- 0:22All right, Welcome into the Treehouse. I'm danilm Alley, joined by of
- 0:26course Tree Trenholme. This is a special special episode of the Treehouse, so
- 0:31much so we're not even calling it an episode. It's just going to be
- 0:34a standalone thing and as long as it goes well, this will be a
- 0:38running thing that we'll begin doing here in the Treehouse. And it should sound
- 0:43familiar to those of you who listen to us on the radio for so many
- 0:45years, because every Friday on the radio, just about every Friday, we
- 0:51would have one or two dogs, occasionally a cat brought into the studio from
- 0:57Pause in the City, the largest all volunteer, no kill animal rescue group
- 1:02in North Texas, and it was one of our favorite segments because we got
- 1:07to play with puppies and stuff. And that also meant that people would come
- 1:11to the studio to bring the dogs, fosters, volunteers and everything. And
- 1:15one of the people that got I don't know roped in if it was voluntary
- 1:18or involuntary to do that on Fridays was a young woman named Kaylin, and
- 1:23she was very nice despite everything that probably was said or happened when she was
- 1:27in that Treehouse Studio. She's actually back for more. So Hi Kalin from
- 1:33Posmas City. Hello, thank you for doing this with us and for helping
- 1:38us get back into something that we've done for so many years, and that
- 1:42is doing our part as much as we can to help get animals in North
- 1:46Texas rescued. So for more information on Posinas City, I'll let Kaylin do
- 1:53that, just because I'm trying to remember. Do I remember the actual website
- 1:56properly? That one's actually pretty easy. You're just looking at Pousita City dot
- 2:00org. Even if you just start typing in pause d it's one of the
- 2:05first things that pops up in your Google search. So very very good.
- 2:10So yeah, we were looking at doing kind of a reintroduction because obviously you're
- 2:15probably gonna have a few new listeners as Walson's Gurney platforms, So that is
- 2:21possible. We're not certain of that yet, but it's always possible. As
- 2:23one of our listeners said very early on when we started the podcast, they
- 2:28said, wow, you're going from local to global. I never really thought
- 2:31about it that way, but sure, So if you happen to be listening
- 2:35in see what was because we have statistics that are available that are geolocation,
- 2:40so we know like our top four most downloaded countries. So if you're in
- 2:46Cambodia listening to us right now and you want a dog as a pet,
- 2:52I guess you could apply at Postmas City dot Org. I'm not sure what
- 2:54the transportation would look like, but I'm you know, I guess we canna
- 2:59be a fun one to figure out. Yeah, that would be that'll be
- 3:00fun logistics. So let's have some unsuspecting victims at a Tody's when we were
- 3:07in Bedford. So you did gain a few people there for sure. That
- 3:09was fun. Uh yeah. The the first road show we did at Toady's,
- 3:14I've made sure to ask the crowd, okay, who's here for the
- 3:15Treehouse Podcast? And a bunch of people raise their hands And then then I
- 3:17said, all right, well who's here? From having no idea what the
- 3:22hell is going on? Are like five or six people raised their hand and
- 3:24I was like, good, welcome, welcome to the show. So good
- 3:28time. Let's jump in to this pause in the city segment, first time
- 3:35on the Treehouse Podcast with Kaylin and uh, let's start with how we normally
- 3:39start up. Do you have any dogs available for adoption or to foster.
- 3:44Right now, I pause in the city. Well, yeah, absolutely,
- 3:47UM, I was going to focus on just a couples that are available for
- 3:51adoption already because we do have to vent coming up, so I will circle
- 3:54back to that. Um. But if you check out our website, um,
- 3:59it's it's mobile friendly and you know, on the computer, so if
- 4:01you're looking out on your mobile phone, you know you'll have something that just
- 4:04scroll through. One of the first that pops up is Snickerdoodle. He is
- 4:11hard to miss. He is on the younger side and he is tann and
- 4:15white Pomeranian, so he definitely lives up to his name. He is a
- 4:21huge sweetheart. When his foster came into the room, he gave her a
- 4:27giant smile. There's actually a photo of it on the website. You you
- 4:30cannot miss. It is one of the cutest are in things. I'm actually
- 4:35trying to pull that up right now to take a look at it. So
- 4:39you said Sneakerdoodle is a Pomeranian and how old did you say, Um,
- 4:44I don't have an exact age. We think between one and a half and
- 4:46two years old. Food motivated, so you know, typically that makes for
- 4:54for pretty good training experience as well. Gotcha very cool? So that is
- 4:59Snickerdoodle. So it is a sneakerdoodle. Is Sninkerdoodle good with other dogs,
- 5:02cats, best in a single single dog household? Or are you sure?
- 5:09Um? So he is kind of new. I'm not one hunter present sure
- 5:13on that, but I can certainly find out for you that way, you
- 5:15know, when you know, when we circle back, I can share that
- 5:19with you. All good and if nothing else, if you're if you're curious
- 5:23about Snickerdoodle, you can actually just contact Pause in the city and he can
- 5:27you can ask them and they can actually put you in touch with Snickerdoodle's foster.
- 5:30And that's kind of a good thing that works when you work with Pause
- 5:34in the city. Since it's all volunteer and foster based, there's no actual
- 5:38brick and mortar building, you can actually speak to the foster and you can
- 5:42get great information about the dog because the dog's been living in the home with
- 5:45that foster parent. Yeah. Absolutely, That's definitely something that we pride ourselves
- 5:50on. It's a bit of a differentiator. Um, you know, we're
- 5:55all about shelter dogs. I actually just rescued a dog, and sometimes you
- 5:59don't really know what you're getting yourself into. But with how we run things,
- 6:03we typically only have about fifteen dogs in our system at a time.
- 6:10We rescue about fifty a year on average. But it really does give you
- 6:15a sense of you know what the dog is like when you're working with us,
- 6:19because your foster can give you a ton of information on just temperament,
- 6:25whether they're good with kids, cats, you know, all sorts of things.
- 6:29Awesome. Okay, so that's a sneaker doodle, very adorable Pomeranian,
- 6:32and what else do you have for us this week? I also wanted to
- 6:36talk about Rocky. If you see him, We've got that. He's a
- 6:45silver a pit bull and he's he's a pretty big boy, but he's he's
- 6:51gray and white. He's got like the little white booties on his front two
- 6:55feet. Okay, and you said that's Rocky. Yes. Because of his
- 7:02size, I guess a lot of newcomers, his foster said, tend to
- 7:05be a little bit nervous, but he is incredibly well socialized. He's super
- 7:12playful and temperamentally, he seems to be very ear to please. Now he
- 7:17is great with kids, and apparently he's just a giant cuddler. And did
- 7:24you say about how much Rocky weighs? Oh? I M no, I
- 7:30did not. I don't have That's okay. It's still the first time we're
- 7:33going to get all this stuff figured out. You know, a lot of
- 7:35times we would find out things obviously how big the dog is, how little,
- 7:41how much it weighs, what it looks like, and then also the
- 7:46whether or not it's better in a single dog, or is friendly with other
- 7:48dogs, or if it's only dogs of the same size or smaller, if
- 7:53it's okay with cats or not, you know, all that sort of stuff,
- 7:56and sometimes if whether or not the dog is good with children, because
- 7:59sometimes children can be jerks. Yeah. Absolutely, it's definitely, like as
- 8:07you mentioned, we do have so you know, if you look at Rocky
- 8:13on our website as an example, we do have the link for info at
- 8:16Pause in the City dot org in the information for the pets, but we
- 8:20do have information for Katherine, his foster as well. So if you have
- 8:24specific questions about one of these dogs, you know, if if you'd rather
- 8:31go straight to the foster and ask these questions, you know, some of
- 8:33their information is in there, so you definitely have that available to you.
- 8:37Very cool. So that is Rocky. So we started with nicker Doodle the
- 8:41Pomeranian and now to Rocky the pit Bull. And you also said that Pause
- 8:48in the City has has a fun event coming up that we need to mention.
- 8:52Yes, we are going to be at Holy Grail in Plano. It
- 8:58is eight two four zero Holy Girl Pub in Plano wanted July the fifteenth,
- 9:03and that is off Preston Road. I've actually been there. I remember when
- 9:09when my wife and I were still living in Texas. I believe that's the
- 9:11place we went to for brunch one time and actually really enjoyed. It's on
- 9:15that south side of south side of Park Lane in Plano, just east of
- 9:18Park in Preston, I believe. So, yeah, that sounds right.
- 9:20It's been a minute since I've been there. I moved to the opposite end
- 9:24of the Magic Plex, but years ago there, back in the day.
- 9:26We'll put it that way. I'll see what you're doing when you're trying to
- 9:31protect your age a little bit. I was gonna say when I was bartending,
- 9:35that's actually that's how I got involved with Paul. The city is I
- 9:37met Mark when I was bartending. We got to be buddies. That's sounds
- 9:39about right. I believe just about every one of you're talking about Mark Verma,
- 9:43of course, may he rest in peace, the former president and lead
- 9:48volunteer and just kind of all things pauls in the city, Mark Verma,
- 9:52who passed away last year. Now I'm about a year ago now, right,
- 9:58Yeah, I believe it is the end of June last year. And
- 10:03it seems to me like, I mean, Mark knew a ton of people,
- 10:07and part of the reason he knew a ton of people was through his
- 10:11work with Pause in the city. Another reason was because he was constantly out.
- 10:15If he wasn't doing something for dogs, he was at a at a
- 10:18show in Deep Elham or somewhere else in North Texas at a rock show or
- 10:20a metal show because he was hardcore, or he'd be hanging out with friends
- 10:24at a bar, and that's you know. We met him through the radio,
- 10:26but it was inevitable we would have met him somewhere in North Texas anyway,
- 10:31because he was out all the time. But you met him through through
- 10:33bartending. Yeah, Yeah, I met him when I was bartending, and
- 10:39then I ran into him wile I was on a date one time and Mark
- 10:41and I ended up hanging out instead. Wow, that must have been the
- 10:45worst date ever. Always okay, I mean seriously, I love Mark Verma,
- 10:50but even even though the man's in his grave, I'm still gonna I'm
- 10:52still gonna give him a hard time because that was our relationship. You know,
- 10:56it's a bad date. If Mark Vermas your upgrade. He's just so
- 11:03nice, it's just like impossible. You know, we connected about dogs,
- 11:07and it was it was over for that guy. It was you know,
- 11:11it's like I said, I had a great time. Well, good god,
- 11:13I'm glad you had a great time, and I'm sure I'm sure Verma
- 11:16did. The other guy who cares Trey, you have any questions about about
- 11:20the event or any of the dogs that Caitlin mentioned today, Well, I'm
- 11:24curious because you talked about that. Y'all do about fifty dogs a year you
- 11:28rescue. U is the number of dogs you rescue depended on your number of
- 11:33fosters, So yeah, there's definitely going to be a correlation there. Um
- 11:41kind of you know, Dan, if you don't mind giving a little bit
- 11:43of information about how we run those things, um, I'd love to give
- 11:48y'all I have a like a brief overview just because you know I'm turned out
- 11:52with sound like a really long time ago. Yeah, please whatever you want.
- 11:58Uh you know, So you know, we certain two thousand and five,
- 12:01but like I said, about fifteen dogs a year or sorry, fifteen
- 12:03dogs at a time. And what that typically entails is when we are rescuing
- 12:11dogs, the ones that we work with tend to be more on the emergent
- 12:13side. A lot of times that medically as well, So we do tend
- 12:20to take the ones that are a little bit more difficult for somebody to just
- 12:24say, hey, I want to just go rescue that dog. So part
- 12:26of our process is we are paired with vets across the metroplex and we have
- 12:33is it Hot Happy Gentle Dogs in Princeton is one of our main training partners.
- 12:39So we work, you know, as physical heative unit to make sure
- 12:43that when you're talking to us about adopting a dog, not only getting the
- 12:46full picture, but you're getting a healthy dog. And that way we are
- 12:52really cracking down the residivism. We're making sure that when you have a dog
- 12:58and you connect with them, you know you're set up for success instead of
- 13:01you know, so many times in just the rescue world in general, you'd
- 13:07be a lot of turnover as far as you know, you have a dog
- 13:11that gets adopted out, family thinks it's a great idea. They may not
- 13:13know why the dog was surrendered or you know, don through whatever the situation
- 13:18is. And here we can pretty much circumvent that. In our adoption fees,
- 13:24they range anywhere from like one hundred bucks to three hundred dollars, and
- 13:28that's typically what you're going to pay for a vet visit anyway, when you're
- 13:33you know, doing a full work up on a dog to figure everything out
- 13:35when you're rescuing them. UM, just went thing about myself. You know
- 13:39it's um, you're you're pretty much just having a clean slate as far as
- 13:43that goes. So we really pride ourselves on I mean, obviously we're dog
- 13:48people, we love animals in general, Um, but really making sure that
- 13:52everybody that's involved has a happy outcome. And I don't I don't know when
- 13:58the last time you paid sticker on a vet bill, but three hundred dollars
- 14:01just for a check up and blood work would be cheap. I'm sorry.
- 14:05Yeah, you're right, because three hundred dollars. It's just like that's that's
- 14:09almost like a cover charge with the VET, if that's just to get in
- 14:11the door. I took my moms into the VET the other day and just
- 14:15for vaccinations, blood work, and an allergy shot. Six hundred bucks.
- 14:22Now, when you did you mean to say you took your mom's dog?
- 14:26Yeah? What did I say? Well, you said your mom's so I
- 14:28didn't know if you because I understand you guys have a tumultuous relationship. But
- 14:33if things gotten so bad that you decided you're not taking her to a regular
- 14:37doctor anymore, You're just taking mom to you know, city vet. Oh,
- 14:39if I did that, we'd, you know, I'd read the dog
- 14:43poem. We'll all gather for your mother's crossing onto the Rainbow bridge. Yeah,
- 14:50all right, Well, thank you Kalin so much. From pausing the
- 14:52city. We have to make this a regular thing. And part of the
- 14:54regular thing we're thinking about doing is our listeners are weird and so are we
- 14:58kind of and they've been clamoring for birthdays. Would you want to hang out
- 15:01for some birthdays with us for a few minutes. Yeah, let's do it.
- 15:05Okay. Cool. None of these people, as far as I know,
- 15:09are available for adoption. If they are, it's definitely going to be
- 15:13news to them. The only downstairs. I don't have any sort of a
- 15:18news sounder to transition, but I'll work on that later. So we'll focus
- 15:22on the birthday. Since we're not on every single day, we'll focus on
- 15:26the birthdays that just happened throughout this entire week, Monday June twelfth, all
- 15:31the way through Friday, June sixteenth. On Monday June twelfth, Birthday's work.
- 15:35Abby Lee, she is thirty six. Now either of you know who
- 15:39she is? No? Have either of you seen Mad Max Fury Road?
- 15:50No? Oh, you two are missing out. Go see that movie.
- 15:52It's amazing. It's one of the best action movies that's come out in like
- 15:54the last twenty years. So Abby Lee, she's an Australian model and actress.
- 15:58She was The Dark Tower. She was also in Gods of Egypt as
- 16:02well as The dag in Mad Max Fury Wrote and then Dancing with the Stars
- 16:07pro Ardem is something like that. He's forty one. He won the twenty
- 16:11ninth season of Dancing with the Stars with Caitlin Bristow. His other partners included
- 16:15Nancy Kerrigan, Maureen McCormick, Leah Thompson, and Patti LaBelle. Former Victorious
- 16:23Secret model Adrian Alima turns forty two, she retired, and to me,
- 16:29she was always one that everyone knew because she was the really dark brunette with
- 16:32the bright blue eyes. Because all the rest of the angel seemed to be
- 16:34either blonde or some sort of shade of blonde, she was the one that
- 16:38was unapologetically brunette. You know, she, by the way, married an
- 16:44NBA player, Marko Jarick in two thousand and nine. Did you guys know
- 16:48that it was alleged that she had saved herself for marriage. That's unique and
- 16:59the go ahead tray was that. What I mean was that well known Victoria's
- 17:07Secret model. It was, well, I'm not a professional stalker. I
- 17:10knew about it just because I guess I follow news and things for like twenty
- 17:12four years, so I was aware of that. She had told people,
- 17:15Oh, yeah, I'm a virgin and blah blah blah, and everyone's like,
- 17:18really, you're running around and underwear for everyone to see, and you're
- 17:21a verge. But she said yes, yes, I was downside is though
- 17:23they got divorced, So maybe the sex one all that good Jay from Jay
- 17:29and Silent Bob. The actor's name is Jason Muse. He's forty nine today.
- 17:32Obviously in almost all of Kevin Smith's movies and I love have you ever
- 17:36heard all of those? Have you ever read his story? Jason Muse?
- 17:40Yeah, not in great detail. I know he's had a lot of issues
- 17:42with drugs, but based on based on the Jay and Silent Bob movies,
- 17:45I'm not really surprised by that. Yeah, I mean, wasn't one of
- 17:52the bits he did in one of the movies, like the actual story of
- 17:55him getting clean, like he got busted driving down a boardwalk foot drugs in
- 18:00the car. That sounds very familiar. Yeah, I think he had multiple
- 18:07runnins and to the point where even Kevin Smith was like, man, I
- 18:10can't you know, because Kevin, you know, basically from what I read,
- 18:14and you know, there's Kevin would before a movie, get him cleaned
- 18:17up, get him into rehab, and you know, get him through the
- 18:18movie, and then yeah, he would fall off the wagon again. And
- 18:22to the point like everyone had just been like, Okay, you're gonna die,
- 18:26but he pulled his head out and it seems to be doing well.
- 18:30Now, well, good for him. Yeah, he has he has persevered,
- 18:32and now he's made it to the ripe old age of forty nine.
- 18:37Moving on, this is actually a big Monday Birthdays. Meredith Brooks is sixty
- 18:41five. Her biggest hit was Bitch, which is not by Atlantis Morris Set,
- 18:44and it probably took me about twenty years to realize that because they sound
- 18:47so similar. Trey. The other day on an episode, we were talking
- 18:49about Revenge of the Nerds and how wildly not only inappropriate it is by today's
- 18:55standards, but downright illegal as far as the things that occurred in the film.
- 19:00Timothy Busfield, who played Poindexter in Revenge of the Nerds, as sixty
- 19:03six today, Kaylin, did you ever see Revenge of the Nerds? Very
- 19:06long time ago? But I have seen goonies? Thank you, thank you?
- 19:11So if I was to scream out, hey, you guys, you
- 19:12know what I'm referring to, Oh yeah, absolutely. By the way,
- 19:17can you look at a baby Ruth without thinking of sloth? I think that's
- 19:19the worst candy bar. Sorry, yeah, that's not my thing. I
- 19:23was never a huge Baby Ruth fan. I've always been a Snickers guy,
- 19:26but ever since Goonies and Sloth and Chunk when they're chained up in that basement
- 19:30floor with the baby Ruth. Every time I would see a baby Ruth,
- 19:33I just think of goonies. See I always think truffle shuffle when I think
- 19:37of goonies. Oh yeah, you have to. I think about truffle shuffle
- 19:41anytime I'm standing at someone's gait, and it's lots. And then finally,
- 19:47on Monday, Marv Albert who wants allegedly bit a woman back in the nineties,
- 19:51yet somehow salvaged his career to where almost no one remembers it. He's
- 19:56eighty two on Monday bit a woman wearing him's lingerie. Thank you for including
- 20:02that very important part of the story. Trade that is that is true because
- 20:06when I saw his birthday on Monday, I went to look up as like,
- 20:08I remember, he's like biting an escort or something and he got in
- 20:11trouble. And then reading it's like when it was not an escort at all.
- 20:15She worked for him or worked for NBC at the time, so I
- 20:17mean it was by like the me too, movement standards. This is one
- 20:21of the most egregious. But because it happened in the mid to late nineties,
- 20:25it just you know, he got fired for it at the time,
- 20:26but then he was able to come back and just kind of work his way
- 20:29back in and most people don't even remember it anymore. Yeah, he was
- 20:33off the air probably a year, and then he got back and I think
- 20:36he just retired four or five years ago. Yeah. I think the ultimate
- 20:40irony and all of this is that his well known catchphrase is yes, thank
- 20:48you. I've been sitting on that all week. Moving on to Tuesday,
- 20:52Aaron Taylor Johnson is thirty three. He's best maybe best known as kick Ass
- 20:56and kick Ass one and two, but he was also Quicksilver and Avengers of
- 21:00Old Trump, the human star of twenty fourteen's Godzilla, which, if you've
- 21:02not seen the New Godzilla movie, that was really good. That was twenty
- 21:06fourteen. He was Aaron Johnson until he married did you know fifty Shades of
- 21:11Grade director Sam Taylor, Sam Taylor Wooden or Sam Taylor wood Sorry, they
- 21:17combined their last names to become the Taylor Johnsons. They have two kids together,
- 21:21and by the way, that director Sam Taylor Wood. She's fifty six
- 21:26and he's thirty three, so it doesn't always go one direction. So on
- 21:32Tuesday it was actually a very Marvel heavy birthday day. Kat Dennings, who
- 21:36was in the thor movies, she's thirty seven. Chris Evans, who played
- 21:38Captain America, of course, is forty two. He also played the human
- 21:42Torch in the first two Fantastic four movies. Has anyone ever read why He's
- 21:45such a pain in the ass That Marvel was like, we don't want you
- 21:48back. I never heard that angle to me. The angle on it was
- 21:52always I don't really feel like there's a whole lot else I need or want
- 21:56to do with the character, sort of very actory type things. I never
- 21:57heard that he was a major pain in the ass. I remember after who
- 22:02was the last Avengers End Game Avengers movie? Yeah, that was in game,
- 22:07um, and that's why you haven't seen him in anything else since then.
- 22:10At the same time, he was like ninety something or one hundred something
- 22:12years old in Avengers End Game, I think they were like, okay,
- 22:15I think let him go now, like timelines mattered anymore. I know they
- 22:21don't. I know they don't and it's all been thrown out or whatever.
- 22:23But I mean at a certain point, it's like they're if you bring him
- 22:27back, and then there's the possibility of bringing back you know, Robert Downey
- 22:30Junior is Tony Stark. It's like, then it just kind of ruins all
- 22:33the other stuff that happened. And they were earlier movies I remember. I
- 22:37mean when that, I think even before that came out Marvel, you know,
- 22:41basically Disney was like, we're done, he is not coming back for
- 22:45any more movies, which they usually don't shut the door. I mean,
- 22:51yeah, something it's like, uh, with Who's Store? I just drivel
- 22:56Chris Mworth, Yeah, yeah, him. He even said yeah. They
- 23:00were like, because I'll come back and do another one if they'll come up
- 23:03with a good story. And I think they were like, okay, we'll
- 23:06get on. But yeah, and I remember he said that He's like,
- 23:10I'll play this character until I die. Totally separate subject. How do they
- 23:12keep screwing up the Fantastic Four movies? I don't they've They've taken what they've
- 23:18made two or three of them, different casts, both were pretty crappy,
- 23:22And then I just saw the new cast for him, and I thought Krasinski
- 23:26was going to be in it, which but maybe was a saving grace and
- 23:30he's not. If that if that league is accurate for the cast, Oh
- 23:33that's true, Kaylyn. Are you much of a Marvel movie fan? Seeing
- 23:37the Marvel movies. I have not seen the Fantastic Four movies. I think
- 23:41it's all the first one one that came out. Yeah, well, Jessica
- 23:42Alba and Chris Evans as the Human Torch. Yeah, no, that was
- 23:47so long ago. Um, I remember that I watched it. It was
- 23:51not my choice, but I just I love the Marvel movies and with Chris
- 23:57Hems where it's you know, when they did ragnar Rock, that was it
- 24:00was so different, but it was so good. I think, you know,
- 24:03working with Tycho for that movie. Was loved it. Then on Wednesday,
- 24:10June fourteenth, we've got Jasmine Bleath from Baywatch. He's fifty five to
- 24:15on that day, boy, George is sixty two? Really yeah, fifty
- 24:19five. And I haven't seen any anything that she's done recently. I don't
- 24:25know if you know she's on social media it also, I have no idea,
- 24:29you know, what she looks like or what she's doing at fifty five.
- 24:32Also celebrated a birthday on Wednesday was the forty fifth President of the United
- 24:36States, Donald Trump. That was the day after he got indicted for a
- 24:37bunch of stuff, So I guess it was a bad day then a good
- 24:41day for him. Thursday, June fifteenth, Ice Cube is fifty four.
- 24:45What's an interesting career going from hardcore rapper to slapstick comedy actor Disney movies.
- 24:52Did you ever yeah, back in the day of NWA, did you ever
- 24:56think, Hey, that guy is gonna be a Disney star? You know
- 25:00what, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a Disney version of NWA. I'd
- 25:03be curious to see where they take that. Helen Hunt is sixty. She
- 25:10hasn't done much recently, but she's done plenty of Like have you seen have
- 25:14you seen her lately? No? I haven't. Oh you should google her.
- 25:18Oh do you want to talk about bad work? Oh? No,
- 25:22Holy crap, she went down plastic surgery rabbit hole. Huh. I think
- 25:27she's because. Yeah, they're talking about doing a Twister too, and I
- 25:32think she They said she would be in it, but but the Twister and
- 25:34this one's gonna be her face. I don't know how it. It puzzles
- 25:40me because, um, have you seen the new the are the latest aunt
- 25:44Man Wasp, the quantum Mating or whatever it was I have, Yeah,
- 25:48Okay, Michelle Peiffer still looks amazing. Yes, and that's not fair for
- 25:52anybody else. That's a that's that's that's one of those impossible standards. Well,
- 25:56it's like, but some of them, you just it's not a money
- 26:00issue, like how do some of them get just such bad work and other
- 26:06you know, and I don't know if Michelle Pfeiffer has had work or not.
- 26:07She certainly looks like she's had good work because she doesn't look close to
- 26:12her age. The way I look at it is this, if you have
- 26:15any amount of money and you feel like you want or you need plastic surgery,
- 26:21you have to find out who does. The Kardashians because their work,
- 26:23their work is almost universally perfect. Like I can't stand most of them,
- 26:27but their faces look really good. I mean, look at Chloe, she's
- 26:30got she's on like her fifth face. All right, moving on, we've
- 26:33also gotten Now let's go to Friday, June sixteenth. Sybil Kekelly is forty
- 26:38three. She played Shay on Game of Thrones. I believe she was one
- 26:42of the actresses that did porn and then did Game of Thrones, so being
- 26:47naked and almost every episode was not exactly new to her. That wasn't until
- 26:52the fourth season when Tyrian had to kill her. Trey, were you a
- 26:56Game of Thrones fan? Do you ever watch it? I barely got through
- 26:57the first season, and I I never have watched anything else. I don't
- 27:03know why. I just it didn't And normally that's you know, like a
- 27:06Lord of the Rings, love those movies, love the books, but Game
- 27:10of Thrones just I never caught the bug. What about you, kin?
- 27:15Yeah, I watched one maybe one and a half. Apparently the kid falling
- 27:21out of the window not a big deal. But like when they sat the
- 27:25horse and then they killed the dog, I was out. Yeah, I
- 27:27totally get that. Tara and I are the same way. I'm with you,
- 27:30that the whole animal thing that, like, I nearly didn't get through
- 27:36the first episode of Hell, the first five minutes of Yellowstone because you know,
- 27:41in the beginning getting they have that wreck and then he has to put
- 27:44the horse down. I'm glad I did, because that's a fantastic show.
- 27:48But yeah, that's one of the difficult things that we had to deal with
- 27:52Walking Dead because anything on four legs was on the TV show Walking Dead.
- 27:56You know what stays were numbered. You were a big fan of that show,
- 27:59right, I was. Yeah. I mean did you watch it all
- 28:02the way through? I mean, did you watch the spinoffs? And I
- 28:04started watching the first spin off a little bit, but then I kind of
- 28:07lost interests as I lost interest in and Walking Dead in general, because it
- 28:11just got too dumb for me, kind of the same realm zombie movies.
- 28:15Did you watch the Last of Us? Yes, I watched that and enjoyed
- 28:18it, same as different. It's different. Walking Dead is is gorier,
- 28:22so much more blood and guts, literally, especially one of those episodes where
- 28:26they covered themselves in blood and guts to sneak through a zombie horde. Walking
- 28:30Dead is really good the first handful of seasons, and then it kind of
- 28:33you know, you know I have to see Nick Offerman naked. Yeah,
- 28:38no one could really prepare you for a seasons. I'm sorry for episode three
- 28:42of the Last of Us. No, it takes a harder. I mean,
- 28:48why don't you watch the whole thing? You realize that what do you
- 28:49want to say? Is episode three of Last of Us takes a hard left
- 28:52hand turn. Yeah, that's you're just not you know, the first two
- 28:59episodes, you know, shooting zombies and mushroom people or whatever and anything else,
- 29:03and then it Yeah, and then all of a sudden you're forced to
- 29:06swallow a really sweet love story between two middle aged bearded men, and finally
- 29:14film met Phil Mickelson, probably the most famous left handed professional golfer golfer ever,
- 29:18sort of God, I talked for a living. He is fifty three
- 29:21today. Interesting thing about Phil, he's actually not left handed, so he's
- 29:23been lying his entire career. So when he started playing with his dad,
- 29:30he took his dad's club and turned him around and he just started and the
- 29:33way the mechanics of a golf swing, you know, it actually makes sense
- 29:38if you are right handed to be a left handed golfer because your lead arm
- 29:42is the first one. But that's he started playing in reverse. So he
- 29:47basically was a right handed guy, but he plays golf left handed. Or
- 29:52he has a big gambling problem, yeah that I know. Or is it
- 29:57possible that he's just been screwing with people his entire career. What if he
- 30:03was actually a better golfer right handed, but just to show everybody up,
- 30:07he kicks everybody's ass left handed. Like one of these days he's gonna be
- 30:11like, ha ha, I've been playing backwards this entire time. He switches
- 30:15around to righty, and then he just wins every tournament from here to eternity,
- 30:19like the Dart scene and Ted Lasso. That's exactly what I was thinking
- 30:22about as Phil Nicholson lines up the shop barbecue sauce. Yeah, Kaylan,
- 30:30are you a golfer at all? Oh? No, you do not want
- 30:34me to go to the golf course. I'm even terrible of mini golf.
- 30:41Yeah, it's it's bad. Are you one of those that if you go,
- 30:44if you go to if you go to putt putt, that everyone around
- 30:47you needs to be wearing, you know, full body armor. Uh?
- 30:49Not quite that bad? Um so perfect example, went to talk golf for
- 30:57my birthday a few years ago, and I thought it was losing because I
- 31:00was doing so terribly. But I didn't realize the game had changed and I
- 31:03was actually doing really well. No idea. I thought I was losing,
- 31:07but I was just so bad at it that day. I had just kind
- 31:10of given up and was just taken my turn. Didn't even realize I was
- 31:12winning. So it turns out ignorance is bliss. It is. And I'm
- 31:18the same way with bowling. I'm terrible at it. Are you sure?
- 31:22Or you're just not paying attention like you might be bowling? You know a
- 31:23perfect game, you're just not sure of it. Well, so I had
- 31:26a work function and we had to go bowling. I was like, this
- 31:30is going to be terrible again. I was. I was winning because I
- 31:34I didn't realize, like close to a two fifty was pretty good I was
- 31:41doing. I was like, can we put the bumpers up? Is it?
- 31:44Were like, you're winning? When I started crying, I started losing,
- 31:48and I was awful. All right, I'm starting to think there's something
- 31:52wrong with your eyes. I've just learned that if I don't care about it,
- 31:56I'm going to do really well. But if I'm really determined to do
- 31:57well and beat somebody at it, I'm in trouble. All right. So
- 32:01Trey, what I'm hearing is we need to take her golfing and bowling and
- 32:05throw a bunch of money in the middle. That's I'm thinking, yeah,
- 32:07just gotta she's got a hustle going on. Oh I'm so bad. Just
- 32:14cart will I will be the cart girl. I'm totally happy with that,
- 32:17along with getting dogs rescued and adopted with Pause in the City. Right,
- 32:22well, there we go. Let's put together a golf tournament with Pause in
- 32:25the City and go hand out drinks and get some puppies some homes. You
- 32:30know what, Honestly, I think you just made Trey's day because as much
- 32:32golf as he's been playing lately as a as an unemployee general manager in the
- 32:37bar industry, I think being able to finally play golf and have this show
- 32:42coincide and for a good cause, like say Pause in the City getting animals
- 32:45rescued, that make his day. Yeah, being that I actually I carry
- 32:52I carry dog treats and cat treats in my golf bag so whenever if I
- 32:55see a homeless animal on the course, I can feed him. Trey,
- 33:00this is the point in your life where you've crossed over from a single man
- 33:04to middle age cat lady. Pretty much. Kalyn from Pause in the City,
- 33:10thank you so much for hanging out with us today. We'll try to
- 33:13do this again. Next week, we'll get some more dogs featured, and
- 33:15we can mention any current events coming up with Pause in the City. For
- 33:20more information on all the animals available for adoption, go to pause in the
- 33:22City dot org. Thanks Kaylin, Thanks you
