- 0:14Speaker 1: right to your email. A lot of people read this.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Go to Unleash Prosperity dot com. Steve Moore, how you doing.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Hey, Mark, You're doing well. Thanks for having me. Tumultuous week.
- 0:26Speaker 2: The government is still shut down. It's unbelievable. I thought
- 0:29Speaker 2: this would last a couple of days. It's been several
- 0:31Speaker 2: weeks now it's causing more and more disruption. I don't
- 0:34Speaker 2: know if you've been traveling at all, but there's a
- 0:36Speaker 2: you know, a lot of delays at the airports and
- 0:38Speaker 2: so on. So we got to get this thing settled.
- 0:40Speaker 2: But Republicans cannot cave in here. I mean, we're trying
- 0:43Speaker 2: to slice just a little bit of the cost of
- 0:45Speaker 2: our government, and the Democrats won't even allow it. Two
- 0:48Speaker 2: cents saving out of every dollar that we're spending, two
- 0:51Speaker 2: cents out of every dollar. It's unbelievable.
- 0:53Speaker 1: So if you listen to Chuck Schumer, it's healthcare premiums.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Everybody's going to die every What is the truth about
- 0:59Speaker 1: this fight with the health here?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Well, I think the real villain here. I mean, this
- 1:02Speaker 2: is a teachable lesson for all of us that remember
- 1:05Speaker 2: it was fifteen years ago that we passed Obamacare. In fact,
- 1:09Speaker 2: I was just looking on Talx News and they were
- 1:10Speaker 2: saving up. They showed a you know, a clip of
- 1:15Speaker 2: Obama signing the Obamacare law. Do you remember, Mark, what
- 1:20Speaker 2: the name of the Obamacare.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Law was, the Affordable Care Act.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I mean, how ironic is I mean, all that's happened
- 1:30Speaker 2: since we passed the quote Affordable Care actors that healthcare
- 1:33Speaker 2: gets more and more and more expensive. Report the other
- 1:37Speaker 2: day that the average family is now paying thirty thousand
- 1:40Speaker 2: dollars a year what on health insurance because it's just
- 1:44Speaker 2: so expensive now and so and by the way, some
- 1:46Speaker 2: of that is employee paid by their employers, but it's
- 1:49Speaker 2: it's a giant it's a giant tax on the American economy.
- 1:53Speaker 2: By the way, the insurance companies are one of the
- 1:55Speaker 2: villains here. They're in on this. They're all for expanding
- 1:58Speaker 2: Obamacare subsidies because the money goes right into their pockets.
- 2:02Speaker 2: But what they're basically saying is we want to make
- 2:04Speaker 2: sure that people were not even eligible for Medicare and
- 2:08Speaker 2: medicaid the get the benefits because you know, we're so
- 2:11Speaker 2: we're so rich with cash in Washington, we can be
- 2:13Speaker 2: passing around free money. It's really it's really quite outrageous.
- 2:16Speaker 2: And we if we if the Republicans came in here,
- 2:19Speaker 2: we might as well just say, okay, we're going to
- 2:21Speaker 2: run two trillion dollar deforts from now until forever.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Yeah, let me makes you something. You know, they announced
- 2:26Speaker 1: the tariffs. Everybody says that's going to crash the whole market.
- 2:29Speaker 1: They announced shutdown. It's going to crash the whole market.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Russian sanctions is going to crash the whole market. Market
- 2:34Speaker 1: is fine, it's setting new records all the time.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Why is that? This is that it is unbelievable. By
- 2:40Speaker 2: the way, just give you some context here. You know
- 2:42Speaker 2: the forty let's see, it was about forty five years
- 2:48Speaker 2: ago that Ronald Reagan was elected president. Do you know
- 2:51Speaker 2: what the Dow Jones industrial average was back then? There?
- 2:54Speaker 2: Six thousand, not even close, my friends, it was one down.
- 3:00Speaker 2: What the think about that? It was one thousands. To
- 3:02Speaker 2: look it up, the Dow is at one thousand. Now
- 3:04Speaker 2: here we are forty five years later after the Reagan
- 3:07Speaker 2: Revolution and the Trump Revolution, and it is at forty
- 3:11Speaker 2: forty six thousand last time I checked. So we've seen
- 3:14Speaker 2: the biggest period of wealth creation in the history of
- 3:16Speaker 2: civilization here. It's an incredible success story of the American economy.
- 3:22Speaker 2: And we need to get more and more Americans invested
- 3:24Speaker 2: in the market because that's how you make Maybe you
- 3:27Speaker 2: make money is you save and you invest. But now
- 3:31Speaker 2: we're in a situation, as you said, remember Paul Krugman,
- 3:35Speaker 2: all these people when when a Trump was elected both
- 3:37Speaker 2: in twenty sixteen and twenty twenty four, Oh my god,
- 3:40Speaker 2: Armageddon's coming. We're all going to die. The stock market's
- 3:43Speaker 2: going to crash. It's going to be another you know,
- 3:46Speaker 2: another nineteen twenty nine crash. Gee, where is it then?
- 3:49Speaker 2: Because you're right, the market, the stock market, the Dow, Jones,
- 3:53Speaker 2: the Nasdaq, the S and P five hundred, and the
- 3:57Speaker 2: Russell two thousand are at all time high. Thank you
- 4:01Speaker 2: Donald Trump.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Wow. So these Wall Street guys, I guess they know
- 4:06Speaker 1: what they're doing. So that indicate that it's a very
- 4:08Speaker 1: very stable economy no matter what sanctions or whatever happens.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I start say that ema the fact that the stock
- 4:16Speaker 1: market is holding it, it just means that it's a
- 4:18Speaker 1: very rock solid, steady economy underneath everything.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Well it is. I mean, look, the stock market is
- 4:23Speaker 2: very valatile, you know, and it could crash by two
- 4:26Speaker 2: thousand points from how you never know. But so I
- 4:28Speaker 2: don't want to get too carried away at the market.
- 4:30Speaker 2: But there is a lot of confidence in the American
- 4:32Speaker 2: economy right now. And I think that is a result
- 4:35Speaker 2: of the fact that all of this investment capital is
- 4:38Speaker 2: coming into the country because of Trump. You know, Trump
- 4:41Speaker 2: isn't attracting hundreds and hundreds of billions. He says trillions.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I don't know if it's trillions, but it's yeah, And
- 4:47Speaker 2: you know that's a lot of money. And if you
- 4:49Speaker 2: think all that money is coming into the American economy,
- 4:51Speaker 2: then of course, what do you want to do. You
- 4:53Speaker 2: want to get in front of that, You want to
- 4:54Speaker 2: invest before that, right, yeah, And so you know that
- 4:59Speaker 2: that's what need to do is be confident in the
- 5:02Speaker 2: American economy. Look, I think we need a new FED chairman.
- 5:05Speaker 2: You and I have talked about this because we've got
- 5:07Speaker 2: a guy who doesn't know what he's doing in Jero
- 5:10Speaker 2: and Powell. But how about this? Why is it that
- 5:12Speaker 2: Larry Kudlow? Isn't it? No?
- 5:14Speaker 1: We need about that because.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Then we lose this show. Yeah, yeah, with you and
- 5:19Speaker 2: I are regulars on them. By the way, Mark, you
- 5:21Speaker 2: always do a great job on that show. I always
- 5:23Speaker 2: enjoy watching you. And what are you on this week?
- 5:26Speaker 3: By the way, you Actually I was just on yesterday,
- 5:28Speaker 3: wasn't it. Yeah, yesterday, you got yesterday? Okay, this is yesterday.
- 5:31Speaker 3: But anyway, so what about Laugher? What about Steve Forbes?
- 5:35Speaker 3: What about somebody who actually knows something about the economy
- 5:37Speaker 3: and knows how to make because you know, we've had
- 5:39Speaker 3: such a volatile Why did we have twenty three percent
- 5:42Speaker 3: increase in prices under Biden? Well, partly because we spent
- 5:44Speaker 3: so much money, Partly because we have a FED chairman
- 5:46Speaker 3: who knows not he doesn't know what he's doing.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, Hey, the other thing that causes a great economy.
- 5:55Speaker 1: We're doing very well as far as energy. We're improving
- 5:57Speaker 1: on our energy.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Oh my god, what a success story this is. I
- 6:00Speaker 2: mean our energy we are I was just listening to
- 6:03Speaker 2: Chris Wright, who was a good friend of mine. By
- 6:06Speaker 2: the way, he's the new Energy Secretary and doing a
- 6:08Speaker 2: fantastic shop, and he was making this point that we
- 6:12Speaker 2: made in the Hotline last week that the United States
- 6:15Speaker 2: is now producing more oil, gas and coal than any
- 6:17Speaker 2: other time in American history. So we're becoming an energy
- 6:21Speaker 2: powerhouse again. The problem is, Mark, if I may, you
- 6:26Speaker 2: and I are both old enough, remember the seventies and
- 6:28Speaker 2: eighties when OPEK had had the blade at our neck
- 6:31Speaker 2: and they could they could throw the American economy into
- 6:33Speaker 2: recession by you know, increasing or decreasing the amount of
- 6:37Speaker 2: oil they were producing. So we were completely hostage to
- 6:41Speaker 2: the Arab nations and to you know, the OPEC countries,
- 6:45Speaker 2: many of which are not very favorable in the United States. Well,
- 6:48Speaker 2: we how did we get out of that crisis? We started?
- 6:50Speaker 2: You know, we had the shale oil revolution, which made
- 6:53Speaker 2: America the number one produced oil and we broke the
- 6:56Speaker 2: back of the cartel. Now why do I say that,
- 6:59Speaker 2: because now we have a situation with minerals, precious minerals,
- 7:02Speaker 2: the critical minerals we need for our national defense, for
- 7:05Speaker 2: our advanced manufacturing, for our microchips, and guess where we're
- 7:09Speaker 2: getting the minerals from?
- 7:10Speaker 1: Where?
- 7:12Speaker 2: China? How crazy is that we have twelve trillion dollars
- 7:17Speaker 2: of mineral resources right below our feet in the mountains
- 7:23Speaker 2: of West Virginia and the mountains of the Dakotas and
- 7:27Speaker 2: then Utah and Colorado. We have to be returning to
- 7:32Speaker 2: a mining powerhouse, just as we were for the you know,
- 7:36Speaker 2: for the first one hundred and fifty years of our country.
- 7:38Speaker 2: So we we should be mined. Just as Trump says, drill,
- 7:42Speaker 2: baby drill, I say, mine, baby mine.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I don't know that sounds like too much common sense right,
- 7:49Speaker 1: exactly pretty, but it's.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Some place to do it. And we got a great
- 7:51Speaker 2: Interior secretary in Doug Bergham. I love the guy. Why
- 7:54Speaker 2: would we want? You know, by the way, there's two countries,
- 7:57Speaker 2: I missfolk. There's two countries where we get our minerals.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Some now China, you know what. The other one is India? Russia? Russia.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Oh even worse, seeve those are.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Two friendly countries in the United States. How stupid is that?
- 8:10Speaker 1: Well?
- 8:10Speaker 2: I think sometimes I take people in Washington take stupid
- 8:13Speaker 2: pills every morning. You know what, We want them to
- 8:16Speaker 2: be dependent on us. We don't want to be dependent
- 8:18Speaker 2: on them.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Well, Steve Moore, a lot of wisdom, a lot of
- 8:20Speaker 1: common sense. Hey, everybody, subscribe to his common sense, right,
