Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherri Mackey
- 0:04Speaker 1: and it's time right now for today's word. Double for
- 0:09Speaker 1: your trouble. Zechariah 9 and 12 says, return to the stronghold,
- 0:15Speaker 1: you prisoners of hope. Even today, I declare that I
- 0:19Speaker 1: will restore double to you. Have you ever gone through
- 0:24Speaker 1: something that just wasn't fair? Somebody walked away from a
- 0:27Speaker 1: relationship you thought would last forever. You experienced a financial
- 0:31Speaker 1: setback you never saw coming. Maybe a dishonest coworker made
- 0:35Speaker 1: you look bad, took credit for your work, or received
- 0:37Speaker 1: the promotion you had been praying about. And you found
- 0:40Speaker 1: yourself asking, God, how could you allow this to happen?
- 0:44Speaker 1: Here's what I want you to remember today. What happened
- 0:47Speaker 1: to you may have been unfair, but it does not
- 0:50Speaker 1: have to define your future. See, God sees every tear
- 0:54Speaker 1: you cried, every disappointment you've endured, and every battle you
- 0:57Speaker 1: fought in silence. Even when people misunderstand you, overlook you,
- 1:02Speaker 1: or mistreat you, you're never outside the reach of God's care.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Today's scripture calls us to be prisoners of hope. I
- 1:10Speaker 1: love that phrase, y'all. A prisoner is held captive, but
- 1:13Speaker 1: when you're a prisoner of hope, you're held captive by
- 1:16Speaker 1: the expectation that God is still able to work in
- 1:20Speaker 1: your life. You refuse to let disappointment convince you that
- 1:24Speaker 1: your best days are behind you. You refuse to let
- 1:27Speaker 1: betrayal make you bitter. You refuse to let one closed
- 1:30Speaker 1: door persuade you that there are no more doors to open.
- 1:34Speaker 1: You remain hopeful because... You trust God not because you
- 1:39Speaker 1: know exactly how everything is going to work out, but
- 1:42Speaker 1: because you know that God can be trusted. Now, being
- 1:48Speaker 1: hopeful doesn't mean pretending that trouble doesn't hurt. It doesn't
- 1:52Speaker 1: mean every loss will be repaid in the exact same
- 1:55Speaker 1: way you expect or that every situation will change overnight.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It means believing that hardship does not have to be
- 2:02Speaker 1: the end of your story. That job you lost may
- 2:05Speaker 1: lead you to discover a new opportunity. That painful relationship
- 2:09Speaker 1: may teach you to establish healthier boundaries. That financial setback
- 2:13Speaker 1: may push you to seek wisdom, make new plans, and
- 2:16Speaker 1: rebuild with greater understanding. God can bring purpose out of
- 2:21Speaker 1: painful seasons you never would have chosen. So don't waste
- 2:25Speaker 1: your energy trying to get revenge on the people who
- 2:27Speaker 1: hurt you. Don't abandon your dreams because somebody mistreated you.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And don't let yesterday's disappointment steal today's expectation. Your trouble
- 2:37Speaker 1: is real, but guess what? So is your hope. So
- 2:39Speaker 1: you keep praying, keep growing, keep trusting God, keep moving forward,
- 2:43Speaker 1: even when you can't see the whole picture. You may
- 2:46Speaker 1: have taken a hit, but you're not counted out. You
- 2:49Speaker 1: may have experienced a loss, but your life is not over.
- 2:53Speaker 1: With God, there's still room for restoration, renewed joy, fresh opportunities,
- 2:57Speaker 1: and a future filled with purpose. So stay. a prisoner
- 3:02Speaker 1: of hope. What hurts you does not get to write
- 3:05Speaker 1: the final chapter. Come on, Jesus. Father, thank you for
- 3:08Speaker 1: being our stronghold when life feels unfair. When disappointment comes,
- 3:13Speaker 1: keep us from becoming bitter, discouraged, or hopeless. Help us
- 3:18Speaker 1: to trust you with every loss, every betrayal, and every setback.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Give us wisdom to learn from difficult seasons and courage
- 3:26Speaker 1: to keep moving forward. Restore our joy, God. Strengthen our faith.
- 3:30Speaker 1: and open our eyes to new opportunities you place before us. God,
- 3:34Speaker 1: we refuse to let trouble steal our joy. We believe
- 3:37Speaker 1: you can bring purpose out of our pain and lead
- 3:40Speaker 1: us into a future filled with your goodness in Jesus' name. Now,
- 3:43Speaker 1: that's your word for today. Take it, apply it to
- 3:46Speaker 1: your everyday life, and you continue to be encouraged and inspired.
- 3:49Speaker 1: It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherri Mackey.
