Four hundred residents at Park at Buckingham in Homewood are being relocated due to serious safety issues—not because the city owns the property, but because community action is stepping in big time. After the city’s initial $25,000 emergency fund, two churches rallied and added $90,000, with another $20,000 in donations bringing the total to $135,000 to cover moving costs, deposits, and rent.
