- 1:02Speaker 1: I also want to touch on one point right here.
- 1:05Speaker 1: This was a tweet that of course Michael Saylor put
- 1:07Speaker 1: out and he says Strategy is sold thirty five hundred.
- 1:09Speaker 1: This was the announcement two hundred and sixteen million bitcoin
- 1:13Speaker 1: in bitcoin to fund dividends. And this in reference to
- 1:16Speaker 1: the digital credit securities for Stretch. Okay, so if you
- 1:18Speaker 1: guys don't know, if you're brand new the channel Stretch
- 1:20Speaker 1: out there pays dividends, do it a couple of times
- 1:23Speaker 1: a month. Strategy has been out there. They don't have
- 1:26Speaker 1: to sell. They got a bunch of cash on the
- 1:27Speaker 1: reserve side. But they're doing it, we believe, to test
- 1:31Speaker 1: the market. And of course that is the point that
- 1:33Speaker 1: we're going to get into today because what is this
- 1:35Speaker 1: going to do to bitcoin in general? If you look
- 1:37Speaker 1: at Strategy as a whole, master has fallen out over
- 1:42Speaker 1: the past year. This is the amount that it is
- 1:44Speaker 1: down seventy five percent, So that's a significant amount if
- 1:47Speaker 1: you're a stockholder of micro Strategy or Strategy right now.
- 1:51Speaker 1: And that is the point that we're getting at Strategy
- 1:53Speaker 1: course and their position around this dividend is the issue.
- 1:56Speaker 1: This is going need to continue, going to continue. If
- 2:00Speaker 1: you are a STRETCH holder, you are getting these kinds
- 2:03Speaker 1: of dividends paid out to you, and it's increased over
- 2:06Speaker 1: what was originally at eleven percent, now above that. So
- 2:10Speaker 1: all of this playing out in the market wide open,
- 2:13Speaker 1: and of course everybody's talking about it, including Peter Schiff.
- 2:16Speaker 1: He comes on micro Strategy spent the last two weeks
- 2:19Speaker 1: selling bitcoin. The average price on that was sold at
- 2:22Speaker 1: sixty thousand. Given masters average costs, that's a realized loss
- 2:25Speaker 1: of about fifteen thousand per bitcoin, or about fifty four
- 2:29Speaker 1: million based on this seal. So the question is how
- 2:32Speaker 1: long can this last? If you look at this continuing
- 2:36Speaker 1: and if you kind of compare what other people are
- 2:39Speaker 1: looking at. Zach Pandele comes on the show, often coming
- 2:42Speaker 1: in from Gracial. He says, in my view, bitcoin sales
- 2:44Speaker 1: by Strategy are needed to restore confidence in Stretch and
- 2:48Speaker 1: its structural in general. And I think this is the point.
- 2:52Speaker 1: If he's meeting Michael said, or if he's restoring confidence
- 2:55Speaker 1: to the market saying hey, it's okay if I sell
- 2:57Speaker 1: some bitcoin to be able to handle some of these
- 3:00Speaker 1: for these dividends it's not going to affect the market,
- 3:03Speaker 1: or is it? Because remember the first time, and I
- 3:05Speaker 1: think that's the narrative that everybody's kind of worried about,
- 3:08Speaker 1: is that Michael Sator was kind of a never be
- 3:10Speaker 1: a net seller. But I think that time has changed,
- 3:14Speaker 1: and it's also repositioned Strategy going forward. If you look
- 3:17Speaker 1: at the Bitcoin reaction far less to Strategy's latest versus
- 3:23Speaker 1: much larger scale, and you consider the last one that
- 3:25Speaker 1: we saw just a small amount but had a pretty
- 3:28Speaker 1: big breakdown, and then eighty six times larger by dollar value,
- 3:34Speaker 1: had a big breakdown, And here we are on July sixth,
- 3:37Speaker 1: Strategy sells the two hundred sixteen million, and also a
- 3:42Speaker 1: breakdown from around sixty three high to where we are
- 3:45Speaker 1: trading right now as we're recording, Bitcoin has bounced back
- 3:49Speaker 1: up above sixty three. Case. If you go to this
- 3:51Speaker 1: tweet right here, it kind of breaks down the timing here.
- 3:55Speaker 1: One of course you got to look at is June
- 3:57Speaker 1: twenty ninth, that's where thirteen hundred went out, and then
- 3:59Speaker 1: we saw July first, just a few days later, another
- 4:02Speaker 1: twenty two hundred go out. So that was the total
- 4:05Speaker 1: aggregate sale price of what was going on. And that's
- 4:10Speaker 1: the point I think is if you look at this,
- 4:13Speaker 1: could we see more spacing like this every few days
- 4:17Speaker 1: another flow of bitcoin goes out. Is that something that
- 4:20Speaker 1: is going to become a commonplace for strategy and will
- 4:24Speaker 1: the market actually respond that way. Fong Lee, who is
- 4:28Speaker 1: the president of Strategy, said, strategy is evolving from a
- 4:32Speaker 1: one way capital issuance to an active capital management and
- 4:35Speaker 1: this is what he's talking about in terms of selling
- 4:38Speaker 1: some bitcoin. But if you look at the narrative that
- 4:41Speaker 1: this kind of breaks down because a lot of people
- 4:43Speaker 1: were saying that stretch was going to zero, they're now
- 4:47Speaker 1: arriving at the completely wrong conclusion about strategies bitcoin sale.
- 4:51Speaker 1: What they're getting at is this has destroyed the Ponzi
- 4:54Speaker 1: narrative and is clear demonstration of their willingness to sell
- 4:58Speaker 1: bitcoin if necessary, and that I think is the key
- 5:02Speaker 1: statement right there, if necessary. This makes me believe that
- 5:06Speaker 1: this move is really just to let the market know
- 5:09Speaker 1: that this is something that can happen and hopefully the
- 5:12Speaker 1: market doesn't react. It's also about proving that they can
- 5:15Speaker 1: monetize their holding even during a bitcoin stress word used
- 5:18Speaker 1: by S and P Global back in October when they
- 5:21Speaker 1: assign strategy, they're b rating, So that all makes sense
- 5:25Speaker 1: going to where we are now, and that is what's
- 5:28Speaker 1: bitcoin going to do if we continue to see this
- 5:32Speaker 1: going forward. Take a look at this clip.
- 5:34Speaker 2: If you look at it from their perspective. In aftermath,
- 5:37Speaker 2: they took a big realized loss which is going to
- 5:40Speaker 2: help with their tax which is going to help with taxation,
- 5:43Speaker 2: and they're now funded. So there's no reason for MicroStrategy
- 5:47Speaker 2: to be a drag on Bitcoin. Is no reason to
- 5:50Speaker 2: believe anything other than the fact that if Bitcoin rises,
- 5:53Speaker 2: they will be able to pyramid in because of the
- 5:57Speaker 2: quality of their balance sheet, et cetera, et cetera. Me,
- 6:00Speaker 2: it's not a big deal. It is, however, indicative. It's
- 6:05Speaker 2: much more of a big deal for MicroStrategy stock than
- 6:08Speaker 2: it is for Bitcoin. I think at this point, I
- 6:10Speaker 2: think it's actually net positive for Bitcoin that it happened
- 6:12Speaker 2: and people didn't know. I mean, if you look, I
- 6:14Speaker 2: mean the fact that that Bitcoin sold off on this
- 6:19Speaker 2: sailor news while Ethereum and Salona really didn't, is hyper
- 6:25Speaker 2: Liquid certainly didn't is interesting, right, you know, It's just look,
- 6:30Speaker 2: it's green shoots, very very very early green shoots of
- 6:33Speaker 2: capital rotation, and I actually I'm more like Mike. I
- 6:38Speaker 2: don't think much is going to happen, at least for
- 6:40Speaker 2: the summer. I don't think much is going to happen
- 6:41Speaker 2: over the next couple of months. But you know, you know,
- 6:44Speaker 2: we shall see. But it certainly is. I wouldn't have
- 6:47Speaker 2: guessed this would have been the reaction.
- 6:50Speaker 1: All right, So to their point right there, as they feel,
- 6:53Speaker 1: these are very pro bitcoin analysts out there on the
- 6:56Speaker 1: Scott Melkers show over there, So I think that's the question.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Maybe you guys could also drop some comments down. I'm
- 7:01Speaker 1: kind of curious, what do you think. Do you think
- 7:03Speaker 1: this is going to continue to put pressure on bitcoin
- 7:06Speaker 1: like it has in the past or is it now?
- 7:09Speaker 1: Oh no, this is normal everyday business processes with strategy,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and bitcoin doesn't have a concern every time say it,
- 7:18Speaker 1: our sales regardless of how much the overhang becomes less
- 7:21Speaker 1: and less of a narrative driver for a lower Bitcoin.
- 7:24Speaker 1: And that's the point that I think that he's getting to.
- 7:28Speaker 1: And now that we've talked to a handful of analysts,
- 7:30Speaker 1: including some of the bigger bank guys, who are kind
- 7:33Speaker 1: of coming to that very point is also in that
- 7:35Speaker 1: same point, and that is a little bit out let
- 7:38Speaker 1: a little of this happen, and it's starting to prep
- 7:40Speaker 1: the market for a new way that strategy is managing
- 7:43Speaker 1: their bitcoin. All of this is now moving in I believe,
- 7:48Speaker 1: maybe into a position at least neutral on bitcoin. If
- 7:52Speaker 1: you look at eth is flooding into the robin Hood
- 7:54Speaker 1: chain right here, eth Bridge from the Ethereum to robin
- 7:57Speaker 1: Hood chain serves ten x in just a few days.
- 8:00Speaker 1: We've talked about this over the last couple of weeks
- 8:03Speaker 1: of the launch, with last week it's early sign users
- 8:06Speaker 1: are moving capital on robin Hood's new Ethereum layer two,
- 8:09Speaker 1: more eth Bridge, more L two activity. All of this
- 8:12Speaker 1: is good I think for Ethan general. And when you
- 8:15Speaker 1: look at the latest crypto liquidity overall, USDC and USDT
- 8:19Speaker 1: both market caps wise have been falling three point six
- 8:23Speaker 1: and two percent over the last thirty days, So that's
- 8:25Speaker 1: another one. A lot of pressure on crypto right now.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Liquidity is starting to play into this. Are people maybe
- 8:31Speaker 1: having to pay some shorts. Are they in a position
- 8:34Speaker 1: right now where they're rotating capital out of USDC or
- 8:37Speaker 1: stable coins into something on the market because the market
- 8:41Speaker 1: might be responding up if you look at where a
- 8:44Speaker 1: lot of people are considering that the market may go
- 8:47Speaker 1: based on Clarity. If you look at Clarity though, we
- 8:50Speaker 1: missed the July fourth date, which was a huge date
- 8:53Speaker 1: to miss. I think Trump kind of wanted this to happen,
- 8:57Speaker 1: but of course it did not. And one thing to
- 9:00Speaker 1: kind of make note of right here, center returns from
- 9:02Speaker 1: July fourth on July thirteenth, So that's still next week.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Roughly three usable Senate work weeks remained before the chamber
- 9:09Speaker 1: disperses in August. Then three fights have also have blocked
- 9:14Speaker 1: the cloture vote, which is what's needed to pass the
- 9:18Speaker 1: unresolved issue this morning. So point being is this could
- 9:21Speaker 1: go well into August, maybe even to early September before
- 9:25Speaker 1: we get some sort of activity. Many people I've talked
- 9:28Speaker 1: to over the last year have always said that this
- 9:31Speaker 1: would never go this late because of midterms. And now
- 9:34Speaker 1: here we are and it's going this late and midterms
- 9:37Speaker 1: are up, honest, and does it have a factor into
- 9:41Speaker 1: this and does it really matter? I think that's the
- 9:43Speaker 1: question that a lot of people are looking at. Clarity
- 9:46Speaker 1: Act signed in the law, even though in the last
- 9:48Speaker 1: week it came off a floor which was around thirty
- 9:51Speaker 1: nine to forty percent, and it started to move up
- 9:53Speaker 1: a little bit. Who knows why. Maybe the fact that
- 9:57Speaker 1: it's still living is the key thing there. Okay, so
- 10:01Speaker 1: let's move back to bitcoin for a second. I want
- 10:03Speaker 1: to show you guys something that just recently happened right here,
- 10:06Speaker 1: and that is Trump saying that something could happen in
- 10:10Speaker 1: regards to bitcoin going into the Trump account. So he
- 10:14Speaker 1: says it, right, you're a big fan of crypto, maybe
- 10:17Speaker 1: something could happen. You look at that, and I want
- 10:20Speaker 1: to go to a clip here that will kind of
- 10:21Speaker 1: explain it a little bit more. Take a look plans
- 10:24Speaker 1: to put.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Bitcoin in this Trump accounts.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Well, I'm a big crypto. I've become a big crypto
- 10:28Speaker 3: guy only for one reason. If we don't have it,
- 10:32Speaker 3: China is going to have it, and they would like
- 10:34Speaker 3: to have it. And I got involved in a little
- 10:36Speaker 3: bit for politics, you know, because I realize a lot
- 10:39Speaker 3: of people love crypto.
- 10:40Speaker 1: All right, So, as you can see, the political landscape
- 10:44Speaker 1: is very critical right now. This of course, with what
- 10:47Speaker 1: Trump is trying to do, clarity is going to be
- 10:50Speaker 1: a pivotal point, I think, not only in the market,
- 10:52Speaker 1: but also how the White House is going to be
- 10:55Speaker 1: dealing with is because remember one of the biggest issues
- 10:58Speaker 1: that Clarity is facing is the ethics issue overall. If
- 11:02Speaker 1: you consider what we won't go into a lot of
- 11:04Speaker 1: what Trump has done in terms of performance, which he's
- 11:06Speaker 1: been a very good crypto investor in general, but it
- 11:10Speaker 1: will start to, I think, play a big role. The
- 11:13Speaker 1: other things that are going to play a big role
- 11:14Speaker 1: in the markets going forward, at least from where we
- 11:16Speaker 1: are right now, is what's going to happen in the
- 11:19Speaker 1: IPO side and who and what's going to happen in AI.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Chat GPT five six drops this week. When this happens,
- 11:28Speaker 1: we could remember open Ay going to be another IPO
- 11:31Speaker 1: coming out. We've got Anthropic talking about another one going out.
- 11:34Speaker 1: So the next seven days could decide the entire AI market,
- 11:37Speaker 1: meaning the fight between Anthropic and also remember Fable five
- 11:41Speaker 1: just got re released, so it's available now out there
- 11:44Speaker 1: today and Chat GPT five six has to be able
- 11:48Speaker 1: to go out there and compete with it. All of
- 11:49Speaker 1: this is really posturing for these IPOs going down to
- 11:53Speaker 1: the wire, and Tom Lee talks about this, so he
- 11:56Speaker 1: talks about the fact that we could still be bullish,
- 12:00Speaker 1: but yet still have a bit of a pullback. Take
- 12:02Speaker 1: a look, eight thousand is doable this year?
- 12:06Speaker 4: Yes, the S and P. Yeah, you know even eighty
- 12:09Speaker 4: four eighty eight hundred kind of would be the upside
- 12:12Speaker 4: into your end. But I do think between now and
- 12:15Speaker 4: your end there should be you know, something that might
- 12:18Speaker 4: feel like a bear market too. Not in July, but
- 12:21Speaker 4: maybe you know, between August and October. Why not in July?
- 12:26Speaker 4: June wasn't a great month. And so and I think
- 12:29Speaker 4: there are a lot of fund managers trailing the benchmark
- 12:32Speaker 4: this year. You know, only twenty three percent of fund
- 12:34Speaker 4: managers are beating the large cap growth index. That's the
- 12:37Speaker 4: lowest number in almost five years. So I think there's
- 12:40Speaker 4: going to be a lot of dip buying this month.
- 12:41Speaker 1: What is a what do you mean it feels like
- 12:43Speaker 1: a bear market? Doesn't go down twenty percent?
- 12:48Speaker 4: Uh?
- 12:48Speaker 1: You know it might? All right? So wow, interesting statements there.
- 12:54Speaker 1: So Tom still believes we've got a high market coming,
- 12:58Speaker 1: but yet there could be a major into what the
- 13:01Speaker 1: analyst was asking him direct, could a twenty percent And
- 13:05Speaker 1: Lee is kind of on the fence about it, but yeah,
- 13:08Speaker 1: could be happening. And here we are, guys, it's July. Okay,
- 13:11Speaker 1: we're halfway through the year. What kind of bear market
- 13:14Speaker 1: would that exist in if we are only going to
- 13:17Speaker 1: see a handful of months before we see what a
- 13:20Speaker 1: market blow off? In terms of how this plays out.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Here's a good example of this. We believe the SMP
- 13:26Speaker 1: is setting up for eight thousand and chip stocks have
- 13:30Speaker 1: quietly become the new leaders of this bull market. While
- 13:33Speaker 1: the many of the mag seven have declined twenty percent.
- 13:36Speaker 1: A lot of the tech market has continued, but the
- 13:38Speaker 1: remember semiconductor market has continued to be a big, big
- 13:42Speaker 1: performer this year. Is there a rotation of capital though
- 13:45Speaker 1: during all of this with this aggressive market stance? In
- 13:50Speaker 1: other words, could we see a rotation into crypto in general?
- 13:53Speaker 1: I think that's the point everybody's watching and are we
- 13:56Speaker 1: nearing the bottom? The one thing that could hedge all
- 14:00Speaker 1: of this is what happens in September, and that is
- 14:03Speaker 1: Trump and g are going to be meeting here in
- 14:06Speaker 1: the US. This will be G's first visit, so very
- 14:10Speaker 1: big deal could be good for the US. I think
- 14:13Speaker 1: it's good for the markets in generals to see China
- 14:15Speaker 1: in the United States at least working some kind of
- 14:19Speaker 1: deals out and especially as we continue to see an
- 14:22Speaker 1: issue around inflation, what the FED is going to do
- 14:25Speaker 1: All of that plays into the next few months very
- 14:28Speaker 1: critical for where the market is heading. We're going to
- 14:30Speaker 1: stay very close to this, so stay tuned. If you
