.
- 1:09:51This deserves a golf clap. No doubt.
- 1:09:54Golf clap. Golf clap.
- 1:09:58Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we were talking about the UNC Yes
- 1:10:01game and yes. Guess who was spotted at the
- 1:10:04game? The one and only Aaron Boone.
- 1:10:08On Monday, the New York Yankees had an off day After playing the
- 1:10:13Chicago White Sox on the road game.
- 1:10:15Manager Aaron Boone decided to spend his off day by attending
- 1:10:19the TCU and North Carolina Game Match up at 8:00 PM.
- 1:10:23Boone watched TCU beat North Carolina 48 to 14 on Monday Day
- 1:10:28night. Many Yankee fans wondered why he
- 1:10:31attended the game in the 1st place.
- 1:10:34New York Yankees has a 7661 record this season and they are
- 1:10:402 1/2 games behind Toronto right now for first place.
- 1:10:44The Yankees will begin their three-game series on the road
- 1:10:48against the Houston Astros. And Yankee fans all over social
- 1:10:51media were attacking the fact that he was there.
- 1:10:53There was video that he was there.
- 1:10:55Here's my golf clap on why I think this is absolutely
- 1:10:58ridiculous. If he has an off date and he
- 1:11:01wants to go and watch UNC and the Tar Heels get their butts
- 1:11:05whipped by TCU, by golly he should.
- 1:11:08Maybe it would open his eyes on some of the absolute
- 1:11:11ridiculousness of his play calling and management over
- 1:11:16there in the dugout over this season, this garbage of a team.
- 1:11:21And maybe he'll wonder it why he's going to lose his job at
- 1:11:26the end of the season when this team falls flat on their face in
- 1:11:29the playoffs. So Yankee fans, what are you
- 1:11:32complaining about? On his off day, he wants to
- 1:11:34spend his money to go to a TCU game and watch the TCU Horned
- 1:11:38Frogs knock off the Tar Heels and watch Bill Belichick cry to
- 1:11:43every single media guy saying. Well, which is what game?
- 1:11:49Who cares? So my golf clap of the day goes
- 1:11:52to yes, Yankees manager, the one and only Aaron Boone show up to
- 1:11:57a game. Who cares?
- 1:11:58There's just win a God damn game for the New York kinks.
- 1:12:01Win this, this damn series against the Houston Astros this
- 1:12:05week, please. Maybe the Yankees win this, win
- 1:12:08the division and and maybe don't have to play in that God
- 1:12:10forsaken wild card game because if they do, they're getting
- 1:12:13knocked out. So my Golf Club of the day goes
- 1:12:15to Aaron Boone. Ladies and gentlemen, we love
- 1:12:18you Aaron. I, I love you, Aaron.
- 1:12:20Hopefully you do something after that debacle of a game you just
- 1:12:24watched. Anyways, thank you to all the
- 1:12:26fans on all the social medias from Apple to TikTok to
